- 1:43Speaker 1: we're talking Christmas Waltz from the twenty twenty Hallmark season.
- 1:47Speaker 1: Do you have a synopsis? Wendy, I sure do you.
- 1:50Speaker 2: A woman dumped by her fiance a month before her story,
- 1:54Speaker 2: but Christmas Wedding decides to take this series of ballroom
- 1:57Speaker 2: lessons intended for her wedding. Dance stars Lacey's Ship Bear.
- 2:04Speaker 1: Yeah you did it.
- 2:06Speaker 2: Will Camp and Katrina Reynolds.
- 2:09Speaker 1: Hey, let's hop into some news and notes about this
- 2:12Speaker 1: movie filmed in Vancouver and Maple Ridge, British Columbia, as
- 2:15Speaker 1: well as the Orpheum Theater.
- 2:18Speaker 2: Fancy super fancy. I have one former Young and the
- 2:23Speaker 2: Restless star, Michael Damien was the director on this movie.
- 2:28Speaker 1: Well, hey, did you watch The Young and the Restless?
- 2:31Speaker 2: No, but I knew the name as soon as I
- 2:33Speaker 2: saw it, Like, I remember what this guy looked like.
- 2:36Speaker 2: I have some other updated news too. So on July
- 2:40Speaker 2: twenty first, twenty twenty one, he tweeted basically, stand by
- 2:45Speaker 2: Christmas Waltz fans and friends because there's some Waltz two
- 2:49Speaker 2: news coming soon. However, however, that was in July. Obviously,
- 2:55Speaker 2: we don't have a Christmas Waltz too this Christmas, right,
- 2:59Speaker 2: He sadly tagged a production company that I can't remember
- 3:04Speaker 2: the name of, but once I did a little bit
- 3:06Speaker 2: of a deep dive, there's some Ghack family connections there.
- 3:09Speaker 2: So I'm hoping a sequel doesn't end up on the
- 3:12Speaker 2: Ghak family channel. Is that possible that I could?
- 3:16Speaker 1: Sure anybody could buy it?
- 3:18Speaker 2: Oh?
- 3:18Speaker 1: Man, I know, you know, it doesn't have to be
- 3:21Speaker 1: a Christmas movie. We could get like a Winter Waltz
- 3:25Speaker 1: follow up in the winter season. Lazy Shabert broke her
- 3:31Speaker 1: toe on a couch while in quarantine before filming this movie.
- 3:34Speaker 2: Oh really, wait, when did this movie film? September eight,
- 3:38Speaker 2: twenty twenty. Okay, so they had been in quarantine was
- 3:42Speaker 2: the year? You know?
- 3:44Speaker 1: Deal, they had to quarantine for two weeks upon arrival
- 3:47Speaker 1: in Canada before filming.
- 3:48Speaker 2: All of these movies. That's when she broke her toe. Indeed,
- 3:52Speaker 2: Oh my god, what a bummer.
- 3:55Speaker 1: Yeah, and she said the show must go on.
- 3:57Speaker 2: Oh whoa. Will Camp is a trained dancer and had
- 4:03Speaker 2: the lead role of the Swan in Swan Lake from
- 4:06Speaker 2: nineteen ninety seven to two thousand in London and on Broadway.
- 4:10Speaker 1: Wow.
- 4:12Speaker 2: Yeah, it's like a real dancer.
- 4:15Speaker 1: Yes, And he said he's a trained dancer, but not
- 4:17Speaker 1: a ballroom dancer, so he had to learn that. But
- 4:20Speaker 1: I think the fact that he's a trained dancer comes
- 4:22Speaker 1: through very strongly in this movie.
- 4:24Speaker 2: M M.
- 4:27Speaker 1: I found Will's nesting dolls in the movie and.
- 4:31Speaker 2: They're on Amazon. I mean, what, let's leave a link
- 4:36Speaker 2: to that in our show notes. But like, nesting dolls
- 4:38Speaker 2: are easy to find, aren't they? Yes?
- 4:41Speaker 1: But I found the ones the Christmas The item listing
- 4:45Speaker 1: is Christmas tree nesting doll's original item featured in the Hallmark.
- 4:48Speaker 2: Movie Oh Wow.
- 4:51Speaker 1: And the description it is a small business on Amazon.
- 4:55Speaker 1: Lots of small businesses stell on Amazon, and it says
- 4:57Speaker 1: we are a husband wife team of woodworkers that make
- 5:00Speaker 1: authentic Russian craft. This Christmas tree is a wonderful piece
- 5:03Speaker 1: of artwork, hand carved from one piece of wood and
- 5:05Speaker 1: hand painted with great details, as well as signed by
- 5:09Speaker 1: the artist. These Nesting dolls are eighty four dollars and
- 5:12Speaker 1: ninety nine cents on Amazon and they have fifteen five
- 5:19Speaker 1: star reviews.
- 5:21Speaker 2: I love nesting dolls. I find those very special, and
- 5:23Speaker 2: I think it's because when I was young, I had
- 5:26Speaker 2: a friend whose parents had visited Russia, like on a
- 5:30Speaker 2: travel trip, and they brought home nesting dolls, and I
- 5:33Speaker 2: remember thinking, like, those were so cool. Maybe I want
- 5:37Speaker 2: to buy those lazy Lacey s Bear I cannover say
- 5:41Speaker 2: their name and will Kemp start together in Love, Romance
- 5:45Speaker 2: and Chocolate In twenty nineteen, did you see that movie?
- 5:48Speaker 1: Did not? Are you ready for first impressions? Sure, this
- 5:52Speaker 1: is the movie that made me love Lacy Shebert as
- 5:55Speaker 1: a Hallmark actress.
- 5:56Speaker 2: Oh really, because you didn't like care before then?
- 6:01Speaker 1: She really has those Claudia Salinger vibes for me. However,
- 6:05Speaker 1: when I watched this movie for the first time, I
- 6:07Speaker 1: did not want to watch it. The title did not
- 6:09Speaker 1: seem like something I would be interested in watching a
- 6:11Speaker 1: movie about ballroom dancing. And I will say I was
- 6:15Speaker 1: wrong then, and I'm wrong now. This movie does it
- 6:20Speaker 1: for me.
- 6:22Speaker 2: My first impression is that this movie is damn delightful.
- 6:28Speaker 2: It's maybe my top Hallmark Christmas movie to date. Wow,
- 6:32Speaker 2: I love it.
- 6:33Speaker 1: I loved it.
- 6:35Speaker 2: Yeah, I loved it.
- 6:37Speaker 1: The past couple of throwback movies we've reviewed, I myself
- 6:41Speaker 1: have done a lot of tearing a part of these movies.
- 6:44Speaker 1: I'm gonna spoiler alert tell you I do not have
- 6:47Speaker 1: that for this movie.
- 6:48Speaker 2: Oh good, Yeah, I don't really either. I have like
- 6:52Speaker 2: maybe some comments about things, but not like any like terrible.
- 6:59Speaker 2: You know, neggave comments?
- 7:01Speaker 1: What did you like about this movie?
- 7:03Speaker 2: The first thing on my list is I really loved
- 7:06Speaker 2: Katrina Reynolds as best friend Mollie. And I think her
- 7:10Speaker 2: name was Mollie. Did we just come off of another
- 7:12Speaker 2: movie name with Mollie? Did God stop using the name Mollie?
- 7:19Speaker 2: Her friend was really funny. I loved her being she
- 7:23Speaker 2: was supportive, Like, yeah, the best friend was great.
- 7:29Speaker 1: I loved the scene where they are doing the practice
- 7:34Speaker 1: dance prior to the big show, and I believe her
- 7:38Speaker 1: name is Arena Is. His partner is not available, and
- 7:43Speaker 1: so Avery has to step in and they dance to
- 7:46Speaker 1: a silent night and it's kind of their breakup dance,
- 7:49Speaker 1: and it is such a beautiful scene and the look
- 7:52Speaker 1: on Lacey's face kills me every time. I think it
- 7:56Speaker 1: is a better scene, even than the final dance on stage.
- 8:01Speaker 1: I love it.
- 8:02Speaker 2: Is that, okay? Question? Is that the scene where they
- 8:07Speaker 2: get into hold in the position to dance and she
- 8:11Speaker 2: goes to look at him and she and he tells her,
- 8:14Speaker 2: you need to turn your head and look the other
- 8:16Speaker 2: way because this is a proper waltz. Yes, that was heartbreaking.
- 8:22Speaker 2: Heart breaking.
- 8:24Speaker 1: He thinks she is back together with her fiance. She
- 8:27Speaker 1: doesn't know what is happening. They've both obviously been falling
- 8:30Speaker 1: for each other, and they're both kind of their hearts
- 8:34Speaker 1: are breaking for different reasons in this moment. I loved
- 8:37Speaker 1: that dance.
- 8:39Speaker 2: Yeah, that's a really good scene. I thought these two
- 8:44Speaker 2: as leads had great chemistry, and you know, that's I'm
- 8:50Speaker 2: always looking for that, Like I'm looking for like sparks
- 8:53Speaker 2: between the two. And of course we're not gonna get
- 8:56Speaker 2: like you know, we're not gonna get like down and
- 8:58Speaker 2: dirty or anything. But I just loved like once they
- 9:03Speaker 2: started dancing, like they were so tender and intimate with
- 9:08Speaker 2: each other, it just was passionate. I just loved it.
- 9:13Speaker 1: I did too, And we've seen other movies where actresses dance,
- 9:17Speaker 1: and I think, as you mentioned recently, I have just
- 9:22Speaker 1: forgotten the name of that movie.
- 9:26Speaker 2: If I only had Christmas.
- 9:27Speaker 1: Yeah, Candice Cameron has a dance scene in that movie,
- 9:30Speaker 1: and it's not a great dance scene. And one thing
- 9:34Speaker 1: she mentions is she wasn't willing to forego her heels
- 9:37Speaker 1: in that movie and therefore wasn't able to dance very
- 9:41Speaker 1: well because she likes to wear these super high heels.
- 9:43Speaker 1: And she even says, I'm no Lacey. Lacey Shapert puts
- 9:47Speaker 1: in the work to be a great dancer in this movie.
- 9:52Speaker 1: And it's not like there's all these cut scenes of
- 9:55Speaker 1: these close ups. It's her and she's dancing and she's rate.
- 10:01Speaker 2: There is kind of because you said that. Everything I
- 10:06Speaker 2: read online said that she learned to dance for this movie.
- 10:10Speaker 2: But I swear there was like one scene like where
- 10:14Speaker 2: we never saw her face and I wondered if it
- 10:16Speaker 2: wasn't her.
- 10:19Speaker 1: Well, I read an interview she did three weeks of
- 10:21Speaker 1: training at home and then nine days of intensive training
- 10:24Speaker 1: on set, and there's an Instagram photo of her and
- 10:30Speaker 1: Will Kemp and then their dance instructor. So there may
- 10:34Speaker 1: have been a scene where they use a body double,
- 10:36Speaker 1: but she definitely did some dance training and quite a
- 10:39Speaker 1: bit of the dancing.
- 10:40Speaker 2: Is her Get That Girl and Dancing with the Stars.
- 10:44Speaker 1: Has she been on Dancing with the Stars?
- 10:46Speaker 2: You know, I don't know. I doubt it. Let me la,
- 10:50Speaker 2: she might not be a big enough name. What there
- 10:54Speaker 2: are some real low level people on that show. She
- 10:56Speaker 2: would be totally big enough. I see, Oh my gosh,
- 11:01Speaker 2: it's the number one Google search thing that just comes up.
- 11:04Speaker 1: Oh that is so funny.
- 11:06Speaker 2: I don't think she's been on It doesn't look like
- 11:09Speaker 2: she's been on there. Well, I have so much more
- 11:13Speaker 2: respect for her now to see that, Like she put
- 11:15Speaker 2: in the work for the dance dancing scenes in this movie. Yes,
- 11:19Speaker 2: you know, yeah, that's hard on top of like learning
- 11:22Speaker 2: your lines. Well, I you know, think about it. Dancing
- 11:25Speaker 2: with the Stars pulls in big numbers every week. Right,
- 11:29Speaker 2: they have an audience, and so I could maybe assume
- 11:33Speaker 2: that it could be a similar audience that watches Hallmark movies.
- 11:38Speaker 2: You know.
- 11:39Speaker 1: Oh yes, yeah, so a movie.
- 11:42Speaker 2: About ballroom dancing. Could I don't know. It was a
- 11:45Speaker 2: good movie.
- 11:47Speaker 1: Yeah, it's like a double whammy for these people.
- 11:49Speaker 2: Yes, yeah, yeah, yeah, Okay, I have some a couple
- 11:53Speaker 2: more things that I really liked. Okay, you said you
- 12:01Speaker 2: really like that scene where they're dancing a silent night.
- 12:07Speaker 2: I loved the scene when they're just casually strolling down
- 12:11Speaker 2: the city street and then they bust into like singing
- 12:14Speaker 2: in the rain style. I mean that, like my head exploded.
- 12:19Speaker 2: That is the scene that had me. I'm like, I'm
- 12:22Speaker 2: all in on this movie, Like I loved it so much.
- 12:27Speaker 1: So yeah, and the dancing was actually good in that
- 12:29Speaker 1: scene they were just goofing around. I really liked it too.
- 12:33Speaker 1: And I read an interview they filmed that very late
- 12:35Speaker 1: at night and there were some people unaffiliated with the
- 12:37Speaker 1: movie just like crossing the street, like what is happening?
- 12:40Speaker 1: But so fun, although dude just got a concussion from
- 12:45Speaker 1: dancing in the snow and then he's dancing in the snow.
- 12:49Speaker 2: Watch out for that ice. And loved how Mollie and
- 12:52Speaker 2: Avery got so dressed up for the show at the end.
- 12:55Speaker 1: And we loved her dress, oh so did I.
- 12:58Speaker 2: But we had talked about dressed up for the holidays
- 13:02Speaker 2: in our review of a Shoe Attics Christmas, and I thought, like,
- 13:07Speaker 2: that's the same same thing, Like they got all dressed
- 13:09Speaker 2: up for like a show, you know, a play. Like
- 13:13Speaker 2: we just don't get dressed up for stuff like that anymore.
- 13:16Speaker 2: So it just made it feel so special. I Yeah,
- 13:18Speaker 2: that was cool.
- 13:20Speaker 1: I was going to ask, do you ever dress up
- 13:22Speaker 1: for the holidays?
- 13:23Speaker 2: No? Never jeans and a sweater.
- 13:27Speaker 1: I know, I really want to. I want to do
- 13:30Speaker 1: it up a little bit, a little bit more, just
- 13:33Speaker 1: a touch this year, even for we have like tickets
- 13:37Speaker 1: to a Christmas light thing locally, and I was like, well,
- 13:41Speaker 1: maybe like wear something cute and festive. Not a dress, obviously,
- 13:44Speaker 1: I'm going to be in jeans, but like maybe a
- 13:47Speaker 1: cute red beanie. I don't know, guys, maybe I'm going
- 13:51Speaker 1: all in on the Christmas this year.
- 13:53Speaker 2: Well, I will tell you. Like last Christmas Eve, we
- 13:56Speaker 2: got together at my parents' house, socially distanced. We sat
- 13:59Speaker 2: out in the backyard and my stepmom had got really
- 14:02Speaker 2: dressed up and I came in like jeans and a
- 14:05Speaker 2: sweater because I was like, we're going to be in
- 14:06Speaker 2: the backyard right right, And I was like, why are
- 14:09Speaker 2: you so dressed up? She's like, look, what have I
- 14:11Speaker 2: got to be dressed up for it? This year? Like?
- 14:13Speaker 2: This is it? You? Know so. But now now that
- 14:17Speaker 2: we can get back out, I'm sorry, bless you. Now
- 14:21Speaker 2: that we can get back out there, like it feels like,
- 14:24Speaker 2: oh yeah, let's make it a thing. You know.
- 14:27Speaker 1: Yes, I was actually just scrolling through my photos to
- 14:29Speaker 1: see did I dress up last year for Christmas? I'm
- 14:32Speaker 1: guessing the answer is no. We did see my parents.
- 14:35Speaker 1: It was just my family and my parents. It was
- 14:38Speaker 1: not my brother wasn't there. My aunt and uncle were
- 14:41Speaker 1: not there. No, we are in. All of us are
- 14:44Speaker 1: in jeans. Oh I am actually in case anybody's wondering,
- 14:49Speaker 1: And only I remember, I'm wearing like a wide leg
- 14:52Speaker 1: pant and a seat, so I'm like slightly not in jeans.
- 14:55Speaker 1: You cannot see it in the photos. I just know
- 14:57Speaker 1: looking at this photo that oh, yes, that's what I
- 15:00Speaker 1: I'm wearing. But yes, we're having our Christmas party this year.
- 15:04Speaker 1: It's been two years since our last one. I think
- 15:07Speaker 1: I think I'm going all in and this movie. Excuse me,
- 15:10Speaker 1: this episode is being released after Christmas. But check our
- 15:16Speaker 1: instagram because I think there may be some photos. I
- 15:18Speaker 1: think I may have to have to go in.
- 15:21Speaker 2: I think you should. I definitely think you should, and
- 15:23Speaker 2: you won't see me in those pictures because I did
- 15:26Speaker 2: not go to the party. I'm going to be out
- 15:28Speaker 2: of town. She was invited, let's be I was invited
- 15:32Speaker 2: and I would have gone. But we will be in
- 15:35Speaker 2: New York. So maybe I will drop a picture or
- 15:38Speaker 2: two in our Instagram of me in New York.
- 15:41Speaker 1: Please, And I would like it to be noted that
- 15:43Speaker 1: I cannot adjust the date of the Christmas party because
- 15:45Speaker 1: it is around a specific event. So it's not that
- 15:48Speaker 1: I planned it for when Wendy without a town. And
- 15:50Speaker 1: as a matter of fact, I even changed the day
- 15:52Speaker 1: of the party and checked in with Wendy to see
- 15:54Speaker 1: if that would affect her ability to come. So let's
- 15:57Speaker 1: just put all of that out there. Also, you're going
- 16:00Speaker 1: to be here for Christmas. Maybe your dress up, maybe
- 16:02Speaker 1: we go all in, let's.
- 16:03Speaker 2: Do it, Okay, anything else you liked, that's it?
- 16:11Speaker 1: Okay, what did you wish for?
- 16:16Speaker 2: Look, her ex David did not need to come back
- 16:18Speaker 2: into this movie at all. There was no reason for
- 16:22Speaker 2: him to come back and create tension between Roman and
- 16:24Speaker 2: David over Avery, like it did not need to happen. Now,
- 16:27Speaker 2: I understand that they needed to create tension between Avery
- 16:31Speaker 2: and Roman for like that scene that you love so much,
- 16:37Speaker 2: maybe a different misunderstanding or so, I don't know.
- 16:40Speaker 1: Yeah, what is the misunderstanding we would have liked to
- 16:42Speaker 1: see there?
- 16:44Speaker 2: Yeah that I don't know. I mean it makes sense,
- 16:51Speaker 2: but I don't know. Could he just have gotten really
- 16:55Speaker 2: mad that she was getting so irritated about not having
- 16:58Speaker 2: someone answer the phone. I don't know. Oh, I have
- 17:00Speaker 2: no idea. I don't know either.
- 17:05Speaker 1: And how clueless does Avery's ex have to be that
- 17:09Speaker 1: they have this breakup that is so low key? She's like, yeah, dude,
- 17:14Speaker 1: I'm just not feeling it. Like, obviously you do not care.
- 17:17Speaker 1: She messengers the ring back to him. They have no
- 17:20Speaker 1: further communication. There's no like, hey, can you help me
- 17:23Speaker 1: return these wedding gifts? Or there's no even moment where
- 17:28Speaker 1: they kind of get together and have this kind of
- 17:31Speaker 1: like oh, we're really sad that it's over. It's just over.
- 17:34Speaker 1: Clearly she doesn't care that much. Obviously he doesn't care
- 17:37Speaker 1: at all. When he comes back and he's like, hey,
- 17:40Speaker 1: I can be in New York. It's convenient for us
- 17:41Speaker 1: to get married. No, nobody believes that that is going
- 17:44Speaker 1: to happen. I also agree that I would have liked
- 17:49Speaker 1: to see a little more thought put into what the
- 17:52Speaker 1: conflict could have been. And in another movie, I don't
- 17:56Speaker 1: know what it is, and I don't even know if
- 17:58Speaker 1: it's a Hallmark movie, but there's some conflict over the
- 18:01Speaker 1: business plan situation, like somebody, yeah, it's a business plan,
- 18:06Speaker 1: perhaps against the other person's wishes. And as I was watching,
- 18:10Speaker 1: I couldn't remember if that was this movie, it clearly
- 18:13Speaker 1: was not. He was very happy for her support, and
- 18:15Speaker 1: I actually really like that scene where they're sitting in
- 18:18Speaker 1: what will be his future dance studio, kind of going
- 18:21Speaker 1: over it together, and there's not this like, oh, I'm
- 18:24Speaker 1: a fancy lawyer and I know more than you. They
- 18:26Speaker 1: just kind of get into it and she's helping him
- 18:28Speaker 1: with it. There was an ending to that sentence that
- 18:32Speaker 1: I couldn't find, so I just got caught up at
- 18:36Speaker 1: the end there. I just feel like sometimes we have
- 18:42Speaker 1: these moments where there's chemistry. There's two people who were
- 18:44Speaker 1: obviously meant to be together, and so when we create conflict,
- 18:49Speaker 1: it feels manufactured.
- 18:51Speaker 2: Totally.
- 18:52Speaker 1: Yeah, I think maybe the conflict could have been she
- 18:56Speaker 1: pulls back a little bit because she's just gotten out
- 18:59Speaker 1: of this relationship she was supposed to get married. She
- 19:02Speaker 1: now clearly has these feelings for Roman, and she maybe
- 19:06Speaker 1: tries to put a little distance there.
- 19:10Speaker 2: Yeah, that would have been good.
- 19:13Speaker 1: Call us Hallmark Movies by Megan A Wendy coming soon?
- 19:18Speaker 2: Oh my god, I wish uh Before we move on
- 19:21Speaker 2: to did you see that? I have a question for you. Okay,
- 19:24Speaker 2: if you were to have a Christmas wedding, would you
- 19:28Speaker 2: have picked out a nutcracker themed wedding cake? No? Yeah, right,
- 19:33Speaker 2: like doesn't need it. Don't hit me over the head
- 19:35Speaker 2: with it. Like I get that you're getting married at
- 19:38Speaker 2: Christmas time.
- 19:39Speaker 1: If I had a Christmas wedding, I would not have
- 19:41Speaker 1: a Christmas themed wedding. I may go in on winter colors.
- 19:45Speaker 1: I could see like using a you know, a deep
- 19:48Speaker 1: green as an accent. But no, I would not have
- 19:51Speaker 1: anything Christmas related at my wedding at all. And I
- 19:56Speaker 1: am a Christmas person. We are recording this episode on
- 19:59Speaker 1: when November seventeenth, my house is head to toe Christmas,
- 20:03Speaker 1: and I would not have a Christmas wedding.
- 20:04Speaker 2: You wouldn't want like huge candy cane cutouts or no Santa,
- 20:10Speaker 2: an actual Santa at your wedding. Could you imagine.
- 20:13Speaker 1: I bet people have done it. Oh, I guarantee you.
- 20:17Speaker 1: People have had Christmas weddings just like they have Halloween
- 20:21Speaker 1: weddings where their guests come in costume.
- 20:23Speaker 2: No, god, that's so funny. Okay, let's talk about did
- 20:27Speaker 2: you see that I have just one as do I?
- 20:32Speaker 1: Okay, I'll want to hear yours.
- 20:34Speaker 2: Okay, So they go over to Roman's house his family house,
- 20:39Speaker 2: right and earlier in the movie. This is kind of
- 20:44Speaker 2: confusing for me, but earlier in the movie they established
- 20:46Speaker 2: that he's Russian. But then she asks, why do you
- 20:49Speaker 2: have a British accent? Is that some sort of joke
- 20:52Speaker 2: like I didn't get He just no.
- 20:55Speaker 1: Maybe he just says like he went to school in London,
- 20:58Speaker 1: So maybe that's their way of explaining away his British
- 21:02Speaker 1: accent even though he's Russian in the movie.
- 21:05Speaker 2: Okay, Well, then we go to his house and his
- 21:11Speaker 2: the mom who's like super lovely and she like gets
- 21:14Speaker 2: avery into like stirring things and whatever. She doesn't have
- 21:17Speaker 2: a lick of an accent, not one. She doesn't say
- 21:20Speaker 2: a lot, but she does not have an accent.
- 21:23Speaker 1: Every once in a while, it feels to me like
- 21:25Speaker 1: she falls into like a very light accent, but she
- 21:28Speaker 1: doesn't stay in it. I agree, Yeah, okay, yeah, okay,
- 21:35Speaker 1: my did you see that? Comes from a place of
- 21:37Speaker 1: having watched three movies in one day, and it is
- 21:39Speaker 1: possible that my brain crossed wires. But I do believe
- 21:44Speaker 1: there's a scene when Lacey is walking because this movie
- 21:47Speaker 1: is set in New York, although it is not filmed there,
- 21:50Speaker 1: and she walks past the giant Christmas ornaments? Do you
- 21:54Speaker 1: happen to recall that scene in your brain?
- 21:57Speaker 2: H No?
- 21:59Speaker 1: Well, the reason it's my is because that is in
- 22:01Speaker 1: New York City. It is on Sixth Avenue. It is
- 22:03Speaker 1: near Radio City Music Hall. My husband and I have
- 22:06Speaker 1: been to New York during the holidays easily eight or
- 22:10Speaker 1: nine times. I have walked past that twenty times in
- 22:13Speaker 1: my life, so it is a memorable moment to me.
- 22:16Speaker 1: And I am almost positive that it is a lazy Shabert,
- 22:19Speaker 1: not Candace Cameron Beret in a shoe at ex Christmas
- 22:22Speaker 1: walking past that scene, which is weird because okay, all
- 22:28Speaker 1: of this to say that must have been a green screen.
- 22:31Speaker 1: I didn't bump on that being a green screen until
- 22:34Speaker 1: I was after watching looking up where this movie was
- 22:37Speaker 1: filmed so that I could write my notes for this podcast,
- 22:40Speaker 1: and now I need to go back and see does
- 22:42Speaker 1: it look like that's a green screen?
- 22:44Speaker 2: How does this happen? I'm gonna pull it up right now.
- 22:47Speaker 2: Where in the movie that it occurs.
- 22:50Speaker 1: There's so many New York b real scenes there it is?
- 22:54Speaker 1: Where is it at? It's just b roll though it
- 22:56Speaker 1: is one hour, seventeen minutes and forty five seconds. Can
- 23:01Speaker 1: I take a screenshot? Okay, so she does not walk there,
- 23:06Speaker 1: just be roll. And now, having rewatched the entire movie
- 23:09Speaker 1: in two second increments, I can tell you that there
- 23:12Speaker 1: is hit you over the head amounts of New York
- 23:15Speaker 1: City be role, which really does a good job of
- 23:17Speaker 1: setting the scene. It's kind of subtle because my brain
- 23:21Speaker 1: remembered it as her walking there, so it does set
- 23:24Speaker 1: the scene really well. All that to say, that is
- 23:27Speaker 1: not a digitsu that moment.
- 23:28Speaker 2: It's just be roll.
- 23:32Speaker 1: But they do do a lot of iconic New York
- 23:35Speaker 1: City Central Park and snow and when you are in
- 23:37Speaker 1: New York, you should walk by those balls because it's
- 23:40Speaker 1: kind of a fun thing to see. You'll be right there.
- 23:43Speaker 2: Maybe I'll just like walk by. I'll make my family
- 23:45Speaker 2: take a video of me walk and buy the ball. Yes,
- 23:47Speaker 2: I'll recreate the moment for you.
- 23:49Speaker 1: Please do. Although it's gonna be crowded there, but it's
- 23:52Speaker 1: up on some steps like you can you can get
- 23:54Speaker 1: close to it. Please take a photo there for me. Please.
- 23:57Speaker 2: I beg you for Instagram. Alright, I will.
- 24:01Speaker 1: Oh my gosh, well that was a wild ride. What
- 24:05Speaker 1: is your did you see that? Did we do it already?
- 24:07Speaker 1: I don't know, it was like ten minutes ago.
- 24:09Speaker 2: I'm ready to give my rating.
- 24:12Speaker 1: What did you rate this movie?
- 24:15Speaker 2: I've never done this before. It's a four from Willy.
- 24:20Speaker 1: It's such a four star movie, isn't it.
- 24:23Speaker 2: It totally is. Yeah. I love it, loved it, loved
- 24:26Speaker 2: it so much. I will totally watch it again. I
- 24:28Speaker 2: might throw it on after this after we wrap up here.
- 24:32Speaker 1: I chose the order of the airing of these podcasts
- 24:35Speaker 1: mostly randomly, but perhaps in the back of my mind,
- 24:38Speaker 1: I was doing it in order of least to most favorite.
- 24:42Speaker 1: But this is airing last, and I do feel like
- 24:44Speaker 1: this is a great final Girls Gone Hallmark episode of
- 24:48Speaker 1: the holiday season of twenty twenty one. Our next episode
- 24:53Speaker 1: will be in twenty twenty two.
- 24:56Speaker 3: Ah wow, so I just want to say to everybody listening,
- 25:02Speaker 3: thank you from the bottom of our hearts for being
- 25:04Speaker 3: listeners of this podcast, for supporting us with your listens
- 25:07Speaker 3: and with your reviews.
- 25:09Speaker 1: We hope you all have a fantastic new Year. We
- 25:12Speaker 1: are coming back twenty twenty two, will be here with
- 25:15Speaker 1: a Tuesday episode and we will be back with Girls
- 25:20Speaker 1: Gone hall Mark.
- 25:21Speaker 2: I love Mark, I love the question Mark.
- 25:27Speaker 1: Maybe we are recording this on November seventeenth. We have
- 25:32Speaker 1: many Christmas movies to get through, so we will see
- 25:34Speaker 1: how Wendy feels six weeks from now.
- 25:37Speaker 2: Yeah. Well, as long as they just don't serve up
- 25:41Speaker 2: New Year's Resolution or whatever that stupid ass movie was,
- 25:45Speaker 2: then I'm good.
- 25:46Speaker 1: I need to ask you to rewatch that with the
- 25:48Speaker 1: lens of the rest of the twenty twenty one movies
- 25:50Speaker 1: in mind.
- 25:51Speaker 2: I'll try.
- 25:52Speaker 1: Thanks guys, have a very happy New Year. Goodbye bye
