- 0:13Speaker 1: Oh man, this is a crazy time out in the
- 0:19Speaker 1: good old US Survey today, folks, and we really need
- 0:23Speaker 1: to talk about something. This is something that in general,
- 0:27Speaker 1: you know, you hear us talk about politics and the like.
- 0:29Speaker 1: Throughout our years of doing this show. We've never shied
- 0:33Speaker 1: away from those things. We've always distressed everything that's going on,
- 0:37Speaker 1: usually as it relates to geek and pop culture, of course,
- 0:40Speaker 1: and I guess this is once again relating to pop
- 0:43Speaker 1: and you know, geek culture too. I think, you know,
- 0:45Speaker 1: my man, Jimmy is definitely, you know, a geek of
- 0:48Speaker 1: some sort. I'm not sure. I mean it's well established, yeah,
- 0:52Speaker 1: part of the fandom, and now he's part of the unemployed.
- 0:56Speaker 1: He's out of line, but he's right. And we are
- 1:00Speaker 1: talking about the one and only Jimmy Kimmel who was unceremoniously.
- 1:07Speaker 2: What was the word they usedly suspended.
- 1:10Speaker 1: And definitely suspended from What's Jimmy Kimmel was the Tonight Show.
- 1:15Speaker 1: I'm not sure. I don't even pay attention anymore.
- 1:17Speaker 2: With Jimmy Kimmel Live jim which is a variation, you know,
- 1:24Speaker 2: multiverse version of the Tonight Show. All of these late
- 1:27Speaker 2: night hosts are all like mutations of the same show.
- 1:30Speaker 1: It's either the Tonight Show or David Letterman pretty much
- 1:32Speaker 1: like those are two you know, archetypes of talk of
- 1:36Speaker 1: late night talk shows for the most part, and of
- 1:39Speaker 1: course a great ar Senior Hall. But nobody's doing our
- 1:42Speaker 1: senior unfortunately. And there's the reason why. Man, that's all
- 1:46Speaker 1: it is. You saw a flavored slave, you know, me
- 1:48Speaker 1: and him's homies. Is that why you brought him out
- 1:50Speaker 1: just to show you have a black supporter, And no,
- 1:53Speaker 1: I brought him out because he's a friend of They
- 1:59Speaker 1: don't like that man. That don't bother me. I'm not
- 2:01Speaker 1: like by a lot of people. A lot of times
- 2:03Speaker 1: I say what I want to say to this American right.
- 2:08Speaker 1: But yeah, nobody's doing Jimmy Kimmel anymore either because Jimmy
- 2:11Speaker 1: Kimmel was let go or suspended indefinitely, whatever you want
- 2:15Speaker 1: to call it, because he decided to make some comments about.
- 2:23Speaker 2: And to be quite clear, he didn't make comments about
- 2:27Speaker 2: that man. He made comments about the alleged shooter of
- 2:32Speaker 2: that man.
- 2:33Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 2:33Speaker 2: His actual quote was the Maga gang desperately trying to
- 2:37Speaker 2: characterize this kid who unlived look as nothing other than
- 2:42Speaker 2: one of them and doing everything they can escore political
- 2:45Speaker 2: points from it, and between the finger pointing, there was grieving.
- 2:49Speaker 1: That's what he said.
- 2:52Speaker 2: He didn't say. He didn't disparage anybody's death. He didn't
- 2:56Speaker 2: say something he deserved it, none of that stuff. It was.
- 2:59Speaker 2: It was literally just pointing out the hypocrisy.
- 3:03Speaker 1: And the result was.
- 3:08Speaker 2: That this whole fascist regime calling for his oulster and
- 3:13Speaker 2: then the broadcasters, starting with next Star Media Group and
- 3:17Speaker 2: moving on up to ABC, decided to do this quote
- 3:20Speaker 2: indefinite suspension. ABC said that it's going to be pre
- 3:26Speaker 2: emptied indefinitely, which basically means they're holding it in limbo
- 3:30Speaker 2: like it doesn't exist. Worse, you had the FCC chairman themselves,
- 3:37Speaker 2: which who was on a podcast of all places, calling
- 3:41Speaker 2: Kimmel's comments quote truly sick and saying that there is
- 3:45Speaker 2: a strong case for action against ABC and Disney. So
- 3:49Speaker 2: because you have a fascist regime and the people who
- 3:52Speaker 2: are controlling the FCC that have control over the airwaves
- 3:56Speaker 2: feeling away about the truth being shared. Now you have
- 4:01Speaker 2: the broadcasters ABC, Disney and all these other people caving
- 4:04Speaker 2: into these demands that it's always already been a bridge
- 4:11Speaker 2: beyond what we've been seeing, but like it already happened
- 4:15Speaker 2: with Colbert with CBS, but like for this to happen again,
- 4:19Speaker 2: and it's just like dominoes. These these people, it's just like.
- 4:24Speaker 1: And Colbert at least they could claim those for other reasons.
- 4:27Speaker 1: They're not even hiding what it was for it to start.
- 4:30Speaker 1: I shouldn't be surprised, but.
- 4:32Speaker 2: The way in which these people, these companies, these organizations
- 4:40Speaker 2: folded like lawn chairs, immediate folding. And my thing is,
- 4:47Speaker 2: what if they did just leave shi all on what's
- 4:49Speaker 2: the worst that can happen. FCC's gonna find ABC. Y'all
- 4:53Speaker 2: have infinite money, find a way. And I understand that
- 4:59Speaker 2: it takes a level. Someone will come to me and
- 5:01Speaker 2: be like, well, no, you got to understand economics of
- 5:04Speaker 2: fuck that there has to be a level of courage
- 5:09Speaker 2: and a level of heart and a level of morality
- 5:13Speaker 2: that supersedes all of this bullshit. And it's not fucking there.
- 5:17Speaker 2: And you shouldn't expect that from a corporation anyway. I
- 5:20Speaker 2: get it, but it's there's nobody with backbones, absolutely nobody.
- 5:27Speaker 1: And that was even one of the themes. Like as
- 5:29Speaker 1: much as I loved and or I felt like that
- 5:32Speaker 1: was one probably my biggest issue with the show itself
- 5:36Speaker 1: was that I felt like it was showing people revolutions
- 5:38Speaker 1: so they could sit there and just sit in their
- 5:40Speaker 1: armchairs and not think about it, and then also showing
- 5:43Speaker 1: them a revolution on another galaxy so they might not
- 5:48Speaker 1: get it, you know. Like I know, it felt pretty
- 5:51Speaker 1: obvious to us what and Or was about, or something
- 5:54Speaker 1: like Superman is about. But there are people who can
- 5:57Speaker 1: see these things and still not get it, or not
- 6:00Speaker 1: care about it, or not related to the real world.
- 6:04Speaker 1: And so because of that, I really, like you said,
- 6:07Speaker 1: I don't expect any of these corporations to have any
- 6:09Speaker 1: heart or any courage or any of that thing. And
- 6:12Speaker 1: even when and Or came out, my brother Melo Brown
- 6:16Speaker 1: said that this is the last time will ever see
- 6:18Speaker 1: anything like this from Star Wars or probably any media,
- 6:23Speaker 1: the at least of America.
- 6:26Speaker 2: The coldest part about all of this is you steady folding.
- 6:31Speaker 2: But it's not going to change, and it's just going
- 6:33Speaker 2: to drive to want more.
- 6:35Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, historically we've seen this before.
- 6:38Speaker 2: The FCC chairman also said, speaking of ABC, they have
- 6:42Speaker 2: a license granted by us at the FCC that comes
- 6:45Speaker 2: with an obligation to operate in public interest, public interest
- 6:48Speaker 2: in this case meaning fascist interest. And he says that
- 6:51Speaker 2: back in March they said that they were launching an
- 6:53Speaker 2: investigation on Disney ABC regarding DEI. So what makes you
- 6:59Speaker 2: think essentially firing Jimmy Kimmel's gonna stop the pain, It's
- 7:05Speaker 2: just going to keep coming, is just going to get worse.
- 7:08Speaker 2: Once you fall to the bully, it's a rat. You
- 7:13Speaker 2: are the target, You are the will be forever be
- 7:15Speaker 2: the victim. And that's the part where I'm just like, yeah,
- 7:20Speaker 2: you're saying, you know, you have no morals, you have
- 7:21Speaker 2: no this, you have no debt. But it's just like,
- 7:23Speaker 2: do you have any self decency? No?
- 7:26Speaker 1: Why would they?
- 7:28Speaker 2: You're like, And that is the coldest and saddest part
- 7:30Speaker 2: about all that there's not even a self decent even like,
- 7:34Speaker 2: damn y'all not gonna let capitalism winning this money.
- 7:38Speaker 1: That's where I think it will draw the line, because
- 7:42Speaker 1: capitalism does run this country much more than democracy. And
- 7:46Speaker 1: like even that idea of threatening ABC with taking their
- 7:48Speaker 1: license away, I can't see ABC standing for some shit
- 7:52Speaker 1: like that. You know, like you're not gonna threaten us,
- 7:54Speaker 1: but you know who we are. You know, we're a multinational,
- 7:57Speaker 1: billion dollar corporation. You know, so I can't see them folding.
- 8:02Speaker 1: You know, they own Florida like I don't.
- 8:07Speaker 2: Yeah, the concept of everyone runs to this With the
- 8:11Speaker 2: First Amendment, the concept of free speech was there never
- 8:13Speaker 2: really was quote speech in this country.
- 8:15Speaker 1: Yeah, I've been.
- 8:16Speaker 2: There was always depending on who's in power, there was
- 8:20Speaker 2: always marginally accepted speech, and then speech that would particularly
- 8:26Speaker 2: speech from people of color and black people, that would
- 8:28Speaker 2: always be policed.
- 8:30Speaker 1: Yeah, I think that was. That's been one of my
- 8:32Speaker 1: biggest problems is and I really hate, you know, people
- 8:36Speaker 1: who lump people into liberals and conservatives, but I really
- 8:40Speaker 1: hate seeing people saying, oh my god, there's no more
- 8:44Speaker 1: free speech. There never was. I always go back to
- 8:48Speaker 1: one of my favorite rappers and actor's Iced Tea, one
- 8:52Speaker 1: of his very early albums. You can google this because
- 8:55Speaker 1: obviously a lot of people have never heard of it
- 8:57Speaker 1: or seen it. It's called freedom of speech. But watch
- 9:00Speaker 1: what you say freedom exactly. And the album cover is
- 9:04Speaker 1: a black man with three with guns in his ears
- 9:06Speaker 1: and a gun in his mouth, because it's freedom of speech.
- 9:10Speaker 1: But watch what you say, right, And.
- 9:12Speaker 2: I know that people from other countries who have been
- 9:16Speaker 2: in dictatorships and all this other stuff will say, well, no,
- 9:18Speaker 2: y'all really did have freedom speech because over where I
- 9:22Speaker 2: was ADVI said something right, you know, their version of
- 9:24Speaker 2: the gstopo will come and pick them up. I get you,
- 9:27Speaker 2: but we're here now, yeah, and we're here now where
- 9:31Speaker 2: that's happening.
- 9:31Speaker 1: And to disavow that point that has always only been
- 9:37Speaker 1: true for white men and white women who associate with them,
- 9:41Speaker 1: because if you step out of line freedom of speech
- 9:44Speaker 1: again is watch what you say. It has always been
- 9:48Speaker 1: that way in America. There's never been a time where
- 9:51Speaker 1: a black man can go out and say type of
- 9:53Speaker 1: things and not get shot. Like, I don't want to
- 9:56Speaker 1: hear that from other people in other countries because if
- 9:58Speaker 1: you truly understand, and that's a problem. That's why I
- 10:01Speaker 1: always you know, talk about when a lot of white
- 10:04Speaker 1: men try and describe, you know, white British men trying
- 10:06Speaker 1: and describe America, and I'm like, you don't really get it,
- 10:09Speaker 1: because until you've been here and been one of us,
- 10:11Speaker 1: you will never understand that. There always ask this question,
- 10:15Speaker 1: how many Native Americans, Indigenous Americans do you know? Do
- 10:21Speaker 1: you know, like anyone watching the personally, how many do
- 10:25Speaker 1: you know full blooded you know, et cetera. And so
- 10:30Speaker 1: you want to talk about freedom of speech, what freedom
- 10:33Speaker 1: of speech do they have? None? Because they're dead? You know.
- 10:37Speaker 1: I really that part just distressed me. When people talk about, oh,
- 10:42Speaker 1: you don't know what you have in America. Now we
- 10:44Speaker 1: know exactly what we have in America. Some people don't
- 10:47Speaker 1: know what we have in America. But we who have
- 10:49Speaker 1: been under this boot of it for as long as
- 10:52Speaker 1: it's know what we have in America. Well a lot
- 10:56Speaker 1: of us do some of us, you know, think they
- 10:57Speaker 1: can lit that boot and get out of it.
- 10:59Speaker 2: But and and you also have the active attacks on
- 11:02Speaker 2: journalists like literally this week Karen Attia, who was the
- 11:08Speaker 2: only black and she's a black woman. She's the Washington
- 11:13Speaker 2: Post opinion columnist who was one of the founding column
- 11:15Speaker 2: The People, a journalist of that column. The Washington Post
- 11:19Speaker 2: fired her for she She had a piece where she
- 11:22Speaker 2: expressed that there were racial double standards in social media
- 11:26Speaker 2: regarding regarding the action that happened, the unliving that happened.
- 11:32Speaker 2: She used the guy who was unalives quote, she quoted
- 11:36Speaker 2: his words. She didn't once again didn't say someone could
- 11:39Speaker 2: have should have been you know, un alive, didn't say nothing,
- 11:42Speaker 2: Old quoted the guy and was fired. Also, Jeff Bezos
- 11:49Speaker 2: own the Washington Post, and we already know where that goes, right,
- 11:54Speaker 2: And it's just like and then remember if y'all was
- 11:57Speaker 2: listening to the most recent show, I had told y'all
- 12:01Speaker 2: how it just felt so and granted, yes, it's just
- 12:04Speaker 2: different times, different masters. It's felt so weird to watch
- 12:08Speaker 2: the Emmys and see Tim I go home again, Tim Apple,
- 12:11Speaker 2: Tim Apple sitting there amongst the other studio heads. I
- 12:15Speaker 2: was just sitting there like, that's a tech guy. Like,
- 12:18Speaker 2: so like, imagine you sitting in a room where it's
- 12:21Speaker 2: just like like in some ways, like I understand it's
- 12:24Speaker 2: the future in tech, and not to say tech can't
- 12:26Speaker 2: get into this space, but like it's almost getting the US.
- 12:29Speaker 2: There needs to be a separation in church and state
- 12:31Speaker 2: type shit, because you have these people who have unrequited
- 12:34Speaker 2: power over the data, over the devices, over the way
- 12:38Speaker 2: that we communicate, who now also control the entertainment Apple, Amazon,
- 12:44Speaker 2: all these people the stuff that we cover on this
- 12:47Speaker 2: show on a daily basis. These are the people pulling
- 12:51Speaker 2: the strings when it comes to politics. These are people
- 12:55Speaker 2: with pullachers when it comes to what you can or
- 12:57Speaker 2: do not hear on the media. These are people pulling
- 13:00Speaker 2: the strings when it comes to policy how you live
- 13:04Speaker 2: or don't live in this country. And like I said,
- 13:07Speaker 2: I just it is. It is one of the most
- 13:12Speaker 2: and it's always been scary in this country, particularly for
- 13:16Speaker 2: black people. Yeah, but it's it's because I'm personally experienced it.
- 13:22Speaker 2: Of course, it's truly terrifying.
- 13:25Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't think people have ever been able to
- 13:29Speaker 1: comprehend that. If you're not you know of it. It's
- 13:33Speaker 1: some one of those things where I tell people, like,
- 13:34Speaker 1: it's really tough for me to describe being incarcerated until
- 13:38Speaker 1: you've been incarcerated. You'll never understand what a loss of
- 13:42Speaker 1: freedom means until you've lost freedom, you know, I cannot
- 13:46Speaker 1: describe it to you. It's just it's a it's it's
- 13:49Speaker 1: an unnatural feeling. And because of that, that's one of
- 13:53Speaker 1: the reasons why I'm so anti any of what has
- 13:56Speaker 1: been happening, Because I know what it's like to have
- 13:59Speaker 1: my free them taking away from me completely, and so
- 14:03Speaker 1: because of that, I won't stand for any loss of freedom.
- 14:06Speaker 1: You know, in my personal life, at least, and this
- 14:11Speaker 1: country is I don't think it's headed in I mean,
- 14:15Speaker 1: obviously we already know it's not headed into a good place.
- 14:18Speaker 1: But this is one of those things where I just
- 14:20Speaker 1: I'm like, all right, I get it. You know, y'all
- 14:25Speaker 1: got this because it's been eight months. Eight months, and
- 14:32Speaker 1: like I've said before on other episodes, if you cannot
- 14:35Speaker 1: leave this country, then I would fully suggest working on
- 14:39Speaker 1: your community. And I mean that in a hard way.
- 14:43Speaker 1: I mean planting gardens, I mean getting to know your neighbors,
- 14:46Speaker 1: I mean finding help, you know, finding the resources you
- 14:52Speaker 1: need to survive what's coming, because it's only going to
- 14:55Speaker 1: get worse. That's the thing. Like as Tatanna just said,
- 14:59Speaker 1: it's only been eight months, and you know people are
- 15:04Speaker 1: looking at midterms and things of that nature, you know, voting.
- 15:07Speaker 1: I got into an argument with a friend of mine
- 15:08Speaker 1: the other day of the Howard Brad you know, great brother,
- 15:11Speaker 1: but or not an argument, just a distression really, and
- 15:14Speaker 1: we were just both talking about it, and you know,
- 15:16Speaker 1: he thinks that, you know, voting is going to help,
- 15:20Speaker 1: and I told him that I don't think voting has
- 15:23Speaker 1: ever done anything in this country, to be honest, Like
- 15:26Speaker 1: every type of movement that I've ever seen work in
- 15:30Speaker 1: this country wasn't done through voting. And the idea that
- 15:33Speaker 1: Martin Luther King and them died for the right to
- 15:35Speaker 1: vote is one of those lies that were told, you know,
- 15:38Speaker 1: and it really disturbs me because it reduces the movement
- 15:41Speaker 1: of what they and what they went through and what
- 15:43Speaker 1: they died for for the right to vote, which wasn't
- 15:46Speaker 1: the case. They were fighting for the right to be
- 15:48Speaker 1: alive and live free lives. Voting just came along with that.
- 15:53Speaker 1: I mean, that was not like people didn't want to
- 15:55Speaker 1: be lynched in the street. That's what they were fighting for,
- 15:59Speaker 1: you know. It this idea that oh, we just vote,
- 16:01Speaker 1: you know, this will change. No, We're way past that, man,
- 16:04Speaker 1: Like I don't believe that anymore. I never really did
- 16:07Speaker 1: for that matter, I don't mean.
- 16:09Speaker 2: You know, and you have and you mentioned, you mentioned lynchings.
- 16:12Speaker 2: It's happening again.
- 16:14Speaker 1: I mean, it never stopped.
- 16:15Speaker 2: It never stopped. But listen, never stopped the way it
- 16:18Speaker 2: is ship is now it's happening again.
- 16:21Speaker 1: M hmm.
- 16:23Speaker 2: What happened in mississippis Mississippi Delta, the Delta University Delta.
- 16:28Speaker 2: Uh yeah, Delta University. Yeah, black people don't hang themselves
- 16:35Speaker 2: guys from trees anyway.
- 16:37Speaker 1: But like like I said, in my lifetime, I can
- 16:40Speaker 1: remember when in Texas they dragged a black man behind
- 16:44Speaker 1: a car from behind the truck to kill him. Like
- 16:48Speaker 1: in my lifetime, you know, I remember that. You know,
- 16:51Speaker 1: so this so it doesn't never stop.
- 16:53Speaker 2: It's just the now climate we're in where it's where
- 16:58Speaker 2: it is essentially open season, and and these this this
- 17:04Speaker 2: element is emboldened to do things like that. First of all,
- 17:07Speaker 2: rest in power to.
- 17:08Speaker 1: Tray read yep. You didn't deserve that.
- 17:12Speaker 2: You didn't you didn't even have a chance. And I
- 17:20Speaker 2: know this is like, while depressing for people, this is
- 17:24Speaker 2: very scary for people to hear. What's even scarier is
- 17:28Speaker 2: being silenced about talking about all of this things. That's
- 17:34Speaker 2: and Ben and I right before we got on it
- 17:37Speaker 2: was something that I started talking about and I said,
- 17:38Speaker 2: I'm gonna wait until we record because it's just in
- 17:43Speaker 2: my spirit to say, please don't stop talking, Please don't
- 17:49Speaker 2: start fighting, Please keep fighting, keep speaking out, keep standing
- 17:53Speaker 2: up for yourself to the degree that you can, to
- 17:57Speaker 2: the best of your ability, to the best of your
- 18:01Speaker 2: ability to express yourself. You have to keep going.
- 18:08Speaker 1: And like I just say again, look at groups like
- 18:11Speaker 1: but the model. I always follow those groups like Black Panthers,
- 18:14Speaker 1: you know, people who said power to all people. You know,
- 18:17Speaker 1: people who tried to unify black white Latin don't matter everybody,
- 18:23Speaker 1: power to all people. I mean. I'm also a big
- 18:26Speaker 1: fan of Doctor Browner, you know, and his soaps, and
- 18:29Speaker 1: what Doctor Browner says on his soap is all a
- 18:32Speaker 1: one or all none. And that's something that I've always
- 18:35Speaker 1: believed in very strongly. And that's why i'm you know,
- 18:38Speaker 1: when people are like the right people and all, I'm like, no, man,
- 18:41Speaker 1: that's just a you know, it's just a trap. You know,
- 18:44Speaker 1: everyone suffers under toxic whiteness. The only people who benefit
- 18:49Speaker 1: are the ultra rich. That's it. Everyone else suffers, and
- 18:53Speaker 1: the trap is to keep us fighting each other. And
- 18:56Speaker 1: that's why I've always been so against that. I've always
- 18:59Speaker 1: been against anything that divides people on any level. And
- 19:04Speaker 1: that's why I say again and again, build up your community,
- 19:08Speaker 1: you know what I mean, Like, learn to barter and
- 19:10Speaker 1: trade with each other, get away from this capitalist system.
- 19:14Speaker 1: I was talking about that the other day because I
- 19:16Speaker 1: saw someone say this where they said the more healed
- 19:19Speaker 1: they became, the less ambitious they became. And that really
- 19:23Speaker 1: struck a chord with me because I've been doing a
- 19:25Speaker 1: lot of healing this year, and I've become less ambitious
- 19:29Speaker 1: and not in the way where I don't want to
- 19:31Speaker 1: do a lot of things. If you know, Todd down,
- 19:32Speaker 1: I'll tell you I'm over here like constantly doing shit.
- 19:36Speaker 1: But it's just like I don't. My goal isn't to
- 19:38Speaker 1: do things to you know, become king of the world
- 19:43Speaker 1: or you know, have a lot of money. It's just
- 19:46Speaker 1: my goal is to do things because I want to
- 19:48Speaker 1: create and put out good energy into the world, and
- 19:51Speaker 1: I want to be of service to other people. And
- 19:52Speaker 1: I feel like, you know, creating and giving out music
- 19:55Speaker 1: and djaying and doing this podcast and writing, you know,
- 20:00Speaker 1: everything I do in some way is of being service
- 20:02Speaker 1: to people. So it's just like that's what I'm trying
- 20:05Speaker 1: to push people on, is work on your community. Get
- 20:08Speaker 1: to know people. Stop living in this system so much like,
- 20:12Speaker 1: stop spending money for everything you know you don't need,
- 20:16Speaker 1: but little things. Buy us. Buy from your local bookstores,
- 20:20Speaker 1: you know, from your local shops, support locals, build up
- 20:24Speaker 1: your community, because that's all we have right now, man, Like, yeah,
- 20:31Speaker 1: that is really it. And like Tatana said you in
- 20:33Speaker 1: that community talk, you know, get to know people look
- 20:36Speaker 1: away from your damn phones. That's another thing that keep
- 20:39Speaker 1: people in these traps and keeps people divided and keep
- 20:42Speaker 1: people angry, you know what I mean. Like it's so
- 20:45Speaker 1: hard to not look at any social media and not
- 20:48Speaker 1: get immediately angry because because it's one design to make
- 20:51Speaker 1: you angry, but fall into.
- 20:52Speaker 2: The rabbit holes where you see the tragedy and a
- 20:56Speaker 2: trauma and a terrorization, and then you keep looking for
- 20:59Speaker 2: more because stats, and.
- 21:03Speaker 1: Then you think that that's all there is in the world.
- 21:05Speaker 1: I follow this account where the one guy every day
- 21:07Speaker 1: posts five bits of good news, and because I repost
- 21:10Speaker 1: it every day, I see it every day. And it's
- 21:12Speaker 1: like there's a lot of good things happening in the world,
- 21:16Speaker 1: but you have to find out about them. Like we
- 21:18Speaker 1: were just talking about this before the show too, Like
- 21:20Speaker 1: I feel really bad for the Native Americans and the
- 21:23Speaker 1: indigenous people of this country when people talk about like
- 21:25Speaker 1: I can't leave this country and all that, But recently
- 21:28Speaker 1: indigenous people were granted I'm not even I can't remember
- 21:31Speaker 1: the exact tribe, but they were granted access to their
- 21:33Speaker 1: river again. They tore it down this damn or in
- 21:37Speaker 1: the West, and they were granted, like, you know, thousands
- 21:40Speaker 1: of acres of land back. So good things do happen,
- 21:43Speaker 1: you know, in the midst of this nonsense. You know,
- 21:45Speaker 1: Native Americans, indigenous people got their land back and how
- 21:48Speaker 1: and can live the way they've lived for thousands of
- 21:51Speaker 1: years ago. You know, so themes there are good things.
- 21:55Speaker 1: You just have to look out for them. And you
- 21:57Speaker 1: have to, like I said, you got to stay as
- 22:01Speaker 1: much away from those rabbit holes of oppression, because, yes,
- 22:05Speaker 1: the world's fucked up. Like as going back to the review,
- 22:08Speaker 1: we just dropped of one battle after another, which you know,
- 22:11Speaker 1: I've seen to be one of the few credits who
- 22:13Speaker 1: saw it this way so far. At least, I just
- 22:15Speaker 1: felt was a very cynical fucking piece of movie. And
- 22:19Speaker 1: I don't believe in that type of stuff because the
- 22:21Speaker 1: world is terrible enough, and if you have the power
- 22:24Speaker 1: to make art and all that type of things, why
- 22:26Speaker 1: made something cynical, Especially when it's on such a large scale,
- 22:30Speaker 1: like a Hollywood production where millions of people can see it.
- 22:34Speaker 1: That's just weird to me, you know what. I mean,
- 22:35Speaker 1: that's just negative, nihilistic thinking, and that's you know, we
- 22:41Speaker 1: don't need any more of that
