- 0:00Welcome to World View Matters, discussing controversial issues, discerning current events,
- 0:10defending biblical Christianity.
- 0:13No topic, off limits.
- 0:16And now, here's your host, David Fiorazo.
- 0:19Hello friends, family in Christ, welcome.
- 0:23Thank you so much for tuning in to World View Matters.
- 0:26Got a great guest today, Dr. Duke Pesto.
- 0:28We're going to be talking about DEI.
- 0:31I hope you're familiar with at least those initials.
- 0:34We're going to talk about where it came from, what it means,
- 0:37and kind of expose the scam, so to speak.
- 0:40I want to quote Christopher Rufo to kick off this program about DEI.
- 0:45He says, these programs preach the values of tolerance and inclusion,
- 0:51but in reality, serve as vehicles for left-wing racialist ideology
- 0:57and partisan political activism.
- 1:01I read a little bit more about what happened and where this came from.
- 1:05And one of the things that I believe, and I'll ask our expert in a minute,
- 1:10to explain this, M-F-E stands for merit, fairness, and equality.
- 1:16And it seems like DEI just all of a sudden dwarfed that.
- 1:19It's not even merit, it's not as important anymore.
- 1:21But I want to bring in our special guest today, Dr. Duke Pesto.
- 1:25He's a college professor and he is the director of Freedom Project Media,
- 1:29Freedom Project Academy, F-P-E-U-S-A.org.
- 1:33Welcome, Dr. Duke.
- 1:34Good to see you, Dave.
- 1:35Always good to see how you're doing today.
- 1:37Great.
- 1:37Good to have you, especially on this topic, DEI for dummies,
- 1:42because a lot of people don't know where this came from.
- 1:44So let's start right there.
- 1:46What is DEI?
- 1:48These words sound so innocent, and they sound so good.
- 1:51But where did this come from, and how is it being used today?
- 1:55DEI stands for diversity, equity, and inclusion,
- 1:58and wags, other than me, have pointed out
- 2:01that just to re-arrange the words, DEI is what you get.
- 2:04And it is the death of freedom and liberty.
- 2:06It really is.
- 2:07You think about the word equity.
- 2:08I want to start with there.
- 2:10So DEI, of course, the first thing I want to say about it,
- 2:14it is the enforcement mode of wokeness
- 2:17and political correctness.
- 2:20In fact, critical race theory is the idea
- 2:22that we must hijack all forms of culture,
- 2:26particularly education in this country,
- 2:28to teach a radical leftist view of race.
- 2:31And so the DEI is how it's implemented in schools.
- 2:35That's the major corporations, and the American militaries
- 2:39doing this now.
- 2:40So look, if you think about critical race theory,
- 2:42that's the theory or the idea that we're bringing back racism
- 2:47to fight racism, as Kendi, the famous social activist,
- 2:53professor, who says, what is the end of his book
- 2:56with racism in the past, racism today,
- 3:00and racism forever, basically.
- 3:02That the only way the left will win this battle
- 3:05if they segregate, and they racially segregate people
- 3:10in the way they say that the West is done in the past.
- 3:13So critical race theory is the idea,
- 3:16and let's go one step back real quick.
- 3:17Sure.
- 3:18There's Marxism out of which this emanates, right?
- 3:21This is pure, what the Marxists started with class warfare
- 3:26is now racial warfare.
- 3:28So this goes back to Marx, critical race theory
- 3:30is how it's been taught for the last 30 years or so.
- 3:33And then DEI is the implementation of that,
- 3:36taking over the institutions, and then transforming them,
- 3:40like you said, downplaying individuality, merit, achievement,
- 3:47all that stuff goes out the window
- 3:48because that's white supremacy now.
- 3:50And we replace it with diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- 3:55So to go back a little bit more, it's been ingrained in the system,
- 4:01meaning the University System Academic Corporations, of course.
- 4:05But people don't realize, I'm just one quick example,
- 4:09the University of Michigan.
- 4:11They began their DEI program in 2016.
- 4:15They will spend $63 million, and the NIH, National Institute of Health,
- 4:23will also chip in another $16 million
- 4:25for the Michigan program for advancing cultural transformation.
- 4:31That's a lot of words, to expand diversity and hiring.
- 4:35So you said something very interesting, racism in the past,
- 4:39racism now, racism.
- 4:40People like Jesse Jackson, and who's the other one,
- 4:44Sharpton, oh my goodness.
- 4:46Sharpton, they've made a living off of this,
- 4:50and there's got to be a victim.
- 4:53Yeah, and the U8 says something that was really important.
- 4:56Michigan, they say, has been doing it since 2016.
- 5:01Well, they've been doing it a lot longer than that.
- 5:03DEI came into play.
- 5:05Those initials came into play about 2015,
- 5:09but they've been doing this for 30, 40 years at the U8.
- 5:12It just wasn't called that.
- 5:13Yeah, yeah, I mean, think about what's the word I'm looking for.
- 5:18Political correctness, which was about 20 years of that,
- 5:21then you had the idea that you got in the public schools,
- 5:26with the multiculturalism.
- 5:29And all of that was this.
- 5:31Multiculturalism in the 70s and 80s basically argued the same thing.
- 5:35That white culture was wrong, western culture was evil,
- 5:38but non-western cultures couldn't be criticized because
- 5:41we don't have the right as white people to criticize
- 5:43the horrible record of Japan or China or Islam.
- 5:47So what we talk kids through Howard Zins' socialist history
- 5:51is that western culture is inherently wicked.
- 5:55When you see that same wickedness in much more severe aspects outside of the west,
- 6:02well, they get a pass.
- 6:03So our kids grew up believing that America was evil
- 6:06and that we had no right to call out or even recognize the evil of other cultures.
- 6:11That became political correctness.
- 6:13That became DEI in about 2015.
- 6:16And so Michigan's been doing this for a lot longer.
- 6:18And it's very alarming that they're tying it like as COVID, right?
- 6:23COVID was a health problem.
- 6:25And so therefore, in the name of health,
- 6:27big government had the right to censor and segregate.
- 6:30So they're calling now what they believe is racism the same thing.
- 6:35It's a national health organizations are kicking in money to this
- 6:39so they can control us better.
- 6:41Can you mention COVID?
- 6:42And I've got to bring this up.
- 6:44And we're jumping around a little bit.
- 6:45By the way, if you just joined us, my guest today is Dr. Duke Pesta.
- 6:48He's the director of Freedom Project Academy.
- 6:51It's interesting.
- 6:53I've been taking a lot of notes on this and preparing for this show today.
- 6:58And there's so much more to learn about this.
- 7:01And again, I want to go to Chris Rufo,
- 7:03who's done a lot of research on this topic.
- 7:05He's done a lot of good for Florida and Governor DeSantis on this issue.
- 7:10The radical left in the US has been using DEI to mask tyranny.
- 7:15They are hiding behind a Trojan horse.
- 7:18And inside are perpetrators of a new religious cult,
- 7:22diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- 7:25And he goes back to 2020.
- 7:27You mentioned that.
- 7:28You mentioned COVID.
- 7:29Well, along that time, George Floyd.
- 7:32And so the left politicized the death of George Floyd.
- 7:36And the door went law and order.
- 7:38And it seems like when all the protests were going on,
- 7:42they were violent.
- 7:43They were blowing up police cars and
- 7:46town cities.
- 7:48They were destroying businesses.
- 7:49A lot of minorities lost their businesses.
- 7:51Black people, Hispanic people.
- 7:54They were victims in this, but it was for the cause.
- 7:57Yeah, you're exactly right.
- 7:58And the George Floyd was a catalyst, right?
- 8:01Let's not forget that he's a career criminal.
- 8:03He was stoned out of his mind.
- 8:05He was dangerously unhealthy.
- 8:07Yeah, you could make the argument, I suppose,
- 8:09that the police overreacted, I guess.
- 8:13But this was not what it was pertained to.
- 8:15This was not vicious cops looking for the first black guy they met
- 8:20and destroying him.
- 8:21This was somebody who was in the wrong place at the wrong time
- 8:25because of his own behavior, his history, his drug problem,
- 8:30who ended up dying in the custody of the police.
- 8:32So there you go.
- 8:33Having said that, that was the catalyst, right?
- 8:36That's what allowed this to move forward so quickly,
- 8:40because Black Lives Matter was the response to this.
- 8:42But you make a good point, whether you're talking about DEI
- 8:45or you're talking about COVID,
- 8:46the government is figuring out ways
- 8:49that they can override individual liberties
- 8:52and the free markets of our country
- 8:56and the fact that in America,
- 8:59we are equally under law.
- 9:01We were never meant to be equal out of outcome.
- 9:04And that's it.
- 9:05This is the socialism, right?
- 9:06DEI and the word equity is your giveaway, equity.
- 9:10It's not about equality.
- 9:12And this is the lie of the left.
- 9:15We have equality under the law.
- 9:17It is against the law to discriminate on the basis of race.
- 9:21So the only way you get around that
- 9:23is to emphasize equity over equality.
- 9:28And by definition, equity is outcome-based solutions.
- 9:32The blacks don't have as much money as whites.
- 9:36Blacks don't have the educational opportunities
- 9:41we're told it's not true, that white people do.
- 9:43But because minority groups aren't as wealthy
- 9:46as all the other ones, that's racism, right?
- 9:50So this is, you see what they're doing.
- 9:51They're undermining equality.
- 9:54We have equality under the law.
- 9:56That includes African Americans.
- 9:58But the problem is that that doesn't give the left
- 10:02the socialist leveling off of culture that they want.
- 10:07Do you think we only have two minutes before we have to take a break?
- 10:09Do you think that if American history was taught unedited
- 10:13and including how our Americans dealt with slavery
- 10:19and how Christians fought to abolish slavery in America?
- 10:23Other countries still have slaves.
- 10:25And do you think that would have made a difference
- 10:27in them not being able to get so much
- 10:30going under the DEI and the systemic racism?
- 10:33It's not just the teaching of accurate American history
- 10:36that would help, but teaching world history.
- 10:38Because like you pointed out, it's only in the West, really,
- 10:41that slavery has been formally repudiated, laws against it.
- 10:45The West is the only place where wars were fought to stop it.
- 10:49It was the West who first got rid of it.
- 10:51And like you pointed out, places all across the world,
- 10:54the Chinese have a one million wheat
- 10:59Muslims in prison, concentration camps, you've got Islam,
- 11:02taking people, black Africans out of Southern Africa
- 11:06and carrying them as indentured servants back to places
- 11:10like Saudi Arabia.
- 11:11Don't their lives matter?
- 11:12Yeah, no, they don't.
- 11:13Because they're not because blacks doing black things, bad things
- 11:17to blacks, Africans doing bad things to Africans,
- 11:20Muslims doing bad.
- 11:21No, no, no, they're not white.
- 11:22They don't operate the same way.
- 11:24We're more worried about what America did 150 years ago
- 11:28than we are what Islam or China is doing today.
- 11:30And that's the great hypocrisy.
- 11:32Yep.
- 11:33It's not called out enough.
- 11:34We've got so much more to come out.
- 11:35We've got to take a really quick break.
- 11:36We're with Dr. Duke Pesta.
- 11:38More on World View Matters in a minute.
- 11:40Today's show is brought to you by Harbinger's Daily.
- 11:43World news biblically understood.
- 11:46Stay informed at Harbinger's Daily.com.
- 11:58All right, guys.
- 11:58Dr. Duke Pesta is my guest today.
- 12:00And we're talking about DEI diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- 12:05And one quote from Monarchal.
- 12:06This is a significant cultural and ideological revolution.
- 12:11One that has been accomplished with almost no debate
- 12:15or operationalization of terminology.
- 12:21I don't even know how to save that little one.
- 12:22I don't understand what it means.
- 12:23But Duke, yeah, no debate on this.
- 12:25This has been in the system before we are even aware of this.
- 12:29It would you explain it a minute ago.
- 12:31But it's not just education.
- 12:33I just want to point out a couple of things.
- 12:35The corporate level here.
- 12:37Practically, every fortune 100 company
- 12:40has adopted diversity, equity, and inclusion programming.
- 12:44And one expert said DEI is the vehicle to move communism
- 12:49into the corporate world.
- 12:51What do you think about that?
- 12:52Yeah, I mean, communism is the latest step.
- 12:55I think it's radical socialism first.
- 12:57But keep in mind, it was Mark's himself
- 12:58who said democracy is the first step to socialism.
- 13:03And socialism then is the first step to communism.
- 13:06So Mark's understood, you mentioned history before the break.
- 13:10If the American people understood
- 13:12we were a constitutional republic with checks and balances,
- 13:16if they understood why the electoral college mattered,
- 13:19if they understood why in America,
- 13:22we have free markets and opportunity.
- 13:24Why we have equality, not equity.
- 13:27That would help immensely.
- 13:28But 99% of my university kids and a large majority
- 13:32of Americans think we're a democracy.
- 13:34And remember what Mark said?
- 13:36Democracy is not about protecting the rights of minorities.
- 13:40Ironic, isn't it?
- 13:41That the left turned us into a democracy
- 13:44because it's democracies that do not protect
- 13:48the rights of minorities.
- 13:49They protect the majority.
- 13:51So the mob rule.
- 13:52And so what is the left wants?
- 13:54They want the very opposite of what they claim.
- 13:56They want to do away with the rights of minorities.
- 14:00It's getting rid of the electoral college, for instance.
- 14:02And what they want is a simple mob
- 14:05because mobs will go down the road.
- 14:07That Mark's understood this.
- 14:08You could take a constitutional republic,
- 14:10turn it into a democracy.
- 14:12It's going to be very easy to move it to a socialist state.
- 14:14And you mentioned communism.
- 14:16And as Mark's pointed out, socialism is not the end of anything.
- 14:20It is a final step toward communism.
- 14:23Yep, and we're beginning to understand that now.
- 14:25I think we're learning it the hard way too
- 14:27by seeing what's happening in our culture.
- 14:30But let's go back to something that I found to be very interesting.
- 14:33How does this Dr. Duke Pesta does this tie in at all
- 14:37to our history in the 1960s with affirmative action,
- 14:42equal employment legislation, the Equal Pay Act,
- 14:45Civil Rights Act of 1964, and then in 1967,
- 14:48we had the Age Discrimination Employment Act.
- 14:52We were just talking about the 2000s in 2015,
- 14:55how it got into the university system.
- 14:56But how did any of these tie in to DEI?
- 15:00Well, we should be really praising America
- 15:03for the last 60 years, not condemning it.
- 15:06Because the Civil Rights Movement put an end to segregation,
- 15:09which was the last holdover of slavery.
- 15:12With the end of segregation separate but equal,
- 15:15you now have a country that is no longer a systemically racist.
- 15:19You could make an argument that as long as segregation
- 15:22was the law, it was impossible to have equality.
- 15:25Well, that's been gone for 60 years.
- 15:27And so rather than see that progress over 60 years,
- 15:30the progressive left comes along and what do they want?
- 15:33They're bringing back segregation.
- 15:35We now have segregated graduations at colleges, right?
- 15:39Where blacks and Hispanics and the LGBTQ
- 15:43get their Native Americans are segregated.
- 15:45We're building campus buildings, Dave,
- 15:47that our badorbs where only minorities will live.
- 15:51So Civil Rights going backwards.
- 15:54Yeah, the Civil Rights Movement ended segregation.
- 15:57The progressive left under the characterization of DEI
- 16:00are bringing it back.
- 16:02Go back to what I said, what Abraham X Kendi said, right?
- 16:06That the only solution in the future is racism.
- 16:09The people who were racist before must pay the price
- 16:12by being treated, by this new rising class of people,
- 16:17basically let's hate white people
- 16:20and enshrine that in law, right?
- 16:24That to be white is to somehow be intrinsically evil.
- 16:29This is really hard to understand
- 16:31because it seems like they're, like I think you said it,
- 16:34they're discriminating, but it's all under the name of it.
- 16:38And the discrimination, right?
- 16:40Which is of course a lie, right?
- 16:41Fighting fire with fire burns down everybody's house.
- 16:44It doesn't fix anything.
- 16:46This is revenge.
- 16:49This is an ingest interpretation of history,
- 16:52taking the freest country in the history of the world
- 16:54and arguing it's the only racist country in the world.
- 16:57So you turn it to a socialist country
- 17:00and the irony, why are people coming to the huge number
- 17:03of people who are fleeing here
- 17:05and crossing the borders illegally?
- 17:07They're running away from socialist governments.
- 17:09And so what is our answer to all of this?
- 17:12Socialism discriminates.
- 17:14Let's fix the problem by trashing freedom
- 17:18and opportunity and protections under the law
- 17:20and the protection of minority voices.
- 17:22Let's get rid of all that to install socialism.
- 17:25And this is the problem.
- 17:26Many of the people who are marching behind Black Lives Matter
- 17:30and DEI programs do not realize what this is
- 17:34because for 50, 60 years we've not taught them.
- 17:36This could only happen through ignorance
- 17:39and our public schools are propagating
- 17:41for generations now cultural and historical ignorance.
- 17:45And so you got the under, where's it coming from Dave?
- 17:48The under 40s, the under 30s,
- 17:50overwhelmingly support socialist initiatives
- 17:53because they don't know any better.
- 17:54What was the percentage that we're supporting
- 17:56Bernie Sanders when he was running
- 17:58well over 60% of, was it millennials
- 18:01or just people under 30?
- 18:02I saw a statistic that said 74% of the college age group
- 18:07between 18 to about 25, almost three out of four of them
- 18:10would immediately transform this country
- 18:13into a socialist state if they could do so.
- 18:15No questions asked.
- 18:16So isn't it simple to conclude that if they knew
- 18:19the true history of socialism and dictatorships
- 18:23around the world, they would not support it?
- 18:26I explained it to my college kids.
- 18:27I did just last Thursday when I had class last.
- 18:30I said this, look, if you actually believe
- 18:34that any organization or country or individual
- 18:38who was not completely according to our sensibilities,
- 18:43woke, they must be canceled.
- 18:45And my kids get it.
- 18:46We got to cancel the flag.
- 18:47We got to cancel the Constitution,
- 18:50the founding fathers have to have their names pulled out.
- 18:52Anybody who fought for the Confederacy
- 18:54has to be a race.
- 18:55Okay, fine, I say I want consistency.
- 18:58If you believe that, then the first thing
- 19:01you have to get rid of is socialism.
- 19:03We're talking what, 400, 500 million dead
- 19:05in the last 200 years, 150 years.
- 19:07So if you're going to play the game
- 19:09and I tell them this, I don't want to cancel anybody
- 19:12myself.
- 19:13But if you want to cancel so-called racist people
- 19:16from the past and colonialist people
- 19:19and people who've done horrible things, genocides,
- 19:22well, before you touch Western culture,
- 19:24you got to get rid of socialism.
- 19:26And my kids are smart enough to realize.
- 19:29The professors are canceling groups.
- 19:33And the solution that the professors give them
- 19:35is socialism.
- 19:36And there's where I point out the lie.
- 19:38If you got to cancel, you got to cancel everything
- 19:41and that starts with socialism.
- 19:42But we're forgiving left-wing dictators.
- 19:45We're overlooking the horrors and the genocides
- 19:48of socialism.
- 19:49And that shows you.
- 19:50And even my kids who are badly undereducated,
- 19:53they can see the innate unfairness of this.
- 19:56But I don't know that it's going to do much
- 19:57to change the culture in the long run.
- 20:00Brainwashing is to kind of a word, I think,
- 20:02to use what's been happening with public education.
- 20:05And you know that.
- 20:06You talk about that all the time.
- 20:07Wasn't it somebody in the Obama administration
- 20:10was praising Mao?
- 20:13Well, don't forget.
- 20:14Wasn't that just like 10 years ago, it's not even.
- 20:16And Obama himself had a life-size portrait
- 20:20of Che Guevara in his Chicago offices.
- 20:23Now, Che was a murderer.
- 20:25Che had a vendetta against black and gay Cubans.
- 20:30And you don't hear that part of the story?
- 20:31No, no, no, no.
- 20:32He was a murderer.
- 20:33He created the killing fields of the Castro brothers.
- 20:37But because he was a doctor, Che,
- 20:39and he was killing in the name of progressive socialism.
- 20:44And so he's a hero.
- 20:45You can wear his t-shirts.
- 20:48And no one's going to care.
- 20:49But try showing up with a picture
- 20:52of Thomas Jefferson on your shirt.
- 20:55At a typical university, you're going to be called out for it.
- 20:58Or Donald Trump.
- 20:59But we won't go there.
- 21:01But yeah, that makes you make a very good point.
- 21:03I see kids with Che Guevara shirt.
- 21:05They don't even know who he is and what he stood for.
- 21:07And let's get back to the corporate level here.
- 21:10When we talk about DEI, Walmart.
- 21:13I mean, they're not alone.
- 21:15But they're ones that are going along with this.
- 21:17They are convinced America has a problem with systemic racism.
- 21:21So on Walmart's own website, they have a center for racial equity.
- 21:28It describes, quote, part of Walmart's larger efforts
- 21:31to address drivers of systemic racism and accelerate change.
- 21:36They work with other nonprofits.
- 21:38They have new positions created now developed.
- 21:41So we know marching orders have been given.
- 21:43Walmart Foundation has committed Duke $100 million over five years.
- 21:49And the center has invested $58 million to complement
- 21:54and extend the societal impact of Walmart's business initiatives
- 22:00to advance racial equity.
- 22:03So we're talking about DEI.
- 22:05This is just one example, one major corporation.
- 22:07And here's why they do it.
- 22:08Take Bud Light as another example.
- 22:10That's probably a more famous example.
- 22:13Bud Light put this mincing little puppet, right?
- 22:19Dylan McMilvaney on the cans.
- 22:22Now you and I, you're very kind.
- 22:23And everybody knows that Dylan Mulvaney does not drink Bud Light.
- 22:28In fact, in the commercial, they shot with him.
- 22:30He takes a sip and he's almost compare it himself.
- 22:34And Heiser Bush is not stupid, neither is Walmart.
- 22:36They realize that if you don't cater to the radical racists
- 22:41in this country, the progressive left,
- 22:43you could be canceled.
- 22:44You could be in trouble.
- 22:45Or they could be sued.
- 22:46Or they could be sued.
- 22:47And they don't fear the right.
- 22:48They don't fear middle America with Black Lives Matter
- 22:53and that global shakedown that that was.
- 22:57And again, what, 70, 80 million of that money
- 22:59is missing, completely absconded away
- 23:01by the people who ran it.
- 23:03It was a scam.
- 23:04And they have million dollar homes.
- 23:05And they have how fences around their homes.
- 23:08The people who started that movement.
- 23:10So my point to you is, is that all the big companies
- 23:13have figured out that the powers that be
- 23:17are on the side of equity.
- 23:19And so they can't really lose.
- 23:21The one mistake, well, see, notice what Walmart did.
- 23:25They behind the scenes, this is what they're doing.
- 23:27They're feeding all this money
- 23:28to these racial segregationists.
- 23:30But they don't have satanic trans clothing in their schools.
- 23:35In their stores.
- 23:36Target does.
- 23:37And so this is the difference.
- 23:39Walmart's just been smarter about it.
- 23:41The minute it bleeds into your product line,
- 23:44then we Americans have the only option we have,
- 23:48which is to boycott.
- 23:49And look at the lesson that Anheuser Bush.
- 23:53Do you think they learned though?
- 23:54I think, well, I think they did.
- 23:56I think if they could do it over, they wouldn't.
- 23:58Because you can do it, Walmart does.
- 23:59You hand out millions and millions of dollars
- 24:02to race grifters.
- 24:03They're not asking you for anything else.
- 24:05It's never about the cause.
- 24:06It's about their pockets.
- 24:07You mentioned Sharpton and Jackson from the 90s.
- 24:11Notice what they did.
- 24:12When you gave them payouts for the rainbow coalition,
- 24:16they stopped harassing you.
- 24:17So Walmart, and many people, I remember, you remember,
- 24:2220 years ago, Walmart was the great enemy.
- 24:24Walmart was this conservative Arkansas
- 24:26who was shutting off moms and pops and stuff.
- 24:29Now they're one of the golden boys.
- 24:31They're one of the globalists, right?
- 24:33And so the difference between Walmart and Target here,
- 24:37same initiatives, same stupid leftism,
- 24:40but Walmart hides it, at least doesn't foreground it.
- 24:43And people think they're not Target
- 24:44when they're exactly the same as Target.
- 24:46Yeah.
- 24:47Back to the university level real quick,
- 24:48we've just got two or three minutes left here.
- 24:51I just want to mention what they did over at Texas A&M
- 24:53that they were looking into the agenda here.
- 24:56And it says starting in the 90s,
- 24:59the university's leadership went all in
- 25:02for these types of programs that would advance social justice
- 25:06causes, but the latest climate report
- 25:09found that students now feel less comfortable on campus,
- 25:14less at home, and this was at Texas A&M,
- 25:16efforts to cultivate a more welcoming climate backfire.
- 25:21This is the DEI in fusion.
- 25:23And so according to students,
- 25:25well, it seems like they're more restricted.
- 25:27And so they're realizing this has been about imposing
- 25:30leftist ideologies.
- 25:31I don't think that's necessarily true.
- 25:33I think what's happened is you hire at Michigan,
- 25:36they have over 90 DEI officers, 90.
- 25:39Think about that.
- 25:40You hire all these DEI people
- 25:42and the only way they keep their jobs
- 25:44if they find racism.
- 25:46If there is no, if you've eradicated racism,
- 25:48they have no platform of change.
- 25:50So you hire one of them and one of them
- 25:52becomes three and five and 10 and 100.
- 25:54And so they got to keep finding it.
- 25:56So when you say, people, kids are becoming a woke,
- 26:00I don't think so.
- 26:01We're teaching kids, particularly minority kids,
- 26:04that they're always discriminated against.
- 26:06So they're always going to see more of it,
- 26:08which means you got to hire more of them
- 26:10and spend another hundred million dollars.
- 26:12They're also creating racism where there is not.
- 26:16They're looking under rocks trying to find it,
- 26:18but they're also giving the idea
- 26:20that it's more prevalent than it even is.
- 26:22You have to read Shakespeare in your English class,
- 26:24that's white supremacy.
- 26:26You have to prove your show your work in math.
- 26:28That's racism.
- 26:29Yeah, they're creating everything is racism now.
- 26:33Really quick, I'll end with this quote
- 26:35and get Duke's quick take on this
- 26:36because we're running out of time.
- 26:38Heather McDonald, she's at the College Fix Advisory Board.
- 26:42She spoke to this and she said,
- 26:43a university's task is the pursuit of truth.
- 26:47The DEI bureaucracy is founded on a lie,
- 26:50a lie which teaches students to think of themselves
- 26:52as victims to see racism or none exists.
- 26:56It creates through racial preferences,
- 26:58the very divisions and discomforts
- 27:00that it purports to solve in an endless vicious cycle.
- 27:05That's kind of what you were describing just a minute ago.
- 27:07Yeah, DEI is the big lie that allows all the small lies
- 27:12that if you tell a joke you're a racist,
- 27:14that if you ask somebody of a different race
- 27:17about their haircut, you're racist,
- 27:19that if you actually believe that math is subject objective,
- 27:24you're a racist.
- 27:25So the big lie, as with socialism,
- 27:28the big lie of socialism always enables a thousand small lies.
- 27:33Wish we had more time.
- 27:34There's so much, this is,
- 27:35it's not just a specific thing we're talking about.
- 27:38This is a whole movement and agenda and ideology.
- 27:40Dr. Duke, thank you for coming on World View Matters
- 27:43today, friends.
- 27:44I wish we had a lot more time to talk about this,
- 27:46but we'll pick this up, we'll have Duke back another time.
- 27:49We want to encourage you to subscribe
- 27:51to our weekly updates, worldviewmatters.tv.
