- 0:08Speaker 2: The world's a Bigetanks.
- 0:14Speaker 3: Welcome to Patriot's Unfiltered.
- 0:18Speaker 4: It's Taylor Swift Week here.
- 0:20Speaker 3: If your daughter is not going, she's feeling pretty bad
- 0:22Speaker 3: about it. You don't love her, you didn't get her tickets.
- 0:26Speaker 3: You're a bad bad.
- 0:28Speaker 5: I know you used to blow off, like editing the
- 0:30Speaker 5: paper to go?
- 0:32Speaker 4: Was pink Floyd Ashley?
- 0:33Speaker 5: No, it was the Eagles at Fenway, wasn't it?
- 0:34Speaker 4: No, take it easy?
- 0:35Speaker 3: No, it was sting.
- 0:36Speaker 4: It was this police. It was the police at Fenway.
- 0:39Speaker 5: That right there encapsulated Paul relationship. The last place it
- 0:43Speaker 5: was a police. Alex says a lot of times she's
- 0:45Speaker 5: from music concert and she's bummed that it's over.
- 0:48Speaker 4: She's like, she wants more. She's hopped up on drugs.
- 0:50Speaker 5: That's true.
- 0:51Speaker 3: I don't do drugs. Remember Anita Bryant, she was like
- 0:54Speaker 3: the Orange the lady for Tropicana Orange Juice.
- 0:57Speaker 6: I like you, thanks for ruining our holiday.
- 1:02Speaker 4: Yeah, specialization, I believe me. Yeah.
- 1:06Speaker 1: This is Patriots Unfiltered, fueled by Dunky.
- 1:12Speaker 3: All Right, welcome to Patriots unfiltered. It is Swift Day,
- 1:16Speaker 3: Swift Day. I was gonna I was coming up with
- 1:18Speaker 3: something Taylor Thursday, but uh, that'll work. It's Thursday here
- 1:23Speaker 3: at Jillette Stadium, and Taylor Swift is taking over Jillett's
- 1:27Speaker 3: Stadium three shows Tomorrow, Saturday, Sunday.
- 1:32Speaker 7: Uh.
- 1:32Speaker 3: They've got a merchandise truck here that I mean, she's
- 1:35Speaker 3: got more people here than some other sports teams get
- 1:38Speaker 3: for a game. I won't say who, but yeah, so
- 1:44Speaker 3: it is. It's unbelievable. We're here to talk about Patriots,
- 1:47Speaker 3: and we're going to talk about Patriots and maybe some
- 1:49Speaker 3: other things that After all, it is Thursday in the
- 1:52Speaker 3: middle of May. So but it's Deuce, it's Paul, it's me.
- 1:58Speaker 3: No toamarraw Alex is busy doing Taylor Swift things.
- 2:01Speaker 4: Sure she's gonna get in trouble, I think, but yeah,
- 2:05Speaker 4: we Evan is covering the interviews, so we're gonna hear
- 2:08Speaker 4: from from Joshua and Calvin Anderson today, So he'll be
- 2:11Speaker 4: in a little bit.
- 2:12Speaker 3: He'll be in a little later. Okay, good, So what
- 2:15Speaker 3: do we got? What do we got going?
- 2:17Speaker 4: Oh? Football wise, not not the whole heck of a lot.
- 2:20Speaker 3: I was.
- 2:20Speaker 4: I was gonna say I Bradley cracked me up with
- 2:22Speaker 4: the Christian Gonzalez tweet, which really highly performed. It was
- 2:26Speaker 4: literally just Christian Gonzalez like.
- 2:28Speaker 5: I'm at a complete loss for where Andy had something
- 2:31Speaker 5: about it. I totally like, I just don't understand. So
- 2:34Speaker 5: back and you had a funny little response.
- 2:36Speaker 3: So social media posted about a fifteen second I mean
- 2:40Speaker 3: even that. It was like five second clip of Christian
- 2:43Speaker 3: Gonzales at practice in shorts, just making some cuts and
- 2:48Speaker 3: it's out performing our schedule release video, which okay, so
- 2:52Speaker 3: I'm gonna look at a glass half full. The interest
- 2:56Speaker 3: in the team is still there.
- 2:57Speaker 4: Yeah, I'll take it. I'll take it. Well, that's why
- 2:59Speaker 4: I asked, because I'm like, well, why would you get
- 3:01Speaker 4: worked up about this when I mean, you have like
- 3:03Speaker 4: a seven minute video which takes a lot more to
- 3:05Speaker 4: commitment like a five second thing, like, well, of course
- 3:08Speaker 4: that's going to happen, you know, I mean I know
- 3:09Speaker 4: that this is gone above and you know the people
- 3:13Speaker 4: are upset that it's just jokingly okay, you know that. Oh,
- 3:17Speaker 4: but you know somebody sits for a six minute schedule
- 3:19Speaker 4: release film and then comes across it. Yeah, and there
- 3:22Speaker 4: he is. Then.
- 3:22Speaker 5: Okay, you know that's a big difference. Just get that
- 3:24Speaker 5: scrolling through. You didn't even stop them.
- 3:26Speaker 3: All you had to do was glance at it. And
- 3:28Speaker 3: that counts as a view.
- 3:29Speaker 4: Right, right. But he's so strikingly athletic, you know, it
- 3:32Speaker 4: just catches yourriking. He's a d one athlete. He should be.
- 3:35Speaker 5: Thank you for.
- 3:36Speaker 4: I don't know. He moves different to me, he moves,
- 3:39Speaker 4: I mean different than I think he's. I think he's.
- 3:42Speaker 4: I think he's a special athlete. I do. I mean,
- 3:43Speaker 4: even for an NFL player, I think he moves. You know,
- 3:47Speaker 4: look and this is just the guy running in shorts,
- 3:48Speaker 4: and but I think that's what you've done.
- 3:50Speaker 5: Between the undrafted rookies playing cornerback in the first round pick.
- 3:57Speaker 4: I still think even for a first round pick, I
- 3:59Speaker 4: think he's he moves special for okay, for anybody. I mean,
- 4:02Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 4:02Speaker 5: That's I was pretty excited about the idea of drafting
- 4:06Speaker 5: him that, which is why I picked it as my
- 4:08Speaker 5: sort of dream scenario, because I didn't think he'd be
- 4:11Speaker 5: around at fourteen and obviously eventually seventeen. But yeah, I
- 4:15Speaker 5: was pretty he's pretty understanding that he was pretty athletic.
- 4:19Speaker 3: Usually we at least wait, you know, for the bromance,
- 4:22Speaker 3: for when we get to actually see the OTA practices. Now, Michael,
- 4:28Speaker 3: now we're developing crushes in five second videos, So that's
- 4:31Speaker 3: a new that's a new high.
- 4:33Speaker 4: Hey, we'll take it, man, we need it. We need it, Like,
- 4:35Speaker 4: let's go, let's get some hype going for this kid.
- 4:37Speaker 4: But yeah, I'm excited to see him out there. Next
- 4:40Speaker 4: wee week from today will be the first one. So yeah,
- 4:42Speaker 4: we'll see.
- 4:43Speaker 3: It's going to be exciting to actually get to see
- 4:45Speaker 3: it and live. And oh he's using this guy in
- 4:49Speaker 3: this position, which made say, but you know, it'll be
- 4:52Speaker 3: fun to watch.
- 4:53Speaker 4: For a minute.
- 4:54Speaker 5: Yeah, for a minute.
- 4:58Speaker 4: So you know what happened Peggy back Like you get
- 5:01Speaker 4: out there, you're like, all right, all right, and then
- 5:03Speaker 4: it's all right, they're stretching.
- 5:05Speaker 5: Well that's right.
- 5:05Speaker 3: Then it's like, okay, I can't wait to get the
- 5:07Speaker 3: mini camp.
- 5:09Speaker 4: That's what I meant.
- 5:10Speaker 3: I wasn't but I was looking ahead, you know that
- 5:13Speaker 3: you don't even have in the.
- 5:14Speaker 5: Moment in training camp. That's how I would feel like
- 5:18Speaker 5: the OTAs are tough, because those are all the same.
- 5:21Speaker 5: You know, with no pads, you don't really see anything
- 5:23Speaker 5: but training camp. When the pads come on, which is whatever, day, three, four, five,
- 5:28Speaker 5: whatever it is, now, I always have that feeling like, oh,
- 5:32Speaker 5: you know, now we'll get to see what, you know,
- 5:33Speaker 5: watch the offensive defensive line a little bit. Well, what
- 5:36Speaker 5: maybe a goal line drill and they might as well.
- 5:39Speaker 5: And then like the third day of that, you're like, okay,
- 5:42Speaker 5: well even set.
- 5:45Speaker 3: Yeah. But the thing is nowadays, even even though they
- 5:47Speaker 3: have pads on, it's still like they're not really hitting.
- 5:49Speaker 5: Yeah, you know, now you're right for it. There's been
- 5:52Speaker 5: even even in the Belichick era, there's a lot less
- 5:55Speaker 5: physicality I think now in camp.
- 5:57Speaker 4: I mean, do we ever really see the goal line?
- 5:59Speaker 4: I felt like that while all summer last year, I
- 6:03Speaker 4: don't think they had anything like wondering they had some
- 6:05Speaker 4: passing because there was a ton of they have when
- 6:08Speaker 4: they had the joint press. You don't know.
- 6:10Speaker 5: But you know, Mike, we usually start training camp with
- 6:12Speaker 5: red zone.
- 6:13Speaker 4: Yeah, we do it, we do, we do it.
- 6:14Speaker 3: I'm speaking of Belichick.
- 6:16Speaker 4: He was at the Garden last last night, Stevens doing
- 6:19Speaker 4: some some za. Yeah.
- 6:21Speaker 3: Yeah, so that wasn't good. Well, not, so that wasn't good.
- 6:24Speaker 5: I did see someone on Twitter and I wish I
- 6:26Speaker 5: could remember who it was, just credit, Like, do you
- 6:28Speaker 5: think that Bill just looks at that and says, I'm
- 6:30Speaker 5: I don't really coach basketball, but but the other team's
- 6:32Speaker 5: on like a forty to nothing worn might want to
- 6:35Speaker 5: call a time out at some point.
- 6:36Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 6:37Speaker 5: Do you think Bill just looked at at Brad Stevens
- 6:39Speaker 5: and said that.
- 6:40Speaker 8: What do we do?
- 6:41Speaker 4: You let him do this?
- 6:42Speaker 3: Like listen, I I feel for Joe Mozzarella, but you.
- 6:48Speaker 5: Know that's that's I've been in the middle of my
- 6:50Speaker 5: sensitivity training. I'm not I'm not sure that's okay, Okay, Joe.
- 6:53Speaker 4: Mausa, Joezuzu.
- 6:57Speaker 3: But even if they win the championship, I think they
- 6:59Speaker 3: need a better coach for these guys. I think that
- 7:03Speaker 3: they're doing the play more. I think they're doing the
- 7:05Speaker 3: players at the service.
- 7:06Speaker 5: Yeah, you know, and you know what I mean. We
- 7:09Speaker 5: don't have to devolve into Celtics here, especially for Minor
- 7:11Speaker 5: doesn't even understand basketball. But I think in addition to
- 7:16Speaker 5: his tactical shortcomings, which I think are debatable, I mean,
- 7:19Speaker 5: you could make an argument, you know, especially in the
- 7:21Speaker 5: analytics era. You know, well timeouts don't actually have all
- 7:25Speaker 5: that stuff. I'm not even talking about what he does
- 7:28Speaker 5: x's and o's wise, I think he creates strife, like
- 7:32Speaker 5: artificial problems. He creates with his adversarial relationship with the media,
- 7:37Speaker 5: which half the time is his comments are meant to
- 7:42Speaker 5: defend himself and make poke fun at the media, but
- 7:47Speaker 5: not even understanding that he's kind of throwing his players
- 7:50Speaker 5: sometimes under the bus. And I think that there's there's
- 7:53Speaker 5: there's a conflict there. Like last night, and just to
- 7:56Speaker 5: let everybody know, anybody that doesn't maybe pay attention to
- 7:59Speaker 5: the Celtics the way we do. They had a disastrous
- 8:02Speaker 5: third quarter and all, you know, like a lot of
- 8:06Speaker 5: the questions were about, you know, you know, were you
- 8:09Speaker 5: prepared for that run? Did you make any adjustments?
- 8:11Speaker 4: Did you know?
- 8:13Speaker 5: And Joe Missoula just kept saying over and over again,
- 8:16Speaker 5: we were prepared, we were prepared, We prepared for this.
- 8:20Speaker 5: We came out with the same intensity. It was a
- 8:22Speaker 5: bad we had a bad quarter and we let go
- 8:24Speaker 5: of the rope in the third quarter. And I think
- 8:26Speaker 5: that in trying to defend himself, like, don't put this
- 8:29Speaker 5: on me, we were ready for this. We knew what
- 8:30Speaker 5: they were going to do, and we were ready for it.
- 8:32Speaker 5: We were prepared. Don't blame the coach. He's basically blaming
- 8:37Speaker 5: the players for saying they didn't do what I told
- 8:40Speaker 5: him to do for all three quarters. They stopped doing
- 8:42Speaker 5: it in the third quarter. And I think that creates
- 8:45Speaker 5: the situations where you hear the players, like Marcus Smart
- 8:48Speaker 5: last week say you know, they've been killing Joe Miszoula,
- 8:52Speaker 5: and rightly so, he said that last week.
- 8:54Speaker 4: Did you hear that comment?
- 8:55Speaker 5: He actually said that. I heard that, and I think
- 8:57Speaker 5: there's this conflict between the players and the coach that's
- 9:00Speaker 5: just not healthy.
- 9:01Speaker 3: No, he's he's very defensive, and rightfully so. No, But
- 9:06Speaker 3: you know, it's it's just not a good situation.
- 9:08Speaker 5: And I would agree with that too, Friends, I understand
- 9:11Speaker 5: why he's defensive.
- 9:12Speaker 4: Yeah. Do you ever connect preparation though in any sport,
- 9:14Speaker 4: to end of game performance, Like I don't really like.
- 9:17Speaker 5: Fourth quarter was fine, The damage was done on the
- 9:19Speaker 5: third quarter, you know, But.
- 9:20Speaker 3: But quate preparation with situations. Here's a situation that we
- 9:26Speaker 3: prepared for. But when you have a forty six point.
- 9:30Speaker 4: Quarter room, you went into the locker room.
- 9:31Speaker 3: That's that's more than a situation.
- 9:33Speaker 5: Correct, you went into the locker room, you came out,
- 9:36Speaker 5: should have been understanding that there's gonna be something different
- 9:39Speaker 5: than what happened earlier.
- 9:41Speaker 3: They're gonna make They were not ready for it. Yeah,
- 9:44Speaker 3: you know, like I'm all for, like, Okay, we were
- 9:46Speaker 3: doing something right to end the half. Keep doing it
- 9:48Speaker 3: until they show us that we can anymore. But once
- 9:51Speaker 3: they show that, okay, have a plan for expecting them
- 9:55Speaker 3: them to make adjustments so that you can. And he
- 9:58Speaker 3: didn't do that, and you know they were on. If
- 10:00Speaker 3: they had done the same thing at every quarter, the
- 10:03Speaker 3: Celtics would have given up one hundred and eighty points.
- 10:05Speaker 4: He can't have that.
- 10:06Speaker 5: And on top of all that, they didn't play great
- 10:09Speaker 5: defense at all during the game because Miami can't score.
- 10:13Speaker 5: Miami's typical playoff wins are like one O two to
- 10:15Speaker 5: ninety six. And all of a sudden, they had fifty
- 10:18Speaker 5: seven points at the half. Yeah, And I was like,
- 10:21Speaker 5: all it's gonna take is five good minutes of defense
- 10:24Speaker 5: and this game's gonna be over. Yeah, And instead, it's
- 10:26Speaker 5: what Fred said. They came out and looked like like
- 10:29Speaker 5: the early eighties Denver Nuggets going up and down the court,
- 10:31Speaker 5: scoring one hundred and sixty points. It was amazing, like
- 10:35Speaker 5: how easy it was for Miami to score in the
- 10:37Speaker 5: third quarter anyway, And I was already and I told
- 10:41Speaker 5: Alex this read. I was all ready to say Marcus Smart.
- 10:45Speaker 5: For one night, I gotta say, I have nothing to
- 10:48Speaker 5: complain about the first half for Marcus SMARTT was as
- 10:51Speaker 5: good as you could play as a point guard. He's
- 10:54Speaker 5: like past making these passes. He's under control, he's not
- 10:57Speaker 5: injecting himself into the offense. And the third quarter comes around,
- 11:01Speaker 5: he decides, I gotta get mine now. It's miss, miss turnover,
- 11:05Speaker 5: miss free throw, miss three. And I think he made
- 11:08Speaker 5: one shot in that run. But I have to say
- 11:11Speaker 5: he became Marcus Smart than the third quarter.
- 11:12Speaker 4: My limited Celtics watching, Like when, because I flipped the
- 11:14Speaker 4: game on for a little bit last night, did you
- 11:16Speaker 4: really like, yeah, yea end of the first half. I
- 11:20Speaker 4: watched probably a half hour, so but oh.
- 11:22Speaker 5: You probably saw the best. That's the best the Celtics play.
- 11:23Speaker 4: I thought it looked pretty good. I was like, I'll
- 11:24Speaker 4: go to bed. I assume it all went to plan.
- 11:26Speaker 4: But everything you say and like just your whole point
- 11:29Speaker 4: of view on Marcus smart like it always seeps into
- 11:31Speaker 4: my mind of like, and I know exactly what.
- 11:33Speaker 5: I have no complaints about him in the first half
- 11:35Speaker 5: last night, I got to say that I have to
- 11:36Speaker 5: be upfront about that.
- 11:37Speaker 4: But you're consistent. I know what you don't like about him,
- 11:39Speaker 4: and it's you know, you start in the ten to
- 11:42Speaker 4: the third quarter. If he did it do if he
- 11:43Speaker 4: was to do your job, guy, don't try to do
- 11:45Speaker 4: too much. He'd be amazing. When he tries to do
- 11:47Speaker 4: too much, he tries to think he's the man. Then
- 11:48Speaker 4: it becomes too much, and.
- 11:50Speaker 5: It would be like if if Matthew Slater decided that
- 11:55Speaker 5: he was gonna demand like fifty catches a season, Right,
- 11:59Speaker 5: That's what Marcus tries to do every once in a
- 12:01Speaker 5: while too often.
- 12:02Speaker 3: Your all, yeah, all right, that's Celtics eight five five,
- 12:06Speaker 3: Pats five hundred is the ace ticket hutline web radio
- 12:09Speaker 3: at Patriots dot com is the email address. So I
- 12:14Speaker 3: know Mac is going to Taylor Swift.
- 12:16Speaker 4: Yeah I heard, yeah, okay, so he'll be going that's good.
- 12:19Speaker 5: How do we hear these things?
- 12:20Speaker 4: Oh, we we find out you have some moles.
- 12:23Speaker 3: We find out well.
- 12:24Speaker 4: I would assume Sophie's a fan because she says she's
- 12:26Speaker 4: an influencer.
- 12:27Speaker 3: I'm sure he's not the only Patriot that'll be at
- 12:29Speaker 3: the at the concert.
- 12:31Speaker 4: No or Patriots staff member. I think there's a lot
- 12:33Speaker 4: of us. Oh my god.
- 12:34Speaker 3: They had an employee sale months ago, and the whole
- 12:38Speaker 3: building shut down when the tickets went on sale. Everyone's
- 12:41Speaker 3: at that computer, like, you know, banging away trying to
- 12:43Speaker 3: get tickets.
- 12:44Speaker 4: It was. It was pretty wild. Yeah, we'll be there. Unfortunately,
- 12:47Speaker 4: it seems like the weather's gonna be a little rainy
- 12:49Speaker 4: Saturday and Sunday, so we're supposed to go Saturday, so
- 12:51Speaker 4: we'll see how that'll come. I'm so glad I'm not going.
- 12:55Speaker 4: I kind of right now.
- 12:56Speaker 5: I'm happy.
- 12:56Speaker 4: I'm glad.
- 12:56Speaker 3: I'm not even somebody wants to and make me an
- 12:59Speaker 3: offer on two like, I don't even Like if if
- 13:02Speaker 3: Monday they said this was the most amazing concert I've
- 13:06Speaker 3: ever seen, I'd be like, great, and I wouldn't be
- 13:09Speaker 3: I'd be bad at all.
- 13:10Speaker 5: I'd be happy about that because I got a lot
- 13:13Speaker 5: of people tickets for it, and I'd be happy that
- 13:16Speaker 5: they all enjoyed it.
- 13:17Speaker 3: Yeah, but I'm just like, no matter what happens, I'm
- 13:21Speaker 3: okay with having not been there. Yeah, I don't know.
- 13:24Speaker 4: And that's what Like Lanne looked at me last night
- 13:26Speaker 4: and she was like, do you think we're gonna stay
- 13:28Speaker 4: for the whole thing?
- 13:29Speaker 5: Like that's where we're going right now, like like Alex
- 13:32Speaker 5: was talking to talk, but it's like a four hour
- 13:34Speaker 5: set that like forty four songs, Like, yeah, I don't
- 13:38Speaker 5: know if I would mean you know me, I don't.
- 13:40Speaker 5: I'm not a big concert guy, but I don't know
- 13:41Speaker 5: if i'd want to see you Earth Winning Fire for
- 13:42Speaker 5: forty four songs?
- 13:44Speaker 4: Well do they have forty four?
- 13:45Speaker 5: Of course they do.
- 13:46Speaker 4: Okay, what if they just play September over and over again? Yeah?
- 13:48Speaker 3: No, listen, that's not my favorite. No, it's like back
- 13:51Speaker 3: in the day, if it was a band that I
- 13:52Speaker 3: was really into, i'd appreciate the effort.
- 13:55Speaker 5: You know, Yeah, I I you know, I always you
- 13:58Speaker 5: do want to see that.
- 13:59Speaker 3: I want to see as much, you know, as long
- 14:01Speaker 3: as it's not like, oh, here's my new album I'm
- 14:05Speaker 3: working on.
- 14:07Speaker 9: That.
- 14:08Speaker 4: No one's interesting, right is he play the hits?
- 14:10Speaker 3: Keep going, keep going?
- 14:12Speaker 4: Yeah, you're probably I think, like I look back. I
- 14:15Speaker 4: like my dream with you if you could go back
- 14:16Speaker 4: in time to see like led Zeppelin at the height
- 14:19Speaker 4: of their you know, awesomeness in the mid seventies that
- 14:21Speaker 4: you know, like Boston Garden or Addison Square Guard. You know, like,
- 14:24Speaker 4: if I could go back and see one concert like
- 14:26Speaker 4: that would be what it is now. I assume now
- 14:29Speaker 4: this is what this generation is all going to. Oh
- 14:31Speaker 4: we could have just gone back to see Taylor Swift
- 14:33Speaker 4: on the Erastor. I mean, oh, it's so sad though
- 14:35Speaker 4: that it has to be so core. What's the best?
- 14:37Speaker 3: Is that the best concert you ever saw?
- 14:38Speaker 4: I never saw. I never saw that. He said, if
- 14:41Speaker 4: you could, but if I could go to one, that
- 14:43Speaker 4: would have been.
- 14:45Speaker 10: But what it was?
- 14:45Speaker 3: Yeah, but best concert, best best concert experience I ever had.
- 14:49Speaker 3: It was in Florida at the Tangerine Bowl. I don't
- 14:52Speaker 3: even know there anymore.
- 14:54Speaker 5: That's I think it's the old it was.
- 14:56Speaker 3: The opening act was Van Halen and they opened for
- 14:59Speaker 3: the Rolling Stones and it was it.
- 15:02Speaker 4: Was the best. This is like eighty two, why you're
- 15:09Speaker 4: still yeah? Start me up albums? That Stones that's good
- 15:14Speaker 4: and Halen.
- 15:14Speaker 3: They had the strain that the Jagger got on and
- 15:17Speaker 3: it you know, brought them out over the stadium and
- 15:19Speaker 3: in between the bands, in between the acts, there was
- 15:23Speaker 3: the biggest garbage war you've ever seen. Like the people
- 15:26Speaker 3: in the stands thrown garbage at the people at the
- 15:29Speaker 3: on the field and thrown it.
- 15:30Speaker 4: It was like.
- 15:32Speaker 3: You know, something out of like.
- 15:34Speaker 4: You know, a war movie. You know.
- 15:36Speaker 3: Oh, it was so fun.
- 15:37Speaker 4: It was so fun. That was Hale and Rolling Stones, though,
- 15:39Speaker 4: I mean that's David.
- 15:40Speaker 3: It was actually a band before Van Halen that I
- 15:43Speaker 3: think was a good band, but I forget who they were,
- 15:46Speaker 3: but it was, you know, David Lee Raw it was
- 15:48Speaker 3: you know, yeah, yeah, it was great.
- 15:50Speaker 4: I mean I haven't seen a ton of co Ones,
- 15:52Speaker 4: but one Lane always talks about she saw Rage against
- 15:54Speaker 4: the Machine and Pearl Jam at like a small place
- 15:56Speaker 4: before either one was big and Raging against the threw
- 16:01Speaker 4: like demo tapes out and so she has like still
- 16:03Speaker 4: has this like Rage against the Machine demo tape that
- 16:05Speaker 4: I've talked to Hardy about it. He's a big, like
- 16:07Speaker 4: a music I a cassette tape and they had gone
- 16:10Speaker 4: through and taped a match to you know, it's very them.
- 16:12Speaker 4: But but to see Pearl Jam too, and you know,
- 16:14Speaker 4: a small place like that before it had even you know,
- 16:17Speaker 4: taken off for them. That was That was a cool one.
- 16:19Speaker 4: But I saw a few concerts in LA, like the
- 16:21Speaker 4: Greek Theater is awesome, Like I just love the venue.
- 16:24Speaker 4: You're outside, you're kind of up in the hills and yeah,
- 16:27Speaker 4: I saw White Stripes there a couple of bands that were,
- 16:29Speaker 4: you know, cool spot.
- 16:30Speaker 3: I saw B fifty two's and a little club before
- 16:34Speaker 3: they were Big Rocks. That was awesome. And I was
- 16:36Speaker 3: sitting on the floor just in front of them, just
- 16:39Speaker 3: and this woman just literally sat on my head. She
- 16:42Speaker 3: thought I was sorry the concert, Yeah she was so
- 16:46Speaker 3: I don't know, I don't know what what she was on,
- 16:49Speaker 3: but she thought I was your hair. She thought I
- 16:52Speaker 3: was a chair and sat.
- 16:53Speaker 4: On my head. You do run into some of those
- 16:55Speaker 4: crazy concert folk. I remember being at a show for
- 16:57Speaker 4: Toad the Wet Spock of the House of Blues and
- 16:59Speaker 4: some like Mega Girl, old fan of Total Works like
- 17:01Speaker 4: ran up to me said can you believe we're here?
- 17:03Speaker 4: And I'm like, I'm not that big of a fan,
- 17:04Speaker 4: like I'm just here. You know, you always the crazy
- 17:06Speaker 4: fans are always out there, so happy to be there.
- 17:08Speaker 4: And you know, I feel bad, like I feel bad
- 17:10Speaker 4: now even I'm sure there are people out there dying
- 17:11Speaker 4: to go to this concert, and I'm like.
- 17:13Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, it's the thought of just being with you know,
- 17:17Speaker 3: seventy thousand people all matched in and everything. It just
- 17:20Speaker 3: doesn't appeal to me anymore.
- 17:22Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean it used to, but not not. But
- 17:24Speaker 4: in the rain, yeah even less about like midnight.
- 17:28Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, now I'm dying, call in, callin, make me
- 17:32Speaker 3: an offer, two tickets all right, eight five five pats
- 17:37Speaker 3: five hundred dight ticket out line. We got emails coming in,
- 17:39Speaker 3: anything else that we want to get to before we
- 17:42Speaker 3: get to the listeners.
- 17:43Speaker 4: I think we're just kind of I don't think there's
- 17:45Speaker 4: really any anything patriotsy going on. In the last couple
- 17:48Speaker 4: of days.
- 17:48Speaker 3: To bring up, a lot of people were making fun of, well,
- 17:53Speaker 3: a lot of people, Paul's Paul were making fun of
- 17:56Speaker 3: Riley Reef yesterday for you know, talking about that what
- 18:00Speaker 3: keeps you going? And he said of ring And then
- 18:02Speaker 3: the follow up I think it was Mike, So.
- 18:04Speaker 5: Mike asked him why what keeps him going? And then
- 18:07Speaker 5: Phil Perry's why here, which I thought was way on
- 18:11Speaker 5: a character.
- 18:12Speaker 3: Yeah, and so you know, he kind of hemmed in
- 18:14Speaker 3: hot after that. I felt bad for him, you know,
- 18:16Speaker 3: but I can understand, like, you still want to win
- 18:18Speaker 3: a championship, okay, but you also have to be on
- 18:22Speaker 3: a team to win a championship. And probably the Patriots
- 18:25Speaker 3: offered him more than any other team.
- 18:27Speaker 5: And I do think that I did hear that they
- 18:31Speaker 5: had fun with it. I don't think that they were
- 18:32Speaker 5: necessarily killing him. And Mike Felger even said, you can
- 18:37Speaker 5: sort of understand and and be sympathetic because you know
- 18:40Speaker 5: that these guys come in and all they have in
- 18:43Speaker 5: their head is Bill telling them, don't anything, you know
- 18:47Speaker 5: the rules, and you know they're like, well that's a
- 18:50Speaker 5: good team. Oh wait a minute, Like like you don't
- 18:53Speaker 5: want to like Kendrick Bourne flat out said, they gave
- 18:57Speaker 5: me more money than everybody else. You don't want to
- 18:59Speaker 5: be that guy. Yeah, right right, And Fred's probably right.
- 19:03Speaker 5: That probably was the biggest reason. The biggest factor is
- 19:07Speaker 5: he probably didn't have a ton We didn't have a
- 19:09Speaker 5: ton of options. Yeah, and you got a pretty lucrat.
- 19:12Speaker 4: It wasn't like I was picking between Kansas City, the
- 19:15Speaker 4: Buffalo and the Patriots.
- 19:17Speaker 3: Like this is the Riley Reef bitting War.
- 19:18Speaker 4: I doubt team. You know, we're interested in them, Listen.
- 19:21Speaker 3: I just I want a guy who wants to win
- 19:24Speaker 3: a championship, and that's why he's going to keep playing
- 19:27Speaker 3: hopefully until he But.
- 19:28Speaker 5: I think he got to the reason, Yeah I follow,
- 19:30Speaker 5: I know, which was he just wants to keep just
- 19:33Speaker 5: want to keep playing it, just like the passion.
- 19:36Speaker 11: Yeah.
- 19:37Speaker 4: So see if it lasts into August.
- 19:38Speaker 3: Yeah, no, you know you can't win. If you can't win, no, no, yeah.
- 19:42Speaker 4: They'll get you. Yeah, guy, I'm curious if from from
- 19:45Speaker 4: Calvin Anderson today. Kind of an interesting story where he
- 19:48Speaker 4: was here in twenty nineteen and played a couple of
- 19:50Speaker 4: years in Denver and now was back.
- 19:51Speaker 3: So yeah, yeah, I'll give you a little back, a
- 19:55Speaker 3: little behind the scenes stuff. We there's a guy to him,
- 20:00Speaker 3: Andre Norman. Look him up. He's like a motivational speaker,
- 20:04Speaker 3: spent time in jail, came out and one of those
- 20:06Speaker 3: guys who completely turned his life around, and you know,
- 20:10Speaker 3: really he's just this amazing inspirational.
- 20:13Speaker 4: Type of guy.
- 20:15Speaker 3: And we sat him down with five players individual you know,
- 20:20Speaker 3: extended talks with him and we're going to release those
- 20:24Speaker 3: as five separate podcasts down the road, just something to
- 20:29Speaker 3: look forward to, you know, in the meantime, if you
- 20:32Speaker 3: want to look up who Andre Norman is, do that.
- 20:36Speaker 3: But our players opened up with him like we've never heard.
- 20:40Speaker 4: Before, like all personal stuff, real personal stuff.
- 20:43Speaker 3: Yeah it's not football, it's their life, so you know,
- 20:47Speaker 3: something to look forward to.
- 20:48Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, what kind of like air? I mean, is
- 20:51Speaker 4: it about kind of just getting your life on track.
- 20:52Speaker 3: Each player had a different kind of theme. It's what
- 20:55Speaker 3: was important to him. So you know, Bentley was there
- 20:58Speaker 3: talking about you know, growing up not really having a home. Uh,
- 21:03Speaker 3: you know, a Slater was there talking about his faith
- 21:05Speaker 3: but you know, really getting in depth about it. Devin
- 21:09Speaker 3: mccordy was another guy. So we had five different players
- 21:12Speaker 3: sit with him for five separate discussions. And I think
- 21:17Speaker 3: it's gonna be really worth a listen. You're gonna hear
- 21:20Speaker 3: from these guys like you've never heard from them before.
- 21:22Speaker 4: Yeah, as people, as people behind the scenes. Yeah, like
- 21:26Speaker 4: you know what they're really about. Yeah, it's good.
- 21:29Speaker 5: And we did drop the first part of the Scott
- 21:31Speaker 5: Pioli oh yeah, Pats from Pats from the Past.
- 21:34Speaker 3: Yeah, so no socks and Paul sat down with Scott Paoli.
- 21:38Speaker 5: For how long it was long? Yeah, it was like
- 21:40Speaker 5: twice the size of twice.
- 21:42Speaker 4: Eighty five minutes, so usually are about forty forty five minutes.
- 21:46Speaker 3: And it was in person.
- 21:47Speaker 5: He was here, Yeah, and he he was good. I
- 21:50Speaker 5: thought he had some interesting perspective. And it wasn't like
- 21:55Speaker 5: normally when we talked to the guys, you know, there's
- 21:57Speaker 5: a lot of you know, we get into what they're
- 21:58Speaker 5: doing and what they've been up to and some of
- 22:00Speaker 5: their memories, and then we sort of talk about some
- 22:02Speaker 5: of their favorite memories, you know, their favorite team or
- 22:05Speaker 5: their favorite you know, favorite teammates, and then you know,
- 22:08Speaker 5: toughest guys to go against those kinds of questions. But
- 22:11Speaker 5: with Scott it was a little different in that he
- 22:14Speaker 5: sort of talked about the mentality that they had and
- 22:18Speaker 5: just sort of how much pressure mounted with the winning.
- 22:22Speaker 5: He actually said the two thousand and seven season was
- 22:26Speaker 5: not enjoyable in any way. M like and he said,
- 22:30Speaker 5: and this was before the one you know, joined the eighteen.
- 22:33Speaker 5: It was just such a grind. The way he talked
- 22:37Speaker 5: about it, unbelievable reverence for the three to four combination
- 22:41Speaker 5: was really really talked a lot about just how good
- 22:45Speaker 5: the players were and how he doesn't think even now
- 22:49Speaker 5: other players get as much respect and do as they should.
- 22:54Speaker 3: Have those players.
- 22:56Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, and he talked a lot about you know
- 22:58Speaker 5: him and Bill and know this. You don't give it away.
- 23:01Speaker 5: It's a great dynamic. No, just giving you the bullet point. Fred,
- 23:04Speaker 5: it's ninety minutes. I couldn't give it away if I
- 23:05Speaker 5: wanted to.
- 23:06Speaker 4: Did he have any insight onto your baseball career?
- 23:09Speaker 5: We actually started with that.
- 23:12Speaker 3: Yeah, Paul gave up how many home runs to him?
- 23:15Speaker 5: No, I'm only kidding, only not to him, but what
- 23:18Speaker 5: with him in attendance. Yeah, one legendary home run that
- 23:21Speaker 5: may still be going.
- 23:22Speaker 3: Pioli used to call Paul longball Paul.
- 23:24Speaker 5: Correct in front of the entire I mean, I've told
- 23:26Speaker 5: this story.
- 23:27Speaker 4: Paul told me that when I first started working here,
- 23:28Speaker 4: and then like two weeks later, Poli's there and confirming
- 23:31Speaker 4: the whole story. I'm not that I didn't believe Paul,
- 23:33Speaker 4: but you know, it's just funny. All of a sudden,
- 23:34Speaker 4: there's Pioli being like longball Paul.
- 23:36Speaker 3: There he is, so that'll be good. That's part of
- 23:39Speaker 3: the Pats from the Past podcast.
- 23:41Speaker 4: Excited. That's what number forty.
- 23:43Speaker 3: Two or something like that that we've done.
- 23:45Speaker 5: Wow.
- 23:45Speaker 4: Yeah, that's an intriguing one for me. I'm excited to
- 23:47Speaker 4: listen to it.
- 23:48Speaker 5: It's different, it's a little different. It is, like I said,
- 23:50Speaker 5: it is long, so it probably want to do it
- 23:53Speaker 5: in a couple of different sittings.
- 23:54Speaker 4: I mean, I felt like the seven season was exhausted,
- 23:57Speaker 4: Like I mean, it's obvious that he puts it into
- 23:59Speaker 4: words like that, but it's just you could tell. I
- 24:01Speaker 4: mean by the time they got to the end, I
- 24:02Speaker 4: mean you could see it in early December, it was
- 24:04Speaker 4: like things were just kind of I don't want to
- 24:06Speaker 4: talk about it's.
- 24:07Speaker 5: A lot about it in just if like if you're
- 24:09Speaker 5: looking for a trip down memory lane from those teams,
- 24:11Speaker 5: this isn't the podcast for you. This is more like
- 24:14Speaker 5: sort of the relationships and the personalities involved in a
- 24:18Speaker 5: lot of complicated stuff, you know, because obviously the way
- 24:20Speaker 5: he came here, in the circumstances, and people know that
- 24:24Speaker 5: Bill Parcells is his father in law, and you know
- 24:27Speaker 5: how he ended up, you know, sort of reconciling that
- 24:30Speaker 5: to to to join Bill Belichick. He talks a lot
- 24:33Speaker 5: about both Bills it's it's it's definitely worth a listening.
- 24:35Speaker 4: And he left after eight or oh seven, I think
- 24:38Speaker 4: it was after he.
- 24:40Speaker 5: Went he went the same year the Castle went to
- 24:42Speaker 5: Kansas City, right, that was, Oh, Nina, did he go.
- 24:44Speaker 3: With He went to Kansas City too? Right?
- 24:46Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 24:47Speaker 3: Yeah, and then he went to Downstown, Atlanta, Atlanta, right, sorry, yeah,
- 24:53Speaker 3: I'll never forget that. When he got hired in Atlanta,
- 24:57Speaker 3: they did a video. It was like he and Dimatrof
- 25:00Speaker 3: in the car and it's their first, you know, encounter.
- 25:04Speaker 3: So Demitruff you know, I guess, I don't know, could
- 25:06Speaker 3: have been staged, but Demitruff picks him up at the airport.
- 25:08Speaker 3: He gets in, they start talking and the first thing
- 25:11Speaker 3: Peoli says is We've got a lot of work to
- 25:12Speaker 3: do here. And I'm thinking to myself, Demititruf's thinking like,
- 25:16Speaker 3: who are you telling me that we have a lot
- 25:18Speaker 3: of work to do here? You know, I just thought
- 25:20Speaker 3: that was kind of weird.
- 25:22Speaker 4: And then that was it. Now is he enjoying last question?
- 25:25Speaker 5: I think he'd happy to be the you know, I
- 25:27Speaker 5: think he does enjoy his role. I think that, you know,
- 25:30Speaker 5: he talks a little bit about that too, like how
- 25:33Speaker 5: when NFL Network approached him to do some of this stuff,
- 25:36Speaker 5: what his reactions were and things like that. So it covers, obviously,
- 25:40Speaker 5: with that amount of time, it covers a lot. And
- 25:42Speaker 5: that's why Matt Morell did a great job of just
- 25:44Speaker 5: sort of breaking it up a little bit so you
- 25:46Speaker 5: don't have to invest your It's not like you have
- 25:50Speaker 5: sensitivity training and you need to devote a whole month
- 25:52Speaker 5: to watching the videos.
- 25:54Speaker 3: A good job, Matt. All right, let's get to some
- 25:56Speaker 3: of these phone calls. At eight five to five pats
- 25:58Speaker 3: five hundred, Melvin in Tennessee, what's up?
- 26:01Speaker 4: Melvin?
- 26:03Speaker 12: I was going on, Hey, I don't have nothing today,
- 26:08Speaker 12: but that two questions. Number one, do you feel like
- 26:11Speaker 12: the Jalen Brown could be more of a number two option?
- 26:14Speaker 12: That do you feel like just he should just stick
- 26:17Speaker 12: of that role kind of being the rolin or if
- 26:19Speaker 12: you've seen things forge.
- 26:20Speaker 5: Well, I think he wants to be a number one option, right, Yeah,
- 26:22Speaker 5: I think he's going to leave but when he can.
- 26:26Speaker 3: If he doesn't get a better handle on the ball, though,
- 26:29Speaker 3: it's going to limit his ability. He just he just
- 26:32Speaker 3: he just throws the ball or hits his knee or
- 26:35Speaker 3: he's just too loose with the ball, too loose with
- 26:38Speaker 3: the ball.
- 26:40Speaker 5: But I think he could be the number one on
- 26:42Speaker 5: a good team. I don't think he could be the
- 26:44Speaker 5: number one on a great team.
- 26:46Speaker 7: Yeah, gotcha.
- 26:47Speaker 5: I like Jen as a.
- 26:49Speaker 12: Player, Yeah, me too. I think he's a good player.
- 26:51Speaker 7: He just I don't know.
- 26:52Speaker 12: I thought he can be kind of streaky at times. Yeah,
- 26:54Speaker 12: I really like him as a player. They both can
- 26:57Speaker 12: do that, but my more so prayer. I'm entering your answer.
- 27:02Speaker 12: But when you go when you go back and watch
- 27:04Speaker 12: things like john Wick and Creed or stuff like that,
- 27:08Speaker 12: do you have to rewatch the previous ones? Because my
- 27:11Speaker 12: brain's not that sharp, so I I.
- 27:15Speaker 3: You know, for I've never seen Creed so but with
- 27:18Speaker 3: john Wick I didn't have to, you know. I just
- 27:23Speaker 3: saw john Wick four. By the way, I was literally
- 27:27Speaker 3: the only person in the theater. I had the whole
- 27:29Speaker 3: theater to myself. I've never had that experience.
- 27:31Speaker 4: It was great.
- 27:32Speaker 5: You had what you were like single, like literally one
- 27:36Speaker 5: in the middle of.
- 27:36Speaker 3: A three thirty mattinee at the Alex Theater.
- 27:40Speaker 4: No I call it the Alex.
- 27:41Speaker 3: It's a little uh movie theater in Sandwich, mass The
- 27:46Speaker 3: only person in that show I had the whole play
- 27:49Speaker 3: a little disappointed. I really liked the john Wick series,
- 27:52Speaker 3: but this fourth one I thought there wasn't a lot
- 27:55Speaker 3: of thought.
- 27:55Speaker 4: Put to it.
- 27:56Speaker 3: I thought, like the explosions, the action scenes were amazed,
- 28:00Speaker 3: but like you know, there wasn't a lot of.
- 28:03Speaker 5: I haven't seen the most recent Creed. I saw the others,
- 28:08Speaker 5: and I don't think that you necessarily need to watch
- 28:10Speaker 5: them chronologically.
- 28:11Speaker 3: Usually fine, you know, the way the story the movie
- 28:14Speaker 3: makers make it, they make it so that, like if
- 28:16Speaker 3: you haven't seen all of them, you're not going to
- 28:18Speaker 3: be totally lost.
- 28:20Speaker 5: It certainly helps to see them in order.
- 28:22Speaker 3: Yeah, but you know, I don't know, why do you ask, Melvin.
- 28:27Speaker 12: I just I'm going to see john Wick for today,
- 28:29Speaker 12: but I have to rewatched the other one, and I
- 28:32Speaker 12: saw the recent Creed. I have to rewatch everything just
- 28:34Speaker 12: because I don't remember things that in details. I have
- 28:38Speaker 12: to rewatch be fresh on my brain.
- 28:40Speaker 3: That's cool, box, All right, thanks Melvin.
- 28:46Speaker 4: Let's get to Shane in New Hampshire. What's up Shane?
- 28:51Speaker 13: Hey, guys, first time, long times. Just wanted to call
- 28:54Speaker 13: in today. Just can't say that I feel like that
- 28:58Speaker 13: might be the only optimist face in here. I think
- 29:03Speaker 13: with the additions on the defense, we're gonna be able
- 29:06Speaker 13: to switch to a four to three, have those faster,
- 29:09Speaker 13: speedier guys. Sorry, I was just climbing up a lot
- 29:12Speaker 13: of stairs. Okay, yeah, spread the field. I have a
- 29:17Speaker 13: bunch of people out taking the ball off the guys.
- 29:21Speaker 13: I think, yeah, we're gonna get a lot of more
- 29:24Speaker 13: auditions on offense just based off having Bob. I mean,
- 29:28Speaker 13: how many times do you see Mac turn the wrong
- 29:30Speaker 13: way in college his first year? Like all those failings
- 29:34Speaker 13: in the offense, I feel like we're on the coaching
- 29:37Speaker 13: I think an upgraded coaching staff's going to help everyone tremendously.
- 29:40Speaker 3: Thanks guys, Okay, thanks listen.
- 29:42Speaker 4: I you know a lot of people are.
- 29:44Speaker 5: Not interested in your response, Mike, you look like you
- 29:46Speaker 5: were poisoned.
- 29:46Speaker 4: Ready.
- 29:47Speaker 3: A lot of people are very optimistic about that front seven.
- 29:52Speaker 3: You know, I'm not even mentioning Christian Gonzales because but
- 29:55Speaker 3: if bar More can live up to his potential and
- 29:58Speaker 3: this guy that they rafted this year, Keon white At,
- 30:03Speaker 3: you know, you add those to the mix, they could
- 30:06Speaker 3: have a really good front seven, you know, and that
- 30:10Speaker 3: might just keep them in games. Who knows it might
- 30:13Speaker 3: help against these mobile quarterbacks that have killed them in
- 30:15Speaker 3: the past. You know, maybe it's the difference between winning
- 30:19Speaker 3: and losing that Ravens game.
- 30:20Speaker 4: I don't know, Yeah, I mean I think they have to,
- 30:23Speaker 4: you know, I think that's the big part of it.
- 30:25Speaker 4: I Mean, I was for some reason just looking back
- 30:27Speaker 4: at the Super Bowl and it's, you know, you just
- 30:29Speaker 4: you need a team that can close games out. I think,
- 30:31Speaker 4: you know, everybody's gonna score these days. Like, I don't
- 30:33Speaker 4: think that there's really like, you know, to expect like
- 30:36Speaker 4: what we got from the early twenty nineteen team where
- 30:38Speaker 4: it's like they're only gonna give up fourteen points a game, Like,
- 30:40Speaker 4: I just don't think that's realistic anymore. And it's, you know,
- 30:42Speaker 4: more about can you just get that last stop, you know,
- 30:45Speaker 4: and do you have the pieces that can you know,
- 30:47Speaker 4: right at the end of the game make those big plays.
- 30:49Speaker 4: And I think that's what they were, you know, missing
- 30:51Speaker 4: a little bit last year. But I don't know, I'm
- 30:53Speaker 4: curious about the mccordy of it all too, and just
- 30:55Speaker 4: how does that absence play into you know, not just
- 30:59Speaker 4: the deep ball and the threat of the big plays
- 31:01Speaker 4: that I felt like he always kind of But you know,
- 31:02Speaker 4: is everybody on the same page, are they Are they
- 31:05Speaker 4: blowing coverages? You know, are guys just kind of freelancing
- 31:08Speaker 4: and doing their own thing. That's that's a question for
- 31:11Speaker 4: me without him on the back.
- 31:12Speaker 5: Yeah, And I agree with Mike in the way he
- 31:14Speaker 5: put it, Like I look at Philadelphia last year and
- 31:17Speaker 5: I thought Philadelphia's team was really balanced. I thought they
- 31:20Speaker 5: were very good on both sides of the ball, and
- 31:22Speaker 5: I think their front seven on defense is outstanding. And
- 31:25Speaker 5: I think during the balance of the season they played
- 31:29Speaker 5: at that level they were outstanding. Again, when push comes
- 31:32Speaker 5: to shove and you're in against those teams and you're
- 31:34Speaker 5: playing Kansas City, you're going to be hard pressed to
- 31:37Speaker 5: keep him under thirty. Yeah, And I just think that
- 31:41Speaker 5: if you don't have an offense. Now they had an
- 31:43Speaker 5: offense that could keep up. And it was a really
- 31:44Speaker 5: good Super Bowl that could have gone either way. What
- 31:46Speaker 5: was it final, like thirty eight thirty five something like that.
- 31:49Speaker 5: You know, that's I think that's the kind of game
- 31:51Speaker 5: that you need to win against that caliber of opponent.
- 31:54Speaker 5: They can hold plenty of teams to fourteen points.
- 31:56Speaker 4: The Patriots, I.
- 31:57Speaker 5: Know they can. I've seen it the last several years.
- 32:00Speaker 5: I've seen them, you know, do it to Cleveland and
- 32:03Speaker 5: and and teams like that in the Jets in the past.
- 32:06Speaker 5: Now that I think the Jets will be different now
- 32:09Speaker 5: and I agree with Mike. I think more often than
- 32:12Speaker 5: not in those big games, you got to find a
- 32:13Speaker 5: way to score. I do think the offense will be better,
- 32:16Speaker 5: like Shane said with Bill O'Brien, but we'll have to
- 32:19Speaker 5: see how much better.
- 32:20Speaker 4: Yeah, not bad enough, like to still feel like I
- 32:22Speaker 4: feel like the defense needs to really, you know, carry it.
- 32:25Speaker 4: Not to say that he has to carry the team,
- 32:27Speaker 4: but they gotta. They got to continue with the takeaways
- 32:30Speaker 4: and those things that have really powered them, you know
- 32:32Speaker 4: over the last few years.
- 32:33Speaker 3: Let's go to uh, Chris with a T I A
- 32:36Speaker 3: and in Boston he heard us talking about movies, so
- 32:39Speaker 3: he had a call right.
- 32:41Speaker 14: Of absolutely right in my wheelhouse. Yeah, I'm glad. I'm
- 32:47Speaker 14: glad you went to see John Wick for I'm kind
- 32:49Speaker 14: of debating on whether or not there.
- 32:52Speaker 3: Yeah, it sounds like.
- 32:53Speaker 7: I guess I can wait.
- 32:54Speaker 5: Well, you could rap out a theater by yourself, like
- 32:56Speaker 5: I think they I think you can you can buy
- 32:58Speaker 5: it on demand or I don't know if Yeah, but
- 33:00Speaker 5: it's going to be soon.
- 33:02Speaker 3: If you don't want to go to the theater, I
- 33:03Speaker 3: mean I would go see it. If you've if you've
- 33:05Speaker 3: seen them all, you got to go see it.
- 33:07Speaker 14: Oh yeah, yeah, okay, all right, yea, I love them
- 33:09Speaker 14: all so.
- 33:11Speaker 7: Well?
- 33:12Speaker 14: Did he did? He only do the whole interview with
- 33:14Speaker 14: his chest out?
- 33:16Speaker 5: Yeah that was an andyism, but yes, yes, now he
- 33:19Speaker 5: he seemed like he had a great time. He sent
- 33:21Speaker 5: me a text this morning because he saw that we
- 33:24Speaker 5: we had dropped the first part of the of the podcast.
- 33:28Speaker 5: So yeah, he seemed like he had a really good time.
- 33:30Speaker 5: And I hope hopefully we can get him around uh
- 33:33Speaker 5: in the future for something if we need him.
- 33:35Speaker 7: Yeah, yeah, that's cool.
- 33:36Speaker 14: I'm looking forward to hearing that. I had a question
- 33:40Speaker 14: about Jalen Mills and what you guys thoughts were about
- 33:43Speaker 14: him playing safety and might have just brought up the
- 33:45Speaker 14: absence of mc cordy. You think Mills will be able
- 33:47Speaker 14: to fill that spot with a couple of years in
- 33:51Speaker 14: the system now or is it going to be somebody else?
- 33:54Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 33:55Speaker 5: I think you will play safe.
- 33:57Speaker 4: I don't know both. I think they might try him there.
- 34:00Speaker 4: I don't know. I don't know if I really have
- 34:01Speaker 4: confidence in that whole situation. I don't, you know. I,
- 34:04Speaker 4: like I said, I think it's going to be not
- 34:06Speaker 4: just Mills, but I think Jonathan Jones is going to
- 34:08Speaker 4: be kind of part of that free safety makes and
- 34:10Speaker 4: I think Myles Bryant is probably you know, going to
- 34:12Speaker 4: be part of it.
- 34:13Speaker 5: But I don't know.
- 34:14Speaker 4: I just I am having trouble seeing like all right,
- 34:16Speaker 4: and now Jalen Mills is just our free safety full time,
- 34:18Speaker 4: Like I don't know, It's just I have to see
- 34:20Speaker 4: it out there, like all right. He seems like they're
- 34:22Speaker 4: every down, he's getting guys lined up, he's back there
- 34:24Speaker 4: making the calls and stuff like I have to see it.
- 34:26Speaker 4: I don't know. I don't think it's gonna be handed
- 34:28Speaker 4: it to him, for sure.
- 34:29Speaker 5: I think you're right.
- 34:29Speaker 4: I think that.
- 34:32Speaker 5: And I've talked about McCody a lot over the years,
- 34:34Speaker 5: and I don't necessarily think his value was strictly as
- 34:37Speaker 5: a player, you know, I think he's a good free safety,
- 34:40Speaker 5: but I think his value is that you very rarely
- 34:43Speaker 5: see the Patriots completely out of position, and I think
- 34:46Speaker 5: he's a big part of that.
- 34:47Speaker 3: Yeah, Williams and Felim. What's up william Oh? Shoot, hello,
- 34:54Speaker 3: all right, yeah, we interrupt something.
- 34:58Speaker 15: No, I'm gonna make yall personal. Write button on your phone.
- 35:01Speaker 16: That's all.
- 35:02Speaker 4: Okay.
- 35:04Speaker 7: How y'all doing first long but doing good?
- 35:06Speaker 4: Very good?
- 35:07Speaker 7: Okay, all right.
- 35:09Speaker 15: I listened to y'all Tuesday, and I wish Evan was
- 35:13Speaker 15: being though because I would get on him a little bit.
- 35:15Speaker 15: But I'm gonna let him.
- 35:16Speaker 7: Be, okay.
- 35:19Speaker 15: So no, okay, I just want to talk with just
- 35:22Speaker 15: a little bit about the malite Cunningham situation. Look, I'm
- 35:24Speaker 15: not saying that he's Lamar Jackson, but you can see
- 35:28Speaker 15: a little feature in him in terms of him being
- 35:31Speaker 15: mobile than him and seeping up and seeping out, the
- 35:33Speaker 15: poking and stuff. So I mean, I think that's what
- 35:36Speaker 15: Picture is saying.
- 35:37Speaker 12: To a little bit hyper about that.
- 35:38Speaker 7: But you know that that we ain't had.
- 35:40Speaker 15: Nothing like that, like that younger version. Oh. I don't
- 35:44Speaker 15: want to say Cam Newton. I don't want to say
- 35:45Speaker 15: that because he's undrafted, you know, I don't want to
- 35:47Speaker 15: go there and nowhere near that level.
- 35:49Speaker 4: But I mean.
- 35:51Speaker 12: I see, I just see it a little bit there.
- 35:53Speaker 15: And he he can do things that Mac and Billy
- 35:58Speaker 15: Danky Tanton.
- 35:59Speaker 12: You know what I mean?
- 36:00Speaker 5: Yeah, I agree with it will be a.
- 36:02Speaker 12: Hype about for guy.
- 36:03Speaker 7: I mean, you know that's it.
- 36:05Speaker 15: I'm not saying he's Lamar Jens. I would never even
- 36:08Speaker 15: go to his carero, but certain things. Twenty is twenty
- 36:11Speaker 15: forty one season. He had a little bit of grips
- 36:14Speaker 15: to something. So I'm not gonna I'm not gonna cast
- 36:17Speaker 15: them off. But look at we had jac Jackson undrafted,
- 36:20Speaker 15: we have Jakobe Myers undrafted. I'm not saying that is
- 36:24Speaker 15: gonna be something, but hey man Bill saw something in him.
- 36:28Speaker 3: No, so yeah, no, listen, who knows, no one, who knows?
- 36:32Speaker 3: Who am I to say? You know, knowing this person
- 36:36Speaker 3: has no shot at doing it?
- 36:37Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 36:39Speaker 5: I don't think anybody says but no shot of doing it.
- 36:41Speaker 4: But I mean, you know, thirty two teams decided not
- 36:44Speaker 4: to draft him, right, Yeah, But I don't think anybody
- 36:49Speaker 4: says he has no shot to do him.
- 36:51Speaker 15: No.
- 36:51Speaker 3: I think some people are really poo pooing.
- 36:53Speaker 4: He has an elite skill set. He can run, Yeah,
- 36:57Speaker 4: he can't pass something.
- 37:01Speaker 15: That's just crazy about my last take and I have
- 37:04Speaker 15: one more taking that shit I am so worried about
- 37:06Speaker 15: this schedule and it's rough. I mean its Dogrea and
- 37:12Speaker 15: Mann talked about it. You know, what's his name, Greg
- 37:16Speaker 15: Barnard and Phil I mean, I don't.
- 37:21Speaker 3: Know when you're worried about your offense. Every schedule is
- 37:25Speaker 3: tough in the NFL, you know, like I back in
- 37:28Speaker 3: twenty fourteen or two thousand and seven, I don't know
- 37:30Speaker 3: if this would be a tough that tough schedule, but
- 37:32Speaker 3: now it is. You know, the Patriots have no gimmeis
- 37:35Speaker 3: no pencils in wins anymore? Thanks William.
- 37:39Speaker 4: Yeah, I find myself wondering that sometimes of like what
- 37:41Speaker 4: if this was the seven preseason, Like how would I
- 37:44Speaker 4: look at this schedule, you know, just just for a
- 37:46Speaker 4: little thought game. You know, it's definitely different different, But
- 37:50Speaker 4: I was I was just saying, Cunningham, I don't think
- 37:51Speaker 4: I've been here for four quarterbacks before, and I just
- 37:54Speaker 4: I'm curious how that gets divided up? Does the fourth
- 37:58Speaker 4: guy get reps? Like, you know, I don't talking about camp.
- 38:01Speaker 4: My guess is you won't have fourign camp. That'd be
- 38:04Speaker 4: my guess, but we'll see by the time training camp
- 38:08Speaker 4: comes around. My guess is that Trace mcsoley will be gone.
- 38:12Speaker 3: Brady was here for four quarterbacks.
- 38:14Speaker 5: Yeah, yes, yeah, I just but there have been time
- 38:18Speaker 5: like uh, I'll give you some some deep cuts, you know,
- 38:23Speaker 5: like the Todd Mortenson era, like they they they may
- 38:27Speaker 5: have had times where they actually had four quarterbacks in
- 38:30Speaker 5: uniform on on the practice field, even in training camp.
- 38:34Speaker 5: My guess is you won't see that now. Maybe because
- 38:37Speaker 5: Cunningham's skill set is so different, they might work with
- 38:41Speaker 5: the other three. But I think if you have any
- 38:43Speaker 5: designs to to develop him, you need to let him
- 38:46Speaker 5: get some reps.
- 38:47Speaker 3: I think they come up with a Marcus Jones, Malie Cunningham,
- 38:51Speaker 3: Tyreek Thornton, and one other package Douglas.
- 38:55Speaker 4: Lot of speed.
- 38:57Speaker 5: Douglas is supposed to be just like Marcus Jones.
- 38:59Speaker 4: I can you question Paul And I'm not I'm not
- 39:01Speaker 4: doing this to to to trigger you, no, but I'm
- 39:04Speaker 4: really I'm genuinely cursed because a lot of people made
- 39:06Speaker 4: a big deal out about how much money they gave
- 39:08Speaker 4: Molie Cunningham. And I know that you're usually kind of
- 39:11Speaker 4: on that, but do you, I mean, do you put
- 39:13Speaker 4: anything into that at all? Of that It's it's just
- 39:15Speaker 4: a number or how did they end up there? You know,
- 39:18Speaker 4: I think was there some kind of competition for him?
- 39:20Speaker 4: My guess is there was some competition for him.
- 39:21Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, I heard he was the highest, you know,
- 39:25Speaker 3: the most sought after undrafted person.
- 39:28Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 39:28Speaker 5: Yeah, But I don't necessarily think that translates to anything afterwards.
- 39:31Speaker 5: And it's certainly not money that prohibits you from cutting him.
- 39:34Speaker 5: Let's say that. Yeah, let's say you bring him in
- 39:36Speaker 5: and you're like, this kid can't succeed, you know, isn't it.
- 39:40Speaker 5: They'll cut him, you know, And it's a couple of
- 39:42Speaker 5: hundred thousand dollars. We're not talking about full million in
- 39:45Speaker 5: guaranteed money that Oh yeah, I guess think about that one.
- 39:48Speaker 4: I guess the disconnect is that a lot of fans
- 39:50Speaker 4: look at it that when they give an undrafted guy
- 39:52Speaker 4: a lot of money, they like the guy and they
- 39:55Speaker 4: really wanted him badly and they wanted you know, and
- 39:57Speaker 4: so I mean, maybe that's.
- 39:58Speaker 5: A little bit true, but I undrafted free agents or
- 40:02Speaker 5: you know, and it's funny that it's like Bill always says,
- 40:06Speaker 5: every guy is different, there's always case by case. But
- 40:09Speaker 5: I think sometimes we all and I say, we all
- 40:13Speaker 5: not fans I say we in the media, the fans, everybody,
- 40:17Speaker 5: sometimes we miss some of these details. With undrafted free agents,
- 40:23Speaker 5: they're in a pretty advantageous position sometimes because they can
- 40:29Speaker 5: turn down teams like the Patriots. To me, were a
- 40:34Speaker 5: good choice because it's kind of an unsettled quarterback situation.
- 40:39Speaker 5: So if I go there, I can I can win
- 40:42Speaker 5: a roster spot if I play, if I'm good enough,
- 40:44Speaker 5: if I'm as good as I think I am, if
- 40:47Speaker 5: I'm only Cunningham, the Patriots are a place I go.
- 40:49Speaker 5: I don't want to go to a place necessarily, like
- 40:53Speaker 5: you know, maybe.
- 40:56Speaker 13: You know.
- 40:59Speaker 5: Who's the best, you know, like maybe even Jacksonville or Cincinnati,
- 41:06Speaker 5: because they have a young, established guy who's going to
- 41:09Speaker 5: be the guy there for ten years, you know what
- 41:12Speaker 5: I mean. Even if it works for me there, I'm
- 41:14Speaker 5: gonna be blocked and I'm gonna have to go somewhere
- 41:17Speaker 5: else to learn another system. I think Malie Cunningham can say, yeah, well,
- 41:23Speaker 5: they want me, and they want me, and they want me,
- 41:26Speaker 5: you know, they want me right, So that's gonna up
- 41:30Speaker 5: my price. And I think as a quarterback with that
- 41:32Speaker 5: skill set, I'm not surprised to see that some teams
- 41:35Speaker 5: want now. He's small, He's like five to eleven, and
- 41:40Speaker 5: to me, the thing that people are missing Like they
- 41:42Speaker 5: both played at Louisville, Lamar Jackson and I like Malie Cunningham.
- 41:45Speaker 5: By the way, we talked about this a little bit
- 41:47Speaker 5: on Tuesday. I can't wait for the preseason games. You know,
- 41:50Speaker 5: I'll be in my Bob's Discount Furniture studios having a
- 41:53Speaker 5: much better time talking about Malie Cunningham playing in the
- 41:55Speaker 5: second half. No disrespect, I say it every time, love
- 41:58Speaker 5: you mean it, Brian then watching Brian Hoyer play in
- 42:01Speaker 5: the preseason games. Right, But this is a guy who's
- 42:04Speaker 5: gonna go out there. It's gonna be schoolyards sometimes, it's
- 42:06Speaker 5: gonna run around, and we're gonna see him learn. I'm
- 42:08Speaker 5: gonna see how much he can soak in. But there's
- 42:11Speaker 5: no comparison between the college career of Lamar Jackson at
- 42:14Speaker 5: Louisville and MALIEK. Cunningham at Louisville. Lamar Jackson was he
- 42:19Speaker 5: won the Heisman Trophy and probably could have won another one,
- 42:23Speaker 5: like as the best player in college football first round
- 42:27Speaker 5: draft pick, like all the same questions about does he
- 42:30Speaker 5: have to change positions that we were talking about Willie Cunningham,
- 42:33Speaker 5: but he went in the first round. You know what
- 42:35Speaker 5: I mean, Like, I don't think it's I don't think
- 42:38Speaker 5: it's even really close in terms of skill.
- 42:40Speaker 3: Sell one from Monterey, Mexico says, Fred, I completely disagree
- 42:46Speaker 3: with your review of John wick Ford gives a good
- 42:49Speaker 3: arc to John, but to each his own love the
- 42:51Speaker 3: show induced cash in on those Swift tickets. You'll be
- 42:55Speaker 3: able to get a house on Fred's in Fred's rich neighborhood.
- 43:00Speaker 17: Yeah.
- 43:01Speaker 4: I think we're gonna go, but I'll report back.
- 43:03Speaker 3: I think you're gonna go.
- 43:04Speaker 4: We're gonna go.
- 43:05Speaker 3: I think you're gonna know.
- 43:06Speaker 4: I'm I have to go. I'm more looking forward to
- 43:08Speaker 4: you're committed to my hanging out with my sister and
- 43:10Speaker 4: brother in law, who haven't you know, had an event
- 43:14Speaker 4: go out kind of thing with them for a while,
- 43:15Speaker 4: So it'll be fun.
- 43:17Speaker 3: Okay, Ramon and Tampa guys, I went all three nights
- 43:22Speaker 3: in Tampa to Taylor Swift, but I was truly amazed,
- 43:26Speaker 3: especially not knowing much about her. Swift in progress swiftly
- 43:31Speaker 3: in progress now, but her performance is three hours and
- 43:35Speaker 3: fifteen minute ish. It goes by quick and it's really
- 43:38Speaker 3: enjoyable onto football.
- 43:40Speaker 4: If you could choose.
- 43:41Speaker 3: One game from any sport past or hypothetical future to
- 43:44Speaker 3: share that experience where they close loved one, which game
- 43:48Speaker 3: would you like to be at, like a game where
- 43:52Speaker 3: like a particular game.
- 43:55Speaker 4: I mean, I guess that would have been cool to
- 43:56Speaker 4: be at super Bowl thirty six. I don't know, like
- 43:58Speaker 4: I don't know, Yeah, but I was as these games
- 44:02Speaker 4: we were at or that we we could be it
- 44:04Speaker 4: we could pick any game to go back to.
- 44:06Speaker 5: Yeah, and then I was interested like any sport.
- 44:09Speaker 3: Yeah, that's that's a tough one. That's a tough one.
- 44:12Speaker 5: I mean you could go there's a lot of ways
- 44:14Speaker 5: you go with that. You could do Mike's you know,
- 44:16Speaker 5: Mike's way, not to be confused with Jersey, Michael's Oil red.
- 44:21Speaker 5: Do you go with the significant you know, the historical
- 44:23Speaker 5: significance like super Bowl thirty six that started at all,
- 44:26Speaker 5: like that's where the dynasty began, right, right? So do
- 44:28Speaker 5: you go with something like that? Do you go to
- 44:30Speaker 5: the Kansas City AFC championship game in eighteen forty, which
- 44:34Speaker 5: was one of cold good absolutely, yeah good, that's a
- 44:37Speaker 5: good mark. Uh Again again, as you would say like that,
- 44:42Speaker 5: to me was one of the best games they ever saw. Now,
- 44:44Speaker 5: I always say this the O six AFC Championship game
- 44:48Speaker 5: in India when they pumped the flu into the Patriots
- 44:50Speaker 5: locker room.
- 44:50Speaker 4: That's right, shooters.
- 44:52Speaker 5: I know they lost, but that was one of the
- 44:54Speaker 5: most amazing sporting events I've ever been at.
- 44:56Speaker 3: It was a great game.
- 44:58Speaker 4: Yeah, I have to admit.
- 45:00Speaker 5: So there's a lot of different ways you can you
- 45:02Speaker 5: can look at do you go historical significant? I mean
- 45:04Speaker 5: just for like the Sheer game itself, like the Patriots
- 45:07Speaker 5: come back here in a regular season game against that
- 45:10Speaker 5: about what about great?
- 45:13Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 45:14Speaker 5: Ali Frasier, Yeah, Oh, there's a lot of different Russia.
- 45:19Speaker 5: Oh that's the best, now, Mike did it? Yeah?
- 45:24Speaker 3: Yeah, that's that's one where your head explodes.
- 45:26Speaker 4: Yeah. I was just I talked before about the San
- 45:29Speaker 4: Diego game in No. Six, but the week before I
- 45:32Speaker 4: was actually there.
- 45:34Speaker 5: Yeah, who got the goal on that with Wayne Turner.
- 45:37Speaker 3: The thing is, Paul was there.
- 45:38Speaker 4: I wasn't.
- 45:39Speaker 5: I wasn't there there. That was twelve. I could have
- 45:43Speaker 5: been there.
- 45:45Speaker 3: Let's see, l from Wisconsin. Paul is absolutely right. I
- 45:50Speaker 3: just want to say how right he is. There is
- 45:52Speaker 3: no place in Boston Sports for coach that acts like
- 45:55Speaker 3: he's never the problem, says the players didn't do things correctly.
- 45:59Speaker 3: I know what I Oh wait, you're talking about the Celtics.
- 46:02Speaker 3: Never mind.
- 46:05Speaker 5: Yeah, I don't think Bill creates strife in the I
- 46:10Speaker 5: saw where that was going right away. That was well done.
- 46:15Speaker 3: Let's see Brian and Ironand writes in hoping to meet
- 46:19Speaker 3: you all in Frankfurt at the Coats game. I'm trying
- 46:23Speaker 3: to book a hotel for the weekend, and I'm just curious.
- 46:25Speaker 3: Do you have any idea what part of the city
- 46:28Speaker 3: you'll be staying or where the fan events will be.
- 46:32Speaker 3: I'd love to meet y'all and buy you a beer
- 46:35Speaker 3: or five.
- 46:36Speaker 5: I don't know that it yet so last time I
- 46:40Speaker 5: went international.
- 46:41Speaker 3: But what you should do, anyone, anyone that wants information,
- 46:44Speaker 3: you should go to Patriots dot com slash Patriots Deutscheln
- 46:50Speaker 3: and sign up for the newsletter. And as we get information,
- 46:55Speaker 3: you'll get information.
- 46:56Speaker 4: So what are we thinking? Are we thinking like maybe
- 46:58Speaker 4: a PU show at the pub?
- 47:00Speaker 3: Oh, there's no doubt. It's perfect because when it's noon here,
- 47:04Speaker 3: it's six in the evening there. So we'll take over
- 47:06Speaker 3: a pub and we'll do a series of shows at
- 47:09Speaker 3: six p m. Just when the crowd's coming in, and
- 47:12Speaker 3: it'll be here at the same time as it always is.
- 47:18Speaker 5: Yeah, shovels in and get ready. So we are Are
- 47:21Speaker 5: we all going?
- 47:22Speaker 4: Or is that something?
- 47:24Speaker 3: It hasn't been the term, but that's my plan, is
- 47:26Speaker 3: to do.
- 47:27Speaker 4: PUS over there. Yeah.
- 47:28Speaker 5: Yeah, and the team will be there for the entire week.
- 47:32Speaker 3: No, I think they're not going to come until Thursday night.
- 47:35Speaker 4: Oh yeah, okay, yeah, it's not like a Super Bowl
- 47:38Speaker 4: week or anything crazy.
- 47:39Speaker 10: No.
- 47:40Speaker 3: Yeah, they're not going to come for the That's I
- 47:42Speaker 3: don't know anything yet. That's what I'm hearing is they'll
- 47:45Speaker 3: just be there Thursday, you know, they'll they'll travel on Thursday,
- 47:49Speaker 3: they'll be there Friday, Saturday.
- 47:51Speaker 4: How is this just generally for you, Fred, when you
- 47:52Speaker 4: went there just for travel, getting into the country, getting
- 47:55Speaker 4: you know, situated. Is it just kind of normal? Nothing bad?
- 47:58Speaker 4: It's not bad.
- 47:59Speaker 3: I've never been out of the Make sure you got
- 48:01Speaker 3: your paths, you know, and you know TSA is TSA.
- 48:06Speaker 3: I mean there's like things you can do now, like
- 48:08Speaker 3: I don't know if it's called World Pass or something
- 48:10Speaker 3: like that. The things that global entry where you know
- 48:13Speaker 3: you can you know, skip the line or something like that.
- 48:16Speaker 5: But even even without that, seven a tip for the
- 48:19Speaker 5: pregame show, the things that pop into your head.
- 48:22Speaker 3: Yeah, I didn't have that, and it wasn't terrible. It
- 48:25Speaker 3: wasn't terrible.
- 48:26Speaker 4: You know, that's kind of fun.
- 48:27Speaker 13: Though.
- 48:27Speaker 4: I didn't even think of that breakfast Breakfast with PU.
- 48:30Speaker 4: I mean, what time, Oh, I guess there, it's probably
- 48:32Speaker 4: like it No, yeah, for them, it would.
- 48:34Speaker 5: Be if we were actually in Germany doing it'd be fine.
- 48:36Speaker 4: But like, but for people here, people.
- 48:38Speaker 5: That are listening, it's going to be a seven o'clock
- 48:41Speaker 5: start to the pregame show. Yeah, well seven fift breakfast
- 48:46Speaker 5: with Wimbledon.
- 48:48Speaker 3: Right, that's okay, let's see Alan, right Sin I grew
- 48:56Speaker 3: up he's in South Carolina, grew up loving live music
- 48:59Speaker 3: and attending concert so I ended up making a career
- 49:02Speaker 3: of it as a systems engineer, designing and deploying audio
- 49:06Speaker 3: systems for live events. I work over one hundred concerts
- 49:10Speaker 3: per year, and admittedly it desentitizes you. Last year I
- 49:15Speaker 3: worked on Motley Crue and def Leppard Stadium tour for
- 49:18Speaker 3: the geriatric crowd, and I never watched an entire Motley Tya.
- 49:23Speaker 5: There's a lot of stuff that he violates, a lot.
- 49:26Speaker 3: Of that, and I never watched an entire show start
- 49:28Speaker 3: to finish. At a certain point, you get more concerned
- 49:31Speaker 3: about finding a place to hang your hammock and get
- 49:33Speaker 3: some rest before tearing it down. However, the best show
- 49:37Speaker 3: I ever saw that actually drew me out from my
- 49:40Speaker 3: hiding spot was B fifty two's opening for Boy George
- 49:43Speaker 3: and Culture Club. Going in with zero expectation, I was
- 49:47Speaker 3: absolutely blown away and definitely recommend seeing Boy George if
- 49:51Speaker 3: you get the chance.
- 49:52Speaker 4: Okay, Boy George is going to be at great Woods,
- 49:55Speaker 4: I think this summer. Really Yeah, there's actually a pretty
- 49:57Speaker 4: good little schedule. I mean Janet Jackson, I think is
- 49:59Speaker 4: there this weekend. But they're like twenty five dollars for
- 50:01Speaker 4: like a long seat. Dave Matthews, if you're into that
- 50:04Speaker 4: kind of thing, Paul, I know you got you went
- 50:06Speaker 4: to one and.
- 50:07Speaker 5: To one of those concerts for the longer snipes of
- 50:15Speaker 5: my life.
- 50:18Speaker 3: Let's go back to the Ace ticket houtline eight five
- 50:21Speaker 3: five pats five hundred. Travis is in California.
- 50:23Speaker 4: Hey Travis, that's a good deep poll right there.
- 50:27Speaker 3: Travis Travis Areas, Hey, what's up.
- 50:34Speaker 7: The Californias thing?
- 50:35Speaker 4: Me off? Where are you from.
- 50:39Speaker 7: Tropole Hill in North Carolina.
- 50:41Speaker 3: I don't know how you got California, California? All right?
- 50:44Speaker 7: Anyway, Yeah, yeah, but this is there four of the
- 50:48Speaker 7: past without Brady. Correct, we're going into the year four?
- 50:51Speaker 4: Yes, yes, sir.
- 50:53Speaker 7: So I've always been to keep Brady Ronna Mountain Sry retire,
- 50:58Speaker 7: But looking at our past years, I don't see what
- 51:02Speaker 7: the plan was without Brady. If Belichick did not want Brady,
- 51:06Speaker 7: I didn't see his plan. I don't think we're any
- 51:09Speaker 7: closer to a championship. I think we're more closer to
- 51:11Speaker 7: the number one pick. I would think like if we
- 51:15Speaker 7: got rid of Brady, we would look like the Eagles.
- 51:17Speaker 7: We would add all this talent. But it seems like
- 51:20Speaker 7: we're adding the same player as we did and when
- 51:21Speaker 7: we had Brady. So I just didn't understand what the
- 51:24Speaker 7: plan was.
- 51:26Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean, I think that's in a lot of ways.
- 51:29Speaker 5: I think that's a fair criticism. I do think there
- 51:33Speaker 5: wasn't necessarily something in place. I think we all would
- 51:36Speaker 5: agree that the plan capital T capital P was probably Garoppolo,
- 51:40Speaker 5: but Brady outlived the plan. Yeah, so you had to
- 51:44Speaker 5: go to Plan B. And I don't really think there
- 51:46Speaker 5: was an adequate one put in place by Belichick in
- 51:50Speaker 5: the organization at the time. I think that with the
- 51:56Speaker 5: part of the problem, and you might disagree with this,
- 51:59Speaker 5: Fred is I really don't think Bill looks at the
- 52:02Speaker 5: quarterback as being that essential piece that I think most
- 52:05Speaker 5: other people do.
- 52:06Speaker 3: Wow, maybe forty years ago.
- 52:09Speaker 5: You know, No, I know how we all feel about it,
- 52:11Speaker 5: But I still think Bill thinks, yeah, yeah, Mac Jones,
- 52:15Speaker 5: I can, that's fine. Yeah, he's average, He's good enough.
- 52:19Speaker 5: I can, you know, And I don't think that the
- 52:22Speaker 5: specific Jimmy's and Joe's mattered to him.
- 52:25Speaker 4: Well, I think I think, like to me, I think
- 52:26Speaker 4: the defense is kind of maintained. I mean, you know,
- 52:29Speaker 4: they've been up and down a little bit, but for
- 52:30Speaker 4: the most part, I think you've gotten consistency. And I mean,
- 52:32Speaker 4: I think to your point, Paul, all they really wanted
- 52:35Speaker 4: is can we just get a quarterback who's gonna not
- 52:37Speaker 4: make the boneheaded decisions, do what we tell him, make
- 52:40Speaker 4: the right reads, get the ball out. We don't need
- 52:41Speaker 4: him to be Patrick Mahomes, and we can just continue
- 52:44Speaker 4: on that way, and I think that to me is
- 52:46Speaker 4: what seems like that's a lot.
- 52:48Speaker 5: That's the plan, and that's what I'm saying. But I
- 52:50Speaker 5: don't think that they had necessarily a guy in mind.
- 52:53Speaker 5: That's why I said I don't think they had a
- 52:54Speaker 5: specific plan. Well, because I think he doesn't think he
- 52:57Speaker 5: needed one.
- 52:57Speaker 4: Yeah, but that's the thing.
- 52:59Speaker 3: The year before they drafted Garoppolo, they probably didn't have
- 53:03Speaker 3: a plan. But then when Garoppolo was there and they
- 53:07Speaker 3: saw the tape on him his last year, he became
- 53:10Speaker 3: the plan. But it's it's not easy to have a
- 53:14Speaker 3: plan for to suc you know, to secede the best player.
- 53:21Speaker 18: You know.
- 53:21Speaker 3: It's just I didn't have a plan, you know. Yeah,
- 53:25Speaker 3: once Garoppolo thing blew up. No, they didn't have a plan.
- 53:27Speaker 5: But right, I think hard But I think critics would
- 53:29Speaker 5: then say, then right out Brady, Okay, they didn't have
- 53:33Speaker 5: a plan, chose to pull the plug before they needed.
- 53:35Speaker 3: Yeah, I think that became an untenable situation. And well
- 53:39Speaker 3: we can get into all that. But you're right, Paul,
- 53:41Speaker 3: I mean that would have been the answer. But even then, Okay,
- 53:46Speaker 3: at some point Brady's going to be done.
- 53:47Speaker 5: But it could have bought you sometimes it could have
- 53:49Speaker 5: brought you some time.
- 53:50Speaker 3: You're right, all right, We're gonna take a break Paul's
- 53:52Speaker 3: Foods here.
- 53:52Speaker 4: We'll be right back.

- 1:00:25Speaker 4: You got to get some of those.
- 1:00:26Speaker 3: I have firestones.
- 1:00:27Speaker 4: I thought those were supposed to be good. Well Bridge
- 1:00:30Speaker 4: stone bridgetone on Stone upgrade bridge fire.
- 1:00:34Speaker 5: So I got my I got my inspection yesterday.
- 1:00:37Speaker 4: You got through.
- 1:00:38Speaker 3: That's what that's what is annual physical.
- 1:00:43Speaker 4: Shady, the shady gas station where took care of me.
- 1:00:46Speaker 4: Come on in, so Currie got even offer me a
- 1:00:48Speaker 4: slice of pizza.
- 1:00:49Speaker 3: It's like no, I'm good, Okay, Well all over it.
- 1:00:52Speaker 5: Just because I got out of Felger and Mage yesterday
- 1:00:55Speaker 5: and my engine light was off probably the first time,
- 1:00:58Speaker 5: good time to time, and at least three weeks.
- 1:01:01Speaker 3: So I said to myself, Paul treats his car like
- 1:01:03Speaker 3: his body.
- 1:01:03Speaker 5: I'm trying. I know, I know what the light's on for.
- 1:01:07Speaker 3: That's another great moment.
- 1:01:11Speaker 4: All right, all right.
- 1:01:12Speaker 3: Back here and patriots do on Phil. Speaking of car,
- 1:01:15Speaker 3: my mine's been in the shop all week.
- 1:01:16Speaker 4: Problems, what's going on?
- 1:01:17Speaker 3: I was going little one way street near my house,
- 1:01:21Speaker 3: thank god, and I'm taking a right turn onto another
- 1:01:24Speaker 3: one way street and it's very narrow and there was
- 1:01:27Speaker 3: a car park across, so you can't like really take
- 1:01:30Speaker 3: a wide turn. And I hit a curve like that
- 1:01:33Speaker 3: was hidden in weeds and blew out my tire, dented
- 1:01:38Speaker 3: my door. The trim comes off, like thank god, I
- 1:01:41Speaker 3: had the bridgestone run flat tires so I could get
- 1:01:44Speaker 3: to Sullivan Tire and in full circle here. Yeah, so
- 1:01:49Speaker 3: you know, I don't know if Matt was reading my mind,
- 1:01:51Speaker 3: but anyway, just got a call from them during the
- 1:01:54Speaker 3: break that the car.
- 1:01:54Speaker 4: Is ready, but it's been in the shop all week.
- 1:01:56Speaker 4: Well is that I had.
- 1:02:00Speaker 3: It's gonna just like if it was like five hundred bucks,
- 1:02:01Speaker 3: I was gonna do, but it was thousands, so I
- 1:02:03Speaker 3: had to go through insurance.
- 1:02:04Speaker 4: Oh god, yeah, it's the worst. I like, there's nothing
- 1:02:07Speaker 4: worse in life. I was explaining to my son of
- 1:02:08Speaker 4: just when something all that one day, Today's the day
- 1:02:11Speaker 4: your battery is gonna break. You know, Today's the day
- 1:02:14Speaker 4: that you're gonna randomly hit a curb and have to
- 1:02:15Speaker 4: spend the whole day sitting there. And then they're gonna
- 1:02:18Speaker 4: come out and be like, yeah, the connect to Gazoint's broken.
- 1:02:20Speaker 4: It's gonna be four thousand dollars. Like I don't even
- 1:02:22Speaker 4: know what that is, but here's my four thousand dollars.
- 1:02:24Speaker 4: Because what else are you gonna do? There's nothing worse
- 1:02:26Speaker 4: in life than car problems.
- 1:02:27Speaker 3: Like, oh, car problems, yeah.
- 1:02:29Speaker 4: So much. And it's just those random days, like what
- 1:02:31Speaker 4: is it maybe eight days throughout the course of your
- 1:02:33Speaker 4: life that you're randomly.
- 1:02:34Speaker 3: Like back in the day, your horse gets sick, you
- 1:02:36Speaker 3: shoot it and get another horse.
- 1:02:38Speaker 4: Just like that. You don't have to like, you know,
- 1:02:39Speaker 4: get the trim, refit repair, you just get a new horse. Yeah.
- 1:02:43Speaker 3: But yeah, so that's uh, that's sucked. Yeah, the animal
- 1:02:50Speaker 3: rights people over so yeah, speaking of animal rights, Peter
- 1:02:56Speaker 3: writes in I had to write in with my take
- 1:02:59Speaker 3: on Eric. I started listening to the podcast when Eric
- 1:03:03Speaker 3: was away in Africa. While he was gone, Andy was
- 1:03:05Speaker 3: always saying that he hoped Eric would get eaten by
- 1:03:07Speaker 3: a lion. I couldn't believe how mean that was. But
- 1:03:10Speaker 3: then Eric came back and I understood right away why
- 1:03:13Speaker 3: Andy wanted him dead. I do have to say I
- 1:03:16Speaker 3: miss Eric a tiny bit. He made me laugh when
- 1:03:18Speaker 3: he would add good for him. When Fred would read
- 1:03:21Speaker 3: an email from people from certain cities, like this is
- 1:03:24Speaker 3: an email from.
- 1:03:24Speaker 4: Bob and Charlotte, Eric would follow up good for him.
- 1:03:28Speaker 4: It's actually not his joke, No, But I do miss
- 1:03:33Speaker 4: Airic a little bit. Yeah, especially in these shows where
- 1:03:36Speaker 4: there's not a lot of football to talk about, we
- 1:03:37Speaker 4: could get some impressions going, yeah, we get him going
- 1:03:40Speaker 4: on his welker or his gronk to the best of
- 1:03:43Speaker 4: my right.
- 1:03:46Speaker 3: Eight five five past five hundred is the ACE ticket
- 1:03:48Speaker 3: hot line. Nate's in northeastern Pennsylvania.
- 1:03:52Speaker 4: What's up, Nate?
- 1:03:53Speaker 10: Hey, what's going on?
- 1:03:54Speaker 4: Guys?
- 1:03:55Speaker 10: And I got to thank you first by letting you
- 1:03:57Speaker 10: know that I got my Patriots un cultured he in
- 1:04:00Speaker 10: the mail. Nice, appreciate that.
- 1:04:02Speaker 3: So you're the one I found myself.
- 1:04:04Speaker 10: I found myself done and like the dad from a
- 1:04:07Speaker 10: Christmas story with the leg lamp, like as your award.
- 1:04:09Speaker 14: Like.
- 1:04:10Speaker 10: I turned to my wife and I'm like, you.
- 1:04:11Speaker 7: Know, honey, they don't just give these.
- 1:04:12Speaker 10: Out to like just anybody.
- 1:04:14Speaker 3: And she's like, you're gonna wear that?
- 1:04:16Speaker 10: No, it's nice, it's really nice.
- 1:04:18Speaker 4: Nice.
- 1:04:19Speaker 10: But I got a football question and a off season
- 1:04:21Speaker 10: question specifically for Fred. The football question is related to
- 1:04:25Speaker 10: James Robinson. I believe, if I'm not mistaken, you guys
- 1:04:28Speaker 10: mentioned that his contractors deal is kind of just a
- 1:04:32Speaker 10: prove it deal, and you know, nothing's really guaranteed. In fact,
- 1:04:37Speaker 10: his roster spot's not guaranteed. And I'm just curious, you know,
- 1:04:40Speaker 10: with the training camp coming up running backs in general,
- 1:04:44Speaker 10: maybe not just James Robinson specifically, but running backs in general.
- 1:04:47Speaker 10: How hard is it for them to prove it in
- 1:04:49Speaker 10: training camp being that it's you know, such less is
- 1:04:52Speaker 10: so much less contact and things like that.
- 1:04:55Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean it's it's really knowing your assignment. You know,
- 1:04:59Speaker 3: they can prove themsel I was catching the ball, running
- 1:05:01Speaker 3: good routes, that type of thing.
- 1:05:02Speaker 5: A good question.
- 1:05:03Speaker 3: Yeah, and then in preseason obviously you know you can
- 1:05:06Speaker 3: do some things. But I think he's got a one
- 1:05:08Speaker 3: year deal Robinson.
- 1:05:10Speaker 5: Right, So uh yeah, to me, that will come down
- 1:05:15Speaker 5: to Kevin Harris. Like if Kevin Harris shows that he's
- 1:05:19Speaker 5: made a jump in Fred's right, it's mentally yep, Like
- 1:05:23Speaker 5: you know, he seems to be a little bit more comfortable.
- 1:05:27Speaker 5: And then you you get into training camp, in the
- 1:05:29Speaker 5: in the preseason games, Kevin Harris had some problems holding
- 1:05:32Speaker 5: onto the ball last year, So does he get rid
- 1:05:34Speaker 5: of those those issues and that might allow you to say, well,
- 1:05:38Speaker 5: this kid's ready for this role and maybe we don't
- 1:05:41Speaker 5: have to keep the veteran in James Robinson. So I
- 1:05:44Speaker 5: think those are the sort of the roster battles that
- 1:05:47Speaker 5: that Belichick deals with. I also thought it was really interesting.
- 1:05:50Speaker 5: I don't know if you guys saw any of this,
- 1:05:51Speaker 5: but we get a lot of emails. Mike, I'm sure
- 1:05:55Speaker 5: you do too, from like Vegas odds on different things.
- 1:05:59Speaker 5: Did you see the thing they can today? Evidently Dalvin
- 1:06:04Speaker 5: Cook is a good candidate for a a purge in Minnesota.
- 1:06:09Speaker 5: They're tight against the cap. The Patriots have like the
- 1:06:13Speaker 5: second best odds to land Dalvin Cook, and that to
- 1:06:15Speaker 5: me makes no sense, Like I love Dalvin Cook as
- 1:06:17Speaker 5: a player, Yeah, but like the Patriots are out of
- 1:06:20Speaker 5: everybody in the league, Like, why why would they want
- 1:06:24Speaker 5: behind that? No, it's just yeah, I just think it's
- 1:06:27Speaker 5: one of those things that the Patriots are always up
- 1:06:29Speaker 5: there because the Patriots fans bet on a lot.
- 1:06:32Speaker 4: Of this, right, Like I really do.
- 1:06:34Speaker 3: We'll take their money, their suckers.
- 1:06:36Speaker 4: Yeah. I almost would say, oh, sorry, go ahead, Yeah,
- 1:06:39Speaker 4: go ahead, Nate.
- 1:06:40Speaker 10: Quick quick off season questions where I'll let you guys go.
- 1:06:43Speaker 10: I'm an avid fisherman and I'm always up for a
- 1:06:45Speaker 10: good fishing story. I follow you on the Twitter machine
- 1:06:48Speaker 10: and saw your Twitter picture. Yeah, is it a pretty
- 1:06:52Speaker 10: nice small mouth bass? I need to hear the story.
- 1:06:54Speaker 3: Oh, no, just a friend took me out in his
- 1:06:56Speaker 3: boat and we actually had a good day. I think
- 1:06:58Speaker 3: between the two of us we caught over forty large
- 1:07:01Speaker 3: and smallmouth bass.
- 1:07:03Speaker 4: This is like a picture looking Yeah, this was probably.
- 1:07:07Speaker 3: Like six years ago. You know, it was before COVID.
- 1:07:10Speaker 3: I know that everything's before or after COVID, you know.
- 1:07:13Speaker 3: But no, this guy was like he had like a
- 1:07:15Speaker 3: tricked out bass boat and he would compete in tournaments
- 1:07:20Speaker 3: and win some and you know, cheating.
- 1:07:23Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:07:23Speaker 3: So, uh for a couple of years he took me out.
- 1:07:26Speaker 3: It's hard now he's up in New Hampshire.
- 1:07:29Speaker 17: Uh.
- 1:07:29Speaker 3: So we were out in one of the lakes. It
- 1:07:30Speaker 3: wasn't Winnipesake, it was another lake and we had a
- 1:07:34Speaker 3: good day. Yeah, it's fun fishing.
- 1:07:36Speaker 10: Find yourself down Pennsylvania to take you out.
- 1:07:40Speaker 4: Well I did.
- 1:07:41Speaker 3: I did fish in Pennsylvania. I used to do a
- 1:07:43Speaker 3: lot of fly fishing. And we friend him guy here.
- 1:07:47Speaker 3: We went down and they have these like limestone creeks
- 1:07:51Speaker 3: in Pennsylvania and we fished out of those.
- 1:07:55Speaker 4: Yeah. So that was fun. Nice, Yeah, cool, Okay, I
- 1:08:00Speaker 4: didn't know you're such a fisherman.
- 1:08:01Speaker 3: I used to used to every year go to League
- 1:08:04Speaker 3: either Idaho or Colorado.
- 1:08:07Speaker 4: Awesome. How did you get into fives? I mean, I've
- 1:08:09Speaker 4: talked to my grandfather of fly fish with Ted Williams
- 1:08:12Speaker 4: love fly fishing. It was like his passion, but I
- 1:08:14Speaker 4: was I was curious to try it. How did you
- 1:08:16Speaker 4: get into it?
- 1:08:18Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 1:08:19Speaker 4: Is it more fun like I just it's more of
- 1:08:21Speaker 4: a challenge. It definitely got to like make it dance.
- 1:08:24Speaker 3: Well, no, you have to. You have to do it
- 1:08:26Speaker 3: so the fly hits the you know, without a lot
- 1:08:30Speaker 3: of commotion like it would if it was just flying
- 1:08:32Speaker 3: and landed. You know, you can't be like making waves.
- 1:08:35Speaker 3: And you know what, there's a misconception about fly fishing.
- 1:08:39Speaker 3: They think it's all on top of the water floating flies.
- 1:08:42Speaker 3: Most in fly fishing or the fish are caught under
- 1:08:45Speaker 3: the water. So you waited a little bit. You look
- 1:08:47Speaker 3: for where the current seams are and you try to
- 1:08:49Speaker 3: mimic the feeding patterns. So where the current is going
- 1:08:53Speaker 3: is where the bugs are going, and that's where the
- 1:08:55Speaker 3: fish hang out to eat, So that's where you look for.
- 1:08:58Speaker 3: You look for like behind rock so or little pools
- 1:09:01Speaker 3: where the current is taking all the food and that's
- 1:09:04Speaker 3: where you fish. It, so you you really have to
- 1:09:06Speaker 3: kind of try to mimic nature. You unbarb your hook,
- 1:09:11Speaker 3: so you know, you do with at least amount of
- 1:09:14Speaker 3: damage to the fish as possibles. That means when you
- 1:09:16Speaker 3: hook it, yeah, you have to really keep it taut
- 1:09:18Speaker 3: or else the fish is going to get away easier.
- 1:09:20Speaker 3: It's much more of a sport. You get bigger fish
- 1:09:22Speaker 3: with that that style too necessarily.
- 1:09:24Speaker 4: No, no, that's why. For some reason I always thought
- 1:09:26Speaker 4: that no interesting.
- 1:09:27Speaker 3: So it's just but the rods are more sensitive. So
- 1:09:30Speaker 3: it's like like a ten inch or a twelve inch
- 1:09:34Speaker 3: trout is a fight. Yeah, that's a fight.
- 1:09:37Speaker 4: So it's more fun. I get it. I mean it
- 1:09:38Speaker 4: just seems more like, would you just say, more of
- 1:09:40Speaker 4: a sport kind of like, yeah, it is. It's more technical.
- 1:09:43Speaker 3: You know, when people really into what they tie their
- 1:09:45Speaker 3: own flies.
- 1:09:46Speaker 4: I can't do that.
- 1:09:47Speaker 3: I'm like my fan my fingers, I get glue all
- 1:09:50Speaker 3: over my fingers. Yeah, I'm not good at that. But
- 1:09:53Speaker 3: you don't need to do that. But like the real
- 1:09:56Speaker 3: hardcore that will tie the wrong fly.
- 1:09:58Speaker 4: You know, with Ted Williams that book I ready was
- 1:10:00Speaker 4: on and I sure like he.
- 1:10:02Speaker 3: Did it perfectly because everything he did was perfect.
- 1:10:04Speaker 4: Oh yeah, yeah. Just to go back real quick to
- 1:10:06Speaker 4: the running back question, I thought that was a really
- 1:10:08Speaker 4: good question, just because I always feel like when we
- 1:10:10Speaker 4: get to camp, they're like, you know, you don't get
- 1:10:12Speaker 4: any of what Ramandra Stevenson is in training camp, like
- 1:10:15Speaker 4: because he's a lot about after contact and you know,
- 1:10:17Speaker 4: the guys are just going off of him. But would
- 1:10:19Speaker 4: you I almost feel like hearing you guys talk about it,
- 1:10:22Speaker 4: it's almost easier to lose a job as a running
- 1:10:24Speaker 4: back in camp than to win the job. You know,
- 1:10:28Speaker 4: like I feel like you in camp just earned the opportunity.
- 1:10:30Speaker 4: But if you're blowing assignments in pass protection, you're putting
- 1:10:33Speaker 4: the ball on the ground, like, those are the things
- 1:10:35Speaker 4: that are just not going to happen. But there's not
- 1:10:36Speaker 4: really like, oh he broke a huge run in training camp,
- 1:10:38Speaker 4: he just secured a job, Like, no way, nobody's tackling now.
- 1:10:41Speaker 5: It's kind of like what Fred said though, with the
- 1:10:44Speaker 5: growing trend of less and less contact in training camp,
- 1:10:47Speaker 5: I think pretty much all positions are now it's more
- 1:10:50Speaker 5: mental like and they and that's what makes it hard
- 1:10:53Speaker 5: for us is because you don't get to see if
- 1:10:56Speaker 5: like when we would go out there and we judge
- 1:10:58Speaker 5: it off of what we're seeing in terms of personnel. Right,
- 1:11:01Speaker 5: So you might watch and see last year, you know,
- 1:11:07Speaker 5: very obvious one was was Brendan Schooler and DeMarcus Mitchell working,
- 1:11:12Speaker 5: you know, so exclusively with Matthew Slater. Right, So you said,
- 1:11:17Speaker 5: these two guys are probably gonna stick around. They have
- 1:11:19Speaker 5: special teams role, but you don't know why behind the scenes,
- 1:11:23Speaker 5: those guys are getting those opportunities and some other you know,
- 1:11:28Speaker 5: defensive backs that are in camp or not getting those opportunities.
- 1:11:31Speaker 3: And pay attention to preseason because you know the score
- 1:11:34Speaker 3: doesn't matter, and you'll see like a series of downs
- 1:11:36Speaker 3: where a running back will get every play. You know,
- 1:11:40Speaker 3: he'll run a couple, then they'll throw a couple to him,
- 1:11:42Speaker 3: and if he gets the first down, he'll get even more.
- 1:11:45Speaker 3: Though they'll set up those scenarios to showcase a guy
- 1:11:48Speaker 3: within a preseason game to see how he does.
- 1:11:50Speaker 5: But I agree with you, Mike, I think it is
- 1:11:52Speaker 5: a tough It's a good question because it's a tough
- 1:11:55Speaker 5: thing to identify. Yeah, you know, like you see guys,
- 1:11:58Speaker 5: especially like running backs. How many times we watch a
- 1:12:01Speaker 5: training camp over the course of a week, and it's like,
- 1:12:04Speaker 5: who got the first carry of that set? Oh it
- 1:12:06Speaker 5: was Damien Harris today. Oh no, it was Remondery today. No,
- 1:12:08Speaker 5: it was Time Montgomery today. They can change all the time,
- 1:12:12Speaker 5: and and Fred's right. They did that last year in
- 1:12:14Speaker 5: the preseason games where they gave series to one guy,
- 1:12:18Speaker 5: because I think that was something they really wanted to
- 1:12:21Speaker 5: do going into the season, is to be less predictable
- 1:12:23Speaker 5: based on personnel on the field.
- 1:12:25Speaker 3: As you can see, Evan has joined us. Hello, Evan, Uh,
- 1:12:29Speaker 3: got to get his mic on here.
- 1:12:31Speaker 4: Matt's doing a lot of stuff.
- 1:12:35Speaker 6: I don't like when Matt's running around.
- 1:12:37Speaker 3: I feel it makes you nervous.
- 1:12:39Speaker 4: Just I feel bad because he can kill you.
- 1:12:41Speaker 5: Yeah, that's why it makes me one of these I
- 1:12:43Speaker 5: don't want to I don't want to upset him.
- 1:12:45Speaker 3: So Evan, what's up.
- 1:12:47Speaker 6: It just came from Calvin Anderson and josh U Jay's
- 1:12:51Speaker 6: media availability, and Calvin Anderson dropped a little bit of
- 1:12:54Speaker 6: a of a bomb on the media on his way
- 1:12:57Speaker 6: off the podium that he is a Rubik's Cube wizard
- 1:13:02Speaker 6: and can solve a Rubik's cub in thirteen seconds, he said,
- 1:13:06Speaker 6: and he also said that he has a method of
- 1:13:10Speaker 6: solving it behind his back, so blindfolded or behind his back.
- 1:13:14Speaker 6: That is, he's credited with the method as he invented it.
- 1:13:20Speaker 6: Really this method to solve this Rubik's cube, so.
- 1:13:23Speaker 3: Social we can look that up on Wikipedia or something.
- 1:13:26Speaker 5: Yeah, it's like Rocky training in the meat run. I
- 1:13:29Speaker 5: sort of invented that.
- 1:13:30Speaker 6: So yeah, my immediate thought was, well, this is a
- 1:13:34Speaker 6: great piece of content for us, you know, for our
- 1:13:37Speaker 6: social team.
- 1:13:37Speaker 4: To put this whole Strange can do it too. Oh
- 1:13:39Speaker 4: so maybe we.
- 1:13:40Speaker 6: Can have a little bit of a cube off. But
- 1:13:42Speaker 6: it sounds like Calvin Anderson's like a professional when it comes.
- 1:13:46Speaker 4: To this because like my son who is now in
- 1:13:48Speaker 4: eighth grade, he can sult it. I mean once you know, yeah,
- 1:13:52Speaker 4: the order, here's a way to do this, do it
- 1:13:54Speaker 4: like it's not like, oh, he can see what it
- 1:13:56Speaker 4: is and get like you just start doing the formula
- 1:13:59Speaker 4: like the algoid these video games.
- 1:14:01Speaker 5: His cheek coats yeah yeah, left.
- 1:14:04Speaker 4: Right, left, right, yeah, start, But he does it behind
- 1:14:05Speaker 4: his back, yeah, behind his back.
- 1:14:07Speaker 6: And he said that he can solve it regularly, not
- 1:14:12Speaker 6: behind his back. In thirteen seconds. He can solve it
- 1:14:14Speaker 6: behind his back in around twenty to twenty five seconds,
- 1:14:18Speaker 6: he said, and it was interesting, you know, when it's done,
- 1:14:22Speaker 6: I don't know, he's like, you know, I don't just knows.
- 1:14:27Speaker 6: But well, he's got some personality.
- 1:14:30Speaker 3: I'll give him that.
- 1:14:30Speaker 6: Like you we'll see what it's like out on the field.
- 1:14:33Speaker 6: But he's got some personality. And I came out big smile.
- 1:14:37Speaker 6: He's wearing a retro Patriots a starter jacket that he
- 1:14:41Speaker 6: said that his agency sent him when he signed with
- 1:14:43Speaker 6: the Patriots in March, So he's got he's got some swag.
- 1:14:46Speaker 4: Did you talk it all about his initial stint here
- 1:14:49Speaker 4: in nineteen.
- 1:14:50Speaker 6: Oh, yeah, that was like the majority of the questions
- 1:14:53Speaker 6: was about what did you learn back then, how did
- 1:14:55Speaker 6: it help you, How it's it like to be back now,
- 1:14:57Speaker 6: And he just mentioned that it actually hardened him a
- 1:15:01Speaker 6: little bit to the business of the NFL. And he
- 1:15:04Speaker 6: said that once he got cut by the Patriots, he
- 1:15:07Speaker 6: got real serious about football and recognized that if I'm
- 1:15:11Speaker 6: going to make a career out of this, it's it's
- 1:15:13Speaker 6: not college Like, I'm not just going to show up
- 1:15:15Speaker 6: to practice five days a week and go through the
- 1:15:17Speaker 6: motions that I'm going to have to really go all
- 1:15:20Speaker 6: in on this.
- 1:15:21Speaker 4: So he gave a lot of.
- 1:15:22Speaker 6: Credit to the Patriots for instilling that in him, almost
- 1:15:25Speaker 6: giving him that chip on the shoulder by.
- 1:15:28Speaker 4: Accident kind of you know, thank you for cutting me.
- 1:15:30Speaker 6: Yeah, right, And then he went to Denver, talked a
- 1:15:33Speaker 6: lot about Mike Munchak, the legendary offensive line coach, and
- 1:15:37Speaker 6: you know, his impact on him and going up against
- 1:15:40Speaker 6: von Miller in practice in Denver, he said, was his
- 1:15:44Speaker 6: welcome to the NFL rookie type of moment as a
- 1:15:47Speaker 6: rookie back in nineteen. So a lot of media in attendance,
- 1:15:52Speaker 6: a decent amount. I mean, this is these types of offseason.
- 1:15:55Speaker 6: This is like the real the real ogs, you know,
- 1:15:58Speaker 6: like this is the Friday. This is the diehards that
- 1:16:01Speaker 6: come in for these little one offs, and so the
- 1:16:05Speaker 6: other guys have to be at like Celtics. Oh yeah that.
- 1:16:09Speaker 6: I didn't mean to throw anybody under the bus, but
- 1:16:11Speaker 6: it just you know, this is the core group of
- 1:16:14Speaker 6: guys that are really just covering the Patriots are the
- 1:16:17Speaker 6: guys that that come to these anyway.
- 1:16:21Speaker 3: How many of the people in attendants are going to
- 1:16:23Speaker 3: Taylor Swift.
- 1:16:24Speaker 4: To talk about Swift.
- 1:16:25Speaker 6: Not a lot of talk about Swift. No grousing about
- 1:16:29Speaker 6: Taylor Swift.
- 1:16:30Speaker 3: I don't know grousing, but what about excitement.
- 1:16:33Speaker 4: No, there wasn't any of that.
- 1:16:34Speaker 6: Actually, I didn't. A lot of Celtics talk, of course,
- 1:16:37Speaker 6: and a lot of back and forth about about that,
- 1:16:40Speaker 6: but not too much about any about Taylor Swift.
- 1:16:42Speaker 4: Now, okay, ohch is good? Yeah, you know, he was.
- 1:16:48Speaker 6: Mentioned a couple of things about he didn't mention, but
- 1:16:52Speaker 6: was asked about his contract and being in a contract year,
- 1:16:55Speaker 6: and then also asked about last year and building off
- 1:16:58Speaker 6: of last year and even if he took some time
- 1:17:01Speaker 6: to appreciate that he had a breakout season, and he said, no,
- 1:17:06Speaker 6: that really no resting on his laurels. And I think
- 1:17:10Speaker 6: that's he's in the right mindset in terms of the
- 1:17:13Speaker 6: contract to just take care of what I can take
- 1:17:16Speaker 6: care of, and if I play well, then the money
- 1:17:18Speaker 6: and all that stuff will come. So well, it'd be
- 1:17:20Speaker 6: interesting to see. I asked him about playing a little
- 1:17:24Speaker 6: bit more of a three down role moving forward and
- 1:17:27Speaker 6: not just being a forty snap guy and how important
- 1:17:30Speaker 6: that was to him, and he said, you know, everybody's
- 1:17:32Speaker 6: got a role on the team, So I think he
- 1:17:34Speaker 6: kind of recognizes that his role on this team is
- 1:17:37Speaker 6: to rush the passer, and they're gonna have other guys
- 1:17:39Speaker 6: in there that are gonna be on first and ten
- 1:17:41Speaker 6: stopping the run.
- 1:17:42Speaker 3: So, okay, Willem and Philim are called earlier, Evan, he
- 1:17:47Speaker 3: was wishing that you were on the show at the time,
- 1:17:51Speaker 3: because you know Malik Cunningham, your your attitude on Malie Cunningham.
- 1:17:56Speaker 3: Really it's not sitting.
- 1:17:57Speaker 4: Well with him, Briand in his gears.
- 1:17:59Speaker 6: Okay, so I wrote about I wrote about the udfas
- 1:18:02Speaker 6: this week, so that that's my full thoughts on Malik Cunningham,
- 1:18:06Speaker 6: who I do think is a quarterback. My biggest thing
- 1:18:09Speaker 6: with Malie Cunningham with Patriots fans is that the only
- 1:18:13Speaker 6: way I can phrase this is that good teams don't
- 1:18:16Speaker 6: hope that guys like Malik Cunningham turned into superstar players
- 1:18:19Speaker 6: because they have real receivers that catch the football and
- 1:18:22Speaker 6: make Pro Bowls and All Pro teams for a living.
- 1:18:25Speaker 6: So we always get our site set on these udfas
- 1:18:30Speaker 6: like Malie Cuttingham, like this is the next breakout guy, right,
- 1:18:33Speaker 6: this is the next star of the Patriots because he's
- 1:18:36Speaker 6: athletic and can run with the football. And my whole
- 1:18:38Speaker 6: thing is like, why don't we root for Taekwon Thornton
- 1:18:42Speaker 6: becoming that guy or de Mario Douglas becoming that guy
- 1:18:47Speaker 6: and not have to bank on a UDFA. That's a
- 1:18:50Speaker 6: quarterback switching positions to receiver and then blossoming into some
- 1:18:55Speaker 6: great football.
- 1:18:56Speaker 3: Well, Kurt Warner the only undrafted quarterback that really became
- 1:19:00Speaker 3: a great Tony Romo, Oh he was undrafted. Okay, all right,
- 1:19:06Speaker 3: all right, Well there's a couple happens.
- 1:19:08Speaker 4: But do you think like even to like your point, like,
- 1:19:10Speaker 4: was anybody excited about Julian Edelman as a receiver when
- 1:19:12Speaker 4: he came here? And right, no, but Belichick didn't know
- 1:19:15Speaker 4: he was going to be to receive? No, I know
- 1:19:16Speaker 4: that's what I mean, Like, you know, the situation was
- 1:19:19Speaker 4: reversed and you drafted him. Now people might be a
- 1:19:21Speaker 4: little bit more.
- 1:19:22Speaker 5: But I think that's encapsulates what I think Evans talking about,
- 1:19:28Speaker 5: like it happened once, so it will happen again, And
- 1:19:31Speaker 5: I can I know you don't like you don't like it.
- 1:19:33Speaker 5: When I played the hits and I read all the
- 1:19:35Speaker 5: names of the guys that every one of these people
- 1:19:38Speaker 5: told me was going to be the next Julian Edelman,
- 1:19:40Speaker 5: Jeremy Gallon, Jeremy Gown, Jeremy Ebert, j Mo, Jeff Thomas,
- 1:19:45Speaker 5: rast Burials. Right, Like, we've had so many of those guys,
- 1:19:51Speaker 5: and almost all of them never you know, never even
- 1:19:56Speaker 5: stuck around, let alone turned into Julian Edelman. So odds
- 1:20:02Speaker 5: are this guy won't do that either. But that's okay.
- 1:20:05Speaker 5: Like I think if Evan's right and they make him
- 1:20:09Speaker 5: and they keep him at a quarterback, that's what you
- 1:20:12Speaker 5: think that is. Yeah, I'm excited about that. We talked
- 1:20:14Speaker 5: about this before you got here. Just different skill set.
- 1:20:18Speaker 5: Let him develop. He's got time. There's two guys in
- 1:20:21Speaker 5: front of him. Let's see if there's anything.
- 1:20:24Speaker 4: Man.
- 1:20:24Speaker 6: Yeah, I actually have some excitement about him as a quarterback.
- 1:20:28Speaker 6: My whole gripe is with people that are trying to
- 1:20:31Speaker 6: make him into a receiver and then thinking that that's
- 1:20:34Speaker 6: going to turn him into some perennial All Pro player
- 1:20:38Speaker 6: just because he's got some athleticism and has a good
- 1:20:41Speaker 6: skill set with the ball in his hands. But as
- 1:20:42Speaker 6: a quarterback, he's different. He's not He's not Josh Allen
- 1:20:47Speaker 6: or Patrick Mahomes where he's gonna roll out and flick
- 1:20:49Speaker 6: the ball sixty yards down the field. He doesn't have
- 1:20:51Speaker 6: an arm cannon, but he throws a good touch to
- 1:20:54Speaker 6: the first and second level, I thought. And he adds
- 1:20:56Speaker 6: that running quarterback element. He certainly does, so there's more
- 1:21:00Speaker 6: to be optimistic about their keeping him at quarterback.
- 1:21:03Speaker 4: But he's small. He's small. He is small.
- 1:21:05Speaker 6: He's five to eleven ninety two pounds. So he's bright, young, Yeah.
- 1:21:10Speaker 4: Yeah, completing each other's sentences. Orry's just become best friends.
- 1:21:15Speaker 3: Todd in North Carolina. I hate Todd.
- 1:21:18Speaker 18: So I've heard a lot of people calling in worried
- 1:21:21Speaker 18: about you know, well, they're going to have this record,
- 1:21:22Speaker 18: you know, it's going to be a big losing record,
- 1:21:24Speaker 18: or oh they're going to have this kind of optimistic
- 1:21:26Speaker 18: they're going to have this kind of record. And I'm
- 1:21:28Speaker 18: I'm thinking this is not a year for looking at that.
- 1:21:31Speaker 18: The schedule is tough, things are changing for me to
- 1:21:34Speaker 18: be a good year, I want to see improvement from
- 1:21:37Speaker 18: our rookies, and I just want to see an offense. Say,
- 1:21:40Speaker 18: if you can show me an offense, an offense that
- 1:21:43Speaker 18: you know starts out might it's a little bit the slow,
- 1:21:45Speaker 18: but but at the end of the year is actually competent.
- 1:21:47Speaker 18: I'm not saying we need Brady style offense, but just
- 1:21:50Speaker 18: has progressed and the young guy's gone, that's going to
- 1:21:53Speaker 18: be enough for this year. I don't think, you know,
- 1:21:55Speaker 18: I think kind of pick wins and losses and stuff
- 1:21:58Speaker 18: like that with this schedule and with.
- 1:21:59Speaker 3: The the team is.
- 1:22:01Speaker 18: I don't think that's the right way to go. I
- 1:22:02Speaker 18: want your thoughts.
- 1:22:03Speaker 3: Well, Okay, I know I hear what you're saying. I'm
- 1:22:06Speaker 3: going into the season with hope, not necessarily expectations, but
- 1:22:10Speaker 3: it is about winning, right, We're playing a game, you know,
- 1:22:13Speaker 3: so yeah.
- 1:22:15Speaker 4: And like the previous caller said, like you're four years
- 1:22:18Speaker 4: in now, yeah, and we're not supposed to be concerned
- 1:22:21Speaker 4: about competing for like a playoff spot and winning ten
- 1:22:25Speaker 4: twelve games.
- 1:22:26Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 1:22:26Speaker 4: I just think that's like, you know, what the debate is,
- 1:22:28Speaker 4: and it's such a weird place to be. But we
- 1:22:31Speaker 4: all know what's happened over twenty years and what Bill
- 1:22:34Speaker 4: Belichick has done for this organization. But you know, at
- 1:22:36Speaker 4: what point does it become all right, what have you
- 1:22:39Speaker 4: done for us lately? And you know, four seasons, five seasons.
- 1:22:42Speaker 4: It's just I mean, I just I and I don't
- 1:22:43Speaker 4: want to get into like I oh, I think they
- 1:22:45Speaker 4: need to fire him right now, Like I just think
- 1:22:47Speaker 4: it's an interesting conversation to have about what. You know,
- 1:22:50Speaker 4: everyone knows that he's earned a lot of trust and
- 1:22:53Speaker 4: goodwill from the teams that he helped put together and
- 1:22:55Speaker 4: put on the field and bring to super Bowl titles.
- 1:22:58Speaker 4: But you know, just what's reasonable reasonable expectation? Like what
- 1:23:01Speaker 4: would Bill Belichick say to that? You know, how long
- 1:23:03Speaker 4: do you have?
- 1:23:05Speaker 5: Six?
- 1:23:05Speaker 4: Seven?
- 1:23:06Speaker 11: What?
- 1:23:07Speaker 4: Like, what is the number where you feel like, okay,
- 1:23:09Speaker 4: we just don't have we've lost it and we need
- 1:23:11Speaker 4: to make a change.
- 1:23:11Speaker 5: You Now, what Todd said, I would largely agree with.
- 1:23:14Speaker 5: I would probably feel better about the situation if I
- 1:23:17Speaker 5: saw some progress on offense and it looked like mac
- 1:23:21Speaker 5: Jones took a step forward and solidified that grip and okay,
- 1:23:27Speaker 5: we're not having any offseason talk who's the quarterback next year?
- 1:23:31Speaker 4: Get out?
- 1:23:32Speaker 5: You know, that would make me, That would make me
- 1:23:34Speaker 5: feel better about the situation. But I don't think you
- 1:23:36Speaker 5: should go into a season ever in that league. Anybody
- 1:23:40Speaker 5: must not be concerned with wins and losses. Let's just
- 1:23:42Speaker 5: you know, let's show let's try to show some progress
- 1:23:45Speaker 5: and right, especially four years post Brady, like that's this
- 1:23:48Speaker 5: is not like a new rebuild. This is not a
- 1:23:50Speaker 5: new team.
- 1:23:51Speaker 4: Yep. Yeah, that's why I think, Like I think everyone's
- 1:23:54Speaker 4: okay with the pass in twenty twenty for a variety
- 1:23:56Speaker 4: of course, for a variety of reasons. And then in
- 1:23:58Speaker 4: twenty twenty one, you you drafted a order back, you
- 1:24:00Speaker 4: got back to the playoffs. It felt like, all right,
- 1:24:03Speaker 4: it's maybe the start of something. Yeah. I think last
- 1:24:05Speaker 4: year though is But if we can.
- 1:24:07Speaker 3: Come out of this season knowing that Max the guy,
- 1:24:10Speaker 3: then good things would have had to have happened. Yeah, right,
- 1:24:13Speaker 3: all right, and that's that'd be good. You know, if
- 1:24:16Speaker 3: we go into twenty fourth knowing who our quarterback is.
- 1:24:20Speaker 4: Yeah, you know, so new faces emerged, you know, not
- 1:24:22Speaker 4: just him, but I mean who's he throwing the ball to?
- 1:24:24Speaker 4: Who are making the place for him?
- 1:24:26Speaker 3: Like I said, if we know that going out of
- 1:24:28Speaker 3: the season, good things would have had to happen, meaning
- 1:24:31Speaker 3: he did throw and guys caught it, they score touchdowns.
- 1:24:33Speaker 4: You know, he's just handed out to remondre right five
- 1:24:36Speaker 4: thousand times.
- 1:24:37Speaker 5: And we talk a lot about you know what stuff
- 1:24:39Speaker 5: that other people are writing, you know, Todd said, you
- 1:24:41Speaker 5: know about people predicting records and whatnot. I don't know
- 1:24:44Speaker 5: if you guys caught a story that Greg Bdard had
- 1:24:48Speaker 5: this week. It was sort of projecting the possibilities of
- 1:24:52Speaker 5: offensive personnel being replaced, you know, like David Andrews was
- 1:24:56Speaker 5: a guy he thought with Jake Andrews, you know, what
- 1:25:00Speaker 5: are the chances that they were thinking, you know, thirty one,
- 1:25:03Speaker 5: it's missed some time, you know, maybe the time to
- 1:25:06Speaker 5: put some maybe earlier than later, right, you know, what
- 1:25:09Speaker 5: are the chances he could be replaced as the center
- 1:25:11Speaker 5: this year? I thought it was interesting that he had.
- 1:25:14Speaker 5: Mac Jones was the last one he wrote about, and
- 1:25:16Speaker 5: he said, I want to say there was twenty five
- 1:25:19Speaker 5: percent chance or twenty percent chance for Zappi to overtake
- 1:25:23Speaker 5: him coming out of camp. And he said that he
- 1:25:26Speaker 5: doesn't think it's close. He thinks mac Jones is far
- 1:25:29Speaker 5: and away. So he kind of agrees with us on
- 1:25:32Speaker 5: the on the evaluation and that it will show in
- 1:25:36Speaker 5: training camp. But he put it at forty percent chance
- 1:25:40Speaker 5: of Jones being replaced during the season. Did you guys
- 1:25:44Speaker 5: want to read this at all?
- 1:25:45Speaker 3: My bad?
- 1:25:45Speaker 5: I didn't read. We're the only one that reads clips.
- 1:25:47Speaker 3: I usually do read his place by zapp.
- 1:25:50Speaker 5: Because of the schedule and the sort of likelihood that
- 1:25:55Speaker 5: they get off to a slow start and for whatever
- 1:25:59Speaker 5: reason they need a and then it kind of coincides
- 1:26:02Speaker 5: with a little bit of a softening and then Zappi
- 1:26:05Speaker 5: takes It was almost like last year when Zabie gets
- 1:26:08Speaker 5: in there, you know, after opening with you know, Eagles
- 1:26:14Speaker 5: with my but look even last year, it's like Miami
- 1:26:17Speaker 5: and Baltimore, you know, Miami, pittsfordh Baltimore, and then Zappi
- 1:26:23Speaker 5: goes in and it's Detroit Cleveland, you know, and Detroit
- 1:26:27Speaker 5: was a mess at the time. I mean know what,
- 1:26:29Speaker 5: you know, they obviously turned their season around, but Detroit
- 1:26:32Speaker 5: was not good early in the season, and then Cleveland
- 1:26:35Speaker 5: was not good at any point in the season. And
- 1:26:37Speaker 5: that's the games that Zappie got to play, you know,
- 1:26:41Speaker 5: so they was sort of I think Greg was sort
- 1:26:44Speaker 5: of looking at that, it was like could that happen again?
- 1:26:45Speaker 5: And all of a sudden, Zappi takes over, has some success,
- 1:26:48Speaker 5: maybe against a Washington or an Indie in Germany.
- 1:26:52Speaker 3: The only way that happens if it's like so putrid
- 1:26:55Speaker 3: or injury otherwise it's man.
- 1:26:58Speaker 4: Or or or well he put it at forty He
- 1:27:00Speaker 4: put it at forty percent.
- 1:27:01Speaker 5: That's why I brought it up. I thought that I
- 1:27:02Speaker 5: thought that was high, that a high.
- 1:27:05Speaker 4: I mean, I agree with the general premise of it
- 1:27:07Speaker 4: that I don't think that Bailey Zappy has a real
- 1:27:09Speaker 4: chance to win the quarterback job out of training camp.
- 1:27:11Speaker 4: But I also think that that's just it's unfair in
- 1:27:14Speaker 4: a way. But it's also just these are these are
- 1:27:17Speaker 4: this is how the schedule is always going to be.
- 1:27:18Speaker 4: It's you know, like they're always going to be tough
- 1:27:20Speaker 4: teams and either you roll with Mac Jones and any
- 1:27:23Speaker 4: any ride or die. You know, they win or lose
- 1:27:25Speaker 4: or you know, what good is it going to do?
- 1:27:27Speaker 4: All Right, well, Matt couldn't beat the good team, So
- 1:27:29Speaker 4: let's go to Zappie now and and we'll just kind
- 1:27:31Speaker 4: of like wave the white flag a little bit. Like
- 1:27:33Speaker 4: I don't know, I just I mean, I don't I
- 1:27:35Speaker 4: don't disagree with what he's saying, but I also just think,
- 1:27:37Speaker 4: like clickbait, what difference is it going to be if
- 1:27:40Speaker 4: you that's me?
- 1:27:40Speaker 5: What difference if it was clickbait? I don't think it
- 1:27:42Speaker 5: would have been the last two paragraphs of his story
- 1:27:44Speaker 5: and not having anything to do with the headline. It's
- 1:27:47Speaker 5: just like he just went down all the offensive personnel,
- 1:27:50Speaker 5: Like he talked about the receivers exactly the way we
- 1:27:52Speaker 5: did Born and to a lesser extent Parker like if
- 1:27:57Speaker 5: you get some kids that come in and jope, that's
- 1:27:59Speaker 5: not we We had a whole conversation about it, probably
- 1:28:02Speaker 5: last week. So that's what he was writing about, is
- 1:28:06Speaker 5: all the offensive personnel. He went into great detail about
- 1:28:09Speaker 5: the tackles as only Greg can Greg evan.
- 1:28:15Speaker 4: Bit.
- 1:28:15Speaker 5: Yet he didn't even know that.
- 1:28:16Speaker 4: That just got me.
- 1:28:17Speaker 5: Don't even look at him, don't even look don't even
- 1:28:19Speaker 5: look at it. Just like I can actually do a pass.
- 1:28:21Speaker 4: Set while doing a Rubik's cube behind Well, it's.
- 1:28:23Speaker 6: Just, you know, to have an offensive lineman in all seriousness,
- 1:28:26Speaker 6: it has a little bit of personality. Like you know,
- 1:28:30Speaker 6: most of the time you talk to those guys and
- 1:28:32Speaker 6: I'm not to pick a Riley Reef, but most of
- 1:28:35Speaker 6: them sound like Riley Reef, right Like I I just
- 1:28:37Speaker 6: come to work, I do my job, and I go home.
- 1:28:40Speaker 6: Like that's like, but then you get Calvin Anderson in
- 1:28:42Speaker 6: there and he's got some bizzazz, and you're like, Okay, yeah,
- 1:28:45Speaker 6: this guy I could talk to, Like, if this guy
- 1:28:46Speaker 6: starts this year, I could actually.
- 1:28:48Speaker 4: Have a start a conversation. I started check.
- 1:28:52Speaker 6: I feel like we talked about the likelihood of Marketing
- 1:28:57Speaker 6: replaced in season being higher than him getting replaced for
- 1:29:01Speaker 6: week one loses the job to Zappi in camp. I
- 1:29:05Speaker 6: think that that's that's definitely in play if it starts
- 1:29:09Speaker 6: poorly for four to six weeks. But I think you
- 1:29:11Speaker 6: know that to Todd's call, I just looked up justin
- 1:29:16Speaker 6: Herbert's rookie season where they did not win very many games,
- 1:29:19Speaker 6: but he threw thirty one touchdowns to ten interceptions in
- 1:29:22Speaker 6: over forty two hundred yards. If MAC had a year
- 1:29:25Speaker 6: like that, where they go, I think Herbert went six
- 1:29:29Speaker 6: and eight in the games that he started or something
- 1:29:31Speaker 6: like that, or won six games. If they win six
- 1:29:34Speaker 6: or seven games, but MAC has this great stat line,
- 1:29:37Speaker 6: are we really optimistic?
- 1:29:39Speaker 4: Like?
- 1:29:39Speaker 6: I don't know, I just I think some of us
- 1:29:42Speaker 6: will be.
- 1:29:42Speaker 3: Yeah, are they losing games thirty four to thirty one? Yeah,
- 1:29:45Speaker 3: I'm a little bit optimistic. Maybe, you know, now we
- 1:29:47Speaker 3: got to tweak our defense.
- 1:29:49Speaker 15: You know.
- 1:29:49Speaker 4: I just wonder how much of it, too, is how
- 1:29:51Speaker 4: Mac deals with it, and if it's necessarily a direct
- 1:29:54Speaker 4: reflection of his performance or just you know what, we
- 1:29:57Speaker 4: have to reset this person, and you know, to send
- 1:30:00Speaker 4: a message like if it's going to be that kind
- 1:30:02Speaker 4: of thing, not as cut and dry as you're not
- 1:30:03Speaker 4: playing good, you're gonna be bench like it's going to
- 1:30:05Speaker 4: be way more complicated than that. Yeah, I think so.
- 1:30:08Speaker 3: Yeah, Alex in Englewood, New Jersey, on this.
- 1:30:12Speaker 5: Is curious about his level of confidence that you don't
- 1:30:15Speaker 5: think that there's a chance that he doesn't play well
- 1:30:17Speaker 5: when they replace.
- 1:30:18Speaker 3: Him, Like I said, it would have to be really
- 1:30:20Speaker 3: putrid like last year. Well but last year if you repeat,
- 1:30:27Speaker 3: I know, last half of last year.
- 1:30:28Speaker 4: Fact. I think he's getting replaced. I know.
- 1:30:30Speaker 3: But if he had not had the injury, I don't
- 1:30:33Speaker 3: think he would have ever been replaced.
- 1:30:34Speaker 4: Oh I do.
- 1:30:35Speaker 5: If he kept playing the way he played in the
- 1:30:36Speaker 5: first three games, I think he was going to get replaced.
- 1:30:38Speaker 3: I don't think so, because remember when he got injured,
- 1:30:41Speaker 3: that was his best game.
- 1:30:43Speaker 4: I know.
- 1:30:43Speaker 5: Yeah, and it's still involved three interceptions.
- 1:30:45Speaker 3: I know that THEO was playing better. I think I
- 1:30:48Speaker 3: don't think if he had that injury, we would have
- 1:30:51Speaker 3: been talking about Bailey Zappy last year.
- 1:30:53Speaker 4: I just I don't know. I don't know if there
- 1:30:54Speaker 4: was an offense to be gotten last year, So I don't,
- 1:30:56Speaker 4: you know, I don't even know if he could, like
- 1:30:58Speaker 4: I agree with that, but I don't think.
- 1:31:01Speaker 3: Uh, let's see, well, I think let's see how close
- 1:31:05Speaker 3: they are in camp, you know. So anyway, Alex in Engleland,
- 1:31:10Speaker 3: New Jersey, in a slow football day, I want to
- 1:31:12Speaker 3: know who would be on your top five greatest Boston athletes.
- 1:31:15Speaker 3: These are people you've watched across all teams that you
- 1:31:18Speaker 3: believe helped carry the legacy that is Boston sports in
- 1:31:21Speaker 3: their dominance. Very interesting to see who you all choose
- 1:31:24Speaker 3: in looking forward to Evan scoffing at everyone's list thinking
- 1:31:28Speaker 3: his is the best.
- 1:31:31Speaker 4: Eric I know. Of course, are we talking about all time?
- 1:31:36Speaker 4: Do you have to did you have to see him
- 1:31:38Speaker 4: play too? Because that seems like that might have been
- 1:31:39Speaker 4: part of the part of the equation.
- 1:31:42Speaker 3: It's like you could say Ted Williams, but none of
- 1:31:43Speaker 3: us saw him play.
- 1:31:44Speaker 4: Yeah, that's true.
- 1:31:47Speaker 6: As the top five or are we doing Mount Rushmore?
- 1:31:49Speaker 4: I'm gonna do just ones I've seen. I'm Tom Brady.
- 1:31:52Speaker 6: No, absolutely not.
- 1:31:54Speaker 4: Am I allowed to say that. Ray Bork's on there
- 1:31:56Speaker 4: for me for me, Ray Bor for me? For me?
- 1:32:00Speaker 5: It's his list.
- 1:32:01Speaker 3: Who had playing the role of Evan?
- 1:32:03Speaker 15: What?
- 1:32:03Speaker 5: Who had friend? Who had fred scoffing at someone's list?
- 1:32:06Speaker 6: Yeah right, I mean I.
- 1:32:07Speaker 4: Would have said Bobby or if but I had I
- 1:32:09Speaker 4: never saw him play, so I got I gotta stick
- 1:32:10Speaker 4: to guys I.
- 1:32:11Speaker 3: See, I saw a little bit, so I can say
- 1:32:13Speaker 3: Bobby or Yeah. Yeah, I would say Brady Bird.
- 1:32:18Speaker 4: Yeah I saw Bird play Bird.
- 1:32:19Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 1:32:20Speaker 4: Like once, maybe.
- 1:32:24Speaker 5: Your lack of basketball knowledge.
- 1:32:25Speaker 4: I actually was a little bit of a basketball fan
- 1:32:27Speaker 4: in the eighties though, when they you know.
- 1:32:28Speaker 6: Oh when they were good, when yeah, they're not good now,
- 1:32:31Speaker 6: I mean makes sense, Yeah they're good now.
- 1:32:33Speaker 4: He was a kid.
- 1:32:35Speaker 6: Yeah, I heard you guys talking Celtics earlier, which I
- 1:32:37Speaker 6: was upset about because I didn't get to to I.
- 1:32:39Speaker 4: Know, we should have been playing about something.
- 1:32:41Speaker 5: So then you heard I was. I came.
- 1:32:43Speaker 4: I told Alex I sitting there watching the first half
- 1:32:46Speaker 4: last night, and I was all prepared.
- 1:32:48Speaker 5: I was like, Wow, he finally did it. He stayed
- 1:32:51Speaker 5: out of the way he did what he could do,
- 1:32:53Speaker 5: and look at how well Mark or Smart is playing.
- 1:32:56Speaker 5: And then ten minutes stretch of the third quarter happened,
- 1:32:58Speaker 5: and I said, I gotta take everything bad.
- 1:33:00Speaker 4: I forgot.
- 1:33:01Speaker 6: Yeah. But of course, if you you know, tell Green
- 1:33:03Speaker 6: teamers that is because in the third quarter they sagged
- 1:33:07Speaker 6: off of him to defend the passing lanes because he
- 1:33:09Speaker 6: was passing so well, so he had no choice but
- 1:33:12Speaker 6: to chuck up a bunch of threes like there.
- 1:33:16Speaker 3: I mean, so Februne's in the lane, lets someone else
- 1:33:18Speaker 3: shoot the three.
- 1:33:20Speaker 6: You know, they're just taking what the defense is given him. Friend,
- 1:33:22Speaker 6: that's what he's doing.
- 1:33:24Speaker 3: David Ortiz, Yeah he should be up there.
- 1:33:28Speaker 4: I would put Pedro, yeah, I mean.
- 1:33:33Speaker 3: Clemens, but they never won a championship.
- 1:33:36Speaker 5: Yeah, I would put Clemens ahead of Watiz too, even
- 1:33:38Speaker 5: though won a lot of titles.
- 1:33:40Speaker 4: But yeah, I would put Pedro above all of them.
- 1:33:43Speaker 4: Why are you not, David Ortiza?
- 1:33:45Speaker 5: I love, but I'm just just yeah, no, I just
- 1:33:49Speaker 5: I'm just talking about individual great like I think Mandy
- 1:33:51Speaker 5: was better than but had the moments.
- 1:33:54Speaker 4: Yeah, that to me, what was I guess it is
- 1:33:56Speaker 4: more of a casual fan, you know, like that's what
- 1:33:58Speaker 4: you remember is like, God, you know basis loaded top
- 1:34:02Speaker 4: of the tenth, the bottom of the ten. You know,
- 1:34:04Speaker 4: he's the one usually usually because many doubled ahead of him.
- 1:34:07Speaker 3: I mean, Bobby Orr was you gotta he's gotta be
- 1:34:11Speaker 3: up there?
- 1:34:12Speaker 5: Oh my god, that's I could probably put Bobby Or
- 1:34:15Speaker 5: I didn't really see by the time I got to
- 1:34:17Speaker 5: see him play, he.
- 1:34:18Speaker 3: Was just watch the highlight.
- 1:34:19Speaker 5: No, obviously I know all about it. But I could
- 1:34:21Speaker 5: do that with Ted Williams too, Like I'm trying to
- 1:34:24Speaker 5: just do players that I actually watched player.
- 1:34:26Speaker 3: But Bobby Or transcended the things of the game.
- 1:34:30Speaker 4: He changed the game.
- 1:34:31Speaker 3: He built the hockey rinks, you know, Like I mean
- 1:34:34Speaker 3: hockey rinks were built because of Bobby Wore.
- 1:34:37Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean all that's true. I just didn't really
- 1:34:39Speaker 5: get to see him do it.
- 1:34:40Speaker 4: That's how it was in LA with Gretzky too. There's
- 1:34:42Speaker 4: just you could like every every hockey rink you go
- 1:34:44Speaker 4: to around l A, there's some kind of impact from
- 1:34:46Speaker 4: Wayne gret Like if there's a green Gretzky on.
- 1:34:48Speaker 6: The front of we're not going to compare l A,
- 1:34:51Speaker 6: you know.
- 1:34:53Speaker 5: But the phenomenon that you're talking about I totally get
- 1:34:56Speaker 5: one player comes and he made it cool for people
- 1:34:59Speaker 5: in l even to think about hockey.
- 1:35:01Speaker 4: I wonder if it was Bobby or the empty C
- 1:35:03Speaker 4: ranks that are that litter our state that I played
- 1:35:06Speaker 4: many many that.
- 1:35:07Speaker 5: Was all the same.
- 1:35:08Speaker 4: They were all built in the early to mid seventies.
- 1:35:10Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:35:11Speaker 4: Yeah, it's like you never know which one you're into.
- 1:35:14Speaker 5: All the same with that that like brownish cinder block
- 1:35:18Speaker 5: sides with like the brown like metallity, you know, all built.
- 1:35:22Speaker 4: I love every one of them.
- 1:35:24Speaker 5: Yeah, because even our ranking ever, we had an MPTC ranking. Ever,
- 1:35:27Speaker 5: it was outdoor. It was an outdoor rink like so
- 1:35:30Speaker 5: they had no sides. I obviously had a roof. And
- 1:35:32Speaker 5: then then we did the whole thing like right around that.
- 1:35:35Speaker 4: Real hockey was in basketball courts.
- 1:35:38Speaker 5: Everyone was duncan.
- 1:35:41Speaker 6: Yeah, what do you have, Evan, I'm pretty young, so
- 1:35:44Speaker 6: I don't really have like I would say Tom Brady obviously.
- 1:35:49Speaker 6: If I had to say, like just like dominant athletes, like,
- 1:35:51Speaker 6: I'd probably put Nancy Kerrigan. Of course, know I'd probably
- 1:35:55Speaker 6: put Gronk on on my list, just in terms of
- 1:35:57Speaker 6: pure dominance. I gave some thoughts sport, you know, the
- 1:36:02Speaker 6: the Bruins in the in the Red Sox, i'd go
- 1:36:06Speaker 6: Pager or Teas. Also the Bruins and the Celtics. I
- 1:36:09Speaker 6: don't know if they've in my lifetime had a truly
- 1:36:12Speaker 6: pat a truly like legendary Bobby or I.
- 1:36:18Speaker 4: Don't think they have.
- 1:36:19Speaker 14: No.
- 1:36:19Speaker 4: I mean, I mean cam Neely could have.
- 1:36:21Speaker 6: Been, but yeah I was, and I was pretty young
- 1:36:24Speaker 6: for cam Neely. But when I will say, just as
- 1:36:28Speaker 6: a Celtics fan, growing up a diehard Celtics fan still,
- 1:36:31Speaker 6: you know, when Kevin Garnett came here, it was a
- 1:36:33Speaker 6: short period of time that he was here, but he
- 1:36:36Speaker 6: changed the entire culture of the Celtics in eight I
- 1:36:39Speaker 6: mean he came in and it was a completely different
- 1:36:42Speaker 6: vibe around the team.
- 1:36:43Speaker 3: By the way, Kevin Garnett really good actor. Like the
- 1:36:48Speaker 3: commercials he sells it. He's really good job. No, he's
- 1:36:54Speaker 3: a good actor.
- 1:36:56Speaker 6: I look at the Celtics now and I look at
- 1:36:58Speaker 6: a guy like Jason Tate him, you know, just kind
- 1:37:02Speaker 6: of starving for like that Kevin Garnett big brother.
- 1:37:06Speaker 4: That's just gonna be like.
- 1:37:09Speaker 6: Like today, we're not doing this, like we're not going
- 1:37:12Speaker 6: to give up forty six points in a third quarter
- 1:37:13Speaker 6: in the Eastern Conference.
- 1:37:14Speaker 4: Finals, like this isn't happening, mcinness.
- 1:37:17Speaker 6: Yeah, you know, And I think that al Horford tries
- 1:37:19Speaker 6: to play that role for him now, But I don't
- 1:37:21Speaker 6: know if al Horford has the cache that that KG
- 1:37:25Speaker 6: had for Paul Pierce. But Paul Pierce became a totally
- 1:37:27Speaker 6: different player when Kevin Garnett got here, and I feel
- 1:37:31Speaker 6: like the Celtics team needs that a little bit.
- 1:37:34Speaker 3: I remember, you know, there was that game where Cedric
- 1:37:38Speaker 3: Maxwell said, hey, everybody again on my shoulders.
- 1:37:41Speaker 5: And he that game, yeah four finals.
- 1:37:44Speaker 3: Well yeah, and he played great. I don't think al
- 1:37:47Speaker 3: Horford can.
- 1:37:47Speaker 4: Do that, you know what I mean?
- 1:37:48Speaker 5: Oh god, no, Yeah, Maxwell was a vastly superior player
- 1:37:53Speaker 5: to al Horford.
- 1:37:54Speaker 4: Plus, like Garnett and Willie so scary, like they're just
- 1:37:57Speaker 4: intimidating kind of present.
- 1:37:59Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 1:37:59Speaker 7: I like.
- 1:38:01Speaker 5: Brady Brady Bird Pedro to me is a solid three.
- 1:38:05Speaker 5: But I would have like Gronk would get a lot
- 1:38:07Speaker 5: of consideration for me to be a fourth.
- 1:38:09Speaker 6: Yeah, I mean, my favorite Patriot but besides Brady was
- 1:38:13Speaker 6: Randy Moss. But it was so short that I don't
- 1:38:16Speaker 6: know if I would necessarily put him on a mount
- 1:38:18Speaker 6: rushmore of Boston athletes, but Massage was up there as well.
- 1:38:23Speaker 6: In terms of just pure Andy.
- 1:38:25Speaker 5: I could put Bergier on there, but that would just
- 1:38:27Speaker 5: be a sentimental favorite. He's not at that talent level
- 1:38:30Speaker 5: of those other guys.
- 1:38:32Speaker 3: Andy and Cleveland. Boy, it's gonna be seven to ten
- 1:38:35Speaker 3: this year. That's gonna be tough, like you guys said.
- 1:38:37Speaker 3: Hopefully that at least includes some comfort behind scoring thirty
- 1:38:41Speaker 3: points on offense a few times in positive signs for Mac.
- 1:38:45Speaker 3: I'm just disappointed that this is how the Belichick era
- 1:38:47Speaker 3: is going down, and he'll always be remembered without hit
- 1:38:51Speaker 3: with his without Brady win percentage. When Brady left and
- 1:38:55Speaker 3: won a Super Bowl, I honestly had hoped Bill would
- 1:38:58Speaker 3: get one, uh one or two inside of three years,
- 1:39:02Speaker 3: because I've always been on the side of it's both
- 1:39:05Speaker 3: of them on the was it.
- 1:39:07Speaker 4: Bill or Tom debate?
- 1:39:08Speaker 3: You're on the right side, then at least we'll always
- 1:39:10Speaker 3: have the world's longest running podcast.
- 1:39:12Speaker 4: Appreciate your coverage.
- 1:39:14Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean it's always going to be because of
- 1:39:17Speaker 5: both of them.
- 1:39:18Speaker 4: Yeah. Is it weird that I was surprised last night
- 1:39:20Speaker 4: that Bill got like a really big round of applause.
- 1:39:23Speaker 6: The Celtics crowd loves Bill. Yeah, yeah, always does.
- 1:39:27Speaker 5: We get sing about who those Celtics fans are.
- 1:39:31Speaker 22: I mean that's by far and away the most honked
- 1:39:35Speaker 22: of the four sports. Well, they're the number one rated
- 1:39:37Speaker 22: fan base and that just that does not that does
- 1:39:40Speaker 22: not surprise Players Association.
- 1:39:42Speaker 5: Yeah, that does not surprise me at all. That is
- 1:39:44Speaker 5: like one thousand you were against us, like that is all.
- 1:39:50Speaker 6: That is always always awesome.
- 1:39:53Speaker 5: Those are your people, though people, Yet somehow they still
- 1:39:55Speaker 5: get called out by Jalen Brown. I agree with everything
- 1:40:00Speaker 5: Evan just a su.
- 1:40:01Speaker 6: Jaalen Brown has got a complicated relationship with Celtics fan
- 1:40:04Speaker 6: so I know.
- 1:40:06Speaker 3: That Chris and Kofax California. I'm one that believes the
- 1:40:10Speaker 3: addition of Billy Oh will make a massive difference on
- 1:40:13Speaker 3: the offense. I think the weapons are actually solid. The
- 1:40:16Speaker 3: way I look going from Matt Patricia to Billy Oh
- 1:40:19Speaker 3: is like giving decent ingredients to a McDonald's cook for
- 1:40:22Speaker 3: his giving the same ingredients to Gordon Ramsey. If Matt
- 1:40:25Speaker 3: can be even a decent quarterback, our offense should be
- 1:40:28Speaker 3: good enough to contend for a playoff. When second, I
- 1:40:32Speaker 3: really wish the Patriots would stop with the rookies earned numbers. Nonsense.
- 1:40:37Speaker 3: I want to get a Gonzales number zero jersey. But
- 1:40:40Speaker 3: I have a feeling some jag special teamer will get
- 1:40:43Speaker 3: the number because he can't.
- 1:40:45Speaker 4: Take it yet. No, just wait, he'll have a fifty jersey.
- 1:40:48Speaker 4: Probably why do you want?
- 1:40:49Speaker 5: That won't be the reason because he won't be a lot.
- 1:40:53Speaker 5: Someone else might want zero instead of him, like Jack Jones,
- 1:40:57Speaker 5: who has been on Twitter saying that. But the rookies
- 1:41:01Speaker 5: can get their numbers once, like training camp is over.
- 1:41:04Speaker 4: Yeah, once for the first preseason game, they'll have them. Yeah,
- 1:41:06Speaker 4: but they'll wear fifty through sixty whatever. Right, does anybody
- 1:41:10Speaker 4: in twenty four right now?
- 1:41:12Speaker 5: No?
- 1:41:12Speaker 4: Well, chessh Blotzo Josh Blotze too much. I'd love to
- 1:41:18Speaker 4: see him in zero. That'll be fun.
- 1:41:20Speaker 5: Put four now that could that could happen too, because
- 1:41:23Speaker 5: maybe Jack Jones, you know, who's got to start at
- 1:41:26Speaker 5: square one after being suspended last Let's focus.
- 1:41:28Speaker 3: On James Pettigrew, the most interesting Patriots fan in the world,
- 1:41:32Speaker 3: says Fred. We have a phrase in the army hope
- 1:41:35Speaker 3: is not a course of action.
- 1:41:38Speaker 4: Well, I'm not the one podcast. I'm just watching I'm not.
- 1:41:42Speaker 5: Making running the world's original podcast. We're not We're not
- 1:41:45Speaker 5: worried about saving a nation.
- 1:41:48Speaker 3: And also he writes in who is the best sports
- 1:41:50Speaker 3: person you guys have ever faced? When I lived in
- 1:41:53Speaker 3: New Hampshire, I became friends with the Dartmouth squash coach,
- 1:41:56Speaker 3: a German who was ranked fifth in the world a
- 1:41:58Speaker 3: few years earlier. I played a few games against him,
- 1:42:01Speaker 3: and I didn't even get close to winning a single point.
- 1:42:03Speaker 4: Oh that's how Gil count. You should have count. I
- 1:42:09Speaker 4: got a bunch of I got a lot of hockey
- 1:42:12Speaker 4: players that I mean. I played with Tom PODi, who
- 1:42:14Speaker 4: went on to but those were he was a defenseman.
- 1:42:15Speaker 4: I'm trying to think of just like a really slick
- 1:42:17Speaker 4: offensive player, like, yeah, who made you look bad?
- 1:42:21Speaker 14: No?
- 1:42:22Speaker 4: I mean people, plenty of people, but nobody famous.
- 1:42:24Speaker 5: I faced a lot of former Major League Baseball players.
- 1:42:29Speaker 5: The best one was probably Jeff Bagwell, and I got
- 1:42:32Speaker 5: him to hit a ball about eight thousand miles in
- 1:42:34Speaker 5: the air, popped up to second base. Oh yeah, just
- 1:42:37Speaker 5: missed it, just missed it.
- 1:42:39Speaker 4: There's gotta be one.
- 1:42:41Speaker 5: But when we played Miami, like Charles Johnson, Orlando palmeirow
- 1:42:47Speaker 5: FP Santangele. They had like five or six Alex Fernandez.
- 1:42:51Speaker 5: They had a lot of guys that like four years
- 1:42:53Speaker 5: later were in Major League Baseball. Not surprising, we lost
- 1:42:56Speaker 5: seventeen to nothing in twenty five to one.
- 1:43:00Speaker 4: Pitching. Pitching.
- 1:43:01Speaker 6: Yeah, you guys don't know any of them. Lacrosse players,
- 1:43:06Speaker 6: Yeah stuff, Thank god.
- 1:43:09Speaker 15: No.
- 1:43:10Speaker 6: I played against a lot of lacrosse players that have
- 1:43:12Speaker 6: like Massachusetts state records and stuff like that. So some
- 1:43:16Speaker 6: of those guys definitely made me look like I had
- 1:43:19Speaker 6: cinder blocks.
- 1:43:22Speaker 3: But I played against a tennis player who was like
- 1:43:25Speaker 3: ranked three hundred in the world, and it was like
- 1:43:26Speaker 3: I couldn't even touch it, sir.
- 1:43:27Speaker 4: Th And yeah, right, just.
- 1:43:31Speaker 7: I was.
- 1:43:32Speaker 3: He was a Dunlop rep. And so I was running
- 1:43:36Speaker 3: this tennis program and he came down like with rackets
- 1:43:38Speaker 3: to like sell and but he was also a player,
- 1:43:41Speaker 3: so he you know, three hundred, you're not making a
- 1:43:43Speaker 3: lot of money, so you have to have a side job.
- 1:43:45Speaker 3: So he was working with Dunlop and we played and
- 1:43:48Speaker 3: like it was like he had this kick serve that
- 1:43:50Speaker 3: would just go over my head.
- 1:43:52Speaker 4: You know, those ghost crazy tennis players, especially on the Cape.
- 1:43:55Speaker 4: Winn and some of those guys like the pros.
- 1:43:56Speaker 5: That's what Fred did.
- 1:43:57Speaker 4: Andy really just had no chance.
- 1:44:00Speaker 5: I wish they couldn't and he couldn't touch his serve.
- 1:44:04Speaker 4: Not these days, well maybe in pickball abomination.
- 1:44:09Speaker 6: These days we're going to get Fred into pickleball.
- 1:44:11Speaker 3: No, you don't have to run, David writes in question
- 1:44:16Speaker 3: for Evan, he says, even as a Bruins hater, I
- 1:44:19Speaker 3: have to ask who told Evan that Pastornak isn't.
- 1:44:22Speaker 4: A goal store scorer.
- 1:44:23Speaker 3: I'm still not over that comment, especially considering hockey's my
- 1:44:26Speaker 3: favorite sport. Everyone recognizes Pasta as an excellent player, and
- 1:44:30Speaker 3: I'm not sure who was saying.
- 1:44:32Speaker 5: Excellent an excellent goal scorer.
- 1:44:34Speaker 6: I think he's got this backward.
- 1:44:36Speaker 5: This was about goal scoring.
- 1:44:37Speaker 6: I think he's got this backward. So I was making
- 1:44:41Speaker 6: fun of Paul's shows, correct.
- 1:44:43Speaker 4: And that's what he's asking you. Who said that he's
- 1:44:45Speaker 4: not a goal scorer your show?
- 1:44:48Speaker 5: And I was being sarcastic, And having heard the next
- 1:44:52Speaker 5: three weeks, they continue to rip the crap out of
- 1:44:55Speaker 5: past Arch and no one says that he can't score goals,
- 1:44:58Speaker 5: I've heard, like I typically wanted to listen because I'm like,
- 1:45:01Speaker 5: what did I miss?
- 1:45:02Speaker 6: How did I disappears in the playoffs? Which he's inaccurate? Okay,
- 1:45:08Speaker 6: he's a he's a pointed game guy in the playoffs.
- 1:45:10Speaker 6: He was a net drag in the playoffs. He did
- 1:45:12Speaker 6: not play well. I don't care how nobody played well.
- 1:45:15Speaker 5: I don't care. I don't care how he was this coursey.
- 1:45:19Speaker 6: Oh god, there were like two or three guys on
- 1:45:21Speaker 6: the Bruins that played well, and that's.
- 1:45:23Speaker 5: And some of them will go on the wrong way
- 1:45:25Speaker 5: and overtime letting the puck go off the back of
- 1:45:27Speaker 5: their skate to cost you a game. Like there's a
- 1:45:29Speaker 5: difference between not playing well and doing things that are
- 1:45:32Speaker 5: directly responsible for you losing, Like berge Round was on
- 1:45:35Speaker 5: the ice for the last I don't know, he didn't
- 1:45:36Speaker 5: really he didn't turn the puck over and give it
- 1:45:38Speaker 5: to someone in the slot to win the game. There's
- 1:45:41Speaker 5: a difference.
- 1:45:41Speaker 6: I'm not sure how I got labeled as the one
- 1:45:43Speaker 6: that doesn't like poster knock. I think that was that
- 1:45:45Speaker 6: email or Scott got this argument totally.
- 1:45:48Speaker 5: That's not what the emailer said. He said, where did
- 1:45:51Speaker 5: you ever hear that he couldn't score goals? He's asking
- 1:45:54Speaker 5: you okay.
- 1:45:55Speaker 6: Show that that comment was clearly sarcastic.
- 1:46:00Speaker 4: I was exaggerating the point.
- 1:46:02Speaker 5: Emailer, Emailer, I understood what you were saying.
- 1:46:05Speaker 4: I did not. Thanks for the email.
- 1:46:06Speaker 5: He wasn't suggesting that you said he couldn't score goals.
- 1:46:09Speaker 5: He was suggesting no one has ever said.
- 1:46:11Speaker 4: That a certain person. Oh and it looks like according
- 1:46:18Speaker 4: to Greet, the preseason schedule has been finalized.
- 1:46:21Speaker 6: Actually according to us.
- 1:46:22Speaker 4: According to us, we asked that, all right, yeah for
- 1:46:24Speaker 4: our listeners Thursday August tenth versus the Texans seven pm.
- 1:46:28Speaker 4: Then Saturday, August nineteenth at Packers eight pm. Friday the
- 1:46:33Speaker 4: twenty fifth. We knew that twenty fifteen.
- 1:46:34Speaker 5: It just gets worse Thursday, Saturday Friday about.
- 1:46:37Speaker 4: I'm in trouble.
- 1:46:38Speaker 6: Why we have tickets to Zach brownband on the nineteenth.
- 1:46:42Speaker 4: Oh you can't miss that?
- 1:46:44Speaker 13: So you know?
- 1:46:45Speaker 4: Is it in Green Bay?
- 1:46:46Speaker 6: It's no police to Bay. And he's doing one show,
- 1:46:51Speaker 6: not Taylor Swift. He's not going to be there for
- 1:46:53Speaker 6: three straight.
- 1:46:55Speaker 3: You're going to Green.
- 1:46:56Speaker 4: Bay's right, we'll be there already.
- 1:47:00Speaker 5: Oh, maybe we got to get him better.
- 1:47:02Speaker 3: You have to stay for the game.
- 1:47:03Speaker 4: Is Zach Brown here? I could be talked in this thing.
- 1:47:09Speaker 5: And we could definitely do that if you really wanted to.
- 1:47:11Speaker 5: We could talk about it off.
- 1:47:12Speaker 4: We could figure that out.
- 1:47:14Speaker 5: I mean, it is just the preseason.
- 1:47:15Speaker 4: I mean it's his job, so I think he needs
- 1:47:17Speaker 4: to be there. Okay, you know me, I'll be in
- 1:47:19Speaker 4: Green Bay. Thanks for the Okay, you want to go?
- 1:47:24Speaker 4: You have to speak Evan this whole thing where he's like, oh,
- 1:47:27Speaker 4: I'm in so much trouble, and he's like, I love
- 1:47:29Speaker 4: my job so much.
- 1:47:31Speaker 5: I thought you really okay, Like I don't know, you.
- 1:47:34Speaker 4: Rather do go to a Zach Man concert or go
- 1:47:36Speaker 4: see the Patriots playing the Packers in the preseason? Preseason?
- 1:47:39Speaker 4: Of course?
- 1:47:40Speaker 5: Have you ever been to Lambo?
- 1:47:42Speaker 4: Yeah? Last year? Oh that's right, yeah, first time last year.
- 1:47:45Speaker 5: Then you should go to the Zach Brown.
- 1:47:48Speaker 3: Karen writes in just curious, what are your thoughts on
- 1:47:50Speaker 3: trading for Mike Evans? Could we get him for a
- 1:47:53Speaker 3: second or third Parker and Born? He would be an
- 1:47:56Speaker 3: upgrade over Parker and would uh something for our late
- 1:48:00Speaker 3: round picks.
- 1:48:02Speaker 4: Just wanted to throw a new name in the ring.
- 1:48:04Speaker 4: Why is he available?
- 1:48:06Speaker 5: I don't know, but I'm not I could stand on
- 1:48:11Speaker 5: an island one that I don't that's okay.
- 1:48:13Speaker 4: I guess I don't know. Maybe if I'm just sick
- 1:48:15Speaker 4: of it, but I just want to see what they
- 1:48:16Speaker 4: got now with what they got, and let's get those guys.
- 1:48:18Speaker 5: Just don't think he fits what they do now, Okay,
- 1:48:22Speaker 5: that's what we tried to do last year. Let's just
- 1:48:23Speaker 5: throw bombs down the sideline up for grabs, like, yeah,
- 1:48:27Speaker 5: he's he'll catch more of them, probably than Parker would.
- 1:48:29Speaker 5: But yeah, I'd like to see him go in a
- 1:48:32Speaker 5: different direction.
- 1:48:34Speaker 3: Uh, it seems this is Rick and havel h. It
- 1:48:38Speaker 3: seems to me that the AFC East is going to
- 1:48:40Speaker 3: mirror the American League East in baseball. Every team is good,
- 1:48:44Speaker 3: but there's a chance that the two Boston teams may
- 1:48:46Speaker 3: wind up in last place. Seriously, in your opinion, what
- 1:48:50Speaker 3: individual group needs to make the biggest difference for the
- 1:48:53Speaker 3: Patriots to make the playoffs?
- 1:48:55Speaker 4: Quarterback? Yeah, yeah, yeah, And that's what it is.
- 1:48:59Speaker 3: You can't say the quarterback is the most important position
- 1:49:02Speaker 3: in the field and not say that that's going to
- 1:49:04Speaker 3: make the most difference.
- 1:49:05Speaker 4: He's got to pick up this new offense. He's got
- 1:49:07Speaker 4: to just look like I'd love to see him a
- 1:49:08Speaker 4: week from today, and he just looks comfortable and it
- 1:49:11Speaker 4: just seems like, all right, he's going through reads, you
- 1:49:13Speaker 4: get the balls coming out quick.
- 1:49:14Speaker 6: You know.
- 1:49:15Speaker 4: Just does he look comfortable and on board? And if
- 1:49:18Speaker 4: he can carry that into camp and into the season.
- 1:49:22Speaker 3: Jonah says, I'm very enthusiastic about our chances of having
- 1:49:26Speaker 3: a much improved offense this year with Bill O'Brien. I
- 1:49:30Speaker 3: think our wide receiving corps is solid enough. However, I
- 1:49:33Speaker 3: am having a hard time thinking of any young quarterback
- 1:49:36Speaker 3: in recent history he become a successful one without a
- 1:49:39Speaker 3: wr one already being on the roster, or the team
- 1:49:43Speaker 3: adding prior to adding prior to their breakout season. Example
- 1:49:48Speaker 3: Josh Allen and Diggs hurts and he goes down the list.
- 1:49:51Speaker 3: Lamar is the only exception I can think of. However,
- 1:49:54Speaker 3: He's uniquely gifted. This isn't to say we can't judge
- 1:49:59Speaker 3: Mac without one, but it would be interesting to see
- 1:50:02Speaker 3: him with one.
- 1:50:03Speaker 4: What year did the Bills get the three dig Diggs?
- 1:50:06Speaker 8: Yeah?
- 1:50:07Speaker 4: Year three?
- 1:50:08Speaker 3: Yeah. And you know, to be fair, it's a little
- 1:50:12Speaker 3: Josh Allen was iffy up until that point.
- 1:50:15Speaker 6: He was like his second season was pretty good. Numbers
- 1:50:19Speaker 6: to the second season. They he had solidified himself in
- 1:50:23Speaker 6: year two as like I'm a guy and then obviously
- 1:50:25Speaker 6: Digs took him to the next level. I think that,
- 1:50:28Speaker 6: you know, a guy like Jalen Hurts, it was somebody
- 1:50:30Speaker 6: that was maybe a little bit more wishy washy. I
- 1:50:33Speaker 6: remember being out there at joint practices in Philly and
- 1:50:36Speaker 6: they weren't totally sure that Jalen Hurts was gonna be.
- 1:50:39Speaker 5: They weren't totally short heading into left.
- 1:50:41Speaker 6: Yeah. Yeah, So I think a j Brown it kind
- 1:50:43Speaker 6: of he took off with with Jalen Hurts. I'm with
- 1:50:48Speaker 6: Paul on this one. I think Alan was already on
- 1:50:50Speaker 6: an upward ascension and then he got Digs in that and.
- 1:50:54Speaker 4: Like and we always say there's there's plenty of ways
- 1:50:56Speaker 4: to skin a cat, but I think like these examples
- 1:50:58Speaker 4: are just, hey, we know we've got the guy at quarterback.
- 1:51:01Speaker 4: It's going to be worth our investment to go out
- 1:51:03Speaker 4: and get one of these, you know, top ranked receivers.
- 1:51:07Speaker 4: Of course you have, I mean, like, what's what's the
- 1:51:09Speaker 4: kid in? Like, what's Herbert? You know? I mean it
- 1:51:12Speaker 4: kind of had Keenan Allen and Mike Williams waiting there
- 1:51:14Speaker 4: are either one of those guys and why not really,
- 1:51:15Speaker 4: but it was enough for him to Like what you said,
- 1:51:18Speaker 4: the stats, I meaneah, thirty plus touchdowns, and I do
- 1:51:21Speaker 4: think listen, and I'm just looking from year two to
- 1:51:23Speaker 4: year three. I mean it was twenty touchdowns, nine picks
- 1:51:26Speaker 4: his in his second year and it went to thirty
- 1:51:28Speaker 4: seven and ten. There's no denying the impact that those
- 1:51:31Speaker 4: guys have. Like, so I'm not dismissing you know, the
- 1:51:34Speaker 4: AJ Browns and the Stefan Diggs and the Tyreek Hills.
- 1:51:38Speaker 5: I think in Allen's case in particular, I think people
- 1:51:43Speaker 5: ignore the fact that he came in a raw rookie,
- 1:51:46Speaker 5: showed some promise, improved in year two, and was on
- 1:51:50Speaker 5: and upward trajectory when they got Stefan Diggs. Like I'm
- 1:51:53Speaker 5: not telling you that would have been exactly the same
- 1:51:55Speaker 5: had they not gotten Digs, but I think that he
- 1:51:58Speaker 5: would be like their quarterback hands down with it going
- 1:52:03Speaker 5: to the play they went to the playoffs.
- 1:52:04Speaker 6: Anyway, Yeah, like they they should have won that playoff.
- 1:52:07Speaker 5: Now, now maybe they were Super Bowl contender now because
- 1:52:10Speaker 5: they went out and got the guy. Yeah, but they
- 1:52:12Speaker 5: were good even with Josh Allen sort of be like,
- 1:52:16Speaker 5: and that's not to let the.
- 1:52:17Speaker 6: Patriots off the hook for not getting the guy either,
- 1:52:19Speaker 6: because I still think that Tua and Jalen Hurts model
- 1:52:22Speaker 6: of Tyreek Hill coming in and making what he is
- 1:52:26Speaker 6: is that's still a viable strategy either way. Either it
- 1:52:29Speaker 6: makes the quarterback Josh Allen and he goes from good
- 1:52:31Speaker 6: to elite, or it makes an average quarterback into an
- 1:52:35Speaker 6: above average quarterback because he's got these guys that he's
- 1:52:38Speaker 6: throwing to. So either either way, you you slice it
- 1:52:41Speaker 6: that getting the number one guy is something that they
- 1:52:43Speaker 6: didn't do this offseason that they still need to do
- 1:52:46Speaker 6: unless you project that Taye Kwon Thornton is gonna come
- 1:52:49Speaker 6: out of nowhere and be that guy for Mac moving forward.
- 1:52:53Speaker 4: But do you think they totally disagree with us like that?
- 1:52:55Speaker 4: I mean like that, I just wonder that, like they're like, yeah,
- 1:52:57Speaker 4: we don't.
- 1:52:58Speaker 6: I think certain Honestly, I think certain people in the
- 1:53:01Speaker 6: building do and certain people don't. I really do think
- 1:53:04Speaker 6: that there's a little bit of a of a general
- 1:53:06Speaker 6: divide in this just I mean, I know that there
- 1:53:10Speaker 6: is people in the building that believe in the number
- 1:53:13Speaker 6: one receiver. I think specifically believe in maximizing a rookie
- 1:53:17Speaker 6: contract at the quarterback position, and knowing that if you
- 1:53:20Speaker 6: are going to bring Mack into his second contract, it's
- 1:53:23Speaker 6: going to cost the team thirty plus million dollars a
- 1:53:26Speaker 6: year if he's serviceable as a starter like Daniel Jones level,
- 1:53:29Speaker 6: and that's going to be a part of that timeline.
- 1:53:33Speaker 6: You missed it, like you missed the window to then
- 1:53:35Speaker 6: get that guy in there. So they have one more
- 1:53:38Speaker 6: year really because it's fifth yeer option is going to
- 1:53:40Speaker 6: be pricey, so.
- 1:53:42Speaker 4: He has one more year, like they didn't do it. Like,
- 1:53:44Speaker 4: you know, you can talk about wanting to maximize a
- 1:53:46Speaker 4: rookie contract, but this is Mac year three now, and
- 1:53:49Speaker 4: you know, so at best, right, you're going to get
- 1:53:52Speaker 4: two years. I feel like that's builder. You're going to
- 1:53:55Speaker 4: pay him more.
- 1:53:56Speaker 6: The guy that's building the team thinks that they are
- 1:53:58Speaker 6: maximizing it because they have all the depth, right, they
- 1:54:01Speaker 6: have all these guys, you know, they have all these
- 1:54:02Speaker 6: bodies everywhere that and he feels like that that that
- 1:54:06Speaker 6: that middle class that we used to hear so much about.
- 1:54:09Speaker 6: But in terms of adding that elite top end talent,
- 1:54:12Speaker 6: you know, we talk about the draft like that. They
- 1:54:14Speaker 6: have to do it through the draft because they're not
- 1:54:15Speaker 6: going to spend.
- 1:54:16Speaker 4: For him, or they have to find a distressed asset
- 1:54:19Speaker 4: that they can get for a favorable deal, like you know,
- 1:54:22Speaker 4: like a Moss.
- 1:54:23Speaker 3: Or you know somebody who like a Kaishan Boody Hope,
- 1:54:26Speaker 3: so Ray writes in in Pennsylvania. The third band that
- 1:54:30Speaker 3: played with the Rolling Stones in Van Halen at the
- 1:54:33Speaker 3: Tangerine Bowl was.
- 1:54:34Speaker 4: The Henry Paul Band.
- 1:54:35Speaker 3: One of their most popular songs is gray Ghost, which
- 1:54:38Speaker 3: is dedicated to Lennet Skinner's Ronnie van zandt. I don't
- 1:54:42Speaker 3: remember that, but I'll take his word for it. Yeah,
- 1:54:46Speaker 3: I thought it was a more famous band, but.
- 1:54:48Speaker 4: He looked it up. Yeah, yep. I just remember. It's
- 1:54:53Speaker 4: a great concert. David Lee Roth like prime, right, Yeah,
- 1:54:57Speaker 4: I mean this is the Panama and yeah, it was.
- 1:55:00Speaker 4: It was great Van Helen. I'm just kidding.
- 1:55:05Speaker 5: I think it would have been before that, right, what
- 1:55:08Speaker 5: when you saw Van Halen? It was probably before Panama
- 1:55:10Speaker 5: and all that.
- 1:55:11Speaker 3: I I don't remember, yeah, I just I just I
- 1:55:18Speaker 3: know it was definitely the start me up tour for
- 1:55:20Speaker 3: the Stones. That's I have no doubt about that.
- 1:55:23Speaker 4: I know that song.
- 1:55:24Speaker 5: Yeah, that was like eighty one star.
- 1:55:26Speaker 3: There might have been eighty one. That might have been
- 1:55:28Speaker 3: the year.
- 1:55:28Speaker 5: Yeah, I think that would be before Panama.
- 1:55:30Speaker 4: Yeah was nineteen eighty four. No figure, Wait, what if.
- 1:55:36Speaker 3: We David writes in New Hampshire, just wondering if there
- 1:55:41Speaker 3: are any thoughts on moving cold strange to tackle.
- 1:55:45Speaker 4: No, I haven't heard of any.
- 1:55:48Speaker 6: This is this is in Malie Cunningham Territory for yeah,
- 1:55:53Speaker 6: just like, oh, like maybe we turned this guy into
- 1:55:56Speaker 6: a receiver and then he's a star, Like, no, he's
- 1:55:59Speaker 6: a guard.
- 1:56:00Speaker 4: I think he's a guard.
- 1:56:02Speaker 6: I'm not picking on the email or I have just this,
- 1:56:04Speaker 6: this theory has been floated. This is not a new
- 1:56:07Speaker 6: a New Patriots where these things floated in the Twitter.
- 1:56:11Speaker 4: The blog is ready because read.
- 1:56:14Speaker 5: And this is snarky Poul, but like in general, whenever
- 1:56:18Speaker 5: a guy doesn't immediately like hit a home run, it's
- 1:56:23Speaker 5: because he's in the wrong spot. It's not because maybe
- 1:56:26Speaker 5: he's not that good. It's because we need to play
- 1:56:29Speaker 5: him somewhere else. Yeah, it's like, you know, like Nikhil
- 1:56:33Speaker 5: Harry is a bust of a wide receiver. Three years
- 1:56:36Speaker 5: of let's move to tight end.
- 1:56:37Speaker 3: If you can be a good tackle. You can be
- 1:56:39Speaker 3: a good guard. For the most part. It's like cornerback
- 1:56:41Speaker 3: safety like safety's cornerbacks can play safety.
- 1:56:45Speaker 4: But if you're not a good corner, you're not going
- 1:56:47Speaker 4: to move from slaty safety where corner's going to die? Right?
- 1:56:50Speaker 7: Right?
- 1:56:51Speaker 3: Question for Evan and Mike for each of the following
- 1:56:54Speaker 3: If the two of you had a head to head,
- 1:56:56Speaker 3: who would win a wrap off?
- 1:56:58Speaker 4: Wrap off? You would win Evan like, Actually, I will
- 1:57:04Speaker 4: give Evan that one because Evan like younger.
- 1:57:06Speaker 6: I might be I might have better flow than Mike,
- 1:57:09Speaker 6: but he's got the creative gene.
- 1:57:11Speaker 4: Then I don't have.
- 1:57:12Speaker 3: About how about a Star Wars off?
- 1:57:15Speaker 4: Probably Mike, I'm older, Yeah, he and I've watched a
- 1:57:19Speaker 4: lot of stupid cartoon stuff with my kids. How about
- 1:57:21Speaker 4: Rock Paper Scissors? That's well that you know it's probably
- 1:57:24Speaker 4: me because that will be better with more scheme, And
- 1:57:26Speaker 4: you know I have a straight up game. I come
- 1:57:28Speaker 4: in with a game.
- 1:57:29Speaker 3: About thumb wrestling. I don't know, like nice, either of
- 1:57:34Speaker 3: you played poker.
- 1:57:35Speaker 4: And I have.
- 1:57:36Speaker 6: I mean, I've played poker, but I wouldn't say yeah,
- 1:57:38Speaker 6: I wouldn't say I play poker.
- 1:57:40Speaker 3: Okay, so neither of you claim to be a good
- 1:57:42Speaker 3: poker player.
- 1:57:43Speaker 4: About a foot race, like like running on that one?
- 1:57:48Speaker 4: Not even close? Are you fast?
- 1:57:50Speaker 13: No?
- 1:57:50Speaker 6: No, but I am very very slow.
- 1:57:53Speaker 3: About who can take the hardest shoulder punch?
- 1:57:56Speaker 4: Shoulder punch?
- 1:57:58Speaker 3: This is a weird question. Cameras are running. We could
- 1:58:01Speaker 3: do that one right now.
- 1:58:02Speaker 4: I never thought of that.
- 1:58:04Speaker 3: How about it just a dance dance out. He's very rhythmic,
- 1:58:11Speaker 3: and I'm not going to do the final one because
- 1:58:13Speaker 3: it's something off. But I can't say it.
- 1:58:15Speaker 4: Oh, I would just say that because because Alex Bart
- 1:58:19Speaker 4: took a turn standing next to us. There was a
- 1:58:20Speaker 4: video of Evan and Alex that what was it, Evan
- 1:58:22Speaker 4: like the Super Bowl Experience Super Bowl Experience where Evan
- 1:58:25Speaker 4: and Alex had like a foot race. I was in jeans.
- 1:58:27Speaker 4: I didn't stretch.
- 1:58:29Speaker 6: No, I'm just kidding.
- 1:58:30Speaker 4: I got that, I think, I replied. All I could
- 1:58:34Speaker 4: reply was Jesus, guys, I I am one of the
- 1:58:38Speaker 4: slowest people you've ever met.
- 1:58:40Speaker 3: Are you here for the Brian Moy Dave Grisoli sprint?
- 1:58:44Speaker 3: It was like three in the morning after a game.
- 1:58:46Speaker 5: I believe that was another one. I did play by
- 1:58:48Speaker 5: play on okay, Yeah, that was fun.
- 1:58:50Speaker 4: Three cone drill, that's my dance. Great old camera that
- 1:58:55Speaker 4: that Dave said that we had for cyber I like
- 1:58:58Speaker 4: xcel R or something like that.
- 1:59:00Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah it was white yeah, excel Yeah, yeah, good Paul.
- 1:59:04Speaker 4: Yeah, I actually had the camera on for that and
- 1:59:06Speaker 4: was doing play.
- 1:59:07Speaker 3: I think it was only pulled his hands, I believe it.
- 1:59:11Speaker 5: Neither one of them was very How mad was Maury?
- 1:59:13Speaker 5: He must have just been fined, you know, how super serious?
- 1:59:15Speaker 3: Oh, they were both really competitive.
