- 0:04- Ho, ho, ho, and welcome to the Pop Culture

- 0:08I'm Shauna here with Olivia.
- 0:11- And we have been busy wrapping up this year.
- 0:14- Get it?
- 0:15- wrapping, and presents.
- 0:17- You sum up at that one yourself?
- 0:19- No, it was on the script right here, right here.
- 0:21- I mean, I, we don't have a script,
- 0:24but I totally made that up.
- 0:26- You can't see the mic paper.
- 0:27- Oh, of course that.
- 0:28- No matter what, we always have to spend time
- 0:32with our dear listeners, no matter how busy we are.
- 0:35- Or naughty, where this year?
- 0:37- I know, do you think you're on the naughty list
- 0:38or the nicest thing to--
- 0:39- Oh, I'm definitely on the naughty list.
- 0:40- I am too.
- 0:41- Yeah.
- 0:42- I'm just the naughty one girl.
- 0:43- You're so young, girl.
- 0:44(laughing)
- 0:46- So what have you been up to?
- 0:48- I, Shocker, was in San Francisco last weekend
- 0:52on the hunt for a new place.
- 0:57So it was raining for the first time there ever,
- 1:00since I've been there.
- 1:01- Never.
- 1:02- Not ever, but since I've been there.
- 1:03- What's this?
- 1:04- Since I've been there.
- 1:05(laughing)
- 1:06- What's this?
- 1:07What's this?
- 1:08- That was a Christmas reference
- 1:09that you couldn't figure out what we're talking about today,
- 1:11you guys.
- 1:12(laughing)
- 1:13And I was running around, no one, Brela,
- 1:18in the pouring rain, as a person from the desert.
- 1:21I was so afraid, if you live in Arizona,
- 1:24you will be happy to know that no one knows
- 1:26how to drive in the rain.
- 1:27- Okay, that's good, that's converting a lot.
- 1:28- And you know, it was, it was torrential downpour.
- 1:32- Every video you sent me from that weekend,
- 1:34you were just so wet.
- 1:35- So wet.
- 1:36- And then you eventually stopped commenting on it,
- 1:38but you were still wet in the video.
- 1:40- Yes, and I was going on a date.
- 1:43And I had very minimal time in the,
- 1:46like, so from the time I ended my tours and work
- 1:51to go on said date.
- 1:52And then, so I got very ready in the morning,
- 1:54not anticipating rain.
- 1:56- And then by the end of it,
- 1:58I looked like a wet friggin dog.
- 2:00However, I used wet dogs.
- 2:03- That's good, right?
- 2:03- Yeah, maybe.
- 2:04- I don't know if he likes dogs.
- 2:07(laughing)
- 2:08So that's good.
- 2:09But, no, specifically, I used elf primer,
- 2:12'cause I was like, okay, it's gonna be a long day.
- 2:14I'm gonna go on all these apartment and play stores.
- 2:17I need to make sure that my baby stays on point.
- 2:19I use this elf primer.
- 2:20- Is it the sticky one?
- 2:21- The pink one, yeah, it's very sticky.
- 2:23- The pink one, the Jennifer Coolidge just, wow.
- 2:25- Wow.
- 2:26- Oh, wow, just primer's amazing.
- 2:28- Yeah, I don't know if it's that.
- 2:29I'll have to post it on the answer, yeah.
- 2:31But it was amazing.
- 2:32Not a single bud, my hair on the other hand.
- 2:37Did these bangs, baby?
- 2:38- Dude, that's the struggle when you have bangs
- 2:41is when there's a weather.
- 2:42They don't stay where you want them to.
- 2:45- Yeah, I've realized that I need to start
- 2:48eyelash gluing them down at the tip,
- 2:51so they don't move around.
- 2:52- Go like this and put your hand here,
- 2:54and then just push up.
- 2:55- And then I always do a spritz of hairspray.
- 2:58'Cause I still want them to look like they have movement,
- 3:01but not actually move.
- 3:03- Okay, that's smart.
- 3:04And then if you go like that,
- 3:06you make sure you don't get the hairspray on your face.
- 3:08- Yeah, I think in that moment, I needed eyelash gluing.
- 3:10There was wind, there was rain, it was everything.
- 3:12- That's right.
- 3:13- If anybody else with bangs has some hot tips, please.
- 3:16- Yeah, that's fun.
- 3:17- The bang girls, yeah.
- 3:19So I toured so many places.
- 3:22However, if you don't know anything about San Francisco,
- 3:25there are a lot of homeless people in San Francisco.
- 3:27The rain did hide a lot of the homeless people for me.
- 3:30So I went on tours in places that are not, say,
- 3:33first a woman to live in.
- 3:34- Oh gosh.
- 3:35- And I, like, thankfully asked the dormant.
- 3:38I was like, what neighborhood is this?
- 3:39And they were like, it's the tenderloin.
- 3:41And I was like, okay, so.
- 3:42- I think tenderloin is...
- 3:44- You don't like the tenderloin if you live there.
- 3:46- That's why you make that kind of beef.
- 3:48- Yeah, I like the tenderloin cut of beef.
- 3:51I don't like the tenderloin.
- 3:53It's where all of them live.
- 3:54- Well, I hope that there's some kind of good
- 3:57housing community shelter program in place.
- 4:00- Yes, well speaking of that.
- 4:03- Oh yeah, I mean speaking of the unhoused.
- 4:05- Oh gosh.
- 4:07I got offered a job today.
- 4:09- Yes, thank you.
- 4:10- Thank you, thank you.
- 4:11- Thank you.
- 4:12- I haven't accepted it yet.
- 4:13So maybe I shouldn't say where it's in a month.
- 4:15- Yeah, we'll leave it at it.
- 4:17- I will be working with people from the unhoused community
- 4:20and victims of domestic violence.
- 4:22- We love that.
- 4:23- We stop getting back on their beaten.
- 4:25- Helping women in a whole new way.
- 4:26- Yes.
- 4:27- So, you know, if I accept that million dollar job offer
- 4:30for a non-profit.
- 4:31(laughing)
- 4:33- We don't get into that work for the money, do we?
- 4:35- Yes, no.
- 4:36Our social justice warrior over here.
- 4:38- Honestly.
- 4:39- He's bleeding heart.
- 4:40- Yes, yes.
- 4:41- I'm about to be bleeding money, so.
- 4:43- I mean, that's just true.
- 4:44You will be in San Francisco bleeding money.
- 4:46- Well, I'm sick to stay with my bleeding heart.
- 4:49It's gonna work out great.
- 4:50We'll just send each other files of blood.
- 4:52- Yes.
- 4:53- Or we could wear little necklaces
- 4:54like Angelina and her brother.
- 4:56- It's very Bob Thornton.
- 4:59- I thought it was her brother.
- 5:00- No, she just made out with her brother on the red carpet.
- 5:02- Okay, we could do that too.
- 5:03- Okay, yeah.
- 5:04- Yeah.
- 5:05- That's all I've been up to.
- 5:08I'm just kind of watching the regular shows.
- 5:09I watched, I was like,
- 5:11- We didn't saw wicked.
- 5:12- We did.
- 5:13I figured we'd talk about that at the end though.
- 5:14- Okay, so you want to talk about it now.
- 5:15- Yes, okay.
- 5:16- We did see wicked and I enjoyed it.
- 5:19- Yeah.
- 5:20- We're just watching the usual stuff.
- 5:21Me and Andrew, we're watching this anime called
- 5:23"Dun-Dun"
- 5:24- Don't drop that down.
- 5:26- Okay, so "Dun-Dun"
- 5:27and it is so over the top and funny.
- 5:32And it's about this kind of nerdy kid
- 5:34who believes in aliens.
- 5:37And then this popular girl who believes in ghosts.
- 5:40And they like run into each other
- 5:44in a quirky set of circumstances
- 5:46like most anime is and become best friends
- 5:49who've been like hunt ghosts and aliens together.
- 5:52- Okay.
- 5:53- But then in like the first episode,
- 5:55he's abducted by an alien and it steals his dick.
- 6:00- Oh, wow, okay.
- 6:02They don't probe him, they steal his probe.
- 6:06- Oh, they try to probe her.
- 6:08- But then yeah, they steal his penis.
- 6:09- Okay. - Or maybe it was one of the ghosts.
- 6:11- Somewhere.
- 6:12- Okay, along the line is penis, the stolen.
- 6:14And then he just help him get it back.
- 6:16- Okay.
- 6:17- And then he gets that back
- 6:18but it's just a shaft of there's no balls.
- 6:20So she, it sounds so absurd.
- 6:23I promise it is so over there.
- 6:24- What is going on over there?
- 6:26- Okay.
- 6:27- So then he has to go and find his balls.
- 6:29So at one, the point is,
- 6:30- This is an early enough episode of South Park,
- 6:32but it's the penis.
- 6:34- It's my penis when Mr. Karrison's penis.
- 6:37- What's that they say?
- 6:39If you love your penis, let it go.
- 6:40If it loves you to come back.
- 6:43(laughing)
- 6:44- I am such a good one.
- 6:45- Inspired a whole anime.
- 6:47- It's it.
- 6:47So where I'm at in the anime,
- 6:50so far he's retrieved one of his testicles.
- 6:52So he's got the shaft in one ball.
- 6:53- Oh, so that's how I get in.
- 6:54- And they're probably gonna fall in love at some point.
- 6:56- Infinity stone style.
- 6:57- He's kinda like all of the testicles.
- 6:59(laughing)
- 7:02- What's the name of this?
- 7:04- Dun-da-da-da-da.
- 7:04- Oh yeah, you just had that.
- 7:06- I'd distract myself with a balloon.
- 7:08- Yeah, oh.
- 7:09- Oh.
- 7:10- Okay.
- 7:11- It's really funny and it doesn't take itself very seriously.
- 7:14- I know.
- 7:15- So, you just have like the most serious.
- 7:18- I love my penis.
- 7:20- And my ball.
- 7:21- Well, yeah.
- 7:22- Cup the penis back.
- 7:24- Cup the balls.
- 7:25- It was just the shaft, okay.
- 7:26- Okay, Lance, I'm strong.
- 7:27- That's what I thought of saying.
- 7:29- What do people do with one testicle?
- 7:31That's fine.
- 7:31- It's a little lancy.
- 7:33- It's fine.
- 7:33- It's a little lancy.
- 7:35- Yeah.
- 7:35- So that's what I've been doing.
- 7:37(laughing)
- 7:39- I love that for you so much.
- 7:41- Oh my gosh.
- 7:41- Dines and Dines is not Christmas themed.
- 7:44But there are balls like holly balls.
- 7:46- Yeah.
- 7:47- I don't know.
- 7:48That's a terrible segue.
- 7:49- Yeah.
- 7:50- Today we're talking about holiday movies.
- 7:51(laughing)
- 7:53Yeah, so we're gonna take a quick break
- 7:55and then stop talking about Chinatalia.
- 7:57(laughing)
- 7:58(dramatic music)
- 8:01(dramatic music)
- 8:02- So we've talked about holiday horror films
- 8:05on this podcast and holiday films in general,
- 8:07but we have yet to take a hard look
- 8:10at the movie genre.
- 8:11- A hard run.
- 8:12- A hard look at the movie genre
- 8:15that has become inescapable every year.
- 8:17The Christmas rom-com.
- 8:19These insubstantial cookie cutter romance movies
- 8:22are like cinematic curpees.
- 8:24You have to try very hard or be very lucky
- 8:27to avoid catching one of them.
- 8:29(laughing)
- 8:31- Who doesn't think about curpees on the holiday?
- 8:35- David Ewell.
- 8:36(laughing)
- 8:38- The gift of pizza and green.
- 8:40It is the gift that keeps on going.
- 8:41- Oh my god.
- 8:42The Hallmark channel gets blamed
- 8:44for the worst of these movies.
- 8:46The formulaic big city girl returns to her small town home
- 8:49to learn the true meaning of love.
- 8:51- And her piece.
- 8:52- And her piece.
- 8:53(laughing)
- 8:54From some honky hometown boy
- 8:56who makes a gingerbread houses
- 8:58or runs a Christmas tree farm
- 9:00or some stupid shit like that.
- 9:02Almost every network and streaming service
- 9:04offers movies like this.
- 9:06So we are gonna talk about the genre in general
- 9:09and then talk about a movie that we both watched
- 9:11that I actually really enjoyed.
- 9:13It was nonsense.
- 9:15- Yes.
- 9:16- Frosty.
- 9:17- Yes.
- 9:18- Which sounds like something you shouldn't look up
- 9:19on Urban Dictionary.
- 9:20- Or that girl on Frosty.
- 9:22- That's what I'm gonna do.
- 9:23- Sure.
- 9:23- You know, I'm trying something new for the holiday season.
- 9:25We're all about experimenting.
- 9:27- This is true.
- 9:27- No, sexy, sentient snowman is not something
- 9:31that I knew I needed in my life.
- 9:35But yes, I went into it after you told me to watch it
- 9:38because you were like, it was silly goofy.
- 9:41- Yeah.
- 9:41- I actually thought I was kind of cute.
- 9:43Of course.
- 9:44- It was adorable.
- 9:45- The sexy sentient snowman delivered.
- 9:46He was sexy sentient and it's not like,
- 9:49well, for a little bit for a second.
- 9:52- You know what?
- 9:53Actually, I made a shit's creek reference
- 9:54and I didn't even realize it took me like halfway
- 9:56through the movie to realize that that's Alexis
- 9:59like boyfriend vet guy from the shit's creek.
- 10:02I didn't realize that I looked at it.
- 10:03- He looked totally different.
- 10:05- 'Cause he was long hair.
- 10:06- Yeah.
- 10:07- He looks a lot hotter with the long hair.
- 10:08- Really?
- 10:09- Yeah.
- 10:09- I prefer him with the short hair.
- 10:10- Oh.
- 10:11- Yeah.
- 10:12- I know.
- 10:13- I'm like a long hair man.
- 10:15- I mean, how'd you two, but there, I don't know.
- 10:16- You know, maybe those Fabia romance novels rubbed off
- 10:19on me more than I thought.
- 10:21- Because I do love like a long hair.
- 10:24- Yeah.
- 10:24- As a date bald man all the time.
- 10:27- You're super into bald guys.
- 10:28(laughing)
- 10:31- I know like a short hair man.
- 10:35- I think you're a cute bald or Fabia, okay?
- 10:37- Yeah.
- 10:38- I think they give it to you.
- 10:39- Honestly, it's very true.
- 10:40- That it's very, very true.
- 10:41- I like a beard.
- 10:42Okay, but sexy, sentient, so man, man.
- 10:45Hot frosty, as it's called on Netflix.
- 10:48It has Gretchen Wieners in it.
- 10:50- Lacey Schabair.
- 10:52- Oh, Gretchen.
- 10:54- I could not be bothered.
- 10:55She's Gretchen Wieners.
- 10:56I'm sorry.
- 10:57- I'm sorry, not be bothered.
- 10:58I think it's Schabair, but maybe I'm just saying
- 10:59that like the Colbert report.
- 11:01- Yeah.
- 11:02- She says Schabair.
- 11:03(laughing)
- 11:05- So she's in it and her partner, her husband dies
- 11:10of cancer. - He has been dies of cancer, yes.
- 11:12- And she lives in this little rundown house.
- 11:14- Because he used to be a contractor.
- 11:18- And it's a very small town, like so small.
- 11:22It's like what, like 100 people?
- 11:24- Yeah, and there's one cop who is like the comic relief
- 11:28slash antagonist of the movie,
- 11:30because he wants to arrest hot frosty for streaking.
- 11:34- Yes.
- 11:35- Because when he got turned into a human,
- 11:37he of course had no clothes on.
- 11:38And he had to like rob a thrift shop
- 11:41and he bought a jumpsuit that said Jack.
- 11:43- I get it.
- 11:44- Jack Frost.
- 11:45- And my favorite holiday horror movie,
- 11:47if you have any listeners about it.
- 11:49- Every time you say that, though,
- 11:50I think of Michael Keaton.
- 11:51- I don't think that was a horror movie.
- 11:54- I was talking about this in my office last week.
- 11:56And they were like, like the Michael Keaton one?
- 11:58And I was like, no.
- 12:00- It's fair.
- 12:01- If my deceased parent came back to me in the form
- 12:04of a snowman, I would be horrified.
- 12:07- You'd be like, no, you'd be like your mom.
- 12:09- Yeah, but it would be horrified.
- 12:11She's got like sticks for arms.
- 12:13- But what if she was like--
- 12:14- I'd like sticks for arms.
- 12:15- What if she was like hot frosty version,
- 12:17not like the sticks back at abs,
- 12:19but like she looked like herself?
- 12:21- Then that'd be fine.
- 12:21And then I would, I guess, have to win her over
- 12:23with love and turn her into a human.
- 12:25- You'd have to get like a really big freezer.
- 12:27(laughing)
- 12:28So she'd stick around.
- 12:29- This move is so stupid.
- 12:31But if you don't think through it,
- 12:33because yeah, he says snowman.
- 12:35So he starts to like melt.
- 12:37- Yeah.
- 12:38- But it's basically just him being moist all the time.
- 12:40- Oh.
- 12:41- Mm.
- 12:42- Which is--
- 12:43- As Andrew said, is that just an excuse
- 12:44for him to have wet abs for the whole movie?
- 12:47And it's like, essentially, yes.
- 12:48- Babywild that baby.
- 12:50- Yeah, you know.
- 12:51- And it's melting.
- 12:52- And then when he gets thrown in jail,
- 12:53it's very warm in the jail.
- 12:55He starts to actually die.
- 12:57- I actually didn't realize until this exact moment.
- 12:59It's kind of like a, what's the,
- 13:02I'm terrible Disney person, the one where they have to like,
- 13:04be kissed.
- 13:06Sleeping beauty.
- 13:07- I was sleeping beauty.
- 13:07- Yeah, snow white.
- 13:08It's essentially both of them.
- 13:09- To be like a real person.
- 13:10- Yeah, to come back from like a coma.
- 13:13- Yeah.
- 13:14- Yeah, I guess that was kind of.
- 13:15So, okay, questions about--
- 13:17- Not for us to be pairing the hot frosty script
- 13:20to Sleeping Beauty.
- 13:22- I mean, they're both kind of nonsense.
- 13:24- Yeah.
- 13:25- Okay, my favorite thing about hot frosty,
- 13:28is when he finds, okay, so he's learning everything
- 13:31he can from TV, right?
- 13:33She leaves him at home at one point.
- 13:37Well, she goes works at her little diner,
- 13:38of course, works at a fucking diner.
- 13:40He goes into the basement and finds all of her dead husbands
- 13:43stuff.
- 13:44He finds death record or like the note from the doctor
- 13:48and in comic sands, it says, "Doctors notes start chemotherapy,
- 13:57"asap in comic sands."
- 13:59And he's like, "Wow, I don't know what any of that means,
- 14:03"but it sounds not good."
- 14:05And then he goes, "What's cancer?"
- 14:07- How can he read, first of all?
- 14:09- Yeah, I guess--
- 14:10- That's a good point.
- 14:11- How does he read?
- 14:12How does he speak English?
- 14:13- That's a good plot.
- 14:14- Oh, like?
- 14:15That's a good plot, oh, I know.
- 14:17- How do we know he's like an English speaking hot frosty?
- 14:19What if she put like the scarf around him
- 14:22and he comes to life and he's like,
- 14:23"Joabella."
- 14:24- Yeah, sexy, senty and snowman.
- 14:26- I don't know.
- 14:27- He said something, how he speaks English,
- 14:28can't can read.
- 14:30- How did we all speak a language at some point, you know?
- 14:34- We would learn it though.
- 14:35- I know, but how did the first person
- 14:37learn a language?
- 14:38- They, I guess they invented it.
- 14:40- But like how?
- 14:41I'm not even a smoking weed anymore.
- 14:44- I know, I feel so hot.
- 14:45(laughing)
- 14:47- Like, how did words start out there?
- 14:50- No, literally, as a kid, I used to ask my mom
- 14:51this question like over and over and she just went,
- 14:53"I don't know, man."
- 14:54- Get going.
- 14:55- I don't know, I don't know.
- 14:56- Yeah, my mom shut up.
- 14:57- You're so annoying.
- 14:58- Just give me a moment of rest.
- 15:00(laughing)
- 15:01- I'm bad, I please.
- 15:02I need to, mommy needs her special chase.
- 15:06- Me and while I'm like,
- 15:07- I'm also like, forging into the bathroom.
- 15:08I'm like, "What are you doing?"
- 15:09(laughing)
- 15:10- That was me, my mom's on the phone with my uncle
- 15:13at one point when I was little and I woke up to her.
- 15:15'Cause of course when you're a kid, you have no,
- 15:17you don't care if your parents are on the phone.
- 15:19- Yeah.
- 15:20- You're like, "I want I need to say more important."
- 15:22I woke up and I'm like, "Mom, let's an orgasm."
- 15:25And I just remember her going,
- 15:27"She just asked me when an orgasm is."
- 15:29I got her going.
- 15:30- And I was standing there like,
- 15:31"Yeah, so hung up."
- 15:32And she's like, "It's the peak."
- 15:35- How old were you?
- 15:36- I mean, maybe 10.
- 15:38- Oh my, how did you hear this?
- 15:40- I have no idea.
- 15:42I knew what sex was at a certain point,
- 15:44but I didn't know what it was.
- 15:45- Yeah.
- 15:46- And so she told me and I was like,
- 15:47"This is not the female experience."
- 15:49(laughing)
- 15:51I didn't know what an orgasm was until I was 25.
- 15:54(laughing)
- 15:56Anyway, hot frosty.
- 15:59(laughing)
- 16:00He doesn't have fingerprints 'cause he's a snowman.
- 16:03- Yeah.
- 16:03- But eventually he turns human.
- 16:04- Yeah.
- 16:05- Oh, no.
- 16:06My other favorite thing about hot frosty
- 16:07besides the comic sands and the he has cancer report
- 16:11is she's at the cafe in the end and she's like,
- 16:14"Jack is, you guys aren't gonna believe me,
- 16:16"but he's a snowman and everyone might..."
- 16:18Yeah, we know.
- 16:19Yeah.
- 16:21- He's, you guys all knew and he's there like,
- 16:23"Yeah, it's a Christmas miracle."
- 16:26- No.
- 16:27- Yeah.
- 16:27- Everyone was just fine.
- 16:30- I am.
- 16:30- It's a snowman.
- 16:31- I thought I was really silly, really funny.
- 16:33I thought it was good enough.
- 16:35Like, "Gracian Weeners," again, that's her name.
- 16:38- Sure, man.
- 16:39- Um, she, I think she did well.
- 16:41Like I think she's good.
- 16:42- She's good.
- 16:43- She's good. - She's good.
- 16:44- She's good.
- 16:45- She's good.
- 16:46- She's good.
- 16:47- Yeah.
- 16:48It was fun enough.
- 16:49I knew it was gonna be a terrible movie.
- 16:50It's a Netflix Christmas movie.
- 16:51- Oh, but I loved it when I entered it.
- 16:52- I'm talking about a ship.
- 16:52- I thought it was cute.
- 16:54She had good timing.
- 16:54I did love the Lindsay Lohan Christmas movie
- 16:58that we talked about where Shauna and I literally muted it
- 17:01and made up our own words while drinking instead.
- 17:05Because it was such a bad movie.
- 17:06They make a joke and she goes,
- 17:09"Wow, that really looks like a girl I went to high school with."
- 17:12- Yes.
- 17:13- Which means, canonically, that Mean Girls was also in that town.
- 17:17Right?
- 17:19Because like, she's from that small town.
- 17:21- Yeah, maybe.
- 17:22Weird.
- 17:23- I don't like that.
- 17:24- Also, no.
- 17:25- Maybe it's just the multiverse of Madness.
- 17:26- Or maybe she married Mr. Contractor Cancer Man.
- 17:30- Contractor Cancer Man.
- 17:32- And then move there.
- 17:34- Yeah, that's true.
- 17:35- It's all the multiverse of Mean Girls.
- 17:37- The man, I think we need to do a deep dive on this.
- 17:40- I want to see, I want to see cool where
- 17:42Caddy steals sexy sentience, no man man, in Hawaii.
- 17:47- Oh, I thought you were gonna say steal something
- 17:49with the multiverse of madness.
- 17:50- Or something that steals the dark hole.
- 17:52- Steal the infinity stone.
- 17:54- Steal the girl.
- 17:54- Don't touch the dance balls.
- 17:58- Don't touch the dance balls.
- 17:59It's just all in there.
- 18:00It's the multiverse.
- 18:02God, it's nonsense.
- 18:04Anyway, yes, hot frosty was perfect.
- 18:07If you just,
- 18:08- It was just really stupid moving.
- 18:10- Yeah, and that's what we needed.
- 18:11I watched it like two days after the election, I think,
- 18:15because I said, I want something that is just,
- 18:18I don't need to think too deeply.
- 18:19And of course, I spent the next two days like,
- 18:21how did he know how to speak?
- 18:23- She was not thinking too deep.
- 18:25(laughing)
- 18:27But I needed something silly.
- 18:28And I was thinking on the level of five year old Olivia,
- 18:31I thought about that.
- 18:32- Mommy, what's an orgasm in what her words
- 18:35and how did they become things that we say?
- 18:38- Like the word orgasm.
- 18:40- Poor moms out there.
- 18:41Respects all the moms, literally.
- 18:43- But I think that's kind of what you get
- 18:44with these like hallmark romcoms.
- 18:46- Right.
- 18:47- Do you watch the Chad Michael Murray one?
- 18:48- No, but I want to.
- 18:49- I have an eye bear.
- 18:50- Oh God, what's it called?
- 18:52- They're like male strippers.
- 18:54- Yes.
- 18:55- Mary gentleman.
- 18:56- Yeah, that's a gentle man.
- 18:57- Yes, I mean, it's on Netflix.
- 18:59And this girl is a Broadway dancer
- 19:01and she's trying to save her family's bar.
- 19:04That's like a jazz club or something.
- 19:06- Yeah.
- 19:07- And again, we haven't, yeah, there are of us have seen it.
- 19:09But I'm going to the ribs.
- 19:11- In order to save the bar, she decides she's going
- 19:14to host a male stripper.
- 19:16- A male review.
- 19:17- And Christmas Eve to save the bar.
- 19:20And Chad--
- 19:21- The way Jesus would want it.
- 19:22- Yeah, so it's like magic, my Christmas style.
- 19:25And I don't know, I don't really,
- 19:27Chad Michael Murray doesn't do it for me.
- 19:29- Dude, okay, he didn't do it for me back in the day,
- 19:32but like watching the previews from this,
- 19:34I think this man got fine or with age.
- 19:36- Maybe it's because we're getting finer with age.
- 19:39- Yeah, I don't, I think the opposite.
- 19:41Like I think I think he was more attractive
- 19:43when he was younger.
- 19:44- Like Cinderella's turn.
- 19:45- And then enough blonde Ben hurt me in my past,
- 19:47but-- - I never trust a blonde man.
- 19:50- No, no, no, no.
- 19:52- We don't do it, sorry, blonde man.
- 19:54No blonde man, or what's my name?
- 19:55- It's me, I'm a blonde man.
- 19:57And you listen to this, please, like just let us know.
- 19:59- We like you a little bit more than the blonde man
- 20:02that I've dated, 'cause you listen to us, but--
- 20:04- Yeah, yeah, 'cause they definitely do.
- 20:06- You earn some points by listening to this podcast.
- 20:09We'll put it in the plus column.
- 20:11- But I don't know, there's something about him.
- 20:12He does it for me.
- 20:13- Yeah, okay.
- 20:14- Maybe it's just the abs.
- 20:15I think it's the abs.
- 20:16- He released a calendar as well.
- 20:18- Like it's really full blown going into this now,
- 20:21where it's like every month he's stressed
- 20:23like in a sexy little costume.
- 20:26- Like sexy male stripper.
- 20:27Have you ever been no male stripper?
- 20:29- A gay club, yeah.
- 20:31- Okay, but not like a gay stripper club, yeah.
- 20:35- So they're not like girls there?
- 20:36- Magic Mike, I mean, there were women there.
- 20:39- Okay. - I got you, I got you.
- 20:40- But like the audience was men.
- 20:42- Yeah.
- 20:43- We, I used to go to this one in Phoenix called Dick's Cabaret.
- 20:47- I love that.
- 20:48- So let's go.
- 20:50- I have no idea of Dick's Cabaret still open.
- 20:52I haven't gone since I was maybe like 18 or no.
- 20:55- Okay.
- 20:55- It means Stephanie and Jessica used to go
- 20:57and I remember calling for the hours once.
- 21:00I haven't, this is how long ago this was.
- 21:02- We were 18.
- 21:03- Yeah, and we were like,
- 21:04- I was just, I was like,
- 21:05- I was calling seven years.
- 21:07- We had to call them from the yellow page, let's see.
- 21:10We wanna know what time the dicks are here.
- 21:13- And it's in the phone with Dick's Cabaret,
- 21:15home with the biggest cock in the Southwest.
- 21:17(laughing)
- 21:18- I love that.
- 21:19What a child.
- 21:20- I'm better not be closed.
- 21:21- I hope there's still life.
- 21:22It was in like the industrial part of downtown Phoenix
- 21:25where you're driving and you're like,
- 21:26maybe we shouldn't get out of the car ladies.
- 21:29Like, we're teenagers.
- 21:31- Yeah, it was a manly woman there.
- 21:32Was it also a lot of men?
- 21:33- It was a second mix.
- 21:34- Okay.
- 21:35- And then for my bachelor at party,
- 21:36we did thunder from down under.
- 21:37- Oh, was that fun?
- 21:38- Oh, it was.
- 21:39- Oh, fun dude.
- 21:40- Yeah.
- 21:41- I had like the sash and the tiara or the,
- 21:44not the tiara, the fucking veil.
- 21:46- Yeah.
- 21:47- It's how they brought me up on stage.
- 21:48- The sticker kissed me.
- 21:50- Ooh.
- 21:51- So I can tell you that's no.
- 21:51- Oh my God.
- 21:52He was so fine.
- 21:54He was a fire man.
- 21:55- Ooh.
- 21:56- I mean, I don't think professionally.
- 21:57He was a fire man.
- 21:58I think that was probably his costume.
- 21:59Anyway.
- 22:00- Yeah, maybe.
- 22:01- Maybe, I don't know, maybe.
- 22:02- Maybe he'd be a volunteer fire fighter.
- 22:03- He's fighting that fire in my heart.
- 22:06And he's all strallian because it's thunder from down,
- 22:08down, down.
- 22:08- Oh.
- 22:09- And he's like,
- 22:10"Oh, right."
- 22:11- You don't like Sam?
- 22:12(laughing)
- 22:14- I think it's about as real as you're an ass.
- 22:16- Holy.
- 22:17- An ass and a toy key.
- 22:18(laughing)
- 22:19- He smelled so good.
- 22:21- I hope so.
- 22:22- He's whipping me around in an office chair.
- 22:25I don't know why he's a fire man with an office chair.
- 22:28- Yeah.
- 22:28- He's fine.
- 22:29- Don't ask questions.
- 22:30Just like with hot frosty.
- 22:31- And it was so confused.
- 22:32I don't know what to say while I'm up there.
- 22:34Like everyone's staring at you.
- 22:35So I just went,
- 22:36"He smelled really good."
- 22:38- He's like, "Sounds."
- 22:39- He's like, "Sounds."
- 22:40- He's like, "He did that thing,
- 22:43retab, his cheater."
- 22:44And you like go into KISS and he turned and kissed me
- 22:47on the mouth.
- 22:48- What a cheater.
- 22:49- I know.
- 22:50I'm my bachelor at party.
- 22:51I'm kissin'.
- 22:52- He's so late, dude.
- 22:53- I say so late.
- 22:54- He's so late, dude.
- 22:54Good name.
- 22:55- I was, I've never been, that was my first kiss.
- 22:57(laughing)
- 22:59My husband and I were saving it.
- 23:00- I was saving it from marriage.
- 23:02- Dugger style.
- 23:03- Oh god.
- 23:04(laughing)
- 23:06- Oh my god, this is a rant heavy episode.
- 23:08I am A okay with it.
- 23:09- Yes.
- 23:10- Did you watch anything else besides Hot Frosty?
- 23:12I've seen, I watch one with my grandma
- 23:15because she loves those home-marked romance movies.
- 23:17- And gosh, it was one of the girls from The Walking Dead.
- 23:20I don't remember the actress's name,
- 23:22but she is a sports therapist, like physical therapist.
- 23:26And her client is a professional athlete.
- 23:30And at first, they don't like each other very much
- 23:32'cause they got very different attitudes
- 23:33about Christmas and life.
- 23:35And then in the end they fall in love.
- 23:36And it was delightful.
- 23:38- How can people fall in love if they don't like Christmas
- 23:41and one loves Christmas?
- 23:42(laughing)
- 23:43- Yeah, I think that home-marked movies traditionally
- 23:47are very formulaic, very standard of big city girl
- 23:52goes home, falls in love.
- 23:55I don't typically like those movies.
- 23:58I think I was able to watch Hot Frosty
- 24:00'cause it was like a silly like sentient snowman.
- 24:04- Any talk.
- 24:04- Yeah, any time, that didn't hurt.
- 24:06- So I wanted to go on a mission to find a
- 24:10Christmas movie that actually did not fit
- 24:15the formulaic Christmas romance movie.
- 24:17- Did you find what?
- 24:18- I did, I ended up crying in the middle of the day
- 24:23because I was also working.
- 24:25I was like, let me find this Christmas movie.
- 24:28- I'm gonna turn off my brain a little.
- 24:30- So it was last Christmas with Amelia Clark
- 24:34and Henry Golding.
- 24:36- I'm not crying yet, but I heard it sad.
- 24:38- Oh my God, it's so sad.
- 24:39- It came out 2019.
- 24:41- And it is, it's very sweet.
- 24:44It's got a very good message.
- 24:46I think I identified with,
- 24:49so I had seen it before in COVID times, actually.
- 24:54And my brother and his wife are like literally falling
- 24:59in love and I'm over here like drinking everyday,
- 25:02single alone in COVID, like a total mess.
- 25:05And I remember like resonating with the movie a lot
- 25:09because Amelia Clark is like this, not put together,
- 25:14I think she's 26 or 27 in the movie.
- 25:16She's very, like, yeah.
- 25:18- So she's very like unkempt, not put together,
- 25:23like struggling in life.
- 25:24And I really remember like resonating with movie,
- 25:27but the end of the movie is so frickin sad.
- 25:30I cried my eyes out, I don't wanna spoil it.
- 25:32- I need to watch it, yeah, I don't wanna spoil it
- 25:34for anyone who hasn't seen it.
- 25:36- But it is such a good movie and it's all about life
- 25:40and like helping people and appreciating what you have
- 25:44and the character in it, Amelia Clark, you know,
- 25:48was really sick at one point
- 25:50and I kind of went through a similar journey
- 25:52when I was younger and I really, really liked it.
- 25:55But I was trying to rewatch it
- 25:57so I could re-talk about it on this podcast.
- 25:59And I just accidentally traumatized.
- 26:02- She's trying to frighten my eyes out.
- 26:04- I had like 330 today.
- 26:06- Today?
- 26:07- Yeah, I watched it today.
- 26:07And I was like, God, why am I crying in the middle of the day?
- 26:10- Thankfully.
- 26:11- I got the client in the client at the club.
- 26:12- And the Tuesday.
- 26:13- Thankfully I wasn't a busy work day,
- 26:14but there are some really good movies.
- 26:16And I think like not being formulaic
- 26:19makes a good Christmas movie.
- 26:21Like you look at like elf and that is just,
- 26:25no one had any idea that elf would work.
- 26:27Like it was just a little feral.
- 26:29- And it's to have a little romance in there.
- 26:31- Yeah, it's like fun.
- 26:31- But it's just mainly wolf feral running around New York.
- 26:34- In a freaking like elf costume.
- 26:37- Yeah, and tight love Christmas movies.
- 26:40I make me feel happy.
- 26:41And like if you're watching the "Homark Ones" more power to,
- 26:44you know what you're getting.
- 26:45Sometimes we need those like no surprises.
- 26:47- Traditional typical.
- 26:48- Yeah.
- 26:49That's interesting.
- 26:50You like those, but you, I don't like seek them out
- 26:53unless I'm in the mood for something that's like,
- 26:55no brainers.
- 26:56- Yeah, no brainer.
- 26:57I do appreciate that they're getting a little more diverse.
- 27:01- No, like yes.
- 27:01- I remember seeing those graphics
- 27:03where it's all like a white couple,
- 27:05a white straight couple, we're all in like their 20s or 30s
- 27:09and they're all wearing the green and red sweaters.
- 27:11It's like every single cover of the same.
- 27:14- Like a repeat.
- 27:15- Spock the difference in these images.
- 27:16- So now they're starting to have more like people of color,
- 27:19more like LGBTQ people in there,
- 27:21which I like.
- 27:22I really did like happiest season with Kristen Stewart.
- 27:26Did you not see this one?
- 27:28Oh, it's so good.
- 27:29So, "Homark" maybe?
- 27:30- No, it's on, it's a Netflix original.
- 27:33I think it came out in 2020.
- 27:35I'm sorry, it's Hulu.
- 27:36So she is dating this woman, McKinsey Davis,
- 27:40his character named Harper.
- 27:42And Harper's not out to her parents yet.
- 27:44So, Brings Kristen Stewart's character home for the holidays,
- 27:48but just has to tell everyone they're just friends.
- 27:51- And they were roommates.
- 27:52- And they were roommates.
- 27:53Aubrey Plasas and she plays a lesbian too,
- 27:56which just kind of makes everyone gayer.
- 27:58- Oh, I've seen the clips of this,
- 28:00but I've never actually seen it.
- 28:02- Yeah, give it up.
- 28:03- Yeah, watch it.
- 28:03Watch it, it's definitely, I mean, it's a rom-com,
- 28:05but it's about finding yourself and being sure
- 28:07to yourself over the holidays and finally,
- 28:09and I enjoy it.
- 28:11- I love about it, yeah.
- 28:12- I love about it.
- 28:13- Yeah, it's good stuff.
- 28:14- We definitely need more representation within it.
- 28:17Again, we talked about this last Christmas.
- 28:19I'm more of like a holiday horror person.
- 28:22- I do like a good holiday horror.
- 28:23- I love the silliness, the campiness,
- 28:25the goofiness of it, all deep down.
- 28:28But if you had to do like,
- 28:29only watch one Christmas movie for the rest of your life,
- 28:32what would it be?
- 28:33- Jim Carrey's how they grudge still Christmas.
- 28:35- Damn it, that was gonna be mine.
- 28:37- Okay, to be original, I would say,
- 28:40the nightmaribow for Christmas.
- 28:41- Really?
- 28:42- Is that a Christmas movie or Halloween movie?
- 28:44- It's a Christmas movie in my mind.
- 28:45- Yeah, my other one would probably be home alone too.
- 28:48- Ooh, yeah, but Trump's in that.
- 28:50- How fuck you're right.
- 28:52- I know, I ruined everything good.
- 28:53- Man, we just digitally did it.
- 28:55- Yeah, in my mind, he's gone.
- 28:58- He's gone.
- 28:58- In my mind, he's gone.
- 28:59- He's a Christmas miracle.
- 29:01- That's the real miracle.
- 29:03- Coming out of Timout.
- 29:04- Somebody please send us a copy of the non-Trump.
- 29:08- Yeah.
- 29:09- Yeah.
- 29:10- That's a great one too.
- 29:10- That's all we want for Christmas.
- 29:12- We can replace him with some other millionaire.
- 29:14- Yeah, let's take a quick break.
- 29:15And I wanna talk about a movie that's not a holiday
- 29:19specific film, but something that is going to be
- 29:21very popular and I'm sure a lot of people
- 29:23are gonna be watching this Christmas in theaters.
- 29:25(dramatic music)
- 29:29(dramatic music)
- 29:30- So Olivia and I went on a little movie date last night.
- 29:34- We did.
- 29:35- I mean, this is coming out like weeks later,
- 29:37but that's fine.
- 29:38- At some point in the not too distant past,
- 29:41we went on a movie date and we saw Wicked.
- 29:44- Yes.
- 29:45- You didn't have, like you've never seen the musical
- 29:49neither of I, and you were like,
- 29:50I guess we can see this, yeah.
- 29:51- Yeah, Shawna texted me and was like,
- 29:53can we go see Wicked?
- 29:55And I was like, I am not a musical person
- 29:58or a theater kid.
- 29:59Did you do theater as a kid?
- 30:01- A little bit.
- 30:02- Okay, interesting.
- 30:03- Yeah, I mean, I was definitely like a competitive dancer
- 30:07and I'm not much of a singer.
- 30:09I know that's Shawkin, right?
- 30:10(laughing)
- 30:11- Who'd have found this voice?
- 30:13- Just Creed.
- 30:15- Just Creed, that's the only thing I'm good at singing.
- 30:18(laughing)
- 30:19- I'll say karaoke every time.
- 30:21- Every time.
- 30:22- But I do really like musicals.
- 30:24I love Lone Rouge and Chicago.
- 30:27- Lone Rouge's classic.
- 30:29- Yeah, the greatest showman, all of that.
- 30:31I love her solo movie.
- 30:32- Really, it's me.
- 30:33- My husband's favorite movie.
- 30:35- So random.
- 30:36- What?
- 30:37- Okay, I'm gonna put him out a little bit.
- 30:39That song, there's a song from it.
- 30:41I don't remember what it's called,
- 30:42but he gets a little teary eyeed every time it comes off.
- 30:47- Oh God.
- 30:47- I'm like, I caught him watching YouTube videos
- 30:50and it was just like,
- 30:51(laughing)
- 30:52just a little, just a little misty eye.
- 30:54I'll just send it to you.
- 30:55It's a beautiful song.
- 30:56- Okay, I'm gonna make fun of him forever.
- 30:58- Absolutely.
- 30:59- Absolutely.
- 31:00- But I left wicked.
- 31:02It was a little long.
- 31:03- Yeah.
- 31:04- But I think that I'm not a huge Ariana Grande fan either.
- 31:08I think she's a little problematic,
- 31:09but she did a great job.
- 31:10- Yes.
- 31:11- I can't believe that that voice comes out of that.
- 31:12- I need a new body.
- 31:13- Oh, emphasis on the tiny little body.
- 31:19So I would say--
- 31:20- It's a body-shaning here obviously, but--
- 31:22- Yeah, yeah.
- 31:23- So I'm gonna say, here's my quick spoiler for review.
- 31:28Goddamn it.
- 31:30Why can Jonathan Bailey not be bisexual
- 31:33just for my own personal fantasies?
- 31:35That would be amazing.
- 31:36- Oh, he's seen by.
- 31:37- So he like, he's not.
- 31:38- Oh, I can't even be bisexual.
- 31:40- I got so hopeful.
- 31:41- Yeah, same.
- 31:42That's why I said, why can't I be bisexual?
- 31:44Just so I could dream that one day I would have a chance.
- 31:48- Oh my God.
- 31:48- I would be very happy for him.
- 31:49- So many times throughout the movie.
- 31:51- He's so handsome.
- 31:52- Yeah, the only reason I said yes to going was
- 31:56because I wanted to stare at Jonathan Bailey more.
- 31:58- He's so good looking.
- 32:00- Dancing, singing, he's even hotter
- 32:03than he is in Bridgerton.
- 32:04Two, every time SpongeBob was on screen
- 32:07and told frickin' jump scare.
- 32:09- We both went, "Boo."
- 32:10- Yeah, no, he makes this comment about family
- 32:13not being sad in the very first five minutes of the movie.
- 32:18And I went, "Sure, your family doesn't feel that way."
- 32:21- I was like, "I bet your family misses you
- 32:23and you said, I bet your kids miss you."
- 32:25(laughing)
- 32:27- And I was like, "So good."
- 32:29- The editors did him so dirty, keeping that in there.
- 32:32And then, you know, unfortunately,
- 32:36I think that Ariana did an amazing job in the movie
- 32:40both singing, I think her comedic timing was amazing.
- 32:44I had a very hard time looking at her,
- 32:49purely as someone coming out of being a teenager
- 32:53in the 2000s.
- 32:54- I got you.
- 32:55- And it really triggered like a part of me
- 32:59that reminded me of that picture of like Lindsay Lohan
- 33:04and Nicole Richie when, like in the tabloid.
- 33:08- And it was jarring at certain points.
- 33:13And, you know, everyone is on their own journey,
- 33:16but you could definitely tell like when certain scenes
- 33:19were filmed just by how skinny she was getting
- 33:23throughout the film.
- 33:25- Yeah, I could say that.
- 33:26- And, you know, she's commented on having health issues
- 33:30and things like that, whatever they are,
- 33:32wish her love and light.
- 33:34But it being a PG movie really scared me
- 33:36because you could see how it could be like triggering.
- 33:39- Yeah, she's promoted as the most beautiful,
- 33:42the best, like the most popular.
- 33:44And like, you know, as someone coming out of the Y2K generation,
- 33:49like those images stick with you,
- 33:53even to the point where you're in your 30s
- 33:55and you're like, oh my gosh.
- 33:57- Totally did.
- 33:58- Like, yeah, immediately was like jarred.
- 34:00- Yeah.
- 34:01- But I think her singing was amazing.
- 34:03I mean, she acted as funny.
- 34:05- She was so good at it.
- 34:07- Her and Bo and Yang have such good chemistry
- 34:09who plays whenever best friends.
- 34:11And then at one point when she's like faints
- 34:13and he like lifts her and carries her away.
- 34:15I'm like, yeah.
- 34:16- I imagine that's how Ariana Grande leaves every room.
- 34:18- Yeah. - I do think the personality of Glenda
- 34:22is very close to Ariana's actual personality.
- 34:26- Very like self-centered and like,
- 34:29thinks that she's just hot shit.
- 34:31- Who knows if this was ever true,
- 34:32but there was a rumor that for a very long time,
- 34:34Ariana would not let anyone photograph
- 34:36the left side of her face.
- 34:38Like, to the point where all of the people
- 34:41at her concert, it's like the professional photographers
- 34:44would have to be on the right side.
- 34:46- So but they couldn't capture it.
- 34:47- So Ariana's always had a very big diva vibe
- 34:50follow her from the donut looking all the way to.
- 34:54- The donut looking is what put me over the edge with her.
- 34:55I was like, this is just so like looking down.
- 34:58Like that was felt very classist to me.
- 35:00And that's where I was like,
- 35:01which is my head of my hair.
- 35:03- Yeah.
- 35:04- Sanderriva did amazing.
- 35:06I think that the acting that she did
- 35:09was so amazing.
- 35:10The singing she did, she's a Broadway person.
- 35:13- She was wonderful.
- 35:14I mean, she's been a little over top of the top
- 35:16in the press.
- 35:17- Oh my god, the press story has been so--
- 35:19- It's been so funny.
- 35:21They're just like all over each other.
- 35:23- They're all over each other.
- 35:24- And then just bawling their eyes out the entire time.
- 35:26- But you know a lot of people are listening
- 35:28to divine gravity and holding space for that.
- 35:31- Yeah.
- 35:31- And they're just like grasping hands and weeping.
- 35:34- No, not grasping hands and grasping hands.
- 35:35- They're just like the nail.
- 35:37- It's literally--
- 35:38- They shot like shot, something's holding space for you.
- 35:41- They're holding space for you.
- 35:43- I didn't know if they were doing that.
- 35:44- No, that's too much.
- 35:45It's holding the nail.
- 35:47She's only holding her nail.
- 35:49She's not even touching her fingers.
- 35:51- She's just holding her nail.
- 35:53- She's so comfortable.
- 35:54- Huh?
- 35:55(laughing)
- 35:57- Yeah.
- 35:58- It's been a little over the top
- 35:59and I'm glad that this press tour is gonna be ending.
- 36:01- For now, it's a part one.
- 36:03- It's a part one.
- 36:04- It's a part one.
- 36:05- Jeff Goldbloom's in it.
- 36:06He's wonderful as the Wizard of Oz.
- 36:08Michelle Yo is mad and morrible.
- 36:10I didn't realize this, but Peter Dinklage
- 36:12plays the voice of Dr. Dillamond.
- 36:14- Oh really?
- 36:15- Yeah, which makes sense 'cause I liked him.
- 36:17- You couldn't figure that out?
- 36:18- No, I'm really bad at that.
- 36:20- Oh, okay.
- 36:21- So she faced--
- 36:23- Yeah, and then sometimes I'm face blind,
- 36:24like with hot frosty.
- 36:26(laughing)
- 36:28I'm just not good at human interactions.
- 36:30But yeah, I would pop wicked.
- 36:32It's got a 90% I think on Rotten Tomatoes,
- 36:36I think it's just gonna be kind of like a cultural thing.
- 36:38Like everybody's gonna be talking about for a long time.
- 36:41Like Barbie Grasp Dissolve or, you know, months.
- 36:44And I think it's wicked right now.
- 36:46- It's wicked cool.
- 36:48- It's so wicked.
- 36:49- It's two non-theater people,
- 36:52or two, you like musicals, but like not a theater kid,
- 36:56not a musical person.
- 36:58I actually really did enjoy it.
- 37:00- I do think it could've been a little bit shorter.
- 37:04- I got a little long in the two there.
- 37:06- Yeah, in the middle of the neck.
- 37:07- Yeah, you know, I think it could've been two hours
- 37:11and 20 minutes, but you know, I think from everything
- 37:14I've read online for people who are theater kids,
- 37:17musical obsessed, like it is just such a love letter to.
- 37:21- Right, it's everything that they wanted.
- 37:22- Yes, and I'm glad that we didn't have any singers
- 37:24in the audience in our theater.
- 37:25- Oh, yeah, I think so.
- 37:27- We did have a standing clap at the end of the time.
- 37:30- We did have a standing nomination.
- 37:32- And I was like, okay.
- 37:33- I wish she had that note.
- 37:34- Yeah.
- 37:36- Yeah, a lot of people are saying that they actually
- 37:39like Cynthia Areva's rendition of "Define Gravity"
- 37:44more than Adenum and Zell.
- 37:46- Adel de Zeein.
- 37:47- Is that it?
- 37:52- No, it's Adenum and Zell.
- 37:54- John Schruppelter was introducing her
- 37:56in the Oscars years ago.
- 37:58- And he said, ladies and gentlemen,
- 38:00Zell de Zeein, he just made it up.
- 38:04- I'm sorry, keep going, keep going.
- 38:07- I'll send you the clip.
- 38:08It's amazing.
- 38:08- I know what you're talking about,
- 38:09but Adel de Zeein was like, did I say it wrong?
- 38:13Adenum and Zell is in.
- 38:14- Wicked spoiler.
- 38:15Sorry, that's a total spoiler.
- 38:17- Yeah, I mean she has a little pop up.
- 38:17- Yeah, yeah, yeah, she's wonderful.
- 38:19- Yes, no, I think it was really, really good.
- 38:22I'm excited for part two.
- 38:23It's gonna come out exactly a year from now.
- 38:25- Yes.
- 38:26- They've already filmed it.
- 38:27- Nice.
- 38:28- And so that's really nice.
- 38:29And I will say, if you saw the trailer for it,
- 38:33the trailer made it look very CGI.
- 38:35It's actually not.
- 38:36- There's a lot of practical sets.
- 38:38- No, all these tulips in the movie, all real.
- 38:42- Really?
- 38:42- All real.
- 38:43- That was in tulips, planet.
- 38:45- Love that.
- 38:46- Yeah.
- 38:46- Love that.
- 38:47- Yeah.
- 38:48- So we're gonna pop that.
- 38:49And I think that includes our look at
- 38:52the Hallmark Cinematic Universe.

- 39:12- For free.
- 39:13- Oh my gosh.
- 39:14Okay.
- 39:15On this note, I will say.
- 39:16- On the note of being horny.
- 39:18- No, I'm not a being horny.
- 39:19- But if you ever looked at someone's Netflix,
- 39:22for the first time and you're like,
- 39:24I feel like I'm seeing into their soul.
- 39:27- Ooh, no, but I guess I could see that.
- 39:28Like if somebody saw my Netflix and was like,
- 39:31bitch, how many times have you watched
- 39:33Buffy the Vampires are?
- 39:34- Yeah.
- 39:34- Yeah.
- 39:35- Stop it.
- 39:36- So I once had a boyfriend.
- 39:38- No, God.
- 39:40- I fell asleep and just like passed out

- 39:44And I woke up in the morning and he was like,

- 39:50Like, are you doing okay?
- 39:52- Are you doing okay?
- 39:52- No.
- 39:53- No.
- 39:54And I had that moment this weekend.
- 39:56And I was like, this feels like I'm really seeing
- 39:58into someone's soul.
- 40:00And I don't know about that.
- 40:02- If you go through to somebody's like HBO history,
- 40:04I feel like that'd be worse.
- 40:05- Yeah.
- 40:06- It's like softcore, softcore, softcore, softcore.
- 40:08- Oh, we know Shana's.
- 40:09- Softcore.
- 40:11- Softcore Shana.
- 40:12- I like it when I kiss a little bit.

- 40:19- No last time I did that was in a hotel room
- 40:21because it was there.
- 40:22No one else was around and it was really dumb.
- 40:24- No.
- 40:25- And you watched it.
- 40:26- It was a better than Hot Frosty.
- 40:28- No.
- 40:29- No.
- 40:30- Hot Frosty was better.
- 40:31- Okay.
- 40:32- This was a lot of just rubbing thighs.
- 40:34- No.
- 40:35- Anyway, we want to, we want to, on that note,
