- 0:02Speaker 1: What's up everybody, and welcome to the show. This is
- 0:04Speaker 1: JFK Book Reviews, a division of the Lone Gum and Podcast.
- 0:08Speaker 1: I'm one of the hosts, Rob Clark, along with me
- 0:11Speaker 1: Joe Borelli, and today we are going to be reviewing
- 0:14Speaker 1: the book prayer Man More Than a Fuzzy Picture by
- 0:20Speaker 1: mister bart Camp. This book was written in twenty twenty three. Well,
- 0:28Speaker 1: it was written before twenty twenty three, but it was
- 0:30Speaker 1: published in twenty twenty three by bart Camp Publishing Company.
- 0:35Speaker 1: That means he published it himself. This book is four
- 0:40Speaker 1: hundred and nineteen pages long. It's divided into three chapters,
- 0:45Speaker 1: but all three chapters have many many sub chapters and
- 0:50Speaker 1: topics within each one pertaining to different aspects of the book.
- 0:58Speaker 1: This book does not contain footnotes in the paperback version,
- 1:05Speaker 1: and there's a reason for that, and we'll get there,
- 1:07Speaker 1: I promise. It does have an index, no real appendixes,
- 1:17Speaker 1: no pictures, and again there's a reason for that as well.
- 1:23Speaker 1: The book is available in softcover and also on Kindle.
- 1:28Speaker 2: Now.
- 1:29Speaker 1: Bart Camp is a is a former professional photographer and
- 1:35Speaker 1: he is currently an electrical technician and international world traveler.
- 1:41Speaker 1: Total of documents for mister Malcolm Blunt and esteemed member
- 1:47Speaker 1: of Daily Plaza UK and author. You can add that
- 1:52Speaker 1: to the list. And he is also a friend of
- 1:55Speaker 1: this show, end of us. In particularly personally, Bart has
- 2:06Speaker 1: a dogged personality and that's not a bad thing because
- 2:13Speaker 1: he is a relentless researcher when it comes to various
- 2:17Speaker 1: aspects of the assassination and this one has been one
- 2:20Speaker 1: of his pet projects for probably the last ten or
- 2:23Speaker 1: fifteen years, and he has constantly, constantly gathered and gathered
- 2:28Speaker 1: information in documents and found new documents to support his
- 2:33Speaker 1: arguments contained in the book. And this book definitely leans
- 2:40Speaker 1: towards a conspiracy. So with that being said, Joe, let's
- 2:44Speaker 1: get into the meat and taters if you will.
- 2:48Speaker 2: Sure so, as you mentioned, it really has three main chapters.
- 2:56Speaker 2: But what the author hoped to achieve in writing this book,
- 2:59Speaker 2: I think that's fairly obvious, and that is to disprove
- 3:03Speaker 2: the official narrative that Lee Harvey Oswald was on the
- 3:06Speaker 2: sixth floor but instead on the front steps of the
- 3:09Speaker 2: Texas School Book Depository. The author, mister Camp also challenges
- 3:13Speaker 2: other aspects to the official story, like the second floor
- 3:16Speaker 2: lunchroom encounter, movements of other TSBD employees, pomperns on the
- 3:21Speaker 2: rifle and other ballistic evidence, and I do think he
- 3:25Speaker 2: achieved those goals up and of course recently there's a
- 3:29Speaker 2: lot of media about Luna trying to get NBC to
- 3:34Speaker 2: release whatever they have, possibly the originals of the Darnell
- 3:38Speaker 2: and Weedman films, So I'm sure Bart is excited about that.
- 3:43Speaker 2: But the central the core thesis revolves around the prayer
- 3:47Speaker 2: Man figure, a blurry figure standing in the TSBD doorway
- 3:52Speaker 2: during the assassination. The author analyzes this image, alongside with
- 3:57Speaker 2: witness statements, police reports, and art Kyal footage, to assert
- 4:01Speaker 2: that if that it depicts Oswalt, who was not of
- 4:04Speaker 2: the sixth floors claimed, but rather on the first floor
- 4:08Speaker 2: with his fellow employees. So in chapter one he sets
- 4:12Speaker 2: the table very nicely in the prayer Man intro chapters
- 4:17Speaker 2: talking about the video and picture evidence, starting with like
- 4:20Speaker 2: Algin six photo, the Weigman, Darnell Couchville film, and the
- 4:25Speaker 2: history of prayer Man research, giving proper credit to the
- 4:27Speaker 2: researchers before him that had made this claim. But Part
- 4:31Speaker 2: takes this research and brings it to another level. He
- 4:35Speaker 2: injects it with steroids and of course also having the
- 4:39Speaker 2: advantage of the newer document releases. And the second part
- 4:44Speaker 2: of chapter one, he introduces the relevant employees or pretty
- 4:48Speaker 2: much all the employees, but starts with the relevant ones
- 4:51Speaker 2: of the TSBD, meticulously comparing initial and later statements and
- 4:55Speaker 2: pointing out their inconsistencies. Chapter two quote inside the TSBD,
- 5:01Speaker 2: Mister camp quoes floor by floor, starting with Eddie Piper,
- 5:04Speaker 2: Troy West and layout on the stairs and elevators on
- 5:07Speaker 2: the first floor, before going up to the second, four employees, third,
- 5:12Speaker 2: four employees, fourth, fifth, finally ending with the sixth and
- 5:17Speaker 2: even describes what was going on the seventh floor. I
- 5:21Speaker 2: absolutely love Rob the way he formatted this and dug
- 5:25Speaker 2: into the employees, some of them we hear little about.
- 5:31Speaker 2: So Chapter three then starts a timeline from when Oswalt
- 5:34Speaker 2: is first integrated, interrogated and by who, and this comprehensive
- 5:39Speaker 2: timeline continues until Sunday morning, seventh interrogation of Oswalt, that's
- 5:46Speaker 2: seventh at nine thirty am, and then concludes his timeline
- 5:50Speaker 2: when Lee was shot and killed by of course by
- 5:52Speaker 2: Jack Ruby. So if you want to know when Oswalt
- 5:54Speaker 2: was brought into the lineups, when Marinick came to visit him,
- 5:59Speaker 2: who interviewed Lee throughout his nine interrogations, details on the
- 6:04Speaker 2: midnight press conference when the high deel name started to
- 6:07Speaker 2: come up. Hint, it wasn't November twenty second, what time
- 6:11Speaker 2: the mugshot and fingerprints were taken and all the problems
- 6:15Speaker 2: with the pomp prints and time lead to the rifle
- 6:18Speaker 2: paraffin tests and all these issues. This is the book
- 6:22Speaker 2: for you. It is extremely well written in the format
- 6:25Speaker 2: of introducing the films, pictures, questions, and then the TSBD
- 6:29Speaker 2: employees then going chronologically throughout the whole weekend is brilliant
- 6:35Speaker 2: for me. And I want to give the readers or
- 6:39Speaker 2: the listeners. Let me work myself a little example of
- 6:50Speaker 2: how you can see his sourcing. So his sourcing is different, right,
- 6:56Speaker 2: it's of course this book has a lot to do
- 7:00Speaker 2: with videos and pictures. You can't put a video in
- 7:03Speaker 2: a book, of course. So when you go to prayerman
- 7:07Speaker 2: dot com slash miscellaneous, slash the book, this is what
- 7:12Speaker 2: you got. And all the footnotes are have links to them.
- 7:17Speaker 2: So say, if we want to go to the Awkins
- 7:19Speaker 2: six photograph number one zero three one, it brings it
- 7:24Speaker 2: right up. It's really groundbreaking in my opinion, and.
- 7:32Speaker 1: It's not just Joe. It's if you get the Kindle
- 7:35Speaker 1: version of the book, it does have the sourcing at
- 7:41Speaker 1: the instance it is written in the book, and you
- 7:43Speaker 1: can follow the link and it will open up the
- 7:48Speaker 1: relevant link on prayer man dot com from the Kindle edition.
- 7:53Speaker 1: You know, it's like a hot right, So that's very cool.
- 7:57Speaker 2: It's very cool. It's very cool. And I know Rob
- 8:00Speaker 2: recently did a show this past week on on Bill Shelley,
- 8:04Speaker 2: and I know we referenced pray a Man a lot
- 8:08Speaker 2: because it really is the most comprehensive book on the
- 8:13Speaker 2: ts who the figures who worked in the TSBD, the timeline,
- 8:18Speaker 2: it's it's really great. And the forward was by Malcolm Blunt,
- 8:27Speaker 2: which of course is is great. And uh, I love
- 8:31Speaker 2: how he starts the book, Rob, don't believe me, read on,
- 8:35Speaker 2: don't want to believe me? Close this book.
- 8:39Speaker 1: Bart does not miss his words, folks.
- 8:41Speaker 2: Yes, be open to what he is is writing about,
- 8:47Speaker 2: and he makes a fascinating, an extraordinary case. So with
- 8:52Speaker 2: that'll hand it to you Surf for your reading.
- 8:55Speaker 1: Yeah, you know a lot of people see this image
- 9:02Speaker 1: of prayer Man and instantly make a snap judgment whether
- 9:07Speaker 1: or not, Okay, do you think it's Oswald or could
- 9:12Speaker 1: it be somebody else? And that has been the argument
- 9:16Speaker 1: for all this time, and very few of those people
- 9:19Speaker 1: will take the time to actually read Bart's book that
- 9:24Speaker 1: is so fantastically sourced with documents, film photographs, eyewitness testimony.
- 9:37Speaker 1: It's just it's hard to argue with. And that's the
- 9:42Speaker 1: whole point of creating a theory or premise that you
- 9:49Speaker 1: believe in. You want to be able to support it
- 9:52Speaker 1: so well that it's very hard to argue with that. Now,
- 9:56Speaker 1: even Bart will be the first one to tell you
- 10:01Speaker 1: the identification of Oswald as prayer Man is definitely not definitive. Okay,
- 10:07Speaker 1: it's not, and it's not for lack of trying to
- 10:10Speaker 1: make it definitive. As Joe alluded to, you know, if
- 10:17Speaker 1: we could get our hands on these original films from NBC,
- 10:22Speaker 1: the Darnell and the Wigman film, that from the original source,
- 10:28Speaker 1: we might be able to glean a better version of
- 10:33Speaker 1: these films and actually come to a definitive answer. But
- 10:39Speaker 1: as it is right now, the only copies that they
- 10:43Speaker 1: have ever released have been like VHS quality which is
- 10:47Speaker 1: pretty dog crap, And I think the best one they
- 10:52Speaker 1: got is from the Blu Ray version of the JFK movie,
- 10:56Speaker 1: from which Oliver Stone was able to get some footage
- 10:58Speaker 1: and then of course insferred to Blu Ray to make
- 11:01Speaker 1: it a little better quality. But even then, you're we're
- 11:06Speaker 1: talking thirty forty year old technology here. This could possibly
- 11:11Speaker 1: be tidied up with today's technology and the help of AI. Yeah.
- 11:24Speaker 1: I may be a little biased because I consider Bart
- 11:28Speaker 1: a friend. I've known Bart for years, He's been a
- 11:32Speaker 1: frequent guest on this show. But I'm going to try
- 11:34Speaker 1: to push that aside and be objective for this book
- 11:38Speaker 1: and him as an author. I thought it was well written,
- 11:42Speaker 1: well sourced, as you can see just go to prayer
- 11:44Speaker 1: Dashman dot com and check out everything there. I mean,
- 11:50Speaker 1: the fact that they buried Oswald's alibi for thirty some
- 11:57Speaker 1: years should tell you something, and not just his first
- 12:02Speaker 1: time as an alibi in the Fritz notes, but the
- 12:06Speaker 1: second one in the book out notes, where he very
- 12:09Speaker 1: clearly stated that he was that he went to the
- 12:13Speaker 1: second floor to get a coat, he went to the
- 12:15Speaker 1: back to the first floor to eat his lunch, and
- 12:17Speaker 1: then he went out front with Bill Shelley to watch
- 12:20Speaker 1: the presidential parade, And how.
- 12:21Speaker 2: Would he even know that Bill Shelley was out on
- 12:23Speaker 2: the front steps.
- 12:27Speaker 1: Yeah, there's a lot here to unpack, you know. Could
- 12:30Speaker 1: it be that, you know, Oswald simply slipped out the
- 12:33Speaker 1: doors behind everybody else, up on the very top of
- 12:36Speaker 1: the steps and nobody noticed him. Anything is possible, And
- 12:42Speaker 1: the position of this person only increases the possibility of
- 12:47Speaker 1: it being a worker in the school of Depository. And
- 12:49Speaker 1: Bartner does a great job of eliminating the people that
- 12:53Speaker 1: it could be based on where they said they were,
- 12:56Speaker 1: you know, at the time of various photos, at the
- 12:58Speaker 1: time of the shots, after the shots. So again, I
- 13:06Speaker 1: really enjoyed this book. I waited a long time for it.
- 13:09Speaker 1: Bart worked very hard on this book for years, and
- 13:14Speaker 1: I couldn't be happier for him for the product that
- 13:17Speaker 1: he turned out. And for that reason alone, Joe, I'm
- 13:24Speaker 1: going to give this book a solid eight out of
- 13:30Speaker 1: ten guns up, and it'll be a ten if we
- 13:38Speaker 1: can ever definitively prove that prayer Man was Lee Harvey Oswald,
- 13:44Speaker 1: And if it comes through of the efforts of bart Camp,
- 13:47Speaker 1: then all the better. And I will We'll go back
- 13:52Speaker 1: and redo this JFK book review and I will up
- 13:55Speaker 1: it to a solid ten out of ten. But the
- 13:58Speaker 1: value of this book, as far as information contained therein
- 14:02Speaker 1: definitely worth the money. I encourage you to get it,
- 14:06Speaker 1: have it, and use it as a resource.
- 14:08Speaker 2: Joseph and I think the fact that we both have
- 14:11Speaker 2: it physically speaks to what we think about Bart, because
- 14:16Speaker 2: I don't order everyone's book, and it's so comprehensive. It's
- 14:21Speaker 2: such a resource. I mean, how many times did we
- 14:25Speaker 2: refer to it on our recent Bill Shelley show, on
- 14:30Speaker 2: his on his website, you know when I was looking
- 14:32Speaker 2: for Love Ladies Weapons Charges. You know, the documents are
- 14:39Speaker 2: on Bart's site. It's it's so thorough and meticulously researched,
- 14:45Speaker 2: and I think it is if you want to know
- 14:48Speaker 2: anything about you know, he goes on people in the
- 14:50Speaker 2: third floor floor, people published, the publishers on the fourth
- 14:54Speaker 2: floor and kind of rules them out and it shows
- 14:59Speaker 2: where they were. I think, whoever the perim figure is,
- 15:04Speaker 2: I mean, I'm not one hundred percent sold on peryer Man,
- 15:07Speaker 2: as I think it's hard to be with the evidence,
- 15:10Speaker 2: but this book lays out such a great case for it.
- 15:15Speaker 2: I'm going to give it I think tied for my
- 15:18Speaker 2: highest score, nine guns up.
- 15:25Speaker 1: Awesome. Thank you, Joe. So if you enjoyed the JFK
- 15:29Speaker 1: book review, then you would definitely like to show that
- 15:32Speaker 1: we do all about the JFK assassination and different aspects
- 15:35Speaker 1: of it. We do it live here on YouTube every
- 15:38Speaker 1: Friday night at seven pm Eastern and every Wednesday night
- 15:42Speaker 1: at seven pm Eastern, exclusively for our channel members, So
- 15:48Speaker 1: make sure to check that out and we'll see you
- 15:51Speaker 1: next time, folks. In the meantime, check out some of
- 15:54Speaker 1: our other book reviews. We tried this last time and
- 15:56Speaker 1: it didn't work, and I don't know why. We're gonna
- 15:58Speaker 1: try it again this week and see if I can
- 16:01Speaker 1: get it to work. Until the next book review, folks,
