- 0:00Happy snow. A gammon.
- 0:04Get it? Armageddon.
- 0:07Armageddon means oh, bad, it's Armageddon.
- 0:14Happy Saturday, everybody. The day clock says it's
- 0:19Saturday. All right.
- 0:23I-55 Federated Auto Parts Raceway Park, 10 minutes from my
- 0:30house has a big race March 19th, 2020.
- 0:36First, it's called Mods Gone Wild, $5000 to win for the A
- 0:43mods and B mods. Be there.
- 0:47OK everybody, We're on The Weather Channel today.
- 0:54We're on The Weather Channel. Look at that.
- 0:56Negative temperatures everywhere, heavy snow streaks
- 1:01across Mid-Atlantic states. The snow is so exciting for
- 1:08everybody in Charlotte, NC. I'm excited for you all.
- 1:14All right, there's so much to say.
- 1:18As I predicted years ago, the NASCAR Hall of Fame is
- 1:24wonderful. I think it's absolutely the
- 1:27greatest to celebrate those drivers that gave their whole
- 1:32lives to NASCAR. I think it's awesome.
- 1:40However, I said that we would run out of people and here's
- 1:48why. In Major League Baseball and in
- 1:53NFL, you have 22 players per team.
- 2:02That's very it's very important to remember.
- 2:05So it in in other sports, which we're not like we're not like
- 2:11other sports. However, the other sports will
- 2:15never run out of Hall of Fame people because they got way more
- 2:19people in NASCAR. What we have is we have, you
- 2:30know, I mean, I really mean this respond right here.
- 2:35Everybody help me if you think I'm wrong.
- 2:38I, I don't care. I don't mind being wrong.
- 2:41I don't mind being wrong, but I did the math does not add up for
- 2:45the NASCAR Hall of Fame. I don't see how you're going to
- 2:51put somebody in the Hall of Fame every year unless we don't pay
- 2:58attention to stats, and that's where I come in.
- 3:05Dale Jarrett just said something that I totally agree with.
- 3:09He said. We're going to have to start
- 3:12putting people in the Hall of Fame that have done more than
- 3:16winning and they are not superstars, Dale Jarrett said.
- 3:22I want to see Jimmy Makar. Jimmy Makar was on Brother
- 3:27Rusty's team, the Blue Max team, you know, the number 27 Kodiak
- 3:33car. Jimmy Makar was a great crew
- 3:37chief, but he started Joe Gibbs Racing.
- 3:41Now you might not know Jimmy. He might not be a superstar, but
- 3:48he was pivotal. He did start Joe Gibbs Racing.
- 3:53Then the other one that I agree with is my friend Jeff Burton.
- 4:00Jeff Burton won about 22 Cup races.
- 4:05I think he's a superstar inside the garage area.
- 4:09Jeff Burton is a superstar. Here's why, Because he's the
- 4:13mayor, he's very pivotal at the start of safety.
- 4:17He basically Jeff Burton was the very first driver to run the
- 4:23self-contained seat, not the first for the Hans device.
- 4:28The Hans device was way before us Indycars ran the Hans device.
- 4:34But the self-contained seat, Jeff Burton was the very first
- 4:39one to show up at Daytona. And everybody go, what the hell
- 4:43is Jeff Burton doing? That's just an example, but
- 4:50let's do the math a little bit, OK?
- 4:53Once again, I'm reminding everybody the NASCAR Hall of
- 4:57Fame is going to run out of and basically is running out of
- 5:01people to put in the Hall of Fame.
- 5:04And Dale, I'm just, I just got this story from Dale Jarrett.
- 5:07Don't don't blame it on me. Claire B Lang.
- 5:12Claire B Lang was interviewing Dale Jarrett.
- 5:16Dale Jarrett was the one that said this.
- 5:18Now, so if we're to put in three drivers per year and you got a
- 5:2440 car starting field, which you can't go with 40, OK, let's just
- 5:30say half the field, let's just say 20, 36912 3rd port 15 in
- 5:42eight years you have everybody in.
- 5:46If you put in three drivers per year, now you got to start
- 5:51grabbing crew chiefs, tire changers, right?
- 5:58So respond right here, respond right here.
- 6:03How are we going to? I mean, we should be out of
- 6:06people for the Hall of Fame, right?
- 6:10OK, Who do you think belongs in the Hall of Fame that is not a
- 6:15superstar. So superstar is debatable.
- 6:20What is a superstar? I think a superstar's.
- 6:27I think a real superstar is Dale Earnhardt Junior.
- 6:32He's known throughout the world and he's and he doesn't even
- 6:37race anymore. However, he is a superstar
- 6:41because of all the reasons Dale Earnhardt senior son he he was
- 6:48the MTV era. He wore the hat backwards.
- 6:53He won a lot of races, he won a lot of Xfinity championship.
- 6:59Dale Junior's flat ass good, but more importantly, he drew
- 7:04millions of new fans to the sport.
- 7:08And that's where I think Dale Jarrett is exactly right.
- 7:13We got to start putting people in the Hall of Fame and and he
- 7:17said it. I didn't say it.
- 7:18Dale Jarrett said that maybe aren't superstars.
- 7:22Then he caught himself and he said, well, Jeff Gordon is a
- 7:25superstar. Now listen, Jeff Burton is my
- 7:30dear friend. We just did.
- 7:32He is Kenny conversation this week right now.
- 7:35I spent over an hour with Jeff Burton.
- 7:39So that is the conversation. Is Jeff Burton the next person
- 7:46to put in the Hall of Fame? Not just for his 22 wins in the
- 7:50Cup Series, but more importantly because he created safety in
- 7:57NASCAR and right now he's on NBC.
- 8:02He's part of the driver council for the Race and Alliance.
- 8:08All right, everybody. I think that's a good one.
- 8:11And give me some people that aren't superstars.
- 8:14Respond right here. Give me some people that are not
- 8:17superstars that need to be in the NASCAR Hall of Fame.
- 8:21Larry McReynolds, Larry McReynolds has devoted his whole
- 8:25life. Larry McReynolds gave Dale
- 8:28Senior his very first Daytona 500 win, his first and only.
- 8:33I think Larry McReynolds should be in the NASCAR Hall of Fame.
- 8:36I really do. I really do.
- 8:40All right, everybody have a great snowy weekend.
- 8:46Keep that. Keep that electricity rolling,
- 8:48baby. Get yourself a generator.
