  Speaker 1: Lord, Father, that art's in heaven.

  Speaker 2: I come to you in prayer to be able to
• 0:13
  Speaker 2: have the Holy Spirit be able to speak through this
• 0:15
  Speaker 2: mic and go through the listeners' ears and be able
• 0:18
  Speaker 2: to reach their hearts and minds and be able to
• 0:20
  Speaker 2: apply these verses to their lives.

  Speaker 1: In the Lord Jesus Christ's name I pray. Amen.

  Speaker 2: So we're going to be in Acts chapter 1. It
• 0:29
  Speaker 2: is a new series for me. And I'm looking forward
• 0:33
  Speaker 2: to it as I always look forward to these episodes.

  Speaker 2: This is actually my first episode of the day, but
• 0:38
  Speaker 2: my second Bible study.
• 0:40
  Speaker 1: Of the day.
• 0:41
  Speaker 2: Which it was very nice to be able to start
• 0:44
  Speaker 2: a segment of Bible study with my significant other.
• 0:50
  Speaker 1: And it being... We're doing it together as today was
• 0:58
  Speaker 1: the first day.

  Speaker 2: I was a little nervous before it all started and
• 1:02
  Speaker 2: getting into prayer before it all started and also being
• 1:06
  Speaker 2: able to have some kind of open discussion about things
• 1:11
  Speaker 2: beforehand before we jumped in was very pleasant. And I'm
• 1:14
  Speaker 2: looking forward to next Friday when we do it again.
• 1:18
  Speaker 2: And I highly encourage you to grab your Bibles or

  Speaker 2: get on your Bible app and read along as you
• 1:23
  Speaker 2: hear along. It's great to be able to soak in
• 1:26
  Speaker 2: the word that way, not only just to hear it,
• 1:28
  Speaker 2: but to see it as well. And if you just
• 1:31
  Speaker 2: want to listen along, that's fine as well. If you're

  Speaker 2: just curious to what this is all about, we are
• 1:37
  Speaker 2: breaking down the Bible and allowing the Holy Spirit of
• 1:42
  Speaker 2: all spirits that is the Holy One, the best one.
• 1:47
  Speaker 2: And there's many spirits. We even have a spirit of
• 1:51
  Speaker 2: our own. We have a body, mind, spirit, soul. So
• 1:54
  Speaker 2: allowing the Holy Spirit to come in, you have to Surrender,
• 2:00
  Speaker 2: but not only surrender, you have to deny yourself. And
• 2:03
  Speaker 2: that's hard sometimes because we have to deal with ourselves
• 2:05
  Speaker 2: on a daily basis. We have to deal with our emotions.
• 2:09
  Speaker 2: We have to deal with our thoughts. We have to
• 2:11
  Speaker 2: deal with the expectations. We have to deal with society.
• 2:14
  Speaker 2: We have to deal with jobs. But you have to
• 2:16
  Speaker 2: make that time for God.
• 2:18
  Speaker 1: Amen? So let's jump into it.
• 2:21
  Speaker 2: We're going to go into Acts chapter 1 and it
• 2:23
  Speaker 2: is titled, Jesus Promises That The.
• 2:26
  Speaker 1: Holy Spirit Will Come.
• 2:28
  Speaker 2: Acts chapter 1 verse 1 states, Jesus did many things
• 2:32
  Speaker 2: when he was living on earth.
• 2:33
  Speaker 1: He also taught people many things.
• 2:36
  Speaker 2: I told you about all these things in the first book.
• 2:41
  Speaker 1: That I wrote for you.
• 2:45
  Speaker 2: Those are the things that Jesus did before God took
• 2:49
  Speaker 2: him up into heaven. Jesus had chosen some men to
• 2:53
  Speaker 2: be his apostles with the power of the Holy Spirit.
• 2:59
  Speaker 2: He told them what they must do. After Jesus died
• 3:04
  Speaker 2: on the cross, he became alive again. During the 40
• 3:07
  Speaker 2: days after that, he showed himself many times to his apostles.
• 3:11
  Speaker 2: He showed himself in different ways. Then they should.
• 3:16
  Speaker 1: Be really sure that he was alive again.
• 3:18
  Speaker 2: During this time, Jesus spoke to his apostles about the
• 3:21
  Speaker 2: kingdom of God.
• 3:23
  Speaker 1: So, with these first three verses, having... The Holy Spirit
• 3:30
  Speaker 1: be able to.
• 3:34
  Speaker 2: Abide in us is a gift from Jesus. And it's
• 3:40
  Speaker 2: a piece of heaven. And Jesus wanted to be made
• 3:44
  Speaker 2: aware that what he said would happen, did. And he
• 3:49
  Speaker 2: also said what after he was crucified would happen, he did.
• 3:56
  Speaker 1: And there were so many believers and even.
• 3:58
  Speaker 2: The apostles that struggled with, even having seen Jesus do
• 4:04
  Speaker 2: all the miracles and hearing his teachings, they still struggled
• 4:08
  Speaker 2: at times. During Jesus' ministry, obviously before, we're talking about
• 4:16
  Speaker 2: a broken world.
• 4:17
  Speaker 1: That needed a Savior that was waiting on a Messiah.
• 4:22
  Speaker 1: And It being.
• 4:25
  Speaker 2: That Jesus picked those that were wrote off.
• 4:33
  Speaker 1: Those that.
• 4:36
  Speaker 2: Did not necessarily do great things. See, Jesus didn't come
• 4:42
  Speaker 2: for the righteous or the ones that thought that they
• 4:44
  Speaker 2: were righteous. Nobody could live up to the standards of God,
• 4:50
  Speaker 2: even in that time, even in these days. It doesn't
• 4:53
  Speaker 2: matter how great of a follower you are. You fall short,
• 4:57
  Speaker 2: and that's why you need the Holy Spirit.
• 4:59
  Speaker 1: Amen?
• 4:59
  Speaker 2: So, when we're talking about the kingdom of God, having
• 5:08
  Speaker 2: Jesus speak about the kingdom of God, and giving us
• 5:12
  Speaker 2: the Holy Spirit in place of Him, is such a
• 5:17
  Speaker 2: wonderful gift. So, Acts chapter 1, verse 4 states, One time,
• 5:24
  Speaker 2: when Jesus and his apostles were together, he said to them,
• 5:27
  Speaker 2: Do not leave Jerusalem yet. You must wait there until
• 5:30
  Speaker 2: you receive my Father's gift. My Father promised to give
• 5:35
  Speaker 2: it to you. I have already told you about it.
• 5:39
  Speaker 2: John baptized people with water, but after a few days,
• 5:43
  Speaker 2: God will baptize you with the Holy Spirit.
• 5:47
  Speaker 1: While Jesus' apostles were together with him, they asked.
• 5:50
  Speaker 2: Him, Lord, at this time, will you now give the
• 5:53
  Speaker 2: kingdom back to us, the people of Israel? Jesus replied,
• 5:57
  Speaker 2: my father decides when things will happen in this world.

  Speaker 2: You do not need to know the day or the

  Speaker 2: time when this will happen. Oh, it's also when we're
• 6:09
  Speaker 2: talking about verse 7, Jesus is telling his apostles to
• 6:12
  Speaker 2: have faith, have patience. God has been patient with you.
• 6:17
  Speaker 2: God has also sent me. And I'm not referring to me,
• 6:22
  Speaker 2: I'm referring as in the third person is Jesus, right?
• 6:26
  Speaker 2: And Jesus.
• 6:29
  Speaker 1: Not only made it clear to his apostles, but also.
• 6:35
  Speaker 2: Gave them plenty to document so that this would be written, right?
• 6:44
  Speaker 2: So when we're talking about the Holy Spirit, let's get
• 6:46
  Speaker 2: into it. But the Holy Spirit will come to you
• 6:49
  Speaker 2: and he will give you power. The Holy Spirit will
• 6:52
  Speaker 2: make your spirit strong. You see how I was talking
• 6:56
  Speaker 2: about how we have a body, mind, spirit, soul?
• 7:01
  Speaker 1: That's where a.
• 7:03
  Speaker 2: Lot of people struggle because their spirit is already strong, right?
• 7:09
  Speaker 2: And the ego and the pride get in the way.
• 7:11
  Speaker 2: Those must die in order for the Holy Spirit to
• 7:17
  Speaker 2: have room to come in. I hope this is making sense.
• 7:20
  Speaker 2: If it's not, bear with me. Then you will tell
• 7:26
  Speaker 2: other people everywhere in the world about me. You will
• 7:29
  Speaker 2: do that in Jerusalem, in Judah, in Samaria, and in
• 7:32
  Speaker 2: places far away. The apostles see Jesus go up to heaven.
• 7:38
  Speaker 2: He wanted them to witness this. Acts chapter 1 verse 9.
• 7:41
  Speaker 2: When Jesus had finished speaking to his apostles, God took
• 7:45
  Speaker 2: him up to heaven. The apostles watched Jesus while he
• 7:48
  Speaker 2: went up then a cloud hid him and they could
• 7:52
  Speaker 2: not see him anymore you can.
• 7:56
  Speaker 1: Imagine how that could have felt right being as if
• 8:07
  Speaker 1: Jesus is telling them that I'm showing you.
• 8:14
  Speaker 2: I have given you authority over evil over bad spirits
• 8:19
  Speaker 2: But I am also showing you that the Father is
• 8:22
  Speaker 2: taking me back to heaven.
• 8:29
  Speaker 1: And he also spoke.
• 8:30
  Speaker 2: About how he will be going to prepare a place
• 8:33
  Speaker 2: in heaven for each and every one of them.
• 8:35
  Speaker 1: Now, obviously Jesus isn't doing.
• 8:37
  Speaker 2: That all by himself. I talked about this earlier when
• 8:40
  Speaker 2: we talked about Satan taking third of the angels. When
• 8:44
  Speaker 2: it's compared to all the angels that are left in heaven,
• 8:47
  Speaker 2: a third of the angels is nothing.
• 8:52
  Speaker 1: It's nothing.
• 8:54
  Speaker 2: But those angels, right, that went with Satan, they have
• 8:57
  Speaker 2: power too. And that's why there is a war between
• 9:02
  Speaker 2: good and bad. Whether it's in the spiritual or in reality. So...
• 9:12
  Speaker 2: Being able to pick a side and stay consistent with
• 9:15
  Speaker 2: that side is very key. If you want to keep
• 9:18
  Speaker 2: living for this world, keep living for this world. A
• 9:22
  Speaker 2: lot of people do. But then there's also millions of
• 9:26
  Speaker 2: people that are on this earth that follow God's will
• 9:30
  Speaker 2: by having that relationship with Jesus, allowing the Holy Spirit in.
• 9:36
  Speaker 2: And it's a process. For some people, it's a quicker process.
• 9:45
  Speaker 2: For some of us, it's slower. Regardless, when you commit
• 9:51
  Speaker 2: your life by accepting Lord Jesus Christ, you are His forever.
• 9:59
  Speaker 2: If you say the prayer or any prayer and you
• 10:03
  Speaker 2: are honest about it and you meant it you belong
• 10:07
  Speaker 2: to Jesus and you can run you can go back
• 10:12
  Speaker 2: to your old ways it's not going to feel the
• 10:14
  Speaker 2: same there's going to be certain things that used to
• 10:17
  Speaker 2: give you satisfaction That would last longer. You'll do it
• 10:22
  Speaker 2: and it won't last as long. You'll need more.
• 10:24
  Speaker 1: You'll need more and more and more of whatever it is.
• 10:28
  Speaker 1: That you used to do. And we could talk about tolerance.
• 10:30
  Speaker 1: We could talk about whatever.
• 10:31
  Speaker 2: But truthfully when there's a divine spirit. That is almost
• 10:37
  Speaker 2: in a sense battling your spirit.
• 10:40
  Speaker 1: Right. It is. Sometimes.
• 10:47
  Speaker 2: It feels like you're breaking. And that's why a lot
• 10:51
  Speaker 2: of people that believe leave. And they live up to
• 11:00
  Speaker 2: a standard of a religious format instead of a spiritual format.
• 11:07
  Speaker 2: I've seen it. I've been curious in the beginning before
• 11:15
  Speaker 2: my Acceptance of Jesus Christ at the age of 17
• 11:21
  Speaker 2: years old. That didn't mean that I started taking over
• 11:25
  Speaker 2: the church. No, I had a long life. 20 years
• 11:31
  Speaker 2: of living not right. And being considered almost like a hypocrite.
• 11:38
  Speaker 2: And I learned the hard way. Unfortunately, this stubborn, recovering
• 11:43
  Speaker 2: alcoholic and addict.
• 11:45
  Speaker 1: Has now flipped the script... And I want to make
• 11:53
  Speaker 1: it clear that.
• 11:55
  Speaker 2: It is called a narrow path for a reason. Because
• 11:59
  Speaker 2: many astray from the path as believers and followers of Christ.
• 12:07
  Speaker 1: It is a choice.
• 12:08
  Speaker 2: And that's what separates the love of God and the
• 12:10
  Speaker 2: love of us. So when I look at the time,
• 12:13
  Speaker 2: we're just about ready to... close that I got three
• 12:19
  Speaker 2: minutes so we were able to cover about 10 verses
• 12:22
  Speaker 2: and I obviously kind of went off on preacher mode
• 12:25
  Speaker 2: there's different modes when it comes to living this spirituality
• 12:30
  Speaker 2: life there's times where I want to listen there's times
• 12:34
  Speaker 2: where I know the spirit can speak through me and
• 12:39
  Speaker 2: there's also a time where you keep an open mind
• 12:46
  Speaker 2: with people especially Because no matter how.
• 12:51
  Speaker 1: Much you.
• 12:54
  Speaker 2: Pray and how much you praise and how much you
• 12:57
  Speaker 2: spend time with.
• 12:58
  Speaker 1: God, that doesn't make you any better.
• 13:03
  Speaker 2: Like, God doesn't love you more because you do that
• 13:07
  Speaker 2: than the average person that does not.
• 13:10
  Speaker 1: Like, those people that are religious....
• 13:16
  Speaker 2: Leaders and in organizations. Look down upon people. Now I'm
• 13:24
  Speaker 2: not saying all of them. But a majority of them do.
• 13:27
  Speaker 2: Look down upon people that don't go to church. That
• 13:29
  Speaker 2: don't pray. That don't do certain things.
• 13:33
  Speaker 1: Right?
• 13:34
  Speaker 2: But at the same time. God still loves those people.
• 13:38
  Speaker 2: So what I want you to understand.
• 13:41
  Speaker 1: Is that. In this last minute.
• 13:44
  Speaker 2: We can't do this alone though. We need a community.
• 13:50
  Speaker 2: And it is very good to get around like-minded people
• 13:55
  Speaker 2: that follow your same belief system. Now, that does not
• 13:58
  Speaker 2: mean that you judge and you can't spend time with
• 14:01
  Speaker 2: people that are non-believers. No, because that's exactly what Jesus
• 14:07
  Speaker 2: didn't do. Jesus picked his apostles. They didn't even know
• 14:14
  Speaker 2: who Jesus was. How many of us are like that?
• 14:18
  Speaker 1: All of us.
• 14:20
  Speaker 2: Somebody that has a huge amount of faith at one
• 14:24
  Speaker 2: point had zero to little faith. Keep that in mind
• 14:28
  Speaker 2: as you continue this journey. If you have chosen to
• 14:33
  Speaker 2: walk this path, and I hope that you do because
• 14:37
  Speaker 2: it is the most rewarding.
• 14:38
  Speaker 1: Sorrow will come. Pain will come.
• 14:41
  Speaker 2: But if you have that relationship with Jesus Christ, that
• 14:44
  Speaker 2: joy that is in your bones and your soul will
• 14:48
