- 0:00Carmen Lezeth: Wait, let me back up.
- 0:00Carmen Lezeth: Hi everyone, welcome to All About the Joy.
- 0:02Carmen Lezeth: This is Cynthia Ruiz Lopez and this is Rick Costa.
- 0:07Carmen Lezeth: This is a show we do every week on Thursday night, 6 pm Pacific, 9 pm Eastern.
- 0:14Carmen Lezeth: The reason why I'm being a little weird is because I think we're live on TikTok right now, and this would be our first time being on TikTok.
- 0:21Carmen Lezeth: How are you guys doing?
- 0:23Carmen Lezeth: How are you Good?
- 0:24Carmen Lezeth: Why are you guys doing?
- 0:25Carmen Lezeth: How are you?
- 0:26Carmen Lezeth: Why are you giggling?
- 0:27Carmen Lezeth: Hey Melanie?
- 0:28Carmen Lezeth: How are you?
- 0:29Carmen Lezeth: Hey Mel, why are you giggling?
- 0:33Cynthia Ruiz Lopez: Because if I don't laugh, I will cry.
- 0:36Cynthia Ruiz Lopez: It's been one hell of a week.
- 0:44Carmen Lezeth: Okay, girl, what's going on?
- 0:45Carmen Lezeth: What happened?
- 0:45Cynthia Ruiz Lopez: to you this week.
- 0:45Cynthia Ruiz Lopez: Go ahead, what happened?
- 0:46Cynthia Ruiz Lopez: My coworker man is just driving me crazy.
- 0:48Cynthia Ruiz Lopez: Just complains about everything and does nothing.
- 0:57Carmen Lezeth: No, but you posted on Facebook.
- 0:58Carmen Lezeth: Today she ain't on your Facebook page.
- 0:59Carmen Lezeth: You posted something and I was like that's her coworker.
- 1:01Carmen Lezeth: You wrote something she needs a muzzle.
- 1:02Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, you said, can humans have a muzzle?
- 1:05Carmen Lezeth: I was like Cynthia's rare today, so what'd she do?
- 1:10Cynthia Ruiz Lopez: Like I said, so the past couple of days we haven't had too many cases come in to work on, but there's other stuff to do in the office and she, literally she's been there a lot longer than I have.
- 1:24Carmen Lezeth: Why don't you tell everyone what it is that you do, in case we have any new viewers?
- 1:29Cynthia Ruiz Lopez: So I work in pathology and I work with a doctor who deals with sarcoma cases, so I basically prep all his slides and things like that for him.
- 1:39Cynthia Ruiz Lopez: So there's always stuff to do, there's always cases.
- 1:42Carmen Lezeth: Your goal is to work with more dead people.
- 1:45Carmen Lezeth: I got you.
- 1:45Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, Melanie just said wait a month before you get too invested in TikTok.
- 1:52Rick Costa: I don't know what that means Because of the TikTok possible ban thing, whatever.
- 1:56Carmen Lezeth: No, the Supreme Court's going to hear it.
- 1:58Carmen Lezeth: Melanie, I've been invested in TikTok since it was musically.
- 2:02Carmen Lezeth: I've been a TikTok person since it was all just dancing.
- 2:06Carmen Lezeth: So I'm not like I'm not investing more, it's just we've never been able to go live and we've never.
- 2:12Carmen Lezeth: I don't do lives on there, but thank you for the heads up.
- 2:15Carmen Lezeth: But the Supreme court has agreed to hear the case and they're going to listen to it on January 10th, which is quite fascinating.
- 2:22Carmen Lezeth: When they want to go fast, they go fast, but who knows how it's going to end up.
- 2:27Carmen Lezeth: I think it'll be bad for us if they end TikTok, but we'll see how it goes.
- 2:32Carmen Lezeth: We're going to move on.
- 2:33Carmen Lezeth: Go ahead, cynthia.
- 2:34Carmen Lezeth: You're a horrible co-worker from hell.
- 2:37Cynthia Ruiz Lopez: Yeah, Yesterday I snapped at her because she says in front of the doctor oh, we have no cases today, what are we going to do?
- 2:45Cynthia Ruiz Lopez: And I'm like looking at her do other stuff, I'm like, are you really asking me and not just busy doing his stuff in his office?
- 2:53Cynthia Ruiz Lopez: But I know he can hear and she's here more organized than I am.
- 2:58Cynthia Ruiz Lopez: Well, there's other jobs we need to do.
- 3:04Carmen Lezeth: So let's do that.
- 3:05Carmen Lezeth: So I'm so.
- 3:05Carmen Lezeth: I'm confused, though, like why doesn't?
- 3:07Carmen Lezeth: Is she testing you?
- 3:08Cynthia Ruiz Lopez: I'm confused I don't know.
- 3:10Cynthia Ruiz Lopez: I think her age.
- 3:11Cynthia Ruiz Lopez: I think she's going, I don't know rick, I just changed the focus.
- 3:16Carmen Lezeth: Does it change on tiktok what it looks like does?
- 3:18Carmen Lezeth: That look better on tiktok yeah, it's bigger yeah it gives you more options.
- 3:23Carmen Lezeth: I'm sorry, I just noticed when you were talking, a little thing went over and said change dimension, or something.
- 3:28Carmen Lezeth: I'm like okay, it's like let me work my technical magic in the background.
- 3:34Carmen Lezeth: Okay, I'm pretending to listen.
- 3:36Carmen Lezeth: I'm like mm-hmm, so she's, but isn't she going to retire?
- 3:42Carmen Lezeth: Didn't we have this conversation Not?
- 3:43Cynthia Ruiz Lopez: anytime soon, unfortunately, but is there?
- 3:48Carmen Lezeth: anybody else in the office?
- 3:50Cynthia Ruiz Lopez: is it just the two of?
- 3:50Cynthia Ruiz Lopez: You okay, that's why you losing it, that's why you yeah so you know, earbuds go in, music goes on and I do what I gotta do what is her reasoning?
- 4:03Carmen Lezeth: is she trying to get you in trouble or something Is she trying to like?
- 4:07Cynthia Ruiz Lopez: It seems like that because it seems like she's been there for so long, so she knows everything, but tries to act like she doesn't and tries to like test, you know, to see if I'll do it, or so I'm not playing her game.
- 4:23Carmen Lezeth: Rick, isn't this one of your people?
- 4:25Rick Costa: Yeah, but this is not a religious broadcast.
- 4:28Rick Costa: Lj.
- 4:31Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, lj, this is absolutely not a religious broadcast and I get vile sometimes if you get me upset no, I would not, but just be kind and lovely because this is a beautiful space and we want to keep it that way.
- 4:43Carmen Lezeth: So welcome, we're glad you're here.
- 4:45Carmen Lezeth: What does one day at a time request mean?
- 4:49Rick Costa: It's a song.
- 4:49Rick Costa: One day at a time, it's a song.
- 4:51Carmen Lezeth: Oh, okay, One day at a time is also something they say in AA all the time.
- 4:55Carmen Lezeth: I was thinking that was like hey, Charlie.
- 4:58Carmen Lezeth: Charlie, how are you In the hole she goes?
- 5:04Carmen Lezeth: I don't even know what that means, charlie.
- 5:11Carmen Lezeth: What are you talking about?
- 5:14Carmen Lezeth: What is about her co-worker?
- 5:15Carmen Lezeth: Is this about her co-worker?
- 5:16Carmen Lezeth: Like?
- 5:16Carmen Lezeth: What is he talking about?
- 5:19Rick Costa: I'm like, I'm so confused I would never say oh, what are we gonna do?
- 5:24Rick Costa: No, baby, look busy, I think she's trying to test you, though.
- 5:29Carmen Lezeth: I mean, is she?
- 5:29Carmen Lezeth: That's what I don't understand.
- 5:31Carmen Lezeth: What is her purpose?
- 5:31Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, I have no idea, especially if the doctor can hear you.
- 5:36Carmen Lezeth: Oh, whoever is the problem?
- 5:39Carmen Lezeth: Okay, they go, that's right, charlie.
- 5:42Carmen Lezeth: Um, she's been there for a long time.
- 5:46Carmen Lezeth: I'm trying to figure out.
- 5:47Carmen Lezeth: The doctor can hear you.
- 5:48Carmen Lezeth: It's not like he's in another room or something.
- 5:50Carmen Lezeth: Why is she?
- 5:52Carmen Lezeth: You know what I mean, like why is she doing this on a regular basis?
- 5:56Cynthia Ruiz Lopez: I don't know.
- 5:56Cynthia Ruiz Lopez: I honestly don't know, and you can tell, even the doctor gets annoyed with her sometimes melanie.
- 6:01Carmen Lezeth: Melanie, you're so right.
- 6:03Carmen Lezeth: One day at a time is an old TV show too.
- 6:05Carmen Lezeth: That's absolutely correct.
- 6:07Carmen Lezeth: They did a remake too.
- 6:07Carmen Lezeth: Did they do a remake?
- 6:09Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, I don't think it went well.
- 6:11Carmen Lezeth: It was like with Rita Moreno too.
- 6:13Carmen Lezeth: It was like with the whole Latino cast.
- 6:15Rick Costa: Oh, I loved them.
- 6:16Rick Costa: Valerie Bertinelli right.
- 6:19Carmen Lezeth: That was the original right.
- 6:20Rick Costa: Yeah, I thought she was fine, right?
- 6:22Rick Costa: Yeah, I thought she was fine.
- 6:24Carmen Lezeth: Here's the thing we were going to talk about today.
- 6:26Carmen Lezeth: You guys know very well that I've been asking you both to watch different shows, so let's back this up.
- 6:35Carmen Lezeth: Let's back this up.
- 6:36Carmen Lezeth: I am a proponent of never talk about something you've never seen, right?
- 6:40Carmen Lezeth: Y'all know I hated a certain professor at the University of Vermont where I went to college.
- 6:46Carmen Lezeth: Hated him, but the one thing I have to give him credit for.
- 6:49Carmen Lezeth: He said never talk about a movie you've never seen.
- 6:53Carmen Lezeth: I don't care what you think you know, never do it, because you're always going to look like an idiot.
- 6:57Carmen Lezeth: And you know what.
- 6:58Carmen Lezeth: I have taken that and have done that in my entire life.
- 7:01Carmen Lezeth: Because it's true, don't talk about a book've not read.
- 7:03Carmen Lezeth: If you don't know something, don't talk about it, just don't all right.
- 7:06Carmen Lezeth: And when you guys ask me to watch something, as long as it's within my genre, I'm open to it.
- 7:12Carmen Lezeth: But the two of you are like, no, I ain't gonna watch stargate, as you want, I don't know if I can wait and then you 9-1-1.
- 7:23Carmen Lezeth: Oh, don't even try to be all innocent over here, baby, because you were like 9-1-1.
- 7:24Carmen Lezeth: Oh, don't even try to be all innocent over here, baby, because you were like 9-1-1 firemen.
- 7:28Carmen Lezeth: So I requested that two people please watch each other's show so we could have a conversation about it.
- 7:35Carmen Lezeth: Is that fair?
- 7:36Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, all right, cynthia, let's start with you.
- 7:39Carmen Lezeth: You watched stargate, sg1 and rick and I huge fans.
- 7:43Carmen Lezeth: What did you watch?
- 7:45Carmen Lezeth: Did you watch both first episodes or I just watched the first?
- 7:49Cynthia Ruiz Lopez: episode right now Of the pilot yeah, the pilot.
- 7:51Cynthia Ruiz Lopez: So I was a little lost at the beginning because I felt like I had to keep checking.
- 7:59Cynthia Ruiz Lopez: I was like, did I start in episode two?
- 8:01Cynthia Ruiz Lopez: What did I miss?
- 8:02Cynthia Ruiz Lopez: Because they like already started talking about the Stargate and it was already there and I was like wait, is there something before this that I'm supposed to watch?
- 8:11Cynthia Ruiz Lopez: Yeah, you're overthinking it.
- 8:13Carmen Lezeth: Overthinking it, I know.
- 8:15Cynthia Ruiz Lopez: So then when they started talking about how he wrote something and it was a lie, and I was like, oh, okay, now I get it.
- 8:21Cynthia Ruiz Lopez: Wait what?
- 8:23Cynthia Ruiz Lopez: Who wrote what?
- 8:24Cynthia Ruiz Lopez: I don't know the character's name, but the main guy.
- 8:28Carmen Lezeth: The hot main guy Richard Dean Anderson, who plays Colonel Jack O'Neill.
- 8:31Carmen Lezeth: Okay, he did what he said.
- 8:34Carmen Lezeth: Who wrote?
- 8:35Cynthia Ruiz Lopez: a lie.
- 8:35Cynthia Ruiz Lopez: No, they said that he wrote something, but he didn't put the full truth about what he found.
- 8:42Rick Costa: Oh, the report.
- 8:43Rick Costa: Yes, he lied about what they did in the movie.
- 8:46Rick Costa: He said that, oh yeah, we used the bomb to wipe out everything, but it was a lie.
- 8:52Carmen Lezeth: No, no, this is the beginning, okay, right, right, I'm so sorry, I'm confusion.
- 8:55Carmen Lezeth: Okay, go ahead, go ahead.
- 8:58Cynthia Ruiz Lopez: So when they started talking about that I kind of figured okay, now I get it.
- 9:01Cynthia Ruiz Lopez: So as I'm watching it, I was like I'm getting into it and of course the graphics is definitely 1990s graphics, so of course I'm creating that she texted me and I'm like this was 1997.
- 9:13Carmen Lezeth: I don't know what she thought I said, macgyver, I know, I know.
- 9:19Cynthia Ruiz Lopez: Go ahead, I started getting into it and I was just like, and then I got to the end and I was like, okay, this is why she wants me to watch the second episode, because it left you in a cliffhanger with one of the guys military guys getting struck with that little alien thing so now it's an.
- 9:39Carmen Lezeth: M the little alien thing, the guauld, which is the symbiote.
- 9:45Carmen Lezeth: Come on, rick, don't make me look stupid here.
- 9:50Rick Costa: That little hideous snake.
- 9:53Carmen Lezeth: Which is so funny, because I watched the pilot again.
- 9:56Carmen Lezeth: Rick did too.
- 9:56Carmen Lezeth: We both watched it again and it was so funny.
- 9:59Carmen Lezeth: I'm like I don't think we see the snake that much ever again, you know, except when it comes out of Teal's body and stuff once in a while, but we don't really.
- 10:06Carmen Lezeth: They really were graphic in the beginning of it with that.
- 10:10Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, anyways, go ahead.
- 10:11Carmen Lezeth: Okay, so you go ahead.
- 10:13Cynthia Ruiz Lopez: I I will continue to watch it.
- 10:17Cynthia Ruiz Lopez: I will.
- 10:17Cynthia Ruiz Lopez: Yeah, it was a little interesting, okay.
- 10:23Cynthia Ruiz Lopez: I gotta say, though I'm not a truckie, you know that I love star wars, but this was not the sci-fi and it was a little more interesting in this than I would say in star trek, because it's more your flavor, yeah, your flavor action, and you know stuff like that.
- 10:41Carmen Lezeth: So and it's more there, more evil in it, which you seem to like, and more darkness yeah.
- 10:47Rick Costa: It's sci-fi, but in present time instead of way in the future.
- 10:51Cynthia Ruiz Lopez: Right, exactly yeah.
- 10:52Carmen Lezeth: Okay, so you're not against it.
- 10:55Carmen Lezeth: You're going to watch the second episode.
- 10:57Carmen Lezeth: Well, I should have said you should watch the first two episodes.
- 11:00Carmen Lezeth: I forgot that the pilot is actually two episodes.
- 11:03Carmen Lezeth: No-transcript, although it's always a forest in Canada, and then everybody speaks English.
- 11:33Carmen Lezeth: All the aliens speak English.
- 11:35Carmen Lezeth: Oh, melanie, stargate SG-1.
- 11:41Carmen Lezeth: You'd have to Google it and find out.
- 11:42Carmen Lezeth: It should be free.
- 11:44Cynthia Ruiz Lopez: It's on Hulu.
- 11:46Cynthia Ruiz Lopez: Is that on Pluto?
- 11:47Carmen Lezeth: Yes, it's on Pluto, it's on Pluto because Hulu's not free.
- 11:51Carmen Lezeth: Okay, so you liked it, Did you like?
- 11:54Carmen Lezeth: Okay, I thought you might enjoy the scene where they're at the conference room and he first meets Sam and she's.
- 12:00Carmen Lezeth: My organs are on the inside, not on the outside.
- 12:03Carmen Lezeth: Oh, I love that part and she's my organs are on the inside, not on the outside.
- 12:06Carmen Lezeth: She's like she has to fight with them.
- 12:07Carmen Lezeth: You know so.
- 12:08Carmen Lezeth: But, cynthia, I'm so glad you watched it and I hope you do watch it, because I think it's really good and you're gonna know right away the episodes I like versus the episodes I think you and Rick would like, the ones that are more horrific, dealing with the guauld.
- 12:20Carmen Lezeth: The guauld are the ones whose eyes glow.
- 12:23Carmen Lezeth: Those are the gods.
- 12:25Carmen Lezeth: They, they're gods, and it's really interesting because they turn around and they do these analogies right with religion and whether you believe in God or not, it's interesting.
- 12:36Carmen Lezeth: What, hey, mario?
- 12:38Cynthia Ruiz Lopez: Hey, mario, it's funny because as I was watching it, I kept referencing it to other movies and shows, like with the portal.
- 12:46Cynthia Ruiz Lopez: It kind of reminded me of the movie Thor, how they had that portal Right.
- 12:52Cynthia Ruiz Lopez: Yeah, yeah, yeah, oh yeah.
- 12:53Cynthia Ruiz Lopez: The creature coming out of the belly reminded me of the movie Aliens, when they're at the diner and the thing's coming out the stomach.
- 13:00Cynthia Ruiz Lopez: So I kept referencing other movies and shows.
- 13:03Cynthia Ruiz Lopez: So it was kind of cool.
- 13:05Carmen Lezeth: Well, I mean, I think that's the thing about sci-fi, though.
- 13:07Carmen Lezeth: Right, look at 2001 Space Odyssey.
- 13:09Carmen Lezeth: That's all I need to say.
- 13:09Carmen Lezeth: I know you've never seen that movie, but if you saw that movie you would see where the template comes.
- 13:14Carmen Lezeth: It's like the Shakespeare, right, we have Shakespeare as a template for a lot of stories.
- 13:18Carmen Lezeth: There's like 2001 Space Odyssey feels like you know.
- 13:21Carmen Lezeth: So once you see that movie, you start to realize oh, you know, mario, I haven't sent you an email because I know, first of all, the times I do, you don't respond.
- 13:31Carmen Lezeth: And then I know, based on some of the things that I've been hearing and seeing, I don't want to put pressure on you.
- 13:38Carmen Lezeth: If you want to come on this show, you need to just let me know.
- 13:42Carmen Lezeth: That's how I do it with Joy.
- 13:43Carmen Lezeth: That's how I do it with everybody.
- 13:45Carmen Lezeth: I'm not sending out emails to everyone expecting you to be on the show and then you don't show up.
- 13:50Carmen Lezeth: So if that's what that meant, right there, I'm trying not to pressure you.
- 13:56Carmen Lezeth: That's all.
- 13:56Carmen Lezeth: That's all that's about.
- 13:58Carmen Lezeth: The only people who are forced to be on the show regularly, forced to be on the show regularly are not even the show regularly, are not even here today.
- 14:09Rick Costa: No, I'm just you know what I thought was funny too was the this is talking about samantha again the guy they were like trying to test her, whatever is.
- 14:18Rick Costa: Have you ever done this?
- 14:19Rick Costa: Whatever crazy move in an airplane.
- 14:21Carmen Lezeth: And she said yes yeah, she's like I won't be.
- 14:24Carmen Lezeth: Like what else have you ever done?
- 14:27Carmen Lezeth: A g4 somersault on the back, flip a blah, blah, blah, blah and go down there and she's yes, it was so good, it was perfect.
- 14:34Carmen Lezeth: I knew you would like that.
- 14:36Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, and the thing that's really cool this is just a little.
- 14:40Carmen Lezeth: I probably I don't think I'm, it's not a spoiler or whatever you can clearly tell that Colonel Jack O'Neill and Samantha Carter.
- 14:48Carmen Lezeth: There's going to be something between them.
- 14:49Carmen Lezeth: But let me tell you, it takes like nine seasons before it's great though.
- 14:55Carmen Lezeth: It's like great tension.
- 14:57Carmen Lezeth: You know what I mean.
- 14:58Carmen Lezeth: But they because of their professionalism what is it?
- 15:01Carmen Lezeth: Their professional?
- 15:02Carmen Lezeth: Because they're in the military.
- 15:04Carmen Lezeth: They can never get together and they never do right.
- 15:07Carmen Lezeth: Well, wink, wink, but they don't.
- 15:09Carmen Lezeth: But they have all these crazy stories of like dream sequences and they wake up on a different planet.
- 15:15Carmen Lezeth: They don't know who they are and then they still hang out together, but they don't know if they were together together.
- 15:22Carmen Lezeth: You know which episode I'm talking about, rick.
- 15:24Rick Costa: There's alternate timeline ones.
- 15:26Rick Costa: It's so well done.
- 15:29Rick Costa: There's a whole bunch of timelines coming.
- 15:33Rick Costa: One Wait, they thought of everything.
- 15:36Carmen Lezeth: It's so well done.
- 15:37Carmen Lezeth: Melanie just said the only forced ones are the ones we currently see.
- 15:42Carmen Lezeth: That's right, that's how it works.
- 15:44Carmen Lezeth: Melanie, you're forced on here to make sure you comment.
- 15:48Carmen Lezeth: Don't even try to comment, you're forced here.
- 15:51Carmen Lezeth: Number one fan, rick, went out of his way after bashing the whole fireman thing.
- 15:59Carmen Lezeth: Whoa, you were always bashing us because you thought we were only watching.
- 16:03Carmen Lezeth: I was slightly mocking because you thought we were only watching.
- 16:05Rick Costa: I was slightly mocking, because I make them up a lot.
- 16:09Carmen Lezeth: Oh, okay, semantics.
- 16:11Carmen Lezeth: Okay.
- 16:12Carmen Lezeth: I'm sorry, did I use the wrong word?
- 16:14Carmen Lezeth: Did you say lightly mocking?
- 16:17Carmen Lezeth: Tell us what you think we're listening.
- 16:21Carmen Lezeth: You watched the pilot, right.
- 16:25Rick Costa: Yeah, whatever's the first episode, that's what I watched.
- 16:25Rick Costa: Yeah, and it's what you think we're listening.
- 16:26Rick Costa: You watched the pilot, right?
- 16:26Rick Costa: Yeah, whatever was the first episode, that's what I watched.
- 16:27Rick Costa: Yeah, and it's what I thought.
- 16:29Rick Costa: It's what I expected.
- 16:30Rick Costa: It was the life of a firefighter stuff they go through.
- 16:34Rick Costa: But then they also had drama also along with it.
- 16:37Rick Costa: They had a couple get divorced because they found out about something about him.
- 16:41Rick Costa: So I don't spoil it either.
- 16:43Rick Costa: I mean it was interesting.
- 16:46Rick Costa: I'm not going to say it's oh, my god, I can't wait to see more, but it was interesting.
- 16:51Carmen Lezeth: The light dig, the light dig it was a good show you watched the second and third episode.
- 16:57Cynthia Ruiz Lopez: Would you continue?
- 16:57Cynthia Ruiz Lopez: Would I yeah okay, I just started re-watching it again.
- 17:04Cynthia Ruiz Lopez: I love that show.
- 17:04Cynthia Ruiz Lopez: I think it's so good.
- 17:05Carmen Lezeth: Okay, I just started re-watching it again.
- 17:06Carmen Lezeth: I love that show.
- 17:07Carmen Lezeth: I think it's so good.
- 17:08Rick Costa: Oh 9-1-1.
- 17:08Carmen Lezeth: So we're talking about 9-1-1.
- 17:10Carmen Lezeth: It's the show starring Angela Bassett and Peter Krause.
- 17:14Carmen Lezeth: That is how you say his name, krause.
- 17:18Rick Costa: If you look it up, it's 9-9-1.
- 17:24Carmen Lezeth: It's 9-1-1.
- 17:24Carmen Lezeth: There's a whole bunch of them, but you just want to do the original 9-1-1 with Angela Bassett and Peter Krause.
- 17:30Carmen Lezeth: But the thing that's really cool about 9-1-1 is I do like their relationships and all of the people.
- 17:38Carmen Lezeth: But it's not really about just firemen.
- 17:39Carmen Lezeth: It's about first responders, because it's also about the people just as much in the call center, and that's what I felt.
- 17:43Rick Costa: Because it's also about the people just as much in the call center and that's what I felt I learned so much about I think that was the very first thing on the show was the woman doing the call center and she was saying how stressful it was.
- 17:54Rick Costa: And sometimes she goes home and she like brings the stuff with her because it's in her mind.
- 17:57Rick Costa: Oh my god.
- 17:57Rick Costa: And the fact that she doesn't always know what happened because they hang up before she finds out the resolution which drives them crazy, which makes total sense.
- 18:04Cynthia Ruiz Lopez: I never even thought about that yeah and same with the firefighters, because buck was always like I want to go in too, and they're like no, this is where your job ends at the glass doors.
- 18:15Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, so they have that rule that when the firemen I don't know if this is true everywhere, it's just on the show, but when firemen do their job and they bring and like the unit brings the emergency people to the hospital and the doctors and the nurses take them, the firemen don't go in because their job is done at the glass doors of the hospital.
- 18:35Carmen Lezeth: It's kind of cool because then they have to detach and go to the next emergency and so you learn all these different things.
- 18:43Carmen Lezeth: I happened to catch the episode Cynthia where.
- 18:46Carmen Lezeth: Remember when no spoiler alerts, but remember when they take hostage the call center.
- 18:52Carmen Lezeth: Remember when that whole thing happens and it's so weird because there's this huge traumatic thing that happens at the call center.
- 19:00Carmen Lezeth: Finally they get saved, but within 30 seconds of them being saved, all the other call center people who were not like their other places they had called them in and bust them in to have them come in and start taking emergency calls, as there were dead bodies on the ground because they have to keep the city going and I was like that's so like those little moments oh, my God, cause that's the main one in this part of town.
- 19:27Carmen Lezeth: I thought that was cool.
- 19:29Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, what are you looking at?
- 19:30Carmen Lezeth: What are you looking at?
- 19:32Rick Costa: Tony wanted me to confirm if he was on Tik TOK or not.
- 19:34Rick Costa: I'm like, oh my God.
- 19:36Carmen Lezeth: He couldn't wait to after the show, like he's so weird.
- 19:40Carmen Lezeth: He's so weird that is so cheesy.
- 19:50Rick Costa: My God, lord, he's so weird, that is so cheesy.
- 19:51Carmen Lezeth: My god, lord jesus, anyways are we still on tiktok, rick?
- 19:52Carmen Lezeth: That's fine, yes, we are.
- 19:52Carmen Lezeth: So you were and I know this might be like a boring part of the conversation not boring, but like a weird part you kept talking about and I think this is important to notice.
- 20:00Carmen Lezeth: You were like the baby in the toilet, the the baby in the toilet because there's an emergency in the pilot, where a guy calls 911 because he can hear a baby in the wall and he thinks somebody flushed a child down the pipe, like down the toilet or whatever, and they go in and they rescue this infant born.
- 20:21Carmen Lezeth: It was basically a teenager had a baby and flushed it down the toilet and they go in and try to.
- 20:27Carmen Lezeth: But you were shocked.
- 20:29Carmen Lezeth: That was even a thing, almost to the point.
- 20:30Carmen Lezeth: You thought it was unbelievable I can't believe it.
- 20:33Rick Costa: I thought it was funny, though, too, because they looked at him like because, he was high he was, I'm not high or anything, maybe a little bit.
- 20:42Carmen Lezeth: That's the bong right there.
- 20:44Carmen Lezeth: You know what I mean.
- 20:45Carmen Lezeth: So, yeah, and then when I text you back, or when I emailed you back, I'm not surprised by that story, because, cynthia, I think as another woman we've heard those horrible stories, especially growing up poor.
- 21:00Carmen Lezeth: Hello, I work in a hospital.
- 21:02Cynthia Ruiz Lopez: Oh, my God that's so true.
- 21:04Carmen Lezeth: I'm talking about just me.
- 21:06Carmen Lezeth: Growing up up as a woman, I've heard these horrible stories, what I thought was unbelievable, which is where I think they might have stretched right because, to make the start, the baby was alive like no, it could, still it could.
- 21:18Carmen Lezeth: I'm sure it could have happened.
- 21:20Carmen Lezeth: I'm just saying that's where I thought usually I would think after all that time, after all that time, you got to think about it.
- 21:28Cynthia Ruiz Lopez: So when a baby is born, it's in water, hi Anthony.
- 21:30Cynthia Ruiz Lopez: So it comes out, it can still breathe in the water.
- 21:37Cynthia Ruiz Lopez: You have this water there, but they heard the baby crying.
- 21:41Cynthia Ruiz Lopez: That's why, when it was believable.
- 21:44Cynthia Ruiz Lopez: Yeah.
- 21:44Cynthia Ruiz Lopez: So Hen was like make sure no one flushes the toilet, because then the baby could drown.
- 21:49Cynthia Ruiz Lopez: The baby did stop breathing, but you have really 20 minutes to get your heart rate going before they call it.
- 21:59Carmen Lezeth: Melanie, this sounds like a new version of emergency.
- 22:01Carmen Lezeth: It may be.
- 22:02Carmen Lezeth: There's so many.
- 22:04Carmen Lezeth: Don't get me started on how many emergency, on how many firemen shows there are now, because there's 911, lone Star.
- 22:11Carmen Lezeth: I've been watching Chicago Fire.
- 22:13Carmen Lezeth: There's so many of them now.
- 22:15Carmen Lezeth: I watched SWAT the other day.
- 22:17Carmen Lezeth: I had no idea what that was about.
- 22:18Carmen Lezeth: I was like, let me check this out.
- 22:20Carmen Lezeth: But I'm not addicted to that, although I must say, shamar Moore, lord, amen, amen for the beauty that the Lord bestowed on all of us.
- 22:30Carmen Lezeth: Shamar Moore, hi, diane, thank you for visiting.
- 22:36Carmen Lezeth: Oh, anthony, a year ago.
- 22:37Carmen Lezeth: I only have to wear this till December 30th and it's so much better.
- 22:40Carmen Lezeth: But a year ago I hurt the back of my hand and I hit it against the corner of a desk and I didn't think it was that big of a deal.
- 22:49Carmen Lezeth: It felt like I had.
- 22:51Carmen Lezeth: When you stub your toe, you're like, oh my God, oh my God, and then you're fine.
- 22:55Carmen Lezeth: That's what I thought I did, but actually I really did a lot of damage.
- 22:59Carmen Lezeth: And so after going to doctors whatever I went to physical therapy.
- 23:02Carmen Lezeth: I was afraid I'd have to have surgery.
- 23:04Carmen Lezeth: But I don't.
- 23:05Carmen Lezeth: I've been wearing, I've been.
- 23:06Carmen Lezeth: I have very many of them, but I've been wearing them.
- 23:08Carmen Lezeth: The thing is you don't usually see them because I do this and so no one ever notices it because it's behind.
- 23:15Carmen Lezeth: So I've been wearing it for the past year, basically, or eight, nine months at least on here.
- 23:19Carmen Lezeth: But the I had a huge bump right here.
- 23:22Carmen Lezeth: It's absolutely down.
- 23:23Carmen Lezeth: It's totally down, I know, and the cyst that was up here it looks like you can still see it, but it's still a little bit level and after December 31st we're just going to go with it.
- 23:32Cynthia Ruiz Lopez: All right.
- 23:33Carmen Lezeth: And see how it goes.
- 23:34Carmen Lezeth: I know I'm so excited, but thank you for asking, anthony.
- 23:37Carmen Lezeth: I really appreciate that.
- 23:38Carmen Lezeth: Thank you, oh, diane, are you talking about the episode?
- 23:43Rick Costa: Oh, Diane, are you talking about the episode?
- 23:45Carmen Lezeth: Oh, the baby, probably.
- 23:46Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, oh, it's just an episode on 9-1-1.
- 23:49Carmen Lezeth: Just an episode on 9-1-1.
- 23:51Carmen Lezeth: Tell the truth, carmen, you just lost.
- 23:54Carmen Lezeth: I'll put that one.
- 23:55Carmen Lezeth: Anthony said the same thing I wish.
- 23:58Carmen Lezeth: Who are you, anthony?
- 23:59Carmen Lezeth: Who are you beating?
- 24:00Carmen Lezeth: I wish Goodness Lord.
- 24:03Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, no, I don't think I've ever really beat.
- 24:06Carmen Lezeth: I've beaten up two people, but I was a kid.
- 24:09Carmen Lezeth: I was under the age of 11, 15, 15, 15, 11, I can't remember 26, 26, no, I'm just kidding.
- 24:18Carmen Lezeth: No, I really was a kid.
- 24:20Carmen Lezeth: I've never hit another person.
- 24:21Carmen Lezeth: Last week, it was last week.
- 24:22Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, yeah, no, I would never hit another person Last week, last week, it was last week.
- 24:24Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, yeah, no, I would never hit someone.
- 24:26Carmen Lezeth: Do you guys?
- 24:27Carmen Lezeth: Have you guys ever beat up anybody or hit anybody?
- 24:31Rick Costa: My brother.
- 24:31Rick Costa: That's about it.
- 24:32Carmen Lezeth: Wait, look at Cynthia.
- 24:34Carmen Lezeth: Really Okay, wait, your brother doesn't count, because that was just simply fun, like wrestling, like kids wrestle.
- 24:43Rick Costa: Mostly.
- 24:44Carmen Lezeth: I'm waiting to hear Cynthia Okay.
- 24:46Cynthia Ruiz Lopez: Cynthia go ahead.
- 24:47Cynthia Ruiz Lopez: Oh no, this is when me and Juan first started dating.
- 24:51Cynthia Ruiz Lopez: No, it wasn't Juan, oh my God.
- 24:54Rick Costa: I was about to get juicy.
- 24:56Carmen Lezeth: I'm like Juan is her husband.
- 24:58Carmen Lezeth: We're all freaking out what.
- 25:01Rick Costa: Either that or an ex, let's go.
- 25:07Cynthia Ruiz Lopez: No, it was a friend that I was living with at the time.
- 25:08Cynthia Ruiz Lopez: Me and her got into an argument and she I was outside her house.
- 25:12Cynthia Ruiz Lopez: She was inside and she had a screen door and I'm the type of person you can scream and yell and do everything in my face, but the minute you touch me it's a done deal.
- 25:22Carmen Lezeth: Oh no, oh okay, she hit you first, yeah.
- 25:24Cynthia Ruiz Lopez: So she hit me with the door and so I started bleeding on the side of my eyes.
- 25:29Cynthia Ruiz Lopez: So I went into the house and I just started talking crap about my mom, who passed away.
- 25:34Carmen Lezeth: Okay, Do I know who this person was?
- 25:39Carmen Lezeth: No, let me just send this to Mario in case he wants to come on.
- 25:45Rick Costa: I chose violence in my late 20s and early 30s.
- 25:49Carmen Lezeth: Mario, I just sent you a text with the link if you want to come on.
- 25:52Carmen Lezeth: I don't know if you want to come on, but you're more than welcome to come on.
- 25:56Carmen Lezeth: I chose violence.
- 25:59Carmen Lezeth: Is that the only person you beat up?
- 26:01Carmen Lezeth: Did you beat her up?
- 26:01Carmen Lezeth: Good, though.
- 26:03Cynthia Ruiz Lopez: I think I did.
- 26:05Carmen Lezeth: I just want everyone to know.
- 26:06Carmen Lezeth: Everyone thinks Cynthia is so nice and everything, but it's not true.
- 26:09Carmen Lezeth: Everyone thinks I'm the mean one up here, right, if you guys are thinking about it, you're like Carmen man she's hard, she swears, she's so ghetto, she did this, she hardcore, she blunt, which is what you get over here but over there, over here, but over there, oh over there, go ahead, oh there was another one.
- 26:33Carmen Lezeth: Oh, sammy, our buddy sammy.
- 26:34Carmen Lezeth: Hey, mario cynthia's just telling us who else she beat up.
- 26:36Cynthia Ruiz Lopez: Okay, sammy, go ahead, so his ex-girlfriend thought I had called her a bitch, and which I didn't.
- 26:43Cynthia Ruiz Lopez: And she again got in my face yelling all of a sudden that I was just letting her go, and again she put her hands on me.
- 26:52Cynthia Ruiz Lopez: So I pushed her so hard she you never seen those movies where somebody just flies across the sidewalk like on their butt, like they slide.
- 27:02Cynthia Ruiz Lopez: She literally did that and she came out of her shoes she says it with a little pride, though she said a little pride, that's weird and then we just started fist fighting and my other friend was in the car watching and I don't even remember exactly what happened, but he told me that I dragged her from one car to the other, yeah, and then they just broke us up, okay.
- 27:29Rick Costa: All right, we're 10 people with cell phones videoing the whole thing.
- 27:31Rick Costa: I know.
- 27:32Carmen Lezeth: I know right.
- 27:32Carmen Lezeth: I'm just saying again.
- 27:34Carmen Lezeth: I just want everyone to realize I'm actually the nice one, just throwing that out there.
- 27:39Carmen Lezeth: Go ahead, mario, how you doing what's up, what's up, sir, turn your volume down just a little bit.
- 27:53Maurio Dawson: Are you hot?
- 27:53Maurio Dawson: I mean you're fine and hot, but I mean your mic is hot.
- 27:54Maurio Dawson: Okay, I think I can hear you a little bit.
- 27:56Maurio Dawson: Can you hear me?
- 27:56Carmen Lezeth: No, you can turn it up.
- 27:57Carmen Lezeth: Turn it up then.
- 27:58Carmen Lezeth: I don't want you to not be able to hear us.
- 28:00Carmen Lezeth: Okay, can you hear us now?
- 28:04Maurio Dawson: I can hear you now?
- 28:04Carmen Lezeth: All right, I'm just going to turn you down here and see if that works a little bit.
- 28:07Carmen Lezeth: Okay, go ahead.
- 28:07Carmen Lezeth: How are you doing?
- 28:09Carmen Lezeth: What's going on?
- 28:10Maurio Dawson: I'm well.
- 28:11Maurio Dawson: I'm vacationing with my family in my in-laws house.
- 28:15Maurio Dawson: I'm not at home.
- 28:17Carmen Lezeth: Oh, I think that's the other reason why you told me you were going to be leaving.
- 28:20Carmen Lezeth: You sent that with an email.
- 28:22Carmen Lezeth: So why are you like I haven't gotten an email?
- 28:24Maurio Dawson: I'm like no, I haven't.
- 28:26Maurio Dawson: No, no, no, no, no, no, no.
- 28:28Maurio Dawson: I have not gotten an email for quite some time, ms Lamb.
- 28:32Carmen Lezeth: Ms Lamb, you know what I'm going to send you.
- 28:34Carmen Lezeth: So this is how organized I am.
- 28:35Carmen Lezeth: I'm going to send you all the emails that you didn't respond to.
- 28:37Carmen Lezeth: So I'm like I think Mara, and then you're, then, when I don't send you, you like charlie.
- 28:47Carmen Lezeth: Charlie does the same thing.
- 28:47Carmen Lezeth: You know, that's not true.
- 28:48Carmen Lezeth: Charlie's actually good.
- 28:48Carmen Lezeth: When we see him here, we link him, he comes on.
- 28:50Maurio Dawson: I'm just okay.
- 28:51Maurio Dawson: Okay in my defense.
- 28:53Maurio Dawson: I'm terrible, not in my defense, but I'm terrible with checking emails.
- 28:57Carmen Lezeth: If you want to catch me, give me your ig and then I'll respond yeah, let me work around your schedule because I'm not busy, but okay, no, I'm just kidding, I'm messing with you.
- 29:07Carmen Lezeth: We're on every Thursday.
- 29:08Carmen Lezeth: Every Wednesday I send the link.
- 29:10Carmen Lezeth: You could just be like.
- 29:11Carmen Lezeth: You know what I think karma is going to be on tomorrow.
- 29:14Carmen Lezeth: Let me let her know I can come on.
- 29:17Maurio Dawson: Listen.
- 29:18Carmen Lezeth: Listen.
- 29:19Maurio Dawson: I do all the things.
- 29:20Maurio Dawson: I've had foot surgery.
- 29:22Maurio Dawson: I've been doing things you know.
- 29:23Carmen Lezeth: Listen, I saw some stuff on Facebook too and I was like okay, he, for real.
- 29:27Carmen Lezeth: Now I sent you some information, right?
- 29:30Maurio Dawson: I responded to some no, and I responded to you, remember I said thank you.
- 29:33Carmen Lezeth: I know you did, but that's what I'm saying is so when you want to see something, you see it.
- 29:37Maurio Dawson: Ma'am, don't come for me unless I'm sitting for you.
- 29:45Carmen Lezeth: Don't do it I'm not getting in trouble on this one, because I would love to have you on the show on a regular basis.
- 29:52Carmen Lezeth: But you know I I can only do what I can do and I'm trying to be respectful.
- 29:56Maurio Dawson: So but you're doing good you're with family yes, I'm doing really well for the holidays for For the holidays, for sure.
- 30:04Maurio Dawson: I'm limping but we're doing fine.
- 30:07Carmen Lezeth: Wait, you're limping.
- 30:09Maurio Dawson: Yeah, I had foot surgery.
- 30:11Cynthia Ruiz Lopez: Why?
- 30:11Cynthia Ruiz Lopez: What happened?
- 30:13Maurio Dawson: Well, listen, it's complicated.
- 30:16Maurio Dawson: Since I've been on this weight loss journey, I've been in the gym a lot, so I ended up with ingrown toenails on both feet.
- 30:24Maurio Dawson: So, no bueno, that hurts it very much, does.
- 30:31Carmen Lezeth: So you had to have surgery to get that taken care of On both feet.
- 30:34Maurio Dawson: Wow, yeah, okay, that's both feet, wow yeah.
- 30:38Carmen Lezeth: Okay, that's just hard.
- 30:40Rick Costa: What do you recommend to prevent that in the future?
- 30:42Rick Costa: Like get bigger shoes or something.
- 30:44Rick Costa: I don't know, but you know, for me it's kind of hereditary.
- 30:49Maurio Dawson: My dad had them really bad.
- 30:50Maurio Dawson: The last time I had a really bad one was a year ago when I was a kid, but I hadn't had any.
- 30:57Maurio Dawson: But now, like I said, I've been in the gym, so much I guess.
- 31:03Carmen Lezeth: But shouldn't you maybe go and get a pedicure once every couple weeks?
- 31:07Maurio Dawson: You know what that would be smart.
- 31:10Carmen Lezeth: No, I'm just saying.
- 31:11Maurio Dawson: No, I'm not disagreeing with you at all.
- 31:14Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, because I also have that inclination where I was told I did years and years ago and I was like I guess that's what.
- 31:21Carmen Lezeth: Then every week I gotta get a pedicure, so I don't go every week.
- 31:24Carmen Lezeth: But I was like that's all.
- 31:27Carmen Lezeth: I needed an excuse for less.
- 31:31Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, okay, but I'm glad you're doing okay and I'm glad it's only that I know that doesn't seem right for you, but it's not like something else.
- 31:39Maurio Dawson: No, no, no, no, no no.
- 31:40Carmen Lezeth: So have you ever seen Stargate SG-1?
- 31:43Carmen Lezeth: I do and I don't like it.
- 31:44Carmen Lezeth: Okay, don't say that because Cynthia's not going to watch it.
- 31:48Carmen Lezeth: If you don't like it, oh, I'm sorry.
- 31:49Maurio Dawson: It was great, it was wonderful.
- 31:51Carmen Lezeth: Did you watch?
- 31:52Carmen Lezeth: I know you watched 9-1-1.
- 31:54Maurio Dawson: I know you do.
- 31:55Maurio Dawson: Oh, that's my jam, I'm all in.
- 31:57Carmen Lezeth: See, I watched 9-1-1, 9-1-1.
- 32:00Maurio Dawson: Lone Star.
- 32:00Maurio Dawson: I've been in since day one.
- 32:03Cynthia Ruiz Lopez: Yeah, did you watch Chicago Fire?
- 32:06Maurio Dawson: I used to.
- 32:06Maurio Dawson: We were on the show Alma and I.
- 32:09Maurio Dawson: We watched all of them.
- 32:16Carmen Lezeth: We would do Fire Med and PD fire med and pd so and like, especially when they we were so deep in it, we were ready for the crossovers.
- 32:20Maurio Dawson: So right, they had all the crossovers, right.
- 32:21Carmen Lezeth: But I think we checked out about two seasons ago yeah, because chicago fire lost so many people who are critical to the show.
- 32:28Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, like the minute jess left it was.
- 32:31Carmen Lezeth: Is that his name?
- 32:32Carmen Lezeth: Just the guy?
- 32:33Carmen Lezeth: By the way, here's the other thing I hate about these shows.
- 32:36Carmen Lezeth: I'm just gonna say something.
- 32:37Carmen Lezeth: When you watch any interviews with people because you know you love a show, you start and you find out like half the cast is british yeah, that's just like buck yeah, british it's so no, he's um australian australian.
- 32:52Carmen Lezeth: okay, I just mean they haven't.
- 32:53Carmen Lezeth: They're not american, they don't.
- 32:55Carmen Lezeth: They do American accents and mannerisms so perfectly that you don't know in your stuff, so I loved it.
- 33:01Carmen Lezeth: I think his name was Jess, was on Chicago Fire and the minute he left I was done.
- 33:05Carmen Lezeth: I was done.
- 33:06Maurio Dawson: Yeah, I'm also.
- 33:07Maurio Dawson: I'm a big FBI show.
- 33:09Maurio Dawson: I love all the FBIs.
- 33:11Carmen Lezeth: I don't know what the FBI is.
- 33:13Carmen Lezeth: Is that like SWAT?
- 33:14Maurio Dawson: No SWAT is no, okay, so is Isn't.
- 33:16Carmen Lezeth: SWAT with Shamar Moore.
- 33:19Maurio Dawson: Yeah, because I just watched that the other day.
- 33:21Maurio Dawson: Fbi is on Paramount Plus or CBS.
- 33:22Maurio Dawson: They have it's most wanted In FBI International.
- 33:26Maurio Dawson: So it's just like the Chicago's.
- 33:28Maurio Dawson: No, it's just like the Chicago's, but it's really good and it's a Dick Wolf show.
- 33:34Maurio Dawson: So the people you miss from Chicago Fire.
- 33:37Carmen Lezeth: There are no shows.
- 33:39Cynthia Ruiz Lopez: Yeah, so weird, oh no.
- 33:42Carmen Lezeth: And you know what's weird in real life?
- 33:44Carmen Lezeth: I hate all law enforcement and yet on my TV shows I'm like oh that's my jam, that's the jam because they're the good guys.
- 33:51Carmen Lezeth: Anthony just said I love Stargate SG-1 and all the TV shows based on it.
- 33:55Carmen Lezeth: I, anthony, just said I love Stargate SG-1 and all the TV shows based on it.
- 33:57Carmen Lezeth: I have all of them on DVD and Blu-ray.
- 33:58Carmen Lezeth: I know right.
- 33:58Carmen Lezeth: Melanie said I will look for both of those shows and watch them.
- 34:01Carmen Lezeth: I am so glad that you might.
- 34:04Carmen Lezeth: I think you might like 9-1-1.
- 34:07Carmen Lezeth: I don't know if you're a sci-fi person, but Stargate SG-1 is Rick and mine favorite.
- 34:11Carmen Lezeth: Rick, I wouldn't say it's your favorite.
- 34:17Rick Costa: What's your list of sci-fi stuffage?
- 34:18Rick Costa: If I had to?
- 34:18Carmen Lezeth: pick just one.
- 34:19Carmen Lezeth: We know it's Star Trek Next Generation.
- 34:21Carmen Lezeth: We know that.
- 34:22Carmen Lezeth: After that, which one is it After?
- 34:24Rick Costa: that so many SG-1's up there.
- 34:29Rick Costa: You didn't like the new Battlestar Galactica.
- 34:30Rick Costa: I loved it.
- 34:32Carmen Lezeth: BSG, I mean.
- 34:33Carmen Lezeth: I watched it all, but it's not my jam.
- 34:35Carmen Lezeth: It's too dark.
- 34:36Carmen Lezeth: Cynthia would love that.
- 34:38Carmen Lezeth: Cynthia would love that.
- 34:39Carmen Lezeth: Yes, she would.
- 34:40Carmen Lezeth: Bsg Battlestar Galactica the new one, not the new one.
- 34:47Carmen Lezeth: It's not new anymore, it's 10 years old.
- 34:49Carmen Lezeth: But with Edward James Olmos, with Edward James Olmos.
- 34:53Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, did you ever see that, mario?
- 34:56Maurio Dawson: Which one Battlestar?
- 34:57Maurio Dawson: I watched it back in the 80s.
- 35:00Carmen Lezeth: No, no, no.
- 35:01Carmen Lezeth: Nobody liked that one.
- 35:03Maurio Dawson: That's the only one I saw.
- 35:05Maurio Dawson: I'm more like with Cynthia.
- 35:07Maurio Dawson: I'm in the Star Wars jam, all of those it was great having you both on the show.
- 35:13Maurio Dawson: Rick and I are going to go over here and have our conversation Right, if I had like a thing that moved it over Star Wars up and down Star Wars on the side.
- 35:22Carmen Lezeth: I need like a curtain that just blocks.
- 35:25Maurio Dawson: That's all right.
- 35:26Maurio Dawson: Star Wars on the side.
- 35:27Maurio Dawson: There we go, right there.
- 35:30Maurio Dawson: Star Wars is like here Right here my jam, right, here Right here.
- 35:34Rick Costa: Question my damn, how much more likely would you try a new show because there's one person on there that you really love, even if the show's just not my genre?
- 35:44Maurio Dawson: I've done that in the past.
- 35:45Maurio Dawson: And then I'm like, oh, this is trash, I'm turning it off.
- 35:48Maurio Dawson: You have to get me in the first.
- 35:50Maurio Dawson: You got 10 minutes and then I'm out.
- 35:54Carmen Lezeth: Okay, but that's how?
- 35:57Carmen Lezeth: But that exactly how cynthia got me to watch 9-1-1 because she said, and I was, I'm not gonna watch no cop show or no fireman show.
- 36:01Carmen Lezeth: I love firemen, but not like that.
- 36:04Carmen Lezeth: But all you had to say was I had no idea.
- 36:07Carmen Lezeth: Angela bassett, I was like, I'll watch it, I'm gonna watch it yeah mario.
- 36:12Carmen Lezeth: As a black, you understand what I'm about to say.
- 36:14Carmen Lezeth: Why are her wigs so bad?
- 36:18Carmen Lezeth: On that show, mario.
- 36:20Maurio Dawson: Yes, and she's the EP.
- 36:21Maurio Dawson: That's the bad thing, so that's a choice.
- 36:24Carmen Lezeth: That's a choice and I know she's probably going to be as realistic as possible.
- 36:28Carmen Lezeth: As a black cop, I'm like there is no black woman cop.
- 36:31Carmen Lezeth: Okay, but wait.
- 36:37Maurio Dawson: Shout out to the Tina out to the tina turner tribute.
- 36:38Maurio Dawson: In that that most recent episode, I screamed I'm like that's the tina turner wig for when she beat ike's ass.
- 36:43Maurio Dawson: That was perfect.
- 36:49Maurio Dawson: That was a specific wig.
- 36:51Maurio Dawson: That was the tina turner.
- 36:52Maurio Dawson: That's when she beat Ike's ass wig, that was the good wig, it's just too funny.
- 36:57Carmen Lezeth: You're right, I thought the same thing.
- 36:59Carmen Lezeth: Oh, anthony said Cynthia would like Eureka and Warehouse 13.
- 37:02Carmen Lezeth: Ooh, eureka, she would not like Eureka.
- 37:05Carmen Lezeth: Eureka is one of my favorite shows.
- 37:08Carmen Lezeth: I love Eureka.
- 37:09Carmen Lezeth: Let me tell you why.
- 37:10Carmen Lezeth: You've never.
- 37:11Carmen Lezeth: I don't, rick, we need to have, we're gonna have our own show, baby, because, mar, have you ever heard of eureka?
- 37:18Carmen Lezeth: I have, okay the thing about eureka.
- 37:21Carmen Lezeth: It's more.
- 37:21Carmen Lezeth: It's very it's bubblegum sci-fi, which is a term I've made up.
- 37:25Carmen Lezeth: I just want to clear that up, because someone's gonna steal that and make it like a thing it's like start struck next generation.
- 37:31Carmen Lezeth: It's very clean, very joyful.
- 37:34Carmen Lezeth: It's so good though, but it's a really fun show and it's about all of these really brainy, smart people who live in this town.
- 37:46Maurio Dawson: It's easy watching, though.
- 37:47Carmen Lezeth: It's easy watching.
- 37:48Carmen Lezeth: I think it's only six seasons, they didn't last that long, it's easy, cynthia.
- 37:54Maurio Dawson: You were like, okay, I can dig this, it's easy.
- 37:55Maurio Dawson: It's like, cynthia, you could get.
- 37:55Maurio Dawson: You were like, okay, I can dig this, it's easy watching.
- 37:57Rick Costa: It's not future either, it's present day.
- 37:59Rick Costa: It's present day.
- 38:00Carmen Lezeth: It's present day and it's all about these incredible scientists and they live together in this town and all of these things happen because they're creating things.
- 38:11Carmen Lezeth: And what's really weird is, when they create these things, you realize it's like oh my god, that's actually what we're dealing with now.
- 38:17Carmen Lezeth: Did they really do that?
- 38:19Carmen Lezeth: It starts to freak you out a little bit.
- 38:21Carmen Lezeth: But yeah, Warehouse 13 was an offshoot of Eureka.
- 38:25Carmen Lezeth: I didn't like Warehouse 13 too much.
- 38:27Carmen Lezeth: I loved it.
- 38:28Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, I didn't love it.
- 38:29Rick Costa: I almost cried when it was ending.
- 38:31Rick Costa: I was like what?
- 38:37Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, oh, in Eureka there's a hot guy on there.
- 38:39Carmen Lezeth: That's why I kept watching it.
- 38:40Carmen Lezeth: I forget his name he was just hot.
- 38:44Carmen Lezeth: He was.
- 38:45Carmen Lezeth: We are women.
- 38:46Carmen Lezeth: She gonna understand what I'm saying when she sees it.
- 38:50Carmen Lezeth: She married, but she ain't dead.
- 38:51Carmen Lezeth: Gotta give people incentive to watch things.
- 38:55Carmen Lezeth: Okay, give incentive.
- 38:58Carmen Lezeth: What?
- 38:58Carmen Lezeth: Warehouse 13 was a little bit different.
- 39:00Carmen Lezeth: What was it about?
- 39:01Carmen Lezeth: They did the.
- 39:02Rick Costa: Finding artifacts that actually were like evil and but they were scattered all over the earth, so their job was to try to find them and keep them in the warehouse so people would be safe, because a lot of them would.
- 39:13Rick Costa: You could end up dead from this.
- 39:15Rick Costa: Sometimes it got a little scary, even.
- 39:18Carmen Lezeth: I think she might like Warehouse 13 more than Eureka, but Eureka is really easy viewing.
- 39:24Carmen Lezeth: That's very true.
- 39:25Carmen Lezeth: It's like Star Trek.
- 39:25Rick Costa: Next.
- 39:26Carmen Lezeth: Generation, very easy yeah, whereas Star Wars is like deep, negative, bad.
- 39:33Maurio Dawson: It is not deep and negative.
- 39:35Carmen Lezeth: Evil.
- 39:36Maurio Dawson: It's good versus evil.
- 39:39Carmen Lezeth: In a horrific, dark world.
- 39:42Maurio Dawson: It is not.
- 39:42Maurio Dawson: There are beautiful worlds intact.
- 39:44Maurio Dawson: It's like we live in now.
- 39:46Cynthia Ruiz Lopez: It's really.
- 39:49Carmen Lezeth: I don't hate Star Wars, it's just not my first one.
- 39:53Carmen Lezeth: I've watched Star Wars.
- 39:54Carmen Lezeth: I don't need to watch.
- 39:55Carmen Lezeth: No, not Colin Ferguson.
- 39:57Carmen Lezeth: Okay, anthony's asking.
- 39:59Carmen Lezeth: Am I talking about Colin Ferguson?
- 40:01Carmen Lezeth: He's the lead in it.
- 40:02Carmen Lezeth: Anthony, do you not know me, my type of man yet?
- 40:06Carmen Lezeth: No, just kidding.
- 40:07Carmen Lezeth: He is the doctor who's married to the black woman and I forget her name and she is a beautiful actress and I can't remember her name.
- 40:16Carmen Lezeth: I can't remember, but you know who I'm talking about.
- 40:21Carmen Lezeth: He ends up dying on the show Spoiler alert Spoiler the hot guy, but he dies later and then he comes back because it's an experiment.
- 40:31Carmen Lezeth: You know what I mean?
- 40:32Carmen Lezeth: It's one of those things.
- 40:32Carmen Lezeth: I forget his name, but if you said his name, I could see him Just telling it all.
- 40:37Carmen Lezeth: There's an episode that, for some reason, I don't even remember.
- 40:41Carmen Lezeth: For some reason, he ends up naked.
- 40:44Maurio Dawson: I don't remember, but she remembers the nudity.
- 40:47Maurio Dawson: I forget the face, can't forget the face, but I remember the body.
- 40:53Carmen Lezeth: I have to tell another part of the story.
- 40:55Carmen Lezeth: So when this movie was, this movie, when this show was out, I was watching it while it was out.
- 40:59Carmen Lezeth: So this was back in I don't know way back.
- 41:01Carmen Lezeth: It wasn't like we had DVR and all that other stuff.
- 41:03Carmen Lezeth: So we're watching it.
- 41:04Carmen Lezeth: Yes, ed Quinn, that man is so fine.
- 41:09Carmen Lezeth: Okay, so I was working at the time in Hollywood and I would have to drive by this place and then, because I couldn't go into the, I couldn't go into the property.
- 41:20Carmen Lezeth: I had to park in a different place and it was always near, near this, like Equinox or I don't know some gyms.
- 41:26Carmen Lezeth: It wasn't Equinox but a gym, so I would park over there because I knew it'd be free parking, my car would be safe, whatever.
- 41:31Carmen Lezeth: And then I'd walk up to where I had to go work and I went there and one day he came out of the gym and I was like and I'm never starstruck, but I was I just stopped and I was like that man is so fine.
- 41:44Carmen Lezeth: I could not believe.
- 41:45Carmen Lezeth: I didn't say it out loud, but I was it because you remember his naked body?
- 41:49Maurio Dawson: is that why it was?
- 41:51Carmen Lezeth: I wish I could pull up a picture and put it up here, because you would see what I'm talking about here.
- 41:55Carmen Lezeth: The man is fine.
- 41:56Carmen Lezeth: Yes, he played Dr Nathan Stark Exactly.
- 41:59Carmen Lezeth: Thank you, anthony.
- 42:01Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, I guess I could pull up a picture, but that'd be a little bit weird.
- 42:04Carmen Lezeth: Ed Queen is the actor.
- 42:05Carmen Lezeth: That's a little weird.
- 42:06Carmen Lezeth: That's a little bit too much.
- 42:07Carmen Lezeth: Oh, but that's a beautiful man right there.
- 42:09Carmen Lezeth: And Shemar Moore, though, which is fine if he is gay, but he's so good looking.
- 42:16Carmen Lezeth: He's too pretty sometimes.
- 42:19Maurio Dawson: Is he?
- 42:19Maurio Dawson: I don't think he is.
- 42:20Maurio Dawson: He has a partner now and a child, so I don't think so.
- 42:24Carmen Lezeth: That don't mean nothing, but here's what I'm saying and I don't care.
- 42:28Carmen Lezeth: It's not like if he wasn't I'd have a shot, but the thing about Shamar Moore is that-.
- 42:34Maurio Dawson: I didn't say nothing to that, Shemar.
- 42:35Maurio Dawson: I'm not confirming or denying no rumors.
- 42:37Maurio Dawson: That ain't none of my business.
- 42:39Maurio Dawson: That's your business, man.
- 42:41Carmen Lezeth: I'm just talking about how he's gotten too Do you know what I mean?
- 42:45Carmen Lezeth: He's gotten overly pretty.
- 42:46Carmen Lezeth: So there's this weird thing where men get a little bit over If it takes more I know it takes more time for Shemar Moore to get ready in the morning than it does me.
- 42:55Carmen Lezeth: That's all I'm saying, that's how.
- 42:56Rick Costa: I'm going to put it.
- 42:57Carmen Lezeth: Okay, that's how I'm going to put it, and that to me.
- 43:00Carmen Lezeth: So I tried to watch SWAT and I was like the love is gone.
- 43:05Carmen Lezeth: Now I can't.
- 43:06Carmen Lezeth: What's your?
- 43:07Maurio Dawson: name, okay, the guy who plays Buck's boyfriend is on SWAT.
- 43:16Cynthia Ruiz Lopez: I'm sorry, the guy who plays Buck's boyfriend on 9-1-1 is on SWAT.
- 43:20Maurio Dawson: Oh yeah.
- 43:22Carmen Lezeth: Rick, why are you putting this up here?
- 43:24Carmen Lezeth: I have to show everybody who Ed Quinn is.
- 43:26Carmen Lezeth: Jesus, that's Ed Quinn.
- 43:29Carmen Lezeth: He is fine.
- 43:32Carmen Lezeth: By the way, that's a bad picture of him.
- 43:36Carmen Lezeth: Okay, that's a bad, that's a bad picture of him.
- 43:40Carmen Lezeth: Thank you, rick.
- 43:41Carmen Lezeth: Is it he pretty?
- 43:44Carmen Lezeth: That boy is pretty.
- 43:45Carmen Lezeth: Eyes, speaking of pretty.
- 43:47Carmen Lezeth: Have you guys all watched the superman trailer?
- 43:50Carmen Lezeth: Let's talk about it.
- 43:51Carmen Lezeth: Have you all seen it?
- 43:53Maurio Dawson: I have not.
- 43:54Maurio Dawson: I've only seen.
- 43:54Maurio Dawson: I only saw the teaser trailer.
- 43:56Maurio Dawson: I haven't seen the whole thing yet.
- 43:57Maurio Dawson: This is what the ace superman the 95th superman.
- 44:02Carmen Lezeth: Okay, the name of the actor.
- 44:03Carmen Lezeth: Oh wait, melanie just said the original swat rock.
- 44:06Maurio Dawson: There was an original swat yeah, back in the 70s and 80s, yeah, okay I didn't watch that one would I know it yeah, I did.
- 44:14Maurio Dawson: That's just don't.
- 44:14Maurio Dawson: That's the one I remember.
- 44:15Maurio Dawson: I even remember the theme song.
- 44:17Maurio Dawson: It's still in my head right now.
- 44:18Carmen Lezeth: You're going to sing it, go ahead and sing no, it was this music.
- 44:23Maurio Dawson: It would go.
- 44:24Cynthia Ruiz Lopez: Oh yeah, I remember that.
- 44:25Cynthia Ruiz Lopez: That's the theme song.
- 44:26Maurio Dawson: I know it.
- 44:33Carmen Lezeth: Rick, you don't know the SWAT song, the SWAT show, the original.
- 44:38Rick Costa: I don't think I watched it.
- 44:41Maurio Dawson: If I remember the theme song, you remember the theme song, that means you saw it.
- 44:44Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, I did.
- 44:44Carmen Lezeth: I probably did, I just don't remember it.
- 44:46Carmen Lezeth: Rick is doing other stuff today.
- 44:49Carmen Lezeth: I can totally tell You're on Tony's show right now.
- 44:53Rick Costa: No, I was trying to see if I could see Ed Quinn's picture.
- 44:58Maurio Dawson: He's trying to find you the naked Ed Quinn picture.
- 45:01Carmen Lezeth: I want to see a better picture of Ed Quinn.
- 45:03Carmen Lezeth: We're good.
- 45:05Rick Costa: Who are you naked?
- 45:05Rick Costa: Where's the pop-up button?
- 45:07Cynthia Ruiz Lopez: Oh wow, I know.
- 45:11Carmen Lezeth: We don't need another picture of Ed Quinn, so the new actor for the new Superman is David Korn Sweat.
- 45:20Carmen Lezeth: Is that how you say his name, korn Sweat?
- 45:23Maurio Dawson: Korn Sweat.
- 45:27Carmen Lezeth: Korn Sweat.
- 45:28Maurio Dawson: Oh, I thought you said Korn Sweat.
- 45:29Maurio Dawson: I'm like Korn Sweat.
- 45:33Carmen Lezeth: I'm going to tell you, Rick, why don't you tell us?
- 45:35Carmen Lezeth: I was surprised by what you text me.
- 45:38Carmen Lezeth: What did you think of the trailer?
- 45:40Rick Costa: I was fearful because I did see creature commandos, which is supposed to be like the actual beginning of the new version of dc and I was like what is this?
- 45:49Rick Costa: this is how y'all gonna start at dcu now.
- 45:52Rick Costa: What?
- 45:52Rick Costa: Um?
- 45:53Rick Costa: But then I saw this trailer and I was like, oh okay, this is much better than I thought it was going to be.
- 45:59Rick Costa: I thought they tried to put a little bit too much in there.
- 46:03Rick Costa: Like a lot of characters are in there.
- 46:04Rick Costa: I'm like a lot of people don't know who these people are.
- 46:06Rick Costa: So this is the first trailer, like you, you stuff too much in there.
- 46:09Rick Costa: But yeah, you got to see that the guy definitely did a good job acting it.
- 46:14Rick Costa: You kind of felt like you know how we all thought Christopher Reeve Pause.
- 46:19Rick Costa: I just saw the Superman, christopher Reeve stuff.
- 46:21Maurio Dawson: Yes, the documentary.
- 46:23Maurio Dawson: You gotta have tissues, it's so.
- 46:25Rick Costa: Oh my God, it's amazing.
- 46:28Rick Costa: If you don't have tissues, you're in trouble.
- 46:29Rick Costa: It was like wow.
- 46:29Rick Costa: But when you watch this guy, I'm like okay, he's taking it serious as Christopher Reeve.
- 46:35Rick Costa: In my opinion, he's really taking it seriously, he's doing a good job.
- 46:38Rick Costa: It feels like Superman, although some people are like, yeah, you like Superman, but you don't feel like it really to me.
- 46:45Rick Costa: But so far, so good.
- 46:47Carmen Lezeth: How did you feel about Henry Cavill, cabal Cabal.
- 46:51Rick Costa: I think he did a good job.
- 46:53Rick Costa: I enjoyed his interpretation, but did it feel like superman that I knew growing up a little darker?
- 47:01Carmen Lezeth: also another british man, another english person, and I never knew that until I saw an interview and I was like what?
- 47:07Cynthia Ruiz Lopez: like yeah so you were a big henry cavill.
- 47:10Rick Costa: Superman, you weren't loving it I didn't't think I did good.
- 47:16Rick Costa: I thought it was a decent interpretation but, like I said, it wasn't the Superman I'm used to growing up.
- 47:20Rick Costa: You know, superman I grew up was like does no wrong.
- 47:24Rick Costa: He's not dark at all, he's always very.
- 47:27Rick Costa: You know, gotta do the right thing.
- 47:29Rick Costa: Apple pie, american, you know.
- 47:32Rick Costa: But Cavill was a little bit like, you know.
- 47:35Maurio Dawson: That's Zack Snyder's interpretation of it.
- 47:37Maurio Dawson: It really wasn't Henry Cavill, it was Zack Snyder, the director's writing and interpretation of it, because he also had to do the justice league, which in turn went into the what was the one with the rock, black black Adam, and so it's all of Zack Snyder's universe.
- 47:56Maurio Dawson: Now we're going back into James Gunn's universe and his whole thing because, for people who don't know, james Gunn did Guardians of the Galaxy and all of those movies.
- 48:06Maurio Dawson: So you know, his ideas are just a little more shifted, I guess, creatively, and some of his stuff is fun and some of it I don't enjoy.
- 48:17Maurio Dawson: So we'll see how this goes.
- 48:19Cynthia Ruiz Lopez: Cynthia your thoughts.
- 48:20Cynthia Ruiz Lopez: I've never been a Superman or DC comics fan, so when I saw the trailer I was like, eh, that's okay.
- 48:28Cynthia Ruiz Lopez: The whole super dog, I don't know.
- 48:34Carmen Lezeth: Crypto.
- 48:34Carmen Lezeth: His name is Crypto, yeah.
- 48:37Rick Costa: I'm going to tell you something.
- 48:38Rick Costa: Here's where they messed up.
- 48:38Rick Costa: If later on they show that Crypto can fly, like he does in every other iteration of the show and he just ran through the snow fast in the stupid trailer what was that?
- 48:49Rick Costa: Yeah, it doesn't make sense.
- 48:50Carmen Lezeth: Well, we don't know yet, we don't know, but you know we don't know yet we don't know, but you know, like we don't know what the story is.
- 48:54Carmen Lezeth: But okay, but, cynthia, you're saying just in general, that just fell off for you, yeah.
- 48:59Cynthia Ruiz Lopez: Yeah, I just, and like you said, rick, they did show a lot of characters and it was almost like, too much like yeah, I didn't.
- 49:06Carmen Lezeth: Trailers in general are just.
- 49:08Carmen Lezeth: I I wrote I talked about this in a podcast I did.
- 49:11Carmen Lezeth: There used to be an art form where people were able to make a trailer and you were intrigued by it but you didn't know the whole story and it was like 90 seconds long, you know what I mean.
- 49:23Carmen Lezeth: It wasn't like 17 minutes and it wasn't like the whole story and that art form.
- 49:28Carmen Lezeth: I don't know where it went, but I have yet to watch a trailer.
- 49:32Carmen Lezeth: That has made me be like oh my God, I need to see this movie.
- 49:35Carmen Lezeth: I only go see a movie because of word of mouth or people talking about it, but usually the trailers I'm like all right enough already.
- 49:41Carmen Lezeth: Like enough.
- 49:42Rick Costa: Yeah, or what's the most?
- 49:48Maurio Dawson: annoying thing is when they've literally showed you the best parts in the trailer, or they'll show you something that's in the trailer, that's not in the movie.
- 49:55Carmen Lezeth: That pisses me off.
- 49:56Carmen Lezeth: Why do they do that?
- 49:57Maurio Dawson: That pisses me off Because I'm like wait a minute.
- 49:59Maurio Dawson: Didn't they show this in the trailer?
- 50:00Maurio Dawson: I'm looking for this scene when is it at?
- 50:03Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, yeah, I don't know.
- 50:08Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, I used to think that was a cool thing to watch these little snippets of movies and be intrigued, but now I just get annoyed by it.
- 50:16Carmen Lezeth: I hate watching trailers that are that long.
- 50:18Carmen Lezeth: Look, I'm going to be honest with you.
- 50:21Carmen Lezeth: I honestly don't care for DC comics at all.
- 50:25Carmen Lezeth: But when I was younger I went and saw Superman one 19 times.
- 50:30Carmen Lezeth: I saw it over and over again.
- 50:31Carmen Lezeth: I used to sneak into the movie theaters when I cut school or after school and I would just sit there and you could do that back then.
- 50:38Carmen Lezeth: I'm not advocating anybody to do that, but it was also like a place to be.
- 50:42Carmen Lezeth: But I loved that movie and I loved Christopher Reeve Like I really believed him and it was sad what happened to him.
- 50:47Carmen Lezeth: And I loved Christopher Reeve Like I really believed him and it was sad what happened to him and that whole document.
- 50:52Carmen Lezeth: I don't want to go there, but I just.
- 50:54Carmen Lezeth: And then his son is so beautiful, like his son is actual.
- 50:58Carmen Lezeth: Okay, all right, I'm sorry, I know, I know, okay, anyway, that's a whole other issue, okay, and then you know.
- 51:08Carmen Lezeth: Then, dana, like it's just all, everyone should watch the documentary.
- 51:10Carmen Lezeth: But anyways, superman.
- 51:11Carmen Lezeth: The original to me was just so it embedded in my heart that it's hard for any of them to master it for me, and every time a new superman comes up, I'm like yep, dope, like I come to it with a bias.
- 51:26Carmen Lezeth: I feel like that was.
- 51:28Cynthia Ruiz Lopez: Batman.
- 51:28Cynthia Ruiz Lopez: I feel Michael Keaton was the only Batman.
- 51:31Maurio Dawson: Agreed.
- 51:32Carmen Lezeth: I will say, though I did like the other one, who's the one?
- 51:35Maurio Dawson: Not Dark Knight.
- 51:35Maurio Dawson: Please don't tell me Dark Knight.
- 51:37Carmen Lezeth: No, what's his name?
- 51:38Rick Costa: Val Kilmer, christian Bale.
- 51:41Carmen Lezeth: Oh yeah, okay.
- 51:42Carmen Lezeth: What I liked about Christian Bale, though, was that he scared me, because it really was dark.
- 51:50Carmen Lezeth: It was like he scared me, and he's a nice man.
- 51:51Carmen Lezeth: It's like what's happening here.
- 51:55Cynthia Ruiz Lopez: As far as the Joker, jack Nicholson love him hands down.
- 52:00Cynthia Ruiz Lopez: But Heath Ledger, he did do a very good job.
- 52:04Maurio Dawson: Yeah, he did.
- 52:06Cynthia Ruiz Lopez: I'm sorry.
- 52:06Carmen Lezeth: I love Joaquin Phoenix, but I did not like him as a doper, I need you to talk into your mic or whatever, because you've gotten really low.
- 52:13Carmen Lezeth: I don't know what happened.
- 52:14Carmen Lezeth: Cynthia, have you guys noticed she's gotten very low.
- 52:17Carmen Lezeth: I'm going to put you up more.
- 52:19Rick Costa: Is it Margo that played Lois Lane in the original Mar?
- 52:22Rick Costa: No, not Margo.
- 52:23Rick Costa: What's her name, margo?
- 52:25Carmen Lezeth: Slane Margo Kidder.
- 52:31Rick Costa: Kidder.
- 52:31Rick Costa: Yeah, it still cracks me up when he grabs her when she's falling.
- 52:33Rick Costa: Don't worry, ma'am, I've got you, you got me.
- 52:35Rick Costa: Who got?
- 52:35Cynthia Ruiz Lopez: you, that's a good one.
- 52:39Rick Costa: Still cracks me up.
- 52:40Carmen Lezeth: Cynthia, I don't know why your volume's gone down.
- 52:42Carmen Lezeth: It's okay.
- 52:42Carmen Lezeth: I'm not going to say it again.
- 52:43Carmen Lezeth: It's just we're having this great conversation.
- 52:45Carmen Lezeth: I hate in the editing when I have to just mute you because I can't fix you.
- 52:49Carmen Lezeth: Adam West is Batman.
- 52:51Carmen Lezeth: Okay, melanie, she is putting us down with that statement.
- 52:55Carmen Lezeth: That's TV.
- 52:56Carmen Lezeth: Adam West was the original, first Batman 1966,.
- 53:00Maurio Dawson: I got you.
- 53:01Carmen Lezeth: We can't even fight with you, Melanie.
- 53:03Carmen Lezeth: Adam West is Batman.
- 53:04Carmen Lezeth: She's not like I think I like Adam West better.
- 53:07Carmen Lezeth: No, Adam West is Batman.
- 53:10Maurio Dawson: Eartha Kitt is Catwoman.
- 53:12Rick Costa: Every Catwoman on that show.
- 53:13Carmen Lezeth: I loved Every Catwoman.
- 53:17Maurio Dawson: What Julie Newmar and Eartha Kitt were both great Catwomen.
- 53:22Carmen Lezeth: You guys know more than I do.
- 53:23Carmen Lezeth: The only thing I know about DC comics, I'll be honest with you, is when I used to watch the Super Friends, the cartoon, that's it.
- 53:31Maurio Dawson: Yeah, okay, I'll give you that the Justice League.
- 53:33Carmen Lezeth: Wonder Twins Unite they were my favorite.
- 53:35Maurio Dawson: Wonder Twin Powers Activate Form of a bucket of water.
- 53:44Rick Costa: Gleek, grab the bucket.
- 53:46Rick Costa: We're gonna fly, let's go.
- 53:47Cynthia Ruiz Lopez: It's true though they would do that in form of a cheetah.
- 53:50Cynthia Ruiz Lopez: Bucket of water.
- 53:54Cynthia Ruiz Lopez: Oh, that was so fun though.
- 53:58Carmen Lezeth: Can you hear me?
- 53:59Cynthia Ruiz Lopez: Yeah, it's doable Speaking of bucket of water, rick did you watch Wicked?
- 54:07Carmen Lezeth: Okay, Rick.
- 54:08Carmen Lezeth: Rick was the only one who hadn't seen wicked.
- 54:10Carmen Lezeth: Go ahead, rick, let us know what would you like to know?
- 54:18Maurio Dawson: your thoughts.
- 54:18Maurio Dawson: What did you think, did you?
- 54:19Rick Costa: love me, did you hate it?
- 54:20Rick Costa: You know what I liked, so this is gonna take you back.
- 54:24Rick Costa: So long years ago I was with these online friends and we were like, let let's make a story.
- 54:29Rick Costa: And they'd be like you'd write a couple sentences, the next person write a couple sentences, the next person write a couple sentences.
- 54:33Rick Costa: But you got to make sure it stays coherent.
- 54:35Rick Costa: And these people were like y'all just made a mess.
- 54:38Rick Costa: This is supposed to be one story.
- 54:39Rick Costa: So somehow I pulled everything they did, which was all not even related, and made it make sense.
- 54:46Rick Costa: They did which was all not even related and made it make sense.
- 54:50Rick Costa: I was so stinking proud of myself.
- 54:51Rick Costa: But to do what he did, to take a classic, known story that everybody knows and create this ginormous backstory that completely makes sense, that you almost think, yeah, this is how it was in 19,.
- 55:01Rick Costa: Whenever this was created, like he was totally believable.
- 55:04Rick Costa: Yeah, this is what happened.
- 55:05Rick Costa: We just didn't know yet.
- 55:06Carmen Lezeth: So I thought that was really good so you're complimenting the author of the second book, but how did you like the movie?
- 55:15Rick Costa: okay, it wasn't.
- 55:16Rick Costa: It was not all singing, like people kept telling me yeah, it's a movie, it's a true diet and so yeah, the sync, like if it was totally singing.
- 55:26Rick Costa: I'm not gonna lie, that would probably annoy me, but it never really pulled me out when people started singing, because that will happen sometimes if it's too much and obviously everybody's singing without a point.
- 55:35Rick Costa: It was beautiful, well done.
- 55:37Rick Costa: Blah, blah, blah.
- 55:37Rick Costa: I enjoyed the story.
- 55:39Rick Costa: I enjoyed.
- 55:40Rick Costa: What's her name now?
- 55:41Rick Costa: Cynthia?
- 55:42Maurio Dawson: Arillo, cynthia Arillo.
- 55:45Maurio Dawson: No, no In the movie Ariana Grande.
- 55:48Rick Costa: No, yeah, alphaba, I couldn't think of it Like her journey.
- 55:51Rick Costa: Her real name is Cynthia Cynthia Arreola yeah but we're talking about the movie, so I'm saying in the movie oh, alphaba, sorry, yeah, yeah.
- 55:58Rick Costa: So I liked her journey and I felt bad for her that her father rejected her and I was like that sucks, it's not her fault, she would want green, whatever.
- 56:06Carmen Lezeth: You know who her father is.
- 56:08Carmen Lezeth: Okay, spoiler, I won't say it no, no no.
- 56:10Carmen Lezeth: I'm sorry, go ahead.
- 56:14Rick Costa: And that's fun when they do encounter each other.
- 56:15Rick Costa: He was like oh, it's you.
- 56:18Rick Costa: And she's still like I don't know who you are, but no, I thought in the end it was a good story, do you?
- 56:24Carmen Lezeth: want to end.
- 56:24Carmen Lezeth: It was a good story and I'm like it's such a big deal, though, like why everybody loves it why, oh, I'm asking you, could you?
- 56:29Carmen Lezeth: Because you're talking about it very technically and stale, so I'm like I feel like you're forcing yourself to say you liked it, but maybe it's not like you wouldn't watch it again.
- 56:37Carmen Lezeth: You wouldn't go watch it in the movie theater and watch it again.
- 56:40Carmen Lezeth: That's okay.
- 56:41Rick Costa: I didn't mind watching it again.
- 56:42Rick Costa: I thought it was.
- 56:43Maurio Dawson: are you?
- 56:44Maurio Dawson: Were you invested enough to be willing to go see part two?
- 56:47Rick Costa: Oh yeah, as soon as it was over, I was like wait, this is only part one, Wait, there's more.
- 56:51Rick Costa: Yeah.
- 56:53Carmen Lezeth: Mauro, you hated it, I could tell you hated it.
- 56:58Maurio Dawson: For me it was trash.
- 57:02Cynthia Ruiz Lopez: Garbage.
- 57:04Carmen Lezeth: I think, you went opening night right, did you go?
- 57:06Maurio Dawson: No we went before opening night so and I went with the girls.
- 57:10Maurio Dawson: Of course they were next to me crying yeah, because for them both Marissa and Alma are both empaths.
- 57:19Maurio Dawson: And then they also related it to themselves as far as minorities and what we as minorities go through in society being pointed out, being ostracized, being being seen as less than or not worthy of.
- 57:31Maurio Dawson: So they were on a different type of empathetic journey with it, yeah, and then at the end, when they were saying to find, when she's saying to find gravity, they were just.
- 57:43Maurio Dawson: That whole thing was just amazing for them.
- 57:45Maurio Dawson: So I enjoyed it and I enjoyed taking the ride with them and I enjoyed the ride myself.
- 57:51Maurio Dawson: There were some really great scenes.
- 57:53Carmen Lezeth: Jonathan Bailey was phenomenal.
- 57:56Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, he was great and he did all of those.
- 58:00Maurio Dawson: There were no stunts with his books and stuff.
- 58:02Maurio Dawson: He did all of that himself.
- 58:04Carmen Lezeth: He was amazing yeah he was amazing.
- 58:06Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, Cynthia, you also hated it.
- 58:10Carmen Lezeth: This is quintessential for you what you love, oh yeah.
- 58:19Rick Costa: And then, when they did the flowers, the like, I was like oh, poppies.
- 58:23Cynthia Ruiz Lopez: The flowers yeah.
- 58:25Maurio Dawson: There were a lot of Easter eggs if you caught them, if you were paying attention.
- 58:27Maurio Dawson: There were a lot of easter eggs if you caught them, if you were paying attention.
- 58:29Maurio Dawson: There were a lot of easter eggs like even at the beginning, when you see dorothy walking on the illiberal walking on in the poppies to, you get the where the idea, or with the, the poppies come in.
- 58:46Maurio Dawson: Later on you understand why they were there.
- 58:48Carmen Lezeth: It's just the shoes let's just give some love to john chu right, the director who is just it does just an incredible yeah feat that he was able to create and masterful I.
- 59:03Carmen Lezeth: I find it weird that anyone, if he doesn't win best director, it's just going to be weird.
- 59:08Maurio Dawson: Not that the nominations should be enormous this year, for sure.
- 59:12Carmen Lezeth: I mean, he was just everything that he was able to pull together and make this magical place is just an incredible thing, yeah.
- 59:22Maurio Dawson: I loved it and the train and the wizard were not CGI.
- 59:25Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, no, nothing was CGI.
- 59:27Carmen Lezeth: I mean they actually planted all of those.
- 59:30Carmen Lezeth: You know they, I mean, and I think I mean you know people get so afraid of AI and I know not in my lifetime I don't think AI is ever going to be able to take over the creativity of an individual human being.
- 59:45Carmen Lezeth: The creativity of an individual human being.
- 59:50Carmen Lezeth: It will assist us, but I don't think like cgi is great, but cgi could not create what you saw on screen, not in that way.
- 59:54Carmen Lezeth: It's so much more tangible.
- 59:56Carmen Lezeth: You know what I mean?
- 59:58Carmen Lezeth: Too late, it's richer.
- 59:59Rick Costa: What about the monkeys?
- 1:00:00Rick Costa: When the monkeys changed?
- 1:00:01Rick Costa: I'm not gonna spoil it, that's not wings, when they get wings, or whatever I'm not spoiling anything.
- 1:00:12Carmen Lezeth: I don't know every single technical thing, but when you watch any of the interviews, like and you watch and you can say they made every area an actual place so that they can walk into it, so that they could, they weren't working with a green screen, which is usually what actors are doing, like I love marvel, but all of that is CGI.
- 1:00:30Carmen Lezeth: You know what I mean?
- 1:00:31Carmen Lezeth: Like all of them are working in front of green screen.
- 1:00:34Carmen Lezeth: I'm not saying all of it, but most of it, and you can tell the difference.
- 1:00:36Carmen Lezeth: I'm not saying you can tell the difference, but you can feel the difference because actors work differently.
- 1:00:42Carmen Lezeth: I don't care how great you are, you could be Meryl Streep and I and I love Meryl Streep or Viola Davis.
- 1:00:48Carmen Lezeth: These are the two greatest actresses of our time.
- 1:00:50Carmen Lezeth: I think these two women working in front of a green screen and working in front of a real live set are probably the only two people I think that could probably pull it off and not flinch, but I think it changes you as an actor when you are actually interacting with an actual place.
- 1:01:08Carmen Lezeth: You know, but you know.
- 1:01:10Rick Costa: I'm nobody.
- 1:01:11Carmen Lezeth: What do I?
- 1:01:11Rick Costa: know the actresses on Agatha all along because they wanted purposely no CGI.
- 1:01:17Rick Costa: They want everything to be real and they're like it's just so cool that we're actually walking in this place.
- 1:01:21Rick Costa: It's not, you know, something's there, it's actually there and they loved it.
- 1:01:24Rick Costa: Yeah, it's tangible.
- 1:01:25Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, it's tangible.
- 1:01:26Maurio Dawson: Yeah, it gives the actors more to work with too.
- 1:01:28Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, I think that's why I love theater too, because when you're in theater, when you're doing a scene on stage, you're physically there.
- 1:01:38Carmen Lezeth: You know what I mean.
- 1:01:39Carmen Lezeth: It's not about the camera angle or whatever.
- 1:01:40Carmen Lezeth: You're physically in the space.
- 1:01:41Carmen Lezeth: And I've always told you guys this.
- 1:01:43Carmen Lezeth: I know that other more brilliant people who know about acting would disagree with me, but there is a difference between theater acting and television and film acting.
- 1:01:53Carmen Lezeth: I'm not saying one is better than the other, I'm just saying there is a difference.
- 1:01:57Carmen Lezeth: And the reason why I suck in front of a television camera being an actor, I can't be that fresh 20 times on the same scene over and over again.
- 1:02:07Carmen Lezeth: And people who can do that are why they're working as actors on television, cause you don't just film something once on television, you film it like five or six times.
- 1:02:16Carmen Lezeth: Cause they have to do different angles.
- 1:02:18Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, they have to do your, they have to do your point of view, my point of view.
- 1:02:23Carmen Lezeth: They have to do the camera behind you, looking over there, and then they slice all that up.
- 1:02:27Carmen Lezeth: That's a different kind of acting and I admit it, I know my strengths and that was not one of them.
- 1:02:35Maurio Dawson: That was interministriated, sadly for the acting world.
- 1:02:37Carmen Lezeth: sadly for television and film, I will not be an actor in some great movie, I'm sorry.
- 1:02:43Carmen Lezeth: It's a tab limit.
- 1:02:46Carmen Lezeth: You know what I mean.
- 1:02:47Carmen Lezeth: All I can can just do it.
- 1:02:53Carmen Lezeth: There's one, take, yes, one and done.
- 1:02:54Carmen Lezeth: You rehearse it over and over again, but at the end of the day, when that curtain comes up, that's it.
- 1:02:57Carmen Lezeth: It's on point and you go ahead.
- 1:02:58Carmen Lezeth: It's oh, go ahead what?
- 1:02:59Maurio Dawson: go ahead, mario I say one more thing just to let you know, rick, I don't know if you're aware of this, but when she's singing defying gravity, she's in a harness and she's actually flying while she's singing live singing do you understand how hard that is?
- 1:03:15Carmen Lezeth: so cute was?
- 1:03:16Carmen Lezeth: Jonathan bailey actually said that.
- 1:03:18Carmen Lezeth: They asked him what was your favorite part of working on this movie and without skipping a beat, he said watching Cynthia in a harness.
- 1:03:28Carmen Lezeth: And then she yeah, and there was another part too that he talked about where, because they had built the thing, that were, birds that were in the like, the roof or whatever, were like stuck in there and whenever she would sing, they would sing.
- 1:03:42Maurio Dawson: Yeah.
- 1:03:42Carmen Lezeth: Wow, yeah, gave me chills.
- 1:03:45Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, I'll find that interview and I'll send it to you guys.
- 1:03:47Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, it's amazing.
- 1:03:49Rick Costa: So yeah, they had a similar thing on Agatha along too, where they flew on brooms and they all said, oh my God, that was so fun.
- 1:03:58Carmen Lezeth: Have any of us watched this show?
- 1:04:00Maurio Dawson: No, yeah, agatha, all along, yeah, yeah, absolutely.
- 1:04:03Cynthia Ruiz Lopez: Did you?
- 1:04:03Cynthia Ruiz Lopez: No, I haven't watched it it's.
- 1:04:05Maurio Dawson: Marvel, Of course it's Marvel.
- 1:04:06Carmen Lezeth: And I love Marvel, but I'm done.
- 1:04:09Carmen Lezeth: I'm done with Marvel.
- 1:04:10Carmen Lezeth: I need a break.
- 1:04:11Carmen Lezeth: I need a 10-year break and then I'll come back.
- 1:04:14Carmen Lezeth: Yeah.
- 1:04:16Maurio Dawson: I'm already excited for Ironheart.
- 1:04:17Maurio Dawson: It's a Black woman leading the show.
- 1:04:18Maurio Dawson: I'm already there.
- 1:04:20Carmen Lezeth: I'm excited because Denzel Washington slipped about Black Panther 3.
- 1:04:24Maurio Dawson: He got in trouble for that right.
- 1:04:27Carmen Lezeth: He got in trouble.
- 1:04:27Carmen Lezeth: He apologized, but it's Denzel Washington.
- 1:04:31Maurio Dawson: Are they saying what he's going to be?
- 1:04:33Maurio Dawson: No, they're alluding to.
- 1:04:34Carmen Lezeth: I don't know.
- 1:04:36Maurio Dawson: Yeah, they alluded to it already.
- 1:04:37Maurio Dawson: It's out there.
- 1:04:38Carmen Lezeth: It's out there, but he had to apologize because he talked about it and no one had talked about it yet.
- 1:04:43Maurio Dawson: It was supposed to be a surprise.
- 1:04:48Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, it's Denzel, it's so cute.
- 1:04:50Maurio Dawson: It's Denzel.
- 1:04:50Maurio Dawson: I'm 70 years old.
- 1:04:51Maurio Dawson: I don't know what the hell I'm going to say.
- 1:04:53Carmen Lezeth: That's right.
- 1:04:53Carmen Lezeth: Anthony said I didn't much care for Agatha all along Interesting.
- 1:04:59Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, I've never seen it so since it's a very slow burn, but when you get to episode 7, Patti LuPone's episode.
- 1:05:09Rick Costa: Yeah, she's amazing.
- 1:05:11Carmen Lezeth: She's in it.
- 1:05:11Carmen Lezeth: Oh yeah, I love her.
- 1:05:15Carmen Lezeth: I'm still not going to watch it, but I love her Theater queen, come on, she's amazing.
- 1:05:22Maurio Dawson: And she sang in the show.
- 1:05:24Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, Isn't Agatha all along from the original?
- 1:05:29Carmen Lezeth: What was the?
- 1:05:30Maurio Dawson: It's from WandaVision.
- 1:05:31Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, and I didn't even love WandaVision.
- 1:05:33Carmen Lezeth: I struggled through that.
- 1:05:34Carmen Lezeth: I know Y'all are going to be upset.
- 1:05:35Carmen Lezeth: I struggled through watching that whole thing and I know I'm sorry, the only Disney.
- 1:05:42Carmen Lezeth: I'm not going to say Disney, not gonna say disney.
- 1:05:43Carmen Lezeth: But the only shows I've loved that I would watch again after the marvel movies was like loki.
- 1:05:49Carmen Lezeth: There was two.
- 1:05:50Carmen Lezeth: There was another one too, the one with hawkeye.
- 1:05:53Carmen Lezeth: I liked that one which one the show with hawkeye on it, what he had a what is it you mean jeremy renner?
- 1:06:04Maurio Dawson: yeah because you've been saying hot guys all day.
- 1:06:08Cynthia Ruiz Lopez: I didn't say hot guys you know, hot guy, hot guy, I'm like.
- 1:06:13Cynthia Ruiz Lopez: Which one I haven't even remembered it.
- 1:06:15Carmen Lezeth: I forget what it was, but I liked that one.
- 1:06:18Maurio Dawson: Hot guy.
- 1:06:18Maurio Dawson: That's the name of the show.
- 1:06:19Carmen Lezeth: Yeah and then, but those are like the only two Loki and that, and then there was one more.
- 1:06:32Carmen Lezeth: I think that I, like my brain is blanking out there's another really good one.
- 1:06:34Maurio Dawson: It was just too many it was just too many like.
- 1:06:35Carmen Lezeth: I didn't like the hulk one, the she hulk.
- 1:06:36Carmen Lezeth: What was she good?
- 1:06:36Carmen Lezeth: No, that wasn't that great, that wasn't good.
- 1:06:37Carmen Lezeth: And I tried to go through them all and I'm like you know what?
- 1:06:39Carmen Lezeth: We need a break.
- 1:06:40Carmen Lezeth: We need a break is what happened sorry, captain america's coming out.
- 1:06:45Maurio Dawson: Anthony mackie's the new, the new captain.
- 1:06:46Carmen Lezeth: I have to watch out because I have to support.
- 1:06:48Carmen Lezeth: Okay Doesn't mean I have to like it.
- 1:06:53Maurio Dawson: We'll suffer, suffer.
- 1:06:55Carmen Lezeth: Wow, it was nice having you on the show, Mario.
- 1:07:00Rick Costa: Hopefully we'll have you back in 2026.
- 1:07:02Rick Costa: Thank you, melanie said Hawkeye from MASH.
- 1:07:06Carmen Lezeth: I love Melanie because Melanie just shows up her age Hawkeye from MASH.
- 1:07:08Carmen Lezeth: Hawkeye from MASH.
- 1:07:08Carmen Lezeth: I love Melanie because Melanie just shows up her age Hawkeye from MASH.
- 1:07:11Maurio Dawson: I don't know what you're talking about.
- 1:07:12Maurio Dawson: I'm not familiar with that show.
- 1:07:15Carmen Lezeth: Are you being funny?
- 1:07:16Carmen Lezeth: Everybody knows MASH.
- 1:07:18Carmen Lezeth: That was one of the greatest shows ever.
- 1:07:20Maurio Dawson: I don't know that show.
- 1:07:22Carmen Lezeth: Oh my god, because you're so young, all you have to do is be part of Hollywood.
