- 0:00Speaker 1: It's more more. Markimone on sevent ten warn hey, the
- 0:08Speaker 1: great economics Steve Moore. Of course you see him all
- 0:11Speaker 1: over television, you read his columns. Make sure you get
- 0:14Speaker 1: his book, The Trump Economic Miracle, and also you should
- 0:18Speaker 1: sign up. He runs the Committee to Unleashed Prosperity. They
- 0:22Speaker 1: put out the best daily briefing, news analysis, great stories
- 0:25Speaker 1: every day. It's free. It'll come write to your email.
- 0:28Speaker 1: Just go to Unleashed Prosperity dot com. Unleash Prosperity dot com.
- 0:33Speaker 1: Steve Moore, how are you doing.
- 0:36Speaker 2: I'm Mark doing well. Thank you very much, and thank god.
- 0:39Speaker 2: We've got a president in office who's drill, baby, drill,
- 0:42Speaker 2: So we're holding the uh underdy prices down below, you know, remembers, Oh,
- 0:47Speaker 2: it's gonna be a hundred dollars a mineral of Trump.
- 0:49Speaker 2: You know, does any action in the Middle East, And
- 0:52Speaker 2: that hasn't happened because we're producing so much oil and
- 0:54Speaker 2: gas here at home. We're no longer I just wrote
- 0:58Speaker 2: a column on this, we're no longer highly reliant on
- 1:01Speaker 2: Middle East oil because we're the number one producer in
- 1:03Speaker 2: the world. So that's in large part because of obviously
- 1:07Speaker 2: the incredible shale revolution we had in Oklahoma and Texas
- 1:11Speaker 2: and North Dakota. But also because Trump, you know, said,
- 1:14Speaker 2: you know, go out there and get it. And that's
- 1:16Speaker 2: made a big difference. And that's one of the reasons, folks,
- 1:19Speaker 2: even though great gas places are up, they're not up
- 1:22Speaker 2: nearly as much as people thought they would be.
- 1:24Speaker 1: Yeah, we get a little spike, but what about his
- 1:26Speaker 1: idea of having a gas tax holiday during the little
- 1:30Speaker 1: spike and Democrats opposing.
- 1:32Speaker 2: It, Well, that tells you a lot about you know,
- 1:37Speaker 2: they are so thirsty for tax revelues. They don't want
- 1:40Speaker 2: to cut anybody's taxes anywhere anytime. But listen, I think
- 1:45Speaker 2: that we have we are so bountiful in our oil
- 1:50Speaker 2: and gas in this country, and the technology keeps getting
- 1:53Speaker 2: better and better. You know, I'm old enough to remember, Mark,
- 1:57Speaker 2: I think I'm a little older than you. You know,
- 1:58Speaker 2: in the late seventies. I remember when I was a
- 2:00Speaker 2: young teenager and we'd have to get up every morning.
- 2:03Speaker 2: We'd have to, you know, take the station wagon, the
- 2:05Speaker 2: old station wagon, over to the gas pump and would
- 2:07Speaker 2: be fifteenth in line, you know, because there were gas
- 2:10Speaker 2: lines back then, and you know, the Saudi's and the
- 2:12Speaker 2: old PEC countries had a blade at our neck, and
- 2:16Speaker 2: thanks to Trump's drow baby drill strategy, they no longer
- 2:18Speaker 2: have that power over us. So the will's a different place,
- 2:22Speaker 2: in a safer place and a more affordable place because
- 2:25Speaker 2: of these policies. I don't understand why Biden. Biden says
- 2:29Speaker 2: zero fossil fuels, run FRUS. We're not going to present
- 2:32Speaker 2: any oil gas call or anything. How done was that?
- 2:34Speaker 2: You think you think we could? We could, you know,
- 2:37Speaker 2: find finance and power our thirty five trillion dollar economy
- 2:42Speaker 2: with windmills and switch grass, I mean stupid?
- 2:45Speaker 1: Yeah, hey, And under Trump there was a moment where
- 2:49Speaker 1: all of a sudden, we were the number one oil producer.
- 2:52Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, we were the Saudi Arabia all of a sudden, So.
- 2:56Speaker 2: Yeah, exactly. In fact, I wrote a very famous piece
- 2:59Speaker 2: in the Journal I think this is about twelve years
- 3:02Speaker 2: ago or so, and losing track of them, about twelve thirteen,
- 3:04Speaker 2: fourteen years ago, about this guy Harold Ham, who is
- 3:08Speaker 2: the was one of the inventors of modern day you know,
- 3:12Speaker 2: shale drilling, And the name of the article in the
- 3:16Speaker 2: Wall Street Journal was Saudi America and that's what we've
- 3:19Speaker 2: really turned into. And it's all because of these amazing
- 3:23Speaker 2: pioneers in the oil and gas industry. And then you know,
- 3:26Speaker 2: we should also be we should be building about fifty
- 3:29Speaker 2: nuclear plants the demand. I don't know if you saw yesterday,
- 3:32Speaker 2: but Trump got a deal with the big tech execs
- 3:35Speaker 2: that they will, you know, if they're going to use
- 3:37Speaker 2: a lot of the energy, they're going to have to
- 3:39Speaker 2: pay for it, and they're going to have to supply it,
- 3:41Speaker 2: and they want to do that. But he saw Bill
- 3:44Speaker 2: Gates Microsoft. You know, he's reopening the three Mile Island
- 3:48Speaker 2: nuclear plant. So why not use nuclear power? It's one
- 3:51Speaker 2: of the most efficient forms of energy. It doesn't emit
- 3:53Speaker 2: any greenhouse gases. I mean, why are is the left
- 3:56Speaker 2: against that? Yeah?
- 3:57Speaker 1: It's most countries use new clear but France is twenty
- 4:01Speaker 1: five percent nuclear power.
- 4:02Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 4:03Speaker 1: The only concern was those used rods coming out of it.
- 4:07Speaker 1: But there's technology now to make that safe to do.
- 4:09Speaker 2: Yeah, the technology is so much better. And also we
- 4:11Speaker 2: have what we call the micro plants, so they're not
- 4:15Speaker 2: these gigantic massive uh you know, the plants that provide
- 4:19Speaker 2: you know, the electric power for four million people. Maybe
- 4:23Speaker 2: you know, a little smaller modules that can you know,
- 4:27Speaker 2: help provide the electric power for a community with maybe
- 4:30Speaker 2: one hundred and fifty thousand people, and that that is
- 4:32Speaker 2: a much safer, it's much more efficient, and we should
- 4:36Speaker 2: be building we should be building hundreds of these smaller
- 4:39Speaker 2: nuclear plants. And again they're safe and they're they're clean burning. Yeah.
- 4:44Speaker 1: Now, the reason we need this I don't quite understand this,
- 4:46Speaker 1: but for some reason AI uses more electricity, more energy
- 4:51Speaker 1: than we have.
- 4:52Speaker 2: So yeah, yeah, we have. We just had something in
- 4:55Speaker 2: our outline this morning about that market. You may not
- 4:58Speaker 2: have received the year. We just sent it out. Yeah,
- 5:01Speaker 2: double double, the quadruple the amount of energy needs over
- 5:06Speaker 2: the next uh you know, seven years, seven or eight years,
- 5:09Speaker 2: and so we're going to need a lot more energy
- 5:12Speaker 2: to to for the data centers, for the AI, for
- 5:15Speaker 2: the robotics that new the new you know, uh generation
- 5:20Speaker 2: of technology. And you know, one of the points I
- 5:22Speaker 2: think people have to realize is it's a race right
- 5:25Speaker 2: now between the United States and China to see who
- 5:28Speaker 2: will lead the world. And that we led the world
- 5:30Speaker 2: in the Internet revolution with great companies like Google and
- 5:33Speaker 2: Amazon and Apple and Nvidia and Microsoft et cetera. We
- 5:37Speaker 2: need to make sure we do the same with the
- 5:40Speaker 2: when it comes to robotics, AI, satellite technology, all this stuff,
- 5:44Speaker 2: but it uses a lot of energy.
- 5:46Speaker 1: Yeah, hey, I read the hotline every day. The Committee
- 5:49Speaker 1: to Unleashed Prosperity puts this out. You should subscribe to it.
- 5:52Speaker 1: It comes right to your emails free. It's great stuff
- 5:54Speaker 1: and I'm reading it today and turns out who else
- 5:57Speaker 1: was reading it every day. Lou Holtz.
- 6:00Speaker 2: Yeah, I love Lou Holtz. And you know, he, of course,
- 6:03Speaker 2: was the famous Notre Dame coach who won a national
- 6:07Speaker 2: championship in nineteen eighty eight for the football, of course,
- 6:10Speaker 2: and was a hell of a guy. I mean, I
- 6:12Speaker 2: got to know him really well. He won the President
- 6:15Speaker 2: Trump gave him the Presidential Metal Freedom. He was incredibly inspirational.
- 6:20Speaker 2: He really helped so many young He turned boys into
- 6:23Speaker 2: men and was an amazing force. And I every time
- 6:27Speaker 2: I saw him, he was so inspirational, and he was
- 6:29Speaker 2: humble and had a great sense of humor. Died at
- 6:32Speaker 2: the age of eighty nine, but he really you know,
- 6:35Speaker 2: I feel very proud to have been able to call
- 6:37Speaker 2: hu Holt's up front.
- 6:38Speaker 1: Yeah, great guy. Hey, California. I love this article today
- 6:42Speaker 1: because Gavin Newsom obviously's running for president. How does he
- 6:45Speaker 1: explain completely bundling up the whole transit system of California.
- 6:51Speaker 2: Well, this has been going on. He can't really displame
- 6:53Speaker 2: it on Gavin Newsom. I mean, it's been going on
- 6:55Speaker 2: for thirty years. They keeps talking about how they're going
- 6:57Speaker 2: to build all these transit systems. And you know, anybody
- 7:00Speaker 2: east in to La knows that people in La like
- 7:02Speaker 2: to drive their car. They don't want they don't want
- 7:05Speaker 2: to go into a subway. And so they have, you know,
- 7:08Speaker 2: they've built these trains and these and then they had
- 7:10Speaker 2: the train to nowhere where they're going to build for
- 7:12Speaker 2: thirty five billion dollars a train from Los Angeles to
- 7:16Speaker 2: San Francisco, which is a good idea, except they couldn't
- 7:18Speaker 2: do it, and so instead it's costing thirty five billion.
- 7:21Speaker 2: It was going to cost one hundred and thirty billion dollars. Whoops,
- 7:24Speaker 2: we missed it a little bit, and it wasn't going
- 7:26Speaker 2: to go to Los Angeles and it wasn't going to
- 7:28Speaker 2: start at San Francisco. So but now they're trying to
- 7:31Speaker 2: build one of those people movers at the airport because
- 7:34Speaker 2: they have the Olympics coming in, they got the Super
- 7:36Speaker 2: Bowl next year to Da DA and they just can't
- 7:38Speaker 2: get the thing literally and figuratively off the ground. And
- 7:41Speaker 2: that's the incompetence of what goes on in California. By
- 7:45Speaker 2: the way, anybody's flown in, I don't know if you've
- 7:47Speaker 2: recently flown into Lax, but it is the biggest nightmare
- 7:51Speaker 2: getting in and out of that airport. Takes an hour
- 7:54Speaker 2: at least just to get out of the airport because
- 7:56Speaker 2: of all the traffic. And they tried to have the
- 7:58Speaker 2: people mover, but it hasn't It hasn't moved any people.
- 8:01Speaker 1: How a people mover?
- 8:03Speaker 2: How hard is that?
- 8:04Speaker 1: It's just like a belt right, Yeah.
- 8:07Speaker 2: I don't know. You'd have to back question why can't
- 8:10Speaker 2: they get this thing, doune because they also have the
- 8:12Speaker 2: World Cup coming I mean, so that was a lot
- 8:15Speaker 2: of this was contingent on, Okay, get this people mover
- 8:17Speaker 2: to work, and it's they you know, it's cost overruns
- 8:20Speaker 2: and I mean my guide California makes New York look
- 8:22Speaker 2: well run.
- 8:24Speaker 1: Yeah, you know, and at Las Vegas and the Belage.
- 8:26Speaker 1: If they wanted a people mover. It'd be there in
- 8:28Speaker 1: three days, it'd be installed exactly.
- 8:32Speaker 2: Well, maybe you know you have that's the difference frankly
- 8:35Speaker 2: between private sector financed in public sector financed infrastructure. It
- 8:39Speaker 2: really is. And you know the the we have an
- 8:42Speaker 2: The other point that you know, I wanted to make
- 8:44Speaker 2: you is we've got an incredible investment boom going on
- 8:47Speaker 2: right now. Two hundred billion dollars just in the last
- 8:49Speaker 2: month going into AI, robotics, satellite tech, all these new
- 8:54Speaker 2: technologies were really blowing away the rest of the world.
- 8:57Speaker 2: About eighty percent of the new investment is happening you're
- 9:00Speaker 2: in the USA. But that's an example private investment. You know,
- 9:05Speaker 2: the Gleft likes to talk about public investment, but my gosh,
- 9:08Speaker 2: they can't. A lot of these people like Gavin Newsom
- 9:10Speaker 2: couldn't and by the way, Mondamini, for that matter, couldn't
- 9:12Speaker 2: run a three car parade.
- 9:14Speaker 1: Well, Steve Moore, always great having you on. Excellent stuff. Now,
- 9:18Speaker 1: everybody subscribe the daily newsletter, the Briefing, News Analysis. You'll
- 9:23Speaker 1: love it. It's it's called the Hotline. But just go
