• 1:14
  SPEAKER_00: Oh, yeah.
• 1:18
SPEAKER_00: Good to know one of our brains work.

SPEAKER_00: Give me give me all your hot takes.
• 1:32
SPEAKER_01: I was very happy to see the side flash, Sawyer.
• 1:36
SPEAKER_01: I was like, oh, this is perfect.
• 1:39
  SPEAKER_01: Like it fit.
• 1:40
  SPEAKER_01: It totally fit.
• 1:42
SPEAKER_01: I think at one point through the 601 billion hours of Lost We Watched, I think at one point it was mentioned that he definitely could have gone one way or the other based on his.
• 1:52
SPEAKER_01: And then, oh my god, here we are.
• 1:55
SPEAKER_01: So I think that was that was that was amazing.
• 1:59
  SPEAKER_00: Let's do the synopsis.
• 2:01
SPEAKER_00: Thank you, Lostpedia, for your help.
• 2:06
SPEAKER_00: We're at Claire's hut on the island, and Sawyer wakes up Jin.
• 2:11
SPEAKER_00: Jin is like, let's run, but Sawyer says that he's with Locke.
• 2:18
SPEAKER_00: Jin reminds him that that's not Locke, and Sawyer's like, Yeah, I know, but I don't care because he's gonna get us off the island, so that's all that matters.
• 2:25
SPEAKER_00: And Jin is like, except I won't leave without son.
• 2:31
SPEAKER_00: So Sawyer says, if she's there, they'll not leave without her.
• 2:37
SPEAKER_00: And then as they speak, they c the man in black who is, you know, dressed up as Locke, he comes in with his group.
• 2:45
SPEAKER_00: And in his group is Saeed and Kate.
• 2:49
SPEAKER_00: Claire packs a few belongings and goes to the cradle to tuck in that like weird skeleton fur creepy monster baby of Aaron.
• 3:00
SPEAKER_00: Kate is like, oh, what's in the cradle?
• 3:02
  SPEAKER_00: And Claire's like, Well, it's all I had.
• 3:06
SPEAKER_00: Which is kind of like, ooh, Kate, yeah, you shouldn't have even fucking asked.
• 3:10
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 3:11
SPEAKER_00: Fake Lock calls everyone together and says he understands that they have questions and he'll make himself available, but just not now.
• 3:20
SPEAKER_00: He wants to take advantage of the daylight and get moving.
• 3:23
SPEAKER_00: Cindy wants to know what happened to the people at the temple, and Fake Lock says, Mmm, the man the the black smoke killed them.
• 3:33
  SPEAKER_00: That's the ticket.
• 3:35
SPEAKER_00: Fake Lock goes and comforts the kids who are crying, and Claire takes Kate's hand.
• 3:42
SPEAKER_00: You know, it looks like comfort, but it's like, is it?
• 3:46
  SPEAKER_00: I didn't get that vibe.
• 3:48
  SPEAKER_00: Exactly.
• 3:50
SPEAKER_00: Sawyer and Kate talk about the whereabouts of their friends, and Kate asks him if he's with Locke.
• 3:56
SPEAKER_00: Sawyer says he's not with anybody.
• 3:58
SPEAKER_00: They start to trek to the jungle, and when Fake Lock says there's a clearing ahead, they'll camp for several days, Sawyer interrupts him.
• 4:08
SPEAKER_00: Fake Lock is like, uh, let's talk over here and don't interrupt me.
• 4:14
SPEAKER_00: Sawyer sarcastically apologizes and asks how Locke knew to rescue people from that smoke thing, and Fake Lock says, Well, because you know, I am the smoke thing.
• 4:27
SPEAKER_00: Sawyer is incredulous that all those people were killed and wants to know why.
• 4:31
SPEAKER_00: Fake Locke says he gave them the opportunity to leave peacefully, but they didn't take it.
• 4:36
SPEAKER_00: He explains the people believe that they were protecting the island from him, which is ironic because all he wants to do is leave.
• 4:44
SPEAKER_00: He says that it's either kill or be killed, and he doesn't want to be killed.
• 4:48
SPEAKER_00: They arrive at the beach, they can see Hydra Island, and Fake Lock tells Sawyer to take the outrigger to Hydra to do some recon.
• 4:56
SPEAKER_00: He tells Sawyer to find the Ajira flight 316 because he has reason to believe that some of the passengers mean to do them harm.
• 5:06
SPEAKER_00: Sawyer wants to know what to do if he runs into trouble, and Fake Lock is like, I'm not worried because you're the best liar I've ever met.
• 5:13
SPEAKER_00: If you encounter anybody, gain their trust, find out what you can, and then come back.
• 5:19
SPEAKER_00: When Sawyer asks what the purpose of the recon is, the man in black says, we get on that plane, we fly off the island, and we never look back.
• 5:28
SPEAKER_00: And so Sawyer goes off on his mission.
• 5:32
SPEAKER_00: While he's on Hydra Island, he passes the cages where he and Kate were held prisoner.
• 5:37
SPEAKER_00: And you see remember that like it was yesterday.
• 5:40
SPEAKER_00: I know, and it was really a long time ago for us.
• 5:44
SPEAKER_01: And for them, it was like three years.
• 5:46
SPEAKER_01: It was, you know, yeah, it's true.
• 5:48
SPEAKER_00: It's three years for us, too.
• 5:51
  SPEAKER_00: It has been.
• 5:52
SPEAKER_01: How could we in sync with loss?
• 5:54
  SPEAKER_01: I don't know how I feel about that.
• 5:55
  SPEAKER_01: Okay.
• 5:56
SPEAKER_00: But you see him find the dress that Kate had worn, and you can't see his emotions, but you can see his emotions.
• 6:06
  SPEAKER_01: Yes.
• 6:08
SPEAKER_01: The way he was like holding the dress is a mo yeah.
• 6:12
SPEAKER_00: Meanwhile, Kate is talking to Saeed, and she asks him if he believes that Locke can get them off the island, and Saeed says yes.
• 6:20
SPEAKER_00: But Said is not acting like Saeed.
• 6:23
SPEAKER_00: So Kate wants to know if he's okay, and he says that he's not.
• 6:28
SPEAKER_00: The conversation stops because Claire attacks Kate from behind.
• 6:33
SPEAKER_00: She's trying to stab her in the throat.
• 6:36
SPEAKER_00: Kate screams at Said for help, but he's just kind of like, whatever, another day at the jungle.
• 6:42
SPEAKER_00: And then Fake Lock appears and gets Claire off of Kate, saying that Kate did what she had to do by taking Aaron because she couldn't find Claire.
• 6:52
SPEAKER_00: Also, he like slaps her face and he's like, calm the fuck down.
• 6:56
  SPEAKER_00: Right.
• 6:57
SPEAKER_01: Well, she kind of needed it at that point.
• 6:59
  SPEAKER_01: What?
• 6:59
  SPEAKER_00: Well, what was it?
• 7:00
SPEAKER_00: Uh snuck out of it.
• 7:02
  SPEAKER_00: Snack out of it.
• 7:05
SPEAKER_00: Fun fact, I used to work at that bakery anyway.
• 7:12
SPEAKER_00: I don't think it still exists, but I miss home.
• 7:15
  SPEAKER_00: It doesn't?
• 7:16
  SPEAKER_00: I don't I I don't know.
• 7:18
SPEAKER_00: It's like some hipster something or other, I think.
• 7:22
  SPEAKER_00: Oh I don't think it's still a bakery.
• 7:24
SPEAKER_00: Next time I'm down the neighborhood, I'll have to look.
• 7:28
  SPEAKER_01: Down the neighborhood.
• 7:29
SPEAKER_00: I don't know when I'll be down the neighborhood, but you know, if there's next time.
• 7:32
SPEAKER_00: He tells her that what she did is inappropriate, and Kate is just Kate, Kate is really upset.
• 7:40
SPEAKER_00: And she's just, you know, when asked, she's like, I'm not okay.
• 7:45
SPEAKER_00: Back on Hydra Island, Sawyer finds a plane, he follows drag marks in the sand, and it leads him to a pile of decaying body bodies.
• 7:56
SPEAKER_00: He hears so he hears sounds, he draws his gun, he sees a woman running from him.
• 8:00
SPEAKER_00: He chases her, brings her down.
• 8:03
SPEAKER_00: She says, I'm Zoe, I'm the only one left from the survivors from the flight.
• 8:07
SPEAKER_00: She says she heard screaming while she was collecting wood, and when she came back to the campsite, the others were all dead.
• 8:13
SPEAKER_00: They walk to the outrigger and she's asking a whole lot of fucking questions.
• 8:18
SPEAKER_00: And then she's like, Oh, do you guys have guns?
• 8:21
SPEAKER_00: A lot of guns, and other lot of people.
• 8:23
SPEAKER_00: And as they reach the outrigger, Sawyer pulls his gun on her.
• 8:27
SPEAKER_00: He's like, You're a good liar, but not that good.
• 8:31
SPEAKER_00: Except she whistles and then it looks like Timo Goonies, okay?
• 8:39
SPEAKER_00: Came out of the jungle.
• 8:41
  SPEAKER_00: She said Timo Goonies.
• 8:44
SPEAKER_00: But the the one kid, all I see is his face, and I'm like, that's the kid from Criminal Moves.
• 8:50
SPEAKER_01: Oh, I'm thinking from Kate and Alley.
• 8:52
SPEAKER_01: I would I brought it all the that's Chip.
• 8:55
SPEAKER_01: Is it that's Chip from Kate and Alley?
• 8:57
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I remember that.
• 8:59
  SPEAKER_01: Okay.
• 8:59
SPEAKER_01: Because he's played in a lot of like he's been like an ep like he played in a lot of what episodes and a lot of things.
• 9:04
  SPEAKER_01: Okay.
• 9:04
SPEAKER_01: So I've seen him as an adult and like you know, throughout the decades.
• 9:08
  SPEAKER_01: So yeah, that's chip.
• 9:10
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it was it was like a a different version of Light Hem Up, but the Timu version.
• 9:16
SPEAKER_00: But like they look like the Goonies, except just not, you know.
• 9:23
  SPEAKER_01: You wouldn't hear funny.
• 9:24
SPEAKER_01: Why do I remember the character of a child from a sitcom from 30 years ago?
• 9:31
SPEAKER_00: Anyway, the Timu Goonies take him prisoner, and like I'm so glad I didn't take anything.
• 9:37
  SPEAKER_01: I didn't drink anything.
• 9:38
  SPEAKER_01: That's good.
• 9:40
  SPEAKER_00: Timo Goonies.
• 9:42
  SPEAKER_00: Okay.
• 9:42
  SPEAKER_00: I didn't take anything either.
• 9:43
SPEAKER_01: I'm just drinking my we're gonna add this to um the show notes.
• 9:46
SPEAKER_01: You have to say Timo Goonies, and you have to put that in there.
• 9:52
SPEAKER_00: Back on the main island, Kate is sobbing in a grove.
• 9:56
SPEAKER_00: Fake lock joins her, he apologizes for uh uh Claire's attack, and he's like, I want to take full responsibility for Claire's behavior because I was the one who told Claire that the others had her baby.
• 10:07
SPEAKER_00: And when Kate asks why he would say that, he says, because Claire was devastated without Aaron, so he gave her something to hate in order to keep her going.
• 10:18
SPEAKER_00: He goes on to say that hearing the truth from Kate caused Claire to release all of the anger that she had been holding on to for so long.
• 10:26
SPEAKER_00: Kate says his explanation is insightful considering he's a dead man.
• 10:31
SPEAKER_00: I mean, I think when I mean he wasn't wrong, it was right.
• 10:35
SPEAKER_01: I figure as a dead person, you're you're you should be more insightful.
• 10:39
SPEAKER_00: I just want to case from Timu.
• 10:41
  SPEAKER_00: Okay.
• 10:41
SPEAKER_01: Your phone is even like listening to.
• 10:43
SPEAKER_00: They're like, oh, Goonies, we got that.
• 10:45
  SPEAKER_00: Okay.
• 10:45
SPEAKER_01: I mean, as a dead person, you really should be insightful.
• 10:48
SPEAKER_01: Like you should be able to see things that we must do.
• 10:50
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah, you would think.
• 10:51
SPEAKER_01: I expect insightfulness from my dead person.
• 11:21
SPEAKER_00: He promises that he'll keep everyone, including Kate, safe.
• 11:24
SPEAKER_00: And when she asks where Sawyer went, he offers his he offers his hand to help her up and smiling tells her he will show her.
• 11:34
SPEAKER_00: Noted, she gets up without his help.
• 11:37
SPEAKER_00: He takes her to the beach and points out Hydra Island as the place he sent Sawyer.
• 11:42
SPEAKER_00: She recognizes it as obviously she and Sawyer were locked in the cages, and he says he is not a dead man.
• 11:52
SPEAKER_00: He says he knows what Kate is feeling because his mother was crazy.
• 11:57
SPEAKER_00: He said a long time ago, before he looked like he does now, he had a mother who was very disturbed, and as a result, he had some growing pains.
• 12:07
SPEAKER_00: Problems that he is still trying to work his way through, and that he could have avoided had things been different.
• 12:14
SPEAKER_00: Kate asks him why he's telling her all this, and he says, because now Aaron has a crazy mother too.
• 12:20
SPEAKER_00: Later on, Claire finds Kate and she she makes a really heartfelt apology, and Kate just remains like kind of like okay, you know?
• 12:33
  SPEAKER_00: Okay.
• 12:35
  SPEAKER_00: Okay.
• 12:36
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah, like okay, thanks.
• 12:39
SPEAKER_00: I'll keep I'll keep that in my pocket.
• 12:42
SPEAKER_00: Uh but she, you know, she hugs her back and she's like, okay.
• 12:46
  SPEAKER_00: Like, we're good.
• 12:46
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah, we're good.
• 12:49
SPEAKER_00: As Sawyer is taken to the sub, he notices people erecting pylons around the dock, similar to the sonar fence in the main island.
• 12:58
SPEAKER_00: Zoe takes him inside the sub and in a quarter, Sawyer Sawyer notices a padlocked door.
• 13:04
SPEAKER_00: He wants to know what's in it, but they won't tell him.
• 13:06
SPEAKER_00: He's taken to Charles Whidmore and he introduces himself.
• 13:09
  SPEAKER_00: Well, Whidmore introduces himself.
• 13:12
SPEAKER_00: Whidmore asks if Sawyer knows who he is, and Sawyer says, uh, yeah, you're the man who sent a freighter to the island to kill everyone.
• 13:18
SPEAKER_00: Whidmore says, Whidmore denies murdering the people from the Agira flight.
• 13:24
SPEAKER_00: And he's like, you don't really know as much as you think you do.
• 13:29
SPEAKER_00: Sawyer is direct about John Locke sending him to the island and what Locke's purpose is.
• 13:34
SPEAKER_00: He says they both know that the man who sent him is not really Locke.
• 13:38
SPEAKER_00: Sawyer offers him a deal.
• 13:40
SPEAKER_00: He says, I'll tell Locke that the coast is clear and that I didn't find anybody, then he'll bring Locke right to Whidmore's doorstep so that Whidmore can kill him.
• 13:51
SPEAKER_00: In exchange, the people with Sawyer don't get touched and they get safe passage off the island.
• 13:57
  SPEAKER_00: And Whidmore agrees.
• 13:58
SPEAKER_00: When Sawyer arrives back at the beach, Locke greets him.
• 14:02
SPEAKER_00: Well, Fake Locke, and Sawyer tells him that all the passengers are dead, and Fake Lock wants to know what happened.
• 14:09
SPEAKER_00: Sawyer doesn't really know what happened, but he reveals everything about Whidmore and his crew, the submarine, the locked door, the pylons, the Dharma barracks, and the deal he made with Whidmore.
• 14:19
SPEAKER_00: The man in black tells Sawyer that he appreciates his loyalty.
• 14:23
  SPEAKER_00: And Sawyer says, a deal's a deal.
• 14:26
SPEAKER_00: At nightfall, Sawyer sits down next to Kate and asks, and she asks him why he's running errands for fake Locke.
• 14:33
SPEAKER_00: He claims he isn't running errands for anybody.
• 14:36
SPEAKER_00: He tells her about Whidmore and his plans, and he says, the plan is to let Whidmore and Locke fight it out.
• 14:43
SPEAKER_00: Meanwhile, while they're killing each other, we're gonna steal the sub and we're gonna get the hell out of here.
• 14:50
SPEAKER_01: Right, because my because Kate goes, Do you know how to fly a pain?
• 14:55
SPEAKER_01: He's like, We're gonna take the submarine.
• 14:57
SPEAKER_01: All right, and I'm my response was right, because that's so much easier to navigate.
• 15:02
SPEAKER_01: I feel like I could fly a plane easier than I could do a submarine.
• 15:05
  SPEAKER_01: Right.
• 15:05
SPEAKER_01: I feel like, yeah, because that's easier.
• 15:07
  SPEAKER_01: I don't know.
• 15:07
SPEAKER_00: But I mean, to be fair, he I feel like there's probably a lot more YouTube videos on how to fly a plane than how to drive a submarine.
• 15:13
SPEAKER_01: To be fair, he was with the others those three years, and they use submarines, so maybe he did kind of get some knowledge.
• 15:22
SPEAKER_00: Maybe he's three, maybe okay, maybe that's logical because they did go back and forth.
• 15:27
  SPEAKER_00: Maybe security.
• 15:30
SPEAKER_01: Okay, but I my but my first reaction was, yeah, that's so much easier.
• 15:37
SPEAKER_00: If you had to pick just you, what would you pick?
• 15:44
SPEAKER_01: The plane, which is I think because I mean, if something goes wrong, I'm sure there's parachutes somewhere around.
• 15:51
SPEAKER_01: If something goes wrong in the submarine, you're just asked out.
• 15:54
SPEAKER_00: I think logistically, it might be easier to fly the plane, like assuming you have knowledge of neither, right?
• 16:03
  SPEAKER_00: Than the submarine.
• 16:05
SPEAKER_00: However, I think if I literally had to pick, I might pick the submarine only because if you if you don't dive and you stay close to the service surface, if something goes wrong, that's a good point, you can escape safely.
• 16:25
  SPEAKER_00: That's a good point.
• 16:27
SPEAKER_01: Well, I was looking, I was thinking it had a parachute.
• 16:30
SPEAKER_01: Like I'm sure like the seats, the sh you know, this I yeah.
• 16:33
  SPEAKER_01: So I think we both have I think it's between both of them, it's a 50-50.
• 16:37
  SPEAKER_01: You're dying either way.
• 16:39
SPEAKER_00: Because at least the sub, it's like you could you could just kind of go right under the surface and then open, yeah.
• 16:46
  SPEAKER_01: That's a good point.
• 16:48
SPEAKER_01: I'm afraid with my luck, I hit the wrong button and end up submerged.
• 16:51
  SPEAKER_01: I'm like, God, fuck.
• 16:52
SPEAKER_00: Right down to the bottom.
• 16:53
SPEAKER_00: Like, oh, look, there goes the Mariana trench.
• 16:55
  SPEAKER_00: Right.
• 16:56
SPEAKER_00: Like, oh, that's so cool.
• 16:57
SPEAKER_00: Oh, yeah, look, there goes and to your left, there's a Titanic.
• 17:02
SPEAKER_01: And right now, oh, there goes this other submarine.
• 17:05
SPEAKER_01: And then I have like the submarines, the guys that made their own submarines and end up oh god, right, suffocating 12 hours later.
• 17:11
SPEAKER_00: I'm like, uh you see, and that's the thing, right?
• 17:13
SPEAKER_00: You you you don't pressurize right, you go down to the bottom, you implode.
• 17:17
SPEAKER_00: Where have we heard that before?
• 17:18
SPEAKER_01: I you know, I feel like my chances would be better in a plane.
• 17:23
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I get it.
• 17:25
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I'm flash sideways.
• 17:29
SPEAKER_00: We see James naked in the bed with a woman named Ava.
• 17:34
SPEAKER_00: And once again, we see, oh my god, weren't you supposed to have an appointment?
• 17:39
  SPEAKER_00: Oh my god.
• 17:40
SPEAKER_00: Grabs the briefcase, the briefcase falls open, the money falls out.
• 17:44
SPEAKER_00: Oh, you weren't supposed to see that.
• 17:46
SPEAKER_00: Wasn't that that sound that looks so familiar?
• 17:51
SPEAKER_00: He says it's for an investment that won't take long, and in a shocking turn of events, she pulls a gun on him, saying that he's a fool if she believed that she'd fall for such a basic con.
• 18:04
SPEAKER_00: He says, actually, she's the fool because in an even more shocking turn of events, but kind of not, he said, This is actually all a setup.
• 18:14
SPEAKER_00: The room is bugged, we're surrounded by cops, and the cops really just want her husband and encourages her to save herself by playing along and taking the briefcase to him.
• 18:25
  SPEAKER_00: She's like, uh, you're right.
• 18:28
SPEAKER_00: So he says one word.
• 18:30
SPEAKER_00: Because she's like, if you're a cop, where is everybody?
• 18:32
SPEAKER_00: He's like, all I gotta say is one word.
• 18:34
SPEAKER_00: And at this point, as a watcher, you're like, oh, we've seen you do this shit hundreds of times.
• 18:39
SPEAKER_00: Like, are you just lying to talk yourself out of this mess?
• 18:43
SPEAKER_00: And he says the magic word.
• 18:45
SPEAKER_00: Do you remember the magic word?
• 18:47
  SPEAKER_00: La Fleur.
• 18:48
SPEAKER_00: And bam, bam! The police led by who?
• 18:52
  SPEAKER_00: Miles.
• 18:54
SPEAKER_01: I love everything about this scene.
• 18:57
SPEAKER_01: I love LeFleur, would be was the uh the magic word.
• 19:02
  SPEAKER_01: I love that he's the cop.
• 19:03
SPEAKER_01: I love that his Miles is his partner.
• 19:05
SPEAKER_01: I loved all of it.
• 19:07
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, they come in, they arrest her.
• 19:09
SPEAKER_00: Miles tosses his badge, and he's like, get dressed partner.
• 19:16
SPEAKER_01: And it makes sense for Sawyer's side, the flash side weight.
• 19:22
  SPEAKER_01: I can't, it's such a weird say that.
• 19:25
SPEAKER_01: For Miles to be the same way, for the for them all to be 180, and it's just it was so fitting.
• 19:34
SPEAKER_00: Back at the station, we see Detective James Ford calling a list of men named Anthony Cooper.
• 19:42
SPEAKER_01: And where did we hear this name before?
• 19:46
  SPEAKER_01: I'm taking your lines.
• 19:47
SPEAKER_01: I'm taking all your lines, Lisa.
• 19:49
SPEAKER_00: And he's saying, Oh, we have some unclaimed property.
• 19:54
SPEAKER_00: Can you verify you were in Alabama in 1976?
• 19:59
SPEAKER_00: And when the first guy, we don't know what he says, but obviously he doesn't get the answer that James wants.
• 20:07
SPEAKER_00: He hangs up, calls next one, but Miles interrupts with some coffee, and he's like, Oh, who's Anthony Cooper?
• 20:14
SPEAKER_00: And he's like, Oh, yeah, yeah, oh buddy, uh, he's gonna give me Lakers tickets.
• 20:17
SPEAKER_00: Um, he's like, Oh, is that a friend you met in Palm Springs when you went there last weekend?
• 20:22
  SPEAKER_00: And we see him.
• 20:24
SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna call him James because I wanna try to differentiate for the between, yeah.
• 20:30
SPEAKER_00: But it's so weird calling him Sawyer.
• 20:32
SPEAKER_00: Like, I want to call him Sawyer uh he's I want to call him Sawyer, it's called weird calling him James, but it's easier to differentiate if I do.
• 20:40
  SPEAKER_01: Copy that sense.
• 20:41
  SPEAKER_01: Okay.
• 20:41
  SPEAKER_01: I Capitan.
• 20:43
  unknown: Okay.
• 20:43
SPEAKER_01: And then Juliet called him James.
• 20:47
  SPEAKER_01: She did.
• 20:48
  SPEAKER_01: That's true.
• 20:49
SPEAKER_01: So it's it's also kind of like a little homage.
• 20:53
SPEAKER_00: So he's he's a little puzzled, and then he's like, um, oh yeah, I was drunk.
• 20:59
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah, I was I was really drunk.
• 21:00
  SPEAKER_00: Uh-huh.
• 21:01
SPEAKER_00: Miles reminds him that he has a blind date with a coworker of his father's that evening.
• 21:07
SPEAKER_00: And when he tries to back out, Miles is like, you don't need to tell lies.
• 21:13
SPEAKER_00: You can be truthful with me.
• 21:15
SPEAKER_00: And really, like, James is like, I have no reason to lie to you.
• 21:21
  SPEAKER_01: Liar.
• 21:22
  SPEAKER_01: Says all liars.
• 21:24
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 21:25
SPEAKER_00: Which is not fair because if you were telling the truth, you would also say that.
• 21:31
SPEAKER_01: I think people who were naturally honest were like, all right, if you're if I'm lying, oh well then.
• 21:38
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah, exactly.
• 21:39
SPEAKER_00: Like I was just gonna say, if I'm lying, if I'm telling the truth about something and you don't believe me, I'm like, I don't care.
• 21:43
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah, whatever.
• 21:44
SPEAKER_00: You don't have to believe me.
• 21:45
SPEAKER_00: It's still, it doesn't make it any less true.
• 21:47
  SPEAKER_00: Goodbye.
• 21:50
SPEAKER_01: You did have me opening and closing my mouth like a fish.
• 21:52
SPEAKER_01: Like, I might have to snip snip snip that uh video.
• 22:00
SPEAKER_01: No, because Agus has no makeup on today.
• 22:02
SPEAKER_01: So we're not doing video for this episode.
• 22:04
  SPEAKER_01: Fine.
• 22:05
  SPEAKER_01: Love you.
• 22:07
SPEAKER_00: James arrives at a bar and calls Mal to ask what his date looks like.
• 22:12
  SPEAKER_00: And she's like, he's like, uh, she's a redhead.
• 22:14
SPEAKER_00: How many do you see?
• 22:15
  SPEAKER_01: Okay.
• 22:16
SPEAKER_01: So the moment he said blind date and co worker of my father's, I'm like, Juliet, I need Juliet, I need to come back with Juliet.
• 22:26
SPEAKER_01: And then he goes, and when he says she has red hair, I'm like, oh, Charlotte.
• 22:29
SPEAKER_01: And the fact that I remember these fucking people's names, I'm highly disappointed in myself because that means I'm paying attention.
• 22:38
  SPEAKER_01: I know I'm paying attention.
• 22:39
SPEAKER_01: I don't know how I feel about this now.
• 22:41
  SPEAKER_01: I'm disappointed in myself.
• 22:44
SPEAKER_00: So he finds her, they're eating, and she says she's an archaeologist.
• 22:50
SPEAKER_00: And he compares her to Indiana Jones.
• 22:54
SPEAKER_00: And then she wants to know why he became a cop.
• 22:56
SPEAKER_00: And he tries to make light of the question by making a reference to Steve McQueen movie Bullet.
• 23:02
SPEAKER_00: And she says, first of all, she's like, she's like, I'm not familiar.
• 23:07
SPEAKER_00: And he's like, oh, then don't worry about it.
• 23:08
SPEAKER_00: And she's like, I want the real reason, not the one that you use, but all the other women.
• 23:12
  SPEAKER_00: Like, don't humor me.
• 23:13
  SPEAKER_00: Just, you know.
• 23:15
SPEAKER_00: So he smiles and he says that at a certain point in his life, he realized that he could become either a cop or a criminal.
• 23:22
  SPEAKER_00: And he chose cop.
• 23:24
SPEAKER_00: And basically, that was all she needed to drop her panties upon.
• 23:30
  unknown: Listen.
• 23:31
SPEAKER_01: Okay, as women, we all have whatever it is.
• 23:35
  SPEAKER_01: We have a thing.
• 23:36
SPEAKER_01: Sometimes we know what that thing is, sometimes we don't know what that thing is.
• 23:39
SPEAKER_01: But we all have a thing with the most mute, mundane thing.
• 23:42
SPEAKER_01: We'd be like, yeah, you could get it.
• 23:44
  SPEAKER_01: It's fine.
• 23:45
  SPEAKER_00: I think it's not for me, it's not necessarily like I meet a guy and he's like, I'm a cop.
• 23:55
SPEAKER_00: And I'm like, it's on, per se.
• 23:57
  SPEAKER_00: Not, not whatever.
• 23:59
  SPEAKER_00: Right.
• 23:59
SPEAKER_00: It's just like even with Alex, it's just certain things, like certain moments where it'll just be like, and it you can never pinpoint it.
• 24:07
SPEAKER_00: And it'll just be something.
• 24:09
SPEAKER_00: And it's like you you just give a look or you do an action, or you just sit a certain way, and it's like and it's on and popping.
• 24:16
  SPEAKER_01: I'm gonna lose ourselves.
• 24:18
SPEAKER_01: I'm gonna jump your bones right here.
• 24:19
  SPEAKER_01: Excuse me.
• 24:21
SPEAKER_01: Right now, yes, there's always that something.
• 24:23
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and I love that.
• 24:24
  SPEAKER_01: It's just I don't know.
• 24:26
SPEAKER_01: It's not his sparkling personality.
• 24:28
  SPEAKER_01: I will reiterate.
• 24:30
SPEAKER_01: I listen, that can be sparkling, depending on what your definition of sparkling is, okay?
• 24:37
  SPEAKER_01: Or what's sparkling?
• 24:38
SPEAKER_01: It depends what it's either.
• 24:46
SPEAKER_01: We have the same, we have the same like mental picture remotely.
• 24:53
  SPEAKER_01: 1500 miles away.
• 24:55
SPEAKER_00: So they're in okay, back on track.
• 24:57
  SPEAKER_00: They're in bed.
• 24:58
SPEAKER_00: Charlotte wants a t-shirt, and he's like, Yeah, top drawer.
• 25:02
SPEAKER_00: We I feel like when somebody says, Yeah, it's in this drawer, we always know that it's gonna go wrong.
• 25:07
SPEAKER_00: Does it ever go wrong right?
• 25:09
  SPEAKER_00: No, not at all.
• 25:12
  SPEAKER_00: You're asking for a t-shirt.
• 25:13
SPEAKER_00: You open a drawer and it's all pants.
• 25:16
SPEAKER_00: Bitch, you're in the wrong drawer.
• 25:18
SPEAKER_00: You're like, what was your first clue?
• 25:20
SPEAKER_01: Like, I feel like the one thing in here was his shirt.
• 25:24
SPEAKER_01: I feel like the her the look on her face as she was finding things made me feel like it wasn't an accident.
• 25:31
SPEAKER_01: It wasn't it was just too like, uh huh.
• 25:35
  SPEAKER_01: I got something.
• 25:36
  SPEAKER_01: Okay.
• 25:37
  SPEAKER_01: It was okay.
• 25:38
SPEAKER_01: Don't don't uh me, because you're trying to gas me up.
• 25:40
  SPEAKER_01: I'm gonna ignore it.
• 25:41
  SPEAKER_01: I might be.
• 25:42
SPEAKER_00: Or I might just be like, oh yeah, that's a good tape.
• 25:45
SPEAKER_01: I feel like if someone were just like digging and just being nosy, you're like, oh, your face would be like, oh, what's this?
• 25:51
SPEAKER_01: As opposed to I mean, I know something.
• 25:54
SPEAKER_00: If I saw that, I want I might want to look at it too.
• 25:57
SPEAKER_01: Well, no, I'm not saying not looking, I'm just saying the the facial expression would be a lot different.
• 26:00
SPEAKER_01: It'd be like, oh, I think this guy I would not have.
• 26:04
  SPEAKER_01: Right.
• 26:05
SPEAKER_01: But then her face was more like I found something.
• 26:09
SPEAKER_01: I'm like I was intentionally looking for something, and I found something, as opposed to, oh, what's this?
• 26:15
  SPEAKER_00: Oh, I see.
• 26:16
  SPEAKER_00: Okay.
• 26:17
  SPEAKER_01: Yes.
• 26:18
  SPEAKER_01: It wasn't like a oh, I'm being nosy.
• 26:20
SPEAKER_01: It was like, oh, I'm looking for something.
• 26:21
  SPEAKER_01: I found this.
• 26:22
SPEAKER_01: I don't know what I'm looking for, but this is something, yeah.
• 26:25
SPEAKER_00: Well, she finds a folder, it's Mark Sawyer, and she sees a couple, like a family, and as she's opening the folder to replace it, she sees a news article, and basically that's when Sawyer comes.
• 26:40
  SPEAKER_00: Um, sorry.
• 26:41
  SPEAKER_00: James comes back in.
• 26:42
  SPEAKER_00: James Ford.
• 26:43
SPEAKER_00: James Ford, Detective James Ford, realizing what's I'm sorry.
• 26:49
SPEAKER_01: It's funny how he called her Indiana Jones, and then her the character's name, last name is Ford, like Harrison Ford.
• 26:57
  SPEAKER_01: Oh.
• 26:59
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I didn't think about that.
• 27:01
  SPEAKER_00: I made a connection.
• 27:03
  SPEAKER_00: Ooh.
• 27:04
SPEAKER_00: Um Yeah, so when he when he comes back in and he sees, I mean, he flies into a range, a rage, she tries to explain, and he's like, get out.
• 27:14
SPEAKER_00: The next day, did you recognize Charlie Pace's brother Liam?
• 27:21
SPEAKER_00: When the guy was like, I'm looking for my brother.
• 27:24
SPEAKER_00: He was he was taken from the airport on a drug charge.
• 27:28
  SPEAKER_00: I couldn't remember.
• 27:29
SPEAKER_00: I I was like, What is what am I missing here?
• 27:31
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, that was Charlie's brother, the one that he was in the band with.
• 27:34
SPEAKER_00: Oh my god, yes, holy shit.
• 27:36
SPEAKER_00: And then I'm like, drug charge.
• 27:37
SPEAKER_00: I'm like, who kind of rest of a drug?
• 27:39
  SPEAKER_00: And I just couldn't.
• 27:40
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 27:40
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah, okay.
• 27:41
SPEAKER_00: And he he approaches James and he's like, oh, not my department.
• 27:47
SPEAKER_00: Miles comes out and is like, let's go.
• 27:50
SPEAKER_00: Miles is furious, and Sawyer thinks it's because he, you know, threw Charlotte out.
• 27:56
SPEAKER_00: And then Miles is like, I traced your credit card and you were in Australia.
• 28:02
SPEAKER_00: I feel like he was a little bit too angry.
• 28:05
SPEAKER_00: Well, Miles talks about trust and he's like, um, he wants to know what he was doing in Australia.
• 28:12
SPEAKER_00: He's like, it's none of your fucking business.
• 28:14
SPEAKER_00: Um, and then he's like, you know what?
• 28:16
SPEAKER_00: I'm not your partner anymore.
• 28:17
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah, da.
• 28:18
SPEAKER_01: I just feel like he took it to a whole new level.
• 28:21
SPEAKER_01: I can get being concerned about your partner and what's going on, but he was just like jealous girlfriend, like who you fucking behind my back, kind of angry.
• 28:30
  SPEAKER_01: Mm-hmm.
• 28:30
  SPEAKER_01: That's just my opinion.
• 28:33
SPEAKER_00: We see him go home that night, microwave dinner, he's watching Little House in the Prairie.
• 28:39
SPEAKER_00: But I think the scene is what was important.
• 28:45
SPEAKER_00: So we see Laura tell her father that she would be devastated if anything ever happened to him and her mother.
• 28:53
SPEAKER_00: And her father tells her that if you live your life worrying about the future, life will be over before you know it.
• 28:59
SPEAKER_00: He says people aren't really gone once they die, and that you hold on to their good memories until you see them again.
• 29:06
SPEAKER_00: And we know that Sawyer lost his parents at a young age, and there's this whole connection with him still dwelling on it and trying to find Anthony Cooper, who's the man that he believes is responsible for his parents' death.
• 29:24
SPEAKER_00: But with that, he leaves and we see him go to Charlotte's apartment to apologize with a sunflower and a six-pack of beer.
• 29:33
  SPEAKER_00: That's a really cute apology.
• 29:35
SPEAKER_00: The sunflower makes a comeback.
• 29:38
SPEAKER_01: I mean, it was cute, but I totally get her.
• 29:41
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah.
• 29:42
SPEAKER_01: Three o'clock in the fucking morning.
• 29:43
SPEAKER_01: Mofo, first of all, how do you know her address?
• 29:46
SPEAKER_01: That kind of threw me over.
• 29:47
SPEAKER_01: Like, how do you know where to find her?
• 29:48
  SPEAKER_01: I mean, he's a cop though.
• 29:49
  SPEAKER_01: But he's a cop though.
• 29:50
SPEAKER_01: But I just feel like that's it.
• 29:51
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 29:52
SPEAKER_01: First of all, not only did you not kick me out your house at three o'clock in the morning.
• 29:56
SPEAKER_01: How the fuck do you know where I live?
• 29:58
SPEAKER_01: You're over here creeping with creeperson.
• 30:00
SPEAKER_01: You got me fucked up on so many different levels.
• 30:03
  SPEAKER_01: But that's just me.
• 30:05
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 30:07
  SPEAKER_01: I don't tend to trust people.
• 30:08
  SPEAKER_01: I mean I expect the worst.
• 30:10
SPEAKER_00: Being that Miles kind of vouched for him, I might be willing to give him a second chance.
• 30:17
SPEAKER_00: Only because it's not like it's some stranger.
• 30:21
  SPEAKER_01: Just a cr.
• 30:22
SPEAKER_01: I feel but you know, but there's a certain demographic that's just really has a habit, uh has a history of being, you know, stalkerish.
• 30:34
SPEAKER_00: So no, but I understand her.
• 30:36
SPEAKER_00: And she was she called him on a shit.
• 30:37
SPEAKER_00: She was like, You threw me out of your apartment, and then you think you're gonna apologize with uh sad puppy eyes and a sad uh puppy eyes and a sad sunflower, and that's it.
• 30:48
SPEAKER_00: She closed the door in his face, he takes the beer but leaves the flower.
• 30:53
SPEAKER_00: And the next day, as Miles is leaving the office, he calls him to the car, he gets in, he hands him the folder, Mark Sawyer, and he explains what happened.
• 31:05
SPEAKER_00: And that his only lead is the name Anthony Cooper.
• 31:09
SPEAKER_00: So he went to Australia to follow it.
• 31:11
SPEAKER_00: He says when he finds Cooper, he's gonna kill him.
• 31:13
SPEAKER_00: And Miles asks, why he never told him this.
• 31:17
SPEAKER_00: He says he knew you would talk him out of it.
• 31:20
SPEAKER_00: And Miles is like, yeah, that that checks out.
• 31:23
  SPEAKER_00: No lies detected.
• 31:26
SPEAKER_00: As they speak, they hear a police siren, and then boom, car, a blue car crashes into their car.
• 31:33
SPEAKER_00: The driver jumps out, makes a run for it.
• 31:36
SPEAKER_00: James jumps out, he pursues, he chases, and he captures.
• 31:42
  SPEAKER_00: And who is it?
• 31:44
  SPEAKER_00: It's Kate.
• 31:45
SPEAKER_00: And he recognized her, he recognizes her as the woman that he encountered at LEX and passively helped in evading the law enforcement.
• 31:55
SPEAKER_01: I kind of like half thought he was gonna call it Freckles.
• 32:00
SPEAKER_00: And then you'd be like, how did I know that?
• 32:02
SPEAKER_01: But okay, so what are the odds that you're you know, you're running from the police and a high-speed chase and you hit a cop car?
• 32:11
  SPEAKER_01: Like unmarked.
• 32:12
SPEAKER_01: That is my kind of look, though.
• 32:13
  SPEAKER_01: Like, fuck me.
• 32:17
SPEAKER_00: So that's the end of the episode.
• 32:19
SPEAKER_00: And with this episode, Sawyer becomes the fifth character to have a flashback, flash forward, and a flash sideways episode centered solely around them.
• 32:29
SPEAKER_00: This episode marks the first time the name of Oceanic Flight 815 was specifically mentioned in the Flash Sideways timeline.
• 32:39
  SPEAKER_02: Hmm.
• 32:40
SPEAKER_00: And we're gonna talk about the title.
• 32:42
SPEAKER_00: According to the Official Lost Podcast, the title was intended to be a double meaning.
• 32:48
  SPEAKER_00: On one hand again?
• 32:50
  SPEAKER_00: Recon.
• 32:51
SPEAKER_00: It refers to the reconnaissance that he that that fake lock had him do.
• 32:56
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 32:57
SPEAKER_00: But also re-con, as in like con again.
• 33:04
  SPEAKER_00: And so he's a cop, he's undercover.
• 33:07
SPEAKER_00: Oh he's you know, so it's kind of like a little play on words.
• 33:12
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 33:13
  SPEAKER_01: Interesting.
• 33:15
SPEAKER_00: When Sawyer refers to Charlotte as Indiana Jones, it's an inside joke to Rebecca Mayder's audition where she was supposed to be like a female version of Indiana Jones.
• 33:26
  SPEAKER_01: Oh, that's cute.
• 33:28
SPEAKER_00: And speaking of her, this episode is her first appearance since This Place is Death, which is a 19-episode span.
• 33:38
SPEAKER_00: But the character Charlotte Lewis is only a 19-episode gap because uh follow the leader was um the kid.
• 33:51
SPEAKER_00: You know, the little kid.
• 33:53
SPEAKER_00: Neil Hopkins, who plays Liam Pace, also makes his first appearance since Greatest Hits, a 40 episode span.
• 34:00
SPEAKER_00: And it's also his first appearance outside of a Charlie-centric episode.
• 34:05
SPEAKER_00: This episode was originally broadcast on March 16th, 316, and it addresses the fate of the Flight 316 survivors.
• 34:16
SPEAKER_00: It's the first time the plane has also been shown since Namaste.
• 34:20
SPEAKER_00: The tail number for a Jira Flight 316 was N25705 when it originally appeared in the episode 316.
• 34:31
SPEAKER_00: However, in this episode, the same plane bears the designation N9748C.
• 34:39
SPEAKER_00: In reality, N25705 is the tail number of a Boeing 737 currently in use by United Airlines.
• 34:47
SPEAKER_00: The N9748C is a number reserved by the FAA for film use.
• 34:54
SPEAKER_00: Which is odd that they then used a real number.
• 34:57
  SPEAKER_01: A real one.
• 34:58
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 34:58
SPEAKER_01: We maybe never remind me to like check all tell numbers so I'd never get on that plane.
• 35:05
  SPEAKER_00: That's actually pretty cool.
• 35:07
SPEAKER_00: No, no, it would not be on a plane used in a in a film in a TV show.
• 35:13
SPEAKER_00: You could be like crashed.
• 35:15
SPEAKER_00: We are on, you could tell everybody on board.
• 35:17
SPEAKER_00: Hey, we talked about lost on my podcast, and we're on the plane from it.
• 35:22
  SPEAKER_00: Check it out.
• 35:24
SPEAKER_00: She's looking at me like you're fucking all the good mind.
• 35:29
SPEAKER_01: I think my silence spoke volumes.
• 35:32
  SPEAKER_00: All right.
• 35:33
SPEAKER_00: The man in black, uh, fake lock, reveals that he is the smoked thing to Sawyer, but not to the rest.
• 35:40
SPEAKER_00: And he talks about issues with his mother.
• 35:44
SPEAKER_00: In this, he talks about his growing pains, and the story reflects relationships.
• 35:50
SPEAKER_00: And it's meant to explain kind of the dynamic between Claire and Aaron now, but it can also kind of talk about the relationship between Alex and Danielle, Eloise and Daniel.
• 36:05
  SPEAKER_00: But there's more.
• 36:06
SPEAKER_00: And the more part I can't tell you yet.
• 36:10
  SPEAKER_01: Evil bitch.
• 36:11
  SPEAKER_00: Uh-huh.
• 36:12
  SPEAKER_00: Happy birthday.
• 36:14
  SPEAKER_01: Happy birthday to you.
• 36:17
  SPEAKER_01: Um, trying to think.
• 36:18
  SPEAKER_00: See, there it is.
• 36:19
  SPEAKER_00: Um, yeah, evil bitch.
• 36:21
SPEAKER_01: Um well, considering there's gonna be more to it.
• 36:28
  SPEAKER_01: Okay.
• 36:29
SPEAKER_00: You would take a drink again.
• 36:31
SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna be like drink every time you do one of those things.
• 36:34
SPEAKER_01: Okay, so with the lip smatch.
• 36:37
SPEAKER_00: You were doing that very carefully.
• 36:39
  SPEAKER_00: Yes.
• 36:43
  SPEAKER_01: I hate you.
• 36:45
SPEAKER_01: I don't know if you notice this, but there are times sometimes don't get really tired of that.
• 36:50
  SPEAKER_01: I no, I do this a lot.
• 36:53
  SPEAKER_00: I know it's it's the MS, right?
• 36:54
SPEAKER_01: I'm drooling, yeah, and I like there's something like very, very, very slight muscle weakness.
• 37:01
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 37:01
SPEAKER_01: That I don't notice until I'm like, oh my god.
• 37:09
  SPEAKER_01: I know I'm so embarrassed.
• 37:14
  SPEAKER_01: Oh my god.
• 37:15
SPEAKER_00: It's fun to just fuck with you about it.
• 37:17
SPEAKER_01: You're so good at it.
• 37:19
SPEAKER_01: Okay, so I'm gonna try to see.
• 37:21
SPEAKER_01: Let me see if I can like conjure up an idea about the what was it getting?
• 37:27
  SPEAKER_01: Mothers?
• 37:28
  SPEAKER_01: Yes.
• 37:30
SPEAKER_01: So you is it another relationship that I can't I haven't seen yet between mothers, or is the relationship that's like an all so old?
• 37:41
SPEAKER_00: What do you mean, so old?
• 37:42
SPEAKER_01: Somebody I would never connect to.
• 37:44
SPEAKER_01: It's not a recent relationship between mothers.
• 37:46
  SPEAKER_00: I don't know it yet.
• 37:47
  SPEAKER_01: I don't know it, Shah.
• 37:48
SPEAKER_00: You don't know it yet.
• 37:48
  SPEAKER_01: Could I gather it?
• 37:50
SPEAKER_01: Can I like guess it?
• 37:51
SPEAKER_00: Um, sure, take a shot.
• 37:53
SPEAKER_00: I'm not gonna, I'm I'm probably not gonna confirm or deny.
• 37:56
  SPEAKER_01: No, that's fine.
• 37:56
SPEAKER_01: No, I want something it's like in theory.
• 38:00
SPEAKER_01: I could say, I don't know, maybe we're talking about Penny and her mother.
• 38:03
SPEAKER_01: Obviously, we haven't seen the relationship, but at least we've seen Penny.
• 38:06
SPEAKER_01: So it's something I can guess based on someone I have seen.
• 38:09
  SPEAKER_00: That's actually not a bad guess.
• 38:11
  SPEAKER_01: Oh, it's not a bad guess.
• 38:12
SPEAKER_01: Um that was my first thought since Widmore is back.
• 38:17
SPEAKER_00: I feel well, considering that there's what 10, so that this is actually episode eight, and there's 18 through season six.
• 38:26
SPEAKER_00: So we have 10 more episodes.
• 38:28
SPEAKER_00: So you and the 17 and 18 are the end, part one and part two.
• 38:33
SPEAKER_00: So it might be nine.
• 38:35
  SPEAKER_00: Nine.
• 38:36
SPEAKER_00: So you're gonna find out actually what I'm talking about in less than 10.
• 38:43
SPEAKER_00: I feel like I want to put my little sp, I want to figure something out.
• 38:46
SPEAKER_01: I kind of want to like throw my throw my hat in and see how close I get.
• 38:52
SPEAKER_00: You're running out of episodes to make guesses in.
• 38:55
SPEAKER_00: I know we're starting to wrap up.
• 38:57
SPEAKER_01: I think that's why I'm so insistent on like trying to see how psychic, psycho, psychic I am.
• 39:04
  SPEAKER_01: Um psycho, okay.
• 39:06
SPEAKER_01: Um, I feel like I want to stick with the penny thing because Whitmo's in it, but at the same time, be like, oh, that's a pretty good guess.
• 39:12
SPEAKER_01: I'm like, okay, that's not the answer then.
• 39:14
SPEAKER_01: Like I feel like I'm like, so that's not the answer.
• 39:19
  SPEAKER_00: It's not the answer.
• 39:21
SPEAKER_01: I know, but I'm gonna keep it because, and then next week Ags would come up with like 600 more guesses just to piss Lisa off.
• 39:29
  SPEAKER_01: Bring a bitch.
• 39:32
SPEAKER_01: Bring people if someone just pops in like in the middle of our like seasons, just a random, like, I wonder if they like, hey, do they actually like each other?
• 39:43
SPEAKER_00: Like there's not many people who could be like, fuck this bitch, and I'll be like, I love them so much.
• 39:53
SPEAKER_01: I know, but you know what?
• 39:55
  SPEAKER_01: Real friends do that.
• 39:56
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah, are you okay?
• 40:00
SPEAKER_01: Versus bitch, get your get up, you got more to drink.
• 40:03
SPEAKER_00: You know, all right, let's let's okay, back on track.
• 40:10
SPEAKER_00: Back on track, back to a little bit.
• 40:14
SPEAKER_00: Back to the episode, back to the trivia notes and yada yada yada.
• 40:20
SPEAKER_00: All of the survivors from the Ajira are in a pile.
• 40:24
  SPEAKER_00: Any guesses?
• 40:26
SPEAKER_01: That actually had me stupefied because I was just like, huh?
• 40:34
  SPEAKER_01: I mean, uh-huh.
• 40:39
SPEAKER_01: If could you see me watching it?
• 40:44
SPEAKER_01: I was like, wait, wait, what?
• 40:47
SPEAKER_01: I couldn't even try to like piece together what could have happened because I was like, wait, who what?
• 40:56
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it's just a you know, pile of bodies, let the bodies hit the beach, let the bodies hit the okay.
• 41:02
  SPEAKER_00: Sorry, okay, I've been drinking, and I haven't.
• 41:05
  SPEAKER_00: I haven't.
• 41:05
  SPEAKER_01: What's my excuse?
• 41:06
  SPEAKER_01: Well, I'm I don't know.
• 41:08
  SPEAKER_01: Contagious.
• 41:09
SPEAKER_01: This is just me being normal.
• 41:10
SPEAKER_00: All I've had is leftover Burger King French fries that weren't very good today.
• 41:13
SPEAKER_00: So I don't even know how I'm still standing.
• 41:16
  SPEAKER_00: Um standing I'll stand.
• 41:19
  SPEAKER_00: Okay.
• 41:19
SPEAKER_00: Uh track Lisa and Agnes?
• 41:30
SPEAKER_00: But I just we our episode is in the flash sideways at this point.
• 41:34
SPEAKER_01: We are the flash sideways.
• 41:36
SPEAKER_01: I just when they the bodies like, but where did the bodies come from?
• 41:40
  SPEAKER_01: Who all that?
• 41:40
SPEAKER_01: I thought everyone went to the temple like with Losty's 2.0.
• 41:45
SPEAKER_01: I thought they all went there.
• 41:46
SPEAKER_01: One and a half point oh.
• 41:47
SPEAKER_01: One I like calling 2.0 personally, but I thought I'm like, wait, but didn't they all go?
• 41:53
  SPEAKER_01: I don't remember anyone staying.
• 41:54
SPEAKER_01: I like maybe they did, and I just don't remember.
• 41:58
SPEAKER_01: I was so confused, and I just wanted my mommy.
• 42:04
  SPEAKER_01: I just I was like, I don't know any of this.
• 42:07
SPEAKER_01: I'm like, I'm about to ask Lisa about this.
• 42:09
SPEAKER_01: Like, was there a scene in a previous episode that I forgot?
• 42:12
  SPEAKER_01: I don't remember.
• 42:13
  SPEAKER_01: No.
• 42:14
SPEAKER_01: So where the fuck are these bodies coming from?
• 42:16
SPEAKER_01: Who killed and I get that part?
• 42:20
SPEAKER_01: I'm not gonna think about anymore.
• 42:21
  SPEAKER_01: Okay.
• 42:22
SPEAKER_00: So we and then that there's there's some character connections.
• 42:26
SPEAKER_00: So obviously, we know in the Dharma Initiative, Miles and Sawyer both did security.
• 42:36
SPEAKER_00: So they were not partners, but partners, and now they're partners in the LAPD.
• 42:42
SPEAKER_00: Miles says that his father works at the museum.
• 42:45
SPEAKER_00: But remember, even though we know who his father is, in the main timeline, Miles didn't know who his father was because his mother said that he left him.
• 42:59
SPEAKER_00: So the fact that Miles even acknowledges a father and knows who he is.
• 43:05
SPEAKER_01: Because the event never happened or happened differently, changes their whole future.
• 43:11
SPEAKER_01: So that all kind of makes sense.
• 43:17
SPEAKER_00: Charlotte and Sawyer have a one-night stand.
• 43:20
SPEAKER_00: Charlotte works with Miles' father at the museum.
• 43:23
SPEAKER_00: So it's some fun little oh, and then obviously Sawyer apprehends Kate.
• 43:29
SPEAKER_00: And then it's kind of like one of those things, right, where you're like, okay, but if Sawyer's a cop, why did he let a criminal get away at the airport?
• 43:40
  SPEAKER_01: Because he's like the anti-hero.
• 43:42
SPEAKER_00: Like you know what I mean?
• 43:43
  SPEAKER_00: Yes.
• 43:44
SPEAKER_00: But also I think that the episode puts it in context because he lied about where he was.
• 43:50
  SPEAKER_01: Oh, right, that too.
• 43:52
SPEAKER_00: Because he couldn't exactly just yeah, okay, that's so I think that that's kind of the explanation of well, if if I apprehended her or whatever, then I have to say why I'm here.
• 44:04
SPEAKER_01: Or I would just think because he's still Sawyer.
• 44:06
SPEAKER_01: You know what I mean?
• 44:07
SPEAKER_01: He's still like he's not, he didn't go into a he wasn't a convict, but at the same time, he's personality, still personality.
• 44:14
SPEAKER_01: And you like a little, like a little adding a little oomph to a mix to see what happens is still in his personality.
• 44:21
SPEAKER_01: You know what I mean?
• 44:23
  SPEAKER_01: I hope.
• 44:25
SPEAKER_00: Cultural references, Little House on the Prairie, and that's what he's watching in his house, where Pa Ingalls tells Little Half-Pint that if you live your life based on what's going to happen before you know it, your life is over.
• 44:39
SPEAKER_00: And he also had confessed that to Kate in the original timeline that he used to be a fan of the series.
• 44:47
SPEAKER_00: We see the novel Watership Down on his dresser, and it's about anthropomorphized, I can never say that word, rabbit searching for a new home after one has visions of death approaching their oppressive society.
• 45:03
SPEAKER_00: The rabbits find what they think is utopia, but discover that it's a farm with traps and snares.
• 45:09
SPEAKER_00: They find that they have to live together or die alone while establishing new rules by which to live.
• 45:17
SPEAKER_00: Have you ever read that book?
• 45:19
  SPEAKER_01: No.
• 45:19
SPEAKER_00: I read like half of it and then lost interest.
• 45:23
  SPEAKER_01: I feel like it's another kind of self-prophesizing.
• 45:27
SPEAKER_01: Like you see something's gonna happen, so you try to avoid it, you end up walking right into it.
• 45:32
  SPEAKER_01: Very Oedipus Rex.
• 45:34
SPEAKER_00: A Wrinkle in Time, sci-fi children's novel written in 1962 by Madeline Langle.
• 45:43
  SPEAKER_00: Excuse me.
• 45:44
SPEAKER_00: Also on his uh dresser, the story follows Meg Murray, a teenager who travels in space and time with her younger brother Charles and friend Calvin.
• 45:55
SPEAKER_00: Their mission is to rescue her father, who is a scientist being held prisoner on an alien planet dominated by a large dark cloud called the Black Thing.
• 46:07
SPEAKER_00: I've never read that book.
• 46:09
SPEAKER_00: And it's also funny that the book Watership Down is on his dresser and it's about rabbits, and then in the in the main timeline, he's like, What we're having for dinner, Kate Rabbit.
• 46:20
  SPEAKER_01: Rabbit.
• 46:23
SPEAKER_00: We see the like juxtaposition of in the flash sideways, he's like one word LaFleur, and it summons the cops, and then on the island, Ava whistles and it summons the T-mu Goonies.
• 46:40
  SPEAKER_01: Okay.
• 46:42
  SPEAKER_01: T Mugoonies.
• 46:45
SPEAKER_00: Okay, let's talk about the sonar fence.
• 46:48
SPEAKER_00: What do you think they're up to?
• 46:50
SPEAKER_00: So we know that the I the whole purpose of the fence was to keep the smoke monster out.
• 46:55
SPEAKER_00: So what do you think that they're doing with the sonar fence and why?
• 46:59
SPEAKER_01: I think they're trying to keep the smoke monster on the island.
• 47:03
  SPEAKER_00: Works for me.
• 47:05
SPEAKER_00: Should be what I'm saying.
• 47:07
  SPEAKER_00: Bye guys.
• 47:10
  SPEAKER_01: Oh, I can't stand you.
• 47:12
SPEAKER_00: The next episode is called Ab Eterno.
• 47:16
  SPEAKER_01: Internal abs?
• 47:18
  unknown: Yes.
• 47:20
SPEAKER_00: But it's not spelled like you think it's spelled.
• 47:24
  SPEAKER_00: I don't think it's spelled anyway.
• 47:27
SPEAKER_01: That would require brain cells.
• 47:31
SPEAKER_00: The next episode is a little different from the regular format that we've been used to.
• 47:39
  SPEAKER_00: Really?
• 47:40
  SPEAKER_00: Mm-hmm.
• 47:41
SPEAKER_01: Don't have to be drunk to watch it.
• 47:43
  SPEAKER_01: Just let me know.
• 47:44
  SPEAKER_01: I don't think so.
• 47:44
SPEAKER_01: Because I should, I'll have my all clear by then.
• 47:46
SPEAKER_01: So just let me know.
• 47:48
SPEAKER_00: No, but I think that the episode is gonna connect some dots.
• 47:55
  SPEAKER_01: Ooh, connect the dots.
• 47:57
  SPEAKER_01: La la la la.
• 48:00
SPEAKER_01: If you know, you know.
• 48:02
SPEAKER_00: Uh so being that it's different, I'm curious when we record to see your reaction to it.
• 48:10
  SPEAKER_00: Because, like I said, it's different.
• 48:14
SPEAKER_00: It's gonna you're gonna put it on and be like, what the fuck?
• 48:18
SPEAKER_00: And then you're gonna be able to do that.
• 48:19
SPEAKER_00: Am I going to be confusion?
• 48:21
SPEAKER_00: Maybe for a few minutes.
• 48:23
  SPEAKER_01: I'm gonna be confusion.
• 48:24
  SPEAKER_01: Okay.
• 48:24
SPEAKER_00: You are going to be confusion all over.
• 48:27
  SPEAKER_01: Okay.
• 48:30
SPEAKER_00: But then you're gonna be like, oh, oh, okay.
• 48:33
  SPEAKER_00: It makes sense.
• 48:34
  SPEAKER_01: Okay.
• 48:35
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 48:35
SPEAKER_01: Are you sure I'm gonna get it?
• 48:36
  SPEAKER_01: Because you know, woo-hoo.
• 48:37
SPEAKER_01: Sometimes I'm gonna all right.
• 48:39
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, you're gonna get it.
• 48:41
SPEAKER_00: Anything else before we wrap up?
• 48:43
  SPEAKER_01: No.
• 48:44
SPEAKER_01: Okay, the only thing that I have, oh one thing, I forgot to say this.
• 48:50
SPEAKER_01: Sae's non-reaction to Claire almost killing Kate was so pivotal in his character art for me.
• 49:02
SPEAKER_01: Like he went from no, he went to like you you go in and you help with, you know, you you know, keep things orderly and organized to negative 100 fucks given at this point.
• 49:16
SPEAKER_00: And I'm like, is he so apathetic that it's just like blank stare ahead, and just like I would just like glassy eyes, like he looked like a crackhead on the train.
• 49:30
SPEAKER_01: I think I've seen crackheads on the train with more aware situational awareness.
• 49:34
SPEAKER_01: Okay, I mean, although there are New York crackheads, you always have to be aware so there's that.
• 49:39
SPEAKER_01: Um, so I did again.
• 49:43
SPEAKER_00: He looked like the number four crackhead.
• 49:49
  SPEAKER_00: I hate you.
• 49:52
SPEAKER_00: But you know, on the Fortray, you could count on two things.
• 49:56
SPEAKER_00: You could count on somebody selling batteries and showtime, okay?
• 50:03
  SPEAKER_00: And Said the crackhead.
• 50:05
SPEAKER_01: He said a number, she said the Fortray crackhead, not just any crackhead, the Fortray crackhead.
• 50:12
SPEAKER_01: Um, so yeah, I think I mean, like the last couple episodes he was in, you can see the change.
• 50:20
SPEAKER_01: Like he's been through some shit.
• 50:22
SPEAKER_01: But this is the episode where you're like, uh-uh, oh, there's like there's no turning back now.
• 50:27
SPEAKER_01: This I think we've reached a point of no return.
• 50:30
SPEAKER_00: This is yeah, it's Agnes' birthday.
• 50:34
SPEAKER_00: I mean, it won't be when this episode airs, but it's okay because you didn't know.
• 50:39
SPEAKER_00: So, in honor of Agnes's birthday, how about everyone?
• 50:46
SPEAKER_00: Everyone clap your hands, right?
• 50:49
SPEAKER_00: I'm sorry, and then send a dollar.
• 50:54
  SPEAKER_00: Just one dollar, okay?
• 50:56
SPEAKER_00: It'll help us get to Podfest.
• 50:58
SPEAKER_00: And my dog is crying because it was a firecracker and she's scared, and I have to go comfort her.
• 51:06
SPEAKER_00: Send us your dollars, okay?
• 51:09
SPEAKER_00: And if you want, here's what we're gonna do.
• 51:13
SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna make it even more enticing.
• 51:15
SPEAKER_00: If you send a dollar, we're gonna say thank you.
• 51:19
SPEAKER_00: If you send more than a dollar, if you send two dollars and up, whether it's buy me a coffee or PayPal or whatever, you can also send us a message and we'll read it on air if you want us to.
• 51:31
SPEAKER_00: If you don't want us to, then then we won't.
• 51:33
SPEAKER_00: But yeah, I'm gonna give that to you for Agnes' birthday.
• 51:35
SPEAKER_00: But this is like a one-time thing only, okay?
• 51:38
SPEAKER_00: So get yours in now.
• 51:40
SPEAKER_00: And if you do that, uh send us like a text, like fan mail, or let us know, like so that we know what your message is.
• 51:49
  SPEAKER_00: Next episode Abiturno.
• 51:52
SPEAKER_00: Don't drink and drive, drink responsibly.
• 51:55
  SPEAKER_00: I don't know what else, but I'm Lisa.
• 51:57
SPEAKER_00: And I'm Agnes, and we're out of here.
• 52:00
  SPEAKER_00: Woohoo!
• 52:05
SPEAKER_01: It was my birthday woohoo.
• 52:10
  SPEAKER_00: You're bumping.
• 52:12
SPEAKER_00: You did that the last episode, too.
• 52:13
SPEAKER_00: Oh, I'm just touching and it's bump, bump, boom.
• 52:16
SPEAKER_00: Okay, so I'm so sorry.
• 52:20
SPEAKER_00: You were I forgot what you were passionate about, but that's what I wrote in the show notes, and Ad was passionate, something like that.
• 52:27
