Transcript
- 0:04Speaker 1: Now the Guardian Angel of talk radio is here. Curtis
- 0:09Speaker 1: sleewa guest host the Mark Simone Show on seven to
- 0:13Speaker 1: ten Woo. I'm substituting from Marx Simone. I appreciate the
- 0:17Speaker 1: opportunity that program director Tom Cuddy and Mark have given
- 0:21Speaker 1: me again here at iHeart, so that my voice could
- 0:25Speaker 1: be heard and your voice could be heard. But understand this,
- 0:29Speaker 1: if you've ever heard me in talk radio, as Crash
- 0:32Speaker 1: has forced to listen, he had no choice, he was
- 0:35Speaker 1: the board operator. I always question authority. I'm not part
- 0:41Speaker 1: of the chorus. And if you're waking up or you
- 0:45Speaker 1: just went out and had your cup cool fee and
- 0:49Speaker 1: your Danish, that's very important, that word Danish. Because the
- 0:56Speaker 1: lead story is absolutely mind. Our President Donald Trump has
- 1:02Speaker 1: lost it. He's gone cuckoo for cocoal puffs. He wants greenland,
- 1:09Speaker 1: really greenland. Yeah, we're ready to go to the war
- 1:13Speaker 1: to get Greenland. Let me explain how this has gone
- 1:17Speaker 1: completely absurd because there are so many of you out there.
- 1:22Speaker 1: Just like there are Democrats who can justify anything the
- 1:25Speaker 1: Democrats say do, there are Republicans out there, especially those
- 1:29Speaker 1: who are maga, who can justify anything that Trump says
- 1:33Speaker 1: or does, but this is completely nuts. So today is
- 1:39Speaker 1: the start of the World Economic Forum at Dovels in Switzerland.
- 1:44Speaker 1: All the richest, all the world leaders of the Fortune
- 1:49Speaker 1: five hundred companies and obviously of nations will be there
- 1:55Speaker 1: and what they call a spirited dialogue. Let's know, spirited.
- 1:59Speaker 1: Dieg here, what are you talking about? You're heard in
- 2:03Speaker 1: the lead story that even the Canadians are saying they're
- 2:08Speaker 1: going to send troops to Greenland to protect their sovereignty
- 2:12Speaker 1: against the potential invasion by the United States. That alone
- 2:16Speaker 1: sounds crazy. Reminds me of the movie Canadian Bacon, you
- 2:20Speaker 1: remember with John Candy. We'll get into that. I'll make
- 2:22Speaker 1: all the links. And that the President of the United States,
- 2:27Speaker 1: the most powerful man in the world, apparently over the weekend,
- 2:33Speaker 1: in the aftermath of major demonstrations against the United States
- 2:40Speaker 1: in Greenland. Who would have ever thought there'd be demonstrations
- 2:44Speaker 1: other than by reindeer in Greenland and in Denmark. Who
- 2:48Speaker 1: has been our best ally in Europe, not a fair
- 2:52Speaker 1: weathered friend, who lost troops in Afghanistan fighting side by
- 2:57Speaker 1: side with the Americans and in Iraq when some other
- 3:01Speaker 1: countries would not send their own troops. And by the way,
- 3:04Speaker 1: in the invasion of Iraq in two thousand and three,
- 3:10Speaker 1: remember how all of a sudden we were so upset
- 3:12Speaker 1: with the French they wouldn't send troops that we decided
- 3:15Speaker 1: to rename French fries Freedom fries. How did that work out? Right?
- 3:19Speaker 1: When's the last time you went to a diner you
- 3:22Speaker 1: had a cheeseburg special and you say, man, hold those
- 3:25Speaker 1: French fries, I want American fries. That was the dumbest
- 3:30Speaker 1: invasion for weapons of mass destruction, right, we're still looking
- 3:34Speaker 1: for those weapons of mass destruction. What a mess in
- 3:37Speaker 1: Iraq we created, Dick Cheney Bush forty three. But oh yeah,
- 3:43Speaker 1: we were gonna align ourselves because Dick Cheney had convinced
- 3:49Speaker 1: us that it was really set out Hussein who had
- 3:54Speaker 1: launched the attack against the World Trade Center. At least
- 3:56Speaker 1: he wanted people to know that and not al Qaeda.
- 4:05Speaker 1: This is nuts, This is all over again. And I'm
- 4:07Speaker 1: gonna give you all an opportunity to weigh in, especially
- 4:10Speaker 1: those who want to defend the president in this madness
- 4:15Speaker 1: to basically take Greenland by all means possible. And there's
- 4:19Speaker 1: a history of this, and we're gonna go through that
- 4:21Speaker 1: because typically, you know, when you haven't talk shows, and
- 4:24Speaker 1: that's why it gives me a headache. After a while,
- 4:26Speaker 1: it's like a repeat cycle. They just repeat themselves over
- 4:29Speaker 1: and over and over instead of saying no, no, no
- 4:31Speaker 1: question authority. This does not make sense. Stand up to authority.
- 4:39Speaker 1: If it don't sound right, I guarantee you it ain't right.
- 4:44Speaker 1: So let's get those phone lines singing and ringing. Here
- 4:48Speaker 1: the station that I listen to now as often as
- 4:51Speaker 1: I can with my wife Nancy seven to ten woor
- 4:54Speaker 1: are the voice in New York eight hundred three two
- 4:57Speaker 1: one zero seven ten. That's eight hundred and three two
- 5:01Speaker 1: one zero seven ten. And let me tell you, I
- 5:06Speaker 1: guarantee you the next thing that the President of the
- 5:09Speaker 1: United States will do is issue a ten percent tariff
- 5:13Speaker 1: on any Danish that we eat in the United States.
- 5:16Speaker 1: That's right, be prepared for this crash. Actually, a couple
- 5:20Speaker 1: of core fee and your order of Danish. By the way,
- 5:22Speaker 1: my favorite is Alman Apple. I had one this morning
- 5:25Speaker 1: in support of Denmark. Is this nuts? Now? What is it?
- 5:32Speaker 1: You're like accustod Danish or fruit Danish, your sweet Danny.
- 5:35Speaker 1: You know the origin of it is comes from Denmark,
- 5:38Speaker 1: you know, back to the Vikings, the Norseman Eric de
- 5:41Speaker 1: red Lee Ferrison. Yeah, we're gonna get into all of that.
- 5:45Speaker 1: How Greenland was first colonized even though they had their
- 5:49Speaker 1: own indigenous people there. You know, we always called hey, yeah,
- 5:52Speaker 1: we colonize it. We found that, we discovered it. Yeah,
- 5:55Speaker 1: there were people they were already from actually went Norway
- 6:01Speaker 1: to Denmark, to Iceland, to Greenland, to Hollyfox, to Newfoundland
- 6:06Speaker 1: to Prince Edward Island, to the Maritime provinces where apparently
- 6:11Speaker 1: Leif Erickson left a little bit of uh we'll call
- 6:16Speaker 1: it a squat, and then it disappeared over time, like
- 6:20Speaker 1: five hundred years before. Christopher Columbus in fourteen ninety two,
- 6:24Speaker 1: right went west in order to discover East with a Nina,
- 6:28Speaker 1: the Pinter, the Santa the Maria. Yes, I know, crash,
- 6:30Speaker 1: I know you say, the Nina, the Pinter, the Santa Maria.
- 6:33Speaker 1: None of there were four ships, trust me on that. Anyway,
- 6:39Speaker 1: this is crazy. I'm let's see you all morning. Look.
- 6:43Speaker 1: Oh yeah, you know, hey, yeah, this makes sense. Hell,
- 6:47Speaker 1: the United States, we need Greenland for our own security,
- 6:51Speaker 1: of the world's security. Really, really, what eight hundred three
- 6:56Speaker 1: two one zero seven ten. It's one eight hundred three
- 6:59Speaker 1: to two one zero sevent ten. I'd love some of
- 7:01Speaker 1: you armchair experts wherever you are off you're happen to
- 7:05Speaker 1: be in your car, if you're happen to be in
- 7:06Speaker 1: an eighteen wheelchack to trailer, if you happen to be
- 7:09Speaker 1: listening online, if you happen to be at home, and
- 7:12Speaker 1: you can tell you, oh yeah, this is priority number one.
- 7:16Speaker 1: We must take Greenland by all means necessary. Crash it is.
- 7:23Speaker 1: I'm telling you this is right out of the movie
- 7:25Speaker 1: Canadian Bacon. Remember nineteen ninety five. This was Michael Moore
- 7:28Speaker 1: made that movie with Yard Candy, Remember Allen Halt. And
- 7:33Speaker 1: now Canada is gonna send truths to Greenland and helped
- 7:36Speaker 1: protect its sovereignty against who putin president She who's on first,
- 7:44Speaker 1: I don't know, is on second belly slide into third
- 7:47Speaker 1: from Red China now against us? Is this not nuts?
- 7:55Speaker 1: So I want you, in support of the Danes, to
- 7:57Speaker 1: go out there and buy as many Danish as you
- 8:01Speaker 1: can before the President of the United States at Davos
- 8:04Speaker 1: in Switzerland imposes eight ten percent tariff on all the
- 8:08Speaker 1: Danish shit we eat. Here in the United States. I
- 8:10Speaker 1: certainly had my Almend Apple Danish this morning and I
- 8:14Speaker 1: felt so good, so nourished, and I'm looking at television. Yeah,
- 8:20Speaker 1: we're gonna talk about what's going on in Minneapolis. I've
- 8:22Speaker 1: been there many years. I know that city like the
- 8:25Speaker 1: back of my hand. And there is a connection here Lutherans.
- 8:27Speaker 1: Oh yeah, Lutherans. It came about in the Scandinavian countries.
- 8:32Speaker 1: They ended up occupying Minnesota. They're more Lutherans there than
- 8:35Speaker 1: anywhere else in the United States. I'll make the linkage there.
- 8:38Speaker 1: But no, no, no, let's stay focused on this absolute nutty
- 8:44Speaker 1: situation that the President of the United States is getting
- 8:47Speaker 1: us into. So apparently Donald Trump, in advance to going
- 8:53Speaker 1: to Davos in Switzerland with all the billionaires and kazillionaires
- 8:58Speaker 1: and the masters of the universe, texted the Prime Minister
- 9:04Speaker 1: of Norway that he no longer felt obliged to think
- 9:09Speaker 1: purely of peace and that the world would not be
- 9:14Speaker 1: secure until America controlled Greenland. And he claims, as a
- 9:23Speaker 1: real estate guy would or a landward, where's the deed.
- 9:26Speaker 1: I want to see the deed that Denmark has to
- 9:30Speaker 1: say that the land of Queenland is theirs to occupy.
- 9:36Speaker 1: Apparently the President didn't do very well in the history
- 9:39Speaker 1: when he went to Fordham University, when he went to
- 9:43Speaker 1: Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania, or
- 9:47Speaker 1: even to the New York Military Academy of State when
- 9:50Speaker 1: his father Fred sent him there. By the way, another
- 9:52Speaker 1: person who went there, his father couldn't control them. When
- 9:56Speaker 1: you can't control your son's where do you send them?
- 9:58Speaker 1: Crash to a military academy used to be Lesal out
- 10:02Speaker 1: in Long Island. They had the cousin ust Wing out there.
- 10:05Speaker 1: These were fathers who couldn't control their sons, so they
- 10:07Speaker 1: sent him out there. But it's like boarding school. John
- 10:10Speaker 1: Gotti Jr. Was sent up to the New York Military
- 10:12Speaker 1: Academy in the Hudson Valley by yes, John Gotti Senior,
- 10:15Speaker 1: who could not control the sun. But let's push that aside.
- 10:21Speaker 1: And then the President goes into this wret to the
- 10:26Speaker 1: Prime Ministuff of Norway. And by the way, I want
- 10:31Speaker 1: my Nobel Peace Prize that Norway controls. Anybody explained to
- 10:37Speaker 1: the Presidental maybe they're so afraid to talk to him
- 10:39Speaker 1: in the White House that Norway the country does not
- 10:43Speaker 1: control the Nobel Peace Prize Committee, and that he already
- 10:48Speaker 1: got his Nobel Peace Prize when all of a sudden
- 10:53Speaker 1: Maria Corina Machado visited him. Who should have been the
- 10:58Speaker 1: duly elected president and part of the administration of Venezuela.
- 11:02Speaker 1: With our takeover there by the way, all that oil
- 11:06Speaker 1: that we've seized, now six oil tankers crash. You know
- 11:08Speaker 1: where the money's gonna go once we sell it. It's
- 11:11Speaker 1: not gonna go into a bank in the United States,
- 11:13Speaker 1: of which there are many. We're banking it in Qatar. Now,
- 11:18Speaker 1: why would we be putting the proceeds from the six
- 11:22Speaker 1: oil tankers that we have seized and a bank in Qatar.
- 11:28Speaker 1: I might as well put it in a bank in
- 11:30Speaker 1: Switzerland that came in islands, Panama, out of sight, out
- 11:35Speaker 1: of mind, or maybe even Dubai. That's where a lot
- 11:39Speaker 1: of money laudering gets none. I've been to all these places, okay,
- 11:43Speaker 1: and nobody is asking these questions. Nobody If a Democrat
- 11:49Speaker 1: asked them all, that's because you hate Trump. But if
- 11:52Speaker 1: you're independent and autonomous and you're not just a sickle fan,
- 11:56Speaker 1: toty or lackey, why would you not ask these questions,
- 12:01Speaker 1: Is this not the nuttiest thing you've ever heard and
- 12:05Speaker 1: seen over the weekend in the streets of Copenhagen. That's right,
- 12:10Speaker 1: they weren't having their Ludifish crash. Oh no, I'm in
- 12:13Speaker 1: the Copenhagen Ludafish You know. Your take used to be
- 12:15Speaker 1: the ferry over from Gothenburg, Sweden, where I have the
- 12:19Speaker 1: Guardian Angels, and everybody be drunk on that ferry and
- 12:22Speaker 1: vomiting over into the North Sea there. Now they got
- 12:25Speaker 1: the bridge. They were protesting against the United States in Greenland,
- 12:32Speaker 1: protesting against United States. This is crazy. The most loyal
- 12:43Speaker 1: European country, Denmark, would send troops, unfortunately to Iraq for
- 12:50Speaker 1: a fake war for weapons of mass destruction. They lost
- 12:54Speaker 1: men in battle in Iraq. They lost men in battle
- 12:58Speaker 1: serving with Americans in Afghanistan. And this is how we
- 13:01Speaker 1: reward them. We ch didn't like fair weather friends. Up next,
- 13:07Speaker 1: I'm gonna have to take you on a little history
- 13:08Speaker 1: lesson about Greenland, its origin, Lee Ferriics and Eric the
- 13:14Speaker 1: Red pay Ridge Sunset park. Boy. I'm gonna tie it
- 13:18Speaker 1: all up in a neat bundle, and I can't wait
- 13:22Speaker 1: to talk to all of you who just want to
- 13:25Speaker 1: join that chorus and say, yeah, you now Trump here
- 13:29Speaker 1: it has a reason to do this, shaking the sword,
- 13:32Speaker 1: threatening war. The Canada is sending its troops to Greenland
- 13:38Speaker 1: to protect the reindeer from who Russia, Red China, No
- 13:44Speaker 1: an evasion by the United States. Three to two, one
- 13:51Speaker 1: zero seven ten. Let's talk radio like you've never had before.
- 13:54Speaker 1: Come on, let's face it been doing this for thirty
- 13:57Speaker 1: five years. I'll be damned if I'm gonna come on
- 14:00Speaker 1: to a great station like wor the Voice in New
- 14:02Speaker 1: York seven ten and just lip sync what everybody else
- 14:06Speaker 1: is saying. Hell, no, think for yourself, question authority, This
- 14:12Speaker 1: is nuts. But you gotta line up behind our president
- 14:16Speaker 1: Donald Trump at Davos. He's gonna be there with all
- 14:20Speaker 1: the billionaires, kazillionaires, masters of the universe. Leaders are what
- 14:24Speaker 1: we call first world countries. In Switzerland, which was always
- 14:29Speaker 1: famous for being neutral and where you could hide money
- 14:33Speaker 1: in a Swiss bank account and of also Swiss miss
- 14:38Speaker 1: hot chocolate. You know, the hawk is talking, it's getting
- 14:41Speaker 1: cold out there, It's gonna get colder, and it so
- 14:44Speaker 1: reminds me of Greenland. I don't think they've ever had
- 14:48Speaker 1: a demonstration in Greenland before but over the weekend, we
- 14:52Speaker 1: are not for sale and signs up with their reindeers.
- 14:56Speaker 1: No means no. That's something that Andrew Cuomo never understood, right,
- 15:01Speaker 1: No means no. Uh, Yankee go home, Yankee go home.
- 15:07Speaker 1: As if we were talking about a third world country
- 15:10Speaker 1: in Central or South America. Greenland is already great. Hands
- 15:15Speaker 1: off us, say make America go away. These were demonstrations
- 15:20Speaker 1: against US in Greenland and in our best ally in Europe, Denmark,
- 15:27Speaker 1: in Copenhagen, and they're all scratching their heads and saying,
- 15:31Speaker 1: what you know, with part of NATO, you want to
- 15:34Speaker 1: hit us with a ten percent tariff. These tariffs are ridiculous.
- 15:38Speaker 1: The US Senate needs to grow a pair. That's their
- 15:41Speaker 1: responsibility and saying no, we have the responsibility to issue tariffs.
- 15:46Speaker 1: You know, everybody wants to talk about James Monroe, the
- 15:49Speaker 1: Monroe Doctrine, now called the don doctrine by President Trump. No, no, No,
- 15:53Speaker 1: The more important president is James Madison, who created the
- 15:57Speaker 1: balance in government because he said, you cannot trust any
- 16:01Speaker 1: group of individuals to make decisions that are beneficial to
- 16:05Speaker 1: the people. There has to be checks and balances that
- 16:08Speaker 1: the guy who wrote the Constitution, the guy who wrote
- 16:10Speaker 1: the Bill of Rights. Maybe some of you out there
- 16:12Speaker 1: want to do away with the Constitution, do away with
- 16:14Speaker 1: the Bill of Rights. This is nuts. I'm sure right
- 16:21Speaker 1: now someone in Hollywood is planning on creating a movie.
- 16:27Speaker 1: We had Canadian Bacon, you remember, in nineteen ninety five,
- 16:30Speaker 1: done by yes, Michael Moore, the documentarian. But this was
- 16:33Speaker 1: a movie with John Candy. Do you remember Crash as
- 16:37Speaker 1: Sheriff Bud Boomer, who was absorbing all the propaganda campaign
- 16:43Speaker 1: to villify Canada by Alan Alter, the president who needed
- 16:49Speaker 1: who needed a boost in his popularity, although it had
- 16:52Speaker 1: nothing to do with the midterm elections. I was rai
- 16:55Speaker 1: a pro man. I remember Jim Blushy ripped torn Dan Ackleroyd,
- 17:00Speaker 1: now all the Canadian actors. That was a great movie.
- 17:03Speaker 1: And remember the headline, help America fight the Canadians. Well
- 17:11Speaker 1: wait a second, you know recently Trump did that when
- 17:14Speaker 1: Trudeau was still the Prime minister. Hopelessly liberal. He said
- 17:18Speaker 1: he wanted to annext Canada and make it the fifty
- 17:21Speaker 1: first state. He said Canada will dissolve without the USA. Well, then,
- 17:28Speaker 1: as I gotta tell you, I'm out in the streets.
- 17:30Speaker 1: Every day you go to Times Square, you get a
- 17:32Speaker 1: pretty good lit mustache. Of the tourists who are coming in.
- 17:35Speaker 1: Tourism is down. The one group that always used to come,
- 17:38Speaker 1: that love coming to New York City, Canadians. Yeah, they're
- 17:41Speaker 1: not coming that much anymore. I wonder why, what is
- 17:47Speaker 1: wrong with our president? What happened to America? First? You know,
- 17:52Speaker 1: let's take care of things here in the USA course
- 17:55Speaker 1: of living. I mean, the affordability for America. Let's focus
- 18:02Speaker 1: on America first. Now it's America wants to rule the world.
- 18:07Speaker 1: And I don't know about some of you, maybe you're
- 18:11Speaker 1: all into this. Maybe whatever way the president goes, you're
- 18:15Speaker 1: on board. You're like high fiving him for this. And
- 18:20Speaker 1: you know, there wasn't the attempt think back. A lot
- 18:22Speaker 1: of you aren't thinking back. He's always had this obsession
- 18:25Speaker 1: with greenland. In his first term of office, he wanted Greenland.
- 18:30Speaker 1: And remember I think it was right after Hurricane Maria.
- 18:35Speaker 1: Oh yeah, Hurricane Maria that was like twenty seventeen and
- 18:39Speaker 1: the like devastated Puerto Rico. And he goes, ah, that's
- 18:42Speaker 1: costing us too much money to repair Puerto Rico. You know,
- 18:46Speaker 1: they've had an earthquake, they've had hurricane. Why don't we
- 18:49Speaker 1: just swap Greenland for Puerto Rico? I'm asking you right now,
- 18:54Speaker 1: in this arctic fritage, where would you rather be crashed
- 18:58Speaker 1: in Puerto Rico or Greenland? I think we know where
- 19:01Speaker 1: most Americans would go, Puerto Rico. And I remember he
- 19:06Speaker 1: had his fellow classmate it Wharton School of Business, Ron Lauder,
- 19:10Speaker 1: you know, the cosmetics guy who had known Trump quite well,
- 19:15Speaker 1: will in New York, and he tried to convince President
- 19:20Speaker 1: Trump at the time of his first term. I think
- 19:23Speaker 1: it was twenty seventeen or twenty eighteen, swap Puerto Rico
- 19:28Speaker 1: for Greenland. This unbelievable obsession with Greenland, unbelievable obsession in
- 19:36Speaker 1: having a Nobel Peace Prize, and an unbelievable obsession of
- 19:41Speaker 1: not knowing the history of Eric the redleaf Erickson, how
- 19:49Speaker 1: the Norsemen actually went west and they weren't trying to
- 19:52Speaker 1: find the east like Christopher Columbus five hundred years later.
- 19:56Speaker 1: And you know we could learn all this the annual
- 19:59Speaker 1: per Oh yeah, bay Ridge, you had no did you
- 20:02Speaker 1: know that crash? You know they have the Norwegian Parade
- 20:05Speaker 1: there up third fourth Avenue in honor of Leef Ferricks,
- 20:08Speaker 1: And they stopped in the park there at like sixty
- 20:11Speaker 1: eighth and Eric the read, Oh, quite a story. Maybe
- 20:16Speaker 1: Americans need to go back and study history and understand
- 20:21Speaker 1: why our president couldn't be more hopelessly wrong on this.
- 20:26Speaker 1: So you can rise to the occasion, you could explain
- 20:29Speaker 1: to me on this your time to be heard. Why
- 20:33Speaker 1: as the President has told the Prime Minister of Norway,
- 20:38Speaker 1: which by the way, has nothing at all to do
- 20:41Speaker 1: with Greenland, that it is up to us to seize
- 20:45Speaker 1: Greenland the United States to provide security for the world. Yeah,
- 20:54Speaker 1: and have I heard anybody challenge it other than Democrats?
- 20:58Speaker 1: Obviously they'll challenge everything that Trump said. No, no, no,
- 21:00Speaker 1: you know, fellow Republicans, independence people who believe that you
- 21:07Speaker 1: process information of it. It don't sound right. I guarantee
- 21:11Speaker 1: you it ain't right. One eight hundred three to two
- 21:14Speaker 1: one zero seven ten. That's one eight hundred three two
- 21:18Speaker 1: one zero seven ten. Curtis Leewan from Mark Simone today
- 21:22Speaker 1: on the Voice of New York my favorite station now
- 21:25Speaker 1: and Nancy my wife w R sevent ten. They love
- 21:29Speaker 1: in the Scandinavian countries, So ludifis the fiscal balls because
- 21:32Speaker 1: there's going to be a ten percent tariff imposed on that.
- 21:36Speaker 1: Is this crazy? Yes?
- 21:38Speaker 2: It is?
- 21:40Speaker 1: Was it crazy that I was stuck in Hurricane Noel
- 21:44Speaker 1: in Halifax in November of two thousand and seven crash
- 21:47Speaker 1: two thousand and seven organizing Guardian Angels. A hurricane hits,
- 21:53Speaker 1: everybody is grounded. At that time, Citadel owned WABS. They
- 22:00Speaker 1: had just fired Ron Koby. I was part of the
- 22:02Speaker 1: morning show. They kept me overnight syndicated. They got rid
- 22:06Speaker 1: of Kobe and they brought in Imus, who started the
- 22:09Speaker 1: beginning of the next year two thousand and eight. This
- 22:12Speaker 1: all happened while he was in a Halifax. So while
- 22:15Speaker 1: I'm there, there's nothing to do, you're getting hit by
- 22:17Speaker 1: a hurricane. I'm getting these historians who are coming up
- 22:21Speaker 1: to me and saying, oh, you know, Curtis. You know
- 22:24Speaker 1: it was Eric the Red from Norway. Why did they
- 22:27Speaker 1: call him Eric the Red because he he was dressed
- 22:29Speaker 1: and ready, he had all red hair. He got exiled
- 22:32Speaker 1: from Norway because he killed a bunch of guys. He
- 22:35Speaker 1: got charged with manslaughter, so they sent him to Iceland.
- 22:39Speaker 1: They banned them from Norway. Remember he was a Viking
- 22:42Speaker 1: at that time Norseman. Then his son is Leif Ericson,
- 22:47Speaker 1: and his son kills some guys in Iceland and he
- 22:51Speaker 1: gets banned from manslaughter. So he's got to go west,
- 22:56Speaker 1: not to find the east the Columbus did five hundred
- 22:59Speaker 1: years later, and he lands along with his daddy, Eric
- 23:02Speaker 1: the Read, in what we now know is Greenland. That's
- 23:06Speaker 1: how long ago. This is like a thousand after the
- 23:09Speaker 1: death of Christ. And then he gets into a fight
- 23:14Speaker 1: with his father, Eric the Red, who believes in Odin,
- 23:18Speaker 1: the Norse god, and leif Erickson has become a Christian,
- 23:22Speaker 1: so they part company and leif Erckson continues that voyage
- 23:26Speaker 1: going west. And what does he land in Newfoundland? You know,
- 23:30Speaker 1: not far from Prince Edward Island, Halifax, where I was.
- 23:32Speaker 1: So I learned this whole history. And they showed where
- 23:36Speaker 1: his encampment was on a map. And you know, every
- 23:41Speaker 1: year if you go to bay Ridge, I'm in bay
- 23:43Speaker 1: Ridge constantly. They have the Norwegian Day Parade. It's May seventeenth.
- 23:48Speaker 1: My dad used to call them squareheads because he said
- 23:51Speaker 1: the Norwegians were the best seamen ever. And my dad
- 23:53Speaker 1: was a merchant, seeming close to fifty years. So they
- 23:55Speaker 1: call them squareheads because they would have always squared the map,
- 23:58Speaker 1: and they lived in Sunset Park in Bay Ridge. And
- 24:01Speaker 1: that parade ends at leef Ericckson Park at sixty seventh
- 24:04Speaker 1: and third. So that's a little bit of the history
- 24:09Speaker 1: of how Denmark is involved in this, and Scandinavian countries
- 24:16Speaker 1: and Iceland and Greenland and not the United States, which
- 24:22Speaker 1: has access to Greenland to do almost whatever we want
- 24:25Speaker 1: with our ally who's been there so sick and ten
- 24:29Speaker 1: for us and numbers one eight hundred and three to
- 24:33Speaker 1: one zero seven ten. Let's quickly go to Bob, who
- 24:38Speaker 1: I believe is calling from Connecticut. Your turn to be
- 24:40Speaker 1: heard here at seven ten wo or Bob.
- 24:44Speaker 3: Jake Curtis, thanks for taking my call. I think you
- 24:47Speaker 3: should be the mayor of New York.
- 24:48Speaker 1: Let me ask you a question before before you patronize
- 24:51Speaker 1: me about you should be the mayor of New York.
- 24:54Speaker 1: You said, thank you for taking my call. I have
- 24:58Speaker 1: just spent like twenty minutes giving the number out. I
- 25:03Speaker 1: should be thanking you for calling up, not oh, I
- 25:07Speaker 1: know Bob in Connecticut here. I'm gonna take your call first. Okay,
- 25:10Speaker 1: let's square that away.
- 25:11Speaker 3: Okay, you're right, Okay, I accept your thanks, You're welcome.
- 25:16Speaker 3: I just want to say this is just one man's opinion, Like,
- 25:20Speaker 3: why shouldn't we have Greenland. It's a gigantic track of
- 25:24Speaker 3: basically barren land, and there's like ice and rocks, it's nothing.
- 25:30Speaker 3: There's only fifty thousand people there. We can make much
- 25:33Speaker 3: better use of it than Denmark. What does Denmark want
- 25:36Speaker 3: with it?
- 25:37Speaker 2: Let me?
- 25:37Speaker 1: Yeah, well do we apply that to every land mass
- 25:43Speaker 1: in the world. You know, there are special minerals deep
- 25:46Speaker 1: underneath the tundra of Greenland that are worth billions and
- 25:50Speaker 1: billions of dollars, Just like that oil in Venezuela. You know,
- 25:54Speaker 1: we went in, we took to the oil. We're now
- 25:56Speaker 1: banking the money from the sale of the oil in
- 25:59Speaker 1: the six oil tankers that we've seized in Qatar. Does
- 26:02Speaker 1: that bother you that we're banking it in Qatar and
- 26:05Speaker 1: not any content not in a bank in the United States? Bob,
- 26:10Speaker 1: do you question that I have? Oh yeah, that sounds
- 26:14Speaker 1: weird to me.
- 26:14Speaker 2: I have no idea.
- 26:15Speaker 1: Okay, but don't don't you think that all of us
- 26:18Speaker 1: as citizens will pay our taxes. Many of us who
- 26:22Speaker 1: vote we have a right to be heard and say, wait,
- 26:24Speaker 1: wait about a second. But seizing all the oil in Venezuela,
- 26:28Speaker 1: I get it. We're going to help Venezuela down the line.
- 26:31Speaker 1: But in the meantime, whatever money comes in from the
- 26:34Speaker 1: sale of the oil, the six oil tankers that we've seized,
- 26:39Speaker 1: we're going to put in a bank in Qatar.
- 26:43Speaker 2: Yeah, that's weird.
- 26:46Speaker 1: A tariff, tariffs ridiculous.
- 26:49Speaker 3: They get a better interest rate on the money.
- 26:51Speaker 1: Yeah, it's called money laundering. Well, okay, okay, you accept that.
- 26:59Speaker 2: I don't.
- 27:00Speaker 1: I don't know, you know, I can't. I ask questions,
- 27:05Speaker 1: Oh my god, does it make sense? Why Qatar? Why
- 27:10Speaker 1: not in the United States? How many banks do we
- 27:12Speaker 1: have here? But you see, you can't keep track of
- 27:16Speaker 1: money in Qatar or a Dubai, a Switzerland, and a
- 27:19Speaker 1: Panama or the Cayman Islands. That's where you go to
- 27:23Speaker 1: lawndon money. I'm not suggesting we're laundering money, but why Katar?
- 27:30Speaker 1: Inquiring minds want to know. Let's go to Danny, who's
- 27:35Speaker 1: calling from Long Island. Your turn to be heard here
- 27:38Speaker 1: at seven to ten, wr Danny.
- 27:41Speaker 2: Well time, Curtis fans. This we first laid eyes on
- 27:44Speaker 2: each other. I was walking up beating Times Square in
- 27:46Speaker 2: nineteen eighty six. You were in the back of my
- 27:48Speaker 2: brother's street time cab looking happy, good times, Curtis good,
- 27:52Speaker 2: we're getting old. Well, listen, this is pure Trump. One
- 27:56Speaker 2: of his biggest pet peeves is NATO. Well, who's sending
- 27:59Speaker 2: troops to Green Now, Canada, Finland, the French they're gonna
- 28:03Speaker 2: end up defending You don't need You don't need a
- 28:05Speaker 2: hundred thousand troops on NATO to defend it. You need
- 28:08Speaker 2: one little base with some soldiers, put a little port there.
- 28:11Speaker 2: The American ships can come land and guess what, Now
- 28:14Speaker 2: it's defended because you can't. You can't. You can't annex
- 28:18Speaker 2: any country, whether it's China or the United States, if
- 28:21Speaker 2: there's troops from another country sitting there, like just like Taiwan.
- 28:24Speaker 2: They're not aving Taiwan because of the American soldiers there, not
- 28:27Speaker 2: enough to defend the place, but it would be an
- 28:28Speaker 2: international scene. So this is pure Trump. He's getting these Europeans.
- 28:32Speaker 2: They don't want to do a damn thing. He's got
- 28:34Speaker 2: them all rallied against Trump. And now what are they doing?
- 28:38Speaker 2: Exactly what he wants them to do. Defend Greenland, not
- 28:41Speaker 2: from Russia but from China. They're all over there with
- 28:44Speaker 2: their basis, just like we sawt purchasing Alaska was a disaster.
- 28:48Speaker 2: Steward Ice Box hundred. Hold on question, Dan, Go ahead, Curtis.
- 28:53Speaker 1: This is all a pre plan Trump in the White House. Yeah,
- 28:59Speaker 1: let's go them into sending troops into Greenland. I don't
- 29:04Speaker 1: know the stent. We already have a base in Greenland.
- 29:06Speaker 1: We've had bases there before. We have an open invitation
- 29:10Speaker 1: to set up bases wherever we want. You don't think
- 29:13Speaker 1: this is about the mineral deposits underneath the tundra that
- 29:17Speaker 1: is now surfacing as the ice and the glaciers are melting, Curtis.
- 29:22Speaker 2: Everything is about minerals and oil and everything, and this
- 29:26Speaker 2: is just one place that the Chinese would like to have.
- 29:29Speaker 1: I'm sure, I'm sure. But that's a totalitarian regime as
- 29:34Speaker 1: is putin in Russia. So now, even though we're supposed
- 29:38Speaker 1: to have checks and balances here in the United States,
- 29:40Speaker 1: remember the Constitution, the Bill of Wrights. Remember James Madison
- 29:43Speaker 1: who said you have to have checks and balances. We
- 29:46Speaker 1: basically trust the president's moral compass because they said, well,
- 29:50Speaker 1: who keeps you in check, mister president, he said, my
- 29:53Speaker 1: moral compass.
- 29:55Speaker 2: He is not invading Greenland. Can There's not going to
- 29:59Speaker 2: be a millet terry koo Deata by the army or
- 30:02Speaker 2: the Navy or the seal teams. I just paid two
- 30:05Speaker 2: dollars and forty nine cents for gas and Trump by
- 30:08Speaker 2: trust the FED. The Atlanta Chief of Fed just raised
- 30:11Speaker 2: the GPS has the midst of four point five next year.
- 30:15Speaker 2: Everything he's done has come up roses so far. The
- 30:18Speaker 2: border is locked down. I'm gonna believe that there's a
- 30:21Speaker 2: plan in place for Greenland. And he knows exactly what
- 30:24Speaker 2: he's doing.
- 30:25Speaker 1: Man, drink the kool aid. Drink the kool aid. Oh,
- 30:30Speaker 1: gas is down. So whatever Trump does is okay by me.
- 30:35Speaker 1: He would never invade Greenland. He just says this to
- 30:40Speaker 1: force others to take care of their responsibility. This is
- 30:45Speaker 1: the same guy, our president, who blamed the Ukraine for
- 30:48Speaker 1: starting the war with Russia. Remember, oh, well Russian invade Ukraine.
- 30:53Speaker 1: No no, no, that was Ukraine. Yeah yeah, yeah. What
- 30:56Speaker 1: do we want in the Ukraine?
- 30:57Speaker 2: Oh?
- 30:58Speaker 1: The valuable minerals? So is that what this is? Whatever
- 31:04Speaker 1: we want in the world, we take even if it
- 31:06Speaker 1: ain't us by threats, by intimidation, and then we trust
- 31:12Speaker 1: whoever is the president to be omnipotent, all knowing, all trusting,
- 31:17Speaker 1: and we don't have checks and balances. I hope the
- 31:20Speaker 1: United States Supreme Court does the right thing on these tariffs. Tariffs. Really,
- 31:27Speaker 1: so if I disagree with the United States, we impose
- 31:30Speaker 1: tariffs on you like they did in Brazil. How did
- 31:35Speaker 1: that work out? Right? Oh, you're not going to tell
- 31:38Speaker 1: us what to do with our former president who tried
- 31:40Speaker 1: to read the election bal scenario. No, no, oh, fifty
- 31:43Speaker 1: percent tariff the president Trump put on Lula, and Lula said, okay, no,
- 31:49Speaker 1: problem didn't work. I realize a lot of you. You
- 31:54Speaker 1: like cheap energy, you like cheap gas. You believe everything
- 31:58Speaker 1: that Trump does. Maybe you'll think that he's gonna walk
- 32:01Speaker 1: on water, you know, between Halifax, Greenland, Greenland to Iceland,
- 32:08Speaker 1: Iceland to Denmark, Denmark to Norway. But you're not gonna
- 32:13Speaker 1: challenge or question at aardi. You're like sheep. You need
- 32:19Speaker 1: a sheepherder. And for so many of you, whoever's in power,
- 32:24Speaker 1: that's your sheepherder, not me. One eight hundred and three
- 32:27Speaker 1: to two one zero from here we go to Minneapolis
- 32:30Speaker 1: with there are a lot of former Scandinavians who settled
- 32:34Speaker 1: there many many decades ago. And I'll give you my
- 32:38Speaker 1: input on Ice versus Minneapolis and what the answer is.
- 32:44Speaker 1: You don't want to go anywhere on this. It should
- 32:46Speaker 1: be a new listening station seven to ten WR ten war. Oh,
- 32:54Speaker 1: we'll be talking about Minneapolis in the next hour. Spent
- 32:58Speaker 1: a lot of time there. You know, when the federal marshals,
- 33:03Speaker 1: the US marshals have to snatch up a suspect with
- 33:07Speaker 1: a federal warrant, you know what time they do it, crash.
- 33:10Speaker 1: They do it like three to five in the morning,
- 33:13Speaker 1: when the person is normally asleep. And yet we're putting
- 33:19Speaker 1: Ice in a situation where they're flooding the streets by
- 33:22Speaker 1: day and being confronted by protesters. We'll talk about that.
- 33:26Speaker 1: What is it that unites Zorhan Mandami and Donald Trump
- 33:33Speaker 1: a fixation on bathrooms? Oh yeah, I'm gonna make the
- 33:36Speaker 1: connection because with the start of his mayoralty, it's been
- 33:41Speaker 1: a lot of focus on bathrooms for Zorhan. And then
- 33:46Speaker 1: Eric Adams. I warned you, right, Eric Adams, swagger mare
- 33:49Speaker 1: with no plan, a total crook, when I ran against
- 33:52Speaker 1: him in twenty twenty one. So many of you tell
- 33:54Speaker 1: me when you see me in the subways and streets
- 33:56Speaker 1: you were right. He's a cook that would be chaos
- 33:59Speaker 1: right out of the box. He's just a few hours
- 34:02Speaker 1: away from being the mayor, the transfer of power, and
- 34:06Speaker 1: he's already involved in bitcoin aka crime coin, and ripping
- 34:11Speaker 1: off investors and acting like yo, yeah, no, no no,
- 34:16Speaker 1: I'm for cryptocurrency, I'm for blockchain, I'm for bitcoin, I'm
- 34:20Speaker 1: for crime coin, and boy a leopard cannot change its
- 34:24Speaker 1: spots as we continue here on my place to be
- 34:29Speaker 1: seven ten wrf you listen anywhere else, it's time to
- 34:34Speaker 1: put your listening right here and the voice of New
- 34:36Speaker 1: York seven ten wor
