  - Hello and welcome to this week's PCJ Pop.
• 0:09
My name is Shauna - and I'm Olivia.
• 0:12
  - So I'm gonna pop a movie this week that by no means
• 0:16
is gonna, it didn't win any awards
• 0:19
when it came out in 2008, right?
• 0:22
But I just watched it for the first time recently
• 0:25
and I found myself very anxious and scared,
• 0:28
which is what I think it was going for.
• 0:30
  The film is quarantine.
• 0:32
It came out in 2008. - Oh, so good.
• 0:34
  - You've seen it?
• 0:35
Yes. - Yeah, of course I've seen it.
• 0:37
  - So this is a found footage film.
• 0:40
Found footage was really popular in the early off.
• 0:44
  - 20, 2008 specifically.
• 0:46
They were gone for it. - Yeah.
• 0:47
Literally, everything was shaky cam found footage.
• 0:51
And some better than others, I like a lot of
• 0:53
  found footage movies.
• 0:55
I thought this one was very successful.
• 0:57
It stars Jennifer Carpenter, who most people would know
• 0:59
  from Dexter.
• 1:01
  - Yeah, I always just think Debbie's quarantined when I watch it.
• 1:05
  - Yeah, literally.
• 1:06
Andrew's like, what are you watching?
• 1:07
  I like Deb's quarantine.
• 1:08
  (laughing)
• 1:10
So, Deb, I'm sorry, Jennifer Carpenter.
• 1:14
Stars as a journalist who is following a group
• 1:19
of firefighters and she has her cameraman following them
• 1:23
and she's making like a new segment or documentary
• 1:26
about a day in the life of a firefighter.
• 1:28
And it starts out kind of cute.
• 1:30
She's kind of flirting with the cute firefighters.
• 1:33
They get a call that's to a building
• 1:35
and all hell breaks loose from there.
• 1:38
And as you would assume by the name of the movie,
• 1:40
they get quarantined in the building
• 1:42
with the people who live there and have to survive
• 1:45
and deal with everything that is going on
• 1:48
and the reason that they were all quarantined.
• 1:50
This movie is a lot of shaky cam,
• 1:53
a lot of screaming, a lot of,
• 1:55
  what the fuck was that?
• 1:56
Oh God, oh no, oh geez, you know, like so.
• 2:00
If that's not your vibe, then you probably won't like it.
• 2:03
But have you ever seen the South Park episode
• 2:06
where Randy has the camera and he's like,
• 2:09
  I'm so startled.
• 2:10
  I'm so startled.
• 2:11
  I don't know, it's just a camera movie.
• 2:13
Jess, can I say that so much?
• 2:16
  I'm so startled right now.
• 2:17
  Oh God, it's so much.
• 2:18
  (laughing)
• 2:19
  It's from the movie.
• 2:21
  That's amazing.
• 2:22
Yeah, everybody is very startled in this movie,
• 2:25
but so was I watching it.
• 2:27
  Like I was very anxious.
• 2:28
And for a minute, I was like,
• 2:29
I'm not sure if I'm enjoying this movie
• 2:31
because my heart was beating so fast and I was like,
• 2:33
  oh, it's a horror movie.
• 2:35
This means I'm like, it's doing its job.
• 2:37
  Like I was very anxious.
• 2:39
So I am definitely gonna pop quarantine,
• 2:42
especially if you're a fan of horror,
• 2:44
you know, you kind of like the shaky cam,
• 2:47
kind of like be horror stuff.
• 2:49
I thought it was very successful.
• 2:50
  I was scared.
• 2:51
  I'm gonna pop it.
• 2:52
So this week's PCJ Pop for me is gonna be quarantine.
• 2:57
You can watch it on Amazon Prime.
• 2:59
And that'll do it for this week's PCJ Pop.
