- 3:09[SPEAKER_02]: Michael, she said, how can those PureTalk people offer me the same basic services Verizon for so much less money?
- 3:15[SPEAKER_02]: I said, ma, go ask Google how much Verizon spends on advertising and promotions.
- 3:20[SPEAKER_02]: Few seconds later, my mother said, oh my goodness, $12 billion a year, that must be a typo.
- 3:27[SPEAKER_02]: I'll tell you what I told my mom, it's not a typo.
- 3:30[SPEAKER_02]: Verizon spends $12 billion a year on advertising and promotions, and their customers are paying for it.
- 3:36[SPEAKER_02]: Well, peer talk doesn't spend that kind of money on commercials, trust me.

- 4:28[SPEAKER_21]: To promote the Trump administration's ice rates, family members say they're devastated to see Rockwell's work marshaled for the cause of what they call persecution toward immigrant communities and people of color.

- 6:51[SPEAKER_13]: The hotline with Jeff Graham is right here, a good afternoon to you, wanted all pleasant day outside, not really spectacular or anything, but not raining, not doing anything bad, so that's all you can ask for here we are in the up.
- 7:02[SPEAKER_13]: early parts of November, yeah, the gales of November, whatever we get this month, what's going on in the world?
- 7:12[SPEAKER_13]: A lot of things are going on in the world, but there were elections yesterday on a national level, Democrats are celebrating winning gucaditorial races in Virginia and New Jersey, particularly if the New Jersey one were the margin for
- 7:29[SPEAKER_13]: My he's Cheryl governor elect my he's Cheryl was larger than expected and then of course The election of Zorhan Momsdami as the new mayor of New York City.
- 7:40[SPEAKER_13]: He was out at introducing his transition team to it's all female to all female and He's gonna take on the president.
- 7:51[SPEAKER_13]: I don't know.
- 7:51[SPEAKER_13]: I'm tired of people who get elected.
- 7:54[SPEAKER_13]: So I'm gonna fight I don't want to fight
- 7:59[SPEAKER_13]: Yeah, and the same thing with the president, you know, he should call these people today in congratulatum and which are well, because he's going to be marriage and we're first no matter what.
- 8:15[SPEAKER_13]: Uh, let's see, um, other things going on, you know, kind of up kind of an interesting political race, and that's these state supreme court justices.
- 8:26[SPEAKER_13]: Remember, there were eight candidates running for four seats.
- 8:28[SPEAKER_13]: Couple of them that came in here on the hotline.
- 8:30[SPEAKER_13]: Both those candidates want, including Candace Randall, the lawyer from Lewis County, also a town justice and Pinkney and Monica U and all those hairs, whatever they are.
- 8:43[SPEAKER_13]: And so she, she want to see it on stake supreme course.
- 8:47[SPEAKER_13]: She'll be sitting in Laoville and replaced Nathaniel Merrill, who I'd retired.
- 8:52[SPEAKER_13]: That's kind of big news.
- 8:54[SPEAKER_13]: Now it doesn't get.
- 8:55[SPEAKER_13]: reported because he got to understand he can't just take the Jefferson County results for Supreme Court and put him on a screen and say that's those are the results.
- 9:04[SPEAKER_13]: It's a six-county district and the reason is Randall won and Snyder 14o and Mr. Dylan, the three Democrats,
- 9:22[SPEAKER_13]: is on endogga county results.
- 9:23[SPEAKER_13]: I look at those and there's a big margin for the Democrats and on endogga county.
- 9:27[SPEAKER_13]: That's going to change probably next year after the governor signs a bill that will take on endogga out of our judicial district.
- 9:35[SPEAKER_13]: That'll make that guaranteed democratic seats there.
- 9:38[SPEAKER_13]: But the awful tough for a Democrat to win in the other five counties.
- 9:43[SPEAKER_13]: So Candice Randall and Lydia Young did not make the cut.
- 9:51[SPEAKER_13]: I don't know, I don't know what the problem was there, but she's been she was boxed out by the party who buys last year out of race she wanted to run for family court and then they gave her this nomination or dad or father and log out at four and she wasn't able to win so maybe maybe in the future another judge ship will come up you never know.
- 10:17[SPEAKER_13]: Now, let's see what else is going on.
- 10:19[SPEAKER_13]: Oh, the city council race.
- 10:21[SPEAKER_13]: Well, congratulations.
- 10:22[SPEAKER_13]: Go out to councilman, like Gerer Brandt, and Osborne, the apparent winners in that race, of course, based on unofficial numbers, and we say unofficial for a reason, they won.
- 10:35[SPEAKER_13]: And they've got enough of a margin over Peter Monaco who finished third if they shouldn't have a problem.
- 10:41[SPEAKER_13]: When you hear someone say there's 200 absentees out there, that's not really true.
- 10:47[SPEAKER_13]: As you know, when we were talking to the commissioner of the other day, on Monday we said there were 451 absentees sent out to city voters of what's 220 had been returned.
- 10:59[SPEAKER_13]: There may be a few of those in the mail, and full.
- 11:03[SPEAKER_13]: Most of them probably weren't returned, and others in that group may have chosen the vote in person, in which case they would have been counted yesterday.
- 11:09[SPEAKER_13]: So, they really are not 200 absentees out there, or two.
- 11:13[SPEAKER_13]: It's possible there could be a transcription error or a data error or something that could change it as we saw in the primary.
- 11:20[SPEAKER_13]: But unlikely.
- 11:22[SPEAKER_13]: So with those two in now, that's a big win.
- 11:26[SPEAKER_13]: Oh, incidentally, Mayor Pierce dropped off a proclamation today.
- 11:30[SPEAKER_13]: She wants to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the children's miracle network radio thought, which is going on right now in the capable hands of one Johnny Spazano.
- 11:42[SPEAKER_13]: So anyway, yesterday's election was a big win for Mayor Pierce and City Manager Wagon are putting people in there that, well, we can work with obviously Monaco and Velasca as the other two candidates.
- 11:59[SPEAKER_13]: Although I think they had a lot of good issues, they were a little sharper in their elbows under the basket.
- 12:05[SPEAKER_13]: So I think
- 12:08[SPEAKER_13]: There's clearly the last thing that the manager wanted was Pete Monaco to get in there.
- 12:13[SPEAKER_13]: So they've got a couple people who are very bright people and hopefully we'll do a good job.
- 12:23[SPEAKER_13]: Now here's the deal.
- 12:25[SPEAKER_13]: What they knew to do is rest and think about what they want to do in their new term and talk to their future colleagues.
- 12:32[SPEAKER_13]: If I were given one piece of advice and this is what we did in the back
- 12:38[SPEAKER_13]: Keith, Kevin Keith, and Goodwin were a goodwin tonight.
- 12:41[SPEAKER_13]: They said, oh, why don't you come and sit in on our executives?
- 12:43[SPEAKER_13]: There'd been a lot of controversy in City Hall at the time.
- 12:46[SPEAKER_13]: He said, no, we'll take office, Jade, and we're first.
- 12:51[SPEAKER_13]: And that's a good thing they don't get sucked into executive sessions before the first of the year.
- 12:56[SPEAKER_13]: Don't be part of the decision-making process of people who've been repudiated, bad move.
- 13:02[SPEAKER_13]: You know, just privately get to know your new colleagues.
- 13:06[SPEAKER_13]: relay your priorities and concerns to manage matter if you're happy with the management of this there now.
- 13:17[SPEAKER_13]: And do that over the next of the interregulars that what they call that period in between.
- 13:24[SPEAKER_13]: Is that one of those fancy words?
- 13:26[SPEAKER_13]: Maybe I shouldn't use that here.
- 13:28[SPEAKER_13]: Yeah, maybe it.
- 13:30[SPEAKER_13]: so anyway that's what's going on with city hall uh... the race is not really too close to call you have to a parent winners uh... let's see what else is going on uh... we've talked about the supreme court race there were other races uh... in the county a lot of town things and villages and all of that now apparently the uh...
- 13:55[SPEAKER_13]: postponement of trick or treating did not have an adverse effect on the mayor of black river he was able to hang on to his seat and as far as other races you know you can look up on the news junkie or whatever I don't know what really anything going on and I didn't catch the audience for one I know a lot of people from up in that area listen but I don't know the results so the acquitted already I'm
- 14:25[SPEAKER_13]: Well, there's storm activity possible today.
- 14:27[SPEAKER_13]: National grid crews say they're prepared for the activity.
- 14:31[SPEAKER_13]: Stay away from downed wires.
- 14:35[SPEAKER_13]: Yeah.
- 14:40[SPEAKER_13]: Also, somebody wants to know if I'm reading it right as far as the Supreme Court results.
- 14:48[SPEAKER_13]: Well, I got it from Syracuse.com.
- 14:51[SPEAKER_13]: I was looking at their thing.
- 14:52[SPEAKER_13]: I guess you can go to the New York Board
- 14:55[SPEAKER_13]: Send a text of congratulations to just as Randall this morning.
- 15:00[SPEAKER_13]: And he thanked us for helping push her over the top.
- 15:03[SPEAKER_13]: So, I'd, well, this person said it was McCloskey Young Kilmarton and Amroso.
- 15:13[SPEAKER_13]: That would have been the Jefferson County returns.
- 15:17[SPEAKER_13]: It's a six-county district.
- 15:18[SPEAKER_13]: It's like who's congressional districts have 12 counties like ours.
- 15:22[SPEAKER_13]: So you have to take the votes from all six.
- 15:24[SPEAKER_13]: You can't just take the Jefferson County results and go on TV and say these people want.
- 15:30[SPEAKER_13]: That's, that's it's not right.
- 15:32[SPEAKER_13]: So you gotta add all six.
- 15:34[SPEAKER_13]: So you can go to the New York State Board of Elections, they do it for you, and if I'm wrong, I'll apologize, but I don't think I am.
- 15:41[SPEAKER_13]: Good afternoon, you're on the air.
- 15:46[SPEAKER_13]: Is this Peter Matico?
- 15:52[SPEAKER_13]: Well, good, good.
- 15:54[SPEAKER_09]: Just wanted to cut calls and just wanted to.
- 15:57[SPEAKER_09]: So many of the hotline listeners who voted for them, thank you.
- 16:02[SPEAKER_09]: And there you go.
- 16:04[SPEAKER_09]: I congratulate the two front runners, Mr. Garrett Brant, and I was born last night as much chat was Anthony called me last night about 11.
- 16:17[SPEAKER_09]: The fuck I believe he was over here, the establishment,
- 16:23[SPEAKER_06]: Mm-hmm.
- 16:24[SPEAKER_09]: Good campaign, isn't it?
- 16:26[SPEAKER_09]: Hey, it went some, you lose some, and, uh, it's like told the, uh, that the news gentleman who was here at my house last night, he said, what are you going to do today?
- 16:38[SPEAKER_09]: And I said, well, you know, I hope I wake up, but my feet on the floor, take the show and go to storage and get a coffee, and I did exactly that.
- 16:48[SPEAKER_13]: Okay, you're all set for the day, and you've got to, you've got to, you've got to
- 16:52[SPEAKER_13]: You think you'll run again in two years because we got a couple of open seats in two years.
- 16:57[SPEAKER_09]: Oh, you never say never, but you gotta see what the landscape.
- 17:04[SPEAKER_09]: You know, I wouldn't have done anything differently because at this time, you know, I didn't what I thought I had to do.
- 17:14[SPEAKER_09]: And people spoke and they, I accept, you know,
- 17:19[SPEAKER_13]: But you had raised the issue of fiscal problems with the city and you were quite outspoken on it.
- 17:27[SPEAKER_13]: And some of the things you were saying, I don't think you were the favored candidate of the third floor.
- 17:34[SPEAKER_13]: Is that fair to say?
- 17:36[SPEAKER_09]: Oh, nobody ever officially told me that, but you know, I've been there.
- 17:42[SPEAKER_09]: I was around the city a long time.
- 17:43[SPEAKER_09]: I know what whole things operate.
- 17:48[SPEAKER_09]: I brought up points, probably during budget and during even soon as I got in, the other folks aren't aware of, but, you know, just because they got the experience, that doesn't make me, I'm going to see on the third place, so...
- 18:05[UNKNOWN]: Okay.
- 18:06[SPEAKER_13]: Well, sure does, and we appreciate you running and putting the effort in, and I know you're a, you know, a cost money to run, I know that, which has spent 8,000,
- 18:18[SPEAKER_09]: I don't have, I don't have, I don't have, ever take, probably, but not over, and you know, I ran some ads, news junk ads, commercials for the primary, and the general on your show, I had a vector news commercial at ran for seven days, I had, I don't know.
- 18:44[SPEAKER_09]: I've started to pick up the other signs up this morning, probably you can buy a half-up or a missing.
- 18:48[SPEAKER_09]: You know, the other signs are $10, $11 a piece.
- 18:51[SPEAKER_09]: And I don't like that spot.
- 18:53[SPEAKER_09]: I don't know, 125 of them, and...
- 18:55[SPEAKER_13]: Right.
- 18:56[SPEAKER_13]: Well, listen, you know, pick them up and save them.
- 18:58[SPEAKER_13]: You never know.
- 18:59[SPEAKER_13]: You might need them in two years.
- 19:01[SPEAKER_09]: Well, you never know.
- 19:02[SPEAKER_09]: Maybe I'm not throwing them away.
- 19:03[SPEAKER_13]: Well, I'll tell you how I read this whole thing, because Ben Schoen has...
- 19:09[SPEAKER_13]: openly said he doesn't want to run again, the word from the mean girls is that the mayor is not going to run again.
- 19:16[SPEAKER_13]: I think Dr. Kimmel runs for mayor so that creates two open seats in 2027.
- 19:24[SPEAKER_13]: I don't know.
- 19:24[SPEAKER_09]: I have a memory never seen ever.
- 19:28[SPEAKER_13]: I wouldn't be surprised a few armists of the mayor's seat so pretty.
- 19:31[SPEAKER_09]: I don't know that either.
- 19:33[SPEAKER_13]: Well, right.
- 19:34[SPEAKER_13]: I don't know.
- 19:34[SPEAKER_13]: Do you think Kimmel would be a lock on mayor if he ran?
- 19:39[SPEAKER_09]: I depends on who runs against him.
- 19:43[SPEAKER_13]: Yeah.
- 19:45[SPEAKER_13]: Now we'll see.
- 19:46[SPEAKER_13]: I don't know.
- 19:46[SPEAKER_13]: He's pretty well connected.
- 19:47[SPEAKER_13]: So.
- 19:48[SPEAKER_09]: He's a popular guy.
- 19:50[SPEAKER_09]: None of those votes in the last the council election in 2023.
- 19:58[SPEAKER_09]: He was a couple of hours in both.
- 20:01[SPEAKER_09]: You know, yes.
- 20:02[SPEAKER_09]: You know, that was I don't know the total number cast, but it was.
- 20:06[SPEAKER_09]: You know, like 1300 for Mr. Garerbrand, and it was not a lot of voters, I don't believe compared to the 23 election.
- 20:16[SPEAKER_09]: It just appeared to be, I think Kimbo had a couple thousand in shoulders on the 18 or 19.
- 20:21[SPEAKER_09]: He was, he was within a hundred and twenty or twenty five goals from him.
- 20:25[SPEAKER_13]: Yeah, it did not look to me like there was any more than like 2728
- 20:34[SPEAKER_09]: I gave it the best shot I had, and I had a tough time in the primary of that old, for those who remember that fifth award, this is the home award of our home territory for Osborne Gearbrent, you know, basically the power in the city is from Pumpskin Boulevard, and that
- 21:03[SPEAKER_13]: Oh, I know.
- 21:03[SPEAKER_09]: No, no, no.
- 21:04[SPEAKER_09]: Richard's drive, I've street that you know, that's where that's the power base and then appears.
- 21:11[SPEAKER_09]: It's been that way for a number of years.
- 21:14[SPEAKER_13]: Well, I can remember the old fourth and fifth words they were big.
- 21:17[SPEAKER_13]: And yeah, that's true.
- 21:20[SPEAKER_13]: If you look at the results, the polling places at Chestnut Street and Thompson Boulevard were by far the busiest.
- 21:27[SPEAKER_09]: You know, I did pretty well on the
- 21:29[SPEAKER_09]: I'm 15, down here in my neighborhood, I did pretty good on the north side, I worked on our side pretty good.
- 21:35[SPEAKER_13]: Yeah, but you know, the problem is I don't think, but 400 people at the most voted on the north side, it really wasn't.
- 21:41[SPEAKER_09]: It was pretty low, I think only had, I don't think there were 400 that say an Anthony's either, I think maybe three, high threes, and then, like I said, I worked the neighborhood
- 21:58[SPEAKER_09]: legislative district number 12, and I thought I had pretty good support up there, and I made, you know, but I obviously didn't change enough minds that won't for me, and I said, that's the home, that's the whole neighborhood for the other street candidate.
- 22:14[SPEAKER_09]: That was open, they split that up and I do a little better and pick up on the rest of the city.
- 22:20[SPEAKER_09]: But, you know, I, I know it's the primary, I did, I didn't do well up in that legislative district
- 22:29[SPEAKER_09]: I did do like curing, you know, six out of the eight polling places, they're not polling places, but eight out of six out of the election districts, and the first time, and well, you never know, give it a try again, we enjoyed, enjoyed talking with you and appreciate your service.
- 22:50[SPEAKER_13]: Okay.
- 22:55[SPEAKER_13]: All right, well, thank you, Mr. Mottico.
- 22:57[SPEAKER_13]: All right, mine up.
- 22:59[SPEAKER_13]: Peter Mottico, one of the four candidates, finalist.
- 23:02[SPEAKER_13]: Now, it has Cliff only conceded yet.
- 23:06[SPEAKER_13]: Is he done?
- 23:09[SPEAKER_13]: Or are we waiting for late returns from the hinterlands, wherever they are?
- 23:14[SPEAKER_13]: They're up in the park somewhere, I think.
- 23:16[SPEAKER_13]: I don't know.
- 23:16[SPEAKER_13]: I don't know if he's done.
- 23:24[SPEAKER_13]: you think they weren't listening to them last week at the council meeting wait a little next one who you know this is been a very trying time for some senior staff and so on and some council members and the doctor there he hasn't his contempt for uh... it's the only is palpable
- 23:51[SPEAKER_13]: And so that didn't soon.
- 23:55[SPEAKER_13]: Just really, there's a meeting on the 17th.
- 23:58[SPEAKER_13]: And then the December meetings, Christmas, nobody's paying any attention.
- 24:04[SPEAKER_13]: Yeah.
- 24:04[SPEAKER_13]: Good afternoon, Ryan.
- 24:05[SPEAKER_13]: Yeah.
- 24:06[SPEAKER_10]: Hey, get out of your nose, Jeff.
- 24:08[SPEAKER_13]: Fine.
- 24:09[SPEAKER_13]: What's up?
- 24:10[SPEAKER_10]: I don't think Cliff asked the conceit, because he wasn't technically on the ballot.
- 24:15[SPEAKER_10]: So he's right at the count for that.
- 24:16[SPEAKER_13]: Well, I don't know.
- 24:17[SPEAKER_13]: I mean, he may be,
- 24:21[SPEAKER_13]: I don't know what he's waiting for, but he can't, he can't concede here anyway.
- 24:25[SPEAKER_13]: So, well, assume he conceded.
- 24:28[SPEAKER_10]: Yeah, that's what I'm thinking.
- 24:30[SPEAKER_10]: I'm assuming he conceded once he didn't make, well, before he was even not even allowed on the ballot.
- 24:37[SPEAKER_06]: Mm-hmm.
- 24:38[SPEAKER_10]: I think the election turned out pretty good for the city.
- 24:41[SPEAKER_10]: I'm hoping.
- 24:42[SPEAKER_13]: Well, we'll see what happens.
- 24:43[SPEAKER_13]: They're both fine men and smart guys.
- 24:46[SPEAKER_10]: Yep, they are.
- 24:47[SPEAKER_10]: All right.
- 24:52[SPEAKER_10]: That's a turn down the building out on copying street yet.
- 24:57[SPEAKER_13]: No, no, that's we're preserving that as a historical thing, I think.
- 25:02[SPEAKER_10]: Oh, yeah, because of the redwood tree growing out of the gutter on the roof.
- 25:06[SPEAKER_13]: That would be it, yeah.
- 25:07[SPEAKER_13]: Okay.
- 25:09[SPEAKER_10]: All right, yep.
- 25:09[SPEAKER_13]: Thank you so much, yep, by now.
- 25:12[SPEAKER_13]: AJC, that wasn't a call it, seven brew has nothing to do with channel seven.
- 25:18[SPEAKER_13]: But it's a little coffee chain, and they have these little kiosks type things.
- 25:23[SPEAKER_13]: And remember, they were putting a foundation in over next to a public TV at Arsenal Street.
- 25:28[SPEAKER_13]: They had a hell of a time getting permission.
- 25:30[SPEAKER_13]: I mean, sewer permits and everything else and the whole planning regiment and everything.
- 25:36[SPEAKER_13]: And then yesterday, well, everybody was focused on the election.
- 25:40[SPEAKER_13]: They brought the store in and sat it down on the site.
- 25:44[SPEAKER_13]: Yeah.
- 25:45[SPEAKER_13]: It was like a modular thing pre-built.
- 25:48[SPEAKER_13]: Is that legal?
- 25:51[SPEAKER_13]: Yeah.
- 25:51[SPEAKER_13]: Is there an illegal sign on it or something?
- 25:55[SPEAKER_13]: Is there any signage on it?
- 25:57[SPEAKER_13]: Don't they have to get approved?
- 25:58[SPEAKER_13]: I don't know.
- 26:01[SPEAKER_13]: To me, I don't care.
- 26:02[SPEAKER_13]: What the thing up and get in business and generate some jobs and some money and go from there?
- 26:11[SPEAKER_13]: Is that fair enough?
- 26:14[SPEAKER_13]: All righty, what are we going on, uh, two to two?
- 26:17[SPEAKER_13]: Oh, there was the article.
- 26:18[SPEAKER_13]: Yeah, a news junkie.
- 26:20[SPEAKER_13]: I think that guy was looking at the county returns.
- 26:22[SPEAKER_13]: We brought that up.
- 26:24[SPEAKER_13]: There's the story is now posted news junkie on the, uh, three Democrats went on.
- 26:31[SPEAKER_13]: You know, that's, you don't normally see Democrats elected to those Supreme Court things.
- 26:36[SPEAKER_13]: Now, you know, granted with, and, you know, from his Randall to come out of,
- 26:45[SPEAKER_13]: Yeah, now she wasn't dorsed, and this was crucial by the town of Pinkney, highway super-intended.
- 26:55[SPEAKER_13]: Uh, and members who got hugged by Tisch James, and some of the Republicans were rumbling about that what she knew posed in her picture with Tisch James.
- 27:05[SPEAKER_13]: Now, I would pose for a picture with the attorney general.
- 27:09[SPEAKER_13]: I wouldn't bother me.
- 27:11[SPEAKER_13]: But, some people don't like her.
- 27:16[SPEAKER_13]: but she's a never-trumper, but she got away with posing with Tisch James, maybe it helped her, and she want to see 14-year- term.
- 27:24[SPEAKER_13]: Yep.
- 27:26[SPEAKER_13]: They're going to have a good Christmas at the Randall House hole this winter.
- 27:29[SPEAKER_13]: I'll tell ya.
- 27:33[SPEAKER_13]: OK, and that means some other lawyer gets a job, because she gets to hire a lock clerk.
- 27:39[SPEAKER_13]: And that's a good paying job, too.
- 27:42[SPEAKER_13]: So maybe, uh,
- 27:45[SPEAKER_13]: Maybe she could reach across party lines and hire Mikey hunger somebody.
- 27:50[SPEAKER_13]: Anyway, seven, five, five, 12, 40 is the phone number if you'd like to give us a call to be on the air, the show of shows.
- 27:59[SPEAKER_13]: We haven't had a chance to really go over all of this with the Oracle at Lisbon.
- 28:09[SPEAKER_13]: Um, not all of Russ's predictions and some people revel in the fact of if Russ or I predict something it doesn't happen.
- 28:16[SPEAKER_13]: Like, so what, you know, just tell him what we think.
- 28:20[SPEAKER_13]: He thought that, he thought that Cheter Relie was going to win in New Jersey and he got thumped.
- 28:28[SPEAKER_13]: He also thought Quamal was going to beat Mom Dami.
- 28:32[SPEAKER_13]: Yeah, and he thought the picture of just as Randall and Tisch was
- 28:38[SPEAKER_13]: was a kiss of death and would ensure her defeat and he was wrong on that too.
- 28:44[SPEAKER_13]: So, I don't know, he's right on a lot of things.
- 28:49[SPEAKER_13]: So now, now the other shoe, we're waiting for the shoe, the other shoe to drop.
- 28:54[SPEAKER_16]: And we'll talk about that in a moment.
- 29:04[SPEAKER_16]: The news and talk authority.
- 29:06[SPEAKER_22]: Northern New York, the Black Friday deals around at mattress express New York State's largest selection of mattresses and flex headbeds.

- 32:41[SPEAKER_13]: and that's the staphonic announcement expected announcement.
- 32:44[SPEAKER_13]: I don't have any insight information.
- 32:46[SPEAKER_13]: I'm not an insider.
- 32:48[SPEAKER_13]: But announcement for governor.
- 32:52[SPEAKER_13]: It was said that would be coming after the regular election.
- 32:55[SPEAKER_13]: I'm sure they want to wait till the mom-domy thing and everything settles down a little bit.
- 33:00[SPEAKER_13]: And then she wants to get in on
- 33:11[SPEAKER_13]: And, of course, that sets in motion other things who's going to run to replace her in Congress.
- 33:17[SPEAKER_13]: Many of the people within the sound of my voice live in the 21st district, you know.
- 33:24[SPEAKER_13]: So who's running for that other than it's got great really running?
- 33:30[SPEAKER_13]: Is the sticker mual running?
- 33:33[SPEAKER_13]: I don't know, well, that would be the next speculation.
- 33:38[SPEAKER_13]: I don't know who else, they're still here the name of Josh Parker up north, he's still here down, stuck the state senator from up north, and maybe some other names too.
- 33:50[SPEAKER_13]: But then if Scott Gray runs and that opens the assembly seat, we live in, and who's going to run there?
- 34:01[SPEAKER_13]: We had speculated on the possibility that the city manager, although I already has assured people that he's not, and he's going to get a new contract now with this new council.
- 34:11[SPEAKER_13]: And, oh goodness, a couple of people in St. Lawrence County who I never heard of.
- 34:20[SPEAKER_13]: And it's about it.
- 34:21[SPEAKER_13]: So there will be things that develop out of this.
- 34:32[SPEAKER_13]: and maybe if you want to do it right here in the hotline, we're available.

- 38:05[SPEAKER_13]: I'd get one of those, but what would I do with it?
- 38:09[SPEAKER_13]: Yeah, I'm too old for that.
- 38:11[SPEAKER_13]: But if I were younger, boy, I'd be hopping right on one of those.
- 38:16[SPEAKER_13]: Yes, sir, Reba.
- 38:17[SPEAKER_13]: Now, somebody text it in asking me if the assembly seat comes open because gray runs for Congress would merit pure speed interested in it.
- 38:27[SPEAKER_13]: And I, you know, we don't hear her name, but she's not, one of the mean girls told me last night, she's not going to run for mayor again.
- 38:35[SPEAKER_13]: I'm not sure the job would be fit if she,
- 38:38[SPEAKER_13]: knows all of it a bit.
- 38:40[SPEAKER_13]: That might be a good job.
- 38:41[SPEAKER_13]: I would vote for Mayor Peers for assembly.
- 38:44[SPEAKER_13]: If you want to run.
- 38:48[SPEAKER_13]: Hmm.
- 38:48[SPEAKER_13]: So we'll have to wait and see.
- 38:49[SPEAKER_13]: Um, and the great thing about assembly up here, you don't really have to do anything.
- 38:58[SPEAKER_13]: Now, I know you're Mr. Gray does work hard at stuff, and I do give him credit for that, but generally speaking,
- 39:07[SPEAKER_13]: in assembly seat from the North Country as one can see in some cases you don't have to do a heck of a lot so 140,000 a year and a lot you know it's a good deal it's a good deal so yeah if the mayor wants to run for assembly count me yet I'll be right there with a
- 39:38[SPEAKER_08]: Oh, not much, um, is there confusion with the McClusky, does he retain the seat?
- 39:45[SPEAKER_13]: Yeah, George McClusky was re-elected as we're three and three Democrats won the other seats.
- 39:51[SPEAKER_08]: Okay, yeah, that's where I was confused because I got an article that said that he was re-elected and then I read something else that I did can excuse me, but yeah, it turned out pretty good as far as I'm concerned with the city council race.
- 40:06[SPEAKER_13]: You're like the two people who got one?
- 40:09[SPEAKER_08]: Well, I voted for one of the two.
- 40:11[SPEAKER_08]: I voted for off-board.
- 40:13[SPEAKER_13]: Okay.
- 40:14[SPEAKER_08]: So, I'm, yeah, and then I wrote in Mr. Olmy.
- 40:19[SPEAKER_08]: Oh, okay.
- 40:20[SPEAKER_08]: Yeah, I wrote in my first write in Canada, actually, ever.
- 40:25[SPEAKER_08]: And that was more of a protest vote, really.
- 40:28[SPEAKER_08]: Because of the way I believe they were treated unfairly.
- 40:32[SPEAKER_08]: I do, I do believe that both Lisa, Rosario, and Kifoldney should have been on the ballot.
- 40:40[SPEAKER_13]: Yeah, well, I happen to think so too, I think the vote for two system we have, not a big fan of it, but it is what it is.
- 40:51[SPEAKER_13]: Okay?
- 40:52[SPEAKER_08]: Yeah.
- 40:53[SPEAKER_08]: Have a good day.
- 40:54[SPEAKER_13]: Thank you.
- 40:55[SPEAKER_13]: Yeah, I got these results on me.
- 40:58[SPEAKER_13]: The top vote gather in the fifth judicial district and all of these are unofficial returns could be, you know, it could be a correction, it could be a later arriving absentee or an affidavit ballot.
- 41:09[SPEAKER_13]: There's no indication to think there's anything that would change these results.
- 41:13[SPEAKER_13]: So we have to be candid.
- 41:16[SPEAKER_13]: Elizabeth Snyder, 14, or remember she was on the hotline day.
- 41:20[SPEAKER_13]: She was top with 82,557.
- 41:21[SPEAKER_13]: Our good buddy, our new pal, Candace Randall, 79, 234.
- 41:29[SPEAKER_13]: John Dillon, 76, 187.
- 41:40[SPEAKER_13]: and any go down to Gerard Snyder at 72-182, Lydia Young at 71-285, Patrick Kilmart at 71-161, and Gregory Amaroso, the guy from Rome, 69-78, not a lot of difference between top to bottom, but you know, the fact is, the top three vote getters were Democrats,
- 42:08[SPEAKER_13]: Mr. McCloskey slipped in there as well, so That's good.
- 42:14[SPEAKER_13]: I don't know do you have any thoughts on it?
- 42:16[SPEAKER_13]: Does it matter to any of you?
- 42:19[SPEAKER_13]: Probably not probably not But oh and the county clerk Juzelle meaks She was re-elected easily.
- 42:31[SPEAKER_13]: How about the other lady?
- 42:32[SPEAKER_13]: Oh, I'm Stan, is that her name?
- 42:34[SPEAKER_13]: She works in the clerk's office and ran against you know
- 42:38[SPEAKER_13]: That was like Braggman trying to unseat Shelley Silver, wasn't it?
- 42:44[SPEAKER_13]: Well, look what happened to Braggman afterwards.
- 42:46[SPEAKER_13]: Yeah.
- 42:47[SPEAKER_13]: So I don't know what her fate is in the bureaucracy, but she ran.

- 46:44[SPEAKER_13]: And the brand now, we've got a text message here.
- 46:47[SPEAKER_13]: New technology, but results are tabulated slower than ever.
- 46:51[SPEAKER_13]: Why?
- 46:51[SPEAKER_13]: Bring back days when cops drove the results into the B-O-E. 15 years ago, results were online by 9.30, now we have to wait till 11.
- 47:00[SPEAKER_13]: Well, there are some things that are a lot better.
- 47:02[SPEAKER_13]: First of all,
- 47:04[SPEAKER_13]: It used to be with absentees, they sat in the box, and were counted a week later.
- 47:10[SPEAKER_13]: So in close races, you did have to wonder.
- 47:12[SPEAKER_13]: Now, those things, when they arrive back at the DOE, before the election day, they're fed into the machine.
- 47:18[SPEAKER_13]: So at 9 o'clock, they're 905, they operate out.
- 47:22[SPEAKER_13]: Now, I don't know how important your life time is.
- 47:27[SPEAKER_13]: I guess some people need instant gratification.
- 47:30[SPEAKER_13]: But last night, it seems like Channel 7 had those city results up pretty quick.
- 47:34[SPEAKER_13]: They probably had somebody at each of the six voting centers.
- 47:38[SPEAKER_13]: You know, I can remember, I love it as do a little bit of a member in here.
- 47:41[SPEAKER_13]: Back when I, the first election I was involved in organizing coverage of was 1980.
- 47:47[SPEAKER_06]: Mm-hmm.
- 47:48[SPEAKER_13]: I think that was the first year of Dave Martin, you know, because I had the Zagami primary that year.
- 47:59[SPEAKER_13]: Um, so anyway, what we had to do in the fall, I think Glenn Hall wanted us to do it.
- 48:05[SPEAKER_13]: We would send, remember the North Country District was on 10 counties or whatever, we sent a staffer to each county.
- 48:14[SPEAKER_13]: So they could get the results there and then call them in so we could get them out in fairly quickly.
- 48:20[SPEAKER_13]: I remember we had to send Mel Bustler over to speculator in Hamilton County.
- 48:30[SPEAKER_13]: but other people went over some of the sales people and all that you don't do that anymore everything's changed but i think that listen i watch last night i mean i don't want to resolve to just snap in front of me i'd like to see a something building a little you know there's results in virginia came in quickly the new jersey once came in quickly that i certainly the new york city once did and we had you know an idea who won pretty quickly
- 49:01[SPEAKER_13]: I think, I don't know, I think it works out pretty well.
- 49:05[SPEAKER_13]: And the fact that we don't have to wait a week for absentees, now you do have, you could have absentees that were mailed say Monday or Tuesday of this week, and they might not get there in a Thursday or Friday.
- 49:17[SPEAKER_13]: So, you know, you could have a few straggler votes out there, but not enough to make a difference.
- 49:25[SPEAKER_13]: So, when somebody says this race for council's too close to call, that's not really true.
- 49:31[SPEAKER_13]: you have two apparent winners pending certification of uh... on a facial numbers um... where will uh... stuff a call or text and where will staphonic announce a group of tutorial bid well i don't know will be an albany new york city on fox news in limerick it could be any place i think she should do it here this is where her career really began
- 50:00[SPEAKER_13]: was being on the hotline.
- 50:02[SPEAKER_13]: So I think she should announce her group of the choreo candidacy right on these airwaves.
- 50:07[SPEAKER_13]: Okay.
- 50:09[SPEAKER_13]: And then go from there.
- 50:11[SPEAKER_13]: Now, I think that's reasonable.
- 50:16[SPEAKER_13]: How many total city voters?
- 50:18[SPEAKER_13]: I would say around 27 or 800, but somebody texting, do you think only will ever be elected again?
- 50:26[SPEAKER_13]: Well, I don't know.
- 50:31[SPEAKER_13]: I mean, he may run against Mr. Kimball for Dr. Kimball for mayor.
- 50:38[SPEAKER_13]: I doubt he'd beat him.
- 50:42[SPEAKER_13]: Um, I don't know who would, you know, whatever an election ends people always begin looking forward.
- 50:49[SPEAKER_13]: Even last night, obviously someone like Mr. Velazquez.
- 50:53[SPEAKER_13]: You know, he did pretty well.
- 50:54[SPEAKER_13]: Got through the primary.
- 50:55[SPEAKER_13]: Got almost nine hundred votes.
- 50:58[SPEAKER_13]: got a lot of experience and you know maybe i think he's interested in running again and we're too open seats in two years he probably will and the marries race in two years i just don't know i can't think of anybody else who would run good afternoon you're on the air hey yeah you're doing the day job i just wanted to write you a little bit on the canvas or one's be a
- 51:24[SPEAKER_07]: she was going to run on the Republican but she got pushed out by a bunch of the leaders in the Republican party, but she is pretty Republicans that don't let anybody shoot for you any different.
- 51:35[SPEAKER_13]: She was on the show here, yeah, we took the, what do they call it?
- 51:40[SPEAKER_13]: The measure of her gibb or is that the expression?
- 51:42[SPEAKER_13]: No, the cut of the gibb, yeah, that's an old salient expression.
- 51:46[SPEAKER_13]: And yeah, we liked her.
- 51:49[SPEAKER_07]: There was a bunch of his leaders, I'm not going to mention names in each
- 51:53[SPEAKER_13]: Louis Connery public and end of it that push your out of the republicans fight and that's why she runs on the ground well she's only thirty eight so she's got a long career as a in a robe now uh... but yeah that was my key on that was obviously Lydia Young's father-in-law who is the loose county republican chair and uh... he was upset because uh... Lydia Young was denied the Jefferson County family court nomination the year before
- 52:20[SPEAKER_13]: and the reason is they wanted to let netter run for that open seat that new seat created so they could have the mayor appoint uh... misses do he need a city judge and now she's been elected to a ten year term so and they may be a lead us but it worked there the plan worked very well except Lydia young didn't make it that's what i wanted to say that tell all your listeners that you know
- 52:50[SPEAKER_07]: her feet on the ground as she goes very good in that position as far as most of us our feet on the ground every day but I would say that yeah but she did take pose for a picture with Tiss James when you get into the warrior end of it this you know you're hot now.
- 53:06[SPEAKER_13]: Unless it don't get me wrong if Tiss James walked in the studio right now I'd pose for a picture with her but I was worried that was going to hurt her if the Republicans you know circulated that photo
- 53:16[SPEAKER_13]: But maybe it didn't.
- 53:17[SPEAKER_07]: But maybe it didn't.
- 53:18[SPEAKER_07]: But maybe it didn't.
- 53:19[SPEAKER_07]: Maybe it didn't.
- 53:20[SPEAKER_07]: Maybe it didn't.
- 53:21[SPEAKER_07]: Maybe it didn't.
- 53:22[SPEAKER_07]: Maybe it didn't.
- 53:23[SPEAKER_13]: Maybe it didn't.
- 53:25[SPEAKER_13]: Maybe it didn't.
- 53:27[SPEAKER_07]: Maybe it didn't.
- 53:28[SPEAKER_07]: Maybe it didn't.
- 53:30[SPEAKER_13]: Maybe it didn't.
- 53:31[SPEAKER_07]: Maybe it didn't.
- 53:32[SPEAKER_07]: Maybe it didn't.
- 53:32[SPEAKER_07]: Maybe it didn't.
- 53:33[SPEAKER_07]: Maybe it didn't.
- 53:33[SPEAKER_13]: Maybe it didn't.
- 53:34[SPEAKER_13]: Maybe it didn't.
- 53:34[SPEAKER_13]: Maybe it didn't.
- 53:35[SPEAKER_13]: Maybe it didn't.
- 53:36[SPEAKER_07]: Maybe it didn't.
- 53:37[SPEAKER_13]: Maybe it didn't.
- 53:38[SPEAKER_13]: Maybe it didn't.
- 53:38[SPEAKER_13]: Maybe it didn't.
- 53:40[SPEAKER_13]: Maybe it didn't.
- 53:41[SPEAKER_13]: Maybe it didn't.
- 53:43[SPEAKER_13]: Maybe it didn't.
- 53:43[SPEAKER_13]: Maybe it didn't.
- 53:43[SPEAKER_13]: Maybe it didn't.
- 53:45[SPEAKER_13]: We get a local person to sit on the bench in Louis County and, you know, Louis County only has 27,000 people, so it's not like it.
- 53:53[SPEAKER_13]: They really deserve their own Supreme Court justice, but they're going to get one.
- 53:57[SPEAKER_13]: And that's great.
- 53:59[SPEAKER_13]: You know, I've never been in state Supreme Court for anything.
- 54:03[SPEAKER_13]: I've been in the courtroom to watch other proceedings, but I've never been
- 54:09[SPEAKER_13]: Well, I'm going to find out what is I to go on trial soon, but I have not ever been in a judge of McCluskey's court room.
- 54:16[SPEAKER_13]: So, we're, I'm sure to go very well for the new justice.
- 54:22[SPEAKER_13]: Okay.
- 54:24[SPEAKER_13]: Wouldn't it be a big swearing in, sworey down it?
- 54:28[SPEAKER_13]: Where do you go and Copenhagen for a sworey?
- 54:31[SPEAKER_13]: The cottage in?
- 54:32[SPEAKER_13]: There's another place down there, something else in.
- 54:35[SPEAKER_13]: I just saw an ad on TV for it.
- 54:38[SPEAKER_13]: Look very nice.
- 54:40[SPEAKER_13]: Yeah, the Davenport, that's gone.
- 54:43[SPEAKER_13]: I believe.
- 54:45[SPEAKER_13]: So if you want to have a swearing in, sworey, nobody just wrote something bad about tish.
- 54:55[SPEAKER_13]: Come on.
- 54:56[SPEAKER_13]: You can't say that about our tish.
- 55:02[SPEAKER_13]: I just said if she came in, I'd take a picture with it.
- 55:04[SPEAKER_13]: I'd be glad to it.
- 55:08[SPEAKER_13]: I don't know what to think about.
- 55:19[SPEAKER_13]: You know, if I was buying a house and needed help filling out the mortgage application, I might ask for some help, but other than that, I don't know.
- 55:30[SPEAKER_13]: I did get clarification from Shannon that the airport restaurant won't be opening until spring.
- 55:38[SPEAKER_13]: that the new terminal is open i i don't know i haven't heard anything so um well after we can see maybe the county will give us notifications all righty uh seven five five twelve forty is the phone number if you'd like to give us a call and we got about five minutes left so we got plenty of time to talk about things um...
- 56:06[SPEAKER_13]: Well, let's see.
- 56:07[SPEAKER_13]: We've talked about them on Dami Race.
- 56:10[SPEAKER_13]: I didn't get much play up here.
- 56:11[SPEAKER_13]: I thought.
- 56:13[SPEAKER_13]: I don't even think it got mentioned on Channel 7 years.
- 56:20[SPEAKER_13]: And they probably would light, you know.
- 56:22[SPEAKER_13]: Well, let's see.
- 56:25[SPEAKER_13]: Here's a statement by Lisa Fonic.
- 56:26[SPEAKER_13]: Governor Hokel is owned lock stock in barrel by the radical far left socialist takeover.
- 56:32[SPEAKER_13]: Well, she is.
- 56:34[SPEAKER_13]: Yeah.
- 56:36[SPEAKER_13]: she is.
- 56:39[SPEAKER_13]: I just don't Congresswoman, you got to get it in the race.
- 56:43[SPEAKER_13]: You've got to what you do is you're called seven five three one five seven five five twelve forty and just say, Mayor, I wanted to make sure you were the first to know this.
- 56:54[SPEAKER_13]: I'm running for governor.
- 56:55[SPEAKER_13]: That's all you got to say, I'm nothing complicated.
- 56:59[SPEAKER_13]: I'm not looking to complicate things.
- 57:02[SPEAKER_13]: I'm ready.
- 57:04[SPEAKER_13]: Oh, anyway, what do we got to call here?
- 57:06[SPEAKER_13]: Could I have to do it on the air?
- 57:11[SPEAKER_11]: Yeah, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh uh, uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh
- 57:32[SPEAKER_11]: get out, I think she'd be way through the time.
- 57:36[SPEAKER_13]: Well, you know, they, they, they played this shutdown thing.
- 57:39[SPEAKER_13]: Wow, it's right to help their candidates.
- 57:41[SPEAKER_13]: But I don't, I think when the, when the country's in trouble, you need people like, uh, Stefana could stand up.
- 57:47[SPEAKER_13]: That's not the time to be sitting down.
- 57:50[SPEAKER_11]: Well, why give up to see when you know, but doesn't look good, I, I guess, am I?
- 57:56[SPEAKER_13]: I don't think she wants to be in Congress anymore.
- 57:58[SPEAKER_13]: I, I just think that's, uh,
- 58:01[SPEAKER_13]: you know she said five terms she's intersects i don't think she wanted to do it anymore and uh... that's why she wanted that you and job very bad that badly and uh... you know that didn't pan out for a variety of reasons and uh... stand out i mean what's the purpose of not getting her in the u.n
- 58:23[SPEAKER_13]: Because they were, they were, no, no, no.
- 58:27[SPEAKER_13]: If she went to the U.N. last winter as planned, the seat would have been vacant.
- 58:32[SPEAKER_13]: The governor would have called a special election probably for a round, early July, and the Republicans were worried they couldn't win that election.
- 58:40[SPEAKER_13]: Because they had no candidate.
- 58:41[SPEAKER_13]: They couldn't agree on a consensus candidate and the Democrats were already locked and loaded with Blake Jen to be.
- 58:48[SPEAKER_11]: So, my question is, is it so?
- 58:51[SPEAKER_13]: when she is on this to run for governor let's go to open up to see it again so who who who who is a have paid this is going to run well wait a minute it opens up the seat again but on a normal cycle because she would still be Congresswoman through next year and that way there could be a primary or whatever and it wouldn't be a special election that they might be able to win a normal election cycle I don't know and that's where Scott Gray gets in I think Scott Gray will run for that
- 59:22[SPEAKER_11]: did all this because of special election scenario.
- 59:26[SPEAKER_13]: I think that was the reason she had to be pulled from the UN thing because they felt they couldn't win that election.
- 59:31[SPEAKER_13]: And you know what?
- 59:32[SPEAKER_13]: I don't think they would have.
- 59:34[SPEAKER_13]: So that's that.
- 59:35[SPEAKER_13]: Okay.
- 59:39[SPEAKER_13]: I don't think they would have retained the seat last in a special election.
- 59:42[SPEAKER_13]: No, I don't.
- 59:44[SPEAKER_13]: Okay, thank you.
- 59:46[SPEAKER_13]: Alrighty, that's just my opinion.
- 59:47[SPEAKER_13]: I'm going to let me know where I'm going to be wrong.
- 59:50[SPEAKER_13]: Anyway, this is I've spent the hotline had a great time today.
- 59:53[SPEAKER_13]: You're listening to it on the community broadcast station.
- 59:56[SPEAKER_13]: A. I'm 1240 WAT and water town New York the time on a clock.
- 1:00:00[SPEAKER_13]: CBS News is next.
- 1:00:01[SPEAKER_13]: Have a great day.
