• 0:01
[upbeat music] Welcome everybody to the radio program.
• 0:20
This is Full Spectrum Cycling, show number 240. 2-4. Right? Oh. We just did the two four- 2-4... thing. Oh. Version 0.0, 0.1. I was kinda thinking sub 24 overnight as well as 240.
• 0:37
There's a lot of, there's a lot of 240 things going on. Can you at least- All right, I'm moving this... give me a week to be past this? Nope. Nope, nope, nope. Nope. You got a report from the wash.
• 0:49
Yeah, this, uh, last weekend there on the... well, kinda Saturday and Sunday sort of. Saturday being a practice lap and Sunday being the event of, well, at least last weekend for sure. Right. Right.
• 1:01
Uh, was our own Shiver West 24. Tony got a lot of kudos for leading the ride. Internet was like, "Dang, boy. You all right, man." Yeah, that was pretty, pretty weird.
• 1:13
Which was good, because I didn't sleep Saturday I was so freaked out. [laughs] Which did not help getting up Sunday, refreshing the stupid page, and seeing 97 going and 300 interested. I'm like- Right, right... oh, fuck.
• 1:24
Uh. [laughs] Oh, fuck. Yeah, and how many people actually showed up? You counted 186? I was guessing. Yeah. But I would like to... I was like, 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35. I was in the 1- We got 50 over here... 150 line.
• 1:34
I, I'm thinking, oh, it was way over 1. It was way over 150 at one time. And I think it was after we got to Matt's house to do the spray painting and people caught up, I think it hi- it hit 200.
• 1:44
Yeah, and I was thinking that there was definitely people that popped in and out during the day. Mm-hmm. Yep. Including Michael. A couple of guys just told me they were- Yeah, you don't own me.
• 1:52
[laughs] A, a couple of guys were at, uh, a couple of guys were at Uptowner and said, "Hey, we're gonna go hit a couple of laps of the, the route. We're just gonna do a few laps." Yeah. I'm like, "You be you, man.
• 2:02
You go have fun." Yeah. That's what I was waiting for. It's a good thing. I was like, yes, it's like you can take this.
• 2:06
Oh, uh, uh, somebody came quite underdressed and was like, "Well, I thought there'd be a lot more riding." I'm like, "Well, you..." You didn't pay attention.
• 2:15
There was a lot of information about [laughs] what it was gonna be like. And, and you could also ride. Yeah. Nobody says you can't. Right. Exactly. It's the public streets. I mean, there is- It's the city of Milwaukee.
• 2:24
But- I know. It wa- It all came together... it was compressed, like a compressed learning curve quick. Yeah. You know, it- Like... it came together really well.
• 2:29
The weather was really cooperative, although we did have ice things planned that obviously we couldn't do, 'cause there was no snow. 'Cause it was 40 degrees that time.
• 2:35
It was 40 degrees and it was, I mean, we had a lot of fun. Point in- The sun peeked out and created- Point in sun, yep. And, you know, the stops were a good time. I, the derby was a good call, thank you.
• 2:46
Uh, it was pretty funny. Yeah. [laughs] Especially the guy that- [laughs] Pretty funny... so the guy that, uh, got against me, and I got away from him a couple of times, and then I was out, and then he got next to Sam.
• 2:56
And I just looked at the guy- Oh, is he the fixie guy? Yeah. 'Cause he- Oh, I saw. I was like- I was like, oh, dude... oh, dude. There's gonna be a wheelie kid in there, man. Oh, yeah.
• 3:02
I know I'm gonna lose, but- This guy's on a fixie, and he can wheelie with no hands on the handlebars and all that. He's one of these guys that's a very good bike control.
• 3:08
And we're all roundy-rounding, zippity-zippity, getting ready to do the derby thing, and he goes, "I'm gonna win this easy." [laughs] And he's never come up against Sam.
• 3:19
[laughs] So Sam does have some, you know, he had- He was, like, running into Sam, and Sam's just [laughs] standing there like... Yeah. It was classic. It was very classic.
• 3:30
That would, that would've been a good thing to have on video. Yeah, that was- I'm not sure if Steven caught that or not, 'cause he was taking a lot of- He was taking a lot of video and a lot of photos.
• 3:37
A lot of videos and photos. Yes, I was heckled into becoming part of the derby, and it- Yeah... it worked out perfectly, because I didn't even have to start.
• 3:45
I- I could just put my foot down already, and I'd be like, "Okay, make the circle. Yes." [laughs] I, I borrowed Kenny's bike. Yeah. [laughs] I saw. Kenny, I need your bike. Yeah. I gotta do derby.
• 3:53
Yeah, and then he, yeah. And I just grabbed it and walked over to- Yeah, and then he took Brenda's. Yeah. [laughs] Yeah. And then- Yeah, it was a, it was a good thing... that was, that worked out nicely.
• 3:59
And then he took my cargo bike for a spirited f- power assist five ride. Nice. And he said, "Yes, this is a very fast bike." Yeah. And from where he lives to come down to where he works- Perfect...
• 4:11
seven miles or something. Yeah. That's a good, that's a good cut 30% off the amount of time that you actually need to do it. Well, yeah. If you have to, like, run the North Avenue, Center Street gauntlet, [laughs] blah.
• 4:22
Hey, speaking of, uh, the North Avenue, Center Street gauntlet. Segway. There are 45 more traffic calming measures coming in 2024 in our- Yep... fine city of Milwaukee. Yep. Oh. I read that too.
• 4:34
I hope some of them- But-... are planters, 'cause those things are awesome. [laughs] I re-listened to, I, I listened to the podcast- Yeah, they're, it's like-... this morning- It's like shuffleboard...
• 4:41
because it's Tuesday-... shuffle puck... and I don't wanna listen to Dr. Sushian. I didn't see the picture of the completely destroyed planter that you posted [laughs] and I was just- Yeah...
• 4:49
like scrolling through them like, "Oh, shit." That, that didn't leave a mark. To be fair- To be fair... I don't know that that was my photo. That may have been somebody else's.
• 4:57
'Cause I think mine was actually going, going west, and that was coming east, but it was pretty much the same thing. Yeah, but it's- It's all in, like basically in the same area... that thing was gone.
• 5:06
In front of the Dirty Runs, that's like the gauntlet. Yeah. Like everything going east- Someone had to be going-... ding, ding, ding, ding, ding...
• 5:10
very fast to do that That's 'cause every idiot in the world stops in the, you know, middle of the road. They'll go out into the road to be in line to go into McDonald's right there.
• 5:18
That's- It's almost as bad as Chick-fil-A. I do not miss living in Green Bay. I, I don't go to either one of those, so.
• 5:23
Well, a Chick-fil-A is right at the end of Henry Clay, where I come out of my block, and it's always a bunch of idiots parked in the middle of the street trying to- Oh... you know, it's- It is.
• 5:30
You do live right by that one. There is, yeah. I don't know about that relationship. No, it's nice on Sundays though. I was gonna say, at least it's okay on Sundays. On the Lord's day, it's fine. I, it's amazing though.
• 5:39
There's always a guy working on everything there on Sundays though. Like, he's ch- like, I, every time I ride by, there's a truck there, and he's doing something. I'm like, "He's obviously Jewish."
• 5:48
Okay, give, give me this. [laughs] Totally joking. So you sit in the drive-through line, and there are actually human beings- Taking your order. Yeah. Yeah. What's... Really? Yeah
• 6:01
And no, I can't subject myself to that... my, my coworkers go there all the fucking time Mm-mm. You know? No, hey- But they order ahead... whenever Southridge Mall, that was fine. When was that, Southridge?
• 6:11
I've had Chick-fil-A- That's fine... once in my life, and it was so greasy it was disgusting. Yeah. And I'm like, "I don't need to have this again." It was, it was chicken in a mall. I'll take Popeye. Chicken in a mall.
• 6:18
I'll take Popeye's so that I get some beans and rice. But it wasn't in a mall at the time. So, uh, you know, naturally when I don't have my new fucking- Fancy phone... shmiggity smack for the phone, 'cause it's...
• 6:28
The new phone has a USB-C like every other phone in the world now. Ah, yes. But I don't have a USB-C to, uh- The road doesn't have USB-C? No, it has a, it has just a headphone jack. Mm.
• 6:39
So you need the headphone jack adapter. I think the new version two does have a second, 'cause y- you use the, the one USB that it has to record into the backup generator- Mm... slash Adobe.
• 6:53
Um, so Mark said you wanna surprise call in for the show today. Hey, I know you can't hear me, but call, [laughs] call in and leave a message. Do you need ES, USB- Wait, can't he hear you? We're not broadcasting-...
• 7:05
two USB-Cs? No, not today. Oh. Er. I mean, we'll broad- w- we'll, you know, we'll put it up when it's up. But, uh, it's not on, it's not on the call in studio web interfa- Oh.
• 7:16
You didn't hear him talk or anything, did you? Oh, sorry, dude. Yeah. So, um, boy, something is messed up with Adobe Audition. You can just go fuck yourself. I like those shiny buttons on your shirt. Shit, they're snaps.
• 7:28
Ryan's don't co- Or snaps, yes, they definitely look snaps. It is a Dixon. Dixon makes some nice stuff. And because I think they're kind of motorcycle-y, they've got really long sleeves so you don't get that s- sleep...
• 7:43
And they also have, check this out, they have snaps on the collar so that thing doesn't whip you in the face. 'Cause that hurts. Yeah, it does. Dixon flannel rules the wasteland. What are you doing over there, tech guy?
• 7:55
Get up. Well- Oh, man... doing a couple different things here. Um, so speaking of tech guy, this is the first time we're doing a video of the, of the cast. That's why I'm doing this. I know, look at these guys. Yeah.
• 8:07
There's two of them. Hey. How. God damn. They have lights too. Yeah. You can do the old floodlight. This is like, this is, like, the absolute least expensive way you could possibly try to do this. This is what you know.
• 8:16
So- It works... and what I'm thinking is not everybody's got 15 grand to buy a couple of three Sony cameras and a bunch of lights and all that crap. I know I don't. This is 100 bucks worth of, uh, Wise technology.
• 8:28
On sale. And you know Tony Berger is a Wise. Hey, speaking of- Yeah... Tony Berger, he's right there. I am. Right here. What's JK doing? JK's going through some stuff. He's looking for adapters. Yeah.
• 8:37
Do you need this to this? No, no, no, I need- No... I need USB-C- To audio. Yeah, just audio... to an audio, an audio, uh, headphone jack. Nope. Okay. Yep. Yeah. No, but thank you for checking.
• 8:50
It has to plug in like your old school, you know- I gotcha... wired headphones. I've actually never seen that. Yeah. 'Cause this was, this one was a, uh, lightning to such. Yeah. Oh, yep.
• 8:59
So anyway, next week we'll have it all figured out. Oh, ah. Damn it, I was gonna, I was gonna- He was yapping a bunch... zip-tie him right there. Get in his mouth...
• 9:08
Tony, Tony, I was gonna zip-tie him right to that light. He's gonna be... That's where he was gonna live. Nope, nope, nope. Facing the camera so we c- everybody- Please... can get a taste of him. Please, everybody enjoy.
• 9:16
That's Matt Gaetz- That's Matt Gaetz... ladies and gentlemen. Who's being checked out again for having sex with minors. Oh, good Lord. Of course. 'Cause he's Matt Gaetz. Hallelujah. Uh- Florida boy...
• 9:28
speaking of also TV- Florida... here, here's a, here's a weird deal. Uh, both our buddies, Lloyd Seawright- Lloyd... and Dave were both on the news in separate things this week. I saw Dave. What was Lloyd on for?
• 9:42
For the Beach Ambassador program down at Bradford, and, and, and recruiting lifeguards and whatnot, but he was the- Sorry, but it's way cooler that Dave's into Legos... he was the on-air talent for that.
• 9:53
Dave is into Legos. He was rooting through a bin with the clackity-clack- [laughs]... and that noise that only Legos can make. Oh, yeah. Oh my God.
• 10:02
And he's like, "I've got a couple, three ideas in my head, and I just go through here and try and blah, blah, blah, blah, blah." Oh, I gotta watch. [laughs] Yeah, you do. It's up there. Both of them were on TMJ4.
• 10:12
I'll find- I need props, man... I'll actually find links and put those in the show notes- Hey, and speaking of-... because they're kinda worth watching...
• 10:16
speaking of that, you know what I was really excited about on Sunday? I do not. No media. I was hoping there would be media. I did not wanna have to be- I would've been your media shill...
• 10:24
I did not wanna have to deal with any media, and I'm glad that- [laughs]... they left notes everywhere. They left notes at the co-op. They called, uh, Julie and said, "Hey, we really are trying to reach someone.
• 10:36
Can we interview someone?" I'll be the, I'll be the sh- My response was, "No." I'll be the schmuck. [laughs] It was just like, "I'm not gonna talk to media." I can explain it. Especially Fox. No, fuck Fox. No, not Fox.
• 10:46
I'm not gonna talk to you. Um, all right, so- No, CBS 58. It's over by, uh, Gus's- All right... cantina. So I'm, I'm, uh- [laughs]... I'm changing the date we post the show to Tues- or to Thursdays now. Okay.
• 10:58
Just so you got that extra day in case you're, got Dr. Sushi Two on Friday or whatever, but- [laughs] Guess I'll have to- So we got, we got Lloyd. We got Dave. They're on Channel 4. Guess what I'm doing Thursday?
• 11:11
Dun, dun. I'm gonna be in an- Law and Order... advertisement for, uh, Murphy and Proctorhauser Law Firm. [laughs] Really? Yeah. You know what the best thing is? Throw, thrown through the pokey? I get paid for it.
• 11:22
I don't just have to be on TV like a schmuck. I get sh- What? I actually get paid. What, what are you doing? Have you worked, they've worked for you?
• 11:28
I am going to be a, I'm going to be a client, and I'm going to be a spectator in the audience for a trial. Yeah, I know. And, oh, I knew the justice system was rigged, man.
• 11:39
[laughs] You can see it right there in that commercial, man. That's it. I'm gonna send this over to Q. I think this is the- He'll know what to say... whatever.
• 11:46
This is the third year they've done this, and some friends- [laughs]... have been in it. And I've s- I saw my buddy Frank in one. I don't know how often they run these ads or when they run 'em. All right.
• 11:55
Maybe during Brewers games or something, I'm not sure. But anyway, I think that's just weird that we're, we're all getting our 15 minutes in one week. Oh, and you- And-...
• 12:02
were gonna say something like, "I made more than one call." I don't think I have to say- Yeah, I know. I know what he's saying. I don't think I have to say anything. Okay. I don't think I...
• 12:09
There's a, this, it's just a visual. Uh- With some l-... voiceover, lip-sync-y guy, whatever they do Chris, Chris Allen, basketball shorts. Chris Allen from the Dukes, scooters, Rascals Like, the biggest shill for- No...
• 12:24
we'll call That's All ever, 'cause all he ever wears is- You... his, he, his, uh- You, Pete What's his stage name? No, he's been doing, he's been do- he's been posting on, uh, Milwaukee Foodie's, uh, Facebook- Ando's...
• 12:35
page for a while. He just, he's, every week he goes out to eat with his mom, and he takes a picture and, like- [laughs]... reports in and whatever. And- He's probably making money on it... God damn it. What?
• 12:47
Thanks for the message, Big Sexy. He's trying to call in. He said, "No show tonight?"
• 12:51
And I'm like, um- We're having audio dif- difficulties [laughs] Just, uh, yeah, it's the- I was looking for cords, and I thought I had the right cord...
• 12:59
so I'm, I'm glad that he, that suddenly left a message, because we do need to catch up with Big Sexy. Yeah. He's back, he's back down in New Orleans. No. Next, next week, sexy big guy.
• 13:08
Yeah, it's, we're coming up on Fat Tuesday, aren't we? [laughs] Dude. See? Okay, sexy big guy. Yeah, so when he opened his beer it went all over the place. When I opened my beer, it kind of went all... Now that...
• 13:21
I got you. [laughs] Finally, yeah, on the last snort of it, Jesus. [laughs] Oh, boy. [bell ringing] Yeah, let's do that. Uh, where's that, where's the next batch? And hopefully- Oh. Eh. Oh, no. Eh. I don't know.
• 13:36
JK can't reach it. I hope it doesn't go all over- Thank you... the computer or anything. That's funny. Computator. Don't aim. So today we have, uh, that's the, uh, top of the- This is the top...
• 13:44
that's the top of the hill, folks. We made it. We've got Surly today. Um, I don't know, let's see here. Ooh. That Best, oh, best by 10/20/23 on this one,
• 13:55
on the Logic Bomb, so that might be why it kind of spit all over Tony. [laughs] Uh, seems JK got the, uh, the, the next one is the, uh, the One Man Mosh Pit, which is the one I was waiting for.
• 14:06
[laughs] This, this is- Oh, this one's 9/30/23. Yeah, this definitely has an- Aged... older taste to it Vintage. Yeah- [laughs]...
• 14:14
'cause I would, well, I would think six months is kind of your outside on a properly stored, in-can beer. Like, there's no UV hitting it. Mm. It's, if it's properly kept, you know, somewhere where it's not 9,000 degrees.
• 14:28
But, um- UV shouldn't really affect a can, but you're right. It's the temperature. No, that's what I'm saying. It's in a can. It's the temperature. So UV will affect bottles, though.
• 14:33
That can- You're just opening that without even worrying about it? That can r- I'm pushing on it. See me pushing on it like that? Yeah. See the- Push it too.
• 14:39
Now that we have video, people can see us pushing on it like that. Plus when it geysers to the ceiling. Oh. Uh, I will do the- Okay, I think I'm okay. Wait, wait. [can opening] Oh, look at that, it didn't overflow.
• 14:54
First time in weeks. All right, so- No. So- I opened it earlier and it's absolutely flat. [can opening] Oh. [laughs] Oh, is it? It was flat. So, so these came from Discount Liquor, though.
• 15:05
I thought they turned over a lot of brewhaha over to the... I was a wor- a little worried about the Distil last week, too. Um- Oh...
• 15:13
maybe, maybe Otto's turns over more 'cause it's a lot smaller and they have to keep the small cooler- Yeah. Well-... rotated quickly. Mm-hmm. But, uh, anyway, yeah, so- Nothing surprises me about this. Uh.
• 15:23
[laughs] This is definitely, this is definitely tastier. I wonder if, uh- Tastier and, yeah... I hate to go to Total Wine and Liquor and Booze and Beer and, uh- I, big Otto's is my go-to... Kombucha, kombucha and more.
• 15:34
Right. But they probably rotate through pretty well too. I, I will admit, their selection of whiskey is impressive. Yeah. Oh. It's like- Which doesn't go bad sitting on the shelf for- Right...
• 15:41
a couple of weeks or a month or a year... in fact, it's only better Yes. You ha- you have the people that that's their job. Whoa, whoa, you know, rotate the stock, or, you know, you know, do- My daughter worked there.
• 15:51
Yeah. Mm-hmm. I remember that. I think she got 17 bucks an hour there. Teacher. Which as a, you know, young lady just between jobs wasn't terrible at all. That's not bad at all. No. Yeah.
• 15:59
I did learn a very- I think I might go get a job there. I don't even make that much- Yeah...
• 16:02
running a stupid bike shop, which- I just think I would, like, learn more about beer and-or wine, because I, I was like, "Okay, what's the difference here?" And it was the Beaujolais.
• 16:13
There was Beaujolais, Beaujolais Nouveau, which you always find. Hey, look at that. You're, you're okay there. Now we can check that on the video. Yeah, I fucked up. [laughs] Ouch, that hurt. And mark. See?
• 16:25
Didn't miss a beat. And- Six 19... one was $1 more than the other. I'm like, "What the hell's wrong, you know, what's the difference?"
• 16:34
But the one that was $1 less was the wine served to the peasants, but the peasants knew that it was good stuff, and they tricked the higher class- Interesting... with the other one. But by the same vineyard.
• 16:48
And I'm like, damn it, that's cool. Even if it's bullshit, that's cool. I'm like, yeah, I can live in the environment completely. This One Man Mosh Pit's good, though. It's way better- Yes... than the Logic Bomb.
• 16:59
It doesn't taste- And I normally like Logic Bomb a lot, so. Yeah. I think, I think we got duped by those fucks over there It was overly fizzy, and this was- Is flat, man... flat.
• 17:08
Mine's, mine's got some- Got little, little-... some level of-... little bit... stuff. I'm gonna go enjoy a beer next door. I know it's flat 'cause it didn't explode in your damn face.
• 17:15
[laughs] I, I'm gonna enjoy a beer next door. It went pff. At the very least to thank Ron for setting up such a great situation. That was a good time. Sunday. That was fun. Hey, last week we had a poll. Remember that?
• 17:26
Underpants. Underpants poll. Guess what- Underpants poll... guess how many people, lack of Slacker listeners, made any effort to- Four? None. None. Fucking losers. God damn you listeners. Let's go. Come on, listeners.
• 17:40
God damn it. Maybe Big, well- We're not calling you losers. We're calling you not calling in losers... [laughs] maybe Big Sexy and, uh, maybe Mark Peterson. I was gonna call four times.
• 17:47
[laughs] I'm, I'm gonna fully admit I was gonna call today, but I had a room full of people. I'm like, "This would be really embarrassing." [laughs] So I, I have another one for next week. We can try this again.
• 17:56
All right. Come on, you leakers Uh, 26-inch or 27 and a half-inch fat bike wheels/tires. 26. Yeah, but you have, have you ridden 27 and a half? No, I don't care. See? I don't want to. See? See? See?
• 18:07
If you haven't ridden both, how can you comment? I don't need to add another tire rim size to my fold. Oh, don't go there because I c- I'm gonna blow up- I know...
• 18:14
on something real soon Because I have, I have the plusbikes.com domain com- Right... pletely in my pocket right now. [laughs] I used to have it. I gave it up because- I, oh, I was gonna say.
• 18:23
[laughs] No, it was, actually it went pretty well for a while, for the three weeks that that- The baby fat?... freaking thing lasted. Yeah. Well- Uh, so I-...
• 18:30
see, that's what I thought, I thought, uh, my low side was gonna be until I got it Your, your low side's badass. Yeah, but it, I thought it was gonna be 27.5 and be all special and all weird.
• 18:39
But now you can get 26 by three tires all over the place. It is awesome. So here's another- Perfect... dumb bike industry thing. We've got these AR 45 frames, which are awesome, made by Zen, Portland, Oregon.
• 18:51
Yeah, they didn't last, but it's a great frame. True Temper, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. Handmade. Handmade. Been trying to get rid of them because, uh, you know, they're still worth something.
• 18:58
Guess what you can't find for it right this second? But I'm gonna find it. Tires. No, a fucking through axle to put your rear wheel on. How are you supposed to ride a bike with no rear wheel? Unicycle, man.
• 19:06
In the 12 millimeter metric category, there are 1.0, 1.25, 1.5 M, 1.75 thread pitches all on the same freaking- Come on... diameter, 12 millimeter. They happen to use the 1.25, which is
• 19:22
1.0 all over the place, 1.5 all over the place. Nothing wants you to- 1.75 maybe for forks, but, like, you gotta be kidding me. So I am reduced to, A, having somebody make one.
• 19:32
Hopefully, uh, Robert Axle Project will be able to help us out because they're pretty good at doing sort of short run stuff. But if they can't, I gotta go to AliExpress and order this crap direct from China.
• 19:44
It just pisses me off that you got four to pick from. Yeah. E-bikes have settled on 1.5. Yeah. True. I, you know, just it's, it, it's irritating. Anyway, that's the bike industry for you, folks.
• 19:59
Well, ir- They can go fuck themselves. Irritatements. [laughs] I got more. I got a lot more. Oh, I got a lot more venom in this quiver, I tell you. I, I don't, I don't have it today, but I have it in general, so.
• 20:11
Yeah, just wait for the right trigger word and all of a sudden- Yeah... brap. Thank you. [laughs] Oh, here it is. Oh, there it goes.
• 20:18
[laughs] I thought I covered up that part of the No, this isn't so much a personal, uh, vendetta, but it's somebody else's personal vendetta. [laughs] It's just somebody else's grudge, not mine. It...
• 20:28
Okay, it's, "Are electronics sucking the soul from mountain biking?" Not electrics, which we already know- Electronics... right, we already know electrics suck the soul out of everything, right, Tony? Yeah. Exactly.
• 20:39
Love them. Yeah, look at him. Uh. He's just staring at his porn down there. Yeah, he's got his electric bike porn- Yeah, we can actually, we, we can actually see what you're looking at... right on his lap. Yeah.
• 20:47
[laughs] Um, so the deal is that, you know, now you can have electronic shifting, you can have electronic valves on your dropper post and on your shocks. Wait, I didn't know that. Yeah.
• 20:58
Oh, yeah, you flip a button and you can change your dropper post right from the handlebars. Yeah, they, Sam's- Zippity zip, zippity zip, z- Sam's weird Bluetooth all together son of a gun. Oh, he's got the shifters.
• 21:06
But I don't know if he has a... Yeah, he's got a shifter. Sam has the shifters. That's- Yeah... SRAM, I've seen the SRAM electric shifters, but- Well, you think that's just it? Thinkin' it'll just stop?
• 21:12
[laughs] You can adjust the post and the s- suspension fork now? Uh, yeah. All digitally? That's fantastic electronics to do that. Can I ask Siri to do it for me?
• 21:22
I don't know, maybe, uh, Alexa will ride with you in the back. Right? Yeah. I, I didn't- Alexa, my butt is sore. Because I- Could you give me dampening? [laughs] I will do my best. Ah.
• 21:33
Well, I didn't get through the entire article 'cause I got to it right before the show, but I think it's worth probably reading. It's on, uh, Singletracks. Link's in the show notes if you leakers go check that out.
• 21:43
Uh, [laughs] and then you gotta be shitting me. Here's a you gotta be shitting me story. All right. Some guy's suing Trek for $2 million 'cause he crashed and his brake lever impaled his thigh.
• 21:56
Yeah, that's doing a thing now. There's been a bunch of people talking about this. I just- Like, fuck you. Yeah. You know what?
• 22:01
I remember when davelunds.com crashed on my birthday or the night before, whatever it was, and he didn't have a bar end plug on his bar and it, and it core sampled his thigh.
• 22:10
[laughs] Like, literally pulled out a, like a three-quarter inch chunk of leg inside the handlebar. Oh, and then Molly- Who's freaking fault is that?
• 22:18
For the handlebar company making a handlebar that's sharp on the end or the idiot not having the dumb plug in there? It's Dave. [laughs] Well, in this case it's Dave. No. And then Molly, Colin and Molly time- Yeah...
• 22:28
when she ate it on the bike I now own, and it like- Oh, on the Danger Zone bike... yeah, and it cracked off part of that, uh, brake lever, and you were just like, you were beside yourself going like, "Dude, you..."
• 22:43
[laughs] You really just didn't- "Just, just bring that in and we'll replace it 'cause this is driving me insane." [laughs] You're go- [laughs] Yeah. Short trip. You know what?
• 22:52
You could have been a two million heir if you would've just bided your time a little bit. [laughs] I was riding my mountain bike and I got hurt. I'm suing you. Oh.
• 23:01
Like, I can't believe how hard- No, but you have to be more theatric and boom. I, I can't- You have a story, you have to world build it and boom. I just can't, you know? I- Yeah, you can. What are we?
• 23:13
We're a li- litigious society? Litigious. [laughs] Litigious, is that what it is? That's why I'm, that's why I'm doing work for a lawyer right now, just in case I need a guy in my back pocket. Yeah.
• 23:23
Maybe I shouldn't have said anything about this. Yeah, now it's all on air. Yes. And they're seeing you actually say it. So, hey. Hey. I'm thinking Jason Momoa, baby, I'm the next one. Yeah. You know?
• 23:33
Better start working out and doing a lot of 'roids. Do you think he did 'roids? Come on. He's Samoan and Hawaiian and, and, and, and, and, and- Come on... and, and over there. They got- No...
• 23:44
they have automatic 'roids, I think. You don't get to sizes like that without roiding. Ask Sam. Well, he's pretty cool. He'll clarify. I don't know. I've, I've been watching his On the Roam thing. Okay.
• 23:53
Uh, on, I think it's on Max. He probably got a little [clicks tongue] boost along the way- Maybe, maybe... and then just been like, "Okay, I'm committed to the life of, uh, yes and this and that, whatever." I don't know.
• 24:03
I think if you stop doing it, though, you kinda shrink back down I remember, I remember a guy in my high school who was a football player, and my buddy Brian's dad is this... He's like a big appearing guy.
• 24:14
My buddy Brian's dad was 5'6", but he was a ex-Marine. He was in for 20 years. And he grabs Eric's arm and he just goes... [imitates crushing sound] And he goes, "That's what's wrong with you steroid boys." Right.
• 24:26
[laughs] I just was like, "Uh-huh. Classic." Nice. [laughs] Oh, boy. Ugh. Ugh. Did we talk about my idea that got realized finally last week? Uh, refresh me.
• 24:39
With the, uh, with, with using, um, like, off-the-shelf electric tool batteries on your e-bike. Uh, we did not talk about it here. I think we talked about it on Sunday. Oh, okay. Well, there's two now.
• 24:52
There's, there's now Brompton. There's a Brompton version now where you can use, I don't know which, uh, brand of- A UK-... off, off the cordle- uh, a cordless power pack from, like, a drill that you might have at home.
• 25:06
Same deal. They're like 8 amp power, you know? Well- You get two of them, that's 16 amp hours. That's pretty good.
• 25:10
And I do think that there's a market for aftermarket adapters that let you plug into, like, for my, for me, Ryobi. Oh, yeah. Whoa. I mean, there's a- they, they all have a- Love the hero... typical battery. Yeah.
• 25:23
Can you make a plug that plugs into them that then, you know, directly connects- Sounds like a lot of dongles, like your iPhone. It would be dongles. It would be dongles. I saw you being the hero- Yeah. He...
• 25:31
outside of the co-op with your ring, ring, ring, ring. Oh, that was something I was gonna ask you about. Oh, I made a lot of people happy. Ring, ring, ring. I was gonna ask you how many mechanicals there were.
• 25:39
I did see a guy- [laughs]... changing a tire. I did hear your, your, uh- Pump... your air drill tool thing going.
• 25:45
Um, no one other than people heard that I had the pump and [laughs] - Well, one dude- Or, or more funnier- Didn't, didn't one, like, one guy, you tried to do it, but I think he just needed a new- His, his tire was shot...
• 25:53
yeah, he ended up over by me. Yeah. [laughs] Um, but the, the- It's like, "I'm not trying this at home."... way more hilarious part about riding, and the reason I chose to ride in power assist one,
• 26:06
my cargo bike, was because I was carrying eight amp hours of batteries, a pump, and best of all, my Sawzall. Oh, yeah.
• 26:16
So when I got to Abby's and we needed to make more fire, I, like, literally open the side of my bag, pull out a Sawzall and a battery [laughs] and people are like, "Have you been carrying that the whole ride?"
• 26:28
I, I got- I'm like, "Yeah." I do have some good pictures of you doing that too. [laughs] It was fun. They'll, they'll be in the show notes. It was really- That's where you get it. And we carried my tree. Photos.
• 26:38
Ken and I carried my tree down and burned it up. That was fun. Boy, those things went up. I tell you- They do. They do Oh, this is the time of year when those things crack, man. This is, this is when the fire...
• 26:45
We should've had the fire department there. It was gorgeous. Because they would've been like, "This is what's gonna happen inside your house. It's like whoosh." And- Right. Right. Yeah. But yes, that was fun.
• 26:54
We burned a lot of trees. Not the pot reference, but the actual burning of trees. Yeah. Well, no, like the Uptoner, it was smoke them if you got them. And Nolan, he had smoked meat sandwiches.
• 27:05
I did not get any sandwiches. Did you guys? Oh, they were good. I bet. I mean, Steve doesn't fuck around. It was, it was a h- like a Hawaiian, I guess, was it hammer pork?
• 27:14
One of the, one of the pig products, and sauerkraut, and it was made in a pan with... I gotta get this because they're like, it's a small little bun. They were great. The Hawaiian bun? You know what happened today?
• 27:25
I was hungry. [laughs] I went out to Costco. I went to Costco today and I bought four pounds of bacon. And, uh, also, I was gonna stop somewhere else.
• 27:34
I was gonna go to Jersey Mike's, but there was a Firehouse right there. I was like, "I haven't been to a Firehouse in, like, four years." Really? I've never been to a- Firehouse Subs E- either of them.
• 27:42
All right, as I'm walking in, they got a big- Me too. [laughs]... they got a big poster on the window, Hawaiian whatever. Same basic thing, only, like, the size of your head.
• 27:51
So I said, "Huh, I was gonna have a meatball," 'cause they do a pretty good meatball, "but I'm gonna do that Hawaiian thing today." So is it pineapple-y too?
• 27:58
No, it's just got, like, ham product or pork product- No, you're, you're talking, like-... with sauerkraut and it's a- Oh. Oh... it's a Hawaiian king bun kind of thing. Yeah, a sweet bun. Like a brioche. Sweet bun.
• 28:08
You eat sauerkraut? I didn't know that. Well, when it's on one of those sandwiches. Wow. Or when it's on a Reuben. Or when they slide it in there with the, all the pickles in there somehow.
• 28:16
There's no damn pickles in there. You never know when they slide them in there. No. And pulverize them into a paste. It's all right. I, it's just the actual physical- And then the brine just hangs out and you get it...
• 28:24
it's a finished, finished penis pickle size thing that's not- I tell you... making it with me. [laughs] Ugh, so a couple things- Ugh... couple things before we wrap it up here.
• 28:34
There's no snow, so check with your local fat bike race here- Just fog and wind... in the Midwest if they're actually gonna even have it. But there's no Birkie, man. I mean- Well, there may be...
• 28:41
if they're gonna try to make... It sounds so sad... February 12th is kind of like when they're gonna try and do their final plan. So sad.
• 28:46
'Cause it's two weeks after that, and then the Fat bike Birkie is March 9th, which they can run on gravel roads or whatever. Right, right, right.
• 28:52
I mean, you know, they're a lot more versatile than running your [laughs] $5,000 skis on gravel roads. [laughs] That's probably not gonna work that well.
• 29:01
[laughs] They need monster truck skis like those roller skis with- With like an e-assist. Oh. [laughs] E-assist. E-assist skis. [laughs] E-assist roller skis. Oh, Lord. We're already going there. Jesus.
• 29:09
Hey, hey, if they don't already have that, there's a reason. Right. But there's also an opportunity if you ask me. They have, they have a battery-powered snowboard now.
• 29:18
Oh, they have the really cool battery-powered, like- It's 3,000 watts. They have the really cool stuff. Oh, wow, man. I got a, I got a catalog from somewhere. I gotta check it out. [laughs] It's like a snow cat.
• 29:27
It's like a- It's like the Sears catalog of- Of, of e equipment... of e shit. [laughs] Yeah. Start circling stuff. Uh. Just several of my friends- Santa... have the snow blowers- Oh, Santa, can you bring me-...
• 29:39
and they're like, "Oh, it's the greatest thing I ever bought." Yeah. Um, I was looking at them. There's a bunch of them on without the batteries, and I have the batteries.
• 29:43
Yeah, for your Eco- I'm like, "Well, I don't know. If I could get one for, like, 200, I'd buy one." All right. Next year. Uh, koozie shout-out. Let's, that's sweet. K- we started that last week.
• 29:54
I know you're always gonna be W, obviously. I got- It doesn't even count. I got, uh, I got Single Speed USA, uh, 2019 from when they were in- Soul Asylum... in Texas. Wait, wait. You got what? I ga- I gave you. Oh, no.
• 30:07
Pillsbury Arcade? Those are future ones. Oh. Soul Asylum. Wow. Future ones. Soul Asylum and Foreign... Whoa. Those are future. Oh, they can come back. They can come on again. Future. They can come on the future.
• 30:19
It's a rotating stock, you know? How... Yeah, how are we gonna keep this going forever if we keep doing three or four or five a week? Come on, man. Getting more. Get your shit together. [laughs] Whoa.
• 30:30
Wow, I didn't know about the game plan. Yeah. [laughs] It's kinda, it's kind of on the fly. Oh. Also, you know what else? A half hour just flew by. [laughs] Is this how we play Clue? So- What?
• 30:42
Thank, thank you everybody for listening to our- Somebody did it in the kitchen with a pipe Candle sticks... uh, our first, our first video podcast. Thank you.
• 30:50
I, again, don't know if we'll see the light of day, but- We have all the evidence I got a face for radio, man... we're working towards it maybe. Now we can see what Tony was looking at on his phone.
• 30:59
Yeah, I'm gonna- [laughs] I'd actually just wanna watch that. I don't need to hear everybody chatting, I just wanna see what's going on under the table. That's my question down there.
• 31:06
There's shit going on underneath the table? [laughs] Shit, I didn't know about that. There's a frenzy of activity underneath the surface here. I don't wanna know about this. See, it makes for lots more convo though.
• 31:16
All right. Yeah. Uh, next week will be 241. Yeah. I assume we'll have the ability to- That's perilously close to, you know, what's coming up Front 242.
• 31:25
[drum sounds] Oh, that's gonna be a very industrial- We might have to have a Front 242 podcast. No, we could. We could. I'm looking forward to it. Nobody's gonna sue us, 'cause we don't have enough people listening, so.
• 31:38
[drum sounds] [laughs] All right, everybody. Next, next week then. Uh, hopefully Mark and, uh, and Big Sexy- Keep calling... are able to catch back up with us. Sorry, guys.
• 31:47
That's, you know, it makes sense when, when it doesn't work they call, right? Mm-hmm. All right. It'd probably work if we used a regular phone, doesn't matter phone. Shut up, you. Oh. [upbeat music] Now, now, now.
• 32:01
  [upbeat music]
