- 0:01Yeah, I see. The world through an entirely
- 0:03different lens. It doesn't just give you
- 0:06confidence, but it gives you hope.
- 0:11Take like we're squandering our energy, our life force.
- 0:14So Bitcoin is changing that for me.
- 0:17It's like it's healing energy. It gives you a kind of.
- 0:22Of a stand. Feeling right?
- 0:28Deep and deep and deep. In the immortal words of the
- 0:31doors, the time to hesitate us through.
- 0:59Huddle Tarantula. Finally.
- 1:02It's happening, man. Yo just trying to put another
- 1:09day in the books in regards to proof of work man.
- 1:13You know how hard it is to pin down a futuristic land, man,
- 1:18It's it's not been easy, but we're here and we're doing it
- 1:23and I don't think it could have come at a better time of year,
- 1:25to be honest. So for all of the back.
- 1:29Christmas miracle. Yes, Sir, we got there.
- 1:33We got to cross the line. And I'm very grateful for that
- 1:37man. So thank you.
- 1:38I know you got to you lead a very dynamic life, shall we say?
- 1:43It's been. Yeah.
- 1:45As I said, it's hard to pin you down, but you know, you're,
- 1:47you're doing, you're doing the gods work.
- 1:49So it's it's awesome to have you on the pod, man.
- 1:54I appreciate your kind words my brother.
- 1:57I as you said dynamic. That's that's kind of an
- 2:01understatement. I wear easily 5-6 different hats
- 2:05a day from network engineering to ASIC troubleshooting and
- 2:09repair to like literally check in MCF per day off of a gas well
- 2:14and diagnosing the compressor, running the gas to the Mr. US
- 2:18and more. Maybe have to bypass with a
- 2:20Bailon valve to keep the Jenny going and holler back.
- 2:22Keep them Asic's, hollering and screaming, but doing everything
- 2:26in between. Definitely dynamic is a good
- 2:29word for it. I, I, I can't help but think
- 2:32that you must be one of the smartest motherfuckers on the
- 2:35planet if you're doing all of that in a day.
- 2:39It's, it's nuts. I mean, we tried to arrange this
- 2:42a couple of weeks ago and I think just at the time we were
- 2:47about to jump on like it just everything just turned to shit.
- 2:51And you were having to to, you know, spin that many plates in
- 2:56order to just fix whatever was in front of you rather than let
- 3:00alone jump on a pod, which, you know, this is the easy part.
- 3:03And I feel like completely inadequate next to some.
- 3:07Well, you're talking about the. The thing for me is priorities,
- 3:14right? And if they're not aligned
- 3:16properly, you're doomed to fail in life.
- 3:19And for me, proof of work is my #1 priority aside from my baby
- 3:24daughter. And I got, you know, I got to
- 3:28put the First things first. You know, when things go go all
- 3:32up and downhill in the field, there's not a lot of people that
- 3:35can actually do what I do from start to finish from the gas
- 3:38well to configuring the ASICS to the pool.
- 3:41And so, you know, when the call comes, I answer otherwise
- 3:45operation fails. So, you know, so I didn't mean
- 3:49to put you off that day, but you know, getting that hash rate
- 3:53number go up is so important for me.
- 3:56You know, it's it's what pays the bills.
- 3:59It's what keeps us, you know, the network going in the face of
- 4:04this ridiculous tyranny we see today.
- 4:06You got got other people getting shut down in other countries,
- 4:09you got people fighting with power grid and everything else.
- 4:12And so for me, keeping it going out in the field is #1.
- 4:17I think that's why I referred to you as a futuristic land man.
- 4:21So it'd be cool to unpack that a little bit as we go on with the
- 4:25pod because I mean, you are, for lack of a better metaphor at the
- 4:31coalface, you know, in terms of keeping the network, I mean,
- 4:37like contributing to the network doing all of these things is
- 4:41what would you call them? Non what is it?
- 4:44What? Yeah, you know, off off a grid
- 4:47energy ASIC, minds and hearts and things.
- 4:52We can we can unpack all of this.
- 4:54You know, I'm I hesitate to use the word Nick Carter uses, which
- 4:57is non rival energy, but we'll we'll get to all of that.
- 5:02He ain't never seen somebody like me producing the.
- 5:05Star is. Shit, he.
- 5:07Look, our star is always rising all together.
- 5:09You know, we're always rising. Let me ask a question.
- 5:14It's hilarious. I just laugh at that term
- 5:17unreliable energy, because if I'm the one behind the meter
- 5:21running it, this is going to be more reliable than your mommy
- 5:25talking you in at night at five years old.
- 5:28He said he he said non rival, which actually it's a good term,
- 5:32non rival energy, you know, like it's otherwise being wasted.
- 5:37Yeah. Yeah, I'll take that because the
- 5:39way we produce, there is nothing that rivals the way we put on.
- 5:43There you go. Unrivalled energy.
- 5:45Fuck yeah, that's a good name for a company.
- 5:48OK, you can have that one for free.
- 5:51No, I like that actually. How did you discover Bitcoin?
- 5:58OK, so as per the name of the podcast, I think that's a good
- 6:02place to start discovering Bitcoin was for me a almost
- 6:09like, I would say kind of like an accident almost.
- 6:14I was cruising around YouTube. I had already came around to
- 6:20understand stocks, equities, you know, things of the traditional
- 6:24Fiat fuckery system and had been, you know, looking into the
- 6:31C word. We'll just leave it at that
- 6:36crypto. And well, there was a lot of
- 6:42things going on. Then it was the ICO phase.
- 6:45There was all kinds of scammery. I actually saw a short video
- 6:50post for Bit Connect recently with Carlos Matthos and MEN.
- 6:57Yo, I remember that like it was yesterday.
- 7:00And so I'm cruising around on YouTube.
- 7:04These fools had all kinds of promotional shit going back then
- 7:08on there. And so I, you know, being
- 7:13uneducated about what Bitcoin actually was at that point, I'm
- 7:17humble enough to admit that I didn't know shit about fuck in
- 7:20regards to Bitcoin then. And the thing that had occurred
- 7:25was I got these crazy advertisements coming at me left
- 7:31and right for all these shitty Ponzi scheme platforms.
- 7:35And I had excess capital available and some equities that
- 7:39I was just like, let me do something with this.
- 7:42And so I took it. And to my detriment, I had
- 7:47spread it out a little bit. I put by maybe 20% of what I had
- 7:52sitting on the side into some of this Kaka, these Kaka.
- 7:57And within just a couple months, the Security Exchange Commission
- 8:03comes out and makes a broad statement about all these
- 8:06platforms and they start dropping like flies left and
- 8:11right. And the haircut that I ended up
- 8:16taking was about 30% overall, which some people lost
- 8:20everything. And so I was kind of fortunate
- 8:23to be, you know, wise enough to say, OK, some something bad is
- 8:28happening here. It's time to pull out, go back
- 8:30full liquid Fiat and reassess what the hell just happened in
- 8:34regards to this situation. So I'm sitting there just
- 8:39basically wrecked mentally and trying to figure out what's
- 8:44going on here. I'm looking at all this
- 8:45different stuff, but one thing I did notice was that during all
- 8:51of this introduction and like gambling per SE, I realized that
- 8:57every single one of these shit coin casinos wanted me to use my
- 9:03Fiat currency to buy Bitcoin and then send it to them in exchange
- 9:09for whatever trash they were peddling.
- 9:11And that, I noticed, was the common denominator.
- 9:15They didn't want my credit card number.
- 9:17They didn't want me to send a MoneyGram or Western Union.
- 9:20They didn't want ACH or routing checking, nothing.
- 9:24All they wanted every single last one of them was for me to
- 9:29buy Bitcoin and then send it to them in exchange for their crap.
- 9:33So I had kind of like a little light bulb moment here in
- 9:37regards to recognizing Bitcoin being the common denominator
- 9:40across the spectrum for all of it.
- 9:43And so it sparked my curiosity and I, you know, went into the,
- 9:50we'll call it the Oracle machine Google and started asking what
- 9:55is Bitcoin, you know? And then I found the
- 9:57bitcointalk.org. I found, you know, a few other
- 10:01sites. That was the main one that stood
- 10:02out to me that I can remember right now with regards to
- 10:06information on Bitcoin because that's where I found the white
- 10:08paper. And then a little bit about
- 10:12myself. My background before I got into
- 10:15Bitcoin mining in 2017 or like the end of 2017 was I did
- 10:20automation, robotics and works at these different places like
- 10:27Amazon, Kiva, Kroger, Logistics, to name a few.
- 10:32And what I knew was automation and distribution and systems and
- 10:39firmware, software application of that to hardware in order to
- 10:43make things work and actually do form the tasks that they're
- 10:47required for. And I realized while reading up
- 10:51on Bitcoin that I I can actually build this.
- 10:54This is something that I can build.
- 10:57And I thought that that was very unique and interesting in
- 11:00itself. But what also was very
- 11:03eye-catching for me was the concept of money without a bank.
- 11:08Because during my little shit coinie phase there in the
- 11:13beginning, I didn't think about it until I had read the white
- 11:17paper about what is money. And that utilizing this, I was
- 11:23able to, with nobody's permission or asking anyone,
- 11:26just send this money, this value from A to B.
- 11:33And it required no third party C to actually initiate or, or, you
- 11:39know, contribute anything to it to get it done.
- 11:42And that was even more powerful for me because as you can see, I
- 11:47am a man who does not ask permission.
- 11:50I build, I do. And sometimes along the way,
- 11:55I'll ask forgiveness if I feel I've actually done something
- 11:57wrong. But like, all of that basically
- 12:03just put me on the fast track to fire.
- 12:07I wanted to build something that was meaningful in regards to
- 12:13like being involved with Bitcoin.
- 12:15And I knew instantly that I could do it.
- 12:17Like, and mining for me because of the application of the
- 12:21software to the hardware was like a simple, simple thing for
- 12:25me. And I was just like in awe.
- 12:28I was like, wow, this is absolutely incredible.
- 12:31It's something that I had never conceived of money without at a
- 12:34bank before and to kind of have that introduced to me and and
- 12:42understand after coming to read more about it and how it
- 12:46operates and everything and realizing that I can actually
- 12:50build this. And man, it was just off to the
- 12:55races. By the end of 2017, I had pulled
- 12:58every little bit of capital that I had available to myself from
- 13:02every single place that it was. I liquidated all the equities I
- 13:05had. I, I took all of my Fiat in
- 13:09every form and turned it into Bitcoin and started using it to
- 13:14purchase ASIC mining equipment. And I just started building it.
- 13:19Far out. Yeah, you just that was that's
- 13:21it in production. Feet first, let's go.
- 13:25Oh yeah, I basically born in fire.
- 13:28You know, that's kind of how I I run.
- 13:31And had you, I mean, you read the white paper.
- 13:34Are you one of these, these folk that read the white paper and,
- 13:38and instantly crocked what it was trying to achieve?
- 13:42I mean, like if you, if you read the first sentence and you don't
- 13:44get that, you're an idiot. But, you know, like everything
- 13:48else. That's funny, You just took the
- 13:50words right out of my mouth. I, I was going to say, well, the
- 13:56first couple paragraphs are kind of like, it's like if, I mean,
- 14:00if you're not like on board and understanding what's going on,
- 14:05then you might want to look at educating yourself in other ways
- 14:08first before you, you know, you're probably having a hard
- 14:11time wiping your backside. If you're not getting that so
- 14:16right exactly. And then so, so I understood
- 14:22that and how powerful that that could be.
- 14:28And then it was just kind of going through the the rest of it
- 14:32in regards to how it operates on, in regards to the rails that
- 14:39make it viable, decentralization nodes and everything else that
- 14:46because I had always built in systems that were centralized in
- 14:50regards to the automation and robotics industry that is used
- 14:54for distribution nowadays and logistics.
- 14:56I at first was like, I wonder how well this will operate and
- 15:04how like it's already obviously it's been going since 2009 and,
- 15:08and everything it seems strong. And then once I figured out
- 15:15about it operating behind Tor and everything else, I kind of
- 15:19was like, well, this really isn't something that can be
- 15:22captured or beaten in that respect.
- 15:26And so I, I just kind of like figured, you know what, instead
- 15:33of waiting to understand this, just start building it and you
- 15:39know, the knowledge and everything will come along the
- 15:43way. I wasn't going to allow myself
- 15:45to have analysis paralysis with it.
- 15:47In other words, I wanted to know more.
- 15:50I wanted to have an experience that taught me.
- 15:54And, you know, as they say, pain is a powerful teacher.
- 15:57But if you're not willing to, you know, get your hands dirty
- 16:00and, you know, get close to the fire, you're never going to, you
- 16:04know, necessarily have contact with that thing that will create
- 16:08the pain that will teach you. And so I just went for it and
- 16:14that was that. I mean, I can think of countless
- 16:19scenarios in my life where you're, you join and you get a
- 16:24new job or something and you knew you got to learn something
- 16:28new and you sit down and someone sat next to you and they're
- 16:31taking you through the steps to do the thing.
- 16:34And in my mind, I'm just like, I'm not going to remember any of
- 16:37this. I just need to start doing it.
- 16:41Correct, we can. Waste a day here.
- 16:43Or we could just start getting it done and you know, if I have
- 16:46questions, I. Appreciate that.
- 16:48I will, I will, I will flag them.
- 16:50But otherwise, can we just, can we just crack on like do it?
- 16:54I'll learn exactly by doing, you know.
- 16:57Yep, same here. I operate the same way.
- 17:02I have tried to read a book about something countless times
- 17:08and then I get to it and I'm like, hmm, well we got to go
- 17:12back to the book now, you know? But if I just like, for example,
- 17:17Pierce, Pierce and Case directors, they are the things
- 17:20that are responsible for pumping out literally hundreds, if not
- 17:241000 boxes, you know, in a couple hours for, you know, like
- 17:28your Amazon warehouses and stuff.
- 17:30And I have my first experience with one of those was an
- 17:34operations manager telling me that OK, here, this piece of
- 17:38machinery cost literally $400,000 and we need you to be
- 17:43educated on how it operates before we allow you to go out
- 17:46there and fix it. And I was like, OK, well, what
- 17:51are you going to be doing later in case I have questions.
- 17:53And the guys like, well, actually I got to take off here
- 17:57in a bit, but it should take you about this much time to get
- 18:00through this manual and everything, and then we'll pick
- 18:02up tomorrow. Well, I waited for him to leave
- 18:05and I just went directly to that piece of machinery and started
- 18:09working on preventative maintenance.
- 18:11And, you know, looking at how everything worked and basically
- 18:16taking it apart in time that the line was able to be down without
- 18:20creating any issues on production.
- 18:22And I had that thing mastered within like a couple hours and
- 18:28later on in the day they had an issue with another one of them.
- 18:31And I was able to fix it and literally like 15 minutes or
- 18:35less diagnose the issue, get the parts and disassemble it, put it
- 18:40back together and have operating at full capacity.
- 18:42And the guy comes in the next day and he's like, what happened
- 18:48yesterday? I found this manual on my desk
- 18:53and I figured that I'd be coming to you to get it later and and
- 18:59talk to you about it. But instead I hear that they had
- 19:02an issue on the line and you just fixed it.
- 19:05I was like, well, yeah, that's what you hired me for in it.
- 19:08And he's like, well, yeah. But I was like, look man, I
- 19:11don't learn very well like this. I'm a hands on kind of guy.
- 19:14So if you know, if you want, you want me to be better faster.
- 19:19And this was on like I was supposed to be starting on a
- 19:21second shift. I said put me on 1st shift with
- 19:24your lead who runs the whole facility and let me shadow him
- 19:28for a couple weeks and then I don't need nothing else.
- 19:30I'll call you if I need some. And that's what he did.
- 19:33And within I stayed there for 3 1/2 years and within those 3 1/2
- 19:39years, I managed to level up to the highest paid position that I
- 19:43could possibly achieve in that facility.
- 19:46And, well, it was all because of my willingness to just go do it
- 19:51instead of waiting to be told or, you know, risk the reading
- 19:57the book for hours and hours straight instead of just, you
- 20:01know, being balls enough to just go get it, you know?
- 20:05So that's basically how I run. A lot of, I can think of some
- 20:10situations where employees would be a little bit put off by that
- 20:14and and maybe because, you know, they're slackers themselves.
- 20:18But yeah, I mean, he obviously, it sounds like he responded well
- 20:23to that demonstration of initiative and you know.
- 20:27What? Well, the interesting thing
- 20:29about how I had achieved that position was I wanted to get a,
- 20:37you know, a tech job. They're doing technical
- 20:40maintenance on this stuff, but they didn't have any positions
- 20:44available at the time when I had first applied.
- 20:47And I have no computer science degree.
- 20:51No, no background in any of that stuff at all.
- 20:55I literally just, you know, taught myself everything.
- 21:00I mean, I didn't even finish a traditional high school.
- 21:03I literally unenrolled myself through forging some paperwork
- 21:10and then re enrolled myself in a correspondence school and
- 21:13graduated probably about a year and a half ahead of that class.
- 21:17And so it's just in my nature to be unbridled, so to speak.
- 21:23And so when I took the initial job at this place, since they
- 21:27had no openings available, I took a job as a janitor just so
- 21:31I can get my foot in the door because the same department was
- 21:36for sanitation. They also did the automation and
- 21:39robotics and all that other stuff because those guys would
- 21:42help the other technicians with cleaning equipment if there was
- 21:46a product break or something like that on board.
- 21:49And so I had an opportunity while something was going on
- 21:53with the a conveyor line with proximity sensor and photo eyes,
- 22:00the there was an issue with the line.
- 22:04And the actual technicians who were there at the time called in
- 22:09and said over the radio that they weren't going to fix it
- 22:12right now, that they were on break and everybody would just
- 22:15have to wait. And this is a, you know,
- 22:18manufacturing and distribution facility that they're losing
- 22:22easily a couple $100,000 an hour when these things happen.
- 22:26And for them to just say that, you know, we're on break and a
- 22:30lot of these guys are unioned and everything that we're not
- 22:32coming until we're done with our break and lunch break for these
- 22:36guys to be an hour long in some cases.
- 22:38Well, I just happened to be nearby and saw what happened and
- 22:43I went and fixed it my damn self.
- 22:46And well, I got a call into the office the the next day and I
- 22:51thought that I was going to be getting in some trouble.
- 22:53But the guy told me he's like, look, we saw what happened
- 22:58yesterday. And I was like, what do you
- 22:59mean? I didn't see anybody around.
- 23:01And I was just trying to, you know, figure some stuff out and
- 23:05kind of help out. And he's like, well, yeah, you
- 23:08aren't supposed to be touching any of this stuff like in
- 23:11regards to wrenching on it or anything like that.
- 23:14But you did apply for that job initially and there was nothing
- 23:18available for you. And we we weren't really going
- 23:22to give you anything because you have no background in it.
- 23:24But you proved yourself out there yesterday.
- 23:27We saw it on the camera. We saw you do it over the
- 23:30camera. Could you tell me exactly what
- 23:33you did? And I told him and he's like,
- 23:35well look, we just had a level one tech position open up and
- 23:39we're going to push you into it regardless of what we told you
- 23:42before. You basically like Matt Damon in
- 23:46like, robotics or something. I don't even know that
- 23:50character's name is, you know, from Goodwill Hunting who joins
- 23:54the the department in that university as a as a janitor.
- 23:58Oh, I've heard about that movie, but I've never seen it.
- 24:02Yeah, well, that joke just fell flat, so don't sweat it.
- 24:05Now let me pivot to I want to find out how do you get to the
- 24:12field? What's this journey to the
- 24:14field? Because obviously you're
- 24:15grokking Bitcoin at this point. And, you know, you, you were
- 24:20running feet first. Like there's a bunch of things
- 24:24you kind of have to get your head around, I guess, to, to
- 24:27work on an oil field. And my experience is, is very
- 24:33limited with that as except that, you know, apart from like
- 24:37documentaries or whatever that yeah, that that new show.
- 24:41But yeah, anyway, what's the journey to the field?
- 24:43How are you getting out there? And hooking up ASIC miners, what
- 24:48are those conversations like with those operators?
- 24:50Like we can put data centers next to your oil rigs and we can
- 24:56give you money. Well, that's the short and
- 25:00skinny of it, but the journey to the field started with me
- 25:06actually mining on grid for a couple of months first.
- 25:11And I built a shop on some I had 15 acres in Kentucky and I built
- 25:17out a shop and I, you know, I installed the service panel for
- 25:24it was like I had 500 amp service panel.
- 25:26Nothing big at all, but you could run a whole fleet of S
- 25:29nines on that at that time. And I had actually blew up a
- 25:38transformer from Duke Energy. They had told them that I was
- 25:43installing this higher service panel and that I'd need them to
- 25:47upgrade the transformer down the street in order for me to be
- 25:50able to pull what I needed to pull without causing a
- 25:53disruption to the rest of all the residents in the area.
- 25:56And they said, well, you know, we had engineers put this
- 26:00together. Sir, you are not an engineer.
- 26:03So we're not going to be doing anything until something
- 26:06actually happens. Because they just didn't believe
- 26:09me, I guess, and, or didn't believe that I knew what the
- 26:12hell I was talking about. And so, well, I, I kind of
- 26:16forced their hand by literally putting ASICS on.
- 26:22And so that thing started humming and then eventually just
- 26:25popped like a firecracker. And so Duke Energy comes out,
- 26:30puts in a new transformer, and then about 30 days later, I get
- 26:35the most ridiculous energy bill I had ever seen in my life.
- 26:39And so apparently utilizing this much more energy caused them to
- 26:44put me into a different here in regards to how they were billing
- 26:49me a bill, different billing tier.
- 26:51And I had, there was no conversation with me about that,
- 26:55no warning or anything. And so I, I disputed it and said
- 26:58that, you know, why don't you drop my rates back down to where
- 27:02they were? And they said, no, no, you're
- 27:05going to get this every month. And it's because you're getting
- 27:08demand charges and you consume this much, which puts you into
- 27:12this tier and everything else. And I was just like, you know
- 27:15what, if you don't fucking change it, I'm just going to go
- 27:19somewhere else. And they're like, well,
- 27:21unfortunately for you, we have the monopoly on the Southeast in
- 27:26regards to Tennessee Valley Authority and Duke Energy being
- 27:29the ones that work together to provide power to everybody.
- 27:32There is no other available individuals out there, companies
- 27:37that I could go to for electricity.
- 27:41And so they basically just said that, look, if you don't pay it,
- 27:45we're going to shut you off and you don't have any options,
- 27:48period. And that pissed me off so bad
- 27:52that I told them, well, fuck you, I'm going to go make my own
- 27:55goddamn energy. And that is what pushed me into
- 28:00the field. I started with building a
- 28:03gasification unit that actually ran Bitcoin miners on wood.
- 28:10So I'd take wood and I would prep it and turn it into these
- 28:15little pellets and like wood chips.
- 28:17And then I'd feed that into a reactor on what's called a
- 28:20gasification unit and it would extract or what they call crack
- 28:25and tar. It would pull actual sign gas
- 28:28from the cellulose in the wood and I'd feed that after
- 28:32scrubbing it into a generator and run the generator.
- 28:35And so I built that and I realized that I'd have to be
- 28:39married to this thing basically to keep feeding the hopper and
- 28:42everything and keeping it going. And there wasn't any scaling
- 28:45with it really, because the size of the gasification unit is
- 28:51precisely matched to the size of the generator you're going to
- 28:54have. And the only way to scale it is
- 28:56to build out another whole entire system and or either, you
- 29:00know, make the next system larger.
- 29:02And I didn't want to keep doing that.
- 29:04And again, didn't want to stay married to the damn thing
- 29:07because I had, I didn't want to put in like, even if I can
- 29:11automate it to a certain extent, which I had the background to do
- 29:14that feeding the hopper and prepping the wood to get it in
- 29:18there and everything was just another whole job in itself.
- 29:22And so I kind of fell back on that.
- 29:27I built then a, a, what do you call it, an H2S system or, or
- 29:34not H2S, but it was basically a hydrogen setup that runs with
- 29:39brown gas. And that was a little dicey.
- 29:44There's a lot of opportunity for some issues unless you're
- 29:47running the hydrogen system under a vacuum.
- 29:50So instead of creating an explosion, it will create an
- 29:52implosion. But then some people found out
- 29:54about that and they did not like that I was working on creating
- 29:58hydrogen and, and you know, in my shop in regards to the
- 30:05volumes that I was looking to obtain.
- 30:07And so I started getting some, let's call it threatening
- 30:11inquiries about it. And so that pushed me away from
- 30:15that because I, you know, I, I want the people around me to be
- 30:19safe, not just from like something I may do, but also
- 30:22from the individuals that were kind of coming at me about it.
- 30:26And so that kind of turned me off to that Ave.
- 30:29And then I had ran the numbers on solar and I did not want to
- 30:34fill all the acreage that I owned with the shitty solar
- 30:38panels, so decided not really to go that route.
- 30:42And then wind wasn't really an option for where I was at the
- 30:46moment. And I didn't really feel like
- 30:47traveling too far because I was just getting it, you know, going
- 30:50and together. And so that's when I stumbled
- 30:53upon natural gas. A guy who I was buying ASICS
- 30:58from, I asked him, I said yo, or he told, I asked him for some a
- 31:04six. He told me that if I was looking
- 31:09for energy that he knew a guy down in Southern Kentucky who
- 31:13owned gas wells. And so he said, like, let me ask
- 31:18him if it's OK, I give you his number because maybe you can
- 31:21hook up with him and maybe you can run your generator on on his
- 31:25gas or something. And so I took took that
- 31:28opportunity. I said, look, you know, I don't
- 31:31really allow people to hand out my name and number, but please
- 31:34feel free to have this guy reach out to me.
- 31:36And the guy did, and well, he and I had some conversations
- 31:41about what I wanted to do and he sold me my first gas well.
- 31:46And so I ended up going down to southern Kentucky from up north
- 31:51to tri-state area. I bought a couple of 250
- 31:55kilowatt Waukesha's and we put them on.
- 31:58I learned about the gas wells, I learned about the geology, I
- 32:02learned about all the necessary safety requirements, and I
- 32:06learned about all the things that can go wrong.
- 32:09I went and took some classes and got certificates of completion
- 32:14for H2S training and safety. And there's literally there's a
- 32:20laundry list of oil and gas safety certifications that one
- 32:24should have if they're going to actually do this the right way
- 32:27and not get themselves killed. I went and took in the shoot to
- 32:31get all that stuff done and then basically just started operating
- 32:35my on my own. I had the setup with this one
- 32:38guy and then and when I saw other opportunities, I would
- 32:41approach and there was not really a good way to approach
- 32:45anybody about this back then. When you would tell a producer
- 32:50that you were going to just, you know, mine Bitcoin, they, they,
- 32:55they just kind of laugh at you and brush you off because really
- 32:58they already print their money out of the ground and they don't
- 33:02need any additional help obtaining money because they can
- 33:06even just leverage the oil field as an asset and get more money
- 33:10while they're printing it out of the ground at the same time.
- 33:13And so the, the, the niche there was that I figured out and
- 33:20understood the gas well and oil wells themselves.
- 33:24Like you get oil and gas out of the same hole all the time,
- 33:27right? It's not like this is just gas
- 33:29and this is just oil. Both are in there.
- 33:32And if you can find a way to show or explain to that producer
- 33:38that you can create more oil for them by alleviating that
- 33:42pressure that the gases got on the well, create better flow
- 33:46rates, open that thing up and let it breathe more, they're
- 33:49going to produce more. That is what they need to hear
- 33:53because they understand that already.
- 33:55And if you can, you know, provide them with a way to
- 33:58increase that production. Now instead of looking like a
- 34:01liability on the field, you have just become an asset on the
- 34:05field. And so it was understanding
- 34:09their, you know, what their problem is and presenting myself
- 34:15as a solution to just like their wasted gas or flare.
- 34:21Because if you ask them any of these guys, they have hundreds
- 34:25of flares going. They'll tell you they don't have
- 34:26a flaring problem, which is absurd because you can literally
- 34:30look outside and see it, but they won't own it.
- 34:34They'll just be like, well, we don't have a problem with Larry.
- 34:37But if you tell them that you can eliminate that flair and at
- 34:41the same time increase their production on the oil field.
- 34:44Now you got the rear and so that's pretty much how I ended
- 34:51up rolling into the operating in the oil field.
- 34:55And it's like it is so much more consistent in regards to the
- 35:00energy and production than what I was dealing for in the past
- 35:04that it for me, I was just like in love with it, you know.
- 35:08And so that was it just kept on building out from there.
- 35:13And since then, I've built all over the place from Pennsylvania
- 35:17and Marcellus Shale to MHA Nation Indian Reservation on
- 35:23native land to sovereign land on the in the Bakken, on the Bakken
- 35:27Reserve there, all the way down here now in the Permian Basin
- 35:32and even hit Kansas in between. Yeah.
- 35:36Wow. I mean, the type of sites and
- 35:39the country that you must get to witness and maybe not
- 35:43necessarily like sit and stare for a minute, enjoy it maybe for
- 35:465 minutes. I don't know.
- 35:48It must be just remarkable, like just the you see a place that
- 35:51you haven't seen, you know, most people don't get.
- 35:54Absolutely, absolutely. I actually kind of want to take
- 36:00a gig out in Alaska eventually just so I can say that I've been
- 36:03there and built there and it's absolutely beautiful.
- 36:07But some of these places are extremely inhospitable certain
- 36:12times of the year. Like when I was out on the
- 36:14reservation up in North Dakota, we had that, you know, we get
- 36:19-60 and -70° temperatures and you got to have a whole extra
- 36:25$1000 in personal protective equipment and gear just to be
- 36:29able to go out there. You have a whole separate
- 36:32wardrobe. Just because the temperatures
- 36:34are so low that, you know, 5-6 hours of exposure will kill you.
- 36:39You, you got to work your, your operation in like 1 hour shift
- 36:44so that you don't get frostbite, you know, in and out, in and
- 36:48out. So otherwise you're going to be
- 36:50beat to death by the elements. And so yes, there, there are
- 36:55some amazing places to go, but with the level of amazingness
- 37:00that's there, that same level of this is probably going to kill
- 37:05you if you get stuck out here it is.
- 37:08It's just equally as there. That hostility matched with.
- 37:13Yeah, like the the surrounds, I mean, dude, but don't you worry
- 37:17about, you know, social justice and like how you know?
- 37:24What is that? You know what I mean?
- 37:25Like, like those things that we're all supposed to be
- 37:28worrying about climate change, stuff like that.
- 37:30Like do do you, like while you're out there and you've got,
- 37:34you know, $1000 worth of protective equipment on and you
- 37:37can only do an hour outside before you need to come back in,
- 37:40so you're going to die and get frostbite?
- 37:44Did did these things run through your mind when you're, you know,
- 37:47all the shit that we get fed on Twitter and stuff?
- 37:48And like, do do you ever, like, just freak out about like, how
- 37:53you're contributing to the apparent downfall of like,
- 37:57civilization? Nope, because if anybody
- 38:02actually cares to educate themselves, they will come to
- 38:06understand that what I do is extremely environmentally
- 38:11friendly. Good, you don't need.
- 38:17To, I mean methane. To be honest.
- 38:20I mean, yeah, I'll just say that methane destroys everything it
- 38:24comes in contact with and is literally probably 80% if not
- 38:30more harmful in regards to being a greenhouse gas and its heating
- 38:34effects on the world then CO2 is.
- 38:37And once I pipe that methane into a generator comes out of
- 38:41CO2 and well, at least trees can use that to make oxygen for me
- 38:44and you. Whereas the methane ain't
- 38:47nothing that any anything can do with that except for dye.
- 38:50The other like 1-1 other caveat there is that nothing in regards
- 38:57to an off grid Bitcoin mining operation is wasteful.
- 39:01So I take old computer ASICS, old ASIC equipment that isn't
- 39:07profitable on grid anymore and I repurpose it into the oil field
- 39:10and give it a new life. Same with generators.
- 39:13Generators that are coming from like a hospital or something.
- 39:16That's policy is every so many years they have to get a new one
- 39:20in there. Doesn't even mean there's
- 39:21anything wrong with it. Just like the ASICS that were
- 39:24coming off the grid just because they're not not profitable
- 39:26anymore. These things could go turn into
- 39:28E trash and just be, you know, sitting somewhere wasted.
- 39:32This generator could end up in a yard somewhere and end up, you
- 39:36know, leaking fluids and stuff everywhere.
- 39:38And I take all that stuff and I repurpose it into the oil field
- 39:43and then it, you know, extends its life for, you know, for as
- 39:48long as it can be. And so not only are we reusing
- 39:53and recycling just computer equipment and chips and Gen.
- 39:58sets and things like that. But we're also reducing methane,
- 40:03you know, fugitive methane emissions and getting rid of
- 40:05flares and stuff like that. So anybody really wants to go
- 40:09toe to toe with me for that? I'll send them home in a body
- 40:12bag. I am sweating it quick.
- 40:14Break just to say, if you're enjoying the show and digging

- 40:43sats or zaps of sats in support of the show to Discovering
- 40:48Bitcoin at primal.net. Thank you for listening and
- 40:52thank you for your support. How has discovering Bitcoin
- 40:57changed you? It's turned me into a definitely
- 41:04a more low time preference individual and when it comes to
- 41:08building man has it turned me into one stoic son of a bitch.
- 41:14Because constantly I'm in the field running into problems and
- 41:19there's no other like options at times in regards to a fix.
- 41:25And like one of the great stoics of the past said, you have to
- 41:30understand that the obstacle is the way and that's it.
- 41:35And if you aren't able to or willing to step up to it and
- 41:39succumb, you know, and you succumb to the obstacle, you're,
- 41:43you're dead in the water. So you have to be willing to
- 41:46surmount this thing and, and take it on fully and harden
- 41:50yourself. You know, it's like a daily
- 41:52battle against yourself and everything else out there to
- 41:56confront and overcome these things and just keep moving
- 41:59forward at all costs. So this low time preference that
- 42:04you've cultivated, do you think you had that impulse in you
- 42:07prior and is it just kind of you've been able to tap into it
- 42:12a little bit more or has it been a 180 sort of situation?
- 42:17Well, because I have always been interested in taking care of
- 42:22myself in regards to physical fitness and mental well-being
- 42:26and everything else. You know, I had certain
- 42:29understandings about, you know, living a low time preference
- 42:33type of life, but I hadn't really applied that to myself
- 42:39from a financial perspective, right?
- 42:41And well, Bitcoin is a financial instrument that it's like
- 42:48discovering fire, you know, And so having it like another
- 42:54perspective on what is money and financial instruments in
- 43:00general, it lowered my time preference in that respect as
- 43:05well. And then getting into the off
- 43:10grid mining, you know, where everything is reused to
- 43:13repurpose and fix and move forward.
- 43:17It just started bleeding into every other aspect of my life.
- 43:21I feel like whenever like, and I've had multiple conversations,
- 43:27many conversations, you know, on this part, of course, about
- 43:30Bitcoin is interacting with this thing and it tends to sort of
- 43:35refine them. Like it it's like it's like it
- 43:38focuses, you know, we've got the laser.
- 43:41I mean, but it kind of takes their existing personality and
- 43:48kind of like a blade. It just sharpens it, you know,
- 43:51and it and it just makes it that much more precise and refined
- 43:56and sharper and focused. And I would.
- 43:58Concur with that. Yeah.
- 44:00I, I think it also tends to amplify it too, because from
- 44:07what I've noticed, if somebody is willing to embrace that, you
- 44:12know, low time preference style that comes with it and sharpen
- 44:18themselves, they become more confident in their moves that
- 44:22they make in life and the other things they do.
- 44:25And I would say that they, you know, a lot of individuals
- 44:31would, in becoming more confident about what they're
- 44:35doing, become more bold in regards to the decisions that
- 44:39they might make and why they make them because they have a
- 44:42better understanding of, you know, what they're doing and why
- 44:45they're doing it instead of, you know, just running around like a
- 44:49Fiat chicken with the head cut off.
- 44:54Yeah, well, that's it. Like when you've got a ground of
- 44:56truth that you can stand on and operate off, it takes time.
- 45:01Like you can't do it straight away, but.
- 45:03Word. You can.
- 45:05Everything else becomes noise A. 100% exactly and.
- 45:10Then the, the solid stuff in you, you're not afraid to, you
- 45:15know, outwardly express it and push it because you know, you're
- 45:18operating from a place of truth. And and with that, you know,
- 45:22people, I find they, you know it, it amplifies who they are
- 45:27kind of. Yeah, I've, I've said this on
- 45:29the pod before. It's like a, a, a neutral
- 45:35amplifier of of effect, I think, and that's not mine.
- 45:39That's that's actually source node from the the Holotropic
- 45:45Renaissance pod. But this notion about circling
- 45:49around a common element of truth.
- 45:52And once we do that, you know, we can stand on that.
- 45:54That's when the freedom to be an individual, to flourish can
- 45:59actually occur, you know, and you can go out and do the things
- 46:03that you need to do that you want to do without, you know,
- 46:06necessarily having like being coerced to do it.
- 46:11You know, you can you get greater coherence and scale is
- 46:14kind of the point. And, and your story is an
- 46:17example of how as an individual doing these things, which are
- 46:23ultimately contributing to me being able to sit here and do
- 46:27these things that I'm doing, like hosting the pod or
- 46:29whatever. And all these other people, even
- 46:31these dip shits like Larry Fink, You're, he's kind of helping you
- 46:36and you're helping him. But it and, and we could be
- 46:39necessarily be enemies and, and not, you know, one, but we,
- 46:44we're forced to cohere around this one thing and it all gets
- 46:47put into a block at the end, at the end of that 10 minute mark.
- 46:51And we're all doing it voluntarily.
- 46:55You know, all the honesty, the fairness, the trustworthiness,
- 47:00it gets filtered through that even if you're being a deceptive
- 47:02little shit and trying to manipulate the price and the
- 47:05market, you can only do that for so long.
- 47:09And then you'll get found out and there'll be a lot of
- 47:11collateral damage along the way, as we've seen in the past with
- 47:14FTX and Celsius and all that. But notionally, you, you all
- 47:19have to pass through this orange filter if you want to
- 47:22participate. And you can participate in
- 47:25whichever way you want, whichever way you're good at.
- 47:28And we're talking right now. You and I's roles are completely
- 47:33desperate. We're interested in this thing,
- 47:35this Bitcoin thing. You're contributing it to ways
- 47:38that I like, admire and could not even fucking fathom, to be
- 47:42perfectly honest. And yeah.
- 47:45Well, thank you for your kind words, Sir.
- 47:46Pulling in the same direction. And it's it's kind of kind of
- 47:50nuts when you think about it. We can.
- 47:52We can just scale that civilizationally.
- 47:56I hope that it happens sooner than later.
- 48:00Well, you're going to have to lower your time preference on
- 48:02that. I think I, I've my expectations
- 48:06are like 2025 the way that that's played out and not
- 48:09necessarily in regards to price action, but just like it's, it's
- 48:13wild that, you know, there's, there's people around me that
- 48:17still haven't quite figured it out and they're like, so you're
- 48:20still into that Bitcoin thing. Yep, you're still going out to
- 48:23the field and like getting all oily and greasy and dirty and
- 48:27such to, to tinker with those those computers you got going
- 48:30on. Is that you still doing that?
- 48:32Is that a good? You know what?
- 48:33What's that like? I've actually had somebody say
- 48:36that to me before. You know what I tell them?
- 48:38Being the most sovereign son of a bitch you ever met in your
- 48:42life is something I am still doing.
- 48:46They they can't. That's like what?
- 48:48That's, that's like way, way outside their wheelhouse.
- 48:53And I'm talking they, they, that's the hamster on the wheel.
- 48:56They, you know, that's safe. That's safe.
- 48:58I mean, know where you're at. Like you.
- 49:01You run in your own networks. You're working by satellite, you
- 49:06create your own electricity, literally.
- 49:09And now you have, you know, fuck you money that can't be fucked
- 49:14with. It's like 100% something that
- 49:18most people just, they have a hard time comprehending because
- 49:22like they see the light switch, they turned it on and then the
- 49:25light goes on. They have no understanding of
- 49:28where that comes from, how it gets to them.
- 49:30They just know that that's electricity.
- 49:33That's a light switch. I turned that on.
- 49:35I get electricity like and then with their money, they don't
- 49:38have any clue how it works. They just know that they go to
- 49:43the store and there's a person that's willing to accept this
- 49:45paper in exchange for the goods or service.
- 49:48Where it came from, how it became and how the mechanisms of
- 49:53action on the back end work. Totally, totally oblivious.
- 49:58And it's just like the ignorance is their bliss, you know?
- 50:03Because if they really understood, they would be
- 50:06kicking the door down for guys like yourself and me to figure
- 50:10out what we're doing, how we figured this out, and trying to
- 50:14get on that level. Because they would realize that
- 50:19there actually is quite a bit to be fearful of in regards to what
- 50:24is happening in the direction that things are going in, you
- 50:29know? Well, yes, but as you've got in
- 50:33that you retweeted this meme recently of Dennis Nedry from
- 50:40Jurassic Park. He's sitting there with that
- 50:42dude in the opening scene. You know, Dodson, we've got.
- 50:45Dodson cares. See, nobody cares.
- 50:49Hello. Hey, everyone, We're losing our
- 50:52freedom to and slipping into tyranny.
- 50:55You know, in that Hawaiian show. Nobody.
- 50:57Cares. Nobody cares and it's like.
- 51:00It's so real, it's sad. It's it's, it's tragic,
- 51:04actually, but. Here's the thing, like I said,
- 51:06as long as they can flip the switch and the light turns on or
- 51:10the guy at the store or wherever they're going will take their
- 51:14shitty worthless piece of paper and it works for them, then they
- 51:18don't care about anything else. They're so like stuck in their
- 51:23own world trying to, you know, I would say in some cases just
- 51:28survive the and, you know, they're they don't, they don't
- 51:32see beyond, you know, the end of their nose.
- 51:36And the system, in my opinion, is designed like that.
- 51:39They keep people making just enough money to get by so that
- 51:44they have to continue working. But they can have these little
- 51:47conveniences and comforts. They can afford them, but
- 51:50they'll never get enough to actually break away from it.
- 51:54So then they'll have time to actually, you know, kind of pull
- 51:58back the curtain and see what the hell, take time to see what
- 52:01the hell is going on. Everybody's like on this fucking
- 52:05perpetual hamster wheel just trying to make ends meet.
- 52:09And I think really that's by design, you know?
- 52:12Well then, to that effect, what do you wish more people knew
- 52:18about Bitcoin? That if they price everything in
- 52:26Bitcoin, that it becomes cheaper.
- 52:30So when I talk to a an individual who's I guess who's
- 52:37called boomers and when I talk to people like that and I tell
- 52:42them, look, let's look at how many bitcoins it would have
- 52:45taken to purchase your house in 2015.
- 52:50And now let's look at that same house and look at how many
- 52:53bitcoins it takes to buy it today.
- 52:55And they see that it was, let's say 1000 bitcoins and, you know,
- 53:00just for an example example in in 2015, but then today that
- 53:03same house they can buy with two or three Bitcoin.
- 53:08Then they they start to get curious.
- 53:11So why is that? What is that all about?
- 53:15Where, where does the mechanism of action that makes that a
- 53:20thing come from? And, and everything and, and
- 53:23that I, you know, because for, you know, to protect your
- 53:28purchasing power through time and space against inflation is
- 53:32something that the entire world is struggling with right now.
- 53:37And I think that if more people understood that with this
- 53:42particular tool, I, I view Bitcoin as a tool, not just
- 53:45money, and if they understood how to use the tool, they would.
- 53:51And that would, it protects them that there would be a lot more
- 53:55interest. I feel like I.
- 53:59Think so, but it's that hurdle of.
- 54:03Well, let me let me real quick stop you there in regards to the
- 54:07hurdle. The hurdle in my opinion, is
- 54:12having to admit that you don't know shit and that you have
- 54:17swallowed the entire lie hook, line and sinker for so long.
- 54:22And you have to literally got to admit that you're wrong.
- 54:25You don't know anything about what you're talking about.
- 54:28And that is so extremely difficult for people, it's not
- 54:32even funny. Yeah, it's ego.
- 54:35It's huge amounts of ego just in the way Paul over that pine.
- 54:40Yo, that's real. Bitcoin is a Wrecking Ball for
- 54:44people's egos. It really is, and which makes me
- 54:48think, you know, is, is Uncle Larry?
- 54:52Has he got less eager than we thought?
- 54:57Well, I don't know. I imagine, I imagine that Uncle
- 55:02Scary Larry probably has at least enough smarter people than
- 55:10him around him, telling him and advising him that even if his
- 55:15ego was in the way, I'm sure that he probably started
- 55:19stacking some corn before BlackRock actually came and
- 55:22started doing it themselves. You know, as an institution.
- 55:25Yeah, I mean, Trump's got a huge.
- 55:28Issue. But he, I think, I think money
- 55:31and money can kind of like this. The promise, I guess if you have
- 55:34enough capital to allocate like like an excess amount of
- 55:38capital, you could be like, yeah, all right, Like, you know,
- 55:42a couple of percent in Bitcoin sounds fine.
- 55:44Great, cool, no worries, onwards to the next thing.
- 55:47And maybe it doesn't even touch you at that point.
- 55:49Maybe there's like a like a level of, of, of money that you
- 55:56have where ego doesn't even come.
- 55:59Well, that's, that's a good point that you're making right
- 56:03there actually, because I have, I've had individuals tell me
- 56:08that they don't understand it enough and they so they, they're
- 56:13limited on their finance and what they're able to do.
- 56:16And because they're already living check to check and
- 56:20sometimes I'm pure credit only they are terrified to go into
- 56:25something, an asset like Bitcoin because they have no
- 56:29understanding about it. And they're afraid to, to get
- 56:33rubbed and their inability to humble themselves and say that,
- 56:38well, I don't know what the hell I'm talking about and go educate
- 56:42themselves on it, You know, keeps them in that fear factor
- 56:46form to where they, they even the little bit that they are
- 56:50able to scrimp and scrounge and save.
- 56:53They just, they won't put it into Bitcoin because they're,
- 56:57you know, they're afraid of not being able to make those ends
- 57:01meet, feed themselves, pay their mortgage or whatever.
- 57:04And it's, you know, like it's a fear based thing.
- 57:08You know, they're, they're already living in fear and they
- 57:12don't want to actually put themselves in the position to to
- 57:17have those fears realized. Like they in their mind, they're
- 57:22certain that this can happen because of everything that they
- 57:25think they know about it. And but, you know, if they were
- 57:29willing to just kind of sit down and shut the fuck up and read
- 57:35instead of just parroting every little stupid thing that they
- 57:39hear thinking that, oh, I heard this on the Internet, it must be
- 57:42true. Well, you know, they'd be in a
- 57:45much better position mentally to take those financial what what
- 57:50they would consider financial risk.
- 57:52Whereas I look at Bitcoin as a financial surety, you know what
- 57:56I mean? Yeah.
- 57:57It's, it's, I guess it's, it's about perception at that point
- 58:00and. Correct.
- 58:02Like I have a thing that I like to say that if you if some, if
- 58:10you don't like the way something looks or the perspective, change
- 58:14your vantage point. And the only way to do that in
- 58:18some cases is to just, you know, stop and reassess what you think
- 58:24you know, because a lot of people, they know too much, you
- 58:28know too much for their own good.
- 58:30And it keeps them stifled and not in and doesn't allow them to
- 58:35get into a position of growth when it comes to knowledge on,
- 58:39you know, a lot of different things.
- 58:42Yeah, this. There's more than one way to
- 58:44collapse a wave, if you know what I'm saying.
- 58:48You can, you can be the observer.
- 58:50And if you don't don't like what you see, reset and and collapse
- 58:55it a different way. You know, it's what is it that
- 58:58that fear thing, face everything and I forget everything and run
- 59:03or face everything and rise. It's kind of that Zig Ziglar
- 59:06quote. I think you're getting that
- 59:08right. But I mean, yeah, people, people
- 59:10have a lot of baggage and biases that they need to overcome.
- 59:15And I guess when they're encountering Bitcoin for the
- 59:19first time, it depends very much so on their current state of
- 59:24being and how that information will actually like filter
- 59:28through into their mind and whether it will elicit a, the
- 59:33particular fear response, whether it's forget everything,
- 59:35run or you know, phase everything and rise.
- 59:39So this is in human nature. There's interest.
- 59:43Interesting thing. Yeah, I was just going to say
- 59:47most of the world is stuck in a position of running currently,
- 59:51you know, and like they think that the direction to run in is
- 59:56towards more money when in reality it's not.
- 1:00:01More money is changing the type of money is what they need to
- 1:00:06understand. You don't need to be running
- 1:00:08towards more money. You need to be running towards
- 1:00:10the right money. Yeah, I saw a meme the other
- 1:00:15day, kind of love memes. Was that from Inception with
- 1:00:19Leo? And it's, you know, they're at a
- 1:00:21bar. And the first caption is like,
- 1:00:24gold is better money. And then he's like, Oh yeah,
- 1:00:27send me some. Yes, yeah, I've seen that too
- 1:00:32recently. The.
- 1:00:34Chase, it's so good. Like this is, Yep, this is,
- 1:00:37yeah, I don't know. I wish I was smart enough to
- 1:00:40come up with that stuff while I was at like a family dinner or
- 1:00:42something and having that conversation with that
- 1:00:45begrudging uncle. I'm actually, I'm actually not
- 1:00:48allowed to talk in family dinner or something.
- 1:00:51Just just kidding. Make.
- 1:00:53It easy for you but keep stuff. When I do get to those little
- 1:00:59gatherings, it's more or less like my stepfather or, you know,
- 1:01:05saying, hey, you know, why don't you take it easy this year like
- 1:01:09this or that. And I'm like, what are you
- 1:01:11talking about? He's like, well, you say stuff
- 1:01:13and it's just like, wow, what? Like I can't help it, man.
- 1:01:20It's like I see things, I am observing things and if you
- 1:01:24don't think I'm going to report to you all the truth on things,
- 1:01:27then well, you know, what do you want me to do?
- 1:01:29Sit down with you all and just fucking spoofy hot fucking lies
- 1:01:32all day to you. The same shit you're hearing on
- 1:01:34the news. It's just literal propaganda.
- 1:01:37Like I don't roll like that. And if if you don't want fucking
- 1:01:40the truth, don't invite me. Well, it's not even that.
- 1:01:43It's more about why aren't you even open to the discussion?
- 1:01:46Like, can we just like, unpack this a little bit?
- 1:01:49Like, do we have somewhere to go?
- 1:01:51Well, see, remember what I told you about that?
- 1:01:54That would require people to admit that they are wrong, that
- 1:01:59they don't know what they're talking about.
- 1:02:00And man, that is hard for so many people.
- 1:02:04They have to admit that they were lied to about everything.
- 1:02:08And that dude, that makes so many people uncomfortable.
- 1:02:12It's tough. It's tough mountain to move.
- 1:02:16Like I'm over here trying to move this mountain with a
- 1:02:19fucking plastic spoon. It feels.
- 1:02:20It was like sometimes. We need to.
- 1:02:23We need to have that evolution of consciousness ASAP.
- 1:02:27We need to we need to have some kind of punctuated equilibrium.
- 1:02:32Awakening. Awakening, yeah.
- 1:02:35I got to ask this before I pivot to my last question.
- 1:02:38You mentioned Kentucky a few times.
- 1:02:40Now. I don't know a heck of a lot
- 1:02:42about Kentucky other than that Sturgill Simpson, the greatest
- 1:02:47country music artist of the modern age, is from Kentucky.
- 1:02:51I just got to ask, are you? Are you friends with Sturgill?
- 1:02:55Nope, don't even know who that is.
- 1:02:56Cool OK moving on. Would recommend listening to
- 1:03:00High Top Mountain if anyone's out there and meta modern sounds
- 1:03:03and country music two of the greatest.
- 1:03:05I do you one I I like. I like to be an open minded man.
- 1:03:11So if you send me a link, I'll I'll in the DM I'll check him
- 1:03:15out. But I like I'm, I don't really
- 1:03:18listen to country music too much because it's very twangy and
- 1:03:22like it seems like it's now instead of like old school Alan
- 1:03:27Jackson stuff. Now it's just like pop trash
- 1:03:31that's been given a twang. Oh.
- 1:03:34It's terrible and I'm just. Terrible.
- 1:03:35What the hell is this? Yeah, I mean, look, the the,
- 1:03:39the, the there are limits and and it's been fucked, you know,
- 1:03:44in the last, certainly the last 10 years.
- 1:03:49There's a few people still holding the torch.
- 1:03:50But yeah, anyway, I reckon Sturgill, I'll check in the show
- 1:03:54notes and I'll and I'll and I'll shoot you DM.
- 1:03:57Let's bring this in the land. What does Bitcoin mean to you?
- 1:04:04Freedom, sovereignty, truth, and some might even say power.
- 1:04:11But I would say the ability to choose.
- 1:04:14And that gives you, you know, your own power in a sense,
- 1:04:19right? Yeah, well, power can be
- 1:04:23misconstrued in many, many different ways, but correct is
- 1:04:27power not just the capacity to do work.
- 1:04:31Agreed. And, and, and I would say that
- 1:04:34it's not how much you have, it's what you do with what you have
- 1:04:40that is the most important thing.
- 1:04:42That sounds like a whole other podcast.
- 1:04:45Oh man, I've been told. I, I've been told some things
- 1:04:49about some things I've said in the past.
- 1:04:51So we maybe do that. Hold tarantula, man, we got
- 1:04:57there and I got to say it's it's been a cracking RIP.
- 1:05:01This is going to be the final RIP of 2025.
- 1:05:05We're going to have a quick break holidays, but.
- 1:05:09I'm blessed to close out the year with you.
- 1:05:11Exactly. I want to say Merry Christmas
- 1:05:13and thank you so much man for jumping on.
- 1:05:16I don't like timing these things.
- 1:05:17I've just completely blown that out of the water.
- 1:05:20But hey, what are we going to do?
- 1:05:21I. Respect that.
- 1:05:23I respect that. I just wanted to.
- 1:05:24Say, put a timeline on truth, baby.
- 1:05:28It just comes. Thank you for spending some
- 1:05:31scarce time and finite energy telling us the tale of how you
- 1:05:34discovered Bitcoin. It was my pleasure and sorry
- 1:05:38that we had to reschedule. Literally like freaking, I don't
- 1:05:42know, 4-5 times, 6 times. But you know how it goes when
- 1:05:47you're building.
