- 0:00Speaker 1: Biotech, biotech checking. We haven't talked about biotech in a while,
- 0:05Speaker 1: but you know in in in the Age of ai
- 0:09Speaker 1: H and I thought it was interesting that in video
- 0:11Speaker 1: when we spoke, when we spoke with some of the
- 0:13Speaker 1: people in the video, that we had a couple of
- 0:15Speaker 1: panels that some of the employees spoke on and probably
- 0:20Speaker 1: the number one thing that was talked about was medical Okay, yep,
- 0:24Speaker 1: probably for like over twenty minutes, they had a detailed
- 0:27Speaker 1: conversation about medical advancements and how their technology is going
- 0:34Speaker 1: to change medicine as far as you know, hospital experiences
- 0:39Speaker 1: and inpatient visits, doctors, different things that nature. That gave
- 0:43Speaker 1: us a whole a whole blueprint of how you know,
- 0:46Speaker 1: the medical industry will change because of artificial intelligence and
- 0:50Speaker 1: their technology specifically and the things that they were working
- 0:53Speaker 1: on when it comes to the medical field. So that's
- 0:57Speaker 1: one aspect of it. But you know, the biotech is
- 1:00Speaker 1: a big industry, So what's the biotech check in?
- 1:05Speaker 2: And I want to say, off of that point, for
- 1:07Speaker 2: those who think that in video trade is done, I
- 1:13Speaker 2: just want to be very clear, not just because I
- 1:15Speaker 2: picked it and YadA YadA. In video is like the
- 1:19Speaker 2: Blackrock of AI. I will say that we can talk
- 1:21Speaker 2: about it more in detail, but given how much they're
- 1:24Speaker 2: investing into the space and how they have their partnership structure,
- 1:27Speaker 2: I think it's fascinating. But on the biotech side, these
- 1:31Speaker 2: are three that you can write down, so you have
- 1:33Speaker 2: the ETF side. IBB great return, so if you don't
- 1:37Speaker 2: want to have to guess which ones to invest in,
- 1:39Speaker 2: you can just invest in the basket of them. Number
- 1:42Speaker 2: two Gilead, Gilead Scientists is an incredible company, has been
- 1:47Speaker 2: through and through. And number three is one that's been
- 1:50Speaker 2: in stock club forever and one that I don't talk
- 1:52Speaker 2: about publicly, and it's outpacing a lot of companies year
- 1:56Speaker 2: over year, and that's Amgen. I think Amgen's probably one
- 2:00Speaker 2: one of the greatest companies on the planet and one
- 2:01Speaker 2: of the best run ones in the biotech space. And
- 2:05Speaker 2: also Nvidia and Lily has the partnership. So it's a
- 2:09Speaker 2: lot of exciting things with AI. This happened as a result.
- 2:13Speaker 2: But if I had to put my money all on three,
- 2:14Speaker 2: it would be IBB, Amgen, which has been a top
- 2:17Speaker 2: picking stock stock club forever, and Gilead Sciences. That will
- 2:20Speaker 2: round up my top three.
- 2:22Speaker 3: There's a solid three. That's a solid three. Obviously we'll go,
- 2:25Speaker 3: We'll go, Lily, And I think, like you said, just
- 2:28Speaker 3: sometimes things don't need to be explicitly explained to you.
- 2:32Speaker 3: It's like the implicit intrinsic value of what's being said.
- 2:35Speaker 3: And like you said, when you sit there and you
- 2:37Speaker 3: listen to engineers in the field of healthcare when it
- 2:40Speaker 3: relates to AI and how the timeframes that it takes
- 2:44Speaker 3: to do things has just been shortened by technology.
- 2:47Speaker 2: Right.
- 2:47Speaker 3: They talked about doing genail and how it used to
- 2:50Speaker 3: take eight years and now they've got it down to
- 2:52Speaker 3: four hours, and like, what's that going to be in
- 2:54Speaker 3: the next three years? Is it take two? I mean,
- 2:56Speaker 3: just insanity, So I would take a different three. I
- 3:00Speaker 3: love your three. I just want to add and give
- 3:02Speaker 3: people as much value as possible. So I have literally
- 3:05Speaker 3: obviously as one, I have biogen. And this is interesting
- 3:10Speaker 3: because when when you hear biogen, the ticker is b
- 3:13Speaker 3: I I B. This is one that focuses on specific things, right,
- 3:18Speaker 3: So when I'm talking about in the world of biotech,
- 3:23Speaker 3: do they dominate in a specific area, right, Like when
- 3:26Speaker 3: we talk about GLPS, who's the dominant player in that,
- 3:29Speaker 3: like Biogen is a dominant in the neuro degenerative drugs. Right,
- 3:34Speaker 3: So we're talking about things that help treat Alzheimer's, things
- 3:37Speaker 3: that help to treat Parkinson's disease. They are leaders in that,
- 3:41Speaker 3: So Biogen would be one because I think the science
- 3:44Speaker 3: that is going to prevail in the future will go
- 3:46Speaker 3: into that space. How do we make things that were
- 3:49Speaker 3: once not curable now curable?
- 3:51Speaker 1: Right?
- 3:52Speaker 3: How do we shorten the time for that? And then
- 3:54Speaker 3: I got a sleeper here, man, I watched the chart
- 3:57Speaker 3: and obviously you know the topic list here, but Vertex's
- 3:59Speaker 3: pharmaceuticals ticker vr X another one that if you look
- 4:06Speaker 3: specifically at what they do and what they dominate at, Yeah,
- 4:10Speaker 3: is it an over leveraging the sense because they're dominant
- 4:13Speaker 3: at one thing? Well, we just talked about the riches
- 4:17Speaker 3: in those niches, right, and so they specifically focus on
- 4:20Speaker 3: being dominant in the treatment and care of CISTE fibrosis.
- 4:24Speaker 3: That is their thing, right, They're not doing glps. That
- 4:27Speaker 3: is their thing. That's been their thing, and they've dominated
- 4:29Speaker 3: at that. And so when you and this is a tricky,
- 4:33Speaker 3: tricky sector when we're talking about biotech, we talked about
- 4:37Speaker 3: this years ago. Yeah, it can come and it can go,
- 4:40Speaker 3: and it's tough to predict because science takes time. Cures
- 4:44Speaker 3: take time, treatments take time, testing, trials, all those things
- 4:48Speaker 3: factor in, pricing, factors in, and so it's a tough
- 4:50Speaker 3: sector to deal with. But I like the ones that
- 4:53Speaker 3: dominate in specific things, and so Lily, obviously, Biogen and
- 4:56Speaker 3: Vertex all have different dominant features, different things that they do,
- 5:00Speaker 3: but they're leading in those spaces.
- 5:03Speaker 2: Yeah, they remind me a little bit of Nvidio when
- 5:06Speaker 2: a m D was in the leite. They were so
- 5:07Speaker 2: good at one thing, eventually you would see them branch
- 5:10Speaker 2: out to others. Definitely a sleeper, and in this case,
- 5:14Speaker 2: the cream rises to the top. Like they've had some
- 5:17Speaker 2: tumultuous years. Twenty two is kind of tough. But with
- 5:20Speaker 2: this list Vertex, Amgen, Biogen, gilly ad like the cream
- 5:26Speaker 2: rose to the top. The players that were kind of
- 5:29Speaker 2: on the fringes have died out, So I don't think
- 5:31Speaker 2: you can go wrong with this list.
- 5:34Speaker 3: Yes, shout outs to the chat they got some of
- 5:36Speaker 3: these in their portfolios already already, Yep, after them.
- 5:41Speaker 1: Okay, but what do these be? What these be advisable investments.
- 5:46Speaker 2: No, absolutely, Amgen is one of the top performers in
- 5:49Speaker 2: stock Club. Stock Club. If you're in the chat for
- 5:52Speaker 2: fire and chat, if am Gen has been performing well,
- 5:54Speaker 2: for sure, Amgen, for sure, IBB great exposure, Gilliat would
- 5:58Speaker 2: be third. But if you just do ib am Gin
- 6:00Speaker 2: and Lily, Holy Trinity, Holy Trinity, you think speed felt good?
- 6:05Speaker 2: What I show speed portfolio for sure, IBB, am Gen
- 6:11Speaker 2: and Lily together, great combination, great combination.
- 6:16Speaker 1: Shout out to in Video once again. Yeah, they definitely
- 6:20Speaker 1: talked a lot about healthcare, and I think that was
- 6:23Speaker 1: the key takeaway at least for me, was you know,
- 6:25Speaker 1: they really hammered it that they're not they don't make anything.
- 6:28Speaker 1: They said that Haraian different times. It's like, we don't,
- 6:30Speaker 1: we don't make anything. You know, they're a software company.
- 6:33Speaker 1: They talked about that also, like most people think their
- 6:35Speaker 1: hardware company is actually a software company. And so when
- 6:39Speaker 1: you think of in video, most people thinking video as
- 6:41Speaker 1: a chip company. But I look at in video as
- 6:45Speaker 1: a medical company, as a gaming company, as a sports company,
- 6:51Speaker 1: because it's every it's everything everybody anything you put their
- 6:56Speaker 1: technology in, that's what it is. So medical industry. They
- 7:01Speaker 1: was very very enthusiastic about that, spoke a lot about that,
- 7:05Speaker 1: So that should give you some insight if you're interested
- 7:08Speaker 1: as far as where they're thinking about going. They also
- 7:11Speaker 1: spoke about robotics. They also spoke about autonomous driving vehicles,
- 7:16Speaker 1: and they showed us their garage, the autonomous driving garage.
- 7:19Speaker 1: So that's a few things that you guys might be
- 7:22Speaker 1: interested in if they if you're interested in as far
- 7:24Speaker 1: as some insight into the company, and shout out to
- 7:27Speaker 1: Peter and Nas. You know, when we came back, when
- 7:29Speaker 1: we came back from in Video, we had dinner with
- 7:32Speaker 1: Nas and we was talking about in video.
- 7:34Speaker 3: We gotta let that breathe like that brief in two seconds.
- 7:39Speaker 2: He's been breathing over these things. So I was on
- 7:41Speaker 2: the phone with a million the other.
- 7:42Speaker 3: Day like, oh yeah that Nas, Yeah, that got you
- 7:48Speaker 3: that That never that always is going to be like
- 7:52Speaker 3: pretty surreal, Like you walk into the restaurant and it's no,
- 7:55Speaker 3: what's up, Troy, It's good, let's go, Like it's just
- 7:58Speaker 3: huh what man.
- 8:00Speaker 2: He's one of the greatest investors, like hands out of
- 8:02Speaker 2: this era. Like if you put his returns up against
- 8:05Speaker 2: any VC firm. It's not talked about in that light,
- 8:09Speaker 2: but he's outperformed majority of them.
- 8:12Speaker 1: Well, the thing and the reason why I said that
- 8:13Speaker 1: is the reason why could you know obviously he's on
- 8:15Speaker 1: a run right now. He's involved in the casino. You know,
- 8:19Speaker 1: everybody's seeing his investment portfolio. Massive Pill arguably had the
- 8:23Speaker 1: best year in rap as far as all the albums
- 8:25Speaker 1: that they put out. But you know, with him, he
- 8:28Speaker 1: was just like, yo, damn, I gotta learn about He's like, yo,
- 8:32Speaker 1: y'all gotta next time. Y'all got to take me like
- 8:34Speaker 1: d like asking us questions like Yo, what they what
- 8:37Speaker 1: was they talking about? What did they have?
- 8:38Speaker 3: Like?
- 8:39Speaker 1: So I say that to say he's obviously extremely successful person. Right,
- 8:42Speaker 1: That's that goes what I'm saying. But he spent more
- 8:47Speaker 1: time asking questions than talking. So somebody like somebody like
- 8:53Speaker 1: that who's a legend icon, can you know, spend time
- 9:00Speaker 1: asking questions? You gotta you gotta be able to you know,
- 9:06Speaker 1: receive the information. And that's why this show is so
- 9:08Speaker 1: And his partner Peter, he was like he actually he
- 9:11Speaker 1: actually watches market mondays and implements on the information. So
- 9:16Speaker 1: you know, it's just at the highest level possible. People
- 9:18Speaker 1: is paying attention and listening, so never take the information
- 9:21Speaker 1: for granted.
- 9:22Speaker 3: Please don't, please don't. It was so dope because he
- 9:25Speaker 3: references in video on the new album when he heard
- 9:29Speaker 3: that we win, it was just like he was like
- 9:31Speaker 3: a sponge like yo word. He's like, I think I
- 9:34Speaker 3: met the CEO once, man, like he's a good guy.
- 9:37Speaker 1: It was.
- 9:38Speaker 3: It was really surreal. Man.
- 9:39Speaker 1: Yeah, shout out to nas Man. Somebody said, Nazia Jones.
- 9:42Speaker 1: There's only one
