- 0:00Hello friends! Welcome back to Wonderfully Made,
- 0:04Bible Stories for Children. I'm so glad you're
- 0:08here. In our last episode, we met Gideon, a man
- 0:13who felt weak but learned that with God's help,
- 0:16he could be strong and brave. Today, we'll hear
- 0:21about another man who was known for his incredible
- 0:25strength. so strong he could fight lions and
- 0:29lift heavy gates. But he sometimes forgot that
- 0:32his power came from God. Are you ready? Let's
- 0:37jump in. Before Samson was born, an angel appeared
- 0:52to his mother and told her she would have a special
- 0:56son. He would be set apart for God's work and
- 1:00would begin to save Israel from its enemies,
- 1:03the Philistines. The angel said he should never
- 1:07cut his hair. This was part of a promise between
- 1:11Samson and God, called a vow. As Samson grew,
- 1:16God blessed him with amazing strength. He could
- 1:19tear a lion apart with his bare hands and win
- 1:23battles against many men all by himself. For
- 1:27many years, Samson fought the Philistines and
- 1:30did great things. But Samson had a weakness,
- 1:34he didn't always make wise choices. One day,
- 1:39he fell in love with a woman named Delilah. The
- 1:43Philistine rulers saw this as their chance to
- 1:46trap him. They went to Delilah and told her to
- 1:50find out the secret of Samson's strength for
- 1:53a reward. Delilah then asked Samson to tell her
- 1:57the secret. Samson didn't tell her the truth.
- 2:01Instead, he said, If anyone binds me with seven
- 2:06fresh bowstrings, I'll become as weak as any
- 2:10other man. That night, while Samson slept, Delilah
- 2:15tied him up with bowstrings and made an alarm.
- 2:18The Philistines are here. But Samson snapped
- 2:22the bowstrings easily. Delilah tried again. She
- 2:27said. You're making fun of me. Tell me the real
- 2:32secret. Samson told her that if anyone tied him
- 2:37with new ropes, he'd be weak. She tied him with
- 2:41new ropes, but again. He broke free. Delilah
- 2:45didn't give up. You don't love me. Tell me the
- 2:50truth. Samson said. If you weave the seven braids
- 2:57of my hair into a loom, I'll be weak. She did,
- 3:01but again, Samson escaped. Finally, Delilah kept
- 3:06asking and asking until Samson was tired of it.
- 3:10He told her the truth. that if his hair was cut,
- 3:14he would lose his strength. While Samson slept,
- 3:19Delilah had someone cut his hair. Then she made
- 3:23an alarm. The Philistines are here. This time,
- 3:28Samson's strength was gone. The Philistines captured
- 3:32him, blinded him, and took him to prison. Years
- 3:37later, during a great feast in a Philistine temple,
- 3:41Samson prayed one last prayer. He asked the Lord
- 3:45for strength just once more. God answered, and
- 3:50Samson pushed against the pillars of the temple.
- 3:53The building fell, defeating many of the Philistines.
- 4:03Samson's story reminds us that our gifts and
- 4:06talents come from God, and we must use them to
- 4:09honor Him. not ourselves. Let's think about a
- 4:14few things together. Have you ever forgotten
- 4:18that something you're good at is really a gift
- 4:21from God? How can you use your talents to serve
- 4:26Him today? Thank you for joining me today to
- 4:31hear about Samson's rise and fall. Next time
- 4:35on Wonderfully Made, we'll begin the story of
- 4:38Ruth. a woman who stayed faithful even when life
- 4:42was hard. Until then, remember, you are wonderfully
- 4:47made. Bye for now.
