- 0:15Speaker 2: Tennessee Titans. My word's not his. But first, let's talk
- 0:19Speaker 2: about chevyll Chevrolet. It's a trusted company that has been
- 0:22Speaker 2: innovating for the past one hundred years. Up to now,
- 0:25Speaker 2: most electric vehicles have been either too expensive, too small,
- 0:29Speaker 2: or too limited in capabilities for most people. Chevrolet is
- 0:32Speaker 2: committed to making evs available for all Americans. There is
- 0:35Speaker 2: a growing network of public charging stations. They're over nineteen
- 0:38Speaker 2: hundred nineteen hundred certified Chevy EV dealerships. Chevy has convenient
- 0:43Speaker 2: ways to research and shop EV's online. EV's for everyone, everywhere, everywhere. Dude,
- 0:51Speaker 2: what an honor, absolute honor. Look at this unit, Briddy,
- 0:55Speaker 2: You've got the look. For those of you who are
- 0:57Speaker 2: watching on frame, the camera does add ten pounds is
- 1:00Speaker 2: gonna matter for you? You look good. I saw them off
- 1:03Speaker 2: the bus with Yeah. Get that smaller, that slender lower
- 1:07Speaker 2: body that says I'm an athlete. But he's got the
- 1:09Speaker 2: he's got the upper body that tells you listen.
- 1:10Speaker 1: Now. I was because I was, I was gazing at him. Now.
- 1:14Speaker 3: I was kind of look at the this afar and yeah,
- 1:16Speaker 3: I was kind of like, look at that wide back,
- 1:18Speaker 3: like he's kind of back and you're right, he's got
- 1:20Speaker 3: some smaller you know.
- 1:21Speaker 1: Don't touch him. Don't touch him like that. That makes it
- 1:23Speaker 1: a little However, hiding under them shorts is a thunderstorm.
- 1:28Speaker 1: He does have the tear drops bro quads like, I
- 1:31Speaker 1: know you're just sitting here like we're gonna keep giving
- 1:33Speaker 1: you flowers. Boy, he's built now, he's built like a
- 1:35Speaker 1: Chevy and he moves.
- 1:37Speaker 3: He does move. I say, yeah, your video is going viral.
- 1:40Speaker 3: I think it was last week I tweeted that out.
- 1:42Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah. The hip movement is pretty incredible. Jump
- 1:45Speaker 1: in the air as you see that running, you can run.
- 1:48Speaker 1: You see that jump in the air. You could see
- 1:51Speaker 1: you guys know, you could run the middle of the
- 1:52Speaker 1: field in Tampa, Tuo better than me.
- 1:53Speaker 2: I was watching his hands. I'm like, oh, this boy
- 1:55Speaker 2: can move. Yeah, I can absolutely move. Welcome to the
- 1:58Speaker 2: show Man, to have you here, man.
- 2:01Speaker 1: It's great to be here. For be here.
- 2:03Speaker 4: Yeah, no, seriously, I mean I've been watching the show
- 2:06Speaker 4: a lot, you know, so.
- 2:07Speaker 1: You t two tier three, Tier one. Oh, he don't
- 2:11Speaker 1: watch a show like that like that.
- 2:13Speaker 4: So I watched The last one I watched was with
- 2:16Speaker 4: You with Coach Yeah Ziggler. Oh yeah, my high school
- 2:23Speaker 4: Counselor episode was crazy. I was playing two K and
- 2:26Speaker 4: I was listening to I was the whole time. I
- 2:28Speaker 4: was like, damn, have.
- 2:29Speaker 1: You talked to the Raiders? I have? Yeah, he talked
- 2:31Speaker 1: to everybody. I mean he yeah, he's he's him. He
- 2:35Speaker 1: is coaches or not coaching, I mean it's GM. Yeah.
- 2:38Speaker 2: And you were just doing a work out with with
- 2:40Speaker 2: Are we allowed to say that? We say that his
- 2:44Speaker 2: agents on the funness is good.
- 2:47Speaker 1: With the team.
- 2:47Speaker 2: We're not gonna see who the team is, but we
- 2:48Speaker 2: will say the head coach and and incredible guy. And
- 2:53Speaker 2: so he was seeing your praises a little bit with
- 2:57Speaker 2: how you move and stuff like that, and where he
- 2:58Speaker 2: could put you in all these different I'm not going.
- 3:00Speaker 1: To go into that because that that was inside ball.
- 3:02Speaker 3: Now that your agent's on the phone, top three places
- 3:04Speaker 3: you want to play, I think, I mean, well, for
- 3:10Speaker 3: me personally, I feel like, Uh, the first thing I
- 3:12Speaker 3: look at is like taxes, the taxes.
- 3:15Speaker 1: Yeah, so state taxes already? Tennis cool? Be I mean
- 3:21Speaker 1: for Titan, that'd be cool. There's no state taxes there.
- 3:24Speaker 4: Yeah, warm from Cincinnati, so I felt for me the
- 3:29Speaker 4: weather is important to Miami. Miami would be cool. But
- 3:32Speaker 4: they only need to tackle. Yeah, but I mean if.
- 3:35Speaker 3: They needed a tackle, you are available, still available.
- 3:42Speaker 1: But about guard? Would you play guard? I would? I would, yeah,
- 3:45Speaker 1: I would after write it doesn't matter.
- 3:47Speaker 4: It doesn't matter, I feel, especially in a guard world,
- 3:49Speaker 4: A three point stance.
- 3:50Speaker 1: Yeah, you would be either one. So you're coming to
- 3:52Speaker 1: a three point stance to you look solid. Appreciate it, move,
- 3:55Speaker 1: appreciate it.
- 3:56Speaker 3: Move.
- 3:56Speaker 1: So Tennessee is on the table for you. Yeah. Really,
- 3:59Speaker 1: at the end of the day, you don't have a choy.
- 4:00Speaker 2: You could say you hate all the thirty two teams
- 4:01Speaker 2: and one I'm still gonna pick you right.
- 4:02Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah, we didn't allow him to say his three
- 4:05Speaker 1: Oh yeah, well I heard Tennessee. I would say, like, realistically,
- 4:09Speaker 1: who like he needs a tackle? I would say Chicago.
- 4:15Speaker 4: I would also say the Falcons be in Atlanta too, Yeah,
- 4:18Speaker 4: Atlanta huge, Chicago, Atlanta yeah.
- 4:22Speaker 1: Those would be the three right there. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 4:25Speaker 1: Who's who's off? Who do we not want not want? Yeah?
- 4:29Speaker 2: Who?
- 4:29Speaker 1: Where do we not want to go? Buffalo don't need
- 4:32Speaker 1: to tackle New York. Just a personal preference.
- 4:35Speaker 4: Personal preferences, man, forty niners. I'm thinking about the city
- 4:40Speaker 4: tax with San Francisco, then the state tax and how
- 4:43Speaker 4: much it costs to live out there, you know. Yeah,
- 4:46Speaker 4: that's all I said. And then you're paying to be
- 4:47Speaker 4: on the team. Yeah, you know what I mean.
- 4:50Speaker 1: And they have the greatest left tackle in the history
- 4:51Speaker 1: of he and they already got it. You know, they
- 4:53Speaker 1: already got that guy. Yeah.
- 4:54Speaker 3: I mean, you know Buffalo as well, freezing state tax,
- 4:58Speaker 3: New York state tax.
- 4:59Speaker 4: But you like live in Ohio pretty much, you know.
- 5:02Speaker 4: I've been up to Buffalo. Looks like Cincinnati but with
- 5:05Speaker 4: snow everywhere. Yeah, you know, but you're paying to live
- 5:08Speaker 4: in New York.
- 5:08Speaker 1: So being a.
- 5:09Speaker 2: Cat from Cincinnati. When you see them sign Orlando Brown,
- 5:13Speaker 2: was there a piece of you that was like, damn.
- 5:16Speaker 4: I wasn't always the biggest the Bengals fan really growing up,
- 5:19Speaker 4: so I've never had.
- 5:20Speaker 2: A whole root for when you were growing up until
- 5:22Speaker 2: the last four five years, not a whole lot to
- 5:24Speaker 2: root for.
- 5:25Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, exactly.
- 5:26Speaker 4: It's it's one of those things like when you're a kid,
- 5:28Speaker 4: you don't really come out saying you're a Bengals fan,
- 5:31Speaker 4: because then you know, you get it's kind of you know,
- 5:33Speaker 4: you're kind of ashamed, you know what I mean, because
- 5:35Speaker 4: there was a whole lot going.
- 5:37Speaker 1: On, you know, anymore that's fair, but not anymore, but yeah,
- 5:39Speaker 1: what I mean. But it's changed, it's changed completely.
- 5:41Speaker 4: But I think because that as a kid, I can't
- 5:44Speaker 4: say as a kid, I watched the Bengals like I
- 5:45Speaker 4: wanted to play for the Bengals. Like when I was
- 5:47Speaker 4: a kid, I used to play on a litterle League
- 5:50Speaker 4: team called the Outlaws. You wore the silver and black.
- 5:53Speaker 4: As a kid, I'm like, I want to play for
- 5:54Speaker 4: the Raiders. They were the Solver and black. They're trying
- 5:56Speaker 4: to dress like us. Yeah, it's naturally, don't play you know,
- 5:59Speaker 4: keep the colors. Yeah, I'll say as a kid, I
- 6:03Speaker 4: watched them more than I watched the Bengals.
- 6:06Speaker 1: Your Raiders fan growing up a little bit, Yeah, Yeah.
- 6:09Speaker 2: The Raiders have the coolest uniforms in the NFL. And
- 6:11Speaker 2: it's not even an argument. Yeah, by far. How's how's
- 6:15Speaker 2: the draft process been treating you?
- 6:17Speaker 1: It's been cool. It's been cool.
- 6:18Speaker 4: I mean it's it's been long, but I can't say
- 6:20Speaker 4: it's been tiring, only because like I don't know, I
- 6:23Speaker 4: feel like your whole life, this is what you want,
- 6:26Speaker 4: and then I feel like you get here for three
- 6:27Speaker 4: years and then you work and it's like yo, like
- 6:30Speaker 4: that's what I've been working for. It's cool to be
- 6:32Speaker 4: able to have moments like this, but be able to
- 6:34Speaker 4: talk to to talk to head coaches and be able
- 6:36Speaker 4: to tap them up and be able to talk to
- 6:38Speaker 4: tell them what I'm about, the type of stuff I
- 6:40Speaker 4: want to do, and how it can contribute.
- 6:42Speaker 1: So, I mean, it's been awesome.
- 6:43Speaker 3: Real what is uh, What's something that you feel like
- 6:47Speaker 3: you were excited to either whether it's a dress or
- 6:50Speaker 3: get head on that you know could be like on
- 6:52Speaker 3: your scouting report that could be a blemish of you.
- 6:57Speaker 4: I think being able to talk about but I think
- 7:01Speaker 4: in the run game, in the past game, I think
- 7:04Speaker 4: the thing that I've been talking with a lot of
- 7:06Speaker 4: teams about with something that I've been I've been trying
- 7:08Speaker 4: to work on a lot this past offseason well, going
- 7:12Speaker 4: to the draft, is my my hand my hand usage,
- 7:15Speaker 4: whether that's the timing, where it's the placement. I would
- 7:17Speaker 4: say one thing, I'm good as being able to work
- 7:21Speaker 4: the refit, but how but you know the consistency of
- 7:24Speaker 4: being able to have my hands in the right spot
- 7:26Speaker 4: from the jump. I'm not having to be an athlete
- 7:28Speaker 4: to refit and fight and finished to have it in
- 7:30Speaker 4: there from the beginning. I think being able to talk
- 7:33Speaker 4: about that and being able to do that is going
- 7:35Speaker 4: to be huge for me.
- 7:37Speaker 2: Yeah, with the hand thing, we have a little inside
- 7:39Speaker 2: ball real quick when it comes to pass pro punch
- 7:41Speaker 2: earlier than you think you should.
- 7:43Speaker 1: That's always going to help you on that. And then
- 7:45Speaker 1: the run game.
- 7:46Speaker 2: Try to punch like where your your mouth is going
- 7:49Speaker 2: to be is naturally is going to go lower because
- 7:51Speaker 2: you're not gonna want to hit your fingers in your
- 7:52Speaker 2: face mask.
- 7:52Speaker 1: You're gonna be right in that perfect spot.
- 7:54Speaker 2: Like a little cues you can tell yourself in that
- 7:56Speaker 2: something you can take with you, dude, if you want.
- 7:58Speaker 1: But I heard the hand thing and change in the pocket.
- 8:00Speaker 1: I see you give some games.
- 8:01Speaker 2: Sometimes there's a little game out there, and I feel
- 8:03Speaker 2: like this is an opportunity for me to give it
- 8:06Speaker 2: the train station at the Combine, like preparing for that.
- 8:09Speaker 2: Obviously everyone sees you running around doing the drills. You
- 8:12Speaker 2: didn't do the forty at the Combine. But going into
- 8:16Speaker 2: those meetings and those interviews, how many of those official interviews.
- 8:18Speaker 1: Did you have? I had twenty.
- 8:20Speaker 2: Yeah, that's a lot those that schedule that that that
- 8:25Speaker 2: is a lot to deal with because you're not you
- 8:26Speaker 2: were a Rear Richard junior.
- 8:28Speaker 1: Correct, you're a senior. No, I'm a junior.
- 8:31Speaker 2: You're a junior. So there was no there was no
- 8:32Speaker 2: Senior Bowl and things. Usually that's when a lot of
- 8:34Speaker 2: guys get that out of the way. Yeah, so when
- 8:36Speaker 2: you're going to that process, what.
- 8:37Speaker 1: Do we talk about the train station?
- 8:39Speaker 2: Train station is at the Combine. There's there's two separate
- 8:43Speaker 2: interview processes. There's like official interviews, which is like the
- 8:48Speaker 2: team and it's all used to being like those conductor hotels.
- 8:50Speaker 1: I don't know if it's the same anymore.
- 8:52Speaker 4: So now it's inside the stadium, so now it's it's
- 8:54Speaker 4: in the school. Okay, But you're running from suite the
- 8:57Speaker 4: sweet Sometimes you have a guy, sometimes you're on your own.
- 8:59Speaker 1: You're spread on the hallway.
- 9:01Speaker 2: Yeah, and they'd had this big room and you literally
- 9:03Speaker 2: like checking, like I was online twenty three, i would
- 9:05Speaker 2: put my on line twenty three and I'd turn around
- 9:07Speaker 2: there be like a bunch of coaches waiting for me.
- 9:08Speaker 2: Those are like informal interviews and then there's official interviews
- 9:12Speaker 2: where you would go to now the suites, but it
- 9:13Speaker 2: used to be in these like this hotel that would
- 9:16Speaker 2: have literally trained trucks, trains, and like you would go
- 9:22Speaker 2: from one to the next, like meeting with official teams.
- 9:24Speaker 2: That's where like the GM would be, the head coach
- 9:25Speaker 2: would be. And you said you had twenty of those, Yeah,
- 9:28Speaker 2: what when you were working through that process, Like how
- 9:31Speaker 2: much did you focus on how to answer questions and
- 9:34Speaker 2: how to like explain like like when you sit down
- 9:39Speaker 2: with the coaches, they're going to ask you off the
- 9:40Speaker 2: wall stuff and playbook stuff, Like how much did you
- 9:44Speaker 2: study for that compared to getting ready for like the drills.
- 9:48Speaker 4: Yeah, So I would say it was like, honestly, I
- 9:52Speaker 4: would say the time I spent trying to prepare for
- 9:53Speaker 4: those interviews would be about the same that I spent
- 9:56Speaker 4: on the field.
- 9:57Speaker 1: So each day I called.
- 9:58Speaker 4: My GA with Mike so any I called him and
- 10:05Speaker 4: each day I did the board work with him. We
- 10:08Speaker 4: watched film every day. I got my answers on Okay,
- 10:11Speaker 4: did this wrong? But what's the reason what I've done better?
- 10:16Speaker 1: This?
- 10:16Speaker 4: This play has success. But let's let's talk about my
- 10:18Speaker 4: second step here? How could this block have have been different?
- 10:22Speaker 4: I'm talking with so each day I'm doing a board
- 10:24Speaker 4: work with him on FaceTime, holding my phone up on
- 10:26Speaker 4: one hand, drawn plays the other hand, trying to master
- 10:30Speaker 4: our offense, frying the master offense. I'm trying to learn
- 10:32Speaker 4: to read the defense is at a different level than
- 10:35Speaker 4: if I'm here every day also taking classes, also in
- 10:38Speaker 4: the weight room here doing stuff I had more time.
- 10:41Speaker 4: It'll be on face some of him and he's you know,
- 10:43Speaker 4: he's a ja here, so he still has classes. So
- 10:45Speaker 4: I mean, I'm I'm I'm thanking him every day because
- 10:47Speaker 4: he took time of his day to help me out,
- 10:49Speaker 4: which is huge.
- 10:49Speaker 1: That's awesome, you know, it's huge.
- 10:50Speaker 3: You know, Dore, anything you learned in the process about
- 10:53Speaker 3: yourself that you didn't already know just being on the border,
- 10:57Speaker 3: hearing any feedback or anything else, whether it's strengths, was
- 10:59Speaker 3: your whether it's weaknesses I think.
- 11:02Speaker 4: I feel like for me just noticing the patterns of
- 11:04Speaker 4: my game, and I would say things that I need
- 11:06Speaker 4: to continue to work on.
- 11:07Speaker 1: Is that like?
- 11:10Speaker 4: But one thing for me that I'm containing to work on,
- 11:12Speaker 4: and you could tell me if you ever experienced this,
- 11:14Speaker 4: is that sometimes I get to my spot, I feel
- 11:17Speaker 4: like I'm fast out of my stance. A lot of
- 11:18Speaker 4: times I beat people to my spot and then so
- 11:22Speaker 4: you have a lot of time there and then well
- 11:24Speaker 4: by the time that they I come to the junk
- 11:27Speaker 4: boys make contact. Sometimes when I make contact and I
- 11:31Speaker 4: bring my right hand across, it opens up my left
- 11:35Speaker 4: hip the case a shorter edge. But I mean I
- 11:38Speaker 4: use my athleticism to beat them around the pocket. But
- 11:40Speaker 4: in the league, how many times is that athletics isn't
- 11:43Speaker 4: going to be there for you? So I feel like
- 11:45Speaker 4: I want to get rid of that so I'm not
- 11:46Speaker 4: having to rely on that, you know what I mean.
- 11:49Speaker 4: And I put myself in that situation because the defensive
- 11:51Speaker 4: line is not doing that me with how I'm using
- 11:55Speaker 4: my hands or the discipline of my outside hip keep
- 11:58Speaker 4: it closed. I can stay square for one more I
- 12:00Speaker 4: don't know out You know, if you had I was
- 12:02Speaker 4: in college. For you or some of you worked on with.
- 12:04Speaker 2: Them, Yeah, punching across I was very similar in I
- 12:07Speaker 2: was very quick out of my stands. I was very
- 12:09Speaker 2: big on cadence and getting out. Yeah, So a lot
- 12:11Speaker 2: of times I would beat them to the junction point
- 12:12Speaker 2: as well. For me, it was how do I get
- 12:16Speaker 2: to a point where I know I'm beating them to where?
- 12:18Speaker 2: Because I would always cut the guy off in half,
- 12:20Speaker 2: like I would look at and then I would cut
- 12:22Speaker 2: off the inside half, So I'd almost always focus on
- 12:24Speaker 2: that armpit. Then what I would do is I would
- 12:27Speaker 2: try to punch the armpit and like the outside shoulder
- 12:30Speaker 2: because if you miss, and if you're punching early enough,
- 12:32Speaker 2: that's when you can use that hip to keep it
- 12:33Speaker 2: open and go. For me, it was always the inside
- 12:36Speaker 2: move because I knew, no matter what, I'm gonna be
- 12:38Speaker 2: able to run this guy around the edge. That's not
- 12:40Speaker 2: going to ever be a problem for me. The issue
- 12:42Speaker 2: was opening those hips. Now it's hard to get that hip,
- 12:44Speaker 2: that right hip back turned around and wash them down
- 12:47Speaker 2: deep enough because when you get at that point, you're
- 12:49Speaker 2: hitting that four or five yards.
- 12:50Speaker 1: Now you're in the quarterbacks area.
- 12:52Speaker 2: Right if he makes an inside move, so as far
- 12:55Speaker 2: as the hip goes, when you get to the juncture point,
- 12:58Speaker 2: instead of thinking I have taken more kicks if they
- 13:00Speaker 2: think of I just just pattered my feet where I'm
- 13:02Speaker 2: at and I saw you doing a good job of that.
- 13:03Speaker 2: When you're doing your workout with the head coach Arthur Smith,
- 13:07Speaker 2: not going to say the team you would get out
- 13:09Speaker 2: of your set, you would take two three sets, and
- 13:10Speaker 2: you would patter your feet. Whenever I would beat somebody,
- 13:13Speaker 2: I would do that same thing. I would try to
- 13:15Speaker 2: patter my feet as much as possible. That way, if
- 13:17Speaker 2: they made a move, I wasn't stuck in the mud
- 13:19Speaker 2: with one foot or the other right, and then from
- 13:22Speaker 2: there it's just tuning up your punch. That's where that
- 13:24Speaker 2: first thing I told you is punching early. If you
- 13:27Speaker 2: punch early because you're a long dude, that gives you
- 13:30Speaker 2: all that time to recover from whatever move they've made.
- 13:33Speaker 1: There's different things you canna do.
- 13:34Speaker 2: You can flash, you can jump, but also knowing who
- 13:37Speaker 2: you're playing as well, you're playing a big, burly dude
- 13:39Speaker 2: like you don't need to get.
- 13:40Speaker 1: Out of your stance at all. You have the snapcount.
- 13:43Speaker 2: You have all this yet the speed guys, I like
- 13:45Speaker 2: to have a little space, like let's take away their
- 13:47Speaker 2: fastball and we'll move on from there, like make them
- 13:49Speaker 2: bully you type shoah. But that'll be it easy if
- 13:53Speaker 2: you go to a place like the Titans. Mike Sullivan,
- 13:55Speaker 2: he was I was with him my rookie year, and
- 13:58Speaker 2: I had a whole bunch of little like quirk that
- 14:00Speaker 2: I would do that was not great at He really.
- 14:02Speaker 1: Worked that rust off of you.
- 14:04Speaker 2: He'll do stuff with you in the beginning of practice
- 14:06Speaker 2: after practice, and it's just incremental differences that he can
- 14:09Speaker 2: help with.
- 14:09Speaker 1: So that is, brother, You're gonna be. You're gonna be
- 14:12Speaker 1: just fine. Your athletic ability alone.
- 14:14Speaker 2: Like when I was looking when I came and did
- 14:16Speaker 2: the combine with Joe and them, and I'm looking at
- 14:18Speaker 2: the players I started watching film, it seemed to me
- 14:21Speaker 2: like I'm not I would not sit here and say
- 14:23Speaker 2: you're the most complete offensive lineman in this draft, because
- 14:26Speaker 2: I think that guy from Northwestern, he seems from a
- 14:29Speaker 2: technical standpoint, a little farther along. But I don't think
- 14:31Speaker 2: that's necessarily a better thing for him. I think his
- 14:34Speaker 2: ceiling is a little bit is lower. You have the
- 14:36Speaker 2: potential with your athletic ability, you could be that guy
- 14:39Speaker 2: that's a perennial Pro Bowl guy with you just the
- 14:42Speaker 2: way your feet moving, stuff like that. But you need
- 14:44Speaker 2: a coach in there to develop you the right way, right,
- 14:47Speaker 2: you know what I'm saying that I.
- 14:48Speaker 1: Think you're going to be. You're gonna be all right.
- 14:51Speaker 3: I think another thing he asked you just sitting here
- 14:53Speaker 3: with them and talk to him, and just the engagement.
- 14:56Speaker 3: He seems very intentional with the way he thinks. Yeah,
- 14:58Speaker 3: you know what I mean, Like he's very You're aware,
- 15:00Speaker 3: you're conscious, like even the text thing is small, but
- 15:03Speaker 3: like you're just thinking of things already where you're you're
- 15:06Speaker 3: like wise beyond your years. What are you twenty one one? Yeah,
- 15:09Speaker 3: which is insane. Yeah, I mean that's insane. I think
- 15:11Speaker 3: you have a really good head on your shoulders, so
- 15:12Speaker 3: I think you have that going for you too.
- 15:14Speaker 1: Appreciate it is the key.
- 15:16Speaker 3: Yeah, don't don't don't don't you feel like yeah, because
- 15:18Speaker 3: answer your question his eyes get big. You just kind
- 15:20Speaker 3: of feel like, Okay, he's very serious about it.
- 15:24Speaker 2: Feels like everything, especially if you watch our show, like
- 15:26Speaker 2: we're a high paced show. Yeah, I think a lot
- 15:29Speaker 2: of times if a guest does watch, they want to
- 15:30Speaker 2: keep up at the high pace. But you take the
- 15:32Speaker 2: time to kind of look away, gather your thoughts and speak,
- 15:36Speaker 2: And that's a that's a good quality to have that
- 15:38Speaker 2: I don't I definitely don't possess.
- 15:40Speaker 1: Yeah, so that's that's awesome. I'm saying. Yeah, I'm literally
- 15:43Speaker 1: just engaging. Yeah, you don't EU a piece of shit.
- 15:46Speaker 2: Yeah, when at the combine the reason why, because you're
- 15:49Speaker 2: an athletic dude, what was the reason why you didn't
- 15:51Speaker 2: run the forty Yeah.
- 15:52Speaker 4: So for me, I feel like I kind of wanted
- 15:54Speaker 4: to let my tape just kind of do the talking
- 15:57Speaker 4: for me because I feel like I want to. I mean,
- 15:59Speaker 4: I did that be out a drills. But at the
- 16:01Speaker 4: same time, I feel like, for me, I think people
- 16:03Speaker 4: know the speed that I play. I fact, I've taped
- 16:05Speaker 4: from when I'm at guard, when I'm at tackling, I'm
- 16:07Speaker 4: pulling them in space, I'm on safeties and corners. I
- 16:10Speaker 4: haven't been beat by a safety corner, you know. I'm
- 16:13Speaker 4: I'm able to get to get to them in space.
- 16:16Speaker 4: So I think just being able to show my speed
- 16:18Speaker 4: the second and third level it is shown on film
- 16:21Speaker 4: and the change of direction that I have, so I
- 16:24Speaker 4: felt like for me, I mean I trained for it
- 16:25Speaker 4: the whole time when I was down to Pensacola, and
- 16:28Speaker 4: it was one of those things where you know, right
- 16:30Speaker 4: before the combine, I was there like man like that
- 16:33Speaker 4: one of these drills because I feel like for O
- 16:35Speaker 4: line it's really more of a I mean, I felt
- 16:38Speaker 4: it's the same for all positions in a way, but
- 16:39Speaker 4: perfect for O line. It's like the drafts and an
- 16:41Speaker 4: O line guy to do O line functional movement compared
- 16:46Speaker 4: to you know, shorts touch that can't touches can't touch that.
- 16:50Speaker 4: You know what I mean, I'm doing all that. The
- 16:52Speaker 4: quarterback messed up somehow, you know what I mean. If
- 16:54Speaker 4: I'm really good at doing that all the time, yeah.
- 16:55Speaker 1: Yeah, but you you have that athletic ability.
- 16:58Speaker 2: And I saw the numbers, like the number weren't astounding
- 17:02Speaker 2: by any any means. Of the guys that did run
- 17:03Speaker 2: the forty, do you think you would have ran the
- 17:05Speaker 2: fastest forty there?
- 17:06Speaker 1: I think I would have ran, uh the first or
- 17:09Speaker 1: second in the forty. What was the fastest, like a
- 17:12Speaker 1: four nine eight?
- 17:13Speaker 4: I think the fastest one was from Blake Freeland. You
- 17:17Speaker 4: know think he ran up for below four nine.
- 17:22Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah, it was pretty impressive. It was cool.
- 17:24Speaker 2: Yeah, four nine is very fast. But I saw a
- 17:27Speaker 2: lot of those guys. A lot of dudes were five
- 17:29Speaker 2: five to one. And then I was looking at you.
- 17:31Speaker 2: I was like, man, this dude's about to run a
- 17:32Speaker 2: four eight something. He's got the build, get the squads. Yeah,
- 17:36Speaker 2: it was what did you bench?
- 17:38Speaker 1: I benched twenty nine?
- 17:40Speaker 2: Twenty nine? A minus or plus you at all? Or
- 17:42Speaker 2: I minus you at all? I don't play no, Yeah,
- 17:44Speaker 2: kept it on it the whole.
- 17:45Speaker 1: I kept it on.
- 17:46Speaker 4: I kept it when I was doing it, I thought,
- 17:48Speaker 4: I mean when I was done, I got up. I
- 17:50Speaker 4: was so mad. I was screaming. I was like god,
- 17:52Speaker 4: and I thought I was twenty one or something. Oh man,
- 17:56Speaker 4: well yeah you thought it was twenty one, but was
- 17:58Speaker 4: twenty one.
- 17:59Speaker 1: I wasn't counting at all. I was just banging it, obviously, No,
- 18:01Speaker 1: you missed eight reps in your head, just banging it out.
- 18:06Speaker 1: I say, man, I thought I got sixteen. Yeah. I
- 18:08Speaker 1: was just banging it out. And I got up. I'm mad,
- 18:11Speaker 1: and they're like twenty nine.
- 18:12Speaker 4: I immediately I looked up at I looked up, you know,
- 18:14Speaker 4: and I was like, that's all got.
- 18:16Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 18:17Speaker 4: Training, I got like maybe the most, like twenty seven.
- 18:20Speaker 4: And I told every coach that I'm getting twenty I'm
- 18:21Speaker 4: getting I'm getting twenty seven and thirty. I said it
- 18:24Speaker 4: the whole week. So when I'm in the night before,
- 18:26Speaker 4: I'm like, yo, I forget. I gotta get at least
- 18:29Speaker 4: twenty seven. Yeah, I told every coach. So I got
- 18:32Speaker 4: twenty nine. I call my strength coach was my first call,
- 18:35Speaker 4: and then call my mom and I thank god.
- 18:37Speaker 1: I was like, awesome. So was that the thing you
- 18:40Speaker 1: were most stressed out about at the combine bench? Brass,
- 18:46Speaker 1: I would love that a little bit because of reps
- 18:49Speaker 1: on the bench it was the most stressed stressful thing. Dude,
- 18:52Speaker 1: Well it.
- 18:53Speaker 3: Is, but I feel like it's stressful because you just
- 18:54Speaker 3: want to crush it, dude, you know what I mean,
- 18:56Speaker 3: like more of the ego thought than actually this matters,
- 18:59Speaker 3: Like you know, I would think like the interviews were
- 19:02Speaker 3: probably forty something physically.
- 19:03Speaker 2: The forty to me was the most stressful. Yeah, like
- 19:05Speaker 2: you wonder I wanted to run trying to show out.
- 19:07Speaker 1: Yeah that was did you run the fastest time. Yes,
- 19:11Speaker 1: you get the record right, No, none of the records
- 19:14Speaker 1: like a four six seven. Yeah it was on Toron Armstead,
- 19:17Speaker 1: isn't that?
- 19:18Speaker 2: But he was like he read it like he rented
- 19:20Speaker 2: a two hundred and eighty pounds. Oh really, Yes, I
- 19:23Speaker 2: was gonna say massive blemish. Yeah, it's still a stuff like,
- 19:26Speaker 2: don't get me wrong. Still, even your boy Trent Williams,
- 19:28Speaker 2: he really a four eighty three or something like that. Yes,
- 19:31Speaker 2: goa goo. But he is a monster.
- 19:34Speaker 1: He is a monster dude.
- 19:36Speaker 3: But hey, yeah, he's a freak, one of the best
- 19:38Speaker 3: to ever do it at that position. Outside of like
- 19:42Speaker 3: being a physical specimen, Like, let's talk mental side, like
- 19:44Speaker 3: who are some mentors that you lean on in your
- 19:46Speaker 3: life or what are some things that you look to,
- 19:48Speaker 3: whether it's things that you listen to, things that you read,
- 19:51Speaker 3: like what helps you develop kind of this?
- 19:54Speaker 4: Yeah, So I mean I will say like and in
- 19:57Speaker 4: my life, in my circle, I would say my mom
- 19:59Speaker 4: is huge for me. She I mean when I was
- 20:02Speaker 4: a kid, it was just me and my mom my sister.
- 20:04Speaker 4: So I was say for her, I saw her she
- 20:06Speaker 4: sacrificed a whole lot. So for me, I saw the
- 20:09Speaker 4: toughness from the jump because me and my sister, she
- 20:11Speaker 4: played no games at all, so certain things I feel
- 20:14Speaker 4: like I come to her with a lot on the
- 20:15Speaker 4: football side of things. More like Willie Anderson, which you
- 20:21Speaker 4: met him at the combine. I don't know if you
- 20:23Speaker 4: guys have met before in the past, but like I
- 20:25Speaker 4: talk what he's been training me. I was a sophomore
- 20:27Speaker 4: in high school, so with stuff like that, I come
- 20:30Speaker 4: to him with a lot of my football stuff.
- 20:33Speaker 1: Yeah, that they helped keep your head on straight.
- 20:36Speaker 3: Yeah, because you are young, like twenty one, Like, what
- 20:39Speaker 3: power to you getting in the league at twenty one?
- 20:41Speaker 1: You're gonna say you can see a few contracts. Yeah,
- 20:43Speaker 1: good for you.
- 20:44Speaker 2: When you're looking at a place of Ohio State, was
- 20:47Speaker 2: that growing up? Was like I want to go to
- 20:49Speaker 2: Ohio State no matter what? Or was there other schools
- 20:51Speaker 2: that you're involved with?
- 20:52Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 20:52Speaker 4: So as a kid yeah, so as a kid, yeah,
- 20:56Speaker 4: I mean as a kid. So my my mom my dad,
- 21:00Speaker 4: they both went to Miami, Ohio. So as a kid,
- 21:03Speaker 4: the dream the dream school was there.
- 21:06Speaker 1: Miami, Ohio, Miami Ohio. I was the dream school. That
- 21:09Speaker 1: was a dreams school.
- 21:13Speaker 2: They just played in the Arizona ble against and in
- 21:15Speaker 2: the barstool Arizonable, the red.
- 21:16Speaker 4: Hawks, the red Hawks, the red the red Hawks, Ohio University.
- 21:20Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, I never said I was good at this.
- 21:26Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 21:26Speaker 4: So yeah, so when I was a kid that I
- 21:28Speaker 4: felt like for me like that, that was a dream
- 21:30Speaker 4: player where my dad was, my my my cousin played there.
- 21:33Speaker 4: He was the main orde receivers for Ben Roethlisberger and
- 21:36Speaker 4: he is in Miami. I've been running around here so
- 21:38Speaker 4: I was two years old, so I felt like it
- 21:40Speaker 4: was only right that I continued there. But my mom,
- 21:43Speaker 4: she told me I couldn't even I got the offer.
- 21:46Speaker 4: She got an offer from Ohio State and a team
- 21:48Speaker 4: up north before I got there. Took him a long
- 21:50Speaker 4: time to come.
- 21:50Speaker 1: Around or offer for me.
- 21:52Speaker 4: But but my mom, My mom's siwe of the family.
- 21:55Speaker 4: She's from Detroit. So for me, I grew up washing
- 21:59Speaker 4: the Wolverines. I grew up watching Michigan State. So once
- 22:03Speaker 4: she told me I couldn't play in the MAC, she
- 22:06Speaker 4: you know, I I started to look at you couldn't
- 22:09Speaker 4: playing the MAC.
- 22:10Speaker 1: They weren't good enough. Yeah, so what she told.
- 22:12Speaker 3: Me, so.
- 22:16Speaker 2: If you would have gone to Miami of Ohio he'd
- 22:20Speaker 2: still be probably yeah, well no questions.
- 22:22Speaker 1: I'm just saying like it had been that had have
- 22:23Speaker 1: been like thank you so much. Yeah, I'm gonna be
- 22:28Speaker 1: named after him. Yeah yeah, So I mean it was cool.
- 22:31Speaker 1: It was cool.
- 22:32Speaker 4: I mean, I I like, as a kid, like Ohio
- 22:35Speaker 4: State since since they're they're from there. For me, like
- 22:38Speaker 4: if we watched the game, I was to watch the
- 22:40Speaker 4: other side, you know, so when I came, so I
- 22:43Speaker 4: eventually came here. It's kind of crazy because like as
- 22:46Speaker 4: a kid, when I watched the game, I was watching
- 22:48Speaker 4: over ens, you know.
- 22:50Speaker 1: Now you know, just being here.
- 22:52Speaker 4: I honestly came here because you know, I came here
- 22:54Speaker 4: for the family and the brotherhood and the guys they
- 22:56Speaker 4: came before. It showed the way, but really getting recruited
- 22:59Speaker 4: from Coach Mina and his philosophy and his history of
- 23:03Speaker 4: just winning, and then with Coach Day and the family
- 23:07Speaker 4: vibe he brought and the winning coach I feel like
- 23:09Speaker 4: he had. I felt like, you know, I feel like
- 23:11Speaker 4: that that's that's what ultimate. It brought me here.
- 23:14Speaker 3: Talk more about the family vibe better coach Day that
- 23:16Speaker 3: Coach Day brings.
- 23:18Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean I would say like he's a true players.
- 23:21Speaker 1: Coach.
- 23:22Speaker 4: I would say, you know, he's type of coach where
- 23:24Speaker 4: but when you come around, it's not like you're like,
- 23:27Speaker 4: you know when you change up.
- 23:28Speaker 1: Yeah, you know what I mean.
- 23:29Speaker 4: So he comes to the room and you're, you know,
- 23:31Speaker 4: you're excited to see him come in the room. I
- 23:34Speaker 4: would just say the way the way he coaches, and
- 23:36Speaker 4: the way like he inspires, and the way he's only
- 23:39Speaker 4: one of his coach. I felt just too, there's a
- 23:40Speaker 4: coach where you play you guys, know, like where you
- 23:44Speaker 4: played good for a coach who you might might fear,
- 23:46Speaker 4: like not trying to get yelled at, trying not to
- 23:48Speaker 4: make a mistake. He played a different level. When I
- 23:51Speaker 4: think there's a coach where like you're trying to press
- 23:54Speaker 4: that coach. You're trying to you know, you like love
- 23:57Speaker 4: that coach in a way where like you play a
- 24:00Speaker 4: whole different way without any fear, without any word or anything.
- 24:03Speaker 1: You just want to win for him.
- 24:04Speaker 4: You just want to win for him because you appreciate
- 24:06Speaker 4: him that much, versus like I don't want him to
- 24:08Speaker 4: say anything. So I'm just kind of like, do you
- 24:10Speaker 4: understand It's like I hope you know I do the
- 24:14Speaker 4: right thing.
- 24:14Speaker 1: You know what I mean absolutely like Verbel.
- 24:16Speaker 2: Yeah, with your process coming out as a junior, did
- 24:20Speaker 2: you say I.
- 24:21Speaker 1: Said, yeah, like Verbel?
- 24:22Speaker 3: Yeah yeah, talking about the coach that you kind of
- 24:25Speaker 3: you kind of like, guy, I don't want to fuck up?
- 24:26Speaker 2: Oh yeah, Raybe will put you on blast?
- 24:30Speaker 1: Wait we're paying you? How much money? Harris? What is this?
- 24:33Speaker 1: And it was for the whole entire team.
- 24:35Speaker 2: What you like, I'm un drafted cat like putting a
- 24:37Speaker 2: spin move on you and you're just like, oh my god,
- 24:39Speaker 2: I'm gonna get Did you.
- 24:40Speaker 1: Want an interview? I did. I was the interview. It
- 24:43Speaker 1: was cool.
- 24:44Speaker 4: I mean it was cool trying to be trying to
- 24:47Speaker 4: be a big dog you I mean no, no, but
- 24:50Speaker 4: I mean I mean as soon as I came in.
- 24:52Speaker 4: I came in, I had a whole bunch of stuff. Man,
- 24:55Speaker 4: I like two backpacks, I got the combine water bottle
- 24:58Speaker 4: is huge.
- 24:59Speaker 1: Yeah, me from going camping. And I'm like no, I
- 25:03Speaker 1: was like no, no, no, don't laugh at you know,
- 25:07Speaker 1: laugh No. But I'm more so loving because you know,
- 25:09Speaker 1: Ray would say some ship like that, what do you like?
- 25:11Speaker 1: What do you say? Like this, like what are you
- 25:12Speaker 1: going camping? Yeah? Yeah?
- 25:15Speaker 4: And then it was so funny. I mean, he said
- 25:16Speaker 4: a couple of things that were so funny, and I
- 25:18Speaker 4: will laugh and then like, I will laugh and hold
- 25:21Speaker 4: room and laugh, and I peak in a corner and
- 25:23Speaker 4: he has the most serious face. He just said the
- 25:25Speaker 4: funniest thing in the world, but like his the most
- 25:27Speaker 4: serious face. That was a test. I'm laughing, I'm like,
- 25:30Speaker 4: and then I lock in too. He's locked and I'm
- 25:31Speaker 4: locked in. Yeah, but dude, he sees I mean, he
- 25:34Speaker 4: was a cool guy.
- 25:35Speaker 1: He serious.
- 25:35Speaker 4: I guess that was humor. It was like kind of
- 25:37Speaker 4: a serious it's funny, big dog.
- 25:42Speaker 1: It's an alpha humor. Yeah.
- 25:43Speaker 2: Yeah, But you don't seem like a chirpy guy, like
- 25:45Speaker 2: a guy that's gonna talk back or anything like that.
- 25:47Speaker 1: Are you a chirpy guy?
- 25:49Speaker 4: But when I'm on the field a little bit, I mean,
- 25:52Speaker 4: I would say, I mean, when I'm on the field,
- 25:54Speaker 4: I kind of I don't talk until we score because
- 25:57Speaker 4: besides that, I'm getting a player car and I'm trying
- 25:58Speaker 4: to breathe. But you can talking as much you. I'm
- 26:00Speaker 4: just said, looking at you breathing, you know what I mean?
- 26:04Speaker 1: That such a line of response. I talked to my guard,
- 26:09Speaker 1: you know, what I mean.
- 26:09Speaker 4: And once once we score and on field go I'm
- 26:12Speaker 4: talking crazy on field goal. That's talk crazy on field goals,
- 26:15Speaker 4: extra play and I'm going you know, so I'm talking crazy.
- 26:18Speaker 4: And then that's usually when it comes back to bite
- 26:20Speaker 4: me because I've done all that talking on touchdown.
- 26:22Speaker 1: Then they load up right on me. They don't even
- 26:24Speaker 1: care about the.
- 26:24Speaker 2: Kick, you dummy. Get on that wing, dude, the wings
- 26:28Speaker 2: where you want to be on field goal?
- 26:29Speaker 1: I was right in the middle of I was right
- 26:31Speaker 1: in the middle. You know they're going to put him
- 26:33Speaker 1: like it, you know. Yeah, the worst place to be
- 26:35Speaker 1: is the tight end position on field goal. I heard that,
- 26:37Speaker 1: but it seems easy. You're going against like guys, you
- 26:40Speaker 1: want to you want us to cut that.
- 26:41Speaker 2: You definitely want to cutch that because they will put
- 26:43Speaker 2: you at the ton of position. Brother, you have one
- 26:46Speaker 2: on the right, one the left, and one right.
- 26:48Speaker 1: In the face.
- 26:48Speaker 2: That's where they try to come at you in the NFL,
- 26:51Speaker 2: huh they And then the best is being the wing
- 26:53Speaker 2: and you gotta just watch him get demolished. Then some
- 26:55Speaker 2: little corners like all right, that fucking sucks. I was
- 26:58Speaker 2: in the a This is not about me. This the
- 27:01Speaker 2: show is not about me.
- 27:02Speaker 1: My brother. I got demolish playing T my rookie year.
- 27:04Speaker 1: I hated it.
- 27:05Speaker 2: Clay Matthews, That's all I'm gonna says. A bit of
- 27:08Speaker 2: a deal you anything else for the boy?
- 27:10Speaker 1: I don't think so. Man, this has been awesome. Yeah,
- 27:13Speaker 1: you seem you seem like a very humble individual.
- 27:17Speaker 3: Two things from JP did not allow a sack on
- 27:21Speaker 3: four hundred and four hundred and forty nine past blocking snaps.
- 27:30Speaker 1: Didn't allow us sack. Who's the hardest to block?
- 27:39Speaker 4: I would say probably the JT from here from from
- 27:43Speaker 4: Ohio State. He was my roommate this past year. Dude
- 27:48Speaker 4: is a beast. He's a freak. He's like six five,
- 27:51Speaker 4: two seventy. He's versatile, speed and power. Yeah, and I'll
- 27:55Speaker 4: say with him, I would say he kind of prepared
- 27:57Speaker 4: me a lot this past season. From all he was like,
- 28:00Speaker 4: I don't know if you saw the Penn State game.
- 28:01Speaker 4: P State Penn State game. He had like fifty six touchdowns.
- 28:05Speaker 4: Damn he was going stupid.
- 28:06Speaker 1: He's a or something.
- 28:09Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, did he went off, went interception, he had
- 28:12Speaker 2: a sack, force recovery, two touchdowns, went crazy, went crazy
- 28:17Speaker 2: in that game.
- 28:18Speaker 4: Outside of your own teammates was some of the teammates.
- 28:20Speaker 4: I would say Carter from Georgia.
- 28:23Speaker 1: He was the beast.
- 28:24Speaker 4: I would say it was good, It was good. I
- 28:26Speaker 4: like who first played the game? That wasn't the first place?
- 28:29Speaker 4: I think was the third played the game? Was a
- 28:30Speaker 4: te and im the d n inside and the Carter
- 28:36Speaker 4: comes around.
- 28:37Speaker 1: I don't like, still a little hunt move.
- 28:38Speaker 4: So I slammed down on him and he took his
- 28:41Speaker 4: inside hand and hit nothing but chance strap. I was like, yo,
- 28:47Speaker 4: sec is different.
- 28:49Speaker 1: We can't. We gotta cut that part. Yeah, Big ten football, brother, right,
- 28:54Speaker 1: we were a Big ten. We were big. We were
- 28:56Speaker 1: a pro Big ten se different. Like, No, we've asked
- 29:03Speaker 1: this question to your head coach and your OC.
- 29:06Speaker 2: If you guys didn't make the College Fwall Playoff, would
- 29:09Speaker 2: you guys have been rooting for Michigan to win?
- 29:11Speaker 1: Not at all? No, what do you mean?
- 29:13Speaker 2: No, No, it'll not be selfish nonga to think about it.
- 29:16Speaker 2: Let me just put this in your head for a SECONDU.
- 29:17Speaker 2: I already had to do this two times. I'll do
- 29:18Speaker 2: it one more time and that's all I'm gonna do it.
- 29:21Speaker 2: The Big Ten is the second best conference in college
- 29:23Speaker 2: for war right now, because the national Championship trophy just
- 29:27Speaker 2: lives in the SEC. We need to band together as
- 29:31Speaker 2: a conference and root for whoever is in the college
- 29:33Speaker 2: wall playoffs.
- 29:35Speaker 1: You obays hear that. Watch the Game of Thrones. I
- 29:37Speaker 1: watched it. Here's so, what do the Game of Thrones do?
- 29:39Speaker 3: The Seven Kingdoms when they're all battling, they put down
- 29:41Speaker 3: the rivalries because they had to. They had to defeat
- 29:44Speaker 3: the White Walkers first, so they kind of made peace
- 29:46Speaker 3: for a minute. But hey, once the White Walkers are done,
- 29:48Speaker 3: we're all back in. We're all back on our ship.
- 29:51Speaker 3: The White Walker right now is the SEC. Once we
- 29:53Speaker 3: defeat the SEC and bring that trophy back to the
- 29:55Speaker 3: Big ten, then we can get back to hating each other.
- 29:58Speaker 1: Would that not make sense in a situation like that? Yeah?
- 30:00Speaker 4: But like you remember, but what's the like one lady,
- 30:05Speaker 4: the lady who all her daughters died, Our kids died,
- 30:08Speaker 4: remember them talking about? Oh? Yes, remember she wasn't going
- 30:14Speaker 4: for that. She wasn't trying to back down. The game
- 30:17Speaker 4: took her so long though, you know what I mean,
- 30:19Speaker 4: she really wasn't trying to get on board. We're not
- 30:22Speaker 4: gonna talk about what happened to her necessarily, we're not
- 30:25Speaker 4: going to. But at the same time though, like that's
- 30:27Speaker 4: kind of like us with really, yeah, we's to think
- 30:33Speaker 4: if if Nebraska is in the playoffs, man, let's go
- 30:35Speaker 4: to your thing. But we can't do it with the
- 30:39Speaker 4: Wolverines though, you know what I mean, like you can't,
- 30:42Speaker 4: Like it's just you can't. This motherfucker for you. They did,
- 30:47Speaker 4: they did.
- 30:48Speaker 1: Didn't go to Michigan.
- 30:49Speaker 4: No, I mean I love Coach School always kind of
- 30:52Speaker 4: my school.
- 30:52Speaker 1: What flips you to Ohio State if you grew up
- 30:54Speaker 1: kind of watching the Wolverines. Yeah, I think just time
- 30:57Speaker 1: of Coach Meyer. I mean I just I mean mom
- 31:00Speaker 1: was the deniment. I my mom.
- 31:02Speaker 4: She was, she loves she loves Coach Harball. I mean
- 31:05Speaker 4: she she talked a long time. I mean he was
- 31:09Speaker 4: I know, but I mean I don't know Nebraska. No,
- 31:15Speaker 4: you were from now though, I would if they went
- 31:18Speaker 4: to the playoffs over if they.
- 31:20Speaker 1: Over wore, give you a fight of your life. Afraid
- 31:23Speaker 1: to say Michigan was crazy.
- 31:25Speaker 4: That game was crazy? Well yeah we won all the
- 31:27Speaker 4: field goals. Yeah, that game. They're the best three and
- 31:31Speaker 4: nine team to ever exist that year without it, like
- 31:34Speaker 4: that that's like a thing because they lost by like
- 31:37Speaker 4: a come by.
- 31:38Speaker 1: They lost by.
- 31:38Speaker 4: Like maybe an average of like three four points every game,
- 31:42Speaker 4: every game, four points.
- 31:43Speaker 1: Away from being in the playoffs. He watches enough. He
- 31:46Speaker 1: says that the best three and nineteen what exist? What
- 31:50Speaker 1: number do you want to wear in the NFL?
- 31:55Speaker 3: Question?
- 31:55Speaker 1: The reason why we're number seventy seven.
- 31:57Speaker 4: So originally, so I as soon as I got the
- 32:02Speaker 4: high school and I switched to tackle my my head
- 32:05Speaker 4: coach at the time, he just gave it to me.
- 32:07Speaker 4: He was like, the last got to wear it was
- 32:09Speaker 4: a dog, So I'm gonna give it to you. At
- 32:11Speaker 4: the time, I was only on special team, so I
- 32:13Speaker 4: was like, I was a field goal specialist. So I
- 32:15Speaker 4: caught myself when we ran out there when they scored,
- 32:17Speaker 4: so I was a field goal specialist.
- 32:19Speaker 1: There we go, boys shine.
- 32:23Speaker 4: So that's why I did is a sophomore until eventually
- 32:25Speaker 4: someone got hurt and then that's when I just took
- 32:28Speaker 4: over from there and the end of the season.
- 32:30Speaker 1: But that's kind of why I wear it.
- 32:31Speaker 4: But now, like those things like when I came to
- 32:33Speaker 4: the house, stay like I talked to coach day and
- 32:35Speaker 4: I'm like, yo, like I talked because in the end
- 32:38Speaker 4: it came down here Lsu and I was like, coach Day,
- 32:40Speaker 4: I talked. It was someone coach Myles, when I come here,
- 32:43Speaker 4: I want to have that number because some already had it.
- 32:46Speaker 4: And I was like, I want to have that number
- 32:48Speaker 4: and he was like, we'll get it done. And I talked.
- 32:50Speaker 4: And then when he left, Day came, I was like,
- 32:53Speaker 4: you know, I don't worry about the number. Is just
- 32:55Speaker 4: a number. You'll come here and I'm like, I talked
- 32:56Speaker 4: to coach oh Lsu. He said he was gonna do
- 33:00Speaker 4: who is gonna leave? So I'm gonna get the number.
- 33:03Speaker 4: I was like, I need seventy seven to come on
- 33:04Speaker 4: the house date. Then they moved, people started changing numbers and.
- 33:10Speaker 1: I came right for me, it was that important. I
- 33:12Speaker 1: just it just looks clean. I'm with you the best
- 33:14Speaker 1: lever for you know.
- 33:17Speaker 4: I was talking mom about it, like, you know, if
- 33:19Speaker 4: I don't get it in the NFL, Like what would
- 33:22Speaker 4: I do?
- 33:23Speaker 1: I mean, I mean, I let means the ball out.
- 33:25Speaker 4: I mean I would I wouldn't know what number, Like
- 33:26Speaker 4: like you pay I got seventy three, will.
- 33:29Speaker 2: You pay another player? If a guy who's wearing seventy seventy. Say, hey, hey,
- 33:31Speaker 2: what's gonna cost to get that number?
- 33:33Speaker 1: Like a realistic price? Though?
- 33:34Speaker 4: Ten thousand, ten thousand, okay, because I was talking on
- 33:36Speaker 4: my teammate.
- 33:37Speaker 1: They're making pay the numbers. Seventy seven thousand.
- 33:39Speaker 2: Oh, it could be seventy seven thousand, but I know
- 33:41Speaker 2: guys get numbers for like ten thousand and fifteen thousand.
- 33:44Speaker 2: Me I would pay my whole entire salary to be
- 33:47Speaker 2: number seventy seven. I'm not ever gonna wear like fifty.
- 33:49Speaker 3: One one is a left ackle bull rushes straight.
- 33:56Speaker 2: Seventy one built for that bull rush though, come on now,
- 33:59Speaker 2: seventy one seven seven, those are really the only two numbers.
- 34:04Speaker 2: I think that's I think.
- 34:07Speaker 1: That's a cool number, but it's not seventy seven. I
- 34:09Speaker 1: gotta respect the sevens.
- 34:10Speaker 4: I talked my teammate there with the Raiders, and I'm like,
- 34:12Speaker 4: if I go to Raiders, I was like, you know,
- 34:15Speaker 4: he's my cousin too, So I was like, hey, like,
- 34:17Speaker 4: if I give you ten thousand for maybe twenty thousand
- 34:19Speaker 4: for it. If I came like, diuld you give it
- 34:21Speaker 4: to me, It's like I'll sell it to you for
- 34:23Speaker 4: forty five thousand.
- 34:24Speaker 1: You got to give him that money.
- 34:25Speaker 4: I was like, you're wolding forty five. I think tom
- 34:28Speaker 4: Brady paid like thirty. I got Brady, tom Brady.
- 34:33Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 34:33Speaker 2: Tom Brady was like, hey, I want your number. I'd
- 34:35Speaker 2: be like, will you sign a jersey for me? I'll
- 34:38Speaker 2: be like yeah, So I'd be like, you can have
- 34:40Speaker 2: my number in my cleats it's tom Brady. Yeah, you know,
- 34:43Speaker 2: get my number, you know, whatever you want. Brother, But like, yeah, listen,
- 34:47Speaker 2: don't think of it like this. They don't think us, Hey,
- 34:48Speaker 2: this is forty five thousand dollars. They us like, this
- 34:51Speaker 2: is the legacy you want to have with that number?
- 34:54Speaker 2: Now it's an infinite amount.
- 34:56Speaker 3: Or if you're gonna pay money for a number, then
- 34:58Speaker 3: maybe let's not talk about state taxes. You're paying for
- 35:01Speaker 3: one or the other. You know what I'm saying. Charitable Cousture,
- 35:06Speaker 3: right off, right, right?
- 35:28Speaker 1: What was it? Capstone? Hey, three years journalism? Yeah. I
- 35:33Speaker 1: was scared to ask if I was gonna be like
- 35:34Speaker 1: general studies like.
- 35:35Speaker 2: Him, Uh, talk to us about your educ your educat
- 35:40Speaker 2: hold on, I got this in three years.
- 35:47Speaker 3: So we got our guy, and he's just raving about parents,
- 35:51Speaker 3: just being a stud in the classroom three year graduate
- 35:56Speaker 3: journalism school.
- 35:57Speaker 1: What did he say about the cap thing he did.
- 35:59Speaker 2: A cap a capstone report that he did during season
- 36:02Speaker 2: that they couldn't believe that he did. So two questions.
- 36:06Speaker 2: How was like, how hard was it to get your
- 36:08Speaker 2: degree in those three years?
- 36:09Speaker 1: Then? Who did that project for you during the season?
- 36:14Speaker 4: So so so one, I would say, that's part of
- 36:18Speaker 4: the reason why I left high school.
- 36:20Speaker 1: I mean I switched high schools.
- 36:21Speaker 4: I went for private public my senior year so I
- 36:23Speaker 4: can earlier role because I wanted to get in three years.
- 36:26Speaker 4: I haven't seen anybody in Ohio state go in the
- 36:29Speaker 4: first round and get their degree in three years. One
- 36:32Speaker 4: of the other I was like, I had to challenge myself.
- 36:34Speaker 4: I'm like, why not do both? My mom her backgrounds
- 36:37Speaker 4: and education, So like she she worked Mima Ohio. She
- 36:41Speaker 4: was like the she was like the the what's it called?
- 36:45Speaker 4: You don't know her name with Dina, but she was
- 36:46Speaker 4: like the academic advisor.
- 36:50Speaker 1: Didn't he didn't play it?
- 36:52Speaker 3: Oh yeah, yeah, she was on it.
- 36:58Speaker 4: So she was there for Ben Roethlisberg and for Sean
- 37:00Speaker 4: McVay makeing sure I went the class.
- 37:01Speaker 1: So it was my turn. She was on me.
- 37:04Speaker 4: So the first day, So the first day before campus,
- 37:08Speaker 4: when I was doing classes, I'm like on two I'm like,
- 37:11Speaker 4: I'm playing video games on two. K. He's okay, you
- 37:13Speaker 4: should help me sign up for his classes. I'm like,
- 37:15Speaker 4: now you got it, that's your background, you got it.
- 37:17Speaker 4: You pick, I'll go. I'm signing for eighteen credit hours
- 37:20Speaker 4: at the Gate. I'm taking classes with juniors. Seniors. You know,
- 37:25Speaker 4: I'm walking up to the teacher to ask questions. I
- 37:27Speaker 4: didn't know to use the bathroom. I didn't know anybody,
- 37:30Speaker 4: you know what I mean. So she set me up
- 37:31Speaker 4: for a hard semester. But in a way, it kind
- 37:34Speaker 4: of helped me out. I took all the hard classes
- 37:36Speaker 4: at the Gate, where the rest got easy. And with
- 37:38Speaker 4: the capstone project, it's only like one paper for the
- 37:43Speaker 4: whole semester, but that's your whole grade. And it's me
- 37:46Speaker 4: and and so it was it was me and a classmate.
- 37:49Speaker 4: And he's a cool guy and he's on a volleyball team.
- 37:53Speaker 4: So we worked on it together. Obviously in season I
- 37:57Speaker 4: had different responsibilities that he did, and it's awesome. It's
- 38:01Speaker 4: because honestly, he was a good partner to you know what,
- 38:03Speaker 4: I mean, because you know, he was out of season.
- 38:05Speaker 4: I'm in season. There's certain things I would take care of.
- 38:09Speaker 4: All the work with that class, Monday Tuesday, I would
- 38:12Speaker 4: take as much on well, from from Sunday to Monday Tuesday,
- 38:17Speaker 4: a little bit of Wednesday, because on Thursday and on
- 38:22Speaker 4: it exists for me, you know what I mean. So
- 38:24Speaker 4: I tried to take care of as much as I can.
- 38:26Speaker 4: And yeah, he'll be there on draft. I mean, no, no,
- 38:32Speaker 4: but that's my guy.
- 38:35Speaker 2: My god, he's got some Quentin Nelson vibe to him. Yeah,
- 38:39Speaker 2: calm but confident.
- 38:41Speaker 1: Yeah, and kind of a not in a bad way.
- 38:44Speaker 1: That was not a negative at all Nelson you know. Quote. Yeah,
- 38:47Speaker 1: he's very from super Guard. Yeah, I think he's just
- 38:51Speaker 1: called super Guard in general. He's a dude. Yeah, there's
- 38:54Speaker 1: no question about it. Brother. Did we have anything else?
- 38:57Speaker 1: I was gonna say, are you going to the draft?
- 38:59Speaker 1: I am? Yeah.
- 39:00Speaker 2: Where's the that's in Kansas City this year, right in
- 39:02Speaker 2: the city. That's gonna be awesome.
- 39:04Speaker 3: And uh, Oklahoma, Joe's Oklahoma, Joe's Yeah.
- 39:07Speaker 1: I got yeah, you got a uh you got a
- 39:10Speaker 1: little beef jerky? Yeah? What we got here?
- 39:12Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 39:12Speaker 1: I hooking the boys up Paris cut.
- 39:16Speaker 4: You got some Paris cuts. It a pretty good I'm
- 39:18Speaker 4: not gonna cut.
- 39:20Speaker 3: What's the company here? Charkou Charkey Sharkey Jerky company, Charkey
- 39:27Speaker 3: Jerky company, Taylor, you know what we have to do it? Fourteen?
- 39:35Speaker 1: What's the review team? Live review? Extremely tender. You're a
- 39:40Speaker 1: little nervous right now. I'm not nervous, man. How did
- 39:43Speaker 1: you know? Did you?
- 39:49Speaker 5: Little?
- 39:49Speaker 1: Nice smell? Alright?
- 39:53Speaker 5: Here we go Parris, Paris, Paris is cut his analyzing
- 40:07Speaker 5: right now? What do you think?
- 40:37Speaker 1: I love the smell coming out of the gate, sweet
- 40:41Speaker 1: and smoky. You can smell that.
- 40:43Speaker 3: I love the moisture in a jerky because you can
- 40:45Speaker 3: go to the gas station you find dry jerky like that.
- 40:47Speaker 1: It is hard hard ride.
- 40:51Speaker 3: When I touch I had to kind of lick my fingertips,
- 40:53Speaker 3: just because it's got that moisture on there, which is
- 40:55Speaker 3: a good thing.
- 40:56Speaker 1: It's a little juicy, sweet and smoky.
- 40:58Speaker 3: I think the sweetness could come out a little litle
- 41:00Speaker 3: bit more, but the smokiness is there now. I taste
- 41:02Speaker 3: that peprikin. It's got a little garlic flavor as well,
- 41:05Speaker 3: kind of brings it out a good chew. I would
- 41:08Speaker 3: like a little bit more, a little bit more chewiness
- 41:11Speaker 3: to it. However, I think the ratio of the combination
- 41:13Speaker 3: of it compliments each other very well. Overall, I think
- 41:17Speaker 3: I see myself four point five. Four point five, Yeah,
- 41:24Speaker 3: four point five. I like that answer. Yeah, I think
- 41:26Speaker 3: it's strong. I felt good giving that. Yeah, that was
- 41:29Speaker 3: good Paris cut. I agree with William when it comes
- 41:34Speaker 3: to the sweet and smoky. I think the smoky you
- 41:35Speaker 3: get that, give that a roama right off the top.
- 41:37Speaker 3: As soon as you open up the back, you know, hey,
- 41:38Speaker 3: I'm in for a little bit of a smoky experience here.
- 41:40Speaker 2: Yes, you reach your hand on down in there, and
- 41:42Speaker 2: you can feel the texture, you can feel the moisture
- 41:45Speaker 2: in the bag, which a lot of people like that
- 41:47Speaker 2: real chewy, tough jerky.
- 41:48Speaker 1: Me personally, I'm not got sensitive teeth. I like to
- 41:50Speaker 1: make sure they get some chew in there.
- 41:52Speaker 2: I liked the smoky part, or would like to have
- 41:55Speaker 2: a little more sweet, not because I enjoy sweet jerky,
- 41:57Speaker 2: but because if it says it on the bag a
- 42:00Speaker 2: little bit, I'm expecting a.
- 42:01Speaker 1: Little more sweetness.
- 42:02Speaker 2: I did enjoy the subtle hints of heat that came
- 42:06Speaker 2: through as I chewed morange at the jerky. Yeah, and
- 42:08Speaker 2: I did like a girl. I'm a big girlic guy.
- 42:10Speaker 2: I enjoyed that a lot. I also noticed that your
- 42:12Speaker 2: partnered with A second and seven, which is part of
- 42:14Speaker 2: a Mike Rabels Foundation.
- 42:16Speaker 1: I don't know if we know that.
- 42:17Speaker 2: Yeah, so great foundation obviously going to a good cause
- 42:20Speaker 2: of phenomenal picture of you right here. It looks sharp
- 42:23Speaker 2: in that outstanding I guess if I had to give
- 42:27Speaker 2: it a rating, you gotta put a number on it. Yeah,
- 42:30Speaker 2: I know it's tough because it's it's good jerky, and
- 42:34Speaker 2: I was pleasantly surprised by the heat I got towards
- 42:36Speaker 2: the middle of that bite. I'm gonna give it a
- 42:41Speaker 2: let me give it a four point five. Yeah, we'll
- 42:45Speaker 2: take it. What'd you think of that whole description? I mean,
- 42:48Speaker 2: I thought that was deep. I mean I thought that
- 42:49Speaker 2: was pretty deep. I thought the way you analyze the
- 42:52Speaker 2: sweet and smokiness and even touch and the chewiness.
- 42:55Speaker 1: I thought, would you almost retaste it? Yeah?
- 42:57Speaker 4: I could almost. I was starting to think about like
- 43:00Speaker 4: a little heat and a little garlic. I'm like, I didn't,
- 43:02Speaker 4: I didn't even really even since the now you say,
- 43:05Speaker 4: I can taste the gardic a little bit now in
- 43:07Speaker 4: my mind.
- 43:08Speaker 1: Yeah, you're gonna taste all of that. Sarahbellum back there,
- 43:12Speaker 1: yeah yeah, coming back to me. Are you go ahead?
- 43:14Speaker 1: Are you coming to show tonight? Yeah? Yeah yeah, Are
- 43:17Speaker 1: you really? Yeah? I don't know what time it is,
- 43:19Speaker 1: but I heard about it and I don't want to come.
- 43:21Speaker 3: Bro.
- 43:21Speaker 1: Yeah, I be honest, you have me nobody else. Yeah,
- 43:30Speaker 1: that'd be cool. Mitch. He's a massive Ohio State fan,
- 43:33Speaker 1: bigger than his head.
- 43:34Speaker 2: Uh.
- 43:35Speaker 3: Do you have any questions, Let's cat you hands.
- 43:46Speaker 1: You can use a.
- 43:49Speaker 4: Yeah, No, I'm not gonna I'm not gonna do that. Uh.
- 43:57Speaker 6: I guess you like the players have any like cool
- 44:01Speaker 6: like traditions that they do that like they're not asking
- 44:04Speaker 6: for like an initiation type process that you guys do,
- 44:06Speaker 6: but like cool. Uh, whether it's like you guys go
- 44:10Speaker 6: out and do something together, Like is there any cool
- 44:12Speaker 6: like traditions that the players have themselves or maybe just
- 44:14Speaker 6: the old lineman or just the offense.
- 44:16Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 44:16Speaker 4: So I would say when I got here, I would
- 44:20Speaker 4: say it was kind of the first thing is that
- 44:22Speaker 4: when you get invited to the group chat with the
- 44:24Speaker 4: O line thing, it was kind of a big thing
- 44:27Speaker 4: because the first one was with like the guys from
- 44:32Speaker 4: like years past, Like there's a bunch of guys in
- 44:34Speaker 4: the past, Like even like the first one I got
- 44:36Speaker 4: invited to, even like the Dwayne Haskins when he was
- 44:39Speaker 4: he was in it. There was other guys like there
- 44:41Speaker 4: have been in the leaf for a couple of years,
- 44:43Speaker 4: like the Mega Chat.
- 44:44Speaker 1: There's only at the twenty.
- 44:46Speaker 4: So like as soon as you got the invite, like
- 44:47Speaker 4: you didn't want to tell any other guys in the
- 44:49Speaker 4: class because either they're in there they're not, you know,
- 44:51Speaker 4: you don't want disappoint them. But like once you got it,
- 44:53Speaker 4: you're like, dang, like I'm part of the boys for real.
- 44:55Speaker 4: And then that was like the alum chat. Even though
- 44:59Speaker 4: be a young guy, it was kind of cool. And
- 45:00Speaker 4: then besides that, we had a thing with the Beef
- 45:03Speaker 4: House that so a lot of guys gotta go yeah.
- 45:07Speaker 1: Yeah, so the beef House.
- 45:08Speaker 4: You had a beef house and guys like Josh Myers's house,
- 45:12Speaker 4: it was him Max Ray, You're.
- 45:16Speaker 1: Going to do your house for the beef House. Yeah yeah, yeah.
- 45:18Speaker 1: So so it's it's all, it's all the it's the meathouse.
- 45:23Speaker 4: Yeah, it's so it's it was all the older offensive
- 45:28Speaker 4: linemen and our full backs and our tight ends all
- 45:30Speaker 4: stayed there, and it was it was it was a
- 45:33Speaker 4: small little house off campus.
- 45:34Speaker 1: I want a small house. It was a little house
- 45:36Speaker 1: off campus.
- 45:37Speaker 4: And so they had they had all the cookouts and
- 45:40Speaker 4: stuff like that, and again to get the invite, like,
- 45:43Speaker 4: you know, huge, so you're throwing a little fit.
- 45:46Speaker 1: We're not a little fit.
- 45:47Speaker 2: But you put the meadhouse, dude, you gotta puttle something
- 45:52Speaker 2: on it.
- 45:52Speaker 1: Look good?
- 45:53Speaker 4: Yeah, you know what I mean, left alone the meathhouse. Yeah, yeah,
- 45:57Speaker 4: so it was cool. So I'll say, like on a
- 46:00Speaker 4: the stuff like that as an line, be able to
- 46:02Speaker 4: do that. And then as soon as those guys left. Now,
- 46:05Speaker 4: but we do, like me and Luke my center, we
- 46:08Speaker 4: we had a thing with brewsters.
- 46:10Speaker 1: So to take all the guys that line.
- 46:12Speaker 4: So it was like all twenty two of us at
- 46:14Speaker 4: the time to all go out to get some food
- 46:16Speaker 4: as many wings we wanted, just just taking it.
- 46:19Speaker 1: Stuff like that. So some we did this past year.
- 46:22Speaker 1: Love that beefy jerk is all about the beef dude.
- 46:28Speaker 2: Side note, while I was eating your jerky too, if
- 46:29Speaker 2: my teeth came out, so are you sure.
- 46:31Speaker 1: Yeah, it's we can wrap this up. Yeah, but hey,
- 46:39Speaker 1: this is awesome.
- 46:39Speaker 2: We appreciate you coming on. I know you're busy world
