A chilling double homicide in Brookwood, Alabama, has rocked the community, claiming the lives of 22-year-old University of Alabama student Jazmine Bates and 31-year-old Jose Alvarez-Duenas, who was house- and dog-sitting. Authorities say the victims, known to each other through the hospitality industry, were found dead during a welfare check after the homeowner couldn’t reach Alvarez-Duenas and noticed suspicious activity.
