- 3:42Speaker 2: Hey, good evening, Good evening, and welcome to let the
- 3:45Speaker 2: healing begin. We are your hosts, Apostles and Kimberly Thomas.
- 3:51Speaker 2: We are so grateful that you have joined us here tonight.
- 3:55Speaker 2: We endeavor to give you an open, honest conversation dealing
- 3:59Speaker 2: with marriage and all the things that it encompasses. As
- 4:04Speaker 2: a disclaimer, we do not claim to have mastered this
- 4:09Speaker 2: thing called marriage, nor do we have the monopoly on marriage. Well,
- 4:14Speaker 2: one thing that we do have is we have a
- 4:16Speaker 2: marriage We have experience, we have time, and most of all,
- 4:21Speaker 2: we have a mandate from the Lord to share what
- 4:25Speaker 2: we have endeavored and what we have noticed in marriages
- 4:30Speaker 2: through our journey as a married couple and as those
- 4:34Speaker 2: that counsel those who are preparing for marriage and who
- 4:38Speaker 2: are married. So tonight we are here to let the
- 4:43Speaker 2: healing begin. So we're gonna get started tonight. If you
- 4:47Speaker 2: joined us last week, one of the things that we
- 4:51Speaker 2: talked about last week was the fact that marriage is
- 4:56Speaker 2: not attacked from the outside. First, it comes from within,
- 5:03Speaker 2: and it happens because of weaken weaken and avoidance. Avoidance
- 5:11Speaker 2: weakens our marriages because we do not want to confront matters.
- 5:19Speaker 2: So anytime we avoid being healed, it weakens the marriage.
- 5:24Speaker 2: So just know that marriages aren't attacked first from the outside,
- 5:29Speaker 2: They come from within. Attacks come from within. So we're
- 5:33Speaker 2: gonna get started tonight. We're going to jump back in.
- 5:36Speaker 2: Last week, we talked about this. We talked about the
- 5:40Speaker 2: fact that there are so many different things, so many
- 5:43Speaker 2: different aspects to this, the unresolved conflicts, the unresolved hurts,
- 5:50Speaker 2: we talked about unmet needs. We talked about a lot
- 5:53Speaker 2: of stuff last week. So we're gonna get back into
- 5:56Speaker 2: this because this was truly a hot topic and we
- 5:59Speaker 2: are want to get started tonight. We are going to
- 6:02Speaker 2: jump in and talk about the fact that there is
- 6:07Speaker 2: instability in some of our marriages because of failure to
- 6:13Speaker 2: express our feelings.
- 6:16Speaker 8: Oh yes, it's a lot of failure because we tend
- 6:19Speaker 8: to hold on to what we think well destroy what
- 6:24Speaker 8: we're trying to build. And that's the beginning of the
- 6:28Speaker 8: end of a relationship, and it starts killing the healing
- 6:35Speaker 8: because when we enter into a relationship, which is be wholeheartedly,
- 6:41Speaker 8: one hundred truthful, and if you're going to be truthful
- 6:45Speaker 8: first of all, first and foremost, you should be truthful
- 6:48Speaker 8: to yourself, you know, because if you start off telling
- 6:51Speaker 8: a lie, you're got to continue telling lies. You know,
- 6:55Speaker 8: you can't start a relationship thinking that you know, well,
- 6:58Speaker 8: I better not say this because I want them to
- 7:00Speaker 8: feel this way or that way. And in essence, if
- 7:04Speaker 8: they don't know, you're lying, you're cheating, and you're holding back,
- 7:08Speaker 8: and you're not being fair to them or yourself.
- 7:11Speaker 2: Yes, that is so true, because one of the things
- 7:15Speaker 2: that I have noticed is the fact that many times
- 7:19Speaker 2: we assume that our partners know our true feeling, they
- 7:24Speaker 2: know how we feel, they know what's going on with us.
- 7:27Speaker 2: We even assume that they know us. But the real deal,
- 7:31Speaker 2: the nitty gritty, the hard truth, the naked truth, is
- 7:36Speaker 2: they don't. They don't. And the reason why is because
- 7:40Speaker 2: we never took the time when we were dating or
- 7:43Speaker 2: getting together to really get to know each other. We
- 7:46Speaker 2: just wanted to get right down to business and get
- 7:49Speaker 2: busy with it, and there was no conversation. There was
- 7:53Speaker 2: no conversation, and so it takes communication, and many times
- 7:59Speaker 2: in our relationships. Starting out in relationships, people fail to communicate,
- 8:05Speaker 2: They fail to communicate because you know, they're looking at
- 8:09Speaker 2: the fact that you know, you may be a three B.
- 8:13Speaker 2: You got breast, booty and brains, and that's all they
- 8:16Speaker 2: that's all they thinking about. Then I think about anything else.
- 8:20Speaker 2: That's that's it. It's no communication. It's just like, okay,
- 8:24Speaker 2: here we are, let's hook up. And for a lot
- 8:28Speaker 2: of people right now, you know, just talking to young
- 8:32Speaker 2: people right now, a lot of people are not even
- 8:35Speaker 2: into relationships. They're not into that. They just want to
- 8:39Speaker 2: hook up, and so there's definitely no communication in there.
- 8:44Speaker 8: Well, I mean, I've talked to several young men and
- 8:48Speaker 8: you know it's hit it and quitted. But when I
- 8:51Speaker 8: spoke to the young women, it was the same thing.
- 8:54Speaker 8: You know, I see what I like, I'm gonna get
- 8:56Speaker 8: what I want. And then after that, I'm gonna ghost you.
- 9:00Speaker 8: And I was like, wow, you're gonna ghost them? What
- 9:02Speaker 8: you mean? Oh, I'm done with that. So you know,
- 9:05Speaker 8: it's not like when we started out. You know, the
- 9:08Speaker 8: man chased the woman, and the woman if she wanted
- 9:11Speaker 8: to be chased, she just dropped the nugget here and there.
- 9:14Speaker 8: Now it's just like, what's up, we're doing this? It's
- 9:17Speaker 8: old wed I'm holler at you, oh, and then let
- 9:19Speaker 8: me tell you, boy, I want to get at it.
- 9:21Speaker 8: And I was like, you know, really kind of flowed
- 9:23Speaker 8: for a minute, but I had to really listen to
- 9:26Speaker 8: what they had to say because they were being real
- 9:28Speaker 8: and how they feel and the things that they have
- 9:31Speaker 8: seen throughout their life, that short life, I should say,
- 9:35Speaker 8: of coming into what you call adulthood. And when I
- 9:40Speaker 8: spoke to them on the level where I was at,
- 9:44Speaker 8: they was like, well you old though, and I was like, oh, okay,
- 9:48Speaker 8: so therefore every day you're not getting older. But yet
- 9:52Speaker 8: when you get older, you don't have a man your age.
- 9:56Speaker 8: You want to a man my age, because now you're
- 9:58Speaker 8: looking for a stability.
- 10:01Speaker 2: Daddy, and you know that's something. There are lots of
- 10:08Speaker 2: those that are happening. But the thing is, we are
- 10:12Speaker 2: missing the tightest two women. The We're missing the women
- 10:17Speaker 2: that teach you know how to be chasing and how
- 10:23Speaker 2: to really keep yourself so that you would be fit
- 10:30Speaker 2: for the king that God has for you. The Bible
- 10:33Speaker 2: tells us that he who findeth the wife find it's
- 10:37Speaker 2: a good thing.
- 10:40Speaker 8: With the Lord.
- 10:41Speaker 2: So it's not about running behind anybody or chasing anybody
- 10:45Speaker 2: but you know, I heard a wise woman, and I'm
- 10:49Speaker 2: I'm gonna say wise because she is very wise in
- 10:54Speaker 2: her years. And there was one thing that she told
- 10:57Speaker 2: me about some things that you know, some women they're
- 11:03Speaker 2: looking for a fireman, and I was like a fireman.
- 11:07Speaker 2: I was kind of lost, y'all. Sometimes I'm just sometimes
- 11:11Speaker 2: my age show up. I may not look it, but
- 11:14Speaker 2: it shows up because when they say certain things, I'm like,
- 11:17Speaker 2: what does that mean? But she went on to explain
- 11:21Speaker 2: to me that many women are not looking for a commitment,
- 11:25Speaker 2: they're not looking to settle down. They just want a fireman.
- 11:30Speaker 2: They want somebody to put the fire out and be
- 11:34Speaker 2: on this way. And so that's what we have to understand.
- 11:38Speaker 2: We're missing a lot of the older women that were
- 11:44Speaker 2: there to teach us, to teach my generation. We're missing
- 11:48Speaker 2: those because when you look at the family dynamic, you're
- 11:52Speaker 2: looking at grandmas who are maybe thirty years old. Maybe
- 12:01Speaker 2: then you're looking at great grandma's that maybe forty five,
- 12:04Speaker 2: you know, so it's starting out younger and we're missing
- 12:09Speaker 2: we're missing those wise women. We're missing those tightest two women,
- 12:13Speaker 2: the women that would tell a young girl, look, you
- 12:16Speaker 2: don't wear a white dress without having a slip on.
- 12:18Speaker 2: You know those type of women. You don't chase a man.
- 12:22Speaker 2: You let a man chase you those things.
- 12:24Speaker 8: Now, when you said something about that slip, I heard
- 12:27Speaker 8: one time you were asked, what's that? And I'm looking like,
- 12:34Speaker 8: you don't know what the slip is? But you know, hey,
- 12:37Speaker 8: the day in times because a lot of times our
- 12:41Speaker 8: children or our youth are being taught about the things
- 12:46Speaker 8: in which they see. I was watching television the other
- 12:49Speaker 8: day and there was a man and a woman on there,
- 12:52Speaker 8: and she really wanted to get with the guy, but
- 12:53Speaker 8: she wanted to make sure her de order was straight,
- 12:55Speaker 8: she said, And I got to put this on so
- 12:57Speaker 8: maybe I can hook that baddie over there. So she
- 13:00Speaker 8: bought him a drink, so you going after him. I'm like, oh,
- 13:03Speaker 8: they got the game twisted. It's all backwards. But nothing
- 13:07Speaker 8: for that. We know about that crazy And let's talk
- 13:09Speaker 8: about healing for a senior citizens. You know what I'm saying,
- 13:18Speaker 8: because that's where we're at right now. You know, you
- 13:20Speaker 8: can put your comments in, but what I'm saying is
- 13:22Speaker 8: simply this right here. What about some of the men
- 13:26Speaker 8: that's been out there and they chased a woman, and
- 13:31Speaker 8: they had women to chase them, and you know for
- 13:35Speaker 8: a fact that she want to be with you, so you,
- 13:38Speaker 8: like like a vacuum cleaning, you suck on her drive
- 13:41Speaker 8: for everything you can get so you can get with
- 13:43Speaker 8: this other one that really don't really want you because
- 13:47Speaker 8: she sucking you dry to get everything she can get
- 13:49Speaker 8: out of you so she can get with him. Let's
- 13:51Speaker 8: talk about that right there.
- 13:54Speaker 2: There's a lot of that happening. And you know, one
- 13:57Speaker 2: of the things that I really think is there is
- 14:02Speaker 2: a lot of instability in relationships because you see the
- 14:10Speaker 2: outer appearance many people and it comes from lack of communication.
- 14:15Speaker 2: Because you'll look at an outer appearance of someone and
- 14:19Speaker 2: you will misjudge them because the package is not raped
- 14:24Speaker 2: pretty and it doesn't have this glittery wrapping paper. The
- 14:30Speaker 2: bowls not tied correctly. It may be a little shabby
- 14:33Speaker 2: tied bowl, look like somebody just learning how to tie
- 14:36Speaker 2: their shoes or something, and you will dismiss it. Many
- 14:39Speaker 2: people that know us have heard our story of how
- 14:46Speaker 2: when Apostle first began to pursue me, I was managing
- 14:52Speaker 2: a convenience store and he would come in and the
- 14:54Speaker 2: work that he did. He would always be dirty and
- 14:57Speaker 2: you know, just talking and I'm looking like this dirty
- 15:00Speaker 2: old man, what go home? And you know, and he
- 15:03Speaker 2: would say. He said to me one day, he was like,
- 15:06Speaker 2: do you know who you're looking at it? And I'm like,
- 15:08Speaker 2: uh no, and he said, girl, are you looking at
- 15:11Speaker 2: your husband? I'm like, what what else? Mister? Go ahead
- 15:15Speaker 2: with your dirty self because I'm not I'm not on that.
- 15:18Speaker 2: But that's what we do. We don't realize that, you know,
- 15:24Speaker 2: God has someone for us because we come with our unrealistic,
- 15:29Speaker 2: oh well, expectations of what the man should look like.
- 15:36Speaker 2: We we want it all together. You know, he needs
- 15:39Speaker 2: to be tall, he needs to be hands we gotta
- 15:43Speaker 2: be buff, he gotta be both that. He got to
- 15:45Speaker 2: be this, He got to be that. We put all
- 15:48Speaker 2: of these stipulations and these false realities out here, and
- 15:53Speaker 2: then when God has sent the one that he has
- 15:58Speaker 2: already ordained us, we dismiss it because it does not
- 16:03Speaker 2: look like what our perception says that this should look like.
- 16:07Speaker 2: We're not even trying to have a conversation. We're not
- 16:10Speaker 2: trying to have no conversation. We're not trying to give
- 16:13Speaker 2: you no kind of indication none whatsoever. Bruh, No, you
- 16:17Speaker 2: are not the one. And I'm not gonna stand here
- 16:20Speaker 2: and try to hold no conversation. What's your name? You
- 16:24Speaker 2: can't even get my name?
- 16:26Speaker 8: So in other words, again you're lying to yourself exactly
- 16:31Speaker 8: because you won't. Mister look so good, smell so nice,
- 16:36Speaker 8: and on a scale from one to ten, he hitting
- 16:41Speaker 8: the whole fifteen, and then that's only in your mindset,
- 16:47Speaker 8: and he got a whole zero going on. Now here's
- 16:50Speaker 8: a man job corp established the home stability. But because
- 16:57Speaker 8: he does this type of work, that's not for you.
- 17:00Speaker 8: But what happens when you get with this man and
- 17:05Speaker 8: you find out it's the total opposite of what you thought.
- 17:10Speaker 2: Sometimes you don't find out because you never give it
- 17:13Speaker 2: a chance. Sometimes you miss the opportunity and you see
- 17:17Speaker 2: him on the love boat with somebody else and you
- 17:20Speaker 2: be looking like, well, dog, you know, and then you
- 17:23Speaker 2: want to give him the time of day because now
- 17:26Speaker 2: you're looking like, oh, you know, bro, he was he tightwork,
- 17:30Speaker 2: he cleaned up well. But now he's moved on. And
- 17:34Speaker 2: so this is the thing. This is where communication comes in.
- 17:38Speaker 2: And what we have to understand is as apostles said,
- 17:43Speaker 2: we gotta first be true to ourselves because we may
- 17:47Speaker 2: not be all of that, we may not look like
- 17:50Speaker 2: all of that, and so we want to put all
- 17:53Speaker 2: these great expectations on somebody else. But then we're not
- 17:57Speaker 2: even thinking about, you know, our own perception. We're not
- 18:01Speaker 2: thinking about you know, how we are portraying ourselves. Sometimes
- 18:05Speaker 2: we can be the prettiest thing in the whole room,
- 18:08Speaker 2: but really be the ugliest because of our attitude in
- 18:11Speaker 2: our disposition.
- 18:13Speaker 8: Okay, I'm glad you went there, because here's the thing.
- 18:18Speaker 8: You want all those things, all these attributes, but are
- 18:22Speaker 8: you willing to give those same attributes. That's where I'm
- 18:27Speaker 8: at with it, you know. Okay, you want all that.
- 18:29Speaker 8: I can supply all that, But why do I have
- 18:32Speaker 8: to bend over backwards to do it? And then once
- 18:35Speaker 8: I do this, why is there no reciprocation? Well?
- 18:42Speaker 2: No, and okay, let me let me let me deal
- 18:47Speaker 2: with it this way.
- 18:47Speaker 8: Yeah, let's do this.
- 18:48Speaker 2: Because there are a lot of women who are in marriages,
- 18:55Speaker 2: and when the man is providing and doing all these things,
- 19:03Speaker 2: that is the expectation of that woman. The expectation is
- 19:07Speaker 2: this is what you're supposed to do. You're supposed to
- 19:10Speaker 2: do all of these things. And when time comes and
- 19:17Speaker 2: something changes, you know, life starts lifing and things begin
- 19:21Speaker 2: to change, and he may not any longer be able
- 19:26Speaker 2: to do those things. Then there becomes a problem. There
- 19:31Speaker 2: becomes a problem because now you want to throw it
- 19:36Speaker 2: out here that you're ahead. You're supposed to be the provider.
- 19:41Speaker 2: You're supposed to take care of me. I'm not supposed
- 19:43Speaker 2: to do this. I'm not supposed to work. You're the provider.
- 19:47Speaker 2: But what we fail to realize is, as you said,
- 19:51Speaker 2: where's the reciprocation. Reciprocation comes from help meet the one
- 19:59Speaker 2: that God created, the woman to be help meet. That
- 20:05Speaker 2: means that I'm supposed to help meet the spiritual, the emotional,
- 20:12Speaker 2: and the physical need of the one that God has
- 20:17Speaker 2: given unto me. I am the help meet. So therefore,
- 20:24Speaker 2: what you are given to me, I'm supposed to be
- 20:28Speaker 2: able to meet your needs in those areas. But so
- 20:33Speaker 2: many times those needs are left unmet because of our
- 20:39Speaker 2: unrealistic expectations. Some women want to be able to sit
- 20:45Speaker 2: home and do nothing, do whatever they want to do,
- 20:48Speaker 2: however they want to do it, and however long they
- 20:51Speaker 2: want to do it. Some women want to be taken
- 20:55Speaker 2: care of fully, you know. They want they don't want
- 20:57Speaker 2: to have to work, they don't want to have to
- 20:59Speaker 2: do any thing. They want a maid, they want all
- 21:02Speaker 2: of these things. But then there are those that are
- 21:06Speaker 2: willing to get up and help. Because when you're sitting
- 21:12Speaker 2: and you're expecting the head to be able to handle
- 21:17Speaker 2: all of these things, and when the load gets heavy
- 21:21Speaker 2: and the ship begins to rock or teeter, if you
- 21:26Speaker 2: don't help, we all falling out. We're all going overboard.
- 21:31Speaker 8: Okay, so we gotta hold it down right, Okay, not
- 21:34Speaker 8: in that because I got some questions. So now that
- 21:39Speaker 8: he's meeting the needs and he's doing all these things,
- 21:42Speaker 8: why is there rejection in the bedroom? Like that's the
- 21:48Speaker 8: if you don't do this, you definitely ain't getting that
- 21:52Speaker 8: deal with that. Okay?
- 22:00Speaker 2: Women, you sex uh huh as a bargaining chip a
- 22:06Speaker 2: lot of times. Yeah, And like you said, if you
- 22:10Speaker 2: don't do this, then you don't do that. You're not
- 22:13Speaker 2: we're not doing this. We're not gonna do this if
- 22:16Speaker 2: you're not doing that. So if you're not able to, uh,
- 22:20Speaker 2: bring the money, put the money here on the table, whatever.
- 22:24Speaker 2: If you're not able to do all of this if
- 22:26Speaker 2: you're not able to, you know, allow me to shop
- 22:30Speaker 2: at NeiMa markets anymore. I can't do that. I can't
- 22:33Speaker 2: drive the bens no more. We had to let the
- 22:34Speaker 2: bens go. I'm now, I'm I'm still driving. But it's
- 22:39Speaker 2: just not a BNS. So you know, if we if
- 22:42Speaker 2: we can't do all of that, then no, the bedroom
- 22:46Speaker 2: action is that's that's just that goes down. But see
- 22:49Speaker 2: that is you that really okay? Let me just let
- 22:52Speaker 2: me just be real because I'm like tap tapping around
- 23:00Speaker 2: what i really want to say because I'm trying to
- 23:02Speaker 2: say it in a nice way. But when you utilize
- 23:08Speaker 2: sex in turn for anything, that's called prostitution, whether you're
- 23:14Speaker 2: in a marriage or not. So therefore, if the man
- 23:17Speaker 2: cannot come in there and lay the money on the
- 23:21Speaker 2: table and the sex is off limits, that's what prostitution.
- 23:24Speaker 2: That's what prostitutes do. If the man, if the John
- 23:28Speaker 2: ain't giving up no money, he not getting no honey.
- 23:31Speaker 2: So that's the same thing, and we have to just
- 23:34Speaker 2: call it what it is. Whether it's in marriage or
- 23:37Speaker 2: whether it's on the street, that's what it is. When
- 23:40Speaker 2: you're using sex as a bargaining chip. That is not
- 23:45Speaker 2: that's not how that's not how marriage is designed. First
- 23:49Speaker 2: of all, if you really want to know how marriage
- 23:51Speaker 2: is designed, that when you become one with your spouse,
- 23:56Speaker 2: whether husband or wife, you belong to them, all of you,
- 24:03Speaker 2: all of you belong to them. The Bible tells us
- 24:06Speaker 2: that we should not give a foothold to the devil.
- 24:10Speaker 2: And that's why so many marriages are messed up because
- 24:14Speaker 2: we don't have sense enough to understand that sex is
- 24:18Speaker 2: not a bargaining chip because you know what, if you
- 24:22Speaker 2: don't do it, because he's not able to do all
- 24:26Speaker 2: of these things. Baby, let me tell you something. I
- 24:28Speaker 2: bet you there's somebody out there that's waiting and he
- 24:32Speaker 2: ain't gonna have to do nothing. Show up, but show up.
- 24:38Speaker 2: That's it, Betty Wright, say, you know we're not leaving.
- 24:41Speaker 8: No room for because you're a woman. I'm sorry.
- 24:44Speaker 2: We're not doing that. We're not doing it. And if
- 24:47Speaker 2: you have to hold it down in your household, that
- 24:50Speaker 2: ain't nobody's business. That ain't nobody's business. Girlfriend, your beff,
- 24:56Speaker 2: your bestie or whatever, that's nobody's business. Because you know what,
- 25:02Speaker 2: you may be mad with him today, and y'all make
- 25:05Speaker 2: up tonight. But you then told Bessie bff and girlfriend
- 25:09Speaker 2: all your business, and now she mad. She beat you,
- 25:13Speaker 2: getting mad because you was mad because what he wasn't doing.
- 25:18Speaker 2: And you know she's getting she giving advice, and she
- 25:21Speaker 2: doing all these things. But when you and your husband
- 25:24Speaker 2: get back together and y'all on good terms, Bestie's still
- 25:28Speaker 2: looking cock out at it because of the simple fact
- 25:32Speaker 2: that oh, yeah, yeah, I oh, I know. You never
- 25:36Speaker 2: give anybody any ammunition against your maid. It's something that
- 25:40Speaker 2: Apostle always says that I'll never give anybody anything to
- 25:44Speaker 2: watch my wife face with. And that's the same thing
- 25:48Speaker 2: that women should be saying about their husbands. I will
- 25:52Speaker 2: never give anybody anything to watch his face with. I
- 25:56Speaker 2: will never make him feel that he is less a man,
- 26:01Speaker 2: regardless of what he can or cannot do. We can't
- 26:06Speaker 2: do that. We can't and and let me just let
- 26:11Speaker 2: me do this because this is just here right now
- 26:14Speaker 2: because of the simple fact that we're talking about the
- 26:18Speaker 2: fact of how marriage is and how sex relates to marriage. Biblically,
- 26:26Speaker 2: the only time that you should refrain from giving yourself
- 26:31Speaker 2: to your spouse, husband or wife is if you have
- 26:36Speaker 2: an understanding and you're fasting m.
- 26:40Speaker 8: So we have to have that communication like that.
- 26:43Speaker 2: Otherwise you don't. You don't give the devil a foothold.
- 26:48Speaker 8: You're not supposed to, but we oftentimes hear that it happens,
- 26:53Speaker 8: and that's that's not biblical. But at the same time,
- 26:58Speaker 8: that's not letting the healing begins, especially when you want
- 27:01Speaker 8: all these different things out of a relationship and you're
- 27:05Speaker 8: not giving all of you in the relationship, you know.
- 27:10Speaker 8: So we've covered the tit for tat far as sex goes,
- 27:16Speaker 8: But how do you get to the point of actually
- 27:20Speaker 8: just telling the whole truth? When do you get there?
- 27:25Speaker 8: You know, because some people are ashamed to tell the
- 27:27Speaker 8: truth because I know when I was with her or
- 27:32Speaker 8: with him before you, he acted this way when I
- 27:36Speaker 8: said this, he did that, when she said that I
- 27:38Speaker 8: did this, he looked at me this way. And the
- 27:41Speaker 8: first thing you do, you look at like, oh, I'm
- 27:43Speaker 8: not going through that no more. I'm not having that now.
- 27:46Speaker 8: It makes one or the other shut down, and you
- 27:50Speaker 8: got that dull moment. Because I love you, I don't
- 27:54Speaker 8: want to lose you, but I really want you to
- 27:56Speaker 8: know this, and I'm hoping and praying that you catch
- 27:58Speaker 8: hold to the vision and you don't.
- 28:04Speaker 2: It takes communication, and really we have to think about
- 28:07Speaker 2: think about everything that we bring into our relationships and
- 28:14Speaker 2: into our marriages, and most of all the inability to trust.
- 28:21Speaker 2: That's that's a big part of it, because you come
- 28:26Speaker 2: in and as you stay that you come in and
- 28:28Speaker 2: you're you're still over here with this person because you
- 28:32Speaker 2: have not fully dropped them. You're you're still carrying them.
- 28:37Speaker 2: So anything that looks remotely like what they did to you,
- 28:43Speaker 2: now your new partner is paying for that, correct and
- 28:49Speaker 2: that's not fair. It's not fair to them to have
- 28:53Speaker 2: to pay for something that they did not do. And
- 28:56Speaker 2: this is the thing, and this is where it's really
- 29:00Speaker 2: it makes you really think about it. This new thing
- 29:03Speaker 2: that everybody well I'm not gonna say everybody because I
- 29:07Speaker 2: wouldn't do this, but the thing that so many people
- 29:13Speaker 2: that are coupled up are doing this tracking business. What
- 29:18Speaker 2: the devil if I got to track you? Baby? You
- 29:21Speaker 2: keep trucking because I'm not tracking nobody. Why are you
- 29:26Speaker 2: tracking people? That means that there's a problem with you.
- 29:31Speaker 2: It's not a problem with them, there's a problem with you.
- 29:34Speaker 2: You have a trust issue. And then you need to
- 29:39Speaker 2: be delivered and you really need to be healed, because
- 29:43Speaker 2: if you got to track somebody that you say that
- 29:46Speaker 2: you're in a relationship with, or you in a marriage with,
- 29:49Speaker 2: you tracking them for one or two reasons, you're insecure,
- 29:54Speaker 2: or you tracking them to keep them from catching you.
- 29:58Speaker 8: Correct, And that's the whole thing. I was talking to
- 30:01Speaker 8: another individual and they asked me and it was kind
- 30:05Speaker 8: of funny at first until I saw it they were
- 30:07Speaker 8: really serious. Because it's not funny. It's not funny. He said, hey, man,
- 30:12Speaker 8: I said, yeah, you know how to get this tractor
- 30:15Speaker 8: off my phone? So do what he said. Yeah. Everywhere
- 30:20Speaker 8: I go, they know where I'm at, what I'm doing,
- 30:23Speaker 8: and sometime they can tell me my conversation. I said, well,
- 30:26Speaker 8: I'm be honest with you, I'm not that savvy with
- 30:29Speaker 8: those phone as far as no tracking, because that's not
- 30:31Speaker 8: that's nothing that I do and that's nothing that's being
- 30:34Speaker 8: done to me. I said, So what you need to
- 30:37Speaker 8: do is leave your phone home or give it back
- 30:41Speaker 8: to them, because there's no trust in the relationship because
- 30:44Speaker 8: if they have to track you, bro either you doing
- 30:48Speaker 8: something or done something that she feels that she can't
- 30:52Speaker 8: trust you, and if she can't trust you, you don't
- 30:55Speaker 8: need to be with hers, and she don't need to
- 30:57Speaker 8: be with you, or she's covering herself so she'll know
- 31:00Speaker 8: exactly where you're at. He said, I never thought about it.
- 31:04Speaker 8: I said, I always play at fifty fifty because it's
- 31:08Speaker 8: your side, it's her side, and then there's the truth.
- 31:13Speaker 8: So therefore, the if you constantly arguing every day about
- 31:16Speaker 8: this type of situation where you at, how long you're
- 31:19Speaker 8: gonna be there where you're going? No, come on now, no,
- 31:22Speaker 8: we ain't got to do that. Especially I'm over twelve
- 31:26Speaker 8: and I'm past twenty one, so I'm fully grown. So
- 31:30Speaker 8: what we have to do is learn to love each
- 31:33Speaker 8: other and trust one another until I have to take
- 31:37Speaker 8: you at your word, until you show me differently, you know.
- 31:42Speaker 8: And he took me with him, and when I knew anything, y'all,
- 31:48Speaker 8: we all three was together, and I had to take
- 31:51Speaker 8: them back where we had been together. I said, good Jesus,
- 31:56Speaker 8: I tell him, I say, And he said, y'all, wats
- 32:01Speaker 8: hold up? I'm not him, not your husband either. I
- 32:04Speaker 8: wouldn't have you here because that's not you know, that's
- 32:07Speaker 8: not being a man to me. You know you got
- 32:10Speaker 8: trust issues and he do too, evidently because he had
- 32:13Speaker 8: to prove that to you. So therefore you ain't grown.
- 32:16Speaker 8: You a puppet, and it's not about that. Let's get
- 32:19Speaker 8: together and just listen. It's got to be a simple
- 32:23Speaker 8: divide sometime, you know, let me miss you a little bit.
- 32:26Speaker 8: I'll be glad to come home, because I've been in
- 32:28Speaker 8: situations where when I got off work, I looked at
- 32:31Speaker 8: the clock and I was like, whoa man, If I
- 32:35Speaker 8: go home now, they gonna be there. Either I will
- 32:37Speaker 8: get off of forty five minutes to an hour earliest,
- 32:40Speaker 8: I'll get miss y'all and be gone. That's a miserable, miserable,
- 32:44Speaker 8: miserable life. Or I just didn't come home till I figure,
- 32:49Speaker 8: oh they sleep. Now, Lord, I tell all of you
- 32:53Speaker 8: out there, don't live like that, because it's not good.
- 32:57Speaker 8: Learn to love yourself better, tell yourself the truth. Look,
- 33:00Speaker 8: it's gonna be this, this, this, this, this is what
- 33:02Speaker 8: I want, this is what I like, this is what
- 33:04Speaker 8: I don't like. And we can go from there and
- 33:06Speaker 8: trust and believe. If they don't hear you or don't
- 33:08Speaker 8: want to take it, you're grown. Get you somewhere to
- 33:13Speaker 8: be yes, you know, because healing starts with loving yourself first. Yes,
- 33:19Speaker 8: telling yourself the truth first. Baby, Look I like this,
- 33:23Speaker 8: and this is what I used to do, and this
- 33:24Speaker 8: is what I was into. And if she loves you,
- 33:28Speaker 8: she goes say, okay, well I ain't into that, but
- 33:30Speaker 8: this is what we need to do because this is
- 33:31Speaker 8: what I'm doing right. And then here's the thing. You
- 33:35Speaker 8: got to trust them enough to know that it's gonna
- 33:38Speaker 8: work out. Because relationships are give and take. It's and
- 33:46Speaker 8: it guessed what now, it ain't always fifty to fifty.
- 33:50Speaker 8: Because I had some friends tell me and say, well,
- 33:52Speaker 8: I'm not doing it. I'm in the head. I said, well,
- 33:55Speaker 8: you know, it's a natural order. Two things. That's God,
- 33:59Speaker 8: Jesus man, then one man. But you know what we
- 34:02Speaker 8: in today's society. And simply because you the head, you
- 34:05Speaker 8: don't always leave because sometimes you'll help me can get
- 34:10Speaker 8: where you can't get. And if you trust her and
- 34:13Speaker 8: she trusts you, she can go and open the door
- 34:16Speaker 8: for you. But you got to have that oneness, not
- 34:21Speaker 8: that dividedness.
- 34:23Speaker 2: Yes, and that is so true, you know, just thinking
- 34:27Speaker 2: about the fact that so many people in relationships they
- 34:32Speaker 2: have no communication. There's no conversation. They don't even know
- 34:37Speaker 2: what each other likes. They don't know what the person's
- 34:41Speaker 2: favorite color is. They don't know what the person likes.
- 34:45Speaker 2: They don't know what's what's their favorite food, what's their
- 34:48Speaker 2: favorite place? Do they like outside activities or are they
- 34:52Speaker 2: a home body? They don't know nothing. All they know
- 34:55Speaker 2: is let's go have sex. And that's not.
- 34:59Speaker 8: Touch like that.
- 35:02Speaker 2: Some of that. But you know, they they don't take
- 35:05Speaker 2: the time to really get to.
- 35:07Speaker 8: Know each other.
- 35:08Speaker 2: You know, you there used to be a thing that
- 35:12Speaker 2: was called according you know, or like the like the
- 35:16Speaker 2: young people used to say back in my day, do
- 35:20Speaker 2: we go together?
- 35:21Speaker 8: Do you? You know?
- 35:25Speaker 2: The little thing they used to make with the paper
- 35:27Speaker 2: where you go with me? Yes or no? You know,
- 35:31Speaker 2: none of that is happening anymore. It's just, you know,
- 35:34Speaker 2: and it's it's not that even people are no longer
- 35:40Speaker 2: they're no longer drawn to a person's intellect or the
- 35:48Speaker 2: fact that they even have anything up here. They're not
- 35:51Speaker 2: drawn to that. They're drawn to appearances. They're drawn to
- 35:55Speaker 2: to their bodies. That that's all that they're drawn to.
- 35:59Speaker 2: You're not wrong to anything. You don't know whether a
- 36:02Speaker 2: person is an airhead. You don't know whether they even
- 36:05Speaker 2: can put a sentence together. You don't know any of that.
- 36:08Speaker 2: And a lot of times they're not even concerned about it.
- 36:11Speaker 2: They're not they're not concerned about it. All they're concerned
- 36:14Speaker 2: about is meeting a physical need. They're looking for a
- 36:17Speaker 2: fireman or a firewoman, and baby, Hey, once the fire
- 36:21Speaker 2: is out, we're good. We don't even have to talk no.
- 36:24Speaker 3: More that that.
- 36:25Speaker 2: That's crazy to me, that's crazy.
- 36:29Speaker 8: You gotta think now, speaking from a man's point of view,
- 36:35Speaker 8: I was one of them, airhead. If she had the
- 36:38Speaker 8: nice biscuits and some nice perkis they bad let me
- 36:42Speaker 8: holler at you. But then in the midst of all
- 36:46Speaker 8: of that, I begin to have a conversation, you know,
- 36:49Speaker 8: and the look didn't go with the body, you know,
- 36:54Speaker 8: And I found out, lady. In life, you can find
- 36:56Speaker 8: some people with all minds and no behind. Then you
- 37:02Speaker 8: can get someone all behind and no mind. It's very
- 37:07Speaker 8: rare that you get both in the same package, and
- 37:10Speaker 8: most of the time when you do, you mess up
- 37:12Speaker 8: being a man, because you know, this here is just
- 37:14Speaker 8: too good to be true. But as I got older,
- 37:19Speaker 8: I realized I needed both of them because they go
- 37:22Speaker 8: hand in hand because you got all behind in no
- 37:25Speaker 8: mind after the relationship and the room is over with.
- 37:28Speaker 8: Where we go from here? Now, if you got all
- 37:31Speaker 8: mind and no behind, you may be a little swifter
- 37:35Speaker 8: than I am. And it's all over with for me
- 37:37Speaker 8: because I can't keep up, you see. So we gotta
- 37:41Speaker 8: get this wonders together. But if it's real, for real,
- 37:45Speaker 8: then I can help you. You can help me, and
- 37:47Speaker 8: we keep each other sharpen in tune.
- 37:51Speaker 2: Y'all. We gotta take a commercial break, So we're gonna
- 37:54Speaker 2: take a commercial break and we're gonna come back because
- 37:57Speaker 2: this is really getting good and gooder. We we just
- 38:02Speaker 2: we we're trying to unpack it tonight.
- 38:04Speaker 5: You know.
- 38:05Speaker 2: We bring so much into relationships and and these are
- 38:09Speaker 2: just real raw truths that people don't want to talk about.
- 38:14Speaker 2: But we're here for it, all right. We'll be back
- 38:16Speaker 2: in just a few moments.
- 39:11Speaker 4: Think think, think.
- 40:04Speaker 2: Hey, y'all would say, hey, hey, so listen, we are
- 40:09Speaker 2: really trying to unpack this, and and we want to
- 40:12Speaker 2: hear from y'all. Y'all put some comments out there are
- 40:14Speaker 2: some of the things that I know we're not the
- 40:16Speaker 2: only people that have noticed these things. In relationships and
- 40:20Speaker 2: in marriages, and you know, these are these are some
- 40:23Speaker 2: of the things that are going on. And like I
- 40:26Speaker 2: said before the break, this is stuff that people don't
- 40:29Speaker 2: want to talk about, you know, especially church people. Church
- 40:33Speaker 2: people don't want to talk about stuff like this. But
- 40:35Speaker 2: this is what this is what is really needed because
- 40:38Speaker 2: we have to train up the younger generation because the
- 40:42Speaker 2: way that they are going now and the things that
- 40:45Speaker 2: we are allowing to teach them, which is social media,
- 40:49Speaker 2: which is you know, you you give your your kid
- 40:52Speaker 2: a phone at a very early age or a tablet
- 40:55Speaker 2: or whatever just to get out the way so that
- 40:58Speaker 2: you can do what you need to do. But we
- 41:01Speaker 2: still need those titles to women to step up to
- 41:04Speaker 2: the place. We need the men of Vailor to show
- 41:06Speaker 2: these men you know, what it really is. And so
- 41:10Speaker 2: this is this is the thing we have to really
- 41:12Speaker 2: think about the fact that sometimes we feel that we
- 41:17Speaker 2: are unheard and unvalued in relationships. That's right, and so
- 41:23Speaker 2: that shuts down a lot of communication because I may
- 41:25Speaker 2: try to tell you how I feel, or I may
- 41:29Speaker 2: try to tell you something that I'm dealing with, but
- 41:33Speaker 2: you know me to be the stronger, Oh you you strong,
- 41:36Speaker 2: you know you kind of brush it off, but you
- 41:39Speaker 2: have to understand that we all have our moments.
- 41:44Speaker 8: But even in your moments, you have to realize something.
- 41:48Speaker 8: Me and and women, you have to still play in
- 41:51Speaker 8: your strengths. When I was pursuing you, you stood on
- 41:57Speaker 8: solid ground. You didn't allow your self to curve in
- 42:01Speaker 8: and just bow down because you know that's my man
- 42:04Speaker 8: or that's my woman. No, let's have a conversation, seecause
- 42:07Speaker 8: when you let your guards down too far, then you
- 42:11Speaker 8: start to be treated that way. People treat you how
- 42:15Speaker 8: you allow them to treat you. Now, we started off
- 42:17Speaker 8: talking and you had time to talk to me. You
- 42:19Speaker 8: had time to spend time with me. You were concerned
- 42:22Speaker 8: about my feelings and not my paintings are my drawers.
- 42:25Speaker 8: Then we were good. But after you received what you
- 42:28Speaker 8: were looking for, then that became nulling. Boy, But that
- 42:32Speaker 8: was simply because you allowed yourself to fall into that category. See,
- 42:38Speaker 8: I always wanted to talk, I always wanted to be
- 42:41Speaker 8: with you. But whenever you stop allowing yourself to be
- 42:44Speaker 8: warned or needed, then you know what, then I'm going
- 42:47Speaker 8: somewhere because you're not showing me that same interest.
- 42:50Speaker 2: Wow, that's something you know you. You said a whole
- 42:56Speaker 2: lot right then, because one thing that it's very true
- 43:03Speaker 2: is the fact that when we are getting together, we
- 43:10Speaker 2: tend to show that side of us, you know, that independence,
- 43:14Speaker 2: that strong will and all of that. But then there
- 43:18Speaker 2: comes points in our life where once we have kind
- 43:23Speaker 2: of gotten in there, or we we feel like, you know,
- 43:27Speaker 2: we got we got it on lock, we've locked this down.
- 43:30Speaker 2: Now we step back and we begin to digress instead
- 43:36Speaker 2: of progressing, and so we we allow ourselves to.
- 43:41Speaker 8: Lose our selves correct and and and that's not his fault,
- 43:48Speaker 8: that's not her fault. That's your fault as an individual.
- 43:52Speaker 8: Because I was with a guy and we talked. We talked,
- 43:57Speaker 8: and he was truly upset because his female friend told
- 44:03Speaker 8: him he couldn't go get into bed. I said, okay,
- 44:07Speaker 8: he said, I don't believe that because my other girl
- 44:11Speaker 8: it was cool. I said, But see, that's the difference
- 44:13Speaker 8: between a girl and a woman, because she had boundaries. Now,
- 44:18Speaker 8: you didn't been to work all day long. You just
- 44:20Speaker 8: set over there and ate. There's a bathroom in there,
- 44:22Speaker 8: go take a bath, don't just go fall in my bed,
- 44:25Speaker 8: I said, But the other one allowed it. That's the difference.
- 44:28Speaker 8: In the caliber of women, because you know what, you're
- 44:30Speaker 8: gonna be getting a little dirty behind in my bed.
- 44:33Speaker 8: I said, you got to think about that. Come on, brouh,
- 44:36Speaker 8: you know, give what you want. You know, you want
- 44:39Speaker 8: her to smell a nice and looks so pretty and
- 44:41Speaker 8: so good. And then yeah, she came in and smelled
- 44:44Speaker 8: like a buck barrel or oh my Jesus, wait a minute, baby,
- 44:47Speaker 8: hold up, you know, I said, that's the same thing.
- 44:51Speaker 8: Give what you want, you know, and then if she
- 44:54Speaker 8: allowed you to do that. Now, if y'all was married,
- 44:57Speaker 8: that's one thing you tired, I said. But you know what,
- 44:59Speaker 8: even in your tie, no, no, go get your man,
- 45:02Speaker 8: get yourself together, because there would be no way that
- 45:06Speaker 8: you would do these things when you first met her.
- 45:09Speaker 8: I tied yours. You wouldn't got fresh. And I sat
- 45:11Speaker 8: on your car, talked and went to sleep. But I
- 45:13Speaker 8: was good. Don't allow your standards to go down, yes,
- 45:19Speaker 8: because if that's what happens, and then all a sudden
- 45:21Speaker 8: you start to see somebody that why heat clean up,
- 45:23Speaker 8: y'all work together, then why you do it? So it's you.
- 45:28Speaker 8: You have to demand your respect because if you give
- 45:32Speaker 8: it away. Listen, God gives you everything you need. God
- 45:37Speaker 8: gives you your gifts and you and you only can
- 45:41Speaker 8: give it away.
- 45:42Speaker 2: Yes, and the thing that we have to realize is
- 45:46Speaker 2: that we are We are two that became one, but
- 45:50Speaker 2: we're still individual. Yes, we still have our feelings, we
- 45:54Speaker 2: still have our independent desires, we still have our independent
- 45:59Speaker 2: life and dislikes. So you gotta think about it. There
- 46:03Speaker 2: are things that you like that your spouse does not like.
- 46:07Speaker 2: And a lot of times what really begins to deteriorate marriages. Now,
- 46:12Speaker 2: remember we're talking about the fact that the attack does
- 46:17Speaker 2: not come from the outside, it comes from inside. And
- 46:20Speaker 2: so what really begins to deteriorate that is because you
- 46:24Speaker 2: become a yes partner and you continue to want to
- 46:28Speaker 2: go alone to get along. Sometimes you just have to
- 46:32Speaker 2: say no, he liked byina, sa, I don't eat that. No,
- 46:36Speaker 2: I don't want that. No he'll eat peanut butter and jelly.
- 46:40Speaker 3: I don't want that.
- 46:41Speaker 2: I don't want chicken every day. I don't want I
- 46:43Speaker 2: don't want that. You have to understand that you have
- 46:50Speaker 2: a voice. You have a voice, and you don't have
- 46:54Speaker 2: to go along to get along. But the thing is
- 46:57Speaker 2: you you don't have to be domineering and nasty. But
- 47:01Speaker 2: you can just say, listen, I don't like that. He
- 47:04Speaker 2: may like to watch things on television that I don't like.
- 47:07Speaker 2: I don't like that. I don't like that. I don't
- 47:10Speaker 2: want to do that. And you have to learn how
- 47:13Speaker 2: to compromise, how to come together, find something that you
- 47:18Speaker 2: both like to do together and do that, and then
- 47:22Speaker 2: in your time apart, do the things that you like
- 47:25Speaker 2: to do. As an individual. You cannot be a clone
- 47:30Speaker 2: to your maid. You are not a clone, y'all were not.
- 47:33Speaker 2: You're not sign these twins. You have a different you
- 47:37Speaker 2: have a different opinion of things. You're not always gonna
- 47:41Speaker 2: see things out of eye, so you you can't always
- 47:44Speaker 2: be yes yes, yes, yes.
- 47:47Speaker 8: Yes, no no no, no, that's good no, because here's
- 47:52Speaker 8: the thing. It's okay to be a part. Yes we're one,
- 47:57Speaker 8: but we can do things differently. You know, it's okay.
- 48:02Speaker 8: You know how many times have you actually said and
- 48:05Speaker 8: you might have said it and didn't think about what
- 48:07Speaker 8: you were saying, but you said, you know, if I
- 48:10Speaker 8: gotta go, I go by myself. And then the moment
- 48:14Speaker 8: that you have to go by yourself, you mad all
- 48:16Speaker 8: by yourself, and you mad at your mate because they
- 48:18Speaker 8: didn't go. Yeah, we're together ninety nine percent of the time.
- 48:21Speaker 8: But the day I don't want to go, and don't
- 48:23Speaker 8: get mad because I decided to say I.
- 48:24Speaker 7: Don't want to go.
- 48:25Speaker 8: I don't want to go over there today. I want
- 48:27Speaker 8: to lay it right there on the couch and jesz chill.
- 48:30Speaker 8: You go ahead, And now, well, why don't say why
- 48:33Speaker 8: if I told you no, it's just no. Don't try
- 48:36Speaker 8: to force me to do something that I don't want
- 48:38Speaker 8: to do. And then when I get into it with you,
- 48:40Speaker 8: now I'm looking like a star puss because I really
- 48:43Speaker 8: don't want to be here. And then look how you
- 48:46Speaker 8: was looking. You made me feel something. No, you made
- 48:50Speaker 8: hey you feel some kind of way because you forced
- 48:54Speaker 8: me to go. But at the same time, I allowed
- 48:58Speaker 8: this to happen because I could have just said no,
- 48:59Speaker 8: that you manager just mad. But then ask yourself, really,
- 49:02Speaker 8: why are you mad? We're outside of these twins. I'm
- 49:06Speaker 8: right here. I didn't want to go there from the
- 49:09Speaker 8: get go one you knew this, so why I forced
- 49:13Speaker 8: this on me? But at the same time, now, don't
- 49:15Speaker 8: start one thing and then all of a sudden you
- 49:17Speaker 8: want to get out of it now because the same
- 49:19Speaker 8: thing it took to get them, that's what it takes
- 49:21Speaker 8: to keep them. So if you don't like going these
- 49:24Speaker 8: places and you're just doing it to be with them,
- 49:26Speaker 8: don't do it, because that's what they're looking for. So therefore,
- 49:28Speaker 8: at the beginning of the situation, you done told a lie. Wow.
- 49:33Speaker 2: Wow, Hey, y'all.
- 49:37Speaker 3: Remember truth, it's no one true is the.
- 49:50Speaker 2: Open honesty is what it takes.
- 50:01Speaker 8: To be.
- 50:09Speaker 2: We'll destroy the house and h m hm mm hmm,
- 50:26Speaker 2: WoT to learn how to let the healing begin from the.
- 50:40Speaker 8: End.
- 50:42Speaker 1: M hm.
- 50:45Speaker 8: So let's.
- 50:47Speaker 2: We'll be back on the third Sunday in this month,
- 50:51Speaker 2: So come back and join us. The third Sunday, I
- 50:55Speaker 2: believe the date is the the third Sunday, and this mother,
- 51:04Speaker 2: I think it is the fifteenth. I think that is

- 51:13Speaker 2: we hope that something that we have said here tonight
- 51:17Speaker 2: will help you on your journey as you begin to
