Transcript
- 0:03Welcome to Positive Talk Radio.
- 0:05Our goal is simple to explore evolving ideas, one conversation at a time.
- 0:10So stay with us, and right now we present.
- 0:17Are you a motorhead?
- 0:18Do you like cars?
- 0:20Do you like to learn all about cars?
- 0:21Do you wanna know about somebody who knows all about cars while
- 0:25you're talking to the wrong person?
- 0:26But I brought somebody here, UCCI Farrick, who does know a lot about cars.
- 0:31And they also do a podcast, which is called the Break Fix Podcast.
- 0:35And, uh, uh, they have, uh, company, grand Touring, motor Sports and
- 0:40all that kind of good stuff.
- 0:41So, uh, crew Chief Eric, it's, it's a, it's my pleasure to have you on the show.
- 0:46How are you?
- 0:47Great.
- 0:47And, uh, thanks for having me.
- 0:48This is really exciting.
- 0:49Looking forward to diving into maybe some of the lesser known parts of our story.
- 0:53So thanks for having me.
- 0:55Well, good, because I know very little about the cars that you work with, and
- 1:00now that's, that's really not true.
- 1:02My, my son is a mechanic and, uh, he's a, he's a diesel mechanic, so by
- 1:06osmosis I'm supposed to know a little bit, but I don't know very much at all.
- 1:10It's just, but I am interested in the story about how you got,
- 1:14you know, on your website it says everybody's got a story and.
- 1:19I'm interested in the story that you have as to how you ended up doing what
- 1:24you're doing and being quite successful at it, by the way, so, you know, it has.
- 1:30little to do with cars and a lot more to do with turns of events in my life.
- 1:35So I gotta kind of step backwards before we can take the springboard
- 1:39forward and talk about, you know, where things are today and why
- 1:42break fixes exist and whatnot.
- 1:43So as I was thinking about this conversation before coming on the show,
- 1:48it really traces back to when I was a kid growing up in an immigrant family in
- 1:53a semis strict Roman Catholic household.
- 1:55I was constantly questioning.
- 1:58my faith.
- 1:58And I realized something early on that maybe I wasn't necessarily religious,
- 2:03but a little bit more spiritual.
- 2:04And I, I, to this day contest that there's only one truth I ever learned from all
- 2:09the dogma and rhetoric that was forced in my throat, wi within private school
- 2:14and things like that, which was from dust you came and from dust you shall return.
- 2:19And what I mean by that is I kind of extrapolated a little further because as.
- 2:24As I was growing up, I became a student of history.
- 2:27I really enjoyed investigating people's lives.
- 2:30I realized very quickly that history wasn't about dates and places and
- 2:33names and memorizing that stuff.
- 2:35It's really about links in a chain and how events.
- 2:40Basically influence other events and, and things happen from that.
- 2:44And ideas are born and then inventions are created.
- 2:46And it's this just beautiful ecosystem when you kind of
- 2:49sit back and look at things.
- 2:50So you're like, well, what does that have to do with, you know, from dust you
- 2:53cave and from dust, you child return?
- 2:54So I kind of look at.
- 2:56, the eternal life, the afterlife in the same way, and this is where the
- 2:59spirituality part of this comes in.
- 3:01In that history.
- 3:04A person's story per se continue, a person themselves continues
- 3:09to live on in this afterlife.
- 3:11As long as your story continues to be.
- 3:14Retold, it's all about that verbal history, about that tribal history,
- 3:19that tribal knowledge that we learn about, you know, from the early days.
- 3:22So all of that has influenced my life sort of in the background.
- 3:25And that's why I say what, what I'm doing today has a lot more to do with that
- 3:30and people that influence me in that way than it really does have to do with cars.
- 3:35So, uh, how was Catholic school, by the way?
- 3:38, the nuns were amazing.
- 3:39I mean, my knuckles remember every minute of it.
- 3:46I can only imagine.
- 3:47I, I personally, I went to Lutheran school and you know, it's interesting
- 3:50because you and I seem to have had the same kind of childhood because I
- 3:56didn't buy any, I didn't buy a lot of what I was being told either cuz it's.
- 4:01J doesn't make a, a bit of sense to me.
- 4:04Um, well, in, in the medieval times it would've been labeled a heretic.
- 4:07So , ah, yes indeed.
- 4:10. And, and your beard would be burned off.
- 4:15. , well, Lutherans and Catholics.
- 4:17That's like Bud and Bud light, right?
- 4:18It's saint guilt, half the calories or whatever.
- 4:22Exactly, and it depends upon which Catholic or Lutheran church are in too.
- 4:26Cuz I was part of the Missouri Senate, which is a very conservative,
- 4:31uh, branch of, of the Lutheranism.
- 4:34Of course everybody knows Martin Luther broke away from the Catholic
- 4:37church and I'm surprised that he didn't get, uh, um, executed for heresy.
- 4:43But uh, you know, but in any event, I found it to be really hard to take this.
- 4:49And I agree with you this, um, Dust to dust kind of thing.
- 4:54Um, and then what really got me was they kept on telling
- 4:58me that come the judgment day.
- 5:00See when you, when you die mm-hmm.
- 5:02, you get married and then you stay buried until, uh, until the judgment day.
- 5:07And then when you, then everybody will be revived and then they'll be walking
- 5:12around like nothing happened, uh, kind of, kind of thing, but they'll
- 5:15still have a physical body and that it just didn't make any sense to.
- 5:20it's a little bit science fiction, a little, you know, and I'm not
- 5:22trying to poo poo on anybody's beliefs or faith or whatever.
- 5:26Everybody has a different outlook on things.
- 5:28For me, it, it does read like a, like a zombie film sometimes . So as a kid, I, I
- 5:33just didn't know what to think, you know?
- 5:35Now as an adult, and I look back, I mean, I, I still have different
- 5:38views on a lot of things, but I still hold true to those stories, whether
- 5:42they're good, bad, or indifferent.
- 5:45There's people that will live.
- 5:47In celebrity and in infamy because their stories continue to be told
- 5:51and others will just be forgotten.
- 5:53And when that last person that knew you or knew of your story has
- 5:57passed on, then you cease to exist.
- 6:00And that's what's important about capturing living histories, capturing
- 6:03the stories of people while they're still with us, and making sure those
- 6:07perpetuate, especially now in the digital era, we have more ways of doing that.
- 6:11I, I tell you, it's, it's, it's so true.
- 6:13I have.
- 6:15I'm a little bit older now.
- 6:17I'm older than you by quite, probably quite a little bit.
- 6:20And, but I remember, you know, like, uh, stars and people from way back
- 6:26when, and, and I, I, the guy asked me one time, he, uh, a younger
- 6:30person and, um, I gave him a riddle.
- 6:33I said, okay, because he, he was saying that, uh, he'd
- 6:37never, he'd never met a black j.
- 6:40Um, and, and I said, well, there, there are lots of them.
- 6:44And, and I said, well, I'll give you one example.
- 6:46He had one eye, and you don't know who I'm talking about.
- 6:50He had one eye.
- 6:51He hadn't got into an accident.
- 6:52He was a singer.
- 6:54He was, uh, uh, one of the rat pack.
- 6:57Um, and his name was, Sammy Davis, Jr.
- 7:01Ah, see, and he couldn't come up with it.
- 7:03It's, it's like it didn't, it didn't exist for him.
- 7:06And so, you're right.
- 7:07As as we go down the road, people and even famous people, I, I asked another
- 7:12guy about Bob Hope, he said, who?
- 7:14And, and Bing Crosby and, and, and, uh, Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin,
- 7:20Dean Martin and Jerry, all those guys, they tend to fade over time.
- 7:25Um, because as generations go, Things just change and I think it's a shame.
- 7:31I think we should, I think we should honor the heritage that we come from and
- 7:35the people that came before us because we're building upon what they did.
- 7:41Years ago, and that, that's a very true statement.
- 7:44And I think in some ways there are different verticals though, right?
- 7:48Because you spoke specifically about the genre of music.
- 7:50And so if you're an audio file, if you're a musician, if you study the history of
- 7:55music or you're, if that's your hobby, you're gonna be familiar with Sinatra
- 7:58and the rap pack and, and all those guys.
- 8:01So they kind of live on in that community.
- 8:04But the bigger question becomes how do we spread those stories to other
- 8:07communities to then inspire folks to say, well, I want to be like so-and-so.
- 8:12I want be like Sinatra.
- 8:13I wanna be like Tony Bennett or whoever, you know, name your favorite celebrity.
- 8:18You know, and that's part of my mission is to remind people that, at least in
- 8:21our niche, because it's kind of funny, we have to label ourselves a niche
- 8:25in the vehicle and motorsports world.
- 8:27And when in reality it's a multi-trillion dollar industry,
- 8:30it's, it impacts everybody's life, especially in the United States.
- 8:33We are a car culture, whether we.
- 8:35Whichever side of that argument we choose to be on.
- 8:38Whether you're a dinosaur like me and enjoy petrol, or if you're
- 8:41part of the next generation, early adopters of ev, it doesn't matter.
- 8:45We don't have a mass transit system here, like in Europe where you
- 8:48can just abandon cars altogether and not even think about it.
- 8:51We're we're grounded in cars.
- 8:54Cars influence music.
- 8:55Music influence cars.
- 8:56They influence society, architecture.
- 8:58It's, it's amazing how entrenched they are in our day-to-day.
- 9:03It really is remarkable because, well, without cars we would be.
- 9:07Um, and America's pretty big, so , it's a big, it's a big ass place.
- 9:13And, and it's hard to, you know, and I, I was a bus driver for a dozen
- 9:17years in Seattle and they have a, a good bus system, but still there are
- 9:21a lot of people that wouldn't take the bus and probably rightfully so, cuz
- 9:25there's a lot of people who do take the bus who should not be taking the bus.
- 9:30They should be in jail.
- 9:31But that's the story for another time.
- 9:33But, uh, but now see with your podcast, , you're now going to be immortal.
- 9:38I, you know, one way or the other.
- 9:40Cryogenically frozen, you know, or the or lemon style where you're
- 9:44changing my blood, like an oil change every 30 days, whatever works.
- 9:47I mean, you know,
- 9:49So there's a couple, there's a couple reasons for that.
- 9:52So let's kind of step backwards into that story and how it comes
- 9:56from how we set the stage here in this particular conversation.
- 10:01Grant Touring Motorsports, as it stands today, has been
- 10:04an evolution over 20 years.
- 10:06It's gone through several different iterations, and it's most recent
- 10:09one that the last eight years that we've been around is really an
- 10:13honor of my father who passed away.
- 10:16He was a big personality in the DC and Maryland, Virginia area.
- 10:19You know, how he contributed to the automotive community,
- 10:22all these kinds of things.
- 10:23And I grew up in the shadow of that, you know, growing up
- 10:26around the racetrack for me.
- 10:29Wasn't a hobby, it was a lifestyle.
- 10:31It was just what you did.
- 10:32And, you know, growing around up around really influential people that always
- 10:35were full of stories and full of life.
- 10:37I mean, petrol heads a really interesting bunch of people.
- 10:41I mean, armchair quarterbacks for sure, in a lot of cases, like how you can do
- 10:46better, you can always do better area.
- 10:47They're always critiquing each other.
- 10:49But at the, at the end of the day, they're, it's an interesting community of
- 10:52people that are there to help one another.
- 10:55If something goes wrong, something goes completely pear shaped.
- 10:58, they drop everything.
- 10:59They run to people's rescue.
- 11:01You know, safety is always at the utmost, uh, uh, is paramount.
- 11:04So it, it was just interesting growing up in that.
- 11:07And so growing up in the shadow of that, uh, a lot of people,
- 11:10you know, respected my dad.
- 11:11They knew of my dad.
- 11:12And then when he passed and he passed away at an early age from stage four, brain
- 11:17cancer, sort of left a hole in my life because my dad was my best friend, right?
- 11:21So I go with him everywhere at all these events, you know,
- 11:23all these kinds of things.
- 11:24And I didn't really know what to do.
- 11:27And.
- 11:28Like I had said, G T M had gone through different iterations.
- 11:32At one point it had started out sort of as a car club specifically for one
- 11:36mark, and then it became a business reselling parts, and then it went
- 11:39dormant, and then we turned it back into this club honoring my father.
- 11:43Um, by way of one of my high longtime high school friends and my
- 11:47partner in all this, uh, Brad Novak.
- 11:50So he came to me one day and he said, you know, we should
- 11:51really get people together.
- 11:53We should, you know, rename the grand to motorsports in honor of your dad,
- 11:56you know, all this kind of stuff.
- 11:57And just kind of went from there.
- 11:58And we weren't really sure what we were doing, but I knew that
- 12:00I needed to get back out there.
- 12:02And my wife also sort of kicked me in the butt because, You know, loafing
- 12:05around the house, depressed, you know, I don't really have any other hobbies
- 12:09than being in the motor sports world.
- 12:11And she's like, you gotta get out of the house.
- 12:12You gotta do something.
- 12:14. Right?
- 12:15. And I'm like, oh, are you, are you sure?
- 12:17Cuz I said, this is a slippery slope.
- 12:19I said, if I go back into racing, it's, it's a whole, you
- 12:22know, it's a whole ball of wax.
- 12:23And she's like, yeah, do what you gotta do.
- 12:25You know, just, just get it done.
- 12:26And so, Started building all these relationships, all these friendships.
- 12:30The car club grew like overnight and it allowed us to do other things.
- 12:36And every year that we celebrated an anniversary, we celebrated it.
- 12:40You know, in honor of my dad's passing and things like that.
- 12:43And a lot of people that were in the club were, knew him and things like that,
- 12:47and so we always wanted to do something more, something bigger, something better.
- 12:50We're always brainstorming new ideas.
- 12:52How do we keep things fresh?
- 12:53Because in today's day and age, if you don't.
- 12:56Evolve.
- 12:56You die, right?
- 12:57? Yeah.
- 12:57I hate to say it so bluntly.
- 12:59So we're always trying to, to do something different.
- 13:02And the podcast was on the back burner for quite a long time because as Brad
- 13:06used to always tell me, he's like, does anybody really care what we have to say?
- 13:10And that was perplexing.
- 13:13That was a challenge.
- 13:14That was a brick wall.
- 13:15We had to figure out how to overcome.
- 13:16But at that same time, we were already writing.
- 13:20We had been writing for quite a long time.
- 13:22The W.
- 13:23We still enjoy the written word though.
- 13:26People nowadays, it's all T L D R.
- 13:28. Too long didn't read.
- 13:30So we were asked over and over and over again.
- 13:34Can you deliver this as audio, right?
- 13:36We're trailering to racetracks.
- 13:37We're driving to work.
- 13:39The congestion in the DC area on the beltways is horrendous.
- 13:42We have a ton of windshield time.
- 13:43Can you do this as a podcast?
- 13:45And again, the question comes up, does anybody care what we have to say?
- 13:50So with the basic, but the reality, the reality is, is that you guys
- 13:54have been doing this your whole lives and so you know a lot
- 13:58about a lot of different things.
- 14:00I have been reviewing some of your material and it's like I don't know
- 14:03anything about it, but you do, you know, you're very, you're, you guys
- 14:07are very astute at what you do and you interview well and it's, if
- 14:12you like cars, this is a great.
- 14:15A great forum for you to be on and you're, and because you're doing a
- 14:19podcast now, you are now an expert Yeah.
- 14:23By internet standards.
- 14:25Absolutely.
- 14:26So, and thank you for that.
- 14:28And, and to your point, part of Brad and I's mission under the
- 14:33hood is that we also want to.
- 14:37Because there is a lot of, let's say, misinformation out there.
- 14:40So I'm not an expert in all things Volkswagens as it would seem, or
- 14:44Porsche or whatever, but it's great having people on the show that
- 14:47are, I'll give you a prime example.
- 14:50James Dean.
- 14:51There are so many mysteries.
- 14:53There are so many fallacies.
- 14:54There are just so many rumors, speculation.
- 14:57We had the world's foremost expert on all things Jane World renowned on our show.
- 15:03To set the record straight, it's fascinating.
- 15:05It's a long episode, but it's brilliant.
- 15:07If you're into that era, you always wanted to know why.
- 15:10He tells you exactly why he literally wrote the book on it, several of them.
- 15:14So to me, those things are fascinating and I wanna share that with other people.
- 15:18I wanna educate other people and be like, see, this is awesome.
- 15:21You don't have to read it on Google, you don't have to, you
- 15:23know, look it up a Wikipedia.
- 15:24This is coming from the source, from the expert.
- 15:27So I think that's absolutely just tremendous.
- 15:30And James Dean, I mean, and he only made a couple of movies
- 15:33and, uh, before he passed.
- 15:34And it was, you know, it was not a, it was not a good time that a lot of
- 15:40people had when, when that happened.
- 15:42Um, but a lot of people don't know, and he's one of those guys that should live.
- 15:48In film and, and in our minds for a long time.
- 15:52Um, but, and I, you know, I gotta be honest with you, I'm not even
- 15:56sure and Eric, that I remember, why didn't he die in, he died in
- 16:00an automobile accident, didn't he?
- 16:01That is correct.
- 16:02At a high rate of speed in an intersection.
- 16:05Not too far from Salinas.
- 16:06In a inance curve, wasn't it?
- 16:08Yeah.
- 16:09In a, in a brand new Porsche that he had only had for about nine days.
- 16:13. Yeah.
- 16:13And, uh, Jan, Jan and Dean made a, did a song about him, I believe that
- 16:18was, which was Dead Man's Curve.
- 16:20Mm-hmm.
- 16:21. Mm-hmm.
- 16:21. I, I think, yeah.
- 16:23It's amazing what you remember when it just comes flooding back in.
- 16:26But, but I love that.
- 16:28And I, I do the same thing on with, uh, the type of guests that I have on
- 16:31is, is to, uh, is to encourage people and, and help people to think about
- 16:37things in a little bit different way.
- 16:40And so, The other sort of undertone here as well is it's a bit,
- 16:46a little bit twofold and, and again, it surrounds death, right?
- 16:49A lot of this kicked off cuz my dad passed away and I was
- 16:51trying to fill a void, right?
- 16:53So in some ways, I guess it's, it's self-healing and that you, you take care
- 16:57of depression by keeping yourself busy.
- 17:00And I'm a bit of a workaholic anyway, and, and I always have
- 17:03been, and even before this, this occurred, but it really motivated.
- 17:07Do something.
- 17:07I wanted to be an agent of change in the motor sports community.
- 17:10I wanted to get these stories told.
- 17:12So again, we, we founded the club, we were writing the podcast was on
- 17:16the back burner, stuff like that.
- 17:18And then it hit me later down the road because my first daughter was
- 17:22born many years after my dad passed.
- 17:24And you know, he never got to, to meet my kids, uh, both of them.
- 17:28So I kind of thought secretly the show could be this time capsule that.
- 17:34My kids later could sit back and.
- 17:37Dad met all these super cool people from all over this, you know, huge industry.
- 17:43Got to interview them, share their stories, you know, all this kind of thing.
- 17:46And so I, I do it for them in a way that if I'm taken early, they can go back.
- 17:51They can hear my voice more than just, I'm left with literally 20 seconds
- 17:55of my dad's voice on a voicemail, you know, on his old cell phone number.
- 17:59And my mom the same way.
- 18:00She's like, that's it, you know, we don't have a ton of home movies.
- 18:03We don't have all this kind of stuff.
- 18:04And so, , I want to have something for them to fall back on.
- 18:08Right?
- 18:09And so when we, when Covid hit, we finally decided, because we were all
- 18:15sitting at home, basically sitting on our hands, staring at each other.
- 18:19And you know, it's like, well, we can do iRacing and watch whatever's
- 18:22going on in the automotive world, but the tracks are closed.
- 18:25Everybody's grounded.
- 18:26What are we gonna do?
- 18:27I called Brad and he's like, you wanna do this podcast thing?
- 18:31And so I turned back to him and I.
- 18:34, you think anybody cares what we have to say?
- 18:37So we finally said, finally, let's do it.
- 18:39Although we did our research, like everything else, we're
- 18:41a little bit pragmatic.
- 18:42So, you know, reached out to people.
- 18:44Some folks we know that we're already podcasting said, what are we gonna do?
- 18:47How do, how can we be successful if we do this?
- 18:49You know, what does it take to get the job done though we were
- 18:52motivated and excited to finally get this thing off the back burner.
- 18:55And you know, a lot of folks, , basically the same mentality we have at the tractor.
- 19:00Just like send it, just, just do it and see what happens.
- 19:02And if it works, it'll build itself and just kind of go from there.
- 19:06One piece of advice we were given is that since we were still writing, and
- 19:10we still do not as much as we used to, but we still do, was try to transition
- 19:16your audience, try to stick to what you know, and then go from there.
- 19:20And we did that for the first season, which the first season's
- 19:22kind of short and part of season two.
- 19:24And at that time, one.
- 19:27My really close friends, uh, his name is Matthew.
- 19:30I always viewed him as like kind of my crazy uncle, older brother.
- 19:33He was also close with my family and with my dad, and so we go way back.
- 19:37I mean, I met him when I was super young and he kind of fit an age bracket between
- 19:41me and my dad too, which was interesting.
- 19:42So Matthew was always like, yeah, you should do this.
- 19:45You really should.
- 19:46You should get, you should get people on here and talk to them
- 19:48because he goes, you know what?
- 19:50Motorsports is a sport of con.
- 19:52Not necessarily of loyalty.
- 19:55I said, that's a really interesting outlook, but he's not wrong because
- 19:58people will get into, you know, hobbyist motor sports if they're not
- 20:01on the Pro-am level for about three to four years, and then they disappear.
- 20:05And suddenly all those stories you were, you heard a hundred times.
- 20:09And Pat used to tell the story about Bob, Bob would talk about this.
- 20:12And then you turn around and you're like, wait, I'm the
- 20:14only one left in the paddock.
- 20:15Like this is really bizarre.
- 20:17And it just happens almost organically that they're here today, gone.
- 20:21And so, you know, Matt kept saying, you gotta capture these stories,
- 20:24you gotta capture these stories.
- 20:26And I'm like, or he used to actually say, everyone has a story, right?
- 20:29And I'm like, oh, okay.
- 20:31And it never really dawned me.
- 20:33So the first two seasons, you know, I'm apologetic for them, like everybody is.
- 20:36When they kick off a new venture, it's like, we're still
- 20:38trying to find our ground.
- 20:39The microphones are terrible, we're doing it on the cheap,
- 20:42just trying to find our way.
- 20:45And then, He's so, he was suffering from double kidney failure.
- 20:52We had done some things in the past also to raise money, you know, got him on
- 20:55the kidney donor list, did some charity racing, all sorts of stuff for him.
- 20:58And then just like that, he was gone.
- 21:02And that happened, uh, 2021 between Thanksgiving and Christmas.
- 21:08And then not even a couple weeks later, my mother-in-law tr.
- 21:12Suddenly passed away as well.
- 21:14And so we were faced with this, you know, double death in the
- 21:16family, you know, and it was just like, oh my God, what do we do?
- 21:19And you know, in the advent of all that middle of winter in 2022, I'm
- 21:26sitting there, it's cold as all get out.
- 21:28It's snowing.
- 21:29I'm actually working on some episodes and I'm just like, I,
- 21:32I had this wave come over me.
- 21:34I'm like, I just can't do this right now.
- 21:35I just, I'm not in the mood, you know, you get that in that
- 21:38funk and you're just like, Ugh.
- 21:39You know?
- 21:40Oh yeah.
- 21:40You kind of feel almost like the depression.
- 21:43creeping up on you and you're like, I, I gotta get outta here.
- 21:45I gotta clear my head.
- 21:46So I went down to the garage and I'm, you know, looking at the race
- 21:49cars and, you know, it's like, oh, let me go turn some wrenches.
- 21:52You know, that's, I always find that kind of cathartic just to start
- 21:54working on something cuz I can lose my thoughts and, you know, rewiring
- 21:58something or modifying something.
- 22:00And as I'm, I'm actually just, I didn't even wanna do that.
- 22:04I was just like, Ugh, I'm just so not motivated.
- 22:06So I started cleaning up the garage and then I noticed this stack of.
- 22:10Post-its, and I'm like, I kept hearing kind of Matt's
- 22:14voice in the back of my head.
- 22:16Everyone has a story every, you know, and I think every car has a
- 22:18story cuz I'm looking at the cars and I'm like, everyone, every car,
- 22:22sorry, I wrote it on a sharp with a sharpie on the, on the card.
- 22:26Every car has a story.
- 22:28And I was like, that just doesn't work for me.
- 22:30So just as a joke to myself, I did what my English teachers would normally do is take
- 22:34a another red marker and scratch it out.
- 22:37, everyone has a story.
- 22:39Then I just started kind of laying it randomly in the garage in different
- 22:43spots and taking pictures, and the first two pictures I took are with my dad's
- 22:47last race car, longtime project car.
- 22:50It's been in the family since I was about five years old.
- 22:53And you know, I'm working on it myself and all this kind of thing,
- 22:56and I just kind of laid it there and I looked at it and I just got
- 22:59overwhelmed, like, you know, just, it was, it was, it was heartbreaking.
- 23:02Right.
- 23:03And the picture you see now today, you know, a couple seasons later of the
- 23:08show's cover art is actually the second picture I took sitting across the steering
- 23:13column with the gauges in the background.
- 23:15And you'll notice the, the lanyard, uh, the, for the keys of the car are there.
- 23:20And I didn't even plan that.
- 23:21Like everybody's like, I have such a staged picture and it's not, I
- 23:24just randomly dropped the Post-it there and I took the picture
- 23:28of it and I was like, that's.
- 23:30, that's, that's where we're going.
- 23:32That's where we're taking this message.
- 23:34We're gonna try to reach as many different people in different corners of this
- 23:39industry to get their stories out there.
- 23:41And that's where you see this sudden drastic change in Break Fix podcast,
- 23:45where it went from sort of, you know, club related and articley and things
- 23:50like that into this world of living history and everything that we're doing.
- 23:54Well, and if you go to your website, you will see on the very front page,
- 23:58you'll see a bunch of people that are carrying a little sign that says,
- 24:03every car crossed out one has a story.
- 24:08Which is a really, a really cool idea cuz you're getting all kinds of people that
- 24:12guy's gonna, yeah, that's a race car.
- 24:14Uh, , I know that much.
- 24:17So there's a lot of, uh, uh, it's a great tagline.
- 24:21It's, it's a great idea and everybody does have a story, and that's right.
- 24:25Yours, yours is around automobiles, by the way, I wanted to ask you before we got too
- 24:29far, um, do you feel comfortable telling us what your, what your dad's name was?
- 24:35Y yeah.
- 24:36So he went by ni.
- 24:39Okay.
- 24:39And, uh, and he passed away, what?
- 24:43Eight years ago, by the way.
- 24:44I'm sorry for your loss, . Uh, it would've been 2010, so
- 24:47almost 13 years ago in March.
- 24:50Yeah.
- 24:50I lost my dad in, uh, 2006, um, and stuff.
- 24:55And, and, you know, we lose, we lose people.
- 24:59As matter of fact, I just, a friend of mine that, uh, I drove a bus.
- 25:05put on, uh, Facebook in December that, uh, he'd been diagnosed as, uh,
- 25:09with a terminal, something or other.
- 25:11He didn't say what?
- 25:12And he died yesterday.
- 25:14Oh, no.
- 25:14So you just don't know when it's gonna happen to you.
- 25:18So you've got to, um, do the best you can to put it out there and put
- 25:23everything, put it all out there.
- 25:25Yeah.
- 25:26Yeah.
- 25:26Absolut.
- 25:27So congratulations on what you're doing, . Thank you.
- 25:31And, and, you know, and, and it's more than just the show too.
- 25:34Like I said, we try to also put on charity events.
- 25:36We've done things in honor of Matthew for the National Kidney Foundation.
- 25:40We did a golf tournament to raise money that we did that
- 25:42actually while he was still alive.
- 25:44But we've also done things in organized with folks like the American Cancer
- 25:48Society and raised a whole bunch of.
- 25:50Uh, it was last year and donated that in honor of my dad and other people that,
- 25:54that we know that have died of cancer.
- 25:56We've done lupus.
- 25:57Brad's mom actually passed away from lupus when he was really, really young.
- 26:01Now obviously there's been tons of advances in, in medicine and
- 26:04science where lupus is a little bit more controllable than it was.
- 26:07So all of us on the team have lost somebody, especially
- 26:10somebody really important to us.
- 26:11So it's really important.
- 26:12You know, not only do we educate, but we also try to do some fundraising and
- 26:16we try to give back to the community.
- 26:18And, and it's really been an interesting experience to link up with folks like
- 26:23the a c s or with Lupus or with N K F and bring them to, let's say, a track event.
- 26:28Um, a c s was super excited.
- 26:30They're like, we're gonna do a, you know, light the night track walk sort of thing.
- 26:34We'd never done that before, especially out in Jefferson County, West Virginia.
- 26:37We did it at Summit Point.
- 26:38They were so gracious to host us.
- 26:39It was, it was amazing.
- 26:40And so, it, it, it was really popular and they're excited to do it again,
- 26:45and we hope that we can organize that.
- 26:46It's been always kind of tough to, you know, set those things
- 26:49up scheduling wise and whatnot.
- 26:50But, you know, we want to do more things like that.
- 26:53We want to be more involved and get people excited about, you know, our world, the
- 26:57motorsports and vehicle world and, and.
- 27:00how they can, I guess, grow out maybe their experience.
- 27:03Because again, to your point, everybody has a story.
- 27:05We've all got that story about, oh, my first car in high school,
- 27:08my first date I met my wife.
- 27:10But it all, it all plays together, right?
- 27:12Because in some ways it involves a car.
- 27:14So I, I, I just think it's fascinating how it all ties together.
- 27:19Yep.
- 27:19I'm so old that, uh, my first car was a Plymouth Fury, three, um, 3 83 in
- 27:26underneath the hood, and it was 1967.
- 27:29Um, my, my apologies, . No, I'm just kidding.
- 27:32, those are great cars in today's standards cuz you could do so much with it.
- 27:35But that's a, that's a story for another day, but, uh, it, it is indeed.
- 27:39So, you know, it's interesting because everything that has happened to you, . It
- 27:45is kind of, in my opinion, it's kind of by design and it's gotten you to
- 27:49where you are today and, and, uh, e even losing your dad, I, I still, I
- 27:55believe that he is still around you.
- 27:58Mm-hmm.
- 27:58and, and is, uh, and is very proud of what you're doing.
- 28:01And, uh, especially the, uh, the charity work and the things that you're doing.
- 28:06How do you get out to see all these people?
- 28:09Where, where do all these people come from?
- 28:12You know, it, it's sort of interesting, the, the internet is
- 28:16a blessing and a curse sometimes.
- 28:19And so being in being able to sit down with folks and talk to them in a relaxed
- 28:24environment has been really easy.
- 28:26Post covid or even during Covid cuz everybody was used to calling
- 28:29up their grandkids or their, their siblings or whatever via Zoom.
- 28:33And so that's how we do it.
- 28:34And so we schedule with them.
- 28:36They come on.
- 28:36Some people we've done live in person cuz they're local.
- 28:39Or we've done them at events, we'll go to races as part of the Press Corps and sit
- 28:44down with folks and interview them there.
- 28:46It's been fantastic.
- 28:47So it's a lot of, you know, scheduling, it's a lot of coordination, but at the end
- 28:52we do a majority of it virtually, so that that opens us up to anybody in the world.
- 28:57We've had folks as far as Spain and Portugal, Portugal, come on the show and
- 29:02I mean, there are a lot of people centered here in the United States, but we're open
- 29:05to anybody, you know, as far as we can.
- 29:07You know, it's, it's interesting that you bring that up cuz I just,
- 29:11I have always wanted to, because I'm a podcaster and I've been doing
- 29:14this for, um, for a while now.
- 29:16Um, I could probably pass myself off as being a press guy and, uh, and get into
- 29:23some of the, uh, press conferences and stuff of like, I'm a Seattle Seahawk fan.
- 29:29Um, and maybe I could get into one of their Did.
- 29:33Is that what you did?
- 29:34Because you are, it's.
- 29:37Yeah, it's a game.
- 29:38It's a game changer.
- 29:39And so we were very fortunate to meet in some really circuitous
- 29:44ways, a couple different PR people, um, just to name a few.
- 29:48Cindy Miel, who works with Chris Bright from Collector Part Exchange,
- 29:51and Don Weber from Garage Style.
- 29:52She's hooked us up with a lot of other people because it, it's sort
- 29:55of like this Kevin Bacon game and there was one guest that took us
- 29:59almost a year to get on the show.
- 30:01And, you know, just persistence pays off and.
- 30:03They mentioned somebody and then we research them and then we connect and it
- 30:06just, you know, spirals outta control.
- 30:08And then on the other side, we did an episode with Rob Holland, who's
- 30:12a, from Rotech Racing, who is part of the World Challenge series, an
- 30:16episode about diversity and how he's working with the World Challenge Racing
- 30:19organization to, you know, bring more people in from different backgrounds and
- 30:23things like that, and his experiences in the Herberg ring and whatnot.
- 30:28I just happened to be on LinkedIn one day and I made a post writing
- 30:31on top of something that he said, and it got the attention of the
- 30:34press officer over a real challenge.
- 30:36And I got this phone call and man did I think I was in trouble.
- 30:38I was like, oh boy, I did something totally wrong and.
- 30:42. Lo and behold, it was actually a really great thing.
- 30:45They're like, Hey, you know, we don't have the bandwidth to do this sort of thing.
- 30:48Are you willing to come on board and, you know, come work with our guys and meet
- 30:52the drivers and the teams and you know, we'll make introductions for you guys.
- 30:55And then you do, you know, you do what you need to do.
- 30:57And so sometimes you fall backwards into it and sometimes it comes to you.
- 31:01Right?
- 31:01So it's, it's been an interesting ride and.
- 31:04We're always looking to connect the dots.
- 31:06I mean, especially if someone comes on the show and they name drop
- 31:09somebody, I, I'm making a note now.
- 31:10I'm not, I'm not trying to specifically target, but I'm like trying to see,
- 31:14trying to build this almost mental map of how the community is tied
- 31:18together and it becomes really small.
- 31:20After a while you start to notice like who knows who, uh, in especially
- 31:24in the motor sports side of the.
- 31:26I imagine in the MO because it is fairly specific, uh, the motor
- 31:32sports side, um, of, of just life.
- 31:35Cuz there are people like me.
- 31:36I, I mean I've never been to a NASCAR race in my life or, or any, any really,
- 31:41any, any car race or anything like that.
- 31:43It's just, It isn't been my wheelhouse, but, uh, but for somebody who likes that
- 31:48stuff, my, my brother used to before he passed away, you know, it can, have
- 31:52you noticed by the way, that a lot of people are passing away right now?
- 31:56Yeah.
- 31:56It's, it's, we're sort of on that cusp, right?
- 31:59. There's a certain age group that's, that's phasing out right now.
- 32:02I, I, yeah, I guess.
- 32:04And, uh, , I have an associate, this is, um, that, uh, works with me on positive
- 32:09talk and she says, you know, , what are we gonna do if you go and die?
- 32:15It's like, I'm not gonna die.
- 32:17And then she'll point out, well, you know, you are 65 and she's a funeral director.
- 32:22And so she she sees a lot of people my age that are going, going away.
- 32:26So, uh, but she, but you gotta keep going.
- 32:29You gotta keep doing Exactly.
- 32:31And, and know, and I love what you do with.
- 32:35Celebrating people and having them on your show and stuff,
- 32:38and especially older folks.
- 32:40Mm-hmm.
- 32:41that I, I did something called, um, family Legacies and I wa I wanted to
- 32:48interview older folks, like somebody's dad or their grandfather, something
- 32:54that, that was in their eighties or nineties and or late seventies, eighties
- 32:58and nineties, because I wanted them, I wanted their, , I wanted their, their
- 33:03story to be able to go to the family and to follow, follow the family as what
- 33:09they, you know, so that they're grandkids and their great grandkids and stuff.
- 33:14And, um, I think we need more of that.
- 33:17We need to celebrate that.
- 33:19And I've been approached by several people who support the show too.
- 33:22And they're, they're just like, you need to interview so-and-so,
- 33:24you need to interview this person.
- 33:26And I'm just like, scribbling names down.
- 33:27And I'm like, okay, well if you have a connection, you know, gladly.
- 33:30I'm never gonna say no because that's one less sort of idea I have to
- 33:33come up with is I need to interview.
- 33:35You know, whoever.
- 33:36One of them recently came out, we pre-release this episode.
- 33:39It's gonna come out a little bit later in the year on the main
- 33:42server, but you can get it over.
- 33:44Exotic Car Marketplace today.
- 33:46I was approached by one of our supporters and he goes, you really
- 33:48need to interview Bob Garrett.
- 33:50And I'm like the, the name sort of rings a bell, but I'm not putting it together.
- 33:54Had you said, you know, Brian Redman and Bobby raha and some others
- 33:58and I would've like, oh, okay.
- 34:00So we have a new co-host that's come on who's working with me specifically
- 34:04on the golden era of sports car racing.
- 34:06So these are all the pro drivers from the seventies through the early nineties.
- 34:10Folks like Bob Garrettson and Bobby Ray Hall and Brian Redman and others.
- 34:14And tho they all happened to be teammates, by the way, at one point.
- 34:18So this is a little behind the scenes.
- 34:21I'm scouring the internet.
- 34:23I'm trying to look up Bob's story because I do a lot of research on my guests.
- 34:27I, when I interview them, I want to ask more intimate questions.
- 34:31I, we always start out the same, right?
- 34:32Who, what, where, why?
- 34:33Tell me how you got into cars.
- 34:35Did you come from a racing family?
- 34:36Did it start as a kid?
- 34:37Did you come into it later in life?
- 34:39Because I want them to build that.
- 34:41I want them to build that foundation so that people understand that you don't.
- 34:45You're not just a car person, you blossom as a car person.
- 34:49You evolve through that, right?
- 34:50And then maybe you found your way as a driver.
- 34:53You found your way as a designer cause we've had those folks on,
- 34:56or you're an artist or whatever.
- 34:57But there's always this pivot point, something that sparked that interest
- 35:00in, in cars, whatever it was.
- 35:02Maybe the one that drove by your house every day, or the first
- 35:04one you saw at the racetrack.
- 35:06So that said, I'm scouring the internet looking for information on Bob Garretson.
- 35:11and I'm, I'm coming up with nothing.
- 35:12I'm just turning up dirt, no potatoes, right?
- 35:15And I'm like, this is crazy.
- 35:16So I, I reach out to my friends up at the International Motor Racing
- 35:20Research Center in Watkins Glen, and I said, Hey, I'm having a hard time.
- 35:24Is there anything in the archives about Bob?
- 35:28and Josh Ashby, one of the researchers there, awesome guy.
- 35:31He hooked me up.
- 35:32He's like, hi, here's the photos we have, here's the racing results.
- 35:35Here's everything we've got on Bob, including a, a short article that we
- 35:38wrote up on him, you know, many years ago.
- 35:41I'm like, all right, cool.
- 35:41This at least gives me something to go on.
- 35:44But it, it was information that wasn't necessarily publicly accessible.
- 35:48and still I'm sort of like, who is this guy?
- 35:50I'm, I'm still not putting it together cuz he was only in a handful of races.
- 35:53And I'm like, this is just, why, why is it so important that we interview him?
- 35:57So again, I have my new co-host on Mike Carr and we're talking, you know, the
- 36:02old days of racing and this and that and Bob's just kind of going along and
- 36:06his story, he's 90 years old, right?
- 36:08And I'm.
- 36:10and we're both looking at each other cuz he's on the phone so he can't see us.
- 36:13And we're kind of like, what is going on?
- 36:16Like, who is this guy?
- 36:17Where is this story going?
- 36:18Because again, we don't have a lot to build on and
- 36:21suddenly it all comes together.
- 36:24And he mentions, he starts on this path, on this tangent about Steve
- 36:27Jobs and, and we wasniak and we're.
- 36:32, you know, just, just puzzled face and he's continuing to talk and
- 36:35this and that, and he's building up to this crescendo of the story.
- 36:38And then I see Mike's jaw hit the floor and the my light bulb went off and
- 36:43we went, oh my God, this is the guy who owned and raced the famous, even
- 36:51if you're not a car person, the Apple computer, Porsche . And it's like, it's
- 36:58one of the most famous cars like ever.
- 37:00And you're just, Whoa.
- 37:02And it just completely changed the whole latitude.
- 37:04And then it's like it all collapsed and we were able to really kind of,
- 37:07you know, put the whole thing together.
- 37:09And so it's, it's moments like that when you're in the middle of a story
- 37:13and a, and a guest takes you on this journey and you're like, whoa.
- 37:16And it's happened.
- 37:17Even when you kind of know what's coming, you're like, I didn't expect it
- 37:20to be that intense or that much detail.
- 37:23And hearing it again straight from the source is just so.
- 37:27. It's a wonderful thing that, uh, that you get to do.
- 37:31How often do you drop a podcast?
- 37:33Every Tuesday is the regular, and then sometimes, because our
- 37:36backlog is a little large, we will drop extra episodes on a Thursday.
- 37:40That usually either correspond with the primary guest or some sort of linkage.
- 37:44Two, we've done themed weeks as well where we did one all about.
- 37:48Um, oval racing, or we did one all about Formula One, so we put
- 37:52a bunch of episodes together and released them at the same time.
- 37:55Um, our, our backlog's a little long, so there's, there's a
- 37:57lot more episodes to come.
- 38:01, , well, I, your opinion would be great and greatly appreciated.
- 38:05I do, uh, anywhere from five to 10 podcasts a week.
- 38:10Is that too many?
- 38:11. God bless you, . You know, it's, it's not too different than
- 38:16what Mark Green does on cars.
- 38:18Yeah.
- 38:18And we did a crossover with him.
- 38:20He was on our show, which is pretty rare.
- 38:22He goes on anybody else's show anymore.
- 38:24He's also based in the Seattle area.
- 38:26So we went on, on his show and, you know, he's five days a week and he's
- 38:30got, you know, a couple thousand guests and I'm just like, good night.
- 38:34You know, we'd, we'd love to get there.
- 38:35I mean, if we could.
- 38:36Even a fraction as good as as you are and as as he is and, and all that.
- 38:40I mean, it's, it's gonna be tremendous.
- 38:43But, you know, we try to not replicate what Mark's doing or what
- 38:47some of the other shows are doing.
- 38:49So part of the point now that we've really bought, we've brought the yellow
- 38:53card to the table, as we like to call it internally, that everyone has a
- 38:56story idea, is that these are stories that are designed to inspire others.
- 39:02Yes.
- 39:03Yes.
- 39:03And they.
- 39:04. Yeah.
- 39:04And, and it's not about celebrity either.
- 39:07There are people that are, you know, turning wrenches, you know, amateur
- 39:11racers, or maybe they're part of a pit crew or you know, they're aspiring racers
- 39:15or something like that, or, or whatever.
- 39:17Classic car collectors.
- 39:18It doesn't matter.
- 39:20, we want to tell your story because there's other people out there wondering, how do
- 39:24I become, you know, uh, bill Warner who founded Amelia Island, that Backstory's
- 39:29really interesting why he suddenly, you know, went from journalists to starting
- 39:33one of the most popular Concords.
- 39:35In the United States, you know, second to Pebble and, and some others.
- 39:39And then you have folks like, uh, Samantha Zimmerman, right?
- 39:42An up and coming artist.
- 39:43She specializes in the golden era of sports, car racing, beautiful artwork.
- 39:47And then there's folks like Chris Dunlop who grew up in, in the DC area,
- 39:50another artist that now finds himself in California working alongside of, you know,
- 39:55chip fuss and all these other people.
- 39:56It's just, it's amazing the journeys that our lives take.
- 40:01The reluctance we have sometimes to share them with other people, because even
- 40:05if we can connect the dots, maybe it helps change that person's trajectory.
- 40:10Like, oh, if I did this thing and then maybe I can jump over
- 40:13here and do that other thing.
- 40:14What are the alternatives to what Chris did or what Samantha did, or, or whoever.
- 40:19Oh, I couldn't agree more.
- 40:20And you know, and the one thing that I get really enjoy is that
- 40:25I can have a conversation with somebody who you won't know.
- 40:28Uh, they're, they're not famous.
- 40:30Um, they may be an author and they've got a great book out, or they may be
- 40:34what They're doing something to better the planet, to better each other.
- 40:38And they may not be famous.
- 40:39They're in their, in their own little world.
- 40:41They may be, but, but I enjoy those people because, . I think they're every
- 40:47bit as entertaining as famous people are.
- 40:51Yep.
- 40:52Well, they're human.
- 40:52Doesn't, we all put our pants on the same way, right?
- 40:55Doesn't matter.
- 40:56, you know, put every adjective description in there that you want.
- 40:59And so the stories are the most important.
- 41:01Again, going back to the idea of links in a chain, right?
- 41:03As we're all connected in some way, and that's where you.
- 41:06Even when you kind of look at the folks that we've had on and
- 41:09the mind map that we're building, they're all related to one another.
- 41:12This person knows that person and worked with that person or raced with them,
- 41:15or that person captured them on film.
- 41:18You know, there's these multiple dimensions to all these stories
- 41:21and it just, it, it paints a very beautiful mosaic at the end of the day.
- 41:26Hence also why we have all those pictures with people holding the
- 41:29yellow cards, cuz we want it to turn into this gigantic just, you know,
- 41:33piece of art at the end of the day.
- 41:35That's brilliant.
- 41:35By the.
- 41:36They call that, they call that marketing and nicheing down and,
- 41:39and, uh, all that kind of stuff.
- 41:41So you, you, you, you do really good.
- 41:44Now let's, I wanna make sure we get the information out for people to find you.
- 41:47You.
- 41:48So how do they do that?
- 41:49Yeah, so our main website is www.grandtouringmotorsports.org.
- 41:55G, or I'm sorry, www gt motorsports.org.
- 41:59Our all of our social handles are at Grand Touring motorsports.
- 42:03There's no D in that, so it's sort of the European way to do it, G
- 42:06R A n Touring Motorsports, and from the main site, it sort of
- 42:11branches off into different pieces.
- 42:13That's where you'll find most of.
- 42:15Upfront media, the written articles, the podcast episodes, all the follow
- 42:19on content transcription, all the projects that we're working on and
- 42:22other websites we affiliate with.
- 42:24We even do web design and things like that.
- 42:26From there, you can actually branch off and venture into
- 42:29what we call the clubhouse.
- 42:31So the clubhouse is where our members still live and thrive and we continue
- 42:34to ebb and flow that part of, of gtm.
- 42:37And then there's a couple other pieces, things that we started.
- 42:39We have this really cool track site assistant.
- 42:41We call it Paddock Pal.
- 42:42Paddock pal.com.
- 42:44And then we also started a couple years ago, something also to be educational and
- 42:49be proactive and more in the industry.
- 42:52The National Motorsport Safety Association, or what we call nimsa
- 42:56for short, and you can find that.
- 42:57Under motorsports safety.com.
- 43:00We're always looking for people to contribute that and help that out.
- 43:03That's really trying to standardize how we approach the idea of safety across all
- 43:07the different motor sports disciplines, and that's a big kind of pet project
- 43:10for Brad and I that we've been, you know, slowly working on over the years.
- 43:14in terms of the show, we're available on all your favorite music streaming and,
- 43:18you know, pod catch or apps out there.
- 43:19All you have to do is search for break fix or break slash fix or
- 43:24Graham touring, g r a n touring, and we'll come up pretty much everywhere.
- 43:28Um, all the majors and then even some of the ones you're not thinking about.
- 43:31So if you're listening in India or you're listening, you know,
- 43:34we're, we're top rated in Somalia this week, so it's all good.
- 43:37We're, we're everywhere.
- 43:40Which is really in encouraging and exciting for a lot of podcasters
- 43:44because I'm told 90% of podcasts fail or they quit or, and they, and they
- 43:50give up after, you know, 10, 20, 30 episodes because their mother, their
- 43:53brother, and their aunt Lucille was listening and that's all they get.
- 43:57Yeah.
- 43:57Um, so it takes time.
- 43:59We are closing in on 200 published.
- 44:02Our mentors keep telling us, keep going, keep going, keep going because
- 44:05the strong will continue to stand.
- 44:07That's pretty much how it works.
- 44:08It's like survival of the fittest to your point.
- 44:10Yeah.
- 44:1030 to 50 episodes.
- 44:11I know a lot of people that just celebrated their 50th episode.
- 44:14Congratulations to.
- 44:16A few of them that have been on our show as well.
- 44:18Um, we're looking to, you know, help mentor them along as well and
- 44:21say, Hey, we made a lot of mistakes.
- 44:23Here's how you can try to avoid them.
- 44:25The podcaster community is actually quite strong.
- 44:28I ac I also lead an ACLU over on Patreon, which is how we crowdfund the show itself.
- 44:34So you can find us there, patreon.com/gt motorsports if you're
- 44:37interested in supporting the show.
- 44:39But you know, there's a lot of folks.
- 44:42going right into that idea that you were just saying where
- 44:44it's like they're struggling.
- 44:45They're, they're on that edge of do I continue, do I not?
- 44:49And what I tell people all the time is, you are, especially in the
- 44:54conversation and interview style, you're inspiring other people.
- 44:57You're sharing those stories and that's really important.
- 44:59And you have access to people that others don't.
- 45:02And so keep up that good work.
- 45:04Keep inspiring other people to learn about other folks' history and how
- 45:09maybe it can change their lives for the.
- 45:12Absolutely.
- 45:13And if you wanna go to positive talk radio.net, you can go there too.
- 45:16With, you are going to be, do you know what episode you are?
- 45:19I, I dunno.
- 45:20401.
- 45:22Oh, it's always good to be first in something.
- 45:25It is . And by the way, we've been talking to, uh, crew Chief.
- 45:30Eric and go again.
- 45:31And I'm glad you gave all the information.
- 45:33Um, I'll have you do it one more time so that everybody can,
- 45:36who is trying to write it down.
- 45:37Can, can get it, get it done.
- 45:39My apologies.
- 45:40I talk really fast.
- 45:42Well that's, that's quite alright.
- 45:44So do it one more time for everybody.
- 45:46That's right.
- 45:47So our main website is www.gt.
- 45:50Motor sports with an s.org G.
- 45:54You can follow us on all social media platforms except for Twitter
- 45:58at Grand Touring Motorsports, all one word on Twitter.
- 46:01We are GT Motorsports 14, and we're also crowdsourced with extra exclusive
- 46:07bonus and behind the scenes content on Patreon patreon.com/gt Motorsports.
- 46:13I am impressed you weren't even writing any of that down Very nicely.
- 46:16Done.
- 46:17Very nicely.
- 46:18So I might have done it a couple of times.
- 46:21. Well, and that's the thing, is you gotta get out, you gotta talk to other people,
- 46:24other podcasts, and touch other audiences.
- 46:27If you want to know more about automobiles and what they do and how
- 46:31they work, I have a key somewhere here, and if you turn in the key, it works.
- 46:36If you don't call somebody, I would call you.
- 46:38And, but, so, but if you wanna learn, if you want, if you're a
- 46:42motorhead or a, what did you call it?
- 46:44A diesel?
- 46:44Uh, no, a uh, a petrol.
- 46:46Petro head, then go to his podcast, you'll, you'll really enjoy it.
- 46:50And it's been a pleasure having you here.
- 46:52And if I knew anything about cars, I'd love to be on your.
- 46:55That's, well, you know, if we, if there's a story, we're happy to tell it.
- 46:58So maybe we can come up with something.
- 47:00Oh, I've, uh, I've got a story for you.
- 47:04I tell you , and don't forget to subscribe.
- 47:08Like, and, and smash that like button too, right?
