- 0:37Speaker 2: What are you gonna have us eat?
- 0:38Speaker 3: It's called the Poleman meal?
- 0:39Speaker 2: The Poleman meal.
- 0:41Speaker 1: Poh, Now, what was going on during the time of
- 1:07Speaker 1: you eating the Poleman?
- 1:09Speaker 3: The struggle? We didn't even know we were struggling. We
- 1:12Speaker 3: were just living.
- 1:13Speaker 2: Was just living.
- 1:15Speaker 1: So is it like your mom you're or is it
- 1:17Speaker 1: like after you're an adult you was on the Poleman?
- 1:20Speaker 3: It's definitely something my mama put together.
- 1:23Speaker 1: Okay, so what are what is the ingredients of the dish?
- 1:28Speaker 4: As it's not many agrees, it's ground beef, or.
- 1:31Speaker 3: Turkey, right, is an option.
- 1:34Speaker 4: There's that option, and then there's can tomato sauce. And
- 1:39Speaker 4: then there's what we call the Louisiana trinity, right, and
- 1:44Speaker 4: it's going to be green pepper, celery and onions. That's
- 1:48Speaker 4: the trinity Louisiana.
- 1:51Speaker 2: So when you were saying that in your notes, you
- 1:52Speaker 2: were actually gonna cut it up.
- 1:53Speaker 4: Well, we got what they called season blind. I told
- 1:57Speaker 4: you about Season blin. That's an option because they have
- 1:59Speaker 4: the tree.
- 2:00Speaker 1: Oh so you ain't gonna do the purperson.
- 2:02Speaker 3: Yeah, we don't do it, but we don't use that season.
- 2:05Speaker 2: Okay, okay, okay. And then what else is in the dish?
- 2:08Speaker 3: And then there's corn and that's it?
- 2:13Speaker 1: But you messed.
- 2:14Speaker 3: Oh no, no cornbread.
- 2:15Speaker 1: That's what I was gonna say. I'm excited about this
- 2:17Speaker 1: dish because there's corn bread involved, like corre I do,
- 2:20Speaker 1: even though I think I've never made it before. What yes,
- 2:25Speaker 1: even though, but you used the box one, so don't
- 2:27Speaker 1: judge me, Okay, but I'm excited because it's different from
- 2:32Speaker 1: anything we've had. I think we've taped over seventy episodes
- 2:35Speaker 1: at this point. No corn bread, and we've not had
- 2:38Speaker 1: corn bread. Oh man, yeah, you'd be surprised. We've only
- 2:44Speaker 1: had chicken on the show, like maybe twice. But yeah,
- 2:48Speaker 1: so I'm excited about you cook it for me. You're
- 2:50Speaker 1: gonna be cooking me dinner tonight. You're gonna cook all
- 2:53Speaker 1: of us dinner tonight right now, pole Ma and meal.
- 2:56Speaker 1: So take me back to what was going on in
- 2:58Speaker 1: your upbringing, Your mom's cooking, what's your household looking like?
- 3:01Speaker 2: Siblings? I want to know the whole backstory.
- 3:03Speaker 4: We're gonna break it down. So single mother. Of course,
- 3:08Speaker 4: father was around, but scarcely. Uh it's me I have
- 3:15Speaker 4: now currently I have two sisters or three sisters a
- 3:17Speaker 4: time RP to my sister just late past last year.
- 3:21Speaker 4: But yeah, mom wasn't Mom was. Mom was hustling, hustling,
- 3:26Speaker 4: Mom was getting it.
- 3:27Speaker 1: Is she like an entrepreneur or she was working multiple
- 3:30Speaker 1: multiple jobs at that time.
- 3:32Speaker 4: Uh later on like she was, you know, managing a
- 3:34Speaker 4: few things. But she was always Mom worked a lot,
- 3:38Speaker 4: you know. So it's just me and the girls. And
- 3:39Speaker 4: then my grandma and my grandfather lived across the street.
- 3:41Speaker 1: Okay, so they were like helping her out. And now
- 3:45Speaker 1: are you the oldest, youngest you're the middle So did
- 3:49Speaker 1: you ever get stuck on babysitting duty?
- 3:51Speaker 4: No, not really, my baby, we're not that far apart
- 3:54Speaker 4: in age group, so you know what, we kind of
- 3:56Speaker 4: babysitting each other because it was like a year or two,
- 4:01Speaker 4: me and my older sister.
- 4:02Speaker 3: Your putting, then my baby she's two years younger.
- 4:04Speaker 2: Okay, So your mom had it tough. I'm not. I
- 4:06Speaker 2: just became my mom.
- 4:07Speaker 1: She had it tough. Man.
- 4:08Speaker 3: Mama was working, she was.
- 4:10Speaker 2: Working mud okay.
- 4:12Speaker 1: And you were from.
- 4:13Speaker 3: Originally ch'ales, Louisiana.
- 4:15Speaker 2: Okay, okay.
- 4:16Speaker 1: And then yeah, growing up in your home she was
- 4:22Speaker 1: single mom. You guys were growing up like this. Where
- 4:24Speaker 1: did the inspiration to get into the entertainment business come?
- 4:27Speaker 3: Oh? Man? We okay, then tell you about Louisiana people
- 4:31Speaker 3: we do. We call it.
- 4:32Speaker 4: We call it jokeson, right, And that's like we just
- 4:35Speaker 4: sit around and clown on each other and crack jokes
- 4:37Speaker 4: each other all day long.
- 4:39Speaker 2: That sounds like New Yorkers anybody with siblings.
- 4:43Speaker 4: So we just man, I have a very comedic family
- 4:46Speaker 4: and a very we're all like all into entertainment.
- 4:49Speaker 3: But a lot of music.
- 4:51Speaker 4: A lot of music is a lot of singers on
- 4:52Speaker 4: my father's side. But and they all Josus too, So yeah,
- 4:57Speaker 4: it's a lot of singers. And so I was always
- 4:59Speaker 4: into music entertainment and it was a church so choir,
- 5:03Speaker 4: and you know, I played saxophone. I played jazz sax
- 5:05Speaker 4: I played jazz band and saxophone growing up.
- 5:09Speaker 3: Yeah, I did the saxophone.
- 5:10Speaker 4: I didn't watch a bandstand. Okay, So yeah, mom was
- 5:16Speaker 4: she's working. So it's like me and my cousins a lot,
- 5:18Speaker 4: and we was always just you know, taking care of
- 5:20Speaker 4: each other, doing things together, or me and me and
- 5:22Speaker 4: the neighbors kids.
- 5:23Speaker 1: Okay, okay, So then what was the next pivot moment
- 5:28Speaker 1: to kind of get you closer to where you are today?
- 5:31Speaker 1: Like growing up in that environment, you're joking, You're having
- 5:35Speaker 1: a lot of fun music. When what was like that
- 5:37Speaker 1: next step to get out of Louisiana.
- 5:40Speaker 3: I didn't get out of Louisiana until five six years ago.
- 5:45Speaker 2: And what what was that move? Like, what what made
- 5:47Speaker 2: you make that move?
- 5:49Speaker 3: It was this influencer that I met named Do Gang, And.
- 5:54Speaker 4: At that I was doing I was at that time,
- 5:57Speaker 4: I had a construction business, still have it. I'm a
- 6:00Speaker 4: third generation Semen finisher by trade. What third generation semens finishing?
- 6:05Speaker 3: What is that?
- 6:06Speaker 4: So lay foundations for like homes, Daddie olds, railway sidewalks.
- 6:12Speaker 3: You know we've been been. I grew up there.
- 6:13Speaker 4: I have a news clipping of me five years old
- 6:16Speaker 4: with a like a hand trial with my dad, Like.
- 6:19Speaker 2: I would never think that that's awesome. So but you
- 6:22Speaker 2: still have the construction company.
- 6:23Speaker 3: It's called Dirt Dallas Concrete if y'all need some work done.
- 6:26Speaker 2: But it's out in Louisiana. Okay, so you're an entrepreneur.
- 6:29Speaker 3: Of course we.
- 6:30Speaker 1: Didn't put that in the titles. How did you miss it?
- 6:33Speaker 1: That's the biggest one.
- 6:34Speaker 3: I don't know how I left that out. I guess
- 6:36Speaker 3: I don't think that's.
- 6:38Speaker 1: In your e p K.
- 6:38Speaker 3: It's not.
- 6:39Speaker 1: That's very much should be entrepreneur, comedian. Well, I guess
- 6:43Speaker 1: fathers should be at the top. Well, you know it
- 6:46Speaker 1: should be there too.
- 6:46Speaker 4: But definitely I've had my other business. I let go,
- 6:50Speaker 4: but I had a low a low vultures business.
- 6:53Speaker 3: Also, what's that?
- 6:55Speaker 4: So we would hang like phone cameras, TVs, security cameras,
- 7:00Speaker 4: like to check out the scanners of the checkout system,
- 7:02Speaker 4: we peeling systems.
- 7:03Speaker 3: We changed those out.
- 7:05Speaker 2: It sounds like you can make money anywhere in the
- 7:07Speaker 2: world skills.
- 7:08Speaker 4: And that's what I was trying to hone at that
- 7:10Speaker 4: time in my life. I was looking for us a
- 7:13Speaker 4: skill set that I can do anywhere because I didn't
- 7:14Speaker 4: want to live in Louisiana. Why because it's so the
- 7:17Speaker 4: poverty and the racism and the it's just tough.
- 7:23Speaker 3: It's tough.
- 7:23Speaker 4: And I got a glimpse of it through the TV
- 7:27Speaker 4: of what you know, life could be out outside of
- 7:29Speaker 4: where I was from. And then because we don't travel
- 7:31Speaker 4: where I'm from, we don't like we go to Houston
- 7:34Speaker 4: and Pensacola and that's it because we're right on the I.
- 7:38Speaker 4: So you know, we go as far as you know
- 7:40Speaker 4: money can take us. We don't make a lot of
- 7:41Speaker 4: money out there, so you know, going somewhere where money
- 7:45Speaker 4: is uh. You know, people people like come to Hollywood
- 7:49Speaker 4: really won't fit your budget if you know you're making
- 7:51Speaker 4: fifteen books out you know, no.
- 7:53Speaker 1: No, I'm also like I make jokes. Now, I'm like, damn,
- 7:56Speaker 1: why could I have chosen cheaper city to get accustomed
- 7:59Speaker 1: to Because I'm from the York that's expensive. I moved
- 8:02Speaker 1: to La Now I'm just like you know what, I
- 8:04Speaker 1: guess I'm just a big city girl.
- 8:06Speaker 2: I don't even know if I could survive.
- 8:10Speaker 1: I feel like I could, but then I would have
- 8:12Speaker 1: like ten hustles in a week because I would be bored.
- 8:15Speaker 4: But then the hustles would be like how far they
- 8:16Speaker 4: take you? Because how much money you make it. You know,
- 8:19Speaker 4: it's like you gotta find like two three good ones
- 8:21Speaker 4: because you can't like diversify yourself because you got to
- 8:23Speaker 4: put everything into those those one or two good you know, hustles.
- 8:27Speaker 4: If you don't have a regular job, it's only like
- 8:30Speaker 4: four careers you can have outside of Like there's either
- 8:34Speaker 4: all refinery like plant work, being like a nurse or
- 8:37Speaker 4: a doctor, or like construction. I said, refining, plant works
- 8:43Speaker 4: the same thing construction work. Like have a like construction
- 8:45Speaker 4: business the casinos.
- 8:49Speaker 1: Right, that's a huge make Louisiana sound like a Detroit
- 8:52Speaker 1: or something. It sounds like very I been Detroit, boy,
- 8:57Speaker 1: I've been to Detroit. I was wonder boy if this
- 8:59Speaker 1: was Kelly clean this up within three minutes.
- 9:02Speaker 3: Man, Louisiana something.
- 9:04Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 9:04Speaker 3: So it's a place.
- 9:05Speaker 4: But our culture and the family, the fellowship and the
- 9:08Speaker 4: food that's for food at top food, family and culture,
- 9:12Speaker 4: you know, the fellowship and we got our culture is different,
- 9:15Speaker 4: you know, because we don't have counties.
- 9:16Speaker 3: We have parishes.
- 9:18Speaker 1: So yeah, explain that.
- 9:21Speaker 4: So like y'all have county lines, we have parishes because
- 9:24Speaker 4: you know, Louisiana doing the Louisiana purchase, you know, when
- 9:28Speaker 4: they bought Louisiana into America.
- 9:30Speaker 3: However that go, you know the rest of on my history.
- 9:32Speaker 4: But they didn't establish the the you know, American waves.
- 9:38Speaker 4: They kept like the French. Oh so it's parishes, you know.
- 9:43Speaker 4: And I'm from Calcushue Parish.
- 9:45Speaker 1: Okay, okay, so five six years you said five six
- 9:49Speaker 1: years ago, that's five five years ago. At some point
- 9:53Speaker 1: you have this epiphany you're like, even though I have
- 9:55Speaker 1: this business out in Louisiana, I want more, and you.
- 10:00Speaker 3: I always wanted more. Daddy was like my dad always
- 10:02Speaker 3: like you're gonna be a millionaire. You're gonna be a millionaire.
- 10:05Speaker 4: Like since I was I can't tell you how far
- 10:07Speaker 4: back I cannot remember him telling me that. Really, yeah,
- 10:09Speaker 4: my whole life, my dad's like he was like he
- 10:11Speaker 4: was I had a dream, he was going to invent something.
- 10:15Speaker 4: Like he always tells me, like I had a dream
- 10:16Speaker 4: he's going to invent something and that's gonna be it.
- 10:19Speaker 4: And then now he's like, well, maybe it was you,
- 10:21Speaker 4: Maybe it was your son. He was like, maybe your
- 10:26Speaker 4: son going and I was like I'm.
- 10:27Speaker 1: Still here, Like yeah, I'm still He's like, you're getting
- 10:30Speaker 1: closer to the finish line. We may have to retire
- 10:33Speaker 1: your jersey next.
- 10:34Speaker 4: But let me let me, let me just push it
- 10:37Speaker 4: on to the next.
- 10:38Speaker 1: Remind him of who CAFC is the remember the found
- 10:41Speaker 1: of KFC. I think he didn't he didn't sell that
- 10:43Speaker 1: recipe till he's like sixty five years old. Wow, And
- 10:46Speaker 1: he was in the car going to every restaurant picked
- 10:49Speaker 1: up this recipe and eventually got it picked up. But
- 10:52Speaker 1: he was he was an old man. I always tell
- 10:54Speaker 1: people that, like when my dad's like depressed or something
- 10:57Speaker 1: like that. You know, well, my d my dad's now
- 10:59Speaker 1: six nine, So you know, I'm gonna have to start
- 11:02Speaker 1: making Joe's book.
- 11:03Speaker 2: You passed down.
- 11:07Speaker 1: But so okay, so what what happens before this transition,
- 11:11Speaker 1: because something must have triggered you just pulled the trigger
- 11:13Speaker 1: on the transition.
- 11:15Speaker 4: Well, I used to ask my mom all the time,
- 11:16Speaker 4: like and probably like Mom, you think i'd be a
- 11:18Speaker 4: good actor, Like I used to watch like my favorite
- 11:21Speaker 4: actor is Don Cheetle, so I watched like him Denzel.
- 11:24Speaker 4: I was a fan of Zailed for a long time.
- 11:26Speaker 4: I was like, mommy, Dad.
- 11:27Speaker 3: I can act, and she's like, yeah, I'm sure, you
- 11:31Speaker 3: know what I mean.
- 11:31Speaker 4: She was reassured, Like in the back of my own life,
- 11:33Speaker 4: all right, I could act for sure.
- 11:36Speaker 3: I know I can act, So that's locked, you know
- 11:38Speaker 3: what I mean.
- 11:38Speaker 4: So I started pursuing everything else, like music, like in
- 11:41Speaker 4: the back of my life, I know.
- 11:43Speaker 1: Oh, so you you just said, okay, skip skip lessons.
- 11:47Speaker 1: How do you know you can?
- 11:48Speaker 3: How did you I just emotional.
- 11:52Speaker 4: I have an emotional like placement in my heads, Like
- 11:55Speaker 4: I know I can go places in my head. I
- 11:57Speaker 4: feel like I've been through a lot of situations now
- 12:00Speaker 4: that I'm older, I'm like, dang, I had a lot
- 12:01Speaker 4: of trauma growing up, but I ain't know, you know,
- 12:03Speaker 4: I had trauma or like situations where I could bring
- 12:06Speaker 4: myself back to to put myself in like emotional state. Yeah,
- 12:09Speaker 4: you know, I'm a cancer too, so that might be
- 12:12Speaker 4: part of it. You know, y'all believe in that or not.
- 12:14Speaker 4: But I feel like I can put myself while you
- 12:16Speaker 4: know what I want to be, so.
- 12:18Speaker 2: You can tap into your traumas and they feel really real.
- 12:21Speaker 4: And even like excitement or like joy, you know, but
- 12:25Speaker 4: especially pain.
- 12:25Speaker 3: For sure.
- 12:26Speaker 4: I haven't had a chance to show that yet, but
- 12:29Speaker 4: it's for sure comedy because like my whole family is comedy.
- 12:33Speaker 1: Now. Well, there's so many questions from just that statement.
- 12:37Speaker 1: But when going back to your taping, how did you realize,
- 12:41Speaker 1: Like when was that moment when you realized you could
- 12:43Speaker 1: tap into it? Like were you under pressure and I
- 12:45Speaker 1: press the girl or something you were like tapped in
- 12:47Speaker 1: started crying.
- 12:49Speaker 3: It had to be something.
- 12:52Speaker 1: Oh you're from little.
- 12:54Speaker 4: Since I was little, Like man, just it's emotions has
- 12:58Speaker 4: always been a part of my life. I'm really good
- 13:01Speaker 4: hiding emotions too now from being so emotional as a kid.
- 13:04Speaker 4: So yeah, and that I feel like that that there's
- 13:07Speaker 4: your acting there, you know, from hiding, you know, hiding things.
- 13:11Speaker 1: I like that you as probably gonna sound terrible, but
- 13:16Speaker 1: as a black man can say like, yeah, I have
- 13:19Speaker 1: emotions or I'm emotional. I feel like guys every time
- 13:22Speaker 1: I go on social media or anywhere, guys are.
- 13:24Speaker 2: Like, oh man, your girl will leave you if you cry.
- 13:27Speaker 3: You know, everybody want to be a tough guy for what.
- 13:31Speaker 3: I don't know, for what.
- 13:32Speaker 2: It doesn't even make sense.
- 13:34Speaker 3: It doesn't to me. I feel like women enjoy like
- 13:37Speaker 3: uh real, you know, and they then they can make
- 13:40Speaker 3: their choice.
- 13:41Speaker 2: Yeah, they enjoy real.
- 13:42Speaker 4: This is what I am. This is what I'm about. Like,
- 13:44Speaker 4: this is what you're gonna get. Yeah, make the decision,
- 13:47Speaker 4: you know, make decision. I like him for this pros
- 13:50Speaker 4: and cons, but I don't like, you know, I don't.
- 13:53Speaker 3: I don't think I can do it. Oh I really
- 13:55Speaker 3: want to do with this.
- 13:55Speaker 4: It's a choice I'm making him, you know, So that's
- 13:58Speaker 4: the option I give. I'm like, this is what you getting,
- 14:00Speaker 4: the real?
- 14:01Speaker 3: Yeah, feel me.
- 14:01Speaker 1: That's the best way. And don't perpetrate. Never perpetrate because
- 14:05Speaker 1: you're gonna get caught anyways. If you even no matter
- 14:08Speaker 1: how long you perpetrate for once that year mark, you're
- 14:11Speaker 1: gonna find it hard to maintain that level of.
- 14:14Speaker 4: And I had this guy tell me this is like
- 14:18Speaker 4: I want to say, two months three months ago. He
- 14:20Speaker 4: was like he uh, he cat fish this girl for
- 14:24Speaker 4: I think a month he said, with a fake accent,
- 14:28Speaker 4: say one day, just set up and was like, you
- 14:30Speaker 4: know what, I'm tired. He had an England accent, like
- 14:33Speaker 4: an English accent, and he's like, now I'm done with this,
- 14:36Speaker 4: and she's like, where's your accent?
- 14:38Speaker 3: He faked it. I was like, oh my god, nah,
- 14:43Speaker 3: he said, nah, he was over. He was he was.
- 14:44Speaker 1: Then let me tell you something because that accent that
- 14:47Speaker 1: would win a lot of girls.
- 14:49Speaker 3: That's great.
- 14:50Speaker 5: The second a.
- 14:50Speaker 1: Guy with Australian accent walks on around, you're like, because
- 14:55Speaker 1: you imagine like a month and he's like, psych yeah,
- 14:58Speaker 1: save there's a lot of the accent also helps him
- 15:01Speaker 1: look more attractive. So imagine if he was like a
- 15:04Speaker 1: D plus as an accent, he.
- 15:07Speaker 3: Is he wrong?
- 15:09Speaker 4: You know, because like there's a few things women do
- 15:12Speaker 4: too that make them look more attractive.
- 15:14Speaker 2: Like what you better not say it's the makeup.
- 15:16Speaker 4: I mean not well, I mean there's there's you know,
- 15:20Speaker 4: wigs and you know they got the fake pants with
- 15:23Speaker 4: the butts in them.
- 15:24Speaker 1: And yeah, I've been very fortunate in my life and
- 15:29Speaker 1: thank God, like I'm just now learning the world of
- 15:31Speaker 1: wigs because so many women are wearing them with the
- 15:34Speaker 1: fake uh edges, which I honestly don't know it doesn't
- 15:39Speaker 1: look attractive in real life in my opinion.
- 15:41Speaker 2: But I don't know.
- 15:42Speaker 4: Maybe I got to start with these makeup tutorials because
- 15:45Speaker 4: I just giving up all the sauces and y'all scaring
- 15:47Speaker 4: us as men out here because we're scared.
- 15:49Speaker 3: Now what have you seen those YouTube?
- 15:52Speaker 1: And you know what, it doesn't make sense because okay,
- 15:55Speaker 1: so I wear makeup, but you know you have your Yeah,
- 15:59Speaker 1: they were like layers and they bake their face.
- 16:01Speaker 2: They'll be like powder here and all that.
- 16:05Speaker 1: But I just got in trouble with my twin for
- 16:07Speaker 1: not wearing enough makeup on my podcast. Yeah, so now
- 16:10Speaker 1: I wear makeup. I mean I wore makeup for you today, Wow,
- 16:13Speaker 1: because I usually don't.
- 16:14Speaker 2: My twins, Like, I can't believe you. What online? Did
- 16:16Speaker 2: you see how terrible you looked? Put on more makeup?
- 16:20Speaker 3: Shout out to the twin.
- 16:25Speaker 1: She's a makeup artist.
- 16:26Speaker 3: Too, so oh no you got Rebecca.
- 16:30Speaker 1: Yeah, but if she does my makeup, it's way more makeup.
- 16:33Speaker 1: It's way more makeup. Whenever a makeup artist, yeah, she's
- 16:36Speaker 1: gonna be like, oh, you're gonna look good, but and
- 16:38Speaker 1: in real life, you're gonna look like you're caked up.
- 16:42Speaker 3: I mean we in Hollywood.
- 16:43Speaker 4: I see things, yeah, you know, I mean some of
- 16:45Speaker 4: them look good, some of them are cool, you know.
- 16:51Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah, So now that you had acting off your checklists,
- 16:56Speaker 1: you start focusing on music and comedy.
- 16:59Speaker 3: Why. I just love music. I love music so much.
- 17:03Speaker 4: Like I heard something one day somebody said, like music
- 17:06Speaker 4: is the only thing that you can't control, like you can,
- 17:09Speaker 4: like you can't stop from hearing it, Like because you can't,
- 17:11Speaker 4: like you know what I mean, if you walking somewhere
- 17:13Speaker 4: and something's playing, you're gonna hear it, you know what
- 17:15Speaker 4: I mean, Like you might even cover your ears like
- 17:17Speaker 4: after that, but you heard it already.
- 17:19Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 17:19Speaker 4: So it's like it's like so much a part of
- 17:24Speaker 4: everyone's life, and it's universal.
- 17:27Speaker 3: Yeah. You know. Sometimes you can have songs like I
- 17:29Speaker 3: might not know the.
- 17:30Speaker 4: Words, but I might know the song, yeah, you know,
- 17:32Speaker 4: and I might be somewhere with someone who knows the
- 17:34Speaker 4: words and they you know, you know.
- 17:36Speaker 3: Yeah, I love music so much.
- 17:38Speaker 4: So I started trying to find my own little niche
- 17:42Speaker 4: in my own sound.
- 17:43Speaker 1: And what does that look?
- 17:44Speaker 2: Okay, you were.
- 17:46Speaker 4: Because I had a brother in at the time, uh,
- 17:48Speaker 4: and he was like very influential and very influential in
- 17:51Speaker 4: the city. He did, like I guess he did his
- 17:55Speaker 4: own like YouTube shows back way back then.
- 17:57Speaker 3: This is nineties, so and I was just watching and
- 18:00Speaker 3: he brings me in.
- 18:01Speaker 4: I'm all like, to me, we're famous rappers at the time,
- 18:04Speaker 4: and this is like southern Houston rappers because my moment,
- 18:07Speaker 4: I'm two years I'm two hours away from from Houston.
- 18:10Speaker 4: So they're very heavily influenced on my city, so as
- 18:14Speaker 4: New Orleans. So I got to like the best of
- 18:15Speaker 4: them for us. Mind you, I don't have like a
- 18:17Speaker 4: heavy accent, but I've also been working on not having an.
- 18:20Speaker 3: Accent for like the last five years also.
- 18:23Speaker 4: By acting, just working on my pronunciation and everything. And
- 18:29Speaker 4: someone was like, pronounce, pronounce you say with your mouth,
- 18:33Speaker 4: So that's what I've been doing. But I met a
- 18:35Speaker 4: lot of famous artists back then. It was like zero
- 18:38Speaker 4: and I'm not I'm sure if you know these artists
- 18:40Speaker 4: like uh, DJ Screw he started like the whole screw
- 18:45Speaker 4: scene and uh Slump Thug Mster.
- 18:49Speaker 3: Three two man, that's the switch a House.
- 18:53Speaker 4: These are like popping names back then, Like I'm beating
- 18:55Speaker 4: these people in person. So I'm like, I'm kind of starstruck.
- 18:58Speaker 4: But I'm getting used to being around celebrity at that time,
- 19:00Speaker 4: you know, in my small city. So I started getting
- 19:04Speaker 4: the bug of like, oh, being around celerities, I can
- 19:07Speaker 4: do this, like I can be I can have that
- 19:09Speaker 4: status I can have you know, I deserve that status
- 19:12Speaker 4: at that point.
- 19:13Speaker 3: I'm around it at this young And this is my
- 19:15Speaker 3: brother in law.
- 19:16Speaker 4: He's this guy mister Kate ok shot Miss Skate Out,
- 19:18Speaker 4: and uh I feel like, you know, it's just part
- 19:21Speaker 4: of who I am, you know, just just it was
- 19:23Speaker 4: instilled in me because he was kind of like a
- 19:25Speaker 4: father figure to me at the time. I looked up
- 19:27Speaker 4: to him, and uh I just everything he was teaching
- 19:31Speaker 4: me was because like I said, he had kind of
- 19:32Speaker 4: like a YouTube, so he would go around and interview
- 19:35Speaker 4: and then even like host all the big events in
- 19:37Speaker 4: the war shows that we would have.
- 19:39Speaker 3: He would host them.
- 19:40Speaker 4: So like he was cool with all these people, and
- 19:42Speaker 4: I kind of got like my value with them through him.
- 19:46Speaker 4: You know, I had my cred in the entertainment industry
- 19:48Speaker 4: and that in that area through him. So growing up
- 19:52Speaker 4: when I wanted to be a rapper, I had like
- 19:54Speaker 4: these guys that was you know, real big, big in
- 19:57Speaker 4: my city. I could just walk up to and be like,
- 19:59Speaker 4: I'm cad out little brother, you know, like put me
- 20:01Speaker 4: on like yeah, And then I'm from the side of
- 20:04Speaker 4: the time. Where I'm from, it's a lot of Caucasian people,
- 20:07Speaker 4: you know what I mean. So it was like everybody's like, oh, well,
- 20:11Speaker 4: he ain't heod, he ain't gangs something like, oh no,
- 20:12Speaker 4: I'm Kate, I'm little brother, Like yeah, I like, y'all
- 20:15Speaker 4: can't respect this. So I started doing that and started
- 20:18Speaker 4: involving myself heavy into that side of town, getting.
- 20:23Speaker 3: More involved, more involved, more involved, more.
- 20:25Speaker 4: Involved, and it just kind of blended into my life
- 20:27Speaker 4: a lot more so I started kind of living that
- 20:29Speaker 4: lifestyle a lot more heavy in the streets now. So
- 20:33Speaker 4: at that time, I meet an influencer named Do Gang
- 20:37Speaker 4: and shout out to Do Gang.
- 20:40Speaker 3: He's carried, he's a character. So Gang is crazy.
- 20:45Speaker 2: I used to say, I don't know if you can
- 20:47Speaker 2: say whatever you want.
- 20:48Speaker 3: I used to tell gag, he let his balls hang
- 20:50Speaker 3: the hell you let your you a hell?
- 20:54Speaker 2: What did you meet that like?
- 20:56Speaker 3: This dude, he ain't scared of nothing. This nigga is
- 21:01Speaker 3: not scared.
- 21:02Speaker 1: Give me an example, all right.
- 21:04Speaker 4: So the first prank he did right that with me.
- 21:09Speaker 4: I didn't go in there, but I brought.
- 21:13Speaker 2: This sounds like it's gonna be good.
- 21:14Speaker 3: Oh my god.
- 21:15Speaker 4: So this kid let me up. This kid walks. He
- 21:21Speaker 4: had this thing that he would do. You know, I
- 21:23Speaker 4: have a mom looking for the kid that's screaming the
- 21:25Speaker 4: kid's name. He would go into public places and stand
- 21:28Speaker 4: on the top of, like of any the highest thing
- 21:32Speaker 4: he can find in the building and scream Chris.
- 21:40Speaker 3: And then fall on the ground and starts shaking.
- 21:43Speaker 1: Why because like he was scared that.
- 21:45Speaker 3: He have someone recording him. So he was trying for viral.
- 21:50Speaker 4: It was working, like he started like a gas station,
- 21:53Speaker 4: and then he went to the college and then so
- 21:56Speaker 4: this is when he meets me, and I'm like, yo.
- 21:58Speaker 3: Bro, I don't know our till him. So I'm like, yo,
- 22:00Speaker 3: you really want to go big.
- 22:01Speaker 4: Because I've always been like a manager type person to
- 22:04Speaker 4: help people, like because when I started my music career,
- 22:08Speaker 4: I started doing these, uh these what they call go
- 22:12Speaker 4: DJ conferences and these conferences. I'll go to these conferences
- 22:14Speaker 4: and start learning music business. So I really started involving
- 22:17Speaker 4: myself in the music business side.
- 22:19Speaker 2: First smart because that's a crazy business.
- 22:22Speaker 3: Crazy business.
- 22:23Speaker 4: So I went there first, so I had all this
- 22:25Speaker 4: knowledge about music business. So when I met him, I
- 22:29Speaker 4: was like, Yo, someone managed this kid. He'd be crazy
- 22:31Speaker 4: because like this viral stuff is going on. So he's like,
- 22:34Speaker 4: I was like, Yo, if you want to go crazy, bro,
- 22:37Speaker 4: you gotta go over the top next level. I bet
- 22:41Speaker 4: you won't run that Penel Costa church and do that.
- 22:44Speaker 4: It's the biggest Pentecostal church in the neighborhood, in the
- 22:47Speaker 4: in the city.
- 22:47Speaker 1: You told him that, Dare, and he did it, I
- 22:51Speaker 1: clearly because you said his balls hang to hell? What'd
- 22:53Speaker 1: you say?
- 22:53Speaker 4: It was?
- 22:54Speaker 3: Oh my god, listen. He tell me he walked in
- 23:01Speaker 3: that church. It's at least three hundred people in there.
- 23:05Speaker 4: I might be always at least a hundred at least
- 23:08Speaker 4: hundred people. I'm like at least hundred people. So he
- 23:12Speaker 4: walks in there and he's like everyone's sitting down, the
- 23:15Speaker 4: pastor's preaching, and he's on all the you know, the
- 23:18Speaker 4: screens to tell her.
- 23:20Speaker 3: And he's walking.
- 23:22Speaker 4: He's bee lining to the stage, lining like he's already
- 23:26Speaker 4: past security, the usher or whatever.
- 23:28Speaker 3: He's bee lining like.
- 23:29Speaker 4: And now, mind you, he's a tall, light skinned kid,
- 23:33Speaker 4: blue eyes face.
- 23:34Speaker 1: No, he's a he's a red bones and he.
- 23:40Speaker 4: Read bone you so listen. He bee lines to the stage,
- 23:46Speaker 4: gets the pastors. At this point, the pastor is still
- 23:49Speaker 4: preaching looking at him. He's next to the pastor and
- 23:51Speaker 4: he screams.
- 23:52Speaker 1: Christ, Chris, where are you?
- 23:57Speaker 3: I got the pizza rods and everything.
- 24:03Speaker 4: They tackle him, fear him off the stage, hog, tie him,
- 24:13Speaker 4: bring him outside, put him on a stretcher.
- 24:16Speaker 3: Yes, goes to jail from the church, straight to jail.
- 24:21Speaker 1: Yes, And it's all being taped.
- 24:23Speaker 3: Man, this guy.
- 24:24Speaker 4: Made the news that day. So yeah, back to do gang.
- 24:44Speaker 4: So yeah, I was telling him to do it and
- 24:46Speaker 4: we started getting hit up by world star a lot.
- 24:49Speaker 4: And and by the way, so so do game real
- 24:53Speaker 4: street like he real street. So he don't really at
- 24:55Speaker 4: that time, I say now because he's grown a lot.
- 24:58Speaker 3: But at that time he didn't know how to like
- 25:01Speaker 3: talk business.
- 25:02Speaker 4: You know, he didn't like if you hit him up
- 25:04Speaker 4: there was an opportunity, and he didn't see it immediately
- 25:07Speaker 4: as an opportunity. He would just be like yeah, he like, bro,
- 25:11Speaker 4: what's this and just ignore it?
- 25:13Speaker 3: Wow totally.
- 25:15Speaker 4: So like I started running his dms for him, so
- 25:18Speaker 4: I'm running his dms, and I'm noticing like a lot
- 25:20Speaker 4: of up and coming influencers are hitting them up like
- 25:23Speaker 4: trying to work. He's passing like man, she like sway,
- 25:29Speaker 4: you can work with him. So I'm like all right, yeah,
- 25:31Speaker 4: So I'm hitting him up like yo, I'll work with you.
- 25:33Speaker 3: I'm his manager, and they're just like all right cool.
- 25:36Speaker 4: So over time we ended up like linking with the
- 25:40Speaker 4: guy from World Store.
- 25:41Speaker 3: Shout out to Steve Aileen.
- 25:43Speaker 4: Man, he's like a lot of people don't know, like
- 25:45Speaker 4: in like twenty seventeen, twenty eighteen, world Stars making a
- 25:49Speaker 4: lot of sketch comedians famous, like influencers like.
- 25:52Speaker 1: Literally yeah, yeah, Like they had a lot of power back.
- 25:56Speaker 1: I mean they probably still do. I just haven't been
- 25:58Speaker 1: on the.
- 25:58Speaker 3: Well it's not in that arrange no more.
- 26:01Speaker 4: Because I can tell you why because I know, I
- 26:03Speaker 4: know they're Americans of this, and I could tell y'all
- 26:05Speaker 4: why because nobody else the officially work with world Star.
- 26:09Speaker 3: I work.
- 26:09Speaker 4: I'm an affiliated, so I can tell you what happened
- 26:11Speaker 4: why they stopped making people famous. And this is around
- 26:14Speaker 4: the era, right, So they had a guy named Steve
- 26:16Speaker 4: Alien and he was like so world Star at the time,
- 26:19Speaker 4: had like three three content guys. Oh I don't know
- 26:23Speaker 4: if it was a girl guy at that time, just knew
- 26:25Speaker 4: Steve Allen was one of them. And so they would
- 26:27Speaker 4: post three three These guys had jobs to post three
- 26:29Speaker 4: different times a day. So then you had one guy
- 26:32Speaker 4: in the morning, one guy and even one guy late
- 26:33Speaker 4: night and they would post whatever they want. But they
- 26:37Speaker 4: had like a method, you know, when they would look
- 26:39Speaker 4: for They had, you know, a standing and what they
- 26:40Speaker 4: looked for. But if you were a sketch comedian and
- 26:44Speaker 4: they liked you, they made you famous.
- 26:48Speaker 1: Wow.
- 26:49Speaker 2: Literally, I didn't know that.
- 26:51Speaker 4: Yeah, literally, because like if they're posting you every day,
- 26:55Speaker 4: every day, Yeah, and you're getting not just a couple
- 26:59Speaker 4: of them, you're getting He's in millions of views.
- 27:02Speaker 3: Drian, his name is Dorian. Do Gang used to get
- 27:04Speaker 3: do gang us.
- 27:05Speaker 4: He lost three pages in the in the time span
- 27:07Speaker 4: and me working with him. He would lose his page
- 27:10Speaker 4: and he would help Stephen like yo and then Steve
- 27:13Speaker 4: long as the quality was there and it was funny,
- 27:15Speaker 4: he had Steve post him. He lose his page, he'd
- 27:18Speaker 4: be back in sixty thousand folls in two days.
- 27:20Speaker 3: Wow, no joke.
- 27:22Speaker 4: So talking with the world star would post him, he
- 27:24Speaker 4: would turn his phone out. We'll go to sleep and
- 27:26Speaker 4: like turn his phone out. He wake up forty sixty.
- 27:29Speaker 1: Wow, like nothing, And you guys had to straight connect,
- 27:33Speaker 1: straight connect.
- 27:34Speaker 2: So then what happened.
- 27:36Speaker 3: So what happened was so this is when it got
- 27:41Speaker 3: shaky for us.
- 27:43Speaker 4: And at this time, it's like I'm starting to try
- 27:45Speaker 4: to like, oh, hold up, let me get in his
- 27:48Speaker 4: influence and stuff too.
- 27:49Speaker 3: Let me yeah, let me do some skids too, Like
- 27:52Speaker 3: all right, Steve.
- 27:53Speaker 4: This is what you want because he's telling us what
- 27:55Speaker 4: you want to see, how to like the format, like
- 27:59Speaker 4: how to post it, what he wants to know, Like
- 28:02Speaker 4: it's a format to it. So it's a formula to
- 28:04Speaker 4: this work, to this, to this content.
- 28:05Speaker 3: Stu.
- 28:06Speaker 4: I tell a lot of people they think it's just
- 28:07Speaker 4: shoot stuff. It's cool to just shoot shit because you
- 28:09Speaker 4: want to start. That's how you want to start. You
- 28:11Speaker 4: want to just start shooting. Have the content because if
- 28:14Speaker 4: you ain't got to post it, you have it because
- 28:16Speaker 4: you're practicing. You know, you're getting you know what I mean,
- 28:19Speaker 4: And you get better because you start creticking yourself if
- 28:22Speaker 4: you're really serious, and then you start like you know,
- 28:24Speaker 4: paying attention to everybody else that's doing it, like, oh,
- 28:26Speaker 4: that's how they did this, and that's how do you
- 28:28Speaker 4: work with other influences. You get tips, Oh what do
- 28:30Speaker 4: you use to edit? Oh this, oh this, I got influences.
- 28:33Speaker 4: They use the same editing programs from five years ago,
- 28:36Speaker 4: and they got I mean, new influences. Then they using
- 28:38Speaker 4: the same editing programs that these newer influences using. Let
- 28:41Speaker 4: me get that, you know, let me learn this. So
- 28:44Speaker 4: that's how I was able to keep up. But what
- 28:45Speaker 4: Steve does is so Steve is uh the guy that
- 28:53Speaker 4: I know. That's that's supposed. And so what I started
- 28:55Speaker 4: doing is start I started paying attention to Steve and
- 28:59Speaker 4: what type of influences he liked?
- 29:01Speaker 3: M hm, you feel me?
- 29:02Speaker 4: I was like, oh, Steve, like these times I can
- 29:05Speaker 4: manage these, I can make money, Like I'll start management
- 29:07Speaker 4: agency managing.
- 29:09Speaker 3: I'm on it.
- 29:10Speaker 2: Should entrepreneur should have been at the top of your list.
- 29:13Speaker 4: I like, Steve, I'm gonna do. I'm paying attention, I'm learning,
- 29:18Speaker 4: you feel me. So I'm like, all right, I'm watching Steve. Well, Steve,
- 29:23Speaker 4: Steve fucked up, Okay, he ain't get fired.
- 29:26Speaker 3: And I don't know what happened. He might have got fired.
- 29:28Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 29:28Speaker 4: I know he's still around. Uh, Steve had I don't
- 29:32Speaker 4: know if he got drunk or whatever. I don't know
- 29:34Speaker 4: what happened. But Steve had posted himself one.
- 29:36Speaker 1: Day like posting himself too.
- 29:39Speaker 4: Who once he was like taking like a hookah tooke
- 29:44Speaker 4: and like, I don't know, Steve was on.
- 29:48Speaker 3: Steve sucked it up.
- 29:49Speaker 1: All so you but went ahead and you did create
- 29:52Speaker 1: the You started managing the influencers and start pun on it.
- 29:56Speaker 4: I'm in the d MS of Dorian Dorian's hot. He's
- 30:00Speaker 4: on the World Store, which brings me to which brings
- 30:04Speaker 4: all up and coming influencers to his page, to his
- 30:08Speaker 4: his d ms. They're coming from Steve follow So I'm
- 30:13Speaker 4: I'm pipelined. So I'm I'm uh and I can name.
- 30:17Speaker 4: I'm the fox out guys from Denver. I meet the
- 30:23Speaker 4: long neck guy, you know, I mean, I'm in I'm
- 30:26Speaker 4: meeting shout out to long Neck.
- 30:27Speaker 5: Uh.
- 30:29Speaker 4: Why I mean just recent me, why Neck, Well, Gucci Berry.
- 30:32Speaker 4: These are influencers that now now it's another. Now it's
- 30:35Speaker 4: another we're in another level. Now we had another influencer.
- 30:39Speaker 4: Let's say era now because you know this influencer, this, this,
- 30:42Speaker 4: this social media world is quick within three, like three
- 30:46Speaker 4: months for us on social media is a year damn near.
- 30:50Speaker 3: It's like it goes.
- 30:50Speaker 1: It's like, oh, because it's so quick, the career is
- 30:53Speaker 1: over that everything because it's so fast.
- 30:57Speaker 4: It's like today's news next week. Nobody might not care
- 31:02Speaker 4: it's that fast. But it wasn't that fast first start
- 31:04Speaker 4: gradually getting faster and faster and faster and fast. Now
- 31:08Speaker 4: we're at the point where were live streaming. Now you know,
- 31:10Speaker 4: it ain't about yesterday's content. It's about the right now content.
- 31:14Speaker 4: It used to be about the last week's content. It
- 31:16Speaker 4: used to be about last month's content. Before that, it
- 31:19Speaker 4: was like last year's content, you know, because it wasn't nowhere.
- 31:22Speaker 3: It was social media.
- 31:23Speaker 4: Instagram was pictures, it wasn't videos. We didn't know what
