- 0:01Speaker 1: Hello, oh boy, I just got to let you know,
- 0:07Speaker 1: do or do not?
- 0:10Speaker 2: There is no true If we did an episode where
- 0:12Speaker 2: I never spoke, I just spoke with the sound machine,
- 0:15Speaker 2: like all of my comments.
- 0:17Speaker 1: I would hate that episode. Really, I would hate that
- 0:19Speaker 1: episode with a passion.
- 0:21Speaker 2: Well, let's just try a quick experiment, like you say, like,
- 0:23Speaker 2: ask me a question.
- 0:24Speaker 1: Was your weekend? Zach?
- 0:28Speaker 3: Mm?
- 0:34Speaker 2: Wait one more, ask me a good question? Wait, hold on,
- 0:36Speaker 2: I gotta get this part set up. Okay, go ahead.
- 0:41Speaker 1: You digging into T mobile commercials that are wait no,
- 0:46Speaker 1: that doesn't make sense.
- 0:47Speaker 2: Yeah, because it's commercial related.
- 0:51Speaker 1: Them. T Mobile commercials are funny.
- 0:53Speaker 2: They're very funny. I know we're biased, but I think
- 0:55Speaker 2: they're funny.
- 0:57Speaker 1: Holy cow, we did it again, guys, we did it again,
- 1:00Speaker 1: playing them a lot. Yeah, they are.
- 1:02Speaker 2: I hope people don't.
- 1:02Speaker 1: Get see too. Please don't don't. Don't run away.
- 1:08Speaker 2: It's not our fault. We don't put them. We're not
- 1:10Speaker 2: the ones who say put it on every single commercial break.
- 1:13Speaker 1: Sorry, but it literally literally literally literal. I'm like Daffy Duck.
- 1:22Speaker 1: It's literally on like all the time.
- 1:25Speaker 2: I know, I know, but I think it's funny. At least,
- 1:28Speaker 2: you know, at least it's not a dumb commercial. It
- 1:30Speaker 2: makes me giggle every time I see it. But again,
- 1:32Speaker 2: I realize I'm biased when you say when you say
- 1:36Speaker 2: the gum was under your seat, Joelle, you've seen it yet.
- 1:40Speaker 4: I haven't seen the newest one yet. No, but I don't.
- 1:43Speaker 4: I don't watch the TV.
- 1:45Speaker 2: You watched Joey Daschanel's commercials.
- 1:48Speaker 1: I have not seen a.
- 1:49Speaker 4: New commercial from her either. I don't. I don't know.
- 1:52Speaker 4: I'm on the streaming. I don't have that ads there.
- 1:54Speaker 2: Oh right, yeah, I mean, in your defense, Joelle, they
- 1:58Speaker 2: mostly play I mean when you see someone who watches
- 2:01Speaker 2: live events, like like sports. And every time I got
- 2:04Speaker 2: one on the SNL, the SNL, the SNL. It was
- 2:09Speaker 2: the first commercial on NBC of the SNL anniversary and
- 2:13Speaker 2: that was that was the first.
- 2:14Speaker 1: Time it was like we were part of the SNL.
- 2:17Speaker 2: In our minds. We got to be a part of Yes,
- 2:19Speaker 2: you know what I mean.
- 2:20Speaker 1: And it came on like every commercial.
- 2:23Speaker 2: Was Eddie Murphy doing Tracy Morgan.
- 2:25Speaker 1: That was hilarious.
- 2:26Speaker 2: That was my favorite part, I think.
- 2:28Speaker 1: No, my favorite part was, uh was Will Farrell and
- 2:31Speaker 1: a guy sty are doing? They not like us, They're
- 2:34Speaker 1: not like.
- 2:38Speaker 2: What about that was the music one though, was not
- 2:43Speaker 2: the music one.
- 2:43Speaker 1: And the other one that was funny was was Sabrina
- 2:48Speaker 1: Carpenter and them doing the wedding the wedding reception, uh
- 2:55Speaker 1: thing with the bride. Yeah, the brides maids and then
- 3:01Speaker 1: Molly Shannon and the mom and and uh and and uh.
- 3:05Speaker 2: What about Eddie doing Scared Straight? That was funny.
- 3:10Speaker 1: That was hilarious too with Will Ferrell. Yeah, Will Ferrell,
- 3:14Speaker 1: you know, he's a he's both of them geez straight
- 3:18Speaker 1: on geez both.
- 3:20Speaker 2: Like the biggest you know, you know, two of the
- 3:23Speaker 2: biggest success stories that came out of U S and O.
- 3:25Speaker 1: Yeah. I'd like to see them do a movie together.
- 3:28Speaker 2: Yeah, me too. I'm sure everyone was thinking, like, finally together,
- 3:31Speaker 2: those guys got to do something. Yea, what's going on, Joelle?
- 3:35Speaker 4: Not much?
- 3:36Speaker 5: Man, Saturday, Get excited for concert season. You have a
- 3:40Speaker 5: big show coming up.
- 3:42Speaker 2: I do a big show coming When is this air?
- 3:43Speaker 2: By the way, because I have an announcement to make,
- 3:45Speaker 2: but I'm worried that I'll be ruining it. Tell me yeah, Mark,
- 3:50Speaker 2: twenty ninth, we have the Big Garden State Concert, all
- 3:53Speaker 2: going to charity for the midnight mission, and Donald Fazon
- 3:56Speaker 2: has agreed to introduce a band with me.
- 4:00Speaker 1: I'm introducing probably ladies and gentlemen.
- 4:03Speaker 2: That's not true. We're probably introduced Carry Brothers because Cary
- 4:06Speaker 2: Brotheres Carry Brothers requested that you and I introduced.
- 4:11Speaker 1: Him Carry Brothers. I just want to sing a song
- 4:16Speaker 1: for you, yea, I remember. Look man, I still don't
- 4:19Speaker 1: think he knows a song. It's Tracy Morgan. I still
- 4:22Speaker 1: believe he doesn't know the song wishing of a wise
- 4:28Speaker 1: man to tell you a lie? What you say after that?
- 4:33Speaker 1: Do wind the broad Tone Spring. That's what it sounds like,
- 4:38Speaker 1: he said, when the broad tonge Spring.
- 4:43Speaker 2: Now, listen, we're gonna be in front of six thousand people.
- 4:46Speaker 2: I need you to hold it together. You can't go rogue.
- 4:49Speaker 2: We don't have Daniel there to be like cut that Daniel.
- 4:54Speaker 1: So I can't say nothing crazy.
- 4:56Speaker 2: Yeah, Joelle, are you coming? You're invited?
- 4:58Speaker 1: You know I did.
- 5:00Speaker 4: I was invited. I would absolutely show up. That sounds amazing.
- 5:03Speaker 2: I think Mark, my assistant, made sure that you had
- 5:06Speaker 2: a seat because Daniel, you would have been invited. But
- 5:08Speaker 2: you don't live here. But Joel, I think Mark has got.
- 5:10Speaker 4: You I'll follow up with Mark.
- 5:12Speaker 1: Then if you would have said to Dan will come through,
- 5:15Speaker 1: I bet you he would have made it.
- 5:16Speaker 2: Well. I don't want to ask, you know, to fly in,
- 5:19Speaker 2: and I don't think I have any more seats anyway.
- 5:21Speaker 2: But Mark was looking out for you, Joelle. Mark was
- 5:24Speaker 2: looking out for you, Joel. I had a woman who
- 5:28Speaker 2: works for Bill's company who I needed her to get
- 5:32Speaker 2: me an answer on something. And she was like, because
- 5:35Speaker 2: the tickets are just all gone. And she's like, i'll
- 5:37Speaker 2: give you that answer like tomorrow if you get me
- 5:39Speaker 2: two tickets from me and my husband's reguards a concert.
- 5:42Speaker 2: And I was kind I was kind of flippantly like, yeah,
- 5:46Speaker 2: I actually I can't plan my spring until you tell
- 5:48Speaker 2: me the dates of X, Y and Z. And she's like,
- 5:50Speaker 2: I'm on it. Literally an hour later, he's like, here's
- 5:52Speaker 2: all the information. It's confirmed, these are the dates. Two
- 5:55Speaker 2: tickets please.
- 5:57Speaker 1: Yep. That's how it goes, that's how it goes in demand.
- 6:01Speaker 1: Brody mcdotie, you got a hot you got a hot ticket.
- 6:06Speaker 1: Wait wait, I can make it. Your concert is a
- 6:08Speaker 1: hot ticket.
- 6:08Speaker 2: I can make a big announcement here, Joelle. If you
- 6:12Speaker 2: tell me when this airs. Oh then guys, you'll have
- 6:18Speaker 2: known this if you really follow us on social media.
- 6:22Speaker 2: But so we did this amazing deal with this company
- 6:27Speaker 2: called Veeps and they shoot the event with ten cameras,
- 6:32Speaker 2: beautiful cranes, drones like steady cam. It's like incredibly shot.
- 6:38Speaker 2: And then a week later, anywhere in the world you
- 6:42Speaker 2: can stream the concert. It's nineteen bucks or so. And
- 6:49Speaker 2: here's the great thing, thanks to our partners at t Mobile,
- 6:52Speaker 2: every single cent of your ticket price goes to the
- 6:56Speaker 2: Midnight Mission, our charity partner for the event. Not amazing, wish, No,
- 7:07Speaker 2: it's so great because there were so many people who
- 7:09Speaker 2: wanted to go, who couldn't go. The venue only see
- 7:11Speaker 2: six thousand people, and there was such incredible interest from
- 7:14Speaker 2: all over the world. And this enables people to see
- 7:18Speaker 2: the show. And then I was really thanks to Team
- 7:20Speaker 2: Mobile for real, like they came through because it's expensive
- 7:23Speaker 2: to shoot it and with ten cameras and a huge crew,
- 7:27Speaker 2: but they are covering all the production costs, which means
- 7:30Speaker 2: that every single cent of your ticket price goes to
- 7:33Speaker 2: the charity.
- 7:34Speaker 1: That's amazing.
- 7:37Speaker 4: What the charity is.
- 7:39Speaker 2: The charity is the Mission, which is for those of
- 7:41Speaker 2: you who don't live in LA. It's like the oldest
- 7:43Speaker 2: mission in downtown LA takes care of anyone with any
- 7:47Speaker 2: needs who are living on the street, whether it be food,
- 7:50Speaker 2: whether a bed, whether it's a drug rehabilitation, mental illness.
- 7:57Speaker 2: They guarantee everyone food and a place to sleep, and
- 8:02Speaker 2: they will take care of you if you are in
- 8:04Speaker 2: need and unhoused in Los Angeles. And now more than ever,
- 8:08Speaker 2: they're helping people with all these fires, people who have
- 8:10Speaker 2: been who have been devastated by the fires and need
- 8:14Speaker 2: need a meal or need a bed. It's just an
- 8:17Speaker 2: incredible organization. They have like one hundred, a rating of
- 8:21Speaker 2: one hundred on Charity Navigator, all those all those sites
- 8:24Speaker 2: that rate charities. They're just incredible. And you know, we
- 8:27Speaker 2: have a real problem with people not having housing in
- 8:33Speaker 2: Los Angeles, so it just felt like the most appropriate
- 8:35Speaker 2: charity to me.
- 8:36Speaker 4: I love that.
- 8:37Speaker 5: That's beautiful, What a great way to share anybody available? Now,
- 8:42Speaker 5: where can people get ticks? Remind them if.
- 8:45Speaker 2: If everyone goes to veeps dot com, v E e
- 8:49Speaker 2: p s dot com, I don't have the and just
- 8:52Speaker 2: search for the Garden State Concert. I'm sure it'll be
- 8:53Speaker 2: up there. But V E E P s dot com
- 8:58Speaker 2: and the show's March twenty ninth. It won't be up
- 9:01Speaker 2: there because we're not streaming it live that we didn't
- 9:04Speaker 2: have the capacity to do. But it'll be up there
- 9:07Speaker 2: as of April sixth, which is my birthday.
- 9:09Speaker 1: Coincidentally, Happy motherfucking birthday. Wait, it's not yet, not yet.
- 9:15Speaker 1: Your birthday's coming soon.
- 9:16Speaker 2: I know. And I don't even think I'm gonna be
- 9:17Speaker 2: able to have a shin dig machine. Ing's gonna have
- 9:20Speaker 2: to be belated or something.
- 9:21Speaker 3: Now.
- 9:21Speaker 1: You're gonna have to shin dig something or another. Brody no, brother,
- 9:24Speaker 1: I got turned fifty.
- 9:25Speaker 2: Once, I know, But I just I'm very blessed to
- 9:28Speaker 2: have a bit of a traffic jam with work, and
- 9:31Speaker 2: I'm so grateful for that. And I don't really see
- 9:33Speaker 2: how I'm going to throw it right now.
- 9:35Speaker 1: You know what, the best thing ever is working on
- 9:38Speaker 1: your birthday. A lot of people poo poo on that shit.
- 9:41Speaker 1: I think that's the best.
- 9:43Speaker 2: Way you have to add the caveat that you love
- 9:46Speaker 2: what you do. A lot of people don't love get
- 9:48Speaker 2: the luxury of loving what they do, so working on
- 9:50Speaker 2: their birthday sucks. But you happen to be someone who
- 9:52Speaker 2: loves your job.
- 9:53Speaker 1: I love to work on my birthday. It means in me,
- 9:56Speaker 1: I like to work on my birthday. And I like
- 9:58Speaker 1: to work around the New Year, you know, I mean
- 10:00Speaker 1: because it sets the year off right, and then it
- 10:03Speaker 1: also sets your trip around the sun. Your next trip
- 10:06Speaker 1: around the Sun is setting it off with a bang.
- 10:09Speaker 2: I've been hanging out with your buddy, Harrison Ford. I
- 10:12Speaker 2: don't like you right now directing Shrinking so good this season.
- 10:16Speaker 1: Mike, I don't like you right now.
- 10:17Speaker 2: For Jessica Williams, she she just brought it the other day.
- 10:21Speaker 2: That cast is so good.
- 10:23Speaker 1: Yeah, it's so talented. The winning awards, finally they're finally winning.
- 10:28Speaker 2: Yeah, Michael Urie won the Critics Choice Award. I'm really
- 10:30Speaker 2: happy for him, and just everyone is on this cast
- 10:33Speaker 2: is so talented. And Jessica had a monologue the other day.
- 10:37Speaker 2: Everyone was just like Jaws on the floor, like fucking hell.
- 10:40Speaker 2: These these people are so talented. I love I love
- 10:42Speaker 2: work on the show. It's so fun.
- 10:44Speaker 4: You got two episodes this season, right.
- 10:46Speaker 2: I'm directing episodes three and four this season.
- 10:49Speaker 1: As Harrison never come to the set with a fedora on.
- 10:52Speaker 1: Do you mean like the Raiders one like Indiana Jones.
- 10:55Speaker 2: Oh no, he wears sort of a bit of a
- 10:58Speaker 2: Fedora esque cat in some scenes when he's giving therapy
- 11:02Speaker 2: on the bench. That's a bit of a of a
- 11:03Speaker 2: running joke on the show. But no, he does never
- 11:07Speaker 2: want an Indiana Jones style hat.
- 11:09Speaker 1: What about a bullwhip? Y'all? Ever put a bullwhip in
- 11:11Speaker 1: his hand? No?
- 11:12Speaker 2: I don't think there's been any scenes where the elderly
- 11:15Speaker 2: psychologist has a bullwhip.
- 11:18Speaker 1: Does he still have that scar on his chin?
- 11:24Speaker 2: Why did it? He has a scarnish chin. I never
- 11:25Speaker 2: noticed it is his gardish chin.
- 11:27Speaker 1: Well, yeah, you know that's a very iconic scar. Is
- 11:30Speaker 1: it still there?
- 11:31Speaker 2: I don't know, Donald I p personally have not.
- 11:34Speaker 1: Does he still point a lot when he's talking to people?
- 11:37Speaker 1: Does he still do the point the point? No, but
- 11:40Speaker 1: he doesn't do the point. No.
- 11:41Speaker 2: But he's very funny and he's very nice, and he
- 11:44Speaker 2: loves working on the show. He you know, he it's
- 11:48Speaker 2: great because he just he's not doing It's not like
- 11:50Speaker 2: he's there like like this is just a job. He
- 11:54Speaker 2: loves it. He loves funny, he loves when he get laughs.
- 11:57Speaker 2: He's just he's just an awesome.
- 11:59Speaker 1: Dude, you know I love him.
- 12:02Speaker 2: Did you end up watching the Red Hulk movie or.
- 12:05Speaker 1: No, I've not seen the Red Hulk. That's exactly what
- 12:07Speaker 1: I hear it is. I hear it's not a Captain America.
- 12:10Speaker 1: It's a Hulk movie.
- 12:11Speaker 2: Yes, oh really?
- 12:14Speaker 4: Oh yeah, okay, yeah, all right.
- 12:18Speaker 1: That's what I'm That's what i'm that's what I'm learning,
- 12:20Speaker 1: which is very interesting. And also, you know, a lot
- 12:23Speaker 1: of people poop pooed on it when it came out,
- 12:26Speaker 1: and then there are a lot of people that are saying,
- 12:28Speaker 1: see it again. It's a lot better the second time,
- 12:31Speaker 1: is what I've heard.
- 12:32Speaker 2: But you haven't been yet once and you love the
- 12:34Speaker 2: Marvel verse.
- 12:36Speaker 1: It just sounds, you know, it just sounds like, Uh,
- 12:42Speaker 1: here's the thing. I want Anthony Mackie to be a
- 12:47Speaker 1: dope Captain America. And if I go to this movie
- 12:50Speaker 1: and he's not a dope Captain America, I'm gonna be
- 12:52Speaker 1: pissed off. Okay, you know what I mean. And that's
- 12:54Speaker 1: just what it is. I think it's a very awesome
- 13:02Speaker 1: mantle to have, you know, or opportunity however you want
- 13:07Speaker 1: to look at it. It's a great it's a great
- 13:09Speaker 1: role to have, and I just don't want them to
- 13:12Speaker 1: do him dirty. Man, Like I personally feel like he
- 13:15Speaker 1: should be just as dope as the Chris Evans version
- 13:18Speaker 1: of Captain America. But you know, the fact that they're
- 13:22Speaker 1: saying that the movie isn't that good or people are
- 13:24Speaker 1: hating on the movie makes me not want to go
- 13:26Speaker 1: see it because I like to believe that Anthony Mackie
- 13:30Speaker 1: is a great Captain America.
- 13:32Speaker 2: All Right, there's Donald's thoughts on it.
- 13:34Speaker 1: That's just me. It has nothing to do that with
- 13:36Speaker 1: him being black one hundred percent, Like maybe seventy five
- 13:40Speaker 1: percent is the reason why I'm saying that, but not
- 13:43Speaker 1: one hundred percent. I also like him as a person.
- 13:45Speaker 2: Got it. I once hung out with Anthony Mackie in
- 13:49Speaker 2: Prince's hotel suite.
- 13:50Speaker 1: See this is what I'm talking about. Why do you
- 13:52Speaker 1: have to trump what I just said? Man? Why'd you
- 13:54Speaker 1: have to go ahead trump? What the fuck I just said?
- 13:57Speaker 2: No, my brain goes like Anthony Mackie, when have I
- 13:59Speaker 2: met him? And I was like, oh, I once had
- 14:01Speaker 2: that random ass night hanging out with him in a
- 14:04Speaker 2: Prince's hotel suite?
- 14:05Speaker 1: Was Prince there?
- 14:06Speaker 2: Tavis Smiley was there. Yeah, Prince was there. It was me, Prince.
- 14:13Speaker 1: America, Captain America.
- 14:16Speaker 2: Oh and also what's his name, the the professor with
- 14:22Speaker 2: the crazy hair, Cornell West. Cornell West. Prince invited us
- 14:27Speaker 2: back to his hotel suite and there was a limousine
- 14:30Speaker 2: there and they said just go with these guys and
- 14:32Speaker 2: I got in. It was me, Tavis Smiley, and Cornell West.
- 14:36Speaker 1: That sounds like a great fucking car ride. No, it
- 14:39Speaker 1: was great.
- 14:39Speaker 2: We had a nice chat and then we went up
- 14:41Speaker 2: to the hotel suite and Prince was kind of coming
- 14:43Speaker 2: in and out of the dining room area, but that's
- 14:45Speaker 2: where he was, like, I think eating or something, and
- 14:47Speaker 2: I just sat in like the living room area with
- 14:50Speaker 2: Cornell West, Tavis Smiley, and Anthony Mackie.
- 14:54Speaker 1: It's a good hangout. That sounds like a lot of fun.
- 14:56Speaker 2: That's a random story I forgot about.
- 14:58Speaker 1: That sounds like a lot of fun.
- 15:01Speaker 2: We have Judy Rays here today everybody, which is so
- 15:04Speaker 2: exciting because we haven't spoken to Judy in a long time.
- 15:06Speaker 1: It's been almost a year.
- 15:09Speaker 2: Or two longer probably right.
- 15:12Speaker 5: No, because we did the no I think at least
- 15:16Speaker 5: two years since she's been on the pod.
- 15:18Speaker 2: Yeah, really we haven't because because because she did, we
- 15:22Speaker 2: didn't have her for the ninth season and uh, and
- 15:26Speaker 2: then we've pivoted to just talking to interesting people, so
- 15:30Speaker 2: we haven't really had her yet. This is our first
- 15:32Speaker 2: moment to grill her about what it was like to
- 15:35Speaker 2: fake make out with you.
- 15:37Speaker 1: Now we talked about that.
- 15:38Speaker 2: Well, I'd like to talk about it again.
- 15:42Speaker 1: I mean we could totally, we could talk about that
- 15:43Speaker 1: all day. See my puppy knocked out on a couch.
- 15:47Speaker 2: It took around a walk this morning, so she's toasted.
- 15:51Speaker 2: I had the funniest, craziest coincidence. We were shooting shrinking
- 15:55Speaker 2: in Griffith Park doing a hiking scene and I got
- 16:01Speaker 2: my dog into this. Uh that's my jersey accident here
- 16:04Speaker 2: that my dog. I got my dog into this, uh
- 16:08Speaker 2: into this guy this dog pack. You know, he walks
- 16:11Speaker 2: dogs in a pack, which is great for them and
- 16:13Speaker 2: gets her exercise. When I'm working, and of all places
- 16:17Speaker 2: in all of Los Angeles, I'm shooting this scene with
- 16:20Speaker 2: Harrison Ford and Jason and other cast members and I
- 16:24Speaker 2: see this big dog pack and my brain goes, oh,
- 16:26Speaker 2: what a cute dog pack. And then I look closer.
- 16:29Speaker 2: I'm like, that's my dog pack and I saw my dog.
- 16:32Speaker 2: Of all places in the world, my dog accidentally visited
- 16:35Speaker 2: me on set.
- 16:35Speaker 1: I love that. Did she come running at you? Did
- 16:38Speaker 1: she come running at you? Yeah?
- 16:39Speaker 2: She like lit up and he was like, hold on,
- 16:41Speaker 2: hold on, let me just get pack this pack of
- 16:43Speaker 2: dogs past his film crew and then then we had cuddles.
- 16:49Speaker 2: It was just so funny. It was like people were like,
- 16:50Speaker 2: did you tell him to bring the dogs where you
- 16:53Speaker 2: were working? I was like, no, there's one hundred percent
- 16:55Speaker 2: of coincidence, and.
- 16:56Speaker 1: Griffith get the dogs in the show.
- 17:00Speaker 2: That's such a good idea. I didn't even think of
- 17:01Speaker 2: I think that. I think that he was like, you know,
- 17:04Speaker 2: he's on a mission, he's got he's on a schedule.
- 17:06Speaker 2: He couldn't be like stop and wait to be.
- 17:08Speaker 1: Like just be distracted twice.
- 17:11Speaker 2: It would have been distracting though, if like, you know,
- 17:13Speaker 2: the dialogue and all of a sudden you see a
- 17:14Speaker 2: big ass pack of dogs going by.
- 17:16Speaker 1: No doubt, I hear Neil Flynn is on shrinking.
- 17:21Speaker 2: Yeah, you know that if you watch the show.
- 17:24Speaker 1: Never watched an episode except for yours.
- 17:26Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't think you've even Oh you watched the
- 17:28Speaker 2: one I showed you on an iPhone in the parking lot.
- 17:31Speaker 1: I did.
- 17:32Speaker 2: God, if I could ask Jesus for one of many
- 17:35Speaker 2: things God, you know yahweh.
- 17:39Speaker 1: Really you would ask that? Not world peace or no.
- 17:43Speaker 2: I'm doing a bit, but I really wish that I
- 17:45Speaker 2: could convince you to watch things like I get so
- 17:49Speaker 2: excited and I go, oh, Donald would love this, And
- 17:51Speaker 2: I just have no chance of you getting to watch it.
- 17:54Speaker 2: The only person I can get to watch anything in
- 17:56Speaker 2: your household is Casey because I watched watches.
- 17:59Speaker 1: She watches a lot of your request. She watched that
- 18:01Speaker 1: damn documentary. I mean it's it's not a damned documentary.
- 18:04Speaker 1: It's a very sad document.
- 18:05Speaker 2: The saddest thing I've ever seen. Did she just watch it?
- 18:08Speaker 1: Well, we watched. It's very disturbing. Man, it's very I'm
- 18:11Speaker 1: talking about Gabby Patito. Yes, it is very watch it. Yeah,
- 18:15Speaker 1: the first episode. It's very, very, very upsetting.
- 18:18Speaker 2: It's the saddest thing I've ever seen. It's so it's
- 18:22Speaker 2: the number one thing on Netflix. I don't know if
- 18:24Speaker 2: it'll be when this airs, but audience, I warn you
- 18:26Speaker 2: it's very upsetting. But it's it's a story of Gabby Patito,
- 18:30Speaker 2: who who was murdered by her boyfriend, And what's so
- 18:35Speaker 2: insane about it is because she was aspiring to be
- 18:37Speaker 2: a YouTuber. There's so much footage of them because she
- 18:40Speaker 2: was shooting their whole van life, and it's just absolutely
- 18:46Speaker 2: upsetting from a domestic violence point of view. But I
- 18:49Speaker 2: did think it was a really useful to highlight for
- 18:53Speaker 2: people and who don't know and for and for maybe
- 18:57Speaker 2: some police officers will now have a new perspective on
- 19:01Speaker 2: trying to spot domistic violence, because I don't know that
- 19:03Speaker 2: the cops that encountered them handled it.
- 19:07Speaker 3: The thing to.
- 19:07Speaker 5: Remember about abuse victims is like you're essentially you're love bombed,
- 19:13Speaker 5: You're emotionally manipulated. You're to some extent brainwashed by your
- 19:19Speaker 5: partner and also often dependent upon them. Oftentimes are be
- 19:25Speaker 5: more violent if you try to fresh charges or escape.
- 19:29Speaker 5: I think women are like six times more likely to
- 19:31Speaker 5: be attacked after they file for a restraining order. There's
- 19:34Speaker 5: not a lot of good answers in our system isn't
- 19:36Speaker 5: set up to actually help these people, And it's I.
- 19:41Speaker 2: Don't know that those cops. I don't know. Again, I
- 19:43Speaker 2: don't I'm not an expert. I don't know that the
- 19:45Speaker 2: cops handled it wrong. I just know that if they
- 19:48Speaker 2: had handled it right, she'd probably be alive.
- 19:51Speaker 1: Yeah, anyway, let's get happened.
- 19:53Speaker 2: Let's get happen. But I do think that the doc
- 19:56Speaker 2: is worth your time, everybody. It's really really well done
- 19:59Speaker 2: and and informative about this horrible issue. And then the
- 20:04Speaker 2: last thing I'll say is The Pit remains the best
- 20:06Speaker 2: show ever. You need to watch it.
- 20:09Speaker 1: It got renewed, didn't it. Yeah?
- 20:11Speaker 4: Thank god.
- 20:13Speaker 2: They shoot it on the Warner Brothers lot. I'm fixing
- 20:15Speaker 2: to get a tour of that set.
- 20:16Speaker 4: Yeah, Zach get it. You got a direct an episode.
- 20:20Speaker 2: I don't know I get an episode, but I got
- 20:21Speaker 2: some ends to get a tour the huge set they
- 20:24Speaker 2: built over that er. I saw a picture of Randall.
- 20:28Speaker 2: What's up?
- 20:29Speaker 1: I want to.
- 20:30Speaker 5: Pictures of the leg up close, the prosthetic one that exploded.
- 20:34Speaker 2: Mayby's showing me pictures of it and Randall Winston, our
- 20:36Speaker 2: friend was on the set, And why is Randall get
- 20:38Speaker 2: a tour? They were like, oh, he wanted to see
- 20:40Speaker 2: it too. I was like, I need a tour.
- 20:42Speaker 4: Oh, rand It's huge.
- 20:44Speaker 2: It's like the size of the whole sound stage. Wow,
- 20:47Speaker 2: all right, is Judy here?
- 20:48Speaker 1: Yes, bringing June.
- 20:55Speaker 2: We made about a bunch of n.
- 21:02Speaker 1: He's a stormy so here here?
- 21:24Speaker 2: What?
- 21:26Speaker 1: Yes, we can hear you headphones?
- 21:29Speaker 2: Do you have earphones?
- 21:30Speaker 3: I do?
- 21:31Speaker 2: Oh good, good? You look even more beautiful than.
- 21:34Speaker 3: I am instructions. He took the best lighting in the house.
- 21:40Speaker 2: You look incredible. And are you wearing a Panavision shirt?
- 21:45Speaker 3: Oh?
- 21:45Speaker 2: Yeah, you know, I'm very loyal to my friends at Panavision.
- 21:49Speaker 2: What is that from?
- 21:49Speaker 3: Oh well, you know why I'm wearing it, though you
- 21:51Speaker 3: see the bad Can you read it? Gechies, It's a strip.
- 22:00Speaker 1: Called She's I Do Love? I Do love The days
- 22:04Speaker 1: of the strip club. I haven't been to one in
- 22:06Speaker 1: a very very very very very very very very very
- 22:10Speaker 1: very very very long that's.
- 22:11Speaker 2: Too many very that's too many varies to be true.
- 22:14Speaker 3: That's an excess number of varies.
- 22:17Speaker 1: I was doing it in years. Every very just represented
- 22:19Speaker 1: the years that it's been since I've been to one.
- 22:22Speaker 3: Have you played a character who visits a strip club,
- 22:25Speaker 3: because then you can get one of get rid of
- 22:26Speaker 3: one of those varies.
- 22:28Speaker 1: No, not, not in a very long time. Uh, it's
- 22:32Speaker 1: it's and I've been to Vegas a few times recently too,
- 22:35Speaker 1: But now, no, no, Judy, it's so.
- 22:37Speaker 2: Good to see you. I've missed you.
- 22:39Speaker 3: So much to see you. It's good to see you. Guys.
- 22:44Speaker 2: We're still doing this podcast. If you can believe it,
- 22:47Speaker 2: I can.
- 22:47Speaker 3: I can believe it. And I'm so thrilled you've gone
- 22:50Speaker 3: just beyond talking about the show and just being your
- 22:53Speaker 3: fabulous selves.
- 22:54Speaker 2: And we like talking to you on the show.
- 22:57Speaker 3: That's how long has that been going on? Is that new?
- 23:00Speaker 2: Well?
- 23:00Speaker 1: Almost all?
- 23:01Speaker 2: How long is about a year?
- 23:04Speaker 3: You guys are like, you know, I see you all
- 23:06Speaker 3: the time during sports events on your T mobile commercials
- 23:11Speaker 3: like I see you are are your trailer for a
- 23:14Speaker 3: movie you did with de Niro?
- 23:16Speaker 2: Right, I did a movie. Oh I should plug that,
- 23:18Speaker 2: Thank you. Judy's be called the Comeback Trail and everyone
- 23:22Speaker 2: it's on wherever you buy movies. It's on Apple and
- 23:25Speaker 2: Amazon and anyplace Elsie buy movies. It's de Niro, Morgan Freeman,
- 23:30Speaker 2: Tommy Lee, Jones, and Zach Brass.
- 23:33Speaker 3: So nobody really big or famous.
- 23:35Speaker 2: It's really fun guys.
- 23:38Speaker 1: Hsh Hirsh and Emeal Hirsh too.
- 23:40Speaker 2: And there's lots of funny people and it's great. It's
- 23:42Speaker 2: very silly. It's uh, it's it's written by the guy
- 23:45Speaker 2: who wrote Midnight Run, so it's very funny.
- 23:48Speaker 3: Love Midnight Run too.
- 23:49Speaker 1: I do love me some Midnight Run. That was a
- 23:52Speaker 1: really well made moment.
- 23:53Speaker 3: That's something that introduced my kid to my kid.
- 23:55Speaker 2: You know, how is your kid doing? You have such
- 23:58Speaker 2: a very adorable child.
- 24:00Speaker 3: My kid is fifteen. Oh can you believe that my
- 24:05Speaker 3: kid is fifteen?
- 24:07Speaker 1: Wow?
- 24:08Speaker 3: Yeah, And they're on their way. They're going to meet
- 24:10Speaker 3: a friend at the Science Museum today. But my kid
- 24:14Speaker 3: is an artist as well. Guys, they're into musical theater.
- 24:18Speaker 2: Do you.
- 24:20Speaker 1: Buddy? Here we go? Oh have you been auditions? Have
- 24:24Speaker 1: you been going to auditions and stuff?
- 24:26Speaker 3: No? But they did do their first film. They did
- 24:29Speaker 3: a small part of a film, like a period eighties film.
- 24:32Speaker 3: I can't even remember the name of it, where they
- 24:34Speaker 3: played that. They just played this this kid who was
- 24:37Speaker 3: playing Space Invaders the whole time in a roller rink,
- 24:42Speaker 3: so like the kids would come through. Are you vaping?
- 24:45Speaker 4: No?
- 24:45Speaker 2: No, I never thought.
- 24:50Speaker 3: I haven't mad in a very very very very very
- 24:53Speaker 3: very very long Did.
- 24:54Speaker 2: You give up goan jump? No? I did, because Donald did.
- 24:59Speaker 1: I I did, I haven't smoked weed, and I haven't
- 25:02Speaker 1: smoked weed in like, uh since Nobil.
- 25:05Speaker 3: You haven't been And no, no, no.
- 25:07Speaker 1: No, no, I just was. I was just done with it.
- 25:10Speaker 1: I was doing it every five minutes, and I developed
- 25:13Speaker 1: this little cough and everything like that, and I was like,
- 25:17Speaker 1: I don't want to smoke weed anymore. Like I was.
- 25:21Speaker 1: It was bad, like it was bad, like you know,
- 25:23Speaker 1: it was a type of habit where I was always
- 25:26Speaker 1: at the ATM machine. I was always at the freaking dispensary.
- 25:30Speaker 1: I was always, you know, I was. I graduated. I
- 25:33Speaker 1: wasn't smoking joints or blunts anymore. I graduated to the
- 25:37Speaker 1: bong because I felt like you could get higher with
- 25:40Speaker 1: the bong. I was buying all types of wax and
- 25:43Speaker 1: all types of freaking uh you know. I was dabbing
- 25:46Speaker 1: all of that ship trying to reach a level that
- 25:50Speaker 1: you know, you couldn't reach, that I couldn't reach.
- 25:52Speaker 3: And I was like, you can only reach with meditation.
- 25:55Speaker 1: Well I don't know about the meditation part, but uh,
- 25:59Speaker 1: I just and then what sucks is once I quit,
- 26:03Speaker 1: that was the worst part. After I quit, then all
- 26:06Speaker 1: of a sudden, the anxiety kicked in, and uh, you know,
- 26:10Speaker 1: I went on this this uh this there's something wrong
- 26:14Speaker 1: with me? Run where I got every test I could
- 26:17Speaker 1: possibly get, blood tests, et cetera, et cetera, to find
- 26:20Speaker 1: out if I was dying or not, because it had
- 26:22Speaker 1: to be something. Yeah, dude, I get.
- 26:25Speaker 2: I mean, he had such withdrawal symptoms that then he
- 26:28Speaker 2: then start you know, because he had been smoking so much,
- 26:31Speaker 2: and so he definitely went through withdrawal, and because he's
- 26:34Speaker 2: a bit of a hypochondriach, he assumed those withdrawal symptoms
- 26:37Speaker 2: meant he was dying.
- 26:39Speaker 1: And so every blood test, I got a colonoscopy, I
- 26:43Speaker 1: got an endoscopy, I got all of these things.
- 26:46Speaker 2: All the scopies.
- 26:47Speaker 1: Yeah, all the scopies you get.
- 26:49Speaker 3: You got to get all those scopies after fifty anyway.
- 26:51Speaker 1: Well that's true, But how's your all good? My rectum's good,
- 26:56Speaker 1: my my chest and all of that stuff is good.
- 27:00Speaker 2: I'm cleaned out to Will's covering her.
- 27:02Speaker 1: You cleaned out.
- 27:04Speaker 3: You don't do the smoking. Do you do drinking? Do
- 27:07Speaker 3: you drink?
- 27:08Speaker 1: That's the one thing that has fallen back into play,
- 27:11Speaker 1: and that's more dangerous than smoking.
- 27:13Speaker 2: But I thought you said you were just drinking once
- 27:17Speaker 2: in a while, like on an occasion.
- 27:18Speaker 1: Yeah, well once in a while on occasion. It's turned
- 27:21Speaker 1: into quite a bit right now, stupid? Come on, come on,
- 27:24Speaker 1: it is a little stupid. But I made a pack
- 27:27Speaker 1: with myself. I said, you know what, February today's the
- 27:31Speaker 1: twenty second of twenty twenty six is the next time
- 27:37Speaker 1: I'll uh, I'll you smoke. No, I'll drink. I'll have
- 27:42Speaker 1: a drink.
- 27:43Speaker 2: Wait, you're gonna go for a year? You just committed
- 27:45Speaker 2: to do a year?
- 27:46Speaker 1: Yeah? Because now, no, not just now. I did that.
- 27:49Speaker 1: I did it earlier after waking up hungover, and I
- 27:53Speaker 1: was like, yo, you know what, this is stupid? What
- 27:54Speaker 1: am I doing? I mean, just want one vice to
- 27:57Speaker 1: pick up another.
- 27:58Speaker 2: I want to support you. But you can bite off
- 28:00Speaker 2: a smaller chunk. You can say, I'm gonna do six months.
- 28:03Speaker 1: Okay, how about well let's do one month? Too much?
- 28:07Speaker 3: How often do you drink? Donald? Is it an every
- 28:09Speaker 3: day thing?
- 28:10Speaker 1: No, it's not every day, but it's enough to where
- 28:12Speaker 1: it's like, you know, it got to a point where
- 28:15Speaker 1: it was like, wait a second, you had to drink
- 28:17Speaker 1: three days ago. Man, you don't need to fucking.
- 28:19Speaker 2: But also that hangover.
- 28:23Speaker 1: It sucks ass man, Like my face is all swollen,
- 28:26Speaker 1: my hands are swollen, all of that stuff. I was like,
- 28:29Speaker 1: I'm and then also and also, you know I'm a hypochondriac,
- 28:32Speaker 1: So immediately I'm like diabetes.
- 28:36Speaker 3: I'm dying. I'm dying.
- 28:37Speaker 1: I'm dying.
- 28:39Speaker 3: You gotta drink vodka because there's no sugar in vodka.
- 28:42Speaker 1: I don't want to drink it. All.
- 28:43Speaker 2: We're trying to we're trying to be healthy around here.
- 28:46Speaker 2: It's so too We're trying to live as long as
- 28:49Speaker 2: we can. That's our new goal.
- 28:51Speaker 3: I just had I got a hip replacement seven weeks ago.
- 28:55Speaker 1: How do you feel?
- 28:56Speaker 3: I feel good today. You know, I have a little bit.
- 28:59Speaker 3: I had one four years ago. I had my right
- 29:02Speaker 3: hip replace and now because I have r C arthritis,
- 29:05Speaker 3: so I had to get this one done. And I
- 29:09Speaker 3: don't know if it's because I don't remember how much
- 29:10Speaker 3: that should hurt. But my recovery is taking longer. But
- 29:15Speaker 3: what do you do?
- 29:16Speaker 2: What's the recovery? You have to do PT and stuff
- 29:18Speaker 2: you have to do PT.
- 29:19Speaker 3: I just started PT this week. So you know, they
- 29:22Speaker 3: move your leg around, you have to massage the wound.
- 29:25Speaker 3: Then you got to get stronger. And at this age
- 29:28Speaker 3: you literally see like one leg is like hanging when
- 29:31Speaker 3: the other one is stronger because the muscles aren't working.
- 29:34Speaker 3: But all that to say that I started doing edibles
- 29:38Speaker 3: and sleep CBD because the oxy was scaring the shit
- 29:43Speaker 3: out of me.
- 29:44Speaker 1: Oh so I was.
- 29:45Speaker 3: I was doing the edibles.
- 29:49Speaker 2: For your hip replacement after.
- 29:51Speaker 3: It's so bad. It's true, like the first two three
- 29:55Speaker 3: it's really small milligrams. And I got out of the
- 29:59Speaker 3: hospital the day after the fires, and then when I
- 30:02Speaker 3: try to go to the pharmacy, there's like a shortage
- 30:05Speaker 3: of oxy and all the pharmacies in town and ship.
- 30:09Speaker 2: I'm so scared of that ship. I don't even want
- 30:11Speaker 2: to they're trying to want to take it once.
- 30:13Speaker 1: They're trying to get you.
- 30:15Speaker 2: Know, they're very they're they're way more, uh, they prescribe
- 30:18Speaker 2: it way less these days. But I'm afraid that I
- 30:21Speaker 2: would just fucking love it and be like, oh no, there's.
- 30:24Speaker 3: No way not to love it. There's no way not
- 30:26Speaker 3: to love it. And that is the problem, you know,
- 30:28Speaker 3: like you want to you just the world is a
- 30:30Speaker 3: better place than then you take one of the pills.
- 30:33Speaker 2: That's what it helps with the pain. How did you
- 30:36Speaker 2: You had to You had to moderate yourself to not
- 30:39Speaker 2: I had.
- 30:39Speaker 3: To moderate myself. I refilled it. Uh. One time I
- 30:46Speaker 3: was doing okay with the pain, and that's when I
- 30:48Speaker 3: started to get get the CBD edibles because I didn't
- 30:50Speaker 3: want I couldn't go to sleep unless I took an
- 30:52Speaker 3: oxy because because the pain and the discomfort is really bad.
- 30:58Speaker 3: Once because for me, I had to put myself in
- 31:01Speaker 3: like a position. But of course I'm menopausal. When I
- 31:04Speaker 3: pee every five minutes, so the second I go to
- 31:06Speaker 3: the bathroom in the middle of the night, then it's
- 31:08Speaker 3: a whole procedure to get back in bed in a
- 31:11Speaker 3: position where it doesn't hurt.
- 31:13Speaker 2: One of the menopausal things is that you peel up.
- 31:18Speaker 3: Well, your bladder is not as strong, so you just do.
- 31:22Speaker 2: You all see the video of this this African American
- 31:26Speaker 2: woman having a hot flash outside where the where the smoke.
- 31:29Speaker 1: Steam is coming off her head.
- 31:30Speaker 2: Yes, yeah, that was amazing. Yeah, and they said that
- 31:34Speaker 2: she was having a menopausal hot flash.
- 31:36Speaker 3: Yes, it's bad between night sweats and hot flashes. I'm
- 31:40Speaker 3: on set. I literally have to like we're I'm doing
- 31:43Speaker 3: a take and I'm like hold on a second, yeah,
- 31:46Speaker 3: and hear and Mackham runs over with Frans, just how
- 31:49Speaker 3: long does it last?
- 31:50Speaker 2: How long does the hot flash last?
- 31:51Speaker 3: It feels at least sixty seconds because it feels like
- 31:55Speaker 3: you know when you watch water boil, It boils it
- 31:58Speaker 3: and it's boiling and then then you turn it off
- 32:01Speaker 3: and it goes back down. That's exactly what it's like.
- 32:03Speaker 2: I remember Aloma saying while we were shooting. She was
- 32:06Speaker 2: like something about I'm going through the changes or.
- 32:08Speaker 3: Something, oh the change. Back when, back when you couldn't
- 32:11Speaker 3: call it by its name, right, you.
- 32:12Speaker 2: Couldn't see me. They say, I'm going through the change
- 32:17Speaker 2: or the change, change, I'm going to change.
- 32:20Speaker 1: I feel like I remember doing I remember Whoopy.
- 32:24Speaker 2: Goldberg going through the change.
- 32:26Speaker 1: Oh my gosh when we were doing this movie, and
- 32:29Speaker 1: she was like, you don't understand. You have no idea,
- 32:32Speaker 1: You just don't get it. Like the heat that comes
- 32:35Speaker 1: over you is like you take your jacket off in
- 32:39Speaker 1: the dead of winter. Fuck it, it's zero is zero
- 32:44Speaker 1: degrees outside. I want to.
- 32:46Speaker 3: Sleep with sweatpants. Now, I'm like a tank top and
- 32:48Speaker 3: my underwear or shorts because eventually I'm like freezing and
- 32:53Speaker 3: then in the middle of the nights like that, I'm
- 32:57Speaker 3: dripping and then you dry and then you're freezing again.
- 33:00Speaker 2: And then it's all Donald, what are you sleeping? What
- 33:03Speaker 2: are you sleeping?
- 33:04Speaker 1: Sleep in suit? No, but but you when you said
- 33:07Speaker 1: you sleep in your tank top and panties, A visuals
- 33:10Speaker 1: just came over, just.
- 33:13Speaker 2: Judy saying that panties.
- 33:17Speaker 3: How does it feel? Is it sexy? When I say
- 33:19Speaker 3: the change?
- 33:20Speaker 2: No, you were talking about the change.
- 33:24Speaker 1: You were talking about the change.
- 33:25Speaker 2: So I'm surprised that when you said panties, I had
- 33:28Speaker 2: a shift because I was not prepared. I was not
- 33:35Speaker 2: thinking about the change anymore. Men men go through like
- 33:41Speaker 2: me don't have a manno pause.
- 33:43Speaker 1: Yes you do when you look man, do you know
- 33:45Speaker 1: how many times I go to the bathroom and pee
- 33:47Speaker 1: at night?
- 33:47Speaker 3: Now?
- 33:47Speaker 2: But that's been going on for a while.
- 33:49Speaker 1: No, but it's it's also because of age and stuff
- 33:52Speaker 1: like that. I don't get that. It's no, you don't
- 33:55Speaker 1: go you have like a libido.
- 33:56Speaker 3: There's no way that you guys can play through anything.
- 34:00Speaker 2: Mother than most men other than Donald, like have a
- 34:04Speaker 2: decrease in libido.
- 34:08Speaker 1: I mean it's not as much as it used to be.
- 34:11Speaker 2: I mean, Donald is an outlier. I still still and
- 34:20Speaker 2: be like most men like along the line, and then
- 34:22Speaker 2: Donald would be like way outside the graph.
- 34:24Speaker 1: I still do have a very high libido.
- 34:28Speaker 2: He never went through that change.
- 34:30Speaker 1: No, which is which is unfortunate for for Casey. For
- 34:35Speaker 1: my wife, how does she deal with We've come to
- 34:42Speaker 1: an agreement that you know, I'm very respectful of her
- 34:48Speaker 1: uh of her period, and so I am not. We
- 34:52Speaker 1: had a couple of therapists on our podcast and we
- 34:58Speaker 1: used ourselves as guinea pigs.
- 35:01Speaker 3: That's balls.
- 35:03Speaker 2: Yeah, they're very they're very open.
- 35:05Speaker 1: Yeah, and so I I am very aware of her feelings.
- 35:11Speaker 1: And it's also so much better when she really wants
- 35:14Speaker 1: to than when I want to. And so you know,
- 35:18Speaker 1: I find myself masturbating a lot, but I do wait
- 35:22Speaker 1: for when she's ready to go. I'm very excited about
- 35:27Speaker 1: it and and and it's and it and granted it's
- 35:31Speaker 1: not it's not as much as I'd like, but I
- 35:35Speaker 1: don't give a ship. I love my wife and if
- 35:36Speaker 1: it makes her happy, then are.
- 35:38Speaker 2: There any rules about when you can masturbate?
- 35:41Speaker 1: No, I can masturbate whenever. I mean I don't want
- 35:43Speaker 1: to do it when the kids are up no.
- 35:47Speaker 3: My friend, a friend of mine, told me that, do
- 35:50Speaker 3: you masturbate next to her in bed?
- 35:52Speaker 1: Nah, that's fucked up. I won't do that.
- 35:54Speaker 2: My friend told me that his wife and he have
- 35:56Speaker 2: a rule that he can't masturbate when she's home.
- 36:00Speaker 1: Nah. I'll be sometimes I'll be like, babe, do you
- 36:05Speaker 1: wanna have sex? And she'll say no, and I'll be like, well,
- 36:08Speaker 1: I'm gonna go practice real quick, and she's.
- 36:15Speaker 3: Like, I'll be Really, my husband's a really early riser,
- 36:18Speaker 3: like I'm talking because he does a lot of work
- 36:20Speaker 3: in Europe, so he's up like three thirty four in
- 36:22Speaker 3: the morning. So our sex life and with our age
- 36:27Speaker 3: has gone like from almost every day to just like
- 36:30Speaker 3: once a weekend, but it's always at three thirty four
- 36:34Speaker 3: in the fucking morning.
- 36:35Speaker 1: Really, that's tough. That's that's tough.
- 36:37Speaker 3: But we've gotten into that routine now. So like he
- 36:40Speaker 3: wakes me up and I'm like, just give me in
- 36:41Speaker 3: another half an hour, but something just turn over. It's like,
- 36:45Speaker 3: don't wake me up, I turn over, give it to him.
- 36:50Speaker 2: That's so funny.
- 36:53Speaker 1: I hear that. I hear that.
- 36:57Speaker 3: Well.
- 36:57Speaker 2: Sometimes when I'm spooning my body pillow, I just give
- 37:02Speaker 2: it to it whatever I want.
- 37:03Speaker 3: It all right, and it doesn't complain.
- 37:06Speaker 2: No, it loves it. It seems to love it no
- 37:07Speaker 2: matter whenever I'm ready. That's a line from Scrubs, wasn't
- 37:13Speaker 2: it like? As I as I lie there with my
- 37:16Speaker 2: with my body pillow Katya.
- 37:20Speaker 3: You guys like you remember everything from that show? Well
- 37:24Speaker 3: a menopause monopauseal brain that I don't remember. I remember
- 37:28Speaker 3: when I watch it, but like the stuff that we
- 37:31Speaker 3: did and all the stuff how we hung out, I'm like,
- 37:34Speaker 3: it's slipping my mind.
- 37:36Speaker 1: I know.
- 37:36Speaker 2: Well, we just we have the benefit of just having
- 37:38Speaker 2: rewatched it, so we remember a ton of it.
- 37:40Speaker 1: You know, I wouldn't even after rewatching it. I don't
- 37:43Speaker 1: remember a lot of it. Like we could rewatch it again.
- 37:45Speaker 1: I'm like, I don't remember this episode. Let's take a break.
- 37:48Speaker 2: We'll be right back after these fine words. Judy, we
- 37:58Speaker 2: got to talk about your show because I just watched
- 38:01Speaker 2: the trailer. I haven't seen the show yet, but it
- 38:03Speaker 2: looked fucking amazing.
- 38:05Speaker 3: It's really good, it's really fun. It's on ABC, the
- 38:09Speaker 3: number one show on ABC.
- 38:10Speaker 2: It's the not let me let me blow you up
- 38:12Speaker 2: real quick, the number one show on ABC is a
- 38:15Speaker 2: crime drama. I think it's a drama d right it
- 38:18Speaker 2: has Yeah, yeah, it's called High Potential and uh with
- 38:22Speaker 2: Caitlyn Olsen, who's just really really funny. Tell everyone who
- 38:27Speaker 2: who doesn't know about it yet about you.
- 38:30Speaker 3: I play Lieutenant Sodo. I'm the person in charge of
- 38:34Speaker 3: all our police officers. And I hired Caitlyn's character Morgan
- 38:39Speaker 3: because she she's what they call a high potential intellectual.
- 38:42Speaker 3: She's just ultra smart and her brain moves at a
- 38:46Speaker 3: speed at a rate that most people don't, you know,
- 38:49Speaker 3: and that's an actual thing.
- 38:51Speaker 2: Yes, she's got IQ of one sixty right, Yes, And.
- 38:54Speaker 3: It's based on a French series that has been a
- 38:56Speaker 3: huge hit for seven years and just adapted it and
- 39:01Speaker 3: make it, made it our own, and it's the response
- 39:04Speaker 3: to it has been amazing. Like our biggest fans I
- 39:08Speaker 3: find are either fifteen or like fifty, you know, so
- 39:12Speaker 3: there's like little kids and older women. My sister who's
- 39:15Speaker 3: sixty two, fucking loves it. I was watching it, never
- 39:18Speaker 3: cared about anything.
- 39:19Speaker 2: I was watching the trailer and it's so cool. I
- 39:21Speaker 2: love how much style it has, Like it really has
- 39:24Speaker 2: a lot of style, a lot of style to it.
- 39:26Speaker 2: It wasn't just like a procedural kind of thing. It
- 39:28Speaker 2: was like when she starts going into how she thinks
- 39:31Speaker 2: the crime happened, because she's like this genius. You see
- 39:34Speaker 2: all the different ways they flashed, all the different ways
- 39:37Speaker 2: that it could have gone down, and I was really
- 39:40Speaker 2: well directed, really lots of cool style to the way
- 39:43Speaker 2: it shot.
- 39:44Speaker 3: She's she is, and then when you see what's going
- 39:48Speaker 3: on in her head when she's trying to put the
- 39:49Speaker 3: crime together. They call it Morgan visions. So it's like
- 39:52Speaker 3: a series of points of view that gives them a
- 39:57Speaker 3: really good chance to like mess with filmmaking.
- 39:59Speaker 2: And yeah, reminded me of Scrubs solely in that the
- 40:03Speaker 2: camera got to be a character in the show, which
- 40:07Speaker 2: is my favorite kind of thing. You know, I'm directing
- 40:10Speaker 2: Shrinking right now, which is so fun, but you know,
- 40:12Speaker 2: it's way more subdued camera than that, and so we
- 40:15Speaker 2: have to have to pick my moments for any bit
- 40:17Speaker 2: of flair. But in Scrubs and in High Potential, you know,
- 40:20Speaker 2: the camera is just as much a character. So there's
- 40:22Speaker 2: all these really cool camera moves and stylistic choices the
- 40:26Speaker 2: directors must have, so much fun.
- 40:27Speaker 3: Actually do they have a lot of fun A really
- 40:29Speaker 3: really strong, experienced people, really bold. Caitlin is an awesome leader,
- 40:35Speaker 3: really really funny. She's yeah, and a terrific actor as well,
- 40:42Speaker 3: you know, besides being funny, what a talented actor. And
- 40:44Speaker 3: she's got a great opportunity to exploit those both things.
- 40:47Speaker 2: Where do you which slot do you shoot it?
- 40:49Speaker 3: On?
- 40:50Speaker 1: Fox?
- 40:51Speaker 2: On Fox?
- 40:52Speaker 3: Okay, So the first time I've actually worked in LA
- 40:55Speaker 3: on a show besides like a guest star since Scrubs.
- 40:59Speaker 2: Really because you because everything's out of town.
- 41:01Speaker 3: Everything close.
- 41:02Speaker 1: Where was that was Atlanta? Huh?
- 41:04Speaker 3: No, clause was New Orleans. DS Maids was Atlanta, and
- 41:08Speaker 3: I don't remember what was in Vancouver. But that was
- 41:10Speaker 3: a pilot that I was.
- 41:12Speaker 1: I was going to ask you what it's like to
- 41:13Speaker 1: be on network television again, but you never really got
- 41:16Speaker 1: off of network television. You've been on network.
- 41:18Speaker 2: Televisking the wrong person. Judy's always television.
- 41:21Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, what was it like? First of all,
- 41:24Speaker 3: DVS Maids was Lifetime, right, but it's the pilot was
- 41:28Speaker 3: on ABC and then they sold it to Lifetime and
- 41:30Speaker 3: the clause was T and T.
- 41:32Speaker 1: Well, those are both network televisions though, that's it, you know,
- 41:36Speaker 1: a cable. Yeah, but okay, but now you're back on
- 41:39Speaker 1: Now you're back. You're doing twenty two?
- 41:41Speaker 2: How many episodes it?
- 41:43Speaker 3: This one was thirteen? Yeah, thirteen, and we got picked up,
- 41:46Speaker 3: so we'll probably be back for thirteen again.
- 41:48Speaker 1: Are you just going to do thirteen? You're not going
- 41:49Speaker 1: to jump to the twenty two episode?
- 41:51Speaker 2: Does anyone.
- 41:53Speaker 3: Network? I think the most they do is sixteen.
- 41:56Speaker 1: They don't do no ABBO, I don't know. ABBOD does
- 41:58Speaker 1: way more than that. I'm sure Abbit.
- 42:01Speaker 2: I don't know. Joell can look it up for me.
- 42:02Speaker 2: I feel like because of all the different things that
- 42:05Speaker 2: have happened in our society strikes and COVID, they may
- 42:08Speaker 2: have had like abbreviated seasons, but I think they might
- 42:11Speaker 2: have like one.
- 42:12Speaker 1: And I that like Lopezy Lopez or or what's the
- 42:16Speaker 1: other one?
- 42:17Speaker 2: Well, sitcoms they're probably doing twenty How.
- 42:18Speaker 3: About sitcoms on broadcast TV?
- 42:22Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 42:23Speaker 3: Right?
- 42:24Speaker 4: Season two of ABBOTT had twenty two episodes.
- 42:28Speaker 3: There you go look at that, like us, right, what
- 42:30Speaker 3: did we do with twenty two? Four?
- 42:32Speaker 1: The most we ever did was like twenty four? Yeah,
- 42:36Speaker 1: I mean, I'm not gonna lie. I would love to
- 42:37Speaker 1: I would love to do that. I just feel like
- 42:42Speaker 1: if we ever did a twenty if I ever did
- 42:44Speaker 1: a twenty two episode season, I don't think I'd ever
- 42:48Speaker 1: see my kids. I don't think i'd ever seen my wife.
- 42:51Speaker 3: It's different now, isn't it.
- 42:53Speaker 1: Yeah, it's a lot different. You know, I want that money.
- 42:56Speaker 1: Everybody wants that money, but don't nobody want that time?
- 42:58Speaker 3: That time is like, but it also depends on what
- 43:03Speaker 3: is it a half hour? If there's a big cast,
- 43:06Speaker 3: you won't necessarily work every single day, and if you're
- 43:09Speaker 3: home because that's what I That's what I was like
- 43:11Speaker 3: manifesting in my meditation, and shit, you just want to
- 43:15Speaker 3: work at home, and please let me be at home
- 43:17Speaker 3: because when the kid was turned four, that's it. I
- 43:23Speaker 3: had to leave. I was leaving all the time. And
- 43:25Speaker 3: as wonderful as it is to work that ship is
- 43:28Speaker 3: it has an impact on your kids that you know,
- 43:31Speaker 3: they're like this with my husband and I'm all jealous
- 43:34Speaker 3: and shit, yeah.
- 43:35Speaker 2: And Donald, you know, Donald's very close with his kids.
- 43:37Speaker 2: I mean, you're not going to go You're not going
- 43:39Speaker 2: to go do a long series in Atlanta.
- 43:42Speaker 1: I said that to my agent, I was like, unless
- 43:44Speaker 1: it's Star Wars or Marvel, you know, I don't give it.
- 43:48Speaker 1: Has your kids now Donald eleven and nine, eleven and.
- 43:53Speaker 3: Nine they still be yeah, fifteen they get mean.
- 43:59Speaker 1: Oh no, pandemic kids are already my kids already you.
- 44:04Speaker 3: Have to ask permission to come hang out with them.
- 44:07Speaker 2: These kids are precocious, They're mean already, they already mean.
- 44:12Speaker 2: Why don't you give them? Like obviously they love their
- 44:14Speaker 2: phones and ship Why don't you take the Phone's.
- 44:16Speaker 3: What I was going to say. That's what I do.
- 44:18Speaker 3: That's my only weapon.
- 44:20Speaker 1: Yeah, keep it up.
- 44:21Speaker 3: I'm taking your phone. One more word, I take your phone.
- 44:24Speaker 2: And so you don't do that.
- 44:25Speaker 1: Oh no, of course absolutely, but that only you take it.
- 44:29Speaker 1: And then they start annoying the fuck out of you,
- 44:31Speaker 1: and you're like, here, please take your phone. Just take
- 44:33Speaker 1: your phone and shuts back up. Take your phone and
- 44:35Speaker 1: shout the fuck up.
- 44:36Speaker 2: I got this lock box thing that I from when
- 44:39Speaker 2: I'm writing, and you put your you put your phone
- 44:43Speaker 2: in here, right, and you put it in here, and
- 44:46Speaker 2: you put this on top, and then you dial in
- 44:48Speaker 2: the amount of time I usually do thirty minutes, so
- 44:51Speaker 2: I can't look at my phone and not going to
- 44:53Speaker 2: do anything for thirty minutes. You could do this with
- 44:55Speaker 2: your kids phones. When they piss you off, you'd be like,
- 44:57Speaker 2: you know what, you just earn twenty four hour hours
- 45:00Speaker 2: in the lock box and you put the phone in
- 45:01Speaker 2: there for twenty four hours.
- 45:03Speaker 1: Now we do days?
- 45:05Speaker 3: You do days?
- 45:06Speaker 1: Yeah, I do well.
- 45:08Speaker 3: I mean it's such a problem with the phone, right,
- 45:11Speaker 3: especially when they're a teenager. It's kind of like an
- 45:13Speaker 3: impossible thing to gauge, you know. So I do have
- 45:16Speaker 3: like two hours no screens, but I don't have anything
- 45:21Speaker 3: to do. I don't care what you do with your time.
- 45:23Speaker 3: No screens for two hours, I take it. I get
- 45:25Speaker 3: home two hours no phone. You can have it later
- 45:29Speaker 3: to talk to your friends. That kind of stuff. Because
- 45:31Speaker 3: it affects academically, it makes them depressed. They can't keep me.
- 45:35Speaker 3: It really really.
- 45:36Speaker 2: Makes me depressed. I can't imagine what it does to
- 45:38Speaker 2: a teenager.
- 45:39Speaker 3: And you can't escape everything that's happening in the world,
- 45:42Speaker 3: you know what I mean. You're looking for any escape
- 45:45Speaker 3: and resources. My kid is trans so they're kind of terrified,
- 45:49Speaker 3: you know. So it's just all of us reading ourselves
- 45:51Speaker 3: away from all this stuff. That's really scary so that
- 45:55Speaker 3: you kind of like connect.
- 45:58Speaker 1: Let's take a break.
- 45:58Speaker 2: We'll be right back after the these fine words. How
- 46:09Speaker 2: has that been for you, Judy having a trans child? Man?
- 46:12Speaker 2: You you seem to be such a great mom and
- 46:17Speaker 2: was it a was it an adjustment for you? How
- 46:19Speaker 2: did you?
- 46:20Speaker 3: You know? What's so funny? In the fifth grade, my
- 46:23Speaker 3: kid came out as gay. They said, Mama, well what
- 46:26Speaker 3: I what would you do if I told you that
- 46:28Speaker 3: I liked girls? And I was like, what, that's amazing.
- 46:33Speaker 3: Of course you have my support. Me and me and
- 46:35Speaker 3: George were like losing our minds. And then COVID hit
- 46:38Speaker 3: and then they go to middle school. I think it
- 46:39Speaker 3: was the end of the sixth grade. Is seventh grade? Well,
- 46:43Speaker 3: I remember we I might cry, I come home, we're
- 46:47Speaker 3: on our way We picked them up from school. We're
- 46:48Speaker 3: on our way home, I think it was, And they
- 46:50Speaker 3: said they're really quiet. I said, what's wrong? Ray? I said,
- 46:54Speaker 3: what if I told you that I'm really a boy?
- 47:01Speaker 3: And it wasn't like when they were told me they
- 47:03Speaker 3: were gay. It was like, well, I mean you're so young,
- 47:06Speaker 3: you don't understand. I mean, let's say, let's wait and see.
- 47:08Speaker 3: Of course you can be whatever you want. And I
- 47:11Speaker 3: still feel their heartbreak at me not reacting or responding
- 47:21Speaker 3: and I and I was overwhelmed by how challenging it
- 47:25Speaker 3: was for me, like for that for six months a year,
- 47:29Speaker 3: and then they were Then they're like, they want to
- 47:31Speaker 3: change their name. They didn't want to use their dead name.
- 47:34Speaker 3: And I remember because my husband has a mouth, he's
- 47:37Speaker 3: like Jersey mouth, like fuck this, fuck that, fuck you,
- 47:40Speaker 3: fuck everybody. And he's very very supportive also. But then
- 47:44Speaker 3: one day they said, I want to I don't want
- 47:45Speaker 3: to use my name anymore. I said, what do you
- 47:49Speaker 3: want to? He want us to call you? And they
- 47:52Speaker 3: called I want you to call me Nko and George
- 47:55Speaker 3: is like, fuck that, I'm not going to call you
- 47:57Speaker 3: fucking Nico.
- 47:58Speaker 2: Fuck that ship.
- 47:59Speaker 3: N They started screaming at each other because they're close
- 48:03Speaker 3: like that, and I was like, oh, hold on on,
- 48:05Speaker 3: and that's what I said, why don't we use your
- 48:07Speaker 3: middle name? I named them Ray? It was Leila Ray.
- 48:11Speaker 3: We don't say Leyla anymore, r e Y, which means king,
- 48:15Speaker 3: and said, why don't we call you Ray until we
- 48:17Speaker 3: decide what name you're going to be called? Okay, and
- 48:20Speaker 3: it's spelled like the first half of our last name,
- 48:24Speaker 3: and it means king, so that way it's still male.
- 48:26Speaker 3: They were both really quiet. I said I'll try it,
- 48:30Speaker 3: and then we picked them up the next day at school.
- 48:33Speaker 3: Bye Ray, right bye, right, yeah, Ray, and I see
- 48:36Speaker 3: tomorrow Ray. So they just and they've been Ray ever sing.
- 48:39Speaker 2: Wow. That's such a pretty story. And I love that
- 48:41Speaker 2: it's a part of your maiden name or your name
- 48:44Speaker 2: you're It.
- 48:46Speaker 3: Was also to honor my dad, you know, at least
- 48:49Speaker 3: because he was very ill and dying and stuff.
- 48:53Speaker 2: And the schools now, I believe that, you know, we're
- 48:55Speaker 2: in Los Angeles, very progressive area. It's all, uh, they
- 49:00Speaker 2: okay in school.
- 49:01Speaker 3: I imagine they feel okay. They feel okay, but the
- 49:04Speaker 3: reality of the world is always in front of them,
- 49:06Speaker 3: so they always wonder and they're always asking, you know,
- 49:09Speaker 3: and when we travel, am I going to be able
- 49:11Speaker 3: to use the bathroom? Is somebody going to come and
- 49:14Speaker 3: attack me? Things like that because they don't have the
- 49:17Speaker 3: non binary bathrooms anymore as a result of this law,
- 49:20Speaker 3: or they won't, you know, because they have to follow
- 49:22Speaker 3: the law. I'm not sure how it's going to apply,
- 49:24Speaker 3: but we travel enough to really consider those things. And
- 49:29Speaker 3: the permission that people are feeling now to just verbally
- 49:33Speaker 3: assault others because they're not what you want them to
- 49:37Speaker 3: be is my point of concern, you know, because.
- 49:41Speaker 1: If it's very interesting how people are starting to behave now,
- 49:45Speaker 1: it's like, wait a second. You were always like this,
- 49:49Speaker 1: that's what it is. You just freaking hit it for
- 49:51Speaker 1: so long, and now people have just no problem being offensive.
- 49:56Speaker 1: They don't give a fuck who they're offending, you know
- 49:58Speaker 1: what I mean.
- 49:59Speaker 2: A sig les are flying left and right.
- 50:01Speaker 1: Left and right right now. And you know, my wife
- 50:06Speaker 1: had an experience with somebody who used the R word
- 50:09Speaker 1: right and my wife was like please special needs. They
- 50:13Speaker 1: were like no, Trump said, it's okay.
- 50:15Speaker 3: Now, Yeah, that's what it is. Everybody's being given permission.
- 50:20Speaker 3: There's this permissive nature where people can go ahead and
- 50:23Speaker 3: between doing the sick hiles and carrying their flags and
- 50:28Speaker 3: you know, calling people derogatory names for whatever their gender
- 50:34Speaker 3: identity is or their race or you know what I mean,
- 50:38Speaker 3: it's just.
- 50:41Speaker 2: Crazy. I can't help every time I see this, I'm like,
- 50:45Speaker 2: I'm so glad my father isn't allowed to see this.
- 50:47Speaker 2: That's the first thought that comes to my mind.
- 50:50Speaker 3: I can't imagine.
- 50:51Speaker 1: I mean, we're real close to it, guys. I'm sorry,
- 50:53Speaker 1: but I mean it's starting to feel like it's starting
- 50:56Speaker 1: to feel like something's gonna there's gonna be an explosion
- 50:59Speaker 1: of some you know what I mean, And I don't
- 51:01Speaker 1: I don't know, I don't know. It just feels like
- 51:05Speaker 1: we're getting close to the last of it, you know
- 51:07Speaker 1: what I mean, the last of us.
- 51:10Speaker 3: Yeah, it's gonna something like that's going to have to happen,
- 51:14Speaker 3: right and people are going to blow up. And what
- 51:16Speaker 3: I also see is a lot of people, you know,
- 51:18Speaker 3: coming together, you know, which I think is key, right
- 51:23Speaker 3: because we all know that that's it's a divide and
- 51:26Speaker 3: conqueror and then they can take over when it does happen.
- 51:29Speaker 3: Donald that there is going to be an explosion, that's
- 51:33Speaker 3: when you're going to have like your civil rights type
- 51:36Speaker 3: of movement against what's happening right now.
- 51:40Speaker 2: Well, let's pivot to a more positive conversation before we end. Judy,
- 51:44Speaker 2: there's all these rumors of a Scrubs reboot. Nothing's confirmed,
- 51:48Speaker 2: but you're on a hit show. So I hope that
