- 0:09Speaker 2: back when I was still Zach Ryder, myself and Brian
- 0:13Speaker 2: Myers fka Kirk Hopkins, we sat down and interviewed mister
- 0:18Speaker 2: John Moxley fka Dean Ambrose.
- 0:22Speaker 3: So check out this interviewer.
- 0:24Speaker 4: Maybe we'll boot again soon.
- 0:26Speaker 5: Yeah, here's something resting Ben your podcast us on the show,
- 0:32Speaker 5: fucking designed Booty.
- 0:40Speaker 4: What you say, march right.
- 0:43Speaker 6: Up the show, love Jo.
- 0:46Speaker 7: All right, welcome back to the Major Wrestling Figure Podcast.
- 0:49Speaker 7: We're here with our very special guests for the day. One,
- 0:53Speaker 7: mister Dean Ambrose aka John Moxley aka Jonathan Good.
- 0:57Speaker 4: I'm here on the toy Cast.
- 0:58Speaker 1: Baby. We use real names on it, so it's all good.
- 1:00Speaker 6: Yeah, it's kind of confusing. Sometimes we call each other
- 1:02Speaker 6: the wrong names.
- 1:03Speaker 1: That's fine.
- 1:04Speaker 5: I have decided I've been John most of my whole
- 1:07Speaker 5: life because people just it's easier.
- 1:09Speaker 4: When I was a little kid, people just my name
- 1:11Speaker 4: is Jonathan. They just go John. So I just got
- 1:13Speaker 4: used to it.
- 1:15Speaker 5: Now that I'm getting older and a little more grizzled
- 1:17Speaker 5: and uh, what's the word like a tom Selleck.
- 1:21Speaker 4: You know that old Yeah, yeah, well I feel old. Yeah,
- 1:27Speaker 4: I'm getting a little older.
- 1:28Speaker 5: I I'm embracing going by Jonathan, you.
- 1:31Speaker 1: Know, nophisticated. That's kind of sophisticated.
- 1:33Speaker 5: You know, I might start, you know, wearing like brown
- 1:36Speaker 5: dress shoes and call myself Jonathan.
- 1:38Speaker 1: Real different.
- 1:40Speaker 7: First things first, I might be messing the story up.
- 1:43Speaker 7: But I remember a couple of weeks ago, in like
- 1:45Speaker 7: Argentina or something, me and Slater were yapping about this
- 1:48Speaker 7: podcast in the locker room and you said, what you
- 1:50Speaker 7: have a toy podcast?
- 1:51Speaker 1: Said yeah, you want to come on?
- 1:52Speaker 7: And you wrote you said no, right, well, and don't
- 1:57Speaker 7: worry about curses are cruc will bleep about.
- 1:59Speaker 5: When you feel so of a podcast it's all about
- 2:02Speaker 5: wrestling figures. I'm like, how how much is there to
- 2:06Speaker 5: talk about wrestling figures?
- 2:08Speaker 2: You know?
- 2:08Speaker 5: Then I thought about it more and more and I
- 2:10Speaker 5: was talking with writer here about you know, I remember
- 2:12Speaker 5: my first action figure. It was a one of the Bushwhackers.
- 2:16Speaker 5: I'm not sure which one because it was the only
- 2:18Speaker 5: one they had at the store, and one half of
- 2:19Speaker 5: the Headshrinkers, I'm also sure. And then we started talking
- 2:23Speaker 5: about it, and then I got all my eyes all
- 2:25Speaker 5: got all bright and stuff, and then I started thinking,
- 2:27Speaker 5: you know, I it's easy to forget that you love wrestling,
- 2:32Speaker 5: right and while you started loving wrestling in the first place,
- 2:34Speaker 5: and it brought me back to my.
- 2:35Speaker 4: Childhood and just my I love wrestling and I like
- 2:38Speaker 4: you guys, And I said, you know, I'm putt my
- 2:39Speaker 4: money while I'm out there coming on.
- 2:43Speaker 2: Show.
- 2:43Speaker 7: So literally, that's kind of like that, those good sentimental feelings,
- 2:48Speaker 7: I think is more than half of what this podcast
- 2:50Speaker 7: is all about.
- 2:51Speaker 3: Yeah, because when we first started this, like you said,
- 2:52Speaker 3: people are like, what are they going to talk about?
- 2:54Speaker 3: Why would I listen to a podcast about toys? And
- 2:56Speaker 3: all these people now are like, oh my god, I
- 2:58Speaker 3: had this, I had that, I remember my child and
- 3:00Speaker 3: now they're.
- 3:00Speaker 6: Rebuying the figures.
- 3:02Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 3:02Speaker 3: I'm not saying you're gonna go out re buy some figures.
- 3:04Speaker 3: Maybe you will, maybe I'll scratch that figure at you.
- 3:06Speaker 5: You know, I'm not haven't really been a toy guy
- 3:09Speaker 5: as an adult, but as a kid, I traded and
- 3:12Speaker 5: borrowed and bartered for all the figures. Trade is where
- 3:17Speaker 5: I get a little that that I don't get is
- 3:20Speaker 5: that people want to keep them in the package.
- 3:23Speaker 1: We let them.
- 3:24Speaker 7: We're all about that on the show. We talk about
- 3:26Speaker 7: letting him bathe and means get him out of the box.
- 3:27Speaker 7: They're meant to be, meant to be enjoyed.
- 3:30Speaker 5: I agree, because if a wrestling figure, if you look
- 3:32Speaker 5: at it like a sculpture, like a work of art,
- 3:34Speaker 5: especially some of the real detailed, fancy ones, you wouldn't
- 3:37Speaker 5: keep it a sculpture in a package.
- 3:40Speaker 4: You gotta put you gotta put it in three D.
- 3:42Speaker 4: Yeah right, so sense to me.
- 3:45Speaker 7: Bushwhack, one bushwhacker and one head trigger, which is those
- 3:48Speaker 7: are has bros.
- 3:49Speaker 1: I don't know, are you? How good are you? One?
- 3:50Speaker 1: Like the lingo of the history of wrestling figures makes
- 3:54Speaker 1: and things like that.
- 3:55Speaker 4: None, I know that they were about yeah big, I
- 3:59Speaker 4: know that he did the bushwhacker thing with.
- 4:01Speaker 6: His arms, so that's a butch.
- 4:02Speaker 1: He had a butch.
- 4:03Speaker 4: But yeah, Okay, the mystery is solved with the hat.
- 4:07Speaker 1: The head triggers would be a little hard to decide
- 4:08Speaker 1: because they did the same thing.
- 4:10Speaker 6: Well then they flip flopped.
- 4:11Speaker 3: So he saw it with the blue card ones where
- 4:12Speaker 3: it's totally with one of the headshrinkers. Yeah, that's that
- 4:15Speaker 3: was a great set, and I.
- 4:16Speaker 5: Believe the Headshrinker was like his feet were stuck together
- 4:19Speaker 5: like a dolphin and he pressed down on his back
- 4:21Speaker 5: and jump jump.
- 4:22Speaker 1: Those were referred to as jumpers. They would jump and whatever.
- 4:25Speaker 4: I had a Ultimate Warrior that did the same thing.
- 4:27Speaker 6: Juri's water Jumper, a great classic one.
- 4:29Speaker 4: Actually, I thought about this too.
- 4:31Speaker 5: I was first introduced to WCW just through toys because uh,
- 4:37Speaker 5: the first wrestling I ever saw was w W, and uh,
- 4:40Speaker 5: I was not exposed. So now I'm a huge fan
- 4:43Speaker 5: of like eighties U NWA and so forth, and I'd
- 4:48Speaker 5: never seen WCW or NWA. This is maybe like six
- 4:51Speaker 5: years old, so this is like, you know, early nineties WCW.
- 4:54Speaker 5: But a friend of mine had his figures and we
- 4:56Speaker 5: were playing and he had like a sting right that was.
- 4:59Speaker 4: Like I believe it was all just solid.
- 5:01Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 5:01Speaker 4: Yeah, he had like a sting and a Rick Flair
- 5:03Speaker 4: with like powder blue tights.
- 5:05Speaker 6: Yeah, that's it. Great memory.
- 5:06Speaker 4: So and I was like, is this like a knockoff
- 5:08Speaker 4: Ultimate Warrior? What is it? Stin?
- 5:10Speaker 5: Then I realized it's just that I seen like a commercial.
- 5:12Speaker 5: It was flipping through and then I saw sting in
- 5:14Speaker 5: real life and I went, oh, that's the toys got
- 5:16Speaker 5: there's a whole nother That was my first exposure of WCW.
- 5:19Speaker 1: That's I have the exact same story.
- 5:21Speaker 7: I was a WWE fan and I started to collect
- 5:24Speaker 7: the toys and then I went to like Toys Rust
- 5:26Speaker 7: and saw these ww guys and I was like, what
- 5:28Speaker 7: on what is this? And I want to say, Flair
- 5:30Speaker 7: was on TV at the time too, so it was
- 5:31Speaker 7: making a little more sense, right. Plus I had seen
- 5:33Speaker 7: arn and old like costume home videos as brainbusters, and
- 5:37Speaker 7: I have the same exact story. That's how I figure out, Wait,
- 5:38Speaker 7: there's more than one kind of wrestling, and I was
- 5:41Speaker 7: watching them both. But I loved they were the same size,
- 5:43Speaker 7: so you could have WW ever's WCW orden player jumped
- 5:47Speaker 7: or sid jump.
- 5:48Speaker 6: They'd be purpose because they'd make the figure right away.
- 5:50Speaker 1: Let's get into stuff like that.
- 5:51Speaker 7: Do you have like memories of playing with them, like
- 5:53Speaker 7: collectors call it like your fig fed like growing up,
- 5:55Speaker 7: you know, memories of like storylines or things you did
- 5:58Speaker 7: playing with them.
- 5:59Speaker 4: One hundred percent.
- 6:00Speaker 5: We started with h Our first two UH signees were
- 6:03Speaker 5: Butcher and one of the head one of the headshrinkers,
- 6:07Speaker 5: and we went from there, kind of like POGs. When
- 6:09Speaker 5: you're a kid, you just started acquiring and uh, I
- 6:13Speaker 5: may have been a bit of a I may have
- 6:15Speaker 5: been a bit of a innocent thief in my childhood days.
- 6:18Speaker 1: Okay, recording anything.
- 6:23Speaker 4: KB toys might have contributed, contributed a lot of a
- 6:26Speaker 4: lot to my roster.
- 6:28Speaker 6: But good old KB toys in that era, that's what
- 6:30Speaker 6: it was like. The three for ten sale was a cab.
- 6:33Speaker 5: Somehow bordered through baseball cards of figures or something, and
- 6:37Speaker 5: I got the ring. Friend, I was very jealousy had
- 6:40Speaker 5: the ring. This is like the original one. It was
- 6:42Speaker 5: like a solid piece with like the.
- 6:45Speaker 4: Had a little thing where you put a little thing
- 6:47Speaker 4: where you wrap the belt.
- 6:48Speaker 1: Yeah, that's right.
- 6:49Speaker 7: Those rings are classic with a lot of money nowadays too,
- 6:53Speaker 7: by the way, Yeah, a lot a.
- 6:54Speaker 5: Lot of Buddy and just just a bunch of Battle
- 6:57Speaker 5: Royals and wacky just playing fucking figures together, you know
- 7:01Speaker 5: what I mean?
- 7:01Speaker 7: And like attitude there, did you like move on to
- 7:05Speaker 7: playing with like that era toys like well, Jack's basically
- 7:08Speaker 7: acquired the license.
- 7:09Speaker 1: They were a little different. They're called bone Crunchers.
- 7:11Speaker 5: Probably the latest version of toys I played with when
- 7:14Speaker 5: they first came out, like ninety six, with like a
- 7:17Speaker 5: Bret Hart that.
- 7:18Speaker 4: Was new and they were better than the old ones,
- 7:20Speaker 4: and I was.
- 7:20Speaker 1: Like those of the bone Crunch.
- 7:23Speaker 4: There was like a Brett Hard and like a Vader
- 7:26Speaker 4: who was a Vader who wasn't fat.
- 7:28Speaker 5: Yes, we actually talked to were talking about I haven't
- 7:32Speaker 5: thought about that decade.
- 7:34Speaker 6: They later turned that Vader into a d Lo Brown.
- 7:37Speaker 1: But it was a great deal because Delo wasn't that fat,
- 7:40Speaker 1: So that was such a great Vader. But pretty good DEALO.
- 7:42Speaker 4: That was that was a Delo body. Yeah, that makes
- 7:45Speaker 4: more sense, right.
- 7:45Speaker 7: So we were losers, so we kept playing, although we
- 7:48Speaker 7: kind of like secretly played with our toys and didn't
- 7:50Speaker 7: make it public into well into high school.
- 7:52Speaker 3: Because when we came up to the main roster, we
- 7:54Speaker 3: were still like figure hunted and play with toys for sure,
- 7:58Speaker 3: but it was a different era back then. Didn't tell
- 8:00Speaker 3: anybody toys, No, toys, toys are stupid. Yeah, we would
- 8:03Speaker 3: pretend it. But now now we have a podcast and.
- 8:05Speaker 4: We don't give it.
- 8:07Speaker 3: And we're all three toys ourselves. That's that's the other question.
- 8:11Speaker 3: I mean, how cool is it for you to get
- 8:14Speaker 3: your first toy. I mean, now you have tons of toys.
- 8:15Speaker 3: You're one of the most popular guys. You have tons
- 8:17Speaker 3: of toys.
- 8:17Speaker 6: But when you got that first one, was it was
- 8:20Speaker 6: it cool or was it like?
- 8:21Speaker 3: What do you think when you saw your first toy?
- 8:23Speaker 4: It is trippy when you first make it to w W.
- 8:24Speaker 5: That's one of those things where you're like, oh, I'm
- 8:26Speaker 5: gonna be like in the video game and on the
- 8:28Speaker 5: toy and everything, and it's trippy. It's like, whoa, it's
- 8:31Speaker 5: very cool. I mean, it's just it's hard to wrap
- 8:33Speaker 5: you brain. It's still hard to wrap my brain around that.
- 8:35Speaker 5: I'm like that, I'm even in WW right, you know
- 8:37Speaker 5: what I mean, you.
- 8:39Speaker 1: Take a step back.
- 8:40Speaker 5: Why because you're so used to just walking around and
- 8:43Speaker 5: you're seeing like Triple H and Vincement man, and I'm
- 8:46Speaker 5: so used to just having conversations with Vincent when it's
- 8:48Speaker 5: hard to remember, like.
- 8:49Speaker 4: Wholl you were like a kid watching this on TV.
- 8:52Speaker 4: It's like, whoa are you aware that you have?
- 8:54Speaker 7: So Mattel has like reimagined those hasbros that were just
- 8:57Speaker 7: talking about like butching the headshrinker were that.
- 8:59Speaker 4: You have one that's I've seen it because I sign
- 9:01Speaker 4: them all.
- 9:02Speaker 5: Yeah, so I'm always first introduced to stuff by signing
- 9:05Speaker 5: them at signings.
- 9:07Speaker 6: Or fans at the airport. Yeah, which we don't condone.
- 9:11Speaker 4: No, they ruin it for everybody.
- 9:13Speaker 6: I thank you.
- 9:13Speaker 4: I'm all about fans all the time in the world.
- 9:16Speaker 5: For fans, I've done every appearance and signing that would
- 9:20Speaker 5: last three hours.
- 9:21Speaker 4: I always wait.
- 9:22Speaker 5: Until everybody's done, no matter how long it takes. UH
- 9:26Speaker 5: would be in a babyface. I always stay out there
- 9:28Speaker 5: and sign all the autographs at the end of the
- 9:30Speaker 5: show every single night. It takes an extra twenty minutes.
- 9:33Speaker 5: But like some of these people ruin it forever exactly.
- 9:36Speaker 5: We agree the airport discussion with a stack.
- 9:40Speaker 4: Of stuff that last time signing, I'll sign all your
- 9:45Speaker 4: at a signing.
- 9:46Speaker 3: A couple of weeks ago, we were talking about the pod.
- 9:47Speaker 3: Somebody came up to me and he clearly didn't know
- 9:49Speaker 3: who I was. I said, what's my name's I'm like, dude,
- 9:53Speaker 3: I'm not gonna size for music sign it anyway. I'm like, dude,
- 9:55Speaker 3: you don't even know who I am.
- 9:57Speaker 1: The airport at six in the morning.
- 9:58Speaker 5: One of the one of the works this is when
- 10:00Speaker 5: they send the kid see him over there, and the
- 10:04Speaker 5: kid just walks up.
- 10:05Speaker 4: Kenny, you sign this, and you can't say no to
- 10:07Speaker 4: a kid.
- 10:08Speaker 5: A guy had one time when I was first uh
- 10:11Speaker 5: dating my now wife, she lived in New York, and
- 10:14Speaker 5: uh sometimes on the day off, it would make more
- 10:16Speaker 5: sense we'd spend some time in her house, sometimes in
- 10:18Speaker 5: my house, depending on where in the country we were.
- 10:21Speaker 4: So one time I changed my flight to go to
- 10:25Speaker 4: New York. I didn't change it.
- 10:26Speaker 5: I bought a new like pross line flight completely unrelated
- 10:30Speaker 5: to like the company travel Sure.
- 10:32Speaker 4: And when I landed in Newark, as soon as.
- 10:34Speaker 5: I got through the gate, there was like ten people
- 10:36Speaker 5: there with all this stan Ambrose stuff for me to sign.
- 10:40Speaker 4: And for a second, I like, I just woke up
- 10:42Speaker 4: from the plane, and I'm like, do I have a
- 10:44Speaker 4: show today? What's going on? I thought I was going home?
- 10:46Speaker 5: And then I'm like, I signed other stuff and then
- 10:48Speaker 5: I was sending bags claim and I'm like, how did
- 10:50Speaker 5: they know I was going to be here? It was
- 10:53Speaker 5: an autonomous decision by myself to buy my own new flight.
- 10:56Speaker 4: How did they know? Because you hear there's like leaks
- 10:58Speaker 4: in the travel department. Just did this on my own.
- 11:01Speaker 4: So they have leaks in like the airlines.
- 11:03Speaker 5: And then this dude came up to me in Baggers
- 11:05Speaker 5: Claim with some stuff and he said, hey, dude, I'm
- 11:07Speaker 5: trying not trying to bother you.
- 11:08Speaker 1: Dude.
- 11:08Speaker 5: I'll give fifty bucks to sign these two things. And
- 11:10Speaker 5: I went, huh, I'm want to keep your money. I'll
- 11:14Speaker 5: sign these things for you, but tell me how you
- 11:17Speaker 5: knew I was here. And he goes, oh, dude, we
- 11:20Speaker 5: got like a whole system, dude. Of course, it was
- 11:23Speaker 5: like a New York he's, dude, we got a whole
- 11:25Speaker 5: system that you know, we got people everywhere amazing.
- 11:28Speaker 1: I don't want to get people listening to this ideas
- 11:30Speaker 1: on how to do it right.
- 11:32Speaker 3: I mean, I was the die hardest of fans. I
- 11:34Speaker 3: didn't even think to go to the airpiand I didn't
- 11:37Speaker 3: even think about it.
- 11:38Speaker 4: No, I'd be scared to talk about it.
- 11:39Speaker 5: And then the thing is, even if you're like because
- 11:42Speaker 5: there's sometimes they're just legit fans. You can like when
- 11:44Speaker 5: we land in like McCallan Airport and Hidalgo, Texas, it's
- 11:49Speaker 5: like people probably don't know when we go to this
- 11:52Speaker 5: one particular town in Texas right on the border of
- 11:54Speaker 5: Mexico Hidalgo. When we land and it's tiny little airport,
- 11:57Speaker 5: it's like the Beatles just landed.
- 11:59Speaker 4: The whole a whole town.
- 12:00Speaker 5: Come and they're like, they're not collectors, they're just really
- 12:03Speaker 5: passionate fans. It's one of our best crowds, and like,
- 12:07Speaker 5: you gotta take the time for them.
- 12:08Speaker 4: You know, that's a little different.
- 12:10Speaker 1: It's pure the intentions of what you know they're trying
- 12:14Speaker 1: to do with the items.
- 12:16Speaker 4: Yeah, you gotta step back and be like, Okay, this
- 12:18Speaker 4: is the I'm living the dream right now. You know
- 12:20Speaker 4: they got your ask you have.
- 12:23Speaker 6: I got saw and I got rigged playing.
- 12:27Speaker 1: He's d guy and you're not glemen.
- 12:30Speaker 6: Yeah, and Brian and met Car they're so real.
- 12:36Speaker 4: Can you tell the.
- 12:36Speaker 6: Difference Restrica radio style?
- 12:42Speaker 4: Big rubber guys, they're for real.
- 12:45Speaker 1: He's sold separately on major bendis dot com. Big rubber
- 12:48Speaker 1: guys collect them.
- 12:50Speaker 4: All, but those other people do ruin it for everybody.
- 12:55Speaker 7: Just like people's stuff and autographs really isn't worth oh
- 12:58Speaker 7: a lot unless you die.
- 13:00Speaker 6: It's like rember zach Ryder tops cars or no one's
- 13:03Speaker 6: going on eBay. It's like I want to buy it.
- 13:04Speaker 6: If they're buying it, it's five bucks.
- 13:06Speaker 1: You know, there's no market for it. It's a very
- 13:09Speaker 1: I don't know if you knew.
- 13:10Speaker 3: This, but sometimes if they ask you to sign their
- 13:13Speaker 3: name on the figure, they can remove that. That's a
- 13:15Speaker 3: trick that they do so they make it seem like
- 13:17Speaker 3: they're this genuine fan. But they can use like some
- 13:19Speaker 3: sort of even like a wind Dex and just just wipe.
- 13:22Speaker 1: It Rock to Billy Gone and just as Dean Ambrose.
- 13:25Speaker 4: That makes sense.
- 13:26Speaker 3: It sucks, But so do you have any of your
- 13:30Speaker 3: Dean Ambrose figures or you're like there's just too many
- 13:33Speaker 3: anything you collect?
- 13:34Speaker 1: Like whatsoever?
- 13:35Speaker 4: No, really, I'm a see I'm not.
- 13:37Speaker 5: I'm known a lot of people who you go into
- 13:40Speaker 5: their house, even as adults, and it's like a toy store, right,
- 13:43Speaker 5: they got it all over the place.
- 13:44Speaker 2: The wall.
- 13:45Speaker 1: Well, they're sitting next to two, one more than the other.
- 13:48Speaker 5: There's nothing wrong with that. I am, in general a minimalist.
- 13:53Speaker 5: Having stuff. I feel like it weighs me down.
- 13:56Speaker 3: When I moved, Uh, you'd have a heart attack if
- 13:58Speaker 3: you came to my house.
- 13:59Speaker 4: I moved to Vegas.
- 14:00Speaker 5: I had nothing but the bags on my back empty apartment.
- 14:03Speaker 5: When the girlfriend first saw my apartments at the time,
- 14:05Speaker 5: she's like, is this a crack den? Where is your stuff?
- 14:09Speaker 5: I was like, I don't know, Like I don't have
- 14:11Speaker 5: any I'm on the road all time. I don't have
- 14:13Speaker 5: any stuff. So like now we have a house and
- 14:16Speaker 5: as it's been filled with stuff.
- 14:17Speaker 1: Yeah, that I like.
- 14:19Speaker 5: But sometimes I'm like, I feel like I gotta purge.
- 14:22Speaker 5: Sometimes I'm like cleaning out the garage, just throwing I
- 14:24Speaker 5: got to throw stuff away, right. I like to be
- 14:26Speaker 5: able to just cut my ties and go.
- 14:28Speaker 1: You know, if you have anything Ambrose that you've like
- 14:31Speaker 1: kept on too, that's like sentimental to you have a.
- 14:33Speaker 5: Couple cool like posters and chairs from like event, like
- 14:36Speaker 5: we had starkad and Cincinnati and it was a very
- 14:39Speaker 5: good night for me, you know, and I just had
- 14:41Speaker 5: a bunch of people there.
- 14:42Speaker 4: So, uh, that's where I'm from. So I kept the
- 14:44Speaker 4: chair put it up at my gym.
- 14:45Speaker 1: You know.
- 14:46Speaker 5: I have a couple of things like that. The thing,
- 14:48Speaker 5: I'm sure they do it to you. They send you
- 14:49Speaker 5: boxes of your own toys.
- 14:50Speaker 2: Yea.
- 14:51Speaker 5: So at first you're like giving to people and you know,
- 14:53Speaker 5: but at a certain point they start sending me at
- 14:56Speaker 5: such a rate, and I'm like, I don't need boxes
- 15:00Speaker 5: of my own face.
- 15:00Speaker 1: So I think you've reached a different level. You know,
- 15:03Speaker 1: we possible to send Jonathan.
- 15:05Speaker 6: You have so many it's unbelievable, like.
- 15:07Speaker 5: An unreal amount of figures. Oh it's at the years
- 15:09Speaker 5: he's been up here. At one point I had him
- 15:11Speaker 5: like had stacks of them in the garage. So if
- 15:13Speaker 5: people come and visit, I'm like, here, take some toys
- 15:15Speaker 5: with you, give them to your friends.
- 15:16Speaker 1: Well that's a good feeling though, you know.
- 15:17Speaker 4: But at one point, I like I threw a bunch
- 15:20Speaker 4: of them away.
- 15:21Speaker 5: It's unopen, nice toy like because I had like boxes
- 15:25Speaker 5: and they're taking up all space, and I was like,
- 15:27Speaker 5: get out of my house, like I just want a
- 15:28Speaker 5: dumpster and put them in the back of the truck
- 15:30Speaker 5: and dump like four boxes full of toys. Probably like
- 15:33Speaker 5: pretty valuable, but I'm not valuable. But you know, I
- 15:36Speaker 5: wish we would have counted how many that he has had.
- 15:38Speaker 5: I would say fifty two, one hundred for sure, easily.
- 15:42Speaker 5: I told my mom that and she looked at me
- 15:44Speaker 5: like I murdered a child. I was like that I
- 15:46Speaker 5: had to throw a bunch of them away. She's like,
- 15:48Speaker 5: because she's always trying to give.
- 15:49Speaker 1: Them the people for moms, especially, my mom's always asking
- 15:52Speaker 1: me for stuff.
- 15:52Speaker 4: But every two days there's like a new box of toys.
- 15:55Speaker 7: Really, you just my memory that you're from Cincinnati. Did
- 15:58Speaker 7: you have the Brian Pillman and the Bengals and that
- 16:00Speaker 7: same I did not know, didn't.
- 16:02Speaker 4: I don't think I've ever seen that.
- 16:03Speaker 1: Really, that was the same line as that thing and
- 16:07Speaker 1: Rick Flair you were talking about.
- 16:08Speaker 6: That was a hard one for me to get.
- 16:09Speaker 4: We talked about.
- 16:10Speaker 1: I didn't remember that being hard to find for me.
- 16:11Speaker 4: It was when the ww ones were so much bigger.
- 16:14Speaker 5: Kind of was weird because they'd been fighting like the
- 16:19Speaker 5: you know, whatever your child brain puts it, like like
- 16:22Speaker 5: like Ohl Cogan's on steroids.
- 16:24Speaker 4: He's a bad guy because he's twice as big as.
- 16:26Speaker 1: Like things make sense, right, I don't know.
- 16:30Speaker 3: We Yeah, we do this podcast every week and we
- 16:33Speaker 3: just keep going and talk. So we'd love that you're
- 16:34Speaker 3: that you wanted to talk about figures because people love hearing.
- 16:37Speaker 1: Especially after the initial no I got. Yeah, an Argentin, glad.
- 16:41Speaker 3: You came because we're here, like we're just like shooting,
- 16:44Speaker 3: talking about toys, talking about our childhood. Like you said,
- 16:46Speaker 3: you said it perfectly, like we're living we're living this,
- 16:48Speaker 3: this childhood dream, and sometimes we need to take a
- 16:51Speaker 3: step back. But whoa, we're actually we're here.
- 16:53Speaker 7: I think when we're actually old men, we don't just
- 16:55Speaker 7: feel like old men. Maybe well it'll be even a
- 16:58Speaker 7: different way to appreciate it, you know, because you.
- 16:59Speaker 4: Got you guys are like me.
- 17:00Speaker 5: You're like, there's a lot of people here that are
- 17:03Speaker 5: just here from the money. They don't didn't grow up
- 17:07Speaker 5: watching it, don't care, don't care what they do. I
- 17:09Speaker 5: have no artistic h care.
- 17:12Speaker 1: For what we do.
- 17:12Speaker 4: But you guys are like me, like this is all
- 17:15Speaker 4: we've ever loved, This is this is that thing exactly.
- 17:18Speaker 1: So it's almost like the old they never worked day
- 17:20Speaker 1: in your life.
- 17:20Speaker 4: Really, toys are a part of it.
- 17:22Speaker 1: A bad day of wrestling is better than a good
- 17:24Speaker 1: day at some.
- 17:26Speaker 3: And we started as I don't really know, but yeah,
- 17:28Speaker 3: my only job was I worked at gold gym with
- 17:30Speaker 3: no clients, a piece of delivery boy and uh and
- 17:34Speaker 3: I worked at a deli and then wwe.
- 17:36Speaker 4: That's it.
- 17:37Speaker 7: I was a caddy growing up and I would use
- 17:38Speaker 7: the money to buy wrestling figures and wrestling tickets.
- 17:42Speaker 4: I had every job under the sun.
- 17:45Speaker 5: Maybe maybe six months might be the longest I could
- 17:48Speaker 5: have sustained the job anywhere because everything took a back
- 17:52Speaker 5: seat to wrestling. Sure, so you worked, you know it,
- 17:56Speaker 5: worked somewhere for a week, train and learn the system,
- 17:58Speaker 5: waiter somewhere, work in a factory somewhere.
- 18:01Speaker 4: But then eventually I got a show.
- 18:03Speaker 5: Can't show it to work, you get fired or like
- 18:06Speaker 5: I got to train, you know, or training ran along,
- 18:08Speaker 5: I'm late and fired, you know, and I just got
- 18:10Speaker 5: whatever on the next one, because I can always get
- 18:12Speaker 5: another job, especially if you.
- 18:14Speaker 4: If you acquire the skills to be like in food service,
- 18:16Speaker 4: like a waiter.
- 18:17Speaker 5: It's the same everywhere, right, So like if you get
- 18:20Speaker 5: fire from apple Bee's, jump over to Olive Garden, get
- 18:22Speaker 5: fired from you know, and just keep keep wrestling the priority.
- 18:25Speaker 4: You can get money everywhere.
- 18:27Speaker 7: So you're good friends with the he's a big fan
- 18:29Speaker 7: of our show, Ego Rob Rob Ego. Yes, he's a
- 18:33Speaker 7: huge collector.
- 18:33Speaker 8: Did you know that?
- 18:34Speaker 1: I did not know that?
- 18:35Speaker 3: You know that he wants A couple of weeks ago
- 18:37Speaker 3: got paid with Hasbro's a rare set instead of instead
- 18:40Speaker 3: of getting money, he wanted.
- 18:41Speaker 1: The green series. He took a couple of weeks ago.
- 18:44Speaker 1: He was bragg into his bat and we're like, that's coolly.
- 18:46Speaker 6: I don't know if you get the full set or
- 18:47Speaker 6: something there, but they're that.
- 18:49Speaker 1: Valuable that it was.
- 18:50Speaker 5: I mean, if you're that deep into it and know
- 18:51Speaker 5: all and you know like the world of toy collecting,
- 18:54Speaker 5: you might be able to turn that into money.
- 18:55Speaker 9: This promoter clearly knew the work too, that even put
- 18:58Speaker 9: the offer on the table, Like I know no thing
- 19:00Speaker 9: about like investing or stocks or bonds, So I tell
- 19:04Speaker 9: myself that I'm investing in this collection that I have.
- 19:07Speaker 3: I have you if you walked into my toy room,
- 19:08Speaker 3: first of all, you have to do the Scott Hall
- 19:10Speaker 3: walk to get into my tour room because the door
- 19:11Speaker 3: isn't fully open.
- 19:12Speaker 7: It's a full size badge of probably like four times
- 19:14Speaker 7: the size of this hilario in right now, and you can't.
- 19:17Speaker 1: Open the door. It's so full with display.
- 19:19Speaker 3: It's all displayed. It's like nicely displayed, but there's just
- 19:22Speaker 3: too much stuff. I tell myself that one day, if
- 19:25Speaker 3: I needed to, if I was in a pinch, I
- 19:26Speaker 3: could sell this. Some things I couldn't give away, but
- 19:30Speaker 3: some things.
- 19:30Speaker 4: Are very valuable that would give me so much anxiety.
- 19:33Speaker 6: You would you would be like, get this stuff out
- 19:35Speaker 6: of here. You would hate it.
- 19:36Speaker 4: I don't. I don't care what it is. I do
- 19:38Speaker 4: bars of gold. I'd be like, get these gold bars
- 19:40Speaker 4: out of here and do my.
- 19:41Speaker 3: Dean Ambrose retro in there. Of course I don't do
- 19:44Speaker 3: current guys, but the retro set.
- 19:45Speaker 4: I have the Dean Ambrose cool anything.

- 19:55Speaker 4: anytime I'll.
- 19:56Speaker 6: Try to get you some of those retros from Ringsy
- 19:58Speaker 6: Collectibles sign them.
- 19:59Speaker 4: Yeah you can keep, okay, you know, hopefully maybe not
- 20:04Speaker 4: have boxes of them.
- 20:05Speaker 6: We'll get your one.
- 20:06Speaker 1: We'll get you one.
- 20:06Speaker 4: I might put one up somewhere.
