- 0:00Speaker 1: The government shutdown is starting to wreck crypto in a
- 0:02Speaker 1: big way. But other markets are starting to get hit
- 0:05Speaker 1: as well. We'll talk about Russia and also tariffs going
- 0:08Speaker 1: into Canada. How that is all playing out. Let's get
- 0:10Speaker 1: into it. I do want to thank our sponsor and
- 0:12Speaker 1: that is I Trust Capital. When times are like this,
- 0:15Speaker 1: this is where you start to lock away your assets
- 0:19Speaker 1: and look for better days. And the way to do
- 0:21Speaker 1: that is get into a CRYPTOIRA. You can do that
- 0:23Speaker 1: over at I Trust Capital. Get into both crypto as
- 0:27Speaker 1: well as gold and silver. A ton of assets available
- 0:30Speaker 1: over there to start locking in your IRA, which is
- 0:34Speaker 1: a long term investment strategy that everybody should have as
- 0:37Speaker 1: part of your portfolio without a doubt.
- 0:40Speaker 2: Use our link down below.
- 0:41Speaker 1: It doesn't help you get started, and you get a
- 0:43Speaker 1: one hundred dollars funding reward if you do set up
- 0:45Speaker 1: an account.
- 0:46Speaker 2: So do that and get going.
- 0:48Speaker 1: Let's go over and lead off with awesome issues in
- 0:51Speaker 1: the market right now. Massive crashes are underway. Three point
- 0:54Speaker 1: six trillion now wiped out in ninety minutes, Silver is
- 0:56Speaker 1: dumped eight and a half and erased four hundred billion
- 0:59Speaker 1: FI its market cap. You got the SNP following one
- 1:02Speaker 1: down six hundred and twenty billion, and then Nasdaq comes
- 1:05Speaker 1: in with one point six down, another six hundred billion
- 1:09Speaker 1: coming in. Munch Ado Crypto comes in at three percent,
- 1:14Speaker 1: wiping out seventy billion.
- 1:15Speaker 2: So you can see.
- 1:17Speaker 1: All markets right there in the red right now as
- 1:20Speaker 1: we are leading in to a tear of standoff with
- 1:24Speaker 1: I think the White House, and a lot of that
- 1:26Speaker 1: is coming because we are looking at pressure across the
- 1:29Speaker 1: markets in general. One other thing when you consider where
- 1:31Speaker 1: the market is, you got to look at Bitcoin. Some
- 1:33Speaker 1: of the pressures on Bitcoin right now is where El
- 1:36Speaker 1: Salvador is currently roughly three hundred million, exposing risk of
- 1:39Speaker 1: President Buchley's crypto bat and of course part of this
- 1:42Speaker 1: will be because of the pressure from this IMF loan
- 1:45Speaker 1: at one point four billion. This of course could put
- 1:48Speaker 1: a lot of pressure on Boukley to sell, so be
- 1:52Speaker 1: on the lookout for that.
- 1:52Speaker 2: What would happen do you.
- 1:53Speaker 1: Guys think to bitcoin if El Salvador started selling bitcoin? Also,
- 1:58Speaker 1: the big issue right now facing I think the tariff
- 2:01Speaker 1: pressure that's causing an imposing crash on the market is
- 2:05Speaker 1: what's happening right now on the US House, which passed the.
- 2:08Speaker 2: Bill to go to the Senate.
- 2:09Speaker 1: This of course, will basically outlaw Trump's tariffs on Canada.
- 2:14Speaker 1: The way it works, though, it goes to the Senate.
- 2:16Speaker 1: If it passes the Senate, it goes back to the House,
- 2:18Speaker 1: and it has to get a majority. So if it
- 2:21Speaker 1: has to win a majority, then that means most of
- 2:24Speaker 1: those House members would have to defy the president. And
- 2:28Speaker 1: he put out a warning here any Republican in the
- 2:30Speaker 1: House or the Senate who votes against this is seriously
- 2:32Speaker 1: going to suffer the consequences. Basically, he is talking about primaries.
- 2:37Speaker 1: This of course leads into the day that we consider
- 2:41Speaker 1: the Big Day, and that of course is coming up
- 2:43Speaker 1: in the midterms. All of this is going to play
- 2:45Speaker 1: out in the midterms, and it's getting hotter and hotter
- 2:48Speaker 1: as we speak.
- 2:50Speaker 2: You can kind of see the.
- 2:51Speaker 1: House votes right there to overturn the Trump It was
- 2:53Speaker 1: two nineteen to two eleven, pretty close, but still six
- 2:57Speaker 1: Republicans joined the Democrats to pass this. So let's just
- 3:00Speaker 1: know that right now, guys, that's the six right there
- 3:03Speaker 1: that did it. Other topics I want to hit on,
- 3:05Speaker 1: of course, was the news on Russia and the United States.
- 3:08Speaker 1: Russia is considering moving back to the US dollars part
- 3:11Speaker 1: of a wide ranging economic partnership with Trump. This will
- 3:14Speaker 1: include a ton of things, joint investments. We're talking about
- 3:17Speaker 1: fossil fuels, this is of course Russia's strong point, offshore
- 3:20Speaker 1: oil and critical raw materials. That's a big one as well.
- 3:23Speaker 1: And then of course this aligns very interestingly because you've
- 3:27Speaker 1: got two of the biggest powers now that may have
- 3:31Speaker 1: a deal to support the dollar, where China is actually
- 3:35Speaker 1: going the other way. So kind of interesting in terms
- 3:37Speaker 1: of the global politics, especially when it matters of the
- 3:40Speaker 1: big titans that really run the world. US dollar is
- 3:44Speaker 1: testing a fifteen year support.
- 3:46Speaker 2: It's now or never. This is maybe a good sign.
- 3:49Speaker 1: Maybe this was the antithesis of why we started to
- 3:52Speaker 1: see this deal being done. Then, of course you have
- 3:55Speaker 1: the world uncertainty and next surging past our twenty twenty
- 3:58Speaker 1: pandemic highs. Well, just don't know what to expect right
- 4:02Speaker 1: now coming out of the US and everything that they
- 4:04Speaker 1: are doing, because it is a scenario where a lot
- 4:07Speaker 1: of ores are in the water. Crazy moves are being
- 4:10Speaker 1: made all around, and of course it is affecting markets now,
- 4:14Speaker 1: and I think Trump might have some pressure maybe for
- 4:17Speaker 1: the first time, especially from Wall Street, because remember it's
- 4:19Speaker 1: been up only for almost his entire term, at least
- 4:21Speaker 1: on this side, with exception of Crypto, which has been down, down, down.
- 4:26Speaker 1: So understand that US layoffs are skyrocketing. This is excluding
- 4:31Speaker 1: the governments, excluding the government, and this of course is
- 4:35Speaker 1: talking about their third highest month for job cuts since
- 4:38Speaker 1: twenty twenty. So this is another problem. I thought we
- 4:41Speaker 1: might see slowing in the job market. I am getting
- 4:44Speaker 1: more concerned that this may be the beginning of a
- 4:48Speaker 1: much greater cut as we start to look into later
- 4:50Speaker 1: this year, nonfound payrolls revised down. Also, you look at
- 4:55Speaker 1: previously reported jobs have been erased. Listen, you've heard me
- 4:59Speaker 1: say this before. Trust any of the data coming out
- 5:01Speaker 1: of the government, and you can't. It's almost impossible. Anything
- 5:05Speaker 1: they report on seems to always be revised down. And
- 5:08Speaker 1: that's even when Biden was in. We've seen it all
- 5:11Speaker 1: through and now it's Trump. It's just a constant flow
- 5:13Speaker 1: of bs coming out of these government agencies. Let's go
- 5:17Speaker 1: over to this right here, because all of this is
- 5:20Speaker 1: going to depend and start to impose a little bit
- 5:22Speaker 1: of movement with the Fed.
- 5:24Speaker 2: Let's see how they react. Take a look.
- 5:25Speaker 3: Market price for two rate cuts this year. I think
- 5:29Speaker 3: it's a pretty good bet that the new chair will
- 5:32Speaker 3: come in and cut rates. I don't think that's a
- 5:35Speaker 3: big deal. I think that's an expectation of the market.
- 5:38Speaker 3: But beyond that is where the question is.
- 5:41Speaker 4: Look, I think the economic data does not support an
- 5:43Speaker 4: aggressive move down by the FED. Maybe one more and
- 5:48Speaker 4: then done. So I think the market thinking that worst
- 5:52Speaker 4: is going to come in and start it productivity campaign
- 5:55Speaker 4: to cut rates is I think maybe a little bit misguided.
- 5:58Speaker 4: The other point to know is people are sort of
- 6:01Speaker 4: misremembering history. The last time we had a productivity boom,
- 6:05Speaker 4: Alan Greenspan and his FED refrained from raising rates because
- 6:10Speaker 4: they thought the economy could run hotter than had been expected.
- 6:14Speaker 4: They did not start an aggressive cutting campaign. And so
- 6:17Speaker 4: I think people are sort of misremembering a little bit
- 6:19Speaker 4: of history. And perhaps I think boxing Kevin Morshin to
- 6:24Speaker 4: a place where he may not be able to deliver
- 6:26Speaker 4: a series of rate cuts behind the productivity story, nor
- 6:30Speaker 4: a serious rate touch behind a softening economy story.
- 6:33Speaker 1: Okay, so a couple of points there. He says one
- 6:35Speaker 1: and done. I say it's going to be more than that.
- 6:37Speaker 1: The pressure right now in jobs is going to be
- 6:39Speaker 1: the big one. It appears that we may have more
- 6:43Speaker 1: deflationary issues facing us well as well when it comes
- 6:47Speaker 1: to inflation. If inflation continues to move down and jobs
- 6:51Speaker 1: are moving up, now you run into a stagflation scenario. This,
- 6:54Speaker 1: I think is a big problem for the FED and
- 6:56Speaker 1: if we do and remember green Span was around when yes,
- 7:01Speaker 1: we had productivity boom, but we did not have the
- 7:03Speaker 1: kind of productivity boom that we could be facing now
- 7:06Speaker 1: with both AI and kind of the growth sector that
- 7:10Speaker 1: could still come out of this and put a lot
- 7:12Speaker 1: of pressure, continued pressure on the job market, which I
- 7:15Speaker 1: am kind of thinking this may be a little bit
- 7:17Speaker 1: of a canary in the coal mine when it comes
- 7:20Speaker 1: to the jobs. Let's go to another clip, because the
- 7:22Speaker 1: macro side of this is where it starts to get
- 7:25Speaker 1: a little bit dicey. Tom Lee goes in and kind
- 7:28Speaker 1: of says this out loud.
- 7:30Speaker 2: Take a look.
- 7:32Speaker 5: Yes, I think that macro is a little confusing for
- 7:35Speaker 5: investors at the moment because we not only have a
- 7:37Speaker 5: new FED chair that's announced and his policy stance isn't clear.
- 7:42Speaker 6: For the first time in history, the S and P
- 7:44Speaker 6: went from overbought to oversold back to overbought in a
- 7:47Speaker 6: week or less. Goldman's Tony Pascarello Tom says he can't
- 7:53Speaker 6: recall a time that was this noisy, this high velocity,
- 7:55Speaker 6: this wide open.
- 7:56Speaker 7: What about you?
- 8:00Speaker 2: Very confusing, Scott.
- 8:01Speaker 5: I think that there's things happening, but I think one
- 8:04Speaker 5: is really the bigger effect. I think the smaller effect
- 8:07Speaker 5: is that AI, as you know, has gone from being
- 8:10Speaker 5: this sort of driver of SMP earnings. Now the market
- 8:14Speaker 5: questioning is AI just wrecking tech so badly that it's
- 8:17Speaker 5: bad for the stock market. And also they're not buying
- 8:21Speaker 5: the data centers and hyperscalers anymore. They're actually trying to
- 8:24Speaker 5: buy the bullets, not the armies. Gold is now bigger
- 8:27Speaker 5: than the stock market, so I think as gold rises,
- 8:31Speaker 5: I think investors are wondering, you, do they really want
- 8:33Speaker 5: to use stocks as a store of value?
- 8:37Speaker 2: That's a big statement there.
- 8:38Speaker 1: Do they really want to use stocks as a store
- 8:40Speaker 1: of value?
- 8:41Speaker 2: If you have that?
- 8:42Speaker 1: And also the word confusion came up twice in that
- 8:45Speaker 1: I think Wall Street does not know how to deal
- 8:48Speaker 1: with this kind of volatility. The good thing is is
- 8:50Speaker 1: that you guys do if you're watching our channel, you've
- 8:53Speaker 1: been in crypto for a while, you understand volatility and
- 8:55Speaker 1: how to maximize on it. So this may change things
- 8:59Speaker 1: quite a bit for the way traditional Wall Street is
- 9:02Speaker 1: going to be investing in the future. Another thing that's
- 9:05Speaker 1: going to factor into this is going to be a
- 9:06Speaker 1: government shutdown, and that is going to happen. It looks
- 9:09Speaker 1: like we're going to have one right there on Valentine's Day,
- 9:11Speaker 1: holding it about to what ninety five percent chance, looks
- 9:14Speaker 1: like it's going to happen.
- 9:16Speaker 2: So get ready, guys.
- 9:17Speaker 1: This may just be the beginning that could cascade into
- 9:21Speaker 1: several other things. Because of one thing, government shuts down,
- 9:25Speaker 1: clarity stops dead inous tracks. That's going to have a
- 9:29Speaker 1: big factor and effect on crypto in general. Let's go
- 9:32Speaker 1: into this because Bloomberg talks about the shutdown and why
- 9:36Speaker 1: it will most likely happen.
- 9:37Speaker 2: To take a look.
- 9:38Speaker 7: Our view is very simple.
- 9:40Speaker 8: ICE and CBP should operate just like other law enforcement
- 9:43Speaker 8: agencies around the country. They should have body cameras, they
- 9:47Speaker 8: should have accountability.
- 9:48Speaker 7: They shouldn't be using.
- 9:49Speaker 8: Taxpayer dollars to terrorize our communities. That doesn't seem like
- 9:53Speaker 8: a heavy lift. We feel that that is important and
- 9:57Speaker 8: that's what we have been advocating if the White House
- 9:59Speaker 8: has different thoughts and they have legislative language, it would
- 10:02Speaker 8: be helpful if they shared that with us. You know,
- 10:04Speaker 8: we're hours away from a shutdown, so the clock is
- 10:07Speaker 8: ticking here. But unfortunately, I don't believe that this is
- 10:11Speaker 8: going to be a serious offer from them that we
- 10:15Speaker 8: can take up.
- 10:17Speaker 2: All right, so you have it.
- 10:19Speaker 1: The Dems are kind of on the fence here, and
- 10:22Speaker 1: I think that this statement kind of hits it on
- 10:24Speaker 1: the head right here. Democrats will be full if you
- 10:26Speaker 1: cave and approve the DHS funding, they'll be back and
- 10:29Speaker 1: worse than last time. Republicans keep showing you their hands,
- 10:32Speaker 1: so stop shaking it. I think the scenario is I
- 10:36Speaker 1: agree with that is I think that the Republicans will
- 10:38Speaker 1: continue to push on this. I do agree actually with
- 10:42Speaker 1: the Democrats in terms of what they're asking for, which
- 10:44Speaker 1: is basically, you know, no more of the harassment, just
- 10:47Speaker 1: do the job, get the bad guys out, take your
- 10:50Speaker 1: masks off.
- 10:50Speaker 2: I agree with that.
- 10:52Speaker 1: I get the safety behind it. But the problem is
- 10:55Speaker 1: is this is inside the United States, and I think
- 10:57Speaker 1: the narrative that it pushes onto the America people is
- 11:00Speaker 1: just negative. So The good thing is here is that
- 11:04Speaker 1: maybe they can come to a little bit of maybe
- 11:09Speaker 1: a little bit of an agreement here and get this
- 11:11Speaker 1: through and hopefully move this forward, because clarity to me
- 11:15Speaker 1: is critical right now. All right, So the clock is
- 11:17Speaker 1: ticking on Clarity, and of course all of this boils
- 11:20Speaker 1: down to the crypto bill getting through. The fate hinges
- 11:23Speaker 1: now on Trump's stable coin yields. I think on Trump
- 11:26Speaker 1: and stable coin yields, and I think this is the
- 11:27Speaker 1: factor right here, stable cooin yields. Rumors are that we
- 11:32Speaker 1: might have a little bit of an agreement coming out
- 11:34Speaker 1: of the White House meeting yesterday, But the crypto industry
- 11:38Speaker 1: views are diverging quite a lot here. In fact, you've
- 11:41Speaker 1: got anywhere from a twenty five to sixty percent range here.
- 11:43Speaker 1: But Ron Hammond been on our show quite a bit.
- 11:46Speaker 1: He's the head of policy over at Winter Mute. He's
- 11:48Speaker 1: saying only twenty five percent for twenty six to pass
- 11:51Speaker 1: in twenty six for clarity, So that's a big deal.
- 11:54Speaker 1: That would be huge if Clarity does not go through
- 11:57Speaker 1: this year. Let me know in the comments, guys, what
- 11:59Speaker 1: would that due to you? Would you step out of
- 12:02Speaker 1: crypto entirely would it be a great opportunity to buy
- 12:06Speaker 1: the dip and continue on because we've remember, we've operated
- 12:09Speaker 1: multiple markets without clarity in the past. How would you
- 12:12Speaker 1: play it out? Drop in some comments down below. Now
- 12:15Speaker 1: I want to go into this because this is another
- 12:17Speaker 1: pressure point on clarity that matters, and it's coming in
- 12:20Speaker 1: from the SEC.
- 12:21Speaker 2: Take a look for all that are watching. We want
- 12:25Speaker 2: to get this done. It's got to be done safely.
- 12:27Speaker 7: Since you've already addressed the fact that token ice.
- 12:29Speaker 9: Stocks are still the stocks, and the stock is a
- 12:31Speaker 9: stock is a stock.
- 12:32Speaker 2: How are we thinking about this?
- 12:33Speaker 7: What do you.
- 12:34Speaker 10: Petitional for smart contracts? So there are already developments out
- 12:39Speaker 10: there to incorporate into the token itself, AML and BSA
- 12:45Speaker 10: sort of concerns. This thirty six twenty three is on
- 12:50Speaker 10: the Ethereum blockchain is one example of that where people
- 12:56Speaker 10: are experimenting with things that are embedded.
- 12:59Speaker 9: We are okay, and I want to share my republic
- 13:02Speaker 9: colleges work.
- 13:02Speaker 2: On this as well.
- 13:03Speaker 5: Definitely want to get this right.
- 13:05Speaker 2: What do you think about self custody?
- 13:07Speaker 11: Should I be able to be a custodian of my
- 13:10Speaker 11: own digital assets?
- 13:11Speaker 7: Yes, I believe so.
- 13:12Speaker 10: I mean I think that you're you know, your writer
- 13:16Speaker 10: of your property should determine where it should be held.
- 13:19Speaker 11: A little troubling that during this entire hearing you haven't
- 13:23Speaker 11: thanked Gary Gensler for setting such a low bar for competence.
- 13:29Speaker 11: Let's I just urge my colleagues, so let's get this
- 13:33Speaker 11: bill across the finish line. The staff has spent thousands
- 13:37Speaker 11: to give you, thousands of hours getting this done, and
- 13:39Speaker 11: I think it's long overdue.
- 13:41Speaker 1: Yeah, we got to get Bernie on because he's definitely
- 13:45Speaker 1: got a full understanding of what's going on in the
- 13:47Speaker 1: market right now. That was Paul Atkins coming in from
- 13:49Speaker 1: the SEC Gensler's replacement, which he should thank him for that,
- 13:53Speaker 1: I would agree. But if you look at the Clarity
- 13:55Speaker 1: Act right now on poly market there it is sixty percent.
- 13:58Speaker 1: So maybe Paul add know something here and he understands
- 14:02Speaker 1: where the market is. He understands enough of around it.
- 14:04Speaker 1: You heard him mention Ethereum, there's a lot here. I
- 14:08Speaker 1: think that maybe people don't really completely put together as
- 14:13Speaker 1: the full puzzle of what this is going to do
- 14:15Speaker 1: for regular regulations in terms of the crypto market. It's
- 14:20Speaker 1: gonna happen, guys, It's just a matter of win. And
- 14:22Speaker 1: if all these shutdowns, remember you take away all these shutdowns,
- 14:25Speaker 1: this is probably already done.
- 14:26Speaker 2: So this is the.
- 14:27Speaker 1: Thing that we are facing right now. Standard Charter, though,
- 14:31Speaker 1: continues to downtrend on bitcoin. Bitcoin falling to fifty k
- 14:35Speaker 1: is what they see now, and around fourteen hundred for ethereum.
- 14:39Speaker 1: So let's look at the chart here, because they had
- 14:41Speaker 1: a couple of things. They had one hundred thousand bitcoin target,
- 14:45Speaker 1: which is further downgraded from the one to fifty that
- 14:48Speaker 1: was last December, and they had already cut that target
- 14:50Speaker 1: from three hundred k, all right, So they went from
- 14:53Speaker 1: three hundred to one fifty and then now to one hundred,
- 14:56Speaker 1: and you can kind of see here in the chart
- 14:58Speaker 1: literally everything has been cut over the next four or
- 15:02Speaker 1: five years. So you've got Solana bitcoinneighth in their XRP cut.
- 15:06Speaker 1: Everything's been cut considerably bnbn. Then, of course Avalanche just
- 15:10Speaker 1: shredded here all the way down to eighteen for twenty
- 15:12Speaker 1: twenty six and not much movement here. So do you
- 15:17Speaker 1: think that if we are and do not get a
- 15:20Speaker 1: clarity act, how long does this bear market last? Do
- 15:24Speaker 1: you think this is just the beginning? Does this become
- 15:26Speaker 1: a long term bear market two eighteen months to two years.
- 15:30Speaker 1: Let me know in the comments done there. Let's get
- 15:33Speaker 1: into this right here, because Matt Hogan says, don't worry
- 15:35Speaker 1: about it. I don't think it's going to last that long.
- 15:37Speaker 1: If you squint, you can probably start to see the
- 15:39Speaker 1: kind of things that will lead us out of the
- 15:40Speaker 1: bear market. I don't know about what Matt is doing
- 15:44Speaker 1: over there, but he is he's still very very bullish
- 15:48Speaker 1: on a bear market ending. I am not so bullish
- 15:51Speaker 1: on that. I think we still have down trend. There's
- 15:54Speaker 1: too much macro pressure here, too much uncertainty that is
- 15:58Speaker 1: absolutely getting the market's wrecked. I think there's going to
- 16:02Speaker 1: be some opportunities here for buying the dips, yeah, for sure.
- 16:06Speaker 1: But being able to see this narrative come out of
- 16:08Speaker 1: it is just not there. Hunter Horsley also bitwise says
- 16:11Speaker 1: the crypto narrative of this summer agents more announcements like this.
- 16:14Speaker 2: Will be coming.
- 16:16Speaker 1: I am not on the same wavelength as Hunter either.
- 16:20Speaker 1: I think agents will take some time to really get deployed.
- 16:22Speaker 1: Sure there will be some that get deployed out there,
- 16:24Speaker 1: but I hope that it does not go the way.
- 16:27Speaker 2: Of Web three, where we had Web three.
- 16:29Speaker 1: Hopium that was going to happen, and then everything literally
- 16:33Speaker 1: just imploded and all of the Web three companies in
- 16:35Speaker 1: software and gaming, all those things were impacted in a
- 16:37Speaker 1: big way. So do agents andenergentic start to get impacted
- 16:43Speaker 1: here with crypto, Let me play a clip for you
- 16:45Speaker 1: because this gets into cam Bitcoin outperform gold this year.
- 16:49Speaker 12: Take a look, Gold today has a forty one trillion
- 16:54Speaker 12: dollar total market value. Okay, that means it's bigger than
- 16:59Speaker 12: the S and P five hundred. Here, I'm highlighting that
- 17:02Speaker 12: just the intra day moving gold on January thirty first
- 17:06Speaker 12: was five point two trillion dollars. Okay, that's four times
- 17:11Speaker 12: the size of bitcoin itself. But here's the thing. Is
- 17:14Speaker 12: gold a good store of value? Forty eight percent of
- 17:17Speaker 12: the time. In the last fifty years, gold has not
- 17:21Speaker 12: stored value. It's done worse than inflation. And then since
- 17:25Speaker 12: bitcoin was created, Okay, bitcoin has only underperformed inflation five
- 17:32Speaker 12: months out of one hundred and sixty months, which means
- 17:35Speaker 12: three percent of the time. But in that same period
- 17:38Speaker 12: of time, gold underperformed inflation forty four percent of the time.
- 17:44Speaker 12: So again, I think you don't want to lose hope
- 17:46Speaker 12: in bitcoin. It's been a better store of value than gold,
- 17:49Speaker 12: even though gold has looked better in the past year.
- 17:51Speaker 12: So if you ask me in twenty twenty six, I
- 17:54Speaker 12: think gold is going to underperform bitcoin.
- 17:58Speaker 2: All right.
- 17:58Speaker 1: So from Tom Lee there you can kind of see
- 18:01Speaker 1: gold is starting to maybe reach its.
- 18:04Speaker 2: Top where we hold around five K.
- 18:05Speaker 1: Maybe that's the new top line in terms of its
- 18:08Speaker 1: floor or not. It's very possible we could still continue
- 18:12Speaker 1: to see pressure on this. If you listen to Andy Scheckman,
- 18:14Speaker 1: he talks about this all time because of the macro,
- 18:16Speaker 1: the pressure from countries and states getting away from treasuries.
- 18:19Speaker 2: And into gold.
- 18:20Speaker 1: If that continues to push on it, the dollar is
- 18:22Speaker 1: going to suffer and gold would continue to rise. Now,
- 18:26Speaker 1: does bitcoin become a new asset that can rotate in
- 18:30Speaker 1: versus a Tier one asset like gold. I just don't
- 18:33Speaker 1: know if this is the year for bitcoin to outperform gold.
- 18:36Speaker 1: Maybe I will be wrong. I'm just I'm not saying wrong.
- 18:40Speaker 1: I'm just saying I don't know if this will be
- 18:41Speaker 1: the year that it does it. Because it's so volatile
- 18:45Speaker 1: right now because of the dollar. I want to go
- 18:47Speaker 1: into a couple other points right here that Tom Lee
- 18:49Speaker 1: hit on. And just remember Tom Lee has put in
- 18:53Speaker 1: bottoms on Ether. I think three times. I can remember
- 18:57Speaker 1: one around twenty seven, then we got another twenty four.
- 19:00Speaker 1: These are from his analysts twenty four after we saw
- 19:03Speaker 1: bitcoin coming off three k like crazy, and then here
- 19:06Speaker 1: we are. Tom Demarc's signal is clear. Now he's pointing
- 19:11Speaker 1: at eighteen ninety. I think he is going to lower
- 19:14Speaker 1: this again, and this is only going to continue to
- 19:18Speaker 1: raise the stakes for what's happening over with BM and R.
- 19:21Speaker 1: Of course, one other clip I want to hit on
- 19:23Speaker 1: this is CNBC talking about crypto institutions and are they
- 19:27Speaker 1: insulated from this volatility.
- 19:29Speaker 9: Take a look, and truly behind closed doors, they're all
- 19:33Speaker 9: very optimistic. And you have to look at crypto and
- 19:36Speaker 9: you have to separate in a few different buckets. There's Bitcoin,
- 19:39Speaker 9: and we can debate the right price for bitcoin, but
- 19:42Speaker 9: not the fact that it's here to stay.
- 19:43Speaker 7: And then there's this.
- 19:45Speaker 9: Kind of element that I described to you of like
- 19:48Speaker 9: very high leverage speculative assets. Then there's stuff that's working,
- 19:53Speaker 9: really really.
- 19:54Speaker 7: Working, has utility in the world.
- 19:56Speaker 9: Think stable coins, think n chain financial applications, You may
- 20:00Speaker 9: be familiar with some of them, but like I'll pick
- 20:02Speaker 9: a UNI swap for example, And on the layer one blockchains,
- 20:05Speaker 9: layer one blockchains like Solana or layer one blockchains.
- 20:07Speaker 7: Like Ethereum, those are all working.
- 20:10Speaker 9: And then fourth and final is what's coming, and that's
- 20:12Speaker 9: this tokenization wave that everybody's preparing for. It's going to
- 20:16Speaker 9: be a twenty year wave. You would think as participation
- 20:20Speaker 9: has pulled back that stable coin balances would pull back.
- 20:22Speaker 7: No, not at all. Stable coins have state debts.
- 20:25Speaker 9: In fact, they've even gained one or two percent in
- 20:28Speaker 9: terms of market share. So stable coins are working. Tokenization
- 20:32Speaker 9: is also working. We talk a lot about.
- 20:35Speaker 7: It, Oh, is it gonna come? Is it gonna happen?
- 20:36Speaker 7: It's happening.
- 20:37Speaker 9: Where we're already seeing assets going chain US equities really
- 20:41Speaker 9: is the first big start money market funds all around
- 20:44Speaker 9: the world, and many many more coming here in twenty
- 20:46Speaker 9: twenty six.
- 20:47Speaker 1: Well stable to correct, stable coins are considerably more in
- 20:51Speaker 1: terms of growth.
- 20:53Speaker 2: Compared to where he has gone.
- 20:54Speaker 1: He is right in the sense that Wall Street continues
- 20:57Speaker 1: to be very bullish on this. But remember be bullish
- 21:00Speaker 1: when a market is trending down and you know that
- 21:04Speaker 1: the upside is so great of what blockchain is going
- 21:07Speaker 1: to bring to Wall Street. So I get that institutions
- 21:11Speaker 1: will continue to push on this. The thing that I'm
- 21:14Speaker 1: interested in is how is retail going to be inserted
- 21:16Speaker 1: into this? Where do they start to really play into this. Well,
- 21:19Speaker 1: mister Beast could be the way that this all happens,
- 21:23Speaker 1: because remember we talked about BM and R investing two
- 21:25Speaker 1: hundred million into mister Beast and what he's doing from
- 21:29Speaker 1: a finance company side, He's been doing a couple of acquisitions,
- 21:33Speaker 1: so right now it could be the next finance giant,
- 21:36Speaker 1: maybe for gen Z. That might be the entry point
- 21:39Speaker 1: for this next generation. And remember it's been done before.
- 21:42Speaker 1: It was done by Slat or excuse me, done by
- 21:44Speaker 1: Robinhood in the past. And if you look at Robinhood,
- 21:47Speaker 1: they're trying to go out and one up of what's
- 21:50Speaker 1: happening for the centralized exchanges around the social side. Remember
- 21:55Speaker 1: Coinbase just dumped their social platform out of base. Robinhood
- 21:59Speaker 1: here this they're going and doubling down on this. Vlad
- 22:03Speaker 1: comes in and says robin and Social is launching it
- 22:05Speaker 1: in a couple of weeks with whale tracking, so usually
- 22:07Speaker 1: can follow on copy trades. This would be interesting if
- 22:11Speaker 1: we start to see more activity on I'm curious, does
- 22:14Speaker 1: robinhood become a true new social five platform that you
- 22:18Speaker 1: would use? Would you use Robinhood if you had more
- 22:21Speaker 1: social fi applications that were inside the app itself.
- 22:25Speaker 2: Let me know if you would.
- 22:26Speaker 1: Does that become your centralized exchange for trading crypto because
- 22:31Speaker 1: there's a lot of challenges I've seen with it, and
- 22:34Speaker 1: maybe some of those things will be lifted here in
- 22:36Speaker 1: the future.
- 22:36Speaker 2: All Right, guys, we're going to cover this.
- 22:38Speaker 1: In a whole lot more so it's going to be
- 22:39Speaker 1: a very interesting week as we move into clarity very soon.
