- 0:00Chapter No. Eighteen. The King was working in the garden. He seemed
- 0:05very glad to see me. We walked through the garden. This is the
- 0:09queen, he said. She was clipping a rose bush. Oh, how
- 0:13do you do? She said. We sat down at a table under a
- 0:16big tree, and the King ordered whisky and soda. We have good whisky
- 0:21anyway, he said. The revolutionary committee, he told me, would not
- 0:25allow him to go outside the palace grounds. Plus Tierras is a very good
- 0:29man, I believe, he said, but frightfully difficult. I think he
- 0:34did write through shooting those chaps. If Kerensky had shot a few men,
- 0:38things might have been altogether different. Course, the great thing in this sort
- 0:42of affair is not to be shot oneself. It was very jolly. We
- 0:47talked for a long time. Like all Greeks, he wanted to go to
- 0:51America. End of Chapter eighteen.
