- 0:17Speaker 1: Here we're having the polliner octoberfest beer yeah yeah uh
- 0:22Speaker 1: this one this bad boy's coming in at six percent
- 0:25Speaker 1: alcohol by volume uh you could expect this to be
- 0:28Speaker 1: bright golden It's brewed there.
- 0:30Speaker 3: In Germany, Munich. I mean, it looks delicious.
- 0:35Speaker 2: Cheers.
- 0:36Speaker 3: Mazel, mazel, good things.
- 0:38Speaker 2: Is there anything else?
- 0:39Speaker 1: I mean, I've got other stuff. I pulled some fun facts,
- 0:42Speaker 1: but I want to get the beer in my mouth.
- 0:43Speaker 2: Okay, that's fine.
- 0:49Speaker 3: Yeah, that's good. That's good. Oh, man, that is.
- 0:55Speaker 2: Wunderbar.
- 0:56Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, for sure.
- 0:58Speaker 1: Now, fun fact about this. This is one of the
- 1:01Speaker 1: six actual Oktoberfest beers.
- 1:03Speaker 2: Yeah, they have a tent.
- 1:05Speaker 4: Palmer has a tent out there. They have a tent,
- 1:07Speaker 4: I think, in Vegas, too. I think Palmer has a
- 1:09Speaker 4: tent in Vegas.
- 1:09Speaker 3: Do they?
- 1:10Speaker 2: So when Oktoberfest rolled around, they had an actual.
- 1:12Speaker 3: I mean, I'm sure they would.
- 1:13Speaker 4: Yeah. Yeah.
- 1:14Speaker 2: It's pretty cool.
- 1:16Speaker 3: Palmer's been a part of Oktoberfest since... What's your guess?
- 1:19Speaker 2: Oh, God.
- 1:20Speaker 1: 1875.
- 1:20Speaker 2: 1818. Damn. I was going to go real deep, but
- 1:21Speaker 2: I laid off a little bit. Yeah.
- 1:29Speaker 3: Let's see here. This is actually stronger than their regular lager.
- 1:33Speaker 2: Yeah, this is.
- 1:35Speaker 4: 6%, which is a little bit higher for Oktoberfest beers.
- 1:39Speaker 2: They keep everything about 4.5 to 5.
- 1:40Speaker 3: Oh, I'm just talking about Polliner's regular.
- 1:43Speaker 2: Oh, their lineup?
- 1:44Speaker 3: Yeah, those are typically 4.9%.
- 1:47Speaker 4: Most of the beers out there for Oktoberfest are a
- 1:49Speaker 4: little bit lighter because you sit there, you get your steins.
- 1:52Speaker 4: They don't fill it to the brim. They fill it
- 1:54Speaker 4: a little bit away with a lot of head on it.
- 1:57Speaker 3: Um, it's like, give it that hard pour for your
- 1:59Speaker 3: napkin all day.
- 2:01Speaker 2: And, uh, it's a little bit lighter for sure. 6%
- 2:04Speaker 2: is a little high. Yeah.
- 2:06Speaker 3: It was pretty damn good.
- 2:07Speaker 2: I'll tell you that. Yeah.
- 2:09Speaker 1: Um, and despite this brewery dating back to 1634, it
- 2:14Speaker 1: is actually one of the youngest Oktoberfest breweries.
- 2:17Speaker 3: Oh, all the other ones are older. So of the
- 2:20Speaker 3: six out of the six.
- 2:21Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 2:21Speaker 3: Okay. Yeah.
- 2:22Speaker 2: Cool.
- 2:23Speaker 3: So there's some fun facts for you.
- 2:25Speaker 2: That was fun.
- 2:25Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 2:26Speaker 3: You guys like fun facts? Let us know.
- 2:30Speaker 2: We're done with the fun facts? No, no.
- 2:31Speaker 3: I mean, yeah, that's what I got.
- 2:33Speaker 1: I mean, I could also let you know that the
- 2:35Speaker 1: beer tent has an underground beer pipeline.
- 2:37Speaker 2: Ooh, I like that.
- 2:38Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 2:39Speaker 2: I like that. Oh, yeah.
- 2:40Speaker 3: Oh, yeah.
- 2:41Speaker 1: In 2010, Paulner introduced an underground ring pipeline to supply
- 2:45Speaker 1: his Oktoberfest tent.
- 2:47Speaker 3: Its modern taps can pour up to how many beers
- 2:49Speaker 3: a minute?
- 2:50Speaker 2: Ooh, how many beers?
- 2:51Speaker 3: How many beers per minute each? Each tap. Each tap
- 2:54Speaker 3: can pour how many beers per minute?
- 2:56Speaker 2: 150.
- 2:57Speaker 3: Well, no, each tap. So like one tap can pour
- 3:00Speaker 3: how many beers in a minute?
- 3:02Speaker 2: About 25. 15.
- 3:02Speaker 4: Okay.
- 3:02Speaker 2: 15, which is still. My bad.
- 3:06Speaker 3: That's pretty impressive.
- 3:07Speaker 2: Those beers are coming, buddy.
- 3:08Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 3:08Speaker 2: I'm thirsty tonight. Right.
- 3:11Speaker 1: Have you ever been to a brewery here at anywhere
- 3:14Speaker 1: here in the U S where you're like, they could
- 3:16Speaker 1: probably knock out 15 beers a minute in that tap.
- 3:18Speaker 2: Never thought about it.
- 3:19Speaker 3: I mean, I just, but you always, you never see
- 3:21Speaker 3: someone just go and be ready.
- 3:24Speaker 4: Right.
- 3:24Speaker 2: I like how they do it though.
- 3:26Speaker 4: Because so you'll see the, I don't know what they
- 3:27Speaker 4: call them, the chicks, the beer maidens or whatever.
- 3:30Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 3:31Speaker 2: And so they'll knock back like probably like 900 beers
- 3:33Speaker 2: and they just.
- 3:34Speaker 3: Oh, yeah.
- 3:35Speaker 4: And they just start walking off. And it's really cool. Like,
- 3:38Speaker 4: it's pretty dope. No, I like Oktoberfest. We missed this
- 3:40Speaker 4: past weekend for a lot of them. They opened up
- 3:42Speaker 4: this weekend just like they did in Munich. But there's
- 3:46Speaker 4: other ones coming up and maybe we'll catch one or two.
- 3:48Speaker 3: Okay.
- 3:49Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 3:49Speaker 2: Looking forward to it. Big time.
- 3:50Speaker 4: Because the craft beers get us out of control a
- 3:54Speaker 4: little bit. And so when it's time to go home,
- 3:56Speaker 4: nobody wants to go home. But I'm like, yeah, it's
- 3:58Speaker 4: time to go home because we can't walk right. And
- 4:00Speaker 4: our shoes are on the wrong feet.
- 4:01Speaker 2: But we got to go.
- 4:02Speaker 3: Here's the problem. You're wearing my shoes and I'm wearing
- 4:04Speaker 3: your shoes.
- 4:05Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 4:05Speaker 3: Does not work out for me. It works out great
- 4:06Speaker 3: for you.
- 4:07Speaker 2: I'll go for a little bit.
- 4:08Speaker 4: But yeah, Liz is always in the Steinholding contest. She
- 4:12Speaker 4: did that three nations back in Farmer's Ranch.
- 4:14Speaker 3: Has she ever won? No, no, no.
- 4:15Speaker 2: She's close to like the end, like top three, maybe.
- 4:18Speaker 3: Yeah. Maybe she just needs to start year round training
- 4:21Speaker 3: for that.
- 4:21Speaker 2: She doesn't. Yeah, she doesn't train.
- 4:22Speaker 3: I mean, you just got to be like, hey, look here.
- 4:24Speaker 3: If you're going to do this, let's.
- 4:25Speaker 2: Take this seriously. No, she just shows up drunk and
- 4:27Speaker 2: we're like, let's party.
- 4:28Speaker 4: I go, that's about how I handle everything.
- 4:30Speaker 2: So I'm in.
- 4:32Speaker 4: But yeah, no, that was like, but no, not the
- 4:34Speaker 4: three nations have moved from Farmer's Branch to Carrollton. Obviously
- 4:37Speaker 4: massive downtown Carrollton operation. They have their beautiful place. Love
- 4:41Speaker 4: it so much. And we went last year. We'll probably
- 4:44Speaker 4: go this year too. But yeah, no, it's like, as
- 4:46Speaker 4: long as it's not crazy, it's nice weather today.
- 4:49Speaker 2: I mean, if it keeps getting cooler, I'm in.
- 4:51Speaker 3: I think we're supposed to get a little bit of rain.
- 4:53Speaker 3: It's supposed to bring the temps down this weekend. I
- 4:55Speaker 3: hope so.
- 4:56Speaker 2: I'm in. I'm in. For me, this is a classic.
- 5:00Speaker 2: This is a must-have in the October fest season. You
- 5:03Speaker 2: want fest beers. Obviously, it's not a... What's that? It
- 5:07Speaker 2: starts with an M.
- 5:09Speaker 3: It's darker.
- 5:10Speaker 4: It's not a Marzen. This is an actual fest beer.
- 5:12Speaker 4: That's how it should be. You're drinking fast beers. You're
- 5:14Speaker 4: not drinking Marzen when you go to Oktoberfest.
- 5:16Speaker 3: Well, this is one. They do two at Oktoberfest. They
- 5:19Speaker 3: do this and they do the Marzen.
- 5:20Speaker 2: They'll have it, but everyone's drinking this.
- 5:22Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 5:22Speaker 4: Because it's just, it's not so sweet, not so heavy.
- 5:26Speaker 2: And this is a, you can slam these things. This
- 5:28Speaker 2: one's a bit high on the ABV. Right. But it
- 5:32Speaker 2: is what it is. Yeah.
- 5:35Speaker 3: Finishing her off.
- 5:36Speaker 4: I mean, what pairs well with this beer?
- 5:39Speaker 2: Do you have that by chance? I can ask. Go
- 5:41Speaker 2: ahead and ask it. I'm going to have me another sip.
- 5:43Speaker 2: We'll be here for another minute or two.
- 5:47Speaker 4: I'm watching Mike Tyson hang out with the boys from
- 5:50Speaker 4: The Hangover. The Hangover Part 2.
- 5:53Speaker 2: So great. Is this two? Yeah, it's two. They're in Bangkok.
- 5:57Speaker 2: Bangkok has them now.
- 5:58Speaker 3: Three was... They go back to Vegas. Okay, that's right.
- 6:02Speaker 2: It's so great. There's Teddy. He goes, I have some
- 6:04Speaker 2: pictures of my phone. All right.
- 6:08Speaker 3: I got six food pairings here. Are you going to
- 6:11Speaker 3: take some guesses?
- 6:11Speaker 2: Schnitzel.
- 6:13Speaker 3: Schnitzel is pork schnitzel is number three.
- 6:17Speaker 2: All right. Pretzels.
- 6:20Speaker 3: Pretzels. Soft pretzels and beer cheese. Number two.
- 6:23Speaker 2: All right. That's all I got. I got nothing else.
- 6:26Speaker 3: Come on. Sauerkraut.
- 6:29Speaker 2: With? The sausage.
- 6:32Speaker 3: Bratwurst.
- 6:32Speaker 4: Bratwurst.
- 6:33Speaker 3: That's number one.
- 6:34Speaker 2: That's number one.
- 6:35Speaker 3: That's number one.
- 6:35Speaker 2: Oh, buddy.
- 6:37Speaker 3: Number four. Any guesses?
- 6:41Speaker 4: Nah.
- 6:42Speaker 3: Four, five, or six. Six is actually a dessert. So
- 6:45Speaker 3: if you had to guess a dessert, what would you guess?
- 6:47Speaker 2: In Germany? I don't even know what they ate for
- 6:49Speaker 2: that dessert. I don't know. Something wild ass. It's wild
- 6:52Speaker 2: ass as shit. Tell me.
- 6:54Speaker 3: Apple strudel.
- 6:55Speaker 2: Oh, ah. All right.
- 7:00Speaker 3: What's one of the most American foods there is?
- 7:02Speaker 2: Here?
- 7:02Speaker 3: Yeah. Hamburgers. Cheeseburgers.
- 7:04Speaker 2: Cheeseburgers. Yeah.
- 7:05Speaker 3: That's number five.
- 7:06Speaker 4: All right.
- 7:06Speaker 3: And number four, barbecue ribs.
- 7:08Speaker 2: Really?
- 7:09Speaker 1: Really.
- 7:09Speaker 2: I bet it's great. Yeah.
- 7:10Speaker 3: All right.
- 7:10Speaker 2: Let's get the hell out of here.
- 7:14Speaker 3: There we go.
- 7:15Speaker 4: Cheers.
- 7:15Speaker 3: Miles and miles of good things.
- 7:16Speaker 2: Let's go. All right. Prost.
- 7:23Speaker 3: What Octoberfest beers.
- 7:24Speaker 1: You guys knocking back? Have you gone to any Oktoberfest locally?
- 7:28Speaker 3: Let us know. So much fun. So much fun. As always, guys,
- 7:31Speaker 3: I'm Alan.
- 7:32Speaker 2: I'm BF3K. Talk to you guys later.
- 7:34Speaker 1: Deuces.
