- 0:01Dave Hamilton: Business Brain, episode 799 for Casual Fried AI, October 23rd,
- 0:08Dave Hamilton: National Slap Your Coworker Day.
- 0:11Shannon Jean: Wow.
- 0:12Dave Hamilton: Shannon, you ignorant—wait, no, that's not that kind of joke.
- 0:14Shannon Jean: Yeah, yeah, yeah. That's a great—that's good. That's interesting.
- 0:18Shannon Jean: That's an interesting—I don't know that that would work over very well.
- 0:21Dave Hamilton: I don't think that that's going to—that's not—that wasn't created in 2026,
- 0:25Dave Hamilton: was it? I don't think so. Let's see, where is it? Offering a tongue-in-cheek
- 0:27Dave Hamilton: opportunity to address workplace frustrations.
- 0:32Dave Hamilton: Yeah. Okay. So you're supposed to use this to find humorous ways to vent stress. So there you go.
- 0:41Shannon Jean: By not slapping your...
- 0:42Dave Hamilton: I guess. Yeah. Yeah. Interesting. Yeah. I don't know. Greetings and welcome to Business Brain.
- 0:49Dave Hamilton: We're the show where we take some ideas, we crunch them, we dissect them,
- 0:53Dave Hamilton: we use them to tune our business brains and level up our charmed lives.
- 0:58Dave Hamilton: Our sponsors for this episode include Perplexity Computer at pplx.ai slash brain,
- 1:04Dave Hamilton: where you can start your free trial and NordLayer AI Scout, which is going to
- 1:09Dave Hamilton: help you understand how AI is being used in your organization.
- 1:13Dave Hamilton: We'll talk more in depth about them in a little bit, and you can find the links
- 1:15Dave Hamilton: to them in the show notes too.
- 1:17Dave Hamilton: For now, here in Durham, New Hampshire, I'm Dave Hamilton.
- 1:19Shannon Jean: And in Northern California, I am Shannon Jean. Happy Friday, I.
- 1:23Dave Hamilton: Happy Friday I
- 1:26Shannon Jean: I want to talk about a few things today, Dave.
- 1:28Dave Hamilton: Same. I don't know where we're going to start.
- 1:33Shannon Jean: Yeah. Let's talk about agents, talking to other agents.
- 1:35Dave Hamilton: Okay.
- 1:36Shannon Jean: Right. Which I think, so I've been using, we all have, at least on this show,
- 1:41Shannon Jean: and maybe our listeners too. But I've been playing around with agents a lot
- 1:46Shannon Jean: in the last couple of months.
- 1:49Shannon Jean: Instinct, GrokBot, Muse. I played with one this weekend, which I immediately deleted, called Hark.
- 1:57Shannon Jean: That we can talk a little bit about too. Sure.
- 2:02Shannon Jean: But often what I'm finding is as these agents try to do more for you,
- 2:08Shannon Jean: some businesses online seem to be set up very well to receive these requests
- 2:15Shannon Jean: and whatever and bookings and different stuff with your agent. Yep.
- 2:20Shannon Jean: Many other services are not so well.
- 2:26Shannon Jean: So you have to intervene, and it doesn't work. You have to actually pick up
- 2:32Shannon Jean: the phone, call, whatever, do different things. But your agent says, hey, I can't.
- 2:36Shannon Jean: They won't let me get past this barrier. Yeah.
- 2:40Shannon Jean: I can't buy these things. I can't order this for you. I can't make this appointment.
- 2:44Shannon Jean: So I thought it would be good to talk about, as business owners,
- 2:47Shannon Jean: how do we prepare for the influx?
- 2:51Shannon Jean: Because I think we mentioned it last Friday, I, that the vast majority of internet
- 2:55Shannon Jean: traffic in the future will be agents talking to agents.
- 2:59Dave Hamilton: Right? Yeah, I agree with that.
- 3:01Shannon Jean: Yeah. So how do we prepare our businesses online to receive those agents because we want them to…,
- 3:09Shannon Jean: help us grow our business, right?
- 3:11Dave Hamilton: I think it's, yeah. And it's, it's actually very easy to do this.
- 3:16Dave Hamilton: Uh, I remember, I will rewind not that long ago, sometime over the summer.
- 3:20Dave Hamilton: I can't remember the date, but I remember where I was.
- 3:23Dave Hamilton: I was at, um, Mac stock, which is a conference.
- 3:26Dave Hamilton: And it was, uh, during a session, there was a, it was like in between sessions
- 3:31Dave Hamilton: and the session was about to start.
- 3:32Dave Hamilton: And I was talking with one of our podcasters that, that we represent at Backbeat
- 3:36Dave Hamilton: meeting we're talking about ai and stuff and i was like yeah okay and i had
- 3:40Dave Hamilton: an idea and i sat down and i told claude i said hey uh
- 3:45Dave Hamilton: build me an mcp connector for our back-end system we call it pod man for podcast
- 3:52Dave Hamilton: manager it's just the thing that tracks everything and you know schedules everything
- 3:56Dave Hamilton: so that people's agents could talk to our thing like you know
- 4:00Dave Hamilton: and and i said go and then i didn't close my laptop because you know it was
- 4:04Dave Hamilton: busy building this thing uh
- 4:06Dave Hamilton: but i just you know like put the lid down
- 4:09Dave Hamilton: I wasn't watching it i wasn't handing holding its hand through it i wasn't answering
- 4:13Dave Hamilton: questions other than the initial it was like how do you want to do this do you
- 4:16Dave Hamilton: want it to be read only at first like it asked a couple of very basic questions and i
- 4:20Dave Hamilton: answered quickly in about five seconds and then you know half closed the lid
- 4:24Dave Hamilton: on my laptop and watched the session engaged with the session
- 4:27Dave Hamilton: and then when the session was over 30 minutes later i lifted up my laptop And
- 4:31Dave Hamilton: it was like, yeah, I'm ready to push this, you know, to the server if you are. And I'm like, yeah, go.
- 4:36Dave Hamilton: And that day was the day that we had an agent, you know, an agent compatible, an agent friendly.
- 4:46Dave Hamilton: Scenario where your agent can interact and do everything that you could do with
- 4:51Dave Hamilton: this and it makes your life way easier if you're one of our broadcasters by
- 4:55Dave Hamilton: the way it also makes your life easy if you're one of the sales people too because
- 4:58Dave Hamilton: guess what we built it for everything you know
- 5:00Dave Hamilton: yeah right and and that to me seemed like such and but my point was
- 5:07Dave Hamilton: your there is of all the things that you can use ai to build for you having
- 5:14Dave Hamilton: it build for you a thing for itself to access your system
- 5:19Dave Hamilton: it doesn't need much from you to do that it knows what it's going to want and
- 5:24Dave Hamilton: what other agents are going to want right correct you don't have to like think
- 5:28Dave Hamilton: about wow i don't even know how to do this neither do i by the way ask
- 5:32Shannon Jean: Yeah ask your whatever ai you're.
- 5:34Dave Hamilton: Using like what better thing to build you wouldn't want a human building that
- 5:38Dave Hamilton: for an ai no let it build it for itself and other things like it and it like
- 5:43Dave Hamilton: it's working like it's such a great i built it that day and it's done yeah
- 5:48Shannon Jean: There's you know there's.
- 5:49Dave Hamilton: All and yes people have to log in it's not you know it built an authentication
- 5:53Dave Hamilton: workflow and all that stuff so yeah yeah it's private and all the things yeah
- 5:56Dave Hamilton: in fact it found some holes in our authentication workflow that day too that
- 6:01Dave Hamilton: we fixed that's great yeah yeah and
- 6:02Shannon Jean: It's it's it's it's not difficult and i think it's just going to become more
- 6:07Shannon Jean: and more necessary because what i find is what i'm using,
- 6:10Shannon Jean: one of my agents and i say hey go do this do that it comes back and when it
- 6:13Shannon Jean: hits a roadblock i'm immediately thinking okay where else can we go where else can we get this thing,
- 6:20Shannon Jean: where else can i book this service like i don't,
- 6:22Shannon Jean: Like, I don't want to pick up the phone to call to make a reservation or to do whatever.
- 6:29Shannon Jean: I'm just not going to do that anymore. I don't have time. No. I don't want to.
- 6:32Shannon Jean: Let me rephrase that. I do not wish to use my time to do those things anymore.
- 6:38Dave Hamilton: Love that. Right? You do have the time. You're just choosing to use it your own way.
- 6:43Shannon Jean: Yeah. That's a whole other topic for a show because I've been using that phrase more.
- 6:47Dave Hamilton: I like that phrase.
- 6:49Shannon Jean: It puts you more in control and you get to decide what you spend your time on.
- 6:54Shannon Jean: And these are just tools, just like your calculator and your smartphone.
- 6:57Shannon Jean: And, you know, you want to be able to use them. So that's the number one thing
- 7:02Shannon Jean: I would look at if as a small business owner on your website,
- 7:06Shannon Jean: how do we integrate this to other agents as people?
- 7:09Shannon Jean: Because especially like Muse, it's going to blow up agents because there's a
- 7:12Shannon Jean: gazillion Facebook users, right? Yep.
- 7:15Shannon Jean: And it's an easy, very accessible agent, and it's pinging all these sites that,
- 7:22Shannon Jean: hey, I want to book this. I want to do this. People are testing it.
- 7:26Shannon Jean: You need to make your site and your service compatible.
- 7:28Dave Hamilton: We're going to Quebec City after Thanksgiving. Actually, we're going for Thanksgiving
- 7:34Dave Hamilton: this year, it turns out. Nice. Yeah, yeah, whatever.
- 7:36Dave Hamilton: But as soon as we plan the trip, it's just my wife and my son and I, and me, rather.
- 7:43Dave Hamilton: And uh we like all got told our agents like we're going that we and we used
- 7:49Dave Hamilton: it to find our airbnb too of course like of course but once it was booked it
- 7:53Dave Hamilton: was like all right we'll go and like find me the things to do
- 7:56Dave Hamilton: book me dinners do this do this and the things that it like you said that the
- 8:01Dave Hamilton: the services that it is blocked from doing unless it's something that's super important to us yeah
- 8:07Dave Hamilton: we're we're just going to navigate around those we're not going to use them
- 8:11Dave Hamilton: i wanted to buy there's a certain brand of salsa that we found that we really
- 8:14Dave Hamilton: like. It's called Somos, S-O-M-O-S.
- 8:17Dave Hamilton: And I used to be able to buy it directly from Somos. They aren't selling it direct anymore.
- 8:24Dave Hamilton: They're out of stock of it or something. And Muse can't really work with Amazon
- 8:28Dave Hamilton: all that well, although it's pretty good at finding ways around that.
- 8:30Dave Hamilton: But it was like, I found it over on Walmart.
- 8:33Dave Hamilton: Is that okay? I'm like, I don't care.
- 8:36Dave Hamilton: I don't care where it is now. In a week, I want it at my house. Like, that's it.
- 8:41Shannon Jean: It's a really interesting comment that you make because the agents,
- 8:45Shannon Jean: I think you're going to become more, when I say brand, site,
- 8:52Shannon Jean: store, whatever, agnostic.
- 8:54Shannon Jean: And the agent is going to make the decision like, look, I want a great deal, but I need to get it here.
- 8:59Shannon Jean: Just buy it. If you have my credit card, just do it.
- 9:02Dave Hamilton: Just do it. Yeah. And this is, I understand why Amazon is being resistant to
- 9:08Dave Hamilton: it. And I think your comment just now shines a light on exactly why.
- 9:12Dave Hamilton: For so long, all of our purchases have started with, can I get it on Amazon?
- 9:20Dave Hamilton: And if the answer is yes, you're done.
- 9:23Shannon Jean: Easy.
- 9:23Dave Hamilton: Right, because it's easy. And if the answer is no, then you start hunting around
- 9:28Dave Hamilton: and where else could I get it?
- 9:30Dave Hamilton: But now that we have these agents doing it, it doesn't matter.
- 9:33Dave Hamilton: And that's why Amazon's blocking this because they know right now,
- 9:38Dave Hamilton: most of us are still in the habit of buying on Amazon.
- 9:42Dave Hamilton: I think it's short-sighted of them. Yeah. Unless, unless they are planning to
- 9:48Dave Hamilton: release their own agent that's not only for Amazon. Like if they can release,
- 9:53Dave Hamilton: like if Rufus, which is what they call their thing.
- 9:56Shannon Jean: Yeah, whatever it is. Alexa for shopping or whatever.
- 9:58Dave Hamilton: Yeah, but if they release Rufus as an app on your phone that can do everything
- 10:03Dave Hamilton: and also, oh, by the way, buy your stuff and has access to Amazon.
- 10:06Dave Hamilton: But if it is your agent that can be your agent first, then Amazon could win.
- 10:12Dave Hamilton: And candidly, if they don't offer that within a month or two,
- 10:19Dave Hamilton: I think they've missed out.
- 10:20Dave Hamilton: So I'm curious to see what happens. Black Friday is coming.
- 10:24Shannon Jean: Yeah. And if you have a Shopify store, they're like embracing it in a heartbeat.
- 10:28Dave Hamilton: Of course they are. They know that they have an opportunity here. Yeah. Super smart.
- 10:32Shannon Jean: And it's kind of like if you look at Salesforce, they now offer a completely
- 10:37Shannon Jean: headless version of their software, meaning they don't care.
- 10:42Shannon Jean: You can access the data any way you want. You don't have to go through our client,
- 10:45Shannon Jean: our site, whatever it is.
- 10:47Shannon Jean: I think the next step is these stores are going to have to do the same thing.
- 10:51Shannon Jean: And it's great to see Shopify embrace that.
- 10:53Dave Hamilton: I agree. I think it's great. Yeah, it's smart. But also, Shopify is not the
- 10:59Dave Hamilton: number one place people go to buy things. Correct. So this is how they're competing.
- 11:04Shannon Jean: Yes, it's smart.
- 11:05Dave Hamilton: It all makes sense. Right. It makes sense why Amazon is resisting.
- 11:08Dave Hamilton: It makes sense why Shopify is embracing.
- 11:11Shannon Jean: It's funny to see because Amazon disrupted so many people, but there's always
- 11:14Shannon Jean: something coming along to disrupt the disruptor.
- 11:17Dave Hamilton: Right? Unless it's you. Unless you disrupted yourself first. Yes. I agree.
- 11:23Dave Hamilton: And again, maybe Amazon's got that plan in the works.
- 11:28Dave Hamilton: I would assume they do.
- 11:30Dave Hamilton: But time will tell. Time will tell. Time will tell a few other things.
- 11:34Dave Hamilton: Time will tell what our next topic is.
- 11:36Dave Hamilton: Time will also let us tell you about our sponsors.
- 11:39Dave Hamilton: Look, the best tools are the ones that you hand something to and then walk away from.
- 11:45Dave Hamilton: And that's what I love about our sponsor, Perplexity Computer.
- 11:49Dave Hamilton: I connected it to the WooCommerce store behind our MacGeekGab premium subscriptions
- 11:54Dave Hamilton: for the other podcast I do. I told it what I wanted.
- 11:58Dave Hamilton: New sales, renewals, one-time purchases. I wanted it to gather all that data,
- 12:02Dave Hamilton: and then it built the reports.
- 12:04Dave Hamilton: Smooth, flawless, and I didn't have to babysit any of it.
- 12:07Dave Hamilton: And here's the even smarter part. Computer isn't locked into one AI model, right?
- 12:13Dave Hamilton: Because it's perplexity, it orchestrates all the leading models behind the scenes
- 12:18Dave Hamilton: and sends each step of your project to whichever one is right for that step.
- 12:23Dave Hamilton: You say what you need done, and then you get out of the way.
- 12:27Dave Hamilton: I've started phrasing requests to it more politely than I've phrased them to
- 12:30Dave Hamilton: actual humans, you know, just in case.
- 12:33Dave Hamilton: That's the charmed life, though, right? Handing something off and trusting it's handled.
- 12:38Dave Hamilton: For a limited time only, you, our listeners, can try Perplexity Computer for free.
- 12:43Dave Hamilton: Head to pplx.ai slash brain.
- 12:48Dave Hamilton: That's pplx.ai slash brain to try computer today.
- 12:54Dave Hamilton: Most AI tools are still answering questions while Perplexity Computer is completing
- 12:59Dave Hamilton: full projects. Go check it out. I think you're going to like it as much as I
- 13:02Dave Hamilton: do. and our thanks to Perplexity Computer for sponsoring this episode.
- 13:06Dave Hamilton: Quick question for anyone with a team. Do you actually know which AI tools your
- 13:10Dave Hamilton: people are using right now? Not the approved list, the real one.
- 13:14Dave Hamilton: Because I'll tell you what I know from my own setup, right? I've got agents
- 13:18Dave Hamilton: running with connections to servers all over the place, like we've been talking about here, right?
- 13:22Dave Hamilton: And keeping track of what reaches what is genuinely hard when it's just me.
- 13:27Dave Hamilton: Multiply that by a staff, right?
- 13:30Dave Hamilton: That's what NordLayer AI Scout is for, our sponsor here.
- 13:34Dave Hamilton: It's the visibility layer for enterprise AI. It shows you every AI tool your
- 13:39Dave Hamilton: team is actually using across web and desktop.
- 13:42Dave Hamilton: It catches all the sensitive stuff, source code, API keys, customer data,
- 13:47Dave Hamilton: before it gets pasted into a public tool.
- 13:50Dave Hamilton: And it keeps an audit trail. So when a customer asks you how you govern AI,
- 13:54Dave Hamilton: you've got a real answer for them.
- 13:56Dave Hamilton: It also shows which connections your coding agents are making and tells you
- 14:01Dave Hamilton: whether those 200 seats you're paying for are actually being used.
- 14:05Dave Hamilton: It deploys silently. No new app for anyone to log into.
- 14:09Dave Hamilton: Think of it as a doorbell cam for AI, right? See it. Record it.
- 14:13Dave Hamilton: Decide what happens next. It's up to you.
- 14:15Dave Hamilton: But you can't govern what you can't see. And that's the charmed life.
- 14:19Dave Hamilton: Knowing instead of hoping.
- 14:21Dave Hamilton: Find out what your team is actually doing with AI at NordLayer.com slash AIScout slash BusinessBrain.
- 14:30Dave Hamilton: Go check it out. I think you're going to like what you find.
- 14:33Dave Hamilton: And our thanks to NordLayer AIScout for sponsoring this episode.
- 14:39Dave Hamilton: So we've talked on the show about having a chief of staff agent, right?
- 14:43Dave Hamilton: It's one of the things that GrokBot tells you to do during the onboarding process,
- 14:50Dave Hamilton: right? And it's a great idea.
- 14:53Dave Hamilton: But, of course, the GrokBot agent or the agent, if you did one in Instinct or
- 14:57Dave Hamilton: if you did one in Instinct, it's more difficult to do it with just because of
- 15:02Dave Hamilton: the way the flow is. But I guess if you did it in Slack, you could or Muse or whatever.
- 15:06Dave Hamilton: Um they see what they see inside their own platform yep if you're using chat
- 15:13Dave Hamilton: gpt or claude or perplexity or whatever
- 15:17Dave Hamilton: your grokbot chief of staff doesn't actually see any of that stuff unless you share it with it right
- 15:23Dave Hamilton: uh i told claude the other day i have so many different projects in claude claude
- 15:28Dave Hamilton: code and like all the co-work stuff and everything that i do there
- 15:32Dave Hamilton: you know i told it the other day i was like hey build me i want a chief of staff
- 15:37Dave Hamilton: i need something that is aware of all of the things i'm doing
- 15:43Dave Hamilton: and isn't is going to keep me from losing track of the things because i'll have
- 15:48Dave Hamilton: a great idea and i'll go deep and like dig in but then
- 15:52Shannon Jean: You go back and you're like wait.
- 15:54Dave Hamilton: Yeah where is even if i remember about like i'll go and i'll spend 20 minutes
- 15:59Dave Hamilton: on something it's like okay this is great like like let's do this later or whatever
- 16:02Dave Hamilton: and then it's like where is that and and the interface doesn't really make that
- 16:08Dave Hamilton: great so i have a chief of i i had claude build itself a chief of staff the
- 16:13Dave Hamilton: other day it's it's it's better than not having it is
- 16:19Dave Hamilton: my experience with it it's not perfect it really doesn't see everything uh that's
- 16:25Dave Hamilton: inside its own ecosystem there which is somewhat frustrating
- 16:32Dave Hamilton: but it's there now
- 16:35Dave Hamilton: Well, there's an add-on to this, but thoughts on this? Have you done anything
- 16:40Dave Hamilton: like this other than the GrokBot one?
- 16:43Shannon Jean: Only chief of staff I have is in GrokBot, and it's amazing because it does have
- 16:47Shannon Jean: visibility into every other bot.
- 16:50Shannon Jean: I don't spin up a new bot. I always go to the chief of staff and let it do it.
- 16:54Dave Hamilton: That's interesting.
- 16:56Shannon Jean: Yeah, I always say, hey, I have this problem, and we were talking about it earlier.
- 16:59Shannon Jean: It's like, I need to, like, Grokbot just got access to all your DMs on X.
- 17:05Shannon Jean: And my DMs are out of control.
- 17:08Shannon Jean: I can't get back to them. And we were talking about organization is a problem, right?
- 17:12Shannon Jean: And consistency. And so I went to my chief of staff and I said,
- 17:18Shannon Jean: I read today that you now can access my DMs.
- 17:22Shannon Jean: How should we do this? I need somebody to help manage my DMs.
- 17:25Shannon Jean: And it goes, great, I'm going to spin up a DM bot for you, for X.
- 17:30Shannon Jean: And it will keep track of your DMs. It will remind you of new messages that come in.
- 17:36Shannon Jean: It will suggest responses and you can okay them.
- 17:40Shannon Jean: And so it's tracking all those messages for me so I don't have to go look at
- 17:44Shannon Jean: my DMs because it's a flood of, it's not productive.
- 17:49Dave Hamilton: It's not, no, it's, it's, it's impossible. Right. Yeah.
- 17:51Shannon Jean: It's impossible. So it tracks it and you can do the same thing with YouTube.
- 17:56Shannon Jean: I built a, uh, called YouTube desk that say, but I always start in the chief
- 18:00Shannon Jean: of staff. I don't know if that's the right way to do it.
- 18:03Dave Hamilton: No, I like this. I'm glad, I'm glad we're having this conversation because I
- 18:06Dave Hamilton: have not been doing that. Right. I've been using Claude the way that I've always
- 18:10Dave Hamilton: used it, where I just fire up a new chat. I put it in the, you know,
- 18:13Dave Hamilton: in a project or something. Yeah.
- 18:15Dave Hamilton: Yeah. And, but I'm not starting with the chief of staff and maybe that I'm going to try maybe that's the
- 18:22Shannon Jean: Link that maybe.
- 18:23Dave Hamilton: That's yeah maybe if it knows that it started then and it did give me it was
- 18:28Dave Hamilton: interesting it it said no I can probably see everything but if there's something
- 18:32Dave Hamilton: specific you want me to do I've created you a chief of staff skill
- 18:37Dave Hamilton: and it's slash cos and if I type slash cos in a chat I can add notes or whatever
- 18:43Dave Hamilton: and and so it's like okay like I get this like Like, yeah,
- 18:47Dave Hamilton: But I got to I got to look into that now along those same lines.
- 18:52Dave Hamilton: There are apps out there that can see everything you do on your computer.
- 18:57Dave Hamilton: And I started using one recently. They reached out to me because we,
- 19:00Dave Hamilton: you know, we talk about AI all the time.
- 19:02Dave Hamilton: It's an app called Project Mini Me.
- 19:05Dave Hamilton: Uh, and they did give me, they gave me an account. I don't know if it's free
- 19:08Dave Hamilton: or what, but you know, like I'm not paying for it. I don't know if it's free for any of you.
- 19:11Dave Hamilton: Uh, it's called project mini me M I N I M I.
- 19:15Dave Hamilton: And, uh, and it is something you give it on your Mac. You give it through access to three things.
- 19:24Dave Hamilton: Your and there is definitely a a psa beware here uh you give it access to your
- 19:31Dave Hamilton: microphone your speakers
- 19:35Dave Hamilton: maybe four things actually your microphone your system audio so they can hear
- 19:39Dave Hamilton: what sound is being played back for you and your
- 19:43Dave Hamilton: um screen so it can it can screen share it can just see everything on your screen
- 19:48Dave Hamilton: okay now it does have a privacy feature in it where you can tell it, do not
- 19:55Dave Hamilton: Uh you know monitor this app right okay that's good okay so if anything i do in that app
- 20:02Dave Hamilton: you're not gonna you're not gonna log it can see it the system you you have
- 20:06Dave Hamilton: you've told your system to allow it to see it so you're trusting that the app
- 20:09Dave Hamilton: is doing what i'm gonna log it built to you yeah if it's not making a mistake essentially which
- 20:14Dave Hamilton: ai makes mistakes all the time with things like this so bear this in mind um
- 20:20Dave Hamilton: And then because your browser you can't like if you tell it to block your browser
- 20:25Dave Hamilton: well then it's not going to see anything in your browser
- 20:27Dave Hamilton: you can tell it specific urls if i am at this url or at this domain or whatever
- 20:32Dave Hamilton: don't follow me yeah you know don't don't do that so you can put your bank in
- 20:36Dave Hamilton: you can put you know whatever you want
- 20:38Dave Hamilton: i highly if you do these things i highly recommend your password managers
- 20:43Dave Hamilton: right you're you know because you don't want it capturing that
- 20:46Dave Hamilton: anywhere that you're going to have passwords or api keys or anything like that
- 20:50Dave Hamilton: don't let it see those things
- 20:53Dave Hamilton: i'm certain that i am streaming all of everything that happens on my computer
- 20:56Dave Hamilton: to china you know that's just how that's working because that's where you're
- 20:59Dave Hamilton: going to get the cheapest models i know it like when i build things like this
- 21:02Dave Hamilton: that's what i use so it's fine you know um
- 21:06Dave Hamilton: so there's there's definitely a you know eyes wide open folks here and and even with that
- 21:11Dave Hamilton: think about the things you're not going to think about sure i asked claude i'm
- 21:15Dave Hamilton: like what do you think about this and it was like all right here's the things
- 21:17Dave Hamilton: you should block based on what i know about you and it was like oh i didn't
- 21:20Dave Hamilton: think about that website it's like yep yeah that's good yeah but
- 21:24Dave Hamilton: it's really cool because it is just literally watching and listening over your
- 21:29Dave Hamilton: shoulder all day long non-stop yeah
- 21:33Shannon Jean: It was like that it was an app a while back called limitless same kind of thing
- 21:36Shannon Jean: that would monitor or rewind they.
- 21:39Dave Hamilton: Call it okay where you can have
- 21:40Shannon Jean: Anything on your desktop it i find those helpful too but i i bring us back to the chief of staff.
- 21:46Dave Hamilton: Yeah, I mean, this is my chief of staff now, right?
- 21:49Shannon Jean: It's your chief of staff.
- 21:49Dave Hamilton: Yeah. It's very much that. You have one
- 21:51Shannon Jean: Spot that's like a hub for all this stuff. I find it very helpful.
- 21:59Shannon Jean: And I, you know...
- 22:00Shannon Jean: I think, you know, I'm kind of spread out on these different agents and I'm going to solidify.
- 22:06Shannon Jean: I lean more to, you know, GrokBot because it's so useful. And when I wake up
- 22:10Shannon Jean: in the morning, it's got all this stuff for me that I've been working on at night.
- 22:14Shannon Jean: It just keeps delivering and reminds, like all during the day,
- 22:17Shannon Jean: it's monitoring my content and making suggestions about comments and about this.
- 22:22Shannon Jean: You should do this. This is so good, man. Sure. It's really, really good.
- 22:25Dave Hamilton: I like it. Yep. Yeah. You need something. And I really think that what this
- 22:30Dave Hamilton: mini-me is doing is the model.
- 22:33Dave Hamilton: And again, I love that Apple just rolled out all their AI stuff and this leapfrogs them in a heartbeat.
- 22:44Shannon Jean: Yeah, they broke my heart.
- 22:48Dave Hamilton: If they make everybody wait a year for Apple to be able to do this,
- 22:55Dave Hamilton: it's too long. They can't keep doing this. They need to be faster.
- 22:59Shannon Jean: I think they need to acquire, just like XAI or SpaceX AI, whatever, acquired Cursor.
- 23:06Shannon Jean: And that's what accelerated them to be able to build GrokBot.
- 23:09Shannon Jean: It's Cursor. When you post into Slack from GrokBot, it says posted by Cursor. Yeah. You know, so-
- 23:15Shannon Jean: Apple should definitely, you know, they've got to do something.
- 23:18Shannon Jean: The hardware's great. We all love it.
- 23:20Shannon Jean: But Siri's, you know, not the best. Not the best. Not the best.
- 23:25Dave Hamilton: Not the best. We also have to make sure not to say that word on our podcast.
- 23:29Dave Hamilton: No, it was fine. It was smarter up until iOS 27.
- 23:35Dave Hamilton: And now it's less specific, right, in its tuning. Yeah.
- 23:41Dave Hamilton: So your voice, a year ago, your voice saying, yes, lady, wouldn't have triggered my phone.
- 23:47Dave Hamilton: Now, Apple does a thing when they do their events where they carve an EQ segment
- 23:53Dave Hamilton: out of that word every time so that it won't trigger people's phones. Doesn't work. Wow.
- 23:59Dave Hamilton: Even that doesn't work now. Yeah. So, like, we've had people write into Mac
- 24:04Dave Hamilton: Geekab where they're like, you said it, and it stopped my phone, right?
- 24:09Dave Hamilton: From you know they're like on car player whatever so they're playing it back
- 24:12Dave Hamilton: yeah it it hears it it pauses they don't respond because they're like nope wasn't
- 24:17Dave Hamilton: me and it rewinds 10 seconds and plays it again again they get into a loop oh my gosh
- 24:24Dave Hamilton: that's like dude that's ridiculous yeah so uh yeah but yes apple anyway
- 24:32Shannon Jean: Uh i think the big we're talking about the big takeaway we have at the end of
- 24:35Shannon Jean: every show we always like what's the most important thing that stuck out to me or today.
- 24:38Shannon Jean: For me, it's preparing your business to accept the influx of agents,
- 24:45Shannon Jean: whether you're on your website, your phone system, whatever it is,
- 24:49Shannon Jean: because it's coming. We're at early days.
- 24:52Shannon Jean: Everybody and their grandma is going to have some sort of agent on their phone
- 24:56Shannon Jean: that's going to be trying to connect and buy from you or book your service.
- 25:00Shannon Jean: And I think the time to get ready for it is now.
- 25:03Dave Hamilton: I don't disagree that that's important.
- 25:05Dave Hamilton: I do disagree that it is the most important thing we talked about.
- 25:09Dave Hamilton: I think having that chief of staff agent is going to level up your AI world
- 25:14Dave Hamilton: more than anything else. So that would be my... Sure. Well, that's okay.
- 25:19Shannon Jean: We're doing both.
- 25:20Dave Hamilton: Oh, we could do them both. That's true.
- 25:21Shannon Jean: We'll do them both. We'll do a business plan blueprint that we call them for
- 25:26Shannon Jean: each of these. You can find them at businessbrain.show slash blueprints.
- 25:30Shannon Jean: You can download those and get access to the hundreds of other ones that we
- 25:33Shannon Jean: have from previous episodes.
- 25:35Shannon Jean: And as always, we appreciate your support. Glad to have you here.
- 25:38Dave Hamilton: Thanks for hanging out, folks. Fun stuff. Feedback at businessbrain.show or
- 25:42Dave Hamilton: comment on the socials, and we'll see you there. Have a great weekend.
- 25:45Dave Hamilton: Keep on living that charmed life.
- 25:47Shannon Jean: See ya.
