- 0:02Speaker 1: Welcome back to Artists on Artists on Artists on Artists. Boo,
- 0:06Speaker 1: did you scare you? Well? This episode is sure too.
- 0:11Speaker 2: Theme parks are known this time of year to always
- 0:14Speaker 2: have a little scary something up their sleeve. And who's
- 0:17Speaker 2: behind that actors? Actors are hired every year around this
- 0:21Speaker 2: time to scare their participants.
- 0:25Speaker 3: But what makes scare acting different than regular acting. We
- 0:30Speaker 3: talked to them to get to the bottom of it.
- 0:33Speaker 4: So get a group staying together, don't touch them and
- 0:37Speaker 4: listen in.
- 0:39Speaker 2: That's funny, they said, don't touch them in the intro.
- 0:43Speaker 3: Well, that is one of the rules.
- 0:44Speaker 2: Yeah, no, it's just so funny that they brought it up.
- 0:47Speaker 2: I feel like every day it's what I'm hearing. Don't
- 0:48Speaker 2: touch them, don't touch them, you know what I mean?
- 0:50Speaker 2: And we go on this interview, we still here, don't
- 0:52Speaker 2: touch you.
- 0:52Speaker 4: I don't want I don't want them touch me though,
- 0:54Speaker 4: Like that's like that is not okay, like where they're working,
- 0:57Speaker 4: Like if I came into an accountant's office and I
- 1:00Speaker 4: was freaking touching all their shit while they were doing stuff,
- 1:02Speaker 4: like that's hard to do your job.
- 1:04Speaker 5: You can't do that kind of stuff.
- 1:06Speaker 3: I mean, we followed such a chain of command here
- 1:08Speaker 3: at not Scary Farm that we you know, it's like
- 1:13Speaker 3: you have to lay out the safety rules that are
- 1:16Speaker 3: laid out before you. You know, you cannot go dismissing
- 1:18Speaker 3: them or else what would we be We'd be an
- 1:20Speaker 3: actual haunted house.
- 1:22Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, that would be. I mean, if people don't
- 1:24Speaker 1: know that they're safe, then how can they get scared?
- 1:27Speaker 1: You know, it's the epitome of being scared is knowing
- 1:31Speaker 1: that you're safe. Allowing yourself to get scared is knowing
- 1:34Speaker 1: that you're safe.
- 1:34Speaker 4: Yeah, you know, absolutely, And like it's like very important
- 1:37Speaker 4: for us to like be sustainable, Like that is the
- 1:40Speaker 4: most important part of what we do is to continue
- 1:42Speaker 4: to be sustainable. So it's like very important that we
- 1:45Speaker 4: do that, and so that is why rules are sustainability. Absolutely, absolutely,
- 1:51Speaker 4: we should probably go around like it's it's nice. It's
- 1:54Speaker 4: nice to be talking to you guys without any freaking makeup, Honary.
- 1:56Speaker 1: It's crazy to see you guys like this. It's crazy,
- 2:00Speaker 1: Like the only time I see you guys like this
- 2:01Speaker 1: is in the locker room right before.
- 2:03Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 2:03Speaker 4: Absolutely, yeah, go ahead, what is up you guys? My
- 2:08Speaker 4: name is Danny Blevans. I am a scare actor at
- 2:13Speaker 4: Not Scary Farm. I have been in a bunch of mazes.
- 2:16Speaker 4: I was in the Kabooki Maze. I was in the
- 2:19Speaker 4: Funhouse Maize, I was in Returned to Doctor Evil's House,
- 2:23Speaker 4: and then I was also in Now I am have
- 2:28Speaker 4: been graduated to a slider, which is somebody who hangs
- 2:31Speaker 4: out in the scare zones and slides around on his
- 2:34Speaker 4: knees and has a bunch of like sparks at fly
- 2:37Speaker 4: and stuff because I have like middle knee guards and
- 2:40Speaker 4: I jump up by people and I scare them and stuff.
- 2:44Speaker 2: Freaking athlete over there.
- 2:45Speaker 4: I mean no, like, I definitely work hard on my
- 2:48Speaker 4: body and I need to use it. Like nothing about
- 2:52Speaker 4: me is for a show. It's all for use, you
- 2:56Speaker 4: know what I mean? Like I am buff and I
- 2:58Speaker 4: am like very tight, but it is because it is
- 3:01Speaker 4: important for me for my job.
- 3:03Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 3:04Speaker 3: Yeah, I am Alissa Ronald and I am a Not
- 3:12Speaker 3: Very Farm Halloween scare actor. I have been auditioning for
- 3:16Speaker 3: three years and this is the year that I got it,
- 3:21Speaker 3: and I am very excited, very happy and ecstatic to
- 3:25Speaker 3: be working with each of you each and every day.
- 3:27Speaker 3: I am in the Fright House House. I am one
- 3:31Speaker 3: of the frights Good House.
- 3:33Speaker 4: That is so great that for my first assignment, if
- 3:36Speaker 4: I were to be able to be in the Fright
- 3:37Speaker 4: House for my first assignment, that'll be like a dream.
- 3:40Speaker 1: Truly truly freshman year. So lucky, so lucky.
- 3:44Speaker 3: I understand there, because there are many, uh mazes, many
- 3:48Speaker 3: themes in this place. You could be you could be
- 3:50Speaker 3: stuck anywhere at Not Scary Farm, and so it is
- 3:54Speaker 3: a true privilege and a true honor to be in
- 3:56Speaker 3: the maze. Inspired by Hulu's new series Freight House.
- 4:01Speaker 1: Hey, I'm Benjamin Goder, and I am a scare actor
- 4:03Speaker 1: at Not Scary Farm. I play Charlie Brown with a Knife,
- 4:09Speaker 1: and I'm really it's been four years playing Charlie Brown
- 4:11Speaker 1: with a knife, and I'm really really hoping maybe this
- 4:15Speaker 1: year or next year I'll get bumped up to something else.
- 4:17Speaker 1: But right now, just Charlie Brown with a knife and
- 4:19Speaker 1: every once in a while Snoopy and a couple of
- 4:22Speaker 1: the other Peanuts with a knife.
- 4:23Speaker 3: According to Park History, the last Charlie Brown with a
- 4:27Speaker 3: Knife did it for fifteen years.
- 4:29Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, guy named Trey Arnold Briggin hero dude, you
- 4:35Speaker 1: so tough. Let's just say it's big shoes to fill,
- 4:39Speaker 1: both metaphorically and physically. The guy was like twelve twelve
- 4:44Speaker 1: sized shoes and so I'm flopping around those things.
- 4:46Speaker 2: You know.
- 4:47Speaker 4: I would have been curious about this because I know
- 4:49Speaker 4: everyone knows that you're kind of looking to graduate out
- 4:51Speaker 4: of Charlie Brown with a knife. My question is do
- 4:54Speaker 4: you want to graduate into another type of character or
- 4:59Speaker 4: do you want to graduate to Charlie Brown with a
- 5:00Speaker 4: different type of weapon?
- 5:02Speaker 1: See, this is interesting. I think both would be awesome.
- 5:04Speaker 1: Like either Charlie Brown with a chainsaw would be fun,
- 5:07Speaker 1: you know, or yeah, like a giant scarecrow thing or
- 5:12Speaker 1: you know, moving into one of the real houses to
- 5:14Speaker 1: play something that people really really fear, because right now,
- 5:17Speaker 1: Charlie Brown with a knife is more confusing for people
- 5:21Speaker 1: and not as scary. It's tough to follow. You know.
- 5:25Speaker 1: Some of the scare actors they're like, oh this, you know,
- 5:29Speaker 1: the disfigured bloody thing chainsaw, and then there's Charlie Brown
- 5:33Speaker 1: with a knife, and they're kind of just not scared
- 5:35Speaker 1: as much as you know, they think it's cute and funny.
- 5:37Speaker 2: So yeah, hey, guys, I'm Paul Unkins. This time of year,
- 5:43Speaker 2: they call me Paul Pumpkins. Been around for ten plus
- 5:52Speaker 2: years here at Knots once a year. I usually live
- 5:56Speaker 2: in Texas and I come down every year for the
- 5:59Speaker 2: month of October and I stay with my mother. I
- 6:03Speaker 2: know a fourty year old man's name with his mother.
- 6:05Speaker 2: But at the UH, at the park, I've played the
- 6:08Speaker 2: same role every single year. I play Ah. I ride
- 6:11Speaker 2: my bike around and I'm a pig on a bike.
- 6:15Speaker 2: I'm a really big hog riding that bike.
- 6:20Speaker 3: It is the scariest thing in the world.
- 6:22Speaker 1: Literally, it is frightening.
- 6:23Speaker 3: I know you scared, acter you better listen up because
- 6:27Speaker 3: thank you so much. Key Onkins is the most terrifying
- 6:31Speaker 3: figure and well revered person at this park.
- 6:34Speaker 4: When I know Pumpkins is in there, like even if
- 6:36Speaker 4: I know it's Pumpkins, when pig on a white comes by,
- 6:38Speaker 4: I literally lose my mind, like I like.
- 6:43Speaker 1: It honestly freaks me out, like and the coolest thing
- 6:45Speaker 1: about Pumpkins And I don't know if you mind me
- 6:47Speaker 1: sharing this is go for You actually pitched this.
- 6:50Speaker 2: Idea, yeah, a long time ago. This was UH way
- 6:54Speaker 2: back then when there wasn't any ip to build off
- 6:56Speaker 2: of and they said, you guys got anything?
- 6:59Speaker 1: Yeah, well way, there is mostly just the Charlie Brown,
- 7:02Speaker 1: the Peanuts figures.
- 7:03Speaker 2: Yeah, abs, And I said, what if I get on
- 7:05Speaker 2: a fucking bike and I'm a pig and I like these.
- 7:09Speaker 1: Mothers, JE don't even punkins please. Yeah, it's just even
- 7:12Speaker 1: thinking about it, it's it's gross. It's terrifying, horrifying.
- 7:15Speaker 2: And the pig every year gets bigger and heavier this year.
- 7:18Speaker 2: This year, it's a whopping seventy five pounds I'm putting
- 7:21Speaker 2: on top of me and I'm biking.
- 7:23Speaker 5: U and it's it is a it is a speed bike.
- 7:27Speaker 4: It is a bike meant for tour de friends kind
- 7:31Speaker 4: of stuff.
- 7:31Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 7:31Speaker 2: Yeah, uh we did that this year because I felt
- 7:34Speaker 2: like every year I do a little different spin on
- 7:37Speaker 2: the pig. Well, this year it's it's speed.
- 7:39Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 7:39Speaker 1: I love that because it has been like smaller bikes
- 7:42Speaker 1: that you can kind of like slowly go by. It
- 7:44Speaker 1: is sometimes motorized, but they're not going faster than five
- 7:46Speaker 1: miles an hour. Now you're hitting thirty to forty miles
- 7:49Speaker 1: an hour.
- 7:50Speaker 3: Yeah, but I love that. So there is sort of
- 7:52Speaker 3: a free lase fair approach to your character, specifically every
- 7:58Speaker 3: other scaracter at the park. It's pretty regulated. We're only
- 8:01Speaker 3: allowed to do a couple of things, say a few phrases,
- 8:04Speaker 3: repeat a few emotions. But you've been given carte blanche
- 8:07Speaker 3: to do whatever you want. And that comes with years of.
- 8:11Speaker 5: Sorry car blanche, absolutely no, for sure.
- 8:15Speaker 2: And yeah, this year I'm going really fast, really fast. Yeah,
- 8:23Speaker 2: so's the heaviest costume yet though too right?
- 8:26Speaker 4: Yeah, so how did you because you know my body
- 8:28Speaker 4: is important to me as a tool, how did you
- 8:30Speaker 4: prep your body to be not only carrying the heaviest
- 8:34Speaker 4: pig costume you have one in your life, but to
- 8:36Speaker 4: go the fastest you have it's crazy.
- 8:40Speaker 2: Well, all the months out of the year except uh, September, October, November.
- 8:45Speaker 2: I am again in Houston. I'm the general manager of
- 8:49Speaker 2: Home Goods. And when I come here, when I'm in
- 8:54Speaker 2: Houston and i'm prepping, i am I'm conditioning. I'm that
- 9:00Speaker 2: soul cycle every morning.
- 9:03Speaker 1: It shows this year, the way I cannot believe how
- 9:08Speaker 1: fast you go from Mana Zuma's Revenge to ghost to
- 9:11Speaker 1: the ghost ride? What was that right? Called?
- 9:14Speaker 5: Which one?
- 9:16Speaker 1: Ghost? Ghost Rider? The ghost?
- 9:22Speaker 2: They got me this year, the past five years what's
- 9:25Speaker 2: really awesome is I have an inn ear and they'll
- 9:28Speaker 2: tell me where they need me and I'll go in
- 9:30Speaker 2: a flash.
- 9:32Speaker 1: And that's the thing is you won't slow down when
- 9:34Speaker 1: you go there, You'll just race. That's I've heard people going,
- 9:38Speaker 1: it was that a pig.
- 9:42Speaker 3: And that's so interesting. It doesn't always elicit fear. It
- 9:45Speaker 3: elicits a moment of huh, well.
- 9:48Speaker 1: That's what the confusion is.
- 9:50Speaker 5: Confusion.
- 9:51Speaker 2: That's the theme this year with speed. We're noticing that
- 9:54Speaker 2: the the reaction is confusion. Last year was discomfort because
- 9:59Speaker 2: the the with mine last year was sound. The hog
- 10:02Speaker 2: snort was so discomforted, and.
- 10:05Speaker 5: That all those baseball cards in the spokes.
- 10:09Speaker 1: Verys And that's the thing I love that, you know,
- 10:11Speaker 1: not scary Farm has its own theme. And then Pig
- 10:14Speaker 1: on a Bike has a very specific thing that's only
- 10:16Speaker 1: known to you that you won't reveal until halfway through.
- 10:19Speaker 4: I'm dying to know this too, because you said, when
- 10:21Speaker 4: you hear that you're needed, how do you know you're
- 10:23Speaker 4: needed somewhere as a pig on my bike?
- 10:26Speaker 1: So what what they need you for?
- 10:29Speaker 2: So? Yeah, if an area of the park is really
- 10:31Speaker 2: crowded and there's like a little bit of a bottleneck situation,
- 10:35Speaker 2: they'll send pig on a bike.
- 10:37Speaker 1: So mostly to clear out the crowds a little bit.
- 10:39Speaker 2: Yeah, or just like if there's any dead zones, they'll
- 10:42Speaker 2: send a pig on a bike.
- 10:44Speaker 1: So you're going to the most crowded areas and then
- 10:46Speaker 1: the least crowded area.
- 10:47Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm just right. Well, I mean with this at
- 10:49Speaker 2: this year, I'm going so fast bottoms this year, I'm
- 10:52Speaker 2: going so fast. I'm at both in a second.
- 10:53Speaker 1: Yeah, you know what I mean.
- 10:54Speaker 2: And that makes me want to like talk about our
- 10:57Speaker 2: tech and our incredible security team.
- 11:00Speaker 5: Like security is so important, it's so important.
- 11:03Speaker 2: And this year we have the great Barbara running security.
- 11:07Speaker 2: She's head of security this year.
- 11:08Speaker 5: Last year she was our magician and now the Barbara.
- 11:12Speaker 1: Is she's killing it because security it not scary. Farm
- 11:15Speaker 1: is difficult. If you guys don't know this, there's actually
- 11:18Speaker 1: a lot of you know, gang kind of stuff and
- 11:21Speaker 1: rough housing and a.
- 11:22Speaker 2: Lot of teenagers up to no good of teenagers is so.
- 11:25Speaker 3: Much rough housing it's become an epidemic, an epidemic of
- 11:29Speaker 3: rough housing.
- 11:30Speaker 4: They legitimately at not Barry Farm have implemented that you
- 11:34Speaker 4: cannot come if you are under fourteen without a parental
- 11:38Speaker 4: guardian because of all the fighting and so now there's
- 11:40Speaker 4: all these fourteen year.
- 11:41Speaker 5: Olds with these fake ideas, which is like even crazier. Yeah,
- 11:44Speaker 5: where it's like sometimes I.
- 11:45Speaker 4: Have to card, Like when when when don card? Yeah,
- 11:49Speaker 4: sometimes when Donnie like gets sick, because you know, Donnie
- 11:51Speaker 4: eats the craziest shit and he gets sick all the time.
- 11:53Speaker 1: Yeah, that's what he does. It not scary farm he
- 11:56Speaker 1: stays in the middle of the scare guns and eats
- 11:58Speaker 1: the craziest shit.
- 11:58Speaker 4: Yeah, so sometimes when Also he also cards teenagers, so
- 12:02Speaker 4: I have to I have to fill in for him sometimes.
- 12:05Speaker 4: And some of these fakes that these fourteen year olds
- 12:06Speaker 4: are coming up with, well some of the they're twelve,
- 12:08Speaker 4: they're eleven, they're ten, they're eight.
- 12:10Speaker 5: I saw an eight year old come in and.
- 12:13Speaker 2: That's insane, man, I mean even some of the sixteen
- 12:15Speaker 2: year olds, like that one year, I got pushed off
- 12:17Speaker 2: my bike by those teenagers.
- 12:19Speaker 5: Yeah, that was awful. Let's talk about that, dude. Like
- 12:21Speaker 5: it actually is really scary as a scaracter.
- 12:23Speaker 4: To be in this position because one of the things
- 12:28Speaker 4: that you're dealing with is a fight or flight response
- 12:30Speaker 4: from yes, right, So sometimes.
- 12:32Speaker 2: We do get hurt.
- 12:33Speaker 4: There are security that are watching the screens every second
- 12:36Speaker 4: of every day to make sure that if people hurt us,
- 12:39Speaker 4: they are brought to justice.
- 12:40Speaker 6: But exactly, like I've always said, knots punch's punch involuntary
- 12:44Speaker 6: backwards punch to the head. Yeah, And I've always said,
- 12:47Speaker 6: like you guys think you are the vulnerable ones, we are, Yeah.
- 12:51Speaker 1: Right, exactly. I had this guy come up and say,
- 12:55Speaker 1: you know, f you, F you, f you Charlie Brown
- 12:58Speaker 1: with a knife and then just sock me the face.
- 13:01Speaker 1: And that one. I kind of wrote it off mentally
- 13:04Speaker 1: as he was very scared of me, But in retrospect,
- 13:07Speaker 1: maybe he wasn't. Maybe he just had like this thing
- 13:10Speaker 1: he kept on mentioning his dad and his Peanuts thing.
- 13:13Speaker 1: It was. It was strange, So I think that was
- 13:17Speaker 1: a little bit different for me. That's mostly the punches
- 13:19Speaker 1: that come out of Charlie Brown. And he's not a
- 13:22Speaker 1: character that it.
- 13:23Speaker 3: Seems like he knows you. It seems like the way
- 13:26Speaker 3: that this man is.
- 13:27Speaker 1: Well, yeah, he did say f you, f you, Benjamin,
- 13:30Speaker 1: f you for what you did to my dad. I
- 13:32Speaker 1: have no idea what he's talking about absolutely no idea.
- 13:36Speaker 1: I was involved in a hit and run a couple
- 13:39Speaker 1: of years ago, but you have.
- 13:40Speaker 3: No idea, and you were involved in it.
- 13:42Speaker 2: What you have no clue what you were involved in?
- 13:45Speaker 5: Involved in one?
- 13:46Speaker 1: I was involved in one. I was hit, they ran,
- 13:50Speaker 1: but apparently somebody else died in the car. I don't know.
- 13:53Speaker 1: It was a mess, it was a logistic.
- 13:55Speaker 2: It seems like you put this together.
- 13:57Speaker 1: It seems like you know, no, no, no, no. I
- 13:59Speaker 1: don't know what it was. I don't know what it was.
- 14:01Speaker 1: I think they were scared.
- 14:03Speaker 2: But anyway, security is top of the line.
- 14:06Speaker 1: Like the weirdest part about security is when you know
- 14:08Speaker 1: the fourteen year olds will bring their moms sometimes and
- 14:11Speaker 1: the mom's fight, and that is tough to watch.
- 14:14Speaker 3: When the mom's rough house, it is a darker day.
- 14:16Speaker 4: Well because sometimes the moms are twelve year olds dressed
- 14:20Speaker 4: as moms, and that is really difficult too.
- 14:24Speaker 3: It's difficult because these kids know how to operate the
- 14:26Speaker 3: TikTok filters that add beards and age to your face.
- 14:29Speaker 1: That's how they do it.
- 14:30Speaker 3: They make id's are more sophisticated now than ever.
- 14:33Speaker 1: And it's so it's so interesting because what they'll do
- 14:35Speaker 1: is they'll come up to you and they'll look like
- 14:37Speaker 1: a twelve year old yeah and go no, no, no,
- 14:38Speaker 1: look at me now. And they'll show you their phone
- 14:41Speaker 1: and they'll look through their phone and go, look, I'm
- 14:43Speaker 1: an old woman. Yeah. I get confused. I do get confused.
- 14:45Speaker 1: It is.
- 14:46Speaker 3: It is absolute torture in the in the months where
- 14:49Speaker 3: I am not at not scary farm. I am an
- 14:51Speaker 3: all pair for two very rowdy and angry children. You
- 14:56Speaker 3: know what, yes, Beverly Hills.
- 14:59Speaker 5: What's scarier? What's scarier?
- 15:01Speaker 2: What time of year is scariest for you?
- 15:06Speaker 3: If you would believe it is not scary farm filled
- 15:10Speaker 3: with monsters? These are two children. I just I'm all
- 15:14Speaker 3: an ass. They are not as frightening because they are
- 15:17Speaker 3: not a Frankenstein or a ghost.
- 15:19Speaker 5: Sure, and you guys find those things legitimately frightening.
- 15:21Speaker 1: Franken sign and ghost terrifies me. I'm a man wearing
- 15:25Speaker 1: a Charlie Brown costume with a knife. Those things terrifying.
- 15:28Speaker 2: I look like the scariest hog you've ever seen. And
- 15:32Speaker 2: if I see a man that looks kind of like Frankenstein,
- 15:35Speaker 2: I'm I'm ship in the bed.
- 15:37Speaker 3: It's terrifying.
- 15:38Speaker 2: He's green. He's green.
- 15:47Speaker 5: Totally.
- 15:48Speaker 4: I think one thing that really scares me, like speaking
- 15:52Speaker 4: of security, Like one time, you know, because I'm a slider,
- 15:56Speaker 4: a bunch of teenagers brought a bunch of tacks and
- 15:58Speaker 4: threw them on the ground and.
- 15:59Speaker 2: I, that's just not cool.
- 16:01Speaker 4: Yeah, it was bad. It was like falling into a cactus.
- 16:04Speaker 4: Like I got up and there are all these tacks on
- 16:05Speaker 4: my body and I was like, that's actually.
- 16:07Speaker 5: Not very funny.
- 16:08Speaker 4: Yeah, we were laughing, and then I went viral and
- 16:10Speaker 4: I actually I got a text from someone and they're like,
- 16:14Speaker 4: you just want America's Funniest Home Videos. And it was like, whoa,
- 16:17Speaker 4: but it wasn't me, Like it was me, but it
- 16:19Speaker 4: wasn't my video.
- 16:20Speaker 5: So I didn't get I didn't get any money.
- 16:22Speaker 1: And they they you won that because because you were
- 16:25Speaker 1: sliding over tax. That's what they said, shows it's the
- 16:27Speaker 1: funniest video.
- 16:28Speaker 4: Called Scarer Sliding on Tax one America's funny its Home Videos.
- 16:33Speaker 3: It was a shame that they showed the guys who
- 16:34Speaker 3: set the tax in the studio audience.
- 16:37Speaker 1: And they were so happy.
- 16:39Speaker 2: I forgot you could win America's Funniest Home video.
- 16:42Speaker 3: There is a prize that there are three prices, three prizes.
- 16:45Speaker 1: Yeah, and then one person.
- 16:46Speaker 4: W it is the funniest, it is empirical, it is
- 16:49Speaker 4: that is.
- 16:50Speaker 5: The point America.
- 16:52Speaker 1: Yes, since the beginning of that show, since it was
- 16:55Speaker 1: Tom bergeron and before that Bob Bob Saggat, there was
- 16:59Speaker 1: always a winner.
- 17:00Speaker 3: I love Tom.
- 17:01Speaker 1: He is America's dad.
- 17:05Speaker 3: He is where keeps me going as an actor in
- 17:08Speaker 3: the off months, I go, Can I perform? Can I
- 17:11Speaker 3: perform at scar Zone this year? Can I do it?
- 17:14Speaker 5: It was crazy.
- 17:15Speaker 4: He came actually to not Scary Farm and he did
- 17:19Speaker 4: a special press event because we have a lot of
- 17:20Speaker 4: celebrity press events, which is very fun and very exciting.
- 17:23Speaker 2: Also, why I haven't in here Yeah, yeah, because if
- 17:26Speaker 2: the Kardashians are there, they say, go go go.
- 17:28Speaker 5: We need to pick on a bike to go Scarecrow. Yeah,
- 17:31Speaker 5: sorry to keep So I was there, Tom was there.
- 17:34Speaker 4: I was actually working in the I was working in
- 17:38Speaker 4: the Dark Ride Carnival of Hell Ride, and I was
- 17:43Speaker 4: a clown and Tom Broodog came in and he was
- 17:46Speaker 4: making small talk with every single Scaracter. He was asking
- 17:48Speaker 4: what they do, is asking where they're from, and then
- 17:50Speaker 4: he was asking what we were doing after this, and
- 17:52Speaker 4: we were like, Tom, I.
- 17:53Speaker 5: Think you need to go home.
- 17:54Speaker 4: Like like, I like that you're interested and nice, but
- 17:56Speaker 4: also Tom, like we are busy and we are working.
- 18:00Speaker 2: That's a lot.
- 18:00Speaker 4: I would rather get the knots punch from him than
- 18:02Speaker 4: for a hint to slow down the line like that,
- 18:04Speaker 4: And I do.
- 18:05Speaker 3: Hear that it made everyone less scared because the monsters
- 18:09Speaker 3: were just having small talks through the house.
- 18:11Speaker 2: Do you guys ever get really starstruck? Like when we
- 18:15Speaker 2: had the cast of when we had the cast of No,
- 18:27Speaker 2: when we had the cast of Sex in the City,
- 18:29Speaker 2: what's the spinoff called? And just like that, we had
- 18:32Speaker 2: the cast and crew of Just and just like that
- 18:34Speaker 2: come this year and.
- 18:36Speaker 1: That was the one that got you.
- 18:37Speaker 2: That really got me.
- 18:39Speaker 3: Is fantastic.
- 18:42Speaker 5: They finally I see myself on Screed.
- 18:47Speaker 2: God. It's also it's so funny.
- 18:50Speaker 4: He has a comic like just as a state of comic.
- 18:52Speaker 4: I just feel like I never get to see state
- 18:54Speaker 4: of comics on Creed.
- 18:55Speaker 2: Yeah, you get some representation. It's so true.
- 18:58Speaker 3: There's a dearth of stand up how many content out there,
- 19:02Speaker 3: And I'm glad it's happening.
- 19:04Speaker 2: But anyway, it's all to say that we have a
- 19:07Speaker 2: lot of celebrities come in every night is different, truly.
- 19:12Speaker 1: I don't think you guys understand how many celebrities are
- 19:14Speaker 1: coming to Not Scary Farm. It is insane how many
- 19:18Speaker 1: celebrities will come through Not Scary.
- 19:20Speaker 2: Lebron James's babysitter absolutely, Yeah.
- 19:24Speaker 1: When Lebron James's babysitter came to Not Scary Farm, the
- 19:26Speaker 1: whole park shut down. It was like a private tour
- 19:30Speaker 1: for just the babysitter.
- 19:32Speaker 3: I remember in the Fright Zone House when Sewn Mendez's
- 19:36Speaker 3: entourage came through, we had to block off the freight
- 19:39Speaker 3: house for hours and hours because they just got so
- 19:42Speaker 3: excited going in the first time that they and Sean
- 19:45Speaker 3: wanted to go through, and they went through forty two times.
- 19:48Speaker 1: Yeah, I heard. They just made it a chilset every.
- 19:50Speaker 3: Time they screamed. And then they started smoking marijuana, which
- 19:55Speaker 3: normally I abhor, but I was told, you know, I
- 20:00Speaker 3: parted it. But then I was told that's Shawn Mendes.
- 20:03Speaker 3: He can do whatever he wants, and that made me
- 20:06Speaker 3: so upset.
- 20:07Speaker 5: It's crazy, man.
- 20:07Speaker 4: I mean, people don't talk about Halloween Law like Halloween
- 20:10Speaker 4: Law is very different than other types of law, and
- 20:13Speaker 4: Halloween Law of course, covers every scary event. So yes,
- 20:18Speaker 4: not Scary Farm, any other theme park, it's under Halloween law,
- 20:21Speaker 4: which one of the laws is if the guests are
- 20:24Speaker 4: smoking weed, then it is you can't do anything about it.
- 20:27Speaker 1: Yeah, your hands, Your hands are tied, Halloween tied.
- 20:30Speaker 4: Because remember this is law written by people who worship Halloween.
- 20:33Speaker 5: So there's some creepy people.
- 20:35Speaker 4: There's people that the committee that was involved in making
- 20:37Speaker 4: Halloween Law, a lot of weird fucking.
- 20:39Speaker 1: Guys, lots of problematic people on the committee.
- 20:42Speaker 2: Yeah, that were letting govern us.
- 20:44Speaker 5: It's crazy.
- 20:45Speaker 1: So I've got a question too. You know, I don't
- 20:48Speaker 1: get a lot of opportunity to like scare people, which
- 20:51Speaker 1: I'm always trying to do. I'm always trying to, you know,
- 20:53Speaker 1: like bring another approach to Charlie Brown with a knife,
- 20:56Speaker 1: poor thing. Yeah, it's fun, it's fun. It's really great.
- 20:59Speaker 3: I see the people poetry sessions sometimes.
- 21:01Speaker 1: Oh yeah, I try to write freaky poetry but in
- 21:03Speaker 1: the voice of Charlie Brown, and it sometimes translates really.
- 21:08Speaker 5: Really well, can you please do poem?
- 21:10Speaker 1: Yeah? Sure, So one of them is ho hum another day,
- 21:15Speaker 1: really really here we go again, Snoopy, Why do I
- 21:21Speaker 1: have this knife? I guess it's to kill people? Oh geez,
- 21:29Speaker 1: here we go again.
- 21:32Speaker 2: Gosh, that sucks.
- 21:34Speaker 3: That's your job, person, that you've never even accidentally rhymed something.
- 21:43Speaker 1: Well, I just always thought, you know, Charlie Brown wouldn't
- 21:44Speaker 1: be he would be more of like an you know,
- 21:46Speaker 1: like avant garde.
- 21:47Speaker 3: Right, So what does everyone else do during not the
- 21:52Speaker 3: months of scare?
- 21:55Speaker 1: I'm conditioning of scare of scars.
- 21:57Speaker 3: We know it Halloween season.
- 21:59Speaker 2: Yeah, I run the home goods and I'm conditioning. I'm
- 22:02Speaker 2: just prepping my prepping my legs for the pedals. As
- 22:04Speaker 2: I say.
- 22:06Speaker 4: I graduated high school last year and then I also
- 22:10Speaker 4: have been so now I go back to the high
- 22:13Speaker 4: school and I am a trainer for some of the
- 22:16Speaker 4: sports teams.
- 22:17Speaker 5: Like I help like the coach. Yeah no, just a trainer.
- 22:22Speaker 4: Like I come around and I like help them work
- 22:24Speaker 4: out and stuff, like to make sure that they're working
- 22:26Speaker 4: out right.
- 22:27Speaker 2: Like I didn't know high schools have trainers.
- 22:29Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, they have trainers like like for like little
- 22:32Speaker 4: things like my high school does.
- 22:33Speaker 5: My high school takes football very very seriously incredible.
- 22:37Speaker 4: Yeah, so that's why I do most of the time
- 22:39Speaker 4: and then and then I also work at nights during
- 22:43Speaker 4: normal Knots hours.
- 22:44Speaker 5: I'm a normy too, so yes, yeah. And the Boys
- 22:48Speaker 5: and Berry Festival, I'm boys and Berry King. Every year.
- 22:53Speaker 1: You get to wear the crown.
- 22:54Speaker 5: I wear the crown.
- 22:55Speaker 3: And then yeah, every night you get a special parking spot.
- 22:58Speaker 5: I get a special parking spot.
- 22:59Speaker 4: They put me right in the hotel, right next to
- 23:03Speaker 4: where Snoopy parks at the hotel.
- 23:05Speaker 1: This was awarded one year and then you get to
- 23:07Speaker 1: come back as it every year until.
- 23:09Speaker 4: A call sheet on the Not Scary Farm Barry Farms,
- 23:12Speaker 4: Boison Berry Fest call sheet it says Boysberry King coming.
- 23:16Speaker 4: I mean, that's what I am told and I get
- 23:19Speaker 4: I get paid, But it's it's.
- 23:21Speaker 2: Did you do the internship program? Is that how you
- 23:23Speaker 2: got I was?
- 23:24Speaker 5: I did not pery from college?
- 23:26Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 23:26Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, I.
- 23:29Speaker 1: Applied. I applied and I applied and I could not
- 23:31Speaker 1: get in.
- 23:31Speaker 5: No, it's so fun.
- 23:33Speaker 2: That's that's I was there when they invented that, when
- 23:36Speaker 2: mister Notts invented that.
- 23:37Speaker 5: It is so fun.
- 23:38Speaker 4: People kids from all over the country come for the
- 23:40Speaker 4: not Spear from college and it's only two months and
- 23:44Speaker 4: the degree for being a nottter and it's really fun
- 23:49Speaker 4: because it's just hanging out all the time in the park.
- 23:52Speaker 2: And don't you get coached for your audition for your
- 23:55Speaker 2: your scare aude?
- 23:57Speaker 4: Yeah, exclusive, let's talk about the scared audition. Let's talk
- 24:00Speaker 4: about all wait before that, So I do that?
- 24:03Speaker 2: What do you do?
- 24:04Speaker 4: What you do?
- 24:04Speaker 1: Yes?
- 24:04Speaker 3: I am an all pair to two children.
- 24:09Speaker 1: I am an actor. I am a big time actor.
- 24:13Speaker 1: You can see me do a lot of background work.
- 24:16Speaker 1: That's a lot of different shows. I was just in
- 24:19Speaker 1: the hit show The Entourage reboot as background, and I
- 24:24Speaker 1: was just in a Beautiful Story about the Civil War
- 24:31Speaker 1: as background and that was really fun. And I also
- 24:33Speaker 1: run a couple of blogs.
- 24:35Speaker 2: The movie is called A Beautiful Story about the Civil War.
- 24:38Speaker 1: Yeah, it's a beautiful story about the Civil War called
- 24:40Speaker 1: the Beautiful Story about the Civil War. Ava Duverne hates
- 24:44Speaker 1: it and that's what she said.
- 24:46Speaker 5: Okay, did you.
- 24:47Speaker 3: Get to scare anyone in it?
- 24:51Speaker 4: You know?
- 24:51Speaker 1: I was?
- 24:52Speaker 5: I was.
- 24:53Speaker 1: The thing was I was supposed to be cast as
- 24:55Speaker 1: a very intimidating member of the Confederate Army, but instead
- 25:00Speaker 1: they put me in one of a big costume. Is
- 25:02Speaker 1: the mascot of the Confederate Army.
- 25:05Speaker 5: You really attract a big costume.
- 25:06Speaker 1: I don't know what it is about me, but people
- 25:08Speaker 1: just don't want to see me in my face really
- 25:10Speaker 1: so poor thing. Yeah yeah, yeah, so that was It
- 25:14Speaker 1: was fun though. It was really fun. And other than that,
- 25:16Speaker 1: I ran a couple of blogs and forums.
- 25:19Speaker 5: Amazing, really fun.
- 25:22Speaker 2: Let's talk audition stories. I'm really excited.
- 25:24Speaker 1: Well, listen, I'm actually really interested what you did differently
- 25:27Speaker 1: this year to get.
- 25:28Speaker 2: Cast, because I'll say a lot of us have grandfathered
- 25:30Speaker 2: in because it was it was it's really hard to
- 25:33Speaker 2: get in now. I think they said it's similar to
- 25:35Speaker 2: a BFA acceptance program.
- 25:37Speaker 3: It is very cutthroat. It is very cutthroat. There is
- 25:41Speaker 3: four rounds of auditions. This is true, and it is
- 25:46Speaker 3: very competitive because many people want.
- 25:48Speaker 5: To do this job across the country, right like they do.
- 25:50Speaker 4: They do auditions in Saint Louis, New York, San Francisco,
- 25:53Speaker 4: San Francisco, yes, I think, Detroit, and then Branson.
- 25:59Speaker 2: And Goes Street. Ye.
- 26:01Speaker 3: I flew out for the brand, said one because I
- 26:04Speaker 3: couldn't get an l A date, so I I went
- 26:09Speaker 3: to Missouri and I walked in that first audition, I
- 26:12Speaker 3: was shaking in my boots, absolutely quaking and shaking. I
- 26:17Speaker 3: was so nervous.
- 26:19Speaker 5: And so many people behind that table too.
- 26:21Speaker 3: Yeah, there's so many people. It's a committee. It's a
- 26:24Speaker 3: huge and it's you know, it's all the elders of
- 26:26Speaker 3: the park have been there forever and they know what
- 26:29Speaker 3: they're talking about. I'm looking into.
- 26:31Speaker 2: The eyes and guys who have seen everything, they've seen
- 26:33Speaker 2: it all.
- 26:34Speaker 3: It's really it's really really uh intimidating. But they so
- 26:38Speaker 3: it was a it was me a hundred other people.
- 26:42Speaker 3: They told us to do our best scare face.
- 26:46Speaker 1: What was it?
- 26:47Speaker 3: Mine was, Okay, I'll see if I can do it
- 26:49Speaker 3: into the microphone.
- 26:51Speaker 1: Ah, that was really good. I think that translated.
- 26:56Speaker 2: You have so much grow kind.
- 26:58Speaker 3: Of what kind of face that was? And they told
- 27:03Speaker 3: seventy five of them to go wow, and so then
- 27:05Speaker 3: there was twenty five of us left. We did a
- 27:07Speaker 3: second round, which was adding a little bit of dialogue,
- 27:10Speaker 3: adding like a phrase. Mine was I want to suck
- 27:13Speaker 3: your blood.
- 27:14Speaker 1: Wow. Classic, but it tough way to pull off.
- 27:16Speaker 2: I'll say they give that to the people that they
- 27:18Speaker 2: want to see like depth in It's.
- 27:21Speaker 3: True because I and I will tell you what. I
- 27:24Speaker 3: was the only one who did the accent.
- 27:27Speaker 1: Wow, the only one, the only one. You know, It's
- 27:30Speaker 1: crazy because everybody else was just like, uh, I want
- 27:33Speaker 1: to suck your blood.
- 27:34Speaker 3: I've ever heard of it?
- 27:35Speaker 4: Well, because on on the the very famous scare actor's
- 27:38Speaker 4: website bat Stage. On bat Stage, they say that that
- 27:43Speaker 4: is actually one of the most overused uh scare actor.
- 27:47Speaker 2: Audition yeah, audition line, So to pull.
- 27:50Speaker 4: It off, like, but that's what they say, like if
- 27:52Speaker 4: it is a if it is a good performance, it
- 27:53Speaker 4: is a good performance. So it doesn't matter if it
- 27:55Speaker 4: is overused. It sounds like you did it correct.
- 27:57Speaker 3: It's true.
- 27:58Speaker 1: Can you do for us.
- 28:01Speaker 3: I want to suck your blah.
- 28:04Speaker 5: Chills I have?
- 28:05Speaker 2: That was good, really good, and it's really good. It's
- 28:08Speaker 2: really unique to who you are?
- 28:09Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, really unique.
- 28:13Speaker 2: Yes, but I think it's really unique to who so much.
- 28:18Speaker 1: Can I ask you something? Because after that, I.
- 28:20Speaker 3: Can't believe I am really happy to hear you guys
- 28:23Speaker 3: say that.
- 28:23Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean I know what you and I know
- 28:25Speaker 1: I mean like after that, I'm sure they cut a
- 28:27Speaker 1: couple more. Can I ask you something a little personal?
- 28:29Speaker 3: Of course?
- 28:30Speaker 1: What was your boot song?
- 28:33Speaker 2: Your sixteen bar cut of your boot song.
- 28:36Speaker 3: Was Cake by the Ocean.
- 28:42Speaker 1: That's good. That's a scary song.
- 28:44Speaker 3: And I'll give you a little sample.
- 28:49Speaker 2: Boo boo boo boo boo boo boo boo boo boot
- 28:53Speaker 2: That was all I did.
- 28:55Speaker 3: They stopped me and they said, you're going to.
- 28:58Speaker 1: Valencia's insane when you hear I love boo songs because
- 29:04Speaker 1: you take a sixteen bar of any song, which you
- 29:06Speaker 1: have to replace it with the word boo the whole song.
- 29:08Speaker 1: And I thought you killed it. Kicked by the Ocean
- 29:10Speaker 1: is so risky.
- 29:11Speaker 2: It's it's a risky move. And I'll say, when you
- 29:15Speaker 2: hear the V word, when you hear Valencia, it's it's
- 29:21Speaker 2: an out of body experience.
- 29:22Speaker 5: For those who don't know.
- 29:23Speaker 4: Valencia is where six Lungs Magic Mountain is, but it's
- 29:27Speaker 4: where our costume department is.
- 29:29Speaker 2: That means you're getting a fitt.
- 29:30Speaker 5: You're getting a fit.
- 29:31Speaker 1: You're going to head down down to Anaheim. Coast to coast.
- 29:40Speaker 2: Anaheim is where you pick up the shoes.
- 29:44Speaker 3: You make your costume stock, and then a shoe stop
- 29:47Speaker 3: and then sometimes people get cut on the way from
- 29:50Speaker 3: the costume stop to the shoe stop and.
- 29:52Speaker 5: It is my friends from yeah gossip there.
- 29:55Speaker 1: Yeah, if you're shitty, they'll let the let coasta anaheim
- 29:58Speaker 1: Man Coast.
- 30:00Speaker 2: The women that had been working in the Valencia costume
- 30:03Speaker 2: shop have seen it all.
- 30:04Speaker 1: I remember they call people that smell it on people.
- 30:07Speaker 2: Yeah, I remember. I was a young lad when I
- 30:10Speaker 2: first saw them come in.
- 30:12Speaker 1: So yeah.
- 30:12Speaker 3: So one of my audition group, there was one in Valencia.
- 30:15Speaker 3: This woman got really confident and she started being a
- 30:17Speaker 3: bitch on the phone. And so the costumers can be.
- 30:22Speaker 1: A bitch on the phone. Don't be a bit on
- 30:27Speaker 1: the phone.
- 30:28Speaker 2: Number one, don't be a bitch on the phone. Number two.
- 30:31Speaker 2: Treat others the way you want to feature.
- 30:33Speaker 3: Those are the two golden rules of Notts Very Farm.
- 30:37Speaker 3: They are enshrined in the break room and in the
- 30:40Speaker 3: bathrooms and in under our cafeteria trays. And it is
- 30:43Speaker 3: something that I remember. I stole one of the trays
- 30:45Speaker 3: to take home so that I would always remember to
- 30:46Speaker 3: do that. I always remember to never do that, never
- 30:49Speaker 3: be a bitch on the phone.
- 30:50Speaker 4: Those trays that say never be a bitch on the phone,
- 30:53Speaker 4: they wish one and they always hold up the trays
- 30:56Speaker 4: and point to.
- 30:56Speaker 1: It really hard. Yeah, yeah. I'm trying to remember my
- 31:03Speaker 1: audition and my experience now that we're talking about. I mean,
- 31:05Speaker 1: I had a great, great for I was cast first round.
- 31:08Speaker 1: I don't know why, but I got lucky.
- 31:11Speaker 2: You in the history at Disney, right, I.
- 31:12Speaker 1: Have a history at Disney. Yes, I was. I was
- 31:17Speaker 1: Yogi Bear before they cut that.
- 31:20Speaker 5: Oh yeah, because they were like, why are we doing
- 31:21Speaker 5: this over?
- 31:23Speaker 1: Yeah, huge oversight by that was crazy.
- 31:27Speaker 4: One just assumed that Yogi was Disney and then they
- 31:29Speaker 4: let it go and it was and I think it
- 31:32Speaker 4: was Walt himself.
- 31:33Speaker 5: So it lost in twenty.
- 31:35Speaker 3: Rods and rounds and rounds of imagineering sessions.
- 31:38Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah, and things are different back then.
- 31:40Speaker 5: While on his deathbed, I believe was like Yogi's ours.
- 31:43Speaker 2: Right, yeah, Well that was before nine to eleven.
- 31:46Speaker 1: Wait before wait, before almost nine eleven couldn't even be
- 31:51Speaker 1: considered as a factor.
- 31:53Speaker 5: I would say multiple generations before.
- 31:55Speaker 3: Yeah, people children were born and died and gave birth
- 31:58Speaker 3: again and died for.
- 32:02Speaker 1: So yeah. So my audition now, thinking back, I went
- 32:05Speaker 1: in guns a blazing, and I really tried to be scary.
- 32:07Speaker 1: I was trying to be intimidating and scary, and I
- 32:11Speaker 1: think I booked it, but not for the reasons I thought,
- 32:14Speaker 1: you know, because when I showed up at Valencia, they said, hey,
- 32:17Speaker 1: how big is your head? How big is your waist?
- 32:19Speaker 1: Working on you? And can you hold a knife for
- 32:22Speaker 1: seventeen hours? And I say, so, you.
- 32:24Speaker 3: Really just had the body dimensions to do the job, because.
- 32:27Speaker 2: I'll say, your smile is so bright.
- 32:29Speaker 1: Yeah, thank you, it is beautiful. Man. I think that's
- 32:32Speaker 1: my problem is I give off a kind of nebbish welcoming.
- 32:36Speaker 1: I could be pushed up.
- 32:37Speaker 2: You're very Disney. I hate to say it.
- 32:39Speaker 1: You are real. I'm trying to be scary, but thank you. Yeah,
- 32:43Speaker 1: I'm trying to be scary. And you know so I
- 32:46Speaker 1: really try to intimidate people, and that's what I tried
- 32:49Speaker 1: my audition, But as fate would have it, they they
- 32:51Speaker 1: really pushed me for Charlie Brown with a knife. Yeah.
- 32:53Speaker 2: Well, casting hasn't set you up for success. You're the
- 32:55Speaker 2: least scary part.
- 32:57Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, okay, So I.
- 32:59Speaker 5: Mean you guys, isn't your scared area technically the parking lot?
- 33:02Speaker 1: Yeah, it's I wait out to let people in, And.
- 33:05Speaker 2: Isn't it where they have people go if they're having
- 33:07Speaker 2: an anxiety attack.
- 33:09Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, and I have to kind of calm them
- 33:10Speaker 1: down every once in a while, so the knife kind
- 33:12Speaker 1: of comes just like as a nice pat.
- 33:13Speaker 2: Don't they do reiki over there?
- 33:15Speaker 1: Yeah? Yeah, well that's not connected to me. Snoopy does
- 33:18Speaker 1: reiki and I have to watch, so yeah, that's right.
- 33:21Speaker 5: And then Woodstock does ASMR.
- 33:23Speaker 1: Right, Yeah, there's a tent where Woodstock does ASMR. It's
- 33:29Speaker 1: kind of a beautiful thing. It's kind of like I
- 33:32Speaker 1: wish if in that regard, I wish I was closer
- 33:34Speaker 1: to what they're doing. You know, maybe Charlie Brown reads reads,
- 33:37Speaker 1: you know, futures, but no, it's just Charlie Brown with
- 33:40Speaker 1: a knife. So yeah, so yeah, but it's good. It's good.
- 33:43Speaker 3: It's a classic. It's a classic, and sometimes the classics
- 33:46Speaker 3: are what keep this going for as long as it has, you.
- 33:51Speaker 4: Know, can I ask you guys a question speaking of
- 33:54Speaker 4: keeping things going, like, what is your mental save for
- 34:01Speaker 4: the monotony of this? Sometimes especially I would love to
- 34:04Speaker 4: hear what's going on with you? Because I remember when
- 34:07Speaker 4: I was in the houses, you know, the houses you
- 34:10Speaker 4: have the lights.
- 34:11Speaker 2: And your freshman year, you hear.
- 34:12Speaker 4: The same sound every single second, you know, every twelve
- 34:17Speaker 4: seconds you press the button, the same sound goes, and
- 34:19Speaker 4: the person leaves and you do another thing. The light
- 34:21Speaker 4: flashes and the same what's your line you're saying or
- 34:23Speaker 4: your line you're hearing this this this year?
- 34:26Speaker 3: Well, my line that I'm hearing is actually said by
- 34:29Speaker 3: a bat, and the line is the fact.
- 34:33Speaker 1: And oh, because of that iconic bat in Fright House.
- 34:37Speaker 3: Yeah, in the bat in Fright House.
- 34:39Speaker 5: Played by g Carlo Esposito. Have you watched the show?
- 34:42Speaker 2: Incredible?
- 34:44Speaker 3: Watch it's really good. But you know, every time someone
- 34:49Speaker 3: walks by me, I am the tender of the bat.
- 34:53Speaker 3: I am the bat trainer, as they do have in
- 34:55Speaker 3: the show, played by Gel Looney. Oh no, Gabriel Iglacias
- 35:03Speaker 3: plays the bat trainer's brother.
- 35:04Speaker 2: Now who has the tequila company. Gabriela glacis George.
- 35:08Speaker 1: Yeah, Gabriela Glacias does not have a tequila.
- 35:12Speaker 3: It's hard to that's that's how you remember him. Yeah,
- 35:18Speaker 3: but yeah, So my job is to go is to kind.
- 35:22Speaker 1: Of oh, let's see it. Yeah, I would love it.
- 35:24Speaker 3: Well, I kind of go ah.
- 35:27Speaker 2: Ah, oh, I'll say that's that's giving. You talk about monotony,
- 35:33Speaker 2: I mean that that you have a wide range of dynamics.
- 35:37Speaker 6: Okay, someone walks by.
- 35:40Speaker 3: It's it's it's it's just plays in a circle in
- 35:42Speaker 3: my mind. I hear the footsteps approaching, I get into position,
- 35:46Speaker 3: they walk by. I gorah. Then the bat goes yeah fact,
- 35:50Speaker 3: and then I'm back into the closet.
- 35:52Speaker 5: You don't go freaking logo, dude, Like that's so hard
- 35:56Speaker 5: with you.
- 35:56Speaker 3: I think I am going freaking loco.
- 35:58Speaker 2: Whoa not freaking loco? I guess Okay, I'm sorry, but
- 36:02Speaker 2: I have to say it. That's nothing. Okay, you want
- 36:06Speaker 2: to know what monotony is. It's going faw faw. I
- 36:12Speaker 2: got nothing.
- 36:13Speaker 5: I'm sorry, Pumpkins. You are in motion though you're on
- 36:16Speaker 5: a speed by.
- 36:17Speaker 3: You're going so fast. You might argue your job is
- 36:20Speaker 3: a lot of things, but no.
- 36:22Speaker 5: It is stimulating to the core. Like that is the
- 36:25Speaker 5: key to it.
- 36:25Speaker 2: That's so funny, because when you're in motion for so long, you're.
- 36:28Speaker 1: Not not how that works. Not how that works.
- 36:32Speaker 2: People who fly, Pilots who fly, don't know when they're
- 36:36Speaker 2: flying versus when they're at home.
- 36:38Speaker 5: Who told you that?
- 36:39Speaker 2: A magazine, American Way.
- 36:42Speaker 5: The American Airlines magazine put that in the.
- 36:44Speaker 2: I get the prescription in my house. When you're rescription,
- 36:50Speaker 2: I have a prescription for forty milligrams for American Way.
- 36:53Speaker 4: So when you are sitting in the airline, in the airplane,
- 36:56Speaker 4: you read a news magazine that says pilots do not
- 36:59Speaker 4: know when they are flying.
- 37:00Speaker 2: And I said, I know something about that.
- 37:02Speaker 5: That will freaking out if I was in the flight.
- 37:04Speaker 1: Talk about a scares out.
- 37:06Speaker 3: I don't believe I'm playing American airlines anymore.
- 37:08Speaker 2: Okay, So I say, mind's monotonous. You say, yours is?
- 37:11Speaker 1: What about you mine?
- 37:13Speaker 4: Actually, I it is, you know, it's I've become comfortable
- 37:19Speaker 4: there in my zone. I'm in the Old West. I'm
- 37:21Speaker 4: on the Sliders, and me and my community of sliders
- 37:24Speaker 4: we have built it into our own little theme and
- 37:26Speaker 4: it is almost like.
- 37:28Speaker 1: The slider community is intense. It's like a biker gang.
- 37:31Speaker 2: I'll say, you guys, yeah, we have our.
- 37:33Speaker 5: Own language, and we have our own sling.
- 37:36Speaker 1: You guys have like thieves can't where you're doing things
- 37:38Speaker 1: with your knees.
- 37:38Speaker 2: And you're all straight.
- 37:39Speaker 4: We talk with our knees and we're all super straight.
- 37:42Speaker 4: We're all straight. All of us are straight. It's it is.
- 37:47Speaker 4: It was not part of the reason why we got
- 37:50Speaker 4: the job.
- 37:51Speaker 2: It's the weirdest thing.
- 37:52Speaker 4: It was the craziest thing. When we sat around and
- 37:54Speaker 4: we looked at were like, oh my god, are.
- 37:55Speaker 5: We all straight?
- 37:56Speaker 1: Is insane? That's insane.
- 37:58Speaker 4: I have the odds, the odds that a slider and
- 38:01Speaker 4: not very scary farm would be straight. Like we were
- 38:04Speaker 4: like wait, and we were like, wait, get Derek, Get Derek,
- 38:07Speaker 4: dere and Derek, are you straight?
- 38:08Speaker 5: Yes?
- 38:09Speaker 1: What?
- 38:09Speaker 5: And then we get serg.
- 38:11Speaker 3: You're all like, you're all just straight men that you
- 38:14Speaker 3: can look around the room and see thirty faces and
- 38:17Speaker 3: know that every single one of them is straight.
- 38:19Speaker 4: I was freaked out when it happened. I was like,
- 38:20Speaker 4: this is like a Twilight Zone moment. Like I was like,
- 38:22Speaker 4: oh my gosh, I'm binging myself. It's weird and.
- 38:25Speaker 1: That is crazy. I also love that they they have
- 38:27Speaker 1: thirty sliders every night in the scare zones. It's primarily sliders.
- 38:32Speaker 1: It's ninety percent slide.
- 38:33Speaker 2: Why don't you tell everybody about your warm up process
- 38:35Speaker 2: because the way you sliders are warming up physically before
- 38:38Speaker 2: the show is incredible.
- 38:39Speaker 5: Yeah, so right now it is.
- 38:41Speaker 4: We put on a song and you know, we all
- 38:45Speaker 4: of us write a song on a piece of paper
- 38:47Speaker 4: and we throw it in the hat and then we
- 38:49Speaker 4: pull out the song, and whoever's song it was stands
- 38:53Speaker 4: at the front and we have to do exactly what
- 38:55Speaker 4: they do, and.
- 38:57Speaker 5: We have to do it.
- 38:58Speaker 1: So you don't play the song.
- 39:00Speaker 5: You know, you don't play the song. It's just it's
- 39:03Speaker 5: just a song.
- 39:03Speaker 4: But we have to imagine the song in our head
- 39:05Speaker 4: because the idea of being a slider is you have
- 39:08Speaker 4: to have Uh. What people don't know is you're sliding
- 39:11Speaker 4: on a rhythm. So we're like, oh, for the night,
- 39:14Speaker 4: the song is living on a prayer. So if you
- 39:17Speaker 4: actually watched the Sliders when you're in a zone, it's
- 39:20Speaker 4: hard to see this because there's so much going on.
- 39:22Speaker 5: We're all sliding on a rhythm.
- 39:24Speaker 1: I remember it was the craziest thing. I think you
- 39:26Speaker 1: guys got in trouble that My Humps night where you
- 39:29Speaker 1: guys all slid to my Humps for seven hours.
- 39:32Speaker 4: Yeah, because if I could describe it, it was slide slide, slide, slide, slide, slide, slide,
- 39:35Speaker 4: side slide, slide, slide, slad slide slide slide, side slide
- 39:38Speaker 4: slide slide slide like.
- 39:39Speaker 5: That's kind of how it was happening.
- 39:40Speaker 3: Was that in your audition? Did you not do a
- 39:42Speaker 3: boo song?
- 39:43Speaker 1: No?
- 39:43Speaker 5: I did a boot song. My boot song was let's
- 39:44Speaker 5: give them something to talk about.
- 39:46Speaker 1: Oh please please please booin on it.
- 39:54Speaker 3: Boo woo boo boob Okay, it doesn't quite have the range, but.
- 40:02Speaker 1: He's so you're getting so much.
- 40:05Speaker 2: Mine was back in the day, this land is your land.
- 40:08Speaker 3: Boom boom boo boo boo boo boo boo boo boo
- 40:12Speaker 3: boo boo boo boo boo boo boo boo boo. I
- 40:17Speaker 3: will never know, dear, how much I love you. That
- 40:26Speaker 3: to be very did start.
- 40:32Speaker 1: Started that.
- 40:34Speaker 3: It started as the thing you said it was, you're
- 40:37Speaker 3: so old that brain. I've had that kind of stuff
- 40:42Speaker 3: flew during the audition round. Now you'd be spit on
- 40:47Speaker 3: and kicked out of the door. They would not last
- 40:50Speaker 3: day in the Branson Hilton lobby where we had them.
- 40:56Speaker 1: What was Charlie?
- 40:57Speaker 5: I mean, I get it, so I get it.
- 41:01Speaker 1: It's Benjamin, but you can call me Charlie. That's my character.
- 41:04Speaker 5: Sorry, I just totally saw the face when I looked.
- 41:06Speaker 1: At you know, people say that I kind of look
- 41:08Speaker 1: like Cam. I have the same kind of down energy.
- 41:10Speaker 5: I wonder if it's like a goldfish thing where your
- 41:12Speaker 5: head is beginning to fill.
- 41:13Speaker 1: The A doctor has said, that's kind of happening. My
- 41:18Speaker 1: head has grown weirdly a lot, and I've noticed a
- 41:22Speaker 1: lot of change.
- 41:22Speaker 2: Yeah, what changes do you guys see your body going?
- 41:24Speaker 1: All I have to do is like I just have
- 41:27Speaker 1: time to notice my body going through changes. I'm out
- 41:28Speaker 1: in the parking lot with my knife.
- 41:33Speaker 3: There's so much time to contemplate, well, what's going shop.
- 41:40Speaker 2: It's still crazy that guy in a hit and run
- 41:42Speaker 2: found you.
- 41:43Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah that was and it's not the first time
- 41:46Speaker 1: in the parking lot.
- 41:47Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 41:49Speaker 1: I still think I scared him. I still think I went,
- 41:51Speaker 1: I don't park your car there, you know, Oh that's
- 41:53Speaker 1: that's handicap parking. Don't park there. And then he just
- 41:55Speaker 1: punched me in the face. That's so yeah. But I
- 42:00Speaker 1: you know what I really hold on to in the
- 42:01Speaker 1: in the I don't want to call it monotony because
- 42:04Speaker 1: for me it's character development. But I said that the
- 42:08Speaker 1: idea that you know, next year they're gonna put me
- 42:10Speaker 1: in stilts to give me a chainsaw, or they're gonna
- 42:12Speaker 1: cover my face and blood and let me scream and
- 42:14Speaker 1: run around.
- 42:14Speaker 2: Are you prepping for stilts? Are you focusing?
- 42:16Speaker 1: I've done stilts now for four years. I dress. I'm
- 42:20Speaker 1: a big, big cos player, So I put on a
- 42:22Speaker 1: lot of these things, and I bring it to the exacts,
- 42:24Speaker 1: and I bring it to the elders, going look what
- 42:26Speaker 1: I can do, look what I can say, And they say,
- 42:29Speaker 1: you're just Charlie Brown with a knife. You just are
- 42:32Speaker 1: the essence of Charlie Brown.
- 42:33Speaker 2: Maybe because your head's growing.
- 42:35Speaker 1: Yeah, probably, Well I would think my head is growing
- 42:38Speaker 1: so much that would be kind of scary. You could
- 42:40Speaker 1: like turn that into another creature. But no, I'm losing
- 42:43Speaker 1: my hair too. I've just got one big whisper.
- 42:46Speaker 2: Now, let's talk about Halloween Night, the biggest night.
- 42:52Speaker 3: Hey, listen, sorry about your hair.
- 42:54Speaker 1: No, no, it's no, it just falls out during Halloween
- 42:57Speaker 1: seasoning gets back. But let's talk about Halloween Night, the
- 42:58Speaker 1: biggest night of the year.
- 43:00Speaker 3: No, wait, you are Santa You are the Santa Claus
- 43:02Speaker 3: with Tim Allen, But for you are Charlie Brown.
- 43:06Speaker 5: Arlie.
- 43:06Speaker 2: Yeah, it seems like this season.
- 43:09Speaker 1: It does, it really does.
- 43:10Speaker 3: So yeah, I just wanted to know.
- 43:12Speaker 2: I'm sorry I glanced over it. No, I I just
- 43:15Speaker 2: want you to.
- 43:16Speaker 3: Feel listened and too, and I hear that, and now
- 43:22Speaker 3: I I I'm sorry. I'm just so nervous. You all
- 43:27Speaker 3: are my heroes. What you're my heroes. I've been going
- 43:31Speaker 3: to the park every single day and studying you for
- 43:36Speaker 3: years through the audition process. If I don't get it,
- 43:39Speaker 3: I still go. I go every day so I can
- 43:41Speaker 3: train up for the next round.
- 43:44Speaker 2: Anyway.
- 43:45Speaker 1: That's so you notice who I am.
- 43:49Speaker 3: Yeah, I know who you are.
- 43:51Speaker 1: I know who you are. I know who you are.
- 43:57Speaker 2: And listen.
- 43:58Speaker 3: That's I'm sorry, I'm getting on something.
- 44:01Speaker 1: I just can I ask you what your favorite moment
- 44:04Speaker 1: was the last couple of years.
- 44:05Speaker 3: Well, my favorite moment was when it was actually you know,
- 44:12Speaker 3: it was when it was when there was a there
- 44:14Speaker 3: was this baby and it fell out of its stroller
- 44:18Speaker 3: and then you came by on your on your pig
- 44:22Speaker 3: bike and you a bike, pulled the baby up by
- 44:25Speaker 3: the arm, took it for a joy ride, threw it
- 44:29Speaker 3: like a lasso, and it landed right back in the stroller.
- 44:31Speaker 2: I thought it was a woman's purse because I do
- 44:35Speaker 2: that a lot. Uh, that was the year that we
- 44:38Speaker 2: did Yeah, I last said things a lot. That was
- 44:41Speaker 2: the year they put a cowboy hat on the They
- 44:45Speaker 2: put a cowboy hat on the pig.
- 44:47Speaker 1: Cowboy pig was a menace.
- 44:49Speaker 4: You came into the Atlantis made and you knocked over
- 44:51Speaker 4: all of our sets.
- 44:52Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 44:52Speaker 2: Oh no. And that year I remember I walked in
- 44:55Speaker 2: that year and they went all right, Paul, what do
- 44:57Speaker 2: you got? And I said, guys, I'm running out of
- 45:00Speaker 2: ways to make a pig on a bike different.
- 45:03Speaker 3: And they said what do you have?
- 45:05Speaker 1: And I said, why don't you just make him a cowboy.
- 45:07Speaker 1: I gotta say that was such a tough year for
- 45:09Speaker 1: me because I became your pig. You would just last
- 45:11Speaker 1: at me around the Yeah.
- 45:12Speaker 2: Well your head was big. I couldn't last so small things. Yeah,
- 45:17Speaker 2: And I mean it better than the year where they
- 45:19Speaker 2: made me sing.
- 45:20Speaker 4: Oh, I remember American Sea from from Pig to Bike.
- 45:26Speaker 1: They gave me a.
- 45:27Speaker 2: Britney spears mic and I just had to sing jingles
- 45:29Speaker 2: as I went by.
- 45:30Speaker 4: Well, and then remember the year that made you a
- 45:32Speaker 4: slider and they put all that sliding stuff on the
- 45:34Speaker 4: side of your bike and you.
- 45:35Speaker 5: Wanted a slider game for a little bit and that
- 45:37Speaker 5: was fun as hell.
- 45:38Speaker 2: Dude, Yeah, that was awesome, But I mean it was weird.
- 45:42Speaker 2: Why not just have the pig slide? Why does it
- 45:44Speaker 2: have to be a pig on a bike slide?
- 45:46Speaker 1: You know what I mean?
- 45:46Speaker 2: So it wasn't crazy.
- 45:47Speaker 1: The way you could slide on your side the bike
- 45:50Speaker 1: like a motorcycle racer.
- 45:51Speaker 5: It was nuts.
- 45:52Speaker 1: Yeah, let's talk about Halloween knight.
- 45:54Speaker 5: Let's talk about Halloween night.
- 45:56Speaker 1: You know what.
- 45:56Speaker 4: I I think what would be awesome for us is
- 45:59Speaker 4: to just like to wrap up, like, tell everyone if
- 46:02Speaker 4: they're coming Halloween night, what do you expect? What do
- 46:06Speaker 4: we want people to treat us like when they deal
- 46:09Speaker 4: with us and see us at the park?
- 46:13Speaker 3: Well, I would like to encourage and invite people to
- 46:18Speaker 3: come with an open hearted mind, come ready to respectfully
- 46:25Speaker 3: and with grace, proceed.
- 46:27Speaker 2: Through the park and grace. Grace.
- 46:31Speaker 3: Yes, we've lost so many of our visitors, they've lost grace.
- 46:35Speaker 2: We they need to bring grace back to Notts.
- 46:38Speaker 3: Look, my problem with the nons, very a lot of them.
- 46:42Speaker 3: They don't have respect the visitor. They don't respect the
- 46:46Speaker 3: craft anymore, specifically grace, specifically grace. No one has grace.
- 46:51Speaker 5: It has to become a graceless place. It is upsetting,
- 46:54Speaker 5: like it is hard.
- 46:55Speaker 4: I remember when I first became, you know, part of
- 46:58Speaker 4: the nots Ery Farm College program, took etiquette classes and
- 47:01Speaker 4: we had a cotillion when we were announced, and we
- 47:04Speaker 4: when we were introduced, we went onto the river rafting
- 47:07Speaker 4: ride and we had to wear our dresses and our outfits.
- 47:10Speaker 5: I was not wearing a dress. I was wearing any suit.
- 47:12Speaker 1: But I came out and oh, yeah, because you're straight,
- 47:14Speaker 1: because I'm straight.
- 47:16Speaker 4: Slighters are straight, Sliders are straight, and I don't think
- 47:20Speaker 4: it is I don't think I am straight because I
- 47:23Speaker 4: am a slider.
- 47:24Speaker 2: Yeah, which one do you think came first? The chicken
- 47:26Speaker 2: and the egg?
- 47:27Speaker 5: It's hard because I technically slid out of my mom.
