Doug Band Gives His Epstein Related Testimony To Congress (7/1/26) · The Epstein Chronicles

0:00
Speaker 1: What's up, everyone, and welcome to another episode of the
0:03
Epstein Chronicles. Yesterday, Doug Band had his time before Congress
0:10
where he was talking about what he knew about Jeffrey Epstein,
0:15
and according to sources that were in that meeting, Doug
0:20
Band came down with the case of amnesia. And I
0:24
know that's gonna shock you, right, considering that so many
0:28
people that have been in Epstein's orbit have been afflicted
0:31
by the same malady, I'm not shocked to hear that
0:35
Doug Band just couldn't remember his interactions with Jeffrey Epstein.
0:40
And also, shockingly enough, he walked back his claim that
0:44
Bill Clinton went to the island. Now, I don't buy
0:48
that for a second, considering what Virginia has said and
0:53
what mister Scully said, I'm gonna go with what they
0:56
had to say about Bill Clinton on the island. But
0:59
remember that doesn't mean that Bill Clinton was abusing people
1:02
on the island. I think there's a misnomer where people
1:06
think that if you went to the island, you were
1:08
engaging in abuse. That's not how it worked. Not everybody
1:12
who went there was engaging in that. So I'm certainly
1:16
not saying that Bill Clinton was part of the abuse machine.
1:20
But I'm gonna have to go with what my friend
1:22
Virginia told me, and she said that Bill Clinton was
1:25
on this island. So let's dive into this article from
1:29
ABC News and let's see what they had to say
1:32
about Doug Band and his conversation voluntarily with Congress and
1:38
the headline Doug Band, former aye to Bill Clinton, repeatedly
1:42
tells panel he can't recall interactions with Epstein. Well that's convenient. Huh.
1:48
Who would have thought that's the defense strategy of everybody
1:52
who's involved, and Congress just lets him get away with it.
1:56
This article was authored by John Parkinson, Lauren Peller, and
2:00
James Hill. Doug Band, the former close advisor to a
2:04
president Bill Clinton, repeatedly told lawmakers that he could not
2:07
recall his involvement on several topics related to convicted sex
2:11
offender Jeffrey Epstein. Multiple sources said following Band's appearance on
2:16
Tuesday before the House Oversight Committee, Such a joke. What
2:21
an absolute waste of time. And that's why I'm going
2:24
through all the transcripts with you so you can get
2:26
a full view of what these people say and how
2:29
ludicrous it all is because without the transcripts, obviously they
2:34
could pitch us whatever bullshit they wanted to. The one
2:37
thing that they hate the most is losing control of
2:40
the narrative. Band, who began his tenure with Clinton as
2:44
an intern in the mid nineties, was questioned for four
2:47
hours by the panel as part of its ongoing probe
2:50
with the government's handling of the investigations into Jeffrey Epstein.
2:55
Multiple sources familiar with his testimony said Band had no
2:59
evidence or information that President Clinton ever went to Epstein's island,
3:03
Little Saint James in the US Virgin Islands. Despite telling
3:07
Vanity Fair on the record in twenty twenty that Clinton
3:10
had visited the island, Band told the committee that he
3:13
didn't remember why he had made that claim to a
3:15
Vanity Fair. So just another guy that's a liar. Let's
3:20
just come out and say it. Doug Band, not exactly
3:23
or a liable narrator. This dude's out here saying whatever
3:27
he wants because he knows there's no consequences. Oh yeah,
3:31
Bill Clinton never went to the island. Bill Clinton never
3:33
met him. I've never even talked to Bill Clinton. That's
3:38
the kind of ludicrous bullshit that I would expect Doug
3:41
Band to say. Often described as the architect of Clinton's
3:45
post presidential endeavors, including the Clinton Foundation and the Clinton
3:49
Global Initiative, Band was pressed about his own communications with
3:53
Epstein's convicted co conspirator Klhainne Maxwell, which were made public
3:57
earlier this year by the Justice Department as part of
4:01
the release of files mandated by the Epstein Files Transparency Act.
4:06
And all these people that were friendly with Maxwell who
4:08
act like it was no big deal, You're wrong. We're
4:12
talking about a convicted sex trafficker. We're talking about somebody
4:17
that was targeting the most vulnerable girls in society. So
4:20
when they try and fall back on the excuse, oh, well,
4:22
I was a friend of Maxwell's, not exactly the optics
4:25
you're looking for. I mean, how many times have survivors
4:29
told us that Maxwell was just as bad, if not
4:32
worse than Jeffrey Epstein. Emails between Band and Maxwell included
4:38
talk of meetings with Epstein and numerous exchanges containing suggestive
4:42
innuendo and cheeky nicknames for each other like baby cakes
4:46
and Booboo. According to the files released by the doj Yo,
4:50
you ever call anyone in baby cakes in an email?
4:53
How about booboo? And then Doug Band goes on to
4:58
say that he had no intimate relations with Glenn Maxwell.
5:02
I don't believe that. You know why, because Glenn Maxwell
5:06
is a skufuza. She was having relations with everybody. Remember
5:11
the story about George Clooney went to the bathroom with George,
5:15
gave him a little dome piece and then bounced back
5:17
to the table. Oh, I remember that story. So if
5:21
anybody is a prostitute, if anybody is a slut, I
5:24
think it would be Glenn Maxwell. The bulk of the
5:29
messages were exchanged between two thousand and one and two
5:32
thousand and four, before Epstein first faced criminal charges in
5:35
Florida in two thousand and six. Yeah, nobody knew. Come on,
5:40
everybody had their eyes wide shut. That was the problem. Band,
5:47
according to sources, told committee members that he didn't recall
5:50
sending individual emails to Maxwell, but he confirmed that an
5:53
email address associated with Clinton that was found in the
5:56
Epstein files was Bands and that no one else had
6:00
access to it. Oh yeah, so it wasn't you right?
6:03
It was the dog, Your dog ate your homework. And
6:06
then he sent emails to Glenn Maxwell. Band stated that
6:09
he took steps to insulate Clinton from Maxwell as Band
6:12
became aware of allegations. According to the sources, don't you
6:16
love how all these people try to set themselves up
6:18
as heroes. Well, I stepped in because I knew that
6:21
there were allegations, So Doug Band knew, but not Bill Clinton.
6:27
Is that what you really want me to believe, because
6:30
I'll tell you right now, I don't believe that, because
6:33
it's unbelievable. Band stated that he never had sexual contact
6:38
of any kind with Maxwell and didn't recall ever being
6:41
introduced to any woman or girl associated with Maxwell. Sources said, well,
6:47
I don't know. I don't have any evidence one way
6:49
of the other. But is it out of the realm
6:51
of possibility? No, considering who we're talking about and considering
6:55
the way she was moving. Band also said he didn't
6:58
recall ever engaging with that Epstein on any of the
7:01
flights he took with Clinton on Epstein's private jet, and
7:04
didn't recall having conversations with Epstein, said sources, like, who
7:09
believes that you're on this dude's private jet. You didn't
7:12
have a conversation. You didn't go up to him and
7:14
say Hey, look, I'm Doug Band on Bill Clinton's you
7:17
know go to guy. If you want to talk to
7:20
Bill Clinton, you got to go through me. None of
7:22
that happened, huh Okay, I guess we know that mister
7:27
Band set up several meetings between Clinton and Epstein House
7:31
Oversight Committee Chairman James comer Pole reporters prior to Band's appearance.
7:36
We know mister Band accompanied mister Clinton on several flights
7:40
on Epstein's jet. We know that mister Band also had
7:43
a lot of communication with miss Maxwell. So that'll be
7:46
a topic of several questions, and it should have been.
7:49
But look, Doug Band very small player in all of this.
7:54
He was never going to have the keys to the kingdom.
7:56
He wasn't going to provide information that was going to
7:58
be groundbreaking or But what he does is adds a
8:03
little clarity, right, and it gets him on the record.
8:08
So I guess, if anything, at least we have that
8:11
Ban fifty four has not been accused of any wrongdoing.
8:15
His appearance before the Oversight Committee was voluntary and was
8:18
not recorded. The Committee has typically released transcripts of interviews
8:22
after they're reviewed for accuracy and redacted to remove any
8:26
potential references to allege victims. So it's usually been a
8:30
few days to a few weeks. So we'll see how
8:33
quickly this ban one comes out. And now that we're
8:35
done with Bill Gates, we're going to be diving into
8:38
Leslie Groff. So we'll get to Band after that. Earlier
8:43
this year, Band told The New York Times that his
8:46
message with Maxwell occurred when he was in his twenties
8:49
and unmarried, and he denied any romantic involvement with Maxwell,
8:53
who is currently serving a twenty year sentence for sex
8:56
trafficking and other offenses. Well, how do you prove it.
9:00
I don't think that Glenn Maxwell is going to spill
9:02
the beans and say, yeah, you know, I was getting
9:04
cracked by Doug band Bro had me in the Monica
9:07
Lewinsky dress and had me hollering. Highly doubt that's gonna happen.
9:13
There was absolutely no physical relationship that occurred between us, ever,
9:17
Band said in a statement to The Times in which
9:19
you refer to Maxwell as a monster. Records created by
9:23
Epstein's pilots, made public through civil litigation, show Clinton and
9:27
an entourage that typically included Band aboard Epstein's plane on
9:32
more than two dozen flight legs in two thousand and
9:34
two and two thousand and three, but none of those
9:37
flights went to the island, according to the pilot's logs. Clinton, Epstein,
9:41
and Maxwell have all denied that the former president had
9:44
ever been to Little Saint James. And again, I believe
9:48
Virginia people can believe whatever they want, right. We don't
9:51
have hard proof one way or the other. So it
9:54
comes down to who you find more believable. He never
9:59
absolutely ever went, and I can be sure of that
10:01
because there's no way he would have gone. Maxwell told
10:04
then Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche in a recorded interview
10:07
last summer, But how would she know? I thought Maxwell
10:10
wasn't around Epstein anymore. What happened to that? Remember? She said? Well,
10:14
I took a step back. I was dating Ted Waite.
10:17
So it can't be both things. She can't know everything
10:20
and not know nothing. I've never been to that island,
10:25
Clinton said in his own interview with the Oversight Committee
10:28
in February. The former president has not been accused of
10:31
any wrongdoing in connection to his association with Epstein. He
10:36
has said he stopped interacting with Epstein before any criminal
10:39
allegation surfaced and denied knowledge of any of Epstein's crimes.
10:44
Why did he have a picture of you in a
10:45
blue dress? That's one for the ages. Imagine being somebody
10:53
like Bill Clinton and knowing that picture exists, that painting
10:57
it would be a Tony Soprano moment for me. Remember
11:00
how pissed off Tony gets when Paul takes the fucking
11:03
picture out of the dumpster and has it touched up,
11:08
and then Tony goes to his house and sees it.
11:10
That would be me. I would have ripped that shit
11:12
off the wall and punched Epstein directly in his face.
11:16
Clinton told the committee that he and Band were once
11:19
close and that Band had been one of the people
11:21
he tasked to operationalized plans to develop the Clinton Global
11:25
Initiative in his early post presidency years. He worked for
11:29
me for years, Clinton said. He arranged airplane flights and
11:33
things like that, and was doing work on the first
11:35
Clinton Global Initiative in two thousand and five. And I
11:38
know that he both Epstein and he knew Maxwell. I
11:42
don't know to what extent he was in contact with him.
11:45
In her interview with Blanche, Maxwell said she began spending
11:48
time with Clinton after he left the White House in
11:50
two thousand and one, as he was forging his post
11:53
presidential path through the establishment of the Clinton Foundation and
11:57
later the Clinton Global Initiative, which is a lot. They
12:01
were at the White House seventeen times, so let's not
12:04
act like Lann Maxwell and Bill Clinton didn't know each other.
12:07
They most certainly did. I was part of the beginning
12:12
process of the Clinton Global Initiative, and that was something
12:15
that I helped with, and that was me and Epstein
12:17
may have helped me helped them, she said. According to
12:20
the transcript of July twenty twenty five interview, I started
12:24
spending time with the former president and with Doug and
12:27
his team, Maxwell said, I had no purpose really other
12:30
than obviously offered something I don't know ideas. In recent weeks,
12:35
the committee has heard from Microsoft co founder Bill Gates
12:39
and two of Epstein's former assistants, Sarah Kellen and Leslie Groff.
12:44
Later this summer, interviews are scheduled with former Obama White
12:47
House counsel Catherine Rumler, former Epstein attorney Alan Dershowitz, and
12:52
Epstein's former private banker at JP Morgan Chase jess Daley
12:57
huh no, Folly huh Okay, I guess the guy that
13:01
signed the NPA, we don't need to talk to him.
13:03
Huh no. Marie Villafana, that's interesting. What about Barry Krusher?
13:09
Notice they want nothing to do with the NPA. Ask
13:12
yourself why Comber has indicated that a report on the
13:16
investigation's findings will be issued by the end of the year.
13:20
And I bet you that shit's going to read like
13:21
a comedy, considering Comber has no stones and considering he
13:27
has no teeth, does anyone really think that the n
13:31
report's going to be skating? I doubt it. Maybe for
13:34
some of the administration's enemies, but not overall. Now, look,
13:39
I hope to come back after the report's released and
13:41
have a different tune to sing, but as of right now,
13:44
I'll remain skeptical. So we'll see where it all goes,
13:48
and once we get that transcript, we'll get to see
13:50
what Doug Band actually said. So until then, that's going
13:54
to do it for this one. All the information that
13:56
goes with this episode can be found in the description.
