- 0:56Speaker 2: joining us here from the local podcast based Emeralds City
- 1:00Speaker 2: Hockey will dive into the Krack and win over Chicago
- 1:02Speaker 2: two nights ago. Unsung Heroes storyline through twelve games and
- 1:07Speaker 2: the hazards the Kraken face with an incoming San Jose
- 1:09Speaker 2: eighteen Mestil might be a ways away from contending, but
- 1:13Speaker 2: can give anybody a scare based on the young and
- 1:16Speaker 2: talented members they have on their roster. RJ Eskinos joining
- 1:21Speaker 2: us in just a little bit, the Cracking again, coming
- 1:24Speaker 2: off a three to one win over Chicago. Before we
- 1:27Speaker 2: get to RJ, here's what you might have missed, with
- 1:30Speaker 2: the Kraken looking to snap back to back losses and
- 1:34Speaker 2: with two points, getting a chance to ascend to first
- 1:37Speaker 2: place in the Pacific Division.
- 1:39Speaker 3: Ear signed Marshminton right circle shot Tad Don by Yanni
- 1:43Speaker 3: Newman just caught a piece did soder Blob and it
- 1:46Speaker 3: knuckled off the goal line for Chicago. Back to the
- 1:51Speaker 3: line held in.
- 1:52Speaker 4: A Lesia shot.
- 2:01Speaker 3: Jamie Alexiak from the far point, flutters one on the
- 2:05Speaker 3: goal and it knuckles in by Arvin Soutter blam or
- 2:09Speaker 3: one nothing, cracking lead.
- 2:11Speaker 4: With seventeen oh three left here in the second boll.
- 2:14Speaker 3: I mentioned it moments ago with Jeordan Nibley. Four check
- 2:16Speaker 3: creates offensive opportunities. This time it's car Jay and Berkley
- 2:20Speaker 3: Catton down load doing that four check. Give me the
- 2:23Speaker 3: puck back to Jamie Alexiak, who, as you said, floats
- 2:27Speaker 3: one on net and it beats sounderflop one nothing, bracket
- 2:30Speaker 3: as off one by Seattle done right side, tolling in
- 2:34Speaker 3: down low.
- 2:34Speaker 4: Everley bats it off, but ears stop.
- 2:43Speaker 3: Matty Veneers right in front below all the hash marks
- 2:47Speaker 3: had the Crackhead take a two to nothing lead.
- 2:50Speaker 4: With twelve twenty four to play in a second.
- 2:53Speaker 3: Well it starts with the face off winning. We've been
- 2:54Speaker 3: talking about how important face offs here tonight Chandler Stevenson
- 2:58Speaker 3: with the win. Matty Eveneers gets the puck behind the
- 3:00Speaker 3: excuse me, everybody gets the puck behind the net, finds
- 3:03Speaker 3: many pineers all loan out in front. He beats so
- 3:05Speaker 3: of the blocker side two nothing. Bracker pumped off the
- 3:09Speaker 3: buck now.
- 3:10Speaker 4: Everly he'll bring it in everly since stood Jordan Everly
- 3:22Speaker 4: his fifth goal the season. The Crooking get that insurance.
- 3:26Speaker 5: Goal back back up by a pair three one, three
- 3:30Speaker 5: fifty five left in the third.
- 3:33Speaker 3: Of Frank Dazar just loses the pucket. The center race
- 3:36Speaker 3: there and it's Jordan. Everybody that picks it up. He's
- 3:38Speaker 3: gonna two.
- 3:38Speaker 5: One zero with toven and on his off wing, sells
- 3:41Speaker 5: that pass, gets some of them just to fight, just
- 3:44Speaker 5: a fight a little bit, and beats him club side
- 3:47Speaker 5: down load three one.
- 3:49Speaker 3: Cracking Burakowski's cockett, the Ryansonato there now Tony Decard saucers
- 3:53Speaker 3: that tore the empty net.
- 3:55Speaker 5: Head left Shita, we'll cock it down in the high slot.
- 3:59Speaker 3: Oh yeah, he saw off coming. Show me the court,
- 4:03Speaker 3: he says it. He's always going for it.
- 4:06Speaker 4: The blue line green was there.
- 4:07Speaker 3: Now this one dumped in for her up, knocks it down.
- 4:11Speaker 4: Still, flip this one up the ice.
- 4:12Speaker 3: There's the horn and the Seattle cracket. Get back in
- 4:17Speaker 3: the win column after back to back over time defeats
- 4:21Speaker 3: three to one against Chicago.
- 4:23Speaker 2: Well, from time to time we invite those from the
- 4:26Speaker 2: podcast space because they are so talented, so hard working,
- 4:30Speaker 2: and this guy joining me here is certainly no exception.
- 4:33Speaker 2: RJ Eskinos one half of the Emerald City Hockey crew. RJ,
- 4:38Speaker 2: please say hi to Dylan for us. If we're doing well.
- 4:41Speaker 2: How you holding up here heading into game day?
- 4:43Speaker 4: Doing great? Thanks? I'll say how to Dylan, and I
- 4:45Speaker 4: just want to thank you for having me on.
- 4:46Speaker 2: Pleasure is mine sir, pleasure is mine. Let's dive into
- 4:49Speaker 2: the first twelve games here for this team this season,
- 4:52Speaker 2: coming off the three to one win over Chicago. There
- 4:54Speaker 2: are two schools of thought. But before we get into
- 4:57Speaker 2: deep details here on this, I mean, I'm going back
- 5:00Speaker 2: and thinking in preseason RJ there are not many prognosticators
- 5:05Speaker 2: picking the Crack and to be where they are at
- 5:08Speaker 2: right now, they went to bed with their heads hitting pillows,
- 5:12Speaker 2: first place in the Pacific Division. So I think, to you,
- 5:16Speaker 2: what defines the first twelve games of this season.
- 5:19Speaker 4: I think hard work and the Lane Lambert system for
- 5:22Speaker 4: the Crack, and I think that's the biggest different We
- 5:24Speaker 4: get so many questions from fans about well, what are
- 5:26Speaker 4: the Cracking doing right? Why are they winning these games?
- 5:29Speaker 4: And I think so much of it just comes down
- 5:31Speaker 4: to effort. They are working really hard, they're out working
- 5:34Speaker 4: on other teams, and they're sticking to a defined system.
- 5:36Speaker 4: And we know that that can work in the NHL
- 5:38Speaker 4: if you put in that work. And I think one
- 5:40Speaker 4: of the stats that really jumps out to me is
- 5:42Speaker 4: that the Kraken skate more than any other team. You
- 5:45Speaker 4: look at the NHL edge stats and the Krakens skate
- 5:48Speaker 4: more miles on average per team per game than anybody
- 5:51Speaker 4: else in the league, and so it shows the Lane
- 5:53Speaker 4: Lambert system. It's demanding a lot of the players, but
- 5:55Speaker 4: so far they're delivering.
- 5:57Speaker 2: I think we're going to see a little bit of
- 5:58Speaker 2: that put into place once again for the back to
- 6:00Speaker 2: back when that happens this week, because it didn't go
- 6:02Speaker 2: so well first time out Philadelphia and Washington different circumstances here,
- 6:07Speaker 2: but more of this being put into place coming up
- 6:10Speaker 2: here for Saint Louis and Dallas when this home stand ends.
- 6:13Speaker 2: So yeah, I think whether it's the wins on the
- 6:17Speaker 2: road that this team has bagged already, like at Toronto
- 6:21Speaker 2: at Winnipeg, or maybe it's the injuries and overcoming them
- 6:25Speaker 2: with Jeed mccannon on a shelf for so long, or
- 6:28Speaker 2: anything else. What's the biggest surprise to you about this team?
- 6:32Speaker 4: Man? I think there's the consistent effort, but also just
- 6:35Speaker 4: like yeah, just that they're having that success despite the injuries.
- 6:38Speaker 4: But I think also the luck, because I think there's
- 6:41Speaker 4: that element too. Where to me, it feels like the
- 6:44Speaker 4: krakenner are starting to feel a little bit like that
- 6:46Speaker 4: team of destiny we see it every year in the NHL.
- 6:49Speaker 4: There's one or two teams that nobody predicted would make
- 6:52Speaker 4: the playoffs. And who's underlying numbers. Maybe you don't even
- 6:54Speaker 4: look that good like the Krack and don't jump off
- 6:56Speaker 4: the page when you look at the stats. But they
- 6:58Speaker 4: play hard, they get good goaltending, and they get a
- 7:01Speaker 4: little bit of the luck too, and so far, I
- 7:02Speaker 4: think the cracket maybe tracking that way, and so when
- 7:06Speaker 4: they're play well, they're rewarded for it. When they don't
- 7:08Speaker 4: play well, it feels like they're still rewarded for it
- 7:09Speaker 4: a little bit. And I think that's one of those
- 7:11Speaker 4: hallmarks of the team of destiny where it's hard to quantify,
- 7:15Speaker 4: but it feels like luck has been on the crack
- 7:16Speaker 4: and side as well, in addition to the work. I
- 7:19Speaker 4: don't want to say that it's undeserved. They're putting in
- 7:21Speaker 4: the work, but they're making their own luck too. And
- 7:23Speaker 4: that's after last season where it felt like so many
- 7:25Speaker 4: things went wrong. It feels like a bit of a surprise.
- 7:28Speaker 2: Yeah right. I mean coaches will often say that you
- 7:30Speaker 2: work hard for your own luck, and things bounce that way,
- 7:32Speaker 2: you can't track it. Maybe with deep analytics here, But
- 7:35Speaker 2: that's just how it shakes out as a cracking through
- 7:37Speaker 2: twelve games right now so far. Pardon me, carrying a
- 7:42Speaker 2: record right now of sixty two and four sixteen points
- 7:46Speaker 2: in the Pacific Division. Diving into the game against Chicago
- 7:51Speaker 2: from two nights ago, three to one victory, I think
- 7:54Speaker 2: to me it was impressive, not just from the standpoint
- 7:58Speaker 2: of they were able to get out of a relatively
- 8:01Speaker 2: low event and game. Maybe we're questioning shots on goal
- 8:04Speaker 2: for the first half and it look kind of eerily
- 8:06Speaker 2: similar to the New York Rangers game here, but also
- 8:09Speaker 2: the time that they spent early on back again in
- 8:12Speaker 2: their own defensive zone, and we're I think it may
- 8:14Speaker 2: be oh, but then a shot by Jamie Alexia finds
- 8:18Speaker 2: its way in and Maddie Baniers kicks in a power
- 8:20Speaker 2: play goal off of filthy pass from Jordan Everly. So
- 8:24Speaker 2: you know, I think from the standpoint of they were
- 8:27Speaker 2: able to fire their game up late in the third
- 8:30Speaker 2: period and eventually pulled away said something where they weren't
- 8:34Speaker 2: staring overtime again right smack in the face. What was
- 8:38Speaker 2: your takeaway from two nights ago?
- 8:40Speaker 4: And I think this is a pattern that we're seeing
- 8:42Speaker 4: with the Kraken where maybe they don't always have the
- 8:44Speaker 4: hottest starts, but they're really good at escaping those early plays.
- 8:48Speaker 4: And I feel like, one of these days, all these
- 8:50Speaker 4: backdoor plays are great chances they let into early, it's
- 8:53Speaker 4: going to connect. Just one of these games for some
- 8:55Speaker 4: team and they're gonna put up like seven. But that's
- 8:57Speaker 4: okay because most of the time it doesn't happen, and
- 9:00Speaker 4: they just waited out and they score first, as they
- 9:02Speaker 4: have so many times this season, and at that point
- 9:04Speaker 4: they just feel confident, and you see their opponent their
- 9:07Speaker 4: confidence just starts to fade away as the game goes
- 9:10Speaker 4: on and they realize, man, we're not scoring. It's going
- 9:13Speaker 4: to be really difficult to score to beat this defensive
- 9:16Speaker 4: core and Joey to coord And you saw that in
- 9:18Speaker 4: the start of the third period two against Chicago, where
- 9:21Speaker 4: I mean, that was the worst that Chicago had played
- 9:23Speaker 4: all game. Normally, you expect a team to put on
- 9:25Speaker 4: a push as they're trying to tie the game, but
- 9:26Speaker 4: they just felt kind of tired and demoralized at the
- 9:29Speaker 4: start of the third and I seek the crack and
- 9:31Speaker 4: are doing that to a lot of their opponents. When
- 9:33Speaker 4: they score first.
- 9:34Speaker 2: Joey Decord empty net goalie goal by New Year's Day
- 9:38Speaker 2: against Nashville over under.
- 9:40Speaker 4: I think by New Year's Day. No, I think it'll
- 9:42Speaker 4: be in twenty twenty six. I think he'll score. But
- 9:45Speaker 4: in twenty twenty six, you think maybe.
- 9:47Speaker 2: About you know, two years after the winner classic and
- 9:49Speaker 2: maybe what was as big as signature when it'd be
- 9:52Speaker 2: funny if that was maybe a signature moment where he
- 9:54Speaker 2: all of a sudden, you know, tucks one in New
- 9:57Speaker 2: Year's Day again on this schedule, and I think for me,
- 10:00Speaker 2: it's it's a matter of time where it's going to
- 10:03Speaker 2: happen one of these days here for Joey to Cord
- 10:05Speaker 2: and he's gonna launch a PGA Tour sixty foot high
- 10:09Speaker 2: lob shot over everyone and there is no defense stopping
- 10:13Speaker 2: that thing as it rolls all the way down the ice.
- 10:15Speaker 2: Because it almost happened twice and the other night against Chicago, yeah, he.
- 10:18Speaker 4: Went for it twice. Love to see the confidence from
- 10:20Speaker 4: you know, he's not going to stop shooting, as he said,
- 10:22Speaker 4: shoot or shoot, So I shot it right, and he's
- 10:25Speaker 4: gonna keep shooting. And I love that he told us
- 10:27Speaker 4: that specifically I'm gonna keep shooting it, don't worry. So
- 10:30Speaker 4: it's only a matter of time for Joey to Cord.
- 10:32Speaker 4: We'll just see when it is.
- 10:34Speaker 2: Rgscano is joining us from Emerald City Hockey here on
- 10:36Speaker 2: Cracking this morning. As we're getting stuff with the Cracking
- 10:38Speaker 2: and Sharks, we'll get here to more. I think of
- 10:41Speaker 2: one of the more young, exciting but sneaky, dangerous teams,
- 10:45Speaker 2: and it has a similar feel to Chicago. But I
- 10:48Speaker 2: want to touch on Berkeley Catton for a little bit,
- 10:50Speaker 2: and time is getting short as far as decision day.
- 10:55Speaker 2: He's got seven games already under his belt, two more
- 11:00Speaker 2: and then the Crack and have to decide what they
- 11:02Speaker 2: want to do with him long term before that first
- 11:06Speaker 2: year of his deal kicks. In three assaysts so far,
- 11:10Speaker 2: we have seen him play up and down the lineup.
- 11:13Speaker 2: They've tried him at center, they moved him back to
- 11:15Speaker 2: the wing. So RJ, if I can get your eyes
- 11:19Speaker 2: on this to you, what's your read on Berkeley Catton
- 11:22Speaker 2: as far as him staying long term versus going back
- 11:25Speaker 2: to major Junior.
- 11:27Speaker 4: Yeah, well, I think with Berkeley Catton, you know, there's
- 11:28Speaker 4: some positives to his game. I think He's certainly looked
- 11:31Speaker 4: like he's belonged playing with some good players with Matty
- 11:33Speaker 4: Beniers and Jordan Everley. But there are some drawbacks as well,
- 11:36Speaker 4: and I think that line lost a bit of its
- 11:38Speaker 4: juice the last few games, and so you saw the
- 11:40Speaker 4: crack and change that up. For the Chicago game, Berkeley
- 11:42Speaker 4: Catton plays as the fourth line center, plays a lot
- 11:45Speaker 4: fewer minutes, and maybe if you know Ben Myers isn't
- 11:48Speaker 4: kind of a last minute scratch, that you do something different.
- 11:50Speaker 4: I think going forward with him, they've got a couple
- 11:53Speaker 4: more games here that I think you could play him.
- 11:55Speaker 4: But I think really the plan should be once you
- 11:58Speaker 4: hit that nine game mark or a little bit short
- 12:00Speaker 4: of it, you do the thing where you scratch him
- 12:02Speaker 4: for five games, then he's eligible for a two week
- 12:04Speaker 4: conditioning stint and Coachella Valley. I would love to see
- 12:06Speaker 4: what Berkeley Catton could do in CV for a couple
- 12:09Speaker 4: weeks on that Firebirds team. I think ideally that's where
- 12:12Speaker 4: you would have had him the whole season, but because
- 12:14Speaker 4: of the rules in the NHL COCHL agreement, you can't
- 12:16Speaker 4: do that. But I think that would be the plan
- 12:18Speaker 4: if I was in charge that's the plan, and then
- 12:20Speaker 4: that leads you up to the World Juniors. He can
- 12:22Speaker 4: play in the World Juniors, and then you see where
- 12:24Speaker 4: he's from from there, and more importantly, you see where
- 12:27Speaker 4: the team is at. Are the Krakens still in a
- 12:29Speaker 4: playoff spot potentially? You know where are they trending? Can
- 12:33Speaker 4: you give him enough ice time to develop him? And
- 12:34Speaker 4: if not, maybe you think about Spokane.
- 12:36Speaker 2: I mean, I don't think it makes a difference here obviously,
- 12:38Speaker 2: but it just kind of makes you think the role
- 12:41Speaker 2: that's going to get put into place next year maybe
- 12:43Speaker 2: helps out a guy like Jack O'Brien. But you can't
- 12:46Speaker 2: help but think how much more of a runway that
- 12:48Speaker 2: Berkeley Catton could have right now if he could play
- 12:51Speaker 2: more games in the American Hockey leagu for example.
- 12:54Speaker 4: Definitely, and it's a great rule change that the NHL
- 12:57Speaker 4: and CHL are going to make. It's gonna help so
- 12:59Speaker 4: many players. I mean, with Jacobrien, you look what he's
- 13:01Speaker 4: doing in juniors, he's leading the OHL in scoring. Next year,
- 13:04Speaker 4: he's going to have nothing to learn at the junior
- 13:07Speaker 4: level and so that's going to help him be where
- 13:08Speaker 4: he really should be.
- 13:10Speaker 2: Got unsung hero on this team so far rj.
- 13:14Speaker 4: Unsung hero, Yes, I do. I think it's Jamie Alexiak.
- 13:17Speaker 4: I'm going way unsung because I mean, he did score
- 13:20Speaker 4: last night against Chicago, but I swear I said this
- 13:22Speaker 4: on our post game show the Ico Game. He did
- 13:25Speaker 4: get the F one helmet. I think it's well deserved goal. Aside,
- 13:29Speaker 4: I think he has been super solid defensively, and man,
- 13:32Speaker 4: he's just so much better of a fit for this
- 13:34Speaker 4: lane Lambert system and the way they want to play,
- 13:36Speaker 4: the way they want to clear out around the front
- 13:39Speaker 4: of the net. Then say he was last year under
- 13:41Speaker 4: Dan Bilesmath's system. This system just fits im perfectly and
- 13:45Speaker 4: you rarely ever noticed and make a mistake. I haven't
- 13:47Speaker 4: noticed him make one giant mistake all year, and so
- 13:50Speaker 4: kind of guy that's not going to get a lot
- 13:52Speaker 4: of headlines if he's not scoring a goal, but he's
- 13:55Speaker 4: playing so solid defensively.
- 13:57Speaker 2: I mean, it's funny because we're all wandering about three
- 13:59Speaker 2: months ago, what's this team gonna do with just the
- 14:02Speaker 2: surplus a defenseman they have, and all of a sudden boom,
- 14:05Speaker 2: Ryker Evans is on the shelf for several weeks. So
- 14:08Speaker 2: this is partially where his game is kicking in with
- 14:11Speaker 2: Josh Mhura. Being that Riker Evans has not yet been
- 14:15Speaker 2: cleared to play. I want to get to San Jose
- 14:18Speaker 2: coming up here this evening, first matchup for the Krack
- 14:20Speaker 2: and that they will see with them, And this to
- 14:23Speaker 2: me is one of these danger zone type of matchups
- 14:27Speaker 2: because it seems as if again they're trying to rebuild
- 14:30Speaker 2: this thing, just like Chicago. The Crakens saw them two
- 14:33Speaker 2: nights ago, and they can be a long ways away
- 14:37Speaker 2: from true contention. But do they have a lot of
- 14:40Speaker 2: young and impressive parts they are putting in here on
- 14:43Speaker 2: this roster. Matt Vinceelabrini, Will Smith maybe defensively down the road,
- 14:48Speaker 2: Sam Dickinson, he started out this year with them, as well,
- 14:51Speaker 2: William Ecklund. So this is a team that you can't
- 14:54Speaker 2: sleep on. And I would think again, you ask New Jersey,
- 14:57Speaker 2: you ask Colorado, and you ask even the Red Wings
- 15:01Speaker 2: from earlier this week. Don't sleep on any game with
- 15:05Speaker 2: the San Jose Sharks.
- 15:07Speaker 4: Yeah, the Sharks have shown they can be anybody on
- 15:09Speaker 4: any given night because of that talent that they have.
- 15:12Speaker 4: It's a rough blue line, but man, that young forward
- 15:14Speaker 4: group in a few years is going to be I
- 15:16Speaker 4: think the envy of the NHL, certainly of the Pacific Division.
- 15:19Speaker 4: And you mentioned guys like Macklin, celebrity, Will Smith. Don't
- 15:23Speaker 4: forget Michael Misa also well the top picks out of
- 15:25Speaker 4: this year's draft, and he's doing well at eighteen, So
- 15:28Speaker 4: they've got a lot of talent.
- 15:30Speaker 2: If we can entertain a fun question about Maclin celebrity RJ,
- 15:33Speaker 2: because you follow this team for a long long time,
- 15:37Speaker 2: will he finish short of a career as good as
- 15:40Speaker 2: Joe Thornton and Patrick Marlow, as good as Joe Thornton
- 15:44Speaker 2: and Patrick Marlow, or better than Joe Thornton and Patrick Marlow.
- 15:49Speaker 4: Oh man, you got to put me on the spot
- 15:51Speaker 4: with that. Of course, I grew up watching Thornton and
- 15:53Speaker 4: Marlow and they are just absolute legends. It's so early
- 15:57Speaker 4: to say, but I think what might put him ahead
- 16:00Speaker 4: of Thornton and Marlowe is if he wins the Stanley Cup.
- 16:04Speaker 4: And I think the way that team is building, it's
- 16:06Speaker 4: super early to say anything about whether they can get
- 16:08Speaker 4: over the hump, but they've got the start and they've
- 16:10Speaker 4: got the pieces. I love the way Macklin Celebrini plays.
- 16:14Speaker 4: I think what differs, you know, makes him different from
- 16:15Speaker 4: Thornton and Marlowe is just like the compete on the puck.
- 16:20Speaker 4: I mean, Dylan was saying this the other day on
- 16:22Speaker 4: our post game show. I want to credit him because
- 16:24Speaker 4: he's a big dog guy, but he's like, if you've
- 16:25Speaker 4: ever seen an over excited yellow lab like just came
- 16:29Speaker 4: home from the dog park, has a ball in his mouth,
- 16:31Speaker 4: that's Macklin Celebrini. He's bouncing all over the place. He
- 16:34Speaker 4: wants that ball. He's not going to let you have
- 16:36Speaker 4: that ball. And that's the way Celebrini plays around the puck,
- 16:39Speaker 4: and it's just it's something to watch. I don't know
- 16:41Speaker 4: if you saw the video of him and Ritz Cider
- 16:42Speaker 4: going back and forth in that Shark's Red Wings game,
- 16:45Speaker 4: but man, the kid just does not quit.
- 16:47Speaker 2: See now, I have to get RJ back on here
- 16:49Speaker 2: sometime and say, RJ, give me what dogs you've had
- 16:52Speaker 2: previously in your lifetime here, because we have a lot
- 16:54Speaker 2: to unpack.
- 16:56Speaker 4: I'm more of a cap person. Dylan's the dog expert here.
- 17:00Speaker 4: I love the comparison, so I'm gonna steal it. I'll
- 17:02Speaker 4: give Dylan credit here, but I wanted to mention.
- 17:04Speaker 2: It I had both growing up Maclin celebrating by the way, ooh,
- 17:08Speaker 2: no big deal. Eighteen points in thirteen games and as
- 17:11Speaker 2: of right now he is well ahead of the curve
- 17:13Speaker 2: if you want to compare ages to where Joe Thornton
- 17:16Speaker 2: was out of age nineteen and Patrick Marlowe where he
- 17:19Speaker 2: was at age nineteen. Looking forward to it, RJ, thank
- 17:22Speaker 2: you very much once again, tell us and tell those
- 17:25Speaker 2: tuning in where they can find your work.
- 17:27Speaker 4: Yeah, thanks so much for having me at Emerald City
- 17:29Speaker 4: Hky on x and Instagram, and then the Deep Dive podcast.
- 17:34Speaker 4: That's our weekly cracking podcast anywhere you find your podcast
- 17:37Speaker 4: and on YouTube. We got the video version there too.
- 17:39Speaker 2: All right, that's RJ Eskanos joining us from Emerald City Hockey.
- 17:43Speaker 2: Always appreciate having him join us for a few moments
- 17:46Speaker 2: of insight and getting ahead of here for this evening's game,
- 17:48Speaker 2: the Kraken with points in ten of their first twelve games,
- 17:53Speaker 2: and they're looking to extend their run unbeaten and regulation
- 17:56Speaker 2: on home ice, currently four oh and two to begin
- 18:00Speaker 2: the regular season at Climate Pledge Arena. With a win,
- 18:03Speaker 2: the Kraken can also grab their six win and eight
- 18:06Speaker 2: tries at home over San Jose, also looking to improve
- 18:09Speaker 2: a nine and six overall record, and it won't be
- 18:12Speaker 2: long until they square off again in just ten days
- 18:15Speaker 2: from now, that game, same place, right back here at
- 18:19Speaker 2: Climate Pledge Arena, and then these two teams wrapping things
- 18:22Speaker 2: up as far as the season series before Christmas December
- 18:25Speaker 2: twenty for the Krack and only visit to San Jose.
- 18:29Speaker 2: Among the names to watch, Jordan Everley not just right now,
- 18:33Speaker 2: sharing the Kraken scoring lead with twelve points in ten games.
- 18:36Speaker 2: Like Jaden Schwartz, it's Everle who right now leads all
- 18:39Speaker 2: Kraken skaters all time against San Jose twenty nine points,
- 18:44Speaker 2: by the way, also tied for first on the KRACK
- 18:47Speaker 2: and all time with eleven goals with Jayden Schwartz also
- 18:50Speaker 2: who's got twenty seven points in thirty five games in
- 18:54Speaker 2: his career against San Jose. On the Shark side, they
- 18:58Speaker 2: might be a ways away from I'm putting it all
- 19:00Speaker 2: together long term, but you can see already glimpses of
- 19:03Speaker 2: their future kicking in as far as production and results.
- 19:07Speaker 2: The Sharks four six and three with eleven points so
- 19:10Speaker 2: far in thirteen games. Most recently they took Detroit all
- 19:15Speaker 2: the way into overtime, losing three to two in a shootout.
- 19:18Speaker 2: And even though players like celebrity William Ecklund and Will
- 19:22Speaker 2: Smith are grabbing plenty of attention, the hottest right now
- 19:25Speaker 2: as far as the Sharks offensively is Philip Kurashev coming
- 19:28Speaker 2: in with a five game point streak. He's got eight
- 19:30Speaker 2: points in that spam. Looking forward to it. Hope you
- 19:33Speaker 2: can join us here for another night of the Krack
- 19:36Speaker 2: and rolling out their alternate third jersey. Certainly it is
- 19:39Speaker 2: made to menace and the Krack and trying to put
- 19:42Speaker 2: together a menacing cause against the San Jose Sharks this
- 19:45Speaker 2: evening at seven o'clock again, airtime coverage opening up at
- 19:49Speaker 2: six point thirty. We hope that you can join us.
- 19:51Speaker 2: Big thank you to our j eskinos for joining us
- 19:53Speaker 2: and for Krakin this morning. I'm Mike Benton. Have a
- 19:56Speaker 2: happy Wednesday.
- 19:57Speaker 1: You're home for the Krakton Sports Radio Night twenty three
