Dimension X - "Veldt" (1951)
Dimension X presents “Veldt,” episode 43, originally broadcast on NBC on August 9, 1951. This sustaining-program adaptation of Ray Bradbury’s story was written for radio by Ernest Kinoy and directed by Fred Weihe.
In a highly automated Happy Life Home, George and Lydia Hadley grow uneasy about their children’s thought-responsive nursery, which keeps creating an alarmingly vivid African veldt. Featuring Lesley Woods and Bill Quinn as the troubled parents, this Bradbury suspense tale considers what happens when a family allows technology to meet every need.
