- 0:16Speaker 1: Welcome to jags AM on Wednesday, October First, I'm kind
- 0:19Speaker 1: of Annie Stephens, fran Sexton, John Osier with me this morning.
- 0:21Speaker 1: We got a little bit of an extended week as
- 0:23Speaker 1: we get prepared for Monday Night football. The Chiefs are
- 0:26Speaker 1: coming to town. It is going to be one to remember.
- 0:29Speaker 1: Let's get into our big Things today, brought to you
- 0:31Speaker 1: by GEAJ Government Empoyees Health Association. Big Thing number one,
- 0:35Speaker 1: give and take. We've told you a ton about the
- 0:37Speaker 1: takeaways thirteen so far this season through four weeks. But
- 0:42Speaker 1: the Chiefs they don't give it away that often. Only
- 0:44Speaker 1: one interception for Patrick Mahomes so far. So Brian, something's
- 0:47Speaker 1: got to give on Monday Night football. Which one's it
- 0:49Speaker 1: going to be?
- 0:49Speaker 2: Well, hopefully you can force a couple of fumbles because
- 0:51Speaker 2: Patrick Mahomes is playing really sharp. If you saw any
- 0:54Speaker 2: of that Ravens game the other night, you realize even
- 0:56Speaker 2: without their all star cast, right, I mean, they are
- 1:00Speaker 2: he sing together an offensive lineup right now until some
- 1:03Speaker 2: of their guys get back, like Rashie Rice.
- 1:05Speaker 3: Who's on a six game suspension.
- 1:07Speaker 2: Mahomes is just magical with the ball in his hands
- 1:11Speaker 2: and he puts the ball in places where only his
- 1:13Speaker 2: guys get it. So you'd like to see Eric Arms dead,
- 1:16Speaker 2: Dennis guard Deck, who else, Foyer, Luakan punch the ball
- 1:20Speaker 2: out on Pacheco or some of these receivers when they
- 1:23Speaker 2: get the ball in their hands. Because Mahomes doesn't look
- 1:25Speaker 2: like he's interception prone at this point of the season.
- 1:28Speaker 4: No, he's not prone, but you know, trends are made
- 1:31Speaker 4: to be broken. And also this Jaguars defense and the
- 1:34Speaker 4: team is eventually gonna have to win without getting three
- 1:36Speaker 4: or four takeaways. I think if you get one before
- 1:39Speaker 4: it's a fumble, and then you get him into a
- 1:40Speaker 4: situation late in the game where they're behind, then like
- 1:43Speaker 4: any quarterback, you start forcing throws. That could be the formula.
- 1:48Speaker 4: I think they need to get one off of him
- 1:50Speaker 4: and turn that into a field position, momentum type situation
- 1:54Speaker 4: and then just play the same kind of defense they've
- 1:56Speaker 4: been doing because they've been a good defense even without
- 1:58Speaker 4: the takeaways.
- 1:59Speaker 1: It's got a big thing Number two, which is gonna
- 2:01Speaker 1: be feeling the pressure. Trayvon Walker had a risk injury
- 2:04Speaker 1: against the forty nine ers. We're still not certain on
- 2:06Speaker 1: his availability going forward, although I'm gonna assume if he
- 2:09Speaker 1: can play, he will play John. But if Trayvon's not
- 2:13Speaker 1: out there, what's this going to look like for the
- 2:14Speaker 1: pass rush?
- 2:15Speaker 4: Well, it's the good news, is they still you know,
- 2:19Speaker 4: I love Trayvon Walker. Right now, Josh Heines Allen is
- 2:23Speaker 4: their best defensive player. He's been incredibly disruptive. His sack
- 2:27Speaker 4: number a half, but that doesn't reflect how disruptive he's been.
- 2:33Speaker 5: They have to get impact from Eric Armstead if.
- 2:36Speaker 4: Trayvon's not in the game, they have to get a
- 2:37Speaker 4: little bit from the other side. And then Josh Heines Allen.
- 2:41Speaker 4: You know, to me, this is his game defensively. And
- 2:44Speaker 4: now what I mean by this is he always talks
- 2:48Speaker 4: every off season he wants to be All Pro. He
- 2:49Speaker 4: wants to be defensive player of the Year. Monday Night
- 2:52Speaker 4: football against Kansas City D.
- 2:54Speaker 3: Watch Spoot's gonna be important.
- 2:56Speaker 2: You're gonna need that veteran presence to keep the edge
- 2:58Speaker 2: because if you're getting from Devon Hamilton and Eric Armstead
- 3:02Speaker 2: like you did last week, and Mason Smith like you've
- 3:04Speaker 2: seen in his limited time on the field, then Mahomes
- 3:07Speaker 2: is going to have to get outside the pocket. Now,
- 3:08Speaker 2: if you saw their game at all against the Ravens
- 3:11Speaker 2: or the Giants. He is so nimble, so able to
- 3:14Speaker 2: work the sideline to his advantage. So the advantage that
- 3:17Speaker 2: you need is a veteran guy, and some moodably become
- 3:20Speaker 2: very important towards trying to keep Mahomes in the pocket.
- 3:23Speaker 1: Sure, not necessarily interception prone, but you can get some
- 3:26Speaker 1: incompletions if you can force them out. So our final
- 3:29Speaker 1: big thing today is going to be primetime because it's
- 3:31Speaker 1: Monday night football coming to town, Bryan. It's their only
- 3:33Speaker 1: timetime matchup of the year. We're not counting on because
- 3:35Speaker 1: that's a little early, but to have a primetime matchup
- 3:38Speaker 1: against a team like the Chiefs is this huge opportunity.
- 3:40Speaker 3: And it sounds like the place is going to be full.
- 3:42Speaker 2: There were a lot of seats a few weeks ago
- 3:44Speaker 2: and there aren't.
- 3:45Speaker 3: Now.
- 3:45Speaker 2: That's what three and one does, That's what a signature
- 3:48Speaker 2: victory over the San Francisco forty nine ers does, and
- 3:51Speaker 2: that's also what Patrick.
- 3:52Speaker 3: Mahomes and the Chiefs do.
- 3:53Speaker 2: If you saw again their game against the Giants, they
- 3:55Speaker 2: put a lot of red in that giant stadium. So
- 3:58Speaker 2: it's going to be a raucous crowd They're used to it.
- 4:01Speaker 2: Kai they play six primetime games this year. They are
- 4:05Speaker 2: absolutely non plussed by the idea of having to play
- 4:09Speaker 2: at eight o'clock at night on a full stage, you know,
- 4:12Speaker 2: with a stadium that's rooting against them. So for the Jaguars,
- 4:15Speaker 2: they've got to harness that energy and use it to
- 4:17Speaker 2: their advantage to play really good, smart football. I don't
- 4:20Speaker 2: have any doubt, John, that they'll come out energized and
- 4:22Speaker 2: ready because as KAI metric, it's their only primetime opportunity.
- 4:26Speaker 5: Yeah, they'll be plussed.
- 4:27Speaker 4: I mean, if the Chiefs are non plussed, the Jags
- 4:29Speaker 4: will be plussed. Look, I don't know if the schedule
- 4:33Speaker 4: makers anticipated this, but you know, you put Kansas City
- 4:36Speaker 4: i'm a football against the Jags, I think probably in
- 4:39Speaker 4: March or May when they're making this. Oh, it's a
- 4:41Speaker 4: good chance to get Mahomes on. The Jags are a
- 4:43Speaker 4: big story and you know, and it's a big opportunity
- 4:46Speaker 4: for them nationally. I don't think many people thought that
- 4:49Speaker 4: the Jags would go into this game with the better record,
- 4:51Speaker 4: with a chance to put Kansas City, you know, in
- 4:53Speaker 4: the race for home field, a chance to put them
- 4:56Speaker 4: to you know, and I'm saying that sort of, you know, smiling.
- 5:01Speaker 4: The Jags are good and this is a chance to
- 5:04Speaker 4: make a statement and to start getting positioning on teams
- 5:09Speaker 4: because I think this team has a chance to get
- 5:12Speaker 4: into that deep conversation in December.
- 5:14Speaker 5: So big game all around.
- 5:15Speaker 2: That you're saying it at all is the story though, John,
- 5:17Speaker 2: I mean, we wouldn't have thought even tongue in cheek
- 5:21Speaker 2: mentioned that you'd be in the race for that first
- 5:23Speaker 2: year with Liam building this thing up. But this is
- 5:26Speaker 2: a golden opportunity for the Jaguars to get one of
- 5:29Speaker 2: those important games when it comes to tiebreakers and things
- 5:31Speaker 2: like that for a wild card.
- 5:33Speaker 3: Or even to win the division. So this is a
- 5:35Speaker 3: really important game in.
- 5:36Speaker 1: Week five playoff implications. Dare I say, am I thinking
- 5:39Speaker 1: too far ahead? Anyway?
- 5:41Speaker 5: Hopefully?
- 5:41Speaker 1: Anyway, we're gonna talk more about Monday Night football, what
- 5:44Speaker 1: we've got coming up the rest of the week here
- 5:45Speaker 1: on jackson Brought to you by Jet Holmelungs. Twelve years,
- 5:53Speaker 1: Dreamfindersmes have been proud to call themselves the official homebuilder
- 5:56Speaker 1: of the Jacksonville Jaguars. Visit dreamfindersomes dot com for all
- 5:58Speaker 1: of the available and go Jags. This oh, this, oh,
- 6:09Speaker 1: welcome back in your jag zam this morning brought to
- 6:10Speaker 1: you by Jet Home Loans. Here in the Hyundai studios,
- 6:12Speaker 1: we are getting ready for Monday night football, which always
- 6:15Speaker 1: feels a little bit different, and it's against a great
- 6:17Speaker 1: team in the Kansas City Chiefs. So when I was
- 6:19Speaker 1: looking at the schedule, I originally thought this first full
- 6:22Speaker 1: slate was probably the toughest section. But again, when you
- 6:26Speaker 1: start at the beginning of the season, you never know
- 6:28Speaker 1: what injuries are going to be like or what teams
- 6:29Speaker 1: are going to be like. Are we amidst the toughest
- 6:32Speaker 1: part of the schedule right now or is it maybe
- 6:35Speaker 1: a little bit later we got some of those far
- 6:37Speaker 1: away West Coast trips.
- 6:39Speaker 3: I think it's right now.
- 6:40Speaker 5: We're heading into it.
- 6:40Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean Kansas City with Mahomes, no matter what
- 6:43Speaker 2: the record is, it's a tough one. But then you've
- 6:46Speaker 2: got Seattle at three and one, who might be the
- 6:47Speaker 2: best team in the in the West, which is the
- 6:50Speaker 2: only division right now in the NFC that has all
- 6:53Speaker 2: every team at five hundred or better. And then you
- 6:55Speaker 2: get the Rams and we know what they are with
- 6:57Speaker 2: Stafford and what they're capable of doing.
- 6:59Speaker 3: You're both three and one right now.
- 7:00Speaker 2: So I mean these three games leading up to the
- 7:02Speaker 2: bye week, they don't make you or break you. They
- 7:05Speaker 2: could make you if you if you find a way
- 7:07Speaker 2: to navigate them successfully. But it's one of those situations
- 7:10Speaker 2: where tough, tough, tough.
- 7:13Speaker 4: Yeah, and look, don't discount what they've just done, meaning
- 7:18Speaker 4: get through the Texans. I don't care if the Texans
- 7:20Speaker 4: are one and whatever. This was a team that you
- 7:23Speaker 4: needed to get through. And they beat an unbeaten forty
- 7:26Speaker 4: nine ers team. So sometimes there's a tendency once you
- 7:28Speaker 4: beat a team. Oh they beat that team. It wasn't
- 7:30Speaker 4: very hard. Going out to San Francisco was big. But
- 7:33Speaker 4: I agree with Brian. When the schedule came out, I
- 7:36Speaker 4: thought the overlooked part by some people was case and
- 7:41Speaker 4: then getting Seattle in the Rams. You know, nobody on
- 7:44Speaker 4: the East Coast thinks about Seattle, but they're always competitive,
- 7:47Speaker 4: they're always good. Most people couldn't name a player, but
- 7:52Speaker 4: they always start stacking them up and so they'll be tough.
- 7:55Speaker 4: And then the Rams. You know what a game in London.
- 7:57Speaker 4: But yes, I think the next three you're three one
- 8:00Speaker 4: now you get out of that, dude, dare I say,
- 8:04Speaker 4: you know, if you can navigate that, and then you
- 8:06Speaker 4: get to the buy after that, you do get a
- 8:10Speaker 4: part of the schedule where objectively you would look at
- 8:13Speaker 4: games and start saying, yeah, they should start taking those off.
- 8:16Speaker 4: That's not how they're thinking, but that's how the schedule
- 8:18Speaker 4: looks from an etective point.
- 8:20Speaker 3: Well, and they've defended the home turf already.
- 8:21Speaker 2: They're two and zero, right, and they've got Kansas City
- 8:23Speaker 2: Seattle here in Jacksonville and then a game that they
- 8:26Speaker 2: feels like a home game at Wembley Stadium in London.
- 8:28Speaker 2: So tough part of the schedule plays to your advantage
- 8:31Speaker 2: because you're unfamiliar turf.
- 8:32Speaker 5: You get two of the next three.
- 8:34Speaker 4: Oh, you're feeling you're in the London and they're thinking
- 8:37Speaker 4: three and oh, and you know, I hope and all that.
- 8:40Speaker 4: But you get two of the next three and go
- 8:41Speaker 4: in five and two. Boy howdy, Yeah, that'll be fun.
- 8:46Speaker 1: Plus we should point out the end of the schedule
- 8:47Speaker 1: a lot of division games. It's back end of this
- 8:50Speaker 1: backload of this year. Titans, the Cults twice and the
- 8:53Speaker 1: Titans twice are all in.
- 8:54Speaker 3: The last five or six.
- 8:55Speaker 1: Yeah, so for the last six so a lot of
- 8:57Speaker 1: ground to be gained there as well later in the season.
- 9:00Speaker 1: So we talked a little bit yesterday about some defensive
- 9:02Speaker 1: players that were here last year, offensive players too that
- 9:06Speaker 1: maybe didn't have their best season, and now we're seeing
- 9:07Speaker 1: a bit of a resurgence. Devin Lloyd certainly one of those.
- 9:10Speaker 1: Eric Armstead as well. When you're looking at improvement compared
- 9:14Speaker 1: to what they were last year, who's most improved to
- 9:16Speaker 1: you is a Devin Lloyd, Armstead or somebody else?
- 9:18Speaker 4: I'd say Devin Lloyd is not close. I mean it's
- 9:21Speaker 4: it's you know, it's not a knock on Armstead. I
- 9:24Speaker 4: I think he's playing well. Devin Lloyd is playing like uh,
- 9:32Speaker 4: the cliche and the storyline has been who can unlock
- 9:35Speaker 4: Devin Lloyd? And I think for most people, uh probably
- 9:38Speaker 4: myself included. Uh, after it didn't happen, I was still
- 9:42Speaker 4: saying if I didn't really believe it was gonna happen,
- 9:44Speaker 4: I don't think anybody did.
- 9:45Speaker 5: Uh. But he's playing. It's not just the interceptions.
- 9:49Speaker 6: Uh.
- 9:49Speaker 5: And he's and he has three he's everywhere.
- 9:51Speaker 4: He's playing at a high, high level. And uh, your
- 9:56Speaker 4: credit to him. I think, and everybody on this couch
- 9:58Speaker 4: has talked to Devin Lloyd. What a nice young man
- 10:02Speaker 4: who works at it, who wants to be good, and
- 10:06Speaker 4: it's fun to see him enjoying this On Sunday.
- 10:09Speaker 2: He was the equal of Fred Warner, right, who many
- 10:11Speaker 2: people think is the best linebacker in the NFC, if
- 10:14Speaker 2: not the entire NFL. So it speaks volumes. Just for
- 10:16Speaker 2: sake of argument, I want to I want to give
- 10:18Speaker 2: you another name.
- 10:18Speaker 3: How about do it?
- 10:20Speaker 2: Who didn't He didn't play a whole lot last year
- 10:22Speaker 2: because of injury. He's playing at the highest level he's
- 10:26Speaker 2: ever played at interceptions, tackles. He's a guy who is
- 10:30Speaker 2: making plays. And I think all of us had some
- 10:32Speaker 2: confidence in him. But did you think he would play
- 10:34Speaker 2: at this level? The safeties were so bad last year
- 10:38Speaker 2: that the standards was low. I get it, But he
- 10:41Speaker 2: is really playing good football.
- 10:43Speaker 5: Run Yeah. I think maybe I'm channeling my inner Dewey,
- 10:47Speaker 5: which we all should do of from time to time.
- 10:50Speaker 4: I think he would tell you he's playing at his
- 10:52Speaker 4: level and he's getting the opportunity.
- 10:53Speaker 5: To do it. But I agree with you. What a.
- 10:58Speaker 4: Cool thing to see and uh and what a year
- 11:01Speaker 4: he's having. But if you walk back there, if you're
- 11:03Speaker 4: up back down there right now, and ask Andrew Andrew
- 11:06Speaker 4: Winger if he's that much better than he has been,
- 11:08Speaker 4: because they know I've been. I mean, it's all along.
- 11:10Speaker 4: I needed my shot and I kind of think maybe
- 11:13Speaker 4: he's right on that. But did you think let's channel
- 11:16Speaker 4: our But did you think it would be this good?
- 11:17Speaker 4: I think that's that he can think it right, he's
- 11:19Speaker 4: supposed to think it. I thought he'd be solid and
- 11:22Speaker 4: maybe he didn't think he'd be creating it. Yeah, this
- 11:25Speaker 4: may turnovers. I trusted and do it because I think
- 11:27Speaker 4: we all should trust in doing and.
- 11:29Speaker 1: Do we we trust? It's not the new saying should
- 11:31Speaker 1: we start a new one?
- 11:34Speaker 5: Coming up?
- 11:34Speaker 1: We're going to talk a little bit about what's going
- 11:36Speaker 1: on elsewhere in the AFC SOUSE. We keep you up
- 11:38Speaker 1: to date on the division. I've been brought to you
- 11:46Speaker 1: by Field Auto Group, Jacksonville's premiere luxury auto group. Go
- 11:48Speaker 1: to Fields Auto dot com and this Monday night football

- 11:54Speaker 1: most of your money at EverBank dot com. Slash Jaguars.
- 11:59Speaker 1: You do not have your tickets for Monday Night Football.
- 12:02Speaker 1: Allow me to highly suggest because the music alone, why
- 12:07Speaker 1: wouldn't you want to be at Monday Night Football in October?
- 12:10Speaker 1: Beautiful weather and two great teams Jags three and one.
- 12:14Speaker 1: I mean, I don't I shouldn't even be pitching this.
- 12:16Speaker 1: You guys should just already know. And I think they're
- 12:17Speaker 1: still tickets available at this point. They imagine by the
- 12:19Speaker 1: weekend I'll be standing room only. So get in there. Call,
- 12:22Speaker 1: you gotta call, make it happen.
- 12:24Speaker 3: That's per game.
- 12:25Speaker 1: Oh and it's a prowler game. Got the throwback Microsoft word? John,
- 12:28Speaker 1: Do you remember this? It's the Microsoft office?
- 12:32Speaker 3: No, the OG.
- 12:33Speaker 1: Did you have a You must have been a dial
- 12:35Speaker 1: up guy, now that I'm thinking about this, well, when
- 12:38Speaker 1: the Internet and the interwebs came.
- 12:39Speaker 4: Out, the InterWave came out, I I was. I was
- 12:42Speaker 4: an America Online dial up guy at compu Serve too.
- 12:47Speaker 3: I had AOL though, yeah, didn't.
- 12:49Speaker 1: We all let's talk a little bit AFC South because
- 12:52Speaker 1: we want to keep track on everybody in the division
- 12:54Speaker 1: and see what they're up to. The Texans got their
- 12:56Speaker 1: first win of the year. Titans fall two oh and
- 12:59Speaker 1: f war. That's a tough situation in Nashville right now.
- 13:03Speaker 1: Don't mean to laugh, but I think even cam Ward
- 13:05Speaker 1: said it out loud. I'm not gonna repeat him exactly,
- 13:08Speaker 1: but he said they're not good right now, and the
- 13:10Speaker 1: situation doesn't look like there's much upside.
- 13:12Speaker 2: No a rookie quarterback, a coach who's under fire right now.
- 13:15Speaker 2: Things do not look good there. And I don't think
- 13:17Speaker 2: that they expected them to look great. They you know,
- 13:20Speaker 2: they're rebuilding. The Texans, however, needed to win je On
- 13:24Speaker 2: in the worst way. I think they've got a couple
- 13:26Speaker 2: of fundamental problems that they're gonna have a hard time,
- 13:29Speaker 2: you know, looking like they did last year. They don't
- 13:31Speaker 2: have the big running back, Joe Mixon, and that puts
- 13:35Speaker 2: a lot of pressure on the quarterback and that offensive
- 13:37Speaker 2: on you know, they traded Cam Robinson this week to
- 13:40Speaker 2: the Cleveland Brown, so they're going with that rookie who
- 13:43Speaker 2: Josh Heinz Allen turned inside out and upside down. It
- 13:47Speaker 2: looks like the Texans are going to struggle for most
- 13:49Speaker 2: of this season as well.
- 13:51Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm not ready to think they're going to struggle
- 13:55Speaker 4: in terms of wins yet, because it does feel I mean,
- 13:59Speaker 4: and they're proud France. I expect them to get a
- 14:01Speaker 4: run and get back into it. I'm kind of with you, Brian.
- 14:04Speaker 4: I wonder if the way their offensive line, the offense
- 14:07Speaker 4: is playing, if they can turn that run. You know,
- 14:10Speaker 4: first they have to make a run to get back
- 14:11Speaker 4: into it, and then can you sustain that. I think
- 14:14Speaker 4: that will be difficult for them, but you know, don't
- 14:18Speaker 4: count them out until they're out. But they do seem
- 14:21Speaker 4: to have some structural issues they're gonna be hard to
- 14:23Speaker 4: fix in.
- 14:23Speaker 5: The offensive line.
- 14:24Speaker 2: And you know, they bring in Nick Chubb, but who again,
- 14:26Speaker 2: is a former AFC North running back who plays with power,
- 14:29Speaker 2: but he doesn't. Joe Mixon came in there and gave
- 14:32Speaker 2: that quarterback a big lift last year. And we don't
- 14:35Speaker 2: know anything about where Joe Mixon is in terms of
- 14:37Speaker 2: his rehab. So I think that's a big question mark
- 14:40Speaker 2: for them. Their defense is good enough. Yeah, if they
- 14:43Speaker 2: stay healthy on that side of the ball, they can
- 14:45Speaker 2: make some noise. But I do think that that lack
- 14:47Speaker 2: of running game and an offensive line that hasn't gotten
- 14:50Speaker 2: a whole lot better from where it was last year
- 14:53Speaker 2: is going to be a nagging problem for them.
- 14:54Speaker 4: They feel like they're going to have to win all
- 14:56Speaker 4: games or most games the way the Jaguars have won
- 15:00Speaker 4: last two, meaning it's gonna be scratch. You're not gonna
- 15:03Speaker 4: play Tennessee every week at Tennessee struggling. So I think
- 15:07Speaker 4: that will be their storyline in Tennessee. Look, we've been
- 15:10Speaker 4: through it. Sometimes when you draft that rookie quarterback and
- 15:14Speaker 4: you play them immediately the early part of the season,
- 15:18Speaker 4: you get this sort of thing, and you know, I
- 15:22Speaker 4: don't you always say you wouldn't wish that in your
- 15:24Speaker 4: worst enemy.
- 15:25Speaker 5: I think a lot of.
- 15:25Speaker 3: Fans were probably not franchise.
- 15:27Speaker 5: They don't feel so white as a bad Yeah, but
- 15:30Speaker 5: you know, again, that doesn't last forever.
- 15:31Speaker 4: And usually teams that start off like this they do
- 15:34Speaker 4: hit a run second half of the season when the
- 15:36Speaker 4: Jaguars get them.
- 15:37Speaker 5: So you know, they're.
- 15:39Speaker 4: Probably gonna make the playoffs, but it'll be interesting to
- 15:41Speaker 4: see how they develop from here.
- 15:42Speaker 1: Let's look to the Colts. They lost their first game,
- 15:44Speaker 1: so now the Colts, they're still first place in the division,
- 15:47Speaker 1: I think because of tiebreakers, but three and one, as
- 15:49Speaker 1: well as the Jaguars losing to the Rams, who is
- 15:51Speaker 1: another team we're gonna face off against. But coming back
- 15:54Speaker 1: down to earth a little bit for Daniel Jones, but
- 15:57Speaker 1: they're talented and I feel like what we've seen from
- 16:01Speaker 1: Daniel Jones, is it something that will progress throughout the
- 16:04Speaker 1: season or is it a little bit People haven't seen
- 16:07Speaker 1: him in a while and there's a lot of weapons
- 16:08Speaker 1: in Indianapolis. Like you know, when the film gets out,
- 16:10Speaker 1: is it gonna be a little bit different going forward?
- 16:12Speaker 5: I think it'll be different.
- 16:15Speaker 4: Anytime you have a quarterback with a hot start with
- 16:17Speaker 4: no film on him.
- 16:19Speaker 5: It's like in baseball.
- 16:20Speaker 4: Once you get through that, you know the first part
- 16:22Speaker 4: of the lineup, people learn how to pitch you. The
- 16:25Speaker 4: same thing with quarterbacks, so there's an element of that.
- 16:28Speaker 4: I think he's good enough and experienced enough to come
- 16:31Speaker 4: out of that.
- 16:32Speaker 5: I don't expect him.
- 16:33Speaker 4: To be elite, top four guy, but it does feel
- 16:37Speaker 4: they're three and one and he's playing solidly. If they
- 16:41Speaker 4: get solid quarterback play, I'd be surprised if the Jaguars
- 16:47Speaker 4: and Colts aren't playing meaningful games in December.
- 16:50Speaker 5: Those two games could be fun.
- 16:51Speaker 2: But yeah, without a doubt, as long as Jonathan Taylor
- 16:54Speaker 2: stays healthy, he has a chance to play consistent football,
- 16:57Speaker 2: and there are some weapons there. Now, give them credit.
- 17:01Speaker 2: They should have won this ball game. If Mitchell the
- 17:03Speaker 2: young receiver does it flocked the ball before he crosses
- 17:06Speaker 2: the goal line, maybe they win that game. In LA
- 17:09Speaker 2: And you're talking about a four and oh team that's
- 17:11Speaker 2: at you at the top of everyone's list as not
- 17:14Speaker 2: just a surprise, but a really good team. The Colts
- 17:16Speaker 2: have had some talent. The inability to have consistent quarterback
- 17:20Speaker 2: play has killed them. I think Jonathan Taylor's second best
- 17:23Speaker 2: running back in the league, maybe the third.
- 17:25Speaker 3: He is really freaking good.
- 17:27Speaker 2: And if he stays healthy and can avoid the ankle
- 17:29Speaker 2: foot injury, Daniel Jones is not going to have to
- 17:32Speaker 2: do everything. And I think if you talk to people
- 17:34Speaker 2: who know Daniel Jones, that's the key. If you need
- 17:36Speaker 2: him to do everything, you're you're gonna be disappointed.
- 17:39Speaker 4: Yeah, attentioning both these teams, it could and probably should
- 17:44Speaker 4: be four and oh, four and oh on top of
- 17:46Speaker 4: the AFC South when everybody thought.
- 17:47Speaker 5: It was a weak division. So beware of preseason story odds.
- 17:52Speaker 1: Nice place to be and definitely a team to keep
- 17:53Speaker 1: an eye on. In the Colts say, well, let's we'll
- 17:55Speaker 1: tell you what's coming up. The rest of the week

- 18:11Speaker 6: Parker backs up, fields it at the fifteen yard line.
- 18:16Speaker 6: Made a man missed twenty five year thirty yard line,
- 18:17Speaker 6: that's good or turn of Parker water still at three
- 18:19Speaker 6: fifty forty thirty twenty fifteen to ten bute touchdown. Parker
- 18:28Speaker 6: Washington just brought it all the way back.
- 18:33Speaker 1: Washington miked up against the forty nine ers and he
- 18:35Speaker 1: got a kick return for a touchdown.
- 18:37Speaker 2: A little celebration sounded like, you said, Sparker Washington, like
- 18:39Speaker 2: he's a spark.
- 18:40Speaker 5: The spark plug he was on teaday. Well, credit to Parker,
- 18:44Speaker 5: but how well was that blocked? By? What I mean?
- 18:47Speaker 4: I mean, you know, usually on punt returns this is
- 18:52Speaker 4: historically you know, uh, the parnetary gets a lot of credit.
- 18:56Speaker 4: But the really good special teams units are the ones
- 19:00Speaker 4: that can block on punt and has some four core
- 19:03Speaker 4: guys who can block.
- 19:04Speaker 5: And it looked like they blocked that one great.
- 19:06Speaker 3: And God give him credit.
- 19:07Speaker 2: He had a tough day against the Texans with a
- 19:08Speaker 2: couple of drops and he was under scrutiny all week.
- 19:11Speaker 2: People were pointing that out and to rebound with a
- 19:13Speaker 2: play like that when the team needed it most.
- 19:15Speaker 3: Congratulations to Parker.
- 19:16Speaker 5: Came back big. We love it.
- 19:18Speaker 1: A little bit of a different week. Players are off
- 19:20Speaker 1: today is Wednesday, so we're pushing things out a little bit.
- 19:23Speaker 1: And you anybody you guys are talking to this week,
- 19:25Speaker 1: you're looking forward to speaking with.
- 19:26Speaker 2: I'm going to talk to the linebackers coach about Devin
- 19:28Speaker 2: Lloyd this week. Absolutely, I think he'll have a lot
- 19:31Speaker 2: of insight because when you see sounds of the game
- 19:34Speaker 2: and a lot of the behind the scenes stuff and
- 19:36Speaker 2: you see the interaction.
- 19:38Speaker 3: Lloyd is a cerebral player.
- 19:41Speaker 2: People didn't give him credit for that, but he is
- 19:44Speaker 2: always seeking what did I do right?
- 19:45Speaker 3: What did I do wrong? I can't wait to talk
- 19:47Speaker 3: to the linebacker's coach.
- 19:49Speaker 5: Yeah, I'm talking to Travis DTN and the ozone podcast.
- 19:52Speaker 5: I've talked to a new after.
- 19:53Speaker 4: Practice and look, anybody in the community who's met Travis.
- 19:59Speaker 5: You guys both know Travis.
- 20:02Speaker 4: It has been fun to see him grow over three
- 20:05Speaker 4: or four years as a player. As a person, I've
- 20:09Speaker 4: always liked his perspective and his professionalism and something forward
- 20:12Speaker 4: to talking to him.
- 20:13Speaker 3: He always has a smile on his face.
- 20:15Speaker 2: Even if he really doesn't want to talk to you
- 20:16Speaker 2: in the locker room, he'll smile and stand there and
- 20:18Speaker 2: do it.
- 20:19Speaker 3: He's a true pro, he's absolute pro.
- 20:21Speaker 1: I am talking to John's favorite person, dewey or off
- 20:24Speaker 1: the field. So if any fans have questions, send in
- 20:26Speaker 1: my way. Let's do what's up because he's having a
- 20:29Speaker 1: great season so far. We will be back on Jags
- 20:31Speaker 1: Am on Thursday morning to preview that Monday night football
- 20:34Speaker 1: matchup with the Chiefs. We'll see them
