- 0:00SPEAKER_03: Hey, welcome to the Trap Souls Podcast.
- 0:02SPEAKER_03: We're here with another Beyond the Spirits with Chris Boggs, the mortician out of Pennsylvania.
- 0:08SPEAKER_03: How you doing?
- 0:09SPEAKER_01: What's going on, guys?
- 0:10SPEAKER_01: I'm good to be here.
- 0:11SPEAKER_01: Thanks for having me.
- 0:12SPEAKER_03: Hey, thanks for coming on.
- 0:13SPEAKER_03: Um, always looking for special guests, and you got your mug as always.
- 0:20SPEAKER_01: I mean, gotta have got tea tonight, not coffee though.
- 0:23SPEAKER_03: Okay, yeah, I mean, I always enjoy reading all your posts, the daily coffee conversations, they bring light into your day, I guess you want to say, make you think a little bit.
- 0:33SPEAKER_03: Oh, absolutely.
- 0:34SPEAKER_03: One reason we want to invite you on, plus mortician, paranormal.
- 0:38SPEAKER_03: It's it's a lot.
- 0:40SPEAKER_03: I mean, I I do have a friend that is a mortician, and I'm gonna say this straight up, I'm not kissing your butt or anything, but you guys are a special group, very special.
- 0:50SPEAKER_03: The the type of people you are.
- 0:53SPEAKER_03: That kind of sounds bad, but the way you are.
- 0:55SPEAKER_03: I mean, it's just you can't you can't teach that.
- 0:59SPEAKER_01: I mean, yeah, it's you know, it it is truly, and you know, as corny as this is gonna sound, it is truly a calling.
- 1:06SPEAKER_01: You see some people that get into the profession, and I call a profession because it truly is that you were we're a group of professionals, it's not an industry or anything like that.
- 1:15SPEAKER_01: It is a true profession that um you know, you can you can spot the guys that get in there or even ladies that get in there for the wrong reasons that think it's just oh, I'm gonna wear the nice clothes and try the fancy cars and stuff like that.
- 1:27SPEAKER_01: And that's not what it's about, you know what I mean?
- 1:29SPEAKER_01: It's really about you know helping others and serving people in like their darkest time.
- 1:33SPEAKER_03: I mean like I said, you're special because it's for you to do something and make it about someone else.
- 1:42SPEAKER_03: I mean it's it's about the family.
- 1:45SPEAKER_03: Yep.
- 1:46SPEAKER_03: Again, like you say, there are people that do it for their own reasons in any field that's the same way, but in your field, when it's the most I don't want to say horrific time, but most devastating time in their lives, and you're making it about them feeling making them feel comfortable.
- 2:03SPEAKER_01: I mean, it's it's amazing what you do, and I just want to put that out there because that's all I'm gonna say like about that stuff, but um I appreciate that because a lot of the times you know that you you you know you hear you know a lot about first responders and all like that, but no one ever talks about the you know, like we classify ourselves and our circle, we're we're the last responders.
- 2:26SPEAKER_02: Yeah, you know what I mean?
- 2:27SPEAKER_02: Most definitely, yes.
- 2:28SPEAKER_01: And there's there's times where you know you come home at night and you you give, you know, whether what whether Skylar's already in bed or something like that, you go in and you give her an extra hug or something, you know what I mean?
- 2:39SPEAKER_01: Because it's been one of those days and you've dealt with one of those types of cases.
- 2:43SPEAKER_01: And um if I go through I I explain to people that whether they're interns or apprentices that I work with, and I explain to them if we go through a service and you know the family really from you know, after the arrangements to them coming into the funeral home, if if we're not seen again, then we did our job.
- 3:05SPEAKER_01: It's not about us.
- 3:06SPEAKER_01: We're we're not there to be stars, it's not about you know entertainment or shock value, it's being there to provide the venue, provide the space and the communal mourning for them to be able to begin their acceptance.
- 3:19SPEAKER_01: Because I hate the word closure.
- 3:20SPEAKER_01: You never ever will have closure.
- 3:23SPEAKER_01: It's acceptance, and then re you literally are gonna be rebuilding your life around that loss.
- 3:32SPEAKER_03: It makes sense.
- 3:32SPEAKER_03: I mean, like if you've never seen a gun, you did your job.
- 3:35SPEAKER_03: So, how many I don't I don't want to put this the wrong way, but it it has to drain on you sometimes.
- 3:45SPEAKER_01: And I and so if a lot of people have noticed, I've actually switched um companies.
- 3:50SPEAKER_03: Yes.
- 3:51SPEAKER_01: Uh I've you know, my firm that I was with in Maryland, you know, we were serving 5,000 families a year.
- 3:58SPEAKER_01: And, you know, if I'm a firm believer that every family you serve, you give a little piece of yourself to.
- 4:05SPEAKER_01: And serving that many families, you're giving so much, and you're not having the time to take care of yourself.
- 4:14SPEAKER_01: Self-care, even in any profession, is so important.
- 4:18SPEAKER_01: You have to know when to step back and take time for yourself to you know make sure you're your your head space right, and then physically you're in a good position.
- 4:26SPEAKER_01: So the firm I just started with here in Pennsylvania, um, you know, they're a little bit smaller volume, but we're looking to build that.
- 4:34SPEAKER_01: And it's more, you know, small town country funeral directing.
- 4:38SPEAKER_01: So I'm really looking forward to that being able to be in the community, be more engaged, and I get to be here in my backyard, which is really, really paramount to me to be able to serve my community.
- 4:50SPEAKER_03: Yeah, you talk about like self-time.
- 4:52SPEAKER_03: I mean, we just talked about before we came on about your weekend taking the time out and how it's training, but you still do it for your family.
- 5:04SPEAKER_01: Oh, absolutely.
- 5:05SPEAKER_01: Absolutely.
- 5:06SPEAKER_01: You know, that's that's one of the things with Skylar.
- 5:08SPEAKER_01: It's like that, you know, with the the paranormal with her channel and everything that she's trying to do, it's supporting her because that's become like a a daddy-daughter thing, and that has really that that's just something I really look forward to and that I value.
- 5:22SPEAKER_01: And it's if you you know, you only get four hours sleep, you get four hours sleep.
- 5:26SPEAKER_01: But it's not gonna be an all-the-time thing, and I just don't want to have that.
- 5:30SPEAKER_01: I only get one chance to be a dad.
- 5:32SPEAKER_01: Yes, you know, and I want to make sure that when I put my head down on the pillow at night, just like with work, I can put my head down calmly and easily and not have any worries or regrets.
- 5:43SPEAKER_01: Because I see it every day, man.
- 5:45SPEAKER_01: Life is very short.
- 5:47SPEAKER_01: Enjoy life, it's 100%.
- 5:52SPEAKER_02: And uh, just to go on with that and everything, uh, well, like we first started and everything, you guys popped up on our radar and everything.
- 6:00SPEAKER_02: And just me as a father, I instantly fell in love with it and everything that you sit there and allow Skylar to go do this at nine years old and everything.
- 6:09SPEAKER_02: It's like that that's just downright amazing.
- 6:11SPEAKER_02: And seeing how well she's been doing and everything is just kudos to you guys and everything.
- 6:16SPEAKER_02: You've been doing an amazing job to sit there and support her and everything.
- 6:19SPEAKER_02: You're doing excellent.
- 6:20SPEAKER_01: I mean, it for the I mean, you figure she really started going full force uh either May or June.
- 6:29SPEAKER_01: It was May or June.
- 6:31SPEAKER_01: And um, I mean, it's been a rough road for her, you know.
- 6:33SPEAKER_01: People have given her a ton of crap.
- 6:36SPEAKER_01: A ton of crap.
- 6:37SPEAKER_02: I'm sure.
- 6:37SPEAKER_01: Uh, but I mean I like to call it her and how much how much crap have you got?
- 6:45SPEAKER_01: Uh you know, we were lucky enough that it got nipped in the butt real fast, real fast.
- 6:52SPEAKER_04: Okay.
- 6:52SPEAKER_01: And because a lot of people that have actually been able to investigate with Skyler has explained, like, you know, you they they shut him down really quickly to where like literally they were they got on the phone and called them directly in another state and was just like, look, the person that said it's really respected in the field and was like, I've investigated with this young lady, you have no idea.
- 7:16SPEAKER_01: You know, she's she's investigated better than some adults I've been out on investigations with, and uh, you know, all of a sudden the posts and all were taken offline and things like that.
- 7:25SPEAKER_01: So that's why a lot of her merchandise um has that hashtag, hashtag be like Skylar on it, because that's where that derived from.
- 7:33SPEAKER_01: Like everyone was like, you know, come on, be like Skylar.
- 7:36SPEAKER_01: So that was the cool part about that.
- 7:38SPEAKER_01: But other than that, it's just people, you know, because I don't know if you guys get it, you guys see it every time.
- 7:44SPEAKER_01: You know, people go out and investigate something, and what's the first words that come out of a lot of people's mouth?
- 7:50SPEAKER_01: You know what I mean?
- 7:50SPEAKER_01: Oh my god, this is demonic, this is that, this is that.
- 7:53SPEAKER_01: You know, we do I do my due diligence before we go out on an investigation, figuring out where she's going, what we're gonna do.
- 8:02SPEAKER_01: Like I helped um a local paranormal group out doing a private investigation at a residence, which we didn't know anything about or what we were gonna deal with, so obviously she didn't go on that, you know what I mean?
- 8:13SPEAKER_01: So I'm never gonna my wife and I are never gonna put her in a situation that we would deem would put potentially be dangerous.
- 8:21SPEAKER_01: And you can run into anything anywhere you go, don't get me wrong, but I'm not gonna go find something that has the history of having something nefarious there to put her in that situation, something something truly off the charts and stuff.
- 8:35SPEAKER_01: Yeah, no.
- 8:37SPEAKER_01: And people are just like, well, you know, she's too young to be doing it.
- 8:40SPEAKER_01: You know what, man, everybody's gonna start somewhere, everyone's gotta start somewhere.
- 8:43SPEAKER_01: And here's the thing if we aren't teaching the younger generation and the next generation of paranormal investigators, they're gonna learn from YouTube, you know, people on TV and things like that.
- 8:56SPEAKER_01: Don't get me wrong, there's not everybody's not bad on YouTube, but you know as well as I do, there are certain avenues that it's just yeah, no.
- 9:05SPEAKER_01: What do you guys do?
- 9:06SPEAKER_03: Yeah, then we don't man, I'm on YouTube.
- 9:09SPEAKER_03: Come on, dude.
- 9:11SPEAKER_03: You're the one who's already I know you're on YouTube right now, so I don't know what you're saying.
- 9:18SPEAKER_01: But you know what I mean without saying names, you guys know who we're talking about, you know what I mean?
- 9:22SPEAKER_01: Those groups, those teams that are just like for more of a shock value than you know, actually getting out and investigating.
- 9:30SPEAKER_02: Uh investigating and trying to truly understand the unknown and everything and bring hopefully proof to it.
- 9:37SPEAKER_02: Which I mean, we all know there's something and everything, but you're trying to sit there and try and bring it to more of a scientific realm that hey, there is true hardcore evidence.
- 9:46SPEAKER_01: Yeah, we we've done everything that we can do to try and explain it, but we still can't explain it.
- 9:52SPEAKER_01: You know what I mean?
- 9:53SPEAKER_01: We get to those points because I mean there's been times we've gone out to locations, and it's just like we we you know, two, three hours later, it's like, yeah, we've got absolutely nothing, you know what I mean?
- 10:02SPEAKER_01: But you know what?
- 10:03SPEAKER_01: It happens.
- 10:05SPEAKER_01: Not everything is paranormal.
- 10:08SPEAKER_01: And I think a lot of people they go out and they're like, Well, if I made the trip out here, something's gonna have to go bump in the night, you know what I mean?
- 10:15SPEAKER_01: But it's not what it's about.
- 10:17SPEAKER_03: No, no.
- 10:17SPEAKER_03: I mean, we just did one, not so and I just did one the other last week.
- 10:22SPEAKER_03: I mean, it wasn't till what three in the morning, two, three in the morning, nothing till then.
- 10:27SPEAKER_02: I think you just posted that video not too long ago on YouTube.
- 10:30SPEAKER_02: I watched that today, wasn't it?
- 10:32SPEAKER_02: I think where you guys were doing that, yeah.
- 10:34SPEAKER_02: The estates you finally was like, I think you guys said around three in the morning that you start getting a lot of communication through the states method and stuff.
- 10:41SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 10:43SPEAKER_03: But I mean, again, like nothing from six till two, three in the morning, then the last hour made our night, you know.
- 10:51SPEAKER_00: So everybody was ready to go to bed, and I'm like, look, we're not going to bed yet.
- 10:55SPEAKER_00: We gotta try this at least.
- 10:57SPEAKER_00: We haven't done this yet.
- 10:58SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 10:59SPEAKER_03: And it worked out.
- 11:00SPEAKER_03: I mean, the dice game was fun.
- 11:02SPEAKER_03: Um, I think I'm buying some dice for Madison, so definitely, definitely have to do that.
- 11:10SPEAKER_03: But no, I mean, you're you're teaching your kid, first of all, you're making memories.
- 11:15SPEAKER_04: Absolutely.
- 11:16SPEAKER_03: That's the most important part with family.
- 11:18SPEAKER_03: Um, I had some I had a friend who grandmother just passed away.
- 11:22SPEAKER_03: I'm like, the one thing that never dies is memories.
- 11:25SPEAKER_01: So yeah, that's all you're gonna have left.
- 11:28SPEAKER_01: You know what I mean?
- 11:29SPEAKER_01: And I dude, and I tell you, I see people every day in my career that either standing over their loved one or standing at a casket, and there are so many I wish I should have, I could have, I should have, would have.
- 11:46SPEAKER_01: And you know, I I just I do not want to live my life that way.
- 11:50SPEAKER_01: No, you know what I mean?
- 11:52SPEAKER_01: No, it's what I said it earlier.
- 11:55SPEAKER_01: Life is short.
- 11:56SPEAKER_01: Enjoy the time that you have because that's one thing we can't do.
- 12:00SPEAKER_01: We can't make more time.
- 12:02SPEAKER_01: Time is a valuable thing, and I think that's where a lot of you know, um, you know, even when we do paranormal investigations, it's sitting there and you know, trying to figure out, you know, what happened, why are why are you still here?
- 12:17SPEAKER_01: Is it truly unfinished business?
- 12:19SPEAKER_01: Is it truly, you know, what what's happening?
- 12:21SPEAKER_01: Those types of questions.
- 12:23SPEAKER_01: And Skylar coming from you know a funeral background, because she goes to the funeral home and stuff like that with me.
- 12:29SPEAKER_01: And it's so cool to hear, like even when you take one of her friends, like if we go to Saks Cover Bridge or something like that, listening to them investigate, because it's questions I never would have thought of.
- 12:40SPEAKER_01: What's the first question nine out of ten times that comes out of all of our mouths as soon as we walk?
- 12:44SPEAKER_01: Can you give me your name?
- 12:46SPEAKER_01: Yeah, give me a sign, you know, they're thinking outside the box, hey, what was your favorite toy?
- 12:50SPEAKER_01: What was your favorite color?
- 12:52SPEAKER_01: You know, just just different stuff, and it's just a different perspective from someone so young and you know, quote unquote innocent, you know what I mean?
- 13:01SPEAKER_01: So it's really interesting, and I'm like, yeah, I gotta write that down because I'm gonna use that.
- 13:08SPEAKER_03: No, my daughter, I think she started around 12 with me.
- 13:12SPEAKER_03: And again, like you said, different conversations, like we went to Trans Allegheny, and you know, we're you again asking what's your name, why are you here?
- 13:23SPEAKER_03: And she just sits down.
- 13:24SPEAKER_03: There's one room that had a whole bunch of toys.
- 13:26SPEAKER_03: Hey, you want to play with me?
- 13:28SPEAKER_01: Exactly.
- 13:29SPEAKER_03: You know, so yeah, I mean you don't think about that, and the different mindset, and it goes with kids, you know, women, guys, when you're investigating, all different.
- 13:40SPEAKER_03: Because everybody can relate different to different people, so different perspectives, different points of view.
- 13:47SPEAKER_03: So let's get into it.
- 13:48SPEAKER_03: How'd you get into the paranormal world then?
- 13:51SPEAKER_01: Oh man.
- 13:52SPEAKER_01: Honestly, you know, when I was probably, you know, 16, 17 years old, you know, just going out back, you know, old urban exploring and all, you know, I lived in Maryland.
- 14:04SPEAKER_01: Um, we used to go places like, you know, um the what the heck was it?
- 14:08SPEAKER_01: It was an old state hospital down in Prince George's uh county, um Glendale.
- 14:15SPEAKER_01: And it was an old TV hospital, stuff like that.
- 14:18SPEAKER_01: Found out after the fact it was, you know, private government property.
- 14:21SPEAKER_01: Found that out the hard way, by the way.
- 14:23SPEAKER_01: Um yeah, that was interesting.
- 14:26SPEAKER_01: Um and I'll never forget that first experience.
- 14:29SPEAKER_01: So it was me and three friends, and we got there, and we had to park down by like a utility, um utility like shed bunker type place, and it was very much like uh Pennhurst.
- 14:44SPEAKER_01: So they had like the doctor's residences were actually there on the property.
- 14:49SPEAKER_01: There would be like dorm rooms and things.
- 14:52SPEAKER_01: So we were coming around this corner and we're still out in the like main courtyard, and we're walking up toward the hospital, and all of a sudden we just see two figures, and they're walking toward us, and I'm like, oh we didn't have flashlights on or anything like that.
- 15:06SPEAKER_01: I'm like, crap, you know, is this security?
- 15:08SPEAKER_01: What is this?
- 15:09SPEAKER_01: Well, all of a sudden, these two figures just dart into one of the the residences.
- 15:16SPEAKER_01: So I'm like, all right, somebody's messed up, let's let's go check it out.
- 15:19SPEAKER_01: So it's about 20 feet.
- 15:21SPEAKER_01: We get up there, and or about 20 yards, we get up there, and there's only one main entrance because they cinder blocked the the windows and things like that up because people were breaking them and things.
- 15:35SPEAKER_01: So there's only one way in, one way out.
- 15:37SPEAKER_01: Nobody was in this place, and it was just like, you know, your hair standing up on the back of your neck and things like that.
- 15:45SPEAKER_01: We got into the hospital, and you know, you get that weird feeling, like, man, something's just not right.
- 15:52SPEAKER_01: And you could hear like footsteps above you, like things shuffling, and I'm just like, yeah, we gotta get let's just get out of here.
- 15:59SPEAKER_01: So we were there for like 20 minutes, but that was something that always stuck with me.
- 16:04SPEAKER_01: And then we started, you know, getting involved in back when they used to have like online forums for like paranormal investigations and going out on like meeting groups and going out and investigating places, and you know, it just went from there.
- 16:18SPEAKER_01: And then of course, you know, watching, you know, like Jason, Grant, all those guys, you know, really paved the way for you know us to be able to go out and start doing things more.
- 16:31SPEAKER_01: And then, you know, as Skylar got older, you know, introducing her to, you know, at the time it was destination fear.
- 16:38SPEAKER_01: And then next thing you know, it's she was like, uh it was like in March one year, about two years ago.
- 16:43SPEAKER_01: She was like, Hey, can we go do that?
- 16:46SPEAKER_01: I'm like, what do you mean?
- 16:47SPEAKER_01: She's like, can we go ghost hunting?
- 16:49SPEAKER_01: I'm like, well, I'm sure I can find something.
- 16:52SPEAKER_01: We live, you know, 20 minutes from Gettysburg.
- 16:54SPEAKER_01: And then we found like some you know organizations out there that you can go that they own properties and do investigations and all, and then the rest is history.
- 17:02SPEAKER_01: Just started going to um paracons, events, and things like that.
- 17:06SPEAKER_01: And then finally, she's like, you know, I I want to start doing this.
- 17:09SPEAKER_01: I said, if that's what you want to do, I'll do it with you.
- 17:13SPEAKER_01: Let's go.
- 17:14SPEAKER_01: And here we are.
- 17:15SPEAKER_03: Oh, that's cool.
- 17:16SPEAKER_03: I mean, it's so hard, like with family just trying to find someone, something to do, because our kids are what do they do now?
- 17:24SPEAKER_03: They just go on their phones.
- 17:25SPEAKER_03: I mean, that's I get it.
- 17:27SPEAKER_01: Yeah, you know, she's nine going on 30, don't get me wrong, but yeah, it's one of those situations to where I hope that you know this will always be our thing.
- 17:36SPEAKER_01: But she could wake up tomorrow and be like, Dad, don't even like drop me off a block away from school.
- 17:40SPEAKER_01: I don't want my friends to see me with you, you know what I mean?
- 17:42SPEAKER_01: So it's just like enjoy what I have now and then see where it takes us.
- 17:46SPEAKER_03: Yeah, yeah, enjoy it.
- 17:48SPEAKER_03: So Donna's on, anime's on.
- 17:51SPEAKER_03: I have to have anime on sometime.
- 17:53SPEAKER_03: I gotta hear her stories.
- 17:55SPEAKER_03: But uh if anybody has any questions for the mortician or us, you know, let have it.
- 18:01SPEAKER_03: Try not to do it an hour in like we usually do.
- 18:04SPEAKER_03: So questions early.
- 18:06SPEAKER_03: No, I said my daughter does this with me.
- 18:09SPEAKER_03: It's I think a lot of people ask why so young, and I said it's not about the age, it's about the maturity level of the kid.
- 18:16SPEAKER_03: Yes, so it's age is just a number.
- 18:20SPEAKER_03: Um, I've seen 16-year-old boys, which we know they're terrible because I had a 16-year-old boy, like the maturity level's not there, they're gonna be running around doing stupid stuff.
- 18:31SPEAKER_03: But my daughter's pretty, pretty mature, and she does a very good job.
- 18:36SPEAKER_03: And she's one of the few I do trust in my group that do SS method.
- 18:41SPEAKER_03: I'm like, she's not gonna put the headphones on and say murder, death, kill every five seconds.
- 18:46SPEAKER_03: So she's only gonna give what she hears.
- 18:49SPEAKER_01: So we had um, it's funny you talk about like 16-year-old boys.
- 18:54SPEAKER_01: So we were down at the uh Gettysburg Battlefield Bash back in July, and we ended up meeting up with um Stephanie Pitts from Haunted Havens, out of uh like I think she's out of like Ohio or the Midwest somewhere.
- 19:09SPEAKER_01: And she had all of her, she had her daughters, she has three daughters.
- 19:12SPEAKER_01: So Skylar met them and we were at Sachs Bridge, and I mean the bridge was packed.
- 19:18SPEAKER_01: It was the last weekend of July.
- 19:20SPEAKER_01: There was like so many people there, and all of a sudden the bridge just like cleared out, and it was us, and there was this like this group of like five teenage guys sitting at the end of the bridge.
- 19:29SPEAKER_01: So, you know, now my dad mode, my spidey sensors are kicking on, you know.
- 19:34SPEAKER_01: I'm just like, you know, watching my six and stuff, and then all of a sudden one of them gets up and start walking toward us, and you know, it's it's a group of you know young, young girls.
- 19:43SPEAKER_01: And I'm like, ah, great, here we go.
- 19:45SPEAKER_01: And the guy comes over and goes, Hey, um can we come over and hang out with you guys?
- 19:51SPEAKER_01: Like, we think it's cool what you're doing.
- 19:53SPEAKER_01: So now you've got you know a seven, an eight, and a nine-year-old girl teaching these like 16 to 18-year-old guys like how to use dousing rods and you know how to use the equipment.
- 20:03SPEAKER_01: It was the most epic thing I'd ever seen in my life.
- 20:06SPEAKER_01: It was freaking awesome, man.
- 20:09SPEAKER_03: We have one question here, well, maybe two.
- 20:12SPEAKER_03: Uh one question.
- 20:14SPEAKER_03: Have you ever seen anything creepy while you're working late at night?
- 20:19SPEAKER_01: So uh I would assume you're asking like about at the funeral home or something like that.
- 20:24SPEAKER_01: And my train of thought has always been that nothing traumatic happened to the person at the funeral home.
- 20:35SPEAKER_01: You know, they passed away elsewhere or somewhere else.
- 20:38SPEAKER_01: Um, I've never had anything where I felt uncomfortable or uneasy, um, anything like that.
- 20:44SPEAKER_01: No.
- 20:45SPEAKER_01: Um, you know, I'm I think that that, you know, why would you want to come hang out with me?
- 20:50SPEAKER_01: You know what I mean?
- 20:50SPEAKER_01: You probably want to be back with your family or even for some reason back at the spot where something may have occurred where you may have passed away at.
- 20:59SPEAKER_01: Um now for me, when I pass, you better believe I'm gonna be watching that funeral director, making sure they're doing what they're supposed to be doing.
- 21:05SPEAKER_01: Bottom the I's, crossing the T's, watching their P's and Q's.
- 21:08SPEAKER_01: But no, nothing, nothing crazy, nothing like that at the funeral home.
- 21:13SPEAKER_03: I mean, that's what I'm a big, I mean, you can say it too, like graveyards.
- 21:18SPEAKER_03: You know, I'm not a huge believer in graveyards being haunted.
- 21:22SPEAKER_01: Yeah, why are they gonna hang out there?
- 21:25SPEAKER_03: I believe your energy passes when you die.
- 21:28SPEAKER_03: So, why would funeral homes or graveyards be haunted?
- 21:32SPEAKER_03: But could it possibly they come and say thank you to you for what you did also?
- 21:40SPEAKER_01: It I mean, that that could be a possibility, you know.
- 21:43SPEAKER_01: I think that there are times where people are are tied to locations.
- 21:47SPEAKER_01: So if you have like a very like our funeral home um has been in its location that I'm at now for 95 years, you know, do I think that maybe the old, the original owner?
- 22:00SPEAKER_01: May have a tie there.
- 22:02SPEAKER_01: Absolutely.
- 22:02SPEAKER_01: Because you got to realize funeral homes were just that.
- 22:06SPEAKER_01: You know, that's where the term funeral parlor comes from, because the family would live upstairs and they would lay out the decedent in their front parlor of their home.
- 22:17SPEAKER_01: So that's where you get the word funeral parlor.
- 22:19SPEAKER_01: And they constantly live there.
- 22:21SPEAKER_01: So, you know, that was their life.
- 22:23SPEAKER_01: That was that was everything.
- 22:24SPEAKER_01: And even for us, just because I'm not there and I'm able to come home now, you know, I'm I'm always on call.
- 22:34SPEAKER_01: You know what I mean?
- 22:35SPEAKER_01: So we're we're not physically tied to the building, but back then they were.
- 22:41SPEAKER_01: Those guys couldn't even go on vacations unless they would have somebody come in and cover their funeral homes.
- 22:46SPEAKER_01: Because they didn't back in the day, you know, they didn't have beepers, they didn't have cell phones, they had, you know, um, you know, party lines, and somebody needed to be able to be there to be uh, you know, answering the phone.
- 22:59SPEAKER_02: Yeah, for for our small town and anything where Broadrow's located, so like directly behind almost diangle from Broadrow's funeral location, is the last remaining standing funeral home that's actually been in the town of Flitzley the longest, is uh the McIntyre funeral home and everything.
- 23:16SPEAKER_02: And the owners, the current owners, still live upstairs.
- 23:20SPEAKER_02: Yep.
- 23:21SPEAKER_02: And everything.
- 23:22SPEAKER_01: And I mean, that's how a lot of people are.
- 23:24SPEAKER_01: The small town funeral homes are still like that, especially if they're not corporately owned.
- 23:29SPEAKER_01: There are giant corporations that come in and buy a funeral home and just buy the name, but then the family does not really, you know, they're not operating it, they're not owning it.
- 23:39SPEAKER_01: Some family may stay on um uh as an employee and for face value, but the all the ownership and the uh decisions are being made, you know, somewhere in another state by somewhere else that doesn't even know you know the neighbors in the community.
- 23:56SPEAKER_01: So it's definitely it's it's a different it's a different beast now when it comes to funeral service, but it's definitely you know an amazing profession.
- 24:06SPEAKER_01: You know, definitely.
- 24:08SPEAKER_01: It it there's a lot of sacrifice, there's a lot of you know, there's a lot of give and take.
- 24:13SPEAKER_01: You know, before I went in and you know went went to mortuary school, it was a conversation I had with my wife, and I explained to her, I was like, you know, if we do this, this is gonna be very demanding.
- 24:25SPEAKER_01: And it's pretty much, you know, there's gonna be times where we have to stop whatever we're doing.
- 24:31SPEAKER_01: I gotta go.
- 24:32SPEAKER_01: You know, that there's many of directors, there's colleagues of mine, if they go out somewhere, they drive separate of their wife or you know, their husband in case they get a call, they've got to leave.
- 24:43SPEAKER_01: Birthday parties, there's been many times on Christmas morning because that's whatever, but that doesn't stop just because it's you know Christmas morning or you know, it's after 5 p.m.
- 24:55SPEAKER_01: So it's really you're you're all in or you're not.
- 24:59SPEAKER_03: Well, just not you, your family.
- 25:01SPEAKER_01: I mean, exactly.
- 25:02SPEAKER_01: They they have that they may not be being compensated as an employee, but they're they're part of the business.
- 25:10SPEAKER_03: I'm not sure you've been kind of quiet over there.
- 25:13SPEAKER_03: Any questions?
- 25:14SPEAKER_00: Actually, I do.
- 25:16SPEAKER_00: We were so I run the local VFW.
- 25:21SPEAKER_00: We obviously have our flags and have staff for Dick Cheney.
- 25:26SPEAKER_00: And somebody asked me yesterday, like, when are they having his funeral?
- 25:29SPEAKER_00: And I didn't really know, so I looked it up.
- 25:32SPEAKER_00: And it says November 20th.
- 25:34SPEAKER_00: And he died, I believe, on the third.
- 25:37SPEAKER_00: Uh-huh.
- 25:38SPEAKER_00: That's 17 days.
- 25:40SPEAKER_00: Now, I guess they could be cremating him and not showing a body.
- 25:44SPEAKER_00: I don't know what they're doing with him.
- 25:46SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 25:47SPEAKER_00: How long can you keep a body presentable?
- 25:54SPEAKER_01: So there are many, many different ways to answer the question.
- 25:59SPEAKER_01: Um, you know, if you look at was it uh Lenin out in Russia, he's re-embalmed every I would either every year or every X amount of years, they actually re-embalm him to preserve his body.
- 26:15SPEAKER_01: So, you know, it's when you embalm someone, because I'm assuming it's if it's not going to be a memorial service where he's been cremated and just the cremated remains are going to be present, they're there, he's gonna be embalmed, and they're gonna keep a very close eye on him to make sure that if any part needs to be retreated, um, if anything needs to be topically treated, things like that, so he remains presentable.
- 26:41SPEAKER_01: Once you embalm someone, you can keep someone for you know a couple couple weeks.
- 26:49SPEAKER_01: It all depends on the cause of death, you know, and the skill of the embalmer.
- 26:55SPEAKER_01: Because I've seen some people that can embalm great, and I've seen some people that I'm like, please never touch instruments again.
- 27:02SPEAKER_01: Um please just do us a favor and just just go make arrangements, do not come back in this room.
- 27:08SPEAKER_01: So, you know, for for high profile funerals like that, it's not uncommon for things to be extensively prolonged for dignitaries, things like if you look at the history of you guys ever like looked at the history of Abraham Lincoln's funeral.
- 27:27SPEAKER_01: Uh a little bit, yeah.
- 27:28SPEAKER_01: So Lincoln was taken on the train multiple places, multiple states, and viewed.
- 27:36SPEAKER_01: Now, back then they were embalming with arsenic, which was extremely, extremely dangerous, but it got the job done, you know, because it when Abraham Lincoln and his wife uh Mary, after they lost their uh son, they would actually go to the grave, and the um the sexton, the caretaker of the cemetery, would open the grave and they would sit in the rocking chair in the tomb and rock their son.
- 28:05SPEAKER_01: And he was embalmed so thoroughly that he was still in good condition for them to be able to do that over an extended period of time.
- 28:11SPEAKER_01: Wow.
- 28:12SPEAKER_02: I didn't know that part.
- 28:13SPEAKER_02: I I seen um it was like this one TV show documentary part and everything where uh Lincoln and a uh president like a couple years before him and everything done um seances and that and stuff there at the White House.
- 28:27SPEAKER_01: Trying to talk to his son, yeah.
- 28:29SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 28:30SPEAKER_01: Um the Mary was big into belief in into the afterlife and paranormal and stuff like that.
- 28:36SPEAKER_01: Same thing with um who was uh uh Harry Houdini's wife.
- 28:42SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 28:43SPEAKER_01: That that was huge with them trying to, and you know, that was one thing that he had told uh Bess is they had a a key word that this is how you won't know it is me.
- 28:54SPEAKER_01: I will give this word.
- 28:55SPEAKER_01: And I don't believe she ever received that word through any seances.
- 29:00SPEAKER_02: No, uh, they didn't ever think and um I mean I know people's uh has mixed feelings on like those adventures, but they done it like uh close to the anniversary and everything there at the Winchester's house and everything, and he had supposedly found and found his like long relative of his lineage and everything.
- 29:21SPEAKER_02: Uh even brought him in and everything.
- 29:23SPEAKER_02: It's I mean, some of the evidence that they captured in their thing there was actually pretty interesting and kind of makes you wonder if they might have maybe talked to someone that knew Houdini there or something.
- 29:37SPEAKER_02: Because uh apparently, like they were sitting there saying, I guess Houdini went there numerous times and everything practicing that stuff with him and his wife and stuff.
- 29:46SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 29:47SPEAKER_03: Talking about like cremation and stuff.
- 29:49SPEAKER_01: Do you see uh more of a trend now into cremation compared to well statistically, cremation is you know, again, it's gonna rank it's gonna be your demographic area, you know.
- 30:04SPEAKER_01: The more south you go, the more traditional you're gonna maintain with traditional burials and even out midwest.
- 30:12SPEAKER_01: But you know, coast wise, you know, cremation is well over 80%.
- 30:18SPEAKER_04: Okay.
- 30:18SPEAKER_01: 80%.
- 30:19SPEAKER_01: And really what it boils down to, it comes down to you know, uh costs, unfortunately.
- 30:25SPEAKER_01: And you know, a lot of people don't realize just because you choose cremation doesn't mean you can't have a viewing and a visitation um for your family for them to be able to I I'm a huge believer, and you know, I think even for us in the paranormal field, uh seeing is believing, correct?
- 30:46SPEAKER_04: Yeah, 100%.
- 30:47SPEAKER_01: We have to see it to believe it.
- 30:51SPEAKER_01: So I was always taught by a jump a gentleman by the name of Vernie Fountain.
- 30:56SPEAKER_01: He's an awesome restorative artist.
- 30:58SPEAKER_01: Um, he runs a school to teach restorative art out in Springfield, Missouri.
- 31:03SPEAKER_01: And one of his things he teaches us is that from a baby, you're taught two things always to say hello, and the second is always to say goodbye.
- 31:14SPEAKER_01: If you don't say goodbye, you feel like something's missing.
- 31:17SPEAKER_01: You know, you feel you feel you know, you just leave something really quick or something like that, and you leave mom and dad's house or something.
- 31:22SPEAKER_01: Don't you feel a little off?
- 31:23SPEAKER_01: Like, man, I didn't, I forgot to tell dad goodbye or something like that.
- 31:26SPEAKER_01: You just don't feel right.
- 31:27SPEAKER_01: And when someone passes away, having that opportunity to go in and see that person, even if it's for a brief identification, not a full-blown out viewing or something like that, that aids in the beginning of the grief process because it's a multi-step process.
- 31:47SPEAKER_01: And I I personally believe, and I have seen it, that where people forego that portion have what they call complicated grief because you're your your mind is saying, Well, I never saw that person dead, for lack of better words, to process that.
- 32:09SPEAKER_01: And I mean, there is a ton of psychology behind it, but cremation is just it's taking off.
- 32:16SPEAKER_01: Most people don't have life insurance anymore to be able to pay for funerals because they find it is too much of an expense and they don't feel that it's worth it.
- 32:25SPEAKER_01: A lot of people don't realize that you can prepay your funeral and make payments on that.
- 32:30SPEAKER_01: It's not something you have to go in and drop, you know, six thousand or twelve thousand dollars on.
- 32:36SPEAKER_01: You can go down and put the thousand dollars in and then make monthly payments on it until it's paid up, and then you don't have to worry about passing that on to your kids or your wife or whomever you might be leaving that burden to.
- 32:49SPEAKER_01: Because, and then a lot of people want to say, Oh, I don't want to have a funeral, put me in a chalk full of nut coffee can, or you know, just take me out and bury me in the backyard.
- 32:58SPEAKER_01: And people don't realize the funeral is not for you, it's for your family, it's for those people.
- 33:05SPEAKER_01: So there, I mean, we can go down that rabbit hole, you know.
- 33:08SPEAKER_01: That's a whole different different perspective, though.
- 33:12SPEAKER_03: No, you're right.
- 33:13SPEAKER_03: It's about the family.
- 33:14SPEAKER_03: It's because you know, I've been asked, you know, getting older, what do you want?
- 33:18SPEAKER_03: I'm like, really don't care, to be honest.
- 33:22SPEAKER_03: Whatever you want, because it's it's about you grieving, not me.
- 33:25SPEAKER_03: I'm gone.
- 33:26SPEAKER_03: I mean, I believe being in the paranormal world, I believe our energy leaves when we die.
- 33:32SPEAKER_03: So what you do with me after, I really don't care.
- 33:37SPEAKER_01: I mean, I think that was one of the biggest things for me when you know that it really got me into the funeral industry.
- 33:43SPEAKER_01: I didn't go into the funeral industry right away.
- 33:46SPEAKER_01: Um, you know, but I lost my grandmother, who was an integral part of my my life.
- 33:52SPEAKER_01: My grandmother was like everything to me, and I was probably I was either 10 or 11.
- 34:01SPEAKER_01: I may have been younger, and I'll never forget when she passed away um going to the hospital, and our family clergy was there.
- 34:12SPEAKER_01: And he said, Chris, I want you to know something.
- 34:15SPEAKER_01: When you go in and see your grandmother, your grandmother's no longer there, you know, her spirit is gone.
- 34:22SPEAKER_01: That is just a shell.
- 34:24SPEAKER_01: And a lot of people ask me, Well, how can you do your job?
- 34:27SPEAKER_01: How can you do what you do, you know, when it comes to embalming and stuff like that?
- 34:31SPEAKER_01: And I mean, that that really played an integral role to me because I'm not, you know, the the person, the spirit is gone, the soul is gone.
- 34:40SPEAKER_01: So I'm doing what I can to make that person presentable for you to be able to have that one last chance to be able to say goodbye.
- 34:46SPEAKER_03: It's a lot to think about.
- 34:48SPEAKER_03: It got deep for a second.
- 34:52SPEAKER_01: I never took three hosts quiet, man.
- 34:56SPEAKER_00: Big uh I I'm I'm against saying goodbye all the time.
- 35:00SPEAKER_00: Um if I if because to me, goodbye is final.
- 35:05SPEAKER_00: So, you know, if if we're hanging out and you're leaving or I'm leaving, hey, I'll see you later.
- 35:10SPEAKER_01: See you soon.
- 35:11SPEAKER_00: Um or see you soon, or you know, to to me, goodbye is is something that's very, very final, and I don't know where I came up with this in my life, but I just even if I'm on the phone, I don't say goodbye, it's see ya.
- 35:26SPEAKER_00: Because it it does, it sounds like it's very formal that that's the end.
- 35:32SPEAKER_00: And and you know, as a as a as a funeral, a funeral is truly a goodbye.
- 35:39SPEAKER_00: And so I don't know if I haven't been to a ton of funerals in my life more in the last few years than I have ever.
- 35:45SPEAKER_00: But to me, that's that's the the funeral is is the final goodbye.
- 35:50SPEAKER_00: So I just I avoid goodbye at all at all costs.
- 35:53SPEAKER_01: I I don't know where I pick that up, but it's just I mean it makes sense though, because you know, if you're if you're so used to saying goodbye and that being the finality of it all, you know what I mean.
- 36:03SPEAKER_01: So it's you know, even I've seen, you know, even clergy at the end of the service explain to people that you know, you know, depending on your belief and things like that, that if you know you don't believe X, Y, Z, you know, this is goodbye.
- 36:16SPEAKER_01: But if you do have a belief in faith or whatever, that it is see you again soon.
- 36:21SPEAKER_01: So it's really, you know, I've I've seen that on both sides, both spectrums.
- 36:26SPEAKER_03: Yeah, it's kind of like till next time kind of thing.
- 36:30SPEAKER_03: Uh Deborah asks, so where do you think the soul actually goes?
- 36:34SPEAKER_03: And do you think it's energy?
- 36:36SPEAKER_01: That's a deep question.
- 36:38SPEAKER_01: That's a deep question.
- 36:40SPEAKER_01: That might be beyond the mortician scope, but yeah, I I believe we are energy, and we see that with the with the equipment we use when we investigate.
- 36:47SPEAKER_01: What what is one common thread of all of our equipment detect?
- 36:51SPEAKER_01: Energy.
- 36:52SPEAKER_04: Energy.
- 36:53SPEAKER_01: You know, so you know, I believe that we are, you know, our soul or whatever, you know, is energy, and it whether it chooses to move on to a greater place or whether it feels that it needs to stay here, you know, I believe that there is an energetic field to our being and things like that for sure.
- 37:16SPEAKER_02: I think there's been actually some case uh case studies and done and everything.
- 37:20SPEAKER_02: Like we do put off a like a EMF field on our own.
- 37:24SPEAKER_02: We're we are on like a certain level and stuff producing energy and everything.
- 37:29SPEAKER_02: I mean, if like being in the first responder background and everything, I mean going, I mean, there's definitely energy in us, and I mean the heart's its own energy component itself and everything firing on its own stuff.
- 37:41SPEAKER_02: Um, because if our brain controlled it or we had actual control over it, we would dunk kill ourselves.
- 37:47SPEAKER_01: Um but um they say we only use a certain percentage of actual.
- 37:51SPEAKER_02: Oh, yeah, 100%.
- 37:53SPEAKER_02: Um, I mean, now like I believe that when we do our final breath and everything, that's that's when our soul leaves the stuff uh or the energy and everything, and where it goes and everything is basically going kind of beyond anyone's belief and everything.
- 38:11SPEAKER_02: Like uh most of our team members and everything were Christians and everything.
- 38:14SPEAKER_02: Um so we believe that we go to heaven and everything, but also here lately, like me and Justin's been having talks and everything.
- 38:23SPEAKER_02: It's like because we're trying to do this paranormal field and more of a Christianity background and stuff, and it's like the Bible never really says where you kind of go and everything.
- 38:36SPEAKER_02: It mentions like when Jesus died on the cross and stuff, he went down and those believers before him and everything, he went and brought brought them out of hell and stuff.
- 38:45SPEAKER_02: And after that, and it it says here, if you'd like to get in the book of Revelation, our bodies come out of the ground and everything, and then our spirits kind of come out of this somewhat of the sky and everything.
- 38:55SPEAKER_02: Is that truly us coming out of heaven?
- 38:57SPEAKER_02: Or are we kind of in this limbo till Christ has uh comes back and stuff?
- 39:04SPEAKER_02: And it's just, I mean, it's it's so hard to tell and everything because it's like, okay, if this this is the case, if we're looking at Christianity's standpoint and everything, doing this investigations, are these actually true spirits that we're truly commun communicating with and everything, or like uh kind of find out like uh the creator of the spirit box and stuff, he believed when he created that advice, it was to talk to ET and stuff.
- 39:29SPEAKER_02: It wasn't for spirits.
- 39:31SPEAKER_01: Well, you know, if you if you I mean if if we go down that road, okay.
- 39:35SPEAKER_01: So if you think about 2 Corinthians, uh they say to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord, you know what I mean?
- 39:42SPEAKER_01: I come from a very, very big Christian religious background.
- 39:47SPEAKER_01: So my question is this this could that we're gonna go down a road here, but think about it.
- 39:56SPEAKER_01: So you pass away, and technically we're not supposed to to go to heaven until the rapture and the second coming of Christ, correct?
- 40:03SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 40:04SPEAKER_01: So when you pass away, are you just are you just sleeping and that energy is dormant until the the second coming of Christ, and then you're raptured with the church and the dead will rise and things like that.
- 40:19SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 40:19SPEAKER_01: Or is it as soon as you pass away, because you're technically absent from the body at that point, you're then taken to heaven or whatever your belief would be.
- 40:30SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 40:31SPEAKER_01: You know, I mean it can go deep.
- 40:34SPEAKER_01: You can you oh yeah, digging into philop philosoph conversations and things like that in regards to the paranormal aspect, because you know, if Revelation says the dead and Christ will rise first, correct?
- 40:47SPEAKER_02: Yep, when the first trumpet sounds.
- 40:49SPEAKER_01: So at that point, then then the dead now are technically not there.
- 40:54SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 40:55SPEAKER_01: So where are they?
- 40:59SPEAKER_02: Don't know.
- 41:00SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 41:01SPEAKER_02: Uh, because I mean I mean that that was a really good question, and everything.
- 41:05SPEAKER_02: And it's just like it kind of uh because uh this past couple weeks and everything.
- 41:08SPEAKER_01: I mean, just you didn't think we were going down this with a funeral director.
- 41:14SPEAKER_00: There's a lot of open interpretation in it, and the biggest thing is all five of us could read something, and we could all get something different from it.
- 41:23SPEAKER_00: 100% what we need, right?
- 41:25SPEAKER_00: It's what we need, it's not it may not be the right thing or the wrong thing, it's just what is aimed at us at that moment, and you could go back and read it two days later and it'll mean something totally different to you.
- 41:36SPEAKER_01: And then how many times have we used it to what to be weaponized?
- 41:40SPEAKER_01: Yes, you know what I mean.
- 41:44SPEAKER_03: So I'm just gonna say this are there different dimensions?
- 41:50SPEAKER_03: I only said that.
- 41:51SPEAKER_03: I just want to see if the cat ball goes off, to be honest with you.
- 41:56SPEAKER_02: Because yeah, I mean, last time it was, yeah.
- 42:00SPEAKER_02: Negative energy, positive energy.
- 42:04SPEAKER_01: Okay, so aka the soul.
- 42:05SPEAKER_01: If we're gonna call the energy energy sticks around or comes and goes, because something appears negative, something appears positive, so that's your point of view.
- 42:17SPEAKER_01: You know, so are we talking about like maybe like how negative energy reacts versus a positive type of interaction?
- 42:26SPEAKER_02: I'm having trouble following yeah, like I think I think it's more or less in everything, uh, like why why are we seeing positive energy and negative energy and everything?
- 42:38SPEAKER_02: I think some of that uh would have to kind of almost deal with how that person was living and everything.
- 42:46SPEAKER_02: Who who who who were they when they was alive and stuff?
- 42:48SPEAKER_01: I mean, yeah, I definitely agree.
- 42:50SPEAKER_01: I think if you you get a grumpy old man that's just a grumpy old man, and you know, especially like I know me, if you come run across my grass, I'm gonna give you screaming, I'd you get off my lawn.
- 43:00SPEAKER_01: So the same thing, you know.
- 43:02SPEAKER_01: I pass away in my house, and people are out there messing around on my lawn, I'm gonna be pissed off and tell them to get off my lawn.
- 43:08SPEAKER_01: Um, you know, I think you get, you know, you're you're not just gonna when you pass away, you're just not gonna change.
- 43:15SPEAKER_01: And oh, I'm just gonna be happy to go live.
- 43:17SPEAKER_01: You know, that is your that is your fiber where you're being.
- 43:20SPEAKER_01: That's what you're made up of.
- 43:22SPEAKER_01: That's not gonna change even when you pass away.
- 43:25SPEAKER_01: You know, at least at least that's my point of view, my perspective of it.
- 43:28SPEAKER_00: 100%.
- 43:30SPEAKER_00: Just because you you've died and and and you no longer have a body, your energy is still you a hundred percent.
- 43:37SPEAKER_00: And if you were a positive person or you were a negative person, I I I don't I don't see that changing just because you've moved out of your body.
- 43:48SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and then you know it goes back to like people, you know, they'll always say, Oh, that person has a sweet soul or uh a calm spirit a sweet spirit, things like that.
- 43:57SPEAKER_01: So whether you want to use the term your spirit, whether you want to use the term your energy, you know, interchangeable.
- 44:03SPEAKER_01: I I think it's it's the same type of uh you know same type of meaning there.
- 44:07SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 44:08SPEAKER_03: Um everybody thinks that everything's negative.
- 44:12SPEAKER_03: What do you think is like what percentage of positive paranormal experiences have you had compared to negative?
- 44:19SPEAKER_03: Because I believe most of our experiences are positive.
- 44:23SPEAKER_04: It's just spirits that it's just so funny to bring that up.
- 44:27SPEAKER_03: Yeah, because you can't see them I mean if you're walking down a dark hallway and someone taps you you're gonna be scared right behind you.
- 44:37SPEAKER_03: It doesn't mean they're negative.
- 44:38SPEAKER_01: Well I think there's and here's where we talk about you know the difference of you know fear being you know taken off guard versus something nefarious or and I I refuse to play into the D-word but something evil you know what I mean you're you're gonna know right off the bat whether you're just getting activity or whether or not you're dealing with something not nice.
- 45:09SPEAKER_01: You know I don't I don't believe I think because if it's nefarious or if it's something dark they're they're gonna they're gonna they're gonna try it's gonna be much more darker in their um activity and their you know presentation to you versus you know your cat ball or your REM pod or whatever piece of equipment you're using going off.
- 45:32SPEAKER_01: Most of the time anything a lot of the the stuff where I've encountered something negative has been through e VP work.
- 45:40SPEAKER_01: Because they're literally screaming at you to get the H E L L out you know what I mean versus trying to give you a message from my perspective and what I've dealt with through different investigations.
- 45:52SPEAKER_01: And it was funny that you mentioned that you bring this up like Friday night we went and um that hopefully by the end of next week I'll have the video out but we did the Jenny Wade house we we did a private there and um we collabed with a Black Lantern Paranormal out of Gettysburg and normally anytime I have done Jenny Wade it has been a very calm welcoming just peaceful you know interaction and we've got some something completely different there and we were all really taken back and surprised by it so I'm I'm really looking forward this week into digging into that evidence and going through the video and all that stuff because I mean at one point it was like it came across the spirit box that so we were in the the parlor room uh where the bedroom was where they brought the bed downstairs after her sister had given birth and then the kitchen where Jenny was shot is right behind that room.
- 46:48SPEAKER_01: So we're sitting in the bedroom on the floor and we've got through the the spirit box that whatever it was could not come into the room where we were and it said holy holy holy three times so that was very different than what we normally get at the Jenny Wade house.
- 47:03SPEAKER_01: And we're like well what do you mean and come to find out one of the um people that were with us uh his name's Nick from Black Lanter Paranormal had a uh piece of wood that was blessed by um uh uh Father Bob from Nesper and for him to carry and keep with him so Nick said let me take I'm gonna take this and put this out in the kitchen as soon as he took those keys and I cannot explain it and put it in the kitchen the activity inside that parlor was like somebody turned the light switch on to you know vacancy and it went it just went crazy the the EVPs we were getting the stuff off the the spirit box the interaction on equipment and we just can't figure out why that that house is just like a a magnet for supernatural in that commun in in Gettysburg it's insane do you think because people are there asking questions well I honestly believe that whatever is there because think about it if you're in the and the and the and somebody brought this and it was a great point the spirits that are in the battlefield you can't go there and investigate in in the evening it's very frowned upon looked down on to go take equipment out so if if those spirits see wow there's all these people going there to try and talk to people talk to me I'm going there so the question is do can they see that and they want to go because we've had it to where one the spirit box like we were there's one um I wish I could play it for you guys and be but probably not going to hear it through the audio I say talk one at a time please and you could hear multiple multiple people trying to talk trying to get messages across so I think it's because they bring investig they do investigations they open it to bring people in there so people like I want to go talk I I I want to get my message across they're so eager to try to be able to express themselves
