- 0:03Speaker 1: It's baseball season.
- 0:04Speaker 2: Congrats to the Seahawks, AJ's favorite team, second second favorite.
- 0:11Speaker 3: Whoa whoa whoa Scott.
- 0:13Speaker 1: Second, thank you, love you, great job. Won a ton
- 0:18Speaker 1: of bets last night. And I don't like the Patriots.
- 0:21Speaker 3: Chase imagination there. It is chasing just Sam Donald legend,
- 0:27Speaker 3: Sam Donald Jets legend.
- 0:29Speaker 1: Jet's Legend's good for him. The redemption story so good.
- 0:35Speaker 3: Crowds, I don't think you have your mic on. I don't.
- 0:38Speaker 1: I just wanted to see it as sick.
- 0:41Speaker 3: First time I've ever done that, first time I've ever
- 0:43Speaker 3: done it. The game last night, by the way, wasn't
- 0:47Speaker 3: very good unless you were a Seahawks man.
- 0:49Speaker 2: It was good for a party because there's just like
- 0:51Speaker 2: a few big moments where and it was just like
- 0:53Speaker 2: nice background.
- 0:54Speaker 1: Yeah, but no, it wasn't a thriller, which is fine.
- 0:57Speaker 3: I didn't want to thriller. I didn't, and that's what
- 0:59Speaker 3: the Patriots.
- 1:00Speaker 2: It was the best game, like if you had your
- 1:02Speaker 2: bets rolling, there was no sweating.
- 1:05Speaker 1: It was so nice.
- 1:06Speaker 3: Dave Poor annoying those guys, all those Pats lovers, hats lovers,
- 1:11Speaker 3: Lucy Burge to come on here a lot.
- 1:14Speaker 1: Yeah, well at least Belichick's in the Hall of Fame.
- 1:16Speaker 3: No, did you see her shirt? And Robert crafton did
- 1:20Speaker 3: you see Belichick's Girlfriend's shirt?
- 1:23Speaker 1: I heard she did some slight at them.
- 1:25Speaker 3: Was it so? When at the she was at the
- 1:27Speaker 3: UNC Duke game, which, by the way, it was great
- 1:29Speaker 3: college basketball this weekend to the UNC Duke, The Illinois
- 1:32Speaker 3: Michigan State game was unbelievable. The Kentucky Tennessee game was awesome.
- 1:37Speaker 3: I know we're a baseball show, but yes, Belichick's girlfriend
- 1:40Speaker 3: wore a Tears of Asia or whatever it was in Jupiter, Florida,
- 1:46Speaker 3: where Robert Kraft got arrested for whoa. Yeah, like the
- 1:49Speaker 3: shirt she's taking shots. It was bad. I'm like, well,
- 1:52Speaker 3: that can't Is that real? Like, is that really real?
- 1:54Speaker 3: She wore that shirt? Wow, I forget what it's called,
- 1:57Speaker 3: but it's.
- 1:57Speaker 1: Like I thought she was taking a shot at the
- 1:58Speaker 1: Hall of Fame. She's taking a shot.
- 2:00Speaker 3: Craft one or the other.
- 2:02Speaker 1: Jeez.
- 2:03Speaker 2: I know, I didn't know. I didn't do a lot
- 2:05Speaker 2: of research on all of that, but she knows how
- 2:09Speaker 2: to stay in the headlines.
- 2:11Speaker 3: Well now it's over, though, so now we can move
- 2:13Speaker 3: to baseball because football is officially that ball game is over.
- 2:17Speaker 2: We have spring training photos videos I'm seeing on social
- 2:21Speaker 2: media already.
- 2:22Speaker 1: Like, oh, there's Judge, there's Bragman, some guys popping up
- 2:26Speaker 1: at camp.
- 2:27Speaker 2: The last thing I'll put to bed here is baseball
- 2:30Speaker 2: does not beat the NFL in overall numbers in many categories,
- 2:34Speaker 2: but they do have some advantages. NFL does not make
- 2:37Speaker 2: their Hall of Fame voting public ever, so you never
- 2:40Speaker 2: know what.
- 2:40Speaker 3: Tony Dungee got asked about it, and he would not
- 2:42Speaker 3: you would say who he voted for. And then Rodney
- 2:45Speaker 3: Harrison called him out on it too, right to his face, which.
- 2:49Speaker 2: I like the Hall of Fame for baseball released anyone
- 2:52Speaker 2: that wanted it to be.
- 2:52Speaker 1: Probably it's eighty two percent of people, which is great.
- 2:55Speaker 3: They vote out, So if you have that power, you
- 2:57Speaker 3: should have to answer to people questioning your out And like,
- 3:01Speaker 3: there's certain people that vote for one person and they
- 3:03Speaker 3: get ten right.
- 3:05Speaker 2: And our All Star Game is awesome, and the NFL
- 3:10Speaker 2: is on life support with their Pro Bowl, flag football
- 3:14Speaker 2: e Tuesday Night whatever thing. Ratings were by far the
- 3:18Speaker 2: lowest ever. Also on the parody front, Jason Stark writing
- 3:23Speaker 2: how Champs over the last ten seasons six in the NFL,
- 3:26Speaker 2: seven and MLB teams in the finals the last ten seasons,
- 3:30Speaker 2: thirteen in baseball, nine in the NFL. I love seeing
- 3:35Speaker 2: people reply to tweets like this and just like cherry picking.
- 3:39Speaker 1: I mean, you can cherry pick anything, but Kratz.
- 3:41Speaker 2: They'll be like, well, that doesn't include this, this and this,
- 3:44Speaker 2: and oh, it's not going to look like that over
- 3:46Speaker 2: the next ten years.
- 3:49Speaker 3: Okay, well who knows what anything's going to look like
- 3:52Speaker 3: over the next ten years. Like it's clearly there's no
- 3:55Speaker 3: parody in the NFL, So sorry the cat. The cat
- 3:58Speaker 3: ain't bringing it. What is also not cap is I
- 4:02Speaker 3: won my only FT bet and that was heads or tails.
- 4:06Speaker 3: Suck it, Todd father nice.
- 4:10Speaker 2: It was a it was a great night. It was
- 4:12Speaker 2: a lucrative night. But there's a lot of money flying
- 4:15Speaker 2: around right now. Moves wise, we seem to be hitting
- 4:18Speaker 2: our like little deadline stretch of players in.
- 4:20Speaker 3: Because people are showing up the camp and players are
- 4:22Speaker 3: getting nervous. I mean it happens every year.
- 4:25Speaker 1: We'll take it. Let's do it.
- 4:27Speaker 3: Yes, yes, agreed, I mean that's kind of how it goes.
- 4:31Speaker 1: Let's start it, let's chuck it about.
- 4:36Speaker 2: Marcel A Zuna one year, twelve million dollars DH, Pirates.
- 4:40Speaker 1: What do you think?
- 4:42Speaker 3: Good? Good for him?
- 4:44Speaker 1: I mean, what about for the Pirates? Though?
- 4:46Speaker 3: Good for them. It's a good move for the Pirates.
- 4:49Speaker 3: It gives them a study DH. A guy who will
- 4:51Speaker 3: hit you twenty to thirty homers probably doesn't have to
- 4:54Speaker 3: worry about playing defense and can just go out there
- 4:58Speaker 3: and give us his bats. And it helps our offense.
- 5:00Speaker 3: I mean, their offense has vastly improved from where they
- 5:03Speaker 3: were at the end of last season. So O'Hearn, Brandon
- 5:06Speaker 3: lw Now you bring in Azuna. I mean, I like
- 5:09Speaker 3: the moves that they have made. They're trying to shore
- 5:12Speaker 3: up this team with the pitching that they have for
- 5:13Speaker 3: the next few years.
- 5:14Speaker 1: I liked.
- 5:14Speaker 3: And there are a lot of are short term deals.
- 5:16Speaker 3: They're just for a year or two and then we
- 5:17Speaker 3: move on.
- 5:18Speaker 1: Yep.
- 5:18Speaker 2: And I know the year was down and there were
- 5:20Speaker 2: some injuries whatever, But I mean look at the prior
- 5:22Speaker 2: to years for Azuna. An he's thirty five, Like you
- 5:25Speaker 2: might not get back to that play. Discipline is still
- 5:28Speaker 2: off the charts. To Kratz, walk percentages among the best
- 5:31Speaker 2: in baseball.
- 5:33Speaker 3: Azuna from the Pirates. Yeah, I mean it's definitely. You know,
- 5:38Speaker 3: they were felt like he was more valuable than Andrew
- 5:41Speaker 3: McCutchen what he was going to bring him. And I
- 5:44Speaker 3: would say, as much as I would want Andrew McCutchen
- 5:47Speaker 3: to be a Pirate, I think right now, Marcelo Zuna
- 5:52Speaker 3: they see it as an upgrade. The issue is last
- 5:54Speaker 3: year they did run into a little bit of an
- 5:56Speaker 3: issue with Reynolds getting hurt and saying, Okay, you gotta
- 6:00Speaker 3: go play the outfield because Reynolds could still he could
- 6:03Speaker 3: still DH, but he wasn't able to be out there running.
- 6:06Speaker 3: It was it was really about his throwing. It was
- 6:07Speaker 3: something of his lap. But it is really hamstringing you
- 6:12Speaker 3: when Marcelo's in there. Marcelo is DH. But like AJ said,
- 6:17Speaker 3: it's a one year thing. This team is so much
- 6:20Speaker 3: better than it was at the end of last year.
- 6:24Speaker 3: Is it enough offense to push them over the line
- 6:28Speaker 3: of being a playoff contending team? You need big you
- 6:35Speaker 3: need big years. There's gonna be You're gonna need big years.
- 6:38Speaker 3: Is the is the drop in the fact that you
- 6:40Speaker 3: won't get a three quarters of a year of key
- 6:43Speaker 3: Brian Hayes defense, You know there's gonna be a drop
- 6:46Speaker 3: in Brandon Lowe's defense. Is that gonna affect their pitching
- 6:49Speaker 3: or is this team built to score enough runs because
- 6:53Speaker 3: this pitching is that good? In my opinion, I think
- 6:57Speaker 3: it is. I think they're definitely still a little short
- 7:00Speaker 3: of the Cubs. I mean, I think the Cubs are
- 7:03Speaker 3: the class of the central right now for sure.
- 7:07Speaker 1: Aja.
- 7:07Speaker 2: You know what I love about Hello Fresh the variety.

- 8:01Speaker 2: first Box New subscribers only faries by plan.
- 8:04Speaker 1: That's FT one zero FM.
- 8:08Speaker 2: Can we go back to that graphic too, so we
- 8:10Speaker 2: can just run through the updated lineup with the Pirates.
- 8:13Speaker 1: There it is, let me read it real quick.
- 8:16Speaker 2: So Spencer Horriwitz at first, and we're showing ops plus
- 8:19Speaker 2: from last year next to it. Brandon Looe acquired for second,
- 8:23Speaker 2: Brian Reynolds in right field, Ryan o'harnon left. I mean
- 8:25Speaker 2: that's not every day. I mean, left field in Pittsburgh
- 8:28Speaker 2: is no joke. So I think he's going to also
- 8:31Speaker 2: play quite a bit of first. Azon A's got d h.
- 8:34Speaker 2: I mean, I'm not letting him play the outfield at
- 8:36Speaker 2: all if it's up to me O Neil Cruz in center,
- 8:38Speaker 2: and then Nick Gonzales Jared Trilla at third. That's really
- 8:41Speaker 2: nothing against Trillo, but more of a utility player. That's
- 8:43Speaker 2: where they really blew it, you know, yeah.
- 8:47Speaker 1: Still in the mix.
- 8:49Speaker 2: Yeah, so they still could get estock creators who I
- 8:51Speaker 2: think would be a huge.
- 8:52Speaker 3: Additional files that. But I think they still need one more.
- 8:56Speaker 3: I mean Henry Davis and Jommy Barter are gonna, you know,
- 8:59Speaker 3: because Henry Davis catch his schemes almost every start.
- 9:03Speaker 1: But they need a third basement.
- 9:04Speaker 3: They need a third base. Yes, yes, it's Time'neil Cruz
- 9:10Speaker 3: is time. It's been enough. You can't use shortstop as
- 9:13Speaker 3: Oh he's playing shortstop. Oh now he's switched positions. So
- 9:16Speaker 3: I mean he's had the great Kevin Kiermeyer on there
- 9:19Speaker 3: working with him for a couple of days. So outfield
- 9:21Speaker 3: has figured out. So now it's time to swing. There's
- 9:26Speaker 3: no way. There's no way Connor Griffin doesn't make the
- 9:29Speaker 3: team out of camp. There's no way. Third base. He's
- 9:32Speaker 3: played third base. Can you play third base? He's playing shortstop. Sorry,
- 9:37Speaker 3: he's gonna play shortstop. I think I think Jared Triolo
- 9:40Speaker 3: is a really good player. I get it. East Parades
- 9:43Speaker 3: is an upgrade. How big of an upgrade? I do
- 9:48Speaker 3: like Jared Triolo and there's gonna be he's a productive player.
- 9:51Speaker 3: There's gonna be a spotlight on him for it. But
- 9:54Speaker 3: Connor Griffin has to make the team. Let's say he
- 9:57Speaker 3: struggles in April, you can send him down then. But
- 10:00Speaker 3: if he makes the team and plays like you think
- 10:02Speaker 3: he's gonna play on a team that wants to win,
- 10:05Speaker 3: it's got a chance to give you a pick at
- 10:07Speaker 3: the end of the year. Like the Pirates are willing
- 10:09Speaker 3: to willing to roll the dice on that one. They're
- 10:12Speaker 3: they're pushing their chips in. Did they have a lot
- 10:14Speaker 3: of chips, I don't know, but they're pushing them in
- 10:17Speaker 3: and I have a hard time believing he is not
- 10:21Speaker 3: in that opening day lineup.
- 10:25Speaker 1: Go make that one big move.
- 10:27Speaker 2: Paratus is the guy because the Ashers are trying to
- 10:29Speaker 2: trade him. We'll talk about the red tax trade later,
- 10:31Speaker 2: but that's off the table now. I mean, Gino Suarez
- 10:34Speaker 2: would have been a great fit for this team, but
- 10:36Speaker 2: they blew it on that one. So you got Ozuna.
- 10:38Speaker 2: That's the one more piece to me that puts them
- 10:41Speaker 2: as a wildcard contender.
- 10:43Speaker 3: They needed they need another, need one.
- 10:46Speaker 1: More because they're also always thin, right that things.
- 10:49Speaker 3: Someone gets hurt, then you're really they're screwed.
- 10:52Speaker 1: You can't rely on everybody being healthy the who whole year? Yea,
- 10:55Speaker 1: but who do you want much better?
- 10:57Speaker 2: I'm not smashing them crats, right, this is this is
- 11:00Speaker 2: a lot better. This is yeah, I mean the first
- 11:03Speaker 2: three years.
- 11:04Speaker 1: I laugh at them. I am not laughing anymore.
- 11:07Speaker 3: Who do you want first? Quickly? Who do you want first?
- 11:09Speaker 3: Gino Suarez or.
- 11:13Speaker 1: Marcelo Zuna Ginosuire is no question for me? What about you, guys?
- 11:19Speaker 3: I would take Geno two.
- 11:20Speaker 1: That was the fit.
- 11:21Speaker 2: Now Marcelo Zuna plus e sac paratus, I'll take that
- 11:25Speaker 2: for sure.
- 11:25Speaker 3: They gotta get it, they gotta pay. What's Esac making.
- 11:29Speaker 1: I'll find he just twelve or something like that.
- 11:32Speaker 3: Ten or something.
- 11:33Speaker 2: Yeah, he just did some type of settle, So I'll
- 11:35Speaker 2: get that for you, and then we'll bring.
- 11:37Speaker 3: In the eight.
- 11:38Speaker 1: But he's at nine and change about nine and a half.
- 11:43Speaker 3: Okay, again, I'm gonna say this, and I know budgets
- 11:45Speaker 3: and this and that, but that's not a franchise killing
- 11:49Speaker 3: move for one year because it's a one year thing.
- 11:51Speaker 1: And if that gets vaulted into the playoffs.
- 11:54Speaker 3: Or vaulting okay, not even into the playoffs, like the
- 11:57Speaker 3: playoffs are tough in the National League, because just the
- 11:59Speaker 3: National League is really hard anyways, But if at least
- 12:02Speaker 3: it gets your fans excited. There's people coming to the
- 12:04Speaker 3: ballpark excited. There's in Hey, we're in it until September.
- 12:08Speaker 3: Maybe we don't make it. We win eighty five games
- 12:11Speaker 3: or eighty three games, and we missed the playoffs by
- 12:13Speaker 3: a few games. At least people are like, hey, the
- 12:16Speaker 3: pirates are trying, and it buys you some trust.
- 12:19Speaker 2: It's a good call owner Bob Nutting, who controls the purse.
- 12:22Speaker 2: Of course, go get one more piece, Go get esac paratus.
- 12:26Speaker 1: You will make that money back. I promise you.
- 12:28Speaker 2: You will make that money back in fans filling up seats. Yes,
- 12:32Speaker 2: I think you will. They've had attendance issues. You could
- 12:35Speaker 2: have a team that is in it for the entire year,
- 12:37Speaker 2: like AJ said, even if they don't make the playoffs,
- 12:39Speaker 2: in the mix for the whole year.
- 12:41Speaker 1: It hasn't happened in a while.
- 12:51Speaker 3: I can't wait to stay with Michael again. This in
- 12:54Speaker 3: about a week. You guys gotta shake it up. That'll
- 12:56Speaker 3: be nice. I can't wait for him to sleep in
- 13:00Speaker 3: the same room as me. You guys aren't doing that anymore,
- 13:02Speaker 3: I know, thank god, because otherwise someone might not make
- 13:04Speaker 3: it back from Arizona.
- 13:06Speaker 1: I think everybody on empty might not make it back.
- 13:08Speaker 2: But we'll talk more about spring training schedule at some point,
- 13:11Speaker 2: maybe tomorrow. Let's keep rolling on this trade right now.
- 13:15Speaker 2: With the Red Sox picking up Caleb Durban, I mean,
- 13:18Speaker 2: when you see that headline this morning, that's a shocker.
- 13:21Speaker 3: Well just shocker because the Brewers, you know, I mean,
- 13:25Speaker 3: I guess Hamilton is going to replace what Caleb Durban
- 13:28Speaker 3: can do. But then you know the way the Jet
- 13:30Speaker 3: Williams it's like, But then I guess they want Harrison
- 13:34Speaker 3: really bad. I mean, Monastereo got some big hits for him,
- 13:41Speaker 3: and they have one other big prospects bigger prospects.
- 13:44Speaker 2: Yeah, Fisher, there was either first round pick last year
- 13:47Speaker 2: and he's going to play in the WBC.
- 13:48Speaker 1: You know they're waiting for those guys.
- 13:50Speaker 2: But it's like, you're trying to have the best record
- 13:52Speaker 2: in baseball and make the playoffs again, and.
- 13:57Speaker 1: I think they are. And now have.
- 13:59Speaker 3: They any money in free agency? I know, I know,
- 14:02Speaker 3: I know woodrift in his qualifying offer, but have they
- 14:04Speaker 3: have they signed anybody in free agency? I don't think so.
- 14:08Speaker 3: I was trying to look it up. I was trying
- 14:10Speaker 3: to look it up before the show, and I don't
- 14:12Speaker 3: think they have unless they made I thought they made
- 14:16Speaker 3: a signing early early, and it was like, I know
- 14:20Speaker 3: it wasn't Colin Ray, but it was like that type
- 14:23Speaker 3: of like that type of like starter signing where it
- 14:28Speaker 3: was like, Okay, I see where they're at, but it's
- 14:31Speaker 3: not like replacing Freddy Peralta. I don't know. Scotty's better
- 14:34Speaker 3: at that stuff.
- 14:35Speaker 1: I don't believe. So.
- 14:36Speaker 2: I think, yeah, woodrift and arbitration avoidance with Jake Bauers,
- 14:42Speaker 2: but not that they.
- 14:43Speaker 3: Traded away a lot Freddy Parolta, a lot of Durbin Monasterio.
- 14:49Speaker 3: These are guys that were like on their team, on
- 14:50Speaker 3: their team. They're counting on Miserowski to be able to
- 14:54Speaker 3: start for him, right, They're counting on Brandon woodrif hasn't
- 14:57Speaker 3: been healthy gut I mean sadly in a long time
- 14:59Speaker 3: for full season. I mean they're counting on guys Quinn
- 15:03Speaker 3: Priester and some of these guys to have really great
- 15:06Speaker 3: years that haven't done it multiple times in a row
- 15:09Speaker 3: in a row. I mean last year they brought in Kintana,
- 15:10Speaker 3: who helped them a huge amount. Right, they brought in
- 15:13Speaker 3: Reez Hoskins, who say what you want. They brought in
- 15:16Speaker 3: Rander Vaughan who went off to help them. They did
- 15:18Speaker 3: britt make some moves last year to help them. They
- 15:20Speaker 3: they made the trade for Durbin, so they last year
- 15:24Speaker 3: they were doing things and this year it's like, okay, yes,
- 15:26Speaker 3: I understand Jet Williams and some of the other things
- 15:28Speaker 3: they've done, but they're not. At some point, you got
- 15:31Speaker 3: to play in the big boy pool. We always say this,
- 15:33Speaker 3: and right now the Brewers are not. And they've had success,
- 15:36Speaker 3: so I can't knock them, but they haven't had that
- 15:39Speaker 3: much success because this is the first year they won
- 15:41Speaker 3: a playoff series in a long time.
- 15:42Speaker 1: Too.
- 15:44Speaker 3: Are they okay with just making the playoffs? Like that's
- 15:47Speaker 3: my that's my thing. Are they okay with doing that?
- 15:50Speaker 3: Because if that's the case, then you know what, man,
- 15:53Speaker 3: they got this cool formula to make the playoffs. As
- 15:56Speaker 3: a Brewer fan, like, yes, I am a fan of
- 15:59Speaker 3: the Brewer or the organization, the people in the front office,
- 16:02Speaker 3: the way everything's run, like it's cool. Stories, But how
- 16:07Speaker 3: can you get rid of two guys who finished third
- 16:09Speaker 3: and fourth in the National League and Rookie of the
- 16:11Speaker 3: Year voting like, did they win it? No, they didn't
- 16:14Speaker 3: win it. You know, Isaac Collins and Caleb Durbin are
- 16:18Speaker 3: off this team. They were guys that personified what the
- 16:21Speaker 3: Brewers are. Are they getting rid of them because it's
- 16:25Speaker 3: max value? Okay, how many times can you keep hitting
- 16:29Speaker 3: on that? How many times can you can? You have
- 16:32Speaker 3: a team? Then they have their superstar. They have Jackson Churio.
- 16:35Speaker 3: Can he stay healthy? Like he's still learning how to
- 16:37Speaker 3: stay healthy and be a player in the game. Does
- 16:40Speaker 3: Bryce Terrang take his August September and become an MVP
- 16:44Speaker 3: candidate because he's got an elite glove. I don't know
- 16:47Speaker 3: if he's got like that level. He's an All Star.
- 16:50Speaker 3: So you have your pieces on the team. But the
- 16:55Speaker 3: last few years, everyone's like, oh, they've done this. The
- 16:57Speaker 3: last few years. They had Josh Hater, they had Devin Williams,
- 17:01Speaker 3: they had Freddy Peralta, they had Corbyn Burns, they had
- 17:04Speaker 3: all those guys throughout that time. It's a lot to
- 17:08Speaker 3: put on the Miz. It's a lot to put on
- 17:11Speaker 3: Big Wu to carry this team if you keep decimating it.
- 17:14Speaker 3: Unless they really do find this value in Kyle Harrison
- 17:18Speaker 3: and in Drohan in you know, in Hamilton, being that
- 17:23Speaker 3: guy that steps in as the next piece. It's just
- 17:26Speaker 3: it's tough to see as a brewer, as a fan
- 17:28Speaker 3: of the brewers.
- 17:30Speaker 2: Hey, sometimes we do a little game on foul.
- 17:33Speaker 1: Territory called role play.
- 17:35Speaker 2: It's not what you think. We're just picking up our
- 17:37Speaker 2: phones and we're talking as if we're somebody in baseball.
- 17:41Speaker 2: But if you'd like that phone to be a little
- 17:43Speaker 2: bit cheaper for making phone calls, who should you call?
- 17:46Speaker 3: Kratz min Mobile because you get all the same speed
- 17:52Speaker 3: with that tiny little.

- 18:32Speaker 1: I'm with you.
- 18:33Speaker 2: I mean, this team at the best record in baseball,
- 18:36Speaker 2: they got dusted by the Dodgers, and you look at
- 18:39Speaker 2: their off season and you're like, do they believe this
- 18:42Speaker 2: is their winning window? Are they trying to play the
- 18:45Speaker 2: percentages game of how many cracks can we get at
- 18:49Speaker 2: the postseason and eventually it'll work.
- 18:52Speaker 1: They've been doing that for like a decade.
- 18:54Speaker 3: Yeah, but it's again, I'm going to say this and listen,
- 18:56Speaker 3: the National League is really hard. Yeah right now, the
- 18:59Speaker 3: way the National League is set up, it's really hard.
- 19:01Speaker 1: But they were the best record in baseball.
- 19:03Speaker 3: Okay, okay, But then I'll ask this. I know they
- 19:05Speaker 3: didn't they like sweep the Dodgers in the regular season.
- 19:07Speaker 3: The Dodgers just bounded them in the playoffs. Sure, right,
- 19:10Speaker 3: They also lost the first four games the Torpedo bats
- 19:13Speaker 3: and the Yankees lost the first four games like one
- 19:15Speaker 3: hundred and six.
- 19:16Speaker 1: Right.
- 19:16Speaker 3: Murph made a joke about it in his speech, but
- 19:20Speaker 3: being great in the regular season, and krat says this,
- 19:22Speaker 3: there's regularly you know, he thinks there's regular season teams
- 19:24Speaker 3: and there's playoff teams. Being great in the regular season
- 19:28Speaker 3: if you don't win the World Series. And how many
- 19:30Speaker 3: World Series have the Brewers ever won in their in
- 19:32Speaker 3: their history of the Fair Chicks, how many times have
- 19:35Speaker 3: they been to the World Series Once? Once nineteen eighty two,
- 19:40Speaker 3: Harvey's Wallbangers lost to the Cardinals, So they haven't gotten
- 19:44Speaker 3: to eighty two. Okay, that's we're forty four years from then.
- 19:48Speaker 1: They don't believe in the all in thing.
- 19:50Speaker 3: They do believe in all in, but they can only
- 19:53Speaker 3: do what they're giving. I think Matt Arnold does a
- 19:55Speaker 3: terrific job with what he's given to work with. He's like,
- 19:59Speaker 3: h I just blanked on the guy in Seattle Poto.
- 20:03Speaker 3: Yeah right. The Poto's given a budget and he tries
- 20:06Speaker 3: to make all these moves to try to make them better,
- 20:08Speaker 3: but he has to keep a certain budget. Right. It's
- 20:11Speaker 3: kind of what the Rays did for so long. They're like, oh,
- 20:13Speaker 3: we got to keep it around this payroll and they
- 20:14Speaker 3: would flip guys here and there. The Brewers are trying
- 20:17Speaker 3: to do that, and they've had success doing it, much
- 20:19Speaker 3: like the Rays. The Race haven't won a World Series either, right,
- 20:22Speaker 3: But eventually that bubble burst and then you almost got
- 20:25Speaker 3: to start over with a new crew. Sorry, brew Crew,
- 20:28Speaker 3: I didn't mean that was non intentional. That played well,
- 20:30Speaker 3: but you have to start over with like a new crew, right.
- 20:33Speaker 1: Isn't that what the Rays are going through right now?
- 20:34Speaker 3: The Rays are kind of going through it right now
- 20:36Speaker 3: because also the American the yeast has gotten better, because
- 20:38Speaker 3: Toronto now is really good. The Yankees are usually pretty good.
- 20:41Speaker 3: The Red Sox went through a little lull. Now they're
- 20:43Speaker 3: bring coming it back, right. The Orioles finally got it
- 20:46Speaker 3: figured out a little bit, so now the Rays are like, man, shit,
- 20:49Speaker 3: we got to do something different. So now they're trying
- 20:52Speaker 3: something different, right. The thing with the Brewers are they've
- 20:55Speaker 3: also caught. The Cardinals have been in a down right.
- 20:58Speaker 3: The Pirates haven't been good for ten years. The Cubs
- 21:01Speaker 3: have been they won in twenty sixteen, but since then
- 21:03Speaker 3: they've kind of been meh. Right, So the division also
- 21:06Speaker 3: was kind of lined up for him, where Hey Burns,
- 21:09Speaker 3: pralta Woodrow, all these guys, I mean, Yellows is a
- 21:12Speaker 3: year older. Yellows, you can't make it through a full
- 21:14Speaker 3: year anymore. And it sucks because he's really good when
- 21:16Speaker 3: he's out there, right, Controras is about at the end
- 21:19Speaker 3: of his Brewer tenure. So then you're like, Okay, well,
- 21:22Speaker 3: who are you counting on? And they keep making these trades,
- 21:25Speaker 3: but at some point you're gonna have to hit on.
- 21:27Speaker 3: You're gonna have to you have to hit on every
- 21:28Speaker 3: single one of these.
- 21:29Speaker 1: They're becoming the race they can turn.
- 21:32Speaker 2: They're really good to stars and there's massive amounts of
- 21:35Speaker 2: churn and it's causing them to be competitive every year.
- 21:38Speaker 2: Like you said, how much of that has to do
- 21:40Speaker 2: with all of this success in the organization and some
- 21:43Speaker 2: of it to do with a very down division over.
- 21:45Speaker 3: The last But they're really good at it. They've done
- 21:47Speaker 3: they've been successful, so you can't knock them, right, Yah,
- 21:49Speaker 3: Donald has been really good at it.
- 21:50Speaker 1: It's just frustrating to not I don't think this is
- 21:52Speaker 1: a front off.
- 21:53Speaker 2: But the ballpark probably packed. Yeah, Like you didn't make
- 21:56Speaker 2: any extra money last year?
- 21:58Speaker 3: The ballpark was packed. Right. They beat the Cubs in
- 22:00Speaker 3: five games in the DS, right, I mean they obviously
- 22:04Speaker 3: they lost with Todgers, but I mean they I don't
- 22:07Speaker 3: know what else you want if you're a Brewer, if
- 22:09Speaker 3: you're a Brewers fan, Like they come back, they come
- 22:12Speaker 3: to every game I do for Fox. There is packed,
- 22:14Speaker 3: I mean not an empty seat in the place. And
- 22:17Speaker 3: they're they're crazy, they go crazy, and they love their guys.
- 22:20Speaker 3: They love their team.
- 22:23Speaker 1: I know.
- 22:24Speaker 3: It's like the Bucks, Like they have the Bucks too,
- 22:25Speaker 3: right in Milwaukee, right, so they have the Bucks really
- 22:27Speaker 3: in the Brewers. Okay, Green Bay is not in Milwaukee, people,
- 22:31Speaker 3: it's not. It's like two hours away, right, whatever, But
- 22:34Speaker 3: they love those teams. I mean you walk around Milwaukee,
- 22:37Speaker 3: you see Brewers stuff everywhere, and you see Bucks stuff everywhere.
- 22:40Speaker 3: They support the heck out of that team.
- 22:42Speaker 2: Can I throw this out there because I think this
- 22:44Speaker 2: is the comp I feel as if the Diamondbacks approach
- 22:48Speaker 2: is a little more boom or bust, and then all
- 22:50Speaker 2: of a sudden they end up, say twenty twenty.
- 22:51Speaker 1: Three in the World Series.
- 22:53Speaker 2: Right, they make some moves that it's like this is
- 22:55Speaker 2: going to really work or this is going to be
- 22:56Speaker 2: a disaster. I feel like the Brewers are super safe,
- 23:00Speaker 2: so their ceiling I think is lower and their floor
- 23:03Speaker 2: is higher. I'd rather be a Diamondbacks fan in terms
- 23:07Speaker 2: of the way that the team looks at themselves. Right,
- 23:11Speaker 2: there's some guys that you know, are going to be
- 23:13Speaker 2: there for a while. It causes some continuity, you take
- 23:15Speaker 2: some big risks, and some years you go through mini
- 23:19Speaker 2: rebuild at the very least. And I think fans are
- 23:22Speaker 2: okay with that if they felt like they had that
- 23:23Speaker 2: all in push. Maybe I'm wrong, Maybe you're just like
- 23:26Speaker 2: I want my team to be good every year and
- 23:28Speaker 2: be borderline or playoffs every year?
- 23:30Speaker 3: Would you rather have a team that makes the playoffs
- 23:32Speaker 3: and never wins a World Series?
- 23:33Speaker 1: No question?
- 23:34Speaker 3: We're about to talk to the Ohios. What city is
- 23:36Speaker 3: he in?
- 23:37Speaker 2: He is in Pittsburgh, Okay, no question. I want the
- 23:39Speaker 2: team that's going for it. And then, okay, Mike Mike
- 23:42Speaker 2: Tomlin just resigned. Ohios covered him.
- 23:45Speaker 3: Mike Tomlin nineteenth straight years, never had a losing record,
- 23:48Speaker 3: he won one super Bowl, okay, but the last I
- 23:50Speaker 3: don't know how many every years since he won that
- 23:52Speaker 3: super Bowl, they've been nine and eight, ten and six,
- 23:55Speaker 3: but they lose in the first round every year. Would
- 23:57Speaker 3: you do you want that team? The Atlanta Braves all
- 23:59Speaker 3: those years they and all those division champions, they won
- 24:01Speaker 3: one World Series? The Brewers the last how many every
- 24:05Speaker 3: years have made the playoffs? Right? They were great guys
- 24:07Speaker 3: were in the playoffs, let's go team and then they lose.
- 24:11Speaker 3: It's like, or would you rather have the Diamondbacks won
- 24:13Speaker 3: a World Series? I was twenty five years ago. Yeah,
- 24:16Speaker 3: but they got to ask You got to ask a
- 24:19Speaker 3: Brewers fan, not just a fan of baseball. Ok, you
- 24:24Speaker 3: got to ask a Brewers fan, because they're exactly like
- 24:26Speaker 3: I know we're gonna get to Noah, but they're exactly
- 24:28Speaker 3: like what AJ said. Brewis fans are there. They support
- 24:32Speaker 3: they support the Bucks, they support the Brewers, they support
- 24:34Speaker 3: the loser players like me, just like they support the
- 24:38Speaker 3: superstars like Yellye and Cheerio. Like they really delve into
- 24:42Speaker 3: their team. So that question, I think has to be
- 24:44Speaker 3: asked by that fan base. Do the Guardians won a
- 24:49Speaker 3: World Series or just every other year in the playoffs
- 24:52Speaker 3: type of type of run? Do the Brewers won a
- 24:55Speaker 3: World Series? Or seven straight playoff runs where your heart
- 24:59Speaker 3: gets b or seven of eight?
- 25:03Speaker 2: The Diamondbacks is a very recent example. It's twenty twenty three.
- 25:06Speaker 2: They were in the National League. National League was pretty loaded,
- 25:09Speaker 2: and they figured out a way to get through.
- 25:11Speaker 3: So they had nunbelievab They first of all, they got
- 25:14Speaker 3: hottest all hell fire and brimstone for that for those
- 25:17Speaker 3: two weeks. Sure, the Phillies, the Phillies, they're down three
- 25:20Speaker 3: to one. It never should have happened. And they just said,
- 25:22Speaker 3: you know what, Phillies, We're just gonna throw you slider
- 25:24Speaker 3: on every pitch. And their Phillies like, we've never seen
- 25:26Speaker 3: one of those before. We forgot how balls, fastballs for
- 25:30Speaker 3: balls in and sliders. I mean that was three straight games,
- 25:34Speaker 3: that's all they did. Fastballs in ball, Oh, they're gonna
- 25:36Speaker 3: throw me another one. Slider, slider, slider, oh, fastball. It
- 25:40Speaker 3: was like and they couldn't beat them, and then they
- 25:42Speaker 3: ran into the Rangers, who obviously took them down in
- 25:44Speaker 3: the twenty three. But are you happier with that? Every one?
- 25:48Speaker 3: Once every ten years you make a deep run to
- 25:50Speaker 3: the World Series.
- 25:51Speaker 2: It's not like you don't make the playoffs at all.
- 25:53Speaker 2: Around that, I'm just saying, you have more variants. Have
- 25:55Speaker 2: a few years where you're contender, you have a few
- 25:57Speaker 2: years where you're not.
- 25:57Speaker 3: So you'd rather just be Mike tom.
- 26:00Speaker 1: No, no me.
- 26:01Speaker 2: I want the Diamondbacks. That's my whole point. I want
- 26:04Speaker 2: the ride. Give me the ride. Winter Time speed Round,
- 26:14Speaker 2: lots of signings happening with veterans finding homes. Let's start
- 26:17Speaker 2: with Paul Goldschmith from the Weekend one year, four million
- 26:21Speaker 2: dollars back to the Yankees, two million dollars in additional
- 26:24Speaker 2: plate appearance bonuses. His production fell off in the second
- 26:28Speaker 2: half of the year. He raked overall against left handed pitching.
- 26:32Speaker 2: This past season. Ben Rice should continue to have more
- 26:35Speaker 2: of a role. He apparently turned down more money opportunities
- 26:39Speaker 2: elsewhere aj so that he could fit in nicely again
- 26:43Speaker 2: with the Yankees.
- 26:43Speaker 1: Your thoughts on the Yanks running it back.
- 26:46Speaker 3: It's the same team. I mean, essentially they lost Weaver
- 26:49Speaker 3: and Devin Williams. They made a couple of small tweaks,
- 26:51Speaker 3: but it's literally the same exact team. And they can
- 26:55Speaker 3: say it's not, but I think it's twenty three to
- 26:56Speaker 3: the twenty six guys are back from that roster that
- 26:59Speaker 3: finished the season last year with the Yankees.
- 27:01Speaker 1: That's rare.
- 27:02Speaker 3: Now you're adding now you're gonna add Garrett Cole at
- 27:04Speaker 3: some point, which you will help, right And you added
- 27:06Speaker 3: Ryan Weathers who will help you. But other than that,
- 27:10Speaker 3: it literally is the same exact team. I mean, they
- 27:13Speaker 3: didn't win ninety four games last year and they tied
- 27:15Speaker 3: the Blue Jays and didn't win the division because they
- 27:16Speaker 3: had to head but they did make the playoffs and
- 27:20Speaker 3: did okay, So I don't know, it's just interesting to
- 27:23Speaker 3: you see a team bring back twenty three of the
- 27:25Speaker 3: twenty six guys.
- 27:27Speaker 1: When they got bounced in the DS.
- 27:30Speaker 3: They eat the Red Sox, though, did they get bounced
- 27:33Speaker 3: because they weren't good enough or did they get bounced
- 27:35Speaker 3: because in that series they weren't good enough. That's always
- 27:38Speaker 3: gonna be the Red the Yankees, m I mean, even
- 27:41Speaker 3: if you bring in different guys, they're still looking for
- 27:44Speaker 3: the same archetype. So they might have a different name
- 27:47Speaker 3: on their jersey. Well, they don't have any names on
- 27:48Speaker 3: their jerseys because of the Yankees, but they might have
- 27:50Speaker 3: a different name, but it's gonna be the same archetype.
- 27:53Speaker 3: I still like this lineup. I don't I don't hate
- 27:56Speaker 3: this lineup. I love that Paul Goldschmid's coming back. It
- 28:00Speaker 3: came from the Cardinals, which have just a major deficiency
- 28:05Speaker 3: in their analytic department when he was there, and he
- 28:08Speaker 3: came to the Yankees, which is one of the most proficient,
- 28:11Speaker 3: one of the most like giving you the information and
- 28:14Speaker 3: Paul Goldschmidt is a very analytical like really dives into
- 28:18Speaker 3: every little thing, so it shows he liked it. I
- 28:21Speaker 3: don't hate this signing. Is Paul gold Schmid a Hall
- 28:23Speaker 3: of Famer? Probably not for this session, but check the numbers.
- 28:26Speaker 2: Out another time, another time. We don't have time. But
- 28:30Speaker 2: for me, yeah, this should be a very strong, solid team.
- 28:34Speaker 2: The blue Jays playoff team was better than the Yankees'
- 28:38Speaker 2: playoff mix.
- 28:39Speaker 1: I think that part's obvious, right.
- 28:41Speaker 2: They won the same amount of games, so they were
- 28:42Speaker 2: evenly matched in the regular season, but the Blue Jays
- 28:46Speaker 2: looked like the better team. It was not like one
- 28:48Speaker 2: of those like you actually the comp I mean, the
- 28:50Speaker 2: Blue Jays and Dodgers were matched up as close as
- 28:52Speaker 2: you can be with different strengths. And that's why that
- 28:55Speaker 2: series was crazy. The DS series, and I know it's
- 28:58Speaker 2: a short series, wasn't crazy. The Blue Jays looked like
- 29:00Speaker 2: a better built playoff team. Yes, I don't think that's
- 29:02Speaker 2: a I think that's the only take. I don't think
- 29:05Speaker 2: anybody's looking at the Yankees like yep that they you know,
- 29:09Speaker 2: they did that series over and over again.
- 29:10Speaker 1: The Yankees win it more than the Blue Jays do.
- 29:13Speaker 2: I don't think so. I don't think it was like
- 29:14Speaker 2: a small sample size thing, you know. But I run
- 29:17Speaker 2: that series ten times. I think the Blue Jays win
- 29:18Speaker 2: seven or eight of them.
- 29:20Speaker 3: I think I think the Yankees, like I said, though,
- 29:22Speaker 3: they're like, if they were gonna go out and make
- 29:23Speaker 3: a move, they would have made a move to replace
- 29:25Speaker 3: the guy that was, and it's gonna be a similar
- 29:28Speaker 3: type of move. They're not just gonna all of a
- 29:30Speaker 3: sudden shift. Well, the blue Jays beat us. They beat
- 29:32Speaker 3: us in the regular season, Yeah, we finished with the
- 29:35Speaker 3: same record, but they beat us in the playoffs. We
- 29:37Speaker 3: got to shift over to what the Blue Jays did. No,
- 29:41Speaker 3: they're just gonna keep doing what they do because they
- 29:43Speaker 3: had the best offense in baseball, not you know, opinion wise,
- 29:47Speaker 3: just statistically.
- 29:51Speaker 1: Yeah. No, I'm not knocking them, and I'm especially not.
- 29:55Speaker 3: Not just saying it's the same thing.
- 29:57Speaker 2: It's just an interesting storyline that they're running with these
- 30:00Speaker 2: exact team. And if it was up to be I
- 30:02Speaker 2: wouldn't do that, right, if you had the choice, you'd
- 30:04Speaker 2: like I would prefer switching something up.
- 30:07Speaker 1: I just don't know if they had the lane for that, right.
- 30:09Speaker 3: We can switch it out, you'd upgrade a shortstop. I mean,
- 30:13Speaker 3: everybody's real quick to jump on the Anthony Volpi trade.
- 30:16Speaker 3: Everybody you know, Oh no, get him out of there,
- 30:18Speaker 3: Get him out of there. I mean he's not evenna
- 30:20Speaker 3: start the season. So you kind of have like a
- 30:22Speaker 3: two piece shortstop. Yes, you guys can't play left field. Well,
- 30:26Speaker 3: it took care of that. They brought bell in your back.
- 30:28Speaker 3: I don't know that they thought Trent Grisham would accept
- 30:31Speaker 3: the qualifying offer, or if they knew he would accept it.
- 30:34Speaker 3: I think you're gonna see some aggression from him. He
- 30:36Speaker 3: had a career year. But anybody hitting around Aaron Judge
- 30:40Speaker 3: behind in front of you're just gonna get different pitches
- 30:43Speaker 3: than you are when you're in a different lineup. So, like,
- 30:48Speaker 3: I don't see where they would make the changes. I know,
- 30:51Speaker 3: you can't just change to make a change. You got
- 30:54Speaker 3: to make a change somewhere. So who you to bounce out?
- 30:57Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean you you gave the layup to start
- 30:59Speaker 2: the shortstop upgrade. But there there's nothing really out there
- 31:02Speaker 2: in their minds. What wasn't really anyone out.
- 31:04Speaker 3: There base Maybe they could have upgraded, but they like
- 31:06Speaker 3: McMahon's defense right catcher. Maybe they could have upgraded, but
- 31:10Speaker 3: who's out there nobody? Yeah, I mean base Yeah, But
- 31:18Speaker 3: I mean it all depends on what you're looking for.
- 31:20Speaker 1: Yeah, you are, but you are.
- 31:21Speaker 3: Counting on Aaron Judge to just continue to be the
- 31:25Speaker 3: best hitter we've seen in a long time, correct, Like
- 31:27Speaker 3: you are just counting This lineup is just again, if
- 31:29Speaker 3: Aaron Judge goes down for any amount of time, it's
- 31:31Speaker 3: huge for this team.
- 31:32Speaker 1: They're built around Judge, which is fine.
- 31:34Speaker 3: I get it, because Aaron Judge is one of the
- 31:36Speaker 3: top two hitters in baseball right now. So I I
- 31:40Speaker 3: one hundred percent get it.
- 31:42Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 31:42Speaker 3: So, but if he goes down, if he misses any
- 31:44Speaker 3: sort of time, and then you know, you can count
- 31:47Speaker 3: on Stanton missing times. Sucks as much as it sucks
- 31:49Speaker 3: to say that. You know, Vulpi is what Vulty is
- 31:52Speaker 3: at this point. I mean we're three three plus years
- 31:55Speaker 3: into this now, so he's what he is.
- 31:57Speaker 2: Most of the rosters just homer mashers. That's what you want,
- 32:02Speaker 2: homer mashers. But is there enough? I don't want to
- 32:04Speaker 2: get into like the classic like oh they need more contact. No,
- 32:07Speaker 2: I mean the ideal is contact plus slug and that's
- 32:10Speaker 2: what the Blue Jays had in the post Sauero.
- 32:12Speaker 3: Is he going to start this year church stuff for him?
- 32:15Speaker 1: Yeah? I mean to me, that's what goes. Super utility
- 32:18Speaker 1: guy is his role.
- 32:19Speaker 2: But he's going to be the guy at least to
- 32:21Speaker 2: start the season while Wolpee works his way back.
- 32:24Speaker 3: The Yankees are going to be fascinating to me just
- 32:27Speaker 3: because they need Rodan to come back for you don't
- 32:28Speaker 3: have a good other good year? Probably what does what
- 32:31Speaker 3: does he'll give him? Because he yeah he was mass Schlitzler.
- 32:34Speaker 3: What does he do for him? For with a full
- 32:36Speaker 3: year Will Warren? I mean, they have options Bednar closing
- 32:40Speaker 3: for him for a full season.
- 32:41Speaker 1: They've got arms.
- 32:42Speaker 3: So it's gonna be fascinating just to see.
- 32:46Speaker 2: Yeah, let's get to a few more here. Hey, their
- 32:48Speaker 2: division got a little better. Nick Martinez has been a
- 32:50Speaker 2: really solid pitcher in the bigs for a while now.
- 32:53Speaker 3: And you got thirteen the ultimate Rays signing right here.
- 32:55Speaker 1: Yep, thirteen million bucks.
- 32:56Speaker 2: And guess what if the Rays aren't good at the
- 32:58Speaker 2: trade deadline, they're only paying sixty percent of this contract.
- 33:02Speaker 2: He gone, he's the if he's healthy, he is one
- 33:04Speaker 2: of the easiest guys to deal away.
- 33:07Speaker 1: He can do it all.
- 33:07Speaker 3: So this is the perfect rate. He can start, he
- 33:09Speaker 3: can relieve, he can close if they need him to.
- 33:11Speaker 2: They want him to start. I think that was the
- 33:13Speaker 2: agreement here to start the season. But that doesn't mean
- 33:15Speaker 2: he doesn't get flipped.
- 33:16Speaker 3: Yeah, so I'm saying, but he's done everything, so he
- 33:18Speaker 3: can do it all.
- 33:19Speaker 1: Great, good he is. It makes sense. That's an easy one.
- 33:26Speaker 3: That's great. I love it. Thirteen million for him. Go
- 33:30Speaker 3: go back and look at what other teams have paid,
- 33:32Speaker 3: like fifteen and eighteen million per year, and you go.
- 33:36Speaker 3: Nick Martinez is kind of nice, but other teams see
- 33:38Speaker 3: him as that Swiss army knife. And I think he
- 33:41Speaker 3: really wants to start. I think he wants to make
- 33:43Speaker 3: thirty two starts.
- 33:46Speaker 2: And if the race end up being bad at the deadline,
- 33:49Speaker 2: he'll move around and he'll go to a team that
- 33:51Speaker 2: can even if they put him in the rotation to
- 33:54Speaker 2: eat innings, then in the playoffs they could move him
- 33:56Speaker 2: to the swingman role. Like he's he's valuable. Remember he
- 34:00Speaker 2: what he took the qualifying offer last year. He made
- 34:02Speaker 2: about twenty one million bucks in twenty twenty five. Next up,
- 34:07Speaker 2: Eric Vetti and the White Sox married again.
- 34:09Speaker 1: One year contract, reunited and it feels so good. Sure
- 34:16Speaker 1: League figured him out a little bit lately.
- 34:17Speaker 3: Yeah, but last time they traded him for Miguel Vargas.
- 34:20Speaker 1: Right, he was the centerpiece, you know.
- 34:24Speaker 3: They traded him in copec to all over the place
- 34:27Speaker 3: for Miguel Argus, who's turned into be you know, a
- 34:31Speaker 3: player for the White Sox. He's in the lineup every day.
- 34:33Speaker 3: So and the two A ball kids, I guess said,
- 34:35Speaker 3: I don't know what happened to them, but I'm sure
- 34:37Speaker 3: Justin in the chat will tell us how much we
- 34:39Speaker 3: don't know the White Sox prospects. So fire away justin
- 34:42Speaker 3: love you, Justin, Yeah, we love you, but fire away
- 34:44Speaker 3: that we don't know every White Sox player in the organization.
- 34:47Speaker 3: I apologize because there's twenty one other teams.
- 34:49Speaker 1: But Baseball America Hotchiet tomorrow.
- 34:50Speaker 3: They I do. Listen, this is a good depth signing
- 34:53Speaker 3: for the White Sox, But I still want you still
- 34:55Speaker 3: want Martin, and you still want Smith, and you still
- 34:58Speaker 3: want some of the younger guys to Anthony Kaid to
- 35:00Speaker 3: get their innings and then use fetti where you can
- 35:04Speaker 3: for me, that's it.
- 35:07Speaker 2: I will say Kratz Fetti is one of those guys
- 35:10Speaker 2: where the league didn't love him, And yes they got
- 35:12Speaker 2: Vargas in that deal, but remember he was rolling that
- 35:15Speaker 2: year with the Era.
- 35:16Speaker 1: But there's other peripheral numbers that didn't love.
- 35:18Speaker 2: Him and stuff metrics and then you saw that play
- 35:21Speaker 2: out last year with a five and a half RA
- 35:24Speaker 2: He's probably somewhat in between that right back end starter.
- 35:29Speaker 3: Good for the White Sox. Hopefully he's a guy that
- 35:32Speaker 3: he feels comfortable in Chicago because he was there. They
- 35:34Speaker 3: gave him that shot after he came after he came
- 35:37Speaker 3: back overseas from overseas. But to me, this is a
- 35:41Speaker 3: great signing because of the fact that he can add
- 35:46Speaker 3: that veteran leadership to the guys that aj just mentioned,
- 35:50Speaker 3: like if you want them to take the next step,
- 35:53Speaker 3: you gotta You don't want them to struggle, You want
- 35:56Speaker 3: them to hear about struggles, so they stay away from
- 35:59Speaker 3: him from other guys, and I think Fetty's Fetty's a
- 36:02Speaker 3: great guy in the sense that he was a top prospect.
- 36:05Speaker 3: You know, everything looked golden peachy. Then he then he
- 36:08Speaker 3: had to go. Then he had to go overseas to play.
- 36:10Speaker 3: Now he came back and he had a good, good run.
- 36:12Speaker 3: But it's like, hey, just because you see certain success,
- 36:15Speaker 3: it's okay to be like, No, I'm not I'm not complacent.
- 36:19Speaker 3: I'm not getting complacent. And I think that's what veterans
- 36:22Speaker 3: in that locker room can do.
- 36:25Speaker 1: And one more, Chris Paddock to the Marlins rotation depth.
- 36:31Speaker 3: But I thought the Marlins had all the rotational pieces
- 36:34Speaker 3: in the world because they.
- 36:37Speaker 1: Traded away Weathers and Edward Cabrera.
- 36:41Speaker 3: Remember somebody on somebody in the chatter on Twitter crushed us,
- 36:45Speaker 3: crushed us. They have the best pitching depthitely And why
- 36:47Speaker 3: did they Chris about it?
- 36:49Speaker 1: That is so true. You need to.
- 36:50Speaker 3: Crush for saying like, hey, Weather's in Cabrero expendable. Yes, yeah,
- 36:55Speaker 3: we have so much pitching Marlins. Come on, guys, Sandy'll
- 37:00Speaker 3: be gone too before too much longer.
- 37:03Speaker 1: Agreed. If he pitches, well he gone.
- 37:05Speaker 3: Yeah. But he signed with the Marlins because it's a
- 37:08Speaker 3: big league deal. He probably wasn't getting a big league
- 37:11Speaker 3: deal elsewhere. I don't know about that.
- 37:13Speaker 2: I think Paddock, no, he was getting a big league deal.
- 37:16Speaker 2: I think the big league deal might have been two
- 37:18Speaker 2: or three million, and the Marlins are giving.
- 37:19Speaker 1: Him four plus pitcher k incentives.
- 37:22Speaker 3: Chris Paddick has not pitched well in a while. Look
- 37:24Speaker 3: at the numbers.
- 37:24Speaker 2: The Marlins always get about four million bucks to sign
- 37:27Speaker 2: a guy like this. Cal Quantrell was what last year
- 37:29Speaker 2: of the year before they get that one allowance in February.
- 37:32Speaker 1: You know, it's like you're begging your parents.
- 37:33Speaker 3: For a loan and they're hoping he pitches well and
- 37:35Speaker 3: they trade.
- 37:35Speaker 1: Him correct so they'll pay half this.
- 37:38Speaker 2: Yeah, and for Paddock, I mean, you're right, he hasn't
- 37:42Speaker 2: put it all together in a while. But low walks
- 37:47Speaker 2: guy still is like so is some stuff. He's always
- 37:50Speaker 2: had good stuff, right.
- 37:51Speaker 1: Gives up a lot of homers, gives up a lot
- 37:53Speaker 1: of homers.
- 37:54Speaker 3: Doesn't strike anybody out.
- 37:57Speaker 2: Yeah, Corilla strikeout rate last year. Remember, traded to Detroit
- 38:01Speaker 2: at the deadline. But what I recall, didn't pitch well there.
- 38:04Speaker 3: No, he was even on the playoff roster. He wasn't
- 38:07Speaker 3: even on them, he was.
- 38:09Speaker 1: I don't remember him being there. I mean he was. Yeah.
- 38:11Speaker 2: He made seven starts and five relief appearances for Detroit.
- 38:17Speaker 2: With Minnesota, he made twenty one starts, had a just
- 38:21Speaker 2: shy of five y plus was below league average, so
- 38:26Speaker 2: back end inning Zeter hopefully pitch as well.
- 38:30Speaker 1: This is a guy where Marlin's.
- 38:32Speaker 2: I think they have the special sauce like the race
- 38:34Speaker 2: because they stole some people from the race front office
- 38:37Speaker 2: and they see if they can catch some fire with
- 38:40Speaker 2: a fun loving guy in a clubhouse.
- 38:52Speaker 1: Hey.
- 38:53Speaker 2: Unfortunately, he was a lot of people in our sport.
- 38:55Speaker 2: There's so many people connected to the game, and you know,
- 38:59Speaker 2: we can't take to everyone all the time, but we
- 39:01Speaker 2: do want to make sure we get a minute here
- 39:03Speaker 2: for Tyron score. You know, gone way too freaking soon.
- 39:06Speaker 2: Oh my gosh, stunning, devastating news over the weekend. It
- 39:11Speaker 2: sounded like there was a surgery complication that wasn't supposed
- 39:13Speaker 2: to be a complicated surgery, So just shocking, awful. You know,
- 39:17Speaker 2: family was posting a little bit about it.
- 39:19Speaker 1: People are like, what the hell happened?
- 39:22Speaker 2: Thirty four years old, three time World Series champ, kind
- 39:25Speaker 2: of your pinch runner, extraordinary super super athlete, crats Did
- 39:31Speaker 2: you come across him?
- 39:32Speaker 3: Oh yeah, I was there when he got called up
- 39:34Speaker 3: in September and fourteen. I was there when he did
- 39:36Speaker 3: all those rookie Shenanigans to twenty twenty four. We you know,
- 39:42Speaker 3: we were, we were. We hung out a ton for
- 39:45Speaker 3: the Royals reunion twenty fifteen, we did the caravan together
- 39:49Speaker 3: like we played in nineteen together in Triple A as
- 39:52Speaker 3: he was, you know, trying to come back or just
- 39:55Speaker 3: always coming back through super unique career, incredible, huge human being.
- 40:00Speaker 3: To see him come up as a rookie at twenty
- 40:02Speaker 3: three years old and just be so green but be
- 40:05Speaker 3: able to do something in the game of baseball that
- 40:08Speaker 3: was at an elite level was something I still have
- 40:12Speaker 3: never seen. I still have never seen. But the fact
- 40:16Speaker 3: that like he's gone at thirty four years old, the
- 40:19Speaker 3: fact that he you know, just was an incredible person
- 40:23Speaker 3: an incredible like he just had this infectious personality. I
- 40:27Speaker 3: watched a lot of since I heard the news. I
- 40:29Speaker 3: watched a lot of different interviews from from him throughout
- 40:32Speaker 3: the years with the different teams that he's been on,
- 40:35Speaker 3: and he's just he truly and not just because he
- 40:39Speaker 3: was he was a little guy and we called him
- 40:40Speaker 3: g baby, but he's truly so thankful and just like
- 40:44Speaker 3: a kid playing the game and he was just like,
- 40:48Speaker 3: you ain't gonna throw me out there ain't no way.
- 40:50Speaker 3: I think he was caught one time in the postseason,
- 40:52Speaker 3: and that was on a replay. He stole third, he
- 40:54Speaker 3: was safe, and the whole like, oh, his cleat just
- 40:57Speaker 3: came off the base. I mean, just an incredible person.
- 41:02Speaker 3: And I couldn't be sadder for Brittany and his three kids,
- 41:07Speaker 3: like seeing them. It just, yeah, really hard news for
- 41:12Speaker 3: me to get this weekend.
- 41:13Speaker 2: Sorry for your loss and for everyone. Yeah morning, the
- 41:16Speaker 2: loss of Tyron score awful.
- 41:18Speaker 1: Awful. We're thinking about.
- 41:20Speaker 2: The family and rest in peace, and we'll go out
- 41:23Speaker 2: that way. We're back on Tuesday. Of course, Dodgers territory
- 41:27Speaker 2: is running right now. Clinton, Katie Wu on that one,
- 41:30Speaker 2: So if you want to flip over there, go for it.
- 41:32Speaker 1: Otherwise, we will see you tomorrow. I believe Scott Boris
- 41:36Speaker 1: will be joining us tomorrow on FT
