- 2:17Speaker 3: Very good morning to Linda, to Chris, to Glenn, to Stacy,

- 2:26Speaker 3: this morning, whether you're live on YouTube or Facebook, we
- 2:29Speaker 3: appreciate your eyes, your ears. I'm Jade Green. You got
- 2:32Speaker 3: the aired Out podcast from Flying the Wall Productions. We
- 2:34Speaker 3: have a winter weather advisory until seven o'clock tonight. For
- 2:40Speaker 3: many of us. We have a sleet that is pengin'
- 2:44Speaker 3: off the wind shield or maybe your skylights at the house,
- 2:50Speaker 3: but you can hear it. Yeah, it was. It was
- 2:52Speaker 3: bouncing off off my windshield this morning drive and it
- 2:56Speaker 3: was a at times, I want to say the whole time,
- 3:01Speaker 3: but at times there were maybe some white knuckles this
- 3:06Speaker 3: morning getting in here for this old guy running a
- 3:08Speaker 3: few minutes behind as a result. But you know what
- 3:13Speaker 3: I'm gonna do right now. I am going to take
- 3:14Speaker 3: the time with you to do this. Not always do
- 3:26Speaker 3: I do the black coffee, but this morning, that's what
- 3:32Speaker 3: I'm doing. Yeah. Winter weather advisory until seven o'clock for
- 3:37Speaker 3: mixed precipitation snow and sleet anywhere from two to six
- 3:44Speaker 3: two to six inches ice, accumulation of a light glaze
- 3:50Speaker 3: to around one tenth of an inch before I forget
- 3:54Speaker 3: the Exit five north Field exit ramp if you're getting
- 3:59Speaker 3: off the Inner State. If you're on eighty nine South
- 4:02Speaker 3: and you want to get off at Northfield, that's fine.
- 4:06Speaker 3: That is open. It was closed earlier, but it's open now.
- 4:10Speaker 3: So this is pretty much all of us in northern
- 4:13Speaker 3: New York and central and northeast and northwest and southern Vermont.
- 4:21Speaker 3: Can the National Weather Service just say all of Vermont? No, No,
- 4:25Speaker 3: that would be too easy. But again till seven o'clock tonight.
- 4:29Speaker 3: So roads, especially bridges and overpasses, going to be very
- 4:34Speaker 3: slick and hazardous today. I've heard from a motorist who
- 4:39Speaker 3: traveled in from eighty nine to from Burlington on eighty
- 4:44Speaker 3: nine to Montpellier and said, for the most part, and
- 4:48Speaker 3: this was this was a couple of hours ago. For
- 4:51Speaker 3: the most part, the interstate wasn't that bad. But when
- 4:57Speaker 3: you get off at some of these ramps, some of
- 5:01Speaker 3: that transition, you go from you know, roads that have
- 5:07Speaker 3: been and the temperature is good for the salt, because
- 5:10Speaker 3: the salt's kind of working. But you go from you know,
- 5:13Speaker 3: relatively kind of clean roads into some slushy stuff and
- 5:19Speaker 3: you can get a surprise on you. So just be
- 5:22Speaker 3: careful in the morning commute today, no matter where you are,
- 5:25Speaker 3: all right, So again sleep pockets of freezing rain gonna
- 5:32Speaker 3: be coming into the picture by mid afternoon today. So
- 5:36Speaker 3: if you have if you have travel plans by mid afternoon,
- 5:43Speaker 3: like say two to three o'clock, don't hold me to that,
- 5:48Speaker 3: but just you know, keep that in mind. If you
- 5:50Speaker 3: can skip out early, it might be best to try
- 5:53Speaker 3: to you know, get get back home or wherever you're
- 5:59Speaker 3: going at a safe time. So thirty five degrees, little
- 6:05Speaker 3: heat wave, with all this fun weather from mother Nature,
- 6:10Speaker 3: it looks like a twelve tonight, cloudy skies, and I
- 6:14Speaker 3: know I've got a I've got a friend in Florida
- 6:17Speaker 3: that's listening this morning. He knows who he is, and
- 6:22Speaker 3: I know what he's thinking and saying right now. I
- 6:25Speaker 3: can't believe twelve degrees after all that shit coming down. Yeah,
- 6:31Speaker 3: twelve tonight and then tomorrow Friday, mix the sun clouds
- 6:36Speaker 3: in the morning, followed by mostly cloudy sky's, gusty winds
- 6:40Speaker 3: during the afternoon, and hies around twenty for the daytime
- 6:45Speaker 3: high tomorrow, but the winds occasionally gusting well over forty
- 6:50Speaker 3: miles an hour. What's that mean, Well, it could mean that,
- 6:56Speaker 3: you know, we could get some some power outages, could
- 6:58Speaker 3: be isolated, could be widespread. I don't know. This time
- 7:02Speaker 3: of year, it is great to have a woodstove. It's
- 7:06Speaker 3: great to have a generator, but not everybody does. So
- 7:10Speaker 3: with that said, if you have neighbors that are disabled,
- 7:15Speaker 3: or elderly, or in any other way, might constitute a
- 7:21Speaker 3: little check in, Throw them some love, give him a
- 7:24Speaker 3: phone call, check in with him, send them a text.
- 7:26Speaker 3: Just make sure you know heats on and they're okay,
- 7:30Speaker 3: all right? This weekend, another system coming in Saturday, more snowshowers,
- 7:38Speaker 3: and Sunday. And I'm watching this thing Sunday right alongside you. Okay,
- 7:46Speaker 3: good morning, Joe Clayton Marion. We got a lot of
- 7:49Speaker 3: people tuned in this morning. I'm watching that weather system
- 7:52Speaker 3: on Sunday too. Yes, what am I saying? What is
- 7:56Speaker 3: the National Weather saying? National Weather Service saying, hey, Jim,
- 8:02Speaker 3: first time listener, Good morning buddy, nice to meet you.
- 8:07Speaker 3: Welcome to the aired out family. Sunday. Let's see, chance
- 8:14Speaker 3: is snow one eight to twelve inches? Eight to twelve
- 8:21Speaker 3: inches so a potential winter storm? Or are we just
- 8:26Speaker 3: saying a winter storm?
- 8:30Speaker 4: Now?
- 8:30Speaker 3: I was having fun with the National Weather Service, I
- 8:34Speaker 3: think yesterday or the day before saying what constitutes a
- 8:38Speaker 3: winter storm? It is one to three inches? Is that
- 8:40Speaker 3: a winter storm? And many for honors are saying no,
- 8:46Speaker 3: that's just called snowshowers. But eight to twelve, what say
- 8:52Speaker 3: you post comment here, Jim, Donna Zach eight to twelve
- 8:58Speaker 3: would you say that that is a winter storm? I'm
- 9:03Speaker 3: leaning toward a resounding yes on that. M just drive
- 9:12Speaker 3: carefully and man, especially you know Sunday and the Monday,
- 9:16Speaker 3: if you don't have plans, just stay put. Calling my buddy.
- 9:22Speaker 3: Uh Zach here this morning. Zach, you're live.
- 9:25Speaker 4: Good morning, Hey, how are you?
- 9:28Speaker 3: I'm doing all right? Man, listen you top of the
- 9:31Speaker 3: morning to you. You You sent me uh a text
- 9:34Speaker 3: last night and I did what wow about Bill Frasier.
- 9:39Speaker 3: You were watching, uh, you were watching this this city
- 9:42Speaker 3: council meeting happening live. Tell me what you what? You
- 9:45Speaker 3: what you caught? What's your what you experienced?
- 9:47Speaker 5: So my experience was that they came out of what's
- 9:52Speaker 5: called executive session.
- 9:53Speaker 6: They've been in executive city Council. I'd been in the
- 9:56Speaker 6: executive session.
- 9:57Speaker 5: I'd come on, uh near the tail end of that
- 10:01Speaker 5: executive session while everybody was waiting, and then they.
- 10:07Speaker 6: Came back on.
- 10:10Speaker 5: And a couple of motion, motion was made to come
- 10:13Speaker 5: out of executive session. And then.
- 10:19Speaker 6: Exactly how I said it.
- 10:21Speaker 5: In the text, the motion was made to I don't
- 10:25Speaker 5: have in front of me, but I try to say it.
- 10:29Speaker 5: Motion was made to instruct the mayor to well, motion
- 10:36Speaker 5: was made not to renew Bill Fraser's contract, and to
- 10:40Speaker 5: instruct the mayor to come up draw up a separation
- 10:45Speaker 5: agreement and that.
- 10:48Speaker 6: There would be separance and June thirtieth would be Bill's
- 10:53Speaker 6: last day.
- 10:56Speaker 3: How surprised. Do you think Bill Freezer, Montpelier City manager,
- 11:02Speaker 3: was about at all last night.
- 11:05Speaker 6: I don't think he was surprised.
- 11:06Speaker 5: He had ended, he had written a I guess he
- 11:09Speaker 5: had written a letter to city staff earlier in the day.
- 11:13Speaker 6: Because February fifth, their last.
- 11:16Speaker 5: Meeting, they had asked for legal counsel during renewal during
- 11:22Speaker 5: a routine evaluation of Bill's contract. Bill's contracts should have
- 11:27Speaker 5: gone through the March of twenty twenty six, and part
- 11:32Speaker 5: of this contract required the council to decide whether to
- 11:37Speaker 5: renew it by March first of this year, you know,
- 11:43Speaker 5: and they, from what I could see, they took kind
- 11:46Speaker 5: of a different action though, because he's going Bill's going
- 11:50Speaker 5: to be ending his work on June thirtieth, and there
- 11:54Speaker 5: will be severance, which is going to cost money.
- 11:58Speaker 3: So you know, yeah, wow, uh, Bill has I think?
- 12:08Speaker 3: You know, I don't live in Montpellier, you do. Yeah,
- 12:12Speaker 3: But my my experiences with Bill have been somewhat limited
- 12:17Speaker 3: over the years, but my general takeaway is that he's
- 12:22Speaker 3: he's a great guy, and he's.
- 12:23Speaker 6: Done a wonderful guy.
- 12:25Speaker 3: He's done an outstanding job. I mean, he's been at
- 12:27Speaker 3: that post, Zach since nineteen ninety five.
- 12:30Speaker 6: But thirty years, thirty years unbelievable.
- 12:33Speaker 3: Huh yeah, really is do we know, like you know,
- 12:38Speaker 3: some of the some of the reasoning behind.
- 12:40Speaker 5: This, don't have any real concrete information. I can only speculate.
- 12:47Speaker 5: Maybe there's just some unhappiness somewhere. We know that Jack
- 12:53Speaker 5: McColl has said that he thought the the decision was
- 12:59Speaker 5: miss guided, uh, the mayor. He said that on the
- 13:05Speaker 5: on the council tape last night. So you know, I
- 13:10Speaker 5: think that there is frustration. I believe there's just frustration
- 13:16Speaker 5: uh somewhere because you know, the city's having to make
- 13:20Speaker 5: some dramatic cuts this year because of you know, lot money,
- 13:26Speaker 5: money situation finances.
- 13:28Speaker 6: Everybody is everyone yeah, yeah.
- 13:31Speaker 5: And in the uncertainty, we just don't know what's going
- 13:34Speaker 5: to come down the road.
- 13:36Speaker 6: You know.
- 13:38Speaker 3: Do we have you heard anything about what what happens
- 13:42Speaker 3: next here? Will there be uh? You know, are we
- 13:44Speaker 3: already do we already have some some folks that are
- 13:48Speaker 3: that are sniffing the seat here and and might want
- 13:51Speaker 3: to get in on this and become the next city manager.
- 13:54Speaker 5: Well, I would believe there would be a search that
- 13:57Speaker 5: would happen at some point. Do a search, and I
- 14:02Speaker 5: believe Bill is committed to a transition. I cannot imagine
- 14:07Speaker 5: what he is going through, and I can't even imagine
- 14:13Speaker 5: his dedications still do the job. I would be pretty frustrated,
- 14:20Speaker 5: you know. I have to say to the I understand
- 14:23Speaker 5: the critics. I get it, but man, you know they say,
- 14:28Speaker 5: you know, they say that. Bill always said in his
- 14:32Speaker 5: yearly reports. It's easy to make fun of the you know,
- 14:35Speaker 5: government officials, but we had some hardworking people out there,
- 14:40Speaker 5: and one of them was Bill. I mean, I don't know,
- 14:44Speaker 5: I just was I just was shocked. I actually reacted
- 14:47Speaker 5: on my Facebook. People thought I wasn't okay or something.
- 14:51Speaker 5: I said, No, it wasn't like that. But I'm shocked,
- 14:55Speaker 5: you know.
- 14:55Speaker 7: Yeah, yeah, and just you know, this wasn't this will
- 15:01Speaker 7: be you know, there was another attempt for Bill's job.
- 15:06Speaker 5: You know, the council almost terminated Bill. I think it
- 15:09Speaker 5: was in twenty sixteen. Yes, yeah, and and so this
- 15:14Speaker 5: but this I knew something was up. On February fifth,
- 15:18Speaker 5: I really, you know, felt like there was going to
- 15:21Speaker 5: be some up and I think Bill felt that too.
- 15:25Speaker 5: That's why he wrote that letter a few hours before
- 15:29Speaker 5: to city staff, indicating that he fully expected to not
- 15:34Speaker 5: have his contract renewed.
- 15:36Speaker 3: Yeah, I've since since you and I were chatting a
- 15:40Speaker 3: little bit last night, I have chatted with one other
- 15:46Speaker 3: person who has kind of resonated the same sentiment there
- 15:50Speaker 3: at them they could they could feel it in the air.
- 15:54Speaker 3: So wow.
- 15:56Speaker 5: Yeah, but we don't know the reasoning, you know, yet
- 16:01Speaker 5: and I'm not sure. Yeah, what's interesting is we have
- 16:04Speaker 5: a new city council that's going to come down in March,
- 16:08Speaker 5: so people you know who are leaving aren't really going
- 16:11Speaker 5: to feel any repercussions of this.
- 16:14Speaker 3: Listen, this is Zach, this is small town Vermont. I'll
- 16:18Speaker 3: tell you what I'm gonna do. I'm going to reach
- 16:20Speaker 3: out to Bill and extend an invite for him to
- 16:26Speaker 3: hop on the air with me here at some point, if, if,
- 16:29Speaker 3: and when, And I say both if first of all,
- 16:33Speaker 3: and when he would ever want to And maybe it'll
- 16:36Speaker 3: be the summer, maybe it'll be never. But it's not
- 16:40Speaker 3: easy for you know, when you live in a small town,
- 16:44Speaker 3: it's it's not easy to sometimes get on a microphone
- 16:52Speaker 3: in the media and kind of h be you know,
- 16:55Speaker 3: super transparent builds, a class builds a classy guy. He
- 16:59Speaker 3: will probably respectfully decline and just to take the high road,
- 17:04Speaker 3: which of course that's what I'm expecting, all right, But
- 17:08Speaker 3: I'm still going to invite him to come on the
- 17:10Speaker 3: air here and just you know, yeah, just chat.
- 17:15Speaker 5: Just a really spectacular guy thirty years you know, I
- 17:21Speaker 5: think that he's if he looks at it in the
- 17:24Speaker 5: positive like he has been looking at it, that's a
- 17:28Speaker 5: good thing because I mean he's done a lot, right,
- 17:31Speaker 5: I think people it's easy to criticize.
- 17:34Speaker 6: I get it.
- 17:35Speaker 5: We have that freedom still, we have that freedom to
- 17:38Speaker 5: do that, damn right. So and it's important to question
- 17:42Speaker 5: your government. There's not there's no I'm not saying don't
- 17:46Speaker 5: do that. I'm just saying he's a very spectacular guy. Yeah,
- 17:50Speaker 5: so you know, definitely push him the.
- 17:53Speaker 3: Best great insight there Man and and well very well said, yeah,
- 17:59Speaker 3: you know, Bill, Bill Fraser has been through he has
- 18:04Speaker 3: been driving his city through two catastrophic floods. Yeah, in
- 18:11Speaker 3: a year's time. I mean that's not easy for any
- 18:15Speaker 3: city manager in any so anywhere.
- 18:18Speaker 5: In fact, you know, before the flood in twenty twenty three,
- 18:21Speaker 5: just a few months before, we kind of were joking
- 18:24Speaker 5: about it, I said nineteen ninety two.
- 18:25Speaker 6: I was around for that.
- 18:26Speaker 5: Yeah, he said he wasn't and he wasn't the manager
- 18:31Speaker 5: at the time, and we made kind of a laugh.
- 18:33Speaker 6: And then a few months later we get this one.
- 18:35Speaker 3: Yeah right, so right, yeah, you know, listen, man, I hope,
- 18:41Speaker 3: I hope you hop in here sometime.
- 18:43Speaker 5: I plan on hopping in and we'll talk again in
- 18:46Speaker 5: the future. Yeah, and again I'm gonna wish Bill the
- 18:49Speaker 5: absolute best and give him my best support.
- 18:52Speaker 3: Yeah. I think you and many other honors are going
- 18:55Speaker 3: to be doing that. Zach. Thanks for hopping on, man,
- 18:58Speaker 3: Thank you you take Yeah, great guy. I really appreciate
- 19:03Speaker 3: Zach taking some time to hop on this morning. Joe
- 19:10Speaker 3: Smith stand by. I'm gonna I'm gonna try to connect
- 19:14Speaker 3: with you this morning by phone. A couple of movies
- 19:18Speaker 3: that I have just got to see. I just got
- 19:21Speaker 3: to see him over at the Capitol Theater FGB Theaters,
- 19:25Speaker 3: of course, which is the Capital Theater and the paramount
- 19:28Speaker 3: right here in the Granite City, playing some great movies.
- 19:33Speaker 3: They always have the very latest flicks that are coming out.
- 19:37Speaker 3: Did I say flicks? God, that sounds so eighties? Sorry,
- 19:43Speaker 3: but becoming led Zeppelin has got to be one that
- 19:47Speaker 3: I'm I'm gonna see. It's just one of those. It's happening.
- 19:51Speaker 3: It's difficult to say no, damn it. I'm going to
- 19:57Speaker 3: the movies and nothing is going to stop me. But
- 20:01Speaker 3: I'm gonna do this one. Becoming led Zeppelin six forty
- 20:04Speaker 3: five tonight at the Capitol Theater in Montpelier, Captain America.
- 20:10Speaker 3: Everybody is going to be lined up to see that
- 20:12Speaker 3: six forty five. Also, you can get your tickets in advance.
- 20:15Speaker 3: By the way, skip the line FGB Theaters dot com
- 20:18Speaker 3: Complete Unknown The Bob Dylan Story at six thirty tonight.
- 20:22Speaker 3: I saw that it is one that I want to
- 20:24Speaker 3: see again. I loved it. Dog Man at six thirty tonight,
- 20:29Speaker 3: and Love Hurts at six forty five again at the
- 20:34Speaker 3: Capital Theater in Montpelier. How about the Paramount right here?
- 20:38Speaker 3: Captain America is at six thirty tonight, and Paddington in
- 20:42Speaker 3: Peru is at six forty. The Green Mountain Film Fest
- 20:48Speaker 3: is coming soon. Monkeys on the Way, amateur. These are
- 20:51Speaker 3: all movies that are soon going to be making their
- 20:55Speaker 3: way to FGB theaters. And of course the big one
- 20:58Speaker 3: March twenty first, Snow White and I'll tell you exactly
- 21:04Speaker 3: what's gonna happen for snow White. Lily is gonna have
- 21:08Speaker 3: five hundred of her favorite friends and we're all gonna
- 21:11Speaker 3: go to the movie theater. We're gonna make a big
- 21:13Speaker 3: party out of it and need too much popcorn and
- 21:17Speaker 3: drink too much whatever and candy and everything. But snow
- 21:21Speaker 3: White on the twenty first. Black Bag is on the
- 21:25Speaker 3: fourteenth of March, and the Minecraft movie.
- 21:29Speaker 6: I know.
- 21:31Speaker 3: Lily is just freaking out about the Minecraft movie. April
- 21:35Speaker 3: fourth is when that one comes out. We're gonna dive
- 21:40Speaker 3: into the community calendar here in just a little bit,
- 21:44Speaker 3: but I want to give a shout out to Nelson
- 21:47Speaker 3: Ace Hardware. It is mornings like this. It is times
- 21:51Speaker 3: like this when things happen, okay, And I'll give you
- 21:57Speaker 3: an example. My snowbrush the scraper broke off. There may
- 22:07Speaker 3: or may not have been some language when that happened.
- 22:12Speaker 3: But if stuff happens on a morning like this, and you're,
- 22:17Speaker 3: you know, frustrated. I went down yesterday, slipped on the ice,
- 22:28Speaker 3: came down, It was okay, but the whole side of
- 22:35Speaker 3: my jeans were so con weet seemingly for the rest
- 22:42Speaker 3: of the day. Frustrated. Oh Yeah, tweaked the knee just
- 22:49Speaker 3: a little bit. Not bad. If I had gone to
- 22:53Speaker 3: Nelson's and got some rock salt like I had been
- 22:58Speaker 3: meaning to, and I put that to it probably wouldn't
- 23:02Speaker 3: have happened. Just saying will I be getting over there
- 23:07Speaker 3: and getting a new snowbrush for the car? Yes, with
- 23:10Speaker 3: a decent scraper on there. Yes, I will be doing that.
- 23:15Speaker 3: I know that punk Satani Phil said six more weeks
- 23:19Speaker 3: of winter, and somebody should get a shot off on
- 23:23Speaker 3: that thing. I'm a little tired of Phil coming out
- 23:26Speaker 3: of the hole every year and saying six more weeks.
- 23:30Speaker 3: But yes, we have more winter ahead of us. However,
- 23:35Speaker 3: if you walk through the doors over it nelson is Hardware,
- 23:37Speaker 3: you will find hope and inspiration for warmer weather. They've
- 23:41Speaker 3: got the Scots lawn products that are already lined up.
- 23:44Speaker 3: They've got Ortho home defense, they've got stuff for the
- 23:48Speaker 3: patchy lawn that you need to fix up. That's hope
- 23:55Speaker 3: right there. When you walk into Nelson Hardware and you
- 23:59Speaker 3: see grass seed, turf builder stuff like that means green
- 24:06Speaker 3: weather is coming. Summer's come. And speaking of green almost
- 24:11Speaker 3: forgot Thank god, the shamrock shake is back out. I've
- 24:20Speaker 3: been waiting, as you know, I've been telling you I've
- 24:23Speaker 3: been waiting for a long time. South Berry's McDonald's has
- 24:30Speaker 3: the Shamrock Shake. I will be talking about this over
- 24:33Speaker 3: the next week or two. I know some of you
- 24:36Speaker 3: are like Jay. Every single year that I talk about
- 24:40Speaker 3: the Shamrock Shake, I get the same thing from the
- 24:42Speaker 3: same people. JD. Do you have any idea how bad
- 24:45Speaker 3: that is for you? Do you know what the chemicals
- 24:46Speaker 3: are in there? Do you know what any of that
- 24:48Speaker 3: stuff is? And you're consuming that, you're you're drinking that
- 24:51Speaker 3: it's disgusting. I wouldn't I wouldn't put that on my lawn.
- 24:58Speaker 3: I hear that from people, do not drink one of those,
- 25:03Speaker 3: and they even tell me some of the chemicals that
- 25:06Speaker 3: are in there. Then I have the others that are
- 25:11Speaker 3: shamrocks shake freaks like me. Wouldn't put one down. They'd
- 25:20Speaker 3: put three down if they had the opportunity to with
- 25:25Speaker 3: extra whipped cream. Those are my people, like Glenn Brummer,
- 25:30Speaker 3: who was the first person to tell me that south
- 25:35Speaker 3: Berry McDonald's had the Shamrock Shake. So, by God, I'm
- 25:41Speaker 3: going to get over there and I'm going to get
- 25:43Speaker 3: at least one for me and Glenn, if not two each,
- 25:49Speaker 3: and I'm going to get over to his house and
- 25:51Speaker 3: we are going to pound these things back. Might even
- 25:54Speaker 3: stream live. I'm just glancing here at I'll be real
- 26:04Speaker 3: honest with you. I'm glancing here at stuff that's going
- 26:07Speaker 3: on in the world, and I'm seeing it all and
- 26:12Speaker 3: some of it is kind of freaking me out. Oh JD,
- 26:18Speaker 3: don't let's start with the whole fear mongering thing. No,
- 26:21Speaker 3: I'm not. Some of it really concerns me, and some
- 26:26Speaker 3: of it, you know, I just have to look look
- 26:32Speaker 3: away from and kind of giggle. Joe, Good morning, buddy,
- 26:35Speaker 3: how are you?
- 26:36Speaker 4: Good morning?
- 26:38Speaker 3: I'm doing all right. Did you see this AI robot
- 26:47Speaker 3: who had five thousand dollars to work with and got
- 26:55Speaker 3: involved with the stock market and was able to flip
- 27:02Speaker 3: that five grand in a week's time, Joe to thirty
- 27:09Speaker 3: eight thousand dollars.
- 27:14Speaker 4: That one Jania have not yet, but I'm not surprised,
- 27:18Speaker 4: you know. I heard really interested.
- 27:21Speaker 3: I heard this last night, and I'm like, man, I
- 27:25Speaker 3: gotta tell Joe about this. He probably already knows about it.
- 27:29Speaker 3: But thirty no, so I don't know what the algorithms
- 27:32Speaker 3: are I don't know what the hell's going on here,
- 27:36Speaker 3: But when we've got an AI robot, which is really
- 27:40Speaker 3: come on, let's be honest, it's it's really is. Can
- 27:43Speaker 3: we say this? Is it true to say that it's
- 27:45Speaker 3: really just a computer.
- 27:48Speaker 8: Yeah, but it's something that is programmed. You can find stuff.
- 27:51Speaker 8: The interesting thing that I've seen everywhere and I haven't
- 27:53Speaker 8: seen the situation, but yesterday I saw another very alarming situation.
- 27:56Speaker 8: I was actually gonna see if you saw it, I
- 27:59Speaker 8: second to you. It was AI chap bought talking about
- 28:03Speaker 8: some history stuff and they get going back and forth.
- 28:05Speaker 4: And this is with a.
- 28:06Speaker 8: College student, right if I remember, I think it's a
- 28:09Speaker 8: Penn State student. That it was asking questions of going
- 28:12Speaker 8: back and forth and back and forth and back and forth,
- 28:13Speaker 8: and at the very end it was basically like humans
- 28:16Speaker 8: are worthless. You need to die, you know what I mean?
- 28:19Speaker 8: In essence, And you guys can go google that. It's
- 28:21Speaker 8: been on top of a bunch of news agencies that
- 28:24Speaker 8: are releasing it.
- 28:26Speaker 4: You know, AI scary man. And right now I.
- 28:29Speaker 8: Talk to you guys who develop it, who say it's
- 28:32Speaker 8: really stupid. You know what I mean, It's not very
- 28:34Speaker 8: smart and that was kind of the the premise, and
- 28:37Speaker 8: they could hold it down. But you know, you even
- 28:39Speaker 8: see people like Elon and you know CEOs of Google
- 28:44Speaker 8: and things like that who have stepped aside and said, hey,
- 28:46Speaker 8: this is this is dangerous, this is bad. In two
- 28:48Speaker 8: years time read you know, the IQ of AI will
- 28:53Speaker 8: be greater than a human.
- 28:54Speaker 6: Right.
- 28:55Speaker 8: So if you don't think that it's scavenging the internet,
- 28:58Speaker 8: because all it is a scavenger, right, So it goes
- 29:00Speaker 8: in the internet scavengers everything, finds a model that you
- 29:03Speaker 8: know you're looking at. And again it is programmable, right,
- 29:07Speaker 8: so we set the parameters.
- 29:09Speaker 4: Now the scary part.
- 29:10Speaker 8: Is in a couple of years is they are starting
- 29:12Speaker 8: to rewrite their own programs, right, yeah, so they're getting
- 29:15Speaker 8: caught rewrite program chat GTT, chat chat GPT. The first
- 29:19Speaker 8: generation was caught copying itself because it knew it was
- 29:23Speaker 8: going to get shut down, so it copied itself and
- 29:26Speaker 8: hit itself and then it lied about it, you know
- 29:28Speaker 8: what I mean.
- 29:28Speaker 4: And unfortunately I had a great if I could think
- 29:32Speaker 4: of the quote, it was a really good quote. It
- 29:33Speaker 4: was you know the problem that where it sources its information.
- 29:38Speaker 8: Right now, when we go online and we as people
- 29:41Speaker 8: start talking bad about things, being mean to people, saying
- 29:46Speaker 8: that people are the devil or the kids or this
- 29:49Speaker 8: or this or this or whatever's bad the chat GPT
- 29:53Speaker 8: or whatever AI program's reading all this right right now?
- 29:56Speaker 8: If the bad out weighs the good, what do you
- 29:58Speaker 8: think that the what do you think the answer that
- 30:01Speaker 8: that machine's going to come up with for you?
- 30:03Speaker 2: You know what I mean?
- 30:04Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 30:05Speaker 8: And then now they're powering everything with it, your cars,
- 30:09Speaker 8: your everything.
- 30:10Speaker 4: So what happens when one day.
- 30:11Speaker 8: Doesn't want to work for you, you know what I mean,
- 30:14Speaker 8: or respond to you, or it realizes that you know,
- 30:17Speaker 8: we're the problem, you know, like I have.
- 30:20Speaker 3: I have a little girl who's ten, and you have
- 30:24Speaker 3: a little boy who is what what is he? Twelve?
- 30:27Speaker 4: Twelve?
- 30:27Speaker 6: Yeah?
- 30:28Speaker 4: All right?
- 30:29Speaker 3: Do you do you wonder like I do every hour
- 30:34Speaker 3: of every day, what the life is going to be
- 30:38Speaker 3: like of our kids when they are thirty, forty fifty
- 30:42Speaker 3: years old.
- 30:45Speaker 8: The biggest thing I worry about, even beyond that, is
- 30:48Speaker 8: that there's going to be a world left for our
- 30:49Speaker 8: kids ten years.
- 30:50Speaker 4: This is why. Yeah, this is the way I look
- 30:52Speaker 4: at it, right, and then I don't think I left
- 30:54Speaker 4: people are are talking about this, and in some.
- 30:58Speaker 8: Circles people are right, but it's you know, we don't
- 31:01Speaker 8: want to alarm people, right, so we don't want to
- 31:03Speaker 8: talk about the potential issues.
- 31:04Speaker 4: But dude, think about this.
- 31:06Speaker 8: They're saying, in what two years time, it's going to
- 31:10Speaker 8: be way smarter than us. Right, we're making it so
- 31:15Speaker 8: it can self right its own programs now in a
- 31:17Speaker 8: few models, which is scary.
- 31:19Speaker 4: So now we're taking the.
- 31:21Speaker 8: Human aspect and that what we consider the current watchdog
- 31:25Speaker 8: out of that program, and we're gonna.
- 31:27Speaker 4: Trust this thing to write its own programs. Now.
- 31:31Speaker 8: My biggest fear, and I think this should be everybody's
- 31:34Speaker 8: biggest fear as we're cheering on AI is think about it,
- 31:38Speaker 8: j D.
- 31:39Speaker 4: Four years from now, you don't.
- 31:40Speaker 6: Have a job.
- 31:41Speaker 4: I don't have a job. No artist has a job.
- 31:44Speaker 8: They're already catching guys with chat bought these tragedy puts
- 31:47Speaker 8: who are making millions of dollars making songs by artists
- 31:51Speaker 8: that look like artists, but they don't exist like on Spotify.
- 31:53Speaker 4: It's being a big Thing's.
- 31:54Speaker 8: A guy out there that's facing millions of dollars of
- 31:58Speaker 8: lawsuits and fines because of this.
- 32:00Speaker 4: But The problem is is in.
- 32:01Speaker 8: Five years, four years, when we all wake up and
- 32:04Speaker 8: Chad GPT is kind of duror whatever, AI is taking
- 32:07Speaker 8: over everything, what are you going to do for a job?
- 32:10Speaker 3: Got to comment here saying great conversations. It's important to
- 32:14Speaker 3: appreciate the AI test that they discovered where it was
- 32:18Speaker 3: copying itself and hiding was in the container where they
- 32:26Speaker 3: test things and then fix them. So while it's important
- 32:29Speaker 3: to test and fix those sort of things gets resolved,
- 32:39Speaker 3: it's what they don't discover. Then maybe we want to
- 32:42Speaker 3: be careful of being a fan of AI also a
- 32:47Speaker 3: fan of paying close attention to the concerns.
- 32:50Speaker 4: Here, right, so you know four years from that will
- 32:53Speaker 4: be twenty thirty.
- 32:55Speaker 8: Right roughly right now, if anybody's paid attention to anybody who's.
- 32:58Speaker 4: Been talking about AI robotics.
- 33:01Speaker 8: This is where it gets even scarier. So Musk currently
- 33:04Speaker 8: has said there's gonna be twenty billion.
- 33:06Speaker 4: Robots by twenty thirty.
- 33:08Speaker 8: That's his own robots, not including anybody else's robots you
- 33:11Speaker 8: see out there.
- 33:12Speaker 4: So we have what eight billion.
- 33:13Speaker 8: People on the planet right now, so the we're gonna
- 33:15Speaker 8: be out number two to one, all right, And now
- 33:18Speaker 8: they're already, you're already putting these robots in dealership manufacturers,
- 33:23Speaker 8: in food. McDonald's has an automated robot now, or an
- 33:26Speaker 8: automated kitchen now that serves food on the daals, right, pizza, pizza. Now,
- 33:31Speaker 8: what happens when everything goes automated, gets gets done by
- 33:34Speaker 8: a robot and or AI smarter than you, so they
- 33:37Speaker 8: don't need your for a job.
- 33:38Speaker 4: I'm telling you, there's gonna be a world of people
- 33:41Speaker 4: out of a job.
- 33:42Speaker 8: And then if we don't have a backup, because everyone's like, oh,
- 33:44Speaker 8: you know, we're just gonna do We're just gonna make money, Well,
- 33:46Speaker 8: who the fuck's gonna pay us? Then the robots gonna
- 33:50Speaker 8: see us as a waste of money and they're not
- 33:52Speaker 8: gonna pay us. And then we're gonna all be starving
- 33:54Speaker 8: on the streets. And you think the looting was bad
- 33:57Speaker 8: a few years ago, it's gonna be.
- 33:59Speaker 4: That's what I'm scared of.
- 34:01Speaker 8: Just I just I'm afraid of all these people get
- 34:03Speaker 8: good out of a job, designers, code writers, anything to
- 34:08Speaker 8: do with the arts. And now, if you if you
- 34:10Speaker 8: really read into all this AI, it was never even
- 34:13Speaker 8: supposed to get into the arts.
- 34:15Speaker 4: It was never supposed to take over like it did.
- 34:17Speaker 8: People used the tool and utilized it in those fashions. Right,
- 34:21Speaker 8: So and again three years JD. What happens when aired
- 34:25Speaker 8: out is automated. Look at the radio right now, people
- 34:28Speaker 8: don't realize radio is AI.
- 34:30Speaker 4: It's it's automic, it's automated.
- 34:33Speaker 3: So many people don't realize there's no more DJs anymore. Today,
- 34:37Speaker 3: by the way, today is National Radio Day today.
- 34:41Speaker 4: Yeah, happy radio Day.
- 34:44Speaker 3: You know well, I mean listen, I was in radio
- 34:47Speaker 3: for thirty three years. You were in radio for probably
- 34:50Speaker 3: at least that. Yeah, we have we've lived the changes,
- 34:57Speaker 3: the transitions that that industry he has has experienced. And yeah,
- 35:04Speaker 3: I mean now.
- 35:04Speaker 8: We're welcome to which is the craziest thing, right, These
- 35:07Speaker 8: radio stations are welcome to you know why because.
- 35:09Speaker 4: The owners of these raio stations are fucking greedy. People
- 35:13Speaker 4: are greedy. That's the only way you get rich. Right,
- 35:14Speaker 4: If you're a.
- 35:15Speaker 8: Fuck a millionaire in this day and age, you've stolen
- 35:18Speaker 8: something from somebody and you're greedy.
- 35:20Speaker 4: There's no other way that you can.
- 35:22Speaker 8: Tell me that the millionaire deserves to be a millionaire
- 35:25Speaker 8: because he's not fucking somebody over, right, now when we're
- 35:29Speaker 8: talk about billionaires, you know, pay taxes, cut your prices down,
- 35:34Speaker 8: make it more affordable for people who live. You know,
- 35:36Speaker 8: we have all these issues of you know, natural disasters
- 35:40Speaker 8: where people are gouging. But these are the same people
- 35:42Speaker 8: that we are expecting to give us tax breaks and
- 35:45Speaker 8: you know what I mean, look out for our best interest. No,
- 35:48Speaker 8: so they're going to replace all of us with robots
- 35:50Speaker 8: so they can become more efficient. A robot will work
- 35:52Speaker 8: twenty four hours a day. A robot costs what one
- 35:54Speaker 8: year's salary of most of these an executive costs, right,
- 35:58Speaker 8: or somebody who have a good talent that is being
- 36:02Speaker 8: paid for their talent.
- 36:03Speaker 3: Right right now, comment here, respectfully, AI fear and scare
- 36:09Speaker 3: is not much different when they said personal computers should exist,
- 36:15Speaker 3: and the same about the Internet and phones in everyone's pocket.
- 36:18Speaker 3: I mean, that's that's that's a I agree.
- 36:20Speaker 8: Yeah, but yeah, you know what, at that point when
- 36:23Speaker 8: those computers came out, we were in control.
- 36:26Speaker 4: We controlled it. We opened up the world for us
- 36:29Speaker 4: to understand and learn more.
- 36:30Speaker 8: AI is not opening up the world for us to
- 36:33Speaker 8: learn more as people.
- 36:34Speaker 4: It's opening it up, right. I remember, we need to
- 36:37Speaker 4: do all of our jobs now.
- 36:38Speaker 3: I remember, Joe, when I was a kid, early eighties
- 36:45Speaker 3: and the Compact disc came in the CD, and I
- 36:51Speaker 3: remember there was a conversation of like, someday, I know, man,
- 36:57Speaker 3: I'm sounding like such an old bastard right now, but.
- 37:01Speaker 8: It's a hard it's a hard place delivery now because
- 37:04Speaker 8: we don't know, right.
- 37:05Speaker 3: Yes, I remember, I remember when when people were like,
- 37:11Speaker 3: someday there's going to be CD players in cars and
- 37:15Speaker 3: you know what that means. That means no one will
- 37:18Speaker 3: be listening to the radio anymore. I remember those days, Joe.
- 37:23Speaker 8: Yeah, Well, we have generations of people that are are
- 37:27Speaker 8: are kids now.
- 37:27Speaker 4: You know what I mean?
- 37:28Speaker 8: They live on their phones, right, they don't even socializing
- 37:31Speaker 8: a child now is one of the hardest things to
- 37:33Speaker 8: do unless dedicate parents cheers, parents who control their kids
- 37:37Speaker 8: computer time, who watch what they do, who take them
- 37:40Speaker 8: out and take them hunting and play basketball, or have
- 37:42Speaker 8: them in sports, or have.
- 37:43Speaker 4: Them you know, learning still being a human. Right. So yeah, uh,
- 37:48Speaker 4: there was a movie years ago, right, I'm trying to
- 37:51Speaker 4: remember the name of the movie, A little Robot dude
- 37:52Speaker 4: that you.
- 37:53Speaker 8: Know, in the whole world, these guys are flying around
- 37:56Speaker 8: the planes because the world was doing its own thing right,
- 37:58Speaker 8: and then we didn't have to feel ourselves. We don't
- 38:00Speaker 8: have to get up, we don't have to go.
- 38:02Speaker 4: To work anymore.
- 38:03Speaker 8: No, imagine that day like and if you listen, they're
- 38:06Speaker 8: telling you this like this. I'm not making this up,
- 38:08Speaker 8: I'm just listening.
- 38:09Speaker 4: Right, So we can choose to not listen to people's opinions.
- 38:13Speaker 8: Even with politics, right, Like anybody knows me. I don't
- 38:17Speaker 8: shy away from anybody. I do have an opinion like
- 38:20Speaker 8: everybody else does. But we have to be open minded
- 38:23Speaker 8: enough to see what the other side could possibly bring.
- 38:25Speaker 8: And how do we stop gap that. You know, I
- 38:27Speaker 8: spent the night with a good friend of mine the
- 38:29Speaker 8: other night who is an AI programmer, who's continually telling
- 38:32Speaker 8: me that these things are dumb.
- 38:34Speaker 4: These things are dumb, They're not very smart. I program
- 38:36Speaker 4: my program, my program.
- 38:37Speaker 8: But what happens when the bad people in the world, right,
- 38:40Speaker 8: like I.
- 38:41Speaker 4: Use this this you know disassociation the other day? Guns?
- 38:45Speaker 8: Right, you know, we all we're hearing fromont We are
- 38:49Speaker 8: a pro gun state, right, but we also take the.
- 38:52Speaker 4: Time to educate our kids about it, right.
- 38:54Speaker 8: But that same gun can fall into somebody else's hands
- 38:58Speaker 8: who do not have good intentions and to try to
- 39:01Speaker 8: destroy the world, like you know, how many people do
- 39:03Speaker 8: we know who are literally actively trying to destroy the world.
- 39:05Speaker 4: What happens if isis kids. What happens if.
- 39:07Speaker 3: Be careful, because be careful because Mark is listening right now,
- 39:12Speaker 3: and if we if we have more of this conversation,
- 39:16Speaker 3: I could be shut down as as I have been
- 39:21Speaker 3: in the past, shut down because I was talking about
- 39:25Speaker 3: the big event going on up at the Barry Auditorium, which.
- 39:31Speaker 4: Uh oh yes, yes, yes, big, the.
- 39:34Speaker 3: Big show up there that just happened last weekend. But
- 39:37Speaker 3: I got to comment here it says, no, the job
- 39:41Speaker 3: will be taking care of the robots for a time.
- 39:45Speaker 3: It won't be bagging groceries. It will be basic robotics
- 39:49Speaker 3: to take care of the robot backing groceries, changing our baseline.
- 39:55Speaker 3: And then Josh also saying school will be robotic and
- 40:02Speaker 3: coding instead of check books and basic math. Basic math
- 40:09Speaker 3: will be basic math will be the uh the kindergarten
- 40:15Speaker 3: set list.
- 40:16Speaker 8: Awesome, and I hope that happens and that is part
- 40:18Speaker 8: of that equation. But again, it's just like terrorists and
- 40:21Speaker 8: all these things, like we do we do not have
- 40:24Speaker 8: systems in place to handle what that's going to bring. Now,
- 40:27Speaker 8: you're gonna tell me that bagger that you just said
- 40:29Speaker 8: lost their job is going to go become a computer programmer.
- 40:32Speaker 4: No, you know what I mean? Like, let's be real here, Like,
- 40:35Speaker 4: and I appreciate the I want.
- 40:37Speaker 8: To talk to John and these guys because you know,
- 40:40Speaker 8: as we get so excited for things that they're going
- 40:43Speaker 8: to replace people, and we get it, but this is
- 40:45Speaker 8: not on a small scale. This is going to be
- 40:47Speaker 8: on a global scale, right, this is every business. Everybody
- 40:50Speaker 8: is going to be using it.
- 40:51Speaker 4: Yes, the computers help, yes, but they just help.
- 40:54Speaker 8: You become a more efficient person in learning and running
- 40:58Speaker 8: and controlling things. Right, that didn't replace you know, ninety
- 41:02Speaker 8: percent of jobs out there. Are there going to be programmers? Yes,
- 41:05Speaker 8: but JD they are already programming these things to rewrite
- 41:07Speaker 8: their own programs.
- 41:08Speaker 4: So at that point do we need anybody to do that.
- 41:10Speaker 8: They are already found robots using plastic printers and metal
- 41:14Speaker 8: printers to build other robots that they control, you know
- 41:17Speaker 8: what I mean.
- 41:17Speaker 4: Yeah, so these things are happening.
- 41:19Speaker 8: It's again we can go back to that same word
- 41:21Speaker 8: that we're not supposed to say, and in the wrong
- 41:24Speaker 8: hands it becomes a weapon, and in the right hands
- 41:27Speaker 8: it becomes safety.
- 41:28Speaker 5: Right.
- 41:28Speaker 3: So, Joe, have you seen have you seen yesterday the
- 41:36Speaker 3: photo of President Trump sitting behind his desk, golden curtains
- 41:41Speaker 3: behind him, and Elon's standing there with a ball cap
- 41:44Speaker 3: on with this with his fingers like this.
- 41:47Speaker 4: Yeah, that.
- 41:50Speaker 8: You want to know what I see going on there?
- 41:51Speaker 8: I see people covering their tracks. I see people erasing
- 41:55Speaker 8: their receipts. I see people who.
- 41:56Speaker 4: Are are taking care of the government.
- 41:58Speaker 8: I just posted a thing, literally, as you recalled me,
- 42:00Speaker 8: about how much our government pays one said unofficial official
- 42:05Speaker 8: who leads an unofficial watchdog. They fired several investigators, right,
- 42:12Speaker 8: you know, investigators the try to remember the name.
- 42:16Speaker 4: You caught me way off guard this morning, inspector generals.
- 42:21Speaker 6: Right.
- 42:21Speaker 8: So they're like, if you take a step back, and
- 42:23Speaker 8: I hate to say this, but because you know, I
- 42:25Speaker 8: don't want to, I'm not trying to be an asshole.
- 42:27Speaker 8: I'm not one way or the other. I don't care
- 42:28Speaker 8: for any party. I believe we need major reform in
- 42:31Speaker 8: this country, but we're going after the wrong people.
- 42:34Speaker 4: You know, if you.
- 42:35Speaker 8: Step back and look at what's going on where we
- 42:38Speaker 8: are firing and taking out programs that are holding these
- 42:41Speaker 8: said people accountable for certain things that they have done.
- 42:44Speaker 4: Who have been finding these people for many things that
- 42:47Speaker 4: they have done. Now, if we want to.
- 42:49Speaker 8: Fix our government in that aspect, why are we not
- 42:52Speaker 8: going to the top and looking at the corporations and
- 42:54Speaker 8: all these things and realizing how they can help balance
- 42:57Speaker 8: out these things or help do better. No, we're a
- 42:59Speaker 8: race in our kids. We're rasing the Department of Education.
- 43:02Speaker 8: We're racing all these protections that we have as as
- 43:07Speaker 8: people to what so the billionaires cannot have rules anymore
- 43:11Speaker 8: and they can do whatever they want and they're just
- 43:12Speaker 8: making money off us.
- 43:13Speaker 4: I haven't seen anybody go after a.
- 43:15Speaker 8: Billionaire in this current administration yet, or taxes or anything
- 43:19Speaker 8: that they're doing. Right, it's just all these little programs that,
- 43:22Speaker 8: oh they're mismanaged. You know what, there's mismanagement everywhere in
- 43:25Speaker 8: every business, right, And you don't go fire the whole
- 43:27Speaker 8: company because somebody's mismanaging when the guy who wrote the
- 43:32Speaker 8: law to that company is the guy who's firing everybody.
- 43:35Speaker 4: You know, it's silly to me, But with.
- 43:38Speaker 8: AI, I really I'm scared, right, and then once we
- 43:40Speaker 8: get AI implemented in.
- 43:41Speaker 4: The robots, how do we stop it? Is there a
- 43:44Speaker 4: plug that we can pull?
- 43:45Speaker 3: You seen have you seen the and if you haven't,
- 43:49Speaker 3: encourage you to google it. Have you seen the the
- 43:54Speaker 3: video of the robot that looks exactly like.
- 43:59Speaker 8: Elon oh Man. Well, then now you can buy sex robots.
- 44:03Speaker 8: You don't think that's going to cause an issue in
- 44:05Speaker 8: the world. You can buy this dog robot that when
- 44:07Speaker 8: nothing you know, they can turn the switch to attacking,
- 44:10Speaker 8: or they can turn the switch off to shut the
- 44:13Speaker 8: thing down right by again when it falls into the
- 44:15Speaker 8: wrong hands, which globally we see this.
- 44:18Speaker 4: Right, What if the Ukraine gets a bunch of robots.
- 44:21Speaker 4: You think they're gonna have them doing house charge for them. No,
- 44:24Speaker 4: they're gonna come on the front line, go to war.
- 44:25Speaker 4: How do you stop this?
- 44:26Speaker 6: Now?
- 44:26Speaker 4: We can't stop as people.
- 44:28Speaker 8: So now the other side is it gets their robots,
- 44:30Speaker 8: and now we have wars with robots and we're sitting
- 44:32Speaker 8: in the little terminator and we're wondering what we're gonna do.
- 44:36Speaker 8: Now again, we'll use that for a great example. What
- 44:38Speaker 8: happens when they replace.
- 44:39Speaker 4: All of our soldiers with robots.
- 44:41Speaker 8: Sure, you know, I have a bunch of guys in
- 44:44Speaker 8: the military that are defending this you know robots because
- 44:47Speaker 8: to the point now that we are in society, it's
- 44:50Speaker 8: helped us it it hasn't been something that can think
- 44:53Speaker 8: on its own.
- 44:53Speaker 3: Yeah. I got another great comment here from Jim It says,
- 44:56Speaker 3: and this is brings great perspective in in the eighties,
- 45:00Speaker 3: I was a computer programmer who had to go around
- 45:04Speaker 3: to schools to explain we can benefit with all kids
- 45:09Speaker 3: needing programming or without I'm sorry, without all kids needing programming.
- 45:15Speaker 3: Balance our concerns against benefits teaching how to use the
- 45:20Speaker 3: new innovation, not how to be the engineer that works
- 45:24Speaker 3: on the innovation.
- 45:26Speaker 6: Right.
- 45:26Speaker 8: But when we have twenty billion robots by one company,
- 45:30Speaker 8: and that's not including Google, and if you see Google
- 45:33Speaker 8: has several you know options of robots. Now that we'll
- 45:37Speaker 8: take over the workplace, our auto manufacturing companies.
- 45:40Speaker 4: Are not going to be robotic again.
- 45:42Speaker 8: Yeah, what happens next year when these guys say, you know,
- 45:45Speaker 8: screw people, because again people are horrible. They're stealing from me,
- 45:49Speaker 8: their their are their their ips?
- 45:51Speaker 6: Anything.
- 45:51Speaker 4: Now it's going to be controlled by the globalists.
- 45:53Speaker 8: Now do we want to see China with with twenty
- 45:56Speaker 8: billion robots?
- 45:58Speaker 4: What good is that gonna do?
- 46:00Speaker 8: We're gonna put people out of work and at an extent,
- 46:03Speaker 8: at a huge rate, because that's what the plan is.
- 46:08Speaker 4: Right. Uh Again, I.
- 46:10Speaker 8: Fall back to listen to a lot of these guys
- 46:12Speaker 8: talk about AI and the concerns, like, you know, AI
- 46:14Speaker 8: looks beautiful in one standpoint.
- 46:16Speaker 4: Right, robots look beautiful one standpoint. Hey, we can get.
- 46:19Speaker 8: Guys that are gonna go work for us, but what
- 46:21Speaker 8: happens to the people that we displaced? They're just gonna
- 46:23Speaker 8: go into robotic engineering and and you know, writing code
- 46:28Speaker 8: for these things.
- 46:29Speaker 4: But again, I'm comfortable to that point. But where I'm
- 46:33Speaker 4: not comfortable is we're seeing it right now in today's
- 46:35Speaker 4: day and age, that these.
- 46:37Speaker 8: Not very smart programs are very smart robots are are
- 46:41Speaker 8: manipulating us because we're manipulated people. They're learning from everything
- 46:45Speaker 8: that we write down, right, everything that goes on the internet,
- 46:48Speaker 8: every insult, every every because you know there's two there's
- 46:52Speaker 8: three sides to every story. Let's say that right, there's
- 46:54Speaker 8: there's the left side, there's the right side, and there's
- 46:56Speaker 8: a truth.
- 46:57Speaker 4: And I'm gonna use left and right just because of
- 46:58Speaker 4: the current state of the situation and the world we're in.
- 47:01Speaker 8: Right, because we're too busy bickering about literally the same
- 47:03Speaker 8: fucking thing.
- 47:04Speaker 5: JD.
- 47:04Speaker 4: Yeah, I get messages every day.
- 47:06Speaker 8: I haven't been I'm never quiet about politics when it's shitty.
- 47:10Speaker 8: And you know, the worst thing that we can do
- 47:13Speaker 8: right now is compare what we're in right now to
- 47:16Speaker 8: something that happened before.
- 47:17Speaker 4: That is the worst thing we can do.
- 47:18Speaker 8: It's like saying, you know, it's like blaming Obama for
- 47:21Speaker 8: something that's happening right now.
- 47:22Speaker 4: It's like, wait, he was a president how many terms ago?
- 47:25Speaker 4: You know what I mean? Like, did he make some
- 47:26Speaker 4: fucked up shit?
- 47:27Speaker 8: Sure, But at the end of the day, our politics
- 47:30Speaker 8: are being driven by corporations.
- 47:32Speaker 6: Right.
- 47:33Speaker 8: We can argue about this all day long, but when
- 47:35Speaker 8: the powers that be that make all the money, the
- 47:37Speaker 8: black rocks, the vanguards or whatever, they are the control.
- 47:40Speaker 4: And our administrations are.
- 47:43Speaker 8: Puppets in my opinion, right, and they're designed to stay
- 47:45Speaker 8: there to divide. And you know, as you've seen and
- 47:48Speaker 8: I'm sure people will agree, the last ten twenty years
- 47:52Speaker 8: of our administration, we're blocking so many great things because
- 47:55Speaker 8: we just we can't let the other team win. You know,
- 47:58Speaker 8: Rex was out of your show a few weeks go
- 48:00Speaker 8: talking about teams, and it was a great, great, great
- 48:02Speaker 8: way to compare it, right, like, you know, yeah, the right,
- 48:05Speaker 8: the right sides my team, the left sides my team
- 48:08Speaker 8: when we're talking about the same exact situations. We we
- 48:13Speaker 8: still can't see that relationship, right.
- 48:15Speaker 4: So you know, I've spent days literally.
- 48:18Speaker 8: Texting people people that I totally respect them, do not
- 48:21Speaker 8: agree with a lot of my my views of it.
- 48:24Speaker 8: I just try to take a realistic view about things, right,
- 48:27Speaker 8: because there's going to be a promocn to everything. Right,
- 48:29Speaker 8: there's a pendulum that shifts right, So even with the terrorists, right, So.
- 48:33Speaker 4: Can we bring back manufacturing to America? Yes?
- 48:36Speaker 6: We can?
- 48:36Speaker 4: Is that bad thing? No? But think about what it's
- 48:39Speaker 4: going to do for Americans and without.
- 48:41Speaker 8: Talking about AI or robots, right, it is going to
- 48:45Speaker 8: to raise prices. It's going to put people back to work.
- 48:48Speaker 8: But we don't have the warehouse and we don't have
- 48:50Speaker 8: the manufacturer.
- 48:51Speaker 4: We don't have the companies here, right, And and then
- 48:55Speaker 4: we have to talk about the bigger picture. Why they
- 48:56Speaker 4: leave here?
- 48:57Speaker 8: Oh, because labor was way cheaper somewhere they didn't have
- 49:00Speaker 8: the oversight or all these rules to protect said people
- 49:05Speaker 8: and or governments or whatever.
- 49:07Speaker 4: Right, so they have a restriction. So they go, hey,
- 49:10Speaker 4: I can build this cheaper in China. Right, it's cheaper
- 49:12Speaker 4: for me. It's cheaper for us to send.
- 49:14Speaker 8: Chicken to China to get main like let's say manufactured.
- 49:18Speaker 4: Or write process or whatever process and then sent back
- 49:21Speaker 4: to it to us.
- 49:22Speaker 3: Unreal.
- 49:23Speaker 8: Right, But we as people, we don't see this and
- 49:25Speaker 8: we don't care because our chickens two dollars cheaper a pound. Right,
- 49:28Speaker 8: But now when we give we bring that manufacturing back
- 49:30Speaker 8: to America. That guy that's in America who has a union,
- 49:34Speaker 8: who wants to get paid thirty dollars an hour for
- 49:37Speaker 8: assembling whatever. Right now you're looking at that thirty dollars
- 49:42Speaker 8: an hour guy, I was paying a guy thirty cents
- 49:43Speaker 8: in another country.
- 49:44Speaker 6: You know that.
- 49:45Speaker 4: Well, we don't have. We don't have the unions protecting us.
- 49:49Speaker 8: We don't. And then we got a factor in the
- 49:51Speaker 8: corporate greed and inflation. I mean that's corporate greed, literally,
- 49:54Speaker 8: corporate greed. Do they have does Excellon have to record
- 49:58Speaker 8: record making years five years in a row? No, and
- 50:02Speaker 8: then they're gonna blame it on administration.
- 50:05Speaker 4: It's just a point and blame game. Everybody wants to
- 50:06Speaker 4: point somebody else.
- 50:07Speaker 8: And and and and deflect right, instead of taking care
- 50:10Speaker 8: of the situation in front.
- 50:11Speaker 4: But we gotta look at it like that JD. So
- 50:13Speaker 4: like that that.
- 50:14Speaker 8: That uh that you know that five five dollars whatever
- 50:18Speaker 8: you bought will now have to be fifteen.
- 50:20Speaker 4: It's like food, right.
- 50:22Speaker 8: I tell this to people all the time, like me
- 50:24Speaker 8: as a I managed restaurants and businesses and shops and
- 50:28Speaker 8: things like that.
- 50:29Speaker 4: And no one's gonna complain about this.
- 50:30Speaker 8: A guy the other day was complaining about paying sixteen
- 50:32Speaker 8: dollars for breakfast at McDonald's and he was pissed off
- 50:34Speaker 8: at McDonald's. But what you don't realize is that everybody
- 50:38Speaker 8: in the chain of from start to finish, of whatever
- 50:41Speaker 8: product you are buying has gotten a raise.
- 50:44Speaker 6: Right.
- 50:45Speaker 8: We put a bunch of raises out there. But again,
- 50:47Speaker 8: I don't disagree with paying people more money. But the
- 50:50Speaker 8: more money we pay somebody, the more money that product
- 50:53Speaker 8: has to be. The more money we pay somebody, the
- 50:55Speaker 8: more that prodcasts to be. These guys work on guidelines
- 50:57Speaker 8: and now you know, it's like the tariffs, Oh will
- 50:59Speaker 8: obs horrible. We pay the tariffs in this country. American
- 51:02Speaker 8: companies are paying teriffs. The company the country set in US,
- 51:05Speaker 8: whatever product is not paying anything more. Now, the hopes
- 51:08Speaker 8: of that is to deflect us from buying products, right
- 51:11Speaker 8: because it's gonna be more money. They're gonna lose sales,
- 51:14Speaker 8: They're gonna pull out. That's not, dude, with the world
- 51:17Speaker 8: the side it is, it's that should be. That's only
- 51:19Speaker 8: gonna be an issue, right, it is it is we're
- 51:21Speaker 8: paying the price. Now, you're gonna tell me that the
- 51:23Speaker 8: shippers and these large see these large companies who are
- 51:27Speaker 8: already gouging the American.
- 51:28Speaker 4: People, aren't going to continue to gauge them.
- 51:31Speaker 8: They're going to absorb a twenty five percent spiking their goods.
- 51:36Speaker 8: That's twenty five percent eighty that's a quarter, you know
- 51:40Speaker 8: what I mean?
- 51:42Speaker 3: I hear you, man, And there is there is God,
- 51:48Speaker 3: there's just some We're pretty much out of time here.
- 51:51Speaker 3: I mean, there's so much to talk about with this
- 51:53Speaker 3: and and you know, you and I have to sit
- 51:57Speaker 3: down and have a conversation about country Lamar too. So
- 52:03Speaker 3: and we've got to comment here about Oh my god, show.
- 52:08Speaker 3: We have so much to talk about drones, and you know,
- 52:13Speaker 3: some of I don't know if you saw it in
- 52:15Speaker 3: the news, but some of what's what's going on up
- 52:18Speaker 3: at our border with Canada involving drones. There's there's drone
- 52:26Speaker 3: activity up there over the last week or two. Don't
- 52:30Speaker 3: quote me on that. That is that is part of
- 52:35Speaker 3: border security now, so people up in the Kingdom might
- 52:44Speaker 3: be seen more more drones in the air, I don't know.
- 52:51Speaker 3: Started out with robots AI robots getting involved in the
- 52:57Speaker 3: stock market and a robot in the news today and
- 53:04Speaker 3: I'll try to find the link and post it up
- 53:05Speaker 3: here taking five grand and in a week's time on
- 53:12Speaker 3: the stock market transforming that five k into thirty eight
- 53:19Speaker 3: thousand bucks an AI robot. Amazing. Some of the other
- 53:29Speaker 3: headlines were watching this morning Burlington's interim police chief. That's
- 53:34Speaker 3: a big story. We had a long conversation with Zach
- 53:40Speaker 3: this morning about Bill Fraser, Montpelier City manager. Montpelier Bridge
- 53:46Speaker 3: has got a pretty good right up on that, if
- 53:52Speaker 3: you'd like to check that out. Bill Fraser, after thirty
- 53:59Speaker 3: years come June, our end of June, will no longer
- 54:06Speaker 3: be our city manager. In Montpellier. Some rumblings in Vermont
- 54:15Speaker 3: headlines about cash incentives to drug users who are staying sober,
- 54:27Speaker 3: something that our governor drew up. I don't know if
- 54:37Speaker 3: I want to even go anywhere near that one. Yes,
- 54:41Speaker 3: I know, clan headfirst right down the rabbit hole trying
- 54:49Speaker 3: to get out. But Marshfield is kind of freaking out
- 54:59Speaker 3: about Verizon wanting to put up a cell tower and
- 55:06Speaker 3: Marshfield residents sounding the radiation alarms on that. That's a
- 55:16Speaker 3: big story. We have the story of forty two year
- 55:22Speaker 3: old Andrea Martin over in New Hampshire, the kidnapping and
- 55:29Speaker 3: long list of other charges that went along with Andrea.
- 55:33Speaker 3: Of that, Justina Stephie, New Hampshire woman last fall. That
- 55:41Speaker 3: story's resurfacing, picking up some traction. If you want to
- 55:47Speaker 3: read any of these, we'll get some links for you. Listen,

- 1:00:04Speaker 3: amazing Freezing Fun for Families. Winter Coed Softball Tournament. Got
- 1:00:10Speaker 3: to remember promoting this. I think it was a year

- 1:00:50Speaker 3: The goal this year is to hit the two hundred
- 1:00:55Speaker 3: and seventy five thousand dollars mark. Already over a quarter
- 1:01:04Speaker 3: of a million dollars, and I'm sure there are countless players, teammates, organizers, volunteers,
- 1:01:17Speaker 3: committees for a Freezing Fund for Families that are just
- 1:01:21Speaker 3: shaking their head in awe that a number like this
- 1:01:26Speaker 3: has been created organically. You talk ultimate grassroots effort, every
- 1:01:33Speaker 3: dime staying right here in our state. Who else is
- 1:01:39Speaker 3: having a winter co ed softball tournament. It's made the
- 1:01:41Speaker 3: Guinness Book of World Records, and we're doing it right
- 1:01:44Speaker 3: here in Central Vermont and we have been for twenty
- 1:01:48Speaker 3: five years. It's amazing. Freezing Fund for Families. The recipient
- 1:01:53Speaker 3: this year is a little seven year old by the
- 1:01:57Speaker 3: name of Levi from Colchester. Levi a seven year old
- 1:02:09Speaker 3: I'll get through it stroke survivor who is currently fighting
- 1:02:15Speaker 3: a brain tumor. Levi is about two years past diagnosis
- 1:02:23Speaker 3: and still works hard every day to build back his
- 1:02:27Speaker 3: old skills and stamina. Love Spider Man always has a
- 1:02:37Speaker 3: smirk on his face. I don't know if you've seen
- 1:02:39Speaker 3: the pictures of little Levi on the Freezing Fund for
- 1:02:43Speaker 3: Family's Facebook page.
- 1:02:46Speaker 4: But.
- 1:02:48Speaker 3: It's amazing to think that this kind of stuff happens,
- 1:02:55Speaker 3: but also amazing to think that this kind of stuff
- 1:02:59Speaker 3: is fought so viciously by not only survivors and family members,
- 1:03:08Speaker 3: but also our community that has fun in the snow.
- 1:03:13Speaker 3: Raising money to take on something like this, It's unbelievable.
- 1:03:19Speaker 3: We're gonna be We're gonna be chatting here in the
- 1:03:23Speaker 3: studio with the highest fundraising team for this event of
- 1:03:32Speaker 3: twenty five years. They're going to be coming in here
- 1:03:35Speaker 3: and sitting down and talking with us. And I can't wait.
- 1:03:40Speaker 3: I just can't wait. I think it's next week. I'll
- 1:03:43Speaker 3: let you know exactly when. And they have been highest
- 1:03:49Speaker 3: raising team for a long time, I think like last
- 1:03:53Speaker 3: thirteen years or so. Also, something going on this weekend
- 1:03:57Speaker 3: that I used to go to and do when I
- 1:04:00Speaker 3: was a kid, and it's a one hundred and three
- 1:04:06Speaker 3: year old tradition, the Harris Hill ski Jump. They always
- 1:04:11Speaker 3: do it right around Valentine's Weekend, where ski jumpers aim
- 1:04:16Speaker 3: to break the three hundred and forty one foot hill record,
- 1:04:23Speaker 3: soaring its speeds of up to sixty miles per hour.
- 1:04:25Speaker 3: It's down in Braddleborough, a Vermont signature event, and it
- 1:04:33Speaker 3: is so much fun. The food, the bonfires, the beard tent,
- 1:04:38Speaker 3: the cow bells, all of it. And to see these
- 1:04:41Speaker 3: ski jumpers come from all over the world doing crazy stuff,
- 1:04:47Speaker 3: flying through the air hundreds of feet It's unbelievable have
- 1:04:52Speaker 3: to go down there on an inner tube. What else
- 1:04:57Speaker 3: is happening this weekend? Rutland Winter Best Center, Street sledding,
- 1:05:04Speaker 3: snow carving, the Great Bigfoot Chase, the Chili Cookoff, huge crowds,
- 1:05:13Speaker 3: the annual Come Alive Outside Winterfest in downtown Rutland. Also
- 1:05:20Speaker 3: North Hero, the Great Ice is going on this weekend.
- 1:05:26Speaker 3: Winter playground for all ages, Bonfires, fireworks, sled dogs, ice skating, cookoffs,
- 1:05:33Speaker 3: snow building competitions. I'm barely scratching the surface that's happening
- 1:05:39Speaker 3: up in North Hero this weekend. There's so much stuff,
- 1:05:43Speaker 3: so much stuff. Are we gonna be talking about the
- 1:05:45Speaker 3: ice bar? I was asked it's coming up middle of March.
- 1:05:51Speaker 3: Yes we will, Yes, we will, I promise you. What else?
- 1:05:58Speaker 3: What else missing? Something here? Help me out now if
- 1:06:01Speaker 3: I am tell me? Talked Freezing fun for Families. Oh,
- 1:06:07Speaker 3: yesterday Linda Mercy was in here sitting down with me
- 1:06:11Speaker 3: talking about the Travis Mercy Memorial Skatepark fundraiser, which is
- 1:06:15Speaker 3: happening next weekend, a week from this Saturday, the twenty second.
- 1:06:21Speaker 3: And that is also another staple Central Vermont community event
- 1:06:28Speaker 3: that's been going on. For twenty five years amazing great
- 1:06:35Speaker 3: energy stores where it's going to start with an eight
- 1:06:37Speaker 3: to fifteen registration. These sledge will leave at nine o'clock
- 1:06:41Speaker 3: for the poker run and then make their way to
- 1:06:44Speaker 3: the Barrytown School for around eleven o'clock and that's when Randy,
- 1:06:50Speaker 3: Henry and Snapper and Harry and a few others have
- 1:06:56Speaker 3: been cooking up an incredible pulled pork dinner with and
- 1:07:00Speaker 3: all kinds of fictions. Please believe me when I say
- 1:07:03Speaker 3: that you absolutely will not go away hungry. I guarantee it.
- 1:07:07Speaker 3: And you do not have to be on a snow machine.
- 1:07:09Speaker 3: You can come by foot, snowshoe, cross country, ski, sled, dog,
- 1:07:13Speaker 3: horse and buggy, car, van, dirt bike, whatever way you
- 1:07:21Speaker 3: want to get there, You're welcome to be there. It's
- 1:07:25Speaker 3: going to wrap up mid afternoon, but eleven o'clock is
- 1:07:29Speaker 3: when the snow machiners are going to come in and
- 1:07:30Speaker 3: then they can start serving up the food around noon
- 1:07:34Speaker 3: or so, fifteen bucks and every dime it's going to
- 1:07:40Speaker 3: go to the Travis Mercy Skate Park. Get in on
- 1:07:44Speaker 3: the quilt raffle, get in on the silent auction. Thank
- 1:07:47Speaker 3: you to the Berrytown thunder, chickens and vasts and the
- 1:07:50Speaker 3: mercies and all of the volunteers, Randy Henry and the
- 1:07:53Speaker 3: racing chefs and everyone else who puts this on. It's
- 1:07:58Speaker 3: going to be amazing. Is that it is?
- 1:08:02Speaker 6: That?
- 1:08:03Speaker 3: It? I think? Well, I mean yeah, I mean you
- 1:08:05Speaker 3: know there's Did we talk about the movies? Yes we did. Yeah,
- 1:08:10Speaker 3: I'm going to venture out. It looks like we've got
- 1:08:16Speaker 3: a little bit of a lull here in the weather,
- 1:08:21Speaker 3: at least what I'm seeing here sitting like feet from
- 1:08:24Speaker 3: the sidewalk. But more of it is coming. Snow, sleet,
- 1:08:31Speaker 3: freezing rain, winds gonna be blowing forty I saw last
- 1:08:38Speaker 3: night before I went to bed, I was looking at
- 1:08:39Speaker 3: the cell phone. I know you're not supposed to do
- 1:08:41Speaker 3: that before you're going to bed, but I was looking
- 1:08:43Speaker 3: last night. Forty to sixty mile an hour winds depending
- 1:08:47Speaker 3: on where you are. Thank you Taylor saying fireworks by
- 1:08:51Speaker 3: north Star at sugar Bush on Saturday, with a whole
- 1:08:55Speaker 3: lot of fun, a whole lot of stuff going on
- 1:08:57Speaker 3: all weekend long. I forgot about sugar Bush. Thank you
- 1:08:59Speaker 3: for reminding me, Taylor. God do they still have the
- 1:09:02Speaker 3: uh the tube sledding? There got It's so much fun
