- 0:19SPEAKER_04: You're listening to the objective jerk.
- 0:23SPEAKER_04: And I am said jerk.
- 0:25SPEAKER_04: What's going on?
- 0:27SPEAKER_04: How's everybody doing?
- 0:29SPEAKER_04: Let's see.
- 0:30SPEAKER_04: Let's see.
- 0:31SPEAKER_04: Life in the Philippines.
- 0:32SPEAKER_04: What's going on?
- 0:33SPEAKER_04: It's actually there's a little storm brewing, so the the it's a little cloudy-ish, a little breezier, so it's not as hot.
- 0:42SPEAKER_04: It's still hot as hell, but I mean not hot as hell, I guess, but it's it's still hot.
- 0:48SPEAKER_04: I was at the uh I was at the market two days ago, I think, and I don't go to the market by myself very often.
- 0:56SPEAKER_04: Usually my wife is there, but I went to the gym and so I stopped to get oh, it was Friday.
- 1:03SPEAKER_04: That's right, because I couldn't eat meat, so I was getting potatoes.
- 1:08SPEAKER_04: Anyway, well that was two days ago, so there I'm getting, you know, I'm buying potatoes.
- 1:16SPEAKER_04: It's from the same lady.
- 1:17SPEAKER_04: So the lady that works at the little veget vegetable stand or whatever, she knows me and stuff, and so she's making a little bit of small talk, but then there's a woman who's there, and she's like, she's like, How do you like you know, Philippines?
- 1:33SPEAKER_04: And I'm like, I was like, it's hot, you know, and she's like, Yeah, and then she goes on to kind of talk about the months that are not as hot, and I'm like, Oh, I know.
- 1:43SPEAKER_04: I was like, I've been here six years, and she's like, Oh, so so you love it, and I'm like, uh, I don't love it, but I I do like it a lot.
- 1:52SPEAKER_04: I think because love would be, you know, I'd have to accept the heat and some of the other the little things that bother me.
- 2:00SPEAKER_04: But it's close, but I think I would love it if man, if it just got a little colder in the winter time for like three months, if it just got down to the like high 40s, low 50s for a while, you know, that would be nice.
- 2:18SPEAKER_04: If that was the case, then I would love it.
- 2:21SPEAKER_04: But yeah, so but yeah.
- 2:25SPEAKER_04: Oh, and then she she was like she was giving me a card for her church and stuff, which is you know, Protestant church and stuff.
- 2:34SPEAKER_04: She's like, her pastor's from America, probably Filipino, but maybe grew up in the States or something.
- 2:39SPEAKER_04: I don't know, maybe not.
- 2:40SPEAKER_04: And I was like, Oh, I'm Catholic, so sorry, thanks.
- 2:44SPEAKER_04: So but yeah, there we go.
- 2:48SPEAKER_04: Let's see.
- 2:50SPEAKER_04: Weather.
- 2:52SPEAKER_04: That's about it.
- 2:53SPEAKER_04: Uh like, see, I'm already hot right now.
- 2:55SPEAKER_04: I had I actually had the window open because we have the AC off at night, because it is cool enough where it cools off a little bit, so we turn the AC off at night, you know, save electricity and whatever.
- 3:07SPEAKER_04: And uh, but so the window was just open when I was getting things set up, and I was thinking of leaving it open to get a little breeze going, but the curtain is like flapping all over the place, so it's not gonna work.
- 3:20SPEAKER_04: Oh yeah.
- 3:22SPEAKER_04: So I'll just sit here and sweat.
- 3:23SPEAKER_04: I need to get it like a silent fan or something.
- 3:26SPEAKER_04: I don't know, man.
- 3:28SPEAKER_04: I I do have that one portable fan, actually.
- 3:31SPEAKER_04: I think I used that one time.
- 3:33SPEAKER_01: Where did I put it?
- 3:36SPEAKER_01: Oh, it's right there.
- 3:40SPEAKER_01: I wonder if I can.
- 3:44SPEAKER_01: I don't think this messes with the sound.
- 3:50SPEAKER_01: It's quiet enough, I think.
- 3:53SPEAKER_01: Got a little breeze going.
- 3:56SPEAKER_01: Or oh no, you can kinda hear it.
- 3:59SPEAKER_01: It is kind of cutting out.
- 4:06SPEAKER_01: Oh, it's hitting right on the microphone, that's bad.
- 4:09SPEAKER_04: There's a little bit of a Oh, but it's pretty slight though.
- 4:12SPEAKER_04: I might try it.
- 4:14SPEAKER_04: I might try it, because sometimes I get to the point where I'm just getting hot and I want to end the podcast instead of just letting it go where it goes, you know.
- 4:24SPEAKER_04: So I'm gonna see how this audio works out.
- 4:27SPEAKER_04: I can slightly hear the the you know the background protection going on, but it's not as bad as my normal fans.
- 4:34SPEAKER_04: So let me know if uh if the sound is horrible.
- 4:42SPEAKER_04: Alright, so I got my little list of things that you know, things that go on in between my recordings of podcasts that are things that I would like to talk about.
- 4:51SPEAKER_04: So I always put little notes and I kind of move it around, but I'm just gonna do it in order.
- 5:00SPEAKER_04: So see how that goes, because it kind of seems a little bit a little bit more of a hot mess when I'm trying to like do editing and production in the middle of my, you know, so I just don't think it works that good.
- 5:17SPEAKER_04: So I'm just gonna start right off the bat.
- 5:20SPEAKER_04: So scary movie.
- 5:22SPEAKER_04: Scary movie, a new scary movie is coming out.
- 5:25SPEAKER_04: Scary movie, I think it's six, and I don't know if I've seen I think I've only seen the wait, scary movie six?
- 5:33SPEAKER_04: Is there that many out there?
- 5:35SPEAKER_04: Because I want to say I only seen the third one as the last one.
- 5:39SPEAKER_04: That's the one with like the ring and and signs, or is that the fourth one?
- 5:45SPEAKER_04: Maybe that's what it is, but I definitely didn't see no fifth one.
- 5:48SPEAKER_04: Anyway, I didn't realize that the Wayne's brothers, they only did the first two, so which that kind of makes sense.
- 5:55SPEAKER_04: So those are the best ones.
- 5:57SPEAKER_04: But so a new scary movie, you know, trailer is released, and immediately you got like liberal loonies and crybabies just freaking out over the trans joke, which to be fair, I'm I I'm pretty sure that one of the Wayne's brothers like has a child that's dr trans or whatever, so but and it's not really a good joke, it's an old kind of joke, but it's an old, like, okay.
- 6:30SPEAKER_04: So, you know, chick gets stabbed in the subway.
- 6:33SPEAKER_04: Oh my god, he stabbed her, and then she's like, her, my pronouns are they, you know, so it's it's not that great of a joke, but what makes it good is it because it's mainstream now, you know.
- 6:47SPEAKER_04: I mean, and then some people are like, oh my gosh, it's so old.
- 6:51SPEAKER_04: I was like, how is it old?
- 6:52SPEAKER_04: That joke is not old, it's been nothing but trans are awesome for and you can't make jokes for the last you know five to ten years or whatever.
- 7:01SPEAKER_04: Well, ten years is kind of stretching in, but five years for sure.
- 7:05SPEAKER_04: Yeah, the joke is old between like people like myself, conservatives, comedians, but it's not a joke that's been used on mainstream Hollywood, you know what I mean?
- 7:18SPEAKER_04: So I think it's more of a statement of that this movie's not, you know, is not holding back, it's gonna pick on everybody.
- 7:28SPEAKER_04: You know, it makes a racist joke with Republicans or whatever, you know, and all the stuff.
- 7:33SPEAKER_04: And that's you know, that's what you come to expect, is little jokes about everything.
- 7:38SPEAKER_04: So as long as as everybody gets picked on equally, then that's great.
- 7:44SPEAKER_04: That's what people want.
- 7:45SPEAKER_04: Well, normal people, that's what we want.
- 7:48SPEAKER_04: You know, like South Park sucks because they pick on you know Trump and and and conservatives, which is fine to do, but when they had four golden years with Biden that they could have, you know, used and they didn't, that just you know, okay, obviously there's a an agenda there.
- 8:11SPEAKER_04: Like they don't, you know what I mean?
- 8:14SPEAKER_04: So South Park has lost a lot of credibility due to that.
- 8:21SPEAKER_04: But what else?
- 8:22SPEAKER_04: There was something else too.
- 8:23SPEAKER_04: It's like, dude, poke fun at Republicans.
- 8:26SPEAKER_04: You can poke fun at you know, Christians and whatever, and the weird things that like Catholics do, or people think that's weird, or all that stuff.
- 8:33SPEAKER_04: That's fine, you know.
- 8:34SPEAKER_04: You can do some kind of whatever, but it's like, but you can't like, oh, but no, don't say nothing about trans, or it's like, whatever.
- 8:43SPEAKER_04: Shut up.
- 8:44SPEAKER_04: Come on.
- 8:45SPEAKER_04: And people are like legitimately upset about it.
- 8:50SPEAKER_04: Watch that movie's gonna make bank, it's gonna be huge, and they're all gonna cry about it.
- 8:58SPEAKER_04: Alright, so I don't know what her first name is.
- 9:01SPEAKER_04: I just know she's some like hood rat black chick that runs for Congress.
- 9:07SPEAKER_04: And for in Texas, Crockett.
- 9:10SPEAKER_04: I've seen some clips of her, and she's just like, I'm like, how the hell is she a politician?
- 9:15SPEAKER_04: But but so she lost, so that's good.
- 9:18SPEAKER_04: She's a dumb bitch.
- 9:22SPEAKER_04: Alright, Dan Crenshaw, who I liked a lot at first, I think like most people, but then he ended up being kind of a douche with he didn't he doesn't care about, he just cares about himself.
- 9:34SPEAKER_04: He's a douchebag, so I'm glad he lost too.
- 9:37SPEAKER_00: Oh, but he was fired through this, and he was in the teams nobody cares.
- 9:43SPEAKER_04: There's douchebags in every whatever.
- 9:48SPEAKER_04: And then I thought this was pretty funny.
- 9:50SPEAKER_04: So Walls, Walls, whatever, the dipship that almost became our vice president.
- 9:56SPEAKER_04: He was on what do you call it?
- 10:00SPEAKER_04: You know, he had a hearing where he was asked a bunch of questions regarding Somalia and Minnesota and all that kind of stuff.
- 10:09SPEAKER_04: And and dude, he's they would ask, like they so they they asked him a question, and he's like, Well, I can't answer that because I wasn't governor.
- 10:16SPEAKER_04: It's like, okay, fair enough.
- 10:18SPEAKER_04: So then they asked him the same question, but it was during when he was governor, and he still couldn't answer it.
- 10:27SPEAKER_04: Oh, I don't know.
- 10:28SPEAKER_04: I don't I don't have those numbers in front of me.
- 10:32SPEAKER_04: I don't know this, I don't know that, I don't know, oh I don't know.
- 10:35SPEAKER_04: And then and he just had like this condescending like tone and everything that was just like oh my gosh, man.
- 10:43SPEAKER_04: I and I just I'm so glad that he's not our vice president.
- 10:50SPEAKER_04: He was horrible.
- 10:51SPEAKER_04: I think they even made a remark of, you know, they're like, and you were like, so you know, he couldn't answer this, that this was going on, and they're like, man, it's a good thing you weren't our vice president, or they made something, and I was just like, Yes, exactly.
- 11:07SPEAKER_04: I mean, they were drilling him pretty good, it was awesome.
- 11:12SPEAKER_04: But that guy is a f he is such a piece of shit.
- 11:18SPEAKER_04: He's oh my gosh, I feel bad for Minnesota, but you voted for him, so what are you gonna do?
- 11:23SPEAKER_04: I wonder how that's gonna turn out.
- 11:24SPEAKER_04: I mean, all that crap that's coming out with you know, the learning centers and Somalia and all that crap, and you know, I don't know.
- 11:35SPEAKER_04: It's insane.
- 11:36SPEAKER_04: All of it's insane.
- 11:37SPEAKER_04: It's not really been in the news lately, though, huh?
- 11:39SPEAKER_04: I mean, I guess they all left.
- 11:42SPEAKER_04: They all got out of there because the jig was up.
- 11:45SPEAKER_04: But yeah, Walls needs to be held accountable, man, because he let that shit happen, so at the very least, he should just be sued and thrown out of office and not able to run for any kind of political position at all, you know, at the very least.
- 12:07SPEAKER_04: He should go to jail for a little bit, though.
- 12:13SPEAKER_03: Yeah, what time is it?
- 12:15SPEAKER_04: Oh, okay.
- 12:16SPEAKER_04: Let's see, and then Billy Corgan, who is the guitarist for this well, singer and writer, well, he's like the Trent Reznor for Smashing Pumpkins had some remarks to say.
- 12:34SPEAKER_04: Now I was I was I was pretty into Smashing Pumpkins.
- 12:37SPEAKER_04: They weren't like one of my top, you know, they were like my second tier, I guess.
- 12:42SPEAKER_04: You know, I would listen to them and I like them a lot, and I enjoyed a lot of their music, and I wouldn't say they were, you know, I mean they were pretty close.
- 12:50SPEAKER_04: I don't know.
- 12:51SPEAKER_04: They weren't really grunge, but they came out during that time, I guess.
- 12:56SPEAKER_04: So were they I guess I don't know.
- 13:00SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 13:02SPEAKER_04: And I still listen to them now occasionally.
- 13:04SPEAKER_04: Generally it's the older stuff, you know.
- 13:06SPEAKER_04: I don't I haven't really listened to any of the last few albums that they released.
- 13:12SPEAKER_04: But the guy is he seems to be a decent enough guy.
- 13:17SPEAKER_04: I think he's a little bit of a control freak, especially when it comes to his music or whatever, but seems to be pretty smart and pretty based.
- 13:26SPEAKER_04: Has he got a little bit of an ego?
- 13:27SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I mean, I think I mean you could take anybody and put him in in the in his his life and career and stuff, and they'd, you know, they're gonna have an ego.
- 13:40SPEAKER_04: But he I didn't I didn't listen to the whole thing.
- 13:45SPEAKER_04: But he basically was just saying how seen like the 2000s like the focus was pulled, even though like rock music and and some heavy metal or whatever was very popular, they kind of like music industry and whatever just totally changed focus on to you know, hip hop, hop pop music and all that kind of crap, right?
- 14:17SPEAKER_04: And it's kind of it's kind of strange, like if you uh it makes you kind of think like was the government involved in it to try and create a bunch of artists that can help manipulate the public, you know, and the government's done it before, you know.
- 14:41SPEAKER_04: But if this if that's the case, then this is huge.
- 14:46SPEAKER_04: You know, nothing compares to this.
- 14:48SPEAKER_04: But basically, you know, the idea was probably conceived when Napster and all that stuff was going on, and it was obvious that like the music industry was changing, and you weren't gonna be able to sell CDs, it wasn't gonna be able to, you know, you're not gonna be able to be showing the results of how or how popular an artist is by album sales anymore.
- 15:16SPEAKER_04: So now it's gonna be downloads, right?
- 15:19SPEAKER_04: The thing is, is downloads can be controlled or manipulated, and it's much easier to control and or manipulate a single artist as opposed to a band when you got four or five or more people, right?
- 15:39SPEAKER_04: And I've heard other people, other bands kind of say talk about this kind of stuff a little bit, but they didn't really go out guns blazing like Billy Corgan did.
- 15:50SPEAKER_04: And you know, he's just saying, like, how there's no record execs, no, you know, no companies, no download, you know, Spotify, all that kind of crap.
- 16:02SPEAKER_04: Nobody cares about the rock music.
- 16:05SPEAKER_04: Nobody like they're that's just not even a concern.
- 16:07SPEAKER_04: All they're doing is focusing on like stupid shit like Bad Bunny, like how the fuck is that guy even popular?
- 16:14SPEAKER_04: I don't get it.
- 16:16SPEAKER_04: But but yeah, so much of the stuff when you look at like like Drake, I think it's Drake.
- 16:23SPEAKER_04: Um they just have some like I you know, I know like I'm older and my musical tastes are very different from whatever, but it's like, man, that shit is just garbage, though.
- 16:38SPEAKER_04: Like, because I can appreciate I like some old school hip-hop, I like some country, I like some classical, more, you know, like film scores type of, you know, and you know, I like a little bit of everything, a little bit of jazz.
- 16:53SPEAKER_04: I can't, but the only thing I can listen to on a regular basis is like rock and heavy metal, you know.
- 16:59SPEAKER_04: I mean, I have to be in the mood for the other stuff.
- 17:02SPEAKER_04: I cannot listen to what's popular right now, though, like the Drake and what I just talked about.
- 17:07SPEAKER_04: Like, it's just it's horrendous, it's stupid, like it makes no sense.
- 17:13SPEAKER_04: And but that's what's oh, number one, top of the charts, you know, and all these downloads, look at this, right?
- 17:22SPEAKER_04: And but then and then rock music is just not really there, right?
- 17:31SPEAKER_04: It just seems like rock music is dead.
- 17:34SPEAKER_04: But when you have all these festivals of rock and heavy metal going on, selling out like crazy ticket sales for you know, Creed that's back out again, Limp Bizkits killing it.
- 17:48SPEAKER_04: I mean, Metallic, like everybody, they're all killing it because people are going to the concerts.
- 17:56SPEAKER_04: You don't have that with this crap music that's out right now.
- 17:59SPEAKER_04: I mean, yes, like you know, you'll have Taylor Swift, she can sell out some concerts and stuff like that, but if you notice, there's no festivals with pop artists, right?
- 18:13SPEAKER_03: Oh, let's do all the right?
- 18:16SPEAKER_04: Think about that.
- 18:16SPEAKER_04: There's no why is there no, you know, big festivals where you have all a bunch of different artists get out there and do their thing and whatever?
- 18:25SPEAKER_04: Because nobody would go.
- 18:26SPEAKER_04: They wouldn't go, they don't sell.
- 18:29SPEAKER_04: They've tried and they just it doesn't work.
- 18:34SPEAKER_04: People can go to a one-night kind of thing to a you know, Taylor Swift and buy a ticket for a thousand dollars or some shit.
- 18:41SPEAKER_04: Like that stuff's crazy, I guess, but yeah, but I mean that just tells you right there the tickets sold, the amount of tickets that are being sold for the different acts, festivals, and whatever this and that.
- 18:59SPEAKER_04: That where people really that's basically the CD sales now, you know what I mean?
- 19:07SPEAKER_04: Because because downloads don't it doesn't matter, it's it's all bullshit, you know.
- 19:12SPEAKER_04: I mean, are some of it true, yeah, but that stuff can be there.
- 19:16SPEAKER_04: How do you know it's not manipulated or anything like that?
- 19:21SPEAKER_04: And we do know because you just look at what's going on.
- 19:24SPEAKER_05: All these artists that are like, oh, look at so many downloads, the number one artist.
- 19:30SPEAKER_05: Nobody cares, nobody really cares.
- 19:32SPEAKER_04: Yeah, they win all these awards, they go to you know, they do the thing at the Super Bowl, nobody gives a shit.
- 19:39SPEAKER_04: You know, but go to like power thing going on here.
- 19:47SPEAKER_03: It's almost like Iraq.
- 19:52SPEAKER_04: But yeah, just look at that whole picture, just look at kind of the whole thing and just see how you know, rock bands, that's where they gotta make their money now.
- 20:02SPEAKER_04: I mean, before, you know, they made their money more on album sales and stuff like that, and then going to concerts or having concerts was just more of like uh getting getting people to hear your music or you know, giving people a little bit of what they want, right?
- 20:23SPEAKER_04: Because back in the day, it was all about album sales.
- 20:26SPEAKER_04: Like I think REM, who I never I didn't hate or nothing, but I never really got into.
- 20:32SPEAKER_04: I liked a couple of their songs, but their album that had that song that I know every word of the song, that's me in the corner, that's me in the spot, like you know, I could I could sing that entire song, and I've never listened to that like on on like purpose.
- 20:51SPEAKER_04: I just heard it, you know what I mean.
- 20:55SPEAKER_04: That thing played on radio so much, but anyway, and it's not a bad song, but it's I don't know, but anyway, so that album though, they didn't even tour once.
- 21:06SPEAKER_04: They released that album and it sold millions upon millions, and it was a huge hit, and they didn't even have to go on you know, tour or nothing to support anything.
- 21:15SPEAKER_04: They made enough money from it.
- 21:16SPEAKER_04: I mean, I think they had some other stuff going on, they didn't want to tour.
- 21:19SPEAKER_04: I think they're drummer or something, but the point is they didn't have to, you know what I mean?
- 21:25SPEAKER_04: And now it's like you can't do that, and you release, you know, you have to tour.
- 21:30SPEAKER_04: If you want to make money, it's all about the tour now, you know?
- 21:34SPEAKER_04: Which is kind of crazy.
- 21:36SPEAKER_04: Which sucks for me.
- 21:37SPEAKER_04: I would rather get the album, which they still do the albums, but they just don't put the same effort into albums like they used to.
- 21:44SPEAKER_04: And to be fair, I haven't bought an album in a long time.
- 21:47SPEAKER_04: I'm I'm the digital guy when it comes to music.
- 21:50SPEAKER_04: I like hard copies of film.
- 21:54SPEAKER_04: I I mean, I do have like I have a record player that's in pieces stacked up.
- 21:58SPEAKER_04: I gotta put it together.
- 22:00SPEAKER_04: I have to buy like a transformer for it though, because it's from the States.
- 22:04SPEAKER_04: So I go back and forth with that, and I'm like, man, I don't want.
- 22:08SPEAKER_04: I don't know.
- 22:10SPEAKER_04: I'm thinking I might just need to buy one for here because I do have a little vinyl collection.
- 22:14SPEAKER_04: Only like a handful of them are like mine, the rest were like my parents.
- 22:19SPEAKER_04: And so I kind of want to, you know, every once in a while I got a bunch of I got some vinyl on my Amazon cart, you know.
- 22:26SPEAKER_04: I'm kind of weary about having it shipped here though.
- 22:30SPEAKER_04: I'll have to just order one and just see what happens, I guess.
- 22:33SPEAKER_04: But yeah, for some stuff that, you know, in case, you know, solar flares happen and internet goes down and power, and I'm gonna listen to music, you know, I can at least put on a record and listen to some some of the good stuff, right?
- 22:48SPEAKER_04: So just have you know the stuff that's like my my go-to or whatever.
- 22:57SPEAKER_01: What was I talking about?
- 23:00SPEAKER_01: Talking about the records.
- 23:04SPEAKER_04: Oh, how I I have physical copies of film, but not music so much.
- 23:09SPEAKER_04: I don't focus on music as much as I used to, because my I don't have, I don't know if it's my faith or whatever, because I've talked about before how it's like I kind of things, music I used to listen to, or like a song I really enjoyed, now I hear it, and some of the words that are being said, or whatever, and I'm just like, oh crap, I can't, I don't want to listen to this, which kind of sucks, you know, but it is what it is.
- 23:35SPEAKER_04: So I'm I'm constantly trying to find new music, not constantly, but and I'll like it for a little bit, but then I kind of always I don't know, there's just nothing I don't know, like I'm lately, I don't know.
- 23:50SPEAKER_04: So okay, so when I go to the gym, that's about the time when I listen to music the most now is when I'm at the gym or when I'm doing some designing on my affinity program.
- 24:01SPEAKER_04: Uh lately I've been I have like a you know a playlist of like prog metal, so it's got rush, it has Avenge Sevenfold, one of their proggy, more you know, the last one.
- 24:19SPEAKER_04: What else is on there?
- 24:20SPEAKER_04: I got Dream Theater, obviously, and then there's Haken, they're called Haken.
- 24:26SPEAKER_04: I actually kind of really like them a lot.
- 24:30SPEAKER_04: They're English, I think.
- 24:33SPEAKER_04: I like that album that I and they have a few of them, so I'm kind of you know, listen to that.
- 24:39SPEAKER_04: And then for when I go to the gym, I just have like, you know, just aggressive Avenge Sevenfold.
- 24:46SPEAKER_04: What else is on there?
- 24:48SPEAKER_04: I got like a Silver Chair Madman song, I got Sepulchorus, you know.
- 24:52SPEAKER_04: I just have a couple songs from different, like the most aggressive songs, just you know, for working out and everything like that.
- 24:58SPEAKER_04: Even Five Finger Death Punch, which I like some of their stuff, not all of it.
- 25:03SPEAKER_04: To me, a lot of their stuff kind of just seems very redundant, you know what I mean?
- 25:12SPEAKER_04: A lot of their songs kind of sound the same.
- 25:15SPEAKER_04: But you know, that's kind of how a lot of bands are when you're first listening to them.
- 25:20SPEAKER_04: Anyway, so that's about it.
- 25:22SPEAKER_04: So that's the only time if I'm doing like things when I used to listen to music too, like doing like yard work, maybe, or or just doing some kind of chore or doing something, whatever, where I'm just you know, I gotta be moving.
- 25:38SPEAKER_04: Used to listen to music.
- 25:39SPEAKER_04: Now it's more a podcast or listen to somebody talk or whatever.
- 25:43SPEAKER_04: So yeah, just basically if I'm on my computer for a good while doing some designing or at the gym, that's the only time I listen to music.
- 25:50SPEAKER_04: You know, back in the day, I did most of my music listening, driving to work, commuting back and forth to work, you know.
- 26:00SPEAKER_04: But that doesn't happen anymore.
- 26:02SPEAKER_04: If I'm driving, never by myself, my wife's not gonna listen to what I like to listen to.
- 26:08SPEAKER_04: Alright, anyway, wow, I'm at 26 minutes and I didn't get to the very last thing.
- 26:12SPEAKER_04: Star Trek for the voyage home.
- 26:18SPEAKER_04: So I actually kind of bullshit it a lot longer than I thought, but oh well, probably not gonna spend too much time.
- 26:26SPEAKER_04: So I'm watching Star Trek, a little recap.
- 26:32SPEAKER_04: The all the Star Trek films with my son.
- 26:40SPEAKER_04: Seen the second one, but so long ago, it was almost like seeing it for the first time.
- 26:45SPEAKER_04: And from here on out, I've seen them at least once, I think.
- 26:49SPEAKER_04: I want to say.
- 26:51SPEAKER_04: So The Voyage Home, which I kept forgetting what it was called, but you know, that was the one just I always caught on cable and stuff a lot.
- 27:00SPEAKER_04: So I seen that one the most.
- 27:02SPEAKER_04: But I liked it, you know.
- 27:03SPEAKER_04: I I like time travel and you know, it was funny and stuff like that.
- 27:07SPEAKER_04: But it's not very trekky.
- 27:09SPEAKER_04: It's a great movie, but it kinda so like I said, this was one of my favorites, but I hadn't watched it in a long time.
- 27:20SPEAKER_04: So I watched it, watched the third, it took forever, I had a huge break in between the second and the third one, and then we watched the third one, and then like a day or two later, we watched the fourth one.
- 27:32SPEAKER_04: And you know, I I still enjoy it.
- 27:38SPEAKER_04: It is very now with you know my age and my frame of mind and my whatever, it's very liberal.
- 27:47SPEAKER_04: You know, it's got a lot of liberal kind of talking points and stuff, which which is fine, you know.
- 27:53SPEAKER_04: But it's it's a great movie, but it's not very trek-y, you know.
- 27:59SPEAKER_04: I don't know.
- 27:59SPEAKER_04: I mean it is, but I used to like it.
- 28:02SPEAKER_04: I think I like it less than what I remember, just because it's just not, you know, it's it's a great movie, but it it's not really a Star Trek movie, in a way, sort of.
- 28:18SPEAKER_04: You know, I know they've always done time travel and stuff in the shows and everything like that, but and like I said, I do I love the movie, but it does kind of feel a little especially because it's part of like this little mini trilogy in in the in the film verse for whatever you want to call it.
- 28:36SPEAKER_04: You know, you got Wrath of Khan and then Search for Spock and then this one.
- 28:40SPEAKER_01: It kind of like I don't know.
- 28:46SPEAKER_04: I think maybe they should have did the third one differently and saved this one for another one.
- 28:54SPEAKER_04: You know what I mean?
- 28:55SPEAKER_04: I don't know.
- 28:56SPEAKER_04: It's not I think it could have been better if they would have done that a little.
- 29:00SPEAKER_04: It just kind of pulls you out of the whole Star Trek thing, I think, a little.
- 29:04SPEAKER_04: I don't know.
- 29:05SPEAKER_04: I mean, at the beginning and the end and stuff, I guess.
- 29:08SPEAKER_04: But but you know, it's it's still it's still pretty good, it's still entertaining, I guess.
- 29:14SPEAKER_04: And it it does watching, you know, the search for Spock answering so many questions about this film because I remember watching it when I was younger, and I just I didn't understand like why I was like, Well, are they in trouble?
- 29:28SPEAKER_04: Because they went they went and saved the planet, so they went through time.
- 29:32SPEAKER_04: Why was that like I missed stuff because I was younger, but that's how long ago it was since I've seen it, you know.
- 29:38SPEAKER_04: So but you know, it's it's I think I see why like Wrath of Khan is is is regarded as one of the best ones because it's a full-on trek movie, sci-fi Star Trek movie that's good.
- 29:53SPEAKER_04: The third one is a little boring, I guess.
- 29:57SPEAKER_04: It's not bad, but and then the Voyage Home is great and it's entertaining, but it doesn't feel like it feels like it should have been the movie after, you know, this little trilogy.
- 30:11SPEAKER_04: I don't know.
- 30:13SPEAKER_04: But so anyway, that's that for Star Trek as of right now.
- 30:18SPEAKER_04: I'll watch the next one, the fifth one.
- 30:21SPEAKER_04: I don't know.
- 30:23SPEAKER_04: Hopefully sooner than later, I guess.
- 30:25SPEAKER_04: I think I remember the fifth one.
- 30:26SPEAKER_04: That's the one with his half-brother, and they're looking for God.
- 30:31SPEAKER_04: And I remember watching that one because my my grandparents had it on VHS, and I used to watch it quite often.
- 30:39SPEAKER_04: Kind of, you know, when I didn't I just wanted something to have on, but I didn't know what, so I'd put it in and watch it.
- 30:45SPEAKER_04: There was a couple movies from back in the day when I was a kid that I did that, like I got kind of hooked on and I'd watch it, not every day, but man, pretty close.
- 30:53SPEAKER_04: And that Star Trek was one of them.
- 30:56SPEAKER_04: So actually, I think probably as far as the original Star Trek films, this one I used to say it was the Voyage Home, but it's probably this next one is the one I've watched the most.
- 31:08SPEAKER_04: Because I remember watching that and like a fish called Wanda a lot on VHF, like after school.
- 31:16SPEAKER_04: Like I didn't know what I wanted to watch, so I just put those on, you know.
- 31:20SPEAKER_04: Or one of them.
- 31:25SPEAKER_04: But I'm sure I'm kind of thinking that actually, you know what?
- 31:29SPEAKER_04: I think I watched it not too long ago, though.
- 31:32SPEAKER_04: I think like a two years ago or something, it was on.
- 31:35SPEAKER_04: But yeah, because Star Trek, they had a bunch on Netflix.
- 31:39SPEAKER_04: I think I did watch it, and that was one of I think I watched it not too long ago, if I remember right.
- 31:45SPEAKER_04: I I think it was still pretty good.
- 31:47SPEAKER_04: I didn't mind it.
- 31:48SPEAKER_04: But anyway, it's a little more Star Trek-y, I think, than the Voyage Home, which is great.
- 31:53SPEAKER_04: I'm not bashing the Voyage Home.
- 31:55SPEAKER_04: Uh, it's one of my favorites, but anyway, let me know what you think.
- 31:59SPEAKER_04: I've been rambling now for a long time.
- 32:03SPEAKER_04: 32 minutes, not too bad, but so that's it.
- 32:07SPEAKER_04: That's all it's going with me.
- 32:09SPEAKER_04: My views, my opinions.
- 32:12SPEAKER_04: Let me know what you think.
- 32:13SPEAKER_04: Do you agree, disagree?
- 32:15SPEAKER_04: Do you hate me?
- 32:16SPEAKER_04: Let me know.
- 32:16SPEAKER_04: Alright, I'll talk to you guys later.
- 32:18SPEAKER_04: God bless.
- 32:19SPEAKER_04: Alright, bye.
