Latest / Learnings and Missteps by Depth Builder / Part 2 of Fearless Compassion Breaking Down Borders with Maxine Gomez
Transcript
- 0:00I always invoked those values into whatever I did, which is we are ladies and gentlemen, serving ladies and gentlemen.
- 0:07So even in construction, which I now teach it's what I teach in the class that we are, we do our jobs with dignity and we are called to serve and that there is pride in the work that we do because we are, if you do it right, then you're actually helping people.
- 0:23Oh, yeah, that is miss Maxine.
- 0:26And welcome back to part two.
- 0:28Of this learning and missteps podcast conversation.
- 0:32You know, I don't think I told you on part one that Maxine's a mold remediation expert.
- 0:38On author.
- 0:39And a performance coach.
- 0:41So she brings a ton of experience and a ton of value with her.
- 0:45And I think that's why she didn't hesitate to ask me the question.
- 0:50That we teased you with in part one.
- 0:53And so here a part two.
- 0:55I go ahead and answer the question.
- 0:57which leads Maxine.
- 0:58And I took a conversation around our thoughts on designing our best life.
- 1:04And progressing from crawling to flying, which sounds a little wacko, and I'd love to hear your thoughts on it.
- 1:12My guess is some of y'all L and M family members are already flying.
- 1:16And if you're not, you're doing the crawling, you're doing the walking, you're doing the running and getting ready to fly.
- 1:22But first, I want to give a shout out to my brother, David Garcia.
- 1:26I connected with David.
- 1:28On through the Omni verse on the tick tock.
- 1:31And David took the time out to drop me this.
- 1:34David, you may not know it.
- 1:35I don't know if I told you, but your message was a very reassuring.
- 1:40Uh, motivating message.
- 1:42And of course I got a shirt with the L and M family members.
- 1:45So here we go.
- 1:46David says, bro, your new journey is like helping people become better at internal PR.
- 1:54Except instead of helping people spend BS into gold, you're actually helping them see through their own BS at their gold.
- 2:04Because there are so many people who have so many valuable natural resources they can draw from due to their experience.
- 2:12But nobody taught us how the hell to mine, our own minds.
- 2:16We do it for others all the time, because we see the value in their dreams.
- 2:21And David brother appreciate you.
- 2:24I wanted to share your message with L and M family member because.
- 2:29You've nailed it, man.
- 2:30Everybody's got value in their own minds, so get out there, put some sweat in and celebrate the value that you bring.
- 2:37And here we go to miss Maxine.
- 2:45But I wanted to ask you a quick question.
- 2:47Yes.
- 2:48What was that switch for you?
- 2:50Or when you start to notice it, what do you tell yourself to get out of it when you, right?
- 2:55Cause you said you created that prison.
- 2:58Oh yeah.
- 2:59What did you do to break out of it?
- 3:00Or when you start noticing it, how do you knock yourself out of it?
- 3:03Oh that's a beautiful question.
- 3:05Thank you for that question.
- 3:06I was completely enthralled in my addiction and I was in rehab.
- 3:12I was in inpatient rehab the last time.
- 3:16I'm working to make it the last time.
- 3:19And then I had a, what's that?
- 3:21I'm gonna hold you to it.
- 3:22Yes, ma'am.
- 3:23Please do.
- 3:23Please do.
- 3:24Because I, I wrote a book on it and I need to not go back to that self destructive behavior.
- 3:30Otherwise, the book loses all its value.
- 3:33So now thank you for also jumping on board and helping me stay true.
- 3:39So here was the thing that kicked me straight.
- 3:44There was a counselor there and, I had been through different rehab, different programs, all state mandated, meaning I got arrested a bunch of times.
- 3:54So I knew how to play the game to get my card checked so that I could get out.
- 4:00And that was my plan.
- 4:01I'm going to go in there, say what I need to say, behave the way I need to behave and get in and get out and not go to prison.
- 4:07That's the goal.
- 4:09One of the counselors one day pulled me aside.
- 4:12He says, Hey, Jess.
- 4:13You know what your problem is?
- 4:16Your problem is you haven't accepted.
- 4:20And of course I was being sarcastic.
- 4:21What do you mean?
- 4:22Come on, man.
- 4:22He's no.
- 4:23Like you admit you don't mind standing up and saying, hi, my name is Jesse.
- 4:26I'm an addict or I'm an alcoholic.
- 4:28You admitted it.
- 4:29Your problem is you haven't accepted it.
- 4:31Whatever.
- 4:32And he says, No.
- 4:34What you haven't accepted is that you will never become the promise you're intended to be if you continue living life the way you're living it.
- 4:42Yeah.
- 4:43And I've tried, I've spent a lot of time thinking about what I felt in that moment.
- 4:50Because when he said you'll never become the promise you're intended to be, I knew exactly what he was talking about.
- 4:57I knew the self betrayal that contributed to that.
- 5:01I knew all the moments that even for a millisecond, I aspired to be something greater than anybody would imagine for me.
- 5:10And then I Suffocate that out, like all of that happened in that moment and that was it.
- 5:16Okay, that's the whole, that's it.
- 5:18I need to become the promise I'm intended to be.
- 5:21And he didn't say, it's super important.
- 5:23He didn't say if you continue drinking or you continue womanizing.
- 5:28And he said, you continue living life the way you're living it.
- 5:32And so that was the thing, right?
- 5:34Is, okay, how am I living life such that it's creating this prison that I'm in?
- 5:41And little by little over the, seven plus years now, I've been able to work it and chip away at it.
- 5:48And so to the second part of the question of like, how do I Recognize the behaviors and say no.
- 5:53Let's keep going.
- 5:54When there, there's not a.
- 5:55Worn Path.
- 5:57It's a new path that I'm discovering.
- 5:59I, there's no answers and there's no guarantees.
- 6:02And I just take the next rightest step.
- 6:04And what are the qualifiers of it being the next rightest step?
- 6:08Is, am I sharing my gifts and talents in service to others?
- 6:12Period.
- 6:12If I'm not, when I'm not sharing my gifts and talents because I'm intimidated or scared or it's something I've never done before, like all that fear stuff, I am not on my path.
- 6:25I will not become the promise I'm intended to be.
- 6:28And so it's okay, is this going to be exciting?
- 6:31Check.
- 6:32Is this going to help somebody?
- 6:34Check.
- 6:36Do I need to know how to do it and do it perfectly the first time?
- 6:39No.
- 6:40Let's go baby.
- 6:40Let's do the damn thing.
- 6:41And so that's the model.
- 6:43What do you think?
- 6:44Oh my God.
- 6:45Thank you for sharing that.
- 6:47And I am so glad that clicked for you because you are clearly in your purpose and you are passionate now.
- 6:53So I'm glad I brought you here.
- 6:57Yes.
- 6:58It's, so that brings me to, to you.
- 7:01Staying in your purpose.
- 7:02Purpose seems like an important thing for you.
- 7:04What does the fulfillment feel like?
- 7:06Because I know we both know how much time, effort, energy, just thinking about the damn thing that you're working on.
- 7:14How much fulfillment do you get?
- 7:16When you're in your purpose.
- 7:18It's the equivalent to a spiritual experience To that sort of enlightening moment that aha moment and once you're in it, you almost raise your baseline of it yes, the first time you feel it.
- 7:34Oh, wow.
- 7:34I'm giving back I feel Good.
- 7:37This is what it's about.
- 7:38And then all of a sudden you get on the wheel and then the wheel has legs and then it has wings and then you're flying and you're like, Oh my God, why haven't I've had wings this whole time.
- 7:49What do you mean?
- 7:52That's what it feels like.
- 7:53Yes.
- 7:54Oh, I love that.
- 7:55Cause then you're flying and it's Whoa.
- 7:57It's not I'm flying this whole time, right?
- 8:00And damn it, I could have been flying all this time.
- 8:03I just wasn't.
- 8:04And why?
- 8:05Because of me.
- 8:06That gets a little tricky.
- 8:08I never go back and regret those things, right?
- 8:10Because we wouldn't have found out we could fly had we not crawled.
- 8:15So I don't like to beat myself up or others for what we could have done.
- 8:20More importantly, now that we are flying, that we can soar.
- 8:24Yes, ma'am.
- 8:25It's okay.
- 8:25So given that you completely understand and appreciate the progression of crawling to flying, how do you share your experience in benefit to others?
- 8:37And helping them transition.
- 8:39Have you spent any time in that space at all?
- 9:22Yes so it ties into your original question, which is the evolution of my career.
- 9:30My non linear, non career.
- 9:32So I was I was in college, and then I was deciding whether or not to start medical school.
- 9:37I started my first company, which is called Swipes Love Wipes.
- 9:41But during college, I worked for the Ritz Carlton as a bartender.
- 9:45And I always invoked those values into whatever I did, which is we are ladies and gentlemen, serving ladies and gentlemen.
- 9:54So even in construction, which I now teach it's what I teach in the class that we are, we do our jobs with dignity and we are called to serve and that there is pride in the work that we do because we are, if you do it right, then you're actually helping people.
- 10:10which is by cleaning, sanitizing, remediation, construction, building, whatever it is that we can do to bring our skills.
- 10:17So in that I was very lucky that my, one of my mentors who is in the remediation industry, he put me through StrengthsFinder.
- 10:29And the first, I don't know if you're familiar with it.
- 10:31Have you done that assessment?
- 10:33The first time I did it.
- 10:34No surprise here.
- 10:36Woo.
- 10:37I'm woo.
- 10:38Positivity, self assurance, adaptability, and relator, right?
- 10:43The first time I read that, I was like, how did this know?
- 10:46How did this know who I am?
- 10:48Wait a minute.
- 10:49If this knows me and this is what I'm destined to do, no wonder I've been getting all this wrong, right?
- 10:54I'm trying to be all of these things, but really, I just needed to remember what my strengths were.
- 11:02And then once I knew them and I could strengthen my strengths and be in them and not shy away from it, it became.
- 11:11such a tool that I could give back to others.
- 11:14So in addition to the remediation construction work that I do, I have a side business which is personal and business coaching because, how did you do it first?
- 11:24They're like, why are you doing it?
- 11:25Now they're like, how did you do it?
- 11:28And really building a business is a lot of the same framework, just applying it to whatever industry you're in.
- 11:34And so I work with CEOs that are bringing mission to their business for the first time.
- 11:42A lot of people went through the motions, right?
- 11:45They went to the best college.
- 11:46They married the best partner.
- 11:47They had the best kids.
- 11:48They sent them to the best schools.
- 11:50They opened up the best company.
- 11:51They made the best money.
- 11:52And then they're getting ready to retire.
- 11:53And they're like, I have no meaning in my life, right?
- 11:58Yes.
- 11:58And I built this wonderful company, but it does.
- 12:01Nothing impactful.
- 12:03So now I get to work with them to rediscover their strengths and build a legacy of the work that they've done.
- 12:11Or if you're a new company starting up I help build your team.
- 12:15Because I'm not going to hire somebody with my same strengths.
- 12:19Because I need somebody that complements my strengths, because although I have strengths, I have a ton of weaknesses.
- 12:25So I need to make sure that the people on my team can carry the weight that I don't.
- 12:30So yeah, I get to do that now.
- 12:31I get to empower people by helping remind them of what they are great at.
- 12:35What I love about what I do is that I'm not giving somebody my recipe.
- 12:41I could tell you exactly what my exercise routine is, what foods I eat, what supplements I eat.
- 12:46That's not going to be what fuels you.
- 12:48You need to find your perfect recipe.
- 12:51So I get to just shed light on other people.
- 12:54They just, a lot of it is very natural, but we get so distracted with the day to day that then it becomes overwhelming and they don't even know where to start.
- 13:03So their path is already laid for them, or they have a vision of what they would like, and I just get to illuminate it.
- 13:12Yes.
- 13:13Do you find there's a point where The more the, they finally stopped trying to be what everybody around them has been telling them they should be.
- 13:25And then things get easier for them all of a sudden.
- 13:27Watching those ahas is just magical.
- 13:32For me, like that resonates with me, right?
- 13:34People ask me what do I love about?
- 13:36What I do, and it's what are you talking about?
- 13:38Because I do a lot of stuff, but like particularly emotional bungee jumpers and sweat equity improvement.
- 13:44Those are two things I do that I just want to do them every minute of the day.
- 13:50And the reason is because I am present to witness the light bulbs to witness the transformation.
- 13:58And they happen so fast.
- 14:00And like I just want more of that.
- 14:02And so for me, it's like all of a sudden, Here's what I feel like.
- 14:07I feel like I'm escorting people into self discovery, right?
- 14:12That's what I feel like.
- 14:13Now that's how, just the word escort makes it sound risqué, but it's that thing of...
- 14:19It must be fun.
- 14:20Jesus God, it's so fun.
- 14:23And I don't, except for that one therapist, I don't know that anyone ever could guide me through it, or at least make sure I wasn't falling off the damn edge.
- 14:31But what I do remember...
- 14:32Is there was a period of time in my career.
- 14:34I was a plumbing foreman on the verge of becoming a superintendent.
- 14:38And I was fighting against my natural tendencies.
- 14:44So what I mean by that is they wanted to give me more responsibility.
- 14:48The company did because I, whatever I could perform and do the job.
- 14:51My team members, my peers wanted me to take the role.
- 14:55Because they trusted me and blah, blah, blah.
- 14:58But I was fighting against it because I'm like, man, I just want to work seven to three 30, and go home.
- 15:04That's what I thought I wanted.
- 15:06And so finally, when I stopped fighting against that, my natural talents and just said, okay, this is what I do without even trying, I'm just going to like, try not to do the other things.
- 15:19And it was like this treasure chest of capacity.
- 15:23That was there the whole time.
- 15:25I was able just to dip into it and continue going and growing and helping others.
- 15:32And so now, when I'm working with people, it's I can see how much amazingness they're not accessing because they're following somebody else's script.
- 15:43What do you think about that?
- 15:45Totally.
- 15:47A lot of what I do is give people permission.
- 15:51To let go of that.
- 15:52There's never been anybody that's told them like that doesn't, nobody cares.
- 15:56That doesn't matter.
- 15:57Yeah.
- 15:59You can do this.
- 16:00You are, you can design the life that you want.
- 16:03I can be me, right?
- 16:04Giving someone permission to be themselves.
- 16:06Nobody has ever released them of that stress before.
- 16:10Yes.
- 16:11Yes.
- 16:11So the word design I think is the operative word there, right?
- 16:16Because we can absolutely design our lives.
- 16:18And I think, you already touched on how you got to see your mom design her life.
- 16:23You've been around people all the way through.
- 16:25So in, in the designing of your life, because you're the architect of that life.
- 16:31Yeah.
- 16:31Is there a significant error or pain point that you made along the way that gave you like a big giant learning and maybe life lesson takeaway going forward?
- 16:42I have chosen to see all of my experiences as learning curves, but I can say that for parts of my life, I didn't value myself the way I should have, and I stayed in situations longer than I should have, because I thought...
- 16:59That I was doing the right thing or if, if I'm better, then they'll be better or, whatever pressure, whatever lies we tell ourselves, whatever pressure we put on ourselves, right?
- 17:09And then I had a friend once say to me, I was in a relationship and it's everything's so calm and everything's so nice and blah, blah, blah, blah.
- 17:18And my friend goes, Did it ever occur to you that you're the one that brings the calm?
- 17:22And I was like, Oh, that's right.
- 17:24I can take this with me.
- 17:25I'm out.
- 17:29Nevermind.
- 17:32It was not long after that I moved on quickly.
- 17:37But even still, I don't regret any of those experiences.
- 17:40And I have wonderful friends and family, and they all came with good things, or they came with learning things.
- 17:47And maybe I wouldn't have grown had I not beat myself up, right?
- 17:52I don't know.
- 17:53Maybe I didn't have to go through that, but I did.
- 17:55So here we are, but that's the name of my coaching business.
- 17:59I'm the tough love department.
- 18:01No way.
- 18:02Cause I'm the steel toes and stilettos.
- 18:04So the name of the coaching is Steel Toes and Stilettos?
- 18:07No, the name of the coaching is the Tough Love Department.
- 18:10The Tough Love Department.
- 18:11Okay, so it's pretty straightforward.
- 18:15I cut through the nonsense, right?
- 18:17No, I don't care what you've been told.
- 18:19I don't care what lies you tell.
- 18:20By the time you're working with me, I'm not holding your hand.
- 18:25We're jumping together.
- 18:26And, we're going to do it and that's it.
- 18:29And once you start with the excuses and the not, and I go no, that's for your therapist.
- 18:34That's not for me.
- 18:35With me we're taking steps forward.
- 18:38I'm not saying you shouldn't feel those things.
- 18:40I'm just saying, this is not the place for them.
- 18:42You get to feel them.
- 18:44Just not right now.
- 18:46Right now we're gonna get stuff done.
- 18:49Oh, that's so amazing.
- 18:50I know you did this on purpose, like the name itself helps people self select out.
- 18:55How true is that?
- 18:57A thousand percent.
- 18:58I am not for everybody.
- 19:01Some people don't want to.
- 19:02They like living in their life and that's fine.
- 19:05Yes.
- 19:06So have you, how many folks have you dealt with it?
- 19:09You get up to a point or maybe get a little bit started and then they're like, hey, I got to pump the brakes.
- 19:15And then come back.
- 19:16Does that?
- 19:17The work that we do is intensive.
- 19:19So sometimes it does require breathers or breaks.
- 19:23Or there's a lot on your plate that you gotta shuffle through before we're ready for the next step.
- 19:28But I've never had anybody give up or stop because the start process is pretty selective.
- 19:34I don't work with anybody.
- 19:36If you need a hand holder and you need a shoulder to cry on and that's it, we're not singing kumbaya.
- 19:41That's just not me.
- 19:42There are people for that and I can recommend you to them, but when you're ready, then we'll get started.
- 19:49So by the time they've come to me they want to be actionable.
- 19:53There's people in my life that What I've been able to observe is they'll get to a point, one, they're like, man, you're just too intense.
- 20:04I'm like, yeah, I've heard that a few times.
- 20:06You may have heard it once or twice.
- 20:08And I've been called all sorts of things, Jesse.
- 20:13And so I'm hey, I got you and I understand where you're at and you're going to get off the train station here.
- 20:20And that's okay.
- 20:20That's okay.
- 20:21When you're ready to get back on the train, there's another one coming.
- 20:26And it's interesting because one person in particular, we were, working through some stuff and I said, Hey, these are the actions.
- 20:32Call me when you take them.
- 20:33And nine months went by and, I feel, and I'm going to go check, but that's for her to do.
- 20:38So anyways, nine months come by, she called, Hey, we got to meet for breakfast.
- 20:42I'm like, okay, what happened?
- 20:44I did the thing like.
- 20:45Oh okay.
- 20:46When?
- 20:46She's last week.
- 20:47I'm like, ah, okay.
- 20:48And so we were talking and I said, Hey, what happened?
- 20:50Like nine months.
- 20:52And she says, those things were so terrifying.
- 20:57And I had some other stuff, personal relationship stuff that was consuming my energy.
- 21:02Like I didn't have, it was just too big for me.
- 21:06And I'm like, okay, but I finally did it and this was the outcome.
- 21:10And it was huge, right?
- 21:11Cause of course yeah, duh, it's going to make a difference.
- 21:14I'm like, okay, now here's the important part.
- 21:17And to the point you're making, like there's no point in regretting anything.
- 21:21So for me, even in the darkest times, there's something to be learned.
- 21:25What can I learn from this experience right now is as embarrassing, shameful, whatever it can be, what am I learning?
- 21:32Period.
- 21:33The rest of the stuff, whatever, it's done.
- 21:35It's okay, now that you've been here, looking back on, on what you actually experienced, would you wait that long again?
- 21:43And she said, hell no! It was nothing like the...
- 21:48Doomsday scenario that she had painted in her head of taking those actions.
- 21:55It was nothing compared to that.
- 21:57It was a walk in the park and I'm like, okay, I can almost pinky promise you that all the big decisions, the pain is not in the decision.
- 22:07The pain is in not making the decision.
- 22:11Like the one thing that brings me the most pain is sitting there.
- 22:16Running through the what ifs, instead of just doing the damn thing.
- 22:22I see you nodding your head, so you're like, yeah.
- 22:24I could have been flying this whole time! Exactly! What are these wings for?
- 22:32They're to fly, dammit! Fly! Yeah.
- 22:36Come on, let me show you.
- 22:40Yes, yeah.
- 22:41Okay, so construction, but what has it been like what's your experience been like in the building of business in construction?
- 22:48Was it, did you just decide, hey, construction looks interesting.
- 22:52I'm going to go do this thing.
- 22:53What was that trajectory like?
- 22:55Oh I did a retail product launch called Swipes Love Wipes.
- 22:58We sold an all natural, eco friendly, adult wipe for before and after intimate moments.
- 23:04PH balanced for the pig parts, biodegradable, compostable, and flushable.
- 23:07Made in the USA.
- 23:09Can't tell you how many times I said that at trade shows.
- 23:12Yes.
- 23:13It became an order taking business and it's a whole long story.
- 23:16But anyways, basically within 24 hours, my friend had moved here from Michigan and He was not used to the culture in South Florida and he was a public adjuster and he's you know how to build a business.
- 23:29I see all these contractors just doing whatever they want.
- 23:32I'm telling you, you can make a ton of money.
- 23:34And at the time I was heartbroken and I was starting from scratch again.
- 23:38And I was like, man, I don't know anything about this.
- 23:41And he's listen, it's not that hard.
- 23:43If it's wet, you dry it.
- 23:44If it's moldy, you tear it out, you show up on time, bill a fair price, and you'll never have to advertise.
- 23:50And he was right.
- 23:51Yeah.
- 23:51And, but I saw a lot of things during that time, which brought me to where I am now, which is there was a ton of fraud in the industry that was undocumented and unprotected workers.
- 24:03And there was again, that fork in the road where I could do things according to industry standards and make a ton of money and not.
- 24:11Sleep well with my conscious or choose the route to get certified as an instructor, do things correctly, teach the standards to the industry and raise the bar.
- 24:24I made a lot less money than he had promised, but I have longevity in the industry and now I'm one of the experts.
- 24:31Yeah.
- 24:31And this course that you teach, you mentioned teaching a couple of times, which seems to be a thread.
- 24:36What is it that you teach?
- 24:38Mold remediation.
- 24:39I teach the same course.
- 24:41So I show contractors how to do it.
- 24:44Ah, very cool.
- 24:46And of course, relationships.
- 24:48Is there any value in relationships, Ms.
- 24:50Maxine?
- 24:52What do you mean?
- 24:53The relationships you make with people out there in the industry.
- 24:57Oh, yes, of course.
- 24:58We're human, we're gregarious, right?
- 25:00We're community based beings.
- 25:03And it doesn't happen alone, right?
- 25:06There's no there's nothing I've ever done that I've done alone.
- 25:09I'm done with the help or the support or the collaboration of others.
- 25:13And even just now I was at a conference in Vegas for remediation.
- 25:19And the most valuable thing that happened was the conversations that I had there because I'm probably one of the youngest.
- 25:29I'm definitely one of the only women and to know.
- 25:33The industry experts are, maybe in their seventies and they are the rock stars of the industry and they are the original scientists that back all of this.
- 25:43They're the ones that actually write the laws for states and write and do the science to back these industry guidelines to know that as long as they've been in their careers.
- 25:55They are still passionate and excited and see the changes that are coming in the evolution of our industry.
- 26:03It just reignites what I do because I don't know if you know this, but there's only five states in this country, in the USA, there's only five states that have mold licensing laws.
- 26:13Even in the state of Florida, there's a tenant law, like to protect tenants.
- 26:20And it talks about building code.
- 26:22And that you have to have a safe building code to be habitable, air quality is not a factor in whether or not a building is safe.
- 26:31Oh wow.
- 26:33And now, that's in this country.
- 26:35There's basically no other country, and if there are, I don't know which ones they are, that have mold licensing laws.
- 26:42So if you're traveling and staying in hotels, chances are most of them have some kind of mold.
- 26:47And they don't have regulations to do anything about it.
- 26:50Yeah.
- 26:51And if they don't have to, they won't, right?
- 26:52If they don't have to, they won't.
- 26:54There are some high value people that will do the right thing, but they are few and far between.
- 27:01That is so true.
- 27:03So you have this business, you're teaching Coaching.
- 27:07And you have this other passion of having a global workforce.
- 27:12Yeah.
- 27:13That's a lot.
- 27:14And I'm sure you do all kinds of other things, right?
- 27:16Like self care, fitness, adventurous things.
- 27:19You talked about free diving.
- 27:22What footprint do you want to leave on the world?
- 27:25Oh leave no trace, right?
- 27:27Oof, like it never happened.
- 27:28I just hope to live my life to inspire others to live their best life.
- 27:34And if I can help other people actualize in their purpose.
- 27:37It was something you said at the beginning, like, how do you convince others of that?
- 27:42I think that's the point of it is that there are no others, we are one, right?
- 27:47So if I'm empowering them, I'm empowering myself and then that becomes the ripple effect.
- 27:54Yes.
- 27:54And if we can, one ripple at a time, raise our collective consciousness then I will have done my best.
- 28:02That's amazing.
- 28:03Yeah.
- 28:03It's like reciprocal propulsion.
- 28:06Yes.
- 28:07As we contribute, we find somebody else that contributes, they contribute, speak into my life, I speak into their life, and then it just, it grows.
- 28:16And I love it.
- 28:17We are one.
- 28:18Yes.
- 28:19Yes.
- 28:20And it's very funny because, I I say statements like that sometimes and I hear them come out of my mouth and I'm like, you just, you hit me at heart.
- 28:28And at the same time, my father's a quantum physicist and I studied neuroscience.
- 28:35And so people are like how can you say things like that?
- 28:38I'm like, because data shows it, like you just, there are, there, it's undeniable.
- 28:44And there are things that you, We humans have not evolved to the point that we can understand everything that is destined for us.
- 28:53And some things we have to act in faith.
- 28:56And there is a science behind that.
- 28:58Yes.
- 28:59So folks, you didn't hear it from me.
- 29:01You heard it from Maxine.
- 29:02And all I'm going to say is I told you there's just so much, right?
- 29:09There's just so much.
- 29:11Amazingness.
- 29:13And for a lot of reasons we walk through life trying to disconnect ourselves from it.
- 29:19Because, right?
- 29:20And because what?
- 29:21Because everything.
- 29:22Because we're people.
- 29:23But there are some wackos like us out there that...
- 29:26that are flying around because we know we're living it.
- 29:30Okay.
- 29:30So how can people get ahold of you?
- 29:33Where should they go if they want to get more of your energy?
- 29:36If they're looking for some tough love, like where are the spots to find you?
- 29:41Thank you.
- 29:42Either at DryTech247, DryTech247, or the Tough Love Department, D E P T.
- 29:49Tough Love D E P T.
- 29:50Awesome.
- 29:52And I'm assuming there's.
- 29:53There's some space for to give Dole out some more tough love.
- 29:58Oh, absolutely.
- 29:59Yeah.
- 30:00There's, it's one of those never ending things.
- 30:07And you get tough love.
- 30:08You get tough love.
- 30:10Everybody has tough love.
- 30:11you want to obviously Anson.
- 30:22Yeah.
- 30:22Because through, through scratching at the walls and digging that's how I found him was I was looking for guidance in immigration and I spoke with people in the immigration reform committee and I went up to Washington, D.
- 30:36C.
- 30:36I was talking to congressmen, digging and people like, just stop.
- 30:39It's not going to happen.
- 30:41And I met.
- 30:43These wonderful people at the Adult Coalition for Education and they turned me on to Amson.
- 30:48And I don't know if you or your listeners have talked about what he does with Purdue, but basically when I found out what he does with his program, I was like, that's it.
- 30:58It's possible.
- 30:59We're on it.
- 31:01And the reason I can be fearless is because other people have laid the path for me.
- 31:07And he's one of them.
- 31:08Amazing.
- 31:09He's an amazing dude.
- 31:11He's in, it's like just when I think I know what he's contributed to and what he's up to, there's like layers and layers of more geez, okay, I wanna be like you when I grow up because he's amazing and you too mix.
- 31:26I wanna be like you, Jesse And he's like us, that he's always laughing and smiley'cause he just loves what he does.
- 31:34Yeah, people always think, Oh my God don't you run out of energy?
- 31:38I'm like, no, I am fueled by this.
- 31:40It is what gives me the energy.
- 31:42Yeah.
- 31:43Somebody asked me that.
- 31:44Where do you get your energy from?
- 31:46And I was like, I wasn't prepared for the question because I had just taught a class and, I'm animated and I said, I think it's because I've designed my life such that I spend the majority of it.
- 31:57Sharing my gifts and talents and doing fulfilling work.
- 32:00And because that's what I'm doing, gives me more energy to continue doing it.
- 32:07And like you said, there's, the bar keeps getting higher and higher.
- 32:10So there's two of us now, Ms.
- 32:12Maxine, thank you.
- 32:13And LnM Family start sharing your gifts and talents.
- 32:17You want energy?
- 32:18Serve others.
- 32:19You'll get energy.
- 32:22I told you.
- 32:23I told you was going to be some fire coming through Ms.
- 32:26Maxine.
