  Speaker 7: Getting let go after they claimed those guys. That was

  Speaker 7: a big surprise to me because he's kind of been

  Speaker 7: wide receiver three all throughout camp. And I assume that

  Speaker 7: he's going to sign to the practice squad today at 301.

  Speaker 7: And I assume week one against the Lions, he's going
• 3:15
  Speaker 7: to be elevated and he's going to play and he's
• 3:17
  Speaker 7: going to get snapped. So yeah, It's usually a little

  Speaker 7: bit of manipulation. Who can you get around? Who can

  Speaker 7: play some guys on IR. Maybe he comes back. That

  Speaker 7: was a big surprise to me. And then the other

  Speaker 7: one was Easton Kilty and Torricelli Simpkins both getting released.

  Speaker 7: But like, I think they got, they got two guys

  Speaker 7: that could probably come in and operate in a certain way.

  Speaker 7: type of line that, that Rattler had in Jacksonville. I

  Speaker 7: think he started like seven games, went two and five.

  Speaker 7: It wasn't spectacular. Maybe it was one in five or whatever.

  Speaker 7: If you get into a situation where your backup quarterback

  Speaker 7: can just be a distributor of the ball, not commit

  Speaker 7: a lot of turnovers and keep you in games. It's

  Speaker 7: way to, to win you a game or Christian McCaffrey

  Speaker 7: at that point. I think Spencer in the right situation

  Speaker 7: could be that. Jacksonville wanted to trade for him. There

  Speaker 7: were other teams that called for him. Obviously, the compensation

  Speaker 7: wasn't there to make it happen, but I think he's

  Speaker 7: a fine backup quarterback. I want to see what Zach

  Speaker 7: Wilson can be as well. I think there's some upside there.

  Speaker 7: There's obviously downside there. A lot of coaches have tried

  Speaker 7: their hand at it. It hasn't quite worked out, but...

  Speaker 7: You know, you look at Chuck last year against Jacksonville

  Speaker 7: in the preseason and then who he was against Carolina

  Speaker 7: in the regular season. And like over that, that 10, 11,

  Speaker 6: Yeah. Rattler with Kubiak. Like it was kind of first half.

  Speaker 7: They can smoke and mirrors it, get them on the move,

  Speaker 7: kind of scheme up these easy throws. And then it

  Speaker 7: will fall apart as soon as, you know, the five

  Speaker 7: minute market in the second quarter.

  Speaker 6: And it was over a year later with this group.

  Speaker 7: Kind of you know was was at least interesting in

  Speaker 7: his tenure not good enough to be a starter but

  Speaker 7: this year I don't think he elevated it enough to

  Speaker 7: continue that conversation but again a guy that I think

  Speaker 7: made it quite a bit of growth so like I'm

  Speaker 7: curious to see what Zach can do with the staff

  Speaker 7: too like there's maybe some stuff that says they know

  Speaker 7: how to develop quarterbacks but you know we'll see over time.

  Speaker 5: Yeah I can tell you being around the league for

  Speaker 5: the last month or so Spencer Rattler's name kept coming

  Speaker 5: up in conversations of guys that were intriguing to teams

  Speaker 5: that were looking to add to the quarterback position. Multiple places,

  Speaker 5: not just one, Nick, that I was at. They kind of, hey,

  Speaker 5: where are you living now?

  Speaker 4: Back in Baton Rouge.

  Speaker 5: And then we'd start a Saints conversation, and it would

  Speaker 5: always find its way back some way, somehow, to Spencer Rattler.

  Speaker 5: So in the league, as you know, in league circles,

  Speaker 5: he has talked about this potentially being somebody that another
• 7:10
  Speaker 5: team would value more than he's valued with the Saints.

  Speaker 7: There's no doubt about it. And look, I understand the disconnect.

  Speaker 7: I would say if you're out there, and again, it's practice.

  Speaker 7: Who cares if it's not on the field?

  Speaker 6: But Like, training camp was really solid.

  Speaker 7: That first preseason game, I think, put a really sour

  Speaker 7: taste in people's mouth. Like, you know, Saints fans' mouths.

  Speaker 7: As I'm sitting here being like, well, hey, you can

  Speaker 7: distribute the ball and not make a mistake. Well, yeah,

  Speaker 5: The joint practices were so much different for him, though.

  Speaker 5: I mean, at least the ones I was at.

  Speaker 7: to offer like a six, seven swap or something like that.

  Speaker 6: And they're like, ah, we'll just keep them.

  Speaker 5: Let's go to the running back position. You're going to

  Speaker 5: keep four guys right now. It's a position that's been

  Speaker 5: banged up all throughout training camp. I guess it's probably

  Speaker 5: hard to really get a handle on who can do

  Speaker 5: what for you. Now the lead guy has actually been

  Speaker 5: available more than anybody. It's a group that's very talented,

  Speaker 5: but it's also a group that, it's got some injury

  Speaker 4: And so I like it on the surface. I like
