- 0:23chickens. Hey, good morning my friends.
- 0:29So today we are continuing Doing our series on stress.
- 0:33And today, it's all about sleep. Oh, I is this not one of the,
- 0:38the toughest things when you are stressed, how you don't sleep.
- 0:42And sleep is such a fundamental part of our well-being.
- 0:46It's such a fundamental part of everything about us that we
- 0:51can't, as a human being, we just can't not sleep.
- 0:54We cannot decide, I'm just not going to sleep, and I'm going to
- 0:56be fine. In fact, there are study after
- 0:59study after study that That show the detrimental effects of lack
- 1:03of sleep, and how you can actually get to the point where
- 1:06you hallucinate, because you are so deprived of what your body
- 1:11needs to heal. Because honestly, you know,
- 1:15sleep is something that heals our body and takes the time to
- 1:21put us in a state of, you know, it's actually an altered state
- 1:25when you really come right down to it.
- 1:26Sleep is an altered state and we are able to go Regenerate
- 1:31ourselves. Our body regenerates, our energy
- 1:34regenerates are set on a cellular level where
- 1:38regenerating regenerating ourselves.
- 1:40So, what's so important to remember is, if you are not
- 1:44sleeping and you are ignoring this in your life, in general,
- 1:48you need to get help with this because you are vastly under
- 1:53estimating the effects. It has on you, your hormone
- 1:56levels on a very basic human. Even function level, it's
- 2:02destroying you. And if you are not sleeping, you
- 2:06truly do, need to get help with it.
- 2:07Whatever the kind of help that maybe, you know, you seek out a
- 2:10doctor, you find out you seek out someone that can help you
- 2:13meditate. There are lots and lots of
- 2:17different ways to handle it. Now today, I'm going to discuss
- 2:21some of the more natural ways to handle it because that tends to
- 2:23be my way of doing things. And I like to teach you guys.
- 2:27What works for me and what I will say, if you are Our
- 2:30chronic, if you are in a chronic state of sleep deprivation and
- 2:35you cannot get it handled. You definitely need to have
- 2:37medical help for it because it is fundamental to your
- 2:42well-being and don't ignore it. Now, that being said, okay,
- 2:46might a leap of handling. This comes back to again, very
- 2:50organic ways of doing things and looking at things and saying,
- 2:53okay, well, first of all, first and foremost, it is never a
- 2:57great idea to go to sleep watching the news.
- 3:00Who's watching something scary, doing things that are scary.
- 3:04Movies things that you know, will trigger your lack of focus
- 3:12on sleep. If you get over stimulated,
- 3:14before you go to bed playing video games, horrible to do.
- 3:18If your children play video games before they go to bed,
- 3:20even studies, show that even within an hour.
- 3:23And a half of going to bed, 90 minutes and going to bed, they
- 3:26can be detrimental. To the child sleep, not to
- 3:29mention other things. And that's a whole different
- 3:31podcast subject. However, video games, no bueno,
- 3:36not a good idea. And that goes for the ones on
- 3:39your phone, my friends because I can't tell you how many of my
- 3:42clients will say, why don't play video games?
- 3:44Well, I guess they kind of do a little bit on my phone, if
- 3:47you're on your phone and you're messing around with it before
- 3:49you go to bed, don't your phone? Technically should not even be
- 3:53in your in your room. It should be out of your room so
- 3:57that your one not getting the EMF waves but too.
- 4:00Just having it. There isn't is anxiety for so
- 4:04many people in itself, just having the phone there.
- 4:06So ditch the phone, if you can. Now full disclosure, I sleep
- 4:10with the phone in my room because my daughter doesn't live
- 4:13with us. And I, if she needs has an
- 4:15emergency, I want to be able to answer that phone but I don't
- 4:19have it within a reach of me immediately and I don't play
- 4:22with it. It's there if she calls a couple
- 4:24of times, the phone will click over and it will unlock and let
- 4:28me know she needs me. But That's the only reason it's
- 4:31there, otherwise, it's silenced. So Understand those little
- 4:37triggers before you go to bed. The other thing, drinking coffee
- 4:41all day long drinking, anything that has caffeine in all day
- 4:44long. Not a good idea for getting
- 4:47ready, even if it's late in the afternoon, you're having coffee.
- 4:50That's going to cause you an issue when it comes to being
- 4:53able to sleep at night. So you have to look at that and
- 4:55say, okay, I've got to start putting some stuff in place that
- 5:00allows me to be able to sleep and you have an intention of
- 5:04being able to sleep. I can tell you right now sleep
- 5:08is a very important thing to me and I have it all lined up.
- 5:11I make my bed every day one because it feels great to have
- 5:14the accomplishment in the old Marine Way of having a bed done.
- 5:17But to it also feels great when you get into bed and it's neat
- 5:21and you can relax. I make sure I have you know the
- 5:25covers exactly the way I want them.
- 5:28I am ultimately looking forward to going to sleep if you're not
- 5:33looking forward to going to sleep, you have To question.
- 5:36What's the reason I'm not looking forward to this?
- 5:38Is it? Because you already plan on the
- 5:40fact, you're going to struggle. Not sleeping.
- 5:42Because if that's the case, we already know what the problem
- 5:44is. You're anticipating not
- 5:46sleeping. Therefore you won't sleep.
- 5:50A lot of my clients that struggle with this.
- 5:52I will suggest that use hypnotherapy.
- 5:54'S meaning, you can get an audio.
- 5:57That is a guided meditation that talks to you about relaxation
- 6:01and sleep. And they really do work.
- 6:04I can Promise you they really do work.
- 6:07You just have to do them and repetition is the mother of
- 6:10skills. So I listening over and over and
- 6:13over to the same, one is not a bad thing.
- 6:16So many people worry about this and they say well I've listened
- 6:19to that so many times. Yeah, there's a reason because
- 6:22once we know things, we know them and they become part of us
- 6:26just like you understand multiplication.
- 6:28And how many times have we all done the multiplication tables
- 6:31in our lives yet? You know we don't seem to mind
- 6:34that because We knew that there was an outcome of memorizing
- 6:38them. So, this is the same thing with
- 6:40doing meditations like this, you memorize them and it will help
- 6:43you go to sleep. And thirdly, you've got to be
- 6:47hydrated to sleep. Well, I don't care what anybody
- 6:49tells you if you're dehydrated, you don't sleep.
- 6:52Well because your body is constantly seeking out hydration
- 6:56and it's it, it's constricting because it doesn't have enough
- 7:01hydration. So all these little pieces, you
- 7:04have to try Why first? And if you do that and then they
- 7:08still don't work. You know it's one of those
- 7:09things where you can say, okay now I know I've tried all these
- 7:12other things and I definitely need some help.
- 7:16Now again, one of the biggest things is someone says, well,
- 7:19I'm going to watch something before they go to bed and I
- 7:23myself, we do this. Okay?
- 7:24I want full disclosure, we have an iPad, will watch something,
- 7:28but I will not watch things that disturb me, in fact, just the
- 7:31other day we ended up watching a movie that my son picked and it
- 7:35was In the afternoon on Sunday, it wasn't even close to going to
- 7:38bed, but I watched it and it haunted me all night and then I
- 7:42the next day, my husband actually said to me that movie
- 7:45really bothered me, I couldn't think stop thinking about it and
- 7:48it was hours and hours before we went to go to bed and it still
- 7:51got to us. So the effects are real.
- 7:55Be advised, keep on it and put yourself in a place to win with
- 8:00this. At least.
- 8:01Try these steps and see if this helps to reduce it because
- 8:05Immediately, as soon as you get some rest stress goes down.
- 8:08So hopefully this was helpful, my friends, and we will continue
- 8:11this tomorrow. I will see you.
- 8:12Then have a great day. Bye.
