- 0:16Speaker 2: A Mount Long Anduek business has created undersea drones that
- 0:20Speaker 2: could help protect seafloor cables from sabotage. Bay Dynamics, which
- 0:24Speaker 2: makes the drones, is just being acquired by another drone
- 0:26Speaker 2: business called Sios Aerospace, and SCIOs is chief executive Sam
- 0:29Speaker 2: Via is with us. Now, Hey Sam, hey, hey, they
- 0:33Speaker 2: hate him very well, thank you. So are you actually
- 0:35Speaker 2: going to use these drones to monitor what's going on
- 0:37Speaker 2: with the cables under the sea?
- 0:40Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 0:41Speaker 3: So well, I mean that's obviously one application to it,
- 0:43Speaker 3: but certainly a very important application which we're seeing, you know,
- 0:49Speaker 3: a big global demand for right now.
- 0:50Speaker 2: Why what are we worried about? We are we genuinely
- 0:53Speaker 2: worried that sabotage is part of the grab bag of
- 0:56Speaker 2: things people might do to us.
- 0:57Speaker 3: Now, obviously, our market's global, not just New Zealand, and certainly,
- 1:04Speaker 3: you know, anyone watching the news in Europe sees will
- 1:09Speaker 3: will see the potential sabotage and the and the nervousness
- 1:14Speaker 3: around the particularly in the EU, around potential sabotage by
- 1:20Speaker 3: hostile vessels or or potentially vessels from from some certain
- 1:25Speaker 3: countries that might accidentally drag, anchor or intentionally disrupt sea
- 1:31Speaker 3: for infrastructure.
- 1:33Speaker 2: So who are you selling to?
- 1:36Speaker 3: H Yeah, So SIUs is a developer and manufacturer of
- 1:41Speaker 3: uncrewed vehicles or drones and robotics across both defense and
- 1:46Speaker 3: the civil sector. Predominantly are our customers. We have a
- 1:51Speaker 3: number of customers in Europe and you know, obviously we're
- 1:55Speaker 3: a New Zealand company, so we're now setting up on
- 1:58Speaker 3: New Zealand production facility to also offer the the same
- 2:02Speaker 3: products to the APAC region. And now obviously this acquisition
- 2:06Speaker 3: of a Dynamics adds another to our bow by being
- 2:10Speaker 3: able to offer our customers also with subsurface vehicles.
- 2:15Speaker 1: Sam.
- 2:15Speaker 2: Thanks, it's fascinating stuff. Man, beast of luck with the business.
- 2:18Speaker 2: It's Samviai SSIOS Aerospace Chief executive.
