Transcript
- 0:09Speaker 1: Inside.
- 0:10Speaker 2: The Birds is back. What's up, everybody, It's Jeff Mosher
- 0:15Speaker 2: Adam Kaplan. What we are doing is looking at all
- 0:18Speaker 2: the coaching changes.
- 0:20Speaker 1: In the NFC East for the Eagles opponents.
- 0:22Speaker 2: We're gonna go through the Giants in this one, and boy,
- 0:25Speaker 2: of all the teams, Adam in the NFC East, this
- 0:27Speaker 2: is the most radically changed staff. So many different moving parts,
- 0:32Speaker 2: so many new coaches and totally new regime. And you
- 0:35Speaker 2: can sort of you could definitely shoehorn front office in
- 0:38Speaker 2: there because with John Harbaugh in charge, he's not just
- 0:41Speaker 2: the head coach, but he's got a lot of power
- 0:44Speaker 2: now over the front office as well. And that is
- 0:46Speaker 2: the one thing that sticks out to him. I've always
- 0:48Speaker 2: felt John, you know, knowing him from when he was
- 0:50Speaker 2: here in Philly, Sure you did too. He was always
- 0:52Speaker 2: a level headed guy. He was always a guy who
- 0:55Speaker 2: I thought was real pragmatic. But you never know how
- 0:58Speaker 2: someone's gonna react because he didn't have this Baltimore. You
- 1:01Speaker 2: never know how someone is going to handle it when
- 1:03Speaker 2: they've got as like, maybe twice as much power as
- 1:06Speaker 2: they ever have before. Because even the most level head,
- 1:09Speaker 2: even Andy Reid when he had it in Philadelphia didn't
- 1:12Speaker 2: always use it the right way, it didn't always handle
- 1:14Speaker 2: it well. And now that's going to be John Harbaugh's
- 1:17Speaker 2: responsibility in a huge market for a franchise that is
- 1:20Speaker 2: just starving to be good again.
- 1:24Speaker 3: Yeah, they are. It's a they finally got a competent
- 1:27Speaker 3: head coach. Guy's done it. I understand near the end
- 1:30Speaker 3: it wasn't great, but you're talking at the staleness and
- 1:34Speaker 3: Andy read all that. But Harves is a great coach.
- 1:38Speaker 3: I mean, he really is. He's got very good command
- 1:41Speaker 3: that he's got, Like I don't know how much he
- 1:45Speaker 3: asked for. I know he wanted to. I know he
- 1:47Speaker 3: wanted to report to the owner. He wanted the same
- 1:49Speaker 3: set up as he had in Baltimore. But what he's got,
- 1:52Speaker 3: which he didn't really have in Baltimore's control a lot
- 1:55Speaker 3: of it. And also Kevin Abrams is out. Abrams I'm
- 1:57Speaker 3: told was going to say he was let go and
- 2:02Speaker 3: probably January, And what's happened was he was really the
- 2:06Speaker 3: contract negotiator. Donna Ponte came in from the League office
- 2:10Speaker 3: who used to be with the Jets many years ago.
- 2:13Speaker 3: I think one or two of her kids are actually
- 2:15Speaker 3: working in the National Football League, and Donna Ponte is
- 2:18Speaker 3: going to now oversee operations and strategy and what what
- 2:22Speaker 3: it is is that encompasses a lot it's analytics contracts
- 2:26Speaker 3: because she's been involved with contracts and lays on to
- 2:30Speaker 3: the league office, which is very important, so definitely important
- 2:33Speaker 3: that you can get a like that's what John Ferrari did.
- 2:35Speaker 3: That's the beauty of John Ferrari. H were in on
- 2:38Speaker 3: that that they were how he was very really I
- 2:41Speaker 3: don't want to say innovative, but he was one of
- 2:43Speaker 3: the few gms who saw the value of having someone
- 2:45Speaker 3: from the league office who's worked there. So yeah, she
- 2:49Speaker 3: So Joe Shane now is he's still the GM, but
- 2:53Speaker 3: he's lost power and now every big decision has to
- 2:56Speaker 3: go through John Mara. That's just that'll never change, right,
- 2:59Speaker 3: But her ball now it's a yeah. And Donna Ponte
- 3:02Speaker 3: reports to Harball.
- 3:02Speaker 2: I believe she might be the highest ranking woman in
- 3:05Speaker 2: the NFL. I know that Catherine Rache is an assistant
- 3:08Speaker 2: general manager. She came from the Eagles and went to
- 3:10Speaker 2: Cleveland with with Andrew Berry.
- 3:12Speaker 1: But you're talking about the New York Giants here, not
- 3:14Speaker 1: the Cleveland Browns. And reporter to John Harbaugh.
- 3:17Speaker 3: So sure, it's a big deal, a big deal, and
- 3:20Speaker 3: they most not all, most other coaches are gone on
- 3:23Speaker 3: both sides of the football. They did keep Chad Hall,
- 3:25Speaker 3: who will My understanding was there he was it was
- 3:28Speaker 3: either he was either gonna be the quarterbacks coach or
- 3:30Speaker 3: receivers coach. But they interviewed Brian Callahan, the former Titans
- 3:35Speaker 3: head coach, and he was also an o C quarterbacks
- 3:37Speaker 3: coach over the year, so he'll be the quarterbacks coach.
- 3:39Speaker 3: Matt Naggie will be the OC. Naggie who was a
- 3:43Speaker 3: runner up to be the head coach for the Titans.
- 3:46Speaker 3: He he runs more, he likes if he's got enough receivers.
- 3:49Speaker 3: As I understand, it spread concepts, so depending if they
- 3:52Speaker 3: could get Wandel Robinson back, who had a really good year. Yep,
- 3:56Speaker 3: because you got Slayton coming off the AC excuse me,
- 3:58Speaker 3: neighbors coming off the ACL. Slaton back who can run.
- 4:00Speaker 3: Not much else. Jalen Hyde has been at bust, he's been,
- 4:04Speaker 3: hadn't done a thing. They just draft to speed, but
- 4:06Speaker 3: that was about it. They I love when the Giant
- 4:09Speaker 3: fans came after me in training because we did our show.
- 4:12Speaker 3: But I think you and I might have done it
- 4:14Speaker 3: separate previther than with Greg And I said he's too thin. Oh,
- 4:17Speaker 3: we put on twenty five pounds of muscle. What do
- 4:19Speaker 3: you talk about. You's gonna have a breakout season. Now
- 4:23Speaker 3: he had a break wrong season, Yeah, breaking in nothing
- 4:27Speaker 3: have it? He just like every receiver's coach I talked
- 4:30Speaker 3: before the draft said, two finasse does it. All he
- 4:33Speaker 3: could do is run in a straight line like you
- 4:36Speaker 3: could put We've said this about DEFENSEI plays you coul
- 4:38Speaker 3: put all the weight on you want, but if you're
- 4:39Speaker 3: not physical enough, it doesn't matter how much you weigh, right,
- 4:42Speaker 3: And he just doesn't have it. And it's hard to
- 4:44Speaker 3: get that that dog in you, as they say the
- 4:47Speaker 3: coaches look for. It's hard, man, It's hard.
- 4:50Speaker 2: Yeah. Can you imagine if the Giants, and I know
- 4:52Speaker 2: Naggy wasn't his offensive corners beene me in Kansas City,
- 4:55Speaker 2: but if they tried to make a run at Tyreek
- 4:57Speaker 2: Hill to get Tyreek Hill and neighbors in there, and really.
- 5:03Speaker 3: What a bad injury? It's yeah, I know. If he
- 5:05Speaker 3: won't keep it healthy, yeah, he's my goodness, gracious, that's
- 5:09Speaker 3: one of the worst knee injuries I've ever heard of.
- 5:11Speaker 1: I mean, it's just yeah, it was amazing that he
- 5:13Speaker 1: just came back. I mean, you know, to be able
- 5:14Speaker 1: to come back from that.
- 5:16Speaker 3: Well he remember Tyreek, But this one, this one is
- 5:22Speaker 3: bad like this one. Yeah, I mean the Dolphins were
- 5:25Speaker 3: that this is not a as we always say, it's
- 5:27Speaker 3: about cash, not cap This is a cash issue. They
- 5:30Speaker 3: were not going to pay him thirty five million bucks
- 5:32Speaker 3: in total with what everything he was going to be owed,
- 5:34Speaker 3: and yeah, they're gonna they're gonna save it. Well we'll
- 5:37Speaker 3: take the cap bit, they'll use the post June one.
- 5:39Speaker 3: But yeah, getting back to the Giants here, I.
- 5:43Speaker 2: Was being presumptuous there. I was assuming Tyreek Kill was
- 5:46Speaker 2: gonna is going to come back.
- 5:48Speaker 1: But I shouldn't because he did have a very gruesome injury.
- 5:50Speaker 3: He's been training. I mean, look, I know Ross Jerrosanousse
- 5:53Speaker 3: will tell everyone he's, you know, doing great, and that's fine. Yeah,
- 5:55Speaker 3: but he's he's a very interesting guy. But getting back
- 6:00Speaker 3: to the Giants here, so then now this is interesting.
- 6:06Speaker 3: Jannard Wilson, another guy with Philly ties obviously, who really
- 6:09Speaker 3: should have been the decordinator with Sean de Side, but
- 6:11Speaker 3: it didn't happen. So Denard Wilson will run a thirty
- 6:15Speaker 3: four where you're looking into if he's going to run
- 6:17Speaker 3: fanjo or not, or what exactly who's going to run
- 6:20Speaker 3: because he's got sort of some bottom we're in him,
- 6:23Speaker 3: some fangios, some other systems in him, and we're we're
- 6:31Speaker 3: going to look to see what exactly he's going to do.
- 6:33Speaker 3: You know, they've been running thirty four for a while
- 6:35Speaker 3: and they got the great thing about the Giants is
- 6:37Speaker 3: you don't have to worry about their past. Rush and
- 6:39Speaker 3: Abdull Carter, who had pretty significant maturity problems which we
- 6:42Speaker 3: didn't know about before the draft, never heard one thing
- 6:44Speaker 3: about him. Yeah, and then all of a sudden there
- 6:46Speaker 3: was some crazy stuff out there. Yeah. Then he owned
- 6:50Speaker 3: up to it and then he saw Boy did he
- 6:51Speaker 3: come on late in the season. So you've got Burns
- 6:55Speaker 3: Thibodeau if they don't trade him. Chauncy Golson's not a
- 6:59Speaker 3: bad back cup with Carter. I mean they got they
- 7:02Speaker 3: got there for a Carricaide linebacker at you. They'll play
- 7:05Speaker 3: two inside backers, as Vic likes to say, they'll they'll
- 7:09Speaker 3: figure out who the other one will be corners. Where
- 7:11Speaker 3: they got you know corners where they struggled. Man, it's
- 7:14Speaker 3: it's been a problem for them.
- 7:16Speaker 1: Yeah. Sure, I'm pretty sure. When Dinnard Wilson was with
- 7:20Speaker 1: the Jets, he coached under Greg Williams.
- 7:23Speaker 3: I was gonna say that, which Greg Williams is a
- 7:25Speaker 3: forty three. He's running little bit of thirty four, but
- 7:27Speaker 3: he's generally forty three. Guy. Yeah, Coach Williams is on Twitter.
- 7:30Speaker 3: We should try to reach out to him.
- 7:31Speaker 1: We should, we should. He's an interesting he is.
- 7:35Speaker 3: His son's pretty good. I think his son might have
- 7:38Speaker 3: been gone into real estate was coaching. But yeah, he
- 7:41Speaker 3: coach Williams is. He'll almost say anything.
- 7:43Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, but he's a big get after the quarter.
- 7:46Speaker 2: He's not afraid to blame.
- 7:48Speaker 3: We said it earlier. He plays sometimes for no reason,
- 7:51Speaker 3: but or not that's the not. But uh, he's the
- 7:54Speaker 3: one who said all the resumes? What did he say?
- 7:56Speaker 3: He got all these what he say?
- 7:57Speaker 2: Oh?
- 7:57Speaker 3: I got does the job offers? Right? What are these crap?
- 8:00Speaker 1: Yes? Something like that? Yeah, him and Rob Ryan then
- 8:03Speaker 1: the whole I'll have a job yeah the second.
- 8:05Speaker 3: Yeah, exactly right, right right, But overall, look they're going
- 8:10Speaker 3: through coaching changes here. Oh we should mention and you
- 8:14Speaker 3: know it's going to be run see Naggie. This is
- 8:16Speaker 3: going to be a true with Naggie because he's about
- 8:18Speaker 3: when he had it rolling for the last two years.
- 8:20Speaker 3: We're not good with Bears, obviously with Trubisky, who's no
- 8:23Speaker 3: one could really develop. But oh they made the playoffs
- 8:27Speaker 3: with him. Hard to believe.
- 8:28Speaker 2: Honestly, the worst season there. They were eight and eight
- 8:30Speaker 2: for two years after making the playoffs and then six
- 8:32Speaker 2: and ten. I mean a lot worse than nag than
- 8:35Speaker 2: Niggy's tenure.
- 8:36Speaker 3: And yeah, no that he got he the the Twitter,
- 8:38Speaker 3: the Twitter haters, that they went after him.
- 8:40Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean it was bad because he kept he
- 8:42Speaker 2: gave play calling the laser, then he took a pack,
- 8:44Speaker 2: then he came.
- 8:45Speaker 1: It was a mess. Obviously they were saved by their defense.
- 8:47Speaker 2: You can call me neurotic, but I was a little
- 8:49Speaker 2: nervous when the revolution started for people sending money electronically,
- 8:53Speaker 2: especially when you read about all the scammers out there.
- 8:56Speaker 2: But I have great peace of mind using cash. I
- 8:59Speaker 2: actually love using it. Cash app makes security the priority.

- 11:13Speaker 3: Yeah, but it's going to have to start with the
- 11:14Speaker 3: run because Greg Roman. I don't know if Greg all
- 11:17Speaker 3: the ways from Atlantic City. I don't know if you
- 11:18Speaker 3: have any ties to Naggy. We obviously know Harball actually
- 11:21Speaker 3: fired him in Baltimore. But that's really interesting that he
- 11:24Speaker 3: brought him back. Good for harp So that's uh, he's
- 11:27Speaker 3: got it. He's a great run game the signer and
- 11:29Speaker 3: Naggie will handle the pass, and Chadhall's a great receivers coach,
- 11:32Speaker 3: one of the probably top three their offense. That look,
- 11:35Speaker 3: I know that the rookie quarterback Dart was really up
- 11:39Speaker 3: and down man when he lost it. He was staring
- 11:42Speaker 3: down past targets. He was sort of seeing ghosts a
- 11:43Speaker 3: little bit. He's an athlete, good arm, good size, but
- 11:47Speaker 3: he needs hard coaching. He needs to play with more discipline.
- 11:50Speaker 2: So I mean, it strikes me what you're saying here, Adam,
- 11:53Speaker 2: is that they have a lot of really good They
- 11:55Speaker 2: have a lot of experience, a lot of winners here
- 11:58Speaker 2: in their coaching staff, from hart Ball.
- 12:00Speaker 1: Out of Nagy.
- 12:01Speaker 2: Brian Callahan not not necessarily a winner, but he's been
- 12:04Speaker 2: a little and yeah with the Bengals more so than
- 12:07Speaker 2: than obviously Tennessee Greg Roman, you mentioned I My feeling
- 12:12Speaker 2: is this, I there was a time where if Todd
- 12:15Speaker 2: Munkin didn't get that Brown job he was going to be,
- 12:17Speaker 2: he would have definitely been it.
- 12:20Speaker 1: I've even heard Harbo say that we all know it.
- 12:23Speaker 2: So if that were if Monkin had been their offensive coordinator,
- 12:26Speaker 2: I would have looked at this Giants team and probably
- 12:31Speaker 2: there's just gonna be this conversation like who could be
- 12:33Speaker 2: the next Patriots?
- 12:34Speaker 1: A terrible team that can run.
- 12:36Speaker 3: I'm still there. I'm still there.
- 12:37Speaker 2: I'm just not yet because there, because I'm What worries
- 12:41Speaker 2: me about their offensive staff is despite the fact that
- 12:43Speaker 2: there are all some proven coaches who have been either
- 12:45Speaker 2: head coaches or coordinators, I don't get you were bringing
- 12:48Speaker 2: this up.
- 12:49Speaker 1: I don't I don't get the symmetry there.
- 12:51Speaker 2: Like you when you said that, I was I'm with
- 12:54Speaker 2: you on Outer Nagy and Greg Roman, who are two schools.
- 12:58Speaker 1: Of thought that are not the.
- 13:01Speaker 2: And I know Harball is a great galvanizer and he's
- 13:04Speaker 2: a people's coach and a coach's coach, and if anybody
- 13:07Speaker 2: can do it, he can. But that's why I'm saying,
- 13:09Speaker 2: if Monkinn had been there and they kind of got
- 13:11Speaker 2: their own Monkin guys in that system, I would have said, Man,
- 13:14Speaker 2: the Giants, they they are like maybe two or three moves,
- 13:17Speaker 2: whether it's draft or free agents, away from really being dangerous.
- 13:21Speaker 1: And they could be.
- 13:22Speaker 2: But I'm just not sure how this is all gonna
- 13:24Speaker 2: work with these minds that they've brought in on offense.
- 13:27Speaker 2: I'm a little reluctant on that.
- 13:30Speaker 3: In Harves, by the way, brought in his own head
- 13:33Speaker 3: athletic trainer. So you're Ronnie, you know, the legendary Ronnie
- 13:36Speaker 3: Barnes is in his seventies, is going to have his
- 13:40Speaker 3: titles changed?
- 13:41Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 13:41Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean Tarv's got like this is the most power,
- 13:44Speaker 3: not that he shouldn't have been able to bring in
- 13:46Speaker 3: who he wants as coaches, but he's got a lot
- 13:48Speaker 3: of he's got a lot of swag. Now it's it's
- 13:50Speaker 3: gonna be interesting to see what happens. I give the
- 13:52Speaker 3: Giants credit. Chris Hortener came in from Baltimore was also
- 13:55Speaker 3: specially he's going to be the assistant special teams coach.
- 13:58Speaker 3: But what No, he's actually the assistant head coach, special
- 14:02Speaker 3: teams coach, who is Harve's special teams coach in Baltimore.
- 14:05Speaker 3: But when you do this, when you're laying out this
- 14:08Speaker 3: kind of cash, you're gonna expect results, and I don't know.
- 14:12Speaker 3: The Giants fans are been exasperated by the clown show.
- 14:16Speaker 3: It's been for many years there quite frankly. Other though,
- 14:18Speaker 3: when they shocked the world made the playoffs the first
- 14:21Speaker 3: year of day ball in twenty two and actually beat
- 14:23Speaker 3: the Vikings, that was a shocker. But since that it's
- 14:25Speaker 3: been terrible. It's terrible for that with oh god, just
- 14:29Speaker 3: such bad coaching and so many bad roster moves. But
- 14:33Speaker 3: now there are gonna be some expectations.
- 14:35Speaker 2: Yeah, how do you think in general Harball being in
- 14:39Speaker 2: a New York fishball environment compared to a Baltimore one,
- 14:44Speaker 2: because you know how hard is he wants everybody to
- 14:47Speaker 2: like pull in the same direction and be all about
- 14:49Speaker 2: his team, and like.
- 14:51Speaker 3: That's not going to work with the New York media, Well,
- 14:53Speaker 3: I would say this. In recent years, he's been great
- 14:56Speaker 3: with injury information. I don't know if they talked to
- 14:59Speaker 3: him about it. I don't know what happened, but yeah,
- 15:03Speaker 3: I was he was like one of the better ones
- 15:04Speaker 3: I've given out information. I was like, he used to
- 15:06Speaker 3: not do that. I don't know what happened. He says,
- 15:09Speaker 3: you get older, he's in the sixties now. I don't
- 15:11Speaker 3: know if I don't know, if he's like, you know,
- 15:12Speaker 3: why am I being so tough with the media. Right,
- 15:15Speaker 3: It's been actually better with the media, so we'll see it's. Uh.
- 15:19Speaker 3: I totally missed out on his brother Jim year one
- 15:22Speaker 3: with the Chargers turning around. I should have known better.
- 15:24Speaker 3: I missed out on Varabel this season. I didn't see
- 15:26Speaker 3: it with a roster. I don't think many did around
- 15:28Speaker 3: the NFL. Yeah, the the the obvious choice. I haven't
- 15:32Speaker 3: seen the future numbers. They've got to be nine wins,
- 15:34Speaker 3: got to be over five hundreds.
- 15:35Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 15:35Speaker 2: I think the Giants have talent and plus they have
- 15:37Speaker 2: a top ten pick, and my god, if they get
- 15:39Speaker 2: Kleb Branson uh in that that or no, I'm sorry,
- 15:42Speaker 2: Caleb downs, ransom and kill anyway, if they get downs
- 15:46Speaker 2: in that secondary because you've seen Harbaugh when he has
- 15:48Speaker 2: a good safety, whether it's Ed Reed or Kyle Hamilton,
- 15:51Speaker 2: I mean he's had something to use him, right though,
- 15:53Speaker 2: I think they will.
- 15:54Speaker 1: I think year one or not.
- 15:57Speaker 3: Yeah, Kyle Hamilton year one was not, and then after
- 15:59Speaker 3: that it came a star. Yeah, em and Wire. Look,
- 16:02Speaker 3: you got to use them the right way. Yeah, because
- 16:04Speaker 3: you don't safety is big draft of that high you
- 16:06Speaker 3: just don't do it.
- 16:08Speaker 2: I think they'll figure it out based on what he
- 16:10Speaker 2: did in Baltimore. They'll know how to use kill him now.
- 16:13Speaker 3: Yeah, and one thing. Look, We've said this before recently
- 16:16Speaker 3: and I'd like to say it again. It would be
- 16:18Speaker 3: nothing better. It's the NFC used to be a great division,
- 16:20Speaker 3: not the NFC least anymore correct. See it, there's a
- 16:22Speaker 3: great division. When you don't know who's gonna win on
- 16:25Speaker 3: it's just you watch the game and go, wow, this
- 16:26Speaker 3: has been a great game. You just you just don't
- 16:29Speaker 3: get it. I mean, Washington two years ago shocked us.
- 16:32Speaker 3: They were there were there, was great until the Eagles
- 16:34Speaker 3: boat raced them. It's some crazy something like that. I'll
- 16:37Speaker 3: look in it up. So in the playoffs, but then
- 16:40Speaker 3: they fell off. Dallas has been a clown show defensively,
- 16:43Speaker 3: that's just stated that. Not not competitive. Now they've they've
- 16:47Speaker 3: got a young and up and coming, really sharp coach
- 16:50Speaker 3: and Christian Parker, but kind of get buy in. Don't know.
- 16:54Speaker 3: There's a lot of mystery though. That's the one thing.
- 16:57Speaker 3: They're eight new offensive defense coordinators excuse me, out of
- 17:01Speaker 3: eight Okay, there's six new ones and four first time
- 17:05Speaker 3: play callers. It's a lot. It's a lot of change.
- 17:07Speaker 3: That's the mystery. You just don't know for sure, that's right.
- 17:12Speaker 1: I hate to use this phrase. I'm gonna use it.
- 17:14Speaker 1: I don't like to use this phrase because sometimes it's
- 17:16Speaker 1: it's disrespectful.
- 17:17Speaker 2: But it does feel like with hardball there and the
- 17:20Speaker 2: staff he's brought in, there's more adults in the room,
- 17:24Speaker 2: as some people like to say, as far as just
- 17:26Speaker 2: having the right leadership, the connectivity to the players, symmetry,
- 17:31Speaker 2: you know, and look, Stable's good offensive coordinator. There were
- 17:35Speaker 2: things that he did, you know, going into the tent
- 17:37Speaker 2: to see you know, getting red faced, shooting with his coaches.
- 17:41Speaker 2: He was too temperament, especially in that one.
- 17:43Speaker 3: He's a terrible temper He's a guy that is talking
- 17:47Speaker 3: to people work with him for a number of years.
- 17:49Speaker 3: He could be incredibly gracious and great. The coaches right,
- 17:52Speaker 3: and then just obliterate him like he just don't like
- 17:55Speaker 3: they try to figuret where he's coming from. But I
- 17:58Speaker 3: think he's a good person who's just kind of inflicted.
- 18:00Speaker 3: And then the craziness of what he did going to
- 18:02Speaker 3: that medical tent. He knows better than that. Yeah, oh,
- 18:04Speaker 3: I had to have an answer, Like, dude, there's a
- 18:06Speaker 3: way that you can try to get an answer with
- 18:09Speaker 3: the medical t you can't check right, It's ridiculous.
- 18:12Speaker 2: John Harboll's ultimate goal will be to build a program
- 18:15Speaker 2: and build a team that has enough depth right and
- 18:20Speaker 2: is well stocked so that you are not paralyzed by
- 18:23Speaker 2: fear when one player, including your quarterback, goes into the
- 18:26Speaker 2: medical tent that.
- 18:27Speaker 1: You have to go run in there.
- 18:28Speaker 2: Oh jeez. He's a program builder. He's going to have
- 18:32Speaker 2: he's going to have a calmness about him. But yet
- 18:34Speaker 2: he's also gonna be able to convey his message and
- 18:36Speaker 2: trickle it down. And I and I think that's something
- 18:39Speaker 2: like you look at some past coaches for the Giants,
- 18:41Speaker 2: whether it's Joe Judge or even who's the guy from
- 18:44Speaker 2: Green Bay who's almost.
- 18:48Speaker 1: It's too big a press conference, right, Like, how do
- 18:51Speaker 1: you command? But I mean, but he's his presence is
- 18:55Speaker 1: a little. But yeah, I think John will command that
- 18:58Speaker 1: from the start.
- 19:00Speaker 3: That gets buying gets buying. And and look, it's funny.
- 19:04Speaker 3: I love the under six and a half wins last
- 19:06Speaker 3: year and and they should have had nine easy yeah,
- 19:10Speaker 3: I don't know what the fourth quarters, how many exactly,
- 19:13Speaker 3: I don't know what the I don't know what the
- 19:14Speaker 3: record is choking games, and of Brandon Staley Chargers were
- 19:17Speaker 3: going to charge her. You know, cowboys are gonna do cowboys,
- 19:19Speaker 3: I say, but my god, the number of chokes that
- 19:22Speaker 3: the Giants had, it sort of had to be a
- 19:24Speaker 3: team record.
- 19:25Speaker 1: Oh my god.
- 19:25Speaker 2: Well, if you took the collective points that they choked
- 19:28Speaker 2: up in fourth quarters over, that might have been set
- 19:30Speaker 2: an NFL record.
- 19:31Speaker 3: I could see why you Dave got to pissed off.
- 19:33Speaker 1: Yeah, what was it? Eighteen points against the broadcast?
- 19:37Speaker 3: Dude? They the broadcast didn't score points to the fourth court.
- 19:39Speaker 3: They know real, they know nothing. You want to talk
- 19:44Speaker 3: about a team playing awful football.
- 19:46Speaker 1: Uh huh?
- 19:46Speaker 3: Dead in the water and I I just it was
- 19:49Speaker 3: one of the I think I'm almost certain we had
- 19:51Speaker 3: the game on four o'clock games because it was a
- 19:54Speaker 3: Denver so we had the game on and it was
- 19:57Speaker 3: such a it was such a train wreck. I was like,
- 19:59Speaker 3: I can't my ass off because they're going to choke again,
- 20:02Speaker 3: right And I'm like, oh no, oh no, no, it's
- 20:05Speaker 3: it can't. But it did.
- 20:06Speaker 2: Yeah, and then yeah, and then weeks later came the
- 20:08Speaker 2: Bears one and that's the one that costs cost him
- 20:11Speaker 2: his job.
- 20:12Speaker 3: They had enough, I mean they had enough.
- 20:14Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, but no, there should be some stability. And
- 20:18Speaker 2: I know people we've probably talked about this before because
- 20:20Speaker 2: the Giants have been loading up on talented players. They've
- 20:23Speaker 2: had so many top five picks, and we've probably said like,
- 20:26Speaker 2: they're ready, they're ready, but you know, we'll probably say
- 20:29Speaker 2: it again this year. But I mean, I think you
- 20:31Speaker 2: can feel a little more convicted with the coaching staff
- 20:33Speaker 2: that they brought in that there's there's guys who know
- 20:35Speaker 2: how to win.
- 20:36Speaker 3: There, yeah, there are there are naggs is wan to.
- 20:40Speaker 3: He must have want us for both the Chiefs I
- 20:42Speaker 3: do right or too.
- 20:43Speaker 1: Yeah against the Eagles.
- 20:44Speaker 3: Yeah. In fact, he was the quarterbacks coach for Mahomes'
- 20:47Speaker 3: best year in twenty two. Right, But the question is
- 20:50Speaker 3: are play calling that the last few years are play
- 20:52Speaker 3: going fair to Curticists have no problem with it because
- 20:54Speaker 3: the fact I don't. I don't argue with facts, right,
- 20:56Speaker 3: but the exactly like this guy can't coach like these
- 20:59Speaker 3: these the Twitter like they when they want you, there's
- 21:03Speaker 3: a small section, and that stuff has impact man, unfortunately,
- 21:07Speaker 3: does you know? Certainly?

- 23:34Speaker 2: go beyond the new coaching staff, the scheme and really
- 23:36Speaker 2: the personnel, how it's all gonna fit and and that'll

- 24:06Speaker 3: you know, but h I say it? Would you not
- 24:09Speaker 3: say it's a legendary Eagle.
- 24:11Speaker 1: We were talking about for asking Eagle right, ye asking?
- 24:14Speaker 2: Also yes, yeah, yeah, Well we've got two guys now, yes,
- 24:17Speaker 2: a coach and player, but the player will be really
- 24:21Speaker 2: really awesome for player.
- 24:23Speaker 3: The player's response is great, and he to me is
- 24:25Speaker 3: an Eagle legend. There's no question next to what side
- 24:28Speaker 3: of football. Yep, he was a tremendous player, not even
- 24:31Speaker 3: to say the deck the years who he's with.
- 24:33Speaker 1: But I think it's fair to say yes, absolutely looking
- 24:35Speaker 1: forward to that.
- 24:36Speaker 2: And by the way, before we end this show, if
- 24:38Speaker 2: you haven't caught it yet, not necessarily a legend, but
- 24:41Speaker 2: a really known player for the Eagles in the early
- 24:43Speaker 2: Andy days. Jeff Thomason Andrew de Checo did a wonderful interview.
- 24:47Speaker 2: We put it on both our our YouTube and our
- 24:49Speaker 2: podcast platform. It was a special to check O Daily.
- 24:53Speaker 2: He caught up with Jeff thomas and everybody remembers they
- 24:55Speaker 2: signed him that Super Bowl year in four when Chad
- 24:57Speaker 2: Lewis broke his foot right and that one yes right, yeah,
- 25:01Speaker 2: But Thomasin had been with the Eagles before. He's kind
- 25:03Speaker 2: of made. He had a little famous celebration that people
- 25:06Speaker 2: got to know about. But it was a great interview,
- 25:08Speaker 2: great interview with great stories from Jeff Thomasin and Andrew
- 25:11Speaker 2: asked a bunch of really great questions, so make sure
- 25:13Speaker 2: you check that out.
