Speaker 1: We're live. Welcome to Jenkins. Finger guns, finger pistols, you love.
0:16
Speaker 2: This might be your thing, like the last three openings, right?
0:19
Speaker 1: Am I tripping? Big energy from this guy. I don't know.
0:22
Speaker 1: You know?
0:26
Speaker 3: Is that like an American sickness that I just like,
0:28
Speaker 3: you just shoot some fake guns and start the podcast?
0:31
Speaker 1: Jesus Christ, yeah. That'll get the energy flowing. Sometimes like...
0:35
Speaker 1: The blood pumping. The place that podcasts came from.
0:38
Speaker 4: Like the origins of something sometimes just steep into you
0:41
Speaker 4: without even realizing it, you know?
0:42
Speaker 1: It's like that's the origins of podcasts that just sort
0:45
Speaker 1: of like... Yeah. I don't know. It just, yeah.
0:49
Speaker 3: The spirit was moving through me. Welcome to Jenkins and
0:51
Speaker 3: Jones independently owned and operated since 2025.
0:53
Speaker 1: It is Sunday, August 30th.
0:56
Speaker 3: And we have got the championship results from beast bracket three,
1:00
Speaker 3: the 1996 edition.
1:02
Speaker 1: And you won't believe who won 1996.
1:05
Speaker 3: As always, we're hosted by LeJethro Jenkins, AKA John.
1:09
Speaker 1: What's up, Bubbas? I'm Garty B, AKA Mike. Mother fucking Mike. Mike.
1:16
Speaker 3: And we're produced, as always, by the lovely and talented
1:20
Speaker 3: Jackson Saffron.
1:21
Speaker 1: What up? Grizzly beard, Jackson Saffron. It just needs a trim,
1:26
Speaker 1: that's all. You think so? I mean, it definitely does.
1:30
Speaker 1: Is it going over the front lip? Yeah, it's been
1:32
Speaker 1: over the front lip.
1:33
Speaker 4: Like I was saying to Mike before, I just knew
1:36
Speaker 4: I needed to trim it around this time because.
1:38
Speaker 1: We're about to go on a trip.
1:40
Speaker 4: And it was sort of an in-between amount of time
1:42
Speaker 4: where I was like, it was like a week out.
1:44
Speaker 4: And I was like, oh, I don't really want to
1:46
Speaker 4: trim it now. The time is going to be off.
1:47
Speaker 4: So now I've waited well past the threshold. It's not
1:50
Speaker 4: like it's that big of a deal, but it definitely
1:52
Speaker 4: needs to trim.
1:54
Speaker 1: Meanwhile, John got run over by a lawnmower, as my
1:56
Speaker 1: grandfather would say. Hey, somebody said I'm looking overly handsome. Hey, man,
2:00
Speaker 1: I really appreciate this. Oh, man, nigga. You don't get
2:04
Speaker 1: this as much no more, nigga. And this is my
2:06
Speaker 1: actual face. You feel me? I trimmed it too low, bro.
2:09
Speaker 1: I got some good clips. I was like, yikes. And
2:14
Speaker 1: then you got to even it up. Yeah, I had
2:16
Speaker 1: to even it up. You got to thug it out
2:17
Speaker 1: type shit. You know what I mean?
2:19
Speaker 2: Like a hamburger meat But if y'all think that's handsome, appreciate.
2:25
Speaker 3: You Rishi making the point For those who are new
2:27
Speaker 3: to Jenkins and Jones That the chat did indeed have
2:30
Speaker 3: to bully Jackson Into growing.
2:31
Speaker 4: That beard out That is true But yeah, I mean,
2:34
Speaker 4: that's probably the simplest way to describe it.
2:37
Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't know how to describe it like that,
2:38
Speaker 1: but that's probably the simplest way. Yeah, I would say so.
2:40
Speaker 1: I owe the chat a lot. I owe the chat
2:42
Speaker 1: a lot. I owe the chat, me getting a PS5
2:44
Speaker 1: and me having this beard. Two of your top five possessions.
2:48
Speaker 1: I put the pressure on you. I put the real
2:50
Speaker 1: pressure on you.
2:52
Speaker 2: I really feel like I was like, nigga, What the
2:54
Speaker 2: fuck is wrong with you, man? That shit look good
2:55
Speaker 2: as hell. You was lying to yourself.
2:57
Speaker 1: Okay. I think that's... I agree now. I'm happy with it.
3:01
Speaker 4: But I've looked back at some of the pictures from
3:03
Speaker 4: the very early days of it. Not recently, but at
3:06
Speaker 4: some point a while back, I.
3:06
Speaker 1: Looked back at the pictures.
3:08
Speaker 4: It was pretty thin and bare early on.
3:12
Speaker 1: You guys were hyping it up. We can see the vision, though.
3:15
Speaker 1: We just saw it. I feel like it's more seeing
3:17
Speaker 1: potential than you. You were projectable, bro. You were projectable.
3:20
Speaker 1: For sure. We saw that. I had the tools. Yeah.
3:23
Speaker 1: Had the natural ability. Okay. You guys, you guys definitely
3:26
Speaker 1: saw your all NBA. We saw it. We saw into
3:28
Speaker 1: the future. And I looked back and I had to
3:31
Speaker 1: measure it. You know what I mean? They didn't look
3:33
Speaker 1: that good.
3:33
Speaker 3: Wingspan was four inches longer than your height.
3:36
Speaker 4: You know, CKP said, imagine if Jackson showed up clean shaven.
3:40
Speaker 4: I did genuinely consider this for my 30th birthday as a,
3:43
Speaker 4: as a bit, because it does, obviously it would obviously
3:46
Speaker 4: make me look a lot younger.
3:48
Speaker 1: And I really considered it.
3:49
Speaker 4: And then when I voiced that, sort of thought process
3:52
Speaker 4: to my girlfriend, Kim. She gave me a look like
3:57
Speaker 4: I had murdered someone.
4:00
Speaker 1: Don't even fucking think about that. I told y'all what
4:03
Speaker 1: Char said. Wasn't she halfway? Like, wasn't she like, I
4:06
Speaker 1: don't know at first? Yes, at first she was like,
4:08
Speaker 1: I don't know. And then once it filled in. Correct.
4:14
Speaker 1: I told y'all what Char said.
4:15
Speaker 3: I have been clean shaven one time in the very
4:18
Speaker 3: long time that my wife and I have been together.
4:21
Speaker 3: She was not a fan of it. No one was
4:24
Speaker 3: a fan of it actually. Cause I had a goatee
4:26
Speaker 3: since I was like 15 years old. It was like,
4:29
Speaker 3: no one had ever seen it.
4:30
Speaker 1: We saw it. We saw it in a picture with, uh,
4:33
Speaker 1: that picture. Huh? Oh yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Ms.
4:38
Speaker 3: Han.
4:39
Speaker 1: Yeah.
4:40
Speaker 3: But, uh, Char said that I was like, I made
4:42
Speaker 3: a joke at some point about shaving my face again.
4:45
Speaker 3: And she said, You can't do that because when you
4:48
Speaker 3: do that, people see us together and think that you
4:50
Speaker 3: must be rich.
4:51
Speaker 1: That's what she said. That's so crazy.
4:55
Speaker 5: That's the last feedback I need.
4:58
Speaker 2: I actually shaved my shit like for a Yahoo like
5:02
Speaker 2: holiday party. I was I forgot to take this and
5:05
Speaker 2: I shaved all of it off like it was.
5:07
Speaker 1: Whoa. I'm butt naked. I don't even a shadow. You feel. Oh.
5:10
Speaker 3: You're so baby faced. You're so baby faced when you
5:13
Speaker 3: completely shave your face.
5:15
Speaker 1: Rather like still joke about it sometimes. I'm sure I
5:18
Speaker 1: would too. No, that is not a, yeah, not, not, not,
5:24
Speaker 1: not my best day.
5:25
Speaker 4: I am going to show up with a shaved head
5:26
Speaker 4: one day and you guys, it's just going to happen
5:27
Speaker 4: one day and you guys are.
5:28
Speaker 1: Going to just. I will. Buzz cut. Yeah. At some point.
5:32
Speaker 2: That should probably be fire on you. Is your head wopsided?
5:36
Speaker 2: You don't know?
5:38
Speaker 1: Okay. I think he'd probably be fired with a beard.
5:40
Speaker 1: That might be a look, Nicky.
5:44
Speaker 4: I've been saying it for a long time. I haven't
5:45
Speaker 4: done it. But at some point, it's just going to happen.
5:47
Speaker 4: I'm just going to show up one day with it.
5:50
Speaker 1: We are without Dragonfly Jones, a.k.a. Tyler.
5:52
Speaker 3: It is he and his lovely wife's anniversary. And so
5:55
Speaker 3: we wish them a happy anniversary and a lovely dinner.
5:59
Speaker 1: Mrs. Jones and Mr. Jones. Mr. and Mrs. Jones.
6:03
Speaker 3: And in Jenkins and Jones tradition... we're all going to
6:06
Speaker 3: go around and say one thing that we love about Tyler.
6:08
Speaker 1: Hmm. Forgot about this. Hmm. My favorite. Don't make me,
6:12
Speaker 1: don't make me go first. I forgot about my, my, my,
6:15
Speaker 1: my favorite bit because of how much I do. We, we,
6:17
Speaker 1: have we done it with Tyler? No. He hasn't. We've
6:20
Speaker 1: done it with each. It's pretty, it's a pretty new,
6:23
Speaker 1: it's a new tradition. Yeah. That's true. That's true. That's true.
6:26
Speaker 3: This is a very superficial thing, and I'll probably circle
6:29
Speaker 3: back and say something more serious after you guys say
6:32
Speaker 3: your things. But I was just saying that John called
6:34
Speaker 3: me last week and we were talking about him being
6:37
Speaker 3: on that.
6:39
Speaker 1: Screen time reducing device for his phone. And I told John.
6:48
Speaker 3: I was like, I truly don't know why I'm on
6:51
Speaker 3: Twitter because I'm friends in real life with the only
6:55
Speaker 3: interesting person.
6:57
Speaker 1: Remaining on that app. It's like, I don't need to
7:01
Speaker 1: see what Tyler tweets about something because he's.
7:05
Speaker 3: My friend and he has like a one of one brain.
7:08
Speaker 3: He's like one of the most interesting people I've ever known.
7:11
Speaker 3: And I'm one of the people that's lucky enough to
7:14
Speaker 3: not need to just, I know what he says.
7:17
Speaker 4: When you put it like that, it is really like,
7:19
Speaker 4: cause you would, cause now I would go to Twitter
7:21
Speaker 4: maybe to see people's reactions about a thing.
7:23
Speaker 1: Right.
7:23
Speaker 4: But you could just text Tyler. What do you, did
7:25
Speaker 4: you see this? I mean, you could, you could have
7:27
Speaker 4: the best hour of your life.
7:29
Speaker 1: In front of you.
7:30
Speaker 3: Just put it on the topic list. Let's talk about
7:32
Speaker 3: Spider-Man on Thursday, bro.
7:34
Speaker 1: Yeah. That was really thoughtful stuff about Spider-Man.
7:40
Speaker 3: Yeah.
7:41
Speaker 2: Anyway, uh, John, I mean, there, I don't think there's
7:46
Speaker 2: a nigga that's more solid, like morally.
7:49
Speaker 1: You feel me?
7:50
Speaker 2: Like, I just really feel like he's just a good,
7:54
Speaker 2: person to his core. Like he's so thoughtful and considerate
7:59
Speaker 2: and just truly kind. And I feel like there's just not,
8:03
Speaker 2: I don't think there's ever been people kind like that.
8:06
Speaker 1: Just, just genuinely. I've never been a lot of people
8:09
Speaker 1: like that. You know what I mean?
8:10
Speaker 2: But I just think he's a truly kind, like morally
8:14
Speaker 2: like sound, like solid.
8:16
Speaker 1: Motherfucker, man. You know what I'm saying?
8:19
Speaker 2: So like I said, like that's why I want him
8:20
Speaker 2: to be like my, my, um, I said a couple
8:22
Speaker 2: of times, that's why I want to be my, my
8:24
Speaker 2: kid's godparent.
8:25
Speaker 1: You know what I mean? Godfather.
8:26
Speaker 2: Cause you know, like I might go left and they
8:29
Speaker 2: could try to make some shit shake for these babies,
8:31
Speaker 2: but Tyler, make sure they don't follow me.
8:33
Speaker 1: And I can count on that completely. You know what
8:35
Speaker 1: I mean?
8:35
Speaker 4: So, uh, yeah, man, I was going to be sort
8:40
Speaker 4: of something in a similar vein of, he is such
8:43
Speaker 4: a thoughtful friend.
8:45
Speaker 1: He's so thoughtful as a friend.
8:47
Speaker 4: And, um, And the thing that he brings up multiple times,
8:51
Speaker 4: just sort of casually when we talk about it, not
8:53
Speaker 4: in a way to bring attention to it, but just
8:55
Speaker 4: because of how true it is to Tyler, is he
8:57
Speaker 4: talks about how he would bring a gift for Shola
9:01
Speaker 4: as a godparent. And he was like, every time, of course,
9:03
Speaker 4: I'm bringing a gift for Somi. I'm not going to
9:04
Speaker 4: show up. without a gift for Somi also. I'm just like,
9:07
Speaker 4: and I'm also just not a gift person. Like that's
9:09
Speaker 4: not my receiving. I'm just, it's just like sort of
9:12
Speaker 4: a miss for me. Hand up about it, you know?
9:14
Speaker 4: And so I, every time he says that, which has
9:16
Speaker 4: not happened a couple of times, I'm like, wow, this
9:18
Speaker 4: is such a thoughtful person who really wants to just
9:21
Speaker 4: be as sweet and kind and express his love to
9:24
Speaker 4: all of the people in his life.
9:27
Speaker 1: Yeah, for sure. All right. And I know Tyler's going
9:30
Speaker 1: to listen to this. So it'll be good. It'll make
9:33
Speaker 1: him nice and uncomfortable. i don't know if.
9:36
Speaker 3: He actually he might not even be.
9:38
Speaker 2: Uncomfortable i don't think i think it's appreciated i think
9:41
Speaker 2: he's like.
9:42
Speaker 1: This his thing like if somebody says something nice.
9:44
Speaker 2: To him he can't not respond to it because yeah
9:47
Speaker 2: like he's yeah i don't know but yeah i think
9:49
Speaker 2: it's appreciated yeah.
9:50
Speaker 3: All right shall we uh before we get to the
9:54
Speaker 3: results of the beast bracket patreon.com slash jenkins and jones
9:57
Speaker 3: ten dollars a month gets you the following things two
10:00
Speaker 3: extra episodes every week commercial free episodes including of the
10:04
Speaker 3: sunday uh free pods correct access to the discord which
10:10
Speaker 3: is more and more unhinged and hilarious by the week
10:14
Speaker 3: always having a great time on the discord And starting
10:17
Speaker 3: this week, I will be posting in the Discord books
10:22
Speaker 3: that Char and I are giving away for free because
10:24
Speaker 3: we are paring down our book collection and people on
10:28
Speaker 3: the Discord can claim them. They've been asking. They asked
10:31
Speaker 3: me to do that on the book thread. We have
10:33
Speaker 3: some good shit that we're giving away. It's not just
10:35
Speaker 3: like old stuff, whatever. There's some good stuff where it's like, hey,
10:38
Speaker 3: this is a hardcover. We're going to give it to
10:40
Speaker 3: the library, whatever. Our library will only accept one bag
10:43
Speaker 3: at a time. And the amount of books that we
10:45
Speaker 3: are giving away, It will take us a considerable amount
10:48
Speaker 3: of time to donate all the books. So the kids
10:50
Speaker 3: are selling some on eBay. We'll be donating some on
10:53
Speaker 3: the Discord to anyone who wants them. and uh yeah
10:56
Speaker 3: so anyway patreon.com jenkins and jones.
10:59
Speaker 1: Y'all making space for new books or what we doing here.
11:02
Speaker 3: Nah man we just you've been over like there was
11:04
Speaker 3: just like on the floor and shit we just hadn't
11:06
Speaker 3: you know you have kids and you just have shit
11:08
Speaker 3: that piles up quite literally sometimes and so we that
11:11
Speaker 3: you won't even recognize the dining room the next time
11:13
Speaker 3: you're over we painted it.
11:14
Speaker 1: Really like a whole bookshelf's worth of books so now
11:17
Speaker 1: it's no.
11:17
Speaker 3: You guys have so many books We're giving away more
11:21
Speaker 3: books than probably anyone else I know owns, and we still.
11:23
Speaker 1: Have a lot of books. More books than anybody else owns,
11:28
Speaker 1: you know what I mean? Yeah, for sure.
11:30
Speaker 4: There will also be, in a couple weeks, just a
11:33
Speaker 4: light tease. Another reason to join the Patreon is there
11:36
Speaker 4: will be an announcement being made that Discord will get
11:39
Speaker 4: early sort of pod news that you'll have to wait
11:43
Speaker 4: to see if you're not behind the paywall.
11:49
Speaker 1: I love when you do that with the glasses, bro.
11:52
Speaker 1: It really makes us realize how bad your eyesight is.
11:55
Speaker 1: It's crazy how bad mine is. Your eyes feel those
11:57
Speaker 1: fucking lenses, bro. Like, jeez. Look at that. It's like
12:01
Speaker 1: a magnifying glass. Flat out, bro. That's how I got,
12:08
Speaker 1: I got both of John's kids on my side. Kids
12:10
Speaker 1: love that shit. You just pull the.
12:12
Speaker 3: Glasses out, make your eyes big. And they're like, Oh,
12:14
Speaker 3: this one, this one's got something. This is like, I
12:18
Speaker 3: can work with this guy. He's not going to just
12:20
Speaker 3: ask me about my day and try and shake my hand,
12:22
Speaker 3: even though I'm talking.
12:24
Speaker 1: All right. Um, let's get to it.
12:26
Speaker 3: The championship results, 1996 beast bracket, beast bracket.
12:30
Speaker 1: Number three. This was a fun ride all summer. Jackie,
12:36
Speaker 1: do you want to, Take us away. Yes.
12:39
Speaker 4: We, for those who missed the last round or whatever,
12:43
Speaker 4: we are at the final with Michael Jordan, the one
12:45
Speaker 4: seed versus Ken Griffey, Jr. The 18 unexpected run from
12:49
Speaker 4: the eight seed salute salutes.
12:53
Speaker 1: Absolutely.
12:54
Speaker 4: And you know, there were some of us that were
12:57
Speaker 4: hoping that Ken Griffey, Jr. Would be able to maybe
12:59
Speaker 4: steal something.
13:00
Speaker 3: Maybe, maybe, maybe I was hoping that I.
13:03
Speaker 1: Was hoping just from a chaos perspective. Yeah.
13:06
Speaker 4: Also, I would have felt like I won a bracket
13:09
Speaker 4: that wasn't actually in competition for, if Ken Griffey Jr.
13:12
Speaker 1: Won. I relate to that.
13:16
Speaker 4: It was not to be. Michael Jordan, shocker, defeated Ken
13:19
Speaker 4: Griffey Jr. Would you like to guess which platform, Twitter
13:23
Speaker 4: or Patreon, skewed more towards Michael Jordan?
13:25
Speaker 1: It was pretty close, but I'm just curious. I would
13:27
Speaker 1: say Twitter. I would guess Twitter as well. You're going
13:30
Speaker 1: to say Patreon. Incorrect. Wow. Twitter went 65%. Wow. Patreon, 68%.
13:39
Speaker 1: Slightly more to Michael Jordan. That's closer than I thought
13:42
Speaker 1: it would be, honestly. Yeah.
13:44
Speaker 3: Is that the first time Michael Jordan was under 70%
13:47
Speaker 3: on the vote?
13:49
Speaker 1: I think maybe, yeah, I think so.
13:51
Speaker 3: A dominant run by Michael Jordan to become the king
13:55
Speaker 3: of 1996.
13:56
Speaker 4: And another dominant run, Anthony S. won our bracket pool. Anthony,
14:01
Speaker 4: we will be emailing you as well. We will come
14:03
Speaker 4: up with some sort of prize. Congratulations for winning the bracket.
14:07
Speaker 4: It was actually pretty dominant. He was like hundreds of
14:09
Speaker 4: points ahead of second place.
14:11
Speaker 2: Oh, wow.
14:12
Speaker 1: He went crazy. He knew all the shit people were
14:15
Speaker 1: going to think that surprised us.
14:17
Speaker 4: I think he had a beat on Ken Griffey.
14:22
Speaker 1: Should we brainstorm it? Yeah. Should we do a live brainstorm?
14:26
Speaker 4: You got an idea?
14:27
Speaker 1: I'm trying to think something MJ related.
14:29
Speaker 3: I could look up my, that MJ card I said
14:34
Speaker 3: I had and see if it's worth money. And if
14:36
Speaker 3: it's worth money, then I would not send it to
14:38
Speaker 3: Anthony S but if it's worth like a reasonable amount
14:41
Speaker 3: of money, if it's worth like $ 30, I would send
14:43
Speaker 3: it to Anthony.
14:43
Speaker 1: I think this is a great idea. That's a great idea.
14:47
Speaker 1: That's so honest and hilarious. I mean, let's be real.
14:50
Speaker 1: I'm not going to send the man a $ 2, 000 basketball.
14:53
Speaker 4: So that's the only question is, are you worried about,
14:56
Speaker 4: I guess it's Michael Jordan. The value is probably not
14:58
Speaker 4: going to spike dramatically at some point, but it's like,
15:00
Speaker 4: you know, if you gave away a, a Chauncey Billups
15:03
Speaker 4: card after, after a couple of weeks in the NBA,
15:05
Speaker 4: it's like, damn, I really thought I was selling at the.
15:08
Speaker 1: Right value spot, but you worry about the value of
15:10
Speaker 1: that card spiking.
15:12
Speaker 3: Okay, what else could we do? Something Michael Jordan related,
15:16
Speaker 3: but that would be funny or interesting. I could sign
15:21
Speaker 3: a copy of Space Jam for him as an extra
15:24
Speaker 3: in Space Jam.
15:25
Speaker 1: Oh, I forgot you're an extra. What does your signature
15:27
Speaker 1: look like, bro? You probably signed a lot of things
15:30
Speaker 1: in your life.
15:30
Speaker 2: If you have a signature you've used, I mean, not papers,
15:34
Speaker 2: but you sign things for people.
15:36
Speaker 1: You've written books and shit.
15:38
Speaker 3: My signature used to be like basically my name in cursive.
15:42
Speaker 3: And then after writing the books and having to sign
15:46
Speaker 3: a lot of books for people, it is now a
15:49
Speaker 3: very abbreviated big cursive MG. Basically it's very janky looking,
15:56
Speaker 3: but you just like, you're, Oh, okay.
16:00
Speaker 1: Well, that could be the gift. Are you funny? He's
16:02
Speaker 1: got to be funny. He's in the chat. I mean,
16:05
Speaker 1: he wants to come on the pod. Let's just say, yeah. Yeah,
16:07
Speaker 1: for sure. Okay, cool. Yeah, we'll just give him a segment. Yeah,
16:12
Speaker 1: tap in. Fuck it. All right. We try to come
16:15
Speaker 1: up with something goofy. He's like, can I come on
16:17
Speaker 1: the pod? Can I be on the podcast for five minutes?
16:19
Speaker 1: Very simple.
16:20
Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
16:21
Speaker 1: I don't know. We don't even got to get your address.
16:24
Speaker 1: Congrats to Michael Jordan. They thought he couldn't do it.
16:27
Speaker 4: They thought he couldn't do it. They said, that guy,
16:29
Speaker 4: he can't win this bracket. He proved them all wrong.
16:33
Speaker 1: Yeah. Wow. All he had was, you know... Everything, nigga.
16:38
Speaker 1: All he had was everything and a dream, and it
16:41
Speaker 1: worked out. All right.
16:46
Speaker 3: Jackson, as is Beast Bracket tradition, has cut together a
16:49
Speaker 3: special video, which will be on social media on Monday.
16:53
Speaker 1: But Jackson, do you want to debut that live for
16:56
Speaker 1: the people watching the YouTube? Close out the bracket season.
17:01
Speaker 5: Damn, bro.
17:02
Speaker 1: Look at that swing, man. Everyone's favorite. Hey Arnold. Oh,
17:31
Speaker 1: there we go. Love to see that one. That's a
17:35
Speaker 1: line of smarts that if you didn't know. Who, me?
17:38
Speaker 1: I know who she is.
17:39
Speaker 3: Our favorite combination.
17:54
Speaker 1: Congrats to Michael Jordan. Congrats. He did it. He did it.
18:00
Speaker 1: No one believed in him.
18:02
Speaker 3: Hey, I don't know if you guys have ever heard this,
18:04
Speaker 3: but you know, he was cut off of the JV
18:06
Speaker 3: basketball team.
18:07
Speaker 1: As a sophomore. Okay. And it motivated him to win
18:09
Speaker 1: this bracket. That wasn't a sophomore, was it?
18:11
Speaker 3: No, I think it was because at that time, I
18:13
Speaker 3: believe you, their freshman year was not in high school.
18:16
Speaker 3: I think that the story, it's like, he made it
18:17
Speaker 3: sound like it was his big offense. I think it
18:19
Speaker 3: was literally that the coach made him play JV as
18:21
Speaker 3: a sophomore and instead of putting him straight to the
18:24
Speaker 3: varsity team.
18:24
Speaker 1: I thought it was freshman, but either way. And for that,
18:27
Speaker 1: that's really normal.
18:28
Speaker 3: When I, when I laid that man 30 years.
18:33
Speaker 4: Yeah.
18:33
Speaker 1: The takeaway should probably not be in Michael. They said
18:36
Speaker 1: he got cut from his team, which I was like,
18:38
Speaker 1: they said he didn't make the basketball. He just played.
18:40
Speaker 3: Yeah.
18:41
Speaker 1: Yeah. When really the coach did the merciful thing.
18:43
Speaker 3: I'm like, Hey man, I could put you on varsity,
18:45
Speaker 3: but you're going to be like the ninth guy, or
18:47
Speaker 3: you could be the guy on JV.
18:48
Speaker 1: You get a lot of reps, learn the system.
18:50
Speaker 3: Like, And he shit-talked that dude in his Hall of
18:55
Speaker 3: Fame speech for like half the speech.
18:59
Speaker 1: It's kind of crazy we glorified some of that stuff.
19:01
Speaker 1: I don't know.
19:02
Speaker 4: I'm just like the Kobe-MJ mentality thing I feel so
19:06
Speaker 4: disconnected from at this point in my life that it's really,
19:10
Speaker 4: it's starting almost.
19:12
Speaker 1: He was left off the varsity squad as a sophomore.
19:16
Speaker 1: How dare you? Yeah. Yeah. Yes. And yes, Miles, he was,
19:19
Speaker 1: he had not yet had the gross. And do we like,
19:21
Speaker 1: it wasn't also nine. Was the team good? Like it's not,
19:24
Speaker 1: not every sophomore. Sometimes the high school team is really good.
19:27
Speaker 1: And then they just, you know, the upperclassmen are really good. Yeah.
19:31
Speaker 3: Yep.
19:32
Speaker 1: The man was five, nine as a sophomore. He was
19:34
Speaker 1: still human. Of course he, yeah. That makes sense. He
19:38
Speaker 1: was on JV. Yeah.
19:40
Speaker 3: Yeah.
19:40
Speaker 1: Oh, J man was six, four and sixth grade. That's
19:44
Speaker 1: my mega. There's some people that are grown men. Wait, wait.
19:48
Speaker 1: Michael Jordan, 5'9 sophomore.
19:50
Speaker 4: At what age do you think that you, John, could
19:54
Speaker 4: beat Michael Jordan in your basketball prime? You're in your
19:56
Speaker 4: basketball prime. How old is Michael Jordan before he's beating
20:01
Speaker 4: you in one-on-one? Sophomore in high school? Like, he's 5'9,
20:05
Speaker 4: not making.
20:06
Speaker 1: The high school team? No, no, he's killing me. No,
20:08
Speaker 1: my prime, I would have cooked him. That's what I'm saying. Johnny,
20:10
Speaker 1: your prime, you're probably beating a sophomore who's not making varsity.
20:13
Speaker 1: So how old? Like, right before his growth spurt probably
20:16
Speaker 1: is the last moment. I mean, he went to USC
20:17
Speaker 1: as a senior. I'd imagine his junior year, he went crazy.
20:19
Speaker 2: Like, he probably would have smacked me in my junior year.
20:21
Speaker 1: He probably grew between sophomore and junior year or something.
20:24
Speaker 2: Yeah, whenever he got over, like, 6'3, I struggle shooting
20:26
Speaker 2: over people like 6'3.
20:27
Speaker 1: That was a height where I was like, nigga, I...
20:33
Speaker 1: I might not shoot that well today, nigga. You feel me?
20:37
Speaker 1: I'm about to shoot that bitch from the NBA line.
20:39
Speaker 2: You feel me?
20:41
Speaker 1: When he got to 6'3, 6'4. Yeah, that's where we
20:44
Speaker 1: get a little dicey. I'll put him in sixth grade.
20:49
Speaker 1: For your basketball prime?
20:50
Speaker 3: I just don't know at what point. I did not
20:53
Speaker 3: have a one-on-one game.
20:55
Speaker 1: I don't have a one-on-one game either. I was a hard-fouling,
20:58
Speaker 1: put-back rebounder. Yeah. I don't know. You couldn't stop him?
21:05
Speaker 3: I don't know at what age I could stop Michael
21:08
Speaker 3: Jordan on the perimeter. He might have had to be.
21:12
Speaker 1: In sixth grade, bro. Yeah. I'd imagine he was abnormally
21:17
Speaker 1: strong for his age, too, though. I would assume. Yeah, yeah.
21:22
Speaker 2: I mean, the strength would have probably been a big
21:24
Speaker 2: obstacle too.
21:26
Speaker 1: They're talking about his growth spurt.
21:28
Speaker 3: I remember because I had the.
21:31
Speaker 1: VHS, the Michael Jordan's Playground VHS. I would watch that
21:34
Speaker 1: shit like weekly.
21:36
Speaker 3: And he would talk about wanting so bad to get
21:39
Speaker 3: taller that he would.
21:40
Speaker 1: Go hang on the bars on.
21:43
Speaker 3: The playground rip the dead hangs and just hang there
21:46
Speaker 3: and just wait just please like stretch out and i
21:49
Speaker 3: would i was seriously doing that shit elementary school too
21:52
Speaker 3: like i have to get tall this is how michael
21:55
Speaker 3: jordan did.
21:56
Speaker 4: Hey man whatever works you were pretty tall pretty early
22:00
Speaker 4: so you know whatever worked for you too maybe yeah.
22:04
Speaker 3: Uh michael jordan's brother was five foot nine dunking it's
22:07
Speaker 3: on youtube damn yeah i mean listen.
22:10
Speaker 2: I was dunking in high school too when i was
22:11
Speaker 2: five foot nine really you could dunk a five nine
22:14
Speaker 2: damn yeah i mean i was five nine when i
22:16
Speaker 2: graduated i grew two inches on college for some reason like.
22:21
Speaker 3: Was that a yeah i love i love i love
22:24
Speaker 3: gross bird stories i that is like as a sports
22:27
Speaker 3: writer yeah.
22:30
Speaker 1: I just, I love.
22:31
Speaker 3: Asking people because you learn so much about someone asking
22:35
Speaker 3: them like, when did you get tall? Like it's a total,
22:38
Speaker 3: if you were, if you got tall in fifth grade
22:40
Speaker 3: is totally different. And then like, there's people like, you know,
22:43
Speaker 3: I think Clayton Kershaw's entire growth spurt was between 10th
22:47
Speaker 3: and 11th grade. Like, I think he literally grew like a,
22:50
Speaker 3: like he was like five foot seven and then he
22:52
Speaker 3: was six foot four.
22:53
Speaker 4: Like I went from five, three to five, 10 in
22:56
Speaker 4: the summer, but basically between freshman and sophomore year.
22:59
Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Michael Jordan averaged 27 as a junior. Yeah.
23:05
Speaker 1: I think that's when he was before that. And he
23:07
Speaker 1: was six, three. That was your number, bro.
23:12
Speaker 3: If he was six, two, you might've had him, but six,
23:14
Speaker 3: 27 in high school.
23:16
Speaker 1: I mean, like, I don't know, bro. The athleticism would
23:19
Speaker 1: have been a problem, bro. That's what I'm saying.
23:22
Speaker 3: Like I could absolutely see me tripping over myself. trying
23:27
Speaker 3: to stay in front of eighth grade Michael Jordan yeah.
23:30
Speaker 4: I think I think freshman or sophomore year is probably
23:32
Speaker 4: the answer for me probably freshman or sophomore year yeah.
23:35
Speaker 3: Yeah I don't got the I don't got the hips
23:39
Speaker 3: the bed I got none of it brother I didn't
23:41
Speaker 3: like I mean I'm sliding my ass off but.
23:46
Speaker 1: You would have put forth the effort that's what you're saying.
23:48
Speaker 3: I would definitely have put forth the effort I could
23:52
Speaker 3: promise you that much all right uh That's.
23:55
Speaker 1: A great question. I've never thought about that. It was
23:59
Speaker 1: a great question. Was that Jackson's or was someone in
24:02
Speaker 1: the shot? That was Jackson. That was all Jackson, bro.
24:06
Speaker 3: Michael Jordan's not coming up with a question like that.
24:08
Speaker 3: Did you see that Michael Jordan, they're not doing that
24:10
Speaker 3: NBC bullshit with him again?
24:12
Speaker 1: Why? Because it was just so bland? Because it was
24:14
Speaker 1: the wacky shit of all time. It was a lot
24:16
Speaker 1: of nothing.
24:17
Speaker 3: They spent $ 30 million to get clowned by all of
24:20
Speaker 3: America for how much Michael Jordan fucking played in their face.
24:26
Speaker 1: I'll give you an hour. You can cut that shit up.
24:31
Speaker 3: Here's my only stipulations. I won't answer any interesting questions.
24:35
Speaker 3: I won't comment on anything that is happening currently. I'll
24:40
Speaker 3: talk about winning though.
24:41
Speaker 1: Like I could talk to you about winning. What was
24:44
Speaker 1: the purpose?
24:45
Speaker 2: Like what did they think was going to happen with
24:47
Speaker 2: the gave him those stipulations? They just thought because he's
24:50
Speaker 2: MJ people will lock in.
24:51
Speaker 1: Yeah. He's competing with a lot more than he was
24:55
Speaker 1: in 96. You know what I mean? As far as
24:59
Speaker 1: like people, entertainment, you know what I mean? Yes. Yes.
25:04
Speaker 4: Yes.
25:04
Speaker 1: Yes.
25:04
Speaker 4: Yes.
25:05
Speaker 1: All right. We do have a couple. We got a
25:08
Speaker 1: little news item to get to here and then we
25:10
Speaker 1: got to keep up with the week. News item. Okay.
25:14
Speaker 3: We're generally an anti-victim blaming podcast in all forms.
25:20
Speaker 1: What happened?
25:23
Speaker 3: I am really struggling to find sympathy for the people
25:27
Speaker 3: who got scammed by this fake 49er football player.
25:31
Speaker 1: I'm really struggling.
25:33
Speaker 2: I don't know what happened. I saw you posted it.
25:35
Speaker 2: I don't know completely what happened. I saw like, I'm like,
25:39
Speaker 2: I'm like, that person joking or was it, but they
25:42
Speaker 2: seriously scared people with that.
25:44
Speaker 3: He scammed $ 1. 3 million from 50 people, John.
25:49
Speaker 1: Oh nigga. Like, okay. That's a lot of money from
25:52
Speaker 1: only 10 people. Can you explain Mike? Yeah. I don't
25:56
Speaker 1: get that. There was a dude.
25:59
Speaker 3: Who was pretending on his Instagram to be a member
26:03
Speaker 3: of the San Francisco 49ers for the last couple of seasons.
26:08
Speaker 1: Okay. Couple of seasons.
26:10
Speaker 3: And the way he was pretending it, John was that
26:13
Speaker 3: he was like, he ordered himself a cake to congratulate
26:18
Speaker 3: himself for signing with the 49ers, a 49er Jersey cake.
26:22
Speaker 3: He would like, he had someone film him running routes
26:26
Speaker 3: on the beach and, Like that are like, it looks
26:29
Speaker 3: like you and me running routes, bro. It's like, it
26:33
Speaker 3: took him eight steps to make the post cut. Like,
26:37
Speaker 3: and he's wearing a helmet, a 49er helmet and no shirt.
26:41
Speaker 3: Fucking pants. He would just like go be in his
26:46
Speaker 3: car talking about like, it's so hard being in the league.
26:50
Speaker 3: And like people, I'm not, everyone was falling for it,
26:53
Speaker 3: but apparently enough people fell for it that he's been
26:56
Speaker 3: arrested for scamming a million plus dollars out of people.
27:01
Speaker 1: But how did he scam? Because he would be like, Hey, like,
27:04
Speaker 1: you know, I'm in the NFL.
27:05
Speaker 3: This thing with my contracts going on, like I have
27:07
Speaker 3: a business opportunity for you, but like, I can't put
27:10
Speaker 3: my $ 20, 000 into it right now. But like, if you
27:12
Speaker 3: send me your shit that, you know, so if you
27:15
Speaker 3: take the football part out of it, it's a normal
27:18
Speaker 3: con man thing of like, he's pretending to be a
27:20
Speaker 3: rich guy so that people are like, Oh, you know,
27:23
Speaker 3: he's good for whatever. But the crazy thing about it
27:28
Speaker 3: is he's pretending to be a football player and they
27:30
Speaker 3: list the rosters of the football team on the internet.
27:35
Speaker 1: Like, that's what they do.
27:36
Speaker 2: Why would they do that so publicly, knowing that if
27:38
Speaker 2: somebody tells, there's footage and, like, of him lying.
27:43
Speaker 1: And scamming and all the... That's why he got arrested.
27:46
Speaker 1: That's so insane.
27:49
Speaker 2: Like, eventually, you're going to jail for this. Wouldn't you
27:52
Speaker 2: want to commit a crime that you think you can
27:54
Speaker 2: get away with? Not something that you know at some point.
27:58
Speaker 2: You go into the Who Scout, nigga, like, and you
28:00
Speaker 2: got all the documentation of all your it is, it
28:03
Speaker 2: is he, or your bullshit.
28:05
Speaker 1: It's so crazy. Jackson, can you get the video? I've
28:09
Speaker 1: been seeing it.
28:10
Speaker 3: Black winter said the beach videos have had me vomit laughing.
28:17
Speaker 3: But he also kept referring to the NFL as quote football.
28:21
Speaker 3: where like, like, cause he was also trying to hit
28:24
Speaker 3: on women and stuff. And like, someone was like, so
28:26
Speaker 3: why can't I find one video of you playing in
28:29
Speaker 3: college or the pros? And his response was, and I quote,
28:33
Speaker 3: you must not know how football works.
28:40
Speaker 1: Okay. You're, you're ready to watch this video. What does
28:44
Speaker 1: that mean? What is it? Okay. Okay. Enjoy this video, John. Okay.
28:52
Speaker 1: Hold on, hold on. His stride is this long, bro.
29:18
Speaker 2: Yo, he couldn't do nothing in the motherfucking flag football league, nigga.
29:25
Speaker 1: You feel me? In her murals, he would have got cooked.
29:29
Speaker 1: He needs food. Hey, just write that back, please. Nigga,
29:33
Speaker 1: let me see. Motherfucking cut, nigga.
29:36
Speaker 4: Oh, shit.
29:40
Speaker 1: Shit. Hey, yo, they got scared by this, nigga. They
29:45
Speaker 1: really didn't know how football works. He was right. This
29:52
Speaker 1: is the best part of the video, right here. This
29:55
Speaker 1: is the best part of the video, right here. Yo!
29:58
Speaker 1: This is not a... Oh, shit. Oh, shit. Why you
30:00
Speaker 1: got the helmet on? This nigga look like a bobblehead.
30:12
Speaker 1: What the fuck going on, bro? This is a weird
30:16
Speaker 1: world we live in, nigga. I got the brick right
30:18
Speaker 1: in time, dog. Right in time. I did not need this. Oh, no.
30:25
Speaker 1: That is crazy, nigga. Yo! Yo! Nigga's feet slow as
30:32
Speaker 1: a motherfucker. That's crazy. Oh, man. People was falling for
30:39
Speaker 1: that bullshit. People were falling for it. More than, more than,
30:45
Speaker 1: more than one person, more than one person was falling.
30:48
Speaker 1: That is crazy. Oh shit.
30:54
Speaker 4: I got it.
30:54
Speaker 2: I might have to tap it. I'm gonna turn this
30:55
Speaker 2: brick off for that, bro. Y'all finna have me doom scrolling.
31:03
Speaker 2: that shit crazy.
31:05
Speaker 3: Well he it's insane how everyone um hemsism is requesting
31:11
Speaker 3: the picture of him in business cash with the helmet
31:15
Speaker 3: um people have gone because all his stuff was public
31:18
Speaker 3: john and he literally was like follow me on my
31:20
Speaker 3: journey i'm trying to show y'all the other side.
31:22
Speaker 1: Of football that people don't really see But, like, everyone's
31:29
Speaker 1: going back and looking through everything. John, he did a
31:31
Speaker 1: turkey giveaway, bro. Like... Like, really, really? Or just staged that?
31:36
Speaker 1: Do we know if it's true or not? He put
31:38
Speaker 1: a flyer up, like.
31:43
Speaker 1: Bruce Wang wants a brick update.
31:45
Speaker 3: I'm going to ask John on one of the podcasts
31:47
Speaker 3: this week about the brick, because I'm, like, 50-50 on
31:50
Speaker 3: it as well.
31:50
Speaker 1: So, I said, why don't we... How about he.
31:53
Speaker 3: Has it for a week first, and then we'll... We'll
31:56
Speaker 3: get on it. No address on the flyer.
31:58
Speaker 1: Just a place to donate money for the turkeys. Oh, shit.
32:06
Speaker 1: Niggas will fall for anything, bro. Man. That's tough. Anyway. Oh, man.
32:13
Speaker 1: I'm looking at a picture of this nigga, bro. Crazy.
32:20
Speaker 1: I think the thing that's sad is....
32:23
Speaker 3: He is going to get out of jail and make
32:25
Speaker 3: money off of being famous for this, which I think
32:29
Speaker 3: we all should like, except now, like he was making
32:32
Speaker 3: money off of being pretend famous. And like, now he
32:34
Speaker 3: is like, everyone's been talking about him for like four days.
32:37
Speaker 3: So he is now actually famous, you know?
32:39
Speaker 1: Like, what is it? Oh God.
32:42
Speaker 2: Fame is just so weird now because there's like not
32:46
Speaker 2: oftentimes there's no talent attached to it.
32:49
Speaker 1: Like, how do you... It's just brazenness. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Anyway.
32:57
Speaker 1: They said he has the helmet while he's driving. Wait.
33:05
Speaker 4: What?
33:09
Speaker 2: This nigga driving in the helmet shut the fuck up
33:12
Speaker 2: are you kidding me.
33:14
Speaker 6: I haven't seen one of him driving with it on
33:16
Speaker 6: but he's always finding he's always finding a way to
33:19
Speaker 6: position the helmet so that it's visible because he clearly
33:22
Speaker 6: spent real money on the helmet and so that is.
33:27
Speaker 1: Crazy See, I wish he wasn't actually a scammer.
33:30
Speaker 4: And it was just, it was just, this was just
33:31
Speaker 4: funny because I do think, I do think being a
33:34
Speaker 4: producer for this, someone said in the chat, he should
33:36
Speaker 4: do it, start an NFL player pod. And I do
33:38
Speaker 4: think I would have a lot of fun producing like
33:40
Speaker 4: an onion style, fake player podcast, but he's really scamming people.
33:45
Speaker 1: So that's not, here's, here's the, here's the thing, bro.
33:48
Speaker 3: And again, like I'm a very sympathetic, empathetic person, but
33:55
Speaker 3: some people, deserve to have their money stolen from them
33:59
Speaker 3: oh and if you fall for this i will personally
34:04
Speaker 3: steal your money from you.
34:05
Speaker 1: As well.
34:10
Speaker 3: Because people that are so stupid to fall for this
34:12
Speaker 3: you didn't even.
34:13
Speaker 1: Need to do anything illegal to take their money bro
34:15
Speaker 1: maybe them people were old bro That's the thing. That's not...
34:19
Speaker 1: Old people ain't... No, no, no. It's not who's been
34:21
Speaker 1: revealed as... It's different with old people. I agree. Yeah,
34:24
Speaker 1: old people ain't built for this world, bro. Yeah, I agree.
34:27
Speaker 1: They licks. They easily.
34:29
Speaker 2: They out here just looking like food to a scammer.
34:32
Speaker 1: It's cold. It's a cold game. So they old... That's rough.
34:36
Speaker 1: My mom and I have an agreement.
34:38
Speaker 3: I was like, I'll bail you out of whatever situation
34:41
Speaker 3: you need bailed, but don't have both of us out
34:44
Speaker 3: here looking stupid because my mom invented the phrase too
34:46
Speaker 3: stupid to live. That's like a signature saying of my
34:49
Speaker 3: mom's that she would say.
34:50
Speaker 1: About people, bro. What a legend. What a legend.
34:54
Speaker 3: But that's what she said. She said the first time
34:56
Speaker 3: she got fooled by AI, she.
34:58
Speaker 1: Deleted her Facebook account. Oh, that's what she said?
35:02
Speaker 3: She said exactly what you said. She was like, this
35:03
Speaker 3: is not for me. I'm not going to be out
35:05
Speaker 3: here trying to figure out what's real and not real.
35:07
Speaker 3: I can see the shit outside my window is real.
35:09
Speaker 3: The shit I see in the real world is real.
35:12
Speaker 2: We talked about this, but it's getting so, like, I
35:15
Speaker 2: was having a conversation.
35:16
Speaker 1: I know, say, let's have a conversation. Wait, I'll talk
35:17
Speaker 1: to you about it, Mike. Let's have a.
35:19
Speaker 2: Conversation with somebody. And I was like, yo, is this
35:21
Speaker 2: person real? And they were like, she looks real. And
35:25
Speaker 2: I was like, because she's a black woman. And the
35:28
Speaker 2: person I was with was fake. And I'm like, she's bad,
35:30
Speaker 2: but I'm not attracted to her. I don't find anything
35:32
Speaker 2: attractive about her. Like, I normally would think this person's attractive.
35:35
Speaker 2: There's something off about her. And I looked it up,
35:38
Speaker 2: and she was AI. And it's like, you can tell
35:41
Speaker 2: when somebody, you know, like, it doesn't, it didn't feel real.
35:45
Speaker 1: Like, she looked real, but it didn't feel real. You
35:48
Speaker 1: feel me? So, like, I can't, it's getting, they're getting
35:51
Speaker 1: cold with it, bro. Like, you know what I'm saying?
35:53
Speaker 2: Like, if it was a white woman, I probably would
35:56
Speaker 2: have thought she was real.
35:57
Speaker 1: You know what I mean? The sniff test wouldn't have
36:00
Speaker 1: been there. I don't know. You have to respect him.
36:03
Speaker 3: He wasn't using AI. He went to fans at the
36:07
Speaker 3: mall and paid $ 300 for that helmet. That episode of
36:11
Speaker 3: The Simpsons where Marge has that one Chanel outfit and
36:14
Speaker 3: she cuts it up like seven different ways so the
36:16
Speaker 3: ladies at the country club think she's not poor. That
36:20
Speaker 3: was him. He would get one piece of 49ers workout
36:22
Speaker 3: gear and he would find every different angle to shoot
36:25
Speaker 3: it from.
36:26
Speaker 1: Like I got to.
36:27
Speaker 3: Get at least six videos out of this $ 50 workout shirt.
36:32
Speaker 1: How much did that helmet cost? You said he spent
36:34
Speaker 1: some real money on them. Let's just get pretty expensive, right?
36:36
Speaker 3: That's why I think he was putting it in. Like
36:39
Speaker 3: he fake signed a contract, John. And it's like the
36:42
Speaker 3: whole time, this whole thing is public. It's all public.
36:45
Speaker 3: You can't secretly sign to the NFL.
36:48
Speaker 1: You can't do it.
36:49
Speaker 3: And Mina Kimes, friend of the show pointed out, It's
36:53
Speaker 3: a sick statement on how fucked up Google is that
36:56
Speaker 3: the Google AI search, he put so much fake shit
36:59
Speaker 3: out there about being on the 49ers that if you
37:02
Speaker 3: Google him, the Google AI said he was on the 49ers.
37:07
Speaker 3: The Google AI summary, which is nasty. So the only
37:10
Speaker 3: other thing I'll throw out there, because I do know
37:12
Speaker 3: how football works, you ask the pro athletes for money.
37:18
Speaker 3: They don't ask you for money. And I'm not saying me,
37:23
Speaker 3: but I'm just like, if you ever known someone who
37:25
Speaker 3: made it to the NFL, that's like a running job.
37:28
Speaker 1: I always joke, how many cousins did you find out
37:30
Speaker 1: you had? All of a sudden. All of a sudden,
37:33
Speaker 1: they got a dad again. Nigga, I ain't. What the fuck?
37:39
Speaker 1: You know what I mean? I've seen it happen.
37:41
Speaker 3: I've seen that exact scenario happen.
37:44
Speaker 1: Draft party. Nah. Right. Who? Nope. No thanks. We just
37:52
Speaker 1: got the same last name, brother. I do not know you.
37:56
Speaker 3: We put the reservation in for a fixed number. Anyway,
38:02
Speaker 3: shout out to this guy. They really didn't know how
38:04
Speaker 3: football works. Mary hit it on the head.
38:06
Speaker 1: They didn't know. All right. Dookie Bud of the Week.
38:13
Speaker 1: Should we do it? Let's do it. Let's do it. Jackson,
38:17
Speaker 1: who's your Dookie Bud of the Week?
38:19
Speaker 4: My dookie butt of the week is a co-dookie butt
38:21
Speaker 4: of the week between Lonzo Ball and Michael Porter Jr.
38:26
Speaker 1: Oh, no. You didn't see their thing? I did not
38:30
Speaker 1: see their thing. You guys haven't seen this? I did not.
38:33
Speaker 1: I've been trying to follow up.
38:34
Speaker 2: I heard Lonzo said something about not regretting big baller shoes.
38:37
Speaker 1: Yeah, that was interesting. I mean, that stuff was interesting
38:39
Speaker 1: about Lonzo's life. I didn't see anything else. That's not
38:41
Speaker 1: even what I'm talking about. But Michael Porter Jr. Hold on,
38:43
Speaker 1: hold on, hold on, hold on. This is.
38:45
Speaker 3: This is such a real comment from Dare. He said,
38:47
Speaker 3: the only reason I wanted to go to the league
38:49
Speaker 3: as a kid is because I thought it would make
38:51
Speaker 3: my dad show up and I wanted the satisfaction of
38:54
Speaker 3: saying I didn't know it.
38:55
Speaker 1: I would wait for this so badly. Bro, we all
39:00
Speaker 1: need therapy. We all need therapy. We scarred. Help me
39:05
Speaker 1: with this exact issue. If you're in your 30s, is
39:10
Speaker 1: it not a little old? I want to make a
39:11
Speaker 1: dream come true just so I can shit on my father. Like,
39:15
Speaker 1: That was a main goal behind. Damn, that's crazy. Yeah,
39:21
Speaker 1: it be like that, though. It be like that. It do.
39:24
Speaker 1: It do be like that. You feel me? It really
39:29
Speaker 1: go ahead though. Jackson. Sorry. Yeah. It's okay.
39:32
Speaker 4: So Michael Porter jr. Went on Lonzo balls podcast. At
39:34
Speaker 4: least that's my understanding. My read of the situation.
39:36
Speaker 1: Interesting. Interesting duo.
39:39
Speaker 2: Yeah.
39:39
Speaker 1: You know, they got a lot of thoughts. Both those
39:41
Speaker 1: guys got a lot, a lot of thoughts, especially in
39:43
Speaker 1: Michael Porter jr. And I don't know if they, how
39:45
Speaker 1: this question was asked.
39:46
Speaker 4: I didn't, I should have watched more of it, I guess.
39:48
Speaker 4: but there was like a hypothetical question. They were both
39:50
Speaker 4: pondering the hypothetical, actually not really pondering. They had a
39:53
Speaker 4: pretty strong answer. It was, would you press a button?
39:57
Speaker 4: And if you press that button, you get a billion dollars.
40:02
Speaker 4: The other thing that happens, someone somewhere in the world
40:05
Speaker 4: that you don't know dies. Would you kill someone for
40:09
Speaker 4: a billion dollars is the question. Now they said, fuck yeah.
40:13
Speaker 4: They both said, run me my money immediately. And Michael
40:17
Speaker 4: Porter Jr. tried to couch it by being like, well,
40:19
Speaker 4: if I give $ 100 million of the billion to charity,
40:21
Speaker 4: then really the net positive I'm doing for society outweighs it.
40:27
Speaker 1: So I'm really doing a good thing, actually. You're calculating
40:29
Speaker 1: somebody's value monetarily. Correct. And that was going to save. Yeah,
40:36
Speaker 1: that's crazy. Tough one for those. Even if you think yes,
40:40
Speaker 1: the answer is no. Correct. Exactly. You know what I mean?
40:43
Speaker 3: I've had plenty of times it would have been hard
40:46
Speaker 3: to say no.
40:47
Speaker 1: And that's what I was going to say. On camera,
40:49
Speaker 1: would you ever have said yes, even at those times?
40:53
Speaker 1: When you're an NBA player who's worth nine figures.
40:57
Speaker 3: Well, and they, I'm sorry, but the Ball family did
40:59
Speaker 3: not grow up like not able to eat or something.
41:03
Speaker 1: I agree with you, Mike. I don't know Michael Porter Jr.
41:06
Speaker 1: I'm not judging as hard.
41:07
Speaker 3: People who've been on the bottom end of the capitalist
41:12
Speaker 3: spectrum and seen the way that human life is devalued,
41:15
Speaker 3: I understand them sometimes having a.
41:17
Speaker 1: Mentality of kill or be killed.
41:20
Speaker 3: I understand that to some extent, but that's not.
41:23
Speaker 1: Michael Porter Jr.
41:24
Speaker 4: Is making $ 40 million to play basketball this year. And
41:34
Speaker 4: he's going to sign another contract after this for $ 200.
41:37
Speaker 1: Million, probably. Yeah. Yeah. So that's my dick about the week.
41:43
Speaker 1: You know, classic. He's really good at basketball. Classic stuff.
41:46
Speaker 1: Let's just ask him basketball questions.
41:49
Speaker 4: Agreed.
41:50
Speaker 1: I will go next. I'll just say, go ahead. Yeah. Okay.
41:56
Speaker 1: I did, though. It's a different one. It's apples and oranges. Okay. Okay.
42:05
Speaker 3: Um, I, my dookie buddy of the week is that
42:08
Speaker 3: I am currently beefing with a church, which is a
42:13
Speaker 3: new experience for me.
42:15
Speaker 1: I'm usually, oh yeah.
42:17
Speaker 3: Um, we do live across the street from a church
42:23
Speaker 3: and this church.
42:25
Speaker 1: Beef with Jesus? No. No. I wouldn't judge you. With Jesus? Damn, guys.
42:33
Speaker 1: What did they do? Or what did you do? Okay.
42:36
Speaker 3: I have not yet done what I am willing to do.
42:39
Speaker 3: And I hope they understand that I am willing to
42:41
Speaker 3: do what I said I'm willing to do.
42:43
Speaker 1: But there is a church across the street from my house.
42:46
Speaker 3: We live in like a public, like.
42:49
Speaker 1: We're in the burbs, but we're like in like a
42:52
Speaker 1: majorly traffic area.
42:53
Speaker 3: So it's like, you know, it's unhoused people and stuff
42:58
Speaker 3: like that. So this church put a security system on
43:03
Speaker 3: that is verbal.
43:06
Speaker 1: And if it says. You are trespassing on private property.
43:12
Speaker 1: You are being recorded. Please exit the premises. No, this is. Wait, wait, wait, wait.
43:19
Speaker 1: How sensitive is it, though? So like you heard this before.
43:23
Speaker 3: It says it at about 50 fucking decibels across the
43:27
Speaker 3: street from my bedroom where I sleep. And last night,
43:32
Speaker 3: it said it five times between 3 and 4 o'clock
43:35
Speaker 3: in the morning.
43:36
Speaker 1: Oh, that's crazy. No. Who was over there, though? That
43:39
Speaker 1: motherfucker was really trying to get in there. I can
43:40
Speaker 1: see over there, it was no one over there.
43:43
Speaker 3: So it was probably a fucking cat or a skunk
43:46
Speaker 3: or some shit walking through there.
43:48
Speaker 1: Oh, no.
43:49
Speaker 3: So I sent them an email, and it may not
43:51
Speaker 3: have been wise to send the email at 3.30 in
43:54
Speaker 3: the morning.
43:55
Speaker 1: But I sent them an email and said....
44:00
Speaker 3: Unless you would like this announcement to be played at
44:03
Speaker 3: your church's doors at 10 a.m. on Sunday in the
44:08
Speaker 3: middle of your service, you need to turn that shit
44:10
Speaker 3: down or turn it off. And if you think it's
44:14
Speaker 3: inappropriate to play this out loud while people are trying
44:18
Speaker 3: to do things in their place of dwelling, I agree
44:22
Speaker 3: with you, which is why I would like to be
44:24
Speaker 3: fucking asleep at three o'clock in.
44:26
Speaker 1: The morning instead of listening to You are trespassing on
44:31
Speaker 1: private property.
44:32
Speaker 2: Hey, Mike, you ain't just want to, like, have a
44:36
Speaker 2: casual conversation with him prior to.
44:38
Speaker 1: Like, coming with the smoke, nigga. Like, immediate smoke.
44:43
Speaker 2: Like, you ain't be like, that shit tweaking.
44:45
Speaker 1: Can you fix that? I clocked off work at midnight.
44:47
Speaker 1: I clocked off work at midnight.
44:49
Speaker 2: Like, can you, like, hey, yo, this shit going on, like,
44:52
Speaker 2: it's going on.
44:53
Speaker 1: Can we get a fix for this? This nigga said, look.
44:56
Speaker 1: I'm pulling up to your shit. There's no, it's like
45:02
Speaker 1: zero to a hundred.
45:03
Speaker 2: They go like, there's probably three steps in between this motherfucker.
45:06
Speaker 1: Like I'm getting this fixed today. Mike, you got to
45:11
Speaker 1: remember that.
45:13
Speaker 4: You got to remember that even, and especially security systems
45:17
Speaker 4: are heaven sent. Even security systems are heaven sent.
45:24
Speaker 1: Hey, didn't you say that shit was inhumane? I think
45:27
Speaker 1: that's when I logged on. Y'all was talking about, you
45:29
Speaker 1: said it's inhumane. I'm like, I ain't know what y'all
45:31
Speaker 1: was talking about. It's inhumane, dog. Like, there's people living here, sleeping.
45:34
Speaker 1: 3.30 in the morning. That is crazy. That really is
45:39
Speaker 1: crazy to play it that loud. If you can hear,
45:42
Speaker 1: you guys, let's across the street. No, we have double
45:45
Speaker 1: pane windows. Yeah, that's not that close. Wait, wait, wait.
45:49
Speaker 1: Did Shara wake up? Both of y'all was up on
45:50
Speaker 1: that shit? Or it just got you?
45:52
Speaker 3: What's crazy is it has woken Shara up.
45:55
Speaker 1: She is the light sleeper. I normally sleep through anything.
46:00
Speaker 3: I think I was so anxious last night because I
46:03
Speaker 3: got like four hours of sleep Friday night because we.
46:05
Speaker 1: Worked till like three.
46:07
Speaker 3: And then he had to go to that showcase shit
46:08
Speaker 3: in LA. And then after I came home from LA,
46:12
Speaker 3: from the showcase, went straight to work from like four
46:14
Speaker 3: to midnight. And in my head, I'm like, if I
46:17
Speaker 3: don't get a good night's sleep tonight, this could be.
46:19
Speaker 1: A fucked up week. It can be really rough.
46:22
Speaker 2: The people within this dwelling too, because you ain't your
46:25
Speaker 2: best self type shit.
46:26
Speaker 1: I'm not trying to go back into those trenches. Like
46:28
Speaker 1: I need to get my sleep tonight. You ain't trying
46:30
Speaker 1: to be like me, nigga. Yeah.
46:33
Speaker 2: You had your fill.
46:35
Speaker 1: You know what I mean? I respect you. You are
46:37
Speaker 1: trespassing on private property. Motherfucker. Mike was in that motherfucking toilet.
46:47
Speaker 1: I had his hell, bro. That nigga sent that email
46:51
Speaker 1: smoking hot. He probably almost broke the damn computer keys, nigga.
46:54
Speaker 1: That shit crazy. If you think it's okay. You said
47:04
Speaker 1: that shit at 345. That's crazy. I get it now.
47:08
Speaker 1: I get it now. Hopefully it's Remedy, bro, but I
47:11
Speaker 1: really will go all the way crazy with it. Have
47:13
Speaker 1: you got a response yet? Or did this happen this weekend?
47:16
Speaker 1: It happened last night. Oh, okay. So Monday, probably. Well,
47:20
Speaker 1: it's not Sunday. They working on Sunday. I don't know
47:26
Speaker 1: if the administration is working.
47:27
Speaker 2: I think there's church, but I don't think the people
47:32
Speaker 2: that run the church, they got nine to fives, nigga.
47:35
Speaker 1: Slackers. Anyway, bro, it's like... I know where their priorities are.
47:42
Speaker 1: You gotta stop. Whoa. I know where those priorities are.
47:48
Speaker 1: It's waking me up at 3.30 in the fucking morning, bro.
47:50
Speaker 1: I mean, I... Yeah, that's some bullshit. And also, like,
47:54
Speaker 1: it's hard when you already tired. And it's some bullshit.
47:58
Speaker 2: Like, I shouldn't have to deal with this shit.
48:02
Speaker 1: You know what I mean? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah.
48:04
Speaker 2: Like, they should have common sense to know this is
48:07
Speaker 2: not the way to move.
48:08
Speaker 3: Or just play it a couple times before you leave, maybe,
48:11
Speaker 3: after you activate it. See what this shit sounds like
48:14
Speaker 3: to the people who are living around you.
48:16
Speaker 1: Yeah.
48:18
Speaker 2: Does it need to be that loud for that person
48:20
Speaker 2: right in front to know that they're being recorded?
48:23
Speaker 1: You know what I mean?
48:24
Speaker 2: I don't think, you know, people across the street or
48:28
Speaker 2: in houses furthers need to hear that shit, too.
48:31
Speaker 1: Yeah. In their own homes. That's crazy. Yeah. Anyway, John,
48:36
Speaker 1: what's your do-gooder of the week? Humanity. Oh. No, for sure, bro.
48:44
Speaker 1: I called Mike. I had a.
48:45
Speaker 2: Conversation about this earlier this week.
48:48
Speaker 1: I called Rada. She was like, I'm trying to... I'm
48:51
Speaker 1: trying to care, John. I just... She was busy. She
48:55
Speaker 1: was busy. She was busy. She's like, I'm trying. I
48:57
Speaker 1: just got... She actually had to do... She had the
48:59
Speaker 1: time for me. But... So I called Mike. But... The
49:03
Speaker 1: humans have been around for 300,000 years. Yeah. Right. Dinosaurs
49:09
Speaker 1: existed for 167 million. Okay. Right. 165 million. I think actually. Yeah.
49:15
Speaker 1: I trust you on the numbers, but yeah. Yeah. Anyway,
49:17
Speaker 1: must to us 2 million anyway.
49:18
Speaker 2: So, um, we're already at the point where they're already
49:23
Speaker 2: talking about our demise and we clown dinosaurs for how
49:26
Speaker 2: stupid they are. We might go out in the dumbest
49:29
Speaker 2: way possible, which is at our own due.
49:32
Speaker 1: To our own decision-making.
49:34
Speaker 2: We're supposed to be the most brilliant beings or species
49:38
Speaker 2: has ever existed on the planet. We've been here like
49:41
Speaker 2: a blip compared to what we, the people, the species
49:46
Speaker 2: we make fun of for how stupid they were. They
49:48
Speaker 2: had brains like chickens. Nigga, they were here 167 million years.
49:51
Speaker 2: We've been here 300,000 and now it's a trillion fucking,
49:56
Speaker 2: we can, it's 27 degrees hotter in Paris than it
49:59
Speaker 2: was the year before.
50:01
Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying?
50:02
Speaker 2: Like it's, it's 90 degrees, it's 60% humidity in LA
50:07
Speaker 2: right now.
50:08
Speaker 1: You feel me?
50:08
Speaker 2: Like, we're fucking up our planet and it's hard to
50:11
Speaker 2: get people to make decisions to go the right way. Like,
50:15
Speaker 2: and we're supposed to be so fucking brilliant. And if there,
50:19
Speaker 2: if there's another species that makes it to where we're
50:22
Speaker 2: at and, and realizes like that humans existed, you feel
50:28
Speaker 2: on this planet, they will, after we're not here, they
50:31
Speaker 2: will clown the fuck out of us. It's just so
50:34
Speaker 2: interesting to me that, We're so smart. We're in comparison
50:38
Speaker 2: to other species. And our intelligence is what is, will
50:44
Speaker 2: be the reason we get about this motherfucker.
50:47
Speaker 1: Like, and I just think like I was talking to
50:49
Speaker 1: Mike about this.
50:50
Speaker 2: Why aren't people like, why is this not the biggest
50:55
Speaker 2: fucking deal to everybody? Like why it's, it's many people
51:00
Speaker 2: are just somewhat like lying.
51:02
Speaker 1: Like it's, it's.
51:04
Speaker 3: 90 everyone everyone is lying to themselves to some extent.
51:09
Speaker 2: To some extent because like me including you including for
51:12
Speaker 2: sure for sure for sure if i really thought about
51:14
Speaker 2: this too much i couldn't go to work tomorrow yeah
51:18
Speaker 2: you know i mean it'd be hard to do the
51:19
Speaker 2: normal things like you know i mean like if i
51:21
Speaker 2: thought about it too much but it's just truly insane
51:25
Speaker 2: that it's not a bigger deal to everybody maybe because
51:28
Speaker 2: it's just you know it's It's hard for us to
51:30
Speaker 2: fathom or if we were to really think about it,
51:32
Speaker 2: we wouldn't be able to do regular shit.
51:34
Speaker 1: But gee, like this. I just I just don't understand
51:39
Speaker 1: why it's not the biggest deal in the world right now.
51:41
Speaker 1: But I think so.
51:43
Speaker 3: You and I talked about a couple of things, one
51:44
Speaker 3: being that like the way our brains all work. And
51:49
Speaker 3: it's the same thing if you're writing about budget cuts.
51:51
Speaker 3: No one gives a fuck about budget cuts. If you
51:53
Speaker 3: say someone's library is going to be closed two hours
51:55
Speaker 3: a day.
51:56
Speaker 1: Now, a lot of people care. It's too big of
51:58
Speaker 1: an issue for us to wrap our head around.
52:01
Speaker 3: So I feel like, you know, Jackson was just talking about, like,
52:07
Speaker 3: you know, tropical storms, like. weather events people care about
52:10
Speaker 3: enormously you look at that horrible shit that happened in
52:12
Speaker 3: nepal like that's a climate change event yeah people see
52:16
Speaker 3: that video and it's all they could think about is
52:17
Speaker 3: so horrible but you don't connect it to particles in
52:22
Speaker 3: the air you don't connect it to the the bigger
52:25
Speaker 3: the bigger storyline and i do think that part of
52:27
Speaker 3: that is evolutionary of like we are still animals and
52:31
Speaker 3: the function of our brains getting bigger is to figure out.
52:34
Speaker 1: How to get food for the day Right, right.
52:37
Speaker 2: To get better at that, not necessarily get better at
52:39
Speaker 2: solving global issues that are dealing with, you know.
52:44
Speaker 3: So immediate concern versus global concern. And I just think
52:49
Speaker 3: that's the challenge of it. But I also think that's
52:51
Speaker 3: why you had this. experience that everyone had.
52:56
Speaker 1: Who is alive like we were.
52:58
Speaker 3: And sentient when the internet came into being that all
53:00
Speaker 3: of a sudden you started seeing all the individual horrible
53:03
Speaker 3: things that were happening at once instead of the stuff
53:07
Speaker 3: that got filmed and put on the news in your
53:10
Speaker 3: city or whatever and it was just like someone was
53:14
Speaker 3: smashing your brain with a sledgehammer or something right like Yeah,
53:18
Speaker 3: but I just, I think we're not equipped to deal
53:21
Speaker 3: with the size of the problem.
53:23
Speaker 1: But I just feel at this point, like, we all
53:26
Speaker 1: are experiencing global warming. We're not, it's not a conversation. Like,
53:30
Speaker 1: you know what I mean? Like, we're experiencing it.
53:32
Speaker 2: Like, we're walking out and we can't deny, like, even
53:36
Speaker 2: if you are lying to yourself, saying it's a hoax,
53:38
Speaker 2: you can't lie and say.
53:40
Speaker 1: It's not supposed to be this hot in August. Like,
53:46
Speaker 1: you know, like, you feel me? Like, you can't, And
53:49
Speaker 1: it's not just.
53:52
Speaker 2: The weather in itself is more unpredictable, which is part
53:56
Speaker 2: of it as well, where it'll snow in weird times.
54:00
Speaker 1: You know what I mean?
54:01
Speaker 2: You can't deny that the climate is much different than
54:05
Speaker 2: it was 20, 30 years ago.
54:08
Speaker 1: Even if you're not watching.
54:10
Speaker 2: documentaries on the polar caps.
54:11
Speaker 1: You know what I mean? And you're not, you know,
54:13
Speaker 1: paying attention to that.
54:14
Speaker 2: Like you go outside and it feels like it's, it's
54:18
Speaker 2: more humid than Florida and California and LA.
54:22
Speaker 3: LA was the most humid part of the United States
54:24
Speaker 3: of America. I don't know that that's ever happened.
54:28
Speaker 2: The Pacific is so warm that like, great whites or like,
54:33
Speaker 2: you know, that was not, the water was 80 degrees.
54:36
Speaker 3: The water was 80 degrees.
54:37
Speaker 1: Like, you know what I'm saying? Like the Pacific ocean
54:40
Speaker 1: was 80 degrees. That's not normal. That's never been normal. Like,
54:44
Speaker 1: you know what I mean?
54:45
Speaker 2: So it's just, you can't, you can, you can only
54:49
Speaker 2: lie to yourself so much, you know, at this point.
54:52
Speaker 2: And it's just so crazy how we just refuse to.
54:56
Speaker 1: You know, I don't know.
54:57
Speaker 2: It should be the most important thing on everybody's mind
54:59
Speaker 2: to me.
55:01
Speaker 1: Um, and it's just, it's just not, you know? Yep.
55:04
Speaker 3: Yeah.
55:05
Speaker 2: And I, like we were talking about too, like we're
55:07
Speaker 2: the people who are at least in this, you know,
55:10
Speaker 2: regime or whatever you want to call Trump and his,
55:12
Speaker 2: you know, cronies and all that bullshit. It feels like
55:15
Speaker 2: we really, it's like the government is supposed to be
55:17
Speaker 2: doing things to handle that. And we can't, they're too
55:20
Speaker 2: powerful for us to just like, you know, we, we can't, we, I, I,
55:25
Speaker 2: I would understand at this point feeling like, you know,
55:28
Speaker 2: with them in power, feeling a little, like, you know, helpless.
55:31
Speaker 1: You know what I mean? But it's a global issue.
55:33
Speaker 1: It's not just United States. So anyway. All right.
55:37
Speaker 3: Shout out to my beautiful wife who's not going to
55:40
Speaker 3: listen to this podcast. If you're listening to this on Monday,
55:42
Speaker 3: it is our 19th wedding anniversary, which is some crazy shit.
55:47
Speaker 1: 24 years. Big congrats. Big congrats. 24 years together, 19
55:51
Speaker 1: years married, you know? So.
55:52
Speaker 4: Fuck.
55:52
Speaker 1: Jesus, bro. Fuck with it. Fuck with it. You know?
56:00
Speaker 1: So you've been at this point, y'all been married longer
56:03
Speaker 1: than y'all. Like, so y'all been married long. We started
56:07
Speaker 1: dating when we were 18 and we've been there.
56:09
Speaker 3: Yeah.
56:10
Speaker 1: Crazy. Whoa. Yeah. It's great. I don't know.
56:15
Speaker 3: Like the, the bigger that number gets, the weird, it
56:18
Speaker 3: seems to, it's just.
56:19
Speaker 1: Like, well, I don't know. It's crazy. Cool. Beautiful. I
56:24
Speaker 1: think we're taking our kids out to dinner. Is that
56:28
Speaker 1: all y'all? All y'all? Yeah, we're just going to go
56:30
Speaker 1: out and have a good night. Come on.
56:32
Speaker 3: We were watching Stranger Things with the kids. Come home
56:34
Speaker 3: and start the fifth season.
56:36
Speaker 1: Are y'all planning on doing something big for 20? I
56:40
Speaker 1: think so. Okay.
56:42
Speaker 3: Yeah, I think so. So August 24th was like our
56:48
Speaker 3: first date. So we always just try to do something
56:50
Speaker 3: between the 24th and the 31st.
56:52
Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah. Because with our jobs, with her.
56:54
Speaker 3: Starting school, football season starting for me, it's always kind
56:57
Speaker 3: of like whenever we can make a shake, but we,
56:59
Speaker 3: we did for the, it was, that was our first
57:02
Speaker 3: night away from the kids for our, whatever the previous
57:06
Speaker 3: one was 15th and 20th or something. We w we
57:09
Speaker 3: went to San Diego for a weekend and, uh, left,
57:12
Speaker 3: left the kids. Char's mom came over and stayed with
57:14
Speaker 3: the kids.
57:15
Speaker 1: We don't got nowhere. We could drop them off. So, uh, yeah,
57:17
Speaker 1: that was cool. It was cool. So I don't know.
57:19
Speaker 1: We'll do something. August 24th. Like what? Like you just
57:22
Speaker 1: remember that because it was Char or like, is there
57:25
Speaker 1: just something happening? It was just our first date. Do
57:28
Speaker 1: you remember y'all first date, Jackson? Am I tripping? Well,
57:30
Speaker 1: I remember when we met. I also, I also, I
57:33
Speaker 1: don't remember like the date.
57:34
Speaker 3: I also, I also proposed on that, because we celebrated
57:39
Speaker 3: our dating anniversary.
57:40
Speaker 1: So I proposed on that day and then we got
57:43
Speaker 1: married the 31st.
57:44
Speaker 4: Yeah, I can tell you when Kim and I met
57:46
Speaker 4: at a Halloween party that we were hosting and then
57:48
Speaker 4: we officially started dating, like became officially together on the
57:53
Speaker 4: following January 1st, two months later.
57:55
Speaker 2: I just remember moments.
57:56
Speaker 1: I don't remember like... I don't remember dates at all.
58:00
Speaker 1: Other than like the anniversary. I don't remember like... The
58:02
Speaker 1: wedding anniversary? Yeah, the wedding anniversary. I've talked about this though.
58:05
Speaker 1: You guys go by wedding anniversary? Mike? Yeah, yeah. We
58:09
Speaker 1: just have that week. It's like the 24th through the 31st.
58:12
Speaker 3: And it's just like whatever makes sense in our current
58:15
Speaker 3: lives to do, we do it.
58:16
Speaker 1: And I keep both numbers. But we were.
58:19
Speaker 3: I mean, I told Shaw I loved her on our
58:21
Speaker 3: third date. And I proposed to her three years after
58:24
Speaker 3: we started dating.
58:24
Speaker 1: So like... It was... I don't know. It wasn't like
58:29
Speaker 1: it is now.
58:30
Speaker 3: I was just trying to explain the talking stage to
58:34
Speaker 3: my mom. You know, like we have, Char and I
58:37
Speaker 3: know kids where they refer to people as their ex
58:39
Speaker 3: talking stage.
58:40
Speaker 4: Nice.
58:41
Speaker 3: And you're just like, you know, this is my mom
58:42
Speaker 3: is like, I'm glad I'm not raising kids right now.
58:45
Speaker 3: Like it's complicated as shit. I was like, for me,
58:47
Speaker 3: we went on our first date and I was like, cool.
58:49
Speaker 3: And I think I told her a third or fourth date.
58:51
Speaker 3: I was like, if you ever get sick of me,
58:53
Speaker 3: you are going to have to be the one Don't
58:56
Speaker 3: do that shit where you try and like run me off.
58:58
Speaker 1: I'm not going. You got me.
59:03
Speaker 3: You will have to say, I don't want you around anymore.
59:07
Speaker 1: You know what I mean? So, yeah. So to me-
59:09
Speaker 1: that's why that date was significant. For sure, for sure. Yeah, okay, cool.
59:13
Speaker 1: That makes sense.
59:14
Speaker 2: I think, like, when I didn't understand shit, people were like, yeah,
59:17
Speaker 2: we're hooking up.
59:18
Speaker 1: I was like, does that mean you're talking, fucking?
59:21
Speaker 2: Like, that's when shit started getting confusing to me.
59:24
Speaker 1: Like, what are y'all? Maybe that's some white people shit.
59:25
Speaker 1: Maybe that's what I don't understand. It's intentionally ambiguous, I think. Yeah, okay. So, yeah, okay. Okay.
59:30
Speaker 1: You were hooking him like, I don't know what's going on.
59:33
Speaker 1: It's like when you don't really want to, you're not.
59:35
Speaker 4: Sure, but you want to tell people that you kind
59:38
Speaker 4: of got something going on.
59:39
Speaker 3: I was very unambiguous about that shit, especially because we
59:42
Speaker 3: were long distance while we were in college.
59:44
Speaker 1: Not that long distance. Not everyone's as sure as me. Bro,
59:46
Speaker 1: you were in Long Beach. She was in LA, dog.
59:48
Speaker 1: It's medium distance for sure. It's medium distance for sure. No,
59:51
Speaker 1: that was.
59:53
Speaker 3: That was a tough four years for us, brother, especially
59:55
Speaker 3: she didn't have a car.
59:55
Speaker 1: So it was, I was, hey, John.
59:58
Speaker 5: Your ass on the road though, right? You was hitting
1:00:00
Speaker 5: that road, brother. You feel me? I was just telling
1:00:04
Speaker 5: a young person who worked for us. I was calling
1:00:07
Speaker 5: her dorm room landline from the pay phone by class
1:00:12
Speaker 5: is how long ago we started dating.
1:00:16
Speaker 1: Using a fucking....
1:00:19
Speaker 3: Minutes card that I stole from the student store.
1:00:25
Speaker 1: That's so fire though. Remember when you left the house
1:00:29
Speaker 1: and you was gone, bro, you had to catch somebody.
1:00:32
Speaker 1: I remember leaving long beach to go to LA to go.
1:00:36
Speaker 1: You never had experienced that. Everybody has cell phones when
1:00:39
Speaker 1: you were.
1:00:40
Speaker 4: It wasn't smartphones, but by the time that I had
1:00:42
Speaker 4: my license, like before that, sure. But by the time
1:00:44
Speaker 4: that I had like actual personal freedom, I could drive.
1:00:47
Speaker 4: I had my license and, Everyone had a cell phone,
1:00:49
Speaker 4: not a smartphone. I don't think at that point, but
1:00:50
Speaker 4: a cell phone. Yeah.
1:00:52
Speaker 3: We had pay to text. So we would send each
1:00:54
Speaker 3: other like the 700. That was the first year we
1:00:56
Speaker 3: got Virgin mobile pay to text. I think our third
1:00:58
Speaker 3: year of college, something like that. We would send that
1:01:01
Speaker 3: text was like, yeah, fucking essay.
1:01:06
Speaker 1: This shit could cost me 10 cents, bro. I'm getting it.
1:01:08
Speaker 1: I'm getting it. I'm getting the full value of this text.
1:01:12
Speaker 1: We got to make the whole plan in two texts. Yo,
1:01:17
Speaker 1: that's crazy. Is the parking spot of the apartment going
1:01:20
Speaker 1: to be there? If not, let me know and I
1:01:22
Speaker 1: will do this. I'm thinking for dinner we can do this.
1:01:27
Speaker 1: On the touch phone. The plane and the backup plane.
1:01:30
Speaker 1: Three times to get to L. That's crazy. All right.
1:01:34
Speaker 3: That's all the time we got. We'll be back with
1:01:36
Speaker 3: a couple episodes this week. We don't have the schedule
1:01:38
Speaker 3: just yet, but we will see y'all then. Hope everyone
1:01:41
Speaker 3: has a great start to their week.
1:01:42
Speaker 1: Bye.
1:01:43
Speaker 3: Bye.
1:01:43
Speaker 1: Bye.
