- 0:00Speaker 1: I'm here to help. Look who's here. It's Jonathan Deezey
- 0:05Speaker 1: JD himself. He's here to talk about things that we
- 0:09Speaker 1: can mess around with on the internet and games and
- 0:11Speaker 1: all of that kind of stuff. Mister d zing is
- 0:14Speaker 1: a podcast host. When he's not doing this, he's a
- 0:18Speaker 1: so a host. Will be three three Bit Gamer show yep,
- 0:23Speaker 1: every Tuesday. Yes, it comes out podcasts, so be aware
- 0:27Speaker 1: of that. And if you need a cookie, he's the
- 0:30Speaker 1: man to see. If you know, I'm a cookie evangelist.
- 0:33Speaker 2: That's right. So what do you got for u? S JJ?
- 0:35Speaker 2: I actually have some games this month.
- 0:37Speaker 3: Last month I didn't bring any because there wasn't a
- 0:39Speaker 3: name on the market, and so I've got two that
- 0:42Speaker 3: are well, one big one and one kind of fun one.
- 0:45Speaker 3: The first one Disney Afternoon Collection. This is out February
- 0:49Speaker 3: twenty sixth on a Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch too.
- 0:53Speaker 3: It actually did this game did come out in like
- 0:56Speaker 3: twenty seventeen on a couple of consoles.
- 0:58Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 0:59Speaker 3: It's basically a remastered collection of a bunch of nineties
- 1:02Speaker 3: any s game and one from eighty nine.
- 1:04Speaker 2: I guess.
- 1:05Speaker 4: So this is nostalgia games.
- 1:07Speaker 3: Absolutely, these are old Disney TV show games So Bonkers,
- 1:11Speaker 3: goof Troop, Ducktails one and two, Chippendale Rescue Rangers, Tailspin,
- 1:15Speaker 3: Dark Wing Duck. If you had, you know, the Disney
- 1:18Speaker 3: Channel in the nineties or two thousands, you recognize these
- 1:21Speaker 3: titles and they made any s games. Most of them
- 1:23Speaker 3: are kind of side scrolling. They're very pixley, obviously because
- 1:26Speaker 3: it's the Nintendo, the original Nintendo.
- 1:29Speaker 4: That's gonna say, and you get six games.
- 1:31Speaker 3: Yeah, and so this is I would say, don't get
- 1:36Speaker 3: this just for your kids.
- 1:38Speaker 2: It's gonna feel you know, it's pretty dated, but it's
- 1:41Speaker 2: nostalgic for.
- 1:42Speaker 3: Gross step and so this is a great one for
- 1:44Speaker 3: grown ups to share with their kids and be like,
- 1:46Speaker 3: this is these are the games I grew up on.
- 1:49Speaker 3: Pretty awesome. Just like I said, it's a nostalgia play.
- 1:53Speaker 3: Next up, we've got one called Resident Evil Requiem that's
- 1:57Speaker 3: out on February twenty seventh. Is the latest in the
- 2:00Speaker 3: Resident Evil series, which is a zombie series you guys
- 2:04Speaker 3: may remember and there it's it's survival horror.
- 2:08Speaker 2: A lot of these, a couple of.
- 2:09Speaker 3: The more recent ones of trended more towards like you
- 2:12Speaker 3: are kind of an action hero, like you're pretty capable
- 2:15Speaker 3: with a gun. Yeah, and no, And I think the
- 2:19Speaker 3: originals were a little bit more running away from a
- 2:21Speaker 3: terrifying zombie monster that's gonna murder you and you really
- 2:24Speaker 3: don't have the skills or the weapons to deal with it,
- 2:28Speaker 3: and this one takes that back there. You're going to
- 2:31Speaker 3: play as either Leon Kennedy, who was from Resident Evil
- 2:34Speaker 3: for one of more of the the action adventury kind
- 2:37Speaker 3: of games, not you know, it's still kind of survival horror.
- 2:40Speaker 3: He's been aged up because that one came out in
- 2:42Speaker 3: like two thousand and four or something.
- 2:44Speaker 2: Oh yeah, and in Japan he's being called hot uncle.
- 2:46Speaker 3: Well, yeah, they're pretty the new Leon Kennedy's he's he's
- 2:50Speaker 3: aged up, looking hot, all right. And then another new
- 2:54Speaker 3: new character is the daughter of another character from a
- 2:57Speaker 3: previous game, and she's dead and this kind of.
- 3:00Speaker 2: Like split between their two.
- 3:03Speaker 3: Their their two stories, and her story is much more
- 3:06Speaker 3: based on this looks like it's more her.
- 3:09Speaker 4: Yeah, I think I'd rather play as her.
- 3:10Speaker 2: Yeah, you're running away from the zombie.
- 3:12Speaker 3: You're hiding from the zombies, which is, you know, generally
- 3:15Speaker 3: kind of how these games have been because they're trying
- 3:17Speaker 3: to scare you, and it's not scary if you're if
- 3:19Speaker 3: you're killing all the monsters with ease, it's oh man.
- 3:23Speaker 3: So it's out on Switch, to PlayStation, PC, and Xbox
- 3:26Speaker 3: on February twenty seventh. And yeah, it's gonna be scary.
- 3:30Speaker 3: It looks amazing. I mean Resident Evil games that tend
- 3:33Speaker 3: to be really, really good. The last couple have been awesome.
- 3:36Speaker 3: This one really looks like something special. There was a
- 3:40Speaker 3: live action trailer of it that put brought a tear.
- 3:42Speaker 2: Into my eye. It was so it was so sad.
- 3:47Speaker 3: So yeah, I think they're putting some good effort into
- 3:49Speaker 3: this one. So check that one out. Resident Evil Requiem
- 3:52Speaker 3: out at the end of this month.
- 3:53Speaker 4: All right, there we go.
- 3:54Speaker 3: Hey, next, now for the now for the games that
- 3:57Speaker 3: you can access right now. First up, Peer is Seeking Blue.
- 4:03Speaker 3: This is I found this this week and was so
- 4:07Speaker 3: psyched I spent way more time than I should have
- 4:09Speaker 3: had it on it.
- 4:10Speaker 2: You can look.
- 4:11Speaker 3: It's basically Wikipedia articles that are organized are like geolocated
- 4:16Speaker 3: on a globe.
- 4:17Speaker 2: If you ever use like Google Earth, so you.
- 4:19Speaker 4: Can go right to the actual place, right.
- 4:22Speaker 2: Yeah, okay, Yeah, So if there's like ancient battles.
- 4:26Speaker 3: You just zoom in on where that battle happened, and
- 4:29Speaker 3: there's the Wikipedia article you can just click on it.
- 4:31Speaker 3: So it's kind of cool to just browse. So I
- 4:33Speaker 3: was looking in my neighborhood and like the ones that
- 4:36Speaker 3: were around me that that that had existed, and there
- 4:39Speaker 3: were just a handful. But you go to Europe and
- 4:41Speaker 3: you look at these islands in the Mediterranean and they're
- 4:43Speaker 3: just covered in battles and different yeah facts, and it's
- 4:48Speaker 3: just cool. If you're someone like me who spends way
- 4:50Speaker 3: too much time on Wikipedia and donates to Wikipedia and
- 4:53Speaker 3: has the Wikipedia Act.
- 4:55Speaker 4: You're the guy that donates.
- 4:56Speaker 2: Somebody's got to do it.
- 4:57Speaker 1: I did too, I a little bit because I used
- 5:01Speaker 1: it every damn That's what I was thinking.
- 5:04Speaker 3: I use it so much. I was like, I have to.
- 5:06Speaker 3: I use it more than any other website. And so
- 5:08Speaker 3: this is a really cool, kind of different way to
- 5:10Speaker 3: look at it. Via the globe where these things are located.
- 5:13Speaker 3: That's seeking blue dot org.
- 5:15Speaker 2: That's really cool.
- 5:16Speaker 5: Yeah, this is a good time was that's definitely and
- 5:19Speaker 5: you might learn something tricking.
- 5:22Speaker 3: It's addictive, especially if you're something that likes to just
- 5:24Speaker 3: like browse maps and stuff, and it's kind of fun
- 5:27Speaker 3: to look at it that way. This next one is
- 5:30Speaker 3: me helping you do your civic duty and report ICE
- 5:33Speaker 3: agents out in the wild. It's called ice out dot
- 5:38Speaker 3: org and it is a map where people can submit
- 5:41Speaker 3: potential possible ICE activity, including videos, which is.
- 5:45Speaker 2: Kind of helpful.
- 5:45Speaker 3: So it's not just you know, trolls saying oh, there's
- 5:48Speaker 3: guys here, there's guys there. And all the reports are
- 5:51Speaker 3: actually reviewed by human moderators, so again this isn't going
- 5:54Speaker 3: to be kind of taken over by bots or trolls.
- 5:55Speaker 3: And finally, all of the reports are the whole map
- 5:59Speaker 3: is refree rushed every day, so you're not going to
- 6:01Speaker 3: be like pulling it up and looking at old stuff.
- 6:03Speaker 2: It is very recent.
- 6:05Speaker 3: The reports are sorted by severity, so if there are
- 6:08Speaker 3: raids and arrests all the way to ICE agents just
- 6:12Speaker 3: sitting eating lunch.
- 6:13Speaker 2: So you know which Donald's to avoid.
- 6:16Speaker 4: I'm just looking at Minneapolis and then it is covered.
- 6:19Speaker 3: Yeah, there was a one in Salt Lake yesterday that
- 6:21Speaker 3: was out I think like West Valley or something, had
- 6:23Speaker 3: a video and you know it tag it was tagged
- 6:26Speaker 3: local PD assisting ice stuff like that. If you are
- 6:31Speaker 3: like so many of us, and you feel helpless and
- 6:34Speaker 3: what can I do?
- 6:35Speaker 2: Yeah? This is something something, this is something.
- 6:37Speaker 1: Okay, so if you look at Utah for the time being,
- 6:42Speaker 1: we seem to be ice free.
- 6:43Speaker 2: Yes, yeah, yesterday, like I said, there was one. We're
- 6:46Speaker 2: a little low.
- 6:46Speaker 3: But that's just the thing is if this, if these
- 6:49Speaker 3: efforts move out of Minneapolis to somewhere else, especially you know,
- 6:53Speaker 3: so if you're if you're listening to this from outside
- 6:55Speaker 3: of Salt Lake and there's somewhere where there is a focus,
- 6:57Speaker 3: this is something you can do and you can try
- 7:00Speaker 3: to feel less helpless.
- 7:02Speaker 2: All right, what do we got next?
- 7:04Speaker 3: This is called split the difference and nope, split the distance,
- 7:09Speaker 3: Split the distance dot com.
- 7:11Speaker 2: And this is so cool.
- 7:13Speaker 3: If you I don't know this, I thought there was
- 7:15Speaker 3: a lot of uses for it. It's basically allowing you
- 7:17Speaker 3: to enter two locations like you might on Google Maps,
- 7:20Speaker 3: but instead of telling you how to get from point
- 7:21Speaker 3: A to point B, it tells you how to get
- 7:22Speaker 3: to point C, which is the closest.
- 7:24Speaker 2: Point between you two.
- 7:26Speaker 3: And I tried this meet yeah okay, yeah, so I
- 7:30Speaker 3: tried this between two big cities. Yes, so it's cool,
- 7:34Speaker 3: Like I looked between like my buddy in San Francisco
- 7:36Speaker 3: in my place, and it was some random town in Nevada.
- 7:39Speaker 3: But so I was like, this is right in between us,
- 7:42Speaker 3: so that's kind of fun. But also I looked at
- 7:44Speaker 3: it within this within just the valley here. So if
- 7:47Speaker 3: you look like from Saratoga Springs to like West Point
- 7:49Speaker 3: or something, and then it tells you the midpoint, and
- 7:52Speaker 3: then you can sort to see like, oh, what coffee
- 7:54Speaker 3: shops are nearby, what restaurants are nearby that midpoint?
- 7:57Speaker 2: You can sort it by walking or drive or biking.
- 8:02Speaker 5: Even it's it's like I entered fifty West Broadway and Disneyland.
- 8:11Speaker 5: So if you were to drive down with someone, sure
- 8:14Speaker 5: the halfway point where you would split and and change
- 8:17Speaker 5: drivers is Bunkerville.
- 8:19Speaker 3: Okay, that's another that's a novel way. I hadn't thought
- 8:23Speaker 3: of using it as well. So yeah, there's like the
- 8:25Speaker 3: actual halfway point, Like, yeah.
- 8:27Speaker 2: What if you were going to walk that distance carry
- 8:29Speaker 2: what man hundreds of hours be the.
- 8:33Speaker 5: Same place, but but it would be Yeah, it's still Bunkerville.
- 8:37Speaker 2: But that's kind of fun.
- 8:39Speaker 4: Three days, He'll carry me to Bunkerville.
- 8:42Speaker 3: I kept thinking, especially like if you worked and you
- 8:45Speaker 3: worked in downtown, say you were like an attorney or something,
- 8:47Speaker 3: and we're constantly meeting clients or something like that.
- 8:49Speaker 2: This might actually be kind of cool. What's our halfway point?
- 8:52Speaker 3: Find a halfway point and then just be you know,
- 8:54Speaker 3: extra considerate. That's split the distance dot com. Well, look
- 8:57Speaker 3: I'm doing it, and you know, it's always a bar.
- 8:59Speaker 2: I don't know why. That's so weird. That's always a bar.
- 9:03Speaker 2: Lucky me.
- 9:04Speaker 3: Last one I've got for you here. This is kind
- 9:06Speaker 3: of a fun time sink. If you've ever been interested
- 9:10Speaker 3: in morse code but not interested in learning it.
- 9:16Speaker 2: It's a cheat for morse code absolutely.
- 9:19Speaker 3: Morsify dot Io allows you to just type in any
- 9:25Speaker 3: any message you'd like, and it actually, you know, gives
- 9:28Speaker 3: you the morse live as you're typing as fast as
- 9:31Speaker 3: it can. You know, most people are going to be
- 9:33Speaker 3: typing faster than the morse. And then you can replay
- 9:35Speaker 3: it if you'd like to just replay your message. It's
- 9:39Speaker 3: just like I said, it's kind of a fun, funky
- 9:42Speaker 3: and you can try and there's a little button so
- 9:43Speaker 3: you can do your own morse you want to press,
- 9:45Speaker 3: you can do the long hold or the single press
- 9:48Speaker 3: so you can do your own morse if you'd like,
- 9:50Speaker 3: or you can just type and let it morse send it.
- 9:53Speaker 2: It's a good question, Kerry. Can you see if you
- 9:55Speaker 2: send it?
- 9:55Speaker 4: I can't see if there's a sense.
- 9:58Speaker 5: I had this sound work earlier, but I know I
- 10:01Speaker 5: heard it because I was doing Morse code of Radio
- 10:03Speaker 5: from Hell, and I can't get it to play back
- 10:08Speaker 5: now for some reason.
- 10:10Speaker 4: M damnedest thing.
- 10:13Speaker 5: Mmm.
- 10:13Speaker 2: Interesting, it doesn't look like there's a button here. That's
- 10:16Speaker 2: too bad. You can't send it.
- 10:21Speaker 4: What's the point of having morse code if you can't
- 10:23Speaker 4: send it?
- 10:23Speaker 2: It's a really good point. Dang.
- 10:28Speaker 4: Maybe you just hold your phone up to your computer
- 10:30Speaker 4: and send it that way.
- 10:31Speaker 3: Yeah, yes, that is kind of a bummer. I didn't
- 10:35Speaker 3: realize that you can't send it. Well, if you want
- 10:38Speaker 3: to hear it, but that's about all you could do there. Yeah,
- 10:41Speaker 3: pretty bare bones. Oh well, and it does work. I
- 10:45Speaker 3: got it to work earlier.
- 10:46Speaker 4: I'm just having a connection issue right now.
- 10:48Speaker 2: Sorry about that, anything anything else? That's it? All right? Well,
- 10:54Speaker 2: thank you Jade, pre big gamer show. We'll see you
- 10:58Speaker 2: next time.
- 11:00Speaker 5: A
