- 0:01Speaker 1: It is true.
- 0:02Speaker 2: It is really Oh look, it's true that we have
- 0:06Speaker 2: Elena would with us?
- 0:07Speaker 1: Ay Elena? There she is? Ow are you?
- 0:13Speaker 3: I'm doing so good? Thank you? How are you? Oh?
- 0:15Speaker 2: I'm kind of tired today, but that's all right. I'll
- 0:19Speaker 2: work it out.
- 0:19Speaker 3: Sorry about it. No time to be tired, Bill.
- 0:21Speaker 1: You need to play.
- 0:22Speaker 2: I'm too tired to play right now, but I could
- 0:25Speaker 2: play later. Do you want to play?
- 0:29Speaker 3: Definitely?
- 0:30Speaker 1: Do Yeah?
- 0:31Speaker 2: Okay, what should we play?
- 0:34Speaker 3: You know, I have some really great suggestions for us,
- 0:37Speaker 3: and I feel like you're a pretty fun guy. So well, thanks,
- 0:40Speaker 3: it should work out great.
- 0:41Speaker 1: Okay, what are some of your suggestions?
- 0:45Speaker 3: Some of my suggestions. So my first recommendation is to
- 0:49Speaker 3: get outside. Nature is one of our very first playgrounds.
- 0:54Speaker 3: So give yourself an opportunity to explore. If you feel
- 0:59Speaker 3: up to it, maybe try climbing a tree or going
- 1:02Speaker 3: a little bit off trail to take a little bit
- 1:06Speaker 3: of an adventure. And of course, safety first, don't do
- 1:09Speaker 3: anything that you can't get yourself out of. But if
- 1:13Speaker 3: if those are within your realm, definitely do that. Otherwise,
- 1:16Speaker 3: just try and find a park and hang out and
- 1:18Speaker 3: see what happens.
- 1:19Speaker 1: Just hang out at the park and see what happens.
- 1:22Speaker 3: Kind of like that in a nice way. Yeah, yeah,
- 1:26Speaker 3: don't loiter obviously, obviously.
- 1:30Speaker 2: Get yourself a blanket and a book and yeah, that
- 1:34Speaker 2: kind of thing.
- 1:35Speaker 3: Maybe a little picnic. Embrace your childhood's favorites. So if
- 1:41Speaker 3: there was a game or a toy something like that
- 1:45Speaker 3: that you loved when you were a kid, pull that
- 1:47Speaker 3: back out and and try it. If nothing else, you'll
- 1:51Speaker 3: probably have some good memories that come back to heart,
- 1:54Speaker 3: and you know, you might just find yourself embracing that
- 1:58Speaker 3: fun from when you were a kid.
- 2:00Speaker 1: Red Rover, Red Rover, send a lane run over.
- 2:04Speaker 3: You better look out, because I am good at Red Rover.
- 2:06Speaker 1: I love playing that game. What else have we got?
- 2:11Speaker 3: The next recommendation is to invite others. So you have friends, family, kids, pets,
- 2:19Speaker 3: whoever it might be, invite them to come and join
- 2:23Speaker 3: you in the.
- 2:24Speaker 1: Fun you want to play with you.
- 2:26Speaker 3: You know, Red Rover alone is much less fun than
- 2:30Speaker 3: Red Rover.
- 2:30Speaker 1: With a group, right, that's true. You need to I
- 2:32Speaker 1: don't know, at least ten people, yeah.
- 2:35Speaker 3: Exactly, recruit some others to come along and enhance the fun.
- 2:39Speaker 2: You know what I never do anymore? And I used
- 2:42Speaker 2: to do this all the time when I was little.
- 2:44Speaker 2: Is play marbles? Nobody plays marbles anymore? Need to bring
- 2:47Speaker 2: it back.
- 2:48Speaker 1: You know, you make a ring, draw.
- 2:51Speaker 2: A ring, and then you you know, shoot marvel and
- 2:55Speaker 2: you like play for keepsies.
- 2:57Speaker 1: Maybe marble tournament.
- 3:00Speaker 3: Go, oh my gosh, that would be fun.
- 3:02Speaker 2: Yeah, that'd be As a matter of fact, there used
- 3:05Speaker 2: to be uh school marble tournaments and hopscotch tournaments in elementary.
- 3:11Speaker 1: Yeah, when I was growing up, that was fun. I
- 3:14Speaker 1: like hopscotch too, me too. And jacks. I like jacks.
- 3:20Speaker 2: A bunch of us boys would play jacks at recess
- 3:22Speaker 2: for some reason.
- 3:24Speaker 1: Got that's a girl game. It's fun, though, let's do it.
- 3:28Speaker 3: Look at all your good idea brainstorming. I love this.
- 3:34Speaker 1: What else have we got?
- 3:36Speaker 3: The next recommendation is to let things be in imperfect
- 3:40Speaker 3: excuse me, so it doesn't have to be super structured
- 3:45Speaker 3: and organized, you know, allow yourself to be a little
- 3:48Speaker 3: bit goofy and just imagine the way that kids play
- 3:51Speaker 3: with play dough and they smash it all over the place.
- 3:54Speaker 3: Give yourself permission to have some of that freedom.
- 3:57Speaker 1: So don't be too competitive as well.
- 4:00Speaker 3: Yeah, yes, yes, you don't have to win all of
- 4:04Speaker 3: the marbles.
- 4:05Speaker 1: Right, I like to get some slime. I haven't had
- 4:08Speaker 1: slime for a long time.
- 4:10Speaker 3: Oh, that stuff is crazy.
- 4:11Speaker 1: We've really got her fingers.
- 4:14Speaker 3: I know. I love this so much.
- 4:17Speaker 1: What else are we going to do?
- 4:18Speaker 3: I'm having the next I'm so glad. The next tip
- 4:24Speaker 3: is to make time for play. And this might mean
- 4:27Speaker 3: that we put it on our calendar, just whatever we
- 4:31Speaker 3: can do to be really intentional about it. I think
- 4:35Speaker 3: if you talk to just about anybody, they're going to say, oh,
- 4:38Speaker 3: I'm so busy. I'm so busy, So lock out some
- 4:42Speaker 3: time so that you can. You can schedule time for
- 4:45Speaker 3: that place.
- 4:46Speaker 2: I'm going to put it on my calendar and I'm
- 4:47Speaker 2: going to put recess every day.
- 4:50Speaker 1: Yes, I'm going to go to Recess.
- 4:53Speaker 3: That's perfect. That's perfect.
- 4:55Speaker 1: About a half an hour something like that, Okay.
- 4:58Speaker 3: Yeah, And the final recommendation is to just try something new.
- 5:04Speaker 3: You know, we've been kind of brainstorming a lot of
- 5:06Speaker 3: childhood favorites, and our brain also loves novelty. So if
- 5:11Speaker 3: there's a new game or a craft, or an instrument,
- 5:15Speaker 3: whatever it might be that you've been dying to try. Now,
- 5:18Speaker 3: is that time to just dive in. Let it be messy,
- 5:23Speaker 3: let it be imperfect, and try something new.
- 5:26Speaker 2: Okay, but it's been a long time since I've stood
- 5:28Speaker 2: on my head. Maybe I'll try that. Here you go,
- 5:31Speaker 2: so stand on my head.
- 5:32Speaker 3: You got to start somewhere, right, But as always, safety first,
- 5:36Speaker 3: don't get into anything you can't get out of us.
- 5:37Speaker 1: All right.
- 5:38Speaker 2: If you want more information on all of this, Lelena,
- 5:40Speaker 2: where do we find it?
- 5:42Speaker 3: So you can learn more about this as well as
- 5:44Speaker 3: Nightingale's amazing programs by visiting Nightingale dot edu.
- 5:48Speaker 2: Okay, all right, I'm going to get a wood burning kit.
- 5:51Speaker 2: That's what I'm going to do.
- 5:52Speaker 1: All of these things are inside stuff that you're talking about.
- 5:55Speaker 1: Oh yeah, go outside. Yeah, I can sit outside and
- 5:58Speaker 1: do it.
- 5:58Speaker 2: Sure, yeah, all right, see
- 6:03Speaker 3: You take care Okay,
