- 0:00Speaker 1: This is the Ben and Ashley I Almost Famous podcast
- 0:03Speaker 1: with iHeartRadio.
- 0:06Speaker 2: It's the Almost Famous podcast, and we are continuing to
- 0:08Speaker 2: be your place to go to to get all the
- 0:10Speaker 2: breaking news on your upcoming Bachelor Atte Taylor Frankie Paul.
- 0:14Speaker 2: As we get closer and closer to her season premiering
- 0:17Speaker 2: this weekend, we do have some things we want to
- 0:20Speaker 2: discuss we need to discuss. This morning, Taylor made an
- 0:23Speaker 2: appearance on Good Morning America after attending a media dinner
- 0:27Speaker 2: last night. We're going to cover her GMA segment from
- 0:32Speaker 2: this morning. But first off, what were you expecting when
- 0:38Speaker 2: she announced that they were going to air a segment
- 0:41Speaker 2: with her on GMA? And what did you think of
- 0:43Speaker 2: her segment once you saw it? Please leave your comments below.
- 0:49Speaker 2: We had a big day yesterday, Heather. You were on
- 0:53Speaker 2: air all day and also on the computer and the
- 0:58Speaker 2: cell phone, finding every headline and every source we could
- 1:02Speaker 2: to try to piece together what exactly is happening in
- 1:05Speaker 2: this in this moment and what exactly this news of
- 1:12Speaker 2: the cameras shutting down on secret lives and Mormon wives means.
- 1:16Speaker 2: There's a lot of allegations out there. I can't say
- 1:20Speaker 2: that we have a lot of clarity, and Heather, let's
- 1:23Speaker 2: start by saying GMA gave me less clarity.
- 1:28Speaker 3: I would have to agree with that. I was actually
- 1:31Speaker 3: not expecting a segment. I was expecting a sit down interview.
- 1:35Speaker 3: I was expecting, like teasing, probably all morning we'll be
- 1:38Speaker 3: having the exclusive with Taylor, Frankie, Paul Blink and you
- 1:42Speaker 3: miss it. That was real, real quick to get her
- 1:45Speaker 3: in and out.
- 1:46Speaker 2: I'm trying to make sense of all of this. Domestic
- 1:49Speaker 2: violence is obviously a massive issue. It is, it is
- 1:52Speaker 2: a massive problem, but these are still we don't even
- 1:56Speaker 2: know exactly the details of what happened, Like we don't
- 2:01Speaker 2: know anything. So we're piecing together from sources and again
- 2:06Speaker 2: we're bringing in allegations that are have yet to be
- 2:11Speaker 2: proven true. But yet something's happened. That's obvious because she
- 2:15Speaker 2: went on GMA. So that happened, and the cameras shut
- 2:18Speaker 2: down at Secret Lives of Mormon lives, so we're basing
- 2:21Speaker 2: everything off of that. This GMA segment felt, I mean,
- 2:25Speaker 2: one what they do flyer in yesterday say hey, tomorrow
- 2:29Speaker 2: you're gonna jump on air, and it was I would say,
- 2:34Speaker 2: like pointless to me. It just didn't mean anything.
- 2:39Speaker 3: She seemed unprepared to me, is that how you felt
- 2:41Speaker 3: watching it?
- 2:42Speaker 2: Unprepared and probably told it seemed like she was told, hey,
- 2:46Speaker 2: don't really say anything, speak about your emotion. So she says,
- 2:50Speaker 2: it's a heavy time. I can't disagree with that, but
- 2:55Speaker 2: there was no like digging into the details. There was
- 2:58Speaker 2: a lot of kind of umbrella speak, as I would
- 3:02Speaker 2: call it, just glazing over things.
- 3:04Speaker 3: And it makes sense you call it umbrella speak. I
- 3:06Speaker 3: call it word salad.
- 3:08Speaker 2: Word salad. And again, no matter what happened here, I
- 3:14Speaker 2: get that, But why have her on if you know
- 3:17Speaker 2: that's going to be the outcome?
- 3:18Speaker 3: I agree, I was expecting more. I was expecting also
- 3:23Speaker 3: maybe some sign of emotion, something a little choked up,
- 3:27Speaker 3: maybe a little bit of a tear, and we didn't
- 3:30Speaker 3: get that either. She seemed perplexed by the first couple
- 3:36Speaker 3: of questions, and basically Laura Spencer starts by giving her
- 3:40Speaker 3: the opportunity to speak about the domestic violence headlines, which
- 3:45Speaker 3: I had a feeling she wasn't going to say much
- 3:48Speaker 3: in regards to that.
- 3:50Speaker 2: Well, nor should she, because right it's still I don't
- 3:54Speaker 2: even know if it's under investigation.
- 3:55Speaker 3: It's it's ongoing.
- 3:58Speaker 2: It's ongoing, so there's a very little she could say
- 4:00Speaker 2: in general. She didn't make this comment. Heather and I
- 4:04Speaker 2: want to dig into it a little bit. On the
- 4:07Speaker 2: Vile Files, they had two guests on about nine months ago.
- 4:10Speaker 2: They've reshared this, and the guests claim that Dakota sabotages
- 4:16Speaker 2: these big moments for Taylor. Yes, we don't know if
- 4:19Speaker 2: that's true or not, but this is what the two
- 4:20Speaker 2: guests on the Vile Files was sharing. And then Taylor
- 4:24Speaker 2: Yes or today and her interview shared that it's unfortunate
- 4:28Speaker 2: that this premiere something exciting for her now is kind
- 4:31Speaker 2: of a heavy time. It kind of feels like if
- 4:35Speaker 2: you read through the lines, those three Taylor and the
- 4:39Speaker 2: two guests and the Vile Files are trying to say
- 4:41Speaker 2: something without actually saying it.
- 4:44Speaker 3: I would say that there could be truth to that,
- 4:48Speaker 3: but I have to keep going back to the fact
- 4:50Speaker 3: that this happened three weeks ago.
- 4:53Speaker 4: Yeah, it's not right.
- 4:53Speaker 3: It happened two days ago, right before your premiere. It
- 4:57Speaker 3: happened three weeks ago. Whatever this situation was, and it's
- 5:02Speaker 3: been being kept under wraps. Now is that close to
- 5:05Speaker 3: your premiere and has the chance to ruin your premiere. Absolutely,
- 5:09Speaker 3: but it doesn't feel It feels like when somebody says
- 5:15Speaker 3: that that it's coming across as like they're doing this
- 5:19Speaker 3: because of my premiere. Again, we don't know. We don't
- 5:23Speaker 3: know what the inner workings of her relationship is with
- 5:26Speaker 3: Dakota and if this is calculated, but we do know
- 5:30Speaker 3: that the cops were called like that, there's proof of that.
- 5:34Speaker 5: Hey, guys, jumping in here, so sorry, my phone was
- 5:37Speaker 5: on silent and I lost track of time. I was
- 5:41Speaker 5: just thinking, you know, I was just like in deep
- 5:43Speaker 5: thought and I lost track of time about this interview
- 5:45Speaker 5: because I found it to be the strangeous thing. I'm
- 5:49Speaker 5: assuming you guys have already approached that.
- 5:52Speaker 3: We said a whole lot of nothing was said up top,
- 5:56Speaker 3: and word salad is what I used, and said umbrella
- 6:02Speaker 3: something umbrella is that like, a whole lot of mess
- 6:07Speaker 3: is what we meant. Okay, but I'm interested to hear
- 6:11Speaker 3: what you think Ashley about. You know, let's jump into
- 6:14Speaker 3: the part where, uh, they said that they reached out
- 6:17Speaker 3: to Dakota for a response. The look on her face
- 6:21Speaker 3: was extremely shocked when they said.
- 6:23Speaker 5: That, this is obviously one of those interviews where it's
- 6:26Speaker 5: within the network, it was set up or ren This
- 6:30Speaker 5: is like a pr move. This isn't like going to
- 6:32Speaker 5: be some sort of you know, political type of interview.
- 6:38Speaker 5: Like she should be knowing exactly what's coming at her.
- 6:41Speaker 5: She didn't know that was coming at her. Laura just
- 6:44Speaker 5: threw that at her.
- 6:46Speaker 3: She felt very ill prepared for this. Just the look
- 6:49Speaker 3: on her face and how she was searching for answers
- 6:52Speaker 3: as she was speaking. That's what I think when you
- 6:54Speaker 3: know it's a word solid is when somebody's talking, talking, talking,
- 6:58Speaker 3: hoping that the answer will find them as they're speaking.
- 7:01Speaker 3: That's what I think we were experiencing as viewers today.
- 7:05Speaker 5: But Okay, so the question is how did this the
- 7:08Speaker 5: inner workings at ABC network together here to prepare her
- 7:11Speaker 5: for this interview. Don't you feel like it was almost
- 7:15Speaker 5: like Good Morning America wanted to catch her in awkwardness.
- 7:22Speaker 3: I think they were soft, just in general, I thought
- 7:25Speaker 3: that they were soft. I would love to hear from
- 7:28Speaker 3: Ben as a lead as to the amount of media
- 7:31Speaker 3: training that the lead typically goes through, because I'm going
- 7:34Speaker 3: to take a gander here and say that she's not
- 7:37Speaker 3: even gone through a fraction of that.
- 7:40Speaker 2: The media training was light to say, say it nicely.
- 7:45Speaker 2: I mean there was some helpful things. They would ask
- 7:47Speaker 2: you the most intense questions in a group of people
- 7:52Speaker 2: and give you no reaction and just kind of kind
- 7:56Speaker 2: of criticize your responses. There was also moments where I
- 8:00Speaker 2: felt like they didn't want you prepared, and I honestly
- 8:04Speaker 2: kind of enjoyed those more. You know, when it came
- 8:07Speaker 2: down to like finale for me, they didn't want me prepared.
- 8:10Speaker 2: They want me they wanted me thrown off. They wanted
- 8:12Speaker 2: me to have to respond. Just from a a fan perspective,
- 8:18Speaker 2: I want her authentic in her response. I don't want
- 8:22Speaker 2: her prepared. I don't want her to be coached up
- 8:25Speaker 2: on what to say and not to say. If these
- 8:28Speaker 2: allegations are true, no matter what happens with the show,
- 8:35Speaker 2: I want to know what she thinks about it, what
- 8:38Speaker 2: she feels about it, what she is doing about it,
- 8:41Speaker 2: what she thinks about you know, the relationship with Dakota.
- 8:44Speaker 2: She said even in this interview that there was a
- 8:47Speaker 2: toxicity in Utah. I'm assuming when she says that that
- 8:52Speaker 2: that means not only kind of a peer group, but
- 8:55Speaker 2: also a past relationship that continues to bring out something
- 8:58Speaker 2: negative in her. Even if they're there is an attraction
- 9:02Speaker 2: there and a connection there, it doesn't bring out the
- 9:05Speaker 2: best of her. I want to hear what she says
- 9:07Speaker 2: about that. I think this interview, I don't know. I'm
- 9:10Speaker 2: not a PR expert. I think they were going to
- 9:13Speaker 2: get criticized either way. But I do think it goes
- 9:16Speaker 2: better for everybody if we watch it and say, yes, Okay,
- 9:21Speaker 2: I might not agree, but at least I know where
- 9:24Speaker 2: you're at. I watched this and I said, I have
- 9:27Speaker 2: less of an idea of where.
- 9:28Speaker 3: She's at as somebody watched her for multiple seasons. This
- 9:32Speaker 3: was not authentic Taylor.
- 9:34Speaker 5: She was trying to be very careful, which she's usually
- 9:36Speaker 5: not trying to be careful. Now when I'm watching this,
- 9:39Speaker 5: I think, oh, wow, she seems very guilty because she's
- 9:42Speaker 5: not denying it. But then my thought is, oh, is
- 9:46Speaker 5: this a legality thing? She literally can say anything.
- 9:50Speaker 3: She for sure can't say anything because if this moves forward, right,
- 9:54Speaker 3: anything that she has said in the press will be
- 9:57Speaker 3: used against her. So if this ends up moving forward
- 10:02Speaker 3: into something more serious than what we know, So of
- 10:05Speaker 3: course I didn't expect her to say details about that.
- 10:10Speaker 3: I think for me, I was expecting emotion. I was
- 10:14Speaker 3: expecting I'm a flawed person. I'm still learning Bachelor Nation.
- 10:20Speaker 3: Please give me a chance. Like that's the kind of
- 10:23Speaker 3: stuff I was expecting to hear today.
- 10:25Speaker 5: Yeah, I feel like she's just trying to tiptoe the
- 10:28Speaker 5: line of like she doesn't want to sound guilty, so
- 10:30Speaker 5: she doesn't want to show too much emotion.
- 10:43Speaker 2: A few key points from this interview that sit out.
- 10:47Speaker 2: Taylor did have a few quotes. I want to just
- 10:49Speaker 2: kind of give through the the topics if you didn't
- 10:52Speaker 2: get to watch it. Taylor's quoted by saying, I'm a
- 10:56Speaker 2: person that will always speak my truth, and that's what
- 10:59Speaker 2: I'm known for. And she says she'll do that when
- 11:02Speaker 2: the time is right. That makes sense based on everything
- 11:06Speaker 2: we're saying. Lara Spencer, who conducted the interview, said that
- 11:11Speaker 2: they reached out to Dakota but did not get a
- 11:13Speaker 2: response from him. I'm not shocked. The final really standout
- 11:17Speaker 2: quote Taylor responds to one of Lara's questions about what
- 11:21Speaker 2: she envisions for the future of the show, and she said,
- 11:24Speaker 2: it's hard to say now, just because you know everything
- 11:27Speaker 2: going on. It's hard to see past this. I'm not
- 11:31Speaker 2: gonna lie in this moment. It's just so heavy when
- 11:35Speaker 2: your life is broadcasted out there in these headlines. It's
- 11:38Speaker 2: like the end of the world. I thought that was,
- 11:43Speaker 2: for me, the most genuine moment of this interview. I'm
- 11:48Speaker 2: not saying Taylor's not genuine. If there's one word to describe,
- 11:52Speaker 2: if there's multiple ways to describe Taylor Franky Paul, but
- 11:54Speaker 2: one of them is genuine. I mean, it might not
- 11:57Speaker 2: always be a genuine this. You're like, yeah, that's what
- 12:00Speaker 2: I would say and do. But she's always been very
- 12:04Speaker 2: vulnerable to her fans, to the show. She's put her
- 12:08Speaker 2: life out there. So her saying in this moment it
- 12:12Speaker 2: feels like the end of the world goes back to
- 12:15Speaker 2: our conversation yesterday was yeah, I'm not shocked that it
- 12:20Speaker 2: is I and honestly I feel for you in that,
- 12:23Speaker 2: But yet you did an interview this morning, and you
- 12:27Speaker 2: did a press dinner last night, Like it's just making
- 12:31Speaker 2: things worse, Like if it feels like the end of
- 12:34Speaker 2: the world, and yet you're getting thrown out there to
- 12:36Speaker 2: the Oscars and a press dinner and then on GMA
- 12:39Speaker 2: the next day. Every day is going to have a
- 12:42Speaker 2: reminder of what bad is happening, which leaves no time
- 12:46Speaker 2: for the healing or the reflection or the deep breast
- 12:52Speaker 2: to say, wow, like things have gotten out of control
- 12:55Speaker 2: for me. No, you're so busy, you're flying across country
- 12:58Speaker 2: every day.
- 13:00Speaker 5: Yeah, those are really good points. Really have to worry
- 13:02Speaker 5: about our mental health right now. It's like kind of scary.
- 13:05Speaker 5: She says, it's the end of the world.
- 13:07Speaker 2: I don't know. I'm having a hard time processing obviously.
- 13:12Speaker 2: Here we've broken down Taylor Frankie Paul every Friday. And
- 13:15Speaker 2: I said it last Frankie Friday. I said, I'm really
- 13:18Speaker 2: starting to understand why Taylor Frankie Paul is the lead
- 13:21Speaker 2: of the show. Like, I'm starting to see that picture.
- 13:23Speaker 2: She's she's vulnerable, she speaks her mind, she is not
- 13:30Speaker 2: afraid to share what she's thinking any given moment. She's
- 13:33Speaker 2: a leader. I still agree with all those things. I'm
- 13:38Speaker 2: not backtracking on that statement. I started to see it,
- 13:42Speaker 2: but I'm also now seeing another side where I'm like,
- 13:44Speaker 2: was she is this good for.
- 13:46Speaker 3: No, it's I think we're all in agreement. It's not
- 13:49Speaker 3: right now. She really needs I think some serious help
- 13:53Speaker 3: beyond whatever she's been doing. I believe she has been
- 13:56Speaker 3: doing therapy and she's been open, but I think she
- 13:59Speaker 3: needs something more intensive, Like this is too much pressure,
- 14:04Speaker 3: and you've said it so many times, Ben, She's crying
- 14:08Speaker 3: for help, and I'm concerned that nobody's listening around her.
- 14:13Speaker 2: It feels like she's on Instagram being like, hey, I
- 14:15Speaker 2: need a break, and the show is saying, hey, come
- 14:18Speaker 2: to this next event.
- 14:21Speaker 5: Yeah, this was too much for really, like any person
- 14:23Speaker 5: to take on. How are you supposed to have two shows.
- 14:28Speaker 2: Two shows, three kids?
- 14:30Speaker 4: Three kids?
- 14:31Speaker 3: And I think, guys that she might have been filming
- 14:34Speaker 3: both at the same time for a period of time,
- 14:38Speaker 3: because in this recent season of Secret Lives, the girls
- 14:42Speaker 3: that were doing Dancing with the Stars, they still made
- 14:45Speaker 3: them film Secret Lives at the same time. Yeah, I
- 14:48Speaker 3: think she was having to do this Bachelorette and Secret
- 14:52Speaker 3: Lives at the same time. She's just had no breaks.
- 14:55Speaker 2: But here's the other side of this. And I don't
- 14:57Speaker 2: mean this to like keep us safe. I just mean it.
- 15:03Speaker 2: It still does. I mean there's it's still allegations. It
- 15:06Speaker 2: still doesn't excuse domestic violence, of course, of course, but
- 15:09Speaker 2: again we don't know the details yet enough to make
- 15:12Speaker 2: a strong statement on that. But just because you're tired
- 15:18Speaker 2: and just because you're busy does not excuse the actions
- 15:22Speaker 2: and behaviors that would lead to what allegedly is a
- 15:26Speaker 2: domestic violence issue. So that still has to be noted
- 15:30Speaker 2: that that I cannot, you know, makes sense ever make
- 15:34Speaker 2: an excuse for I think we're all talking from a
- 15:38Speaker 2: level of hey, maybe this, like maybe the signs were
- 15:42Speaker 2: on the wall that something wasn't right. Now, Again, we
- 15:44Speaker 2: haven't really been able to take us firm stance yet
- 15:47Speaker 2: on what exactly happened between her and Dakota. And there's
- 15:49Speaker 2: a reason for that. There's not a lot of information
- 15:51Speaker 2: out there. There's some headlines, there's some articles with some
- 15:54Speaker 2: alleged like but even those articles from trusted sources are different.
- 16:00Speaker 2: They're saying different things with different things happening. We can't
- 16:03Speaker 2: make a statement on that yet. I think the last
- 16:06Speaker 2: few days have been making statements on hey, maybe we
- 16:10Speaker 2: should have saw this coming, like not domestic violence, but
- 16:15Speaker 2: something bad happening, something that would be a pivot point
- 16:19Speaker 2: for the show, something that would cause Taylor, Frankie Paul
- 16:22Speaker 2: to have to go on GMA to make a statement
- 16:25Speaker 2: like maybe we should have paid attention to that. And
- 16:31Speaker 2: then as obviously more information comes out, we can speak
- 16:34Speaker 2: to exactly what happened that in that altercation, if there
- 16:37Speaker 2: was one. Again, we don't even really know if there
- 16:40Speaker 2: was one. Taylor didn't say it this morning, you know
- 16:42Speaker 2: there was something.
- 16:43Speaker 5: She definitely keeps alluding to it as headlines, not as
- 16:48Speaker 5: anything else like or like, you know, relationship situations or anything.
- 16:51Speaker 4: It's the headlines, which is a tactic.
- 16:55Speaker 5: And then did we talk about the fact that Laura
- 16:59Speaker 5: called her out up being producer on Mormon Wives, which
- 17:02Speaker 5: was but I'm gonna.
- 17:03Speaker 2: Let you guys continue from here. I do have a
- 17:05Speaker 2: call with a source that I got to jump on
- 17:08Speaker 2: right now, So I'm gonna jump you guys take it
- 17:10Speaker 2: over from here, and I'm sure we'll be back in
- 17:13Speaker 2: the next day or so, maybe even today, who knows,
- 17:16Speaker 2: sharing any new information that comes out.
- 17:18Speaker 3: Thanks Ben. We did not get to that yet, Ashley.
- 17:21Speaker 3: But honestly, too, that was the point where I went,
- 17:25Speaker 3: I went like, I had to like laugh for a second,
- 17:29Speaker 3: because it's like that should have been a straightforward answer.
- 17:33Speaker 3: What she said was correct, like that she said that
- 17:36Speaker 3: the shutdown had nothing to do with her.
- 17:39Speaker 4: She didn't make the decision, but her actions dead.
- 17:42Speaker 3: Actions did so she needed to say. First of all,
- 17:45Speaker 3: the way she was asked, did you know that we
- 17:48Speaker 3: heard productions been shut down? And she said something like,
- 17:51Speaker 3: oh yeah, I heard that. She had been a straightforward
- 17:54Speaker 3: answer of yes, it is currently shut down, because the
- 17:58Speaker 3: follow up question of aren't you in executive producer made
- 18:01Speaker 3: her look really stupid, and then her respont's answer to
- 18:05Speaker 3: that saying saying, oh, yeah, I heard that this season.
- 18:11Speaker 3: That's a lie. I will just say that that is a.
- 18:15Speaker 5: False What do you mean, oh yeah, this season? What
- 18:19Speaker 5: when she said oh yeah, oh she found out about
- 18:21Speaker 5: her being like an honorary producer.
- 18:24Speaker 3: That is not how things work. Yeah, that was a
- 18:27Speaker 3: huge contract negotiation. And again I was like, you're answering
- 18:31Speaker 3: this wrong. Just be like you are correct. I am
- 18:34Speaker 3: an executive producer on the show, but I don't have
- 18:37Speaker 3: anything to do with the production schedule of the show.
- 18:40Speaker 3: Like the way she responded to that was wrong in
- 18:46Speaker 3: my opinion.
- 18:47Speaker 4: Oh yeah, yeah, definitely. Oh and that this.
- 18:52Speaker 5: Is a demonstration to me that it was and I
- 18:55Speaker 5: appreciate this. I appreciate that it was like an actual
- 18:58Speaker 5: news segment and not ju a pr moment to try
- 19:03Speaker 5: to straighten things out. Laura was like, I'm actually going
- 19:05Speaker 5: to ask her a hard question right now.
- 19:07Speaker 3: I thought I was expecting longer First of all, I
- 19:11Speaker 3: was not expected. I was expecting maybe top of the show,
- 19:17Speaker 3: a little bit end of the show, maybe another clip
- 19:20Speaker 3: of the sit down interview. I was expecting longer content,
- 19:25Speaker 3: and I was expecting to see a range of emotions.
- 19:29Speaker 3: And you don't have to have the emotion when you're
- 19:32Speaker 3: talking about the questionable act that we can't go into
- 19:38Speaker 3: detail on. But when she said my kids are my everything,
- 19:42Speaker 3: that would have been an opportune time to show some
- 19:47Speaker 3: sort of emotion. I think she was very much trying
- 19:49Speaker 3: to keep it together because I think authentic Raw Taylor
- 19:54Speaker 3: would have shown emotion because she can't hold that back
- 19:57Speaker 3: in her dating life. So, I mean, neither of us
- 20:02Speaker 3: know what it would be like to be in this
- 20:03Speaker 3: kind of situation. We've never had, you know, this amount
- 20:07Speaker 3: of eyes and this amount of media attention in our lives.
- 20:12Speaker 3: But it wasn't what I was expecting.
- 20:15Speaker 5: I know many either, It's just get into a very
- 20:19Speaker 5: weird spot like this was supposed to.
- 20:21Speaker 4: Heal things, and I don't think it did a thing.
- 20:24Speaker 3: I don't think it did a thing either.
- 20:26Speaker 4: I also not that it was supposed to heal things.
- 20:27Speaker 4: You guys know what I mean when I say that,
- 20:29Speaker 4: Like it was.
- 20:30Speaker 5: Supposed to make people feel some sort of way about
- 20:36Speaker 5: her season airing on Sunday, and I think that, if anything,
- 20:40Speaker 5: I think it did nothing.
- 20:42Speaker 3: It did nothing because even saying, you know what, these
- 20:48Speaker 3: headlines have made me realize that I need.
- 20:53Speaker 5: To after this week of me doing this press story,
- 20:56Speaker 5: even I need to go retreat for a while.
- 21:00Speaker 3: I need to take a break. I need to be
- 21:03Speaker 3: a present mom. If she had said things like that,
- 21:06Speaker 3: I think people would have been like, you go girl,
- 21:09Speaker 3: you're prioritizing what needs to be done. But instead it
- 21:14Speaker 3: was like, make sure to tune into my season. Oh yeah,
- 21:17Speaker 3: and we have an exclusive clip, which that clip didn't
- 21:20Speaker 3: give anything.
- 21:32Speaker 5: I don't know if you talked about this with Ben,
- 21:34Speaker 5: but I know she said this last night or something
- 21:36Speaker 5: along the lines at her press dinner, and then she
- 21:38Speaker 5: did it again here and I thought it was the
- 21:40Speaker 5: weirdest statement to be like, these headlines are making me
- 21:44Speaker 5: sit making they're ruining my week that's supposed to be celebratory,
- 21:48Speaker 5: and I'm like, what, ye like it's ruining your week?
- 21:53Speaker 3: Because it's what Ben was saying. It's that somebody had
- 21:58Speaker 3: said on The Vile Files about that Dakota sabotages her moments,
- 22:06Speaker 3: and so I think that's what she's implying. But where
- 22:10Speaker 3: I come back on that is that this happened three
- 22:14Speaker 3: weeks ago, whatever this thing was, it didn't happen this week,
- 22:18Speaker 3: the week of your premiere.
- 22:20Speaker 4: Is she trying to say that he's putting this out now?
- 22:23Speaker 3: Yes, intentionally When you say these headlines are ruining and
- 22:28Speaker 3: I can't enjoy another premiere, it's making it sound like
- 22:32Speaker 3: it's a calculated move, and who knows, maybe that's true,
- 22:37Speaker 3: maybe there's some truth to that. I would also say
- 22:41Speaker 3: that the reason why it's happening now is because somebody
- 22:47Speaker 3: up top orchestrated this to drop on Sunday.
- 22:51Speaker 5: Somebody at top of you know that we talked about
- 22:54Speaker 5: this in the last episode, But somebody the top of
- 22:57Speaker 5: what like certainly not ABC.
- 23:00Speaker 3: At the network. They there's no way that the network
- 23:03Speaker 3: did not know when that situation happened, because it affected
- 23:08Speaker 3: immediately filming of Secret Lives, which then caused them to
- 23:12Speaker 3: go down.
- 23:12Speaker 4: That's right, Okay.
- 23:13Speaker 5: So the network has known this for three weeks. Why
- 23:18Speaker 5: Sunday night.
- 23:19Speaker 3: Or just after three weeks, like just maybe just after.
- 23:22Speaker 5: You think that they were really going to try to
- 23:24Speaker 5: hide it, hide it, hide it, or do you think
- 23:27Speaker 5: that they should have just come out three weeks ago.
- 23:29Speaker 3: I think that the last three weeks have been trying
- 23:31Speaker 3: to build a strategy, and I think that the strategy
- 23:37Speaker 3: did not work, and I think that we're now in
- 23:41Speaker 3: scramble mode. And I think that today and the next
- 23:46Speaker 3: twenty four hours, I think by Thursday, if nothing has
- 23:50Speaker 3: changed in the sense when I say no other sponsors
- 23:54Speaker 3: or deals have dropped out by Thursday, they are going
- 23:58Speaker 3: to consider this like all good, okay, because that's what
- 24:03Speaker 3: they're most concerned about. Putting her out there on GMA
- 24:07Speaker 3: was really I think about saving sponsors. It's not about
- 24:12Speaker 3: public opinion, public opinion or people tuning in or anything
- 24:16Speaker 3: like that. It's about making sure that sponsors don't drop
- 24:20Speaker 3: out by her going out there and saying nothing, and
- 24:25Speaker 3: by her continuing to show up being like see, I'm
- 24:29Speaker 3: an active player, Like I'm not going and hiding. Because
- 24:33Speaker 3: that's a problem too. Write for the show if as
- 24:37Speaker 3: much as we think she should be prioritizing her mental
- 24:39Speaker 3: health and doing that. If they don't have a lead
- 24:42Speaker 3: out there pushing the show and showing up, who do
- 24:48Speaker 3: they have to promote it?
- 24:49Speaker 4: Right?
- 24:51Speaker 5: No one?
- 24:51Speaker 3: No one?
- 24:52Speaker 4: Yeah, but do they really need promotion right now?
- 24:55Speaker 3: I mean, I not right now, But what about for
- 24:57Speaker 3: the rest of the season.
- 24:58Speaker 4: I don't know. I think it'll float.
- 25:01Speaker 3: I think so too. I'm honestly at a loss.
- 25:05Speaker 4: I really don't I could have had Jesse out there,
- 25:07Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 25:08Speaker 3: I don't know. I don't think so. But I really
- 25:11Speaker 3: don't know what the plan was. I think that's what's confusing,
- 25:14Speaker 3: is like the interview didn't do a whole lot, and
- 25:20Speaker 3: it's just it's just like, Okay, watch my show, and
- 25:24Speaker 3: when I'm ready to talk about it, I will talk
- 25:27Speaker 3: about it. That was the takeaway.
- 25:30Speaker 5: I'd find this honestly fascinating. This is the biggest Bachelor
- 25:34Speaker 5: PR crisis we've had since Bachelor in Paradise season four.
- 25:38Speaker 5: I think the Gary thing was kind of weird. The
- 25:41Speaker 5: male thing was a little weird. I can't think about
- 25:44Speaker 5: any Oh, oh my god, how to how am I
- 25:46Speaker 5: not forgetting the obvious good Chris Harrison, Rachel Lindsay, Chris.
- 25:51Speaker 3: Harrison, Rachel Lindsay with a cue one.
- 25:54Speaker 4: That's probably PR crisis number one.
- 25:56Speaker 3: That's PR crisis number one, Paradise number two. And then
- 26:01Speaker 3: Gary Turner.
- 26:02Speaker 4: And Harry is a nothing.
- 26:04Speaker 3: I mean, I don't know those murder comments that.
- 26:06Speaker 5: Well, I mean that's that was our last like what
- 26:09Speaker 5: in the f But that was when he was post Bachelor,
- 26:12Speaker 5: which made a difference.
- 26:12Speaker 3: Sure, post Bachelor, but it did. It did hold the
- 26:16Speaker 3: media for an entire week, those things, those headlines, so
- 26:21Speaker 3: it was it was a big blitz for sure. Yeah,
- 26:25Speaker 3: I'm I'm you know what, I don't know Chris Harrison,
- 26:28Speaker 3: but uh, I'm really interested. I'm really interested to know
- 26:32Speaker 3: what he's thinking right now when all this is playing out.
- 26:35Speaker 4: I don't want to speak for him.
- 26:37Speaker 3: No, it's not, but I just I just truly wonder.
- 26:42Speaker 5: It's just like so crazy, age like how am I
- 26:45Speaker 5: involved with this franchise that literally.
- 26:48Speaker 4: Like I love it, like I love it, love it,
- 26:50Speaker 4: love it.
- 26:51Speaker 5: I can't believe how many times I've had to be
- 26:53Speaker 5: on this mic debating something that is so controversial about it?
- 26:58Speaker 5: What like what I feel like no other reality show.
- 27:01Speaker 5: I mean, there's a huge spotlight on Bachelor versus any
- 27:04Speaker 5: other reality show.
- 27:05Speaker 4: Huge.
- 27:06Speaker 3: I was saying this with Deanna yesterday. I mean, all
- 27:10Speaker 3: good things must come to an end at some point.
- 27:12Speaker 3: It can't last forever, but wow, it has gone on
- 27:18Speaker 3: for much longer than I think anybody could have ever anticipated.
- 27:22Speaker 3: And so, you know, if this ends up being the
- 27:25Speaker 3: last season of Bachelorette, let's hope it's a good watch.
- 27:29Speaker 3: And if for some reason we don't see it at
- 27:33Speaker 3: all come Sunday, who knows. But I mean, I'm still
- 27:39Speaker 3: as much as everything that's going on. I'm still intrigued,
- 27:44Speaker 3: even though I feel like I know the ending already, unfortunately, which.
- 27:48Speaker 4: Really, oh well, we've had lots of spoilers on that one.
- 27:51Speaker 5: I know. Did you guys talk spoilers yesterday on your
- 27:54Speaker 5: Ben podcast?
- 27:55Speaker 3: Uh No, But I did see pictures last tonight, and yeah,
- 28:01Speaker 3: I saw the pictures the TikTok that went out on
- 28:04Speaker 3: Monday that I said was her going rogue. I think
- 28:08Speaker 3: that was correct in that it was actually a PR
- 28:12Speaker 3: stunt by the team.
- 28:13Speaker 4: Okay, so I.
- 28:14Speaker 3: Believe you were actually correct on that, because thank you,
- 28:18Speaker 3: I had some phone calls last night and Amy Sugarman
- 28:22Speaker 3: was like, no, you're You're wrong.
- 28:26Speaker 4: So much. Shoot, where's Amy?
- 28:29Speaker 3: I know? Sleeping?
- 28:33Speaker 5: Okay, all right, well this is again continuously evolving, so
- 28:38Speaker 5: we'll be back with it and until then, I love you,
- 28:42Speaker 5: See you next time.
- 28:43Speaker 4: I've been Ashley Bye.
