- 0:41Speaker 2: discretion is advised.
- 0:52Speaker 3: It's showtime folks. Enjoy the show.
- 0:58Speaker 1: Our nuclear reactor pumping out one million.
- 1:02Speaker 4: Kilowatts of power.
- 1:28Speaker 2: What's up and welcome to Movie Meltdown.
- 1:29Speaker 5: I'm Brian. And I'm Ryan.
- 1:30Speaker 3: And we are coming to you live via digital recording from.
- 1:34Speaker 6: Sink or Swim Gallery.
- 1:58Speaker 7: And it is Krampus night. The festivities are out of control. Ryan,
- 2:06Speaker 7: have you contained yourself so far this evening?
- 2:09Speaker 2: I've tried to as best as possible.
- 2:11Speaker 8: It's hard to do. We've been watching some crazy, ridiculous movies.
- 2:14Speaker 2: Yeah, definitely.
- 2:15Speaker 8: Let's do the rundown. We've got, I mean, just since
- 2:18Speaker 8: this party started, what did we start with?
- 2:21Speaker 2: We started with the classic Mummy.
- 2:24Speaker 8: Mummy. All right.
- 2:25Speaker 2: And then we moved on to It Came from Outer Space,
- 2:29Speaker 2: Forbidden Planet. Oh, what was the other one? I was
- 2:34Speaker 2: trying to think of how to make a monster, and
- 2:35Speaker 2: then we followed that up with I Was a Teenage Frankenstein.
- 2:38Speaker 8: There we go. Which totally went hand in hand. And
- 2:40Speaker 8: probably the crown jewel of this evening would be Phallus
- 2:45Speaker 8: and Wendell. Oh, yeah.
- 2:46Speaker 2: Totally forgot about that. I mean, that was the most
- 2:50Speaker 2: recent movie that we watched.
- 2:52Speaker 8: Yeah, that was pretty impressive.
- 2:54Speaker 2: You can't go wrong with GWAR.
- 2:55Speaker 7: And it seemed to entertain the people passing by. They
- 2:59Speaker 7: came in to look for fine art. They turned around
- 3:02Speaker 7: and saw the cutoff fish.
- 3:03Speaker 6: Fine art.
- 3:04Speaker 8: And once again, yes.
- 3:06Speaker 7: Very impressive art that they were. So, we're getting into
- 3:13Speaker 7: Krampus tonight and this episode. How versed in Krampus lore
- 3:18Speaker 7: are you?
- 3:19Speaker 2: Not very well. Not as much as I want to be,
- 3:22Speaker 2: I guess I should say.
- 3:23Speaker 8: I feel like it didn't really pick up until about
- 3:25Speaker 8: four or five years ago. I remember the first time really.
- 3:28Speaker 7: Discussing it was on the show. And it was, again,
- 3:32Speaker 7: it was like Christmas maybe four years ago. That's kind
- 3:35Speaker 7: of the first time most of the people were like,
- 3:37Speaker 7: what are you talking about?
- 3:37Speaker 8: That's made up. No, it's been around for hundreds of years.
- 3:40Speaker 8: It's okay.
- 3:41Speaker 2: Yeah, I remember seeing a book of postcards from Germany
- 3:45Speaker 2: that featured nothing but classic vintage Krampus.
- 3:48Speaker 8: It's crazy German.
- 3:50Speaker 6: So awesome.
- 3:50Speaker 2: Yeah, I was enthralled. After that, it didn't matter. Christmas
- 3:55Speaker 2: was Krampus.
- 3:55Speaker 8: That's the thing.
- 3:56Speaker 7: I kept looking, doing more stuff on this, and I
- 3:59Speaker 7: just kept finding more and more old vintage artwork of him.
- 4:03Speaker 7: I'm just like, Good lord, they are all disturbing.
- 4:07Speaker 8: They're all impressively done. It's not like it was half-ass artists.
- 4:11Speaker 7: They were bringing in really good artists to do these
- 4:14Speaker 7: disturbing images of Krampus.
- 4:16Speaker 8: Eating children and bagging them and just whistling the.
- 4:18Speaker 2: Crap out of.
- 4:20Speaker 8: Them. It's really strange.
- 4:23Speaker 2: I think that if they still have that legend today
- 4:27Speaker 2: as it used to be, kids would be a lot nicer.
- 4:30Speaker 8: More than ever need Krampus. Now, more than ever. That's
- 4:35Speaker 8: our tagline for this episode. Now, more than ever, we
- 4:38Speaker 8: need Krampus.
- 4:39Speaker 2: He's the reason for the season.
- 4:41Speaker 8: He should be.
- 4:43Speaker 7: Kids everywhere need him. So, have you seen any Krampus films?
- 4:49Speaker 7: Because I also found out there's a lot of them.
- 4:51Speaker 8: Going into this. Pre-this year.
- 4:55Speaker 2: Seen some pretty bad ones.
- 4:56Speaker 8: Thank you.
- 4:57Speaker 4: Was it just me?
- 4:58Speaker 2: Almost like cast-off sci-fi type movies with horrible CG that
- 5:02Speaker 2: look It made Xena Warrior Princess look like Oscar material.
- 5:06Speaker 8: Sadly, I think that's the one I was watching the
- 5:09Speaker 8: other day.
- 5:09Speaker 7: I was just like, is this 1997 CG technology?
- 5:13Speaker 2: I think my favorite, though, still has to be Santa
- 5:15Speaker 2: Claus vs. the Martians. Even though they don't call him Krampus,
- 5:19Speaker 2: he's a red-horned devil guy fighting Santa Claus.
- 5:22Speaker 8: That's pretty awesome.
- 5:24Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 5:25Speaker 8: And we're not.
- 5:26Speaker 7: Well, so far, we're not doing that this year.
- 5:28Speaker 8: Maybe we need to do that.
- 5:29Speaker 7: As our next holiday film. I think we should come
- 5:32Speaker 7: back to that one. So we'll put that on the
- 5:34Speaker 7: back burner for now. Have you seen anything lately or
- 5:38Speaker 7: any other interesting movies you'd like to tell people to
- 5:42Speaker 7: go check out?
- 5:42Speaker 2: I'm trying to think because, I mean, here recently I
- 5:46Speaker 2: haven't really watched movies at night. Well, I mean, I'll
- 5:48Speaker 2: watch my old VHSs. But, you know, I haven't really
- 5:52Speaker 2: checked out anything new, so I'm kind of out of
- 5:54Speaker 2: the loop of a lot of stuff.
- 5:56Speaker 7: Other than the ones you just mentioned, what was your
- 5:58Speaker 7: favorite VHS book?
- 6:01Speaker 8: You've got a nice collection down there. I was perusing
- 6:03Speaker 8: them earlier.
- 6:04Speaker 2: That's just a drop in the bucket, too. I'm pretty
- 6:07Speaker 2: proud of the VHS.
- 6:08Speaker 8: Again, you guys can be envious.
- 6:09Speaker 7: Phallus and Wonderland is on VHS, as it probably was
- 6:13Speaker 7: intended to be.
- 6:14Speaker 2: I've got Ragnarok as well. I almost brought that, too.
- 6:17Speaker 8: Speaking of crazy, sort of... That's more Scandinavian folklore.
- 6:24Speaker 2: My favorite of my VHS collection would have to be...
- 6:28Speaker 2: It's like a half hour to 45 minutes of nothing
- 6:31Speaker 2: but the ultimate warrior intros and commercials.
- 6:35Speaker 7: Was this released commercially or did you just take this
- 6:38Speaker 7: off TV yourself? Because I used to have some weird
- 6:41Speaker 7: things of like conglomerations of stuff that I'm like cutting
- 6:43Speaker 7: out commercials and editing it myself in the VCR. And yeah,
- 6:48Speaker 7: I think back on some of the ones I made myself.
- 6:51Speaker 7: So that wouldn't surprise me like you sat.
- 6:53Speaker 2: At home doing it. It's a WWF release tape complete
- 6:56Speaker 2: with cover.
- 7:00Speaker 8: Does it have fancy artwork on it? Did they get
- 7:01Speaker 8: some Krampus artwork? I wish. That would be awesome.
- 7:05Speaker 2: When Krampus takes his costume off, he is the ultimate warrior.
- 7:08Speaker 8: And he's cramming kids into a sack and beating them
- 7:11Speaker 8: with a stick.
- 7:13Speaker 6: Nice.
- 7:17Speaker 7: Well, it's been fun here so far. We're trying to
- 7:20Speaker 7: hold down the fort. The kids are getting out of control.
- 7:22Speaker 7: There's been spills. They've been knocking art off the walls.
- 7:26Speaker 7: It's kind of out of control.
- 7:28Speaker 2: The art is actually safe.
- 7:29Speaker 8: And the kids we're speaking of are not really kids.
- 7:33Speaker 8: I mean, they are mentally, but anyway.
- 7:35Speaker 2: We're all kids.
- 7:37Speaker 8: Again, I was right there. That's why we're.
- 7:38Speaker 2: Standing in the second floor of some weird little office
- 7:41Speaker 2: building talking about VHS movies.
- 7:42Speaker 8: Trying to escape from the noisy children downstairs.
- 7:46Speaker 2: It's just like Christmas.
- 7:47Speaker 8: Yeah, we'll go downstairs. The kids will already have the
- 7:51Speaker 8: presents half on their hands.
- 7:52Speaker 2: What are you doing?
- 7:53Speaker 8: I said wait for me. I can tell it's taped back.
- 7:55Speaker 2: Come on.
- 7:57Speaker 8: None of them's getting a pony.
- 7:58Speaker 2: No. No, they don't deserve it. Little bastards.
- 8:02Speaker 7: Well, we did see a movie this week, but I
- 8:05Speaker 7: don't think you've gotten out to see this one. As
- 8:06Speaker 7: you said, you've not watched recent movies.
- 8:09Speaker 2: Not yet.
- 8:09Speaker 8: So I had to convince, and by convince, she told
- 8:13Speaker 8: me we were going to go see it months ago
- 8:14Speaker 8: on the show. She was like, we're going to see
- 8:16Speaker 8: that Krampus movie. I'm like, all right, I guess that's
- 8:18Speaker 8: a Krampus episode. So I was, again, in my mind
- 8:23Speaker 8: working on this as well. I was like, well, then
- 8:25Speaker 8: we need to do a Krampus live event. With giant Krampus.
- 8:28Speaker 8: We need to make a giant paper mache Krampus for
- 8:30Speaker 8: next time. Totally.
- 8:32Speaker 7: But, yeah, so we did venture out into the world
- 8:36Speaker 7: and see the new, most recent, sadly there's been a
- 8:40Speaker 7: couple this year, I think, if you count the other
- 8:42Speaker 7: bad straight-to-DVD ones.
- 8:44Speaker 8: But the one in the theater.
- 8:44Speaker 2: We'll have to check out those, too.
- 8:46Speaker 8: We went to see the new and real Krampus movie.
- 8:49Speaker 7: So I think we should go discuss that right now.
- 8:58Speaker 9: Silent night, scary night Krampus creeps up to give you
- 9:07Speaker 9: fright You've been naughty, lazy and bad So I'll steal
- 9:14Speaker 9: you from your mommy and dad Eat you piece by piece.
- 9:29Speaker 6: Golden, pure, creamery butter.
- 9:31Speaker 1: Rich, flavorful, satisfying.
- 9:32Speaker 2: That's what it takes for the finest.
- 9:34Speaker 9: Buttered popcorn, and that's what we use. See for yourself why.
- 9:37Speaker 1: There's no showtime treat to equal the crisp, delicious flavor
- 9:41Speaker 1: of hot popcorn that's bathed in real melted butter.
- 9:44Speaker 2: It's at the concession stand now.
- 9:46Speaker 7: This episode is brought to you by Crosley Turntables. Starting
- 9:49Speaker 7: back in 1920, the Crosley Company produced the first low-price
- 9:52Speaker 7: radio for the general public. And ever since, they've been

- 9:58Speaker 7: continues today as Crossley works to expand their product line
- 10:01Speaker 7: creating vintage inspired electronics featuring the latest technologies such as
- 10:05Speaker 7: ipod decks bluetooth and mp3 capabilities so to find out
- 10:09Speaker 7: more about their turntables just go to crossleyradio.com there you'll

- 10:19Speaker 7: and pick out which turntable you need.
- 10:23Speaker 3: Get more out of life. Go out to a movie.
- 10:28Speaker 8: Out of town.
- 10:30Speaker 2: Out of town. Out of the night.
- 10:34Speaker 10: Out of town. With those holiday.
- 10:38Speaker 8: Greetings and games.
- 10:46Speaker 2: How are we going to survive Christmas with 12 people
- 10:48Speaker 2: stuck in.
- 10:48Speaker 8: A house with no heat and no electricity?
- 10:50Speaker 5: Or food.
- 10:51Speaker 2: There's plenty of leftovers, Howard.
- 10:53Speaker 4: Beer it is.
- 10:54Speaker 8: It's the weirdest thing. There's no cars, no people.
- 10:57Speaker 11: How long can this keep up?
- 11:09Speaker 8: We heard something on the roof. What the hell is this?
- 11:17Speaker 12: Saint Nicholas is not coming this year.
- 11:22Speaker 8: Instead, a much darker ancient spirit.
- 11:25Speaker 12: Those are hooves. Elk or goat?
- 11:29Speaker 3: What kind of goat walks on its hind legs?
- 11:33Speaker 12: His name is Krampus.
- 11:39Speaker 4: He and his helpers did not come to.
- 11:42Speaker 12: Give, but to take.
- 11:51Speaker 3: Everybody, hold on to each other.
- 12:00Speaker 8: He is the shadow.
- 12:02Speaker 10: Of Saint Nicholas.
- 12:09Speaker 1: It's Christmas.
- 12:11Speaker 2: Nothing bad's gonna happen on Christmas.
- 12:17Speaker 13: Children to care, please be aware, all that you've done
- 12:21Speaker 13: will come to bear. Have you been good, behaved as
- 12:23Speaker 13: you should? Those who have not, it's understood. Promise will come,
- 12:27Speaker 13: looking for some. You are not safe, best that you run.
- 12:30Speaker 8: You're on this list.
- 12:31Speaker 2: Not what you wish.
- 12:33Speaker 8: This Christmas time, you will be missed.
- 12:35Speaker 13: There is someone watching over.
- 12:37Speaker 8: All that you have done this year.
- 12:39Speaker 13: Christmas is real, show how you feel. If you forget,
- 12:45Speaker 13: your fate is sealed.
- 12:48Speaker 10: As you roll, you have been told.
- 12:50Speaker 8: Stay warm of heart.
- 12:52Speaker 7: Keep on the goal.
- 12:57Speaker 2: All right.
- 13:14Speaker 8: So now we're back here with Misty. With me. And Jay.
- 13:18Speaker 6: Hey.
- 13:19Speaker 8: Post Krampus to talk about the film. So.
- 13:23Speaker 6: There will be major spoilers.
- 13:26Speaker 8: Spoiler alert. All kinds of spoilers.
- 13:28Speaker 6: I'm going to give all the spoilers.
- 13:30Speaker 7: To get the rundown here for our... It was actually
- 13:34Speaker 7: out on the town. We went out into the creepy,
- 13:37Speaker 7: foggy night of December.
- 13:39Speaker 6: It was pretty spoopy out there.
- 13:40Speaker 4: I didn't even go off.
- 13:45Speaker 8: So, once again, this was Krampus. The year is 2015.
- 13:48Speaker 7: The director, Michael Dougherty, The plot, according to IMDb, a
- 13:54Speaker 7: boy who has a bad Christmas ends up accidentally summoning
- 13:57Speaker 7: a Christmas demon to his family home.
- 14:00Speaker 8: As we said, spoiler alert. So, Monkstar, creepy, foggy night.
- 14:10Speaker 6: Yeah, that intro is the reason I don't go to Walmart. Like, well,
- 14:14Speaker 6: most of the time ever, but especially like December, the
- 14:18Speaker 6: whole span of December, I try to avoid Walmart at
- 14:22Speaker 6: all costs.
- 14:24Speaker 7: It's funny because now I don't. I spent many a
- 14:27Speaker 7: year at the mall because I had to work there.
- 14:29Speaker 8: Yep, I know. Living the dream.
- 14:31Speaker 7: But then I got to the point where I didn't.
- 14:34Speaker 7: I mean, I used to hate it so much because
- 14:36Speaker 7: I had to be there, but there's a weird, you know,
- 14:39Speaker 7: you miss it once you're out of the loop. So
- 14:42Speaker 7: many years after I didn't have to, I would go
- 14:45Speaker 7: like once during December to the mall.
- 14:47Speaker 6: Which mall?
- 14:49Speaker 8: Usually the mall in.
- 14:51Speaker 6: Let's ask him for trouble.
- 14:53Speaker 7: It was like, because at that point I didn't have
- 14:55Speaker 7: any money, so I wasn't.
- 14:56Speaker 8: Buying anybody anything. Tough luck on that, present people. But
- 15:00Speaker 8: I wouldn't even buy anything.
- 15:01Speaker 7: It would just be to remind myself, just to immerse
- 15:03Speaker 7: myself in the Christmas insanity, but to not have to
- 15:07Speaker 7: do it, to kind of have to laugh at the
- 15:08Speaker 7: rest of the poor bastards that were waiting in line
- 15:11Speaker 7: and fighting over stuff. I just kind of wanted to
- 15:13Speaker 7: remind myself of the nightmare it could be if I
- 15:17Speaker 7: actually did that sort of thing.
- 15:19Speaker 6: I don't even know what I have to say about
- 15:20Speaker 6: my nightmares, because I work at a place worse than
- 15:23Speaker 6: the mall. It's a place of horrible, horrible things.
- 15:29Speaker 7: That's the thing, as I was watching that intro, because
- 15:31Speaker 7: it is kind of genius, and I'm like, has nobody
- 15:34Speaker 7: done a version of this before?
- 15:36Speaker 8: How did we make it this far without that nightmare
- 15:39Speaker 8: mall imagery?
- 15:41Speaker 6: Dawn of the Dead is kind of similar. Is it
- 15:44Speaker 6: Dawn of the Dead with the mall? I get them
- 15:45Speaker 6: all confused.
- 15:47Speaker 8: Which original Dawn of the Dead? That one's a little
- 15:49Speaker 8: more tongue-in-cheek in the way it looks at them all.
- 15:53Speaker 8: The reboot's sort of normal.
- 15:56Speaker 6: Zombie babies are never normal.
- 15:58Speaker 7: You're going to have a zombie baby. Assuming there's a
- 16:01Speaker 7: baby for you, it will be a zombie baby.
- 16:04Speaker 6: No.
- 16:07Speaker 7: So, all right, after the intro... Which, again, I just
- 16:12Speaker 7: like our main character just beating the hell out of
- 16:14Speaker 7: some other random kid.
- 16:15Speaker 6: I like the whole group of them gathered around watching
- 16:17Speaker 6: and cheering him on as he beats the tar on
- 16:19Speaker 6: this little... Actually, he's kind of on their steaming, because
- 16:21Speaker 6: he's on the bottom getting beat, too.
- 16:23Speaker 2: It's like.
- 16:24Speaker 6: I don't know who's actually winning the.
- 16:27Speaker 8: I just liked him. He's a scrapper. I like that kid.
- 16:29Speaker 6: As far as kids go, he's the most tolerable one
- 16:31Speaker 6: in this movie, because the other ones were fucking nightmares.
- 16:35Speaker 6: That fucking mouth breather. Oh, my God. I wanted to
- 16:37Speaker 6: punch that little kid in the mouth. I don't even care.
- 16:39Speaker 8: He's like Kermit Merman.
- 16:41Speaker 6: He was the kid from.
- 16:42Speaker 8: Only without the charm.
- 16:44Speaker 6: I had my complaints, and I had my things that
- 16:46Speaker 6: I liked about this movie.
- 16:48Speaker 8: All right.
- 16:48Speaker 6: What you doing here first?
- 16:50Speaker 8: Let's start on the good stuff.
- 16:52Speaker 6: I like the way that Krampus looked, except for a
- 16:54Speaker 6: few things, too. It's like, I really like the overall aesthetic.
- 16:57Speaker 6: Should I talk about my main problem with the actual Krampus?
- 17:00Speaker 8: Are we jumping right to Krampus?
- 17:01Speaker 6: I just want to talk about Krampus for a second,
- 17:03Speaker 6: because that's the whole thing, the movie. Just one second.
- 17:07Speaker 6: Just take a second. It's a fucking mouth breather. Why
- 17:10Speaker 6: does Krampus have his mouth open the entire time? Could
- 17:12Speaker 6: they not figure out a way to get the jaw
- 17:14Speaker 6: to like.
- 17:14Speaker 8: I think because it's disturbing.
- 17:17Speaker 6: But it's just... No, it's kind of to the point
- 17:18Speaker 6: where it kind of takes you out because you're like...
- 17:21Speaker 6: It's just a mask. You can just tell because it's
- 17:23Speaker 6: not like... It's not moving at all.
- 17:26Speaker 8: I mean, it was creepy, but it definitely.
- 17:29Speaker 7: I mean, it doesn't look like it's a real thing.
- 17:32Speaker 8: It does... But I mean, all of that stuff kind
- 17:34Speaker 8: of looked like it would.
- 17:36Speaker 7: Like, they had a sense of humor about to the
- 17:38Speaker 7: point of like, We're not pretending like this is real.
- 17:40Speaker 7: Like we know this teddy bear coming at you isn't real.
- 17:44Speaker 7: So we're going to make it as cheesy as we
- 17:46Speaker 7: want to because we know all of this is fantasy.
- 17:49Speaker 6: I just wish they would have moved his mouth a
- 17:50Speaker 6: little bit more. That's my only complaint about the Krampus
- 17:53Speaker 6: aspect of it.
- 17:53Speaker 8: I did question that.
- 17:55Speaker 7: I was like, why doesn't he just like close it
- 17:57Speaker 7: and open it and have creepy like, even if he
- 17:59Speaker 7: doesn't talk, just like. Yeah, have some sort of weird
- 18:03Speaker 7: creepy motion.
- 18:04Speaker 12: Kind of like the Krampus from the other movie that
- 18:06Speaker 12: you watched.
- 18:07Speaker 6: Talk about that one probably at the end.
- 18:08Speaker 4: A little bit better.
- 18:09Speaker 6: Because I watched more than one Krampus movie this week
- 18:11Speaker 6: in preparation for the event.
- 18:13Speaker 8: Yeah, I was considering trying to work in.
- 18:16Speaker 7: Some other ones for the festivities of our Krampus night,
- 18:20Speaker 7: but I don't know.
- 18:21Speaker 8: They all look really, really bad.
- 18:23Speaker 7: I'm not saying we won't come back to them somewhere
- 18:25Speaker 7: down the line.
- 18:26Speaker 8: We probably will, but That one, I'll have to figure
- 18:29Speaker 8: out which one you watched. We'll get back to those later.
- 18:32Speaker 8: But they're all kind of bad.
- 18:34Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 18:34Speaker 8: Or at least what little I've watched of them, the
- 18:36Speaker 8: trailers I watched. Up until now.
- 18:38Speaker 6: Are the one you're talking about, did it have William
- 18:40Speaker 6: Shatner in it?
- 18:41Speaker 12: No.
- 18:41Speaker 6: Okay, I think I got you beat then. Okay.
- 18:44Speaker 8: Well, no. Again, we won't get sidetracked yet. But, yeah,
- 18:48Speaker 8: that's the thing. Looking back, it's like Krampus is a
- 18:51Speaker 8: story that's been.
- 18:52Speaker 7: Around forever, but they've not really done a real movie.
- 18:55Speaker 6: Should we break down the actual legend for people that
- 18:57Speaker 6: might not have heard of the story of Krampus?
- 18:59Speaker 8: Go ahead.
- 19:00Speaker 6: Why are they listening to our show if they have
- 19:02Speaker 6: no idea about crayons? Go read a book, you people.
- 19:06Speaker 6: I'm assuming there are books on crayons. Internet, Google that bitch.
- 19:09Speaker 8: Sorry to say, nobody reads books. What are you, crazy?
- 19:11Speaker 6: I read books all the time.
- 19:12Speaker 8: What are you, one of those weirdos that buys books?
- 19:14Speaker 6: I do all the time.
- 19:15Speaker 8: You showed me a picture of a book when we
- 19:16Speaker 8: got to the theater.
- 19:17Speaker 9: I did.
- 19:17Speaker 6: I was so excited.
- 19:17Speaker 8: You're such a dork. You carry pictures of books on
- 19:20Speaker 8: your phone.
- 19:20Speaker 6: I was going to bring the actual book, but I
- 19:22Speaker 6: was worried for its safety.
- 19:23Speaker 8: Some people are just like, here's pictures of my children.
- 19:26Speaker 8: You're like, here's my collectibles. You're scrolling through.
- 19:30Speaker 10: Look at this one.
- 19:31Speaker 8: Here's my Legos.
- 19:32Speaker 6: Here's all my choose your own adventure books because they're
- 19:35Speaker 6: on here too.
- 19:36Speaker 8: Yeah, that's true. She's not making that up.
- 19:38Speaker 6: I'm not making that up. Find your fate. Which way? Wizards, Warriors,
- 19:43Speaker 6: and you. They're all on there.
- 19:45Speaker 8: I have those too. Anyway, what is the legend of Crapbox?
- 19:50Speaker 6: I don't know.
- 19:52Speaker 8: You wanted to tell this!
- 19:53Speaker 6: You're the one who has your phone out. Well, I
- 19:55Speaker 6: forget how old the actual story is. Like, really old.
- 19:59Speaker 6: And then it's just.
- 20:00Speaker 8: Hundreds of years.
- 20:02Speaker 6: Days and days old. It's kind of like the opposite
- 20:07Speaker 6: of Santa Claus.
- 20:08Speaker 5: Santa Claus if you're good he brings you things and
- 20:11Speaker 5: you get toys but then if you're bad Krampus comes
- 20:15Speaker 5: and he takes you and he puts you in a
- 20:17Speaker 5: bag and he drags you off to do Krampus-y things to.
- 20:21Speaker 7: You in the again I check I was told I
- 20:25Speaker 7: needed to check with the resident Krampus expert that we
- 20:29Speaker 7: all know which is Bill so in preparation I was
- 20:32Speaker 7: like okay so what what did they do for their
- 20:36Speaker 7: festivities you know it if you went to Germany or
- 20:40Speaker 7: wherever in the European countries that are hardcore about Krampus,
- 20:44Speaker 7: he said the festivity part of it now, like I
- 20:46Speaker 7: think more modern day back in the day, I guess
- 20:48Speaker 7: he just like actually took you away in a sack.
- 20:50Speaker 7: But now I think the updated more lighter version is there's, there.
- 20:54Speaker 8: Is someone or more than one, someone I'm not sure, but.
- 20:57Speaker 7: The dress up in full Krampus garb and go down
- 21:01Speaker 7: the street for this festival that they have. And if you're,
- 21:04Speaker 7: they will ask you, Are you good or bad? And
- 21:06Speaker 7: if you answer good, they will give you candy. And
- 21:09Speaker 7: if you're bad, they will hit you with switches, basically.
- 21:13Speaker 7: Some sort of thistle-y stick.
- 21:15Speaker 8: I don't know.
- 21:17Speaker 6: We're going to the Krampus Fest in Bloomington.
- 21:20Speaker 8: You're going to get hit with so many sticks.
- 21:22Speaker 6: That's part of their thing.
- 21:23Speaker 8: Wait a minute.
- 21:23Speaker 4: Bill who? bill how many bills do you know bill
- 21:26Speaker 4: bill bill he's not european.
- 21:29Speaker 8: Nobody's into krampus because he's a creepy weirdo we know
- 21:32Speaker 8: that because we're going to go to the one in
- 21:33Speaker 8: blue that's what he tells.
- 21:37Speaker 6: Us and they have they apparently they have they give
- 21:39Speaker 6: you stickers and you can choose between the nice sticker
- 21:41Speaker 6: and the naughty sticker and if you know they'll have
- 21:44Speaker 6: angels and they'll have the krampuses wandering about and.
- 21:46Speaker 8: So many switches for you i know i would.
- 21:48Speaker 6: Get all of the switches But yeah, generally, overall, I
- 21:52Speaker 6: liked the entire look of this movie. I thought it
- 21:53Speaker 6: looked really good. I thought the whole... See, I hate snow,
- 21:56Speaker 6: so that was just like, oh, to me. But the
- 21:58Speaker 6: whole vibe of it was really creepy, and I understand
- 22:00Speaker 6: the need for it.
- 22:02Speaker 7: That was probably my favorite part, is just the overall
- 22:05Speaker 7: tone of everything. Once the letter gets thrown up, the
- 22:11Speaker 7: snowstorm sets in, and everything is like, creepy Christmas card.
- 22:17Speaker 8: Everything becomes so.
- 22:19Speaker 6: Demented snowman.
- 22:20Speaker 8: Completely, yeah, overdone with snow.
- 22:23Speaker 7: Everything is not just covered in snow, completely, overly covered
- 22:27Speaker 7: in snow with giant icicles everywhere, snow blowing by everything,
- 22:31Speaker 7: and then.
- 22:31Speaker 8: Those creepy, creepy snowmen. Again, that very first one, I'm like, ooh,
- 22:35Speaker 8: that's creepy. I'm okay with that. It's just creepy.
- 22:39Speaker 6: Snow burl monsters.
- 22:40Speaker 7: The snow graboids. as I was calling them in my
- 22:44Speaker 7: head the whole time it was going on. I'm like,
- 22:46Speaker 7: it's pretty much just tremors with snow.
- 22:49Speaker 8: Snow graboids. But otherwise, yeah, I think the look of
- 22:53Speaker 8: it kind of captures that. I also like the pacing.
- 22:56Speaker 7: Once we get into it, the fact that we get
- 22:58Speaker 7: a good amount of time where everything is completely desolate.
- 23:02Speaker 8: Like, there really is no explanation.
- 23:05Speaker 7: I guess by the end, you sort of have an
- 23:06Speaker 7: explanation as to what's going on. But the fact that, like,
- 23:09Speaker 7: the entire rest of the town is pretty much wiped out.
- 23:12Speaker 7: We get, like, one other character.
- 23:15Speaker 2: I mean, basically.
- 23:16Speaker 7: The delivery guy is about the only other human we see, right?
- 23:21Speaker 7: It's not part of the family, and then he's immediately
- 23:23Speaker 7: taken care of.
- 23:24Speaker 6: What a horrible, horrible family. I thought my family was bad.
- 23:28Speaker 6: Holy shitsticks. That was a horrible family.
- 23:30Speaker 7: These holiday movies that make you appreciate the wonderful things
- 23:34Speaker 7: you have that aren't that family.
- 23:38Speaker 6: Or the fact that I no longer have to see
- 23:39Speaker 6: most of their families. We're good!
- 23:42Speaker 8: That's a different approach.
- 23:43Speaker 7: That's kind of what I was thinking because their immediate
- 23:45Speaker 7: family is kind of awesome. I like the couple that
- 23:48Speaker 7: we have. I like both of those kids. We don't
- 23:51Speaker 7: get much of the sister, but she seems all right.
- 23:53Speaker 6: She had a lot of freckles.
- 23:54Speaker 8: She did. She was kind of making it not horrible.
- 23:58Speaker 6: She was cute, but she had a lot of freckles.
- 23:59Speaker 8: That's what I was going to say.
- 24:00Speaker 7: It's a tall order to be able to take that
- 24:02Speaker 7: many freckles and still be cute.
- 24:04Speaker 8: She was kind of making it work, so it's okay.
- 24:06Speaker 7: She was your normal teenage girl on her phone the
- 24:08Speaker 7: few times that we came in contact with her, but
- 24:10Speaker 7: she seemed all right.
- 24:11Speaker 8: So I was like, and grandma, kind of cool.
- 24:13Speaker 6: I like grandma.
- 24:14Speaker 8: I would totally hang.
- 24:14Speaker 7: Out with grandma, even though I was like, she really
- 24:17Speaker 7: doesn't speak English. You live in a household full of
- 24:19Speaker 7: people who speak English.
- 24:20Speaker 6: She does.
- 24:21Speaker 8: Yeah, she's sneaky about it.
- 24:23Speaker 7: So yeah, as much as she was speaking constantly in German,
- 24:25Speaker 7: I was like, how can you live in that house
- 24:27Speaker 7: and not at least pick up some which.
- 24:29Speaker 6: Some people some people of the old country are stubborn
- 24:32Speaker 6: like that not that i'm from the old country or
- 24:34Speaker 6: really know anybody from the old country but from what
- 24:35Speaker 6: i've seen on the internets people from the old country
- 24:37Speaker 6: are stubborn like that i have no country no i
- 24:43Speaker 6: am a lady of many countries.
- 24:45Speaker 7: I have no home but no i don't know she
- 24:48Speaker 7: was pretty cool though so i'd hang out with her
- 24:51Speaker 7: and eat awesome cookies because she made a lot of cookies.
- 24:54Speaker 6: I would I would eat her cookies, but that sounded
- 24:56Speaker 6: really gross and nasty. She was old.
- 24:58Speaker 8: What are you talking about? I like grandma.
- 25:01Speaker 6: I'm trying to figure out where I recognize the boy from.
- 25:06Speaker 6: It seems like I've seen that little kid in something
- 25:08Speaker 6: else before. But no, I don't think that I have.
- 25:11Speaker 6: And I could possibly just make that up in my head.
- 25:13Speaker 6: Because I've not seen him in anything else.
- 25:14Speaker 12: It's Fred Savage.
- 25:16Speaker 8: No, he's directing now. I think he's in a new sitcom.
- 25:21Speaker 12: It's a kid in Princess Bride.
- 25:27Speaker 8: Isn't that pretty? That was pretty sneaky.
- 25:31Speaker 6: Pretty sneaky, sis.
- 25:35Speaker 4: Actually, I said that and I didn't realize it was.
- 25:37Speaker 8: Fred Savage, too. That's the sad part.
- 25:44Speaker 6: Maybe I went into this movie expecting way too much
- 25:46Speaker 6: because I love Trick or Treat. It's still one of
- 25:49Speaker 6: my favorite movies. We watch it every year for Halloween.
- 25:52Speaker 6: I guess I expected it to have, I don't know,
- 25:54Speaker 6: maybe a little bit more Trick or Treat-y vibe to it.
- 25:57Speaker 4: You were hoping more kids got murdered is what you
- 25:59Speaker 4: were hoping.
- 25:59Speaker 7: I was totally hoping that.
- 26:02Speaker 2: They did.
- 26:02Speaker 8: That's the thing.
- 26:03Speaker 7: I was trying to decide, is he going to keep
- 26:04Speaker 7: it that tone of Trick or Treat? Because he's kind
- 26:07Speaker 7: of brutal in Trick or Treat.
- 26:08Speaker 8: And then by the end, oh, yeah. They take out
- 26:11Speaker 8: all those kids. And the whole damn family. I was like, okay,
- 26:15Speaker 8: they're not messing around.
- 26:17Speaker 7: By the time you're throwing kids into the fiery pits
- 26:20Speaker 7: of hell, I was like, no, he's taking this pretty dark.
- 26:25Speaker 7: I was surprised how dark it got for a mainstream
- 26:28Speaker 7: studio movie. Again, he kind of skated by on Trick
- 26:30Speaker 7: or Treat, and that was a fight tooth and nail
- 26:32Speaker 7: the way the story goes just to get that made.
- 26:35Speaker 8: So this is a much bigger and more studio movie
- 26:38Speaker 8: with recognizable stars. I'm like, Maybe he's got to dial
- 26:41Speaker 8: it back a little bit.
- 26:41Speaker 12: Nope.
- 26:42Speaker 8: The demented things in the attic.
- 26:45Speaker 4: Who's recognizable aside from the other dad that was off
- 26:50Speaker 4: Star Trek?
- 26:51Speaker 8: Tony Collette's pretty huge. Who? Adam Scott's pretty huge.
- 26:54Speaker 2: Who's that?
- 26:55Speaker 6: The mom?
- 26:56Speaker 2: I don't know who that is.
- 26:59Speaker 6: Adam Scott, he was in an episode of Veronica Mars.
- 27:03Speaker 8: Aunt Dorothy also got paid a billion.
- 27:05Speaker 4: Dollars to be in that stupid two and a half
- 27:08Speaker 4: man show.
- 27:09Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 27:10Speaker 6: Seen her before i didn't recognize most of these people.
- 27:14Speaker 7: In there i mean just the parents but i mean
- 27:16Speaker 7: that's you know the kids can't have that much they're kids.
- 27:20Speaker 6: Oh wow look at that girl's forehead holy shit tess
- 27:24Speaker 6: no sophie gannon ah you could show the movie on
- 27:28Speaker 6: that bitch.
- 27:29Speaker 8: I mean tess isn't doing very good but.
- 27:31Speaker 7: She still looks like a human unlike elf girl no
- 27:34Speaker 7: offense to elves out there.
- 27:39Speaker 8: Stefania. That's not how you spell Stefania. I might take
- 27:43Speaker 8: points off for that freckle girl.
- 27:45Speaker 6: Try Stefania.
- 27:48Speaker 12: You got all kinds of Stefania.
- 27:51Speaker 2: You gotta wipe it off.
- 27:53Speaker 8: That sounds like a fancy foreign name. She's from Florida.
- 27:56Speaker 8: You can't pull that shit when you're from Florida.
- 27:58Speaker 6: Maybe she has immigrant parents.
- 28:02Speaker 8: What is this, America?
- 28:03Speaker 6: No shit.
- 28:03Speaker 8: I don't know. That was mine. I think I forgot...
- 28:08Speaker 8: I'm pretty sure I heard a long time.
- 28:10Speaker 7: Ago he was making this Krampus movie, but I think
- 28:13Speaker 7: I forgot it was the same director until going in
- 28:15Speaker 7: this week. I'm like, oh yeah, we're going to go
- 28:17Speaker 7: see that. And I looked up the stuff on it
- 28:18Speaker 7: and I was just like, oh, now I really do.
- 28:21Speaker 7: And as I forgot it was because he really hasn't
- 28:23Speaker 7: put out a feature film since then. So I've really
- 28:26Speaker 7: been looking forward to seeing where he's going because he
- 28:29Speaker 7: sounds like an awesome dude. I remember I've heard several
- 28:32Speaker 7: times him tell the horrible, horrible story of him trying
- 28:34Speaker 7: to get Trick or Treat made.
- 28:36Speaker 8: So I like him.
- 28:38Speaker 7: As a person from what little I've heard, and I
- 28:41Speaker 7: wanted to see more visual awesome stuff.
- 28:45Speaker 8: From that angle, I think he delivered. I think all
- 28:47Speaker 8: of that.
- 28:48Speaker 2: Is pretty cool.
- 28:48Speaker 6: Like I said, I think I was expecting too much
- 28:50Speaker 6: of it to be Trick or Treat Christmas Edition.
- 28:53Speaker 8: I feel like it kind of is, though. For me,
- 28:55Speaker 8: it is just because it also.
- 28:57Speaker 7: Because Trick or Treat gets pretty silly at points.
- 29:01Speaker 6: Not as silly as the fucking end of CG... Gingerbread Man,
- 29:06Speaker 6: those were just fucking uncalled for and ridiculous.
- 29:08Speaker 4: Yeah, really, those come out of the set of Shrek.
- 29:11Speaker 8: Yeah, pretty much.
- 29:12Speaker 6: They came from Ginger Dead Man, I'm pretty sure.
- 29:15Speaker 7: If you told me about it, I think I'd probably
- 29:17Speaker 7: have way more problems getting in the middle of that
- 29:20Speaker 7: and seeing the rest of the stuff that was kind
- 29:22Speaker 7: of happening and okay.
- 29:23Speaker 8: I was just like, I don't know, it kind of
- 29:25Speaker 8: fits with the rest of this silly story.
- 29:26Speaker 6: No, it was too ridiculous. That was the part that
- 29:30Speaker 6: I was just like, okay, what? No, that kind of
- 29:33Speaker 6: took me out of it a little bit. That's my
- 29:36Speaker 6: only major complaint about this movie.
- 29:37Speaker 8: It's definitely the cheesiest part. and the most.
- 29:41Speaker 4: Well, they gotta have some comic relief and that's what
- 29:44Speaker 4: they were.
- 29:44Speaker 7: Because everything going on upstairs is pretty disturbing. And then
- 29:48Speaker 7: downstairs is, you know, cutesy.
- 29:51Speaker 8: Little gingerbread men.
- 29:51Speaker 6: Yeah, I didn't like that part.
- 29:52Speaker 8: And the dog's kind of fun. The dog's pretty fun.
- 29:55Speaker 6: I like the dog part.
- 29:55Speaker 4: And what kind of nail gun was that?
- 29:58Speaker 8: The one from Lethal Weapon 2.
- 29:59Speaker 4: Yeah. Nail guns don't work like that.
- 30:03Speaker 8: In movies, they always do.
- 30:06Speaker 4: I've shot nails at people. They don't do that.
- 30:08Speaker 8: Damn it.
- 30:11Speaker 6: I wasn't too big on the teddy bear and the
- 30:15Speaker 6: angel doll thing. Those parts I could have done without, too.
- 30:18Speaker 6: I loved the cramp. The elves were okay.
- 30:20Speaker 4: What about the robot thing?
- 30:22Speaker 6: The whole... The whole evil demonic toy thing was just
- 30:26Speaker 6: kind of... I didn't like that part either.
- 30:27Speaker 4: Yeah, because, I mean.
- 30:28Speaker 6: The robot thing, I could have done with that, but
- 30:29Speaker 6: I like Beelze.
- 30:30Speaker 4: Yeah, he's a Krampus, like, you know. He's like, hey,
- 30:32Speaker 4: I gotta add some robots to this shit, too, you know?
- 30:35Speaker 6: Robots generally make everything better, unless it's Transformers.
- 30:39Speaker 8: Those don't count. That's just CG mess. What was funny
- 30:43Speaker 8: is it is almost exactly the robot he had on
- 30:45Speaker 8: his wall in his room. Did you see he had
- 30:49Speaker 8: one drawn, like, in crayon?
- 30:50Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 30:51Speaker 8: That was pretty cool, huh?
- 30:53Speaker 12: It's all his fault.
- 30:54Speaker 8: It's pretty much the whole movie.
- 30:57Speaker 6: Actually, no, it's Jackassie's family's fault.
- 30:59Speaker 8: They didn't suck.
- 31:01Speaker 6: It's all bratty-ass cousins. If they hadn't been such pains
- 31:05Speaker 6: in the asses, they would have mailed his Christmas letter
- 31:08Speaker 6: and everything would have been oakley-dokley. But no, they had
- 31:11Speaker 6: to be all shitheaded cousin-like like most people's cousins are.
- 31:15Speaker 6: Because I've got cousins that are probably just like that. Actually,
- 31:18Speaker 6: I had cousins.
- 31:19Speaker 4: Yeah, you do.
- 31:19Speaker 6: I had cousins that were, oh, they're dead now.
- 31:23Speaker 8: Tell me, Aaron.
- 31:24Speaker 2: Damn it.
- 31:24Speaker 6: Tell me Stevie and Aaron wouldn't have done that shit.
- 31:26Speaker 6: You didn't know them, but you know.
- 31:28Speaker 8: Yeah, maybe.
- 31:30Speaker 7: I think I've seen pictures of them wearing clothes kind
- 31:33Speaker 7: of like the girls were wearing.
- 31:35Speaker 6: Yeah, exactly. But, you know, yeah, I don't blame the boy.
- 31:39Speaker 6: He just wanted to have a nice family get together
- 31:42Speaker 6: and just everything be quiet and the way things used
- 31:45Speaker 6: to be. I can understand one at a time of this, like,
- 31:48Speaker 6: calm and good times and not jackass-y family.
- 31:52Speaker 2: That's what I was saying.
- 31:53Speaker 7: I feel like the core family was fine. It's like
- 31:56Speaker 7: if he would have kept it at that, he probably
- 31:58Speaker 7: would have had a nice Christmas, but it was inviting the.
- 32:00Speaker 8: Rest of those people. I guess we all say that
- 32:03Speaker 8: to ourselves sometimes. Why are these people part of my family?
- 32:07Speaker 6: Part of why we don't invite most people into our
- 32:09Speaker 6: house either. You're one of the few people that have
- 32:12Speaker 6: been in the bastion of awesome.
- 32:16Speaker 8: I do feel privileged.
- 32:17Speaker 7: Don't be an ass i try to control my jerky
- 32:21Speaker 7: behaviors put them outward to people outside of that yeah.
- 32:27Speaker 6: Keep it up but yeah i could have done without
- 32:29Speaker 6: the i said i liked the movie otherwise like i
- 32:31Speaker 6: said i liked the dark vibe of it but when
- 32:33Speaker 6: you get all well look at these wacky little gingerbread
- 32:36Speaker 6: man running about trying to stab him.
- 32:39Speaker 7: I think everything that goes on in that whole segment
- 32:41Speaker 7: is It's kind of all or nothing at that point.
- 32:44Speaker 8: It's like you have to.
- 32:45Speaker 7: Totally give in to the ridiculous fantasy aspect of it
- 32:49Speaker 7: at that point.
- 32:49Speaker 6: But it was so dark and creepy and you're all like, suspense,
- 32:53Speaker 6: and then that happens, and I'm just like, alright, I'm
- 32:54Speaker 6: not even worried about what's happening now, because this is
- 32:56Speaker 6: just stupid.
- 32:57Speaker 7: If you took that part out, because I feel like
- 32:59Speaker 7: the elves are still dark and creepy, and don't cross
- 33:02Speaker 7: that line.
- 33:03Speaker 8: So I think the elves and Krampus and everything.
- 33:05Speaker 7: Else up to that point were pretty disturbing, like would
- 33:09Speaker 7: have worked as a pretty creepy movie.
- 33:11Speaker 4: Yeah, even the jack-in-the-box was a little disturbing.
- 33:16Speaker 8: The first one, and later he's still disturbing. Like, you
- 33:19Speaker 8: get that middle part, it's funny, I don't know how.
- 33:22Speaker 7: Well, you know, they remind me of, like, the Alex
- 33:25Speaker 7: Pardee artwork. He's the guy that did the stuff in.
- 33:29Speaker 8: It.
- 33:29Speaker 4: Looks like stuff from Puppet Master.
- 33:32Speaker 7: Yeah, I mean, the Jack in the Box guy definitely
- 33:35Speaker 7: did it. It's Digging Up the Marrow. That's the one, yeah.
- 33:39Speaker 7: And once you get to, like, if you look at
- 33:41Speaker 7: his artwork, it's similar to that, like, cute stuff that's
- 33:45Speaker 7: been totally.
- 33:46Speaker 8: Demented and turned into something creepy. And then they kind of.
- 33:50Speaker 7: Recreate that in like a three-dimensional form in the movie.
- 33:55Speaker 7: They don't show a ton of it in that movie,
- 33:57Speaker 7: so I think it almost, you can skate by. Where
- 33:59Speaker 7: this one, we get that full scene of nothing but.
- 34:02Speaker 6: Cheesy, cheesy, cutesy turned.
- 34:06Speaker 7: Into creepy monsters. So, I don't know. Again, that's the
- 34:10Speaker 7: scene that's kind of like, you make the call. Is
- 34:13Speaker 7: this going too far?
- 34:14Speaker 6: That's not even too far. It's just too, it's like...
- 34:17Speaker 6: That would have been a point where a little bit
- 34:19Speaker 6: less would have been better. You know, like, if they
- 34:21Speaker 6: had just had, like, instead of, like, fucking 30 seconds
- 34:25Speaker 6: of this angel thing attacking her face, I'm like, why
- 34:27Speaker 6: is this still going on?
- 34:28Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 34:29Speaker 8: I mean, I think that with a lot of horror movies, too.
- 34:32Speaker 7: I'm just like, the less you see, the more disturbing
- 34:35Speaker 7: it is, usually.
- 34:36Speaker 6: It maybe just bothered me because the rest of it
- 34:38Speaker 6: was so good, and then that happened, and I'm just like, ah,
- 34:41Speaker 6: wait a minute.
- 34:42Speaker 7: There's going to be a misty cut coming up it.
- 34:44Speaker 7: You're going to edit your own and sit around and watch.
- 34:47Speaker 6: It at Christmas. Cut that whole section out.
- 34:49Speaker 8: It's really kind of all it is.
- 34:50Speaker 7: I mean, it's like, once you take that out, you'll
- 34:52Speaker 7: just be like, huh, I wonder where that other kid went.
- 34:55Speaker 7: I mean, the story really doesn't change much. You just
- 34:58Speaker 7: take that part out.
- 34:59Speaker 6: All those kids are kind of interchangeable.
- 35:00Speaker 8: Yeah, pretty much.
- 35:01Speaker 6: Except for the cool kid.
- 35:03Speaker 8: The other kids. I also feel like the... Maybe at
- 35:09Speaker 8: this point, it's just hard.
- 35:10Speaker 7: To do any holiday movie without it being compared to
- 35:12Speaker 7: the handful of.
- 35:13Speaker 8: of ones that we always come back to.
- 35:15Speaker 7: But I feel like the brother-in-law guy is the cousin
- 35:18Speaker 7: Eddie of this family.
- 35:19Speaker 14: He is.
- 35:20Speaker 8: He just comes rolling in, and he's an.
- 35:22Speaker 7: Idiot, and he's got his big, dumb... I mean, I'm
- 35:25Speaker 7: surprised he didn't say his shitter.
- 35:26Speaker 8: Was full at some point.
- 35:27Speaker 6: He's from Christmas Vacation.
- 35:28Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 35:29Speaker 8: Because I've never seen that movie.
- 35:30Speaker 2: Oh, Lord.
- 35:31Speaker 4: I mean, he almost looks exactly.
- 35:33Speaker 8: Like that character. Yeah, he's kind of playing that same role.
- 35:35Speaker 8: The kids are equally as ridiculous and ghetto. Yeah. and
- 35:41Speaker 8: then as soon as he they're redneck they're super redneck and.
- 35:44Speaker 6: Then when they're out I was just waiting for boyfriend
- 35:46Speaker 6: cause I'm like alright guy's firing a shotgun how long
- 35:50Speaker 6: till boyfriend complains about how many rounds he shot 13
- 35:55Speaker 6: how many rounds should.
- 35:56Speaker 4: He have been able to shoot uh depending on the
- 35:59Speaker 4: shotgun I would say uh at the max 8 I
- 36:05Speaker 4: don't know but.
- 36:05Speaker 7: It's a fancy shotgun it had a flashlight on it
- 36:09Speaker 7: that had several more.
- 36:10Speaker 4: Shots yeah Continuously.
- 36:13Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 36:14Speaker 4: Depends on whether or not you've got an extended magazine
- 36:19Speaker 4: tube on it or not.
- 36:21Speaker 6: That's the thing about going into any movie that has guns.
- 36:23Speaker 6: I've just got to sit and wait until boyfriend's like,
- 36:25Speaker 6: you shouldn't have been able to shoot that many shots.
- 36:28Speaker 8: SP guns always have.
- 36:30Speaker 4: I'm not just like that on that, though.
- 36:32Speaker 12: I mean, I'm like that on.
- 36:34Speaker 4: I mean, there's a bunch of different things with movies
- 36:37Speaker 4: that I have problems with, so.
- 36:41Speaker 7: Sometimes you have to question the decisions of people making
- 36:45Speaker 7: these movies.
- 36:46Speaker 6: Like I questioned the gingerbread men.
- 36:48Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 36:50Speaker 6: Should we talk about the very end for a second
- 36:51Speaker 6: or not? Or we got more to talk about before
- 36:53Speaker 6: we get there? Because we're sitting there in the very
- 36:56Speaker 6: end and that girl in the back car is like,
- 36:57Speaker 6: are you serious?
- 36:59Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 37:01Speaker 4: Yeah, I was kind of thinking the same thing when
- 37:04Speaker 4: it went that direction.
- 37:05Speaker 8: Is that the waking up?
- 37:07Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 37:07Speaker 8: Christmas morning part. Because I was trying to decide what
- 37:09Speaker 8: she said. I heard her exclaim something as it flew
- 37:12Speaker 8: out of sight. Are you serious?
- 37:15Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 37:16Speaker 8: Have you ever seen a horror movie before? Most of
- 37:18Speaker 8: them end like that. What is wrong with her?
- 37:21Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 37:21Speaker 8: But again, I think it turned around and totally changed
- 37:24Speaker 8: up on that. It faked you out on the... Fake out?
- 37:28Speaker 8: Fake out. Faked you out on the happy ending. Double
- 37:32Speaker 8: trick in the tricky two.
- 37:34Speaker 7: Yeah, most of those try to pull out some sort
- 37:36Speaker 7: of weird cheesy ending. Yeah, at this one they were
- 37:39Speaker 7: just like, oh, but not really, no.
- 37:43Speaker 6: I'm still not really sure. So were they just, super
- 37:46Speaker 6: spoiler alert, were they just stuck in the snow globe
- 37:48Speaker 6: for the rest of forever in their happy Christmas?
- 37:52Speaker 8: But is it a happy Christmas?
- 37:53Speaker 7: Now that they all kind of had this weird flashback
- 37:57Speaker 7: of what happened. Are they now self-aware that they're in
- 38:00Speaker 7: there and they're just trapped there.
- 38:01Speaker 8: For all eternity? And now they're trapped.
- 38:02Speaker 2: There for all eternity.
- 38:04Speaker 4: Stuck with each other.
- 38:06Speaker 12: It's pretty.
- 38:07Speaker 8: Again, I thought it was kind of cool the.
- 38:09Speaker 6: Way it turned. But doesn't that negate the wish? Because
- 38:11Speaker 6: if they all realize it and they're no longer happy,
- 38:13Speaker 6: doesn't that get rid of the I want my happy Christmas?
- 38:16Speaker 6: Because if they're no longer happy, or do they start
- 38:19Speaker 6: to wake up every morning and not realize it? I'm confused.
- 38:22Speaker 6: I don't understand.
- 38:23Speaker 8: But which wish are we going with?
- 38:25Speaker 1: His.
- 38:25Speaker 6: Last wish for the happy Christmas.
- 38:28Speaker 8: Then he was just taken back, or tempted to, which
- 38:31Speaker 8: I think didn't work.
- 38:33Speaker 7: I think he's just going with there's no takesies-backsies.
- 38:35Speaker 8: That's the rule on Krampus. He doesn't fuck around with that.
- 38:40Speaker 8: You said it. You're stuck with your decision.
- 38:42Speaker 4: Yeah, I was kind of hoping he wouldn't go back
- 38:44Speaker 4: on it.
- 38:45Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 38:45Speaker 4: I was like, seriously, come.
- 38:46Speaker 6: On, man.
- 38:47Speaker 8: Krampus is a big softie now.
- 38:48Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 38:49Speaker 8: After he, like, wiped out Grandma's family and just left her.
- 38:52Speaker 2: I was like.
- 38:52Speaker 4: Oh, okay. Well, since you asked nicely, I guess I'll
- 38:55Speaker 4: give him that.
- 38:56Speaker 6: Since you said please.
- 38:57Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 38:58Speaker 8: Or I'm sorry.
- 38:58Speaker 4: No, he chucks him in the pit too.
- 39:00Speaker 8: So I was kind of glad. Yeah, it didn't go.
- 39:03Speaker 7: Again, that's the point where I was like, he doesn't
- 39:05Speaker 7: have a problem with going super dark. And like he
- 39:07Speaker 7: throws the kid into the pit of hell.
- 39:09Speaker 6: By his head.
- 39:11Speaker 8: And then like he still kind of screws over.
- 39:13Speaker 4: Sometimes you got to grab kids.
- 39:14Speaker 2: By the head.
- 39:14Speaker 6: You have no idea how many times I wanted to
- 39:16Speaker 6: grab a small child by their cranium and just like
- 39:18Speaker 6: crush it or just throw them. This is why we
- 39:21Speaker 6: don't have kids. And why we don't go to Walmart.
- 39:24Speaker 12: Yeah.
- 39:26Speaker 8: All of these are good things. Gather around with the family.
- 39:31Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 39:31Speaker 8: Hear some tales of head crushing.
- 39:35Speaker 6: I got my niece's head stuck in a wall in
- 39:37Speaker 6: a toilet once.
- 39:39Speaker 8: On purpose.
- 39:41Speaker 6: Not on purpose.
- 39:42Speaker 8: That you can prove.
- 39:45Speaker 6: I didn't know she followed me into the bathroom while
- 39:46Speaker 6: I was brushing my teeth. And then I turn around
- 39:48Speaker 6: and there she is, just stuck away.
- 39:49Speaker 12: It's been a tiny bathroom.
- 39:52Speaker 6: My mom's bathroom.
- 39:55Speaker 12: She got her head stuck between the wall and the toilet.
- 39:59Speaker 6: She's a special child.
- 40:01Speaker 8: I'm assuming you took photos. I did not.
- 40:03Speaker 6: I don't think I did.
- 40:04Speaker 12: No, you didn't have a camera phone then, did you?
- 40:06Speaker 6: I don't think I did.
- 40:09Speaker 8: You would have gotten the porn. Hold still.
- 40:11Speaker 6: Quit wiggling.
- 40:12Speaker 8: Quit screaming while I get my camera.
- 40:14Speaker 6: Hold on. Who the fuck lets their kid go out
- 40:18Speaker 6: in the middle of that storm like that? Seriously. Yeah.
- 40:21Speaker 4: Idiots.
- 40:21Speaker 8: I thought that was a little, at least like.
- 40:25Speaker 12: No civilization.
- 40:26Speaker 6: No, no people out there anywhere.
- 40:29Speaker 8: Give her a ride.
- 40:30Speaker 2: You know.
- 40:31Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 40:31Speaker 6: Okay.
- 40:32Speaker 4: You've got one hour to walk. How many blocks?
- 40:35Speaker 12: Four blocks.
- 40:36Speaker 4: Four blocks away.
- 40:39Speaker 6: It would be one thing if it was a nice day.
- 40:40Speaker 6: But it's fucking blizzard-y. The dad got like damn near
- 40:46Speaker 6: frostbitten in like four minutes. And they're going, oh, take
- 40:48Speaker 6: an hour.
- 40:49Speaker 8: Yeah. They didn't know it was the wasteland yet. At
- 40:53Speaker 8: the time.
- 40:54Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 40:55Speaker 8: But still, it looked pretty bad out there.
- 40:57Speaker 6: I'm not even a parent. And I'm like, wait a second.
- 40:59Speaker 6: I am calling on your judgment right there.
- 41:01Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 41:02Speaker 4: I am a parent.
- 41:05Speaker 12: Yeah, my kid's not going anywhere.
- 41:06Speaker 8: I would have at least gone with her. I mean,
- 41:08Speaker 8: I'd be dead too. But I'd be like, cool, let's
- 41:10Speaker 8: go see.
- 41:11Speaker 2: No, I wouldn't even let her go on.
- 41:13Speaker 8: Let's go chase the neighborhood and see what we want.
- 41:15Speaker 4: Aside from the fact that she doesn't need to be
- 41:17Speaker 4: going out to her boyfriend's house.
- 41:19Speaker 8: To her stoner boyfriend's house.
- 41:20Speaker 4: To her stoner boyfriend's house, but also just to be
- 41:22Speaker 4: a dick.
- 41:23Speaker 8: You know?
- 41:24Speaker 4: Because that's what parents do.
- 41:27Speaker 6: Not unless you're in this movie. In this movie, they're like,
- 41:29Speaker 6: go ahead, get frostbite, die horribly, have fun with it.
- 41:33Speaker 4: Yeah, well, they're tired of it.
- 41:36Speaker 8: He's a jerk. Tired of the kids.
- 41:40Speaker 4: We gotta figure out a way to get rid of
- 41:41Speaker 4: them one by one.
- 41:43Speaker 6: Weed this bunch out a little bit.
- 41:44Speaker 8: And this enters Krampus. How do we pick off these
- 41:48Speaker 8: kids as the movie goes on?
- 41:49Speaker 12: Oh, look.
- 41:50Speaker 4: The thing I'm wondering, though, is why'd the baby get eaten?
- 41:54Speaker 4: Or not eaten, but taken.
- 41:57Speaker 8: Part of the family.
- 41:59Speaker 12: The baby didn't really do anything.
- 42:01Speaker 6: They're babies. They're all trouble.
- 42:03Speaker 8: Again, original sin. The kid just came out evil. I mean,
- 42:07Speaker 8: you saw the dad. Come on. What about the dog?
- 42:11Speaker 8: The dog started a fight with it.
- 42:13Speaker 6: Pooped in the bed.
- 42:14Speaker 8: There you go.
- 42:15Speaker 4: You got that right.
- 42:16Speaker 8: He did.
- 42:16Speaker 4: He pooped in the bed.
- 42:17Speaker 15: You're right.
- 42:19Speaker 2: They all suck.
- 42:19Speaker 12: I didn't think about that.
- 42:25Speaker 8: That dog was funny. There was their comic.
- 42:31Speaker 6: That dog was tolerable comic relief. I'm okay with that.
- 42:35Speaker 6: Them goddamn CG gingerbread men.
- 42:37Speaker 16: Oh, my God.
- 42:37Speaker 5: That's horrible.
- 42:38Speaker 6: Those are CG.
- 42:39Speaker 4: I also like how everybody in the family that picks
- 42:44Speaker 4: up either the handguns or the shotguns are automatically just
- 42:48Speaker 4: expert marksmen at hitting a moving target.
- 42:53Speaker 7: Yeah, I was kind of surprised, even like the first
- 42:56Speaker 7: time with Adam Scott, that he didn't have the safety
- 42:59Speaker 7: on or something.
- 42:59Speaker 6: He didn't accidentally shoot Redneck.
- 43:01Speaker 2: Or the other.
- 43:02Speaker 8: Yeah, yeah.
- 43:03Speaker 7: I mean, he could go ahead and kill the monster,
- 43:06Speaker 7: but at least the first time be like, damn it.
- 43:08Speaker 7: Because he's not.
- 43:10Speaker 8: A cun guy. He shouldn't know.
- 43:13Speaker 4: He doesn't shoot him in the leg accidentally. Accidentally on purpose.
- 43:18Speaker 6: That guy was a dick.
- 43:19Speaker 4: That's what I'm saying. He was kind of a douchebag.
- 43:24Speaker 12: I've met people like that.
- 43:26Speaker 8: There's a lot of people like that. There are.
- 43:28Speaker 4: I know a lot of people that are like that.
- 43:30Speaker 8: There's a lot. And those jerky kids.
- 43:37Speaker 6: I blame it on the kids. I blame it on
- 43:39Speaker 6: the cousins. If they just left little dude alone, everybody.
- 43:43Speaker 8: Would have been fine.
- 43:44Speaker 4: So technically it's not his fault.
- 43:45Speaker 6: That's what I just said earlier. It's the cousin's fault.
- 43:47Speaker 8: It's the cousin's fault.
- 43:48Speaker 6: That whole fam family.
- 43:50Speaker 4: Or it could be the dad's fault for raising such
- 43:53Speaker 4: crappy kids.
- 43:56Speaker 8: Or.
- 43:57Speaker 7: The sister's fault for marrying that dumbass and then having
- 44:00Speaker 7: these kids.
- 44:02Speaker 12: Or it could be society's fault.
- 44:05Speaker 4: Now we're just getting stupid.
- 44:06Speaker 6: It's the grandma's fault for having those kids in the
- 44:09Speaker 6: first place.
- 44:10Speaker 4: Exactly.
- 44:11Speaker 8: I was wondering that.
- 44:13Speaker 4: When does it get back to the grandma?
- 44:15Speaker 8: That was his mother.
- 44:16Speaker 4: But then it could be the village's fault.
- 44:19Speaker 7: So I was trying to decide if it was how
- 44:21Speaker 7: much the grandma ties to this one. She got to survive,
- 44:26Speaker 7: so how did it tie to this specifically?
- 44:28Speaker 8: Or she just happened to be in another sucky situation?
- 44:32Speaker 6: I liked the grandma story.
- 44:34Speaker 8: The animation?
- 44:36Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 44:36Speaker 4: Awesome.
- 44:37Speaker 6: That part was amazing.
- 44:38Speaker 12: Reminded me of James and the Giant Peach.
- 44:40Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 44:41Speaker 6: I could have watched an entire movie done in that style.
- 44:44Speaker 7: And I liked that it was like she was made
- 44:46Speaker 7: like that but everybody else was kind of They were shadowy.
- 44:49Speaker 7: Shadow puppets or like the old kind of.
- 44:51Speaker 4: Like one very one dimensional just paper.
- 44:55Speaker 8: Just like the old I think that was it. Shadow Puppets.
- 44:58Speaker 7: Yeah, the Shadow Puppets style that they used to do.
- 45:01Speaker 8: And that kind of made it even creepier.
- 45:03Speaker 12: Yeah.
- 45:04Speaker 7: And made her stand out that she really was in
- 45:06Speaker 7: this world with all these terrible people.
- 45:08Speaker 8: I don't know. That was really cool.
- 45:10Speaker 4: Yeah, because they were all just silhouettes. That's all they were.
- 45:13Speaker 8: That was really cool.
- 45:16Speaker 7: But he kind of likes to do that stuff because
- 45:17Speaker 7: that was the short bit. Trick or Treat came from
- 45:20Speaker 7: was animated, too, so I think he likes.
- 45:22Speaker 6: Yeah, but that was definitely more animation style and not the.
- 45:24Speaker 8: No, but again, I think it's just.
- 45:26Speaker 4: That was almost Charlie Brown.
- 45:28Speaker 8: I appreciate that he works that stuff in.
- 45:31Speaker 7: You can tell it's something that he's really into.
- 45:34Speaker 6: Could they not get their rights to Charlie Brown?
- 45:36Speaker 7: Yeah, I noticed they were using the dialogue like word
- 45:39Speaker 7: for word, but it was a crap, which I was
- 45:41Speaker 7: trying to decide.
- 45:41Speaker 8: I was like, are they.
- 45:43Speaker 7: Like, they couldn't get their rights to it, or is
- 45:45Speaker 7: it just like they're making fun of those dumb kid
- 45:47Speaker 7: videos that.
- 45:48Speaker 8: Are just rip-offs of stuff and do their own thing.
- 45:51Speaker 7: Because I see a lot of them now with my
- 45:54Speaker 7: nephews watching stuff, and I'm just like, what is this?
- 45:58Speaker 7: So just sometimes, there's.
- 46:00Speaker 8: A lot of really bad kid videos out there, so
- 46:03Speaker 8: maybe it's just.
- 46:04Speaker 4: The kids watching the wobbles.
- 46:06Speaker 8: Yeah, commenting on how dumb those things are.
- 46:08Speaker 4: Not the wiggles, but the wobbles.
- 46:09Speaker 8: You know, the wobbles.
- 46:15Speaker 6: The teleflubbies.
- 46:16Speaker 10: Bernie!
- 46:17Speaker 4: It's Bernie the big green dinosaur.
- 46:21Speaker 7: Hey, kids.
- 46:23Speaker 8: I'm on break right now. Come back later.
- 46:25Speaker 7: You suck, Bernie.
- 46:28Speaker 4: Well, if he's anything like the Bernie that I used
- 46:29Speaker 4: to work with, he's busy drinking alcohol and banging hookers.
- 46:33Speaker 6: Good times.
- 46:34Speaker 12: Good times.
- 46:35Speaker 4: And getting stabbed by hookers, too.
- 46:37Speaker 6: Double good times.
- 46:37Speaker 8: It is a touching children's tale.
- 46:40Speaker 6: Getting more for his money, you know?
- 46:41Speaker 4: Yeah, really. What's wrong with you?
- 46:45Speaker 8: More penetration.
- 46:45Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 46:46Speaker 2: What's wrong with you, Bernie? You're moving kind of weird today.
- 46:49Speaker 4: Oh, I got stabbed by a hooker. That was the
- 46:52Speaker 4: conversation we had at work. You're not moving too fast today, Bernie.
- 46:56Speaker 8: What's up?
- 46:57Speaker 6: Did he go to a hospital? No.
- 47:00Speaker 8: You don't want to have to explain that story.
- 47:02Speaker 4: She stabbed him with a, I think it was a
- 47:05Speaker 4: three inch kitchen knife. Three or four inch kitchen knife.
- 47:08Speaker 8: Stabbed him in the side.
- 47:11Speaker 2: I said, what the fuck, dude?
- 47:12Speaker 8: I was like, you need to go to the hospital.
- 47:15Speaker 4: I was like, what happened?
- 47:17Speaker 8: I was like, did you.
- 47:19Speaker 4: Beat the shit out of her?
- 47:20Speaker 6: He goes, ah, no.
- 47:21Speaker 4: We ended up fucking on the floor.
- 47:24Speaker 8: After her?
- 47:26Speaker 4: Right after she stabbed him.
- 47:28Speaker 8: I was like, are you fucking serious, dude? Maybe that's
- 47:32Speaker 8: their game.
- 47:32Speaker 4: That's the thing, but for the next couple weeks, I
- 47:37Speaker 4: remember he had, it literally was, it was a gaping
- 47:40Speaker 4: wound on his side. He showed me, because he kept
- 47:44Speaker 4: going and running to the break room.
- 47:47Speaker 12: Was he like oozing fluids?
- 47:48Speaker 2: Yeah, blood, stuff like that.
- 47:51Speaker 10: Gross.
- 47:52Speaker 4: Yeah, and he refused to go to the doctor.
- 47:55Speaker 8: You don't need a doctor, that's what that's for.
- 47:57Speaker 4: Yeah, I don't need a doctor. Just tape it shut,
- 48:00Speaker 4: you know. I can't say much. I've been accused of
- 48:02Speaker 4: similar situations.
- 48:04Speaker 7: I've held myself together with duct tape for years.
- 48:07Speaker 4: But never with hookers. Never, never with hookers.
- 48:11Speaker 8: I can't afford them. Anyways.
- 48:14Speaker 6: That's why you kill them and storm in the basement afterwards.
- 48:17Speaker 6: That's why you never let us in your house.
- 48:18Speaker 8: You can't prove that.
- 48:19Speaker 7: Maybe that's why I'm moving.
- 48:22Speaker 8: Anyway.
- 48:23Speaker 6: That's what we told everybody when you said you wouldn't
- 48:25Speaker 6: let us in your house. We're like all the dead
- 48:27Speaker 6: prostitutes everywhere. You won't let us in.
- 48:30Speaker 8: That's why I have to move now. After a while,
- 48:32Speaker 8: you run out of space. It's a lot to deal with.
- 48:35Speaker 6: I've told that story to so many people.
- 48:37Speaker 4: Bodies are piling up.
- 48:38Speaker 6: I'm surprised you haven't heard it from somebody else.
- 48:40Speaker 8: You think I haven't?
- 48:43Speaker 7: You think I haven't heard dead hooker stories? Anyway, Merry Christmas.
- 48:52Speaker 6: It's Krampus. It's different.
- 48:54Speaker 8: You get to tell hooker stories on Krampus. Merry Krampus. So,
- 49:00Speaker 8: you watched another Krampus movie?
- 49:01Speaker 6: I did. It wasn't specifically Krampus. It was actually all
- 49:06Speaker 6: the same kind of vein as Trick or Treat because
- 49:09Speaker 6: it actually was in segments. It had like four separate
- 49:12Speaker 6: stories that were all kind of woven together, but it
- 49:15Speaker 6: had no connection to Michael Dorky or whatever. his name
- 49:20Speaker 6: is but it's i guess it's kind of what i
- 49:22Speaker 6: wanted krampus to be more like because it had like
- 49:25Speaker 6: this it had the same kind of structure structure is
- 49:30Speaker 6: trick or treat because like i said there was four
- 49:31Speaker 6: stories but they were all independent but they all had
- 49:33Speaker 6: something that kind of tied them together in.
- 49:34Speaker 4: Some way like All their paths met at some point
- 49:38Speaker 4: in the film.
- 49:38Speaker 6: Yeah, they all crossed paths at some point.
- 49:40Speaker 4: I'm talking like I watched this, but I didn't. She
- 49:43Speaker 4: explained it to me. I was sitting on the couch
- 49:45Speaker 4: watching YouTube.
- 49:46Speaker 8: It's one of those situations.
- 49:48Speaker 6: Let me look it up real quick, because I think
- 49:49Speaker 6: it's relatively... Yeah, it's this year.
- 49:52Speaker 8: Okay, I knew there was another one that came out
- 49:53Speaker 8: this year.
- 49:54Speaker 4: It wasn't bad. I actually liked the Krampus in that movie.
- 49:56Speaker 12: He was kind of, like, badass.
- 49:59Speaker 8: Yeah, but.
- 50:00Speaker 6: Because in this one... This is probably going to be
- 50:02Speaker 6: spoilers for that one, too.
- 50:04Speaker 2: But.
- 50:05Speaker 6: So there are different segments, but the one that... Actually,
- 50:07Speaker 6: Krampus ends up in two of them. There's one where
- 50:10Speaker 6: it's like the rich old lady whose family kind of
- 50:13Speaker 6: forces their way into her home to try to get
- 50:15Speaker 6: money from her. Because they're apparently going broke.
- 50:19Speaker 8: Apparently.
- 50:19Speaker 6: I guess in the story, Krampus isn't specifically a one entity.
- 50:25Speaker 6: It kind of.
- 50:27Speaker 6: You become Krampus if you have these... If you get these...
- 50:32Speaker 6: If you get pissed off enough, and shit happens to
- 50:35Speaker 6: you enough, and you just.
- 50:37Speaker 8: Give yourself to the dark side.
- 50:39Speaker 6: Pretty much, because there's some cramping going on in that story,
- 50:42Speaker 6: because there's just... I liked it. I liked it. I
- 50:46Speaker 6: liked certain aspects more than others, but yeah, there's four
- 50:49Speaker 6: different stories, and there's one where it's four kids, and
- 50:54Speaker 6: they want to tell the story of a murder that
- 50:57Speaker 6: took place in the school. I guess I can look
- 50:59Speaker 6: up the actual... breakdown as to what IMDb says about it.
- 51:03Speaker 8: What's the name of this movie?
- 51:05Speaker 6: Christmas Horror Story.
- 51:07Speaker 12: Look up the Korean IMDb for it.
- 51:11Speaker 6: Oh, I want to do that.
- 51:13Speaker 12: You know how they always describe it back.
- 51:15Speaker 6: In the 90s. Interwoven stories that take place on Christmas
- 51:19Speaker 6: Eve is told by one festive radio host. A family
- 51:23Speaker 6: brings home more than a Christmas tree. A student documentary
- 51:27Speaker 6: broadcasts becomes a living nightmare, a Christmas spirit terrorizes, and
- 51:31Speaker 6: Santa slays evil.
- 51:35Speaker 7: Pigeon.
- 51:36Speaker 6: I know, right? The family that brings home more than
- 51:38Speaker 6: a Christmas tree, they trespass into this lot where it's
- 51:44Speaker 6: not supposed to go. But apparently while they're there, their kid,
- 51:48Speaker 6: being the dumb little fucker that he is, wanders off.
- 51:52Speaker 6: Like I said, this is going to be major spoilers
- 51:53Speaker 6: and everything. Because I'm going to tell you what the
- 51:55Speaker 6: fuck happens. Anyways, they think they find their kid. He
- 52:00Speaker 6: comes crawling out of a tree all weird. Like, not
- 52:02Speaker 6: quite right. But they're like, oh, maybe he's just... The
- 52:05Speaker 6: dad kind of almost beat him. So maybe he's just
- 52:07Speaker 6: kind of like, whoa, shit. So they take him back
- 52:10Speaker 6: and just, the kid's not right. So they get a
- 52:13Speaker 6: call from the guy who owns the lot. And it's like, hey,
- 52:15Speaker 6: you can't even steal my tree. The kid acting right?
- 52:17Speaker 6: That's kind of a.
- 52:21Speaker 4: How he got their phone number, we don't know.
- 52:23Speaker 6: License plate. He tracked their license plate.
- 52:25Speaker 12: That generally doesn't give you your cell phone number, does it?
- 52:28Speaker 6: I don't question the redneck thesis behind this.
- 52:32Speaker 3: Okay, whatever.
- 52:34Speaker 6: Yeah, so anyways, apparently they got themselves a changeling.
- 52:38Speaker 8: That happens.
- 52:39Speaker 12: Yeah, a changeling.
- 52:40Speaker 6: It was a changeling.
- 52:40Speaker 4: A wood imp.
- 52:41Speaker 6: Yeah, so there's some shenanigans that go down with that one.
- 52:45Speaker 6: And then the other story. student documentary because they're living
- 52:50Speaker 6: nightmares apparently a year ago.
- 52:55Speaker 11: A long time ago days and days way back last
- 52:59Speaker 11: year there were some kids killed horribly in the school
- 53:04Speaker 11: so the kids decided let's just do a documentary on
- 53:06Speaker 11: it so they bust up in there on the year
- 53:09Speaker 11: anniversary of it I feel like.
- 53:11Speaker 8: Other people would not be supportive of that a year
- 53:13Speaker 8: later I felt.
- 53:15Speaker 6: Kind of weird watching it because I was kind of
- 53:18Speaker 6: uncomfortable Because they had a sex scene and I'm watching
- 53:20Speaker 6: and I'm like, aren't these supposed to be kids? Are
- 53:23Speaker 6: we watching child pornography? Are they going to come bust
- 53:25Speaker 6: on our door for this? It wasn't graphic or anything.
- 53:28Speaker 6: You don't actually see anything. It's kind of a slutty girl.
- 53:33Speaker 6: She's not really cute, but she has a butter face.
- 53:36Speaker 6: She's got the long hair, so apparently that's supposed to
- 53:38Speaker 6: make her hot. But anyways, apparently the ghosts are trying
- 53:41Speaker 6: to get her pregnant or something.
- 53:42Speaker 8: I don't even know. I don't know.
- 53:47Speaker 6: Which one was a Christmas spirit terror?
- 53:49Speaker 8: Damn ghosts. Always trying to get them slutty chicks pregnant.
- 53:53Speaker 8: That's your cover story. Mom, I swear it was a ghost.
- 53:56Speaker 1: It's not my fault.
- 53:57Speaker 6: Apparently a long, long time ago it was a church.
- 53:59Speaker 6: And down in the basement area is where they kept
- 54:01Speaker 6: the unwed mothers. Because they weren't allowed to, you know,
- 54:04Speaker 6: do that and stuff. So one girl apparently killed herself
- 54:08Speaker 6: trying to abort her baby. So her ghost was trying
- 54:11Speaker 6: to make other girls carry... her aborted child or something.
- 54:14Speaker 6: And that's poor planning. Cause if you wanted that baby,
- 54:16Speaker 6: you should have not aborted it. I didn't come out clearly.
- 54:19Speaker 4: But yeah, yeah.
- 54:22Speaker 6: I can't remember which one a spirit, a Christmas spirit terrorizer.
- 54:28Speaker 6: What was that?
- 54:30Speaker 4: That's the one where the, uh, uh, the, the girl
- 54:33Speaker 4: becomes Krampus and the, the whole family gets killed. Remember her,
- 54:37Speaker 4: her shitty little, um, brother that knocks the grandmother's statue.
- 54:43Speaker 6: He was a shithead.
- 54:45Speaker 4: He was.
- 54:46Speaker 6: He was a serial killer in the making. He used
- 54:48Speaker 6: to kill their cats. That's just a horrible, horrible thing
- 54:50Speaker 6: to do.
- 54:51Speaker 8: That's not cool.
- 54:52Speaker 6: And then the Santa Slays Evil letters were probably kind
- 54:55Speaker 6: of my favorite part of the whole thing. Because it
- 54:57Speaker 6: takes place in the North Pole. Well, one of the
- 55:00Speaker 6: elves gets sick and all the other elves are like
- 55:01Speaker 6: freaking out. They're like, elves can't get sick. Elves can't die,
- 55:04Speaker 6: can they? You know what they get? Zombie elves.
- 55:09Speaker 3: Oh, no.
- 55:10Speaker 9: Mm-hmm.
- 55:11Speaker 6: So, Santa is all kinds of killing, like, having to
- 55:15Speaker 6: kill the elves and everything. Here's a picture of the poster.
- 55:17Speaker 6: The Krampus is fucking rowdy in that one, too.
- 55:20Speaker 8: That one's pretty awesome.
- 55:22Speaker 4: Krampus looks more like a goat in that one. But
- 55:24Speaker 4: he looks like a He-Man goat.
- 55:25Speaker 6: He actually has a goat face, too. It's not just, like, creepy, no-mouth,
- 55:28Speaker 6: open-end face.
- 55:29Speaker 4: Yeah, the Krampus from the movie.
- 55:31Speaker 7: It's like he's got the horns, but then his face
- 55:34Speaker 7: is just creepy old man mask from Spencer's Gift.
- 55:37Speaker 2: Exactly.
- 55:38Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah.
- 55:39Speaker 6: I'm not going to actually ruin the end of this
- 55:40Speaker 6: one because it was kind of a... It was... But
- 55:43Speaker 6: kind of tying the whole thing together is apparently there's
- 55:46Speaker 6: the radio station. Kind of where the guy's DJing all
- 55:50Speaker 6: night long talking about Christmas, getting drunk and all that shit.
- 55:53Speaker 6: It's William Shatner.
- 55:55Speaker 2: Oh, no.
- 55:55Speaker 6: So, yeah.
- 55:56Speaker 8: And this is recent. This year, William Shatner?
- 55:59Speaker 6: This year. Oh, man.
- 56:01Speaker 4: In between Priceline commercials.
- 56:03Speaker 6: In between overpricing shit at conventions.
- 56:05Speaker 2: Yeah, that too.
- 56:08Speaker 6: I liked it. I'm not going to lie.
- 56:11Speaker 4: I like the parts of it that I watched. And
- 56:13Speaker 4: the parts of it that you explained to me.
- 56:15Speaker 6: I had to explain a lot of it.
- 56:16Speaker 4: As I was not watching it.
- 56:19Speaker 6: But I liked it quite a great deal. I think
- 56:21Speaker 6: another Krampus movie is coming out. When is the... Isn't
- 56:27Speaker 6: Kevin Smith making a Krampus movie? Is that the Anticaus
- 56:30Speaker 6: or something?
- 56:31Speaker 7: He's making like nine things. For a guy who was
- 56:33Speaker 7: retiring from filmmaking like two or three years ago, he's making.
- 56:37Speaker 8: 14 movies now.
- 56:39Speaker 6: Anyways, A Christmas Horror Story came out October 2nd. It
- 56:43Speaker 6: is very recent. So if you haven't seen it yet,
- 56:46Speaker 6: I probably just spoiled the hell out of it. I
- 56:47Speaker 6: didn't give you the big main spoiler at the end,
- 56:50Speaker 6: which was my favorite part of the whole movie. I'll
- 56:52Speaker 6: tell Brian later and ruin it for him.
- 56:54Speaker 8: Thank you.
- 56:54Speaker 2: You're welcome.
- 56:55Speaker 4: It was pretty good. I liked the end. Because actually
- 56:57Speaker 4: at that point towards the end, I was actually kind
- 56:59Speaker 4: of watching it a little bit.
- 57:02Speaker 6: And I actually didn't see the ending coming.
- 57:04Speaker 4: Yeah, me neither.
- 57:05Speaker 6: Well, you didn't watch the movie enough to know it
- 57:07Speaker 6: was coming.
- 57:07Speaker 4: Well, I mean, I watched parts of it. I knew
- 57:10Speaker 4: what was going on at the beginning of it, because
- 57:12Speaker 4: they flashed to that at the very, very beginning of
- 57:14Speaker 4: the movie. But some of the other stories I didn't
- 57:20Speaker 4: care for.
- 57:21Speaker 6: The Santa Claus in it's a badass, though. I ain't
- 57:22Speaker 6: even going to lie. He's like a, would you say
- 57:24Speaker 6: he's like a Nordic Santa Claus a little bit?
- 57:27Speaker 4: Yeah, he seems very Viking-like, you know.
- 57:33Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 57:33Speaker 6: Like old Viking, like the breeze.
- 57:35Speaker 4: Yeah, very, very Norse.
- 57:37Speaker 6: To me, that's all you've got to have to be
- 57:38Speaker 6: a Viking is a braid.
- 57:39Speaker 4: But I was like, yeah, this guy. And he's got
- 57:42Speaker 4: a big, huge scar down his face. And I was like, yeah,
- 57:45Speaker 4: this guy looks like badass Santa. Well, no, he looks
- 57:48Speaker 4: more like what would be an old, original version of
- 57:52Speaker 4: Santa Claus.
- 57:53Speaker 8: Pre-Coca-Cola version of Santa Claus.
- 57:55Speaker 4: Yeah, pre-diabetes Santa Claus, you know. Or it's like, oh,
- 57:58Speaker 4: he's been eating too many cookies. This is back before
- 58:02Speaker 4: the cookies when he was still working out and, you know.
- 58:06Speaker 4: drinking the blood of his enemies out of their skulls
- 58:08Speaker 4: and stuff like that.
- 58:09Speaker 6: He wasn't buffering. He was just a big dude.
- 58:11Speaker 4: He was just a big guy.
- 58:12Speaker 8: That happens when you live in... You gotta pack on
- 58:16Speaker 8: some pounds so you don't freeze it.
- 58:17Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 58:18Speaker 4: A big Santa Krampus fight scene.
- 58:21Speaker 6: At the end, there was a big throwdown, too. There
- 58:23Speaker 6: was a good old... They were fighting and... Yeah.
- 58:27Speaker 2: And.
- 58:29Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 58:29Speaker 6: Alright. Then you get to the end, which I'm not
- 58:31Speaker 6: gonna spoil for everybody because I'm not that much of
- 58:33Speaker 6: an asshole, which kind of I am. But I'll just
- 58:37Speaker 6: Are you going to watch the movie?
- 58:38Speaker 4: Probably.
- 58:39Speaker 8: It looks pretty cool. Is there anything else to pass
- 58:43Speaker 8: along this holiday season?
- 58:46Speaker 6: Moral of this week's episode is don't be an asshole.
- 58:48Speaker 6: That's all I got.
- 58:50Speaker 7: I will say one of my favorite scenes in the
- 58:54Speaker 7: first movie in this year's Krampus.
- 58:57Speaker 8: Both of them were this year. The one we just saw.
- 59:03Speaker 6: I saw the other one days ago, so it's technically
- 59:05Speaker 6: kind of like just seeing.
- 59:05Speaker 7: It the kid fishing scene is pretty damn funny the
- 59:10Speaker 7: kid fishing oh yeah yeah the kid fishing scene yeah
- 59:15Speaker 7: Chain and a hook down there like, hey, hey.
- 59:18Speaker 6: He knew the little fat guy was going to go
- 59:20Speaker 6: after it. And I was okay with that until the
- 59:22Speaker 6: fucking gingerbread guy came alive. I don't like that shit.
- 59:24Speaker 6: If they just left it a damn cookie.
- 59:26Speaker 7: If they just left it at that, like if you
- 59:28Speaker 7: didn't see anything else after that.
- 59:29Speaker 8: Because that's the thing.
- 59:30Speaker 7: You can hear the weird little like noises and running
- 59:32Speaker 7: around earlier.
- 59:33Speaker 8: And I'm like, that was just kind of creepy. Like
- 59:35Speaker 8: if they just left it at that, like it would
- 59:37Speaker 8: have been tolerable.
- 59:37Speaker 6: And I'm like, how did that shit not wake anybody up?
- 59:39Speaker 6: Maybe it's just me. Maybe I'm a light sleeper. I
- 59:41Speaker 6: would have heard that shit. I would have heard a
- 59:42Speaker 6: fucking chain rattling down my damn chimney. Assuming I had
- 59:46Speaker 6: a chimney.
- 59:46Speaker 8: You just want that gingerbread man.
- 59:48Speaker 4: You're like, ooh. Or after you got attacked by all
- 59:51Speaker 4: that shit, how the fuck do you fall asleep?
- 59:54Speaker 6: The entire fucking family.
- 59:55Speaker 4: When you're on watch. You had one fucking job to do.
- 59:59Speaker 4: One fucking job and you fell asleep.
- 1:00:01Speaker 12: You dumbass.
- 1:00:02Speaker 8: Cousin Eddie's kind of a dumbass.
- 1:00:04Speaker 4: Cousin Eddie's an idiot.
- 1:00:05Speaker 12: Yeah.
- 1:00:06Speaker 6: Why would you leave the guy who's had the wound injury,
- 1:00:09Speaker 6: wound injury, leaking blood, blood loss, you're going to leave
- 1:00:13Speaker 6: him on the first watch? Great fucking plan there, Skippy.
- 1:00:16Speaker 12: Yeah.
- 1:00:16Speaker 6: No, I wouldn't have left him on the first watch.
- 1:00:20Speaker 6: Maybe that's just me.
- 1:00:21Speaker 4: Yeah, they all died anyways.
- 1:00:24Speaker 6: Most of them had it coming.
- 1:00:26Speaker 8: Yeah, they did.
- 1:00:28Speaker 7: Again, I give it credit for not, you know, listening
- 1:00:31Speaker 7: out on that. It just started taking people out and
- 1:00:34Speaker 7: Eventually it took out the whole family through the kids.
- 1:00:37Speaker 4: And the whole neighborhood, really, if you think about it.
- 1:00:39Speaker 8: I mean, well, that's what I was trying to decide.
- 1:00:41Speaker 7: It was like by the end, it was like, that's
- 1:00:43Speaker 7: why I said in the beginning, you don't know what's
- 1:00:44Speaker 7: going on. So by the end, do we assume it
- 1:00:47Speaker 7: didn't take out the whole thing? Like from that point on,
- 1:00:50Speaker 7: they were just in the snow globe.
- 1:00:52Speaker 4: Possibly.
- 1:00:53Speaker 7: And the outside world isn't the outside world because there
- 1:00:56Speaker 7: is no outside world.
- 1:00:57Speaker 8: It's just them. I don't know. He's just thrown into
- 1:01:00Speaker 8: set dressing.
- 1:01:01Speaker 4: Maybe he was bad, too. He was DHL. He wasn't UPS.
- 1:01:08Speaker 4: He was DHL.
- 1:01:09Speaker 6: I would have bought it if it was UPS.
- 1:01:12Speaker 4: They are pure evil.
- 1:01:14Speaker 8: No shit. So, I don't know.
- 1:01:19Speaker 7: By the end, that's kind of why I was like,
- 1:01:20Speaker 7: that's why there's no one else in the neighborhood. Everything
- 1:01:23Speaker 7: else is empty and dead and creepy because.
- 1:01:26Speaker 8: It's all fictional anyway. It's all.
- 1:01:28Speaker 7: just to mess with them and just to make them
- 1:01:30Speaker 7: be extra creeped out. That was sort of why I
- 1:01:33Speaker 7: was like, okay, that makes sense why it's so weird now.
- 1:01:37Speaker 8: But it still looked awesome.
- 1:01:38Speaker 6: It looked awesome. Like I said, I set my expectations
- 1:01:41Speaker 6: way too high. I wanted the Christmas version of Trick
- 1:01:43Speaker 6: or Treat, and I didn't really get it, I don't think.
- 1:01:45Speaker 6: I guess it's because I liked the format of Trick
- 1:01:47Speaker 6: or Treat so much. I liked the different stories. I
- 1:01:50Speaker 6: liked how they kind of weaved together, but I can
- 1:01:52Speaker 6: understand why you wouldn't want to do it. But he
- 1:01:53Speaker 6: is making Trick or Treat 2, so I'm hoping... I'm
- 1:01:56Speaker 6: hoping that that stays with the format of Trick or
- 1:01:58Speaker 6: Treat and doesn't try to be like, I'm going to
- 1:02:00Speaker 6: do something different. Nobody wants anything different. I want the
- 1:02:02Speaker 6: same thing, just slightly different.
- 1:02:04Speaker 7: I would feel bad if he got stuck doing nothing
- 1:02:06Speaker 7: but that.
- 1:02:07Speaker 8: I have to do the same four stories every movie.
- 1:02:10Speaker 6: No, four different stories.
- 1:02:14Speaker 12: Format.
- 1:02:16Speaker 7: So anyway, again, I think he's got really great visual style.
- 1:02:20Speaker 7: I want to see more from him, including Trick or
- 1:02:22Speaker 7: Treat 2, so more from him, but. Yeah, the middle
- 1:02:26Speaker 7: part gets a little silly.
- 1:02:28Speaker 2: All right.
- 1:02:29Speaker 8: You've passed things along. I guess tell him goodbye.
- 1:02:33Speaker 6: Goodbye.
- 1:02:34Speaker 8: Merry Krampus.
- 1:02:35Speaker 14: I sat on Deadpool's lap today. He was cardboard, but
- 1:02:38Speaker 14: that's okay. If you hang out in movie lobbies, you
- 1:02:41Speaker 14: might know what she's talking about. It's a giant cardboard
- 1:02:44Speaker 14: cutout for the Deadpool movie.
- 1:02:47Speaker 8: We saw the trailer again. I still can't decide if
- 1:02:49Speaker 8: it's going to be terrible or not.
- 1:02:51Speaker 6: I want to see it, but I'm afraid that it's
- 1:02:52Speaker 6: going to be stupid.
- 1:02:52Speaker 12: What's the rating on it?
- 1:02:54Speaker 7: Think it's R, because they made a big deal about
- 1:02:56Speaker 7: it being R.
- 1:02:57Speaker 12: Well, yeah, it needs to be.
- 1:02:59Speaker 8: Yeah, yeah. So, I don't know.
- 1:03:02Speaker 7: It seems like it's so self-aware, it may... I mean,
- 1:03:05Speaker 7: the Green Lantern joke, because I was just like, you're
- 1:03:08Speaker 7: almost crossing the line into just dumb self-aware.
- 1:03:12Speaker 8: Yeah, yeah. It's... But that's the whole point of him.
- 1:03:15Speaker 8: But it is how that character works. Like, I get that, but, like,
- 1:03:18Speaker 8: some of the jokes seem so dumb.
- 1:03:21Speaker 12: Like.
- 1:03:21Speaker 7: I'm afraid it's going to go down that rabbit hole
- 1:03:24Speaker 7: and never come back.
- 1:03:25Speaker 8: I don't know. I'm hoping I'm wrong.
- 1:03:27Speaker 7: I'm hoping I've just seen a couple of bad jokes
- 1:03:30Speaker 7: in the trailer, but some of them.
- 1:03:31Speaker 8: Are really lowbrow, stupid jokes. And I'm hoping it's not
- 1:03:36Speaker 8: all that. Cause again, it's written.
- 1:03:37Speaker 4: These are the best parts of the movie right here.
- 1:03:39Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 1:03:40Speaker 8: I'm hoping that's not the case.
- 1:03:42Speaker 7: It's again, the comic, I think his stuff is written
- 1:03:45Speaker 7: to be a little more clever and funny. And I
- 1:03:47Speaker 7: feel like some of the stuff in that first trailer,
- 1:03:49Speaker 7: we're going for that, but, I'm hoping that.
- 1:03:52Speaker 8: Was just some outtakes that they're not even going to
- 1:03:54Speaker 8: put in the movie. We'll see. Anyway, you sat on
- 1:03:59Speaker 8: Deadpool's lap.
- 1:04:00Speaker 6: I did. I was afraid it wasn't going to hold me.
- 1:04:03Speaker 8: You were assured by the girl in the lobby.
- 1:04:05Speaker 6: She's like, yeah, it'll hold your fat ass. Go ahead,
- 1:04:07Speaker 6: sit on down there.
- 1:04:08Speaker 8: Don't think that's exactly what she said.
- 1:04:10Speaker 6: She's a little bit nicer about it.
- 1:04:12Speaker 8: She's like, we've all sat on it. We had a
- 1:04:14Speaker 8: bunch of people on it. We made out with Deadpool.
- 1:04:16Speaker 8: It's cool. You're fine.
- 1:04:19Speaker 13: All right.
- 1:04:22Speaker 8: Thank you for joining us on this Krampus holiday special.
- 1:04:26Speaker 6: With the spooky, spooky fog out there. I'm Krampus, bitch.
- 1:04:29Speaker 12: I'll do whatever I please.
- 1:04:31Speaker 2: This is my expertise.
- 1:04:33Speaker 8: Around the world, it's all the same. Children freeze when
- 1:04:36Speaker 8: they hear my name. Krampus, please don't beat me so.
- 1:04:40Speaker 10: But do I listen?
- 1:04:41Speaker 11: Sadly, no.
- 1:04:42Speaker 4: 80% of kids.
- 1:04:43Speaker 17: Did have turned into dirt bags.
- 1:04:48Speaker 8: I just laughed.
- 1:04:51Speaker 10: But Steve, oh Steve, you are the worst.
- 1:04:53Speaker 8: Slap that butt with.
- 1:04:54Speaker 1: A branch of birch.
- 1:04:56Speaker 17: Shake them chains till your ears go numb. See, not
- 1:04:59Speaker 17: just what you've become. Show you that life is pain,
- 1:05:03Speaker 17: not some silly, stupid game.
- 1:05:06Speaker 8: We do it my way.
- 1:05:08Speaker 17: And because you haven't learned your lesson, you get to run.
- 1:05:15Speaker 3: You get to Want some music for your ears? Doo-Wop

- 1:05:37Speaker 3: them online at DooWopShop.com. Doo-Wop Shop.
- 1:05:41Speaker 8: We're serious about music.
- 1:05:52Speaker 1: Hello, this is Tom Cade, the voice of the professor.
- 1:05:55Speaker 7: From The Powerpuff Girls, and you're listening to Movie Meltdown.
- 1:06:00Speaker 1: Oh, I love it so.
- 1:06:01Speaker 5: Oh, no.
- 1:06:01Speaker 6: What if I don't get my official Red Raider Carbine
- 1:06:04Speaker 6: Action 200 Shot Rage Model Air Rifle?
- 1:06:06Speaker 7: That's part of.
- 1:06:10Speaker 8: Your problem, you know.
- 1:06:11Speaker 6: You haven't seen enough movies.
- 1:06:13Speaker 2: All of life's riddles are answered in the movies. And now,
- 1:06:17Speaker 2: on with the show.
- 1:06:24Speaker 1: I'm going to punish you.
- 1:06:26Speaker 8: You ain't experienced. All that I've been through.
- 1:06:31Speaker 1: She said the kid was mine.
- 1:06:33Speaker 8: But it looked.
- 1:06:34Speaker 17: Just like Dennis.
- 1:06:37Speaker 8: That damn Dennis.
- 1:06:40Speaker 17: And because you haven't learned your lesson, you get to run.
- 1:06:45Speaker 4: You get to run.
- 1:06:47Speaker 7: All right, so we're back here at the festivities, at
- 1:06:50Speaker 7: the Krampus night party. So far, they've not managed to
- 1:06:54Speaker 7: set the place on fire.
- 1:06:55Speaker 8: You were trying earlier.
- 1:06:56Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 1:06:57Speaker 8: But I can't complain because we also had popcorn, which
- 1:07:01Speaker 8: everything's made better with popcorn.
- 1:07:03Speaker 2: Especially movies.
- 1:07:04Speaker 7: Especially movies. Especially real, it was actual pop. That's why
- 1:07:08Speaker 7: there was almost a fire. It's not like crappy microwave popcorn.
- 1:07:11Speaker 2: Well, it told me to wait three minutes while you
- 1:07:13Speaker 2: warm it up before you put the oil in.
- 1:07:15Speaker 8: And then throw a lit match in. And then I
- 1:07:17Speaker 8: don't know why it went this way.
- 1:07:19Speaker 2: Apparently it turns into a smoke machine after two minutes.
- 1:07:22Speaker 8: Oh, that explains that rock star thing that's going on.
- 1:07:24Speaker 2: Laser lights and all sorts of stuff.
- 1:07:26Speaker 8: Well, luckily I.
- 1:07:27Speaker 7: Brought my electric guitar. I'm going to go take over
- 1:07:30Speaker 7: the street out front.
- 1:07:31Speaker 2: See, you can watch a movie anytime and it's just
- 1:07:33Speaker 2: a movie. But if you watch a movie and eat popcorn,
- 1:07:36Speaker 2: it's a film.
- 1:07:37Speaker 7: It is, much like I was a teenage Frankenstein.
- 1:07:41Speaker 8: A classy art film that we just watched. We weren't
- 1:07:44Speaker 8: making fun of the whole time, I swear.
- 1:07:47Speaker 7: Speaking of taking over the street out front, we have
- 1:07:50Speaker 7: so far yet to mention this that's going on.
- 1:07:52Speaker 8: We can kind of see him from this window right now.
- 1:07:54Speaker 12: It is lovely.
- 1:07:55Speaker 8: Please describe for the people at home or wherever they
- 1:07:58Speaker 8: live right now.
- 1:07:59Speaker 2: Right now, I am staring at a vintage-style Winnebago. It's
- 1:08:03Speaker 2: a newer model, but it's a vintage style.
- 1:08:05Speaker 8: It's meant to look really old.
- 1:08:06Speaker 15: Filled with incredibly intoxicated older white men, all dressed up
- 1:08:13Speaker 15: in crappy Santa costumes with some ladies of the evening,
- 1:08:17Speaker 15: I do believe.
- 1:08:18Speaker 8: We're putting money on.
- 1:08:19Speaker 2: That's where I'm going to put my money.
- 1:08:20Speaker 7: That one in particular, I'm like, yeah, she's totally paid for.
- 1:08:25Speaker 7: I mean, I guess we're all paid for in our
- 1:08:27Speaker 7: own way. We all make our adjustments in life as
- 1:08:31Speaker 7: to what we're going to do and how much money
- 1:08:34Speaker 7: it takes for us to do it.
- 1:08:35Speaker 2: And if you listen really closely, you can hear Journey playing.
- 1:08:39Speaker 8: Hey, wait, I did hear it.
- 1:08:41Speaker 2: It was.
- 1:08:41Speaker 8: Now I have to sing the song to.
- 1:08:44Speaker 3: Get to the chorus.
- 1:08:45Speaker 8: Just a small town boy What is that?
- 1:08:50Speaker 2: Faithfully?
- 1:08:51Speaker 8: Faithfully There's that electric guitar kicking in. Look, you can
- 1:08:55Speaker 8: see it right there.
- 1:08:56Speaker 7: I did hear it faithfully cranked out front, which is
- 1:08:59Speaker 7: pretty bad because I had our music cranked way louder.
- 1:09:03Speaker 8: So the fact that I could still hear faithfully, God
- 1:09:05Speaker 8: knows what level they had it. They had it up
- 1:09:07Speaker 8: to 11.
- 1:09:08Speaker 2: There is nothing faithful going on in that Winnebago.
- 1:09:10Speaker 8: No. That's why I got mad with that girl when
- 1:09:13Speaker 8: she got out of the room. Where do you think
- 1:09:15Speaker 8: you're going?
- 1:09:15Speaker 2: You're paid for all night. He seriously was mad at
- 1:09:18Speaker 2: her for not wearing the Santa Claus outfit.
- 1:09:20Speaker 8: Damn it, there's rules to this outing.
- 1:09:21Speaker 7: If you're coming along with the Santa crew, you're going
- 1:09:24Speaker 7: to wear your Santa Claus hat.
- 1:09:26Speaker 2: Blood in, blood out.
- 1:09:27Speaker 8: I only like doing it with women who have beards on.
- 1:09:30Speaker 8: It's a very specific thing they have.
- 1:09:33Speaker 2: Speaking of great Santa beards, it reminds me of the
- 1:09:36Speaker 2: first time I cried publicly. When I saw the Trailer
- 1:09:41Speaker 2: Park Boys Christmas special, and Jim Lee, he comes out
- 1:09:45Speaker 2: with a grocery bag. Around his head for a beard.
- 1:09:49Speaker 2: That has to be one of the funniest things I've
- 1:09:50Speaker 2: ever seen.
- 1:09:51Speaker 8: And you do that regularly now? Totally. Every time.
- 1:09:56Speaker 2: Especially when I sleep. Just put that plastic bag around
- 1:10:00Speaker 2: my mouth and sleep.
- 1:10:02Speaker 8: Kids, don't try that at home. He can do whatever
- 1:10:05Speaker 8: he wants, but I'm telling you, shh, don't do that.
- 1:10:07Speaker 14: It's okay.
- 1:10:08Speaker 7: We've also had some choice music, as I said. I
- 1:10:12Speaker 7: volunteered myself to show up with the music. So I
- 1:10:15Speaker 7: put together a very special.
- 1:10:17Speaker 8: Collection of music all night long. There's only so many
- 1:10:20Speaker 8: Krampus songs you can come across, as I discussed earlier.
- 1:10:22Speaker 8: But yeah, I got a few. We're going to go
- 1:10:26Speaker 8: out on one.
- 1:10:27Speaker 7: But before that, I worked in a lot of other
- 1:10:30Speaker 7: Twisted Ones. Someone downstairs was really excited about Walking Around
- 1:10:35Speaker 7: in Women's Underwear, which is a classic holiday tune as
- 1:10:38Speaker 7: far as I'm concerned. Of course I put that one
- 1:10:40Speaker 7: in there. Worked in, it was like weird, really weird.
- 1:10:44Speaker 8: Like I was telling you earlier, the weirdest ones were
- 1:10:46Speaker 8: like early 60s.
- 1:10:48Speaker 7: And they sound like standard rock songs of the time,
- 1:10:51Speaker 7: but they're all like Santa Claus and aliens.
- 1:10:54Speaker 8: And the cowgirl one, it's I'm going to lasso Santa Claus.
- 1:10:59Speaker 2: There's a lot of weird undertones from them. It was
- 1:11:02Speaker 2: a very repressed society.
- 1:11:04Speaker 8: Yes, it was.
- 1:11:05Speaker 7: That's what led to the one that's the beach-themed one.
- 1:11:10Speaker 8: That's all about like teenagers.
- 1:11:12Speaker 7: So it was basically like beach blanket bingo, only like
- 1:11:15Speaker 7: yay Christmas. Like it's like we're teenagers and.
- 1:11:18Speaker 8: We're going to have a good time on the beach.
- 1:11:20Speaker 2: Oh yeah.
- 1:11:20Speaker 8: Did I mention Christmas?
- 1:11:21Speaker 7: Like it's like cramming a lot of different genres of
- 1:11:24Speaker 7: like things that were popular at the time.
- 1:11:26Speaker 8: And they're just like, everybody loves Christmas. Hey, you know
- 1:11:29Speaker 8: what's cool now?
- 1:11:29Speaker 2: Beach movies.
- 1:11:30Speaker 7: All right.
- 1:11:31Speaker 8: So they were just like cramming them all into one song.
- 1:11:34Speaker 7: So I've enjoyed this holiday DJ thing that I came.
- 1:11:38Speaker 2: Up with as it's, Yeah, this is like the biggest
- 1:11:42Speaker 2: ramshackle of an event ever. You're like, I'm going to
- 1:11:44Speaker 2: do this music stuff.
- 1:11:46Speaker 14: Cool.
- 1:11:46Speaker 2: I'm going to have popcorn and movies.
- 1:11:48Speaker 8: Hell yeah. Awesome. And Krampus.
- 1:11:50Speaker 6: Yep.
- 1:11:51Speaker 8: That's how these things come together. You should be kicking
- 1:11:55Speaker 8: yourself if you weren't here.
- 1:11:56Speaker 2: It was amazing.
- 1:11:56Speaker 8: To share in the wonder that it's Krampus night.
- 1:11:59Speaker 2: This magic will never happen again. Ever. You missed it.
- 1:12:03Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 1:12:04Speaker 7: I mean, we'll try to put something else for you
- 1:12:06Speaker 7: together in the future, and you can try to come
- 1:12:08Speaker 7: to that, but you missed this one.
- 1:12:10Speaker 2: You can definitely grab some of the magic of tonight
- 1:12:12Speaker 2: at Sink or Swim Art Gallery, 962 Baxter Avenue, Louisville, Kentucky,
- 1:12:17Speaker 2: right across from Wick's Pizza, and buy some art.
- 1:12:20Speaker 8: Don't you have one of those internet pages?
- 1:12:22Speaker 4: Yes, we do.
- 1:12:23Speaker 2: We are at www.sinkorswimartgallery.bigcartel.com.
- 1:12:29Speaker 7: And he has some awesome artwork, most of which is his,
- 1:12:32Speaker 7: I think. I mean, there's other people down there, but
- 1:12:34Speaker 7: yours is pretty impressive.
- 1:12:35Speaker 2: Thank you.
- 1:12:36Speaker 7: Your Krampus that you did for this very event was
- 1:12:38Speaker 7: pretty impressive.
- 1:12:39Speaker 2: Thank you.
- 1:12:40Speaker 7: I finally sort of finished mine, so I slapped it
- 1:12:43Speaker 7: on the invitation that I put out for everyone.
- 1:12:46Speaker 8: You saw how many millions of people came because they
- 1:12:48Speaker 8: saw that awesome Krampus.
- 1:12:50Speaker 7: Yeah, it's... So it's good that we did original Krampus
- 1:12:55Speaker 7: artwork just for this.
- 1:12:56Speaker 2: Hopefully by next year, I will have a full Krampus costume.
- 1:13:00Speaker 8: She's working on it. I've seen photos, people.
- 1:13:02Speaker 2: It's at home right now, scaring his children.
- 1:13:07Speaker 8: Or your wife has it on. It's scaring the children
- 1:13:09Speaker 8: as she runs around the house.
- 1:13:10Speaker 2: Either way, the kids are terrified right now.
- 1:13:11Speaker 8: That's all that matters.
- 1:13:15Speaker 9: All right.
- 1:13:15Speaker 8: Well, we've told them where they should have been and
- 1:13:17Speaker 8: where they should come in the future.
- 1:13:18Speaker 7: So I guess we can wrap it up. And to
- 1:13:20Speaker 7: wrap it up, once again, we'll go out with a song.
- 1:13:22Speaker 7: And I had only found a couple of Krampus songs.
- 1:13:25Speaker 7: This one, Misty found herself after we finished recording and
- 1:13:28Speaker 7: she was totally thrilled with it. And I'll just leave
- 1:13:31Speaker 7: her giggling in the background the whole time because she
- 1:13:33Speaker 7: really enjoys it.
- 1:13:35Speaker 8: Otherwise, that about does it. We will return next time.
- 1:13:37Speaker 8: Same geek feed. Thanks for listening.
