Before you go, don't forget to follow the podcast and leave us a review. It really helps the show grow. Come hang out with us on Instagram at at chasing them magic pod. And if you have theories, questions or Disney drama we should talk about, email us at chasing them magic pod at gmail.com. Thanks for listening and we'll see you next time as we keep chasing the magic. Ta ta for now. Hey everyone, I'm Laura. And I'm Lindy. Grab your Mickey ears. It's time to chase the magic. Lindee: Not really, I'm being dramatic. Jess & Dan: Is that when you were sick? Yeah. What? Lindee: Yeah, I had COVID. Mm-hmm. Yep. Jess & Dan: Wow, wrong kind of retro. Chasing The Magic: I know, right? Six years after the fact. Lindee: I know, was like, it's still a thing? They told me I was like what? Yeah, so it felt like flu though for me and I, yeah, I was just dead for four days, so. But. Chasing The Magic: It's time for making memories and dreaming like daddies. Jess & Dan: man. That's the second time we've been around that Lindy's almost died. Lindee: Hahaha Chasing The Magic: Let's not chance it at the wedding. Let's all make sure we're all, you know, or one of you two is gonna have to step in for matron of honor. Jess & Dan: Then, I'll you later. Daniel's ready. Lindee: about. me out in the sun. Chasing The Magic: You weren't out in the sun and you got COVID. Lindee: We're blaming the victim here. Jess & Dan: ⁓ Lindee: No, I really don't know how I got it. mean... Jess & Dan: Bye! Chasing The Magic: Blah. Jess & Dan: I mean, it's airborne. It happens to the best part. Lindee: Yeah, no telling, no telling, but... Chasing The Magic: Yeah. And I haven't like heard of anyone else from that weekend being like having it. So who knows? Lindee: Well, that's good. Cause I was like, man, I was around a lot of people. feel bad. So yeah. Chasing The Magic: Yeah. Jess & Dan: Makes me regret all those lollipops we shared. Lindee: What else? Definitely. Chasing The Magic: can't do that. Lindee: It's so good. Yeah, Laura was like, this week at Star Wars. I was like, wait, what? No, it's not. We haven't done our. Jess & Dan: So, we're all like, okay. Chasing The Magic: ⁓ yeah, I forgot. We haven't done this. Jess & Dan: Thank Yeah, I've listened to some of them, but not all of them. I've been listening. So we're too crazy. So I've been listening to Project Hail Mary, the audio book on repeat, because my brain can't comprehend anything else right now. I need something that I have heard so I don't have to really listen. I just need to hear it. Chasing The Magic: Jessica, have you been listening to the Star Wars? Mm. ⁓ Mm-hmm. Yeah, I still haven't read that one. Jess & Dan: ⁓ it's really good. I highly suggest the audio book. Chasing The Magic: Alright, well... Lindee: feel like we really need to make this available for everyone's pleasure. Chasing The Magic: Pleasures It might be it might be ⁓ my gosh ⁓ Jess & Dan: Is that a COVID something? No, it's not. Chasing The Magic: Well... Jess & Dan: If this is supposed to be Star Wars, we are grossly unprepared. Chasing The Magic: Well, so are we, because we didn't watch it. But what I'm saying is I know y'all had issues with our early Star Wars because we were confused and we had like very bad, you know, we weren't like the biggest offense. I think you would like the newer Star Wars. Lindee: be too. Jess & Dan: Yes. Yes, I think what I've listened to, I'm like, okay, we're getting it. Lindee: You Chasing The Magic: You Yeah, so. Lindee: consider myself somewhat of a fan. I think more than Laura. Chasing The Magic: Eee yes. That is for sure. Jess & Dan: I'm also excited about the marvel of it all. Chasing The Magic: The Marvel, I feel like, is doing good. Lindee: Are we getting a lot of listens on that one? Or on this? Chasing The Magic: No more than... usual. All right, well, ⁓ who has Dreamlight Valley updates? Anybody? Anybody? Since we have our Dreamlight Valley expert. Lindee: Just probably has more than I do, but I can start. ⁓ I can't remember when the spring floating festival started. Has it been two weeks already? Jess & Dan: Go for it. A week and half, two weeks, but all the puzzles are out. Lindee: Yes, yes. As of like what? Monday? Yeah. I finally jumped on and started all that. And I've been hearing a lot of like talk about the springy bamboo and people are having a hard time getting it. I mean, it's the same thing with the other stuff, though. You just have to like log on enough to Jess & Dan: Yeah, Monday at night. Who's counting, whatever. Yeah. ⁓ Lindee: Or keep it on while you go do other stuff and it'll automatically. ⁓ OK, that's what it is. Jess & Dan: Well, the critters can't pick it up this time. That's a bummer. But you only have to collect 20, so you only have to log on a few times. Lindee: Yeah, yeah, it's not that bad. Yeah, I mean, it's fine, you know. Jess & Dan: And I still don't have all my tools. I have like the watering can and like a shovel. I think he's still in the plaza. Lindee: ⁓ no. Hey, we got to start somewhere, right? ⁓ Jess & Dan: Yes. Lindee: now there's like let's see what else about the floating festival I think we have another like week or so to do that and Jess & Dan: Mm-hmm. Lindee: Let's see what else is going on. I have not done the star path like basically at all. I think I've claimed like two rewards so far. it's yeah, it's I'm not playing as much for sure right now. Jess & Dan: well. It's a busy time. have, got everything to the house. I have to finish my routine duties the last two to get the house. ⁓ How are we feeling about the bonus, not the bonus rewards, do call it? The like retro-tastic things. Lindee: Okay. Chasing The Magic: I like those because I don't do, I haven't done everything, so I get some old rewards, which is nice. Lindee: and Jess & Dan: That's cool. Yeah, I haven't gotten anything too mind blowing, but I pretty much have everything from the Scrooge shop and, but I didn't start doing star paths until like a year in. So ⁓ hopefully they'll bring back some older stuff that I've never seen before. So that'll be exciting. Lindee: Yeah, I like the concept. Yeah. Yeah, I think there's only like what 20 days on that one. It's a yeah. And then I saw they posted a couple of teasers lately. Like Jess & Dan: Mm-hmm. Yeah. ⁓ yeah, I need to go check my mailbox for the crack in the door or whatever. ⁓ Lindee: Yes. Supposedly once you finish all of your Pocahontas stuff, there's a little, you're supposed to get something in your inbox. ⁓ And then they were teasing some, well, I mean, we kind of, know it already, but the, re-shared the, ⁓ goodness, there's music there. They re-shared the content roadmap for summer of, or for summer. Jess & Dan: Mm-hmm. ⁓ Yes. ⁓ Lindee: with like, you know, Hercules sandals and Phil's little statue thing. So we know that's coming probably shortly after this star path concludes. Jess & Dan: Yeah. you Yep, I think it'll be fun. Lindee: Yeah, yeah, I'm excited to see what they do with Hercules. Jess & Dan: I really like. Chasing The Magic: I am too. I hope we get Meg. Lindee: I feel like do we? Jess & Dan: That would be cool. don't know if it's in the stars this time. Chasing The Magic: sad. Lindee: Maybe not this time, but eventually I'm sure. Do we know or do we, sorry. Jess & Dan: They've been really cool stuff in the premium shop. The storm clouds have been very cool. And there were like, was like a swirling asteroid thing that was really cool. So they're doing some interesting things with premium shop items. And there was another like evolving tool that came through. haven't bought either one of them because I don't care. Lindee: I can't afford anything. Jess & Dan: there was another evolving tools that looks pretty neat. Lindee: Is it, you think the artist in the shop this week? Jess & Dan: I think the storm clouds were for sure this week. The other tool, I don't remember if it was a shovel or pickaxe, but it had like, I think it might've been this week because it had like stormy vibes as well. Lindee: I really need to be just saving up all of my moonstone for the next star path though because like I said, have not been playing, have not been simpining those dream snaps. I'm so annoyed with them. Jess & Dan: Yeah. Lindee: I just wish there was another way to get moonstone besides the dreamstone. Jess & Dan: Yeah. Yep. And now you can't even like spam it with the right things because it's all voting, which I get like there's a cool egalitarian thing, but like if you're willing to put forth the effort, you should at least be rewarded some. Lindee: Mm-hmm. Right. Yeah. I know I haven't even had the. I don't know. I just don't want do it. But what else? Am I missing anything? Jess & Dan: Yeah. All right. Chasing The Magic: I haven't opened it in probably two or three weeks. Jess & Dan: Ha Lindee: Yeah, that was me until Sunday. Chasing The Magic: It's a s- Jess & Dan: ⁓ do you think about Olaf's exhibition? Lindee: Mm-hmm. Chasing The Magic: Yeah. Lindee: ⁓ yeah, I like it. doesn't like it. Everybody's mad that they didn't feed the critters before now. Jess & Dan: What? I know. I'm still missing. Still missing one of them. Who am I missing? No, I got the Calico Rabbit. Cause it's like Mondays at 10 AM or something. Chasing The Magic: Yes! Lindee: And I'm like, as soon as you lose, suck out. a rabbit or a... Chasing The Magic: That's the one I'm missing, I'm so mad. Lindee: Okay. Chasing The Magic: And I have a job. Lindee: I didn't want to say it. Bye. Jess & Dan: Yeah, the other one I'm missing is like a Tuesday daytime one, maybe the black turtle? I don't remember, but I'm missing like a couple of critters from the main valley and a handful from the DLCs. So I'm like, come on, man. Lindee: Mmm. They need to make it to where you can like jump on for your friends and feed their critters. That would be helpful. Jess & Dan: Yeah, well, that's what dreams need to be about, right? ⁓ Chasing The Magic: and our little, what's it called? Our little cohort thingy. What's it called? Dream Team, yeah. Lindee: or dream tea? Jess & Dan: Yeah. And slash or they should have like rotating schedules. So it's not like, yeah, because people have jobs. And so if you, if you work a traditional nine to five, you might never get like half the critters. Lindee: Mm-hmm. Yeah. I feel like they have sort of lightened up on the schedules a little bit, but some of them, sounds like they're still pretty, you're like, you get the morning of Tuesday and then you're, mean, that's it. Jess & Dan: Mm-hmm. So, thank you. Yeah, I'm hoping that with the next update, they'll jumble those schedules a little bit. Lindee: you Jess & Dan: Like even if it's just like, okay, so Mondays during the day, also like Thursdays from 8pm to midnight, just like something completely opposite those hours. So if you're dedicated, you can make it happen. Chasing The Magic: Mm-hmm. Lindee: Mm-hmm. Yeah. I think they want people to be able to, you know, I mean. Chasing The Magic: Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Jess & Dan: Yeah. to buy into the whole exhibition because you can't get all the things. How infuriating is that? Lindee: they want them to be able to do. Yeah. Thanks. Chasing The Magic: Well, any other Dreamlight Valley updates? Jess & Dan: it. Chasing The Magic: think that's it. Jess & Dan: Daniel? I'm just trying to out how what Olaf exposit I mean, it's sort of like, sounds like Olaf in a trench coat. He's exposing himself. He's not an exhibitionist. Similar to the museum in Animal Crossing where you bring like one of Lindee: Not that I can think of. No. Yeah. Chasing The Magic: hahahahah Yes, yes it is. Yes it is. Jess & Dan: Very cool. I'll get there someday. As soon as you find that pickaxe. little. ⁓ Lindee: Is Lindsay still playing? Jess & Dan: A little I'm still the main player in the house. Yeah Jessica does like the Frozo slide thing everywhere. Oh yeah. Chasing The Magic: Yeah. Lindee: ⁓ yeah, yeah. Chasing The Magic: Mm-hmm. I like the gliders. Lindee: when you're not riding your horses. Jess & Dan: I almost never ride the horses. I used to love them so much. I just forget that they're a thing. I'm not against it. Well, at one point, didn't you figure out like you were doing something where you like jam the horse in the corner so that it would give treats or something and Oh, if you're mining with a horse, you have to put like a light fixture next to the rock. Otherwise, the animation is so slow. It's like kick kick. Lindee: Yeah, yeah, same. I haven't. Mm-hmm. I wish they Jess & Dan: kick but then if you put a light there and you're hitting the like interact with the light post at the same time as the rock then you can be like kick it kick it kick it it's fast. Chasing The Magic: Hehehehehe Lindee: Yeah, I wish they would fix that too. Maybe they will in the summer. Jess & Dan: Yeah, for real. And I'm working, I guess I can't officially give you a tour of it, but I'm working on creating a floating island for storage. So I'm pretty excited about that. I already had a floating island farm, but I think I'm going to add all my storage. So I got my flowers done, I'm moving everything else out of my house onto the floating island. Because then I don't have to load all the different rooms when I want to go drop off all my stuff. Chasing The Magic: Ooh. Mm-hmm. True. Lindee: I still don't know. A way to I'm not sure like the best way or like maybe there's not a best way. Maybe it's just whatever way you prefer, but I don't know. I think I just need to stop because I, got like really like hyper focused on like decorating the room to match the like the vibe like the flower room like her and like all the natural like stuff had like ⁓ Jess & Dan: Yeah. you Thank Mm-hmm. Lindee: trellises and like stuff like that. And now I'm like, okay, but these chests are kind of small and like I need, if I had, if I had more chests or well, no, if I had bigger ones that held more than I wouldn't need as many and we wouldn't be in this situation, but. Jess & Dan: You're not going it. You're not going to You're not going to it. Yeah. Yeah, you should go on YouTube and look at some of the like storage floating islands. Like people have like whole greenhouses built on an island and they just walk through and it looks beautiful and flowery and they've got like all their chads. It's, it's, ⁓ it's whatever Instagram does for normal people. YouTube does that for me and Dreamlike Valley. Lindee: What am I doing? Okay, I'm gonna have to braid her hair. So I'm just gonna put my phone down. Chasing The Magic: Okay. Jess & Dan: you. Lindee: No. Yeah, but that, mean, at this point that would require me spending so much more time on the game that I really have the energy for right now, so. Jess & Dan: Thank for sure. Lindee: Maybe I'll, maybe it'll happen down the road and I'll just. Jess & Dan: you Lindee: get an inch one day to do that. Chasing The Magic: Yeah. Jess & Dan: Yeah, right now I'm just going like slowly one thing at a time. That's I'm like, no, I got flowers then I'll get the rest and I get the rest. Chasing The Magic: All right, well, we also don't have a lot of Disney news. ⁓ Typhoon Lagoon is reopened today, so both water parks are operating at the same time. ⁓ This is interesting for me. Jess & Dan: You Woohoo! Is that the first time since? ⁓ Chasing The Magic: No, the first time since COVID was last year. Jess & Dan: ⁓ okay. Chasing The Magic: but Blizzard Beach stays open like year round or something. And then Typhoon Lagoon closes for the winter. don't really, I don't, I've never been to the water parks. So I really don't know. ⁓ This one's kind of interesting for me cause I'm on Disney pin TikTok now. Disneyland has updated its pin trading rules and removed the designated pin trading area many collectors used regularly and new etiquette and location guidelines are now posted online. Jess & Dan: Thank Lindee: Interesting. Chasing The Magic: because it was getting like, these people are like insane when they go to the pin trader spot and like. Lindee: I was gonna say something happened. Chasing The Magic: Yeah, mean, yeah, they're, they get like super. Yeah, like a great like not like physical fights, but like they've I've seen like yelling. Well, right. I've seen but I've seen yelling fights on TikTok. Because like if they trade one pit like, if me, I'm a casual pin trader, I'm not going one I would never go over here because like it would scare me. But like if I went up to them, I'd be like, ⁓ I have this cute little Jess & Dan: like aggressive or? Lindee: Well, maybe. Chasing The Magic: pin, can I trade it? I have two, I want to trade it." And they'd be like, well, what's its value? And I'm like, well, I bought it for $12.99. And they're like, no, what's its actual value? I'm like, so people ... there's ... Right. So they want you to show the eBay listing of the current value, what it last sold for. And so I guess Disneyland ... Lindee: ⁓ It's a made up system. ⁓ Jess & Dan: I'm hot. Chasing The Magic: Disneyland, I don't know why Epcot has a bad one too. I don't know. Jess & Dan: ⁓ But they should know that. they're really that good of a pin trader, they need to know the value. And if they don't know the value, then it's just aesthetics. And if they like the aesthetics, because there is no value on the secondary market, it's fictitious. The market is what the market will hold. Lindee: Right. Chasing The Magic: Right. Lindee: Yeah, I mean, it's just whatever somebody is going to pay for it. Chasing The Magic: Right. Lindee: Mm-hmm. Chasing The Magic: Right. so like I get, cause there's these, there's duplicates. So like other companies are making the same pin. And so like, I get them not wanting to trade for those. That makes sense. But those are just fakes, right? So, but the people getting so upset about just regular Disney bought pins, it's crazy. So. Jess & Dan: Thank Lindee: Wouldn't those just be fakes? Jess & Dan: Like if you don't want to make that bed, could just be like, thanks. Have a magical day. That's like, I used to trade Boy Scout patches back when I was in Boy Scouts and the council I came from was popular in some different, ⁓ it was popular in other areas because I could, I could go to the council and buy a hundred patches. Lindee: Right. Chasing The Magic: Right! Right. Jess & Dan: But when I would go to like National Scout Jamboree and there were people from all over the United States and all over the, you know, Canada and overseas, yeah, like they were valuable to them because they couldn't get them. So I don't know. But I don't think you can inject logic into some of this stuff. So. Chasing The Magic: Mm-hmm. ⁓ No, it's crazy. We've already kind of talked about this, but we have an opening date for Rock and Roller Coaster starring the Muppets. And I think AP's annual pass holders and cast members are starting to get... Jess & Dan: you Chasing The Magic: the dates for what's it called, ⁓ the early things. They get to go right at first. Cast member previews and then annual pass holder previews. And then Millennium Falcon Smuggler's Run is getting a new mission and it's going to connect to the Mandalorian and Grogu. Jess & Dan: on the video. Nice. The Mandalorian Grogu is everywhere. I went to Burger King today and the whole menu was Mandalorian themed. Lindee: Yeah, that's what I was like. That's what I thinking. I was like, what have I heard about? Oh, Bath and Body Works is coming out with something too. I'm like, what? What are they going to do? It's kind of weird. Chasing The Magic: Really? That's interesting. Jess & Dan: sure that means, I know if that's the right word. I was about to say, no, if it was Lush, we would definitely be. I'm sure Lush will have something too. They're all over the place. So I tried to get the Grogu garlic chicken fries and the Imperial cheddar ranch tots, but they were like, oh, we don't have those yet. And I was like, then they probably shouldn't have made your whole menu look like that. Chasing The Magic: You Lindee: you Chasing The Magic: to say why is it on the menu? Lindee: my god. Jess & Dan: And then the screen was scrolling. So like it was one of those digital menus and the screen kept changing so fast. She's like, what do you want instead? And I was like, well, I gotta wait for the screen to come back around so I can see the choices. And then I ordered and she was like, oh, our computer just shut down. So I have to restart it. And I was like, okay. She was like, I'm so sorry. A whopper. I'm just gonna walk away. You got a whopper back there? Give me a whopper. Chasing The Magic: Hahaha! Lindee: you Chasing The Magic: ⁓ I think that's all like the major news. Lindee: Like why is all this stuff coming out now? Chasing The Magic: So. There is there's a new ⁓ Mandalorian. Yeah, there's a some new Star Wars something happening. Jess & Dan: movie. Lindee: Okay. Jess & Dan: It's a major movie release starring Pedro Pesto in theaters. So big Star Wars fans now. Good to know. Lindee: I'm sorry, Bill. Chasing The Magic: You Lindee: Okay, I don't pay attention to what comes out in the movies anymore, honestly. Chasing The Magic: And this is, okay, we're not current yet. We're not there yet. We're only in 2017, okay? Jess & Dan: I haven't actually watched The Mandalorian. I watched the first episode of the show, but it was too quiet and I had to pay attention. I was like, nope, don't have the attention for this right now. I got all the way up to what I thought was the last episode of the first season. Then I came back and there were two more episodes and I was like, nah. I left it at a good spot. Chasing The Magic: Hahaha! Jess & Dan: Everything was everything was turning out OK. I don't need to come back, but. Well, if the cheddar tots are good, I might check it out again. Lindee: You Hahaha! Jess & Dan: So the, don't know what that's called like this. Lindee: All hinges on this test. Jess & Dan: like all the extended universe stuff like the... ⁓ There was the one with the woman with the weird head and the... You're have to be so much more specific. All of the stuff that has come out post the last... All the stuff that happens that's not in the movies basically. can't... Yeah. I can't get into any of those. Lindee: you Chasing The Magic: Okay, like the side quests is what the kind of thing. don't... Can you for Marvel? Because I've gotten into them for Marvel. Jess & Dan: No, but she can. I love Marvel. If there is a, if there's, I have at least watched 30 seconds of every What If that's ever come out. I love What If. I have all of the, like the. Lindee: Okay. Chasing The Magic: ⁓ huh. Jess & Dan: the hawk and CJ and Smokey and the bear and I'm in the process of watching all the TV shows. I'm on season three of Jessica Jones. I haven't watched any of Luke Cage. I'm like behind on some of the TV shows. Obviously some of them I watch. I'm real excited for Vision Quest. I'm really excited for Doomsday. We did watch Wonder Man. I read books. Chasing The Magic: Mm-hmm. I mean, I do that too. Jess & Dan: ⁓ So what was the... Midnight, moon night, moon night, night, moon, moon night, moon night, Oscar Isaac. Sure. That was a good one. Yeah. Lindee: That's a lot. That sounds like a lot. Jess & Dan: There's so much. Lindee: I'm glad we're just starting with the movies, but there's even a lot of movies, Jess & Dan: Yeah. TV stays on most of the time. There's very few times it turns off. Like the power has to go out for it to turn off. Chasing The Magic: There are. hahahahah ⁓ Jess & Dan: Sorry, books. I don't really even read books. I listen to Audible, but that's... It still counts. According to Storygraph, it still counts. According to just... ⁓ Chasing The Magic: It still counts. According to everybody, it still counts. All right, well, we have Dan and Jess on for a very special episode. Jess & Dan: All right, well. That's gonna be funny to the people from the 1980s. Yeah. Chasing The Magic: Okay. Jess & Dan: And so, like, if you're watching like Blossom or Punky Brewster, it be like a very special episode. It would be like the saddest thing happens to someone. Kind of perfect because that's what we're here to do. Okay, so can we spoil? Like one of the special episodes, Punky was playing hide and seek. And did she get in refrigerator or did Cher get in the refrigerator? I think it was punky hidden in an abandoned refrigerator. Yeah, and we all almost watched our hero die. Yep. And we all learned a very important lesson and I'll tell you it if you ask anyone in their 40s if they would ever get in a refrigerator they will say no and they will cite punky bruster. Chasing The Magic: you Lindee: One of those irrational fears things that you Jess & Dan: Very dangerous, don't do it. Chasing The Magic: Wasn't planning on it. Thanks for the head up. Jess & Dan: Oh no, it's totally rational. And if there's a refrigerator on the back of a log truck, no. Chasing The Magic: haha Lindee: with Jess & Dan: final destination, Jeffrey. I got it. for, yeah, for the, for the Gen Xers that listen to your podcast, they're going to be like, ⁓ these people are hip. These people are rad. They're rad. They have their finger on the pulse. Lindee: Thank Chasing The Magic: All right, well, you two can take it away. Tell us what we're doing and let's get started. Jess & Dan: Okay, so we listened to your episode that was like bad description of Disney movies and ⁓ no shade to AI, but they weren't that impressive. And I was like, wouldn't it be fun if we came up with clues that were only based on like all of the trauma in Disney movies. So we have created for you clues that are the most bummer descriptions of some of your favorite movies. And we'd like for you to guess. Lindee: Okay. Jess & Dan: what the movie is based on the descriptions that we give you. And just fair warning, it's a lot. Like not many, like, I went hard on the buggers. Chasing The Magic: And you with the no bummer policy. Jess & Dan: You'll notice a theme. Yeah, first of all, let me just say, they almost all start with abused orphans because that's what Disney does. I can't help that. Chasing The Magic: Alright, alright. Jess & Dan: Okay, so let's give you the first one. Let's start with one that is... ⁓ Okay, we'll start with one that's... Lindee: you Jess & Dan: Maybe, maybe an easy one. I don't know. Okay. By the way, only animated films. ⁓ does include Disney and Pixar. So just so you know what pool you're drawing from and we didn't even come close. So if we like this, we can do it again. ⁓ cause we have so many more we could do. Okay. So this movie, do you want to the clue? No, you can do it. Okay. This is an exploration of generational trauma where a child is forced to hide their true self after coming out to the family is met with anger. They run away to meet up with an adult in hopes of forming a non-platonic relationship. After dodging the authorities, they expose a murder plot and in the process, destroy the reputation of a national treasure by making their fraud public. This adventure unearths the painful memories for a family member experiencing dementia. Lindee: Wow. Okay, okay, I have thoughts. ⁓ Jess & Dan: you Chasing The Magic: Okay, I'm gonna guess. Jess & Dan: Okay. Yes. Yes. Lindee: I guess too. Jess & Dan: Yeah, I figured you weren't sure the dementia would give it away. Lindee: I was like, did I hear it right? Chasing The Magic: Right, that's what I was stuck on. was like, dementia, dementia, dementia. I was like, that has to be it. Jess & Dan: Yep. Lindee: Yeah, those were the two cute. That was good. Chasing The Magic: That was... Jess & Dan: Thank you. Lindee: you Jess & Dan: Daniel's going to pick the next. Yeah, I'm trying to do one. OK. ⁓ A child is bullied for their appearance, has a mother who is jailed, lives as an outcast, suffers from depression, experiences substance-induced hallucinations, engages in increasingly dangerous stunts, and faces a psychological crisis. Lindee: ⁓ wow. Jess & Dan: This is an older one. Chasing The Magic: I'm gonna guess. Jess & Dan: Okay. Chasing The Magic: Alice in Wonderland. No. Okay. Jess & Dan: Nope. bullied for their appearance. Chasing The Magic: older. Lindee: Mmm, I can see what you're thinking. What was that? Jess & Dan: bullied for their substance. Chasing The Magic: Yeah, I got stuck on the psychedelic. That's what I got stuck on. Jess & Dan: The hallucinations part is as important as the substance induced. And then the psychological crisis. Lindee: ⁓ my gosh, I have no idea. Jess & Dan: Let's see. Chasing The Magic: Hold on, can I guess again? Jess & Dan: Yes. Lindee: you Chasing The Magic: Pinocchio? Jess & Dan: Nope. Nope. And not the other one you were about to say, which I don't, but no. They were forced into... they were forced to perform. Yes. Yes. Chasing The Magic: Dumbo. Lindee: mmm i don't remember gumbo enough i would have never gone Jess & Dan: Definitely dumb Okay, here's another one that's... That, yeah, I'll just... So part of these were written on our way to Dallas. So we had a lot of free time. And probably we thought most of these were real funny in the car. Oh, I didn't think they were funny. I thought they were awful. Well, and this one, every time we've read it to somebody, they've liked it. So. OK. Lindee: Hahaha Okay. Jess & Dan: So this one a character is raised by a murderous religious zealot experiences a life character raised by a murderous religious zealot experiences a lifetime of abuse. They both develop romantic feelings for the same person. When the zealots lust turns into murderous rage, the character reduces rescues the love interest, then fights the zealot to the death. The characters love remains unrequited. Lindee: ⁓ is it Hunchback of Notre Dame? Jess & Dan: Yeah. Which, why did they make that into a movie? Like, I could have just read the actual plot, no changes. Lindee: Hahaha That was a good one. Chasing The Magic: That was a good one. Jess & Dan: Are you ready for the next one? Okay. A hoarder stalks a stranger, follows them to their home, disrupts the social order, displaces a large population and almost dies, suffers amnesia and undergoes electroshock therapy. Chasing The Magic: Yes. Jess & Dan: which is the worst way to describe the cutest movie in the world. No. No. Lindee: Why do I want to say finding Nemo? No. Jess & Dan: Not a bad choice, but. I love this movie by the way. Lindee: you Chasing The Magic: Can you say it again? Jess & Dan: Yes, a hoarder stalks a stranger, follows them to their home, disrupts the social order, displaces a large population and almost dies, suffers amnesia and undergoes electroshock therapy. Chasing The Magic: Is it new? Jess & Dan: Newer. Newer. Chasing The Magic: But it's not like the latest Pixar release. It's not the latest one. Jess & Dan: You will put on a boot and kick yourself if you don't get it. Chasing The Magic: Okay. See, but that's not a newer one. I don't know. What you consider newer? Jess & Dan: I'm just like, you're him. Yeah. Lindee: Right. Chasing The Magic: I want, okay, before you give a hint, I wanna go Toy Story. Jess & Dan: Nah. Chasing The Magic: but I don't feel like that's right. Jess & Dan: We've also given you two hints now. Yeah. They were subtle. We're trying to bring your life into this game. Chasing The Magic: I know. I know. Lindee: I don't know. I'm trying to think. Jess & Dan: I do hate not figuring it out, but I feel so alone on the planet. Lindee: Great. Chasing The Magic: They're giving us hints with almost everything they say and I can't figure it out. Lindee: I know, I know, I know. It's not, it's not Elio, is it? Elio? Jess & Dan: No, maybe we made it exotic. Yeah. Chasing The Magic: Elio? Hold on. Lindee: What? I'm gonna play it. Chasing The Magic: I know. Jess & Dan: Sometimes you have to think outside the box. Lindee: I should have brushed up on my movies. Chasing The Magic: I mean, Jess & Dan: like cube your thinking. Chasing The Magic: Like you're thinking. I don't, I... Jess & Dan: Yeah, just get rid of all the trash. You're gonna cry so hard you need a mop. Yeah, get rid of all the trash that you're thinking about. No. No. Chasing The Magic: Inside out? Jess & Dan: Yes. Wally. Lindee: ⁓ okay. Okay. Jess & Dan: We broke Lindy. Lindee: You Jess & Dan: Electroshock therapy is a little much because they spark at the end and that's what brings his memory. Chasing The Magic: ⁓ Okay, that's what I was trying to fit. That's the part that I was stuck on. But. Jess & Dan: Okay, let's see. Okay. Lindee: That was hard. Chasing The Magic: Okay, but have y'all seen Hoppers yet? Because that could have been Hoppers. Jess & Dan: No. ⁓ really? Lindee: Well, they're not on a different planet. Chasing The Magic: disrupts a society. Yeah, beside the planet, the first like disrupts a society electrocuted at the end. I don't know, could have just saying. Well, it is a Disney movie. All right. Lindee: That was a hint, I guess. Yeah. Jess & Dan: Ooh. I'll have to watch it, it's miserable. Okay, so this next one. An abused orphan forced into child labor by a guardian with body dysmorphia avoids a murder for hire plot by breaking and entering and offering to service a group of older men in exchange for protection. Nonetheless, they are found poisoned and subjected to non-consensual personal contact while unconscious. And I have a hint if you want a hint. Chasing The Magic: My first thought was tangled, and then the ending took a turn. Lindee: Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Chasing The Magic: body dysmorph. Jess & Dan: The hint is outside of the main character, this movie also includes ⁓ manic behavior, narcolepsy, mood disorders, learning difficulties, social anxiety, airborne germ transmission, Lindy, and a speech impediment. Chasing The Magic: A speech impediment. Jess & Dan: Mm-hmm. Lindee: ⁓ my gosh, I don't know. Jess & Dan: Is it too fast? Can we go too hard? That's not a hint. Let me give you a clue from like outside the... So this movie... caused one of the greatest parties in Disney's history. I'm gonna need to unpack that when we're done, because I don't know what you're talking about. Okay. One of the craziest, rockest fairies ever happened after this movie came out. Chasing The Magic: See, I'm... Lindee: I have no idea. Chasing The Magic: Yeah, I'm... I want to say goofy movie, but I don't think that's right. Jess & Dan: The hint included seven specific things. Lindee: ⁓ no way. Okay. Okay. Jess & Dan: Take it away. Yeah. Chasing The Magic: Okay. Lindee: Got it. Yep. Okay. I'm like thinking back to the clue and I'm like, yep, yep, yep, yep. That makes sense. Okay. Gosh, man. Y'all, those things are hard. They're good. They're good though. Jess & Dan: With what it to be harder than AI, we might have we might have overcorrected. Yeah, we might have. Lindee: Hahaha. Jess & Dan: I don't know. Oh, there's that one. Okay. A child experiences vivid and violent hallucinations, including the use of an unknown substance, animal abuse, fascism, and death threats. Chasing The Magic: Wait, say the beginning again? Jess & Dan: A child experiences vivid and violent hallucinations, including the use of unknown substances, animal abuse, fascism, and death threats. and you've already guessed it once. And one of the examples of animal abuse is a prize in the current star path in Dreamlight Valley. Lindee: I haven't done enough to know. Chasing The Magic: Trying to think what, I guess Pinocchio. Lindee: You guess Toy Story? Chasing The Magic: What was it? Toy Story. Lindee: I don't think that. ⁓ Jess & Dan: Divid hallucinations, use of unknown substances. Chasing The Magic: I guessed Alice in Wonderland. Is that it? Okay. Lindee: Mmm. Jess & Dan: Yep. The Dodo bird umbrella. ⁓ Chasing The Magic: ⁓ the animal. ⁓ OK. Jess & Dan: Okay, let's see. We'll find another one. So the best thing about this list is I guess we started work. Well, we know I lie. Jessica, they're working on some of these and like. Like some of them just have one or two words. Yeah, there's some that we didn't get a whole clue for. So it just says like, like xenophobia. Yeah. ⁓ and then what the one that we, that we tried to work on and we just never could get, and Laura will know this because it's the one, the one battle that we have about somebody who's actually not a princess. And that Lindee: you Jess & Dan: That's the only clue, absolutely not a princess. Chasing The Magic: You want me to guess it? Jess & Dan: Sure. Yep. Chasing The Magic: Mulan? Lindee: Ha ha ha. Chasing The Magic: Hehehehehe Jess & Dan: Okay, let's see. ⁓ that's a good one. Which one? I was about to be like, you know, blah blah blah blah. But that help. That one, I think is a- Okay. A young person is exploited and kidnapped before being exposed to toxic masculinity and participating in anarchic behavior. After narrowly escaping being sold into slavery, they engage in animal mistreatment. Chasing The Magic: Hahaha Jess & Dan: have a near-death experience and transition away from their assigned identity at birth. Lindee: and I thought it was Beauty and the Beast, but then the end lost me. Chasing The Magic: You said Lindee: Is that Pinocchio? Okay. Jess & Dan: Yes. Yeah. Hahaha. Chasing The Magic: Okay. Jess & Dan: That's a fun one. I don't know if fun's the right word, but. Okay. After the... ⁓ After the violent murder of their single mother, a child finds out the identity of their absent father, goes through puberty, survives a murder attempt, narrowly escapes a fire that destroys their home, and appears to continue the generational cycle of abandoning families in pursuit of social standing. Chasing The Magic: Probably, I might get it wrong, but I'm gonna go with Bambi. Jess & Dan: Yeah, you nailed it. Lindee: Hahaha Nice. Jess & Dan: and if we ruin any of these movies for your listeners, we apologize in advance. Lindee: Yeah. Jess & Dan: Okay, I've got one. After escaping abuse, there's a lot of abuse. Sorry. This whole thing should be a trigger warning. After escaping abuse, a criminal befriends a child. The child's caretaker faces legal scrutiny as the child is nearly killed and is kidnapped. Their home is destroyed and multiple government agencies make rulings on their future. Lindee: you Chasing The Magic: I was gonna say tangled again and then it took a turn. Jess & Dan: This is Jessica's least favorite movie. Lindee: Thanks. Jess & Dan: or at least one of the characters. I hate them both. ⁓ Lindee: AHHHH Jess & Dan: ⁓ Yeah, Lilo instead. I was just about to be like, and I was about to be like, and this is another example of a special episode because they changed. They changed the video where she originally hid in the dryer ⁓ or the dryer and they changed it. Yeah. Chasing The Magic: I ate them both. ⁓ huh. Dryer. to a pizza box. Jess & Dan: But yeah, if you've never heard the story of ⁓ after Snow White came out and was such a success, Walt had a party somewhere in California and all of the animators thought they were going to get a raise. So they thought, so he had like this weekend, he did like the Disney Olympics and they had like a day of like ⁓ a film day where they did all these events. And so they thought that was a lot of fun and they thought there, there was a big dinner and they thought afterwards they were going to get all get raises, but come to find out like the weekend was like the reward. ⁓ And so there was, there was an open bar and they like, apparently they were never allowed back at this hotel. You like, there's a couple of YouTube channels that do like the Disney history. Chasing The Magic: You Mm-hmm. Jess & Dan: And there's about a 30 or 45 minute video about all the stuff that happened. with them being animators, were like cartoons drawn about it. Just really interesting. Yeah, you can't hack off animators because they'll draw you something. Yeah. Because as with everything, I enjoy the train wrecks of any. Chasing The Magic: You You Jess & Dan: of any organization. Lindee: I've never heard that. Jess & Dan: So we have a couple like shorter like this one is just a homeless criminal catfishes their way into an influential family. Lindee: Thank Chasing The Magic: Ahem. Aladdin. Jess & Dan: Yeah. A teen hoarder and stalker is manipulated into signing away their rights as part of a plot to oust the head of a government. Yep. Lindee: you Little mermaid. Chasing The Magic: Little mermaid. Jess & Dan: Isn't it neat? A parent discovers and exposes a kidnapping ring when their children are taken. Chasing The Magic: Nemo? Jess & Dan: Nah. Chasing The Magic: Kidnap. Jess & Dan: It breaks all kinds of foster parent laws. I love this movie. Do you? Yeah, it's an older one. My brother had bedsheets of this movie. Lindee: Can say it again? Jess & Dan: A parent discovers and exposes a kidnapping ring when their children are taken. Yep. ⁓ thought Laura got it. We also had a very specific pet with a very specific name taken from this movie. but we only had one of this. I've had a ton of bits named after this movie. Hahaha Lindee: Yeah. I Jess & Dan: You have a friend whose name is like this movie. Yes. Yeah. Chasing The Magic: 101 Dalmatians. Lindee: ⁓ my God. Jess & Dan: you Chasing The Magic: ⁓ That was a good clue. Jess & Dan: Okay, we did this one, we did this one. Lindee: Okay. Jess & Dan: ⁓ that's a good one. Abducted child, escaped gang leader, what? Abducted children, escape a gang leader. Abducted children, escape a gang leader with a history of violence. After being stalked, abducted twice, bullied, gaslit, and narrowly escaped in an act of terrorism by a rival gang. But for kids. But for kids. Lindee: Ha ha ha! Chasing The Magic: The amount of stalking and is, yeah. Lindee: Kidnapping, murdering. ⁓ Jess & Dan: Abduction? Mm-hmm. It's brutal. Lindee: What's that line, King, is it? Jess & Dan: And the main villain definitely had some unprocessed trauma. Yes. Chasing The Magic: I don't know if they heard you, Lindy. Lindee: Not Lion King. Jess & Dan: No. and he definitely would not have a social media account on a certain short video format. No. No, he would not. But he would be a fan of Blues Traveler. Yes. Because it brings you back. Chasing The Magic: I don't know, I can't. Jess & Dan: It's a bangerang movie. They're too young for your references. Yeah. Lindee: What's the same way? Jess & Dan: I thought I would hook him with the last one, but I guess I did. It's like you're never going to grow up. Yeah, I'm just never going to grow up. Chasing The Magic: ⁓ Peter Pan. Lindee: ⁓ Jess & Dan: Yeah. Okay, let's see. Okay. An abused orphan forced into child labor by an emotionally manipulative guardian spends one evening away from home before being the subject of a manhunt and held against their will. Chasing The Magic: Again, I'm gonna start right. Lindee: Is that tangled? Jess & Dan: What was it? Lindee: Both head tangled. Jess & Dan: No, okay, but it's, but I see that. Yeah, very similar. Lindee: Okay. Jess & Dan: But that very much could be. it's the one that's kind of the. And the child labor is pretty important. Yeah, this is one of the classics. Lindee: Cinderella. ⁓ Jess & Dan: There you go. Chasing The Magic: Mmm. Jess & Dan: Let's see. So just so y'all know, you're going to have to stop her or we're going to be on this for the next We that many more, but we can stop whenever you're ready. Chasing The Magic: Well... We are close to our mark and we try to keep it at 45 minutes. So let's do one more, one more for Jessica and then we can call it. Jess & Dan: There you go. Chasing The Magic: And we can definitely do this again. Jess & Dan: After surviving an attempted murder, a character lies and manipulates a person from a lower social class into a dangerous adventure. This is one of my favorites too. Chasing The Magic: What was the first part after what? Jess & Dan: after surviving an attempted murder. Chasing The Magic: social. Jess & Dan: can't think of all the clues are just too simple. Cause all I can think of is like. you Yeah, I'm trying to think if I can think of any clues. Lindee: It's not up, is it? Jess & Dan: Yeah. As I say, this character goes through a transformation. Yeah. A few. And then really at the end goes through a transformation. Yeah. Ummm... Chasing The Magic: I was gonna say Hercules. Jess & Dan: No, that's a good guess. That is good guess. There's an attempted poisoning. There's an attempted poisoning. Lindee: Wait, is it Ember's Negru? Chasing The Magic: Emperor's new groove! Jess & Dan: Yeah. Lindee: my gosh, yes, that's one of my favorites too. Jess & Dan: I love that movie. I was like, Ant-Clucking Show. Yeah. Chasing The Magic: Bye! game show yes Jess & Dan: Yeah, and that's just what happened with Kuzco and Pacha. I didn't even mention Kronk and what he went through. Chasing The Magic: Right? That's a good one. That was a good one. This was fun. Lindee: Great. Y'all know Chelsea is bounding is Yzma, right? Yes, she is. I can't wait to see what she does. Jess & Dan: No. I'm seeing all the photos of all the bounding. Susan, thank you. ⁓ So we can do this again. It doesn't have to be such a bummer next time. We can find a different take on it though if you guys like this. Because there is, we have a whole list of movies that we have. Chasing The Magic: Yes? Yes, the bounds are going to be good. I like the guessing. Yeah, I like the guessing and I like y'alls are definitely better than, know, chat GBT. Lindee: Yeah. Yeah. I wonder, I want to know how many people, mean, how many of the listeners are screaming? Cause I know the answer. Some of them were pretty obvious. Like even though they were, they were still very challenging. Like those few keywords in there helped, but like some of them, just could not even. Chasing The Magic: Mm-hmm. Jess & Dan: Well, some of it's so generic, like, ⁓ they mistreated a young girl and then like, touched her when she didn't want to be touched. Great. What movie is that? Chasing The Magic: I know. Mm-hmm. Lindee: Mm-hmm. Chasing The Magic: Hehehehehe Lindee: No, that's good. Chasing The Magic: That was fun, for sure. For sure. Jess & Dan: We'll think of another take on how to do some clues so you guys can guess which movie. Lindee: Thanks for putting together. Chasing The Magic: Yeah, definitely. All right, I'm going to stop it. Jess & Dan: We could do like, we could do like a job description.
