SPEAKER_01: Welcome back to Keeping It Relevant.

  SPEAKER_01: I'm Alex.
• 0:06
  SPEAKER_03: I guess I'm John.
• 0:07
SPEAKER_03: I thought Cody was going.
• 0:08
  SPEAKER_03: Sorry.
• 0:09
  SPEAKER_03: I'm Cody.
• 0:10
  SPEAKER_03: Friggin' A.
• 0:12
SPEAKER_03: Do we always do Alex, John, and Cody?
• 0:15
SPEAKER_03: At least the last several we have.
• 0:17
  SPEAKER_01: I haven't I haven't been paying attention.
• 0:20
  SPEAKER_01: It's everybody's first time.
• 0:21
  SPEAKER_01: It's alright.
• 0:22
  SPEAKER_03: Sorry.
• 0:22
  SPEAKER_03: It's my first episode.
• 0:24
  SPEAKER_03: First one.
• 0:25
  SPEAKER_03: It's the first one.
• 0:26
SPEAKER_03: I can act like this is my first one.
• 0:28
  SPEAKER_01: No.
• 0:33
  SPEAKER_03: Relevant news.
• 0:35
  SPEAKER_03: I got you.
• 0:35
SPEAKER_03: Anyways, let's keep it relevant.
• 0:37
SPEAKER_03: I won't I'm not gonna act like this is my first episode because I am a professional.
• 0:42
SPEAKER_03: Well, I'm poking at something on the side of my head.
• 0:45
  SPEAKER_03: Okay.
• 0:46
  SPEAKER_03: This is pretty crazy.
• 0:47
SPEAKER_03: This this is pretty wild.
• 0:49
  SPEAKER_03: Be quiet.
• 0:50
SPEAKER_03: Um we have another first.
• 0:54
  SPEAKER_03: We have a first.
• 0:56
SPEAKER_03: Is it the first the first time ever in Hollywood and Tokyo history?
• 1:06
SPEAKER_03: We will be having a R-rated Godzilla movie.
• 1:12
SPEAKER_03: I What did you think I was gonna say?
• 1:15
  SPEAKER_02: I don't know.
• 1:16
  SPEAKER_03: Oh, okay.
• 1:16
SPEAKER_02: I was just gonna tag a random guess.
• 1:18
  SPEAKER_03: Oh shoot.
• 1:19
  SPEAKER_03: No, it's fair.
• 1:20
  SPEAKER_03: Too late.
• 1:21
  SPEAKER_03: Um, what's gonna make it R-rated?
• 1:24
  SPEAKER_01: Like just blood?
• 1:25
SPEAKER_01: Apparently it's like really violent.
• 1:27
SPEAKER_03: Which I'm like, what is that?
• 1:29
SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I'm like, what does that mean?
• 1:30
SPEAKER_01: How is it not violent already?
• 1:33
SPEAKER_02: I assume because from the only one I've watched, they didn't actually show that much.
• 1:40
SPEAKER_02: It's all kind of implied.
• 1:42
SPEAKER_02: Like you don't see people getting like vaporized, you don't see them.
• 1:48
SPEAKER_02: You do see that, but because that's not showing blood or anything, that probably doesn't get it.
• 1:52
SPEAKER_02: But like you're not seeing somebody get like squished and like blood splatter out.
• 1:57
  SPEAKER_02: You see that.
• 1:58
SPEAKER_02: Do you see it like come out?
• 2:00
SPEAKER_03: When yeah, when Godzilla comes out, does it look like strawberry jam coming out of his book?
• 2:05
SPEAKER_03: Does it look like strawberry jam?
• 2:06
  SPEAKER_03: Hold on.
• 2:07
SPEAKER_03: Uh yeah, hold on one second.
• 2:09
  SPEAKER_03: Godzilla minus.
• 2:12
SPEAKER_01: But like if they're getting vaporized and still showing, like it's already established, once you get hit with the atomic breath, you get dusted.
• 2:20
  SPEAKER_01: So like, what?
• 2:22
  SPEAKER_01: But dust isn't gory.
• 2:24
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, but like they're not gonna change that just because they wanted an R rating.
• 2:27
SPEAKER_02: But like if there's more like with him maybe like biting somebody or like using his hands and like slashing through their guts or something, it might have that.
• 2:38
  SPEAKER_02: I don't know.
• 2:39
SPEAKER_02: That's just my first guess.
• 2:40
SPEAKER_01: So like his hand like they're almost so big, I feel like they just get eviscerated anyway.
• 2:46
SPEAKER_01: I know, but if they decide to show it. 'Cause like he's so big and we're so tiny.
• 2:54
  SPEAKER_03: I can't find the specific image.
• 2:56
SPEAKER_03: I know it's on social media everywhere because everyone's like, why was it minus zero or minus one rated R?
• 3:03
SPEAKER_03: The scene where you see the people running in the crowd, yeah, and he stomps on that scene.
• 3:08
SPEAKER_03: You see like body parts go f yeah, go flailing everywhere.
• 3:15
SPEAKER_03: And then just dead people just chilling, you know, where his footprint was.
• 3:21
SPEAKER_03: And you see his whole face get blown up by a by a mine.
• 3:28
  SPEAKER_01: This is true.
• 3:29
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
• 3:30
  SPEAKER_01: But that's a violence against a fake thing.
• 3:32
  SPEAKER_01: That's alright.
• 3:33
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 3:34
SPEAKER_03: Yeah, no, well, actually that is one of the rules, actually.
• 3:37
SPEAKER_03: Cause in in Godzilla King of the Monsters 2000, was that 2018?
• 3:43
SPEAKER_03: You see him rip off Ghidorah's head.
• 3:46
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
• 3:46
SPEAKER_03: But like, and it's there's nothing subtle about that.
• 3:50
SPEAKER_03: You see that happen, like lymph ligament for ligament.
• 3:53
SPEAKER_01: Um the first one in 2016?
• 3:59
  SPEAKER_01: 14.
• 4:00
SPEAKER_01: 14, where he uh he blows off that one's head.
• 4:02
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, he like opens it, forcefully opens its mouth and shoots down it.
• 4:08
SPEAKER_03: That's one of those weird well, that's the thing, because that's one of those weird rules where it's like, oh, it's it's like creatures or or monsters, like it's fine.
• 4:15
SPEAKER_03: So I'm like, how how violent we talking here, people?
• 4:20
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 4:21
SPEAKER_02: Unless there's some language in it.
• 4:23
SPEAKER_03: What year is it taking place?
• 4:26
SPEAKER_03: Uh what what year did Godzilla Minus one take place?
• 4:31
SPEAKER_02: It had to be after World War II.
• 4:34
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah, 45 or 46.
• 4:36
SPEAKER_02: I mean, it's a couple years after, cause the little girl is at least, I think, about five when most of it happens. 'Cause like obviously early it's right in the middle of like the war, but then the bulk of it is like after she's at least around kindergarten age.
• 4:56
SPEAKER_03: I guess I can look it up what year.
• 5:01
SPEAKER_01: It was more or less I'm trying to establish, like maybe there's another conflict going on, and that's what they're showing.
• 5:09
  SPEAKER_01: Possible?
• 5:10
  SPEAKER_03: Uh 1949.
• 5:13
  SPEAKER_03: So that's still post WW2.
• 5:17
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 5:18
  SPEAKER_03: I don't know.
• 5:19
SPEAKER_03: I don't know if they're actually gonna show like the monsters getting bloody, which I think would be well no, that's that's been in other Godzilla movies too.
• 5:30
SPEAKER_01: I almost thought their blood should be a different color.
• 5:32
SPEAKER_03: I almost thought Godzilla's blood should be like green.
• 5:35
  SPEAKER_01: That's what I thought too.
• 5:36
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 5:36
SPEAKER_01: Or like maybe even a blue.
• 5:38
  SPEAKER_01: I don't know.
• 5:39
  SPEAKER_03: I don't know.
• 5:39
  SPEAKER_03: But yeah, I don't I don't know what the reason is.
• 5:42
  SPEAKER_03: Um because it's this I don't know, I honestly don't know how I feel about it.
• 5:49
SPEAKER_03: Like, wow, the first R-rated Godzilla movie, like I'm curious, like what made this one rated R?
• 5:57
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
• 5:58
SPEAKER_03: Versus like, did it did it need to be rated R?
• 6:02
SPEAKER_03: Let's say, like, is it rated R on Japanese standards or American standards, or like, where is it rated R?
• 6:08
SPEAKER_03: You know what I'm saying?
• 6:10
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
• 6:10
SPEAKER_02: Might have to look into that more when it comes out.
• 6:12
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah, well that's what I'm saying.
• 6:14
SPEAKER_01: It's actually rated R because there's a Godzilla sex scene with another Godzilla and they just show it off.
• 6:20
  SPEAKER_01: Oh.
• 6:22
SPEAKER_03: You technically saw that with the Mutos.
• 6:27
  SPEAKER_03: Anyways, that's uh that's just a funny joke.
• 6:30
SPEAKER_03: Did you just in the most technical way ever, just tell me just watch the movie and figure it out for yourself?
• 6:38
SPEAKER_02: No, like you might actually have to look up like if it's in R ratings or if it's like based on Japanese ratings, why it's rated R.
• 6:45
  SPEAKER_03: Oh, okay.
• 6:46
SPEAKER_03: You just like to figure that out when it comes out.
• 6:48
SPEAKER_03: I was like, like watch the movie?
• 6:50
SPEAKER_02: Like more, I didn't think like they'd have all that available now, so it might not be like as readily available of information why it got the rating until it comes out.
• 7:01
SPEAKER_03: You know, I wasn't expecting these questions.
• 7:02
SPEAKER_03: It's like it's my first time on a podcast.
• 7:04
SPEAKER_03: So I could I could look it up real quick.
• 7:07
SPEAKER_03: Why is Godzilla minus zero rated R.
• 7:19
SPEAKER_03: Some some violent content slash bloody images?
• 7:25
SPEAKER_02: That doesn't sound like it really answers any questions.
• 7:28
SPEAKER_03: What the flip does that mean?
• 7:29
SPEAKER_03: Well, especially with the word sum in it.
• 7:30
  SPEAKER_03: I'm like, what's that?
• 7:32
SPEAKER_03: What is what do you mean by sum?
• 7:35
  SPEAKER_01: Yep.
• 7:35
  SPEAKER_01: It's because it wasn't made here, that's why.
• 7:38
  SPEAKER_03: Yo, what?
• 7:39
SPEAKER_03: Okay, yo, hold on, hold on.
• 7:40
SPEAKER_03: Yo, okay, let me rearrange here.
• 7:42
SPEAKER_03: What if what happens is that they introduce because there's like a huge scientist and a huge science aspect to this.
• 7:51
SPEAKER_03: We know that from the trailers.
• 7:53
SPEAKER_03: What if they introduce the oxygen destroyer weapon, but it ends up killing humans too?
• 8:03
SPEAKER_03: That would be pretty I could see that being a rated R thing.
• 8:08
SPEAKER_03: Just like just imagine what the oxygen destroyer would do to a human.
• 8:16
  SPEAKER_03: Sure.
• 8:17
SPEAKER_03: I mean, tech technically, there's more that happens with it though than just that.
• 8:24
SPEAKER_03: Cody, like, really quick for those that don't know, can you explain the oxygen destroyer weapon for us real quick?
• 8:31
  SPEAKER_03: I don't know that I can.
• 8:32
  SPEAKER_03: Oh, dang it.
• 8:33
SPEAKER_03: I thought you were gonna come up with something like it destroys the oxygen.
• 8:39
SPEAKER_02: It destroys You're making it sound a lot more complicated than that.
• 8:44
SPEAKER_03: So the oxygen destroyer weapon is the weapon that was created by um What is his name?
• 8:56
SPEAKER_03: Well, some fan I am.
• 8:57
SPEAKER_03: It's the f it's the first weapon that the you that's ever killed Godzilla, and it's the weapon they used in the very first Godzilla movie uh to defeat him.
• 9:08
SPEAKER_03: But not only does it destroy the oxygen around you, but it vaporizes you down to bone.
• 9:13
SPEAKER_03: Now, in that instance, it wasn't sound like an oxygen destroyer.
• 9:17
SPEAKER_01: It was uh there's oxygen in our cells, anyways.
• 9:24
SPEAKER_01: It should be more of a carbon destroying weapon.
• 9:27
  SPEAKER_03: Dude, I don't write these, okay?
• 9:29
SPEAKER_03: I just follow the rules, dang it.
• 9:31
  SPEAKER_03: I don't I don't write the rules, I just follow them.
• 9:34
SPEAKER_03: I just think maybe the oxygen destroyer weapon is involved in it, and maybe humans get affected by that.
• 9:41
  SPEAKER_03: I don't know.
• 9:42
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah, it's always possible.
• 9:44
SPEAKER_03: Or we finally just see what we've always wanted to see actual like consequences for a monster stopping around a building.
• 9:50
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
• 9:52
  SPEAKER_03: I don't know.
• 9:53
  SPEAKER_03: That's fair.
• 9:54
  SPEAKER_03: Anyways, that's a first.
• 9:55
  SPEAKER_03: Um, also unrelevant news.
• 9:58
SPEAKER_03: Uh Avengers Endgame Encore came out.
• 10:02
SPEAKER_03: I actually went to that event.
• 10:04
  SPEAKER_02: Uh-huh.
• 10:04
  SPEAKER_03: Um.
• 10:05
SPEAKER_03: Which, okay, we talked like 50 episodes ago about how theaters need to do more events.
• 10:12
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 10:13
  SPEAKER_03: This theater was packed.
• 10:16
SPEAKER_03: Not just because of this event.
• 10:18
SPEAKER_03: It was actually, they told me I asked the people yesterday, I was like, is this all for Avengers?
• 10:22
SPEAKER_03: They go, Avengers is the main reason why it's busy today.
• 10:26
SPEAKER_03: They said, but there's a lot of people here right now for Resident Evil and Practical Magic.
• 10:31
SPEAKER_03: And I was like, Okay.
• 10:33
SPEAKER_03: They said it goes, it was Avengers, Resident Evil, Practical Magic, then like other stuff.
• 10:40
SPEAKER_02: Wow, so the new movie wasn't even a big draw then.
• 10:44
  SPEAKER_03: No.
• 10:44
SPEAKER_03: Well, a lot of movies came out today.
• 10:47
  SPEAKER_02: Well, yeah.
• 10:47
SPEAKER_03: Oh, sorry, not practical magic, sorry, uh Forgotten Island.
• 10:51
  SPEAKER_03: Okay, that's what I was thinking.
• 10:53
  SPEAKER_03: Sorry, Practical Magic.
• 10:54
SPEAKER_03: That was last week when I talked to them.
• 10:55
SPEAKER_03: But yeah, no, it was Resident Evil and Forgotten Island.
• 10:58
SPEAKER_03: We're were the two and three spot, and then and then everything else.
• 11:02
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 11:03
SPEAKER_03: Which but like that that got me thinking because I'm like, man, the theater's never that crowded when I go.
• 11:08
  SPEAKER_03: I go on Thursdays.
• 11:10
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 11:10
SPEAKER_03: So I'm like, maybe I should start going on Fridays, because I went on Friday for that one.
• 11:15
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I mean, Fridays are gonna be busier than your Thursday crowd, even with a movie like as big as Endgame was when it first came out.
• 11:23
SPEAKER_02: Thursday still paled in comparison to Friday.
• 11:26
SPEAKER_03: But I will say the the last two events I went to, which was uh Spider-Man and Mandalorian and Grogu, I went to those on Thursdays, and I'm talking sold-out RPX theaters on both of those days, and crowded parking lots.
• 11:43
  SPEAKER_03: People I have a I I don't think I ever showed you guys this.
• 11:45
SPEAKER_03: I actually have a film, a film, a video I took of the parking lot on for Spider-Man, and it was like I was living in 1998 again with just people going in and out in crowds of the movie theater, people loitering and chilling around the theater because they're just waiting and stuff like that, all for Spider-Man, and I was like, gosh darn.
• 12:08
SPEAKER_03: But no, like think the reason I bring up Endgame is like, well, first of all, I did see the extended one with the five minutes of extra footage.
• 12:17
SPEAKER_03: Really quick, people, there is no this makes me mad.
• 12:21
SPEAKER_03: And Disney needs to stop advertising, not just Marvel stuff like this, but their stuff in general like this.
• 12:28
SPEAKER_03: They're like, there is added footage, five minutes of added footage, three minutes of added footage if you go to normal showing, but if you go to Infinity Vision, which is just the premium vision, the premium theaters, you have five minutes of added footage.
• 12:40
SPEAKER_03: Ooh, two extra minutes, holy crap.
• 12:42
  SPEAKER_03: Oh boy.
• 12:43
  SPEAKER_03: Right?
• 12:43
SPEAKER_03: Here's the thing there is for the movie itself, zero added footage.
• 12:50
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 12:51
SPEAKER_03: And a few weeks ago, or a few episodes ago, Alex, you were like, uh, I thought it was more than one end credit, and they were advertising, no, we're just one edit, they were advertising one end credit and added footage.
• 13:06
  SPEAKER_03: All a lie.
• 13:07
  SPEAKER_02: So there was nothing.
• 13:09
SPEAKER_03: No added footage, three or four end credits.
• 13:12
  SPEAKER_03: I can't remember it was four.
• 13:14
  SPEAKER_03: That was it.
• 13:15
SPEAKER_03: So yeah, you were right.
• 13:16
  SPEAKER_03: There it is.
• 13:17
SPEAKER_03: Yeah, no, you were right.
• 13:19
SPEAKER_03: Um, but at the same time, Disney was liars and wrong.
• 13:24
SPEAKER_02: But also, we were all right.
• 13:28
SPEAKER_02: Because it's not getting anywhere near 200 mil.
• 13:31
  SPEAKER_02: I don't know.
• 13:32
SPEAKER_02: No, I looked up the numbers last night after you sent me that.
• 13:35
SPEAKER_02: Last night only did about 13 million.
• 13:38
SPEAKER_03: Are the numbers out already for last night?
• 13:41
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, they get the project they don't get like the full like for the late stuff, but usually somewhere around like nine or so, they get numbers for what happened at the 7 o'clock set.
• 13:52
SPEAKER_02: And anything after that, they're it like it's not getting anywhere near what it needs to cross 3 billion.
• 14:00
  SPEAKER_03: That's not that's not bad for a re-release, though.
• 14:03
SPEAKER_03: 11 million on night one?
• 14:05
  SPEAKER_03: Eh.
• 14:06
  SPEAKER_03: That's not bad.
• 14:07
SPEAKER_02: I mean, projected for the weekends like 25 to 30, which I get for a re-release isn't bad, but like.
• 14:13
SPEAKER_03: People wish they get that for their opening weekends.
• 14:16
  SPEAKER_03: Holy crap.
• 14:20
  SPEAKER_02: 3 billion.
• 14:21
SPEAKER_02: It's like that's a tenth of what they need.
• 14:24
SPEAKER_03: But still, all that aside, like, this was an event and they were busy.
• 14:29
SPEAKER_03: And when I left the theater at 10 o'clock at night, because it's a three-hour frickin' movie, when I left the theater, people were still showing up.
• 14:38
  unknown: Yeah.
• 14:38
  SPEAKER_03: I I don't even think for Endgame.
• 14:40
SPEAKER_03: I think I saw the last showing for Endgame, but there were so crowds of people showing up to the theater just to go to the theater, and I'm over here like I I know halfway through the summer we were seeing like, oh, we're matching you know, 2019 numbers.
• 14:56
  SPEAKER_03: I was like, I don't know.
• 14:57
SPEAKER_02: The hard part is when you're in that dead zone, which is where we're seeing usually currently at it.
• 15:02
SPEAKER_03: So I was thinking that, but a point was brought up.
• 15:06
SPEAKER_03: We have banger after banger, and after listening to our episode uh last time of What's Left, there's no there's no slowdown point for bangers coming out.
• 15:15
SPEAKER_03: We have banger after banger in October coming out.
• 15:17
SPEAKER_02: I don't think you're wrong, but the hard part is if it'll actually be banger after banger for box office numbers.
• 15:24
SPEAKER_02: I think it's going to movies, and I'm not saying you'll be wrong, but I do understand like usually this time of year, even if they sound like good movies, could just underperform because it's a dead spot in the year.
• 15:37
SPEAKER_03: I would think that if we were in 2024, 2025, I even like pre-COVID, that is usually the trend.
• 15:45
SPEAKER_02: Like it would slow down.
• 15:46
SPEAKER_02: It might not be dead, dead, but it would slow down.
• 15:49
  SPEAKER_03: I don't think we're gonna see a slowdown.
• 15:51
  SPEAKER_02: I that'd be great for industry.
• 15:54
SPEAKER_03: From what from what the theater people have been saying and from what I've just because here's the thing.
• 15:59
SPEAKER_03: It's one thing when people are talking about like Burbank or talking about uh you know Long Island and like stuff like that.
• 16:07
SPEAKER_03: We're in the middle of nowhere, Missouri.
• 16:09
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
• 16:10
  SPEAKER_03: Okay?
• 16:10
SPEAKER_03: It's like, oh, you're in Columbia though.
• 16:12
SPEAKER_03: Columbia's in the middle of nowhere of Missouri, okay?
• 16:15
SPEAKER_03: We got you go you go one mile outside of Columbia, there's nothing there.
• 16:20
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 16:20
SPEAKER_03: North, south, east, or west.
• 16:21
  SPEAKER_03: Okay?
• 16:22
  SPEAKER_03: We're nothing.
• 16:23
SPEAKER_03: So when I see like middle of nowhere Columbia, Missouri be jam-packed at at their movie theater.
• 16:31
  SPEAKER_03: Oh yeah.
• 16:32
SPEAKER_03: Not even the cheapest movie theater in town either.
• 16:35
SPEAKER_03: You know, the the other two theaters are way cheaper.
• 16:38
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah, okay.
• 16:39
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah, right?
• 16:40
SPEAKER_03: As far as ticket prices are concerned.
• 16:41
SPEAKER_03: Not concession prices, holy crap, but ticket prices, yeah.
• 16:46
SPEAKER_03: So I was like, we're not even the cheapest theater in town, as far as ticket prices go, and I need to wait.
• 16:51
SPEAKER_03: This is the third or fourth time I had to wait in line to get my ticket scanned.
• 16:57
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 16:58
SPEAKER_03: Like, this is crazy, the box office today.
• 17:02
SPEAKER_03: But this is but this is what we were saying.
• 17:04
SPEAKER_03: We said before that we need more events for theaters, and Avengers Endgame, even at$11 million, is still an event for theaters.
• 17:12
SPEAKER_03: I know Columbia, Missouri, Regal Theater, did great on business because of that event yesterday.
• 17:18
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
• 17:18
  SPEAKER_03: And today.
• 17:19
  SPEAKER_03: I don't I didn't look at anything for today because I didn't care.
• 17:21
  SPEAKER_03: I'm not going today.
• 17:22
SPEAKER_03: But like, I was like, dude, this is a they were selling out of concessions.
• 17:26
SPEAKER_03: They had a they had to run all the popcorn machines because they were freaking empty.
• 17:31
SPEAKER_03: They I've never had this happen before in a theater.
• 17:34
SPEAKER_03: They ran out of butter.
• 17:35
SPEAKER_03: I wanted to go put butter on.
• 17:37
SPEAKER_01: They ran out of butter whenever we went to Spider-Man.
• 17:40
SPEAKER_01: They just need to change it out.
• 17:42
SPEAKER_03: I've never I well, yeah, but I've never had that happen.
• 17:44
SPEAKER_03: I've never had to be like, hey, you guys are out of butter before.
• 17:47
SPEAKER_02: To be fair, that's just a coincidence that you haven't ever caught it there.
• 17:51
SPEAKER_02: Because even if it's slow, they could, but you just happen to never catch it.
• 17:55
  SPEAKER_03: No, dude, that's events.
• 17:56
  SPEAKER_03: It's an event.
• 17:57
SPEAKER_03: It's an event that did it.
• 17:58
SPEAKER_03: I don't even I don't even care that it that it was a Marvel event.
• 18:01
SPEAKER_03: It's like, oh, it's you know, it was a Marvel.
• 18:03
  SPEAKER_03: No, dude, just events.
• 18:04
SPEAKER_03: Because when you and I went and saw Masters of the Universe, it was busy.
• 18:08
SPEAKER_03: But it wasn't because of Masters of the Universe, it was because of the event.
• 18:12
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 18:12
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
• 18:12
SPEAKER_03: And then I went, whoa! And then I went that following Tuesday, and it was still super busy because of that event that was going on.
• 18:21
  SPEAKER_03: I think that's I think we need events.
• 18:25
  SPEAKER_03: Theaters.
• 18:25
  SPEAKER_03: I know you're listening.
• 18:27
  SPEAKER_03: More events.
• 18:28
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 18:29
  SPEAKER_03: Let's just do it.
• 18:31
  SPEAKER_03: I'm just, that's about it.
• 18:33
SPEAKER_03: That's all I got for Relevant News, by the way.
• 18:34
  SPEAKER_03: I I think that's it for today.
• 18:36
SPEAKER_03: Um! Oh my gosh! El Grande Americano is the mega champion.
• 18:42
  SPEAKER_03: Okay, there we go.
• 18:43
  SPEAKER_03: That's it.
• 18:43
  SPEAKER_02: Okay.
• 18:44
  SPEAKER_02: Alright, yeah.
• 18:45
  SPEAKER_02: That's not one thing.
• 18:46
SPEAKER_02: Uh, if you haven't heard of it yet, and you're at least in the music scene that we all three tend to be in.
• 18:54
SPEAKER_02: Uh Wendy's put out a metal core album.
• 18:56
SPEAKER_02: And by Wendy's, I'm an emo album.
• 18:59
SPEAKER_02: And by Wendy's, I do mean the fast food restaurant Wendy's.
• 19:03
SPEAKER_01: Such a weird concept, by the way.
• 19:05
SPEAKER_02: It is, but it's great.
• 19:07
SPEAKER_02: I really it's so much better than it has any right to be.
• 19:11
  SPEAKER_03: I also like how.
• 19:14
SPEAKER_03: Because, like, let's be honest, we we all know how cringy and stupid like emo music is.
• 19:20
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
• 19:20
  SPEAKER_03: Okay?
• 19:21
  SPEAKER_03: Like, like, it's not a face.
• 19:23
  SPEAKER_03: Shut up.
• 19:24
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah, it was.
• 19:24
SPEAKER_03: No, it's not, still listen to it.
• 19:26
  SPEAKER_03: Well, then grow up.
• 19:27
SPEAKER_03: Anyways, but I still listen to it.
• 19:29
SPEAKER_03: I mean, look at look, you can't see my garage.
• 19:30
SPEAKER_03: Look at all these insights.
• 19:31
SPEAKER_03: I got a I got the 20th anniversary AFI framed right there.
• 19:36
  SPEAKER_03: Like, I understand.
• 19:38
SPEAKER_03: So the fact that the first song is she didn't want fries, but she stole my fries.
• 19:42
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, she said she didn't want fries, but she lied.
• 19:45
SPEAKER_03: And I was like, what, what the most bring me the horizon title song that is.
• 19:50
  SPEAKER_03: Oh yeah.
• 19:51
SPEAKER_03: And I'm like, and then he goes, he says that she stole my fry and her was it like her sin is my downfall or something like that.
• 19:59
  SPEAKER_03: Something like that.
• 20:00
  SPEAKER_03: Something like that.
• 20:01
SPEAKER_03: And I was like, gosh, dog.
• 20:03
  SPEAKER_03: It's so good.
• 20:05
SPEAKER_03: They went, they knew what they were they knew the assignment.
• 20:09
  SPEAKER_03: They did.
• 20:10
SPEAKER_03: And they were like, just make this cringy and campy.
• 20:12
  SPEAKER_03: It's like, okay.
• 20:13
  SPEAKER_02: You're interested.
• 20:14
SPEAKER_02: It's literally just called songs to listen to in a Wendy's parking lot.
• 20:18
SPEAKER_03: Which, do you guys want to go to the Wendy's parking lot after this and listen to it while we eat Wendy's?
• 20:24
  SPEAKER_03: Sure.
• 20:27
SPEAKER_03: Well, it's in the same parking lot as High V.
• 20:29
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 20:30
  SPEAKER_01: Oh, that's fair.
• 20:31
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah, see.
• 20:32
  SPEAKER_03: I just haven't done that yet.
• 20:33
SPEAKER_03: I really just want I want to do that and then wait for a worker to come out and be like, dude, I'm listening to your album.
• 20:40
  SPEAKER_03: Good job, man.
• 20:42
SPEAKER_03: You guys did really good on this.
• 20:46
  SPEAKER_03: You should be proud.
• 20:49
  SPEAKER_03: I forgot about that.
• 20:50
SPEAKER_03: That is that was wild that they did that.
• 20:53
  SPEAKER_02: For sure.
• 20:54
SPEAKER_02: I knew I think I had seen something forever ago about him teasing it, and then that was kind of the end of it, and all of a sudden the there's one guy see posts some stuff about like music news, and he was just like, hey, they dropped it, and I was like, what?
• 21:10
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
• 21:11
SPEAKER_03: So is McDonald's coming out with a country album?
• 21:14
  SPEAKER_02: They should.
• 21:16
  SPEAKER_03: Oh, McDonald's had a farm.
• 21:17
  SPEAKER_03: Oh my gosh.
• 21:21
SPEAKER_03: What album would Sonic be?
• 21:23
SPEAKER_03: Would that be like EDM techno?
• 21:27
SPEAKER_03: Or would that be like because of the 80s roller skate?
• 21:31
  SPEAKER_03: They'd just be like pop 80s.
• 21:32
SPEAKER_03: I think that's like Pat Benatar type of stuff.
• 21:36
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 21:38
SPEAKER_01: Arby's has to be like gangster rap.
• 21:42
  SPEAKER_01: We got the meat.
• 21:44
  unknown: We got the meat.
• 21:46
  SPEAKER_00: Yo, where's the beef?
• 21:47
  SPEAKER_00: It's right here, brother.
• 21:49
SPEAKER_00: It's right here, Taco Bell.
• 21:51
SPEAKER_00: This is where the beef is at.
• 21:54
SPEAKER_03: Is it bad that it's like clearly like Taco Bell's just gonna be like mariachi music?
• 21:58
  SPEAKER_03: 100%.
• 21:59
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah, okay, yeah.
• 22:00
SPEAKER_01: Or it could be that have you ever seen the Facebook shorts for the mariachi metal band?
• 22:06
  SPEAKER_01: No.
• 22:08
SPEAKER_01: They have a mariachi metal band.
• 22:10
SPEAKER_03: They need a they need to have they need to bring back the Chihuahua.
• 22:16
  SPEAKER_03: And I mean yes.
• 22:18
SPEAKER_03: They do need to bring the Chucky.
• 22:19
SPEAKER_03: They need to bring back the Chihuahua and have have the Looketto Taco Bell's is the album.
• 22:24
SPEAKER_01: See, I miss Taco Bell with like the aesthetics of that like teal purple and white.
• 22:29
  SPEAKER_01: The 90s look.
• 22:31
  SPEAKER_01: I miss that.
• 22:32
SPEAKER_03: But their sign was brown, and it was like.
• 22:35
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
• 22:36
  SPEAKER_02: Keep the updated sign.
• 22:37
SPEAKER_02: Give us back the old interior.
• 22:39
SPEAKER_03: Would Burger King be heavy metal because they still cook with fire?
• 22:44
  SPEAKER_02: Oh.
• 22:45
SPEAKER_02: Or would it be like.
• 22:46
SPEAKER_02: No, it'd be hair metal because it's the king.
• 22:49
SPEAKER_02: I was gonna say like power metal, kind of like Dragon Force.
• 22:53
SPEAKER_03: Oh, or like Beast in Black.
• 22:55
  SPEAKER_02: I don't know that one.
• 22:57
SPEAKER_03: Really quick, hold on, really quick.
• 22:59
SPEAKER_03: I'm gonna bully Cody real quick.
• 23:00
SPEAKER_03: Name me three power metal song bands.
• 23:03
SPEAKER_02: I think the only one uh obviously Dragon Force.
• 23:06
SPEAKER_02: I know there's another one is I can't remember what the name of it is, because I know there's another one I've heard, but I can't think of the name of it.
• 23:14
  SPEAKER_03: Power Wolf?
• 23:15
SPEAKER_02: I think that is it, yeah.
• 23:17
SPEAKER_03: Yeah, then we'll go on one more.
• 23:18
  SPEAKER_02: No, that's all I know.
• 23:19
  SPEAKER_03: Alright, that's wild.
• 23:20
SPEAKER_03: Anyways, so he goes, he goes, sure.
• 23:24
SPEAKER_03: He goes, he's so sure, just like, yeah, Burger King power metal.
• 23:28
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
• 23:29
SPEAKER_02: Name me power metal real quick.
• 23:31
SPEAKER_02: I was thinking like through the fire and flames for Dragon Force.
• 23:35
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah, it's too obvious.
• 23:38
  SPEAKER_03: Okay.
• 23:40
SPEAKER_03: None of them's gonna be like electric.
• 23:42
SPEAKER_03: You know, do do do do do do do do what?
• 23:47
SPEAKER_03: Uh is White Castle just gonna be reggae music just because, you know.
• 23:57
  SPEAKER_03: Okay.
• 23:58
  SPEAKER_03: Alright, cool.
• 23:58
  SPEAKER_03: Alright, we all know.
• 24:00
  SPEAKER_03: We know.
• 24:01
SPEAKER_01: Uh electric EDM fast food chain.
• 24:05
SPEAKER_03: Not long John Silvers, that's gonna be sea shanties.
• 24:08
  SPEAKER_03: What about canes?
• 24:12
SPEAKER_03: I think canes would just be like rock, like normal rock.
• 24:16
  SPEAKER_03: Oh, okay.
• 24:19
  SPEAKER_01: Chick-fil-A.
• 24:20
  SPEAKER_01: EDM.
• 24:23
SPEAKER_03: No, they have to be gospel because of the religion aspect.
• 24:26
  SPEAKER_01: Oh, that's fair.
• 24:28
  SPEAKER_01: What?
• 24:28
SPEAKER_03: It's like he lives in the city.
• 24:30
SPEAKER_01: McDonald's would make a lot of sense for EDM.
• 24:33
SPEAKER_03: No, they gotta be the country.
• 24:35
SPEAKER_03: Here's the thing, Wendy's should have been an EDM, but they didn't want to, so they pulled the trigger first and went emo.
• 24:41
SPEAKER_03: What about Whataburger or Hardee's?
• 24:44
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
• 24:45
SPEAKER_03: Hardy's could because of the star.
• 24:47
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 24:48
  SPEAKER_03: Oh, wait.
• 24:49
  SPEAKER_03: Wait, wait, wait.
• 24:50
SPEAKER_03: What about what about Buffalo Wild Wings?
• 24:52
  SPEAKER_02: It's not fast food.
• 24:54
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 24:55
  SPEAKER_02: It's fast casual.
• 24:57
SPEAKER_03: It's not fast food because you order some wings there.
• 24:59
SPEAKER_03: It takes like 30 minutes for them to come out.
• 25:02
SPEAKER_03: But like, boy, is the environment the same as any fast food joint you ever go to.
• 25:06
  SPEAKER_01: That's fair.
• 25:07
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah?
• 25:08
  SPEAKER_01: Hot take.
• 25:08
  SPEAKER_01: I don't like Buffalo Wild Wings.
• 25:10
SPEAKER_03: That is a hot take, actually.
• 25:12
  SPEAKER_03: Really?
• 25:13
SPEAKER_03: I actually really want some right now since we started talking about it.
• 25:16
SPEAKER_01: I'd rather go to Wingstop, not sponsored.
• 25:18
  SPEAKER_03: I like Wing Stop.
• 25:19
  SPEAKER_03: Wingstop's.
• 25:22
  SPEAKER_03: Hey, Wing Stop.
• 25:24
SPEAKER_03: Hey! Hey, Wingstop! Dude, I freaking.
• 25:27
SPEAKER_03: I'll take back what I said and be like, oh yeah, you're right.
• 25:30
  SPEAKER_03: Wingstop's where it's at.
• 25:32
SPEAKER_03: I could be bought out.
• 25:36
SPEAKER_01: That's also like the only ranch I can eat, too.
• 25:40
SPEAKER_03: What would this isn't the conversation.
• 25:43
  SPEAKER_03: Never mind.
• 25:43
SPEAKER_03: I was going to be like, what music would Target and Walmart make?
• 25:46
SPEAKER_03: But we're going beyond anything.
• 25:48
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
• 25:49
  SPEAKER_02: But yeah, no.
• 25:51
SPEAKER_02: The point was Wendy's made an emo album.
• 25:54
SPEAKER_02: If you haven't listened to it, check it out.
• 25:57
  SPEAKER_03: It's amazing.
• 25:58
SPEAKER_03: And they have like Memphis May Fire.
• 26:00
  SPEAKER_02: And Bless the Fall.
• 26:01
SPEAKER_03: Oh, Bless the Fall's on it.
• 26:03
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I think they're on the last song which was Rosti's funeral.
• 26:09
SPEAKER_03: I've only heard the first song.
• 26:11
  SPEAKER_03: Oh, it's so good.
• 26:12
SPEAKER_03: I didn't listen to the whole thing.
• 26:13
SPEAKER_03: I'm surprised the used wasn't on it.
• 26:14
SPEAKER_03: They're like the emo band.
• 26:16
SPEAKER_03: Or at least Scary Kids Scaring Kids.
• 26:18
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 26:19
SPEAKER_02: I know uh State Champs was on there.
• 26:22
  SPEAKER_03: Gosh darn.
• 26:23
SPEAKER_02: Which one did they do?
• 26:24
SPEAKER_02: I dude, I'd have to double check.
• 26:26
SPEAKER_02: There's only like six songs on the album.
• 26:28
  SPEAKER_02: It's a good album.
• 26:29
  SPEAKER_03: Oh yeah.
• 26:30
SPEAKER_03: And the album cover's incredible too.
• 26:32
  SPEAKER_03: Yes.
• 26:33
SPEAKER_03: I'm just like, this is amazing.
• 26:35
SPEAKER_03: I thought, so when I when somebody first sent it to me, I thought the s I thought somebody just made their own playlist on social media.
• 26:45
SPEAKER_03: It sounds like and it happened to be and it happened to be songs that were like titled things that would be at like Wendy's.
• 26:53
  SPEAKER_03: Yep.
• 26:54
SPEAKER_03: And then I started listening to it and I was like, no, they're talking about Frogs at Wendy's.
• 26:59
  SPEAKER_03: Yep.
• 26:59
SPEAKER_03: Like the I'm like, what is this?
• 27:01
SPEAKER_03: And I got on social media and saw it, and I was like, oh shoot, that's wild.
• 27:05
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
• 27:06
SPEAKER_03: So Godzilla's rated R, Wendy's dropped an emo album.
• 27:10
  SPEAKER_02: And Avengers Endgame Encore.
• 27:14
SPEAKER_02: Disney lied to us, but we are right that it's not gonna break three billion.
• 27:21
SPEAKER_03: I thought it was 300 billion it had to break.
• 27:24
  SPEAKER_02: 3 billion.
• 27:24
SPEAKER_02: It'd be the first if it hit 200 million, it would get 3 billion for its.
• 27:29
  SPEAKER_03: Oh yeah, 200 million.
• 27:30
SPEAKER_03: That's what yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
• 27:32
  SPEAKER_03: They're not gonna cross.
• 27:33
SPEAKER_02: Billions in your millions makes sense.
• 27:34
  SPEAKER_03: I keep doing that.
• 27:35
  SPEAKER_03: It's my first time.
• 27:36
  SPEAKER_03: Give me some break.
• 27:37
  SPEAKER_03: It's my first episode.
• 27:40
SPEAKER_03: No one, no one would because the way we release these, no one would know if this is actually my first episode or not.
• 27:46
  SPEAKER_03: Until now.
• 27:47
  SPEAKER_03: Well, until yeah, anyways.
• 27:49
SPEAKER_02: Or if they listen to the old stuff.
• 27:52
SPEAKER_03: We're just pretending that that doesn't none of that exists.
• 27:57
SPEAKER_03: We did this back in February just pretending we knew.
• 28:02
SPEAKER_03: Um yeah, I don't think there's any other relevant news besides that's it, actually.
• 28:09
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I'm out.
• 28:10
  SPEAKER_03: Alright.
• 28:11
  SPEAKER_03: What's today's topic?
• 28:12
SPEAKER_01: Well, Cody had an idea of talking about like one of our like memorable fall TV shows and movies.
• 28:21
SPEAKER_01: Like just that gives the fall vibe.
• 28:24
  SPEAKER_00: Okay.
• 28:25
SPEAKER_02: We've done October stuff in the past, but we always kept it kind of on the spooky side since that's typically what you associate with October, and I was like, well, you don't have to be spooky to be October.
• 28:37
SPEAKER_02: Like, it could just be a good like fall kind of movie or feel to it.
• 28:43
SPEAKER_02: So that was kind of my idea behind it.
• 28:45
  SPEAKER_02: That's fine.
• 28:46
  SPEAKER_02: Those those one out.
• 28:48
SPEAKER_02: Uh for me, I know uh if we're going TV show, one that a lot of people are gonna think of if you just go fall, and I get it's kind of in the spooky realm, but it's not that scary.
• 29:00
SPEAKER_02: I mean, first thing you would probably think of as like a s fall kind of spooky TV show would probably be Stranger Things.
• 29:06
  SPEAKER_02: That's fair.
• 29:07
  SPEAKER_02: I give you that.
• 29:08
SPEAKER_02: I mean, it's not that it necessarily takes Season one, definitely.
• 29:11
  SPEAKER_03: Oh yeah.
• 29:12
SPEAKER_02: Like it's not necessarily that it's in the fall, but if I'm thinking fall, October, Halloween, like, yeah, it falls right into that.
• 29:20
SPEAKER_02: It's not necessarily super scary, but it falls in that realm.
• 29:24
  SPEAKER_01: That's fair.
• 29:25
SPEAKER_01: Like the one a more recent one than that that I think of is like from.
• 29:29
SPEAKER_01: It's on MGM Plus, but it's pretty good, like fall mystery, scary all the things in it.
• 29:38
SPEAKER_01: Uh another one, if we're gonna think about it, you brought it up earlier.
• 29:43
  SPEAKER_01: Uh Buffy.
• 29:45
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 29:45
  SPEAKER_01: And just it's a vampire show.
• 29:47
  SPEAKER_02: That is pure Halloween.
• 29:49
SPEAKER_02: Although, were you a Buffy guy or were you an angel guy?
• 29:53
  SPEAKER_02: Oh, neither.
• 29:53
  SPEAKER_02: I haven't watched either show.
• 29:55
SPEAKER_03: As far as the characters go or the shows go.
• 29:57
  SPEAKER_02: Just the show.
• 29:57
  SPEAKER_03: Oh, Buffy.
• 29:58
SPEAKER_03: I didn't I think I think I might have saw one episode of Angel and like checked out.
• 30:02
SPEAKER_01: See, I watched Angel more than I did Buffy.
• 30:05
SPEAKER_01: But don't get me started on Charmed, though.
• 30:07
SPEAKER_01: I watched every episode of Charmed.
• 30:09
  SPEAKER_01: Haven't seen that either.
• 30:10
  SPEAKER_01: Oh.
• 30:11
  SPEAKER_01: Charmed is great.
• 30:12
  SPEAKER_01: It's three witches.
• 30:14
  SPEAKER_01: Uh-huh.
• 30:15
  SPEAKER_01: Yep.
• 30:16
SPEAKER_01: That's definitely why I remember Melissa Milano.
• 30:20
SPEAKER_03: Charmed was on Nick at Night.
• 30:24
  SPEAKER_01: It was so before.
• 30:26
  SPEAKER_03: Right.
• 30:26
SPEAKER_03: No, either right after or right before First of Bel Air.
• 30:30
SPEAKER_01: It started on uh like WB slash CW.
• 30:35
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 30:36
SPEAKER_01: And then TNT picked it up for whenever we were kids and played it in the morning.
• 30:41
SPEAKER_01: And then it may have went to Nick at night, but then the CW got it back and redid it.
• 30:48
SPEAKER_02: That show just sounds like it's been bouncing around from studio to studio.
• 30:52
  SPEAKER_01: Well, heck, it's been out since 93, 94.
• 30:56
  SPEAKER_02: That's fine.
• 30:57
  SPEAKER_01: It's old.
• 30:58
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 30:59
SPEAKER_01: But it's definitely ones I think of.
• 31:03
SPEAKER_03: Um trying to think like this time of year what I would usually watch.
• 31:10
  SPEAKER_03: I mean, I ain't like Halloween Town.
• 31:13
SPEAKER_01: I do like Halloween Town.
• 31:14
SPEAKER_03: That that was a classic.
• 31:15
SPEAKER_03: That's the that was like that as a kid, you knew it was about that time of year when Disney Channel would start promoting Halloween Town.
• 31:22
  SPEAKER_01: Oh yeah.
• 31:23
SPEAKER_01: Halloween Town under wraps, the the Boogeyman one I can't think of off the top.
• 31:28
SPEAKER_03: Oh, the Phantom of the uh Megaplex.
• 31:31
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah, yeah.
• 31:31
SPEAKER_01: That had Mickey Rooney in it.
• 31:33
  SPEAKER_03: Uh that did.
• 31:35
SPEAKER_03: I saw that last year I showed my kids that, and I was watching it and I was like, what what theater is this?
• 31:43
SPEAKER_03: The b weird thing is it's a mall theater.
• 31:47
  SPEAKER_03: Oh, it is?
• 31:47
  SPEAKER_03: I'm pretty sure it's a mall theater.
• 31:49
SPEAKER_03: I thought it was just its own theater.
• 31:51
SPEAKER_03: I was just watching it and I'm like, first of all, what world does this take place?
• 31:55
SPEAKER_03: What universe does this take place in?
• 31:56
SPEAKER_03: Because this isn't this isn't 616 type of stuff happening here.
• 32:02
SPEAKER_03: And then I'm also like, what theater, what is happening in this thing?
• 32:08
  SPEAKER_03: Is it the town?
• 32:09
  SPEAKER_03: Is it the theater?
• 32:10
SPEAKER_03: Because this is not how a normal theater is at all.
• 32:12
SPEAKER_03: Even back in that time period, I was like, everyone's everyone is way into theaters in this universe.
• 32:20
SPEAKER_03: We need to cool it.
• 32:23
SPEAKER_01: So um You also had like My Mom's Dating a Vampire.
• 32:28
  SPEAKER_01: That one was weird.
• 32:30
  SPEAKER_02: And then My Babysitter's a Vampire.
• 32:33
SPEAKER_02: I never saw that one.
• 32:34
SPEAKER_02: I haven't seen it, but I know of it.
• 32:36
  SPEAKER_02: There's an Twitches.
• 32:37
SPEAKER_02: Twitches is one of the two.
• 32:38
  SPEAKER_02: Twitches!
• 32:40
SPEAKER_01: I forgot about that one.
• 32:42
SPEAKER_01: I do like Halloween Town, though.
• 32:44
SPEAKER_01: And and all its subsequent sequels.
• 32:46
SPEAKER_01: The second one was scary.
• 32:48
SPEAKER_01: The second one was scary.
• 32:49
SPEAKER_01: Now, I don't like the one is whether it's like high school or something like that.
• 32:56
SPEAKER_01: They got rid of the main people that did it.
• 32:59
SPEAKER_03: Oh, was it like Halloween High or something like that?
• 33:02
  SPEAKER_03: I think that's what it is.
• 33:03
SPEAKER_01: They got rid of like the main people in that one, and I was like, alright, I'm I don't like that.
• 33:08
SPEAKER_02: It's understandable when you roll with a certain cast for so long and then you change it up out of nowhere.
• 33:14
SPEAKER_02: I mean, it's hard for people to kind of jump on board with that.
• 33:17
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 33:18
SPEAKER_01: And you know we're forgetting like one of the most famous like fall movies of all time.
• 33:22
  SPEAKER_01: That's a Disney movie.
• 33:24
  SPEAKER_01: Hocus Pocus?
• 33:26
  SPEAKER_01: Yep.
• 33:26
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 33:26
SPEAKER_03: I thought you were gonna say Nightmare Before Christmas.
• 33:29
  SPEAKER_01: No.
• 33:29
SPEAKER_01: Also that's fair too, though.
• 33:31
SPEAKER_01: I liked the sequel a lot, actually, Hocus Pocus.
• 33:34
SPEAKER_01: Okay, I was wondering where you're I was like, what?
• 33:36
  SPEAKER_01: There's a sequel to Halloween?
• 33:38
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah, you know that?
• 33:39
SPEAKER_01: Uh I did I don't know if I like I don't know if I like the sequel as much as I like the first one.
• 33:46
SPEAKER_02: I've only seen the original for Hocus Pocus, so I don't know anything about the original or the re the sequel.
• 33:52
  SPEAKER_02: G actually talked today.
• 33:54
  SPEAKER_03: It's okay.
• 33:55
  SPEAKER_03: I can't it's my first episode.
• 33:57
SPEAKER_03: I thought I would hate the sequel.
• 34:00
SPEAKER_03: Like I saw the trailers and I was like, of course this is what it is.
• 34:03
SPEAKER_03: Like, this is some bull crap.
• 34:05
SPEAKER_03: And I was I was I was getting really ready to just trash the movie, and then I was like, that's a really good movie.
• 34:12
SPEAKER_01: So I watched one last year that was like one of Disney's first take at like a Halloween movie, and it was uh called Something Wicked This Way Comes.
• 34:22
  SPEAKER_01: It was alright.
• 34:23
  SPEAKER_01: It's def it's old though.
• 34:25
SPEAKER_01: Like this thing came out in the 70s.
• 34:27
SPEAKER_03: Like Yeah, I haven't seen that one yet.
• 34:30
SPEAKER_01: It's alright, but very good take at like their first Halloween type movie.
• 34:36
  SPEAKER_03: You know what movie?
• 34:37
SPEAKER_03: This is like my version of Halloween Town, but as an adult, because and it's gonna sound weird, but it gave me the same feelings and everything I got as a kid for Halloween Town, but I guess as a grown-up.
• 34:50
SPEAKER_03: And I watch it every year.
• 34:53
SPEAKER_03: It's uh Hubie's Halloween, the Adam Sandler one.
• 34:57
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 34:58
SPEAKER_03: But they really like that old school spirit of Halloween time and fall time, they really emphasize on that.
• 35:05
SPEAKER_03: And I'm like, I feel like I'm watching like the adult version of Halloween Town.
• 35:10
  SPEAKER_03: That's fair.
• 35:11
  SPEAKER_03: It's a lot of fun.
• 35:12
SPEAKER_03: Uh yeah, every year I watch Hubie Halloween.
• 35:15
  SPEAKER_03: It is hilarious.
• 35:16
  SPEAKER_03: I love that movie.
• 35:17
  SPEAKER_03: That's like my go-to every year.
• 35:19
SPEAKER_01: See, my go-to every year I have to watch is Halloween Tree.
• 35:23
  SPEAKER_01: I love Halloween Tree.
• 35:24
SPEAKER_01: It's based off the book.
• 35:25
  SPEAKER_01: I love the book.
• 35:26
SPEAKER_01: I love the cartoon movie.
• 35:27
SPEAKER_03: Okay, Cody and I are both shaking our heads.
• 35:29
SPEAKER_03: Nope, don't know what that is.
• 35:30
SPEAKER_03: Let me look that up.
• 35:32
SPEAKER_01: Never even heard of it till now.
• 35:33
  SPEAKER_01: Leonard Nimoy in it.
• 35:35
  SPEAKER_01: Uh Spock?
• 35:37
  SPEAKER_01: Yep.
• 35:38
  SPEAKER_01: He's uh the narrator.
• 35:42
  SPEAKER_01: And then Mr.
• 35:43
SPEAKER_01: Monthroad is somebody I cannot think of his name, though.
• 35:47
  SPEAKER_03: Oh this.
• 35:50
  SPEAKER_03: I've never seen it.
• 35:52
SPEAKER_03: But yeah, I know what you're talking about.
• 35:54
SPEAKER_03: See if any of that looks familiar to you.
• 35:56
SPEAKER_02: Uh not even a little bit.
• 35:58
  SPEAKER_03: Okay.
• 35:58
  SPEAKER_03: Uh well.
• 35:59
  SPEAKER_01: Nothing.
• 36:00
  SPEAKER_01: I love that movie.
• 36:01
SPEAKER_01: I've never seen that movie.
• 36:03
SPEAKER_01: Oh, and then we always watch Treehouse of Horror, every single one.
• 36:08
SPEAKER_01: Big Simpsons family over here.
• 36:10
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I'd watch those.
• 36:12
  SPEAKER_03: I would I like Halloween specials.
• 36:14
  SPEAKER_01: I do too.
• 36:15
SPEAKER_01: Like back in the day, the Flintstones had one that was freaking great.
• 36:19
SPEAKER_01: Had to deal with like Fred.
• 36:22
SPEAKER_01: Fred's uncle had passed away, and he had to stay in the house in order to get the money, but like twelve other people had to do it too.
• 36:30
  SPEAKER_01: Uh-huh.
• 36:31
SPEAKER_01: It's it was an old like cartoon special, Cartoon Network special.
• 36:35
SPEAKER_01: I just v like vividly remember that.
• 36:38
SPEAKER_01: And it was paired with the Scooby-Doo special too.
• 36:40
  SPEAKER_01: I can't remember the Scooby-Doo one though.
• 36:43
SPEAKER_03: I can't think of any fall time movies though, because after Halloween, like it's Christmas movies.
• 36:51
  SPEAKER_03: You know?
• 36:52
  SPEAKER_03: Oh yeah.
• 36:52
  SPEAKER_02: I mean, a big one.
• 36:54
SPEAKER_02: I mean, we've talked I think we've talked about it on a past episode for something, but I mean it's we've all agreed it's a great uh kids' movie.
• 37:01
SPEAKER_02: I mean, Coco is fully around like Halloween.
• 37:06
SPEAKER_02: I get not our Halloween, but still within that realm.
• 37:11
SPEAKER_03: Yeah, but is that a fall time movie though?
• 37:12
SPEAKER_03: Is that still a Halloween movie?
• 37:14
SPEAKER_02: Because even if it's like oh Halloween just the general vibe around this time of year, whether it's Halloween specifically or fall in general.
• 37:23
SPEAKER_03: Because like that is a Halloween movie.
• 37:24
SPEAKER_03: It's like, well, it's Mexican Halloween, yeah, but that's like the day after our Halloween.
• 37:29
SPEAKER_03: So it's not like it's it's green, it's not like it's like uh Canadian Thanksgiving.
• 37:36
SPEAKER_03: Like, no, it's it's the same time of year, so yeah.
• 37:40
SPEAKER_01: I don't know, I always like watching October Sky around this fall time.
• 37:48
SPEAKER_01: It's a random fall movie to watch, but I like watching it.
• 37:52
SPEAKER_03: I've seen that movie once in sixth grade science class.
• 37:57
SPEAKER_03: That's that's before I knew who Jake Joan Hall was.
• 38:01
  SPEAKER_03: So Yeah.
• 38:02
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 38:03
SPEAKER_02: Uh I mean, if you're just looking again, probably closer to Halloween feel than just fall, but I mean you could throw in Ghostbusters.
• 38:11
SPEAKER_03: Oh yes! Oh yes, this is the time of year I watch Ghostbusters all the time.
• 38:17
SPEAKER_03: What about Tucker and Dale vs.
• 38:19
  SPEAKER_03: Evil?
• 38:20
  SPEAKER_02: Great movie.
• 38:22
SPEAKER_03: Did I watch that one with you, Cody?
• 38:24
  SPEAKER_02: I don't know.
• 38:26
SPEAKER_02: Because I've seen that with a couple people now.
• 38:28
  SPEAKER_02: I love that movie.
• 38:29
SPEAKER_03: I can't remember if it was you or your brother I saw that with.
• 38:32
  SPEAKER_03: Uh dude, I think.
• 38:35
SPEAKER_02: I think the first time I saw it was at college.
• 38:37
SPEAKER_02: Now, if we've watched it together at some point, it's probably likely.
• 38:42
SPEAKER_03: My favorite line is you better not hurt my dog, or I'm gonna get real mad.
• 38:47
SPEAKER_03: It's like great threat, dude.
• 38:52
SPEAKER_01: All these kids are just committing dooside all around us.
• 38:57
SPEAKER_03: What are we supposed to do?
• 38:58
SPEAKER_03: Look at the police officer and say, gee, police officer, we've had a doozy of a day.
• 39:01
SPEAKER_03: All these college kids just committing suicide.
• 39:04
SPEAKER_03: And then the police officer shows up.
• 39:06
SPEAKER_03: Gee officer, we've had a doozy of a day.
• 39:12
SPEAKER_03: Or he goes, he's super nervous to talk to the girl, so he goes to give her pancakes, but he looks like he's ready to like kill her, and she starts freaking out.
• 39:21
  SPEAKER_03: He's like, oh, stupid.
• 39:22
SPEAKER_03: Of course, Carl's girls don't like pancakes, stupid, stupid.
• 39:26
SPEAKER_03: And he walks out and she's like, pancakes?
• 39:30
  SPEAKER_03: He's like stupid.
• 39:34
  SPEAKER_03: I freaking love that.
• 39:36
  SPEAKER_03: It's so good.
• 39:37
SPEAKER_02: It's such a good movie, and the same realm of like comedy horror we could all Zombieland.
• 39:45
  SPEAKER_02: That is fair.
• 39:46
SPEAKER_02: I haven't seen Zombie Land in years.
• 39:48
  SPEAKER_02: Wow.
• 39:49
SPEAKER_02: I need to watch the sequel still.
• 39:51
SPEAKER_01: I thought it's definitely not as good as the first one.
• 39:54
SPEAKER_03: Oh, I don't expect it to be, but I need to see it.
• 39:57
SPEAKER_03: I've seen bits and parts of it, but I haven't fully seen the sequel, no.
• 40:02
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
• 40:03
SPEAKER_03: Um what's another good Halloween or something like that?
• 40:09
  SPEAKER_01: So question.
• 40:10
SPEAKER_01: Does like remember the Titans or like the Boys of Fall feel like fall movies to you?
• 40:18
SPEAKER_03: I would say Remember the Titans is 100% a fall time movie.
• 40:22
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I mean, with that one being in football season, especially high school football, like yeah, it's definitely a fall time.
• 40:29
SPEAKER_02: That's what I was like, I could see that being another.
• 40:32
SPEAKER_02: I've never watched it as we've discussed previously, but I mean it would make sense, yeah.
• 40:36
SPEAKER_03: Okay, I got I got one for you.
• 40:38
SPEAKER_03: And this is this is so I would love to know your guys' takes on this, because this is something I bring up every year with my friends and family, and every year sometimes even from the same person, I get different answers.
• 40:53
  SPEAKER_02: Okay.
• 40:53
SPEAKER_03: I don't I don't know what my opinion is at this point, to be honest.
• 40:57
SPEAKER_03: I can literally go either way.
• 40:59
SPEAKER_03: I don't care which movies, by the way, but if we want to get specific, the first two movies, okay?
• 41:06
SPEAKER_03: Out of seven, I'm gonna say like the first two movies, is Harry Potter.
• 41:13
SPEAKER_03: A Halloween time film or a Christmas time film.
• 41:20
SPEAKER_01: I always watch them at Christmas.
• 41:25
SPEAKER_03: So, Cody, what you're going through right now is what I've been going through for like the past ten years.
• 41:30
SPEAKER_02: The problem for me is I haven't watched all of them, so I don't super know.
• 41:35
SPEAKER_02: If we're going the first two, the feeling of it does feel more fall-ish.
• 41:43
SPEAKER_03: But they sh but like, yes, but like there are Christmas scenes.
• 41:49
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah, there are.
• 41:50
SPEAKER_03: And I think the boy do those movies play at Christmas time, I feel like, more than they do at fall time.
• 41:56
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
• 41:57
  SPEAKER_03: I don't know.
• 41:58
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I don't know.
• 41:59
SPEAKER_02: Let us know in the comments.
• 42:00
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah, let us know.
• 42:01
SPEAKER_02: Hey, just hey Justin, let us know.
• 42:03
SPEAKER_02: Is Harry Potter more Halloween coded or Christmas coded?
• 42:07
SPEAKER_01: I'm pretty sure we've had this talk before with Justin, too.
• 42:10
  SPEAKER_02: Have we?
• 42:10
SPEAKER_02: Dude, I think we have.
• 42:12
  SPEAKER_03: I don't even slightly remember that.
• 42:14
SPEAKER_03: Apparently, according to Justin, we had a lot of hot takes last episode or one of one of our previous episodes.
• 42:23
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
• 42:23
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
• 42:24
  SPEAKER_03: The remaining 2026 episodes?
• 42:26
SPEAKER_03: I don't remember having hot takes in that one.
• 42:30
SPEAKER_02: I'd have to go back and listen again because I don't remember.
• 42:36
SPEAKER_02: I think the big one that he was mentioning was I think it was you specifically, John, saying that you think Doomsday will easily beat Endgame.
• 42:48
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah, it's going to.
• 42:49
  SPEAKER_02: I I don't know if I can agree with that.
• 42:52
SPEAKER_02: Easily, like, I'm not saying it won't beat it, but I don't think it's easily beating.
• 42:56
SPEAKER_03: I mean, I I think it's gonna be it easily how how Spider-Man easily got two billion.
• 43:04
SPEAKER_03: Like, yeah, it took some time, but it was like there was no discussion it was gonna make two billion dollars.
• 43:10
  SPEAKER_02: I don't even know that one.
• 43:12
SPEAKER_03: I think Doomsday, like, there's no discussion, it's gonna make three billion dollars.
• 43:17
SPEAKER_03: It may be like three billion and one dollar square like but like but like yeah, it's gonna it's gonna do it.
• 43:27
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, but I don't think that's easily beating it if it barely gets there.
• 43:31
SPEAKER_03: It's not here's the thing, it's not easy to get a billion anywhere.
• 43:34
SPEAKER_03: It's not easy to it's definitely not easy to get two billion.
• 43:39
SPEAKER_03: But w in the sense of like is it gonna is it is it a piece of cake in the sense that it's gonna it's gonna reach it no matter what?
• 43:48
  SPEAKER_03: Yes.
• 43:50
  SPEAKER_03: So that's that's why I'm like easily.
• 43:53
  SPEAKER_03: It's I don't know.
• 43:54
  SPEAKER_03: There's no discussion.
• 43:55
SPEAKER_03: Anyways, back to back to the main topic.
• 43:57
SPEAKER_03: Yeah, so Harry Potter, what is it?
• 43:59
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
• 44:00
SPEAKER_01: I find it to be Christmas.
• 44:01
  SPEAKER_03: Okay.
• 44:02
SPEAKER_01: I always watch them with Christmas with the kids and family and all that jazz.
• 44:06
  SPEAKER_01: Okay.
• 44:07
SPEAKER_01: Same with Die Hard, because Die Hard's a Christmas movement.
• 44:09
  SPEAKER_03: Die Hard's not a Christmas movie.
• 44:11
SPEAKER_03: Is if Die Hard's a Christmas movie, then so is Jurassic World.
• 44:16
SPEAKER_02: I don't have any argument for that.
• 44:18
SPEAKER_03: Because Jurassic World starts with a Christmas song.
• 44:21
SPEAKER_03: It is in the wintertime, it is snowing, and that is their Christmas present that on Christmas they are going to Jurassic World, and it does take place on Christmas time.
• 44:30
  SPEAKER_01: Okay.
• 44:31
  SPEAKER_01: It's a Christmas movie then.
• 44:32
SPEAKER_03: No, it's not! It is not a Christmas movie.
• 44:35
SPEAKER_01: With that logic, it feels like it is.
• 44:37
SPEAKER_03: But that's the logic that everyone gives about diehard.
• 44:41
SPEAKER_01: But at least I don't see a fall on that.
• 44:43
SPEAKER_03: At least with Harry Potter, I'm like, does the feeling of Harry Potter feel more like Christmas or fall time?
• 44:51
SPEAKER_03: Because when I watch it at Christmas time, I'm like, I feel like I should have seen this a few months ago.
• 44:56
SPEAKER_03: But when I see it a few months ago, I'm like, I don't know, man, it's got a Christmas feeling to it.
• 45:01
SPEAKER_03: Die Hard has an action movie feeling to it.
• 45:04
SPEAKER_03: Jurassic Park has a dinosaur movie to it, but people are like, oh no, Die Hard Play's not Christmas.
• 45:11
  SPEAKER_03: It's a Christmas movie.
• 45:12
  SPEAKER_03: So that's Jurassic World.
• 45:13
SPEAKER_02: So you're saying Jingle All the Way isn't a Christmas movie because it's an action movie.
• 45:18
SPEAKER_03: Yes, actually, I have seen Jingle All the Way once, which I didn't.
• 45:22
  SPEAKER_03: I forget a lot of it.
• 45:24
SPEAKER_03: That is a child action movie.
• 45:27
SPEAKER_01: So they're all Christmas movies.
• 45:31
SPEAKER_01: They're all Christmas movies because it's not Christmas until I see Alan Rickman get thrown off Nakatomi Plaza by Bruce Willis.
• 45:37
SPEAKER_03: It's not Christmas until I see uh Tim Allen accidentally murder Santa Claus.
• 45:42
  SPEAKER_03: Correct.
• 45:43
  SPEAKER_01: That's also correct.
• 45:44
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
• 45:44
SPEAKER_03: That's that's more accurate of a if you want to see somebody get thrown out of a building or fall from a building, have it be the Santa Claus then, not die hard.
• 45:54
SPEAKER_02: It needs to be both.
• 45:56
SPEAKER_02: Is the nightmare before Christmas a Halloween or a Christmas movie?
• 45:59
  SPEAKER_03: That one is both.
• 46:00
SPEAKER_03: It takes place on both days.
• 46:02
  SPEAKER_03: It starts on Halloween.
• 46:03
SPEAKER_02: It does, but it starts on Halloween.
• 46:05
SPEAKER_03: You have that awkward in-between period that we all feel, and then it ends on Christmas.
• 46:09
  SPEAKER_03: Oh yeah.
• 46:09
SPEAKER_02: But I feel like less of it is technically on Halloween because it starts at as Halloween is ending.
• 46:16
SPEAKER_02: But it takes place in Halloween Town.
• 46:20
SPEAKER_02: And they go to Christmas Town.
• 46:22
SPEAKER_03: They go to Christmas Town.
• 46:23
  SPEAKER_02: And Easter Town.
• 46:24
  SPEAKER_03: Hold on.
• 46:24
  SPEAKER_03: Hold on.
• 46:25
SPEAKER_03: They go to Christmas Town once.
• 46:27
  SPEAKER_03: This is true.
• 46:28
SPEAKER_03: But they stay in Halloween Town.
• 46:30
  SPEAKER_03: This is true.
• 46:31
  SPEAKER_02: Technically, I would agree.
• 46:33
  SPEAKER_02: It is probably both.
• 46:34
SPEAKER_02: I just didn't know if like people would say it's one more than the other.
• 46:37
SPEAKER_03: And I think I think Nightmare Before Christmas is the only thing out there that is both.
• 46:46
  SPEAKER_03: Fair.
• 46:47
SPEAKER_03: I think there is an answer to the Harry Potter one.
• 46:49
SPEAKER_03: I don't think it's an easy answer, but I do think there's an answer to that one.
• 46:53
SPEAKER_03: We just don't know it yet.
• 46:55
SPEAKER_03: So until then, I I do think Nightmare Before Christmas, not Elm Street, but Nightmare Before Christmas is both.
• 47:04
SPEAKER_03: And even if her if it's like, oh Harry Potter is both, I think that's just accidental because of the feeling we get.
• 47:11
SPEAKER_03: Where I think that was actually created to be both.
• 47:15
  SPEAKER_03: Okay.
• 47:15
  SPEAKER_03: That's fair.
• 47:17
SPEAKER_03: But uh Ghostbusters you can watch any any time of year.
• 47:21
  SPEAKER_03: So it's a good movie.
• 47:31
  SPEAKER_03: And stuff like that.
• 47:32
SPEAKER_03: Like I'm a big apple cider guy.
• 47:34
SPEAKER_03: I'm an apple cider freak.
• 47:36
SPEAKER_03: The second that stuff is for sale, I am all about it.
• 47:39
SPEAKER_03: And I like it warm.
• 47:41
SPEAKER_01: So have you bought it now?
• 47:42
  SPEAKER_03: Is it out now?
• 47:44
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 47:44
  SPEAKER_01: Oh.
• 47:46
SPEAKER_03: The last freaking time I went to the store, it wasn't out.
• 47:48
SPEAKER_03: So I don't have to go to the store today, so if it's there, yeah, I'm buying it.
• 47:52
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
• 47:52
  unknown: Pumpkin spice.
• 47:54
  SPEAKER_03: It's apple spice.
• 47:56
SPEAKER_01: But pumpkin spice is out too.
• 47:58
SPEAKER_03: Whoever controls the spice controls the universe.
• 48:01
  SPEAKER_01: Yes.
• 48:02
  SPEAKER_01: Yes.
• 48:02
  SPEAKER_01: So Starbucks.
• 48:03
  SPEAKER_03: This is the way.
• 48:06
  SPEAKER_03: Starbucks controls the universe.
• 48:08
SPEAKER_03: You heard it here first.
• 48:10
SPEAKER_03: What music would Starbucks be?
• 48:12
  SPEAKER_03: Christmas.
• 48:13
  SPEAKER_03: It's just Christmas music year-round.
• 48:16
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 48:16
  SPEAKER_01: Or fall.
• 48:17
SPEAKER_01: Because that's when pumpkin spice comes out.
• 48:19
SPEAKER_03: No, they're going to be that relaxing piano music you hear in like lobbies.
• 48:24
  SPEAKER_03: Yep.
• 48:25
  SPEAKER_03: That's fair.
• 48:26
SPEAKER_03: You know what music they play?
• 48:28
SPEAKER_03: Whatever Target had playing in 2001, not Target, Kmart had playing in 2001, that's what Starbucks is.
• 48:35
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
• 48:36
SPEAKER_03: A lot of smash mouth.
• 48:38
SPEAKER_01: I can't believe there's Kmart reference on this episode.
• 48:42
SPEAKER_03: You know what Starbucks plays?
• 48:43
SPEAKER_03: They play I'm here without you, baby! That's what they play.
• 48:47
  SPEAKER_03: Oh yeah.
• 48:47
  SPEAKER_03: That's Starbucks.
• 48:49
SPEAKER_03: There's nothing wrong with that.
• 48:50
  SPEAKER_03: No, it's not there.
• 48:51
  SPEAKER_03: No, there isn't.
• 48:52
SPEAKER_03: I don't make it sound like there is, but there isn't.
• 48:54
  SPEAKER_03: That's what Starbucks is.
• 48:55
SPEAKER_02: I feel like we've missed one really big fall slash Halloween movie, though, that if I don't mention it, my sister might stab me for.
• 49:09
  SPEAKER_02: It's about a bald cartoon character?
• 49:12
SPEAKER_02: I guess you could call him bald.
• 49:14
  SPEAKER_02: Oh, freaking Charlie Brown?
• 49:16
SPEAKER_02: Don't say his name three times.
• 49:18
  SPEAKER_02: Charlie Brown?
• 49:20
  SPEAKER_02: Charlie Brown?
• 49:21
  SPEAKER_02: Beetlejuice.
• 49:22
  SPEAKER_02: Friggin' Snoopy shows up.
• 49:23
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, Beetlejuice is a good job.
• 49:25
SPEAKER_02: Beetlejuice is a good one.
• 49:26
SPEAKER_02: Beetlejuice is a classic Halloween movie.
• 49:29
SPEAKER_02: I mean, if it if you don't watch that Halloween, when do you watch it?
• 49:33
  SPEAKER_02: Um Christmas.
• 49:37
SPEAKER_03: Watch it whenever you feel like.
• 49:40
  SPEAKER_01: I like Beetlejuice a lot.
• 49:42
  SPEAKER_01: It's a great one.
• 49:43
SPEAKER_01: I like the cartoon a lot, too.
• 49:45
SPEAKER_01: Uh see, I didn't like the cartoon a whole lot.
• 49:47
SPEAKER_03: Well, your childhood's bad, so.
• 49:49
SPEAKER_01: But I did like uh Creep Show, that cartoon, along with uh I don't watch that one.
• 49:55
SPEAKER_01: The little skeleton dude, you know what I'm talking about?
• 49:58
  SPEAKER_01: No.
• 49:59
  SPEAKER_01: Uh Cool man.
• 50:01
  SPEAKER_01: I can't think of the guy's name.
• 50:02
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah, Beetlejuice, man.
• 50:04
  SPEAKER_03: I've said it twice.
• 50:04
SPEAKER_03: I don't know how many times you've said it, but once.
• 50:07
SPEAKER_03: Alright, well, nah, I've used up my I've used up my stuff.
• 50:12
  SPEAKER_03: Gosh darn.
• 50:14
SPEAKER_03: Have you seen the second movie yet?
• 50:15
  SPEAKER_03: No, I need to.
• 50:17
SPEAKER_02: I didn't like the second one a whole lot.
• 50:19
SPEAKER_02: I think I've heard mixed on it.
• 50:21
SPEAKER_02: I've heard some people really liked it and some people really didn't.
• 50:25
SPEAKER_03: I heard the first half was like, why did you make this?
• 50:28
SPEAKER_03: And the second half was like, I wasn't so bad.
• 50:32
SPEAKER_03: But you have a good point, Alex.
• 50:34
  SPEAKER_03: Um yeah, Charlie Brown.
• 50:37
SPEAKER_03: And uh with the magnificent pumpkin.
• 50:40
  SPEAKER_03: The great pumpkin.
• 50:41
  SPEAKER_03: The great pumpkin.
• 50:41
  SPEAKER_03: I can't remember.
• 50:42
  SPEAKER_03: The Great Magnificent.
• 50:45
SPEAKER_03: I'm not gonna lie, the I never I've never seen it, but I I had I did hear it, where I was at some sort of like Boy Scout fall event that my mom was running, and in the radio, uh NPR was broadcasting Charlie Brown and the Great Pumpkin, and I listened to it beginning to end, and my mom had to just describe to me what was happening when it was visual stuff, and I remember I was like, What are we listening to?
• 51:18
SPEAKER_03: She's like Charlie Brown and the Great Pumpkin.
• 51:20
SPEAKER_03: I was like, I've never seen that one.
• 51:21
SPEAKER_03: And my mom looks at me and goes, I have failed as a parent.
• 51:26
SPEAKER_03: I go, I was like, not really.
• 51:28
SPEAKER_03: She's like, Have you seen all the other Charlie Browns?
• 51:30
SPEAKER_03: I go, Yeah, she goes, I failed as a parent.
• 51:33
SPEAKER_03: And I guess she's still failing because I've never seen it to this day.
• 51:37
SPEAKER_03: But I heard it, and and I'm not gonna lie, in a nice, cool, like autumn night, where like it's just cloudy, there's no stars, and the windows are down, and you're underneath one, the only light post that there is, and you're just eyes closed listening to this, it's magical.
• 52:00
  SPEAKER_03: It's amazing.
• 52:01
SPEAKER_03: I recommend that's the only way to enjoy Charlie Brown and the Great Pumpkin.
• 52:06
  SPEAKER_01: Well, there's also a Dr.
• 52:07
  SPEAKER_01: Seuss one, too.
• 52:10
  SPEAKER_01: What?
• 52:10
  SPEAKER_01: It's called Grinch Night.
• 52:13
  SPEAKER_01: It's a Halloween.
• 52:14
  SPEAKER_01: You're making that up.
• 52:15
  SPEAKER_01: I swear it's not.
• 52:16
SPEAKER_03: I'm looking that up right now.
• 52:18
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I've never heard of that one.
• 52:20
SPEAKER_03: I feel like Cody in this episode.
• 52:22
  SPEAKER_03: I I don't know anything you're talking about.
• 52:24
SPEAKER_02: Hey, also, does Wednesday count as a fall?
• 52:27
SPEAKER_02: You could count it, yeah.
• 52:28
  SPEAKER_02: Adam's Family?
• 52:29
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 52:29
SPEAKER_02: Wednesday, Adam's Family, all of it would be like.
• 52:32
  SPEAKER_03: Holy crap, 1977.
• 52:34
SPEAKER_03: Halloween is Grinch Night, and 1977 animated TV special uh serves as a psychedelic prequel to the classic How the Grinch Stole Christmas.
• 52:48
  SPEAKER_03: What a poll.
• 52:49
  SPEAKER_01: Yep.
• 52:50
  SPEAKER_03: Whoa.
• 52:53
  SPEAKER_03: Okay.
• 52:55
  SPEAKER_03: Jebadia.
• 52:56
SPEAKER_01: That's the only reason I remember that.
• 52:58
  SPEAKER_03: That's crazy.
• 53:01
  SPEAKER_03: Man.
• 53:02
  SPEAKER_03: Nope.
• 53:02
SPEAKER_03: Never, never saw or heard of that.
• 53:05
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
• 53:06
SPEAKER_01: I've seen it recall times.
• 53:08
SPEAKER_01: And then you got Scooby-Doo, obviously.
• 53:10
  SPEAKER_01: Oh yeah.
• 53:13
  SPEAKER_03: What's the Scooby-Doo?
• 53:15
SPEAKER_03: Is Scoob like Scooby-Doo in general or like specific like?
• 53:20
  SPEAKER_03: Oh actually, no.
• 53:21
  SPEAKER_03: No, no.
• 53:22
SPEAKER_03: What was the Scooby-Doo when they do when they sign up for the class the dance class, but it was for the monsters children?
• 53:28
  SPEAKER_03: Google school.
• 53:29
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
• 53:29
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 53:30
  SPEAKER_02: It was ghoul school.
• 53:31
  SPEAKER_02: They're the teachers.
• 53:32
SPEAKER_03: Yeah, yeah, they were the teachers, yeah.
• 53:35
SPEAKER_03: That was my like fall time thing as a kid forever.
• 53:41
SPEAKER_01: And then it goes into Scooby-Doo, meets the Boo Brothers.
• 53:45
  SPEAKER_01: Yep.
• 53:45
SPEAKER_01: And then I'm pretty sure the werewolf derby's in that same run.
• 53:50
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, it's in the same run of movies where there it was just shaggy and Scooby and Scrappy.
• 53:56
  SPEAKER_02: That's uh reluctant werewolf.
• 53:57
  SPEAKER_03: What came out first?
• 53:58
SPEAKER_03: The Google School or Zombie Island?
• 54:01
  SPEAKER_02: Uh Ghoul School, yeah.
• 54:02
  SPEAKER_03: Okay.
• 54:03
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
• 54:04
SPEAKER_03: Zombie Island was the one I fell off on.
• 54:06
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
• 54:06
SPEAKER_03: Because I was like, after Ghoul School was cool.
• 54:09
SPEAKER_03: I didn't know they made more after that.
• 54:11
SPEAKER_03: Then I saw Zombie Island.
• 54:12
SPEAKER_02: Really they hadn't, and they I don't know specifically in the timeline when Ghoul School falls with those other ones, but really after that group, they hadn't made movies until Zombie Island in that group of movies.
• 54:27
SPEAKER_03: I thought Ghoul School was like a movie special.
• 54:31
SPEAKER_02: It was like a it might have been like a TV special, but it had been like I th if I'm thinking of like the timeliner, I think it was over a decade between that group of movies and the next time they made more movies.
• 54:44
SPEAKER_03: Oh, I have no idea.
• 54:45
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 54:45
SPEAKER_01: You think it came out in the 90s?
• 54:47
SPEAKER_01: I thought Ghoul School came out in the 80s.
• 54:49
  SPEAKER_01: That's why I said over a decade.
• 54:51
  SPEAKER_01: Oh, okay.
• 54:51
  SPEAKER_01: I didn't say exactly, I said over.
• 54:54
  SPEAKER_03: Oh man.
• 54:54
  SPEAKER_03: There's so much Scooby-Doo stuff.
• 54:56
  SPEAKER_02: There is.
• 54:57
SPEAKER_02: But the plus side is you can probably watch any of it and not watch anything else, and you won't really be that lost.
• 55:04
SPEAKER_02: Some of them will do some throwbacks, but for the most part, you'll be fine.
• 55:09
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I don't know.
• 55:13
  SPEAKER_01: Um let's see.
• 55:15
SPEAKER_01: I guess courage, the cowardly dog, reminds me of the phone.
• 55:18
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 55:19
  SPEAKER_02: I hadn't even thought about courage.
• 55:21
SPEAKER_02: That was a good one.
• 55:22
SPEAKER_01: Alright, I'm trying to think.
• 55:23
  SPEAKER_01: Did Rocket Power Power?
• 55:25
SPEAKER_03: I was literally about to say Rocket Power, because okay, so I don't know if this was a thing for you guys growing up, but mischief night was a thing for us.
• 55:34
SPEAKER_03: Do you know what mischief night is?
• 55:36
SPEAKER_02: No, I grew up in the middle of Missouri.
• 55:38
SPEAKER_03: Okay, so I found that a lot of people in the middle of Missouri when I came when I moved here back in 2008 had no idea what mischief night is, which I thought was crazy because the Rocket Power special for Halloween was a mischief night episode.
• 55:54
SPEAKER_03: So I was like, okay.
• 55:57
SPEAKER_03: It was one thing me living on the East Coast and thinking Mischief Night was an East Coast thing, but the fact that Rocket Power broadcasted everywhere and it took place in Hawaii, I was like, everyone knows about mischief night.
• 56:09
SPEAKER_03: And turns out I guess not everyone knows about mischief night.
• 56:13
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
• 56:14
SPEAKER_03: Do you do you know what do you know the concept of mischief night?
• 56:17
SPEAKER_02: No, but I feel like I could put it together.
• 56:20
SPEAKER_03: What do you think mischief night is?
• 56:22
SPEAKER_02: I mean, it sounds like that's when you would go out like teepee houses and that kind of stuff, ding-dong ditch, all that like stuff.
• 56:31
SPEAKER_03: Did you ding on ditch and mischief night?
• 56:33
  SPEAKER_03: I don't think we did a lot of ding-dong ditching.
• 56:35
SPEAKER_02: No, this was more like just sounds seems like that kind of stuff.
• 56:40
SPEAKER_03: Yeah, do you know when it takes place?
• 56:41
  SPEAKER_02: No, not a clue.
• 56:42
  SPEAKER_03: The day before Halloween.
• 56:45
SPEAKER_03: And that's when you would like smash pumpkins.
• 56:47
SPEAKER_03: That's when you would the smashing pumpkins?
• 56:50
  SPEAKER_03: Yep, the smashing pumpkins.
• 56:52
SPEAKER_03: Yep, that's you would they were everywhere.
• 56:54
SPEAKER_03: So yeah, that's when you would cause mischief.
• 56:56
SPEAKER_03: And like I remember like the police patrol in my neighborhood growing up was like always double on mischief night, and I would always look out the window.
• 57:07
SPEAKER_03: Wow, you're oh, excuse me, just burped.
• 57:10
SPEAKER_03: Remember looking out the window and like watching the cops, watching kids scatter and run, watching cops chase kids, and like because yeah, because you know, stink bomb, smash pumpkins, tee ping, um, like everyone knew that like egging was part of it.
• 57:30
  SPEAKER_03: It was frowned upon.
• 57:31
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
• 57:32
SPEAKER_03: Like if you were the type of person that would egg a house, you were like, okay, you're a you're a dick on mischief night.
• 57:38
SPEAKER_03: Like every like smashing pumpkins like was borderline just because you know kids would be disappointed that their pumpkins were smashed and then they would just rot there.
• 57:46
  SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
• 57:46
  SPEAKER_03: That was like borderline.
• 57:48
SPEAKER_03: TP was like the main thing, but like if you were to egg a house, like it was just like you're a dick on mischief night.
• 57:54
SPEAKER_03: Um fireworks just setting them off.
• 57:59
  SPEAKER_03: Okay.
• 57:59
SPEAKER_03: But like we're talking about like in a neighborhood.
• 58:01
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
• 58:02
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
• 58:02
SPEAKER_02: So you just set off, like put a mortar in the middle of the road and they were usually just usually just poppers.
• 58:08
SPEAKER_03: You just like throw in the sewer or just throw at someone's like front porch, a pop and scare the crap out of them.
• 58:13
SPEAKER_03: Just a little firecracker to do it.
• 58:15
SPEAKER_03: Yeah, or you blow up a pumpkin with it.
• 58:17
  SPEAKER_03: Okay.
• 58:18
  SPEAKER_03: Mess up decorations.
• 58:19
SPEAKER_03: You know, don't again, like, don't break any decorations, but like you ever everything's inflated, you just unplug it.
• 58:25
SPEAKER_02: Or if it's staked in the ground, you just take it out and let it be.
• 58:28
